- 2:10Speaker 3: Bravo scoop, October 15th in New York. And then all
- 2:14Speaker 3: your favorites in Vegas, October 22nd. And then, of course,
- 2:17Speaker 3: I've got Texas. And then I've got the East Coast
- 2:19Speaker 3: in November. HeatherMcDonald.net. Do not miss out. Okay, let me
- 2:24Speaker 3: get up to date on the Adam Levine mistress DMing
- 2:30Speaker 3: douchebag nightmare. First of all, I want to say, To
- 2:33Speaker 3: all you juicy scoopers that felt the need to tell
- 2:35Speaker 3: me that I had my information wrong. The girl on TikTok,
- 2:40Speaker 3: literally it popped up 15 minutes before we recorded.
- 2:44Speaker 6: Okay.
- 2:45Speaker 3: So again, this is a podcast, a comedic podcast about
- 2:51Speaker 3: pop culture and it's a topical improv conversation. So when
- 2:56Speaker 3: something reminds me of something else and I go, remember
- 2:58Speaker 3: that story about I may not have every fricking fact. Okay.
- 3:03Speaker 3: I've got one little girl named Annie working here with
- 3:06Speaker 3: one little phone, okay? And we're trying to get this
- 3:09Speaker 3: information out to you. Adam Levine. As you know, this
- 3:14Speaker 3: girl came forward and she said, I had a relationship
- 3:17Speaker 3: with Adam Levine. Here are the DMs to prove it,
- 3:20Speaker 3: in which he said, now I realize it was June
- 3:24Speaker 3: of this summer that he re-reached out to her. They
- 3:28Speaker 3: had their supposed alleged affair, according to her, in 2021,
- 3:34Speaker 3: when she was much, much younger and much more naive
- 3:39Speaker 3: in 2021. And it's currently 2022. In June of 2022,
- 3:43Speaker 3: according to her DMs and what she's claiming, he reached
- 3:46Speaker 3: out and said, I'm having my third child with my
- 3:49Speaker 3: wife and who I have two other kids with, who
- 3:52Speaker 3: is a Victoria's Secret model. If it's a boy, I'm
- 3:55Speaker 3: thinking of naming the boy after you, Sumner, which is
- 3:58Speaker 3: totally weird and creepy. Then she went on and did
- 4:03Speaker 3: another video and said, I do want to say, you know,
- 4:07Speaker 3: I feel badly about it. I didn't know. I realize
- 4:10Speaker 3: now I was manipulated, all this stuff. He then heeded
- 4:13Speaker 3: his own DM and said, I've crossed the line. I
- 4:18Speaker 3: never had an affair, but what I talked about with
- 4:21Speaker 3: other women on DMs, on Instagram, I apologize for, and
- 4:26Speaker 3: we are working together. He and the wife were seen
- 4:29Speaker 3: picking up the two kids together at the school. Meanwhile,
- 4:36Speaker 3: other people have come forward. This young girl came forward
- 4:40Speaker 3: and said that he was writing her, she shows her
- 4:43Speaker 3: DMs on TikTok, saying, and where he says, I shouldn't
- 4:48Speaker 3: be talking to you. You know this, right?
- 4:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:51Speaker 3: So he knows he shouldn't be talking to her. It's flirty. Again,
- 4:55Speaker 3: no proof of him in her bed or anything, but
- 4:58Speaker 3: pretty bad. Then another girl comes out. Page six has
- 5:01Speaker 3: been real busy with this. And she's a gorgeous girl,
- 5:06Speaker 3: very tattooed, which he's obviously very into his tattoo and
- 5:09Speaker 3: very proud to be a California guy. He was a
- 5:12Speaker 3: rich kid who grew up in Brentwood. He's very proud
- 5:14Speaker 3: of his California roots. Good for him. And so then
- 5:20Speaker 3: this says that he contacted her. He also sent a
- 5:23Speaker 3: video to her. And some of the things that has
- 5:26Speaker 3: been revealed from her DMs that have been shared is that,
- 5:30Speaker 3: if this is all true, alleged Adam Levine DMs. He writes,
- 5:35Speaker 3: don't ever apologize for being human. She does a lot
- 5:37Speaker 3: of ha ha ha, da da da. And then he says,
- 5:41Speaker 3: he's flirting with her. Then some of the other things
- 5:43Speaker 3: he's like, says to her, that body of yours is absurd.
- 5:47Speaker 3: How are you such an hourglass? My God, seriously, fuck.
- 5:52Speaker 3: She's like, ha ha. She sends a photo. I may
- 5:55Speaker 3: need to see that booty.
- 5:56Speaker 7: Fuck.
- 5:57Speaker 3: He says again, can't control himself. Um, he said it's,
- 6:03Speaker 3: you know, he's just flirting with her more. They talk
- 6:05Speaker 3: about Mercury and the renegade. Ha ha. Oh my God.
- 6:08Speaker 3: So weird. That shit's crazy.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Ha ha.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Then he goes on to tell this girl, I'm having
- 6:14Speaker 3: another baby wife. He's pregnant and I'm having a boy
- 6:17Speaker 3: and I'm naming him Zay, Z-E-A. He will be a
- 6:22Speaker 3: bad ass. So again, we don't know if they ever
- 6:27Speaker 3: got together. I think he just has a problem with
- 6:30Speaker 3: the Instagram. I'm guessing if they go forward as a couple,
- 6:34Speaker 3: there's going to be an assistant that just promotes his
- 6:37Speaker 3: shows when he's performing and he can never be on
- 6:40Speaker 3: Instagram again. I mean, that's what I would do as
- 6:43Speaker 3: the wife. I think wives like she might know that
- 6:47Speaker 3: he messes around and It's only bad until the rest
- 6:51Speaker 3: of the world knows about it. Now you've humiliated me.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Now the world knows we're not this perfect couple. That's
- 6:56Speaker 3: what's so annoying. And like really on Instagram? I mean,
- 7:00Speaker 3: come on, you guys. And the thirst to then reveal
- 7:03Speaker 3: it on TikTok, I get it. You know, it's out
- 7:06Speaker 3: of control. Meanwhile, this girl doesn't like the chick. Who's Sumner?
- 7:14Speaker 3: She doesn't like Sumner at all because this chick who
- 7:16Speaker 3: went on TikTok said, oh, I dated Sumner's little brother.
- 7:20Speaker 3: And during that time, she hired bots to harass me.
- 7:23Speaker 3: She said, you know, stay away from my family. And
- 7:25Speaker 3: she was awful. So she's not a fan of hers. Also,
- 7:30Speaker 3: I heard from Nick Ritchie, who has a new kind
- 7:34Speaker 3: of dirty type online something called Facts, okay? And he
- 7:39Speaker 3: let me know that, according to Nick Ritchie, that a
- 7:43Speaker 3: third party approached him to possibly pay for Sumner story.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Now remember, Sumner said, the only reason I'm coming out
- 7:51Speaker 3: on TikTok is to tell you that one of my
- 7:55Speaker 3: friends was going to reveal this story to a tabloid
- 7:58Speaker 3: and they were asking me for a response, so I'm
- 8:00Speaker 3: going to beat you to the punch and do it
- 8:01Speaker 3: myself on TikTok because it was going to be revealed anyway. Well,
- 8:06Speaker 3: I don't know if that's entirely true because according to
- 8:08Speaker 3: this story, it was being shopped around for her to
- 8:12Speaker 3: be paid to tell the story. So meanwhile, Gina, the
- 8:17Speaker 3: matchmaker who came on my show, her TikTok pops up
- 8:20Speaker 3: and she does a stitch as well to Sumner's and says,
- 8:24Speaker 3: I'm going to say something you guys might be surprised by.
- 8:26Speaker 3: I know Sumner. She's a delightful 23 year old girl.
- 8:30Speaker 3: She's a lovely girl that I set up with one
- 8:33Speaker 3: of my rich younger guys. And she was a total delight.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Then she goes on to say something kind of interesting saying,
- 8:41Speaker 3: you guys don't be so harsh on her. Imagine being 23,
- 8:45Speaker 3: which she was at the time of this supposed affair
- 8:47Speaker 3: with Adam. And someone like Adam approaches you, pursues you.
- 8:53Speaker 3: They're so magnetic. They are because they have these superpowers
- 8:57Speaker 3: that major movie stars and major rock stars have. They
- 9:00Speaker 3: have that ability to become a star. And then so
- 9:04Speaker 3: when they shine their light on you, it's just undeniable.
- 9:07Speaker 3: And let's just see where you would be when you
- 9:10Speaker 3: were approached by that. I think there's a lot of women.
- 9:13Speaker 3: throughout their lives that are pretty enough and lucky enough
- 9:16Speaker 3: to have probably gotten together with very famous married men.
- 9:21Speaker 3: Fortunately for the famous married men, there wasn't TikTok at
- 9:24Speaker 3: that time. This kind of reminds me of the whole
- 9:27Speaker 3: Jesse James thing with Sandra Bullock, one of the greatest
- 9:30Speaker 3: Juicy Scoop history stories ever. Not great for Sandra Bullock,
- 9:34Speaker 3: but just like mind blowing because they were this couple
- 9:38Speaker 3: and she was America's sweetheart, beauty queen. And he was
- 9:41Speaker 3: this rough around the edges, but heart of soul, you know,
- 9:45Speaker 3: Long Beach, former kind of gang type of guy that
- 9:49Speaker 3: really was handy and like could fix motorcycles. I don't know.
- 9:54Speaker 3: and he was cheating on her crazy with all these
- 9:57Speaker 3: different porn stars and they'd come to his garage and
- 10:01Speaker 3: have sex with him on his couch. And it all
- 10:03Speaker 3: came out on InTouch back when you had to actually
- 10:06Speaker 3: buy the magazine and read it. These girls didn't have
- 10:09Speaker 3: TikToks to make money. These girls didn't have OnlyFans. They
- 10:12Speaker 3: had to actually drive to Long Beach to get laid
- 10:15Speaker 3: by someone's famous husband. So, you know, all the way
- 10:19Speaker 3: through the snow of Long Beach, trekking along. To get
- 10:23Speaker 3: any kind of receipts that they actually were having contact
- 10:27Speaker 3: with a famous person. Now these girls can just lay
- 10:30Speaker 3: in bed, DM, couple horny married famous people, screen grab it,
- 10:35Speaker 3: save it for a rainy day, decide, you know what?
- 10:37Speaker 3: I've been stuck at 280,000 followers on TikTok for about
- 10:41Speaker 3: three months now. Time I bring out that time Adam
- 10:44Speaker 3: Levine DM'd me and told me about his son that
- 10:47Speaker 3: was coming along the way. I'd like to top it
- 10:50Speaker 3: over to 300. Listen, I'm a thirsty bitch. You saw
- 10:53Speaker 3: me beg to get to 300 on Instagram. I'm very
- 10:56Speaker 3: close to 300 on TikTok. Who do I need to
- 11:00Speaker 3: fuck or DM to get to 300,000 on TikTok, people? Also,
- 11:03Speaker 3: I'm 8,000 away from YouTube.
- 11:04Speaker 4: So.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Looks like someone needs to either approach me or I
- 11:16Speaker 3: need to approach someone else and then spill the beans
- 11:18Speaker 3: just so I can top my numbers. It's hard out
- 11:21Speaker 3: here being a thirsty influencer. Very interesting. And then of course,
- 11:26Speaker 3: Emily Ratajkowski, she's the model who was cheated on by
- 11:33Speaker 3: her husband and She's always got paparazzi taking photos of her.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And now she weighs in saying the husband is to blame.
- 11:44Speaker 3: But also the other, I don't even know. Everyone's saying,
- 11:47Speaker 3: is it just the husband? Husband is the number one
- 11:49Speaker 3: to blame. But also if you're the girl cheating, you
- 11:51Speaker 3: should blame because you can, you know, what I said,
- 11:53Speaker 3: you can just Google and know that they're married. There
- 11:56Speaker 3: you go. But listen, my prediction is Emily's going to
- 12:00Speaker 3: have a podcast. It's coming out. I know it. And
- 12:03Speaker 3: it's going to be called Model Behavior. And the first few,
- 12:08Speaker 3: probably first eight episodes will be about cheating, infidelity, getting
- 12:12Speaker 3: over it. She's going to have therapists on about it.
- 12:14Speaker 3: She's going to have former mistress. She's going to have
- 12:17Speaker 3: people that are recovered cheaters. That's what her show is
- 12:21Speaker 3: going to be about. Prediction. Ding, ding. Okay. Real Housewives
- 12:26Speaker 3: of Beverly Hills. My mind is blown. I'm recording this
- 12:29Speaker 3: on Wednesday, so by this time you'll have watched the
- 12:31Speaker 3: whole episode. The sneak peek, which is a few minutes long.
- 12:35Speaker 3: came out last night and I am shaking. It is
- 12:38Speaker 3: all the women on the private jet leaving Aspen, missing
- 12:42Speaker 3: one person, Kathy. And they all are talking in the
- 12:48Speaker 3: plane as well as doing their interviews and their beautiful outfits,
- 12:52Speaker 3: giving their testimony to what happened that night at the
- 12:56Speaker 3: Caribou Club. We now know that according to Sutton, she said,
- 13:02Speaker 3: Kathy wanted to do the conga line. And nobody wanted
- 13:06Speaker 3: to do the conga line. And she got very upset
- 13:09Speaker 3: by that. And she said, Sutton, if you don't do
- 13:11Speaker 3: the conga line with me, then you got to leave
- 13:14Speaker 3: with me. And if you don't leave with me, then
- 13:15Speaker 3: you're not my friend. And then she said to Kyle, Kyle,
- 13:20Speaker 3: you better leave with me. And Kyle was like, no,
- 13:23Speaker 3: I don't want. So then Lisa Rinna offered to take
- 13:28Speaker 3: her home. And they leave in the sprinter van. And
- 13:32Speaker 3: that is when Lisa Rinna says she freaked out, said
- 13:36Speaker 3: horrible things. And you see Lisa Rinna say this. She
- 13:39Speaker 3: was furious and she said, I'm going to take down Bravo.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I'm going to take down, uh, NBC, maybe she even
- 13:46Speaker 3: threatened about Peacock. I don't know. But she was ready
- 13:49Speaker 3: to take down everything. Very upset. And then she went
- 13:53Speaker 3: on to say, I'm going to take to Kyle is
- 13:56Speaker 3: the way I made Kyle. Kyle has what she has
- 13:59Speaker 3: because of me. And I'm going to take down Kyle's
- 14:02Speaker 3: family and really lashing out at Kyle, which now makes
- 14:05Speaker 3: sense because we've seen previews before where it's Kyle, Kathy
- 14:09Speaker 3: and Lisa Renna being the witness to this behavior kind of.
