- 0:22Speaker 1: I am in Chicago and the iHeart studios.
- 0:24Speaker 3: I just got internet.
- 0:26Speaker 1: Let's go tea. Bob is with us today. Very excited
- 0:29Speaker 1: about that. I'm not on the zoom though. Taylor's asking
- 0:32Speaker 1: me where I want to start. Everyone is frantic, worried
- 0:35Speaker 1: about whether or not I'm going to make it here
- 0:37Speaker 1: in time.
- 0:37Speaker 3: T Bob. Yeah, look, I was fully prepared to host
- 0:42Speaker 3: Stu gottson Company. It's gonna be T Bob and Company.
- 0:44Speaker 3: I mean, this is a dream come true. I'm doing
- 0:47Speaker 3: I'm doing radio once again, back in my comfort zone
- 0:51Speaker 3: with one of my radio all time heroes, ste Gootts.
- 0:54Speaker 3: This is awesome. Shout out the studios here, they're beautiful.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Excited to be here, beautiful day in Chicago. Stew the
- 1:00Speaker 3: Chamber of Commerce weather.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Today, So let's start there.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I'm signing on to the zoom link for today because
- 1:06Speaker 1: Taylor is freaking out, and he has every right to
- 1:08Speaker 1: be freaking out. Let's start with the weather because I'm
- 1:11Speaker 1: here in Chicago. My daughter just graduated from Northwestern and
- 1:15Speaker 1: there's a Cubs game tonight.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Some of the girls on her lacrosse team are thrown out.
- 1:19Speaker 3: The first pitch.
- 1:20Speaker 4: They're going to leave the crowd National champs.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yes, in the seventh inning stretch, I have to go
- 1:26Speaker 1: to this game. They'll sing, take me out to the ballgame.
- 1:29Speaker 1: I'm very excited. I told her, Hey, this is stuff
- 1:32Speaker 1: that Bill Murray does, this is stuff that Eddie Vedder does.
- 1:36Speaker 1: But I am telling you right now, based on what
- 1:39Speaker 1: I just walked through, there is no way there's going
- 1:42Speaker 1: to be a Cubs game tonight.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Am I right? Yeah? I mean yeah, we're here. It's
- 1:50Speaker 3: tornado weather out there. Yes, it's fifty five degrees. I
- 1:53Speaker 3: feel sick yesterday and it's incredibly wet outside it is.
- 1:59Speaker 1: I am logging onto the zoom Now, guys, we'll take
- 2:02Speaker 1: some phone calls because t Bob miss is doing radio.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Hell yeah, he misses taking phone calls. So eight seven,
- 2:08Speaker 1: seven ninety nine on Fox. I gotta mute that.
- 2:10Speaker 3: Here we go. We don't care. Also, was that giant
- 2:15Speaker 3: ding to start the show? Wow, that's terrible. Was that
- 2:19Speaker 3: was that a sound effect? Or was that your phone
- 2:21Speaker 3: going off? That was my phone? Go? Okay, okay, okay,
- 2:23Speaker 3: yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, that makes sense. Oh there
- 2:26Speaker 3: you are. You're in the zoom.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Now I'm in the zoom.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Now I can see Taylor, I can see Jason, I
- 2:30Speaker 1: can see Sherman Oaks. I'm very excited about it makes
- 2:32Speaker 1: me feel better. I can't see Jason, I can see
- 2:35Speaker 1: Dan Bayer. So t Bob, let's start here with the
- 2:39Speaker 1: with the New York Knicks. Okay, come about it, because
- 2:42Speaker 1: we haven't talked enough about the Knicks, and Taylor's very excited.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Jalen brunts it has changed his life.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Okay, we're gonna need to mute that as well, and
- 2:49Speaker 3: then then we can dive into the triumphant return to
- 2:53Speaker 3: glory of the New York Knicks fifty three years too.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yes, so are you annoyed by the nick by the
- 3:00Speaker 1: coverage by the fans, Because if you're not annoyed by
- 3:04Speaker 1: the fans yet, And it's funny with this next team
- 3:07Speaker 1: because they turned into this lovable little underdog. Yeah, in
- 3:10Speaker 1: the biggest market in the world, and I am wondering
- 3:14Speaker 1: if people are going to start getting Nick fatigue with
- 3:16Speaker 1: the fan base, because the fans, for the most part,
- 3:20Speaker 1: have acted pretty tame all things considered. And I do
- 3:25Speaker 1: laugh at how this team and the rest of the country.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I never imagined in my wildest dreams Team Bob, that
- 3:32Speaker 1: the country would rally around a New York team, especially
- 3:36Speaker 1: this next team, But the country has. They have fallen
- 3:39Speaker 1: in love with his team, And I'm wondering when they
- 3:42Speaker 1: stop being in love with his team and it turns
- 3:44Speaker 1: from love to hey, enough.
