It's stupid. What are you up? Welcome everybody, Welcome to this week's
0:19
edition. This is the Real of the Show. Episomber seven hundred and two
0:22
for July twenty seven. Two Doubts four gree did your NXC Great American Bash
0:28
Preview and Predictions edition of ass t you? I am one aff the show.
0:34
I am Jeff back joined every single week in my coast, I only
0:38
got you Cray Franklin, Doctor Trey. While it may be NXT, it's
0:41
still really cool to say Great American Brash preview predictions my friend. Oh no,
0:46
absolutely, And being somebody of my age growing up on you know,
0:51
the n w A and WCW and the Great American Bash and you know that's
0:55
where war Games came in and all those things like this to me is like,
1:00
oh whatever, the Great American Bash roll around. To me, that
1:03
was like, okay, it's summer and if you haven't been outside, it's
1:07
summer. Oh yeah, why do you think of all the WCW names for
1:12
pay per views, like the only ones that have made it has been Great
1:17
American Bash. They've done that time and time again. They've done Clash of
1:21
Champions a couple of times. They did a starcade I think once or twice.
1:26
Think one time it may have been televised on ww network when they used
1:29
to do like exclusive live events, and then the other time it wasn't.
1:32
Why do you think Great American Bash is the one that stood out? Because
1:34
I always felt like, if you're going to do any type of w CW
1:40
esque pay per view, I would have figured starcade. Yeah, but I
1:44
think the problem with Starcade is the fact that that was the answer to WrestleMania,
1:49
you know, back in the day that was you know, WCW,
1:53
Ted Turner. That's kind of what I think. That's kind of why they
1:55
left alone where you know, the Great American Bash, Clash of Champions,
1:59
Halloween Havoc, those were kind of yeah, I will say ancillary shows,
2:04
but they weren't on the level what Stark was supposed to be. So um,
2:08
you know, I'm still waiting for like an NWBO sold out show to
2:12
come back, you know, Uh, try to think it's the other one
2:15
where something I can't remember something the Beach Slamboree, well, bashing the Beach
2:20
got taken by aw no, no, no, it's back Cody had Cody
2:24
Haddy owns it. Cody owns it, and then I think to trade off
2:30
the Cody Road's name coming back. They got Bashed the Beach back. Remember
2:37
w W E let like a bunch of trademarks go. Cody like took them
2:40
all. I think maybe him and Conrad did, and I know they aw
2:46
did Bashed the Beach and then I'm pretty sure that the way that Cody got
2:50
the Road's last name back was by giving a lot of the w trademark pay
2:54
per view names that he took and given them back to w W. A.
2:59
All right, well that's seems like a fair trade, especially now that
3:00
Cody's in WWE, so he basically gets to be a part of the stuff
3:04
that he gave away. Anyway, But you know, I mean, and
3:07
honestly, some of those names, like a slam Marie like that just sounds
3:10
dated anyway. But you know, Great American Bash sounds fun, Halloween Havoc
3:15
sounds fun. You know, Clash of the Champions sounds fun, Starkade sounds
3:20
cool. But once again, I just think it's one of those we don't
3:22
want to bring something back that was seen as the rival to wrestle media.
3:25
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I guess it's always it's always cool to say,
3:29
like Great American Bash. The old schooled fans and us certainly love it.
3:34
But um yeah, Well, we'll preview and predict the Great American Bash
3:37
towards the end of this week's edition of SRTU, so stay tuned for that.
3:42
First thing I want to start with, Doctor Trade talked about war Games
3:45
and a sibling. A copycat of War Games is Blood and Guts from AW,
3:51
which aired this past Wednesday. The Blood and Guts match basically was the
3:55
entire second half of AW Dynamite this past Wednesday or depend when you listen to
4:00
this, I guess two wednesdays ago. I thought the match for ninety percent
4:05
of the time was great. I really enjoyed the match. I thought it
4:09
was a lot of fun, job well done by everybody. These you know,
4:12
these guys when they put their bodies on them like that, like ton
4:15
of respect for that. But there was one major thing that I have a
4:18
buggaboo over, Doctor Try and I have a buggaboo over this for a lot
4:23
of things that AW does when it comes to their production. So the match
4:28
ends with I believe either one of the Jackson's and Hangman page had the chain
4:33
around Wheeler ut his neck and they're choking him out and the match gets called
4:39
like, okay, did Wheeler pass out? Did the ref make the decision?
4:42
Did he tap out? You know? The Golden Lead is celebrating the
4:45
victory in about two minutes after the match was called Tony Shiavanni Tazz Excalibur.