- 14:13Speaker 3: being like, I don't understand the anger towards her sister.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Have it come out. We, I've also heard rumors from
- 14:19Speaker 3: the reunion that Kyle really takes the fall and protects
- 14:22Speaker 3: Kathy because there's a wedding coming up. I think Kyle's
- 14:25Speaker 3: daughter's getting married and she obviously wants all her family
- 14:28Speaker 3: and the nieces there. Um, this, this just goes so
- 14:32Speaker 3: deep when it comes to sisters. And I mean, I
- 14:35Speaker 3: could talk forever about it. I want to watch the
- 14:37Speaker 3: whole episode and, and think about it more. But, um,
- 14:41Speaker 3: I mean, I believe this happened. I truly believe this happened.
- 14:45Speaker 3: And I just think Kathy is like probably lashing out thinking,
- 14:50Speaker 3: why the fuck did I go on this show? They've
- 14:55Speaker 3: probably been asking her from day one. I know it.
- 14:58Speaker 3: They've been asking her from day one when they got
- 15:00Speaker 3: Kyle and Kim, they wanted the three of them. Um,
- 15:04Speaker 3: but then other people said, no, they only wanted the
- 15:06Speaker 3: two of them because they felt the three would be
- 15:08Speaker 3: too much of them. Now I told you the three
- 15:11Speaker 3: of them were trying to get their own show. So
- 15:13Speaker 3: whether Kathy was never asked or Kathy chose to stay,
- 15:17Speaker 3: stay behind. And then 10 years later was like, you
- 15:20Speaker 3: know what? Maybe this will be fun. I have a
- 15:22Speaker 3: new face. My, you know, my daughter got married. People
- 15:26Speaker 3: are loving me. Maybe I'm ready to show my quirky,
- 15:29Speaker 3: funny side, but she's also been married forever, very rich,
- 15:34Speaker 3: very entitled, and might also have a temper that her
- 15:38Speaker 3: friends and people around her never see. So just because
- 15:44Speaker 3: someone was nice to you doesn't mean that they can
- 15:46Speaker 3: treat their siblings different. As someone who has a serial sister,
- 15:50Speaker 3: I certainly have been lashed out at too many times
- 15:58Speaker 3: to count. So I, but other times that can happen
- 16:02Speaker 3: and sisters get back together. And, but you know, they've
- 16:04Speaker 3: also had their big breaks and, you know, it's very
- 16:07Speaker 3: much whatever happened to baby Jane and Kathy and Kim
- 16:10Speaker 3: really had the more illustrious careers. And maybe they feel
- 16:13Speaker 3: Kyle got to like have a more fun, normal childhood.
- 16:17Speaker 3: And Kyle is now the biggest star of the three
- 16:19Speaker 3: of them. They were so jealous when Kyle sold her
- 16:22Speaker 3: show to ABC about their life. And, It's just so much,
- 16:27Speaker 3: but what is my favorite part about being a real
- 16:30Speaker 3: Housewives fan is the deep, deep relationships, especially when it
- 16:34Speaker 3: involves siblings or sister-in-laws like New Jersey or the Manzos
- 16:39Speaker 3: and all of that. It's what it was built on,
- 16:42Speaker 3: and it's like, whoo-hoo-hoo. So, so good. Yeah, I got
- 16:49Speaker 3: chills from that. Okay, The Bachelorette, I barely watched it.
- 16:53Speaker 3: It was two girls, a huge mistake. Jesse Palmer, such
- 16:57Speaker 3: a boring, awful host. Anyway, the one girl, Gabby, with
- 17:01Speaker 3: her voice like this, she's on Dancing with the Stars,
- 17:04Speaker 3: and she's really happy because she did fall in love.
- 17:08Speaker 3: There was only one guy left at the end, and
- 17:09Speaker 3: they got engaged, and it was really hard, but it
- 17:12Speaker 3: was really special. Anyway, it came out, someone got his yearbook,
- 17:16Speaker 3: and he made an unfortunate mistake of going as Jimi Hendrix.
- 17:23Speaker 3: to a Halloween party in high school and they got
- 17:26Speaker 3: a photo of it and he is blackface. And she's
- 17:29Speaker 3: on Dancing with the Stars and they're going to grow
- 17:31Speaker 3: from it. Oh my God. Then the other girl, she
- 17:37Speaker 3: got a guy and she was all happy about it.
- 17:40Speaker 3: And then while they were engaged and watching the show
- 17:45Speaker 3: and being secretive, he went to a bar and ran
- 17:48Speaker 3: into a girl that he used to date before he
- 17:50Speaker 3: went on the show and he made out with her.
- 17:53Speaker 3: and was dumb enough to tell the girl, what's the
- 17:55Speaker 3: other girl's name? Gabby and Rachel. He goes on to
- 17:59Speaker 3: tell Rachel. So then Rachel has him come over, and
- 18:03Speaker 3: they go to the Airbnb in LA, and we film it.
- 18:07Speaker 3: And he has his notebook there, and he says, Rachel,
- 18:11Speaker 3: you said you didn't want to wear the ring anymore.
- 18:13Speaker 3: You said, if we break up, would I want to
- 18:16Speaker 3: be the bachelor? And I said, no. And you were
- 18:19Speaker 3: constantly like, it sounds to me, that she was kind
- 18:23Speaker 3: of a nightmare. And while they were engaged and dating
- 18:28Speaker 3: but had to be separate due to their contracts and
- 18:31Speaker 3: watching her date other people, all the insecurities were bubbling up.
- 18:36Speaker 3: And actually, she was more insecure than he and was
- 18:39Speaker 3: probably constantly telling him that she wanted to break up
- 18:42Speaker 3: or wasn't sure. And at one point, he went to
- 18:45Speaker 3: a bar and got drunk and made out with this
- 18:47Speaker 3: girl and then told her about it. He wanted to
- 18:50Speaker 3: still stay together, but at that point, she was like, what?
- 18:52Speaker 3: I'm so confused. You're gaslighting me. You're gaslighting me. He's like, how? Anyway,
- 18:57Speaker 3: they broke up, and at the end, her runner-up came up,
- 19:00Speaker 3: and now she's dating him. You absolutely missed nothing this season.
- 19:04Speaker 3: I don't know. I think the show's in trouble. I
- 19:06Speaker 3: think it maybe has run its course. All right, you guys.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Remember HeatherMcDonald.net for all of my dates as well as Patreon.
- 19:15Speaker 3: So juicy. And I'm going to put some extra episodes
- 19:20Speaker 3: up this weekend to just fill you guys in on
- 19:23Speaker 3: what it really is like to be on the road
- 19:25Speaker 3: with Justin and Chris. Anyway, so here we go with
- 19:30Speaker 3: a very special interview. Looking for a.

- 19:53Speaker 7: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 19:56Speaker 7: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 19:59Speaker 7: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 20:04Speaker 7: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Life is one long lesson of chaos.
- 20:09Speaker 4: I'm heading to the Emmys, and I have police complaints
- 20:12Speaker 4: filed against me.
- 20:13Speaker 1: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 20:15Speaker 1: what would you do if it was given back?
- 20:17Speaker 7: Where did that need come from, where you thought that
- 20:20Speaker 7: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 20:23Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad. I need a
- 20:24Speaker 5: home dad. What happens next? When I came in, he
- 20:27Speaker 5: started crying. Everybody in life encounters hardships.
- 20:30Speaker 7: What defines them is not those hard moments that they
- 20:33Speaker 7: go through.
- 20:34Speaker 5: It's about what happens next.
- 20:36Speaker 4: I decided to risk it all.
- 20:37Speaker 5: I realized how valuable every day was. You're worth the work.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Listen, Dara, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 20:42Speaker 6: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 20:45Speaker 7: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 20:48Speaker 7: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 20:59Speaker 3: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I'm very excited to
- 21:02Speaker 3: speak to a hilarious impressionist that I found, the queen
- 21:06Speaker 3: of the Kardashians. You've probably seen her on Instagram and TikTok,
- 21:10Speaker 3: Yuri Godinez. I'm very excited to have you on here.
- 21:14Speaker 3: I came across you for a while and I'm so
- 21:17Speaker 3: glad I reached out. How are you doing?
- 21:20Speaker 4: I'm doing good. Thank you so much for having me.
- 21:22Speaker 4: I am a huge fan of your podcast and your
- 21:25Speaker 4: YouTube videos. I love Juicy Scoop. It's amazing.
- 21:28Speaker 8: So I'm very honored to be here with you.
- 21:32Speaker 3: You're so sweet. Well, you're absolutely beautiful. You have black hair,
- 21:35Speaker 3: big chocolate eyes. So in doing the Kardashians, it's really
- 21:39Speaker 3: great because you do all of them and each voice
- 21:43Speaker 3: is so different and you really capture their essence. But
- 21:47Speaker 3: then you look like them, like you look like you
- 21:49Speaker 3: could be, you know, one of the sisters. So it
- 21:53Speaker 3: really is. So I think that's also what helps sometimes
- 21:56Speaker 3: with an impression. If you kind of resemble the person.
- 22:01Speaker 3: Oftentimes when someone's a really good impressionist too, they just
- 22:05Speaker 3: embody them so much that you're like, oh my God,
- 22:06Speaker 3: your face sort of changed. So how did you start
- 22:11Speaker 3: to do impressions and how did this all begin? Because
- 22:16Speaker 3: you're quite the sensation.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 22:20Speaker 8: So I want to say this started about a year ago.
- 22:24Speaker 4: March 2021 is when I made my very first Kardashian
- 22:27Speaker 4: parody And before that, I had always been told that
- 22:31Speaker 4: I sound like a valley girl. I never knew what
- 22:33Speaker 4: that meant because I'm born and raised here in Florida.
- 22:35Speaker 4: I never knew what a valley girl meant. And I
- 22:38Speaker 4: was like, what does that mean? And they say.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Well, you know I'm a valley girl.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 3: I'm a real valley girl, like born, raised, still here, yes.
- 22:48Speaker 3: So that's so funny.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:49Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'm like, I don't know. I've never.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I've been to California like one time and I would
- 22:55Speaker 4: get that a lot. And then... Through that, I would
- 22:58Speaker 4: get a couple of little people telling me that I
- 23:02Speaker 4: kind of sound like the Kardashians. And I love the Kardashians,
- 23:05Speaker 4: by the way. I've always watched their Keeping Up, and
- 23:08Speaker 4: now I love their brand new Hulu series. So I
- 23:12Speaker 4: just wanted to see if I could actually do it.
- 23:15Speaker 4: And I think what I'm really good at is capturing
- 23:18Speaker 4: their mannerisms. So I feel like that's a lot of it.
- 23:22Speaker 4: And then once you can get that, the voice kind
- 23:24Speaker 4: of just comes with it. And that's how it started.
- 23:27Speaker 4: And I was like, Oh my God, I think I
- 23:29Speaker 4: can actually do this. And then, um, as you saw,
- 23:32Speaker 4: I was a hit on Tik TOK and I just,
- 23:34Speaker 4: I kept doing it and I kept doing it. And
- 23:35Speaker 4: I just, I feel like I'm getting better. And now
- 23:38Speaker 4: I like, I study them. Like I almost feel like I,
- 23:40Speaker 4: every time I watch them, I just, I study their
- 23:43Speaker 4: mannerisms and their octaves when they go high and low
- 23:46Speaker 4: and their tones. And it's just, it comes, it became
- 23:48Speaker 4: like a science to me, but I love them. And
- 23:51Speaker 4: that's kind of how it evolves.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Um, you know, I do a lot of impressions too. And,
- 23:56Speaker 3: Everybody does them different and sometimes someone does it and
- 24:00Speaker 3: then people sometimes copy that impression like, oh, I never
- 24:04Speaker 3: thought of doing that person or whatever. And it's all
- 24:08Speaker 3: great because I feel like everybody does something different or
- 24:11Speaker 3: someone really gets the voice down perfectly. But someone else
- 24:15Speaker 3: who doesn't do the voice that great can come up
- 24:17Speaker 3: with funnier stuff. And I like the way you cut
- 24:21Speaker 3: it and have the two girls talking to each other.
- 24:23Speaker 3: You know, the sisters like shaking their salads and just
- 24:26Speaker 3: having a convo. And I saw that you did get
- 24:29Speaker 3: the fancy Baccarat Chris and Kylie beautiful PR kit, which
- 24:37Speaker 3: I did not receive. Those days are gone. But what
- 24:42Speaker 3: how did they discover you and how did you get
- 24:45Speaker 3: in their good graces besides doing them? So I think
- 24:49Speaker 3: in a very funny, flattering way.
- 24:51Speaker 4: Thank you. Well, I, I definitely love the Kardashians. So I,
- 24:55Speaker 4: I am so grateful that I'm in their good graces.
- 24:58Speaker 4: And I, every time I, I do a parody, in
- 25:00Speaker 4: my opinion, I do not really focus on like things
- 25:04Speaker 4: that are very negative or like their actual traumas. You know,
- 25:08Speaker 4: I really kind of mimic their like mundane conversations of like,
- 25:12Speaker 4: you know, irrelevant things and how it's just dramatized on,
- 25:18Speaker 4: on television for, yeah, for the show. And I think
- 25:21Speaker 4: that's how I was able to do it, but I,
- 25:23Speaker 4: I just love them. And this is actually the first
- 25:27Speaker 4: PR kit that I got from Kylie cosmetics. And I
- 25:33Speaker 4: been told, so who was it? I think it was
- 25:35Speaker 4: Kim Douglas. Kim Douglas is friends with Chris Jenner.
