Brian Wolfe, Blue Jays Reliever, Passes at 45 | MLB News
A heartbreaking loss in baseball: Brian Wolfe, former Blue Jays reliever and nine-season Japanese League veteran, dies at 45 after a “torturous battle.” Drafted by the Twins, he thrived in Toronto’s bullpen from 2007–2009, including a memorable moment when Alex Rodriguez yelled “mine!” — leading to a run against him. He retired in 2018, leaving behind his wife and three daughters. His passing follows that of fellow Blue Jays reliever Duane Ward — another somber chapter in the game’s recent losses.
