- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Welcome back, big ballers.
- 0:17SPEAKER_00: It's your boy Manny James coming at you with another episode of the The Fancy Fumble.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: How the hell are you folks doing today?
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Can't hear you.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: All right, sounds good.
- 0:27SPEAKER_01: Joe, how the hell are you doing, brother?
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: I'm doing great.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: We're wrapping up our rankings videos with quarterbacks that some of you may be interested in, but we know it's not quite as appealing as running backs and wide receivers.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: And that's why we got it at 15, just like the tight ends.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: Because after 15, you're kind of on your own.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: We'll get into that, but before that, a word from our sponsors.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: Hey there.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: I'm a U.S.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: My specialty is VA transactions, most of experience in all parts real estate.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, you're willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: And what's that, Manny?
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Too straight, Dan.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: If you ever consider buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your sticks.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: I'm Manny James Gonzalez.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Find land for the free and home for the brave.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Josh Allen always finds his way to the top.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: He can do it all, and he's proven that over and over again.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: He set multiple records last year and is at the peak of his career.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: The top 10 offensive line will continue to provide plenty of protection for Allen, who also had 12 rushing touchdowns last year.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: And I know I've been seeing that across the board consensus.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Number one is Josh Allen.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Uh, but let me tell you why I have this flipped over a little bit.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: My number one quarterback for the season is going to be Lamar Jackson.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Now, if you look at the numbers alone, Lamar Jackson was your MVP last year.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: He had over 430 points for let for the season last year, uh, while Josh Allen finished at 379.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Um Lamar Jackson patched for more passing yards.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: He had double the rushing yards, and he had over 20 more uh or actually over 10 more touchdowns total.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: So he had an amazing season.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Um unfortunately, he just um I don't know, he lost some some game.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, they had a pretty strong season, so I don't know why he didn't get the the recognition.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: Um, but at the end of the day, he he just had a way better season.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: I expect him to come back with a chip on his shoulders.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: Um to feel like he does.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: I know he mentioned that he felt like he was slatted a little bit for that MVP race.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: So uh I expect him to come back this year and just completely take off.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you've seen him this offseason, but he gained like an addition, I think he lost like an additional 10 pounds or something like that.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: So he's trying to get even uh even faster.
- 3:46SPEAKER_01: Okay, I didn't know that.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: Um, but that's who I have at number two, Lamar Jackson.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: And what you said is is completely accurate.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: He might have something to say about that top spot because he finished as the number one last season with well over 5,000 yards, including over 900 rushing yards, and is always performing at the highest level.
- 4:12SPEAKER_01: The team he had last year is basically the same as the one he has this year, so expect another incredible season.
- 4:18SPEAKER_01: And they're another team with a top 10 offensive line.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: So he stays protected, it's why he runs so well.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: Same reason Josh Allen runs so well.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: He didn't have quite as many rushing touchdowns, but as you said, he had more total touchdowns.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: He was the better quarterback last year.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: He could easily do it again.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: But since it's typically Josh Allen, I gave him the slight edge this year and have Lamar at number two.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: You know, and that's funny because I have um I have Josh Allen at number two, obviously, for a lot of the same reasons, right?
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: These two guys had some amazing seasons last year.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: If you had one or the other, you were definitely a happy, happy man or woman, uh, whatever you call yourself.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Um at the end of the day, those guys are gonna be the should be the first two quarterbacks off the board.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, and and my recommendation too, these are quarterbacks.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: If you want these guys, you gotta grab them in the second round.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Doesn't matter if you're in the beginning of it or the end, uh, because if you don't grab it near the middle, it's gonna be gone, right?
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: So that's my recommendation.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: Those two guys are gonna get you over the most fantasy points out of any one individual player on your whole team, and it's gonna be like by 50 points at least.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, what is that?
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Uh what like three three points a game, 17 games.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, man, that's such a good point, and we've mentioned this before.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: But if you really do want one of those guys, sometimes you got to reach for them.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Don't feel bad, you know.
