- 1:27Speaker 3: This is part two, The Church of Philadelphia. We are
- 1:30Speaker 3: going through the Book of Revelation and we're in Revelation
- 1:35Speaker 3: chapter three. Currently we're at verse seven and we're talking
- 1:41Speaker 3: about the Church of Philadelphia. But as I mentioned, this
- 1:46Speaker 3: is part two because this church did not receive any
- 1:52Speaker 3: correction at all. There was no correction given to this church.
- 1:56Speaker 3: So I want to know the secret sauce I don't know.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Whenever we come across something like this in scripture, we
- 2:02Speaker 3: need to dig in a little deeper. We need to
- 2:05Speaker 3: find out why we need to pick it apart, because
- 2:09Speaker 3: that's why God put it in the scripture, so that
- 2:13Speaker 3: we can search out a matter, so that we can
- 2:17Speaker 3: dig and get the treasures that are buried in it,
- 2:21Speaker 3: and so that we can make it our own, you
- 2:24Speaker 3: know what I mean.
- 2:25Speaker 2: So praise God that haalujah.
- 2:31Speaker 3: We need to make it our own. So thank you
- 2:36Speaker 3: for joining us. If we want to join the live chat,
- 2:40Speaker 3: join the community. Yes, we will be live in the

- 3:29Speaker 3: takes less than ten seconds to do it and bam,
- 3:32Speaker 3: you are in there.
- 3:34Speaker 2: You are a part.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Of the community, encouraging each other, giving that word you
- 3:43Speaker 3: know what I'm saying and doing the thing. So, like
- 3:48Speaker 3: I said before, I'm excited. We are extending this topic
- 3:56Speaker 3: from yesterday talking about the Church of Philadelphia. The question
- 4:04Speaker 3: is why was the Church of the Philadelphia not rebuked.
- 4:10Speaker 3: This church did not receive any rebukes. This church did
- 4:14Speaker 3: not receive any correction at all, and we want to
- 4:19Speaker 3: know why. So let's go before a heavenly Father in prayer.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Heavenly Father, we thank you, Father, God for your grace,
- 4:28Speaker 3: We thank you for your mercy. We thank you God
- 4:31Speaker 3: to help us to dig deeper. Let us dive into
- 4:34Speaker 3: the deep end of the pool today as we seek
- 4:38Speaker 3: out more revelation, more understanding, and we desire to be
- 4:44Speaker 3: that church. We desire to be the people who did
- 4:48Speaker 3: not receive the correction. I mean, we do want correction
- 4:54Speaker 3: if needed, but we want to walk so faithful to
- 4:57Speaker 3: You to where we don't even that correction won't even
- 5:00Speaker 3: be necessary. We see it with the Church of Philadelphia,
- 5:05Speaker 3: and we want to strive and apply this in our
- 5:08Speaker 3: own lives.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Father, So in Jesus' name, Amen and Amen.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Now, I don't want to make it seem like it's
- 5:16Speaker 3: a bad thing to receive correction, because let me say this.
- 5:20Speaker 3: The Lord corrects those whom he loved. So if God
- 5:23Speaker 3: has corrected you, that's a good thing.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Amen.
- 5:27Speaker 3: But I want to be like this church. That I mean,
- 5:32Speaker 3: this church is a great example. And if we can
- 5:35Speaker 3: get to that point where we don't need correction whereas
- 5:38Speaker 3: not necessarily, then why not strive to do better?
- 5:41Speaker 2: Amen?
- 5:43Speaker 3: So Jesus says in Revelation chapter three, verse eight. Revelation three,
- 5:53Speaker 3: verse eight, I know your works. See I have set
- 6:00Speaker 3: before you an open door, and no one can shut it.
- 6:05Speaker 3: If you have a little strength, have kept my word
- 6:10Speaker 3: and have not denied my name. You see, unlike the
- 6:16Speaker 3: other churches, Philadelphia remained faithful. They were faithful. They did
- 6:25Speaker 3: not compromise like Pergamus. They did not grow corrupt like
- 6:31Speaker 3: Thia Tyra. And they were not lukewarm like Leodo Sea.