4:53
They're all on commentary making a point that the way that the match ended was
4:58
that John Moxley surrendered. So John Moxley is in between both rings, he
5:03
is handcuffed to one of the turnbuckles. He can't move, he's bloody,
5:08
he's beaten up, and he's watching Wheeler Utah get choked out and he surrenders
5:14
to save Wheeler Utah. Okay, the problem here is that aw never showed
5:21
that happening. The commentators didn't know it, the production team didn't know it,
5:27
and we miss a excuse the pun golden opportunity for the most impactful part
5:34
of the match to air on television. I'm thinking, before we get your
5:40
thoughts on this, another thing, I'm thinking, well, they probably got
5:43
footage that they could replay. No replay on Dynamite, no replay on Rampage,
5:47
no replay on collision. They never got footage of John Moxley surrendering to
5:55
cost his team the match and to give up and give the VIC to the
6:00
Golden League. I loved this match for ninety five percent of the time,
6:03
but you cannot miss that moment. From a production standpoint, What the hell
6:10
gives you a doctor? Trey so um Aw's been on the air now for
6:15
what three years now, three almost four years. Yeah, they emulate a
6:21
lot of WCW, but they also be laid a lout of W and Wwe
6:27
would not miss that shot. I mean they may miss it live, but
6:30
some cameraman is hitting his mark. For them to have such a big match
6:38
that's been hyped up for you know, weeks in I mean borderline months to
6:43
build to this with you know, Coda Abushi, you know, making his
6:48
debut and Pock returning to the company after being away for months, and to
6:55
have this match be as good as it was, it was really in entertaining
6:58
match, Like you said, those guys like I mean literally like they spilled
7:01
blood for the entertain these fans. To miss that shot is just catastrophic because
7:11
like that's the whole point of the match is to get to that finish.
7:16
You know, That's one thing that I've learned in wrestling over years, over
7:19
that my years in it is that people remember entrances, and they remember finishes,
7:25
and they remember emotion. That's it. The moves in the middle don't
7:29
even matter for the most part. Like I've said before, Sean Michael's Brett
7:33
Hart. You know, wrestle banias one my Ironman match, one of my
7:36
favorite matches all time. I remember the entrances, I remember the finish.
7:40
I couldn't tell you really what happened in the middle. Just remember how I
7:43
felt the same thing here. Moxley surrendering is a big moment. And how
7:49
do you have multiple cameraman around the ring with headphones on, with producers in
7:56
the back, and nobody says, hey, somebody hit a camera on Moxe.
8:01
That's just like Bush League that that's what happens at independent shows and to
8:05
have it happen on a naturally televised, well funded show is just terrible.
8:11
It's just misses the point completely. I mean, that's that's what TNA did
8:16
back in the Hogan Bishop area. I mean, that's where we're at right
8:18
now. That's what WCW did the last year they were in business. Is
8:22
missed the important shots, especially when you have a build to this match and
8:26
the match itself was really great and then you just blow the finish completely.
8:31
I mean, I don't know it's worse than this, this this one or
8:35
Moxley Omega exploding ring batch when it comes to finishes. For AW, that
8:41
was pretty bad. This is more from a production standpoint, I feel like
8:43
and this I feel like this happens often. I'm a fan of AW.
8:48
I really enjoy the program, especially lately. Creative has been on high.
8:50
We've talked about this last couple of weeks are on the podcast, and like
8:54
I said, if anybody's like, oh man, they're just bashing AW,
8:56
hear me out on that match. I love the final five percent, Like
9:01
is this portion and it was just a completely missed opportunity by AW. I
9:05
felt like the production team let there was some sort of communication breakdown. Somebody
9:09
let somebody down so that the viewers at home could not see that moment and
9:16
then nothing is captured on replay. That was like, okay, well,
9:20
you know, say face here we missed it on a live show, but
9:22
here it is in replay on Rampage later that you know, the replaced stuff
9:26
with Dynamite, and then on Collision that you could play on forever. I
9:30
mean, John Moxley, the way that he has been built up in AW
9:33
is one of the toughest sons of bitches you'll ever meet. In real life.
9:37
He is one of the toughest s obs you'll ever meet. And for
9:39
him to surrender because he couldn't take Wheeler you to you know, being he
9:45
wasn't going to tap out, he was going to be choked out is like
9:48
a very talent emotional moment in the match. And not only that, who
9:50
knows if that was supposed to play into anything now coming out of this feud
9:54
with the Golden Elite that was going to take a take aim on AW television
10:00
each week, and as doctors trying to record this AW Dynamite to Erring right
10:03
now, it's very well possible that maybe that carries itself over on Dynamite tonight
10:07
as we record the pod. Nonetheless, this happens very often on AW programming
10:15
where there's a moment in a match that you miss because they are, you
10:22
know, watching somebody do another flip over the top rope or something like,
10:26
I just feel like whenever there's a match going on, they're missing something and
10:31
it has caused problems. And I don't understand the production element side of professional
10:37
wrestling as a wrestling fan. I sit down, I'm the viewer. I
10:41
watch. I need to see the most necessary points play out on my television
10:45
because that's how I get the emotional investment in the product. I know the
10:48
physicality and athleticism that I'm seeing in the ring is fantastic, that's great,
10:52
but I need to see the moment, especially the most crucial moment of the
10:56
match, as to why the match ended. So I was reading some sort
11:01
of article this week, and come to find out, I think it was
11:05
I was reading the article about Orange Cassidy, or maybe it was the Cody
11:07
Road stuff, because so Cody was talking about like the last thing he did
11:11
for AW as producing match that Ruby Soho was in, and I think maybe
11:13
Orange Cassidy, who is now working doing some producing stuff behind the scenes for
11:18
AW. There was some talk about this as well. So the producer is
11:22
the one responsible that they talked to the wrestlers. They map out the match,
11:26
they lay out the most important points, and then they go back to
11:30
production and they say, hey, these are gonna be the most important points.