- 3:47Speaker 3: We get it, you're annoying, ushy. Look. I would say this,
- 3:51Speaker 3: the team will remain as likable as they possibly can
- 3:58Speaker 3: be in that Like, there's a million guys on that
- 4:01Speaker 3: team whose stories I think probably resonated with a lot
- 4:03Speaker 3: of us. Right. We know Jalen Brunson's seig round pick.
- 4:06Speaker 3: He's in Dallas. They didn't want to pay him, Like
- 4:09Speaker 3: he was going to stay home for a deal. He
- 4:11Speaker 3: was going to sign with him for nothing. They didn't
- 4:13Speaker 3: want to pay him that. Even he's forced to go
- 4:15Speaker 3: find his fortune Oly so he gets his opportunity to
- 4:17Speaker 3: the Knicks. He then takes less money to help them
- 4:19Speaker 3: build a team around him, another move that the common
- 4:22Speaker 3: folk like to cheer on from the outside. Looking in
- 4:24Speaker 3: carl ad they town's Yeah, he was a number one
- 4:26Speaker 3: overall pick, but he was forced out of Minnesota saying, hey,
- 4:29Speaker 3: you're not good enough to win a championship. Josh Hard
- 4:32Speaker 3: and Josey Alvarado, two of my guys, spent years put
- 4:35Speaker 3: it on for the Pelicans, which sets a look as
- 4:37Speaker 3: a fan that's a brutal existence, right, So so it is.
- 4:40Speaker 3: It is a team comprised. It's like the Island of
- 4:43Speaker 3: Misfit Boys. They were all also rams cast offs and
- 4:48Speaker 3: they and they came together and they created something where
- 4:52Speaker 3: the hole was greater than the sum of his parts.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Jalen Brunts is incredible, and so the team, the individuals
- 4:58Speaker 3: are still likable. That said, the streak is over. You
- 5:03Speaker 3: won a championship. So yeah, I'm you know, in another week,
- 5:06Speaker 3: I'm all the way out of the New York Knix again,
- 5:08Speaker 3: Like why I know you? You were already the most
- 5:11Speaker 3: valuable franchise in the entire world, despite not necessarily earning
- 5:16Speaker 3: it through results, and now that you have the results.
- 5:19Speaker 3: It just feels like you have everything, and yeah, why
- 5:22Speaker 3: why you can't be the underdog anymore? It's over.
- 5:24Speaker 4: It was a fun run, though, Taylor, how do you
- 5:26Speaker 4: feel about what it is?
- 5:27Speaker 3: T Bob is.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Saying here that we are no longer the other the
- 5:31Speaker 1: underdog because we were the lovable little underdog. This entire
- 5:34Speaker 1: playoff fraud, and now T Bob is kind of saying,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I guess, yeah, I'm out on him.
- 5:39Speaker 3: In another couple of weeks, I get nothing, but.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Yeah, congrats, very insincere congratulations.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Look, I'm happy for you.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Okay, Yeah, I don't feel like put it on the
- 5:53Speaker 1: pole tailor. Is t Bob happy for nick fans? Because
- 5:57Speaker 1: I feel like it's really insincere.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Dan Bayer, you had.