- 25:40Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:41Speaker 3: She's great.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah. And I think I'm pretty sure she kind of
- 25:47Speaker 4: showed Chris Jenner some of my videos and And someone
- 25:50Speaker 4: had told me on Instagram that they show Scott my videos,
- 25:54Speaker 4: Scott Disick, and he thinks I'm really funny. And then
- 25:58Speaker 4: it was about two or three Instagram posts, videos of parodies.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Chloe Kardashian actually commented on them. So I think she
- 26:06Speaker 4: really kind of brought me into their chat or whatever.
- 26:11Speaker 4: And then Kim has reposted one of my videos and
- 26:15Speaker 4: Courtney has also reposted one of my videos. So I
- 26:17Speaker 4: think I don't really know exactly when they found out
- 26:20Speaker 4: about me, but I think, I think that they are
- 26:23Speaker 4: really good at, you know, they can, they're lighthearted jokes
- 26:25Speaker 4: and they, they take it very well. And I love that.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, I always said that in the early
- 26:31Speaker 3: days of Chelsea, like they just were always so down
- 26:34Speaker 3: for like when we would do impressions and parodies of
- 26:37Speaker 3: them and everything. And so, um, and I even think
- 26:40Speaker 3: more than ever, they're like in on the joke now
- 26:43Speaker 3: and are like, you know, who cares? So let's get
- 26:46Speaker 3: into it. So I have some questions for all the
- 26:49Speaker 3: girls in which you're going to answer them. If I
- 26:53Speaker 3: had the opportunity to interview all, one, two, three, four, five,
- 26:57Speaker 3: six of, that's the five girls and the mama, Chris.
- 27:02Speaker 3: So here we go. We're going to start out. Let's
- 27:06Speaker 3: start out with, let's start out with Courtney first, because
- 27:08Speaker 3: a lot of people are talking about this. I am
- 27:11Speaker 3: here with Courtney Kardashian. Courtney, Thank you so much for
- 27:15Speaker 3: coming on the show. I think everybody just wants to
- 27:17Speaker 3: know after your latest post, are you pregnant?
- 27:26Speaker 4: No, I'm not. Yeah.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So the Lemmy gummies, are there any prenatal Lemmy gummies
- 27:39Speaker 3: that you are hawking to get people to maybe get
- 27:42Speaker 3: pregnant or get yourself pregnant?
- 27:46Speaker 4: I really think that there's some science that will develop
- 27:53Speaker 4: and it'll be just gluten-free. So stay tuned.
- 28:05Speaker 3: I love that. And I also love that you're such
- 28:08Speaker 3: a caring mother about your kids' health. And you recently
- 28:10Speaker 3: did an interview where you revealed that poor Mason is
- 28:14Speaker 3: has not been able to have French fries for a year.
- 28:16Speaker 3: How do you see the future of his fry ordering happening?
- 28:20Speaker 4: Yeah. There's fries that aren't filled with disgusting chemicals. And
- 28:31Speaker 4: Mason can indulge in a sugar-free, gluten-free, taste-free sweet potato dish.
- 28:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I love that. My favorite fries are sweet potato fries.
- 28:47Speaker 3: I don't know why we only discovered them like eight
- 28:49Speaker 3: years ago. So good for you.
- 28:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Okay. Now I'm so happy that Kim's in the room.
- 28:55Speaker 3: I have some questions for Kim. Oh, my girl, Kimmy,
- 29:00Speaker 3: what a couple of weeks you've had with your ex-co-parenting delight, Kanye.
- 29:07Speaker 3: How do you feel about the whole school? Are you
- 29:10Speaker 3: going to take them out of their present school and
- 29:12Speaker 3: put them into a Donda University or what?
- 29:17Speaker 4: You know, I think Kanye is very driven, you know, but,
- 29:28Speaker 4: you know, I don't really know if that's something for
- 29:34Speaker 4: my kids, but it's a conversation. Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I love that. I think you guys are really making
- 29:43Speaker 3: some strides. Now, how is the law school going? I
- 29:48Speaker 3: know you passed the baby bar, but now we're, I mean,
- 29:51Speaker 3: I don't even know how you have time to make
- 29:52Speaker 3: the flashcards. What's happening?
- 29:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:56Speaker 4: So I passed my baby bar and everyone. And, you know,
- 30:03Speaker 4: I'm about two more years left. So I really think
- 30:09Speaker 4: in in about seven or eight years, I'll be right
- 30:13Speaker 4: there with the lawyers and the doctors.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. Speaking of lawyers and doctors, you're recently I
- 30:23Speaker 3: think on James Corden looking very svelte, very skinny. I
- 30:27Speaker 3: like the new bodies you guys are doing. Um, but, uh,
- 30:33Speaker 3: who are you going to date now? You've done the
- 30:35Speaker 3: Pete Davidson thing. You've done the skinny tattooed guy. You've
- 30:37Speaker 3: done the rapper. You've done the professional football player. You've
- 30:41Speaker 3: done your first husband was also into music. So who
- 30:45Speaker 3: do you see yourself dating next, Kim?
- 30:50Speaker 4: You know, I really think I want to get into
- 30:56Speaker 4: the Nesta, uh, and the astronauts and the really geeky science,
- 31:03Speaker 4: you know, science freaks. I think it'll be really cool.
- 31:11Speaker 4: And I'm just DTF.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Kim. I actually really love that because
- 31:18Speaker 3: that is a whole area that nobody's touched upon in
- 31:21Speaker 3: your family as far as significant others are people from space.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Would you ever consider like, a full blown different species,
- 31:30Speaker 3: like an alien type of person. Cause obviously we're eventually
- 31:34Speaker 3: going to have to, um, you know, you guys are
- 31:36Speaker 3: probably going to start building a community on Mars. I'm
- 31:38Speaker 3: sure like a cute cul-de-sac for all the Ks. So
- 31:41Speaker 3: with that is, are you open to someone that's not human?
- 31:46Speaker 3: You know, I.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Would really be down for that. And I'm really excited
- 31:55Speaker 4: about Mars and, I think we can find some anti-aging
- 32:00Speaker 4: supplements or things there.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Yeah. So great. I see that Chloe just came in
- 32:11Speaker 3: from HealthNet. Hi, Chloe.
- 32:13Speaker 4: Hi, doll.
- 32:15Speaker 8: Hi.
- 32:18Speaker 3: I feel like Chloe, no offense to you, Chloe, but
- 32:22Speaker 3: I always just feel like you really have a lot
- 32:25Speaker 3: of opinions about your sisters and you really don't share
- 32:28Speaker 3: that much about yourself. So I'm going to go right
- 32:30Speaker 3: to just asking you about your sisters. And how do
- 32:33Speaker 3: you feel about Kim's new purchase of her beautiful $ 70
- 32:36Speaker 3: million Malibu mansion?
- 32:38Speaker 4: I love Kimberly. I think she's great. But... She wants
- 32:48Speaker 4: to buy Cindy Crawford's old home. That's totally fine, babe.
- 32:54Speaker 4: Whatever Kimberly wants, I just want her to be happy,
- 33:01Speaker 4: if that makes sense.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It totally makes sense. And you're such a giving sister.
- 33:05Speaker 3: I just asked your sister, Kim, about who she wants
- 33:08Speaker 3: to date. Who do you think she should date next?
- 33:15Speaker 4: I just want Kimberly. To be happy.
- 33:19Speaker 8: So I think the astronaut thing is totally great.
- 33:23Speaker 4: Whatever she wants, babe. Totally about her happiness. I am
- 33:28Speaker 4: just here for Kimberly.
- 33:32Speaker 3: And, you know, Chloe, you really have one of the
- 33:33Speaker 3: most successful businesses of the sisters. Good American. I see
- 33:37Speaker 3: it everywhere in Nordstrom. People swear by it. Did it
- 33:43Speaker 3: bother you that your sister... Courtney did a collab with
- 33:47Speaker 3: a whole nother clothing company called Boohoo. Was it Boohoo
- 33:50Speaker 3: or Booboo?
- 33:51Speaker 4: I think it's Booboo.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:55Speaker 4: I actually have never seen the collection and whatever Courtney
- 34:01Speaker 4: wants to do, it's totally fine. Good American will always
- 34:07Speaker 4: be sustainable. And yeah, Courtney missed out on a great opportunity.
- 34:15Speaker 3: I totally, totally agree. Oh, your mom, Chris, just came in. Hi, Chris.
- 34:23Speaker 3: How are you? You look great.
- 34:25Speaker 4: Hi, doll.
- 34:26Speaker 3: So good to see you. So many people are asking about, obviously,
- 34:31Speaker 3: you went on James Corden, you took a lie detector
- 34:35Speaker 3: test saying that you did not participate in the sale
- 34:39Speaker 3: of sex tape. We've heard from Ray J., I personally
- 34:43Speaker 3: don't really think you orchestrated it. I think maybe there was,
- 34:48Speaker 3: you know, some stuff on their part that might've been, um,
- 34:53Speaker 3: a little manipulated, but I just want to ask you yourself, like, is,
- 34:57Speaker 3: does it bother you that people still think that you
- 34:59Speaker 3: somehow are in the editing bay picking out, um, the
- 35:03Speaker 3: best clips of your daughter having sex with Ray J?
- 35:08Speaker 4: Absolutely. I, um, cannot imagine as the mother that somebody
- 35:17Speaker 4: could do that. It's just insane, doll. I have no
- 35:22Speaker 4: idea how this happened. And I really have no idea
- 35:27Speaker 4: what's going on.
- 35:28Speaker 3: I know that makes so much sense because you never
- 35:31Speaker 3: really know what's going on in your daughter's lives. But
- 35:35Speaker 3: so what is your plan to deal with Raja? He's
- 35:37Speaker 3: really turned out to be not the delightful ex-boyfriend we
- 35:40Speaker 3: all thought he was.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Not really. You know, we thought he was a team
- 35:47Speaker 4: player and now he just wants to play on a
- 35:52Speaker 4: different team. Like that's not part of the contract. So
- 35:59Speaker 4: we might have to just sue. Hey, what do you think?
- 36:04Speaker 3: Um, I mean, I think it's definitely a violation. I
- 36:07Speaker 3: would never include him in another Christmas party again, for sure, Chris.
- 36:12Speaker 3: You don't need that. And there's so many other nicer
- 36:16Speaker 3: ex-boyfriends floating around that you can still include in your life.
- 36:20Speaker 3: So I say, yeah, dump that.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Not nice. I can only handle one Scott Disick in
- 36:27Speaker 4: my life.
- 36:28Speaker 3: And you're such a great ex-mother-in-law to... Scott Disick and Lamar, everybody,
- 36:35Speaker 3: you are the greatest ex-mother-in-law to all these boys. And
- 36:38Speaker 3: I have always said that. Is that something that you
- 36:41Speaker 3: really take pride in?
- 36:44Speaker 4: Absolutely. I am a manager, but I am a mother first, always, doll.
- 36:51Speaker 4: As long as it's 10%, I'm the mother.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Absolutely. Now, Chris, I'm here talking to your favorite daughter, Kylie.
- 37:01Speaker 3: And I know why she's the favorite. It's because she
- 37:03Speaker 3: is the richest. And I think that's completely fair. Any
- 37:07Speaker 3: mother that has numerous children, their favorite is the richest.
- 37:12Speaker 3: And you and Kylie just did your great collab, which
- 37:15Speaker 3: I love. But Kylie, I need to ask you.
- 37:22Speaker 7: Hi.
- 37:23Speaker 3: I love your new collab. It's so beautiful, the packaging.
- 37:26Speaker 4: Thank you. I love it.
- 37:31Speaker 3: And we love seeing Stormy. But when will we ever
- 37:35Speaker 3: find out what your son's name is?
- 37:41Speaker 4: We still are deciding on a name.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Okay.
- 37:50Speaker 4: So we call him like different things like a million
- 37:57Speaker 4: or a billion.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Oh, that's cute.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Yeah. And one day maybe we'll decide on a name.
- 38:09Speaker 3: I thought maybe it would come out like, you know,
- 38:15Speaker 3: like for the Hulu second season premiere or something like that.
- 38:18Speaker 3: You maybe work a PR move about it. But now
- 38:20Speaker 3: at this point, I'm going to guess that maybe you're
- 38:23Speaker 3: going to wait to announce the name once you do
- 38:25Speaker 3: a makeup, a makeup collab with your own son. Is
- 38:28Speaker 3: that something you guys are working on?
- 38:30Speaker 5: Oops.
- 38:32Speaker 4: That would be amazing. I love that idea. Heather?
- 38:39Speaker 3: Do you have any upcoming collabs with people in the future?
- 38:45Speaker 4: I do. My next one is with Stormi. I love her.
- 38:55Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Yeah, Stormi does have such a vibe. I mean, she
- 39:00Speaker 3: really is I think she might be the cutest one,
- 39:05Speaker 3: but you didn't hear me say that. What is Stormi's
- 39:09Speaker 3: next birthday party theme going to be? Because you throw
- 39:11Speaker 3: the most epic parties for her.
- 39:15Speaker 4: She's really into makeup right now.
- 39:20Speaker 3: Shocking, yeah.
- 39:20Speaker 4: She's only six, but it's time already.
- 39:29Speaker 5: So.
- 39:30Speaker 4: more like a Kylie cosmetics party with cocktails.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Yeah. With like baby cocktails and adult cocktails and a
- 39:43Speaker 3: lot of makeup, baby makeup and adult makeup. I like it.
- 39:46Speaker 3: I don't know why more parents aren't doing that quite honestly.
- 39:50Speaker 3: probably a lot of balloons too, I'm assuming. I love it.
