- 0:39Speaker 3: What a weekend, eh, fellas? What a stallion across the
- 0:43Speaker 3: desk from me. Old Mogi, how's life?
- 0:46Speaker 5: You're pretty grousey, you mad dog, you sick son of
- 0:50Speaker 5: a bee. What a hell of a weekend it was.
- 0:53Speaker 5: There was a hell of a lot on, not least
- 0:55Speaker 5: of all Father's Day, Jase. Yes. Big kaha to you
- 0:59Speaker 5: for all the service you've done in that area. You've
- 1:02Speaker 5: been hard at work for many a decade. Child after
- 1:06Speaker 5: child after child after child. It's not easy. Thanks, mate.
- 1:10Speaker 5: You get up and you do it day in, day out. Keezy,
- 1:12Speaker 5: of course, brother, you're not quite there yet, man. One
- 1:16Speaker 5: on the way, though. Little birdie tells me. Tweeting on
- 1:19Speaker 5: the shoulder. This time next year, you'll be in the
- 1:22Speaker 5: cool club with old Moby and Hoodie J, man. How
- 1:25Speaker 5: you doing, brother? Yeah, good.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Still not pregnant. So don't know what you guys are
- 1:29Speaker 4: talking about.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Jeez, it would have been a hell of a weekend
- 1:30Speaker 5: if you were pregnant.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32Speaker 5: Hey, old Keezy.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Hey. Yeah, because here you are having.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Guys, I'm hungover still, all right? So if we could
- 1:39Speaker 4: just have a chill one. Is that like a thing
- 1:41Speaker 4: we do? Like a big Monday chill? Come on, Keezy, man.
- 1:44Speaker 4: We've got to get the weekend off to a rip-roaring start.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Yeah, totally, man.
- 1:47Speaker 5: You're just going to have to fake it, man, for
- 1:49Speaker 5: three minutes at a time. How are you feeling? Yeah, good.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Backbone.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Backbone.
- 1:52Speaker 4: My wife.
- 1:53Speaker 3: How are you, Jase?
- 1:54Speaker 6: Yeah, good, thanks.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Can't complain. Big weekend, as Mokey said, Father's Day yesterday. No,
- 2:01Speaker 3: bloody good. I can't complain at all. Really stoked to
- 2:04Speaker 3: be back at work, though, on a Monday afternoon, you know,
- 2:07Speaker 3: talking to all the backbones out there. Bloody oath.
- 2:09Speaker 4: We've got a good show coming up as well, fellas.
- 2:15Speaker 4: What's happening on The Big Show with Old Mokey?
- 2:18Speaker 5: Another day, another opportunity to get yourself into the draw
- 2:21Speaker 5: for Would You Rather. It's Wazzle Cars, Keezy.
- 2:24Speaker 7: Ah.
- 2:24Speaker 5: Wazzle Cars, man.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yeah, you talk about grand final or Bathurst.
- 2:28Speaker 5: That's right. Listen out for the cue to call later
- 2:30Speaker 5: in the show and get yourself in the draw to
- 2:32Speaker 5: win one of those incredible prizes. Yeah, feels. Also, over
- 2:36Speaker 5: the weekend, I went out to the Warriors there and
- 2:37Speaker 5: I did my first ever commentary of a Warriors game.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 2:41Speaker 5: Jeez, it was exciting stuff. We'll get into that after
- 2:43Speaker 5: five o'clock. And coming up next, Chase, you and I
- 2:46Speaker 5: are going to dissect Our Father's Day a little bit.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yes, Judge, if you will.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Yes, Keezy had a shocker from the sounds of it.
- 2:53Speaker 5: Because he isn't a father yet, but he is a son.
- 2:56Speaker 5: You know what I'm saying? He is a son. And
- 2:58Speaker 5: from the sounds of things, he could have done better.
- 3:00Speaker 4: You can always do better, fellas, but as long as
- 3:02Speaker 4: you're doing your best, your very best at the time.
- 3:04Speaker 5: At the time.
- 3:05Speaker 4: At the time. With what you've got, that's all G.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Here's friends for a man.
- 3:10Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 3:14Speaker 3: Radiohead there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this Monday afternoon.
- 3:18Speaker 3: The time is 14 minutes past 4 o'clock and a
- 3:20Speaker 3: massive day yesterday for a lot of fathers out there, Mogi.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Old Father's Day.
- 3:26Speaker 5: It's a good name for it, isn't it?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Father's Day.
- 3:28Speaker 6: Yes.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Doesn't leave anything to the imagination there. It's all about fathers.
- 3:33Speaker 5: It is. I'm surprised that they don't have songs. You know,
- 3:37Speaker 5: theme songs. They have it for Christmas and that. Nothing
- 3:40Speaker 5: for Father's Day, Keezy. Yeah, it's true.
- 3:42Speaker 9: I mean, you could play like Father and Son or something.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Yeah, but that sort of rules out all the daughters.
- 3:46Speaker 5: That's a bit sexist, Keezy. You can't do that, man.
- 3:48Speaker 5: That's a good point. That's a shocker to hear from you.
- 3:50Speaker 5: It's a good day for me, man. I woke up.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Well, that is a good day.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Any day above ground, Keezy, that's what they say. Any
- 3:58Speaker 5: day above ground, brother, that's a good day, all right?
- 4:00Speaker 5: I don't know about you, Hoodie J, but I still
- 4:03Speaker 5: put my boots on one at a time.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Your Ugg boots.
- 4:07Speaker 5: Anyway, so I wake up in the morning. My wife's
- 4:10Speaker 5: already gotten up out of bed. I'm thinking to myself,
- 4:12Speaker 5: you beauty. Here comes a cup of coffee and a croissant.
- 4:15Speaker 5: There I can hear my daughter playing with my sister-in-law
- 4:20Speaker 5: and my mother-in-law who are there for the weekend. Anyway,
- 4:23Speaker 5: I'm lying there for about two and a half hours
- 4:24Speaker 5: and I think to myself, you know what, I'll just
- 4:26Speaker 5: get up. Yes. And I go out there into the
- 4:29Speaker 5: lounge there and they've started watching a replay of the rugby.
- 4:32Speaker 5: I was like, oh, is this on?
- 4:34Speaker 4: Are you kidding?
- 4:35Speaker 5: No.
- 4:36Speaker 3: Far out.
- 4:37Speaker 5: I was like, is this on already? They said, oh,
- 4:38Speaker 5: I thought you'd have a sleep in. It's like, I've
- 4:40Speaker 5: been awake for hours. Just thought you guys would bring
- 4:43Speaker 5: me in a coffee and that. All good, all good. Anyway,
- 4:46Speaker 5: they paused it reluctantly and got me my presents. Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Which was nice. It was a card. And so my
- 4:55Speaker 5: wife does a really good job, and my daughter. They
- 4:57Speaker 5: do a card, you know, with a really nice message
- 5:00Speaker 5: in it. And then sort of some vouchers, some vouchery
- 5:04Speaker 5: type things. And one was for a 12-week parenting course,
- 5:09Speaker 5: just for me. Oh, wow.
- 5:11Speaker 4: Oh, that's... And had they made that, or was it
- 5:14Speaker 4: like a real voucher?
- 5:15Speaker 5: It was a real voucher.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Oh, for real.
- 5:16Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 5: So I've got to start... not got to, I get
- 5:19Speaker 5: to start that course next week. Oh, how good.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:22Speaker 3: How many nights a week is that?
- 5:24Speaker 5: Five.
- 5:25Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 5:25Speaker 5: So I go home from this and that's three hours.
- 5:28Speaker 5: Just online, though, so it's easier.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Oh, that's good.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Seven years in about time.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Yeah, nice. So that's really good. So I was really
- 5:36Speaker 5: happy to have that. But what sort of let it
- 5:38Speaker 5: down a little bit was my daughter, she decided to
- 5:43Speaker 5: get sick. yesterday.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, classic.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Yeah, had a flu.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Well, hang on.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Coughing all over me and all that.
- 5:49Speaker 4: She didn't decide to. I mean, sickness by chance, you
- 5:52Speaker 4: know what I mean?
- 5:53Speaker 5: It's not a... It's all about them for kids, isn't it?
- 5:55Speaker 5: I'll put it to you this way, Keezy. It's a
- 5:56Speaker 5: hell of a coincidence, man.
- 5:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:59Speaker 4: So hang on. No, it is a coincidence. Are you
- 6:01Speaker 4: suggesting that she intentionally got sick to.
- 6:03Speaker 5: Take care of Keezy? Keezy, how many kids have you got? Zero.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 6:11Speaker 4: How was your Father's Day, Jase?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Well, I was about to get into it, but then
- 6:14Speaker 3: you just very, very rudely pressed play on Soundgarden.
- 6:22Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 6:25Speaker 8: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 6:28Speaker 3: The Hive's there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
- 6:31Speaker 3: Monday afternoon. The time, 25 minutes past 4 o'clock. We're
- 6:34Speaker 3: talking Father's Day. I don't know if you fellas know this,
- 6:39Speaker 3: but I've been a father for a while now.
- 6:41Speaker 5: That's so true, man. I reckon you were born a father. Yeah.
- 6:45Speaker 5: You just got that vibe about you, you know?
- 6:48Speaker 3: Yeah, the sort of kind of authority figure. Yes.
- 6:52Speaker 1: The leader.
- 6:53Speaker 3: All that sort of jazz.
- 6:54Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what a father is, eh?
- 6:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 3: But, you know, you'll find, Mogi, as the years go on,
- 6:59Speaker 3: of course, Father's Day evolves.
- 7:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I've got so much to learn from you. Oh, look,
- 7:05Speaker 3: any time you want to suckle upon the buzzy of
- 7:09Speaker 3: Hoodie J, you're most welcome to tuck in there.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Appreciate that, man.
- 7:14Speaker 4: Is that, like, knowledge-wise?
