- 0:01Speaker 1: Now, 710WOR presents The Mark Simone Show. Hey, it's a Monday.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's a cold day out there. It's definitely autumn. It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: cold out there. We got a lot to get to today.
- 0:16Speaker 1: France is on fire. Paris is burning. We'll get to that.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We'll get to President Trump. We'll get to Katie Sicario.
- 0:22Speaker 1: We'll get to Bruce Blakeman. We'll get to Crazy Mom
- 0:26Speaker 1: Donnie and his latest capers. We'll get to the... Pretty
- 0:30Speaker 1: amazing dinner Thursday night at the White House. We'll go
- 0:33Speaker 1: over that. So Paris is on fire. It is burning everywhere.
- 0:40Speaker 1: The riots in France. Now, this is an annual event
- 0:44Speaker 1: in Paris, not riots in France. Protests. It's an annual event. Protests.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Workers go on strike. Students protest. Happens every year. This
- 0:54Speaker 1: is different. This is rioting. This is looting. This is
- 0:57Speaker 1: out of control. Now, what made it different? Well, the
- 1:01Speaker 1: country has been infiltrated. They opened up their borders to
- 1:05Speaker 1: the third world, and they came pouring in. So it's
- 1:08Speaker 1: not the usual crazy French with their annual protest. Well,
- 1:14Speaker 1: it was originally, but then everybody else jumped in. This
- 1:18Speaker 1: is like an Islamist takedown of the French government, of
- 1:22Speaker 1: French institutions. Again, they opened the borders. They let so
- 1:27Speaker 1: many people in. They've been overrun by people who want
- 1:30Speaker 1: to undo Paris, undo France, take it all down. France
- 1:35Speaker 1: was in a state of shock on Sunday, especially Paris,
- 1:41Speaker 1: other cities. They just walked through the streets, and the
- 1:44Speaker 1: streets were just lined with shattered storefronts, charred cars, burned
- 1:49Speaker 1: out government buildings. They destroyed a lot of stuff in
- 1:52Speaker 1: Paris that They just destroyed the Hermes, the Louis Vuitton,
- 1:58Speaker 1: the Gucci. Actually, a lot of husbands are not upset
- 2:01Speaker 1: about that. They kind of keep the wives from spending
- 2:06Speaker 1: any money this week. But some stores, Christian Dior and others,
- 2:11Speaker 1: spent a fortune hiring their own armies to protect their stores.
- 2:16Speaker 1: The arrest, last time I looked, was 2,400. It might
- 2:18Speaker 1: be almost 3,000 now. It's totally out of control. Limoges
- 2:26Speaker 1: in the south of France, known for its porcelain and
- 2:29Speaker 1: all that, was largely destroyed. Nighttime arson attacks. 500 police
- 2:35Speaker 1: were injured. I mean, go through the whole country. Marseille,
- 2:37Speaker 1: also in the south, broke into local government headquarters. Half
- 2:41Speaker 1: a million demonstrators marched on Sunday. Now, they claim they're
- 2:45Speaker 1: protesting the rising cost of things, the price of gas.
- 2:49Speaker 1: It's not about that. This, again, you get the annual
- 2:52Speaker 1: student protests, the annual worker strikes. But underneath that, these
- 2:57Speaker 1: rioters came in. They're mostly Islamic radicals. They came in.
- 3:02Speaker 1: The vandalism isn't even, I mean, some looters came in
- 3:05Speaker 1: and robbed all these stores. But most of the vandalism
- 3:08Speaker 1: is just to destroy everything. Europe is not responding enough
- 3:12Speaker 1: to this. The French government is not responding enough to this.
- 3:17Speaker 1: The European Parliament is voting for a resolution that condemned
- 3:20Speaker 1: the Muslim Brotherhood and its actions. They're trying to do
- 3:25Speaker 1: something about it. Senator Ted Cruz, he said, we are
- 3:28Speaker 1: now witnessing Islamists setting Paris ablaze because France committed cultural suicide.
- 3:35Speaker 1: We have to watch what's happening in France as a
- 3:37Speaker 1: warning sign. Now, a lot of this, it is Islamic,
- 3:41Speaker 1: Islamist radicals. A lot of this is anti-Semitic, especially in Marseille.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It was noted that they went mostly after Jewish-owned stores. Macron,
- 3:52Speaker 1: obviously not handling this well. In fact, he's getting a
- 3:54Speaker 1: lot of flack because Friday night, He went to the
- 3:56Speaker 1: Celine Dion concert in the middle of all this. Just awful.