- 5:59Speaker 5: Something there, you know, I thought it was interesting and
- 6:02Speaker 5: T Bob wasn't here on Monday.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I don't know if Stu, if you realize this, or
- 6:07Speaker 5: Taylor realizes this, or if Taylor's got any of his
- 6:10Speaker 5: material from Monday, but I think that the uh. I
- 6:14Speaker 5: hope he does, by the way, because I think T
- 6:15Speaker 5: Bob needs to hear some of it. The great thing
- 6:17Speaker 5: about the Knicks is, as you guys were talking about
- 6:20Speaker 5: the fifty three year drought, how likable these players are,
- 6:23Speaker 5: how humble Jalen Bruns it is. It was a fifteen
- 6:26Speaker 5: minute barrage of bashing San Antonio and Victor wembin Yama.
- 6:31Speaker 5: And that's that. It wasn't about the glory of finally
- 6:35Speaker 5: it was over. It was the New York that we
- 6:38Speaker 5: all know and hate. It was like it was right there,
- 6:41Speaker 5: I mean, right in the face of the San Antonio Spurs.
- 6:44Speaker 3: There was no I remember I remember back.
- 6:47Speaker 5: With the family when we would gather around the TV
- 6:50Speaker 5: and watch them in nineteen ninety nine or nineteen ninety four.
- 6:53Speaker 3: None of that.
- 6:54Speaker 5: It was an opportunity to take your cab or whatever
- 6:56Speaker 5: and run it all over the face of San Antonio.
- 7:01Speaker 3: I kind of like that. I mean, that's a bit
- 7:03Speaker 3: more in keeping with what Knicks fans should be doing.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Taylor fair? Was that fair?
- 7:09Speaker 6: So I'm just now able to hear you, guys, Okay,
- 7:12Speaker 6: I was dark the first few minutes of this time.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Hold on, just a peek behind the curtain here, just
- 7:18Speaker 1: to peel it all the way back.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Also taking I asked Taylor a question.
- 7:22Speaker 1: He I did not know that he could not hear
- 7:25Speaker 1: a single word that was coming out of my mouth.
- 7:28Speaker 1: I was waiting for a response, and because I didn't
- 7:30Speaker 1: get one and had no confidence whatsoever in going back.
- 7:34Speaker 4: To Taylor, I then just threw it to Dan Byron
- 7:37Speaker 4: drimming over.
- 7:37Speaker 3: I threw it to Taylor. Yea perfect was the question.
- 7:43Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 4: I'm gonna be honest with you, Dan, you want to
- 7:45Speaker 4: reask your question.
- 7:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 7:47Speaker 5: T Bob wax poetically on why the why the why
- 7:51Speaker 5: people love these Nicks. But I said, in the first
- 7:53Speaker 5: fifteen minutes of the show, when you guys were on
- 7:55Speaker 5: on Monday, you just took a taxi cab and ran
- 7:57Speaker 5: it all over the San Antonio Spurs for fifteen straight minutes.
- 8:01Speaker 5: There was no like glory years of fifty three years
- 8:03Speaker 5: and all the heartbreak. It was a straight assault on
- 8:07Speaker 5: Victor Webbin Yama and the Pips.
- 8:09Speaker 3: That's what it was for fifteen minutes.
- 8:11Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, t Bob. I don't want people to like
- 8:14Speaker 6: this next team. Everybody's doing this thing saying the Knicks
- 8:17Speaker 6: are this lovable underdog. No, we're from New York City.
- 8:20Speaker 6: We don't want you to like us. We're a tough team,
- 8:22Speaker 6: We're a scrappy team. We roll our sleeves up. I'm
- 8:25Speaker 6: looking at the weather right now, getting ready for this
- 8:27Speaker 6: parade tomorrow. Like your guys weather in Chicago, twenty five
- 8:31Speaker 6: percent chance of rain. I get the saying, don't rain
- 8:34Speaker 6: on my parade now.
- 8:36Speaker 4: I would take twenty five percent chance of rain right now.
- 8:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no, twenty five about this.
