- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili Mornings on demand on ninety seven point
- 0:04Speaker 1: one wash Them.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Let's get it started in here Toby and Chilly in
- 0:08Speaker 2: the morning. It's ninety seven point one wash CHEFM. You know,
- 0:11Speaker 2: one of the things that we like to do is
- 0:12Speaker 2: start the day was something very positive, something that's bringing
- 0:16Speaker 2: you some joy, because there's always a reason to feel
- 0:18Speaker 2: good as you get up, get out of bed, get
- 0:21Speaker 2: a brand new day started. So if you want to
- 0:23Speaker 2: share what that is for you with us, we're listening
- 0:25Speaker 2: at eight sixty six nineteen seven forty three sixty one
- 0:28Speaker 2: in the talkback microphone. Here at ninety seven point one
- 0:30Speaker 2: WASHFM is wide open two. Should you be listening this
- 0:33Speaker 2: early on your iHeart app? Signed in tap speaking Sin,
- 0:36Speaker 2: We always love hearing from you. Yes, why you feeling
- 0:40Speaker 2: muy bueno today? There, Chile.
- 0:41Speaker 3: I remembered my hand lotion. Something as simple as that
- 0:44Speaker 3: is bringing me joy. I think a lot of people
- 0:46Speaker 3: can relate to very cracked and dry knuckles. Yes, it
- 0:49Speaker 3: has been cold, it has been dry, and it's very
- 0:53Speaker 3: painful for me anyway when my knuckles get that way.
- 0:56Speaker 2: I think that that is why my primary care doctor
- 0:59Speaker 2: last week told me to moisturize. Oh yeah, you got to.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I mean, because I've not been and I've been itching.
- 1:05Speaker 2: And at first I tried to say blame, like, oh,
- 1:08Speaker 2: it's probably the antibiotic. Oh, it's probably this medicine. No,
- 1:13Speaker 2: it's called dry winter.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I mean it got so bad yesterday that I was
- 1:17Speaker 3: walking up and down the halls asking coworkers whether they
- 1:20Speaker 3: had any lotion. Oh wow, And unfortunately they were out.
- 1:23Speaker 3: So I did something I would normally never do. I
- 1:26Speaker 3: snooped into the sales pit and I saw somebody had
- 1:29Speaker 3: a big bottle of lotion and I took a few
- 1:32Speaker 3: squirts of it.
- 1:33Speaker 2: You just jacked it.
- 1:34Speaker 3: I did, good for you. I did. It was a
- 1:37Speaker 3: pretty big bottle. I don't think they're gonna notice, but
- 1:39Speaker 3: I you know, nope. And when I see them later today,
- 1:41Speaker 3: I'm gonna let them know. I'm gonna confess to my crimes,
- 1:43Speaker 3: but anything.
- 1:44Speaker 2: If they want a bottle of lotion, we'll remember when
- 1:46Speaker 2: you're out. That's right, yeah, you know. And that's I'm
- 1:49Speaker 2: feeling good speaking of doctors, because I restarted physical therapy
- 1:54Speaker 2: good and it was like I never left, you know.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It was just kind of good to be around familiar
- 1:59Speaker 2: surrounding and to get back to the hard work. Some
- 2:02Speaker 2: people would say, of physically getting stronger and working on
- 2:07Speaker 2: my knee again after you know, the third knee surgery
- 2:10Speaker 2: in six months. But just little things like that and
- 2:13Speaker 2: being welcomed back, like you know, somebody that they haven't
- 2:16Speaker 2: seen for a while, a long lost member of family
- 2:20Speaker 2: wandered his way back in. Why are you feeling good?
- 2:22Speaker 2: Hit us up, Let us know we love to hear
- 2:25Speaker 2: from you, and we know you need the news to
- 2:26Speaker 2: stay right there for top stories at the top of
- 2:28Speaker 2: the hour. Next good morning, I'm Toby not belong with chiliamr.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And you found ninety seven point one wastch FM Toby
- 2:36Speaker 2: and Chile in the morning on this Wednesday, the fourth
- 2:40Speaker 2: day of February, and.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We want to get you into a better morning mindset.