- 5:47SPEAKER_01: If you want them on your team, you gotta reach for them, do it, they will make the difference.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, now at number three, I've got Jaden Daniels.
- 5:59SPEAKER_01: I think Daniels is another one that could find his way to the top spot, but he would out he would have to outperform the amazing season he had last year to do it, and that's gonna be tough because he finished his rookie season with almost 4,500 yards, including nearly 900 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: But one thing that we mentioned when we were discussing wide receivers, McLaurin needs to get on the field, or that could hinder all the production for Jaden Daniels.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: Of course, he's a mobile quarterback, he's gonna run a lot, but that's his top guy.
- 6:35SPEAKER_01: He needs him on the field.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: I am a fan of Jaden Daniels.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I'll touch up on him here in a little bit.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Who I actually have at number three is Mr.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: Joe Barrow.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: So if you look at um attempts per game last year for NFL quarterbacks, um no one passed the ball more than Joe Barrow.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: He was passing it 27 times a game.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: Next highest guy can't was uh uh Patrick Mahomes at 24 times a game.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: You had uh Baker Mayfield at 24 times a game.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: So like the you know, this guy is significantly thrown, he's only throwing three or four more passes per game, which doesn't seem like a lot, but obviously over a 17-game season, it makes a difference.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Um, he had obviously close to 5,000 passing yards last year.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: He finished the season at uh 4,918.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: So if if he's doing that kind of attempts this year, like we mentioned before in the last episode, you know, Bengals' defense isn't gonna be as good.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: So that means they're gonna have to pass that ball a whole lot more uh because they're to keep the game close.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: So that's why I like Joe Burrow a lot this year.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: I don't typically like grabbing multiple quarterbacks um earlier, like earlier in the second round.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but what I did this year, I I looked at my tiers a little bit different, and uh how I'm looking at it now is like uh Joe Burrow is a quarterback that I'm willing to grab at the uh beginning of the third round.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: I totally agree with that, and I'm gonna touch on it soon.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Um but at number four, I have Jalen Hurts.
- 8:12SPEAKER_01: Another mobile quarterback, just like the first three I mentioned, that will continue to dominate on the football field.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: A well-deserving Super Bowl champion that has no intention of slowing down with amazing pass catchers and the best offensive line in the NFL, which allowed him to score 14 rushing touchdowns.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: He will continue to utilize Barkley in the passing game too.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: And if his wide receivers can stay healthy, that will expand the opportunities for Hurts and keep him inside the top five without a problem.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: I definitely agree with that.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: Um, however, my number four is a little bit shuffled.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: Jaden Daniels obviously love love his performance last year.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Um, he was killing it, both offense, you know, rushing and passing.
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: Um, I expect him to take a step forward, maybe affected a little bit by this Eric McLaurin uh business early on.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: But if somebody's selling, you know, selling high on you know, selling low on Jaden Daniels, like after a couple bad performances, make a move for him because he he's gonna bounce right back.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I definitely love him as a top five quarterback this year.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: And at number five, I have a gentleman that you just touched on and I agreed with every single word, Joe Burrow.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: He's a quarterback that doesn't run at all, unlike the first four that I mentioned.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: But he has some of the best offensive weapons in the league with Jamar Chase, T.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: Higgins, Chase Brown, Marcus Ecky, among others.
- 9:48SPEAKER_01: The Bengals had more pass yards, again, as you mentioned.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: They have more pass yards than any other team in the league with 4,918 yards.
- 9:56SPEAKER_01: The offensive line has some work to do to keep Burrow protected, and that is something they need to do because he's been banged up in recent years.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: So we they need to work on their offensive line, um, but their defensive line is really bad too.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: So they are gonna be on offense a lot, and they're gonna be probably throwing the ball to stay in the game.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: If they're not blowing the teams out and it's a close game, they're gonna be throwing the ball left and right.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: And Burrow's just gonna light it up.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't be surprised at all, as you said, if he finishes in the top three.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: But I have him at the five spot.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: And you know, and Cincinnati's D-line isn't that bad.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: They obviously they have uh Shamar Stewart, the rookie, but they have to pay Trey Henderson to have a good D line.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: If they don't pay him, obviously the D-line is gonna be buns.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: So the longer they they go without paying him, the the more lopsided games are gonna be for them.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: So again, translate to fantasy success on offense.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Most definitely.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: I have a feeling they're gonna be in a lot of high-scoring games.