11:33
This is how it's going to carry itself over, and that is where
11:37
the production team is then supposed to, you know, make sure that they're
11:39
watching. You know, Matt Jackson dumped the thumb tacks from the top of
11:43
the cage onto you know, the second ring in the Blood and Guts match.
11:48
I don't know what have you. So somewhere there was a communication breakdown,
11:52
whether it was the producers involved in the match or the production team itself,
11:56
somebody missed a very crucial spot and it just blew my mind. At
12:01
the end of Dynamite, I mean, I was like, man, this
12:05
is a great match, cool finished, cool ending. Chivanni, ex Caliber,
12:09
Tazz are all chiming in that the reason why the Golden Elite one was
12:13
because John Moxley surrendered. I'm looking for a replay. It doesn't happen a
12:18
downe of my clothes out you miss it? Nothing on YouTube again, nothing
12:22
on rampage and Collissen and I just pulled my hair out, like how do
12:26
you miss this as a major wrestling promotion in the United States? So I
12:31
don't know, Doctor Trey. It just left a very bad taste in my
12:35
mouth, and it's something that AW needs to clean up because, as you
12:37
stated, you know, this is a four year old company. They've been
12:41
on television now in the United States for forty years this October. They got
12:46
to clean this shit up because by not doing it, I mean, what
12:50
an ample opportunity that was missed. And I'm disappointed as a wrestling fan because
12:54
I wanted to see that visual like why did Moxley do it? What did
12:58
you know? What was the emotion on his what led to him doing that?
13:01
The fact that AW production whoever missed this, it just really left a
13:07
bad taste in my mouth for a really fun match last Wednesday on Dynamite.
13:11
Yeah, the really frustrating part of it is that that sequence was not quick
13:18
like it was a drawn out process, like you know, they got the
13:22
chain around around you to they're choking him out. This wasn't like the chain
13:26
went around his neck and then all of a sudden Moxley surrendered. There was
13:31
time in there, and somebody in production like dropped the ball, because that
13:35
should be the queue to put a camera on Moxley, Like, you know,
13:39
I understand the announcers not knowing what happened because I know from my experience
13:46
doing commentary over the years that typically we don't know the finish. They just
13:50
want a real life reaction from the announced team. So I get it why
13:56
they you know, to try. You know, they had to cover it
13:58
up at the end, but I mean, to have multiple cameras around the
14:03
ring and nobody say, oh, guys, here's the finish, somebody get
14:07
a camera on Moxley like it is just like it's it's bush league. I
14:15
mean, I don't know how else to put it, because you know,
14:18
it's like this is a big thing because I don't know about you. Moxley.
14:22
Surrendering to me is a baby face move, Like baby faces are the
14:28
ones that surrender your edge surrenders, yell that I quit to save his wife.
14:33
It's a baby face thing to do when you surrender to save your partner.
14:37
So this is something that there's a storyline that should be coming out of
14:43
this, and to miss that shot almost blows that angle completely, Like,
14:48
yeah, are we going to see on Dynamite you to come out and be
14:50
mad at Moxley for surrendering? You know, is Brian Daniels is gonna be
14:54
mad? Is somebody is Claudia is is somebody gonna be mad at mocks?
14:58
You know, does that kick make Mocks get kicked out out of you know,
15:01
Blackpool Combat or whatever. Like, there's a lot of storylines you can
15:03
play office, and to miss that shot is just reg I could understand it.
15:09
Like we've seen fishing before, where also the camera missed a superkike or
15:13
missed something suddenly missed an arc you know, just barely cut an r KO.
15:18
But to have something that played out roughly for about thirty seconds, to
15:24
miss that is just that stuff that you see in like the lower level independent
15:28
leagues. So there's also two elements the report they came out on Wednesday night.