- 2:45Speaker 3: And to do that we find and share a.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Quote with you. This came from a true American icon,
- 2:50Speaker 2: Henry Ford of the Ford Motor Company. That's right. He says,
- 2:55Speaker 2: you don't have to hold a position in order to
- 2:58Speaker 2: be a leader. Henry Ford knows a little bit about leading.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You don't have to hold a position in order to
- 3:06Speaker 2: be a leader. Now, I think that when I pause
- 3:10Speaker 2: and I think about how this applies to you. I
- 3:13Speaker 2: think that I want to remind you that leadership is influenced.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's not a title. You know, there's other people that
- 3:20Speaker 2: get titles and they don't really have leadership if you
- 3:23Speaker 2: think about it. So start leading where you are. Title,
- 3:28Speaker 2: no title, You have it within you to be that leader,
- 3:31Speaker 2: no matter what your position in life might be. And
- 3:35Speaker 2: that's your morning mindset for today. Do you have some
- 3:38Speaker 2: words that have inspired you? Would love if you would
- 3:41Speaker 2: share them with us on the Toby and chilipage at
- 3:43Speaker 2: WASHFM dot com. That's where you need to go to
- 3:45Speaker 2: email Chili or myself and who knows, maybe you could
- 3:49Speaker 2: be motivating inspiring the DMV this time tomorrow morning. Now
- 3:53Speaker 2: stay with us because coming up next with Toby and
- 3:55Speaker 2: Chile in the morning.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Well, there's a local museum curator that's gone viral for
- 3:58Speaker 3: her social media posts trying to attract younger visitors.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, maybe you've heard this woman's spit mad Fire.
- 4:07Speaker 3: It's so entertaining, and we're going to play some of
- 4:09Speaker 3: what she has posted in just a few.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Minutes from the You're never too old to learn new things,
- 4:16Speaker 2: even how to speak a different generations language corner of
- 4:19Speaker 2: the Internet. It's ninety seven point one Wash FM 're
- 4:22Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. This woman who works
- 4:25Speaker 2: at the National Gallery of Art seventy seven, she's a
- 4:29Speaker 2: museum curator, Alison Looks. She's gone viral this week and
- 4:35Speaker 2: if you haven't seen it, here's why.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Well, she's using very playful slang to explain centuries old
- 4:41Speaker 3: artwork on social media. Her whole goal here is to
- 4:44Speaker 3: help younger audiences connect with classical art in a way
- 4:47Speaker 3: that feels fun, and it's actually surprisingly effective. We want
- 4:51Speaker 3: you to hear one of her posts.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Chat peep this bus and clay dish from the sixteenth century,
- 4:58Speaker 4: made in the workshop of an Italian wrizzler named Roxio Pompeii. Lenny,
- 5:03Speaker 4: Max and Sigmus would pull out niolica plates like this
- 5:06Speaker 4: at dinner parties just to flex their aura points.
- 5:10Speaker 2: All I know is Alison Lex is flexing some ara
- 5:13Speaker 2: points over there at the National Gallery of Art. And
- 5:16Speaker 2: while you might think this sounds some sort of way,
- 5:19Speaker 2: she's got millions of views, which means it's.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Not as cringe as you may think it is, which
- 5:24Speaker 3: I you know, I applaud her or whomever idea this was, yeah,
- 5:28Speaker 3: to try to attract a younger generation to the museum.
- 5:33Speaker 3: But I really don't know if Alison is the one
- 5:35Speaker 3: who's sitting around translating these things into slang, or is
- 5:40Speaker 3: chat GBT helping her, or perhaps a young volunteer.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Combination of all of the above. Oh I love it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Look how bro glazed it, she said. Finally somebody's built
- 5:52Speaker 2: a bridge to traverse the gap between gen Z and
- 5:55Speaker 2: well just about every other generation on the planet. Kudos
- 5:59Speaker 2: to the National Gallery of Art and to the great

- 6:35Speaker 2: specifically that one who's really made a difference in your life, Well,
- 6:39Speaker 2: how much do you love them enough to give them
- 6:42Speaker 2: a shot at five thousand dollars.