- 8:41Speaker 1: This is one hundred percent chance of rain. No Cubs game.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I'll be sitting out there waiting for the first pitch,
- 8:47Speaker 1: waiting for my daughter to lead the crowd and take
- 8:50Speaker 1: me out to the ballgame, and none of it's gonna happen.
- 8:52Speaker 3: So here, here's the deal, though, with with with Wimbying company. Yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 3: I love what I saw to Wimby. I love the
- 9:01Speaker 3: fact that I kind of hate Wimby now because we're
- 9:04Speaker 3: coming out of the era where players are too chummy.
- 9:07Speaker 3: They've been too chummy for like twenty years now. And
- 9:11Speaker 3: maybe even at the time I applauded it, I was younger,
- 9:13Speaker 3: it felt new. Now I want to go back the
- 9:16Speaker 3: other direction, and Wemby represents that rubber banding effect. I
- 9:20Speaker 3: like that he played a little dirty. I like that
- 9:22Speaker 3: he was out there ordering hits. I like that he
- 9:25Speaker 3: seems to be motivated by being slided, like the fact
- 9:29Speaker 3: that he almost became this pseudo bad guy. Thank god,
- 9:33Speaker 3: we need that back in the NBA. And I'm excited.
- 9:37Speaker 3: And this is going to motivate him. If you look
- 9:39Speaker 3: at throughout his career, whenever he's felt like he was
- 9:42Speaker 3: set back, whenever Fews felt like he was slighted, he
- 9:44Speaker 3: has used it, he has internalized it, and this is
- 9:47Speaker 3: going to motivate him to get back here. And look
- 9:50Speaker 3: when you when you look at this first team, Yes,
- 9:52Speaker 3: they're probably more talented than the Knicks are on paper. Right,
- 9:55Speaker 3: The Knicks one with intangibles, like I said, the whole
- 9:57Speaker 3: grad in some of its parts they were with experience,
- 10:01Speaker 3: like the Spurs team is at the very beginning of
- 10:04Speaker 3: what they could potentially become.
- 10:05Speaker 1: So if they replay this series, this is a fact, okay,
- 10:08Speaker 1: based on the odds to win the NBA Championship next year,
- 10:12Speaker 1: If the Nixon Spurs said hey, let's just do it again,
- 10:15Speaker 1: let's start zero zero San Antonio has home court, the
- 10:19Speaker 1: Spurs would be the favorites to win this series, right, fanz.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Well, I mean, look, somebody get Kenny Akinson on the phone,
- 10:25Speaker 3: because analytically, analytically, the San Antonio Spurs are the NBA
- 10:30Speaker 3: Finals champions, right, but it just didn't work out in reality. Unfortunately.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Your larger point is that sports, I guess in general,
- 10:38Speaker 1: needs villains, and what you hear the criticisms you hear
- 10:42Speaker 1: about the NBA, besides the fact these guys aren't playing
- 10:45Speaker 1: enough games, they're not playing enough minutes, they're not doing
- 10:47Speaker 1: all that is some of these guys are just too
- 10:50Speaker 1: friendly off the court and there really is no rivalry.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Wemby is not here for any of it. He doesn't
- 10:56Speaker 1: care if you like him. He doesn't care if you're
- 10:59Speaker 1: a friend of his. He doesn't care if he ends friendships.
- 11:03Speaker 1: That dude cares about one that he saved the All
- 11:05Speaker 1: Star Game and now he's saving the NBA.
- 11:08Speaker 4: He doesn't care if anyone likes him.
- 11:10Speaker 1: What he cares about is getting back to work and
- 11:12Speaker 1: getting San Antonio to where he thinks they belong, and
- 11:16Speaker 1: he thinks they.
- 11:17Speaker 4: Are the team that should be holding up the Lario Bright.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Well, And I would even extend it to somebody like
- 11:22Speaker 3: Nikoli Jokich, who again, and I want all guys to
- 11:25Speaker 3: exist how they are, right, like I don't want anybody
- 11:28Speaker 3: to put on airs pretend to be something they're not.
