- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:15Speaker 1: Hockrell Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kayleie, and this is
- 0:18Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that I'd say, new day, a new week,
- 0:21Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day for you to become
- 0:23Speaker 1: the hot Grel energy you want to attract. Hello you guys,
- 0:26Speaker 1: Happy Wednesday, Welcome back to another episode. Today's episode is
- 0:30Speaker 1: going to be about obsessions, things that I'm currently obsessed
- 0:33Speaker 1: with for the spring season, either things that I've been
- 0:37Speaker 1: loving or things that I've been hating, because I feel
- 0:41Speaker 1: like I haven't done a podcast episode like this in
- 0:43Speaker 1: a very long time. I think I did an episode
- 0:45Speaker 1: like this maybe a year and a half ago, something similar,
- 0:48Speaker 1: where I kind of deinfluence you of things that I
- 0:52Speaker 1: may have tried, whether it's beauty products or wellness trends
- 0:55Speaker 1: that I've tried that some people might really hype up,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but in my opinion it didn't work for me or
- 1:01Speaker 1: I don't like it. So I thought I would be
- 1:03Speaker 1: like really honest here and give my honest feedback on
- 1:07Speaker 1: things that I've tried that I don't think is worth
- 1:09Speaker 1: your money or things that I've personally tried that I love.
- 1:13Speaker 1: In a door that I would buy again, or just
- 1:16Speaker 1: things again that I'm currently obsessed with that I've recently
- 1:19Speaker 1: either added into my routine or just things that I've
- 1:22Speaker 1: been doing for a long time that, like I swear by,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I really want to talk about, like this aphoor A
- 1:26Speaker 1: sale going on. So I feel like I have a
- 1:28Speaker 1: lot of like beauty faves and like makeup and skincare
- 1:31Speaker 1: faves that I want to share with you guys, along
- 1:32Speaker 1: with things that I've like recently tried throughout these past
- 1:35Speaker 1: few months. Because obviously I get sent a lot of
- 1:37Speaker 1: PR and I think some influencers are not always like
- 1:40Speaker 1: truthfully honest when it comes to like things being sent
- 1:43Speaker 1: in and like, don't get me wrong, I always appreciate
- 1:45Speaker 1: when I get PR and I love to try new things,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but I would rather tell you guys, like this is
- 1:50Speaker 1: not worth your money, don't go spend it, and not
- 1:52Speaker 1: like try and sell it on you guys, because it's
- 1:55Speaker 1: not worth the splurge in my opinion. So yeah, just
- 1:58Speaker 1: kind of like new things that I've gotten recently that
- 2:00Speaker 1: I've tried out that may have not worked for me,
- 2:02Speaker 1: it might work for you. So just be mindful that,
- 2:05Speaker 1: like if I say something that didn't work for me.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Don't comment saying like, oh my god, like, what are
- 2:09Speaker 1: you talking about? That's the best thing ever? Like that
- 2:11Speaker 1: is your own personal opinion, Like this is just my own,
- 2:14Speaker 1: raw and real, honest experiences of products that I've tried
- 2:18Speaker 1: or things that I've done in the wellness industry that
- 2:20Speaker 1: personally have worked for me or has not worked for me.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Before we get into today's episode, I do want to
- 2:25Speaker 1: just quickly talk about Coachella for a second. Even though
- 2:28Speaker 1: I was not at Coachella this year, I decided to
- 2:31Speaker 1: choose my mental health this year. And if you guys
- 2:34Speaker 1: actually follow me on YouTube, I did actually talk about
- 2:37Speaker 1: this in a YouTube blog I think in the Fall.
- 2:39Speaker 1: I think it was a Fall video and I think
- 2:42Speaker 1: it was when the Coachella lineup got released and I
- 2:45Speaker 1: was like super super disappointed because obviously Justin Bieber was going,
- 2:50Speaker 1: and I knew mentally before the Coachella lineup was going
- 2:53Speaker 1: to be released, I was like, Nope, I'm not going.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And then I saw Bieber as one of the headliners
- 2:58Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh my goodness, do I change mind?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Do I spend the money? And for those who don't know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: like Coachella is very expensive. The flights are not cheap,
- 3:05Speaker 1: the accommodations are not cheap. The festival passes are obviously
- 3:09Speaker 1: not cheap. When you're there, obviously you're spending money on
- 3:11Speaker 1: food and drinks. When you add it all up, it's
- 3:14Speaker 1: almost five thousand dollars. Like it's actually ridiculous, and so
- 3:18Speaker 1: I have paid in the past, We'll be honest about that,
- 3:21Speaker 1: but I really was not wanting to spend five thousand
- 3:24Speaker 1: dollars this year. I'm like, I do not see the point,
- 3:26Speaker 1: like unless a brand for work as a work opportunity,
- 3:29Speaker 1: because obviously my job involves like promoting brands and all that. Like,
- 3:33Speaker 1: if I was given the opportunity of a brand to
- 3:36Speaker 1: send me, I would consider it. And I'm going to
- 3:38Speaker 1: be truthfully honest here. I've been to Gochella twice. Did
- 3:41Speaker 1: I have a fun time. Absolutely? I think it was
- 3:44Speaker 1: such a cool time, But it was perfect for like
- 3:46Speaker 1: my time in my life, which would have been like
- 3:49Speaker 1: what two years ago, having fun whatever. I feel like
- 3:52Speaker 1: these past two years, I've changed a lot and I'm
- 3:55Speaker 1: just like not a festival person. I've realized that I
- 3:58Speaker 1: don't like to be in like big crowds. I get
- 4:00Speaker 1: a little anxious when it gets into that type of environment,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and I don't know, I didn't want to stay up
- 4:06Speaker 1: till like three am every single night. The thing about
- 4:08Speaker 1: Coachella is that there's after parties and whatever, like there's
- 4:11Speaker 1: just like a bunch of stuff going on, like events
- 4:13Speaker 1: that you could attend and all that, and I just
- 4:16Speaker 1: didn't want to be in bed by four, wake up
- 4:18Speaker 1: by eleven, and oh do it all again and get
- 4:21Speaker 1: ready do content like it just sounded mentally exhausting. And again,
- 4:26Speaker 1: don't get me wrong, if you've never gone to Coachella,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I highly recommend, like it's a fun experience. I just
- 4:30Speaker 1: don't know if I would ever do it again. Even
- 4:32Speaker 1: with Bieber being there my favorite artists of all time,
- 4:35Speaker 1: like literally grew up with that man. I'm sure most
- 4:37Speaker 1: of you could agree with that, but like he was
- 4:39Speaker 1: my favorite artist. I thought I was gonna marry him,
- 4:41Speaker 1: like literally diehard fan, and I still chose not to go.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I did actually get invited by a brand, which again
- 4:46Speaker 1: I kind of said to myself in the fall that
- 4:48Speaker 1: I was like, Okay, well, maybe if a brand invites me,
- 4:50Speaker 1: I would consider going. I straight up chose my mental
- 4:53Speaker 1: health overgoing to Bieberchella, which is wild because, like low
- 4:57Speaker 1: key in the moment, I was like, I kind of
- 4:59Speaker 1: regret missing bieber Chella, obviously because everyone's been talking about it.
