- 0:44Hello, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin on this Friday, October 24th.
- 0:50Yeah, it's Friday. Thank God we're here, right? I can't believe it.
- 0:55Well, today's episode is called Kingdom Parenting.
- 1:00Yes, it's a special one. Whether you're a parent, grandparent,
- 1:05mentor, or someone who simply loves children, this message is for you.
- 1:10We're talking about raising kids rooted in faith.
- 1:14Even when life gets messy, loud, and unpredictable Oh yeah So I'm gonna share
- 1:22a story from my perspective About a time when parenting didn't go as planned,
- 1:28Maybe you guys would want to share one with us Maybe you want to share one with
- 1:32your kids Maybe they said something unexpectedly wise Or tested your patience
- 1:38But God turned into a teaching moment.
- 1:44Something like that. There's a night when I remember my daughter was supposed
- 1:49to go to bed and I was exhausted from work.
- 1:52I just wanted five minutes of quiet, but instead she asked, Daddy, can we pray first?
- 1:59That stopped me cold in a moment that I'll never forget because I realized even
- 2:04when I'm tired, God is still using me to teach faith through example.
- 2:10You know, children are so innocent and they'll say something and you first thing
- 2:13you think about is wow You know,
- 2:15you know somewhere down the line Someone's watching someone's listening and
- 2:19you know god had something to do with that one So let me so let me just share
- 2:23this here for you in proverbs chapter 22 verse 6 Train up a child in the way
- 2:28we should go and when he is old Or she,
- 2:32They will not depart from it you'll unpack
- 2:36this by saying faith isn't taught
- 2:39just in sunday school it's lived
- 2:43daily and how we react love forgive and model grace now you don't have to go
- 2:52to church every day or be a church person to understand that right because we
- 2:56all at one point another we church is everywhere and church is.
- 3:01At our home. And I don't want to make it come, I don't want to come across as
- 3:07if by stating that you're not going to Sunday school or church is a bad thing
- 3:12because everybody has their own way of servicing the Lord.
- 3:16So I just want to make sure I point that out. Is it cool to go to Sunday school? I had fun.
- 3:20And I think anybody that is seeking God should try it out and experience it with their children.
- 3:26It's pretty cool to see what they can come up home with and what questions they ask.
- 3:31So let me reflect with some of the things that I wrote down.
- 3:34Parenting through faith means showing patience when we want to snap.
- 3:41I laugh because God knows I've had a lot of moments like that.
- 3:45It means apologizing to your kids when you're wrong, showing humility.
- 3:49It means praying with them, not just for them.
- 3:53Most importantly, it means trusting that God loves your kids even more than you do. It's true.
- 4:01And you can add Dr. E's short comment here if you want.
- 4:05Dr. E is always, always good about it. He may be about our families here or
- 4:11the first classroom or faith and emotional development.
- 4:15Dr. E would always say that. That's my notes there because Dr.
- 4:18E would have a moment right there.
- 4:21And our call to action ends this way. It's a prayer.
- 4:25Heavenly Father, thank you for your gift the family. Thank you for your children,
- 4:30the ones we're raising, teaching, and learning from.
- 4:33Give every parent listening today strength when they're weary,
- 4:37patience when they're frustrated, and joy when they feel unappreciated.
- 4:42Let our homes be filled with love, laughter, and your presence.
- 4:47In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
- 4:49So as you go about your day, remember you do not have to be perfect parent,
- 4:54just a faithful one, because you matter.
- 4:58And never forget, have faith, let it begin.