- 39:55Speaker 3: And Kendall, hello, Kendall. Gosh, sometimes I feel we don't
- 40:01Speaker 3: talk to you enough. But how are you doing, Kendall?
- 40:06Speaker 3: I'm good.
- 40:06Speaker 4: I'm doing so good. I'm actually doing like literally, like
- 40:10Speaker 4: actually doing amazing, like so, so good. Like I probably
- 40:15Speaker 4: never felt better. I'm probably doing better than everybody else.
- 40:19Speaker 4: That's how good I'm feeling.
- 40:21Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, that's great to hear. I mean, you
- 40:24Speaker 3: two are the entrepreneur. You, along with 20 or 47
- 40:28Speaker 3: other celebrities, have your own tequila, 818, which is very
- 40:32Speaker 3: dear to my heart because I'm a born and raised 818-er,
- 40:35Speaker 3: just like you, Kendall, till we die. And recently, you
- 40:40Speaker 3: got a lot of free press from out of the
- 40:44Speaker 3: drama that's happening over on Beverly Hills. They all went
- 40:48Speaker 3: to Aspen, and Lisa Renna referred to you as her friend,
- 40:54Speaker 3: and she said, let me try some of my friend
- 40:57Speaker 3: Kendall Jenner's 818 tequila, which really pissed off Kathy Hilton.
- 41:01Speaker 3: How long have you and Lisa Renna been friends for?
- 41:03Speaker 4: Well, you know, we talk all the time on DMs.
- 41:08Speaker 4: I've never really actually met her. I probably... I probably
- 41:11Speaker 4: don't know exactly what she looks like, but I think
- 41:15Speaker 4: I've heard the name. Okay. And I'm pretty sure she's
- 41:17Speaker 4: been in my DMs, maybe mainly a more one-sided conversation,
- 41:23Speaker 4: but I'm really not sure. I'm so busy traveling the world,
- 41:26Speaker 4: you know, doing modeling stuff. You know, if she says
- 41:28Speaker 4: she's my friend, I totally believe her. I think she's
- 41:32Speaker 4: a great person. Her name sounds great. And yeah, I
- 41:36Speaker 4: think she's probably... a good person, if that's what she says,
- 41:40Speaker 4: I will totally believe, you know, just whatever she says.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Well, I just realized that her daughter, Amelia, dated your
- 41:48Speaker 3: former brother-in-law, even though they were never married, Scott Disick.
- 41:53Speaker 3: Do you remember that when Scott Disick was dating Amelia Gray?
- 41:56Speaker 4: How old is she?
- 42:01Speaker 3: She's 20. So they broke up like a couple months ago.
- 42:05Speaker 4: I might remember that. I might remember that she was
- 42:08Speaker 4: a very nice girl and she's very sweet. I might've,
- 42:11Speaker 4: I might've.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Anyway, um, Lisa Rita, I fricking love that tequila girl. No, she, um,
- 42:20Speaker 3: your tequila is great. I mean, I still have to
- 42:23Speaker 3: try it, Kendall, but I will try it. And, and
- 42:26Speaker 3: who are you dating now? I can't keep track. Aren't
- 42:29Speaker 3: you with a basketball player or something?
- 42:32Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 4: And I love basketball. Something that people really don't know
- 42:36Speaker 4: about me is that I love sports. It's like I
- 42:38Speaker 4: watch sports all the time. I can't remember which basketball
- 42:41Speaker 4: team he's on. I really can't remember his number or
- 42:44Speaker 4: any of his teammates' players' numbers. I really don't remember
- 42:48Speaker 4: where he plays or who he plays for, but I
- 42:51Speaker 4: love basketball. I watch it all the time. Like me
- 42:54Speaker 4: and my friends, we spent a Friday night and we
- 42:57Speaker 4: opened up my big screen movie theater just to watch
- 43:00Speaker 4: the game, you know, crack open some beers. I don't
- 43:02Speaker 4: know the name of any beers right now, but, and
- 43:04Speaker 4: also 818, you know, and 818 is amazing. And it's
- 43:07Speaker 4: probably one of the best, most authentic, most genuine tequilas
- 43:12Speaker 4: out there. There's nothing in the world that tastes like it.
- 43:15Speaker 4: It probably genuinely, no, actually it's probably the best.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, in the words of Lisa Renner, she said, Oh, Oof. Sweet.
- 43:26Speaker 3: Real sweet. It's a sweeter tequila.
- 43:28Speaker 8: I like that.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Yeah, it might be kind of sweet, too.
- 43:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 43:30Speaker 4: I've never really tried it myself.
- 43:32Speaker 8: But I definitely think it's the best thing out there.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Gosh, you are a great spokesperson. And you're such like
- 43:40Speaker 3: a guy's girl. I can tell. You're loving sports and stuff.
- 43:44Speaker 3: You're just like such a casual, down-to-earth girl.
- 43:49Speaker 4: I'm probably the most... the most literally like actually relatable
- 43:53Speaker 4: person out here.
- 43:54Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 4: I love just the simple things, a chill day, you know,
- 44:00Speaker 4: in my Maserati or in my G wagon.
- 44:03Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Just, you know, reading a book that I probably drive
- 44:07Speaker 4: and buy. Yeah. While I'm driving and I get driven
- 44:11Speaker 4: to places too, you know, when I don't feel like
- 44:13Speaker 4: driving that and, you know, reading a book that probably
- 44:17Speaker 4: was sent to me in the mail, you know, just,
- 44:19Speaker 4: just to read and wearing my $ 2, 000 Balenciaga jeans, extremely relatable.
- 44:26Speaker 4: Like I love the simple things.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Totally.
- 44:30Speaker 5: Totally.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I love that about you. Well, I'm so excited about
- 44:34Speaker 3: your family and they're the, when does the Hulu show
- 44:37Speaker 3: come out this week?
- 44:39Speaker 4: I can't really remember. I would ask my mom because
- 44:43Speaker 4: I'm out, you know, probably just watching, you know, just
- 44:45Speaker 4: doing chill, fun stuff. I want to say it's September
- 44:49Speaker 4: 22nd exclusively on Hulu.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Well, why don't we just bring Chris back to end
- 44:54Speaker 3: this and she can give us all the details. Can
- 44:57Speaker 3: you just get your mom real quick?
- 45:01Speaker 8: Okay.
- 45:05Speaker 3: Hi, Chris. Can you just tell all the juicy scoopers
- 45:07Speaker 3: when they can watch the show?
- 45:09Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, yes. We are going to be exclusively
- 45:12Speaker 4: on Hulu. Everybody cancel their Netflix account because they're going down, sweeties.
- 45:18Speaker 4: And it's going to be on Hulu on September 22nd,
- 45:21Speaker 4: 9 p.m. Pacific Standard Time, 12 a.m. the next day,
- 45:28Speaker 4: Eastern Standard Time, babe. I love it.
- 45:33Speaker 3: I love it. So good, girl. Now we're back to
- 45:37Speaker 3: the original.
- 45:39Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh.
- 45:39Speaker 3: Thank you. That was so fun. I love doing improvs.
- 45:42Speaker 3: I knew you'd kill it. Really great. I'm glad that you.
- 45:46Speaker 4: You're so funny, too. Like, I'm going to take some
- 45:48Speaker 4: of your jokes.
- 45:49Speaker 3: They're the best. Well, I love the Kardashians, too. I
- 45:54Speaker 3: talk a lot about them, you know, whenever they're in
- 45:57Speaker 3: the news. I like that they are just an interesting
- 46:01Speaker 3: bunch of people. And I love that they love your talent.
- 46:05Speaker 3: I think that's great. So tell everybody where they can
- 46:08Speaker 3: follow you so they can enjoy every time you put
- 46:10Speaker 3: out new stuff.
- 46:12Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 46:13Speaker 4: So you can follow me on TikTok. It's at Yuri Lamasbella.
- 46:18Speaker 4: And I go on live almost every day there on TikTok.
- 46:21Speaker 4: I think I engage with my audience and my followers
- 46:24Speaker 4: so much on TikTok. And I also have the same
- 46:26Speaker 4: handles for Instagram and Facebook and Twitter. It's Yuri Lamasbella.
- 46:30Speaker 4: Go ahead and follow me there. There's tons of new
- 46:33Speaker 4: content coming out, especially for this season. I get inspired
- 46:37Speaker 4: every single day by the Kardashians. So stay tuned for
- 46:40Speaker 4: all the new content. And thank you so much for
- 46:43Speaker 4: having me. You're so funny. I love Juicy Scoop. I
- 46:47Speaker 4: love everything you're doing. Like, it's amazing. And you're so pretty.
- 46:52Speaker 3: Thank you. And good luck. I really appreciate you coming on.
- 46:56Speaker 3: I'm excited to see, be following you and just enjoy
- 46:59Speaker 3: you so much. And you're a young mother too, right?
- 47:02Speaker 3: You have a little child?
- 47:04Speaker 4: Yeah, my son is a year.
- 47:05Speaker 3: He's so cute. Yeah, once in a while he gets
- 47:09Speaker 3: featured a little bit as like a baby cast member,
- 47:12Speaker 3: which I love. I love that you have access to
- 47:14Speaker 3: a baby.
- 47:16Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 47:17Speaker 3: Yeah, so cute. Take care. Thank you so much.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you. Have a good one.
- 47:24Speaker 3: So now for my return favorite, Matt Murphy. I asked
- 47:28Speaker 3: him some really juicy questions about Sherry Papini and Jeffrey
- 47:31Speaker 3: Dahmer and Dirty John. So let's get into it. Hello
- 47:36Speaker 3: and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I have returned guest, Matt Murphy.
- 47:41Speaker 3: How are you? Prosecutor, 2020 delight consultant. What's your other show?
- 47:48Speaker 3: Fatal Flaw, soon to be author. How has your life changed?
- 47:53Speaker 3: Since you made your appearance on Juicy Scoop a couple
- 47:56Speaker 3: months ago.
- 47:57Speaker 5: That was actually a lot of fun. I doubled my
- 48:00Speaker 5: Instagram following. So you are very popular.
- 48:04Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 48:04Speaker 5: A lot of really nice comments, although there was somebody
- 48:06Speaker 5: that weighed in and was like, that guy talks way
- 48:09Speaker 5: too much.
- 48:11Speaker 3: There are a couple people always. There's a couple people
- 48:14Speaker 3: that watch my show every week that hate me. It
- 48:16Speaker 3: just happens. I don't know what to tell you.
- 48:19Speaker 5: It's ruthless. It's a hard place, but 99% of the
- 48:23Speaker 5: comments were.
- 48:24Speaker 3: Actually very positive. 99% are always nice. We're going to
- 48:27Speaker 3: get into a bunch of juicy topics, but I wanted
- 48:30Speaker 3: to get your thoughts as a prosecutor. How do you
- 48:35Speaker 3: feel about the whole Sherry Papini story? My audience is
- 48:38Speaker 3: very up on everything. I'm obsessed with anyone faking a
- 48:43Speaker 3: crime for attention. She just got 18 months. What are
- 48:48Speaker 3: your thoughts on it?
- 48:50Speaker 5: Well, it's awful, right? And I think 18 months is
- 48:53Speaker 5: just about right. I was worried that she wasn't going
- 48:56Speaker 5: to do any time. And this is one of those things,
- 48:58Speaker 5: the amount of resources that she wasted. You know, the
- 49:03Speaker 5: sheriff's department in her county actually did a phenomenal job
- 49:06Speaker 5: of tracking the whole thing down. But her story, when
- 49:08Speaker 5: she showed up, and of course, it's this ex-boyfriend that
- 49:11Speaker 5: she goes and hangs out with in Huntington Beach.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 49:14Speaker 5: But they came and they blamed, they tried to throw
- 49:16Speaker 5: shade on the sheriff's department who had done everything right.
- 49:20Speaker 3: You mean her defense team?
- 49:21Speaker 5: Yes, her defense team. And that was, I thought that
- 49:24Speaker 5: was a huge mistake.
- 49:25Speaker 3: How were they throwing shade on them?
- 49:27Speaker 5: There was something like, you know, the sheriff's should have,
- 49:30Speaker 5: you know, if they'd put this together faster, maybe the
- 49:34Speaker 5: resources wouldn't have been wasted. It was some sort of
- 49:35Speaker 5: comment like that.
- 49:36Speaker 3: Oh my God. Yes.
- 49:37Speaker 5: Oh my God. And so... You know, her lead counsel,
- 49:42Speaker 5: I was actually impressed with the job he did. And
- 49:45Speaker 5: she could have done more than 18 months, certainly. But
- 49:47Speaker 5: it's just a horrific waste of resources. It's narcissism on
- 49:54Speaker 5: the highest level. And this is a woman that absolutely
- 49:58Speaker 5: deserves to take that hit. And I think that 18
- 50:02Speaker 5: months in prison is well deserved.
- 50:04Speaker 3: What I'm dying to know, and I don't know that
- 50:06Speaker 3: we'll ever know, but I'm hoping we will, is for
- 50:09Speaker 3: the husband to do the tell-all. Her husband. Because it's like,
- 50:15Speaker 3: were you thinking for the 18 days that she was missing?
- 50:18Speaker 3: I mean, your wife's kidnapped for 18 days. I pretty
- 50:21Speaker 3: much would be like, she's dead. I mean, I don't know.
- 50:25Speaker 3: You have two little kids and you're trying to tell
- 50:27Speaker 3: them not that their mom is dead, but like, oh,
- 50:29Speaker 3: mommy's gone. How do you just tell a two and
- 50:31Speaker 3: four-year-old that? And in any of that, did he know
- 50:35Speaker 3: that she's kind of wacky? And did he ever think,
- 50:38Speaker 3: Could this be some weird trick that she pulled? Or
- 50:42Speaker 3: was he, you know, not up until seven months ago
- 50:45Speaker 3: thinking this whole time she was kidnapped? And then, like,
- 50:48Speaker 3: what did she tell? Like, I was talking about it
- 50:51Speaker 3: on the other show and I was like, did she
- 50:53Speaker 3: say that she was actually being sex trafficked by the
- 50:57Speaker 3: two Latino women or? she was just trapped and being
- 51:02Speaker 3: left with a very little to eat. Like what was
- 51:04Speaker 3: her story?