- 6:37Speaker 3: They did not have a lukewarm attitude. They were generously
- 6:42Speaker 3: genuinely devoted to Christ. It was genuine in their hearts.
- 6:50Speaker 3: They were genuinely devoted to Christ.
- 6:54Speaker 2: That's the word I'm trying to say.
- 6:56Speaker 3: They walked in truth, stood strong even under pressure, even
- 7:03Speaker 3: with a little strength. That phrase means they didn't rely
- 7:09Speaker 3: on worldly power for worldly influence. But trusted entirely, Thank God.
- 7:17Speaker 3: They didn't deny on programs. They didn't trust in flesh.
- 7:21Speaker 3: They didn't go out to the next man and say
- 7:24Speaker 3: help me with this. No, they fully trusted it in
- 7:29Speaker 3: the Lord of their God. So what was the source
- 7:34Speaker 3: of their strength. He is in Jesus's word. You have
- 7:41Speaker 3: a little strength. Have kept my word. You have not
- 7:46Speaker 3: denied my name. That's the key point, hey man, let
- 7:50Speaker 3: me read that again. You have a little strength. You
- 7:54Speaker 3: have kept my word. I have not denied my name.
- 8:00Speaker 3: Their strength wasn't in numbers or wealth, but their strength
- 8:05Speaker 3: was in obedience.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Amen.
- 8:09Speaker 3: Obedience is so important. They were consistent in applying guys
- 8:15Speaker 3: where it's not enough just to know it. It's not
- 8:18Speaker 3: enough just to read it and understand it. You have
- 8:22Speaker 3: to take this second step and imply it. This is
- 8:25Speaker 3: how we ngrafted right faithfulness. They didn't deny Christ even
- 8:33Speaker 3: under pressure persecution. They were faithful. They didn't deny him.
- 8:40Speaker 3: They didn't renounce him even when pressure came, even when
- 8:43Speaker 3: persecution came, they stayed faithful to our Lord.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Amen.
- 8:49Speaker 3: And then they had endurance. They stood the test of time,
- 8:54Speaker 3: even over time. So God will always have a remnant
- 9:00Speaker 3: and I will always have.
- 9:01Speaker 2: A faithful people.
- 9:02Speaker 3: When people are falling off and doing their own thing
- 9:05Speaker 3: and falling away, we need to be those who will
- 9:09Speaker 3: stand strong. We need to be obedient. We need to
- 9:13Speaker 3: pray for faithfulness and endurance. We need to pray for
- 9:16Speaker 3: these things, especially now because now is the time of
- 9:20Speaker 3: the great falling away. Now, this is what Paul meant
- 9:24Speaker 3: in tewod Corinthians twelve nine. My grace is sufficient for you,
- 9:30Speaker 3: for my strength is made perfect in weaknesses. They had
- 9:35Speaker 3: little strength in the natural, but great strength in the
- 9:43Speaker 3: spiritual because of their dependence on Christ. So yeah, in
- 9:51Speaker 3: the natural, you might seem insignificant. People might write you
- 9:56Speaker 3: off and might think you're a bad leader or unlikely.
- 10:02Speaker 3: But you know, God takes those things that are thrown
- 10:05Speaker 3: away by others and he uses them and he exhausts them.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Amen.