- 11:02SPEAKER_01: Now, who's uh who's at your five spot?
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Uh I have Jalen Hurts.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Again, Eagles fan.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: I have to temper my expectations, right?
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Um, he had an amazing season last year.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Um, he still wasn't like the top five scoring quarterback last year, but I think obviously, with like I mentioned before, Saquon Barkley, we're gonna probably tone down the run game a little bit this year and then go past more because the league's gonna force us to win in a different way, right?
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: Because that's just how the NFL trends and goes.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: So, with that being said, you're still not gonna stop the uh brotherly shove at that one-yard line.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: It's not illegal.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: Um, and Jalen Hurst is gonna get his uh his touchdowns in 14.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: I'd say uh 10 touchdowns a season is pretty solid, you know, expectation for him as far as rushing goes.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: And then uh expect more passing touchdowns because 18 last year was not very good.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: Uh, but he only threw him when he needed to throw him, right?
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: So that that that I think expects to to produce some more.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: Now, who do you have at number six?
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: Number six, I do have Patrick Mahomes.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Uh Mahomes, obviously, last year people you know are like, oh, he didn't have a great season.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: You know, he didn't have a Mahomes like season, but he still averaged 17 points a game, which is solid.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: He was actually, as I mentioned before, he had the second most pass attempts per game in the NFL last year.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: You know, he didn't even have that that many notable weapons.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, last year Xavier Worthy was a rookie he had.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: Rasheed Rice was out for after the fourth game, he tore his ACL, right, because of his own QB in that overtime game.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Um, so they they just unfortunately they they were behind a lot of games and they've managed to win the close ones, but he wasn't really uh, you know, lighting up the scoreboard like we're used to.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: So I expect this year, with the fact that they are not the returning champions, they're gonna have to come back and really prove themselves again.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: And I expect Patrick Mahomes to take a step forward and actually have a Mahomes-like season.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: I think he's gonna take a step forward as well.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: I have a few spots down, but at number six for me, I actually have Baker Mayfield.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Right near the top for most passing yards was Baker.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: He finished with over 4,500 pass yards and close to 400 rushing yards.
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: He has Evans and Godwin back for more, plus McMillan, who actually was, as we discussed earlier, under the radar, really productive.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Uh Igbuka and Kate Otten will both be involved too.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: So he's got a bunch of different pass options.
- 13:51SPEAKER_01: So even if Godwin is not up to his full potential uh by week one, you know, he will come back and Baker's gonna spread the ball out and everyone's gonna be involved.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: And they also have a top five offensive line, and he likes to run the ball when he needs to.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: He's impressive when he runs the ball.
- 14:09SPEAKER_01: It's it's funny because you don't expect it, but he's pretty good.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: So I have him at the sixth spot.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: And Baker Maryfield has grit.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: You know, I think that's what makes him great quarterback.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Um, and I and I agree with you, he will be a um an excellent quarterback this year.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: I have him at number seven.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: He played 17 games last year.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously over 4,500 yards, right?
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Like sounding like a broken record right now.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: Um that you know, the 41 touchdowns, I think if we even get you know 80% of that, you know, production back, you're still looking at a top 10 fantasy quarterback.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So I'm also um I I wouldn't be taking them earlier than the fifth round, uh, but uh there's a couple guys I would take in the fifth round, which included Mahomes as well.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: Now at number seven, I have Bo Nicks.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: He had an amazing rookie year, and he's built more rapport with the team, and I think he's gonna have an even better year this time around.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: He looked great as a passer and racked up 400 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns, too.
