Transcript
- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:07Speaker 1: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer Newhart, and today
- 0:11Speaker 1: we're joined by Jannis Brody, Chili, Randall, cal and Seth. Now,
- 0:16Speaker 1: this is normally a ten round quiz show with questions
- 0:19Speaker 1: from meat eaters for verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation,
- 0:22Speaker 1: and cooking. But today's show is a little bit different.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This is our annual family Feud Christmas episode of Meat
- 0:29Speaker 1: Eater Trivia. This is year four now that we've done this,
- 0:33Speaker 1: real crowd pleaser, isn't it well? For the stat of
- 0:36Speaker 1: the week, I asked our audience if they want a
- 0:38Speaker 1: normal episode of Trivia or the meat Eater family Feud
- 0:42Speaker 1: for Christmas. Ninety two percent of listeners said they would
- 0:45Speaker 1: prefer the family feud.
- 0:47Speaker 2: So a it is how many did you get?
- 0:51Speaker 1: One hundred and fifty folks?
- 0:52Speaker 2: Nice?
- 0:53Speaker 1: That is who answered this.
- 0:54Speaker 3: You gotta show that stat to Steve because I recall
- 0:57Speaker 3: after doing it once, he said he'd never do it.
- 1:00Speaker 1: And that's why I had to survey our audience because
- 1:03Speaker 1: I was second guessing if this was a good idea
- 1:05Speaker 1: or not.
- 1:06Speaker 4: He peaked up when I said we're having trivia after
- 1:08Speaker 4: the podcast, and then when I told him it was
- 1:10Speaker 4: family feud, his face.
- 1:12Speaker 1: Just yeah ashen he became unavailable at that point. Now
- 1:17Speaker 1: here's how this is going to work. Our crew is
- 1:19Speaker 1: split into two teams. Each round will start with a
- 1:22Speaker 1: player from each team facing off to determine who gets
- 1:25Speaker 1: control of the board. During the faceoff, whoever provides the
- 1:29Speaker 1: highest ranking answer, we'll get to choose if their team
- 1:32Speaker 1: passes or plays, will do a practice round in just
- 1:34Speaker 1: a second.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Now.
- 1:36Speaker 1: During main play, each team member will provide answers they
- 1:39Speaker 1: think are on the board. If you get one wrong,
- 1:42Speaker 1: you'll hear this. If you get one right, you'll hear this.
- 1:48Speaker 1: If you get three strikes, then the other team gets
- 1:51Speaker 1: a chance to steal. When a steal happens, the entire
- 1:54Speaker 1: team gets to come together to decide on an answer,
- 1:57Speaker 1: which their captain will provide. Are four rounds, with the
- 2:01Speaker 1: point values being doubled in round three and tripled in
- 2:04Speaker 1: round four. The team with the most points at the end,
- 2:06Speaker 1: we'll get to choose where a five hundred dollars conservation
- 2:09Speaker 1: donation goes. Then we will play fast money for a
- 2:12Speaker 1: chance to double the donation to one thousand dollars for
- 2:16Speaker 1: that grand prize. Now, these questions were written by me
- 2:19Speaker 1: and answered by one hundred listeners. Each question has themes
- 2:23Speaker 1: of meat eater and Christmas. So we are going to
- 2:26Speaker 1: remind everyone of how this goes with a practice round.
- 2:29Speaker 1: We are going to start with Jannis versus Randall, who
- 2:32Speaker 1: are the captains of their team?
- 2:34Speaker 4: And we're just doing that.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You guys are going to buzz in with your fists.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Everyone in here is going to need to watch to
- 2:40Speaker 1: see who buzz is in first.
- 2:41Speaker 4: Trying to get the mechanics.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Are you ready? I surveyed one hundred people. Top six
- 2:47Speaker 1: answers are on the board. Name an animal part Carin
- 2:50Speaker 1: would hang on her tree? Randal uh penis.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Penis sorry? What do you I mean?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Number two number answer was vacuum.