- 11:30Speaker 3: But even Jokich thing like his whole I like basketball,
- 11:34Speaker 3: but I don't love it. I really love horse racing.
- 11:36Speaker 3: That was fun. But Wimby is this is more of
- 11:39Speaker 3: what I'm used to in sports. This is more of
- 11:41Speaker 3: your kind of traditional, motivated out for blood guy, and
- 11:46Speaker 3: I'm glad to see it. And it's even gonna be
- 11:48Speaker 3: fun on the international stage, yes, right, because because now
- 11:51Speaker 3: when you get France, USA basketball already, the game's been
- 11:53Speaker 3: globalized already. You look at the best players from the NBA,
- 11:56Speaker 3: It's from all over the world, and that's gonna be
- 11:58Speaker 3: fun to watch on that front as well. I got
- 12:00Speaker 3: a question for you, okay. NBA Cup, Yeah, just like that,
- 12:05Speaker 3: the NBA Cup is back. It is think about it.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Nicks beat the Spurs for the cup. Do you put
- 12:12Speaker 3: both trophies? Like, do you hang an NBA Cup banner
- 12:15Speaker 3: to show that you had the first ever? Is the
- 12:17Speaker 3: first NBA clean sweep? Yes? Uh it is, yes, first
- 12:21Speaker 3: double NBA history, the first double in NBA history.
- 12:24Speaker 1: So what are you asking me? Are we going to
- 12:25Speaker 1: show off the trophy hang a banner?
- 12:27Speaker 3: What do you at the parade are you putting the
- 12:29Speaker 3: NBA Cup trophy by the finals trophy.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I am putting the NBA Cup trophy right next to
- 12:34Speaker 1: the finals trophy.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I'm also raising two banners.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Hell yeah, hell yeah, let's sink into it.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I mean, why not.
- 12:40Speaker 1: I made fun of the NBA Cup for well for
- 12:43Speaker 1: a year. It's two years old. But the Knicks won it,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and that changes everything.
- 12:48Speaker 4: How about that?
- 12:48Speaker 3: Well they won it and then they yeah, they gave
- 12:50Speaker 3: it legitimacy by going and winning it all in the
- 12:53Speaker 3: end as well.
- 12:54Speaker 5: They really did tanners one cup, that's what the Knicks have.
- 12:57Speaker 5: Two banners, one cup.
- 12:58Speaker 3: God, I don't actually know. It's not at.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Horrible all right, let's uh, I need to dry off,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I need a new shirt, so let's take a quick
- 13:08Speaker 1: time out here. Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 13:11Speaker 1: That is eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. Not
- 13:14Speaker 1: where I wanted to start today with t Bob. I
- 13:17Speaker 1: got to be honest with you, but I'm glad we did.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu gottson Company
- 13:22Speaker 2: Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific on
- 13:26Speaker 2: Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Yeah a hattie, how about that? Tea, Bob, oh good announcers, Dude,
- 13:35Speaker 1: that's right, the youngest guy ever to uh to net
- 13:39Speaker 1: a hat trick in the World Cup and now the
- 13:41Speaker 1: oldest guy ever.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Ohky, I know that. Yes, I take it back. That's
- 13:45Speaker 3: a hell of a stat that I didn't come across
- 13:46Speaker 3: from this Listen.
- 13:47Speaker 1: No one is glued to this World Cup the way
- 13:49Speaker 1: I'm glued to this World Cup.
- 13:51Speaker 3: No one loves it. So I was talking to someone.
- 13:53Speaker 3: They were telling me there's three and ozer on your picks.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Well, you were talking to me.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So I'm doing something here called blind World Cup picks,
- 14:02Speaker 1: and by blind, I have no idea what it is
- 14:04Speaker 1: I'm watching. I have no idea which teams are good,
- 14:07Speaker 1: which players are good. I am just looking at lines
- 14:10Speaker 1: on FanDuel, and I'm doing what my gut tells me
- 14:13Speaker 1: to do. Yesterday three and zero, Big Day, perfection. Big
- 14:18Speaker 1: Day Today had Portugal zero and one. So, yes, that is.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Interesting because yesterday we saw a day in which, like
- 14:29Speaker 3: id and to be fair, like there's gonna be a
- 14:32Speaker 3: soccer head who I'm sure have better context for all this.