- 7:15Speaker 3: Well, yes. He can make it whatever he wants, Keezy.
- 7:20Speaker 3: So I woke up. crack of dawn there and rolled
- 7:24Speaker 3: over for a nice little morning spoon. Then I was like, oh,
- 7:32Speaker 3: hang on, what's going on here?
- 7:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:34Speaker 3: My wife's not there. She's gone. Oh, what? And I'm like, oh,
- 7:38Speaker 3: she must be out like you. Yes. Out there making
- 7:40Speaker 3: me my morning coffee there and maybe, you know, some
- 7:45Speaker 3: hot toast or something like that.
- 7:48Speaker 4: Some hot toast.
- 7:49Speaker 5: Hot toast is the best. Have you tried that, Keezy? Well, yeah,
- 7:51Speaker 5: on a special occasion.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Yeah, hot toast.
- 7:53Speaker 3: It is a special occasion.
- 7:55Speaker 5: Because it's Father's Day. You're not listening.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Oh, come on, man. Pull yourself together, Keezy.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I'm trying.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So I go out to the kitchen because I can't
- 8:04Speaker 3: hear anything. And I'm going, oh, that's weird.
- 8:06Speaker 8: Yes.
- 8:06Speaker 3: And my phone's plugged in the kitchen out there. And
- 8:08Speaker 3: I go on my phone. I've got a message from
- 8:11Speaker 3: my wife just meeting her mate for breakfast.
- 8:14Speaker 5: Oh, right.
- 8:15Speaker 4: Oh, wow, that sucks on Father's Day.
- 8:16Speaker 3: And I was like, oh. Okay. And I was like, oh,
- 8:20Speaker 3: I didn't realize you were doing that. She said, I
- 8:22Speaker 3: told you. Oh, wow. And I went, oh, okay. So
- 8:29Speaker 3: I went to make myself a coffee. Stove top there, Mogi,
- 8:34Speaker 3: as I do.
- 8:34Speaker 5: Do you burn it?
- 8:35Speaker 3: No coffee.
- 8:36Speaker 5: No coffee there.
- 8:37Speaker 3: No coffee at all. And I'm like.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Is there anything worse? Is there anything?
- 8:42Speaker 3: No, there's not.
- 8:43Speaker 4: When you go to use the hand soap dispenser and
- 8:46Speaker 4: there's no soap in it.
- 8:47Speaker 5: Not even close. Not even on the same planet, Keezy.
- 8:49Speaker 5: It's different worlds. It's worlds apart.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Pull yourself together, Keezy, for God's sake.
- 8:53Speaker 4: I'm having a crack.
- 8:57Speaker 3: And I'm like, effing and jeffing.
- 9:00Speaker 5: Rightfully so.
- 9:01Speaker 3: So I have to go and walk to the supermarket,
- 9:03Speaker 3: don't I? And I'm halfway to the supermarket, starts pissing
- 9:07Speaker 3: with rain. Did I take my umbrella? No, because my
- 9:10Speaker 3: wife had it. So I get drenched in rain.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Dredged in rain.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Are you listening?
- 9:20Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 9:21Speaker 5: What is up with you today?
- 9:26Speaker 3: Get to the supermarket, get all the stuff I need,
- 9:29Speaker 3: and get home.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Which was just coffee, wasn't it?
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, it was just coffee.
- 9:33Speaker 5: And an umbrella.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I did buy another umbrella. We need two, clearly. Get home,
- 9:40Speaker 3: make myself a coffee, and then I'm sitting on the
- 9:43Speaker 3: couch going, oh.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Were you twiddling your thumbs?
- 9:49Speaker 3: Oh, a little bit. I was doing the thing I
- 9:51Speaker 3: do where I had my hands clasped behind my back
- 9:53Speaker 3: and I was just looking out the window out in
- 9:56Speaker 3: the street there and the violence and chaos and pissing around.
- 10:01Speaker 3: And then it was about mid-morning. I get another message
- 10:04Speaker 3: from my wife. Hey, we've decided to go to X
- 10:06Speaker 3: and X. And I went, oh, okay. Oh, gee.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Without making a day of it.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, well, since they got together, you know, and I
- 10:15Speaker 3: was like, oh, no, that's all cool. Yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 5: Any chance I could tag along, did you ask?
- 10:22Speaker 3: Oh, no, I didn't want to get in the way.
- 10:25Speaker 3: You know what I mean? It wasn't about me, Mogi.
- 10:27Speaker 5: Yeah, right.
- 10:28Speaker 4: It's just because it's Father's Day, Jason.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I know, I know, but I don't want to make
- 10:31Speaker 3: a big deal about it, Keezy.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Yeah, true.
- 10:34Speaker 3: So then it's 12 o'clock, 1 o'clock. My youngest daughter's
- 10:37Speaker 3: still at home.
- 10:37Speaker 5: Yeah, right. What's she doing? She's asleep.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Gets up at about 1, comes out, and I'm like,
- 10:45Speaker 3: Good morning. Oh, no, good afternoon, youngster. How are you
- 10:50Speaker 3: going this fine day?
- 10:51Speaker 4: What did she say?
- 10:52Speaker 3: She went, oh, whatever, Dad. Right. And then she went
- 10:59Speaker 3: and had a shower. Yeah. And then she got changed
- 11:02Speaker 3: and came out, and I was like, so what are
- 11:05Speaker 3: you up to today then, eh? And she said, I
- 11:08Speaker 3: was going to meet my boyfriend in town. And I
- 11:10Speaker 3: was like, oh, okay, indeed.
- 11:13Speaker 4: Did you ask to tag along?
- 11:16Speaker 5: Come on, man. Do you know how uncool that would be, Keezy?
- 11:19Speaker 3: I've never been so close to slapping you.
- 11:22Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 11:27Speaker 8: in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki. One simple question.
- 11:32Speaker 8: One weekend of a lifetime.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Would you rather?
- 11:38Speaker 3: Yes, indeed, Wazzle Cars. It's up to you, New Zealand.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Both amazing prizes. So it's your call, really.
- 11:48Speaker 4: Certainly is, Jase. Bathurst or the Grand Final, NRL, both
- 11:53Speaker 4: are put on by Boys Trip, which means everything's taken
- 11:55Speaker 4: care of. You've got your flights taken care of, your accommodation.
- 11:57Speaker 4: If you go to Bathurst, you've got shuttles to and
- 11:59Speaker 4: from the racetrack for both Saturday and Sunday. And if
- 12:02Speaker 4: you choose the Grand Final, you've got a day at
- 12:05Speaker 4: the Renwick Races the day before, where you'll peak way
- 12:08Speaker 4: too early.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, carry on.
- 12:12Speaker 4: No, you guys just take over.
- 12:13Speaker 3: No, that's good.
- 12:14Speaker 4: That's good, Keezy.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You do this great stuff. Well, it's an amazing prize
- 12:18Speaker 3: either way, whichever direction you go in. It doesn't matter which.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Way you go.
- 12:20Speaker 3: No, totally. Let's go to the phone lines. G'day, Lisa.
- 12:23Speaker 3: How's life? Lisa?
- 12:26Speaker 4: Oh, the phone lines?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 12:27Speaker 5: Here you go.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Hello, Lisa.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Up the waz.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Up the waz. Up the waz. How's your day going, Lisa? Well,
- 12:36Speaker 3: I just got home from work, so it's going okay. Yeah,
- 12:38Speaker 3: what do you do for a crust?
- 12:40Speaker 6: Oh, service, customer service.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Oh, backbone. And tell me, Lisa, massive weekend, was it,
- 12:48Speaker 3: or was it pretty chill? Oh, it was a pretty full-on,
- 12:52Speaker 3: that was an intense game, I have to say.
- 12:54Speaker 5: Oh, it was. It was. One point victory there.
- 12:57Speaker 3: We won.
- 12:58Speaker 5: Yeah, she was pretty tense. Got the victory in the end,
- 13:00Speaker 5: but a few issues going into finals there, Lisa, don't
- 13:02Speaker 5: you reckon? Holy heck.
- 13:04Speaker 3: We'll see. Well, I'm picking, Lisa. You're going to opt
- 13:07Speaker 3: for the WARS or the NRL grand final. Yes? Opt
- 13:12Speaker 3: the WARS grand final, 100%.
- 13:13Speaker 2: Yeah, good on you, mate.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Lock it in.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Stay on the line there, Lisa, and I'll look after you.
- 13:18Speaker 3: Let's go to Dave. G'day, Dave, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 13:24Speaker 2: Oh, really good, thanks, guys. How are you?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah, good, thanks. Mate, you sound like you had a
- 13:27Speaker 3: massive weekend, Dave.
- 13:30Speaker 2: No, I had a quiet weekend with my kids over
- 13:32Speaker 2: the weekend, mate.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Oh, big one. Yeah, good on you.
- 13:36Speaker 2: My boys' final football game of the season on Saturday.
- 13:39Speaker 5: There they go.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, so much fun, man.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Did he win?
- 13:43Speaker 3: No.
- 13:43Speaker 2: A lot of.
- 13:45Speaker 5: Times they say, you know, it doesn't matter if he
- 13:47Speaker 5: won or not, it's whether he had fun, but that's rubbish,
- 13:49Speaker 5: isn't it?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Absolute rubbish, yeah. Super competitive even at nine years old.
- 13:54Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 13:55Speaker 3: Victory's the only way, man.
- 13:57Speaker 5: Totally.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Tell me, Dave, what do you do for a crust?
- 14:00Speaker 6: I work in a niche field, mate, legal metrology. So
- 14:04Speaker 6: we make sure petrol pumps and weigh bridges and all
- 14:09Speaker 6: sorts of weighing and measuring equipment are accurate for purpose.
- 14:14Speaker 5: As if we didn't know that, man.
- 14:17Speaker 3: You didn't have to explain it so much, Dave.