- 3:10Speaker 1: So now what happens is, y'all you get a chance
- 3:13Speaker 1: to provide the number one answer. If you get the
- 3:15Speaker 1: number one answer, you will choose if your family plays
- 3:18Speaker 1: or passes. If you get anything lower than that, Randal
- 3:21Speaker 1: will have control. So what is your answer? Name an
- 3:24Speaker 1: animal park? Karin would hang on her tree.
- 3:27Speaker 6: I don't think he should get vacuum for saying.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Let's go with a tail, show me tail number five
- 3:39Speaker 2: answer Randall.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That would mean you get to choose if your family
- 3:42Speaker 1: is going to pass or play. They're going to play. Okay,
- 3:46Speaker 1: so now we would be up to cal. This is
- 3:47Speaker 1: just a practice round, so everyone gets familiar col Name
- 3:50Speaker 1: an animal park. Karin would hang on her tree. Squirrel
- 3:54Speaker 1: foot Show me squirrel feet number one answer third Twenty
- 4:00Speaker 1: nine people said that seth, your team is rolling. Name

- 4:36Speaker 1: and the sixth answer are still on the board. Name
- 4:38Speaker 1: an animal park. Corin would hang on her tree.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Elk ivories show me ivories. I don't think okay, third.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Strike, So now would be over to your family. Three
- 4:58Speaker 1: of you get to discuss a lot what you think
- 5:00Speaker 1: it could be. You just have to provide one of
- 5:02Speaker 1: those answers and you steal the points. So Chili brodi Jannis.
- 5:07Speaker 6: I'm just gonna say bones, bones, I think with if
- 5:12Speaker 6: he gets vaculum for saying penis. If we say bones
- 5:15Speaker 6: and antlers would be up there, we would get that. Yes, Randall,
- 5:22Speaker 6: we're gonna say bones, show me bones.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Uh, now, antlers is up there as number three, Phil
- 5:32Speaker 1: and I would have to do some discussions, just a
- 5:34Speaker 1: practice round. So number three was antlers, show us number four,
- 5:38Speaker 1: number four, testicles, number six, feathers, sos, penis, antlers, testicles,
- 5:47Speaker 1: tails and feathers. That's what Krin would hang on her tree.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Does everyone understand how the game she is? Okay, everyone
- 5:56Speaker 1: is up to speed. Now. Traditionally in family feud, we
- 5:58Speaker 1: have one player who injured us is their family. So
- 6:01Speaker 1: let's get to know the teams. Randall, tell us who
- 6:04Speaker 1: you brought with you today.

- 7:25Speaker 1: All right, by yourself?
- 7:28Speaker 7: Do you introduce yourself?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Do I need to?

- 38:05Speaker 1: What animals would be in Clay's Nativity scene? You said donkey,
- 38:10Speaker 1: mule tried to mule for donkey? Survey says zero nobody.
- 38:17Speaker 2: How many people said donkey? Okay?
- 38:20Speaker 1: And if Santa gave you an ELK tag? What state
- 38:22Speaker 1: would you want it in? You said, Wyoming survey says.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Twelve.
- 38:28Speaker 1: So you got one hundred and twelve points to start
- 38:31Speaker 1: your team. You did that means will need to come
- 38:36Speaker 1: up with eighty eight points. Can someone go fetch Giannis
- 38:39Speaker 1: for us? Chili randall close to the door.
- 38:42Speaker 4: Yeah, but I'm saying my timer.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Okay, he's now going to get Janis. Jiannis has a
- 38:48Speaker 1: little bit of work to do. Nobody is going to
- 38:50Speaker 1: give him any hints when he enters the room. He's
- 38:54Speaker 1: coming in blind and Yanness will have twenty seconds to
- 38:56Speaker 1: see if you guys can make that donation one thousand
- 39:00Speaker 1: dollars instead of five hundred dollars. Did you find him.
- 39:04Speaker 4: An exercise bike?
- 39:06Speaker 1: Okay?
- 39:06Speaker 2: It was bad.
- 39:07Speaker 1: It was I knew it wasn't good when you had
- 39:09Speaker 1: to yell his name when you walked out of his study.