- 4:02Speaker 1: He's trying to scramble his way out of this. He
- 4:05Speaker 1: tried to blame President Trump for the price of gas.
- 4:08Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with anything. Nobody's buying it.
- 4:11Speaker 1: The election is coming up. Now, he's term-limited out, but
- 4:16Speaker 1: the right-wing party looks very strong now as a result
- 4:20Speaker 1: of this because people are going to vote for law
- 4:23Speaker 1: and order. Here in this country over the weekend, we
- 4:27Speaker 1: had the No Kings protest. I know. There were over
- 4:34Speaker 1: 3,000 No Kings protests around the country. 300 organizations. They're
- 4:40Speaker 1: saying 3 million people showed up for the No Kings protest.
- 4:45Speaker 1: For those of you in the No Kings protest, I
- 4:48Speaker 1: know you're getting a lot of attention with this No
- 4:50Speaker 1: Kings protest. You're getting a lot of turnout. You're getting
- 4:53Speaker 1: a lot of coverage with your no Kings, but I
- 4:56Speaker 1: don't know if you know this. Nobody knows what the
- 4:59Speaker 1: hell you're talking about. No Kings. Who are you talking about?
- 5:02Speaker 1: King Charles? Who are you talking about? We've had, uh,
- 5:06Speaker 1: we already had the no Kings protest. It was called
- 5:08Speaker 1: the revolutionary war. We got rid of King George. That
- 5:12Speaker 1: was the end of it. That's the last King. No Kings.
- 5:15Speaker 1: They got signs. No Kings. Nobody knows what you're talking about. but, uh,
- 5:22Speaker 1: A couple of things about the No Kings. One, it
- 5:25Speaker 1: was financed by all the left-wing organizations. They were financed
- 5:31Speaker 1: by MoveOn.org, the American Federation of Teachers, the ACLU, real
- 5:35Speaker 1: left-wing organizations financing this. Now, the No Kings organizers were
- 5:44Speaker 1: trying to make it very clear that this is not
- 5:46Speaker 1: a political rally, that it's not partisan. Pfft. But the
- 5:51Speaker 1: reason they were pushing that narrative is all these donors,
- 5:56Speaker 1: these big organizations, are supposed to be nonprofit charity groups,
- 6:01Speaker 1: and you're not supposed to be giving charity money to
- 6:04Speaker 1: partisan organizations. So they kept making it clear, the organizers,
- 6:09Speaker 1: that this was not a political rally. There was nothing political.
- 6:13Speaker 1: It was totally nonpartisan. But... If you were there and
- 6:18Speaker 1: you looked at all the signs, they were all anti-Trump.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They were all Trump signs. They were all anti-MAGA. It
- 6:24Speaker 1: was clearly nothing but partisan. So they kept lying about
- 6:29Speaker 1: every which way that it was nonpartisan. The real reason
- 6:33Speaker 1: for this event, though, was to get people out to
- 6:38Speaker 1: early vote. Like with President Trump running around the country
- 6:41Speaker 1: doing all these rallies. The real reason is every time
- 6:44Speaker 1: they get to a rally, everybody that's there They'll get 5,000,
- 6:49Speaker 1: 10,000 people, but they'll turn away 20,000, 30,000 people. But
- 6:53Speaker 1: in the process, the 30,000, 40,000 people, they'll get all
- 6:57Speaker 1: their emails, phone numbers, contact information, and then they'll make
- 7:01Speaker 1: sure they get them out to the polls, get them
- 7:03Speaker 1: to early vote. That's the real reason for the rallies,
- 7:09Speaker 1: to push turnout. And that's the other thing with this
- 7:11Speaker 1: No Kings thing. It was to push turnout. President Trump,
- 7:15Speaker 1: speaking of rallies, going to Kansas today. Every day, besides
- 7:19Speaker 1: working a full day in the White House, in the afternoon,
- 7:22Speaker 1: he gets on the plane and goes somewhere to another state,
- 7:25Speaker 1: does a massive rally for a couple hours, then comes back.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It's a long day. Today it's Kansas. Shouldn't have to
- 7:31Speaker 1: be Kansas. Kansas hasn't had a Democrat win for Congress
- 7:36Speaker 1: or for Senate in almost 90 years, since the 1930s.