15:33
Two two major parts that were missed by the Blood and Guts match,
15:37
And it was just from a timing standpoint, So there's supposed to be a
15:39
big spot with Hangman page that was cut, and then at the end of
15:43
the match there's supposed to be like five minutes left over, I think,
15:46
and they wanted to close out Dynamite with the Blackpool Combat Club and the Golden
15:50
Lead shaking hands. That moment ended up taking place, but off air again,
15:56
Doctor Treynor are recording this while Dynamite is literally on the air right now,
16:00
so I have no clue if they ended up airing that. I did
16:02
not see anything again on social media or YouTube that I could recall. So
16:06
again, so timing issues now with a match, major moment with Hangman Page
16:11
that was supposed to take place, cut, the handshake to end the feud
16:15
was cut, and then of course John Moxley surrendering. It's just not it's
16:22
just these these things about AW still Doctor Trey that are a little bit wet
16:26
behind the ears still, and these things need to be worked out the more
16:30
that they grow. And I think it's to the point where you know,
16:33
there's frustration here in the voice of Doctor Trey and I where maybe it's gone
16:37
on too much. I mean, you're a four year old company, you
16:41
know, back in May, four years on US television this October, Like,
16:45
you got to clean this shit up if you want to really go toe
16:48
to toe with w right now, because you're missing times. So some more
16:53
stuff coming out of blood and guts the match itself again ninety five percent of
16:57
the match. I really enjoyed, very fun episode of AW Dynamite, but
17:02
those final five minutes the Moxley surrendered. It's like, are you kidding me?
17:04
I did not want to have one problem in the match, but I
17:07
did and had nothing to do with the actual athleticism. And then way that
17:11
the match went on, it was everything to do with production and how the
17:15
hell did that happened? Because it shouldn't happen. So aw, blood and
17:18
guts nonetheless, fun match. Moxley surrendering, How the hell did we miss
17:22
that? Switching gears to W right now, Doctor Trey. One of my
17:27
favorite things on television right now is the Judgment Day Finn Balor, Damian Priests,
17:33
Rea Ripley, Dirty Dome Masterio. They are at a all time high
17:37
as a stable. They are confident. It is playing out on television that
17:41
they are confident. They are over with the fan base. Whether you're getting
17:45
cheered or booed, they are riding a high right now. And just like
17:51
every time a stable is riding high, it certainly feels like that W creative
17:55
maybe coming for them to do a cut and now let's to get ahead of
18:00
this. Is it time to break it up? I feel like we had
18:03
this discussion recently, so let's have it again because we're heading into SummerSlam.
18:07
We preview predicted on next week's show, Finn looks poised to go over for
18:12
the world title at SummerSlam, or Damien Priests may cash in. Right.
18:18
Could we live in a world where Finn defeats Seth Rollins Avenges at SummerSlam loss
18:23
from the very first Universal Championship match, only for Damian Priest to come out
18:29
cash in on him and he becomes champion and Finn holds a title for a
18:33
very small amount of time, as was alluded to by Seth Roninds during his
18:37
promo recently. A couple of weeks ago, almost a month ago, we
18:40
saw Finn Balor talking to j D mcdonah when there was cracks in the Judgment
18:44
day between he and Damien Priest. We have not seen j D mcdonneh since.
18:48
JD mcdonneh has been someone who has had Finn Balor's a mentor. So
18:53
is JD mcdonnah hurt or is he looming? Ria Ripley's blowing up, She's
18:59
getting baby reactions. Domisterio is coming into his own and he's breaking out.
19:03
Even though he's getting very heel reactions. You could tell the fans are loving
19:07
him. We were wrong about breaking up the Shield when WWW we decided to
19:11
we love the Judgment Day. The riding high right now is now heading into
19:18
SummerSlam in the next week or two or the next month. Is now the
19:22
time to break up the Judgment Day? No, I think you need to
19:27
kind of ride a hot streak. We saw with the Bloodline. It took
19:30
him three years to kind of break up the Bloodline. I think the difference
19:36
between the Judgment Day and the Shield was I think WW looked at every single
19:41
member of the Shield as at least a main event or upper mid card,
19:47
borderline main event guy. I know. The crazy thing is, as we
19:49
say here now, like Seth was the guy that you know, it seemed
19:52
like w W had had questions about could he be a main event guy?
19:56
But I just think we look at on paper, does Triple H and to
20:03
a degree Events believe that all three, all four members are made of vent
20:10
people like I Obviously Rhea is a main event player, but do you see
20:15
Finn, do you see Damian Priest? And do you see Dom being made
20:19
of vent guys? You might move one out and bring somebody else in,
20:26
but the whole purpose of a stale is to help baby faces get over and
20:32
establish top level guys coming out of it, and I just don't know.
20:37
If I don't know about you, I just as much as I love Finn
20:41
Valor, just because of how badly he had been booked for so long,
20:44
I still don't see him as the top guy on a brand. And Damian
20:51
Priests, I think is getting close, but I don't think he's there yet.