- 5:02Speaker 1: His performance looked amazing. Obviously I love him, and so
- 5:06Speaker 1: it was so nice to see him back on stage
- 5:08Speaker 1: and just like see him so happy. But you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I really just didn't want to go to Coachella this year.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm just really not craving that festival vibe. I don't
- 5:17Speaker 1: know what it is. I just like am not gravitating
- 5:19Speaker 1: towards it. So I decided to not go, And I'm
- 5:21Speaker 1: honestly really happy with my decision, even though I really
- 5:25Speaker 1: only wanted to see biber. Like I feel like if
- 5:27Speaker 1: I went, I would go for literally one night and
- 5:29Speaker 1: that's it, and then I would have flew home on
- 5:30Speaker 1: the Sunday. But obviously, like that's not worth my time.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Like if I lived in California, it's a two hour drive,
- 5:35Speaker 1: it's a totally different situation. I feel like that's way
- 5:37Speaker 1: more normal if you live in the California area, But
- 5:40Speaker 1: for someone who lives nowhere close to California, it was
- 5:43Speaker 1: not worth a six hour flight to go see Biber
- 5:46Speaker 1: and then six hour flight back. So I'm just manifesting
- 5:50Speaker 1: that Bieber announces a tour at some point. I think
- 5:52Speaker 1: we can all agree that it'd be so cool to
- 5:54Speaker 1: see him go on tour again, even if it was
- 5:56Speaker 1: like a Taylor Swift era tour vibe, like doing all
- 5:59Speaker 1: of his different albums, Like I don't know, that would
- 6:01Speaker 1: be so freaking cool to see them in the concert again.
- 6:04Speaker 1: But you know, beabes, it wasn't worth the stress and
- 6:08Speaker 1: anxiety that I wanted to feel. And I do also
- 6:11Speaker 1: have like a lot of work stuff going on this
- 6:13Speaker 1: month that I just really couldn't manage with Coachella being
- 6:17Speaker 1: this past weekend. So I really just decided to choose
- 6:20Speaker 1: my mental health and I'm very proud of that decision. Anyways,
- 6:24Speaker 1: Besides Coachella, I feel like everyone's talking about Coachella on
- 6:26Speaker 1: my Instagram feed TikTok feed. I feel like that's all
- 6:28Speaker 1: I've been consuming lately, and I'm like, Okay, we need
- 6:30Speaker 1: to stop with this. But I've also been consuming a
- 6:33Speaker 1: lot of stuff about this before a sale, and like,
- 6:35Speaker 1: I thought it'd be cool to kind of do an
- 6:36Speaker 1: episode around like things that I love, but things that
- 6:38Speaker 1: I also don't love that I've tried from either pr gifting,
- 6:43Speaker 1: or things that I've purchased myself that like I just
- 6:45Speaker 1: didn't like or it didn't work for me. So I
- 6:47Speaker 1: thought we could talk a little bit about beauty fhaves
- 6:50Speaker 1: and beauty must haves along with like beauty things that
- 6:53Speaker 1: didn't work for me, along with like wellness obsessions that
- 6:57Speaker 1: I'm currently into right now, whether it's like active where brains, bands, supplements,
- 7:02Speaker 1: wellness trends in general, and things that I don't really
- 7:05Speaker 1: love that I've tried in the wellness industry that wasn't
- 7:08Speaker 1: worth my money, or just things that I personally just
- 7:11Speaker 1: don't really take or support, whatever the case may be. Okay,
- 7:14Speaker 1: so let's talk about my beauty must have faves obsessions,
- 7:19Speaker 1: specifically within these past few months of products that I've
- 7:21Speaker 1: been using daily that I'm literally obsessed with, would rebuy,
- 7:25Speaker 1: still reby to this day. If I ever get something
- 7:28Speaker 1: for free from a brand, I will use it and
- 7:30Speaker 1: then once I'm done with the product, I will literally
- 7:32Speaker 1: go to Sephora and just rebuy it. But obviously, like
- 7:34Speaker 1: I get sent new stuff from brands when they're trying
- 7:37Speaker 1: to promote stuff to influencers. So it's great that I
- 7:40Speaker 1: have the opportunity to kind of try new things, but
- 7:42Speaker 1: then I can at least tell you, guys if it's
- 7:44Speaker 1: really worth it or not. So let's start off with
- 7:46Speaker 1: one of my favorite brands. And I truly do think
- 7:48Speaker 1: this is one of my favorite brands. And I'm not
- 7:50Speaker 1: saying this because I'm a Beaber fan, but I love Road.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I really do think Hailey did such an amazing job
- 7:56Speaker 1: with the brand. I have loved anything that I've got
- 8:00Speaker 1: from them. I love their blushes, I love their lip liners.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I love her skin care line. Like her skincare line
- 8:07Speaker 1: is by far one of my favorite things I've ever tried,
- 8:09Speaker 1: and I have now been using it, I think for
- 8:11Speaker 1: almost two years, and I stand by that glazing milk.
- 8:15Speaker 1: That glazing milk is probably the best purchase you will
- 8:18Speaker 1: ever make. I think it's like forty eight dollars Canadian,
- 8:21Speaker 1: which is very affordable in my opinion for a skincare brand,
- 8:24Speaker 1: especially for a skincare brand that's being sold at Sephora.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And I use it with my makeup, so I mix
- 8:30Speaker 1: it in with my foundation. I use it just as
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know. The skincare product before I put my moisturizer on.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I have very dry skin, so I personally find the
- 8:38Speaker 1: glazing milk is very hydrating for someone who has very dry,
- 8:43Speaker 1: dry skin. So it's my rider die. I will make
- 8:46Speaker 1: sure to take it everywhere with me. I have a
- 8:48Speaker 1: travel size that way when I travel, I can take it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: It's by far my favorite skincare product that I literally
- 8:53Speaker 1: have in my entire skincare assortment. I also love this
- 8:57Speaker 1: is a recent obsession because I think she launched the
- 9:00Speaker 1: later last year. It was the Road facial mist. If
- 9:04Speaker 1: you want glowing skin, I'm not even over exaggerating that
- 9:07Speaker 1: mist is insane, Like I use that mist the first
- 9:10Speaker 1: thing into my skincare routine. When I wake up, I
- 9:12Speaker 1: spray the mist. I do the glazing milk, I do moisturizer,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I do an I cream, and then I do sunscreen.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But the facial mist is also really good for a
- 9:22Speaker 1: makeup topper. So whenever I'm done my makeup, I spray
- 9:25Speaker 1: the mist on my face and it gives me that
- 9:27Speaker 1: like glowy natural look I feel like. Sometimes when my
- 9:30Speaker 1: makeup looks too matt, I don't like that. But when
- 9:32Speaker 1: I spray this mist on. It gives hydration to my
- 9:35Speaker 1: skin and it looks like almost like my natural face,
- 9:38Speaker 1: like I haven't put in too much makeup on my face.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So those are two Road products that I stand by
- 9:43Speaker 1: and will repurchase again and again because I think it's
- 9:47Speaker 1: so worth the money. I also love her pocket blushes.