- 7:41Speaker 1: So they shouldn't have to be fighting in Kansas. Kansas
- 7:44Speaker 1: or Texas, but they are. It's, you know, it's midterms.
- 7:49Speaker 1: And in every presidency, every president in the midterms loses
- 7:54Speaker 1: the Congress. It's always the case, like 98% of the time.
- 7:58Speaker 1: In the midterms, you'll lose the Congress. It's just always
- 8:00Speaker 1: that way. President Trump, as a guy who always defies
- 8:05Speaker 1: the odds, 2016, 2024, completely defied the odds. And he
- 8:12Speaker 1: could do it again this time. He's always a guy
- 8:13Speaker 1: who can pull a rabbit out of his hat. So
- 8:15Speaker 1: we'll see. He's going to work his ass off for
- 8:18Speaker 1: the next 15 days. That's right. It's only 15 days
- 8:22Speaker 1: until the election. So we'll see what happens. It's about
- 8:26Speaker 1: driving turnout, driving momentum. Right now, Republicans look very good
- 8:30Speaker 1: for the Senate. The House could go either way. Too
- 8:33Speaker 1: close to call. But it's going to be a turnout election.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Whichever side gets the most turnout is going to win
- 8:40Speaker 1: this election. Thursday night, there was a dinner at the
- 8:44Speaker 1: White House, a little private dinner with Bill Maher. The
- 8:48Speaker 1: president having dinner, private dinner with Bill Maher, with Stephen A.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Smith and with Kid Rock. He invited Bill Maher and
- 9:00Speaker 1: the second time and he told Bill Maher, bring whatever
- 9:03Speaker 1: crazy left wing friend you want to bring. And Bill
- 9:06Speaker 1: Maher suggested they bring Stephen A. Smith. So the two
- 9:09Speaker 1: of them came to Washington for this private little dinner.
- 9:12Speaker 1: They didn't know that Kid Rock would be there. The
- 9:14Speaker 1: president invited him. And it was a long, long dinner.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Stephen A. Smith didn't know what to expect. Bill Maher
- 9:22Speaker 1: had been there before. But Stephen A. Smith said he
- 9:25Speaker 1: didn't know what to expect. He thought it'd be, you know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: the president of the United States, it'd be 20 minutes,
- 9:28Speaker 1: a half hour. It was four and a half hours.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Four and a half hours. Couple hours of dinner. And
- 9:36Speaker 1: then the president took him on a tour of everything,
- 9:38Speaker 1: the Oval Office, the White House, the colonnade with the portraits.
- 9:42Speaker 1: He took him into the new ballroom. That's right, the
- 9:45Speaker 1: new ballroom. The structure is half there already. Some of
- 9:49Speaker 1: the walls are up and then the floor, everything is
- 9:51Speaker 1: in there. So he showed him the new ballroom. He
- 9:54Speaker 1: took him out to show him the beautiful new helipad.
- 9:57Speaker 1: He showed him the beautiful new rose gardens. and then
- 10:01Speaker 1: the dinner and it was a few hours and Stephen A.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Smith said he was there to push for HBCU I
- 10:09Speaker 1: forget what that stands for it's about black colleges being
- 10:11Speaker 1: funded good cause he was there to push for that
- 10:15Speaker 1: and he was engaged in talking about that about black
- 10:17Speaker 1: unemployment that sort of stuff and said the president Listened
- 10:20Speaker 1: to everything he had to say. Told him he would
- 10:23Speaker 1: have something done about all this stuff. He would look
- 10:25Speaker 1: into it. And he will. He will. Now, Bill Maher
- 10:29Speaker 1: apparently went at him for two hours over a lot
- 10:32Speaker 1: of stuff, including the Iran war. I mean, really, really,
- 10:36Speaker 1: really let him have it about the Iran war. Told
- 10:38Speaker 1: him everything he thinks. And the president listened. So that
- 10:42Speaker 1: doesn't mean he's going to follow Bill Maher. But he's
- 10:44Speaker 1: a good listener, despite the myth they try to create.