20:55
And it may take them moving Damian Priests out or moving Finn out for
21:00
somebody to ascend up. But on paper, right now, I just I
21:04
look at three guys and I'm like, I just don't think one of those
21:07
guys is ready to kind of break out on his own and assume the top
21:12
spot on Raw. All right, great points there, So if we're not
21:15
breaking them up now, what is the compelling storyline right now? Because this,
21:22
to me, judgment day stuff has like this is beginning of year one
21:27
of Bloodline right The way that the Bloodline has taken over professional wrestling with their
21:33
storyline has been some of the best step stuff that we've seen in a very
21:37
very, very long time. And I feel like w we could have the
21:41
same luck when it comes to the Judgment Day. So what do you do
21:45
with them now, right like coming out of SummerSlam, we'll pre even predicted
21:49
on next week's show. You know, I'm right now leaning towards that maybe
21:55
Finn walks out as world champion. Maybe you're thinking he doesn't. You've got
21:57
Damian priests looming with the briefcase. Does he cash in? Maybe Seth rollins
22:03
retains as he cash in and become world champion, and then that's the storyline
22:07
between he and Finn. I feel like we're still directionally pointing towards tension in
22:12
the judgment day, and I don't know how right now we get out of
22:18
that potential tension, because three weeks ago they tease tension. It's been great
22:22
since like three to four weeks, they've been back on the same page.
22:26
Close of raw contract signing, Finn is down, Damien comes in, takes
22:32
out Seth with the briefcase, stares at the briefcase. Finn gets up,
22:36
stares at Damian staring at the briefcase, and we get to tease before Sammy
22:38
Zane's music hits. So they keep going back to that, even though it's
22:45
like that rubber band. It's like they go to it, then they come
22:48
back away from it. They go to it, they gope back to it.
22:49
So if we're not breaking them up, now, what is the storyline
22:53
with him? What do you think the direction is coming out of SummerSlam that
22:59
we see with the Judgment Day Because it certainly feels like, you know,
23:03
they could be that compelling bloodline ask for Raw that brings people in and keeps
23:08
them interested and entertain each and every week and they can run rough shot on
23:12
Raw for the next year like they have. You know, they've been very,
23:17
very good, and this is a pretty crucial time for creative to come
23:19
up with something really compelling for this group that seems to be over. Whether
23:23
you'd like to cheer them or boo them, Yeah, for me, it's
23:29
it's a little bit of what we've been seeing with you know, them battling
23:32
with Sammy and Kevin and then whichever Kylie we saw with Imperium, with Sammy
23:36
and Kevin and Matt Riddle against Imperium. Where you take your tag team champions,
23:41
you line them up against Judgment Day, you mix in another baby face.
23:45
But to me, I think they're gonna end up putting the tag belts
23:48
on Finn and Damien here before long, and then with the briefcase in the
23:53
middle, just keep teasing that tension back and forth until they decided to pull
23:57
the trigger. I still think it's too early to take the belt off Seth.
24:02
He's only had it for two months. Like you still have to establish
24:07
some credibility behind that tip, because like right now, if you watch Draw
24:11
to me, the Intercontinental title is more valuable than Seth's title just because Gunther's
24:17
had it for so long and when somebody finally beats him is going to be
24:18
a huge thing. Sets only had that belt for sixty days, so I
24:23
think you need to keep the belt on set to kind of help build up
24:26
that prestige some more. So maybe you move the tag belts over to Finn
24:30
and Damien. They keep bickering over money the brain briefcase, Sammy and Kevin
24:34
Handy with them have a good feud. I like him putting the putting a
24:40
title on Dom just because it gives Dom a little more credibility, even though
24:45
you know he's a heel and you want to buy chicanery. But you know,
24:48
if you can get the tag belts on Finn and Damien, while Dom
24:52
has the NXT North American title and Maria has the Raw or the Women's Championship
24:56
and Raw that you get all four titles on one group. That's pretty impressive,
25:00
and I think that's a good way to kind of run that angle until
25:03
you decide to split somebody up. The other angle would be you brought up
25:07
JD. Mcdonnaugh is to have Finn win the belt, Damien go to cash
25:12
in, and Begunna run in to stop Damian from cashing in, and then
25:18
basically kicking Damien out out of the Judgment Day for trying to use surf Finn
25:23
balor instead. So there's a couple of different ways to play with it if
25:26
you if you really wanted to, Yeah, I don't know. It's it's
25:29
really confusing right now. I feel like the best thing that they could do
25:33
is put the title on Finn and keep writing this Judgment Day wave. And
25:37
I know you'd like to think that Seth Rollins shouldn't have a short reign as
25:41
champion because he just won the title in May, But there's some things that
25:45
I'm seeing in interviews and new sites what have you right where leading into and
25:52
becoming World of the Weight Champion. Seth was starting to do some movie roles.