- 51:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:05Speaker 3: Like what was she telling the cops? What was she
- 51:07Speaker 3: telling her husband? I know the cops were always like
- 51:10Speaker 3: very suspicious from the start and that's why we never heard,
- 51:13Speaker 3: but they did do that one interview. The husband did
- 51:16Speaker 3: the one interview where he was like, it's disgusting that
- 51:19Speaker 3: people don't believe her and you should have seen her.
- 51:22Speaker 3: And they were like, be prepared because her hair is
- 51:24Speaker 3: all chopped up and she's very thin. And, So at
- 51:28Speaker 3: that time, because right from the start, people doubted her.
- 51:31Speaker 3: People that knew her from high school and stuff were
- 51:33Speaker 3: like coming on the internet. But I heard the husband
- 51:36Speaker 3: and I was like, God, people do get, you know,
- 51:39Speaker 3: I always think of the poor girl, the Mormon girl
- 51:43Speaker 3: that was kidnapped by the guy that did handiwork. What
- 51:46Speaker 3: was her name? Elizabeth Smart. And there were times that
- 51:49Speaker 3: people thought the dad did it. And she really was
- 51:52Speaker 3: just kidnapped by like pretty much of a stranger, you know,
- 51:56Speaker 3: like And so I was like, God, you know, this
- 51:59Speaker 3: stuff does happen. And then, um, but I mean, when
- 52:05Speaker 3: it all, it was one of those days, there's just
- 52:07Speaker 3: certain news that like gets me like tingly with excitement
- 52:11Speaker 3: that I was like, oh my God, it was all bullshit.
- 52:14Speaker 3: She is an attention whore.
- 52:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 52:16Speaker 5: Now what's interesting about that. So ABC had me study
- 52:18Speaker 5: up on that and I did some good morning America
- 52:20Speaker 5: work on that. Um, When you look at him in
- 52:23Speaker 5: the whole true crime concept.
- 52:25Speaker 3: When you look at who, the husband or the boyfriend?
- 52:26Speaker 5: You look at the husband.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Okay, the husband.
- 52:28Speaker 5: You watch his interview and that's what sort of– nobody
- 52:30Speaker 5: got hurt on this, right?
- 52:31Speaker 4: Right.
- 52:31Speaker 5: So that's why it can be sort of a fun
- 52:33Speaker 5: thing to talk about. Like look at this crazy woman
- 52:35Speaker 5: who did this. So this poor sap is married to
- 52:39Speaker 5: this woman, has kids with her. He thinks she's dead
- 52:42Speaker 5: and he– When you look at forensic science, you know,
- 52:46Speaker 5: all the advancements that we've made, the most important thing
- 52:49Speaker 5: that we still have in figuring out what happened is
- 52:51Speaker 5: that gumshoe gut that you were talking about. Like, and
- 52:54Speaker 5: everybody has that. And that's, you can watch that video
- 52:57Speaker 5: of that husband and figure that out for yourself. Like,
- 53:00Speaker 5: and I think he was a total innocent. I don't think,
- 53:01Speaker 5: and I think she walked in the door and cried
- 53:04Speaker 5: and he thinks that his wife is dead. He is
- 53:07Speaker 5: probably going through the, and that's the worst thing anybody
- 53:09Speaker 5: can go through, right? Somebody you love has been murdered,
- 53:11Speaker 5: kidnapped and murdered. It is the worst thing. And now
- 53:13Speaker 5: he's got kids he's got to explain it to. And meanwhile,
- 53:15Speaker 5: what's really happening is she's banging her ex-boyfriend in Huntington Beach.
- 53:19Speaker 3: Well, now, is she banging him or not? Because he
- 53:21Speaker 3: said he was kind of a sad sack. Sorry. Not some, like,
- 53:26Speaker 3: hot Facebook love that, like, you're re-hooked up with. He
- 53:29Speaker 3: was just kind of an average dude. Average money. Average job.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Not rich at all. And he said that they didn't.
- 53:37Speaker 3: But then there was DNA on her underwear of his,
- 53:39Speaker 3: but it wasn't, like, sperm DNA. What is your knowledge
- 53:42Speaker 3: of that?
- 53:43Speaker 5: Well, I know that once she was, you know, the
- 53:47Speaker 5: emails ahead of time, it was basically like, I'm going
- 53:49Speaker 5: to leave my husband and go with you, right? So
- 53:51Speaker 5: there was definitely a romantic element to it. And maybe
- 53:54Speaker 5: they didn't. I don't know. He could be another victim. But,
- 53:56Speaker 5: I mean, that's kind of weird. It's like she shows
- 53:58Speaker 5: up and, you know, is burning herself in his house
- 54:01Speaker 5: or whatever she's doing.
- 54:02Speaker 3: But I think, okay. If we think that they weren't boning,
- 54:05Speaker 3: which I honestly think she could be such a manipulator.
- 54:08Speaker 5: Could be.
- 54:09Speaker 3: That she kind of pursued a guy that sort was
- 54:11Speaker 3: kind of dumb. Like he didn't have, you know, he
- 54:15Speaker 3: wasn't a doctor. He had like kind of just an
- 54:16Speaker 3: average job. And she came and was like, remember us?
- 54:21Speaker 3: And there was some information where he was sending information
- 54:24Speaker 3: back and forth of their time together. And then I
- 54:27Speaker 3: think she sort of said, we're going to do this plan.
- 54:30Speaker 3: I think he just got it kind of wrapped into it.
- 54:33Speaker 3: And pretty much cooperated right from the start once he
- 54:37Speaker 3: was kind of caught. So that shows he's kind of
- 54:39Speaker 3: a good person. And then he said I would come
- 54:43Speaker 3: home and she wasn't eating much. And then all of
- 54:44Speaker 3: a sudden her hair's chopped. And then she sends me
- 54:47Speaker 3: to Hobby Lobby. And I'm like, it was so crazy.
- 54:51Speaker 3: But it's like, yeah, I think that in her weird
- 54:55Speaker 3: world of being this pretty girl, sometimes pretty people can
- 55:00Speaker 3: be really fucked up.
- 55:02Speaker 5: Take it from me. Yes.
- 55:03Speaker 3: You are a pretty person?
- 55:04Speaker 5: No, no, no. You're being so attractive? I've dated, I think,
- 55:07Speaker 5: every crazy pretty woman in all of Los Angeles County.
- 55:10Speaker 4: Dr.
- 55:10Speaker 3: Drew talks about it. It's like a whole other thing
- 55:12Speaker 3: that hasn't... I think this could be a really interesting
- 55:15Speaker 3: thing to explore, like the pretty privilege that can happen.
- 55:20Speaker 3: And for some people, they appreciate it and they use
- 55:23Speaker 3: it and they don't abuse it. And then other people,
- 55:24Speaker 3: things come so easy to them that then... And then they, like,
- 55:29Speaker 3: get angry that, like, oh, you only liked me because
- 55:31Speaker 3: I was pretty. And in their brain, they see things
- 55:34Speaker 3: in a different, like, worldview. And they can immediately charm
- 55:38Speaker 3: people so easily because they literally do have charming eyes
- 55:41Speaker 3: and a charming smile. And talk about the pretty privilege.
- 55:46Speaker 5: Well, have you ever seen the Hot Crazy Matrix? Have
- 55:48Speaker 5: you ever seen that on YouTube?
- 55:50Speaker 3: No, what is it?
- 55:50Speaker 5: It's a police officer. Oh, my gosh, that's great. It's
- 55:52Speaker 5: like he has this whole, like. it's got this graph
- 55:54Speaker 5: where it's like, okay, the hotter she is, the crazier
- 55:56Speaker 5: she is, you know? And, and, you know, and if
- 55:59Speaker 5: she is like, if she's rational and smart and nice
- 56:02Speaker 5: and beautiful capture for science, because that's a unicorn does
- 56:05Speaker 5: not exist. Like it's, it's really funny. I'm not doing
- 56:08Speaker 5: a justice at all.
- 56:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:09Speaker 5: It's the hot, crazy matrix.
- 56:10Speaker 3: Okay.
- 56:11Speaker 5: You can YouTube it.
- 56:12Speaker 3: But, um, like in, as, as a prosecutor, when you
- 56:15Speaker 3: talk about that, what is your, when you're saying, Oh,
- 56:18Speaker 3: I understand like, what's your, give me some examples or
- 56:21Speaker 3: explain it more.
- 56:21Speaker 5: Well, I can tell you, um, I mean, for one thing,
- 56:24Speaker 5: when you're selecting a jury, you got to be very
- 56:27Speaker 5: careful about like the, the closer you get from a
- 56:31Speaker 5: prosecution standpoint to people that live in the real world,
- 56:34Speaker 5: the better you're going to be. Like you want, you
- 56:36Speaker 5: want people that are blue collar or on the edge
- 56:39Speaker 5: of blue collar, like nurses are great because they're there.
- 56:42Speaker 5: That's reality.
- 56:43Speaker 3: And they also see all kinds of people.
- 56:45Speaker 5: They see all kinds of people. Funny enough, you wouldn't
- 56:49Speaker 5: think so because a lot of them start out as
- 56:51Speaker 5: kind of your, liberal, whatever that means, social workers. They
- 56:56Speaker 5: start out wanting to save the world. The older social
- 56:58Speaker 5: workers have been in every dirty house and there's no
- 57:00Speaker 5: fooling them on anything because they've seen it all. So
- 57:04Speaker 5: when it comes to beautiful people, men or women, who
- 57:09Speaker 5: have a lot of money, and for Orange County, it's
- 57:11Speaker 5: always Newport. That was there. A beautiful woman from Newport
- 57:15Speaker 5: who didn't work was the most likely to indulge the
- 57:18Speaker 5: craziest defense theory. And I hope I'm not offending anybody
- 57:21Speaker 5: by saying this, but it's true. Those are the problem jurors. Like,
- 57:24Speaker 5: forget about.
- 57:25Speaker 3: Wait, they... Okay, wait. You mean you don't want that person...
- 57:28Speaker 3: A defense attorney wants that person, though.
- 57:31Speaker 4: Yes.
- 57:31Speaker 3: But a prosecutor doesn't. Because that girl will believe the
- 57:35Speaker 3: crazy defense theory.
- 57:37Speaker 5: The farther disconnected they are from the actual world.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Oh, got it.
- 57:41Speaker 5: The more likely, like, if they read a lot and
- 57:44Speaker 5: they're rich and they're super hot... you know, you've got to, um,
- 57:49Speaker 5: when I was coming through training, there's this guy, Chris Evans,
- 57:51Speaker 5: who's a genius. He was, he was like Yoda, this guy.
- 57:55Speaker 5: And he would, um, he came in and he's like, look, uh,
- 58:00Speaker 5: you're as, as young guys, you pulled like me and
- 58:02Speaker 5: three or four other of the, of the men of our,
- 58:04Speaker 5: of our crew that in our training classes side. And
- 58:06Speaker 5: he goes, look, you're going to have beautiful women that
- 58:08Speaker 5: are going to be sitting in your jury. And he goes,
- 58:10Speaker 5: and the defense lawyer is going to come over the
- 58:11Speaker 5: older guys. And they're going to elbow you and go,
- 58:13Speaker 5: I'm going to be mad if you kicked juror number six.
- 58:16Speaker 4: Ha, ha, ha.
- 58:16Speaker 5: Like, hey, you know what I mean? Like, let's look
- 58:18Speaker 5: at her. Because what they're really doing is they are,
- 58:20Speaker 5: that is a defense juror.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 58:22Speaker 5: And they know it. And you got to be really
- 58:24Speaker 5: careful about that. And you can be a beautiful woman.
- 58:27Speaker 5: I mean, we see this all the time. Beautiful woman
- 58:29Speaker 5: who has an actual job in the world and like
- 58:33Speaker 5: exists and understands people. He's like, if they're rich and
- 58:36Speaker 5: they're hot. very, very careful. And I got that, that
- 58:39Speaker 5: was probably my third day in training.
- 58:41Speaker 3: They're rich and hot, but they don't have a career.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Right.
- 58:44Speaker 3: Got it.
- 58:44Speaker 5: Because that, that sort of privilege.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Because it was given to them. Either they're born into
- 58:47Speaker 3: it or they married it or both.
- 58:49Speaker 5: I dated somebody who's famous, who I won't say who
- 58:52Speaker 5: it is, but she was like reality show famous. This
- 58:56Speaker 5: is 20 years ago. And when she went to the
- 58:58Speaker 5: White House, she got to meet the president. Like that's,
- 59:02Speaker 5: you know, like that's the type of thing that's like,
- 59:04Speaker 5: hot chick privilege, right? You go, you go places and,
- 59:06Speaker 5: and you know, secret service agent, SAR pulled her out
- 59:09Speaker 5: of her tour and it's like, you want to meet
- 59:10Speaker 5: the president? And like, that's the, that's, that's that, that's
- 59:15Speaker 5: that world. I mean, that's like, um, and I think
- 59:18Speaker 5: if you go through life like that and, and you're
- 59:21Speaker 5: not working and she, and she, that didn't apply to her.
- 59:23Speaker 5: Like she was actually very intelligent. She was, she was, uh,
- 59:26Speaker 5: she was an attorney. Not that that makes her smart, but, um,
- 59:29Speaker 5: But she was, you know, you hear stories like that.
- 59:32Speaker 5: And just a few of those ingredients with wealth and
- 59:35Speaker 5: the privilege and the disconnection from that, like give me
- 59:38Speaker 5: an emergency room nurse 10 out of 10 times and
- 59:41Speaker 5: she'll figure it out. Even if you're wrong as the prosecutor,
- 59:45Speaker 5: they'll figure it out. Like if you're right, you charge
- 59:47Speaker 5: the right guy.
- 59:48Speaker 3: They'll get it right.