- 14:20Speaker 4: I mean, we know all about it.
- 14:22Speaker 3: We're not deer brains.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Meteorology.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Yeah, no, that was mansplaining, bro.
- 14:27Speaker 3: No, that's all good, mate. What are you looking at?
- 14:30Speaker 3: The NRL Grand Final or Bathurst?
- 14:32Speaker 6: Massively torn, man, because I know the Wives are going
- 14:34Speaker 6: to be in the final.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 14:36Speaker 2: But I'm going to go with Bathurst, please.
- 14:38Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 7: Okay.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I like it. I like it. Stay on the line,
- 14:41Speaker 3: old pugs. We'll take care of you, mate.
- 14:43Speaker 6: Cheers, guys.
- 14:44Speaker 5: Thanks, mate. It's not easy, is it? It's not easy.
- 14:47Speaker 7: No.
- 14:48Speaker 5: Big decision.
- 14:49Speaker 3: I mean, it's not for me.
- 14:51Speaker 4: What would you choose, Bathurst?
- 14:52Speaker 3: No, the Waz, man. What are you?
- 14:55Speaker 1: Keezy.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Did you watch the game?
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I did watch the game.
- 14:59Speaker 4: Who did we play?
- 15:01Speaker 3: Who did we play? I can't even remember. But we
- 15:04Speaker 3: did win by one point.
- 15:05Speaker 4: It was messy.
- 15:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I know you saw the score.
- 15:07Speaker 3: Oh, Manly, wasn't it?
- 15:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 15:09Speaker 3: Yeah, Manly. Yeah, yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 5: This guy gets it.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I just couldn't remember, you know. It was like Friday,
- 15:14Speaker 3: wasn't it? It was bloody days ago, Keezy.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Keezy remembers it really clearly because he was away on
- 15:19Speaker 5: his boys' trip. What was the score at halftime, Keezy?
- 15:25Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show. Weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. You too there on the Radio Hauraki Big
- 15:32Speaker 3: Show this Monday afternoon. The time is exactly 10 minutes
- 15:37Speaker 3: to 5 o'clock. Let's talk TV. What's on the telly
- 15:44Speaker 3: with Mike Minogue. Yes. Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 5: That's right. I'm still watching Alone, fellas. That's all I've got.
- 15:54Speaker 5: That's all I've got. I have the end of season
- 15:57Speaker 5: one tonight to talk about tomorrow, so you're just going
- 15:59Speaker 5: to have to bear with me. All right?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Alone.
- 16:03Speaker 5: There's no point haranguing me. About what I've been watching,
- 16:08Speaker 5: because I haven't been watching anything except for that one show.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Today on Samsung TV, I watched the Darjeeling Limited.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Darjeeling Limited.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Darjeeling. with Owen Wilson, Adrian Brophy and Jason Swartzman. The
- 16:29Speaker 3: plot follows three estranged brothers who agree to meet in
- 16:32Speaker 3: India a year after their father's funeral for a spiritual
- 16:37Speaker 3: journey aboard a luxury train. Directed by Wes Anderson.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Pretty funny.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Pretty funny. Good chemistry. between the three of those actors there,
- 16:50Speaker 3: and it's just one of those sort of ludicrous kind
- 16:53Speaker 3: of films, and it would be very good fun filming it,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I imagine. Yes. I think the fellas had a bloody
- 16:57Speaker 3: good time. I mean, it's silly, it's stupid, and I
- 17:00Speaker 3: enjoyed it a lot. I'll give it a solid three
- 17:04Speaker 3: buzzies out of five.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Wow.
- 17:06Speaker 4: The Darjeeling Limited.
- 17:07Speaker 5: The Darjeeling Limited.
- 17:09Speaker 1: And that's available.
- 17:10Speaker 4: randomly on Samsung TV if you switch over at the
- 17:13Speaker 4: right time.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Yes. I actually go so far as to say that's
- 17:15Speaker 5: probably his last good film.
- 17:17Speaker 6: Yes.
- 17:18Speaker 4: Who's that?
- 17:19Speaker 5: Wes Anderson. The director. Bottle Rocket, Keezy, then Rushmore in 1998.
- 17:24Speaker 5: The Royal Tenenbaums with Gene Hackman. Great film. Great actor.
- 17:28Speaker 5: The Life Aquatic with Steve Zizou.
- 17:31Speaker 4: I've always wanted to watch that. Is that not very good?
- 17:33Speaker 5: The Life Aquatic. Yeah. Yeah, it's great.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Oh, it is good.
- 17:35Speaker 5: And then the Darjeeling Limited. And after that, Fantastic Mr. Fox,
- 17:38Speaker 5: Moonrise Kingdom, Grand Budapest. Oh, Grand Budapest Hotel is good. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 17:45Speaker 3: It's a good movie. It's fun.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Fantastic Mr.
- 17:46Speaker 7: Fox.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I think your wife would like it.
- 17:48Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, that's good to know. Fantastic Mr. Fox is
- 17:52Speaker 4: weird but had cool animations.
- 17:53Speaker 5: It did, yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 4: It was a bit weird for me, though.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Yeah, a bit weird.
- 17:56Speaker 4: Fellas, yesterday I had a five-hour nap, and somewhere in
- 18:01Speaker 4: there I remember watching an episode of Country Calendar.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Within the five-hour nap.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Yeah, I was sort of in and out of lucidity,
- 18:09Speaker 4: if that's what it's called, and you just sort of
- 18:10Speaker 4: come to, and my wife's watching Country Calendar, and then
- 18:13Speaker 4: back to sleep, and then you wake up again to
- 18:14Speaker 4: find out how they diversified the farm to just help
- 18:17Speaker 4: with income and that. Really good.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Cherries?
- 18:22Speaker 5: Any cherries?
- 18:23Speaker 4: No, no, cherries. No, it wasn't cherries. It was like
- 18:25Speaker 4: how they're making a new thing for building using wool
- 18:28Speaker 4: from sheep or something.
- 18:29Speaker 5: I can't remember.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 18:30Speaker 4: Four buzzies out of five, though. TVNZ, Country Calendar, it's called.
- 18:34Speaker 5: You don't know what season or what episode they're doing.
- 18:36Speaker 4: Country Calendar.
- 18:36Speaker 3: You don't even know if you were conscious or if
- 18:39Speaker 3: you dreamt it. Yeah, that's right. Or you're in some
- 18:41Speaker 3: sort of delirium.
- 18:42Speaker 4: That's correct, 100%. Highly recommend, though, fellas.
- 18:45Speaker 5: Check it out.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Here's Pluto. Here's Pluto.
- 18:50Speaker 8: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 18:54Speaker 8: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 18:56Speaker 3: Welcome back, you massive backbones. Hope you're crawling through your
- 19:00Speaker 3: Monday afternoon. You're listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought
- 19:04Speaker 3: to you by ReBurger.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Handcrafted burgers, loaded fries and gourmet eats that will change
- 19:09Speaker 4: the game.
- 19:10Speaker 5: I can't believe it.
- 19:12Speaker 3: It's street food, but it's so unbelievably crave-worthy.
- 19:17Speaker 7: Yes, and they have beef, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options.
- 19:24Speaker 5: Yum.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Yum. I'll tell you what I'd like right now, fellas.
- 19:32Speaker 3: A couple of those loaded fries in the studio. That'd
- 19:35Speaker 3: be good, eh? For all of us. We'd be into that.
- 19:38Speaker 5: That's very generous of you, Jase.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 5: Jase, I could learn so much from you.
- 19:43Speaker 3: We'll get Pugs on to maybe Uber Eats us some
- 19:47Speaker 3: loaded fries. Just put it on the company. credit card.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Have you noticed that he's being really picky with the
- 19:53Speaker 4: company credit card?
- 19:54Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Like it's almost like there's no difference.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Huh? Anal.
- 20:00Speaker 5: Loaded fries?
- 20:02Speaker 4: What are you talking about?
- 20:04Speaker 3: He's being very anal with the credit card.
- 20:08Speaker 7: Oh.
- 20:10Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been really picky with the credit card.
- 20:12Speaker 5: Picky, I prefer.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Picky.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Right, I prefer anal. Just in the sense of, you know,
- 20:18Speaker 3: he's been very... Well, I suppose picky.
- 20:27Speaker 7: Jeez, um....
- 20:32Speaker 4: Yeah, he's been picky, yeah, yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 3: It's a turn of phrase, fellas, come on.
- 20:35Speaker 5: What is picky?
- 20:36Speaker 7: What is?
- 20:37Speaker 3: Picky. Oh, yeah.
- 20:39Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Here's Kings of Leon.
- 20:43Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
- 20:46Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yes, indeed. Tool there on the radio. Hodaki, big show
- 20:53Speaker 3: this Monday afternoon. The time is 15 minutes past five o'clock.
- 20:57Speaker 5: Fellas, what a weekend it was. We haven't even touched
- 21:00Speaker 5: on this, but the Warriors played. Yes, man. We haven't
- 21:02Speaker 5: even mentioned it.
- 21:03Speaker 3: No.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Normally we'd have Charlie Gubbin, wouldn't we, on a Monday,
- 21:06Speaker 5: but he said he's got a flu. Come on.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Come on, man.
- 21:10Speaker 5: He was up here all weekend. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:13Speaker 3: The flu.
- 21:13Speaker 5: The flu.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Good on you, Javi.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Fellas, I was lucky enough to be invited. When I
- 21:17Speaker 5: say invited, I mean I forced my way in. Yes.
- 21:20Speaker 5: To commentate my very first Warriors game. For Sky TV,
- 21:24Speaker 5: you might ask? No. For the ACC? No. Also no.
- 21:29Speaker 5: For a website, I think, that bases itself out of
- 21:31Speaker 5: the United Kingdom.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 21:35Speaker 5: So I was lucky enough to do it with the
- 21:37Speaker 5: guys from the podcast This Warrior's Life. If you're not
- 21:40Speaker 5: listening to it, give that a run. She's an absolute ripper.