- 39:11Speaker 5: Since a donkey is half of a mule.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Stood fan bike?
- 39:18Speaker 1: Okay, Johnny doesn't understand the fan bike. How do you
- 39:22Speaker 1: think Brody? Did?
- 39:24Speaker 2: I think he did great?
- 39:25Speaker 4: Of course he did great.
- 39:26Speaker 1: Brody carried his weight. He got one hundred twelve points
- 39:29Speaker 1: for you.
- 39:30Speaker 2: How many well you get?
- 39:32Speaker 5: Didn't? That was only four? They took one away from.
- 39:34Speaker 1: You need to get two hundred points. That means you
- 39:36Speaker 1: need to come up with eighty eight more points to
- 39:39Speaker 1: double that donation for the putellus.
- 39:41Speaker 4: And he can't say the same thing that I will.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Tell him to try again if he says the same answer.
- 39:47Speaker 4: It's the way this works. I have a fifteen second timer. Here,
- 39:50Speaker 4: he gets twenty, and he gets he it's twenty Okay.
- 39:53Speaker 4: I would have heard that direction if I hadn't been
- 39:56Speaker 4: forced to go out there and find your ticket.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Are you interesting for me or against me? Randall?
- 40:02Speaker 4: I guess I'm rooting for you at this point. There's
- 40:06Speaker 4: no way I can win. Then I'm going to root
- 40:11Speaker 4: for conservation.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Okay, So you get twenty seconds.
- 40:14Speaker 4: And I'll hit this when he finishes reading the question.
- 40:17Speaker 4: That's still the same this round, okay, exactly do.
- 40:20Speaker 2: We already know where the conservation donation is going?
- 40:22Speaker 1: Oh? You guys will decide that you could throw all
- 40:24Speaker 1: one thousand dollars to somebody. You could split it up
- 40:27Speaker 1: into two five hundred dollars donations, but first you have
- 40:30Speaker 1: to win fast money and get eighty eight more.
- 40:32Speaker 6: And you're just gonna ask me questions. And I just
- 40:34Speaker 6: need to blurt out, uh. Answers the best, but.
- 40:37Speaker 1: I may have to tell you to try again if
- 40:39Speaker 1: you repeat one of brothers.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Can I tell him one of the rules that I
- 40:42Speaker 3: wasn't told beforehand.
- 40:44Speaker 5: You can't say and then change.
- 40:46Speaker 1: You can't come back to your parents be like I
- 40:48Speaker 1: came up with a better answer, definitive.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Are you ready con camp?
- 40:57Speaker 1: Your twenty second starts after I finish is reading the
- 41:00Speaker 1: first question, good luck, thank you? Name a type of
- 41:04Speaker 1: wild game you'd serve it Christmas? Try again, Turkey who
- 41:08Speaker 1: from the meat Eater crew thinks they're a wise man? Brody,
- 41:12Speaker 1: name something a deer hunter wants for Christmas?
- 41:15Speaker 2: Ammo?
- 41:16Speaker 1: What animals would be in Clay's Nativity scene?
- 41:19Speaker 2: Mules?
- 41:20Speaker 1: If Santa gave you an ELK tag, what state would
- 41:22Speaker 1: you want it in?
- 41:22Speaker 2: Iowa?
- 41:33Speaker 11: That one.
- 41:36Speaker 2: That was that was a clean rock.
- 41:39Speaker 1: It did well right up said, I'm sure I said elk.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Maybe somebody said elk.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Actually a whole lifetime to get.
- 41:48Speaker 7: That to Cornfield man.
- 41:53Speaker 1: So, uh well, there's still a chance Phil is going
- 41:55Speaker 1: to enter in your answers over.
- 41:58Speaker 12: There, you guys, we'll see whether you can come up
- 42:02Speaker 12: with the two hundred points you're gonna have to do
- 42:05Speaker 12: it in four though, because I'll tell you now, oh
- 42:08Speaker 12: is not on the list.