- 15:21SPEAKER_01: He and Cortland Sutton will be lighting it up, and Ingram's gonna be heavily involved, and they have one of the best O-lines in the league that will get Bo to the next level.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: I know that seventh spot is a bold prediction, but he impressed me last year, and I expect him to take a big step forward this year.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I like Bo.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: Uh definitely see what he does this year.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Um, who's your number eight?
- 15:48SPEAKER_01: Number eight, I have Brock Purdy.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: I know he's way down on on most people's lists, but he had a down year in 2024.
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: But you got to remember the 49ers banged up the entire season.
- 16:04SPEAKER_01: Half the team was injured.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: They had their second and third string on the field for most of the season.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: And although Ayuk will be out for a while and Debo was traded, as I said earlier, Debo really only had like one good season when he was acting as wide receiver one and the running back one.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: He was not just a gadget player, he was like pretty much the entire offense.
- 16:24SPEAKER_01: I understand that they're gone, and we're not sure when Ayuk's coming back.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: But Brock has a healthy George Kittle, Ricky Pearsall is gonna step up, and of course, McCaffrey, if he's back to full health, you know, all those passes to McCaffrey count.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: So I expect him to grant it to benefit greatly from uh Christian McCaffrey being back on the field and get him back to the guy we saw more of 2023 rather than 2024.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and another guy, obviously, uh not that you forgot him, but he you know, he was under the radar last year.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, he had 975 receiving yards last year.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: Like the guy had 113 targets, like he was he was the guy when those two went down, and even with Debo playing, Juwan Jennings was getting the you know the most looks, yeah.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: Uh, but obviously he didn't make my top 25.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: That's why I didn't talk about him, but you know, it's it's yeah, but no, I mean he's he's on the same level as I mean, he's probably at this point you'd say better than Pearsall.
- 17:26SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's definitely worth mentioning him.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: He's a sleeper you could pick up, and uh, I would advise that because you know a lot of people are gonna forget about him.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: It's it's funny how quickly people forget once the squad's back to full health.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: Uh, but Iuk's down and uh Debo's gone.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: So, you know, Juwan Jennings should be back on your radar.
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: Now, for my number eight, I had Mr.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: Kyler Murray, Arizona.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: Uh, he had almost 300 fantasy points last year, and that's considering he had a down year, but he still averaged all close to 22 passing attempts per game.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: Um, and he ended up finishing with, I'd say one of his uh least productive fantasy seasons because he threw for 26 touchdowns, or he had 26 total touchdowns, including Russian.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: But he had 11 turnovers.
- 18:16SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, that's that's not a really good turnover differential.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: Um, I think he gets on the page, bet uh same page as Harrison this year, and of course, you know, Trey McBride's gonna be there as a the target hog that he is, so I expect Kyler Murray to have another really nice 300-point season.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Now at number nine, I have Justin Fields.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: We've been talking about him.
- 18:43SPEAKER_01: Maybe you and I are a little higher on him than most people are, but I really like him on the Jets, and I believe if any team, like in his past, all the he's been moved around a lot, if they just spent a little bit more time with him, that he could be a superstar.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: But you know, they move on quickly here in the NFL.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: Um, but he's reunited with his Ohio teammate, as we mentioned earlier, Garrett Wilson, and will be running all over the field like a madman, too.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: He had five rushing touchdowns in only 10 games last year.
- 19:10SPEAKER_01: It doesn't hurt to have one of the best patch uh pass catching running backs on your team, too, with Brees Hall.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: You know, he was heavily involved in the passing game.
- 19:20SPEAKER_01: So if Justin Fields gets in some trouble, and of course they're gonna have some plays designed specifically for Brees, all those little shovel passes, and you know, he's gonna have Garrett Wilson working in his favor.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: I just I really like Justin Fields on the Jets, and I think he's gonna have a big year.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: I do like him too.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: Um, however, for my number nine, I have a different Justin.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: I have Justin Herbert.