- 21:43Speaker 5: And we went along there, and what a treat it
- 21:45Speaker 5: is to be given. You go along there to Lily World,
- 21:49Speaker 5: which is the bar next door.
- 21:50Speaker 4: Inside the stadium grounds, by the way.
- 21:52Speaker 5: Yeah, so you're at this bar. You walk through a gate.
- 21:55Speaker 5: They check your ticket. You can carry your beer through.
- 21:57Speaker 5: It's unbelievable. It's great. It's brilliant. So you go there.
- 22:00Speaker 5: You have, like, what, five or six jugs. Responsibly. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 5: And then you head over and you get a lift
- 22:08Speaker 5: up to the commentary booth there. And what a view.
- 22:11Speaker 5: Straight outside the window there was corporate boxes. And they
- 22:15Speaker 5: started handing out prawn cutlets.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Oh, yum.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Tuna.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Yes.
- 22:21Speaker 5: Bloody, like, proper, proper. Really good stuff. Whole bunch of
- 22:24Speaker 5: booze out of their fridge there.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Yeah, of course.
- 22:26Speaker 5: Because technically you're not allowed to drink in the commentary boxes.
- 22:29Speaker 5: So they were passing up. Started to get a little
- 22:31Speaker 5: bit hazy, to be honest with you. But, yeah, we
- 22:33Speaker 5: did the commentary. And I think it went. I think
- 22:35Speaker 5: it went great guns.
- 22:37Speaker 4: All right, well, we've actually got a clip of some commentary,
- 22:39Speaker 4: if you'd like to hear that, fellas.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I'm not sure if Warren's actually going
- 22:43Speaker 3: to make his way down to the sheds. He might,
- 22:45Speaker 3: so it's pretty invested.
- 22:49Speaker 1: In those puzzle pages in the paper.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Interesting you should say that, Will. I was just making
- 22:56Speaker 5: my way back from the urinal.
- 22:58Speaker 7: There's a lot of stairs there, but I managed to
- 23:00Speaker 7: do it relatively quickly, and as I bailed back up
- 23:03Speaker 7: the stairs.
- 23:05Speaker 5: I panicked to get back.
- 23:06Speaker 7: Here for this unbelievable halftime show with RugbyLeague.com. I made
- 23:12Speaker 7: a wrong turn, collided with the entire Manly Seagulls coaching staff.
- 23:20Speaker 5: There was about 11 of them.
- 23:21Speaker 7: You can imagine how happy they were to crash into somebody,
- 23:27Speaker 7: huffing and panting. Wearing a Warriors jersey with about 150
- 23:33Speaker 7: mils of urine sprayed down the.
- 23:35Speaker 5: Front of his jeans.
- 23:39Speaker 4: It's professional stuff.
- 23:40Speaker 3: Yes.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Well, it's a different sort of thing to what you're
- 23:43Speaker 5: used to, Keezy. This is a proper rugby league website.
- 23:49Speaker 5: And they expect a certain level of professionalism. We went
- 23:52Speaker 5: off the rails a little bit earlier on when we
- 23:53Speaker 5: were bagging Turbo. Travojevic there for being injury prone and
- 23:58Speaker 5: they told us to rope it in a bit but
- 23:59Speaker 5: I think all in all I think it went pretty
- 24:01Speaker 5: well yeah.
- 24:02Speaker 9: Because what you don't want to happen is like these
- 24:04Speaker 9: guys to work really hard on this podcast and really
- 24:06Speaker 9: build it up out of passion then they feel like
- 24:08Speaker 9: they have to bring old Mogie in and then he
- 24:10Speaker 9: gets really steamed in the commentary box and then he
- 24:12Speaker 9: has wheeze on him and then Kieran Foran and the
- 24:14Speaker 9: other thing you don't want them doing which I've actually
- 24:16Speaker 9: been sent audio for is letting old Mogie into the
- 24:20Speaker 9: press conference area after the game listen to this Give.
- 24:24Speaker 3: You a rest?
- 24:24Speaker 2: So it's not so intense?
- 24:25Speaker 5: Okay, we'll do that for you.
- 24:27Speaker 6: No worries, mate.
- 24:38Speaker 4: So that was at the actual press conference after the game?
- 24:42Speaker 3: Was that you, was it?
- 24:43Speaker 4: Asking the question.
- 24:44Speaker 5: They've got a few work-ons there out at Mount Smart,
- 24:48Speaker 5: but I came out of the commentary box and I
- 24:50Speaker 5: got a little bit waylaid. I got a bit lost
- 24:52Speaker 5: trying to get out of there. It's a rabbit warren
- 24:53Speaker 5: through there, Jake.
- 24:54Speaker 3: I can imagine, mate.
- 24:55Speaker 5: There's no signposts. There's nothing at all. Well, next thing
- 24:57Speaker 5: you know, I found myself in that little area where
- 24:59Speaker 5: they do the post-match presses.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:02Speaker 5: They had a little table there with some snacks and
- 25:04Speaker 5: a few beers. So I was just looking into the
- 25:07Speaker 5: few bears there. And it took them quite a long time, actually,
- 25:10Speaker 5: for the coaches to come out. Things got a little
- 25:14Speaker 5: bit hazy from there. But I think I said to him,
- 25:17Speaker 5: I found the last couple of weeks a little bit
- 25:19Speaker 5: stressful in terms of the closeness of the games.
- 25:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 25:22Speaker 5: So over the next couple of weeks, if you could
- 25:24Speaker 5: just flog those bastards, I'd much appreciate it. And he
- 25:27Speaker 5: said that he's going to do that for us. Yeah,
- 25:28Speaker 5: that's great. I'm hoping that I'll get invited back to
- 25:34Speaker 5: do the final next week by oldrugbyleague.com.
- 25:37Speaker 3: I have no question. or doubt that you will be.
- 25:40Speaker 3: That was– you see, Kesey, I reckon– Don't what? What?
- 25:43Speaker 3: I reckon you go and give that a listen to.
- 25:45Speaker 4: No, he's just then talking about having wheeze on his pants.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Yeah, because that's like proper commentary as opposed to your
- 25:51Speaker 3: sort of light entertainment sort of– You know, stuff.
- 25:56Speaker 4: He talked about having wheeze on his pants the whole time.
- 25:58Speaker 4: And he was huffing and puffing.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I was absolutely. I actually had to exit because I'd
- 26:03Speaker 5: had a few beers. I don't know if I mentioned that.
- 26:05Speaker 5: But as the commentary wore on, it became clear to
- 26:08Speaker 5: me there was no way I was going to be
- 26:09Speaker 5: able to make my way all the way down to
- 26:10Speaker 5: the concourse and beat the crowds at halftime without wetting myself.
- 26:15Speaker 5: So I had to duck out with about five minutes
- 26:17Speaker 5: of the commentary to go and get down there a
- 26:20Speaker 5: little bit early and then sprinted back up. So, yeah,
- 26:22Speaker 5: I was pretty puffed.
- 26:23Speaker 4: That's good stuff.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Quite a professionalism, that is.
- 26:25Speaker 5: Yeah, have you ever heard of that? Haven't you before, man? Nah.
- 26:29Speaker 4: Pugs, can you clip that off and just send it
- 26:30Speaker 4: to me so I can listen to it over and over?
- 26:33Speaker 2: Thanks, man.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Here's Snow Patrol.
- 26:37Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 26:40Speaker 8: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Smashing pumpkins there on the Radio Hauraki Big Show this
- 26:46Speaker 3: Monday evening. The time is 5.27 and fellas, I've got
- 26:50Speaker 3: a massive bone to pick. I've got a bone to pick.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Just give me a little second here to compose myself
- 27:01Speaker 3: a bit. I'm pretty fired up inside. Following on from
- 27:09Speaker 3: the heels of a brutal first scoring session and come
- 27:13Speaker 3: dine with the fellas, you'll recall, Mogi, that Keezy, after
- 27:19Speaker 3: my wife went to huge efforts to cook a beautiful
- 27:24Speaker 3: meal for the fellas, Keezy gave her a six.
- 27:27Speaker 4: I didn't give your wife a six.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Keezy, please!
- 27:29Speaker 4: I gave you a six.
- 27:31Speaker 3: She was pretty upset by that.
- 27:33Speaker 5: As she should have been. As she should have been.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Thank you, Mogi.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Yeah, cheers, Mogi.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Now, you'll recall in the last Come Dine with the
- 27:42Speaker 3: Fellas Hoodie J edition, I gave out some vouchers. Oh, yes.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Very generous. It took a lot of effort and organisation
- 27:49Speaker 3: to do that. Everyone had to do a lot of
- 27:52Speaker 3: behind-the-scenes stuff.
- 27:54Speaker 5: Indeed.
- 27:56Speaker 3: And one of those particular vouchers was a night of
- 28:00Speaker 3: hot pot with me, Keezy. Yes.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Great voucher.
- 28:04Speaker 3: My wife ended up getting that voucher.
- 28:07Speaker 4: In fact, she stole a present so she could have it.
- 28:10Speaker 3: So she could have it. And she was very much
- 28:12Speaker 3: looking forward to it, having a night of hot pot
- 28:15Speaker 3: with Keezy.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Yeah, it's weird, eh?
- 28:18Speaker 3: Now, on the Saturday night, this past weekend... My wife
- 28:23Speaker 3: messaged Keezy many times and said, you keen for this
- 28:28Speaker 3: hot pot tomorrow?
- 28:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:29Speaker 3: I understand you're at a sausage fest. You'll probably need
- 28:33Speaker 3: some spicy food tomorrow to pull you through.
- 28:36Speaker 5: Sorry, I was at a barbecue.
- 28:37Speaker 4: Just for those that aren't aware, I was at a
- 28:38Speaker 4: barbecue on the Saturday.