- 9:50Speaker 1: The shade I think it's tan lines obsessed with that one.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's like the perfect pinky undertone that gives more of
- 9:57Speaker 1: a sun kiss look, which I love the sun can
- 10:00Speaker 1: look kind of like a post beach tan vibe. I
- 10:03Speaker 1: also love Toasted Teddy, which is a bit more of
- 10:05Speaker 1: like a burnt red effect of a blush. I also
- 10:09Speaker 1: love her lipliners. I use the shade Lean Bend, and
- 10:13Speaker 1: I think the other one is twist really really good,
- 10:16Speaker 1: like neutral nude, kind of like a brownie pink undertone,
- 10:20Speaker 1: which is like my go to lipliner color, and I
- 10:24Speaker 1: honestly use it every single day. Put Lipliner or not
- 10:27Speaker 1: Lipliner sorry, lip bomb on on top. I will say
- 10:30Speaker 1: for a deinfluencing for Road, there is one thing that
- 10:32Speaker 1: I actually don't love by them, and I will never
- 10:35Speaker 1: honestly buy it in my opinion, and that is the
- 10:38Speaker 1: lip glosses or lip bombs. I don't love it. I
- 10:41Speaker 1: find it very kind of like bumpy and sticky. Like
- 10:45Speaker 1: I don't find it makes my lips hydrate. Every time
- 10:48Speaker 1: I use a road lip bomb, it just never stays on.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I feel like it feels like I have like little
- 10:53Speaker 1: bumps on my lips and it just feels I don't know,
- 10:57Speaker 1: it's just like every time I like reapply it, it
- 10:59Speaker 1: just gets stickier and stickier, and I hate that feeling
- 11:03Speaker 1: like that's just like the worst feeling ever. So I
- 11:04Speaker 1: don't really love her lip bombs. To be fully transparent,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I would never spend my money on it. But what
- 11:10Speaker 1: I would spend my money on for lip bombs is
- 11:12Speaker 1: I love the Summer Friday lip bombs. You guys have
- 11:14Speaker 1: probably heard me rave and talk about Summer Fridays in
- 11:17Speaker 1: the past, But Summer Friday's lip bomb is the best
- 11:20Speaker 1: lip bomb on the market my opinion, I've never tried
- 11:22Speaker 1: anything like it. My favorite flavors would be mint and
- 11:26Speaker 1: their Birthday Cake. I think they also just came out
- 11:29Speaker 1: with a marsh marshmallow one recently. But oh, I also
- 11:32Speaker 1: love the vanilla like those are like my top three.
- 11:34Speaker 1: She does have tinted ones. I think there's a beige vanilla,
- 11:37Speaker 1: which I also like, especially for like going out, if
- 11:40Speaker 1: you want something with more of a tint. I do
- 11:42Speaker 1: love that one. But I just love the consistency of
- 11:46Speaker 1: the Summer Friday lip Bombs, Like it's always never sticky.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I could reapply it like throughout the day multiple times
- 11:53Speaker 1: and never have an issue with it, and I find
- 11:55Speaker 1: it very hydrating. My lips, I feel like are never
- 11:57Speaker 1: chopped because I constantly use it, And I don't know,
- 12:02Speaker 1: they're like not too expensive, but they're just worth it
- 12:05Speaker 1: in my opinion. Like me and my girlfriends, we did
- 12:07Speaker 1: like a favorites Christmas exchange and I ended up getting
- 12:10Speaker 1: the mini travel size and a little package of four
- 12:13Speaker 1: I think, and I gave all my girlfriends like one
- 12:16Speaker 1: or two lip bombs and that was like my favorite
- 12:18Speaker 1: item because I was like, this stuff I'm truly obsessed
- 12:21Speaker 1: with and it's like my favorite stuff ever, more of
- 12:23Speaker 1: a self care fave. I love the brand Laaccu Tinte.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I think that's how you pronounce it. I could be
- 12:28Speaker 1: totally butchering the name. I'm not French, so it is
- 12:31Speaker 1: a French word and brand, but I love their shower oil,
- 12:37Speaker 1: literally the most amazing hydrating body shower oil I've ever tried.
- 12:42Speaker 1: It is a bit more on the priceier side, but
- 12:44Speaker 1: obviously with the sale coming, I think the sale is
- 12:46Speaker 1: like a good opportunity to kind of splurge your money
- 12:48Speaker 1: on things that are worth it. I also love their
- 12:51Speaker 1: body oil. So I have the shower oil which I
- 12:54Speaker 1: use in the shower as my body wash, and it
- 12:56Speaker 1: kind of has like this Almon vanilla sent and then
- 13:00Speaker 1: when I get out of the shower, I'll use their
- 13:02Speaker 1: body oil. And again coming from someone who has really
- 13:05Speaker 1: dry skin, this stuff really does hydrate me. And it
- 13:07Speaker 1: feels really really soothing on the skin. Never react to it.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Never gotten breakouts. I've tried body products before, like body
- 13:16Speaker 1: washes and all that, and I have actually gotten breakouts
- 13:19Speaker 1: on my body, which like never happens to me. So
- 13:23Speaker 1: when something like that happens, I completely avoid the product
- 13:25Speaker 1: and just like stick to what works for my skin.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Another product that I would deinfluence you on that I've
- 13:31Speaker 1: seen a lot of people rave about, and I hate
- 13:33Speaker 1: that it doesn't work for me personally, because I do
- 13:35Speaker 1: think the brand is incredible and I love the sense
- 13:38Speaker 1: of things and all that, but the brand Salt and Stone.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I have only tried certain products from Salt and Stone,
- 13:45Speaker 1: so I haven't tried everything. So I'm not like completely
- 13:47Speaker 1: bashing the brand at all. I've only tried their body
- 13:50Speaker 1: wash and the body wash actually broke out my body.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Never had that happen to me before, Like I had
- 13:56Speaker 1: like back at me and I was like, what is
- 13:58Speaker 1: going on? But this never happens, so I knew it
- 14:01Speaker 1: was the body wash that I tried. So then I
- 14:03Speaker 1: went to the La Occupane shower oil, did not break out,
- 14:06Speaker 1: did not have an issue, So that is just something
- 14:09Speaker 1: that like I had an experience where like it kind
- 14:11Speaker 1: of broke me out, so I don't use it. But
- 14:13Speaker 1: you know it's funny is that I use the body
- 14:15Speaker 1: wash actually in my bathrooms as my hand soap, Like
- 14:19Speaker 1: I'll just use it as like a cause I think
- 14:20Speaker 1: it's hand and body wash. I think it's what it is.
- 14:23Speaker 1: And obviously, like I don't have any brickouts on my hand,
- 14:26Speaker 1: so I'm like, I wonder why it's causing issues with
- 14:29Speaker 1: my whole body, but I don't have an issue with
- 14:30Speaker 1: my hands, so obviously, like I got gifted by Salt
- 14:33Speaker 1: and stone for that stuff, and so I'm like, I
- 14:35Speaker 1: don't want it to go to waste because I do
- 14:36Speaker 1: love the scent of things, and I do think the
- 14:39Speaker 1: brand is great. It's just it didn't work for my
- 14:41Speaker 1: body specifically. So anyways, that's just like an honest take
- 14:45Speaker 1: of like what happened to me and my own personal experience.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I have heard other people use it and have no
- 14:49Speaker 1: issues and are obsessed with it because I think it
- 14:51Speaker 1: is a pretty affordable brand as well from Sephora. So
- 14:55Speaker 1: it just didn't work for like a everyday body wash
- 14:58Speaker 1: for me. I'm more of a occupante shower oil and
- 15:03Speaker 1: like body oil kind of goal. A new brand that
- 15:05Speaker 1: I actually recently discovered that I really really love and
- 15:08Speaker 1: I've been really using it consistently is lux Unfiltered. They
- 15:12Speaker 1: are a I think a tanning company, so they do
- 15:14Speaker 1: a lot of self tanner's, you know, facial drops. She
- 15:18Speaker 1: also has like under eye patches. I recently got on
- 15:22Speaker 1: her PR list. I think the owner is I want
- 15:26Speaker 1: to say, what's her name? I need to search her
- 15:28Speaker 1: because I actually love her stuff, see Vaughn love her
- 15:32Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, her house, aesthetic, her platform in general.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I just really really adore. I love following her on Instagram.