- 59:49Speaker 5: That woman will get it right. Or that man who's
- 59:51Speaker 5: a nurse or like blue collar, you know. woman with
- 59:55Speaker 5: a Popeye tattoo on her arm, she's going to get
- 59:58Speaker 5: it right. You know, she's those, they are, those are
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: the best jurors, like the people that are connected to reality. So, um,
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: but yeah, uh, yeah, this woman, Sherry Papini, uh, 18
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: months to sit and stew.
- 1:00:11Speaker 3: I think that's awesome. I, I did a podcast on
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: a case a long time ago and it was one
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: of my favorite date lines. It was called the secrets
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: of silver Lake. And it was, I don't know if
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: it's Keith Morrison or not, but it was one of
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: my favorites. And it was this area like where they
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: built these houses around this like lake, kind of like
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: somewhere like inland San Diego. I don't know. So it's
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: kind of blue collar, but like young people. Do you
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: know the story?
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: No.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: So this guy, like this guy and this girl got
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: married and got together quite young, you know, and then
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: they had a couple of kids and then he worked
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: on these like railroad things and he was kind of hot.
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: And anyway, he was found, Killed. Like, shot one day working.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: And turned out she had this affair with this guy
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: who was a young fireman. She was selling– not selling,
- 1:01:03Speaker 3: but she was doing the Costco samples. But he was
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: a rookie, so he'd have to go to Costco all
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: the time to get all the food for the firemen.
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: And so they started having an affair, but then they, like,
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: broke up and whatever. Anyway, he was caught. He definitely
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: killed him. So then the whole thing was she in
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: on it.
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: And, um, I was fascinated by the story and it
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: was like, you know, she was calling her husband before
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: it was the day before school started and she was
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: calling him before. Hey babe, made you that lasagna. You're coming,
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: you know? And I always say about those voicemail messages
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: that go to the, when, and then the person knew
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: no one's ever going to respond, but like, Oh, once
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: they hear these messages, I'm going to sound like such
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: a sweet, loving wife. Anyway, she went through the whole
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: thing and she was really pretty, pretty blonde girl. And
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: so I was obsessed with it. And then it turned
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: out that my sister's friend was her defense attorney. So
- 1:01:58Speaker 3: I had her come on the show and she was
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: trying to do like an appeal. It didn't work out.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: She's still trying to appeal it. She got convicted. She
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: did get convicted. But I honestly really think she's innocent
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: for a couple reasons. One is I don't think you'd
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: plan the murder of your husband the day before the
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: school year starts. Just as a mom, I just don't
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: think you would do that.
- 1:02:25Speaker 5: There's too much work to do.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: There's too much work to do. There's too much that
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: would throw it off. I think you would be like,
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: if you were really going to do it, you'd be like,
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: can you do it like July 5th? Give us six weeks.
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: I'm just, that was one thing. And the other part was, she,
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: I believe, was awesome. extremely low IQ, maybe special needs,
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: but undiagnosed because she was pretty interesting. Like she didn't
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: finish high school. And then I talked to some of her.
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: So then when I did this thing, some of her, um,
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: relatives were like, called me and was like, thank you.
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: And we're trying, you know, she really didn't know what
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: this guy was doing and they were like swingers. So
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: almost like the husband kind of knew about it and
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: the relationship was broken and It was such a juicy story.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: But when you watched the dateline on it, you were
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: totally convinced she was this hussy that was involved. But
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: I was like, I think sometimes people think that too
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: about a pretty girl, that she couldn't be like special needs.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: She's just a pretty blonde who's super sexual and manipulative.
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: Well, if Keith Morrison says it, I pretty much believe
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: whatever comes out of his mouth. I think that voice–
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: he's the world's nicest guy, by the way.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: He's really, really cool. But I think that like if
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: I was the– and I told the cousin or whatever
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: when I was on the phone. I go, I think
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: if you have another chance of any kind of appeal,
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: I think that she should be seen by someone that's
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: going to really test her intelligence.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Because that's always a defense that's used for men, that
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: they're like, oh, my God, he had an IQ of whatever.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: And I don't think people think to, like, test these
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: women's IQ.
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: So she went down for a first-degree murder?
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: Okay. And financial gains?
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: No, not really, no. And she always said, like, she
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: didn't know, and they had these phone calls taped. But, like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: if you would have listened to it, on the defense
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: side— and if you're going on the defense side knowing
- 1:04:19Speaker 3: that she was like really kind of dumb like then
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: you would believe that she was like oh okay oh
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: no you know because he'd be like are they asking
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: anything yet and she's like no no one's asking anything
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: yet but then for the prosecutor side it looked like
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: oh good no no they haven't asked anything yet like
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: it could all be it was but she was a
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: pretty person so going back to the Sherry Papini um
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: I just can't imagine like Her parents, I mean, I
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: just had my son not answer his phone in his
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: dorm from 9 until 2 a.m. We were pinging it
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: because it showed it was in his dorm and we
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: were pinging it and he still wasn't waking up. I mean,
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: from 9 to, I had to like.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: You're frantic.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: I was like, I don't even think I can sleep.
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: And so I can't imagine going through something like that for.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: I think, how many weeks was she gone? I want
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: to say like five weeks or something.
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: Yeah, something like that. And then, and what was the
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: deal ultimately? It was that she just, she was bored
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: with her life or what, what do you think?
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Her reason was, I think she, I think she was
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: one of those girls that then convinced the guy that
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: the husband is awful. And yeah, I, I want to
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: know more about what she really told her. And then
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: what happened after? And, like, I would love to see
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: the movie or, like, the interview of, like, when the husband, like,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: that dramatic moment of the movie where all of a
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: sudden the husband, like, sees some type of clue or
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: she says or does something where he's like, wait a minute.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: Just a cringy moment, right?
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Yeah, like, wait a minute.
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: I feel sorry for him. I really do.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:57Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: And I guess she's living with his sister, right? So
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: like the family, surrounding family still somehow has sympathy for her.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: And probably because she's pretty.
- 1:06:12Speaker 5: Yeah. I think that.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: You know, my first couple weeks, I had a guy
- 1:06:18Speaker 5: that ran out into traffic. He was a little doper.
- 1:06:20Speaker 5: I can't remember if we talked about this last night.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: So basically we get into, I'm looking at the guys
- 1:06:27Speaker 5: who chased him. So it's a dope motel. He's like
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: early 20s and he's a little druggie. And he rips
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: off another drug dealer or whatever, and he runs, and
- 1:06:36Speaker 5: he runs out onto Harbor Boulevard and gets run over, okay?
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: And he gets killed. So I'm looking at the other guys.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: And I went into my boss, Lou Rosenblum's office, and
- 1:06:44Speaker 5: he was so wise, right? Like I had an actual mentor.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: And he said, sympathy. And I said, I feel really
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: bad for this guy, you know? And we're not gonna
- 1:06:52Speaker 5: be able to charge any of these other guys because
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: who's gonna foresee that he's gonna run out into traffic, right?
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: And I said, I feel really bad. He goes, you
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: know what? And this is my... first week maybe in
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: the homicide unit. And he goes, sympathy is like money
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: in a bank. He goes, you only have so much
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: and you need to be very careful who you make
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: a withdrawal for. And he said, you're going to be
- 1:07:11Speaker 5: dealing with cases involving little kids and people that are
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: totally innocent. And if you take a sympathy withdrawal for
- 1:07:17Speaker 5: that guy, you're going to burn out in two years.
- 1:07:20Speaker 5: And some of the best advice I ever got.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: I do think about people in your work and police
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: officers and all of that, you know, so different from
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: the way I live my daily life. I'm just like
- 1:07:31Speaker 3: watching housewives and making jokes. Like, I don't know. I
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: don't know. I think you really, it's amazing. And I
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: think that's why sometimes people compartmentalize or have a hard
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: time with their personal life or whatever, because it is
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: such a mental mind screw. I can imagine.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: Well, you know, what's funny about that is it's not
- 1:07:49Speaker 5: even the, when you're working those cases, you get used
- 1:07:52Speaker 5: to the stuff you see pretty quickly. And I mean,
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: you see a lot, you see for me, I mean,
- 1:07:58Speaker 5: Maggots were something that always kind of got me. And
- 1:08:01Speaker 5: the autopsies are tough.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Maggots that get into the dead bodies? Yes.
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: And you have to see it in person?
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: Yes, in person.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Because you discover the body. They discover the body and
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: then they call you?
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: I would go to each crime scene. And then you
- 1:08:15Speaker 5: also attend the postmortems or the autopsies.
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: And so, yeah, you wind up encountering quite a few, like,
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: decomp cases is what they're called. So if somebody hasn't
- 1:08:24Speaker 5: been found for a while or somebody's found in a
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: field or a ditch, There's always something like that going on.
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: And that, it's gross. But the real stress comes from
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: seeing it and understanding the responsibility that you have as
- 1:08:37Speaker 5: a prosecutor to the families. So the families that, because
- 1:08:41Speaker 5: basically it goes crime scene, autopsy, family meeting. And that
- 1:08:44Speaker 5: would be the order. And I would always give my
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: personal cell phone out to the families. I can't remember
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: if we talked about that last time. But I never
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: regretted doing that just to let them know that somebody
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: cares about But when you're there with the crying mom,
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: the stress comes from, if I screw this up. this
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: family is going to be denied justice, as corny as
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: that sounds.
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: You know, I want to go back to something else,
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: a little lighter, juicier. Talking about jury people, I'm friends
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: with Leah Black, who is the wife of Roy Black.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: And she actually was in a jury of a case
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: that he tried.
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: Oh, is that how they met?
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: He was the defense attorney for one of the Kennedy's,
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: some Palm beach rape case. He prevailed, they won. Um,
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: and then, uh, but they didn't, but they like met
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: like a year later. And then she was like, I
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: was actually on your jury. And you know, the story
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: at first, until I asked her, it was more like,
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: Oh my God. Like, is that, so has that ever
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: happened or have you ever had a jury come up
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: to you? Like later at a bar, like two years ago,
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: I was in your jury or, Anything like that? Because
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: it is like you're on stage and people are staring
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: at you for weeks on end.
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: I've had that happen. I had a very, like, sort
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: of strict line on that. I didn't ever want to
- 1:09:57Speaker 5: cross that. Now, Lou married a juror on one of
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: his cases. It wound up becoming my dentist. And she
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: was wonderful and they had a kid together.
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: Okay, so how long did they start to date after
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: the case was done?
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: Pretty soon after.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: So who pursued who?
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: You know, I think.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: Somebody– they knew somebody in common.
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: Oh.
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: And then they hooked them up. They hooked them up afterwards.
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:10:22Speaker 5: But that wound up being a really successful marriage. They
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: were happily married. She passed away a few years ago
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: of ovarian cancer. But, yeah, I never wanted to do that.
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: I mean, for the first 23 or 24 years of
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: my career, I didn't date anybody in the office. I
- 1:10:38Speaker 5: didn't date any court clerks, court reporters. I just– no
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: defense lawyers. I tried to stay– you know, like professional
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: and personal life is, is, you know, far apart as possible.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: And then, yeah. And then, uh, yeah.
- 1:10:53Speaker 3: Well, so I mean, between this and the Jussie Smollett,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: do you think this is going, there's going to be
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: more of this happening or less?
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: Well, the problem that's, that's really the problem for the
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: disservice she did to real victims. It's like whenever anybody
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: fix something, they, they, They inject suspicion into the minds
- 1:11:14Speaker 5: of the future jurors on legitimate cases that wouldn't have
- 1:11:18Speaker 5: been there otherwise. And that's the real– it's a waste
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: of resources. But also that's the real crime, right?
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: Yeah, because, I mean, this was the gone girl. People
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: are like, oh, it's gone girl. And then I know
- 1:11:28Speaker 3: that has been a defense. For defense attorneys when some
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: guy's wife is really gone. Is she doing the gone
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: girl thing? And there was that case. I think the
- 1:11:40Speaker 3: guy ended up killing himself. There was a case of
- 1:11:41Speaker 3: a mom of five. She had five kids and she's
- 1:11:44Speaker 3: going through this horrible divorce on the East Coast with
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: her Greek born husband. And she went missing. And I
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: don't know if they ever found her body, but they
- 1:11:54Speaker 3: had enough to finally arrest him. And then he killed
- 1:11:57Speaker 3: himself in the garage. Right. And but the defense that
- 1:12:00Speaker 3: they were gearing up for was that she was a writer.
- 1:12:03Speaker 3: And at one time before Gone Girl ever even came out,
- 1:12:06Speaker 3: she had come up with kind of a story like that,
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: a fake kidnapping thing to get attention or to screw
- 1:12:11Speaker 3: over her husband.
- 1:12:12Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: And it's like Duke Lacrosse or that that Rolling Stone
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: article about the fraternity. Remember that where they the woman
- 1:12:18Speaker 5: completely made everything up?
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Oh, the Duke. Remind people what that was.
- 1:12:22Speaker 5: It was a Duke Lacrosse. The Duke Lacrosse team. hired
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: strippers for some party and there was a financial dispute.
- 1:12:30Speaker 5: So one of the strippers accused them of sexual assault
- 1:12:32Speaker 5: and the local prosecutor filed rape charges against all these
- 1:12:35Speaker 5: innocent kids.
- 1:12:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: Which is like.
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: And they all lost out. Yeah.
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: And they got dragged through it and it turns out
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: they were totally innocent. And I think they disbarred that
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: DA at the end of it. But that's... And then
- 1:12:48Speaker 5: there was a Rolling Stone article with a woman who
- 1:12:51Speaker 5: claimed she was raped in a fraternity and it was...
- 1:12:54Speaker 5: The whole thing was made up. And so... The problem
- 1:12:57Speaker 5: is like, and this is an example of the same thing.