25:56
Granted, I think movies are basically shut down with with the strikes going
26:00
on. But he was involved with some movie rules and then I saw something
26:04
recently that he needs some sort of surgery, like it's on his back that
26:08
he's been wrestling with a bad back basically for three years, and he needs
26:15
to take some time off eventually to get surgery to clean this up whatever,
26:19
And it's like, man, is this Could this be what they're doing right
26:23
now? Could they theoretically, you know, did they have Seth win the
26:29
championship first too, to make it a big deal and set up this entire
26:33
storyline that makes a ton of sense creatively with Finn Balor at SummerSlam. Revisiting
26:37
their match at SummerSlam twenty sixteen seventeen in the first Universal Championship match where Finn
26:44
got hurt and Finn avenges it and then Seth goes away, like that could
26:48
be the storyline to their Doctor Trey. I mean, as I talk it
26:52
out loud, maybe Finn ends up injuring Seth in the match and Seth goes
26:56
away for a couple of months, Like I could see Seth going away again
27:00
for a little bit of time. Maybe he returns Survivor series. Maybe they
27:03
hold him off until the rumble heading into Rustlemania forty season. There's a lot
27:07
of different things here, but I think a loss at SummerSlam for Finn equals
27:14
a Judgment Day like breakup, or a Damien priests cash in at SummerSlam leads
27:21
to a Judgment day breakup. I think you have Finn win the title,
27:26
and then the compelling storyline for the next three, four or five months is
27:30
Damien wants to cash in the money in bank. Briefcase, would he do
27:34
it on Finn the entire time and then eventually he does turn it on Finn
27:40
and maybe that's your Rustlemania forty match. No, that's a really good point
27:44
too, because, like as you were talking, I was like, well,
27:45
if Seth needs to have surgery and take some time off, you know,
27:49
his wife has a big match with Trish, which is to blow off
27:52
to their feud, I wouldn't be surprised to see that match in and both
27:56
ladies go away for a while and then that way Seth and Becky me off
28:00
with their daughter and convalesce together. Um, you know, the Finn with
28:04
the title and Damien constantly kind of teasing the cash in is a great storyline
28:11
as well, Like that would be really fun to watch, especially if they
28:14
end up do bringing in you know what, JD mcdunn or something that you
28:18
know that way Finn feels like not because right now, if you watch Judgment
28:23
Day, it kind of feels like Damian, Dom and Rhea are their own
28:27
little click and Finn's kind of to the side. If Finn brings in McDonough
28:33
to be back up to be his support within that, then I can see
28:37
that playing out and then you split it evenly and Dom and uh, Damien
28:41
go off together, Finn and JD go together, and then you have a
28:45
few that way. So uh, but the idea of Damien cashing in on
28:49
his own, on his own brethren would be really good TV. So if
28:53
they do, if they go that route, that'd be fantastic as well.
28:56
Yeah, it's um, it's good stuff right now right Like I would also
29:00
say, in a perfect world, if you're looking for a cool storyline coming
29:03
out of all of this, keeping the Judgment Day together, figuring out whatever
29:07
you do with the bloodline, I would love to see some sort of intersecting
29:11
with the bloodline of Solisico Roman reigns and some of the members of the Judgment
29:17
Day. Like, I think that would be pretty compelling television as well.
29:19
But you also have some other stables. They may be being built presently.
29:22
You've seen Bobby Lashley talking with Carmelo, Hayson, Trick Williams, he was
29:27
talking with the Street Profits on SmackDown the last couple of weeks. Maybe there's
29:32
something there so good times. Stables in professional wrestling, Doctor Trey I think
29:40
are so successful. They were successful in the Attitude era. They were successful
29:44
in WW in the late nineties as well. During that run, they went
29:48
away for about twenty years. They're back now in w W, and they're
29:52
bringing Capelli Television to w right now. And I guess you could say the
29:56
same for AW presently as well, coming out of the Blackpool, Combat Loud,
30:00
Golden Elite stuff. That stables are a really good way to make fans
30:06
care and give you compelling storylines. Because the Judgment Day, I mean,
30:11
I think they've superseded in a way the popularity of the bloodline that was going
30:17
on, because the Bloodline is basically no more at this point, and the
30:21
stuff that you're seeing with the Judgment Day on RAW and NXT and when they
30:23
do show up to smack down from time and time again, has made sure
30:27
some really entertaining TV on w right now, and it's so organic and it's
30:32
enjoyable, which I always like to see as a as a wrestling fan,
30:37
never understood when stables kind of went away, because you know, to me,
30:41
wrestling is supposed to be somewhat of a mirror to a degree of real
30:45
life. And you know, most people have a friend or have two friends,
30:49
and we didn't have stables. It was like, you know, a
30:52
good guys getting beat up by three bad guys and no good guy comes out
30:56
to help. Is like, well, is he actually a good guy behind
31:00
the scenes because nobody's coming and save him and he's getting his ass kicked.
31:03
So, you know, nowadays it kind of feels like everybody has somebody to
31:08
watch their back, which I think is a much more reflection of life.