- 15:38Speaker 1: She's a mom of two. I think she's in her
- 15:41Speaker 1: forties and she's just so cool, Like I really really
- 15:43Speaker 1: like her aesthetic. And she has this brand called lux Unfiltered,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and she sent me over her self. Tanner and eye patches.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I've been wearing the eye patches like almost in every
- 15:53Speaker 1: single morning blog that I've been posting recently because they're
- 15:55Speaker 1: so good. They're actually very similar to the road eye patches,
- 15:58Speaker 1: which I also love, really love the Road eye patches.
- 16:01Speaker 1: I like them better than most eye patches because they
- 16:04Speaker 1: both have the same sticky applicators, so I just finally
- 16:08Speaker 1: stay on my eyes better, you know, like the ones
- 16:10Speaker 1: where it's just kind of like slippery and like it
- 16:12Speaker 1: slides down constantly you constantly have to like move it up.
- 16:14Speaker 1: These are almost like stickers that will actually stay on
- 16:17Speaker 1: your eyes. You could keep them on up to like
- 16:20Speaker 1: an hour if you really wanted to, and not have
- 16:22Speaker 1: an issue with it coming off your face like it
- 16:24Speaker 1: is secure. Sometimes. I also like to put them in
- 16:26Speaker 1: the fridge that way. It kind of has like that
- 16:29Speaker 1: cooling aspect, which is really really nice. So I have
- 16:32Speaker 1: been loving the eye patches, and then I did actually
- 16:35Speaker 1: try the self tanner before I went to Toronto with
- 16:37Speaker 1: Zach because I needed a self tanner just on my
- 16:41Speaker 1: body because obviously, currently still in the winter trenches don't
- 16:45Speaker 1: have a lot of sunshine here, so I'm currently going
- 16:47Speaker 1: through my pale era. So I needed to give myself
- 16:50Speaker 1: a bit of a boost of confidence and put on
- 16:53Speaker 1: some self tanner. And their self tanner is very good.
- 16:56Speaker 1: She has multiple different types of self tanner, so there's
- 16:59Speaker 1: a gradual one that's a lotion, and then there's also
- 17:02Speaker 1: the self tanning moose. I've tried both. I think the
- 17:04Speaker 1: self tanning Moose is actually new, very very good. I
- 17:07Speaker 1: like the color because it looks like a very natural,
- 17:10Speaker 1: deep bronze. It doesn't look like a different shade of
- 17:14Speaker 1: you know, when you look like orange or you look
- 17:16Speaker 1: kind of green. Does not give that at all, which
- 17:18Speaker 1: I think is kind of a common issue with some
- 17:22Speaker 1: self tanner. Is like one self tanner that I don't
- 17:24Speaker 1: love on me personally that I've had, like an undertone
- 17:27Speaker 1: of green is I think it's called Saint Tropez. I
- 17:31Speaker 1: used to use it throughout high school and I'm like, girl,
- 17:33Speaker 1: why didn't I use that stuff. It literally made me
- 17:35Speaker 1: look green. So yeah, finding a good self tanner, I know,
- 17:39Speaker 1: is like difficult, but I do really think the lux
- 17:41Speaker 1: Unfiltered is worth it, and I know you can get
- 17:43Speaker 1: it at Sephora. The last obsession that I've recently discovered
- 17:48Speaker 1: through like something you can buy through Sephora that's kind
- 17:50Speaker 1: of like a beauty fave is the brand Merit. I
- 17:53Speaker 1: really like it because it's non toxic, and I try
- 17:56Speaker 1: my best to like switch out products where I can
- 17:59Speaker 1: when it comes to cleaning products, makeup product, skincare products
- 18:03Speaker 1: that are like clean beauty, and Merit is considered a
- 18:06Speaker 1: clean beauty brand, and I recently came across their concealer
- 18:09Speaker 1: stick really really good to hide blemishes. So if you're
- 18:13Speaker 1: having any type of acme or zits and you want
- 18:16Speaker 1: something that has like really really good coverage that you
- 18:18Speaker 1: can just kind of apply on the spot and then
- 18:20Speaker 1: be able to wear your foundation everywhere else, the Merit
- 18:23Speaker 1: Concealer stick is actually really good. Also using it under
- 18:26Speaker 1: your eyes if you have like really heavy bags one day,
- 18:28Speaker 1: or just like dark circles and you really just like
- 18:30Speaker 1: want to cover it up for more of like a
- 18:32Speaker 1: heavy coverage and you know me, I'm very much like
- 18:35Speaker 1: a light makeup kind of gal. I don't ever like
- 18:37Speaker 1: to wear like heavy, heavy makeup. But this is one
- 18:41Speaker 1: product that I think works really really well and you
- 18:43Speaker 1: can really apply more if you want more coverage or
- 18:47Speaker 1: less if you want less coverage. So it's very buildable,
- 18:50Speaker 1: which I love. So yeah, so Merit is actually a
- 18:53Speaker 1: brand that I haven't fully tried everything of definitely want
- 18:57Speaker 1: to explore more products by them. I think I've only
- 19:01Speaker 1: tried one other product that didn't work for me. It
- 19:03Speaker 1: was like there, I want to say, like their glow serum.
- 19:07Speaker 1: It was kind of like a serum that you would
- 19:09Speaker 1: apply before makeup. It broke me out. It did not
- 19:12Speaker 1: work for me personally. But I know there's like a
- 19:15Speaker 1: lot of other products that they have, like a blush.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I think they have a Bronzer stick. Those are things
- 19:19Speaker 1: that I've never tried that I'd be willing to try.
- 19:22Speaker 1: But I've tried their consular stick and their glow serum,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and I personally love the Concealer stick. Random things that
- 19:30Speaker 1: are not worth your money in my opinion, that are
- 19:33Speaker 1: in the beauty space. I actually recently got pr from
- 19:36Speaker 1: this brand, and I'm so mad because I really wanted
- 19:39Speaker 1: to love this brand. I really really did. I actually
- 19:41Speaker 1: tried two things by them, and unfortunately it's a no
- 19:44Speaker 1: for me. My skin did not like it at all,
- 19:47Speaker 1: which sucks because I know some people really rave about
- 19:50Speaker 1: this product and say it's the best, but for my skin,
- 19:52Speaker 1: it just did not work. Supergop Sunscreen it's literally one
- 19:56Speaker 1: of the top skincare brands. I think at Sephora, everybody
- 19:59Speaker 1: raves a bit. I use the sunscreen for the first
- 20:01Speaker 1: time last week. I have zits all over my chin
- 20:04Speaker 1: right now. Literally I never break out, and I'm like,
- 20:06Speaker 1: what is going on? So, yeah, the sunscreen is not
- 20:11Speaker 1: for me. I've also tried their sunscreen drops, which is
- 20:14Speaker 1: which is almost like a tinted sunscreen. I guess in
- 20:17Speaker 1: a way, No, it also just broke me out, so
- 20:20Speaker 1: clearly there's something in the product that does not react
- 20:23Speaker 1: well to my skin. So obviously trying two different products,
- 20:27Speaker 1: I feel like it definitely steers me away from the
- 20:29Speaker 1: brand completely. I think if I try like two to
- 20:32Speaker 1: three things from a brand, if it doesn't work, it's
- 20:34Speaker 1: just not for me. If there's two to three things
- 20:36Speaker 1: that I love from a brand, I'm most likely and
- 20:38Speaker 1: more inclined to buy more from them, right, So unfortunately
- 20:41Speaker 1: it's a no for me, which is so sad. I
- 20:44Speaker 1: definitely appreciated the gifting, but it's just not going to
- 20:48Speaker 1: work for me. Another thing that I don't really think
- 20:50Speaker 1: is worth it when it comes to like buying something
- 20:51Speaker 1: from Sephora is expensive muscara. Like I don't ever ever
- 20:57Speaker 1: spend my money on any type of brand at Sephora.