- 10:46Speaker 1: He's a phenomenal listener. But Marwin added at great length,
- 10:51Speaker 1: the president listening. People pointed out the Bill Maher lecture
- 10:56Speaker 1: on Iran was pretty rough at times on the president,
- 10:58Speaker 1: but he listened carefully. So, hey, by the way, speaking
- 11:02Speaker 1: of that No Kings thing, they got their Instagram shut down.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Their Instagram page was yanked right in the middle of
- 11:07Speaker 1: the protest. A spokesperson for No Kings said the main
- 11:11Speaker 1: accounts for the coalition were frozen, pulled down. administrators lost
- 11:17Speaker 1: access at the peak. Jeez, that sounds like something Democrats
- 11:19Speaker 1: would do. Well, I mean, that's exactly what happened to
- 11:23Speaker 1: President Trump. And we didn't hear a peep out of
- 11:26Speaker 1: the No Kings people. Remember, President Trump was banned from Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, everything.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Everything he had was shut down. His bank accounts were
- 11:34Speaker 1: taken away. Remember that? Katie Zachariah, Zachariah. Well, I told
- 11:42Speaker 1: you on Friday she'd probably survive. I was wrong about that, boy.
- 11:45Speaker 1: But the problem is, if you go back and watch
- 11:51Speaker 1: the press conference, if you just read the transcript, it's
- 11:54Speaker 1: not bad. She's pretty good. Nothing wrong with anything she
- 11:58Speaker 1: said if you read the transcript. The problem is her voice.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It's not authoritative. You've got to have a good voice
- 12:04Speaker 1: to be the spokesman. You can't. Her voice is a
- 12:09Speaker 1: little shrill. It's a little childlike. Good morning. Good morning.
- 12:16Speaker 1: I am so honored to work for President Trump and
- 12:20Speaker 1: the American people. And now we have a booming economy.
- 12:23Speaker 1: You see, you've got to have the right voice. It's
- 12:27Speaker 1: got to sound authoritative. You know that Corrine Jean-Pierre was
- 12:31Speaker 1: the worst press secretary we've ever seen. Absolutely horrible. Total imbecile.
- 12:35Speaker 1: But her voice was nice. She had a good voice.
- 12:38Speaker 1: So it didn't sound as bad as it was. But Zachariah,
- 12:41Speaker 1: everything she's saying is fine. It's just the voice. A
- 12:43Speaker 1: great relationship. with Venezuela. In addition to that, we will be,
- 12:49Speaker 1: we will be doing, yeah, there's 54. She's fine, except
- 12:53Speaker 1: for the voice. And the other problem was the saying
- 12:57Speaker 1: she was a lawyer. She'd never passed the bar. She
- 13:00Speaker 1: did legal work in law firms. She worked on major
- 13:02Speaker 1: legal projects in law firms, but I guess that's, she's
- 13:07Speaker 1: working as a lawyer there. You can, you can work
- 13:09Speaker 1: as a lawyer without passing the bar in a law firm.
- 13:12Speaker 1: They have to have a, a barred attorney sign off
- 13:15Speaker 1: on everything. But it's not a big episode. It's not
- 13:20Speaker 1: a big deal. She was let go. That happens. President
- 13:24Speaker 1: Trump's first term, he had a press secretary who bombed.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Remember Stephanie Grisham? She was his third White House press secretary.
- 13:31Speaker 1: She was after Sarah Huckabee Sanders. She wasn't good. She
- 13:35Speaker 1: lasted seven months, but she wasn't good. Also in the
- 13:38Speaker 1: first term, Trump picked Anthony Scaramucci, who was considered the
- 13:41Speaker 1: worst ever, fired after 11 days. Uh, Sean Spicer, he
- 13:47Speaker 1: wasn't good as far as what Trump liked. He didn't
- 13:50Speaker 1: have the Trump look, you know, he, he had kind
- 13:53Speaker 1: of a high voice, but he spoke authoritatively. Uh, the
- 13:56Speaker 1: problem was, uh, this sounds crazy, but he always wore
- 14:00Speaker 1: these light gray suits, which didn't look good. And at first, uh,
- 14:03Speaker 1: press conference afterwards, president Trump turned to everybody goes, doesn't
- 14:07Speaker 1: this guy own a dark suit? So that was the problem.
- 14:10Speaker 1: So we've had this problem before with the press secretaries. Uh,
- 14:15Speaker 1: And remember, in the first term, there was at times
- 14:19Speaker 1: some very sloppy vetting. Very sloppy. Scaramucci should have been
- 14:24Speaker 1: vetted better. Everybody should have been vetted much more thoroughly.