- 19:46SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we saw what he did with Lad McConkey last year.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Justin Herbert played a full 17-game season.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: I think he's really like getting into himself.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: He has a good offensive line.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: You know, defense is questionable.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: Uh, but they went out and got him another receiver.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: So I expect him to at least uh take a step in the right direction for consistency.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And if he's getting anything close to what he got last year, he was at 285 overall points last year.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I could easily see him getting to 300 because last year wasn't even that great of a year for him uh compared to his rookie.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: So uh I expect that a little a little bit better performance coming out of him.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: I do two, I do two.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Now at number 10, I have Jared Goff.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: You know, I like Goff, so maybe I'm a little biased, but I had him outside of my top, I had him outside of my top 10, and I thought to myself, why?
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Uh believe in your gut and put him in my top 10.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: He's not a mobile quarterback, uh, so he's not gonna be at the tippy top, but he's an amazing player.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: He's clutch with possibly the best offense in the league and a top three offensive line.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Let's take a look at the offense.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: You know, Amon Ross St.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Brown, Jameson Williams, Jameer Gibbs, Dave Montgomery, Sam Laporta, they're all gonna be involved in the passing game.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: And we hope to see John Morton getting everyone involved, as we've been discussing.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: You know, we want to see the ball spread around, but we want to see the studs involved a little bit more in the offense, and I think he's gonna do that.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: And Goff outperforms expectations every season, and I just have a feeling he's gonna do it again.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, big fan of Goff.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Um, however, from for my uh number 10.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: Although for my number 10, um, I actually have CJ Stroud.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: Um, I seen him ranked a lot, a lot uh later in rankings, right?
- 21:47SPEAKER_00: Because he had a bad year or uh injured year, right?
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: Everyone was injured on his team.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: So uh Houston went out and got a bunch of receivers, right?
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: They got Jaden Higgins, um, you know, they got a couple guys in there, another.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Rookie.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Um, and then of course, uh, they have Nico Collins coming back.
- 22:04SPEAKER_00: So I expect him to have another nice low progression, uh, play more than, you know, uh get a little bit more consistency in there because although he his he only hit was plus eight in his turnover differential, there was a lot of things going against him all year long.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: So I don't expect him to have nearly half the you know uh hardships that he did last year.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: When it hopefully he doesn't in regards to injuries.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: Um I just want to talk about him for a second because he's just outside of my top 15 and we're stopping at 15.
- 22:42SPEAKER_01: I actually have him ranked at 16.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: I think all those points you made are completely valid.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: Um he's gonna have a bounce back year for sure.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: Now at number 11, I have Patrick Mahomes.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: We watched him kind of fall off last year, but he still won the division and made it to another Super Bowl.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: So, you know, falling off.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: What's that mean for Patrick Mahomes?
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Um, the last couple years haven't even been bad.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: It's just that the numbers aren't as high as we want them to be.
- 23:14SPEAKER_01: He's still averaging about 4,000 passing yards, and of course, we want that number to be 5,000 because we've seen that so many times.
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: The team is a little banged up, but like Josh Allen, that doesn't even really matter.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: Mahomes will perform, he always finds a way.
- 23:28SPEAKER_01: So even with some of his offense injured, he's been through that dozens of times.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: No big deal, and that's why I have him at 11.
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's not quite the guy he was um in previous seasons, but he's still a total stud.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: I can see that.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: Um, now for my number 11, I actually have Jared Goff.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Obviously, only one spot later than you.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: I'm very bullish on him, uh, much like yourself too.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: I I went through a lot of you know back and forth.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: And I and when I looked at the numbers, you know, um uh the average um season for Jared Goff since he's been to Detroit, which has already been three seasons playing with Detroit.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: This is his fourth, uh, he has uh played 17 games.
- 24:11SPEAKER_00: So all three, all all 17 games, all three seasons, he averages over 4,200 passing yards per season and 30 touch passing touchdowns for that season as well.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: If you look at it, he had like 32, 37, 31 uh in touchdowns and over 4,200 yards every time.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: So he's the model consistency.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: He has all his weapons coming back.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: Uh obviously, we keep talking about a new offensive coordinator.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I think that Jared Goff is the type that can adjust.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: He's a smart guy, so I don't think he's gonna have uh that hard of a time to learn this offense.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: For sure, for sure.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: All good points, man.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Like he's durable as hell.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: 17 games for the last three seasons.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Very, very good point, and over 4,000 yards, no problem.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: And he was good before he was on the lines, too.