- 21:00Speaker 1: For mescara, I will always be a Laurel mascara girl.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I go to Shoppers. I just go to a local
- 21:04Speaker 1: drug store and I'll pick up a Loreal mascara for
- 21:08Speaker 1: I think, like what thirteen to fifteen dollars. I have
- 21:10Speaker 1: no idea how much it is, but I mean it
- 21:12Speaker 1: lasts me for such a long time. I use the one.
- 21:15Speaker 1: I think it's a Loreal Paradise one. Love it. I
- 21:17Speaker 1: have no eyelashes. I feel like it always makes my
- 21:20Speaker 1: lashes look super long. Every Sephora mascara I tried, like
- 21:24Speaker 1: I swear to it, it never makes my lashes look good.
- 21:28Speaker 1: Like I'll spend so much money thinking oh my god,
- 21:30Speaker 1: this is it It's gonna be. You know, it's so expensive,
- 21:33Speaker 1: Like I remember in high school, I would save my
- 21:34Speaker 1: money to spend my money on certain beauty products. That's
- 21:37Speaker 1: Aphora and the brand two Face. I felt like it
- 21:39Speaker 1: was like really popular when I was in high school.
- 21:41Speaker 1: Was something that just recently launched, and it was called
- 21:44Speaker 1: the better than sex mescarra. I remember, I thought it
- 21:47Speaker 1: was gonna be the best mescara. I was gonna be
- 21:49Speaker 1: my go to ride or die. It was so clumpy,
- 21:52Speaker 1: it made my lashes look like shit. Did not like
- 21:54Speaker 1: it whatsoever. But it's like I spent all this money
- 21:57Speaker 1: thinking that, oh, well, the more expensive one's gonna be
- 21:59Speaker 1: so much better than when I buy from shoppers. Right, Well, no,
- 22:02Speaker 1: that's not the case. There is some drugstore makeup that
- 22:04Speaker 1: is truly better than most products that you would get
- 22:07Speaker 1: from Sephora. So yeah, I don't ever waste my money
- 22:11Speaker 1: on expensive mascaras anymore. I stick to the OG's Loreel mascara.
- 22:17Speaker 1: It's truly my favorite in my opinion, and it's affordable,
- 22:19Speaker 1: which is great. I do not really love the Tart Concealer.
- 22:23Speaker 1: I know everyone raves about that concealer. I find it
- 22:26Speaker 1: way too thick for me personally. I find it literally
- 22:29Speaker 1: makes me look like I have like heavier bags on
- 22:32Speaker 1: my eyes. I would rather wear no concealer at all
- 22:34Speaker 1: than put that concealer under my eyes, just because I
- 22:36Speaker 1: really find it's way too heavy. I think it would
- 22:39Speaker 1: be great for blemishes, but it's just not for me.
- 22:43Speaker 1: It's not for me. I prefer a lighter concealer. I
- 22:46Speaker 1: really love the Kosis concealer. That one's really good. That
- 22:49Speaker 1: one's a really good option that's more light coverage but
- 22:52Speaker 1: also gives enough coverage where it's buildable and it looks
- 22:55Speaker 1: really really good. Also, Tower twenty eight concealer is good
- 22:59Speaker 1: and Hourglass. Those would be like my top three concealers
- 23:02Speaker 1: that I've tried that I stand by, that I love,
- 23:05Speaker 1: that I constantly repurchase. But no, the tart is not
- 23:09Speaker 1: for me. I know people raved about that for a
- 23:11Speaker 1: really long time, but it's just uh, not something that
- 23:13Speaker 1: works for me. Do you guys know the brand Milk Makeup.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Milk Makeup came out with these like jelly blushes this
- 23:21Speaker 1: time last year, and I remember everybody posting it on TikTok,
- 23:24Speaker 1: like raving about these jelly blushes, and I was so
- 23:27Speaker 1: excited that I got like a pr from them, and
- 23:29Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, this is so exciting.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I'm getting the blushes that everyone's talking about it. Whatever,
- 23:32Speaker 1: I got it. I tried it immediately. It made no difference.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I literally did not see anything on my face. I
- 23:38Speaker 1: was like, these blushes are not even pigmented, Like they're
- 23:41Speaker 1: not even giving the pigmentation that we need on our face.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And I'm a blush girl, Like I love my blush,
- 23:47Speaker 1: and I don't know, it just looked like candy that
- 23:50Speaker 1: you could eat. Honestly, Like the concept was cool, but
- 23:53Speaker 1: I just don't think the product executed the best way
- 23:57Speaker 1: it should have in my opinion. I think it was
- 23:59Speaker 1: like over really hyped up for sure on social media,
- 24:02Speaker 1: but it's a no for me. It did not work.
- 24:05Speaker 1: The last thing that I would say that I've spent
- 24:07Speaker 1: my money on or that I've received from PR that
- 24:10Speaker 1: just really didn't work for me personally was I tried
- 24:13Speaker 1: the brand Way, which I do love a lot of
- 24:15Speaker 1: hair products by Way. They are a really good brand.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I love their dry shampoo, I love their leaving conditioner,
- 24:21Speaker 1: I love their moose, I love their curl cream. Like
- 24:24Speaker 1: there is a lot of stuff that I love by
- 24:25Speaker 1: the brand, but one thing that I could not love
- 24:30Speaker 1: was their shampoo and conditioner. I've tried so many different
- 24:32Speaker 1: types of shampoo and conditioners by them, and they always
- 24:35Speaker 1: just made my hair look dirty. Nothing ever looked good,
- 24:38Speaker 1: and I felt like I would try it multiple times
- 24:40Speaker 1: right Like some people are like, oh, your hair just
- 24:41Speaker 1: needs to get used to it. I'm like, Okay, let
- 24:43Speaker 1: me try it for like four washes throughout the next
- 24:45Speaker 1: two weeks. Try it for four washes constantly just made
- 24:48Speaker 1: my hair look greasy underneath. You know when like you
- 24:51Speaker 1: blow dry your hair and then you like put your
- 24:53Speaker 1: hair half up to like blow dry it. It was
- 24:56Speaker 1: literally looking wet and it was fully dry, And I
- 24:59Speaker 1: hate when that happens. It's like the worst feeling ever.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It's like I just spent the past forty five minutes
- 25:06Speaker 1: doing in everything shower and you're telling me that my
- 25:08Speaker 1: hair is still greasy. No, that's just a no for me.
- 25:11Speaker 1: So I don't ever change my shampoo and conditioner now.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I just stick to Redkin. That's what my hairstylist recommended
- 25:18Speaker 1: to me, and I love it. I think it's so
- 25:20Speaker 1: so good. It doesn't ever leave my hair with that
- 25:22Speaker 1: like greasy, wet feeling. So that's a note for me.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I honestly haven't really found a good shampoo conditioner from Sephora.
- 25:31Speaker 1: So I just buy what my hair dresser tells me
- 25:33Speaker 1: to buy, and I just stick to that. Okay, let's
- 25:35Speaker 1: talk about some wellness obsessions or wellness trends that I
- 25:39Speaker 1: either love or something that just didn't really work for
- 25:42Speaker 1: me personally. Right now, I feel like I've been wanting
- 25:46Speaker 1: to buy a lot more active wear. I feel like
- 25:48Speaker 1: now that we're heading into late spring early summer, I've
- 25:52Speaker 1: been craving a new workoutside, just like on fun Colors
- 25:56Speaker 1: obviously with the summer season coming up, and I I
- 26:00Speaker 1: have tried a lot of active weear. Okay, I've literally
- 26:03Speaker 1: probably tried it all. To be honest, I've gotten a
- 26:05Speaker 1: lot of gifting from brands, and there is definitely one
- 26:08Speaker 1: brand that I consistently wear that you guys probably see
- 26:12Speaker 1: me post on Instagram a lot of the time on
- 26:15Speaker 1: my Instagram stories, and I'm going to be fully transparent.