- 1:12:59Speaker 5: These things get so much media attention and it's fascinating
- 1:13:02Speaker 5: every time and it's worth talking about. It's important to
- 1:13:05Speaker 5: talk about. But in the minds of jurors, you know,
- 1:13:08Speaker 5: when the totally legitimate victim who did nothing wrong is
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: like same objective circumstances and really is like assaulted, there's
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: that doubt that they walk in with as a result
- 1:13:21Speaker 5: of people like Sherry Papini.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Well, there was this case and it was definitely in California.
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: I don't remember where this... cute couple were like, you know,
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: living together. And this guy came in with like this
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: laser thing and like kidnapped her and took her to
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: like this cabin that he had. And people were thinking
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: that it was, you know, they're doing it for attention
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: and all this other stuff. And a hundred percent, it
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: was true. And it was one of those weird psycho
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: guys that were like, I just wanted to see if
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: I could do it.
- 1:13:51Speaker 5: We did a 2020 on that.
- 1:13:52Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: Yeah. I researched that.
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Tell that story.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: So essentially it was a psycho dude who had done
- 1:14:02Speaker 5: this multiple times before and he went to a podunk–
- 1:14:05Speaker 5: I'm sorry, but they deserve the term– podunk police department
- 1:14:10Speaker 5: in Central California.
- 1:14:11Speaker 3: Oh, he chose the victim based on the police department?
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: No, no, no. But it just happened to be.
- 1:14:16Speaker 3: Oh, OK.
- 1:14:17Speaker 5: And they immediately suspected the husband and they brought the
- 1:14:20Speaker 5: husband in and they grilled him and it was like
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: they– They had suspect focus right at the very beginning.
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: They made up their mind subjectively that it was him.
- 1:14:29Speaker 5: They treated the husband horribly. And it turns out she
- 1:14:32Speaker 5: really was kidnapped. And the guy broke into their home
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: and pretended to be multiple people. And he had like
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: a laser. And it made it look like it was
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: a laser on a weapon. And it turns out it
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: was just like a pointer. And I think it was
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: on a BB gun.
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:14:49Speaker 5: And the whole thing was so insane. It was almost unbelievable.
- 1:14:53Speaker 5: And when the husband described everything that actually happened, the
- 1:14:56Speaker 5: cops were like, wait, what? And it didn't make sense.
- 1:14:59Speaker 5: They immediately suspected him. And it turns out it was
- 1:15:02Speaker 5: all real. And she had been kidnapped and raped and
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: held captive for a period of time. And it was
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: just the most.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: And then he dropped her off, like kind of similar
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: to the Sheriff of Sherry Pepino. She probably was familiar
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: with the story. Dropped her off like a couple blocks
- 1:15:20Speaker 3: from her house.
- 1:15:20Speaker 7: Yep.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: So that she could like make it home and it's like, oh,
- 1:15:23Speaker 3: isn't that nice and convenient, you know?
- 1:15:25Speaker 5: So, but he had transported her to a different jurisdiction.
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: So there was the police department that was working on
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: the abduction. And then there was a separate one that
- 1:15:35Speaker 5: became involved that did everything right. And the detective in
- 1:15:38Speaker 5: 30 seconds found that this guy had been involved in
- 1:15:41Speaker 5: very similar things with a laser before. And I mean, it's, that's,
- 1:15:46Speaker 5: you call it a unique MO or modus operandi, right?
- 1:15:48Speaker 5: Like that is, it's so close. It's a signature. It's
- 1:15:51Speaker 5: a psycho that's developing his technique to do these rapes.
- 1:15:56Speaker 5: And in zero time flat, the other police department put
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: the whole thing together and, you know, essentially exonerated the husband.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: But it was really, it was incredibly ham-fisted the way
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: the detectives in that handled it. And look, I, you know,
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: I think that Police, 95% of the time, get it right,
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: and they work really hard, and they're really dedicated men
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: and women. They're trying to catch the bad guy. But
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: there are those times where they really do screw up,
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: and that case was one of those times.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: It was just seeing the way that poor guy was treated.
- 1:16:30Speaker 5: I think they sued, and I'm sure they got some
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: money back.
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: No, I definitely do because then there was a big follow-up.
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: All right. Netflix, September 21st, Dahmer, Monster, the Jeffrey Dahmer story.
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: I don't know if I'm going to be able to
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: watch this. This is like, the trailer looks so scary.
- 1:16:49Speaker 3: And you, when we talked last, you were like, I
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: have some info on serial killers and it's not what
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: you think.
- 1:16:55Speaker 5: Right. So I did a bunch of them. I did
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: the Golden State Killer case. I did the dating game killer,
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: Rodney Alcala, who represented himself, a guy named Andrew Erdiales.
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: And then, you know, every serial rapist is basically the
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: same guy that just doesn't, just doesn't kill. And what,
- 1:17:12Speaker 5: We're talking about the psychopath. And anybody who's watched Silence
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: of the Lambs, including me, we get this idea of
- 1:17:17Speaker 5: the Buffalo Bill character, you know, like it puts the
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: lotion in the basket, you know, that whole thing. And
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: we have this image of serial killers being victims of
- 1:17:25Speaker 5: horrible abuse. And in my experience, and it's limited, I mean,
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: I probably worked on a dozen of these. And so
- 1:17:32Speaker 5: it's not a scientifically huge sample. And there's people who
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: know a lot more about it than me. But mine,
- 1:17:37Speaker 5: without exception, none of them were abused.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: As kids.
- 1:17:41Speaker 5: As kids. They were not abused. They were spoiled. One
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: after another after another, they were spoiled. And Jeffrey Dahmer
- 1:17:48Speaker 5: is a perfect example of that. And there's clips of
- 1:17:50Speaker 5: Jeffrey Dahmer that you can see on YouTube where he's
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: hanging out with his parents. His dad was, by all accounts,
- 1:17:56Speaker 5: I believe, a very nice man. And I'm no expert
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: on the Dahmer case, but he was with his parents
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: as an adult. And he's talking about, oh, popping into
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: McDonald's and getting a burger. And really what he was
- 1:18:07Speaker 5: doing is he's eating all the people that he was
- 1:18:09Speaker 5: bringing home and murdering. Um, but he was, you know, uh, uh,
- 1:18:15Speaker 5: Ted Bundy's another one. Ted Bundy wasn't abused as a kid. Um,
- 1:18:19Speaker 5: I'll call it was not abused as a kid. One
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: afternoon they're, they're spoiled and they're entitled and they get
- 1:18:24Speaker 5: off on it. And that's why they do it. They,
- 1:18:27Speaker 5: they do it because they like it. And, you know, he,
- 1:18:30Speaker 5: he took it to another level because Dahmer of course
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: was eating his victims. And then there's that, that horrific scene, um,
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: with the police officers that one of those guys got out.
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: I think he was Lao or maybe Thai, but he
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: would pick up these young men in the gate of
- 1:18:50Speaker 5: Milwaukee and there was one of them that escaped and
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: Jeffrey Dahmer came out after him. It's the worst part
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: of the whole story.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: What happened?
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: He came out and there were two police officers and
- 1:19:03Speaker 5: the man got to the police and he physically appeared
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: to be intoxicated and that's because Dahmer had already gotten
- 1:19:10Speaker 5: to him and fed him the drugs or hit him
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: on the head or whatever it was. And he came
- 1:19:14Speaker 5: out and he's like, it's my boyfriend. I'm so sorry
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: to bother you guys. And the police let Dahmer take
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: him away and he murdered him and hit him. And
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: those poor officers, you know, that's a life-changing event because
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: they had one of the worst serial killers. In history,
- 1:19:29Speaker 5: I mean, Netflix is coming out with a movie now
- 1:19:31Speaker 5: about it.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Yeah, this is it, yeah.
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: And they could have caught him that night and they didn't.
- 1:19:34Speaker 5: That's a time. But they really, it was a bad.
- 1:19:37Speaker 3: And also, Jeffrey Dahmer was what years, like?
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: What years?
- 1:19:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:41Speaker 8: Oh, gosh.
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: I don't even, I'm not even sure.
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: Because I was thinking, like, I think also, being that
- 1:19:46Speaker 3: there was the homosexuality element, that he was, like, going
- 1:19:50Speaker 3: after these young guys and also that people couldn't be held.
- 1:19:56Speaker 3: Same thing with the other serial killer, the Gacy.
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: Oh, John Wayne Gacy.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: Kind of similar in that like the time in history
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: where you didn't have phones. And so if someone went
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: missing or they were kind of like under the radar
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: or just like, you know, kind of a grifter or
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: working on a construction site here or there, like these
- 1:20:16Speaker 3: guys would go missing. And because they're also guys, I
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: don't think like their loved ones were like as panicked
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: when they went missing.
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:23Speaker 3: All of it. It's just like.
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: It's really sad. And I'll tell you what, it's, we
- 1:20:27Speaker 5: were talking last time about types of murders. How like
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: a baby death is a very different type of murder
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: than a, than a gang murder, which is different than
- 1:20:32Speaker 5: a serial killer, which is different than a conspiracy for money,
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: which is different than a mask violence. They're all very,
- 1:20:37Speaker 5: very different. But Laguna beach was one of my cities and,
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: you know, there's a very thriving gay community in Laguna beach.
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: And one of the things that you'd see, especially in
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: the 70s and 80s, when there was that sort of
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: inherent bias against the gay community, you would see these older,
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: straight-acting gay men that would roll these younger men home
- 1:20:56Speaker 5: and they would get robbed. And these guys would go
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: home because these older men were– they were guaranteed to
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: put themselves in a position of vulnerability and they were
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: often unlikely to call the police. Because they didn't want
- 1:21:12Speaker 5: to explain why there was a younger man in their home.
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: Oh, the young man would steal from the older rich man.
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:21:18Speaker 5: And sometimes they would steal. But a lot of times
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: it became these horrifically brutal murders because there would be
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: some sort of like, I don't know, some pathology going
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: on with the killers. And I had a case called
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: Pasarsic that there was no media on at all. And
- 1:21:34Speaker 5: the victim was an IRS agent. And he was closeted.
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: And he brought this very handsome young guy back to
- 1:21:44Speaker 5: his house. And that murder, that crime scene, this is
- 1:21:49Speaker 5: a little graphic, but his ears had been cut off.
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: And he'd been bludgeoned with a champagne bottle and essentially
- 1:21:59Speaker 5: impaled in his rectum with a flashlight. And that's how
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: we found him. And every aunt in Orange County was
- 1:22:07Speaker 5: at that scene. And that poor man. Every ant? Every ant.
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: Like crawling ants?
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:22:11Speaker 3: Oh, I thought you meant like an ant.
- 1:22:13Speaker 5: Every ant in Orange County.
- 1:22:15Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 1:22:16Speaker 5: Every actual ant. And the ear was missing. One of
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: the ears was missing.
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: You never found it?
- 1:22:22Speaker 4: No.
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: And I actually think the ants got that ear.
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: How long was it before you found him? Like how
- 1:22:28Speaker 3: long was it since someone had seen him?
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: Well, it was about a day until we caught him.
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: And he was using this guy's– But, I.
- 1:22:35Speaker 3: Mean, when you found all the ants on the guy,
- 1:22:37Speaker 3: like how many days is that of like an exposed body?
- 1:22:40Speaker 5: About a day and a half on that.
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: Oh, that quick?
- 1:22:43Speaker 5: It was on the ground level. Yeah. Now, ants aren't
- 1:22:46Speaker 5: at every scene. But they sure were at that one.
- 1:22:49Speaker 5: You know, ants, it's like– but that was– but there's
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: a bunch of those, these older gay men from that era,
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: you know, like they grew up in the 40s or 50s.
- 1:23:01Speaker 5: you know, and it's, I mean, thank God we've advanced. Um,
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: cause now, I mean, nobody would, nobody would bat an
- 1:23:09Speaker 5: eye at that now, but that scene, and I hope
- 1:23:11Speaker 5: there was no, I really hope for the sake of
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: those officers that there was no, you know, gay bias
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: in that moment. Um, you know, and most cops, like
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: the vast majority of them, I mean, look, some of
- 1:23:22Speaker 5: the best police officers I've worked with in my career,
- 1:23:25Speaker 5: I mean, gay police officers, um, men and women, but the,
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: the idea that, um, I mean, like you talk about
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: reality and being close to reality. Most cops, especially detectives,
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: they're not going to care at all. Their victim is
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: their victim. And that applies really. And this, I hope
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: I don't get any hate on this, but truly, in
- 1:23:46Speaker 5: my experience, they don't care about the race. They don't
- 1:23:48Speaker 5: care about the sexual orientation. It's their victim. And they're
- 1:23:51Speaker 5: going to work it professionally, at least the cops I
- 1:23:53Speaker 5: worked with. And they do not care at all. They
- 1:23:55Speaker 5: want to catch the bad guy.
- 1:23:56Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:23:57Speaker 5: But this is, I'm sure that scene's going to be
- 1:23:59Speaker 5: in there and it's heart-wrenching. So, cause one of those guys,
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: and then he went on to kill, I think a
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: whole bunch of additional people after that. And, uh, yeah.
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: Crazy. Late seventies, early eighties.
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: So same, same time period.
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: Dirty John.
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: Dirty John.
- 1:24:16Speaker 3: Still our favorite. It's changed dating for women all over
- 1:24:20Speaker 3: the world. Everybody thinks that they could be dating a
- 1:24:23Speaker 3: dirty John. Their mom might be dating a dirty, dirty John.
- 1:24:26Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: Well, this was my case, as you know, and, uh,
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: Number one, how awesome is Eric Bana? I got so starstruck.
- 1:24:33Speaker 3: Listen, I, when he was making Connie Britton, those smoothies
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: and his scrubs is one outfit. I'm like, I can see,
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: I can see how she was hooked in.
- 1:24:44Speaker 5: Case there is. And, and Connie Britton was amazing in that.
- 1:24:47Speaker 5: And for this case, I think it's got 40 million
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: downloads for the podcast.
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: Oh yeah, of course.
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: I got all the sliders I could eat at this,
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: at the, uh, at the premiere was, was what I
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: got out of that. But, um, Uh, yeah, that was
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: one where, uh, for those who don't know it, um,
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: and this is kind of a spoiler alert, I guess.