- 10:12Speaker 3: So what does it mean exactly to keep his word,
- 10:15Speaker 3: to be a keeper of his word? To keep in
- 10:20Speaker 3: the Greek is t r eo to ro or t row.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I believe that's how you pronounce it. It means to guard,
- 10:32Speaker 3: It means to watch over. It means to observe carefully.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Now we need to keep the word. We need to
- 10:41Speaker 3: guard the word. We need to watch over the word
- 10:44Speaker 3: and we need to observe it carefully. How many things
- 10:48Speaker 3: in our lives that we consider to be valuable that
- 10:51Speaker 3: we have this attitude that we watch it and we
- 10:55Speaker 3: guard it and we observe it. Right, do we have
- 10:59Speaker 3: the same additaeitude about the word? So keeping the word
- 11:03Speaker 3: means living by it daily. That is one of the
- 11:08Speaker 3: reasons why I come here on this podcast on a
- 11:11Speaker 3: daily basis, because this forces me to get in my
- 11:14Speaker 3: word consistently, and it's helping my discipline as well as
- 11:20Speaker 3: it's helping yours. Right because we come together. Hey man,
- 11:25Speaker 3: so we gotta live by a daily We gotta hold
- 11:28Speaker 3: it close, not changing it to fit our culture. Now,
- 11:33Speaker 3: let me repeat that again. We gotta hold it close,
- 11:37Speaker 3: the Word of God, and we cannot change the word
- 11:41Speaker 3: just to fit our culture. Being loyal to it even
- 11:46Speaker 3: when it's unpopular, even when it's unpopular. Is it popular
- 11:51Speaker 3: today or unpopular? Yes, we know that those who stick
- 11:58Speaker 3: to the word it is a very unpopular thing. As
- 12:02Speaker 3: a matter of fact, I just launch my DJ service
- 12:06Speaker 3: and I'm advertising myself as a Christian, clean upbeat, family
- 12:12Speaker 3: friendly DJ and I've had someone from the A venue
- 12:17Speaker 3: reach out to me, and they asked me, you know,
- 12:19Speaker 3: will I do an LGBT event? And I told him no,
- 12:24Speaker 3: you know, I will not do that. And so I
- 12:28Speaker 3: didn't get that gig. And I know it's gonna be
- 12:30Speaker 3: hard and difficult. There's gonna be money that I'm not
- 12:34Speaker 3: gonna be able to make, an opportunities that I might
- 12:37Speaker 3: be able to embark on because of my stands. But
- 12:41Speaker 3: I'd rather stay faithful to the word even when it's
- 12:45Speaker 3: not popular. Now, Jesus said in John fourteen twenty three,
- 12:50Speaker 3: if anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and
- 12:54Speaker 3: my father will love him, and we will come to
- 12:59Speaker 3: him and make our home with him. The Church of
- 13:03Speaker 3: Philadelphia guarded the Gospel like a treasure an honored Christ's
- 13:10Speaker 3: name in the face of opposition. Let me say that again,
- 13:15Speaker 3: because that's awesome. This is the secret sauce. Family, This
- 13:19Speaker 3: is you know what I mean.
- 13:21Speaker 2: This is the secret sauce.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Right here is the church the Philadelphia guarded the Gospel
- 13:27Speaker 3: like a treasure and honored Christ's name in the face
- 13:31Speaker 3: of opposition. Now what was the reward of this? Because
- 13:39Speaker 3: of their faithfulness, Jesus promised an open door, opportunity, access,
- 13:46Speaker 3: and authority. There was an open door before this church.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Now some churches won't be able to stand before the
- 13:57Speaker 3: doors that church is like Philadelphia, is able to stand
- 14:03Speaker 3: in front of or to go through.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 14:06Speaker 3: So this might cause animosity. Haters might hate, but don't
- 14:13Speaker 3: shrink back. Be confident in bold and walk through every
- 14:17Speaker 3: door that God is open because our faithfulness and our
- 14:24Speaker 3: alignment and keeping our hearts right now. He also promised
- 14:28Speaker 3: protection from the hour of trial, and that's in verse ten.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Also permanent place in God's present a pillar in the temple,
- 14:41Speaker 3: that's verse twelve. And a new name written by God
- 14:46Speaker 3: symbolizes identity, belonging and eternal security. A man a new name,
- 14:53Speaker 3: that's relationship. That's like a promise ring or getting name
- 14:59Speaker 3: his name tattoos.
- 15:00Speaker 2: It's like that's intimacy all right now. The final thoughts.
- 15:10Speaker 3: About our brothers and sisters in Philadelphia. Philadelphia shows us
- 15:18Speaker 3: that God is not impressed for how big we.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Are, but how faithful we are. The key to spiritual
- 15:30Speaker 2: strength is not pride.
- 15:33Speaker 3: It is not power, but humble obedience, loyalty to the truth.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Any heart that refuses to deny Jesus the heart that
- 15:52Speaker 3: refuses to deny Jesus Christ.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Amen. That is awesome. That is awesome right there. Let
- 16:08Speaker 2: me hit you real quick with the music.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Break you got Chris Elijah on deck with tough you
- 16:17Speaker 3: the fire, say faithful.