- 26:17Speaker 1: It is the best active where brand in my opinion,
- 26:19Speaker 1: and one brand that I will literally forever purchase from,
- 26:23Speaker 1: and that is Cropshop Boutique. It's called CSB. They're based
- 26:26Speaker 1: in Australia. They always slay. Like literally every single workouts
- 26:31Speaker 1: that I've ever gotten from them, I'm obsessed with. Like
- 26:33Speaker 1: I have gotten a few brands send me things and
- 26:37Speaker 1: you know what, just like a sports broad doesn't fit right,
- 26:39Speaker 1: or the leggings are way too high, like really high wasted,
- 26:43Speaker 1: or whatever the case may be. Like every single pant, bra,
- 26:48Speaker 1: tank top, sweater, long sleep I've ever ever ever received
- 26:52Speaker 1: from them, I've been obsessed with. I just adore the
- 26:54Speaker 1: brand so much. I think they put so much thought
- 26:57Speaker 1: into their bra styles, the fashion, and it's very much
- 27:01Speaker 1: a pilates core aesthetic in my opinion when it comes
- 27:04Speaker 1: to workout sets. So if you really want a good
- 27:08Speaker 1: workout set, I personally think the Crop Shout Boutique is
- 27:11Speaker 1: worth every single penny. My sister also agrees, Like I've
- 27:15Speaker 1: gifted her things that I've gotten extra pr from and
- 27:18Speaker 1: she's like, no, this stuff is insane, Like she's actually
- 27:20Speaker 1: spent her money on other sets by them because she's
- 27:24Speaker 1: gotten to try it out and she really just loved
- 27:26Speaker 1: the workout sets. So truthfully, I think it's worth every
- 27:29Speaker 1: single penny more of an affordable brand that does sell
- 27:34Speaker 1: really good workout sets. In my opinion that I've never,
- 27:36Speaker 1: ever again have had an issue with Aritzia. Aritzia has
- 27:40Speaker 1: the best active wear like that is another brand that
- 27:43Speaker 1: I've purchased multiple workout sets from, have had for years
- 27:46Speaker 1: upon years. I'm talking like when I first started TikTok,
- 27:49Speaker 1: like I would buy a Ritzya workoutsets because they were
- 27:52Speaker 1: affordable and they had such two colors and I still
- 27:54Speaker 1: have them to this day. And that was five years ago.
- 27:57Speaker 1: So Aritzia freaking killed it with their active wear line.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And I think that was recently released five years ago.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Like when I bought it, I think it was like
- 28:05Speaker 1: a new thing that they were launching, and they killed
- 28:08Speaker 1: it from the beginning to now. They have this new
- 28:11Speaker 1: beautiful butter yellow color that just came out. Oh my god, guys,
- 28:14Speaker 1: I do not mean to tell you that, but you
- 28:16Speaker 1: need to go buy it. It is so nice. It
- 28:18Speaker 1: is so nice. I'm obsessed with it. Anything yellow right now.
- 28:21Speaker 1: I'm actually obsessed with yellow or blue. It's my two
- 28:24Speaker 1: obsessions right now. Anyways, that's something I would definitely influence
- 28:27Speaker 1: you on, just because I think Aritzia is amazing and
- 28:30Speaker 1: you want to know, it's funny if you're American, you
- 28:33Speaker 1: will never understand the hype that Aritzia had for us
- 28:36Speaker 1: girls in Canada. If you are a Canadian girl, then
- 28:39Speaker 1: you will understand that Aritzia was our go to spot
- 28:42Speaker 1: for shopping through our entire high school years. We had
- 28:45Speaker 1: this like one Aritzia TNA zip up that was kind
- 28:49Speaker 1: of like a mockneck, was a high high sweater. I
- 28:51Speaker 1: think they still sell it or they recently brought it back.
- 28:54Speaker 1: And then the TNA dome bags they brought it back
- 28:57Speaker 1: this year. That was our backpacks. Like we were a
- 29:00Speaker 1: Ritzia girls before any of the Americans or Europeans knew
- 29:05Speaker 1: about Aritzia, like the Canadian girlies now that Aritzia was
- 29:08Speaker 1: like our diehard thing and if you guys didn't know
- 29:10Speaker 1: what Ritzia is Canadian. So I think it's just so
- 29:12Speaker 1: funny to see how much Aritzia has expanded. I think
- 29:15Speaker 1: it's truly incredible. But I just can't believe the brand
- 29:18Speaker 1: has stayed so true to a customer since day one.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I've been shopping at a Ritzia since I was literally
- 29:24Speaker 1: fourteen years old. Fourteen years old, that's wild, and here
- 29:27Speaker 1: I am at thirty, still buying from them to this day.
- 29:30Speaker 1: And still obsessed with the quality the brand everything. So
- 29:34Speaker 1: Aritzia is truly probably one of the best brands ever
- 29:37Speaker 1: in my opinion, probably Lululemon as well, for like just
- 29:40Speaker 1: staying by the customer and being consistently good with quality
- 29:44Speaker 1: and just things that I always like never get rid of,
- 29:47Speaker 1: Like I feel like I'm constantly keeping things years upon
- 29:50Speaker 1: years when I purchased from them one hundred percent worth
- 29:52Speaker 1: every single penny for their workout sets. I recently became
- 29:55Speaker 1: obsessed with this brand early last year. But the brand
- 29:58Speaker 1: is called pro Mix. They do a few of types
- 30:00Speaker 1: of supplements. I have tried multiple different supplements from this brand,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and I adore them so so much. I've tried their magnesium,
- 30:07Speaker 1: I've tried their electrolytes. I have this prebiotic probiotic drink
- 30:11Speaker 1: every single morning, and I swear that supplement that I
- 30:15Speaker 1: take every single morning has helped me so much without
- 30:17Speaker 1: getting sick, without having any gut issues. I just think
- 30:21Speaker 1: it's truly been Like the best supplement that I've taken
- 30:24Speaker 1: every single morning is their prebiotic probiotic drink. They advertise
- 30:29Speaker 1: it as a de bloat drink. I don't ever use
- 30:31Speaker 1: it for that purpose. I wasn't ever looking for like
- 30:33Speaker 1: a de bloat drink. I was more so just looking
- 30:35Speaker 1: for a prebiotic probiotic supplement to take every single morning.
- 30:39Speaker 1: And I love that it's a drink and not a pill.