- 14:35Speaker 3: But in terms of all the superstars showing out on
- 14:39Speaker 3: the biggest day, I don't know if I've ever seen
- 14:40Speaker 3: a day like yesterday. We got started with Imbape tallying two,
- 14:45Speaker 3: including a beautiful goal to put that game away and
- 14:48Speaker 3: stoppage time. Then you got the giant Viking Earlin Holland,
- 14:52Speaker 3: who is like straight out of Eggers Northman movie. Like,
- 14:55Speaker 3: I mean, this guy stepped off the television screen, stepped
- 14:58Speaker 3: off the boat. I'm i'm, I'm, I'm a monk living
- 15:00Speaker 3: on an island, and monaster. He raided my house, he
- 15:03Speaker 3: took my women, he took all my belongings. Earlin Holland.
- 15:06Speaker 3: He drops into and then MESSI at thirty eight years old,
- 15:10Speaker 3: not to be denied. Hat trick with two quality goals
- 15:14Speaker 3: amongst the three.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Dance stay right there because I am told you have
- 15:17Speaker 1: a top five tailor. What was that smile for? Dan
- 15:19Speaker 1: merely mentioned North Carolina and punching a ticket.
- 15:22Speaker 3: What happened?
- 15:24Speaker 6: So North Carolina is up eight to one right now
- 15:26Speaker 6: in the bottom of the fourth inning. If they win
- 15:28Speaker 6: this game against West Virginia, they go to the finals
- 15:32Speaker 6: in this College World Series. West Virginia, if they come
- 15:35Speaker 6: back and win, would have to beat North Carolina a
- 15:37Speaker 6: second time.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Stu.
- 15:39Speaker 6: Right now, the Knicks win the championship North Carolina going
- 15:43Speaker 6: to the College World Series Final. People are calling it
- 15:45Speaker 6: the summer of Taylor right now.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Put it on the Paul Taylor. Are people calling it
- 15:51Speaker 1: the summer of Taylor right now?
- 15:53Speaker 3: Yes? Or no? Now, Taylor, you're also a You're a
- 15:56Speaker 3: you strike me. You give the vibe of somebody who's
- 15:59Speaker 3: locked in the US men's national team, like throughout the
- 16:02Speaker 3: four years in between Cups, fair or not?
- 16:06Speaker 6: Tea Bob couldn't be more fair. I love this US team.
- 16:09Speaker 6: I've been trying to tell everybody for as long as
- 16:11Speaker 6: they've been listening, this team might be different. This team
- 16:15Speaker 6: is electric. Up top Balligan Balligan. Maybe the best story
- 16:19Speaker 6: this World Cup. Where his mom is from London. She
- 16:24Speaker 6: goes to New York on vacation when she's pregnant. She's
- 16:27Speaker 6: too pregnant to fly back, so she has to give
- 16:30Speaker 6: birth to the striker in Brooklyn. They they eventually go
- 16:34Speaker 6: back to London. But hey, there's a catch there. He's
- 16:37Speaker 6: our new striker and as long as he keeps scoring goals,
- 16:40Speaker 6: I'm gonna love him.
- 16:41Speaker 3: What a flimsy way to be doing this, divine belliginchin
- 16:46Speaker 3: By the ways, too. Wow, sounds like the summer of Taylor. Yes,
- 16:49Speaker 3: I mean that's a four to one win over powered
- 16:52Speaker 3: by Like Yes, sounds like the summer of Taylor. Right.
- 16:55Speaker 3: How the Yanks doing huh?
- 16:57Speaker 6: The Yankees are doing good?
- 16:58Speaker 3: T bop.