- 28:40Speaker 3: With 20 fellas.
- 28:40Speaker 5: It was a festival of sausage-ars. Yes. Festival O.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Keezy, I guess, in high spirits or whatever, was like,
- 28:51Speaker 3: absolutely lock it in.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Did I say that on the Saturday?
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yes, I can show you the messages.
- 28:55Speaker 4: I don't remember.
- 28:56Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:57Speaker 3: And so my wife was like, oh, so Keezy's keen
- 28:59Speaker 3: for tomorrow. And I went, oh, sweet. Good stuff. So then,
- 29:05Speaker 3: because they'd organised it for 2 o'clock tomorrow, yesterday afternoon,
- 29:09Speaker 3: my wife went to the hot pot, pissing with rain outside,
- 29:12Speaker 3: by the way, Mogi, She was like, oh, I didn't even,
- 29:16Speaker 3: but no, I promised Keezy.
- 29:17Speaker 4: Oh, so she promised me. Right, okay.
- 29:21Speaker 3: So she goes to Hot Pot and is standing outside
- 29:26Speaker 3: for about 10 or 15 minutes in the rain. Drenched.
- 29:29Speaker 4: Why didn't she go inside?
- 29:31Speaker 3: Well, she was waiting for you. She's just under the
- 29:33Speaker 3: awning there.
- 29:33Speaker 5: Oh, okay.
- 29:34Speaker 3: And she was, oh, well, he's probably running a bit late,
- 29:36Speaker 3: was texting him and calling him and calling him and
- 29:39Speaker 3: getting no answer. So she went, oh, I might as
- 29:42Speaker 3: well get my food and he'll probably arrive by the
- 29:44Speaker 3: time it'll be ready.
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:47Speaker 3: So she ordered her food.
- 29:48Speaker 4: What'd she get?
- 29:50Speaker 3: And she said it was really full too. It was
- 29:52Speaker 3: like really packed with a lot of people and she
- 29:53Speaker 3: kept having to shoo people away because it was like, oh,
- 29:56Speaker 3: I know someone's sitting there. Someone's sitting there. I just
- 30:00Speaker 3: have to keep that free if you don't mind. So
- 30:02Speaker 3: she felt pretty saved, yeah. She felt pretty humiliated. She
- 30:07Speaker 3: sat there 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. Kept calling Keezy.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Called him four or five times.
- 30:15Speaker 5: Where were you, Keezy?
- 30:17Speaker 4: I was at home asleep. I also remember I was
- 30:20Speaker 4: at a Festival au Sassage.
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 4: On the Saturday there, and I obviously had one too
- 30:25Speaker 4: many sausages responsibly.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:29Speaker 4: So I don't actually remember this conversation on the Saturday,
- 30:31Speaker 4: if I'm honest.
- 30:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:32Speaker 4: And then on the Sunday, I was in bed for
- 30:33Speaker 4: five hours asleep.
- 30:37Speaker 5: Jeez, you let yourself down here, haven't you?
- 30:41Speaker 3: My wife.
- 30:42Speaker 6: What?
- 30:42Speaker 4: My wife.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Has never had an experience like that. She has never
- 30:50Speaker 3: been stood up. She felt embarrassed, angry, upset.
- 30:57Speaker 5: Sad?
- 30:58Speaker 7: Sad.
- 30:58Speaker 3: She was looking forward to her afternoon of hot pot
- 31:01Speaker 3: with Keezy.
- 31:02Speaker 5: A little bit happy?
- 31:04Speaker 3: A little bit happy, yeah. Came home, and it was
- 31:09Speaker 3: Father's Day, you'll recall, yesterday.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Oh, I forgot about that.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I hadn't seen her all day because she'd been out
- 31:14Speaker 3: with her other mates, remember? I do. She left before
- 31:16Speaker 3: I even got up. She comes back finally for Father's
- 31:20Speaker 3: Day in.
- 31:21Speaker 4: A hair of a mood.
- 31:23Speaker 5: Soaking wet.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Soaking wet.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Still had a nice feed.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Spitting tacks about old Keezy. And then, you know, because
- 31:32Speaker 3: I was like, oh, it's Father's Day. And she said,
- 31:36Speaker 3: don't talk to me about Father's Day.
- 31:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 4: See that temper there. That's why I skipped out on
- 31:41Speaker 4: the hot pot.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah. And now, because she got drenched yesterday, she's got
- 31:46Speaker 3: a hurr of a flu.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Wait, so she gets wet and automatically gets the flu?
- 31:51Speaker 3: Yes, Keezy.
- 31:52Speaker 8: The Hodaki Big Show with Jace, Mike and Keezy.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hodaki.
- 31:58Speaker 3: Rage against the machine there on the Radio Hodaki Big
- 32:01Speaker 3: Show this Monday evening. The time is 5.41.
- 32:03Speaker 4: Fellas, last week, not last year, I don't know if
- 32:09Speaker 4: you guys remember, but I had been auditioning for an ad. Oh, yes.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Acting.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Getting into acting. And it was going quite well.
- 32:18Speaker 9: I got a callback, which meant I was one of
- 32:20Speaker 9: the final five or something.
- 32:21Speaker 5: I don't know. Yeah, shortlist.
- 32:23Speaker 4: Shortlist, yeah, which was great. And then I went back
- 32:25Speaker 4: and did the same sort of audition again, but this
- 32:27Speaker 4: time with a funny wig on.
- 32:28Speaker 5: And also with the director.
- 32:31Speaker 4: And the director was there on a little webcam.
- 32:32Speaker 3: And topless.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Yeah, the director was topless. Anyway, so it was great.
- 32:41Speaker 4: There's a lot of positive feedback I was getting and
- 32:43Speaker 4: a lot of happy vibes, happy vibes, happy vibes. That
- 32:45Speaker 4: was on Monday last week. It's now been a week
- 32:48Speaker 4: exactly and I haven't heard anything.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Wow.
- 32:52Speaker 4: So, I mean, I'm not jumping to any conclusions, but
- 32:55Speaker 4: I'm starting to think that maybe.
- 32:56Speaker 3: Oh, you haven't got it.
- 33:00Speaker 5: You don't reckon?
- 33:03Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 33:04Speaker 5: There's no way to know for sure. Generally, the way
- 33:06Speaker 5: you find out is when you see it on TV.
- 33:08Speaker 5: I thought your agent. And you say to yourself, hey,
- 33:13Speaker 5: that looks like that ad I auditioned for.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Yes.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Oh, he got it. That looks like the ad I
- 33:18Speaker 5: got shortlisted for.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:20Speaker 5: Haven't heard back about that one.
- 33:21Speaker 4: I must follow up on it.
- 33:23Speaker 5: Guess I didn't get it.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Right.
- 33:25Speaker 4: I just thought the agent would tell me.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Jase? No, he won't tell you.
- 33:28Speaker 3: No, I haven't checked my emails, to be honest, Keezy.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Wait, so you got me an audition.
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:35Speaker 9: And then heard from them via email that I had
- 33:37Speaker 9: a call back, and then you just haven't checked your inbox.
- 33:41Speaker 5: Oftentimes that can be where the whole thing falls over.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Well, when the agent can't be bothered checking his emails.
- 33:45Speaker 5: Well, I'm assuming Jase was very busy.
- 33:48Speaker 3: Well, obviously. I was watching a bit of Samsung TV.
- 33:53Speaker 5: So oftentimes the production company will come back and say, yep,
- 33:56Speaker 5: love him, these are the fees, I'd like to lock
- 33:59Speaker 5: it in, et cetera, et cetera. We shoot on, let's.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Say, Wednesday.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Wednesday, no answer.
- 34:06Speaker 3: Quick turnaround.
- 34:07Speaker 5: No answer, no answer, no answer. Oh, look, if you
- 34:10Speaker 5: don't get back to us, we're going to have to
- 34:11Speaker 5: go to the second person on the list. No answer,
- 34:12Speaker 5: no answer, no answer. Second person on the list.
- 34:15Speaker 4: You've missed out.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Happens all the time. Well, it shouldn't, though. So often
- 34:18Speaker 5: it's not the fault of the actor at all.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 34:22Speaker 3: It's a brute of an industry.
- 34:25Speaker 5: It's shocking. And there's nothing you can do to prepare
- 34:27Speaker 5: for that.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Well, hang on. Can you... That's just.
- 34:30Speaker 5: That's one of those things, as they say.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Yes.
- 34:33Speaker 5: It's just one of those things.
- 34:34Speaker 3: You've got to go with the flow there, as they say.
- 34:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you've got to– Sorry, hang on, hang on.
- 34:38Speaker 5: You've got to take the bad with the good.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Oh, and I'm all for taking the bad with the good.
- 34:42Speaker 4: But I just– You've got to suck it hard. Yeah.
- 34:46Speaker 5: I'm all for it.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Whatever needs to be done, I'll do it. But, Jase,
- 34:50Speaker 4: when do you check your emails? Because the chances are
- 34:53Speaker 4: there's an email in there saying, oh, Keezy was really
- 34:55Speaker 4: good and we've cast him in this ad.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Well, the problem that I have, I can't check them
- 34:59Speaker 3: right now because I have two different emails, one for
- 35:02Speaker 3: the agency and one for the work here. And I
- 35:05Speaker 3: can't check my agency one while I'm here.
- 35:08Speaker 5: Also, you can't really, I mean, you've got to be
- 35:12Speaker 5: focused on what you're doing here.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Exactly. The last thing this show needs is for me
- 35:17Speaker 3: to be trawling through my emails going, oh, God. Trying
- 35:22Speaker 3: to find your rejection email.
- 35:24Speaker 9: Can you do it during the day then? So, okay,
- 35:26Speaker 9: if it's a rejection, that's fine. Because it's at least
- 35:28Speaker 9: I know that I've been rejected. It's the not knowing
- 35:30Speaker 9: that gets you, Keezy. You might know that, but it's
- 35:32Speaker 9: the not knowing. It's the not knowing that can get you.