- 30:41Speaker 1: I suck at swallowing pills. Okay, not a pill, girly,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I freaking hate them. Obviously. I'm taking a prenatal right
- 30:47Speaker 1: now from Ritual and it's good, but like I feel
- 30:50Speaker 1: like I'm always just having issues swallowing it and I
- 30:53Speaker 1: hate it. But it's fine. We're fine. I'm just like
- 30:55Speaker 1: not a vitamin girl. But we're gonna talk about vitamins
- 30:57Speaker 1: and supplements in a second, and the things that I
- 30:59Speaker 1: don't is worth your money. But anyways, the electrolytes by
- 31:03Speaker 1: Promix is actually really good. I don't have an electrolyte
- 31:06Speaker 1: every single day. I used to, and then I started
- 31:09Speaker 1: to do research around like how you need to be
- 31:11Speaker 1: like working out pretty hard or sweating pretty hard to
- 31:14Speaker 1: be absorbing and drinking electrolytes or else it's like really
- 31:18Speaker 1: high in sodium and probably not the best for you,
- 31:20Speaker 1: so do your own research on that. But I try
- 31:22Speaker 1: and not have one every single day. I try to
- 31:24Speaker 1: just do it on the days where I feel like
- 31:25Speaker 1: I've been like super active and could use some hydration,
- 31:29Speaker 1: or if I've been like in the heat for a
- 31:30Speaker 1: long period of time and just like have been in
- 31:32Speaker 1: a hot space like kind of like the summertime in
- 31:35Speaker 1: need of an electrolyte. I'll just have it when I
- 31:38Speaker 1: feel like I need the hydration. Red light therapy mass.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I know, I know they're so expensive. Okay, I totally
- 31:45Speaker 1: hear you, but I do think it makes a pretty
- 31:48Speaker 1: big difference. I actually had a recent experience with my
- 31:51Speaker 1: mom who was kind of against red light therapy mass.
- 31:54Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like sometimes the older generation
- 31:56Speaker 1: they don't really get it. And for Christmas, my mom
- 31:59Speaker 1: and dad got my stir of the shark face mask, which,
- 32:03Speaker 1: if you guys know, the shark face mask is like
- 32:04Speaker 1: super super popular. The red light therapy mask is like
- 32:07Speaker 1: something that sold out like literally throughout all stores throughout
- 32:09Speaker 1: the Christmas season. I feel like it was like one
- 32:11Speaker 1: of the top Christmas gifts that people were asking for.
- 32:13Speaker 1: And my mom has been taking it from my sister
- 32:15Speaker 1: to use like within this past month, and she literally
- 32:18Speaker 1: came to me last night and she was like Killy,
- 32:22Speaker 1: I am actually noticing a difference in my skin since
- 32:24Speaker 1: using the red light therapy mask like four times a week.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I'm like, I love to hear that. I love to
- 32:29Speaker 1: hear that you're loving it. I don't know. It was
- 32:30Speaker 1: really refreshing to hear that from her because I've been
- 32:33Speaker 1: using it for such a long time where I feel
- 32:34Speaker 1: like I'm not really noticing differences. But I think it's
- 32:37Speaker 1: maintaining good skin, if that makes sense. I feel like
- 32:41Speaker 1: it is helping with my roseatia, but I'm not really
- 32:43Speaker 1: noticing a difference in terms of like, oh my god,
- 32:44Speaker 1: my wrinkles are gone or whatever, like that's not really
- 32:46Speaker 1: working for me personally, But I think it's creating a good,
- 32:49Speaker 1: consistent and maintaining, you know, just good skin in general.
- 32:53Speaker 1: But my mom, for an example, she obviously like has
- 32:55Speaker 1: a bit of insecurities when it comes to wrinkles and
- 32:57Speaker 1: stuff like that, and she's like, no, Killy, Like, I
- 32:58Speaker 1: really do feel like I know the difference, and I'm like, okay, Mom,
- 33:01Speaker 1: I love to hear that. So those just a few
- 33:03Speaker 1: things that I think are pretty new to me that
- 33:05Speaker 1: I've been obsessed with recently. I feel like other things
- 33:08Speaker 1: that I could talk about in the wellness industry. You
- 33:10Speaker 1: guys probably have heard me talked about a million times,
- 33:12Speaker 1: like reformable ladies. You guys know I'm obsessed with I
- 33:15Speaker 1: really want to get back into juicing again. Juicing is
- 33:17Speaker 1: something that I'm always like on and off with, but
- 33:19Speaker 1: I feel like whenever it's like spring and summer, I'm
- 33:21Speaker 1: more inclined to make green juices again. Juicing in general,
- 33:25Speaker 1: so I'm definitely inclined to do that again. And just
- 33:27Speaker 1: things that I like always kind of go back to. Okay,
- 33:30Speaker 1: so now let's talk about wellness. Things that I've tried
- 33:32Speaker 1: that I don't think is worth your money or honestly
- 33:34Speaker 1: not even worth your money, but just things that are
- 33:36Speaker 1: like not necessary, Like I don't think you need to
- 33:39Speaker 1: get it. I think you can still be a healthy
- 33:41Speaker 1: person or be in the wellness industry and not have
- 33:44Speaker 1: to purchase these things in order to be like a
- 33:46Speaker 1: wellness person or someone that wants to live a healthier lifestyle.
- 33:49Speaker 1: One of them being protein powders. I'm not against protein powders.
- 33:53Speaker 1: My husband has a protein shake, you know, the odd
- 33:55Speaker 1: day after a workout. Whatever. I used to be like
- 33:58Speaker 1: protein powders in my smoothies and my breakfast is all that,
- 34:02Speaker 1: Like die Hard would like literally have protein powder almost
- 34:05Speaker 1: every single day. When you realize that you can get
- 34:07Speaker 1: your protein source other ways, and honestly it's actually better
- 34:10Speaker 1: to probably get natural protein versus a powder, it literally
- 34:14Speaker 1: completely changes the game for you. Like freak yogurt has
- 34:16Speaker 1: such a high protein intake, especially for breakfast in the
- 34:19Speaker 1: mornings or for a snack, you know, eating actual protein
- 34:23Speaker 1: like chicken, beef, steak, whatever the case may be, for
- 34:26Speaker 1: your lunches and dinner. Like, you can get so much
- 34:28Speaker 1: protein in every single meal if you do your own research,
- 34:31Speaker 1: you do not need to have a protein shake. You know,
- 34:33Speaker 1: there's so many process protein shakes out there in protein powders.