- 42:10Speaker 1: What was your answer to the first one? Name a
- 42:11Speaker 1: type of wild game you'd serve it? Chris Turkey said, okay,
- 42:15Speaker 1: well just a second, we will see Phill's board. Find
- 42:18Speaker 1: out what you're doing with that money. Now, if it
- 42:20Speaker 1: is one thousand dollars, what do you have in mind?
- 42:23Speaker 2: Well, I'd had to confer with my family.
- 42:26Speaker 4: You talk about it over there to change based on
- 42:30Speaker 4: how much money it is.
- 42:31Speaker 6: No, well, if we out or something, I don't know.
- 42:35Speaker 6: I just want to, you know, include my family and.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Ready, okay, we'll discuss afterwards. Then see what see what
- 42:40Speaker 1: you have to donate, oh Man. First question, name a
- 42:44Speaker 1: type of wild game you'd serve at Christmas? First you
- 42:47Speaker 1: said goose, but we had to repeat that because it's
- 42:49Speaker 1: also what Brody said, and he went with Turkey.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Wow. Survey says twelve people said Turkey.
- 43:01Speaker 4: No, that's good. That's good.
- 43:02Speaker 1: We're up to the next one.
- 43:04Speaker 2: What's the highest number one answer?
- 43:07Speaker 1: I take some guesses. Let's see what Venison was number one.
- 43:11Speaker 1: There were six answers there, so you guys got venison, goose,
- 43:14Speaker 1: and Turkey. What are the other? Three was number six.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Duck was number five. That no, you're missing. Number four.
- 43:23Speaker 1: Number four was pheasant. Number one answer was Venison, who
- 43:29Speaker 1: from the meat Eater crew thinks they're a wise man?
- 43:32Speaker 1: You said, Brody.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Survey says thirty two people.
- 43:37Speaker 5: That makes up we were lad answer.
- 43:39Speaker 2: There, Brody.
- 43:40Speaker 1: Steve was the number one answer. Brody was number two.
- 43:43Speaker 1: There were three more answers we had answered.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Let's just point out that this is a question about
- 43:49Speaker 4: conceitedness or arrogance, not about intelligence.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Okay, Randall was number three, right, Eighteen people said Randall.
- 43:59Speaker 1: That leaves answer. There's number four. Number five. Do you
- 44:01Speaker 1: have some guesses?
- 44:04Speaker 2: Nate Janis.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Nate was not on there. Yannis was not on Cal
- 44:09Speaker 1: was number four, uh no, and I was number five.
- 44:13Speaker 1: So forty people said Steve, it's okay, you're good.
- 44:18Speaker 5: Though, honest, we needed eighty eight.
- 44:19Speaker 1: You got forty four so far, Steve, number one.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I know one of my answers is worth zero.
- 44:25Speaker 4: So you need forty four points.
- 44:27Speaker 1: The next two questions, name something a deer hunter wants
- 44:31Speaker 1: for Christmas? You said, Ammo Survey says twenty people. That
- 44:38Speaker 1: was the number two answer. Number one was gun or Bo.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Number two was Ammo. What are the other guests for?
- 44:45Speaker 1: Name something a deer hunter wants to question? Cam Camo
- 44:48Speaker 1: was number four? Not on there?
- 44:53Speaker 5: Stand?
- 44:55Speaker 2: Tree stand was on there?
- 44:57Speaker 1: That was number The pickup truck the other one playing
- 45:04Speaker 1: number three?
- 45:05Speaker 4: Who has gotten land for Christmas?
- 45:08Speaker 1: Trail camera was number five and hand warmers were number seven?
- 45:11Speaker 1: Hands Okay, we are down to what is the final one?
- 45:15Speaker 1: Because he said, Iowa, I mean for the last I
- 45:18Speaker 1: think you.
- 45:18Speaker 4: Got you.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Guys need twenty four points. I get to two hundred.
- 45:25Speaker 1: What animals would be in Clayzed Nativity? See this is
- 45:29Speaker 1: I'm going to number one? You said mule. Survey says
- 45:38Speaker 1: you guys the victory you went over the two andre
- 45:42Speaker 1: Mule was number one?