- 35:35Speaker 9: Because then, of course, you're telling your family and friends,
- 35:38Speaker 9: I've got a call back, I think I've got it,
- 35:39Speaker 9: talking it up. Next thing you know, that ad's on TV,
- 35:43Speaker 9: you're not on it, and you've been absolutely humiliated again.
- 35:47Speaker 4: I don't know about again. This will be the first time. Well,
- 35:50Speaker 4: can we– okay, well, how about this?
- 35:55Speaker 5: I think you should just write them an email, Jason,
- 35:57Speaker 5: and say Keezy's out.
- 35:58Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Because you can't handle the.
- 35:59Speaker 3: Stress of it all.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Well, no, if you're going to open your emails, then
- 36:00Speaker 4: check the freaking email.
- 36:02Speaker 3: Keezy, can I give you some advice here as a
- 36:04Speaker 3: long-time actor? Sure. Let it go, mate.
- 36:06Speaker 7: Okay.
- 36:11Speaker 4: Have you, in your guys' experience, how do you guys
- 36:14Speaker 4: deal with not getting roles?
- 36:16Speaker 3: What? I couldn't tell you.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Oh.
- 36:20Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 36:23Speaker 8: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Bloody oats. Bathurst or the NRL Grand Final, you decide,
- 36:30Speaker 3: New Zealand. Two great prizes. Two great prizes.
- 36:34Speaker 5: Bloody amazing options here for you fellas. You can't go wrong, Keezy.
- 36:38Speaker 3: Let's go to the phone lines.
- 36:40Speaker 4: Totally, Mogi.
- 36:40Speaker 5: Keezy.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Huh?
- 36:42Speaker 5: Can't go wrong, man.
- 36:42Speaker 3: G'day, Nico, you mad bastard. How's life?
- 36:45Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm good, Jase.
- 36:47Speaker 6: How are you?
- 36:47Speaker 5: Yeah, good, thanks. You're a mad dog, Nico.
- 36:49Speaker 3: How was your Monday, Nico?
- 36:51Speaker 5: I'm the maddest. The maddest dog.
- 36:54Speaker 4: How was your Monday, man?
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah, no, all good, man.
- 36:58Speaker 5: But it's a bit tricky here in the Waka though,
- 36:59Speaker 5: but I'm on my way home, so all is good.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Yeah, good on you, mate. What do you do for
- 37:03Speaker 3: a crust, Nico?
- 37:05Speaker 4: I'm a project manager for a civil construction project.
- 37:11Speaker 3: We get quite a few project managers.
- 37:13Speaker 5: On the show. We do, don't we, actually? A lot
- 37:14Speaker 5: of project managers.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Bloody good stuff. So what's your preference there, Nico? The
- 37:20Speaker 3: NRL grand final or Bathurst?
- 37:23Speaker 5: It'd have to be the NRL grand final, mate. This
- 37:26Speaker 5: guy gets it.
- 37:27Speaker 4: Hey, Nico, are you going to try and go to
- 37:29Speaker 4: the game this weekend, man?
- 37:31Speaker 5: Yeah, trying to get tickets tomorrow, mate.
- 37:32Speaker 3: I'll be at Fastlinger, that's for sure.
- 37:34Speaker 4: Yeah, same here.
- 37:35Speaker 5: I'll have to have a crack. Yeah, cheers, guys.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Good on you, man.
- 37:38Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks, fellas.
- 37:39Speaker 3: First thing in the morning, I'm going to get up
- 37:40Speaker 3: and get that sorted.
- 37:42Speaker 4: Cool, yeah, it's at lunchtime. Hey, Nico, you hold the
- 37:44Speaker 4: line there, mate. You're in the drawer, OK?
- 37:46Speaker 1: Yeah, cheers, fellas.
- 37:47Speaker 3: G'day, you mates.
- 37:48Speaker 5: G'day, yeah.
- 37:49Speaker 3: G'day, Mike, you mad bastard. How's life? Yeah, g'day, fellas.
- 37:52Speaker 3: How we going? Yeah, good, thanks, mate. What do you
- 37:55Speaker 3: do for a crust, Mike? I'm a painter. Oh, yeah.
- 37:58Speaker 5: Backbone.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Backbone.
- 38:01Speaker 4: We're talking like, you know, house painter or car painter or? Oh, house.
- 38:05Speaker 1: You could have a go at a car, but I
- 38:06Speaker 1: don't know how it would turn out.
- 38:07Speaker 5: No good with brushes, eh, man?
- 38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Good on you, Mike.
- 38:12Speaker 9: That's still backbone. Would you choose Bathurst or the NRL
- 38:14Speaker 9: Grand Final, mate?
- 38:15Speaker 2: Oh, is that even a question?
- 38:17Speaker 3: Up the wires.
- 38:18Speaker 5: Thank you, man. Yeah, good on you. Thank you. Someone
- 38:20Speaker 5: had to say it.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, jeez, yes. Oh, fire out. Good on you, Mike,
- 38:25Speaker 3: here in the draw.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Puck Samuel will sort you out.
- 38:27Speaker 3: No worries. Good on you, mate. Okay. Yeah. Actually, we
- 38:32Speaker 3: haven't talked about that game. We'll do that after six o'clock. Okay.
- 38:35Speaker 4: What game's that?
- 38:36Speaker 3: The Was. Oh, yeah. The Manly. And also the All Blacks.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Another doozy of a test, Nish.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Are you suggesting we do a bit of sport chat
- 38:44Speaker 4: after six?
- 38:44Speaker 3: I think so, Keezy.
- 38:46Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah.
- 38:46Speaker 9: Oh, a big shout out, by the way, to boyship.co.nz
- 38:49Speaker 9: for putting these prizes together. The NRL package is sold out.
- 38:53Speaker 9: Yeah forget about it Forget about it It's over The
- 38:55Speaker 9: only way to get it Is through us However there
- 38:57Speaker 9: are still Bathurst packages available If you do want to
- 38:59Speaker 9: go BoysTrip.co.nz Fellas Bloody good.
- 39:03Speaker 8: Mate Welcome back, you massive backbones.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Hope your Monday night's going along very nicely indeed. You're
- 39:16Speaker 3: listening to The Big Show, incidentally, brought to you by Reburger.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Serving good times with good food. Dine in or take
- 39:22Speaker 4: away Reburger today. Ah, that's really quite yummy.
- 39:25Speaker 7: It is.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Tisn't it. Tisn't it. You've had your dinner. What did
- 39:30Speaker 3: you have there, mate? Looked like some sort of noodle concoction.
- 39:33Speaker 5: I'll be honest with you, man. It was either noodles.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 39:36Speaker 5: It was leftovers.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yeah, it looked like leftovers.
- 39:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it was leftovers.
- 39:40Speaker 6: Yeah, yum.
- 39:41Speaker 5: It was yum. Now it's all gone, Keezy.
- 39:43Speaker 3: Yeah, it's all gone.
- 39:44Speaker 5: Okay, you can forget about it, man. You're not having any.
- 39:47Speaker 5: You've already had your filth today. What have you had?
- 39:51Speaker 3: Hot pot.
- 39:51Speaker 5: Hot pot, exactly. For lunch. Shock and bastard.
- 39:54Speaker 4: That's all G, eh, Jase?
- 39:55Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 39:56Speaker 3: What's for dinner, though? Ragu.
- 40:00Speaker 4: My wife made a ragu last night. A beef ragu?
- 40:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 4: In the slow cooker. And the idea behind it was
- 40:06Speaker 4: we could have it for dinner tonight as well. Because
- 40:07Speaker 4: when you slow cook something like that, you can put
- 40:08Speaker 4: it back in the slow cooker the second day and it.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Tastes even better. Was it any good on day one?
- 40:13Speaker 4: Yes, it was very, very, very nice.
- 40:14Speaker 5: What did you have it with?
- 40:16Speaker 4: I like this fresh, thick pasta.
- 40:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 5: Thick ribbons. Yeah, no, that's another one.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Broccolini. Yeah, I think it was something like that. Broccolini
- 40:24Speaker 4: and something else.
- 40:25Speaker 5: Oh, you wouldn't have been happy with a broccolini, would you?
- 40:27Speaker 4: I love broccolini.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, even when you're hung.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Yeah. Wow. Because it makes you feel.
- 40:31Speaker 4: Like you're doing something good.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Chuck the old broccolini in the air fryer. Beautiful.
- 40:36Speaker 4: Chuck it in the old bin. We did it in
- 40:39Speaker 4: the pan with garlic and pepper.
- 40:40Speaker 7: Okay.
- 40:42Speaker 6: Okay.
- 40:44Speaker 5: Jase.
- 40:45Speaker 3: Yes.
- 40:45Speaker 4: What are you having for dinner tonight, man?
- 40:47Speaker 3: Some sort of falafel salad-y, wrap-y thing.
- 40:51Speaker 5: Are you even going to go home, man?
- 40:53Speaker 6: Oh, no, man.
- 40:54Speaker 5: That's shocking. If Keezy was having that, you'd be fuming.
- 40:56Speaker 3: Might just buy a pie on the way home or something.
- 40:59Speaker 4: Stuff it in your gob. Nah, falafel wraps are yum, man.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't mind them, actually. Bit of mint sauce.
- 41:04Speaker 3: Not mint sauce, but the sort of yogurty minty thing.
- 41:06Speaker 5: Yogurty burger there.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Yeah, a bit of chilli sauce. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's
- 41:10Speaker 3: all good. Hey, coming up, a bit of sport chat.
- 41:11Speaker 3: But in the meantime, here's a bit of Metallica for you.
- 41:14Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at four on Radio Hauraki.
- 41:20Speaker 3: Queens of the Stone Age there on the Radio Hauraki
- 41:23Speaker 3: Big Show this Monday evening. The time is 12 minutes
- 41:26Speaker 3: past six o'clock. Fellas, let's talk sport.