- 25:08SPEAKER_01: Now, at number 12, I have Kyler Murray.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: And for him, I think the top 10 is very attainable.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Although he was frustrating to watch, he actually played pretty well last year, and he also had five rushing touchdowns.
- 25:23SPEAKER_01: When this team is healthy, they're an absolute force.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: Marvin Harrison Jr., Trey McBride, and James Conner, they'll all be fed this season.
- 25:30SPEAKER_01: Uh, but we need to see more action in the red zone for all of them, and that will obviously make Kyler Murray more successful.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: That was the biggest hurdle for the Cardinals.
- 25:41SPEAKER_01: Like they just had a hard time finding the end zone consistently, and it was the studs that suffered.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: But they're a really good team, and I have a strong feeling they're gonna get that all sorted out.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for sure.
- 25:57SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Uh my number 12, I do have Bo Nicks.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously had a great uh game uh season last year.
- 26:04SPEAKER_00: He averaged eight 18 and a half points per game, uh, 22 uh passing attempts per game, which is actually uh really good.
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Um, he ended up finishing with over 3,700 yards passing.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Um, the biggest thing that people don't realize, obviously, when Bo Nicks came to Denver last year as a rookie, he was an older rookie.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: I think he was like yeah, was he like 27, 28, or something like that?
- 26:27SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm not sure, but I know that they talked about a few times.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so that that obviously showed you that the guy was mature because his numbers in Oregon were really solid, really uh steady.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: And so uh Sean Payne already knew he was getting a really mature and experienced quarterback.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: So I expect uh Bonex to continue much of that, right?
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: A lot new, uh an extra weapon here in the offseason, uh new running back, right?
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: Upgrade.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: So I expect him to have a better season for sure.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I like all that.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: Now at 13, I have Jordan Love.
- 27:06SPEAKER_01: He struggled last year, but the Packers are a well-rounded team.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: They have capable wide receivers that can go off on any given week.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: He spreads the ball out a lot.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Josh Jacobs is a total beast that will be catching passes too.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: I see this being a big bounce back year for Jordan Love.
- 27:22SPEAKER_01: We've seen what he can do.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: He did struggle, yeah.
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: But you're gonna be just fine.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: And I think we're gonna see uh one of the best Jordan Loves we've seen this year.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm definitely bullish on him.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't have him for number 13.
- 27:37SPEAKER_00: Uh, however, he is close.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Um, right now for number 13, I have Brock Purdy.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: Obviously, a few spots later than you.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Um bad offensive year last year as far as injuries are concerned.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Um, and his options only got less in the offseason, right?
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Like didn't add a single pass catcher uh to him, right?
- 27:56SPEAKER_00: So he as a matter of fact, he lost some more, right?
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Debo got traded.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: So I expect him to be in a similar position, which was obviously pretty solid overall.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: But uh, I expect uh you know him to be feeding a lot of those dump passes to McCaffrey.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: So uh, I mean, when McCaffrey was healthy, he was taking a bunch of those for touchdowns, at least five games.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: So um we'll see how that works out for him this year.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: But he's not he's not gonna be uh uh anything earlier than a seventh or eighth round pickup for me as far as quarterbacks are concerned.
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I like those good points, and I guess it could be you could look at it um either way, as far as the pass catchers, like you know, you lose some of the veterans, but these young dudes are gonna step up.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: It's it's tough to call right now.
- 28:44SPEAKER_01: Um now at 14, I have Caleb Williams with Ben Johnson coming over from the Lions.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: We could see a significant increase in production for this entire team.
- 28:56SPEAKER_01: The way DJ Moore was used the last couple years is so frustrating.
- 29:01SPEAKER_01: And he's an amazing wide receiver, and so is Roma Dunze.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: And of course, DeAndre Swift is heavily involved in the passing game, too.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: Uh, finding the end zone was difficult for the whole team.