- 45:44Speaker 2: Really said Arizona? Had I heard Elk instead of Arizona.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Let's close out clays Nativity? See what other animals would be.
- 45:54Speaker 5: In the squirrel?
- 45:55Speaker 1: Bears, squirrel number three, Bears was number two, Big raccoons
- 46:00Speaker 1: was number four. Panther, we're just missing the fifth answered.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Deer was number five, So mules number one?
- 46:07Speaker 2: Fifty two? People said that bear was number two. Dirty
- 46:11Speaker 2: one and mule were an answer? I said zero I tried.
- 46:19Speaker 5: To, they would try.
- 46:21Speaker 4: I loved it.
- 46:22Speaker 1: We took it away from So the last question, if
- 46:24Speaker 1: Santa gave you an ELK tag, what state would you
- 46:26Speaker 1: want it in?
- 46:27Speaker 2: You said Iowa. Survey says zero.
- 46:30Speaker 1: Zero people said Iowa. You wanted to change your answer
- 46:34Speaker 1: to Arizona. Arizona number one answer. Twenty people said.
- 46:37Speaker 2: That was number two. It's it was tied for number.
- 46:40Speaker 1: One with another state, and then there were three more
- 46:43Speaker 1: over that New Mexico was number four. Seventeen people said
- 46:47Speaker 1: that Montana was the other number one. Twenty people said
- 46:50Speaker 1: that were missing Pennsylvania, Colorado number three eighteen. Pennsylvania not
- 46:56Speaker 1: on the list. We're looking for that last state, not Nevada,
- 47:00Speaker 1: not Utah, Kentucky. Thirteen people said Idaho. That closes out
- 47:06Speaker 1: the board. Montana, Arizona, New Mexico, Idaho.
- 47:12Speaker 2: People want to hunt there.
- 47:13Speaker 1: You go, Well done, Yanni, well done, Brodie, well done, Chili.
- 47:17Speaker 1: You guys earned the one thousand dollars donation today.
- 47:20Speaker 6: What's it going to be you guys got anything even
- 47:24Speaker 6: wanting to donate to you lately?
- 47:26Speaker 5: I hadn't really thought about it. Or do we want
- 47:28Speaker 5: to do one or two?
- 47:29Speaker 6: Or I think just one to make it rain over there?
- 47:36Speaker 1: Where are you gonna make it rain at?
- 47:39Speaker 2: Is that so funny?
- 47:40Speaker 1: It's a good way to put it for certain conservation
- 47:43Speaker 1: groups that might be you know, like what they bring
- 47:46Speaker 1: in in a month, so that would I'm not prepared
- 47:49Speaker 1: for this either.
- 47:51Speaker 2: First thing I think about la I.
- 47:54Speaker 4: No, don't do that. It's Christmas.
- 47:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't want to give ourselves like it's like.
- 48:02Speaker 4: Giving yourself a vacuum cleaner.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Come on, that's true. A thousand dollars a vacuum cleaner.
- 48:08Speaker 5: What do you think you got a local one? You like?
- 48:13Speaker 4: Do you know this incoming ceo of any national ones?
- 48:17Speaker 2: Bh?
- 48:18Speaker 4: But don't do that. That's it's getting too much.
- 48:21Speaker 5: People need to buy that calendar.
- 48:23Speaker 4: To support pH A. Yeah, that's a good point.
- 48:25Speaker 2: What calendar?
- 48:27Speaker 3: Where have you been for the last a bowl?
- 48:31Speaker 2: Trucks by meteor? The media.
- 48:35Speaker 10: Calendar?
- 48:36Speaker 2: You can get it stored out though media.
- 48:37Speaker 4: That is a fun way to support conservation and enjoy
- 48:41Speaker 4: some funny images all year long.
- 48:43Speaker 2: Oh you know the one I'd like to give it to.
- 48:45Speaker 2: It's gonna takes a little bit of googling though.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Okay, But there's a there's a coalition cal you tell
- 48:50Speaker 6: me if you like these guys or not United Conservation Clubs. No,
- 48:53Speaker 6: they're around our zone right here, and they're the group
- 48:57Speaker 6: that is real interested in making sure that.