- 34:37Speaker 1: There's also some clean protein powders that you can invest
- 34:39Speaker 1: in that are probably worth the money. And you know,
- 34:42Speaker 1: having a protein after a workout is great for recovery.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I totally get that, but like you could also just
- 34:47Speaker 1: have a really high protein meal or high protein breakfast
- 34:50Speaker 1: to get that, you know, benefit of building muscle and
- 34:55Speaker 1: all that. So I don't know, I haven't really had
- 34:58Speaker 1: a protein shake in like a really long time. If
- 35:00Speaker 1: I'm like out with my friends and like we go
- 35:02Speaker 1: to a smoothie bar and they want to get a
- 35:04Speaker 1: protein smoothie. Like, yeah, I'm all for it. Of course
- 35:06Speaker 1: I'm going to get that. But like, I'm not like
- 35:07Speaker 1: purposely going out of my way to buy a really
- 35:10Speaker 1: expensive protein powder to use it. Zach has one that
- 35:13Speaker 1: I use occasionally for my oats. I'll make like protein
- 35:16Speaker 1: oats the odd time, which I adore. But again, it's
- 35:19Speaker 1: not something that I'm like, I need this supplement, I
- 35:21Speaker 1: need to spend the money on it. Like, I don't
- 35:22Speaker 1: think it's a need in my opinion. I think it's
- 35:24Speaker 1: great if you have it, but I just don't think
- 35:26Speaker 1: it's like you need this in order to see results
- 35:28Speaker 1: for yourself. So anyways, that's something that I feel like
- 35:31Speaker 1: I've definitely grown to learn that and something that I
- 35:34Speaker 1: would definitely not say. Probably five years ago, I would
- 35:36Speaker 1: probably say get the protein powder. It's the best thing.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Ever now I'm like, just eat protein and you will
- 35:40Speaker 1: see the results that you want to see. Another wellness
- 35:42Speaker 1: trend that I think people assume is really expensive is
- 35:46Speaker 1: eating healthy and just like making complicated meals, you do
- 35:50Speaker 1: not need to make a complicated meal in order to
- 35:52Speaker 1: be healthy. I've definitely done a lot of research on
- 35:55Speaker 1: healthy recipes now that I'm in my TTC journey and
- 35:58Speaker 1: kind of prepping for pregnancy, and honestly, the simple meals
- 36:01Speaker 1: still work great and they still taste great. You could
- 36:04Speaker 1: buy broccoli, beef and sweet potato and that could be
- 36:07Speaker 1: your meal. Easy, simple, good, taste great. Wasn't that expensive,
- 36:12Speaker 1: so you don't need to make a complicated meal every
- 36:13Speaker 1: single night. You can still be healthy and just make
- 36:16Speaker 1: a very simple dinner or lunch for the day. Coconut
- 36:19Speaker 1: Cult Sea Moss. You know, I've seen a lot of
- 36:22Speaker 1: wellness girls within the past year talk a lot about
- 36:25Speaker 1: these products, and again, it might work for them, it
- 36:28Speaker 1: did not work for me personally. I honestly did not
- 36:31Speaker 1: have a good reaction to Coconut Cult at all. My
- 36:33Speaker 1: stomach was like, ooh, don't do this to me, not
- 36:35Speaker 1: reacting well. So I completely stop buying it because obviously
- 36:38Speaker 1: it's very expensive and not something that I think is
- 36:40Speaker 1: worth the money for me personally. The Sea Moss jel
- 36:44Speaker 1: it wasn't like I had a bad reaction. I just
- 36:46Speaker 1: wouldn't say I was really noticing a difference apparently it's
- 36:51Speaker 1: like really good for your skin, and I don't know,
- 36:53Speaker 1: it just wasn't really working for me. So I just
- 36:55Speaker 1: was like, you know, I'm not going to spend all
- 36:56Speaker 1: this money on these things if I'm not seeing the
- 37:00Speaker 1: benefits out of it. So those are two things that
- 37:01Speaker 1: I see a lot of people talk and rave about, which, again,
- 37:04Speaker 1: if it works for you, great, it just didn't work
- 37:06Speaker 1: for me personally, Okay. The last one, when it comes
- 37:09Speaker 1: to like wellness trends and things that I don't think
- 37:11Speaker 1: is worth the money, is paying for multiple vitamins or
- 37:15Speaker 1: supplements to take throughout the day. There is some girls
- 37:17Speaker 1: that I see on TikTok and Instagram who are literally
- 37:20Speaker 1: taking like eight different types of vitamins and supplements throughout
- 37:22Speaker 1: their day, and I'm like, I almost feel like, am
- 37:25Speaker 1: I Like, am I doing something wrong with? Am I
- 37:28Speaker 1: not healthy? Because I don't have like eight to seven
- 37:30Speaker 1: different types of vitamins in the morning when I wake up.
- 37:33Speaker 1: And obviously, like there's probably different reasons why some of
- 37:35Speaker 1: these people are taking a lot of supplements or vitamins
- 37:38Speaker 1: in the morning. Which this is why you really have
- 37:41Speaker 1: to like do your own thing and not just copy
- 37:43Speaker 1: other people's routine because obviously everyone has a different reason
- 37:47Speaker 1: as to maybe why they're taking these supplements and why
- 37:49Speaker 1: they're taking these vitamins. I thought earlier this year, when
- 37:53Speaker 1: I was getting my blood work done, I thought, for sure,
- 37:55Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I'm gonna be low in everything. I
- 37:58Speaker 1: take no vitamins at all. I take, you know, that
- 38:00Speaker 1: one supplement every single morning, which is my prebiotic, probiotic
- 38:03Speaker 1: by pro Mix, and that's really it. And then I
- 38:05Speaker 1: was recently starting my prenatal bi ritual as my multi
- 38:10Speaker 1: vitamin for this whole prepping for pregnancy situation. So those
- 38:13Speaker 1: were the only two things I was taking, along with
- 38:15Speaker 1: magnesium the odd night. Right, I wasn't taking magnesium every
- 38:18Speaker 1: single night, And so I thought for sure my blood
- 38:21Speaker 1: work was gonna come back and I was gonna be
- 38:22Speaker 1: like totally off the charts. Like my doctor was gonna
- 38:25Speaker 1: be like, yeah, you need vitamin B, vitamin C. Whatever.
- 38:28Speaker 1: She comes back with my results and she's like, Okay,
- 38:30Speaker 1: you look great. You don't need to do anything different.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I was like what. I literally looked at her, I'm like,
- 38:36Speaker 1: are you sure. I'm like, I thought for sure I
- 38:37Speaker 1: was gonna have low iron. I thought for sure I
- 38:39Speaker 1: was gonna have low iron. I thought I was gonna
- 38:41Speaker 1: need to pick up like vitamin C, vitamin D, like
- 38:43Speaker 1: I was ready to spend money on supplements, and she's like, no,
- 38:46Speaker 1: you're very healthy. Everything looks great. Everything is honestly stronger
- 38:50Speaker 1: than most women. Like she was literally saying that, like
- 38:52Speaker 1: my results were stronger than most women that she sees,
- 38:54Speaker 1: and I was like wow, Like I was really shocked.
- 38:56Speaker 1: And so she told me to not change anything. So
- 38:58Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, I'm not gonna change any I'm
- 39:00Speaker 1: just going to keep doing what I'm doing. I actually
- 39:02Speaker 1: brought all of the things that I take so she
- 39:05Speaker 1: could make sure that everything was, you know, safe, right.
- 39:07Speaker 1: So I brought my pro mix supplement, I brought my magnesium,
- 39:10Speaker 1: I brought my prenatal like. I was like, this is
- 39:12Speaker 1: what I'm currently taking, Like do you think these are
- 39:14Speaker 1: all good? And she's like, yes, these are all great.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Keep taking these. So kind of gave me some reassurance
- 39:20Speaker 1: of like knowing that the things that I'm doing is
- 39:22Speaker 1: working and just keep doing what you're doing. Yeah, that's
- 39:25Speaker 1: kind of like something that I wanted to bring up
- 39:27Speaker 1: in conversation because I feel like people assume that you
- 39:29Speaker 1: need to take all these supplements and vitamins in order
- 39:31Speaker 1: to be healthy, but you do not need to take
- 39:33Speaker 1: these things every single day. I think it's important to
- 39:37Speaker 1: do the blood work if you've never gotten it done,
- 39:39Speaker 1: and just kind of see how your body is. And
- 39:42Speaker 1: you know, especially if you are in the TTC journey
- 39:44Speaker 1: like myself, we're prepping for pregnancy and you like want
- 39:46Speaker 1: to know more about your body. It's really really important
- 39:48Speaker 1: to do that and just educate yourself on yourself. So, yeah,
- 39:53Speaker 1: those are things that I don't think are personally worth
- 39:55Speaker 1: your money. These are some obsessions that I've been loving recently,
- 39:58Speaker 1: especially in the spring season, and just that I've been
- 40:01Speaker 1: obsessed with. And yeah, so that's kind of today's episode
- 40:04Speaker 1: just kind of influencing you guys or deinfluence you guys
- 40:06Speaker 1: with beauty and wellness trends or products that I've either
- 40:10Speaker 1: been loving or not working for me personally. I hope
- 40:13Speaker 1: you guys enjoyed this episode. If you guys are new,
- 40:15Speaker 1: definitely make sure to follow me on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