- 6:44Speaker 3: It's our Iheartradios Thank a Teacher, powered by donors Choose.
- 6:47Speaker 3: You can nominate a local public school teacher by going
- 6:51Speaker 3: to washfm dot com slash teachers for a chance for
- 6:54Speaker 3: them to win that five thousand dollars gift card.

- 7:50Speaker 3: host Savannah Guthrie. She went missing after officials say she
- 7:54Speaker 3: was abducted from her home. DC police are investigating after
- 7:58Speaker 3: an unidentified body was on a frozen section of the
- 8:01Speaker 3: Potomac River near the fourteenth Street Bridge. No details about
- 8:05Speaker 3: the cause of death have been released. The Maryland House
- 8:09Speaker 3: of Delegates and Senate both approved legislation to ban local

- 9:22Speaker 2: changing my daughter's room into a home studio slash workspace
- 9:27Speaker 2: when she moves out, which could be sooner rather than later.
- 9:32Speaker 6: You know.
- 9:32Speaker 2: So, I've been brainstorming different things, and I was curious
- 9:36Speaker 2: to know what you did with your kid's bedroom after
- 9:39Speaker 2: they left, or Chili in your case, what did your
- 9:41Speaker 2: parents do with your room after you moved out? Because
- 9:43Speaker 2: Donado's not going anywhere for a while. Eight six six
- 9:46Speaker 2: ninet two seven forty three sixty one is the number.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Give us a call if you want to jump in
- 9:50Speaker 2: right now. We'll talk in a few eight six six
- 9:53Speaker 2: nine two seven forty three sixty one. That's the number.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You can also tap the talk back microphone and reach
- 9:58Speaker 2: out to us and leave us your thoughts. We're Toby
- 10:01Speaker 2: and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety seven point one
- 10:03Speaker 2: watch FM. Remember you've got to be signed into your
- 10:05Speaker 2: iHeart app in order to use the talk back. Mike,
- 10:07Speaker 2: curious about your room when you were a kid, you know,
- 10:11Speaker 2: like when you moved out, What did your parents do
- 10:15Speaker 2: to that room? Did they leave it as is? Did
- 10:18Speaker 2: they move on and repurpose the space? And I bring
- 10:21Speaker 2: this up because my significant other and I were talking
- 10:23Speaker 2: over the weekend that was about what to do with
- 10:26Speaker 2: my daughter's room. You know, she's been on an extended
- 10:28Speaker 2: holiday for the last little bit seeing friends and her
- 10:31Speaker 2: significant other.
- 10:32Speaker 3: She graduated from college and she might be moving on
- 10:35Speaker 3: and moving out, and so yeah, it's natural for you
- 10:38Speaker 3: to think about options.
- 10:39Speaker 7: Yep.
- 10:39Speaker 2: And my significant other springs on me over the weekend
- 10:41Speaker 2: that she's already thought about what to do with the room.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Oh and she says, I've looked at Ikea, and I
- 10:47Speaker 2: think you need a new home studio. We'll make it
- 10:51Speaker 2: that room. You can reclaim the space in your master bedroom.
- 10:54Speaker 2: That's right, and then you'll have your own space over there.
- 10:56Speaker 2: And then i'll have a little desk where I can
- 10:58Speaker 2: work too from time to time. Okay, I love it.
- 11:01Speaker 2: And so you know, my kid hasn't even moved out yet,
- 11:04Speaker 2: and the conversations are happening, well, what'll we do with
- 11:06Speaker 2: her room?
