Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: At your early boic praise party. I am Sherry Macket.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's time right now for today's a word. Come home
- 0:10Speaker 1: to Grace, Come home to Grace. Luke fifteen twenty says.
- 0:17Speaker 1: So he returned home to his father, and while he
- 0:19Speaker 1: was still a long way off, his father saw him coming.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son,
- 0:25Speaker 1: embraced him and kissed him. You know, there's something so
- 0:29Speaker 1: powerful about knowing where you belong. The prodigal Sign had
- 0:34Speaker 1: made a terrible, terrible set of decisions. He had taken
- 0:38Speaker 1: his inheritance, walked away from his father's house, wasted everything
- 0:42Speaker 1: he had, and eventually found himself in a place he
- 0:46Speaker 1: never imagined he would be. He was hungry, he was broken,
- 0:50Speaker 1: and sitting in a hog pen. He had lost his money,
- 0:54Speaker 1: he had lost his comfort, he had lost his dignity,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but he had not lost his identity. Come on, Jesus.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Somewhere in the middle of his mess, he remembered his
- 1:05Speaker 1: father's house. He remembered that even his father's servants had
- 1:09Speaker 1: more than enough bread, and something inside him says, I'll
- 1:14Speaker 1: arise and go to my father. What gave him the
- 1:17Speaker 1: courage to go home? He knew who his father was.
- 1:20Speaker 1: He knew there was still a place for him at home.
- 1:24Speaker 1: And when you know who your father is, you can
- 1:27Speaker 1: get back up after you've fallen. You may have made mistakes,
- 1:31Speaker 1: You may have taken a wrong turn. You may have
- 1:34Speaker 1: wasted time, made poor decisions, or announced yourself to get
- 1:37Speaker 1: caught in situations you never intended to be in. But
- 1:41Speaker 1: your mistakes don't have to become your identity. Your condition
- 1:46Speaker 1: may have changed, but your position has not. You are
- 1:49Speaker 1: still a child of the most High God. You are
- 1:51Speaker 1: still loved, You are still valuable, You are still called,
- 1:55Speaker 1: You are still chosen. And the enemy wants you to
- 1:58Speaker 1: believe that because you've messed up, you no longer been long.
- 2:02Speaker 1: He wants to shame you and keep you in the
- 2:06Speaker 1: pig pen, so to speak. He wants guilt to convince
- 2:10Speaker 1: you to stay away from the very father who can
- 2:13Speaker 1: restore you. Oh, but the prodigal son teaches us something
- 2:16Speaker 1: very powerful. You don't have to stay where you are.
- 2:19Speaker 1: You can rise, You can turn around. You can go
- 2:22Speaker 1: home and look at what happened when the son returned.
- 2:25Speaker 1: His father didn't stand on the porch with crossed arms
- 2:28Speaker 1: waiting to lecture him. His father saw him while he
- 2:31Speaker 1: was still a long way off, and ran toward him.
- 2:35Speaker 1: See that's the heart of God. The Father wasn't waiting
- 2:38Speaker 1: to condemn him, he was waiting to restore him. He
- 2:41Speaker 1: didn't say I told you, so, he said, welcome home.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Maybe today it's your day to come home. Not necessarily physically,
- 2:48Speaker 1: but spiritually. You need to come home. Maybe you've drifted
- 2:52Speaker 1: away from God. Maybe you've allowed shame to make you
- 2:54Speaker 1: feel unworthy. Maybe you've been living beneath your identity because
- 2:58Speaker 1: of something you did in your past. Today you need
- 3:03Speaker 1: to arise. The Father's house is still open. There's mercy
- 3:07Speaker 1: for your mistakes, there's grace for your journey, there's forgiveness
- 3:10Speaker 1: for your failures, and there's a father who's ready to
- 3:13Speaker 1: embrace you. So don't let your pass keep you from
- 3:16Speaker 1: your future. You know where you belong. So come home
- 3:19Speaker 1: to grace. Father God, Thank you, Thank you for your
- 3:22Speaker 1: grace that's greater than our mistakes. Your mercy and your
- 3:26Speaker 1: grace is bigger than our failure. Thank you that when
- 3:29Speaker 1: we're lost, you never stop loving us. Oh God, when
- 3:32Speaker 1: we wondered, you never stopped calling us home. We declare
- 3:35Speaker 1: that shame will not keep us in the place where
- 3:38Speaker 1: we fell. We choose to arise, to turn towards You,
- 3:41Speaker 1: and to return to the Father's how thank you that
- 3:45Speaker 1: because of Jesus we are forgiven, we are redeemed, we
- 3:47Speaker 1: are restored and welcomed, And to your presence, help us
- 3:50Speaker 1: God to walk boldly in our identity as your children,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and to never forget that we belong to you. Thank
- 3:57Speaker 1: you for loving us enough to receive us, restore us,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and give us brand new beginnings. In Jesus' name, that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: your word for today. Take it applied to your everyday life,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and you continue to be encouraged and inspired all the
- 4:08Speaker 1: early morning praise party with me, your girl, Sherry Mackie