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: You know, it's the same issues as we're talking about with some of these other studs, is they need to get in the end zone.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: But I think that Caleb Williams and DJ Moore, they're a great combo, and they're gonna be really, really playing at the top level this year.
- 29:26SPEAKER_01: Um, and I'm eager to see what Ben Johnson can cook up for these guys.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: That'll be cool to watch.
- 29:32SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: I like I like Caleb this year for sure.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: I don't have him that high, but um only a couple spots back.
- 29:38SPEAKER_00: Actually, he didn't make my top 15, unfortunately.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: It was very hard.
- 29:43SPEAKER_00: Um, there's a couple other guys that edged him out, but I think the difference is um uh CJ Shroud hit my top.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's just outside of mine.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: But but but so far we've been like very, very close.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: And and folks, keep in mind we don't we don't get show each other these beforehand, we just kind of wing it, do the show and wing it.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: So all this stuff is is coming up as as we discuss it.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: Um, which brings my number 14 guy, which I think was your number 13.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: That's Jordan Love.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Um, obviously a lot of weapons.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: They added a new one.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Um uh Marcus Golden, right?
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Or or is it Matt Matthew Golden, the wide receiver?
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: Uh he's I don't know, it's Golden.
- 30:26SPEAKER_01: I know that.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think it's Matthew.
- 30:28SPEAKER_00: Um, but he's uh he got drafted.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Obviously, Jaden Reed's there.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Um they lost Christian Watson for half the season because of that ACL he took late in the season, um ACL injury.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: So now it's gonna be Romeo Dubs and you know, and Jaden Reed.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: So uh I think that either way they're gonna get them all involved.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: Uh they have Josh Jacobs, maybe they'll give him a few more dump passes this year.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: But um Tucker Kraft, too.
- 30:57SPEAKER_01: You know, that he'll be heavily involved.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: Hopefully he gets more than four looks a game.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Right, that'd be nice.
- 31:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I shouldn't say he will be, he should be heavily involved.
- 31:06SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
- 31:07SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I like Jordan this year.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: He should be pretty solid.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Now, finishing my list at the 15 spot, I have Justin Herbert.
- 31:18SPEAKER_01: He took a step back over the last couple years compared to his first three seasons in the NFL, but he's also been playing through injuries.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: If he can come into this season healthy, we could see the guy we know and love from back a few years ago.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: And he lost Keenan, but he got a young lad that showed up in a big way to fill those shoes.
- 31:37SPEAKER_01: So people forget that Herbert can run the ball too, and the Chargers have a great offensive line.
- 31:43SPEAKER_01: He's just been struggling mostly because he's been banged up.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: If he can come back at full health with you know healthy wide receivers, because you also got to remember how often Keenan was banged up.
- 31:53SPEAKER_01: So he was like at the peak of his game while Keenan was at the peak of his game, and then they both went through some injuries and then he lost Keenan.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: But again, he's got a strong receiving core again and just a capable team all around on offense and defense, and I think he's gonna have a big year.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: You know, and it's funny you say that, you know, they were at the peak of their game at the same time because obviously Keenan Allen being in the league eight, nine years, you know, you're talking about a guy like they went off like that.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: I think it was uh Herbert's second or third year.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so now Herbert's been in five years, and uh I'm a big fan of him.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: I think he's definitely gonna, as long as they give him the pass catchers, he should be good.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Um, but that healthy being healthy is gonna be a big factor as well.
- 32:37SPEAKER_00: They they really need him to he played 17 games, but he he got banged up in a few games.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: They didn't need to work on that pass protection.
- 32:45SPEAKER_01: And lads got to stay healthy too.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: Now for my final number 15 quarterback, we mentioned him earlier, as I said here, um, but I have Justin Fields.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: He only played 10 games last year for Pitt, obviously not to his choosing.