- 48:59Speaker 2: We do equal use.
- 49:01Speaker 6: What am I googling across all of our across the
- 49:04Speaker 6: public lands? Right so that doesn't get too much? No,
- 49:08Speaker 6: no road valley land trust.
- 49:10Speaker 4: No, No, it seems like a real stretch.
- 49:13Speaker 7: Yeah, that doesn't really work.
- 49:15Speaker 2: Why not, Well, you kind of need to know the
- 49:19Speaker 2: name so far Google.
- 49:23Speaker 8: You're you're saying like there's an idea that you regardless
- 49:27Speaker 8: of what's on the landscape, it has to have the
- 49:29Speaker 8: same amount of use as the neighboring.
- 49:31Speaker 4: I don't think. I don't think we should dig into
- 49:34Speaker 4: the philosophical underpinnings of a group whose name we don't
- 49:37Speaker 4: know find.
- 49:40Speaker 1: I have nothing to google over here. I'm trying trying
- 49:42Speaker 1: to help you.
- 49:43Speaker 2: We can't. We can't just take a pause and find
- 49:44Speaker 2: it and then come back.
- 49:45Speaker 1: You you donate to that one in the future when
- 49:47Speaker 1: you win a different game of trivia.
- 49:49Speaker 4: But we'll cut all this out anyway. It kind of
- 49:52Speaker 4: makes us look bad.
- 49:53Speaker 2: Now, now that's fine. Group.
- 49:57Speaker 6: I excited about that group, you know, because one of
- 50:00Speaker 6: that fella that had their hat on told me about it.
- 50:02Speaker 6: I was like, man, we need more folks like that
- 50:05Speaker 6: coming to the table.
- 50:06Speaker 1: I'm not going to remember that.
- 50:07Speaker 6: They just want to make sure that all user groups
- 50:10Speaker 6: are represented well in a lot of these places. And
- 50:13Speaker 6: I'm sorry to them that I can't think.
- 50:15Speaker 1: You can still donate to them in the future. For now, though,
- 50:19Speaker 1: let's find a different home for that specific.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Or something like p L P W or t R C,
- 50:25Speaker 2: P d U p A.
- 50:28Speaker 7: Sorry, do those guys again?
- 50:31Speaker 5: Do them there? Montana Good Cause.
- 50:33Speaker 8: Public Land Water Access Association thousand dollars.
- 50:37Speaker 6: You're still keeping it local yah Cloud truck has their
- 50:41Speaker 6: plates on it too.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Un a good way to support them, The Public Land
- 50:46Speaker 1: Water Access Association one thousand dollars going their way from
- 50:50Speaker 1: meat Eater and the teles.
- 50:52Speaker 6: Fan And I'm sorry. If you're the CEO president of
- 50:55Speaker 6: the group that I'm trying to think of, please write
- 50:57Speaker 6: in and I promise next time, hopefully at some point
- 51:01Speaker 6: twenty twenty six, when I win again.
- 51:02Speaker 4: We'll hit you back on the first of the month. Yeah,
- 51:04Speaker 4: how's that there?
- 51:07Speaker 1: We go, well done. Another successful family feud episode in
- 51:12Speaker 1: the books, Yanni's family now four and zher.
- 51:15Speaker 6: We think it might be three and oh, but yeah,
- 51:18Speaker 6: I think you can probably go back in your notes
- 51:20Speaker 6: and find out who's one.
- 51:22Speaker 1: I figured out.
- 51:22Speaker 4: I'm not interested so much in that, alright.
- 51:25Speaker 1: See you back next year for more family fewer game
- 51:29Speaker 1: show where conservation always wins.
- 51:31Speaker 4: Thank Spencer.

- 51:38Speaker 5: Mellow tones.
- 51:39Speaker 11: He lays them questions down. He likes taking those two
- 51:48Speaker 11: and three year old bucks. It's an avid amateur lockow