- 41:40Speaker 5: That's the noise you make when you're watching sport.
- 41:42Speaker 3: Yeah, man.
- 41:43Speaker 5: Certainly when you're talking about it there, fellas. I guess
- 41:45Speaker 5: the obvious place to start is with the Waz. They
- 41:48Speaker 5: were up first there, managed to defeat the Seagulls, 31
- 41:52Speaker 5: points to 30. She was a bit of a nail-biter there,
- 41:55Speaker 5: a bit of a... Interesting one, Jase.
- 41:57Speaker 3: They....
- 41:59Speaker 5: Over the last couple of weeks, it seems like the
- 42:01Speaker 5: wire's been worked out in the sense that you don't
- 42:04Speaker 5: want to go anywhere near their forward, Pat, because they'll
- 42:06Speaker 5: smash you to bits.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 42:08Speaker 5: And so the team's last couple of weeks have decided, well,
- 42:11Speaker 5: let's chuck the ball wide early and go around. And
- 42:15Speaker 5: that has worked an absolute treat. So I think you'll find,
- 42:18Speaker 5: particularly in this game coming up against the Dolphins this
- 42:21Speaker 5: Saturday evening, that there's going to be some real rush
- 42:24Speaker 5: defence from the Warriors, and I think they'll be putting
- 42:26Speaker 5: pressure on the ref there not to call them offside.
- 42:28Speaker 5: It was a thoroughly enjoyable game, but a really tense one,
- 42:31Speaker 5: and of course all of us wanted them to really
- 42:33Speaker 5: smash the Seagulls to give us the best possible chance
- 42:37Speaker 5: of winning the minor premiership. But as it turned out,
- 42:39Speaker 5: we won by one, and Penrith were playing West Tigers
- 42:43Speaker 5: and absolutely smashed them to bits. So that was the
- 42:46Speaker 5: end of that, but thoroughly enjoyable, but now the real
- 42:48Speaker 5: work starts, Keezy.
- 42:49Speaker 8: Woo!
- 42:50Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Yes, sirree, Bob.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Great game. Quickly, before we chat, All Blacks, on the
- 42:55Speaker 4: Saturday as well, on the MPC, the Bay of Plenty
- 42:58Speaker 4: Steamers were hosting Manawa 2. And it was a day,
- 43:01Speaker 4: a 50-year anniversary of the very first MPC season. And
- 43:05Speaker 4: the Bay of Plenty Steamers won it, and my mum's
- 43:08Speaker 4: brother was the first five.
- 43:09Speaker 5: Wow.
- 43:09Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 43:10Speaker 4: And so they got everyone back together.
- 43:13Speaker 9: He came from the East Coast and came down for
- 43:14Speaker 9: this big special occasion, was welcomed and stuff.
- 43:17Speaker 4: And then they got pumped.
- 43:18Speaker 3: 29-2.
- 43:20Speaker 4: 29-12 by a mutter.
- 43:21Speaker 3: Or two, yeah.
- 43:22Speaker 5: 29-12, that's all right. You can live with that.
- 43:24Speaker 4: No, that was like, nah.
- 43:26Speaker 5: 45-12, no good.
- 43:27Speaker 3: That's kind of respectable.
- 43:29Speaker 4: 50-year anniversary, though. I was like, oh, surely the boys
- 43:31Speaker 4: will get up. Nah, damn it.
- 43:33Speaker 3: Hey, then the All Blacks, of course, fellas. My God,
- 43:37Speaker 3: what a test series it's been. You know, South Africa,
- 43:43Speaker 3: rightfully number one.
- 43:44Speaker 5: In the world. Thank you.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Powerful, strong... Very impressive side. You know, my instinct is
- 43:53Speaker 3: that we are a side on the rise and that
- 43:57Speaker 3: by the time the World Cup comes around, I reckon
- 44:01Speaker 3: we're going to be in a pretty good shape. And maybe,
- 44:04Speaker 3: just maybe, the Springboks will be on a slight decline.
- 44:07Speaker 5: Or they might be even better.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Or they might be even better.
- 44:10Speaker 5: We don't know.
- 44:11Speaker 3: But seriously, what a brilliant series. Just such good rugby
- 44:15Speaker 3: to watch.
- 44:15Speaker 5: It was. It was really good. Of all the games,
- 44:18Speaker 5: I'm only assuming that the ref that they had there
- 44:21Speaker 5: was that Georgian fella. Yes. Because I enjoyed the first
- 44:24Speaker 5: two games because, by and large, the ref tried to
- 44:26Speaker 5: stay out of it. By the time the second half
- 44:28Speaker 5: of this one rolled around, mate, he couldn't get it
- 44:30Speaker 5: out of his gob.
- 44:31Speaker 3: No. Non-stop.
- 44:33Speaker 5: And so you sort of have to succeed despite the referee.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 44:36Speaker 5: There was one example there which I thought was brilliant
- 44:39Speaker 5: where we made a break. One of our players made
- 44:42Speaker 5: a break, but he ended up getting isolated. It was
- 44:43Speaker 5: so often the way. They got tackled. Two of the
- 44:47Speaker 5: South African players came through. Both of them stood over
- 44:50Speaker 5: the ball and were sort of looking at the ref like.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Am I allowed to?
- 44:53Speaker 7: Can we?
- 44:53Speaker 3: Yes, do we?
- 44:54Speaker 5: And that's kind of the problem with rugby is you've
- 44:57Speaker 5: got two of the best players in the world playing
- 44:59Speaker 5: at the absolute top of their game. and they've got
- 45:02Speaker 5: absolutely no idea what the rules are at the breakdown.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:06Speaker 5: That is pretty shocking. But it was a great game.
- 45:09Speaker 5: Thoroughly enjoyed it. Too much whistle in the second half.
- 45:12Speaker 5: They are a better side than us at the moment,
- 45:14Speaker 5: but we've come along in leaps and bounds since last year.
- 45:17Speaker 3: Weirdly, to the States now we go. It is so
- 45:22Speaker 3: random and stupid, but it's obviously a money-making venture. I've
- 45:25Speaker 3: got to say, I felt for Leroy Carter, missing that tackle.
- 45:29Speaker 5: He'll be better for it.
- 45:30Speaker 3: He will be, and he's one of those players that
- 45:31Speaker 3: gives 150%, you can tell, and he was absolutely gutted.
- 45:37Speaker 4: It does suck that they're going to the States, but
- 45:40Speaker 4: they do have to grow the game. I mean, that's
- 45:41Speaker 4: the big thing with rugby union, right? Well, what they're
- 45:43Speaker 4: trying to grow is the revenue. So it earns 50%
- 45:46Speaker 4: more money from going to the U.S. than it does
- 45:48Speaker 4: by keeping the game. I don't know how many people
- 45:50Speaker 4: are going to pick up a rugby ball over in
- 45:52Speaker 4: Maryland in the U.S. Growing the game, I don't know
- 45:56Speaker 4: about that.
- 45:57Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll see.
- 45:57Speaker 3: We'll see. It's great stuff, though, fellas. Great stuff.
- 46:01Speaker 8: The Hodaki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy. Tune
- 46:04Speaker 8: in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hodaki.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Yes, indeed, the Pixies there on the Hodaki Big Show
- 46:10Speaker 3: this Monday evening. Fellas, I know we're feeling a bit
- 46:14Speaker 3: weary on it being a Monday and all that jazz,
- 46:17Speaker 3: but hey, let's give out some advice.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Be pretty nips 69 at gmail.com.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Get in touch with the fellas.
- 46:30Speaker 9: Please do get in touch if you're after some advice
- 46:32Speaker 9: of any kind, specifically the genuine advice kind.
- 46:36Speaker 6: Yeah, man.
- 46:37Speaker 4: A lot of people sending, like, jokey ones.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Yeah, no, don't do that, man. Don't waste my time.
- 46:41Speaker 4: But, like, jokey ones that are just filthy and we
- 46:43Speaker 4: can't actually do anything with.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Yes.
- 46:45Speaker 4: So we like real questions, and if we read it
- 46:47Speaker 4: on the show, you get a Reburger voucher.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Well, like, for example, Keezy, at the moment I've got
- 46:51Speaker 3: really itchy pubes. What's that about? Should I get it
- 46:54Speaker 3: checked out? That's not possible.
- 46:56Speaker 4: The pubes are at G or the pubis area?
- 46:58Speaker 3: Well, that's sort of where my pubes are.
- 47:01Speaker 4: The pubis?
- 47:02Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:04Speaker 4: Yeah, email into this email address.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'll ignore it. Yeah, okay, cool.
- 47:08Speaker 4: G'day, Fels. This is Anonymous.
- 47:11Speaker 9: I'm in a happy relationship but have had a conundrum.
- 47:14Speaker 9: I had a very steamy dream about a new work colleague.
- 47:17Speaker 9: I didn't think much of it, but now every time
- 47:19Speaker 9: I'm chatting to her, it comes to the forefront of
- 47:21Speaker 9: my mind.
- 47:22Speaker 4: I try to act normal.
- 47:24Speaker 9: I try to act normal, but the more I'm thinking
- 47:28Speaker 9: act normal, the weirder I feel like I am acting.
- 47:31Speaker 9: I know Mike and Keezy have had a similar situation,
- 47:33Speaker 9: and I just want to know how to move past
- 47:35Speaker 9: things I've seen in my head and go back to
- 47:36Speaker 9: two normal working adults.
- 47:38Speaker 5: Cheers.
- 47:39Speaker 3: I think he's referring to your erotic dream about Keezy there.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Remember that dream, Mogey?
- 47:47Speaker 5: Not really.
- 47:47Speaker 4: And then you were like, sort it out, Keezy.
- 47:49Speaker 3: Yeah, come on, man.