- 14:28Speaker 1: The president got sloppy on that. That's the thing when
- 14:30Speaker 1: you're a billionaire entrepreneur and you've created an empire all
- 14:34Speaker 1: over the world. You're like a swashbuckler. You just go
- 14:37Speaker 1: with your gut, go with your instinct. Most of the time,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you'll be right. Some of the time, you'll be wrong.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And that's the way they live. But you're not supposed
- 14:44Speaker 1: to do that in the White House. So he went
- 14:47Speaker 1: back to the sloppy vetting. She looks great, Katie Zachariah.
- 14:52Speaker 1: That's the look he wants, beautiful, blonde, executive-looking, blonde, hot-looking.
- 14:58Speaker 1: That's the look he wanted. But you've got to vet them.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You've got to vet them much better than that. So
- 15:02Speaker 1: he got sloppy on this. Who's going to be the
- 15:04Speaker 1: next White House press secretary? There's no list yet. Everybody
- 15:08Speaker 1: publishes these short lists, but he's got no list in
- 15:11Speaker 1: his head. He's not even thinking about it. The number
- 15:14Speaker 1: two all along, even under Levitt, was Anna Kelly. She's
- 15:17Speaker 1: pretty good. She'll handle the briefings. Stephen Miller's wife, Katie Miller,
- 15:23Speaker 1: can handle some of them. She was communications director for
- 15:27Speaker 1: Doge and other things. She was Vice President Pence's press secretary.
- 15:32Speaker 1: So look for Katie Miller. Stories everywhere that he asked
- 15:36Speaker 1: Maria Bartiromo. But she turned him down. I don't know
- 15:39Speaker 1: if that's true. It's not confirmed by Maria. And I
- 15:45Speaker 1: could see why she'd turn it down. It's the worst
- 15:47Speaker 1: job in the world. The job is 7 a.m. You've
- 15:50Speaker 1: got to be there by 7 a.m. You don't get
- 15:52Speaker 1: out until 7 p.m. And then when you're home, they
- 15:56Speaker 1: call you every hour because anything happens anywhere. They've got
- 16:00Speaker 1: to brief you so you're up to speed. So anything, anything.
- 16:05Speaker 1: You get home, 8 o'clock. you just want to relax.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Now the phone rings. They're briefing you on the latest
- 16:11Speaker 1: riot in Paris. Now, uh, it's nine o'clock. They call
- 16:14Speaker 1: you again. There was a bombing somewhere. Uh, 10 o'clock.
- 16:18Speaker 1: It's a Linsky attack to Trump. Now they've got to
- 16:20Speaker 1: brief you. This goes on all night, all weekend. You
- 16:22Speaker 1: get woken up in the middle of the night. It's
- 16:24Speaker 1: a horrible job. You don't get much money. And, uh,
- 16:28Speaker 1: you know, if you're Maria Bartiromo and you're making 10
- 16:30Speaker 1: million a year, uh, for you, 150,000 is not going
- 16:33Speaker 1: to be a lot of money. And, uh, It's a
- 16:37Speaker 1: lot of fun in broadcasting. It's fun. You come in
- 16:40Speaker 1: a couple hours early. You've got a huge staff that
- 16:42Speaker 1: takes care of everything. You do the show. Everybody tells
- 16:46Speaker 1: you how great you are. You go home. You're done
- 16:48Speaker 1: in a few hours. This is easy work compared to
- 16:52Speaker 1: a press secretary. Brutal, brutal job. Not to mention you've
- 16:56Speaker 1: got to fight with all the cabinet members. You've got
- 16:58Speaker 1: to fight with Trump. It's intense. If you're unknown, it's
- 17:03Speaker 1: a great job because when you leave, You can make
- 17:06Speaker 1: a fortune, a fortune. All these ex-press secretaries have gone
- 17:11Speaker 1: on to make huge money, consulting, lobbying, all sorts of stuff. Hey,
- 17:15Speaker 1: we've got a lot more to get to. Mamdani, another
- 17:18Speaker 1: big diss. He really, really dissed another ethnic group. We'll
- 17:21Speaker 1: get to that and more coming up next on 710WOR.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Mark Simone here. Three hours every day. It's three hours now.
- 17:28Speaker 1: It's 9 to noon every day here on 710WOR.