31:14
And then like you know, wrestling mirroring life, so um, you know,
31:18
can you have too many stables? Yeah? Maybe aw has too many
31:22
stables, but you know in WW when you only have like a couple of
31:26
stables and a couple of tag teams, it gives you storylines also to playoff
31:32
of and build people with that. So you know, we saw it with
31:34
you know, Biggie winning the world title when he kind of broke out from
31:37
the New Day. You know, we've seen it with you know Jet,
31:41
We're going back to the Shield. We've seen it with the Ya family.
31:44
We've seen it with other stables or the last you know, eight years.
31:48
It's just a good formula for success if done properly. All right, let's
31:52
get to u NXT Great American Bash preview and predictions. It comes this Sunday
31:56
on Peacock from the H e B Center and Cedar Park, Texas, says
32:00
doctor Trey. Your Southern is it h e B? What is that?
32:04
HEB is a grocery chain? Okay, so I think it's a h B.
32:08
But he's always called Hebe. I didn't know. I didn't. I
32:10
never shopped in there. I just saw it a lot when I was traveling
32:14
through Texas. But yes, it is a kind of like Giant Foods and
32:20
oh stop the shop. Yes, hib is a regional chain. Okay,
32:24
there you go, and the more you know. Here on this week's edition
32:27
of sr TU, let's get to the first match here. It's the pre
32:30
show match eight person mixed tag team match Dragon Lee, Nathan Fraser, Luisa
32:35
Leon and Valentine of Freroy's take on the metaphor of No Man, No m
32:37
Dar, Oral Mensa, Jacar Jackson and lash lens It Legend Doctor Trey.
32:43
I'm going to take the metaphor in this one, yes, because I love
32:45
the name because of that's just that's fantastic. It was a great name.
32:49
So eever came up with that, kudos them. I am taking metaphor because,
32:52
like you said, we like stables, so uh just beaters. Who
32:58
takes the pinfall on the other team? Because you have Dragon Lee and then
33:00
you also have the Heritage Cup champion of Dathan Frasier, I'm assuming probably one
33:05
of the ladies will take the pinfall on next match. Here's the triple threat
33:08
match for the NXT and North American Championship. Dirty Dom Mysterio Defense against Wesley
33:14
and Mustafa Ali Doctor Troy. Who do you like in this one? It
33:17
might be the hardest match on the show for me to predict because I really
33:22
want Dom to keep the belt. But then do we see the North American
33:25
Title on you know, Raw and NXT every single week? Does that actually
33:31
give an XT a boost. I think I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Dom.
33:37
I'm gonna take Dom to somehow steal the way and keep the belt for
33:40
another month or two at least. I agree you. This is a very
33:44
tough match to call, and there were periods of time triple threat match titles
33:47
on the line. I'm like, man, you know, maybe Mustafa Ali
33:52
gets the pin on Wesley and they protect Dom. Dom goes away for a
33:55
little bit. But viewership is up in NXT right now. A lot of
33:59
how to do with the Judgment Day. I think they want to keep the
34:01
Judgment Day on NXE television for a period of time, So I'm gonna have
34:05
Dirty Domasteria retain as well. Next match, here is Tiffany Stratton defending against
34:10
Theia Hale, and I say, a mission match for the Nexy Women's Championship.
34:14
I've really enjoyed this bill. That's been very basic and simple and it's
34:16
been fun to watch. Tiffany Stratton retains in my opinion. She says she's
34:22
going to debut a new submission move. She keeps tapping out to Thia Hale
34:24
with that. I think she defeats the Hail. On Sunday, Yeah,
34:29
I'm with you. I think as much as I love Fia Hale, I
34:31
love her and she kind of reminds me of you know, A Live Morgan
34:35
was an NXC which he first came up. I think thea Hale could be
34:40
a bigger star here in a couple of years. But right now, Tiffany
34:45
Stratton is your new Mandy Rose and they're going to run that for a while,
34:47
so I'm thinking Stratton ever retain as well. Next matches for the NEXC
34:51
Tag Team Championship is Gallus of Mark Coffee and Wolfgang defend against the Family of
34:55
Tony D'Angelo and Channing Stacks, Lorenzo, Doctor Trey. Who do you like?
35:00
This is one of the ones where, like on paper, I take
35:02
Dallas, But with all the stuff they've been doing with D'Angelo and Stacks over
35:07
the last few months, with D'Angelo going to jail and then Stacks turn them
35:12
in, with all of that stuff, they have to have a payoff for
35:15
the baby faces, So I am going to take D'Angelo and Stacks the family
35:19
to win the NXECY Tag Team titles. Yeah, they've been doing that storyline
35:22
for the entire time of Tony d being arrested getting out of jail, the
35:27
chase for them to become the NAXE Tag Team Champions. If they were to
35:30
lose this match, it would be strange unless there was some sort of turn,
35:35
and I don't see that happening right now based off of the way that
35:37
the entire storyline played out. With that said, I'm going to go with
35:40
the family Tony Day and Channing Saxe Lorenzo to win the NXC Tag Team Championship.