- 47:51Speaker 5: Same thing with pugs.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Yeah, with your missus.
- 47:53Speaker 4: So how do you move past it?
- 47:55Speaker 5: Well, I don't know if you do, Keezy.
- 47:57Speaker 3: No, you indulge it.
- 47:58Speaker 5: It's quite interesting what old mate says there, Anonymous, is it?
- 48:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 5: That every time you talk to each other, it's at
- 48:05Speaker 5: the forefront of your mind. Well, that's been that way
- 48:07Speaker 5: for probably three months now, with you and me. I'm
- 48:10Speaker 5: looking at you now, talking about this email that Anonymous
- 48:12Speaker 5: has sent through, but in my mind's eye, Right. Filth.
- 48:15Speaker 5: You've just been a filthy bitch.
- 48:16Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:17Speaker 5: I'm loving it. So I'm two screening at the moment.
- 48:19Speaker 5: I've got this one thing that's happening in reality and
- 48:22Speaker 5: one thing that's happening in my mind's eye. Fantasy.
- 48:25Speaker 4: And how do you keep it? Because I don't feel
- 48:26Speaker 4: like you're acting weird around me.
- 48:27Speaker 5: No, I know. You just get used to it. It
- 48:29Speaker 5: just becomes your reality, your normality. So this guy's freaking
- 48:34Speaker 5: out a little bit. But I think the one thing
- 48:36Speaker 5: that's really helped me was bringing it up. when I
- 48:38Speaker 5: raised it with you.
- 48:39Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah.
- 48:40Speaker 5: It sort of brought out into the open that bad
- 48:41Speaker 5: behaviour of yours. Yeah. It brought it out into the
- 48:44Speaker 5: open and then sort of normalised it. Everybody knew that
- 48:45Speaker 5: you were a shocking bastard. We were able to move on.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:48Speaker 5: So if he does the same thing with her.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 48:50Speaker 5: Hey, I've had this dream about you. Shocking bastard.
- 48:54Speaker 4: You were terrible.
- 48:55Speaker 5: If you could knock it off, I'd appreciate it.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Funnily enough, my wife had a dream last night. Yeah.
- 49:02Speaker 3: And she never has these dreams. That I'd been having
- 49:06Speaker 3: an affair. Yeah. for like longer than we'd been together.
- 49:11Speaker 5: Yes.
- 49:12Speaker 3: And that with this woman that used to be at
- 49:15Speaker 3: the comedy club.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Oh, really? and not justine.
- 49:19Speaker 3: But not only that she had died your missus no
- 49:25Speaker 3: the woman who i was having the affair with i'm
- 49:27Speaker 3: not gonna name her okay And so my wife, when
- 49:31Speaker 3: I told her, was kind of really upset about it,
- 49:35Speaker 3: but also didn't want to really have a go at
- 49:37Speaker 3: me because.
- 49:38Speaker 4: Your mistress had just died.
- 49:39Speaker 3: My mistress had died.
- 49:40Speaker 5: So is this in the dream you were telling her
- 49:43Speaker 5: that this woman had died, or in reality, when she
- 49:46Speaker 5: hit you up with it, you said, oh, she's dead?
- 49:49Speaker 3: No, I think she knew that she had died, but
- 49:52Speaker 3: also that I'd had an affair for over 30 years
- 49:55Speaker 3: with her.
- 49:55Speaker 5: Right.
- 49:56Speaker 4: Very specific dream, Jase.
- 49:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it was. It was very specific.
- 50:00Speaker 4: And was the person a real person?
- 50:01Speaker 3: Yes.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Would I potentially know her?
- 50:03Speaker 5: No.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Of her? No. And funnily enough, this person's name at
- 50:07Speaker 3: her job today, she was taking the person she was
- 50:10Speaker 3: with to what she thought was this old cafe called
- 50:13Speaker 3: Alan Pete's in Parnell there. And she turned up to
- 50:19Speaker 3: where she thought, or where Alan Peets used to be.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Used to be, yeah.
- 50:23Speaker 3: And the name of the new place was the name
- 50:26Speaker 3: of the woman who she said I was having the
- 50:28Speaker 3: affair with.
- 50:29Speaker 4: That renamed it to Jace's Mistress, essentially.
- 50:32Speaker 3: Her name, yes.
- 50:33Speaker 1: Wow.
- 50:34Speaker 3: Wow.
- 50:34Speaker 4: That's weird.
- 50:35Speaker 3: That is weird, isn't it?
- 50:37Speaker 4: I'm sorry to hear that, man.
- 50:38Speaker 3: You guys are obviously close.
- 50:39Speaker 5: Busted after all these years.
- 50:41Speaker 3: And my wife never has those sort of dreams. I
- 50:43Speaker 3: used to all the time. Yeah, because you're a shocking,
- 50:46Speaker 3: you know. I am a shocking bastard. Yeah, yeah.
- 50:49Speaker 4: So the advice is just out with it, let her know,
- 50:52Speaker 4: and just move on.
- 50:54Speaker 3: I would indulge it. I'd go right there in your
- 50:57Speaker 3: private time. Oh, you're walking.
- 50:59Speaker 5: I'd be like, hello.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Hello.
- 51:01Speaker 5: Had a dream about you last night.
- 51:03Speaker 3: Well, you remember, Moby.
- 51:05Speaker 5: What was it about? Can't say, but just know.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Remember when we were at the beer fest? Yes. And
- 51:12Speaker 3: that woman came up to us.
- 51:13Speaker 5: That's right.
- 51:13Speaker 3: And she gave me a hug and she said, I
- 51:15Speaker 3: had a dirty dream about you.
- 51:16Speaker 5: I had a dirty dream about you.
- 51:18Speaker 3: You should have seen Jase absolutely all over it.
- 51:21Speaker 4: And you were like, my old mistress just died. I'm
- 51:23Speaker 4: in the market for another one.
- 51:25Speaker 8: The Hauraki Big Show with Jase, Mike and Keezy.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Tune in weekdays at 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 51:38Speaker 3: Well, there you go, you mad bastards. That's the big
- 51:40Speaker 3: show done and dusted this Monday evening. What's the disclaimer
- 51:47Speaker 3: clip today there, Keezy?
- 51:49Speaker 9: The disclaimer clip, which is a bonus podcast we do,
- 51:52Speaker 9: is entitled Hot Pot, and it comes out.
- 51:54Speaker 4: At 7.30 tonight. How far away is Hot Pot from here?
- 51:59Speaker 4: How far, like physically?
- 52:01Speaker 3: To walk it?
- 52:02Speaker 4: 500 metres?
- 52:04Speaker 3: Oh, 10-minute walk?
- 52:05Speaker 4: 10-minute walk.
- 52:06Speaker 2: Down the hill?
- 52:06Speaker 6: 10-minute walk.
- 52:07Speaker 4: I just did that walk.
- 52:09Speaker 5: Yes.
- 52:09Speaker 4: From hot pot to here.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Oh, yes.
- 52:11Speaker 9: And it felt like I was climbing Everest. I'm so
- 52:13Speaker 9: full of hot pot right now and regret that I'm
- 52:15Speaker 9: just like.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Mogi. There you go, eh? What? Your plans for the night, please.
- 52:26Speaker 3: You've just had your dinner.
- 52:28Speaker 5: I have, actually. I'm all tickety-boo there. So go home,
- 52:31Speaker 5: hang around with the family there.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 52:34Speaker 5: Might watch something on the telly.
- 52:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 52:36Speaker 5: And might read a book.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:39Speaker 5: I might not.
- 52:40Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 52:41Speaker 5: Don't know, man. Just a Monday night, man. I mean, really,
- 52:44Speaker 5: what kind of an answer can you get?
- 52:45Speaker 3: Yeah, true. You know. Yeah, I see.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Jase, what are you up to tonight?
- 52:53Speaker 3: Well, it's interesting because my wife had.
- 52:57Speaker 4: Don't start the shit.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Tell us what you're up to. No, I'm telling you
- 53:00Speaker 3: what I'm up to, man.
- 53:00Speaker 5: If you give him a second.
- 53:02Speaker 3: God. My wife was meant to be having a book
- 53:07Speaker 3: club dinner with her mates. But then she let my daughter....
- 53:13Speaker 5: What's a book?
- 53:14Speaker 3: Oh, God. That's just an excuse to get together with
- 53:16Speaker 3: the ladies. And she said, oh.
- 53:20Speaker 5: You're the same with a bunch of old gossips. Is
- 53:22Speaker 5: that right?
- 53:24Speaker 3: Was I? Um... And then she realised, of course, she went, oh, bugger,
- 53:30Speaker 3: that's right, I've got that bloody thing on tonight.
- 53:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:34Speaker 3: But she lent my daughter our car and she's taking
- 53:38Speaker 3: her boyfriend back out west.
- 53:40Speaker 5: Chuck him on a bus.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Well, don't get me started, Maggie.
- 53:43Speaker 5: Well, she hadn't.
- 53:45Speaker 3: And so she was like, oh, no, that's an absolute nightmare.
- 53:49Speaker 4: That is a nightmare.
- 53:50Speaker 5: I can't believe it.
- 53:51Speaker 3: So I was like, well, what I could do.
- 53:54Speaker 5: I tell you what, why don't you save it for
- 53:56Speaker 5: the show tomorrow, man? I've got to go now. So
- 53:59Speaker 5: I'll see you later.
- 54:01Speaker 3: But having said that. See you, Mogey. Having said that.
- 54:04Speaker 3: See you, Mogey. Have a good night, man. See you, man. So, Keezy,
- 54:08Speaker 3: but the problem we do have now is because I
- 54:11Speaker 3: haven't organised.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Anything for dinner. I'm going to watch Outrageous Fortune.
- 54:16Speaker 3: And it's always this scenario.
- 54:18Speaker 4: And then I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow at 4pm, Jase?
- 54:23Speaker 3: What's that, man? Bye.