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: Um, I think everyone knows that that's the thing.
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: Yeah. This is just, this is such an awesome case.
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: So Newport brings it to me and it's a homicide.
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: So I've got to review it and make sure that it's,
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: that it's a, you know, that it's legit. And it's,
- 1:25:16Speaker 5: this woman meets him online and he's a total hustler
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: and he went from woman to woman and he's a
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: complete psycho. And he would, he presented himself as first
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: as a doctor and he was a nurse anesthetist. that
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: had been defrocked or unlicensed or whatever it's called because
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: he was stealing drugs from the emergency rooms. And the
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: way he did it was horrific. He was actually taking
- 1:25:38Speaker 5: drugs from the patients he was supposed to be administering
- 1:25:40Speaker 5: it to. So they had less anesthesia, like a horrible
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: human being in every way. And he had been getting
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: gradually more aggressive, gradually more psycho. And he meets this
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: woman in Newport Beach who's very wealthy with two daughters.
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: And he cooks up this scheme when things fall apart
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: with them. to kidnap and murder one of the daughters.
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: And she was coming back to her apartment in Newport,
- 1:26:00Speaker 5: walking her dog Cash, and I bonded with Cash. And
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: he hops out of a van, because there's got to
- 1:26:07Speaker 5: be a van, right? And he's got a whole murder
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: kit in there, including duct tape, zip ties, restraints. And
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: that scenario ends one way. It ends with some poor
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: girl in a ditch or in a field. That's the
- 1:26:20Speaker 5: way that ends every time, except this time. So she
- 1:26:24Speaker 5: fights Cash, the dog, bites him, he drops the knife
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: and the victim picks the knife up and stabs him
- 1:26:31Speaker 5: in the eye because she watches Walking Dead and kills
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: him in completely legit self-defense. So Chris Godford is a
- 1:26:39Speaker 5: buddy of mine that I'd worked with for years. I mean, buddy,
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: like somebody that worked for the LA Times and I
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: knew him and we'd done a bunch of cases together.
- 1:26:44Speaker 3: I did an interview with him before the show came out.
- 1:26:47Speaker 5: Yeah, he's great.
- 1:26:48Speaker 3: Because I loved his other story. which I thought was
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: going to be made into a show. He did another
- 1:26:54Speaker 3: long piece about a mom who got angry with a
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: school teacher. Oh, Easter.
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: Yeah, Easter. My buddy Christophe Roscoe did that. Yes.
- 1:27:06Speaker 3: I'll tell you what I remember, and you can help
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: with that one. But basically, this husband and wife had
- 1:27:12Speaker 3: a child at a school, and they went to go
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: pick up the child, and the teacher said something like, oh,
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: he's coming. He's just a little slow. And they interpreted
- 1:27:24Speaker 3: that as you're calling our kids slow, not like he's
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: a little slow gathering his jacket, whatever. And they went
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: out to destroy this woman's life.
- 1:27:34Speaker 5: Right. And they planted drugs in her car.
- 1:27:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27:37Speaker 5: And it was, there was another, a second incident too,
- 1:27:39Speaker 5: where they, she came up, the mom came up to
- 1:27:41Speaker 5: pick up her child and the child was waiting on
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: the curb. And mom got super upset about that. Her
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: husband was a very successful attorney and, She was also,
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: I think, an attorney, I want to say, but wasn't practicing.
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: And she was very beautiful. It's like this really good
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: looking kind of quintessential Orange County couple. And she hatched
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: this plot to have her husband plant drugs in the
- 1:28:03Speaker 5: teacher's car. And it was a complete setup. And yeah,
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: she was just, that was one of those. And then
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: it turns out in that investigation that she was sleeping
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: with a fireman that worked in the, I think, down
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: the street or something like that.
- 1:28:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: She was also having an affair. Even though she and
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: her husband acted like they were so on the same
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: page to destroy this teacher, she was cheating as well.
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: Her husband was... What's the word without me animating any
- 1:28:33Speaker 5: two offended? I believe a cuckold would be the word.
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: I don't even know that word. Cuckold?
- 1:28:36Speaker 7: No.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: A cuck. It means that he's basically...– like he's just
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: a completely beaten down man. His wife is cheating on
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: him and he basically went along with it. That was–
- 1:28:46Speaker 5: so one of my best friends in the office, Christophe,
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: who just got elected to the bench, he's hysterical. But
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: he tried that and that was– Do you know what happened?
- 1:28:54Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: He– They made a deal with her and then prosecuted him.
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: He planted the drugs. The husband planted the drugs. So
- 1:29:02Speaker 5: he was convicted of that.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: Even though she probably convinced him to do it. So he, like,
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: lost his law license. Yeah. And then do you know
- 1:29:10Speaker 3: if they did time? Do you remember?
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: She didn't. I don't think she did any time. But
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: he did. He did. I mean, he faced massive life-changing
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: consequences for his involvement in that. And I think that's
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: one of those that it's– there's a lot of people
- 1:29:24Speaker 5: in that that believed– You know, that she was pulling
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: all the strings.
- 1:29:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: Yeah. And that poor teacher. But again.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: So bizarre. And I remember when I was interviewing the
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: writer of the LA Times of that article, he goes,
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: out of all the things I've written, he goes, why
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: do you think that one was so resonated with so many?
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: I'm like, just as like a mom. Yeah. ever dealing
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: with like other weird mothers that are like so entitled
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: and so like not my child. And I mean, it
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: was just so bizarre.
- 1:29:55Speaker 5: Totally psycho. Yeah. I mean, and like, but the idea
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: that she could think that they could get away with that,
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: you know, and they almost did. They almost, I mean,
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: they almost destroyed this poor woman's career who made one
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: offhand comment. And I don't have any kids. So, but
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: living in Manhattan Beach, there are some, I mean, I
- 1:30:15Speaker 5: have friends' wives who are insane when it comes to
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: that sort of thing.
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: Yeah, not my kid. Just such an ego about it.
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: But Dirty John was, I mean, it's cautionary online dating, right?
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: I think that we should do a podcast one day
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: on things that I saw in the homicide unit where
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: people met their killers online dating. I mean, Dirty John
- 1:30:39Speaker 5: was just one of them. It was the craziest story.
- 1:30:41Speaker 3: But do you think in that, that had I wonder,
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: obviously he was someone that had done crime his whole life.
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: People that know the story, they flash back to him
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: as a child and the dad kind of had him
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: jump in front of a car and put glass in
- 1:30:58Speaker 3: the food, glass in his food so that they could
- 1:31:02Speaker 3: sue the Mexican restaurant.
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: For John Meehan?
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Yeah, when he was a kid, he had all this
- 1:31:06Speaker 3: weird stuff. He kind of grew up with a really
- 1:31:09Speaker 3: bad example of a father. And then he kind of
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: was doing all these things But yet he was really smart.
- 1:31:14Speaker 3: He became, you know, passed the boards to be a
- 1:31:18Speaker 3: nurse anesthesiologist and all this. And then knew a lot
- 1:31:21Speaker 3: legally where he would like harass people and sue them
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: or have them just fold and be like, fine, like
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: here's 10,000, leave me alone. And so I wonder if when,
- 1:31:34Speaker 3: if the plan had gone his way, would he have
- 1:31:36Speaker 3: maybe just kidnapped her to try to get.
- 1:31:42Speaker 5: See, the problem is, and this is something that.
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: We- And you never know, but I'm just saying, I
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: kind of wonder if, because it was kind of so
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: out of character that he'd gone, but then also I
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: know people graduate to worse crimes.
- 1:31:52Speaker 5: They get worse and worse. He's getting more and more desperate.
- 1:31:55Speaker 5: And I spent a lot of time with the guys
- 1:31:57Speaker 5: at Newport, guys including a couple of excellent female detectives
- 1:32:00Speaker 5: in that crew. And this is my daily own group.
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: This is my McLaughlin group. These are seasoned, really good detectives.
- 1:32:07Speaker 5: And we roundtabled out a bunch. And the conclusion we
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: reached is that he was going to kill her. And
- 1:32:11Speaker 5: it's because she knew him. She knew who he was.
- 1:32:14Speaker 5: There's no way that he can kidnap her. And she
- 1:32:18Speaker 5: didn't like him. She owed him nothing. So she would
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: have no incentive not to immediately call the police. So
- 1:32:25Speaker 5: he was going to kill her. And when you look,
- 1:32:29Speaker 5: he had the knife. And it wound up being the
- 1:32:31Speaker 5: knife that she used to stab him in the eye
- 1:32:33Speaker 5: in it. She watches Walking Dead. That's how you kill
- 1:32:35Speaker 5: a zombie. Picks up the knife and kills the zombie.
- 1:32:38Speaker 5: I mean, that never, it's just, it's such, it's such
- 1:32:42Speaker 5: a happy ending in a dark sort of way. But yeah,
- 1:32:46Speaker 5: but that's, you know, there's, I mean, online dating is,
- 1:32:50Speaker 5: it's the thing, especially post COVID, right? And those guys
- 1:32:54Speaker 5: are out there. I mean, there was the Tinder swindler,
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: those recently out, but there are certain things that people
- 1:33:00Speaker 5: could look for very early on, I think, and especially women.
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: to spot that controlling sort of nightmare in it. I
- 1:33:09Speaker 5: think it's a spectrum, right? You've got like the insecure,
- 1:33:12Speaker 5: jealous guy on one end, which is, composes a freakishly
- 1:33:16Speaker 5: embarrassingly high percentage of men. But then on the other side,
- 1:33:20Speaker 5: you've got like psycho killers like this, right? And I
- 1:33:23Speaker 5: think it really is like, you know, that controlling guy
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: that doesn't want you to hang out with your friends,
- 1:33:27Speaker 5: the one, you know, you get into like the domestic
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: violence scale, you know, the cycle of violence and all that.
- 1:33:32Speaker 5: And it just, It's just kind of, it's all parts
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: of the same sort of thing, you know?
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy. Well, let's talk about your show. Let's
- 1:33:41Speaker 3: plug your show for right now. You're doing The Fatal Flaw, right?
- 1:33:45Speaker 5: This is Fatal Flaw. And I'm hoping, fingers crossed, when
- 1:33:48Speaker 5: I was driving over here, they're going to do a
- 1:33:50Speaker 5: season two.
- 1:33:51Speaker 3: Great.
- 1:33:52Speaker 5: It's on Hulu. Yep, it's on Hulu. So this is,
- 1:33:55Speaker 5: it's a project by a man named David Sloan at ABC,
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: who I think is a genius. And- Essentially, they're taking 20,
- 1:34:03Speaker 5: 20 episodes and looking at it in sort of a
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: new angle. Like, what was the mistake that the killer made?
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: Which is awesome for me because as a prosecutor, that's
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: all we did. It's like, where is the mistake that
- 1:34:15Speaker 5: they made and can I make the case based on it?
- 1:34:17Speaker 5: And there was a woman in the 50s who was
- 1:34:19Speaker 5: one of the original true crime fans who had a
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: whole bunch of money who built these dollhouses that were
- 1:34:25Speaker 5: perfect replicas of these murder scenes. And they use that
- 1:34:29Speaker 5: to train detectives in the 1950s. And so he's, uh,
- 1:34:34Speaker 5: David Sloan has sort of resurrected that concept and they
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: built these, these dioramas, these doll houses. Um, but they're,
- 1:34:42Speaker 5: they're recreations of these murder scenes. And so they use
- 1:34:45Speaker 5: that as a backdrop to retell these stories that are,
- 1:34:48Speaker 5: I mean, I had so much fun doing this and
- 1:34:51Speaker 5: I got to work with Elizabeth Vargas on it. And she's,
- 1:34:54Speaker 5: I think, awesome. And, uh, So hopefully we're going to
- 1:34:57Speaker 5: do a season two. It's a lot of fun. And, uh, yeah, good,
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: interesting stories. And 2020 has such depth on, for these
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: old cases that they did like, you know, 10 years
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: ago that we've all forgotten. And yeah. So I would
- 1:35:11Speaker 5: love to.
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: Do that stuff.
- 1:35:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: Tell everybody where they can follow you on Instagram and
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: DM you.
- 1:35:16Speaker 5: Yes. So it's Matt Murphy. Is it Matt Murphy's with
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: an S I screwed this up last time. Um, So
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: they're Matt Murphy Law or Matt Murphy's Law. That's how
- 1:35:26Speaker 5: lame I am on Instagram. As a DA, we can't
- 1:35:28Speaker 5: really have any social media.
- 1:35:30Speaker 3: Well, now you're not, though.
- 1:35:32Speaker 5: No, now I'm like a teenager. Matt Murphy Law. Okay,
- 1:35:35Speaker 5: Matt Murphy Law.
- 1:35:36Speaker 3: Matt Murphy Law.
- 1:35:37Speaker 5: Yeah, now I'm like a teenager because I've just discovered
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: Instagram in February. And I'm making all the mistakes. But, yeah,
- 1:35:46Speaker 5: it's been a lot of fun.
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: Well, good. Everybody check out that. Follow Matt. Thank you.
- 1:35:49Speaker 3: Always fun and juicy.
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: To talk to you.
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: Thank you so much.
- 1:35:51Speaker 5: I hope we do it again. Absolutely. We should do
- 1:35:53Speaker 5: dating pitfalls online, I think.
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: You're still single, right?
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: I am still single.
- 1:36:00Speaker 3: Okay. Girls, be careful. The car is beautiful. Where did
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: you end up going for it? This exclusive place that
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: Dad has connections with. They have more cars for more
- 1:36:11Speaker 3: dealerships than like anywhere else. You have to put me
- 1:36:13Speaker 3: in touch. What's it called? It's Dune ADL.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: Where?
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: Dunediel. There's an accent on the E. Do you mean... Yes,
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: I got it on Dunediel Cars.
- 1:36:25Speaker 7: Lift?
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: Please. Are you going past Kimmage? Oh, Kimmage.
- 1:36:29Speaker 7: No.
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: Dunediel Cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