35:45
Next match is Gabel Steveson making his in ring debut against Baron Corbin.
35:51
Gabel Steeveson not going back to college, not going to the Olympics next year,
35:55
he is going to be wrestling in NXT. Have to think that this
36:00
is the beginning of a potentially big career for someone who is an Olympian,
36:07
Golden Medalist, Olympian. We know how that works out in WI with Curt
36:12
Angle. So I am not going to pick against Gabel Stevenson in his debut
36:15
match. I have him defeating Baron Corbyn. Do we feel bad for Baron
36:21
Corbyn right now? Like That's where I'm at right now, Like I'm picking
36:24
Gable Stevenson who win as well, but I'm just like, I'm looking at
36:27
going damn Baron Corban up until you know, three weeks ago when jay Uso
36:32
pin Roman Rains was the last guy to pan Roman Reins three years ago,
36:37
and he has come all the way down to where he's basically probably gonna be
36:40
a squash match for a new debuting superstar. So on one hand, I
36:45
feel bad for Baron Corbyn. On the other hand, I know he's well
36:47
paid and you know, pretty happy with his job and his career. So
36:52
but that Bean said, I'm taking Gable Stevenson, and then I'm wondering when
36:54
we're gonna get the Damon Kemp tiant because aren't they brothers. They did tease
36:59
that during the Eddie Thorpe Damon Kemp stuff that was going on with NXC Underground
37:04
and Gabe Steveson was helping Eddie Thorpe out. But yeah, maybe they carry
37:08
that over a little bit. The stuff with Barren Corby. I just read
37:12
an interview I think he was on After the Bell with Corey Grays and Kevin
37:14
Patrick THEE podcast, and he said he requested to go down at NXT and
37:20
refresh his character a little bit. So he seems to be enjoying it,
37:22
and I think he's the perfect person on the NXC roster to have that first
37:27
big debut match in NXT. So Baron Corbyn Gabel steveson this Sunday at NXC
37:32
Great American Bash. Next match here is he Weapons wild match as Roxann Perez
37:37
takes on Blair Davenport Doctor Trey. Who do you like in this one?
37:43
Kind of gone back and forth because I'm trying to fig out that, you
37:45
know, we need another challenger for Tiffany Stratton. Roxanne Perez makes a bunch
37:49
of sense, but you're still trying to establish Blair Davin boards. I think
37:54
I'll take as a weapons match, I'll take a Rock Sam. This one's
37:59
been really hard for me too. I think I'll take Rock Sand just because
38:01
the baby faces typically don't lose weapons matches, So I'll take the baby face.
38:07
Roxam Perez get the whinever Blair Davenport. Yeah, Roxam Perez needs a
38:12
big victory. She has been taking a lot of els. They did a
38:15
cool segment on Tuesday's NXT where her and Blair Davenport battled and like a gas
38:21
station supermarket and it is very um head nod to the Booker t Stonehold grocery
38:29
store segment from SmackDown like in two thousand and one, two thousand and two,
38:34
So that was pretty cool and roxand looked good in that, and I
38:37
think that needs to carry over in Weapons Wild because She's She's definitely not been
38:40
booked great in my opinion in the last couple of months on NXET, So
38:45
I'm taking roxam Perez as well, and that takes us to our main event
38:49
is Carmelo Hayes defends the NXCAT Championship against Eliot dragging Off. I'm really looking
38:52
forward this match. This match kind of came out of nowhere. Did not
38:54
see Carmelo feuding with Elia, and it's been pretty good on XC television so
39:00
far. Elie definitely looks pretty strong. He closed out NXT taking out Carmelo
39:05
Hayes, which, if you are a long time listening the show knows that
39:07
that typically doesn't pan out well for the pay per view match itself. So
39:10
I'm gonna take Carmelo Hayes to retain the NXC champiship at the Great American bashover
39:15
Elia dragging Off. You look at dragging Off over the past couple of months.
39:20
I mean he got he got a victory of a braun breaker, he
39:22
had that great falls count Anywhere match with with Ordi Jack. He's for a
39:30
guy who's like one hundred and eighty five hundred ninety pound, they're almost booking
39:34
him like a monster, So kudos to him. But you know, wrestling
39:37
one on one says, whoever gets the upper hand on the go home show
39:40
means they're losing the pay per view. So although the stuff of Bobby Lashly
39:45
is an interesting and it could be a way to transition out of it,
39:47
but I just don't think it's time for that yet. So I think Carmelo
39:50
retains. So there you go. Carmelo Hayes retains from both of us here
39:53
and Doctor Train I had the same prediction. So if you're looking for some
39:57
changes in the pay per view prediction records, you probably won't see it at
40:00
the Great American Bash. But we will recap and review the Great American Bash
40:06