- 11:07Speaker 3: I think it's natural, especially when you live in a
- 11:09Speaker 3: smaller space. I think, yeah, of course you don't want
- 11:12Speaker 3: your kids necessarily to leave, right, But you're like, well,
- 11:15Speaker 3: if they did, I certainly could make good use.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Of this little absolute I could. I mean, I see
- 11:21Speaker 2: how I could spread out. I could leave a guest
- 11:25Speaker 2: bed in there too. Yeah, yeah, for when she comes
- 11:28Speaker 2: to visit. But you know, hey, you surrender the space.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Why let it just sit there preserve.
- 11:34Speaker 3: I was never offended, or was not offended when my
- 11:37Speaker 3: parents turned my old bedroom into like a backup what
- 11:42Speaker 3: do you call like a family room because we lived
- 11:45Speaker 3: in a smaller house and it was just a nice
- 11:47Speaker 3: little area for them to watch televisions.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Dad moved the TV in and a couch like a
- 11:52Speaker 2: couch and a lazy boy, and he said, Okay, this
- 11:54Speaker 2: is where we're gonna Yeah, this is my chill space.
- 11:57Speaker 3: No worries, totally get it makes sense. Why not out
- 12:00Speaker 3: of a man cave, it's a fam cave. It's a
- 12:02Speaker 3: sam case.
- 12:03Speaker 2: There you go, new word alert the trademark that, by
- 12:06Speaker 2: the way, So what do you do what do you
- 12:08Speaker 2: do with your kids space when they move up and
- 12:11Speaker 2: move on out eight six six ninet two seven forty
- 12:14Speaker 2: three sixty one. Tell us what you've done, or tell
- 12:17Speaker 2: us what your parents did. We would love to hear
- 12:20Speaker 2: from you and we'll get to your thoughts coming up
- 12:22Speaker 2: with Toby and Chilly in the Morning here on ninety
- 12:24Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM's have to talk back microphone
- 12:28Speaker 2: if you want to jump into the conversation and you're
- 12:30Speaker 2: signed in listening to us on your iHeart app here
- 12:34Speaker 2: at ninety seven point one wash FM. Your voice still'll
- 12:37Speaker 2: come right to us here in the studio, or you
- 12:38Speaker 2: can call eight six six nine two seven forty three
- 12:41Speaker 2: sixty one Toby and Chilly in the Morning talking about
- 12:45Speaker 2: your room when you went off to college or out
- 12:47Speaker 2: into the real world. What did your parents your family
- 12:51Speaker 2: do with the space? They turned it into the fam
- 12:54Speaker 2: cave over at the Chili and mar household.
- 12:56Speaker 3: And you're thinking about turning your daughter's bedroom into a
- 13:00Speaker 3: home studio, which makes sense.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Right And apparently my significant other's already been working on
- 13:05Speaker 2: that project. Who knew so? Evelyn in Silver Spring, good morning,
- 13:09Speaker 2: thanks for listening to us. What did your parents do
- 13:10Speaker 2: with your room when you moved out, It is like.
- 13:13Speaker 5: A museum in there. They have done nothing. What do
- 13:15Speaker 5: you mean they've done nothing.
- 13:17Speaker 8: I can go back and see like all all my
- 13:20Speaker 8: awards from when I was little, all my favorite knickknacks.
- 13:23Speaker 5: I was like a science kid, all the science stuff.
- 13:25Speaker 5: It's pretty wild.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Evelyn Wilde is one way to put it. Thanks for
- 13:29Speaker 2: calling this morning. It sounds more to me though, like
- 13:31Speaker 2: maybe your parents are stuck in the past when you were,
- 13:34Speaker 2: you know, winning those awards and.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Stuff, or they need someplace to store that stuff, and
- 13:39Speaker 3: why not the bedroom, especially if they have other spare
- 13:41Speaker 3: rooms for guests.
- 13:43Speaker 2: That is a valid and fair point. So eight sixty
- 13:45Speaker 2: six nine two seven forty three sixty one is the number.
- 13:48Speaker 2: What did your parents do when you moved out? Good
- 13:52Speaker 2: morning at Ashburn, Chris. What'd they do?