- 33:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, and he was playing them exactly how he needed to.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: He wasn't making dumb decisions, he was running up uh plays that were called, and then for some reason, um Pittsburgh decided that it would be a better idea to just bench him and let Russell Wilson air it out.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: They're four and two, and then it obviously it went all downhill from then.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: So you never really got to see what Justin Fields can do, right?
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: I think if people got to see what he can actually do on a consistent basis, and that's like play his game, then you would actually see how good of a quarterback he is, right?
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: Because coming out of Ohio State, I mean, the guy was a star in Ohio State, and it wasn't just for his arm, it was for his uh, you know, intelligence, his running ability.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: So I think the New York Jets are gonna unlock that a little bit in him, run that West Coast offense.
- 33:51SPEAKER_00: And uh, you know, he didn't last year he had uh over 300 rushing yards in 10 games.
- 33:57SPEAKER_00: You know, that's 30 yards a game.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: That's not anything crazy, but um, that's playing a restrained role with them running the ball like 50 times a game.
- 34:06SPEAKER_00: Never really got a chance to show what he's got.
- 34:08SPEAKER_00: He did the perfect job last year being a game manager, right?
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: Doing exactly what Pittsburgh asked for him, but they never gave let him, you know, uncork it, right?
- 34:16SPEAKER_00: Let it go and really see what's out there.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: So I think now he has the opportunity to do that.
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: Garrett Wilson is an excellent receiver.
- 34:23SPEAKER_00: He's gonna he's very quarterback friendly.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and hopefully the offensive uh game plan kind of plays off the strengths, which is gonna be a lot of you know, quarterback bootlegs and and obviously running the ball through Brees primarily, right?
- 34:37SPEAKER_00: So it opens up the passing lane.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: So uh if they can do that, I think um Justin Fields would be a nice fancy asset because he might give you some rushing points there as well.
- 34:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, totally agree with that.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: And uh I didn't like how the Steelers moved on, you know, when he was doing really well four and two.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: And you know, I'm I'm glad that honestly that we don't really have pickings anymore either because um he wasn't contributing as much as he should have been.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: But uh not the best attitude, but I think Justin Fields has a great attitude, and like you said, if teams would just take a little bit more time with him, I think he'd totally be a stupid superstar.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: The Bears, I don't think, spent enough time with him either.
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: So I like what we see in New York, and I hope I really hope they keep him and and he can thrive.
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 35:26SPEAKER_00: All right, ladies and gentlemen.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: Well, that that about wraps up our show here.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: Uh, again, we appreciate you guys coming by.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: This was everything we we already decided that we're gonna keep the content going.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Obviously, if there's uh you know preseason stuff going on.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Uh Joe and I want to do some uh fancy drafts or mock drafts in front of you guys, kind of uh break it down so we kind of start establishing some trends, some uh strategies for the draft and see how we could maximize your output.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, we're gonna be doing a mock draft next week, and um we'll see what we'll see what happens when we go with our strategy of being heavy on the running backs in the first few rounds.
- 36:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I probably used and and if I'm being honest, I probably was heavier over the last previous years on running back.
- 36:18SPEAKER_00: I remember I would take like three or four running backs in the first four or five rounds.
- 36:22SPEAKER_00: Like that's how crazy.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: And then those teams ended up being the most lopsided.
- 36:26SPEAKER_00: So um obviously it's a lot less bullish than maybe it used to be.
- 36:31SPEAKER_01: And like you said, you've been you know gunning for the top-tier quarterback.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: So, you know, you can get two solid running backs, solid wide receiver and a top-tier quarterback in the first four rounds.
- 36:42SPEAKER_01: That's a really good way to start.
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: That's your foundation, fellas.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: You're looking at 25-30 points per uh per player.
- 36:49SPEAKER_00: That's a hundred points overall you can expect every week out from those guys.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: That's a great way to look at it for sure.
- 36:56SPEAKER_00: All right, but appreciate you guys.
- 36:58SPEAKER_00: We'll see you here next week.
- 36:59SPEAKER_00: Same time, same place.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: And you scallywags better keep your does clean, or I'm coming after you, all right.