- 16:22Speaker 2: He was locked right here to how radio. We will
- 16:24Speaker 2: come back.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Ball through the fire, been through the furnace, Chris, Ball

- 16:47Speaker 4: staying down, never gave up. I got a bag on me.
- 16:50Speaker 4: He is out and there tag on me. You know
- 16:52Speaker 4: I'm trying to brag on me. I'm so blad he
- 16:56Speaker 4: sent me. I got a recipe. Chase some my destiny
- 16:58Speaker 4: one ka the pedigree BA to believe I got a
- 17:01Speaker 4: recipe you could it? Get up carefully. I'm thinking Heavenly
- 17:03Speaker 4: got her cheese. I'ma put the cross on the bed,
- 17:06Speaker 4: put the whole city on the had to pit the
- 17:08Speaker 4: county down. Had a couple of trying fight. Noam it,
- 17:10Speaker 4: you can't hold me down. I'm fat better than that.
- 17:13Speaker 4: Count them to blessing that self. I'm only thinking this level. No,
- 17:16Speaker 4: we do not dance with the devil. I bet it
- 17:18Speaker 4: all on the sun.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:19Speaker 4: I put the Lord on my schedule and I'm doing time.
- 17:21Speaker 4: Be not federal rod. I will not settle for the lessel.
- 17:23Speaker 4: Keep on applying the pressure if it's brought me some
- 17:25Speaker 4: TESSELA trusting the Lord, You're gonna teest you. I walking
- 17:28Speaker 4: on a special institute, rich drew ufo pedal. We fit
- 17:31Speaker 4: the Lord. Only thing that was scared of walking the
- 17:33Speaker 4: fire going need the metal, go to the mouth. Ball
- 17:36Speaker 4: through that. My yam went through the furniture. It's your
- 17:38Speaker 4: new they new wave, new carent. He's on the Christians
- 17:40Speaker 4: drift for the Lord. Put you in my vision. I
- 17:42Speaker 4: got a little for while through the fireachd to me
- 17:44Speaker 4: you a cop, and I told her, dang just I
- 17:46Speaker 4: gotta look up crown on my hand in this stuff.
- 17:49Speaker 4: Stay down. Never gave up all through that. Iya went
- 17:52Speaker 4: through the furniture. It's your new day, new wave, new card.
- 17:55Speaker 4: He's on the Christians drift for the Lord. Put you
- 17:57Speaker 4: in my vision, I gott a little for while through
- 17:59Speaker 4: the fireat me he clock, and I told me, dam
- 18:01Speaker 4: just I gotta look up. Crown on my hand in
- 18:03Speaker 4: the store, staying down, never gave up. He's not a Christian,
- 18:11Speaker 4: a drift of the Lord. But you in my vision,
- 18:13Speaker 4: I got it know for crown on my head in
- 18:18Speaker 4: the stuff.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Alright, all right, we are back from that music break.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Gotta be faithful through the fire. This is an extended
- 18:42Speaker 3: episode in the Church of Philadelphia. We're looking up the
- 18:48Speaker 3: secret sauce. We want to know why this church did
- 18:52Speaker 3: not receive any rebuke but encouragement open doors. That they're
- 18:59Speaker 3: a pillarer in the Temple of God. They have a
- 19:03Speaker 3: guy's name written on them. Like that's my tribe right there.
- 19:07Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:08Speaker 3: These are my peace and so we wanted to spend
- 19:11Speaker 3: some more time at this church, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:15Speaker 3: So I wanted to actually, as we close this out,
- 19:24Speaker 3: I want to go over some discussion questions. I think
- 19:30Speaker 3: we need to reflect. We need to learn how to
- 19:33Speaker 3: apply this and how to understand it.
- 19:36Speaker 2: So bear with me.
- 19:37Speaker 3: I got a lot of them. I got like ten questions.
- 19:40Speaker 3: I want us to go through. But if you stick
- 19:43Speaker 3: with me, I believe it will pay off in the end.
- 19:47Speaker 3: And I want you to actually write down your answer,
- 19:50Speaker 3: like really really think about it and answer these questions honestly.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Hey man, So question number one is what does having
- 20:06Speaker 3: a little strength mean to you personally? You?