- 13:54Speaker 7: My mom now uses the closet for storage to put
- 13:58Speaker 7: like like extra clothes. It was like like my dad's
- 14:02Speaker 7: let's said, that's a close in there, and just like
- 14:05Speaker 7: use it like putting extra blankets like on the bed.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I one hundred percent would do the same thing. If
- 14:11Speaker 3: you don't have enough closet space in your home, you
- 14:15Speaker 3: take up everybody else's once they're gone.
- 14:17Speaker 2: You know, I did that to Kyla's room when she
- 14:19Speaker 2: went off to college, and then when she came home,
- 14:21Speaker 2: I forgot to move the stuff out and she's like, what,
- 14:23Speaker 2: you turned my room into a storage room already, and
- 14:26Speaker 2: I'm like, well, we have junk. Thanks for the call
- 14:28Speaker 2: this morning, Chris, and if you've got thoughts, jump into
- 14:31Speaker 2: the conversation talk back microphone wide open tap speaks. Send
- 14:35Speaker 2: hit us with a quick voice note and tell us
- 14:37Speaker 2: what your parents did with your room when you moved out,
- 14:40Speaker 2: or what you planned to do to your kids room
- 14:42Speaker 2: when they move out. We always love to hear what

- 19:40Speaker 2: sixty one is the number.
- 19:42Speaker 3: If you hate that static shock that you get this
- 19:44Speaker 3: time of year. I found a hack.

- 20:22Speaker 3: I just learned this week on how to prevent that
- 20:25Speaker 3: annoying static shock this time of year, whenever you touch
- 20:30Speaker 3: like a metal surface, you get.
- 20:31Speaker 2: That zap the worst.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It is absolute worse. Well, I read online that if
- 20:37Speaker 3: you attach a safety pin inside your clothing, like on
- 20:41Speaker 3: the inside seam of a skirt, your dress, or your pants,
- 20:45Speaker 3: the idea is that the metal helps discharge build up
- 20:47Speaker 3: static electricity so it doesn't cling or zap you when
- 20:51Speaker 3: you touch like a doorknob.
- 20:52Speaker 2: See look at the little things you learn when you
- 20:54Speaker 2: hang out on TikTok and and Instagram and you surf
- 20:57Speaker 2: the web all day.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I mean sure data guard does the same thing, but
- 21:01Speaker 3: I don't always have that handy.
- 21:03Speaker 2: That's a very helpful hack. Do you know what hack
- 21:05Speaker 2: I've learned lately? What's that put towels down in front
- 21:10Speaker 2: of the bathtub, even if you have a bath mat.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Do you know why? Because you just never know, and
- 21:17Speaker 2: because you just never know, and because well, I'm prone
- 21:19Speaker 2: to spilling water or splashing sometimes. Hey, I'd rather have
- 21:23Speaker 2: the floor dry and a towel wet. Just a simple
- 21:25Speaker 2: little hack, throw down something else to help you out?
- 21:28Speaker 2: Why not got a hack? Tell us what is it?
- 21:31Speaker 2: Eight sixty six ninety seven forty three sixty one? How
- 21:34Speaker 2: will it improve our lives? Let's start over here with
- 21:37Speaker 2: you Shenis and Waldorf.
- 21:39Speaker 8: Go ahead, okay, ladies out here, for you're a man's gara.
- 21:42Speaker 8: If you run it under want to hot water for
- 21:45Speaker 8: one to two minutes. It applies really really well. Please
- 21:48Speaker 8: try that hack.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Denise, thank you for the hack. Chili is infatuated with
- 21:52Speaker 2: it now. I mean my jaws on the floor.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I guess I didn't know that you could do that,
- 21:56Speaker 3: because when my mascarra gets too thick or dried, up
- 22:00Speaker 3: just tossing it and now I can just do the
- 22:02Speaker 3: warm water trick and it'll glide right on.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Very very helpful for those who wear mascara. I too
- 22:08Speaker 2: will try it to see how this all works out.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Acts share them with the class at eight sixty six
- 22:13Speaker 2: ninet two seven forty three sixty one, where Toby and
- 22:16Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. We'll hear from you coming up.