- 20:12Speaker 2: Personally? What does it mean to have little strength?
- 20:16Speaker 3: And how can God use your limited ability for a
- 20:21Speaker 3: limitless impact? And ask that again? How can God use
- 20:28Speaker 3: your limited ability for limitless impact?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Amen?
- 20:33Speaker 3: We just read this, read the scripture right, like grace
- 20:38Speaker 3: is sufficient for you. God uses it uses our weakness.
- 20:43Speaker 3: We can't just look at our weakness alone. Get a
- 20:48Speaker 3: look up at God's strength.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Amen.
- 20:49Speaker 3: I cant gave you that, but that's my answer, but
- 20:52Speaker 3: you put your own answer down all right. Jesus commended
- 20:56Speaker 3: them for keeping his word today's core. What does it
- 21:01Speaker 3: look like to truly keep you know, obay, the word
- 21:05Speaker 3: of God? What does it look like in today's culture
- 21:08Speaker 3: to keep it? We keep other things? Right, We keep
- 21:12Speaker 3: our wallets, we keep our cell phones. How much more
- 21:16Speaker 3: important is it for us to keep the word of God?
- 21:20Speaker 3: Have you ever had an open door moment in your life?
- 21:26Speaker 3: What did it teach you about trusting God's timing and opportunities.
- 21:33Speaker 2: So God's open door. Amen's how nature.
- 21:36Speaker 3: We should understand that God is opening doors left and
- 21:39Speaker 3: right for us right now.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Amen.
- 21:43Speaker 3: The Church of Philadelphia did not deny Jesus. They did
- 21:47Speaker 3: not deny his name under pressure. Now the question is
- 21:52Speaker 3: what kind of situations might tempt us to hide our
- 21:55Speaker 3: faith or compromise. What kind of situation would be tempting
- 22:02Speaker 3: for us to hide our faith and compromise or be
- 22:06Speaker 3: ashamed of the gospel. Man, that's a good one. We
- 22:09Speaker 3: need to take that one in prayer. I've struggled with that.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Jesus promised them protection and eternal identity. He promised them
- 22:20Speaker 3: protection and eternal identity. Or does being a little pillar
- 22:25Speaker 3: in the temple of God mean for your identity in Christ?
- 22:32Speaker 2: They were not rebuked, only praised.
- 22:38Speaker 3: And say that again, this church was not rebuked, They
- 22:41Speaker 3: were only praised the whole time. What are the signs
- 22:45Speaker 3: of a church or a believer who is living a
- 22:49Speaker 3: spiritual faithful life? What are the signs of a church
- 22:57Speaker 3: or an individual believer who is living.
- 22:59Speaker 2: In spiritual faithfulness?
- 23:04Speaker 3: Right? Question seven? Why do you think Jesus emphasizes faithfulness
- 23:10Speaker 3: over clashiness or big platforms. Why do you think Jesus
- 23:18Speaker 3: emphasizes faithfulness over flashiness or big platforms. How can we
- 23:24Speaker 3: value obedience more than public recognition?
- 23:28Speaker 2: How?
- 23:29Speaker 3: How can you value we should value? But how can
- 23:32Speaker 3: we do that over public recognition? Jesus promised to write
- 23:39Speaker 3: on them the name of my God in my new name.
- 23:45Speaker 2: That is a question.
- 23:46Speaker 3: What does it mean for you to carry the identity
- 23:49Speaker 3: of Christ in your everyday life? What does it mean?
- 23:54Speaker 3: What does it mean for you to carry the name
- 23:58Speaker 3: the identity of Christ in your everyday life? Amen, Philadelphia,
- 24:06Speaker 3: remain faithful despite being small? How can smaller churches or
- 24:14Speaker 3: ministries remain encouraged in their mission?
- 24:20Speaker 2: And man?
- 24:22Speaker 3: Even though we may be smaller than others, and that
- 24:26Speaker 3: is definitely his Hot Nation. We are small, but how
- 24:30Speaker 3: can we stay and remain encouraged in our mission? Last question?
- 24:38Speaker 3: Beloved Jesus says he who has an ear, let him hear.