- 16:59Speaker 6: What it's really happening. I need as many wins as
- 17:02Speaker 6: possible right now going into the fall, because I have
- 17:05Speaker 6: a feeling Bill Belichick's year two in Chapel Hill.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Is going to be an absolute disaster. The best football
- 17:12Speaker 3: coach of the planet.
- 17:13Speaker 1: What are you complaining about, dude, now, But enjoy your
- 17:15Speaker 1: summer because the fall is going to be a complete disaster,
- 17:18Speaker 1: That's what he terribly Yeah, yes, I am very excited Taylor,
- 17:23Speaker 1: because I am told Dan Bayer he rarely sends me
- 17:26Speaker 1: a text.
- 17:26Speaker 3: He rarely.
- 17:27Speaker 1: I mean we talk and he's a big part of
- 17:29Speaker 1: the show and we love him around here. But man,
- 17:31Speaker 1: he sent me a text today saying I've got a
- 17:34Speaker 1: top five. I think it might be fun for the show, okay,
- 17:37Speaker 1: and I am here for all top fives, and so
- 17:40Speaker 1: Dan Bayer, please take it away.
- 17:42Speaker 5: This is very exciting, and guys, time is of the
- 17:45Speaker 5: essence because we are about to say goodbye to the
- 17:47Speaker 5: college sports aspect of the season. With this College World
- 17:51Speaker 5: Series wrapping up within the next week or so, we
- 17:55Speaker 5: say even more hello to summer and goodbye to college
- 17:58Speaker 5: athletics until they start probably in like five more weeks.
- 18:01Speaker 5: But anyway, here they are. Are you ready the top
- 18:05Speaker 5: five schools named after bands or musical artists?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Oh wow, I'm exciting.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm going to spend all night trying
- 18:12Speaker 1: to think of my own top fiveez.
- 18:14Speaker 3: Right, got a couple of olies here.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Number one, Little Johns Hopkins, Little Johns Hopkins. That's Oli, Yes,
- 18:27Speaker 5: Princeton in the New Revolution. Another Oli, the UAB fifty
- 18:36Speaker 5: two's I love it, and our final Oli, Notre Dame Dolla.
- 18:45Speaker 3: Okay. Number five? Number five?
- 18:48Speaker 5: Number five, Yes, schools named if they were named after
- 18:51Speaker 5: bands or musical artists, right, Memphish Tigers, I mean Cracked
- 19:01Speaker 5: Number five?
- 19:02Speaker 3: Yeah, the other Little Johns Hopkins, you know a lot.
- 19:04Speaker 5: Number four, it's his list, Houston Cougar's Mellencamp.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Oh, I love it.
- 19:09Speaker 5: Yes, this one's for t Bob. Number three LSU twos right, I.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Mean you could do that with so many Schoolsano yeah.
- 19:22Speaker 5: Number two Texas m and m Aggies oh, I like
- 19:26Speaker 5: it and number one Old Kiss.
- 19:33Speaker 4: The Rebels.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Okay, hell yeah, well done, damn boye Old Kiss.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Yes, how do you feel about that? Dan?
- 19:41Speaker 4: You feel good about it?
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah? I feel really good about it. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 19:46Speaker 5: You know, as we set into the summer slide on,
- 19:49Speaker 5: I thought Old Kiss was worthy of number one.
- 19:51Speaker 4: It was all you need is one. That is right,
- 19:54Speaker 4: Summer of Taylor. Go ahead, Taylor, the good Charlotte forty
- 19:58Speaker 4: nine ers.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Oh wow, you whipped on that one, Dan. I mean,
- 20:09Speaker 1: there's there's enough for everybody, right, Yes, yes, there is, Taylor.
- 20:13Speaker 3: I am.
- 20:14Speaker 1: I'm excited here, and I think t Bob is going
- 20:17Speaker 1: to be excited as well, because I think t Bob
- 20:18Speaker 1: loves playing radio games. And we do have some calls
- 20:21Speaker 1: and we'll get to them in a second eight seven
- 20:23Speaker 1: seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 20:25Speaker 4: But Taylor has a new game for us.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Tea. Yeah, it's called One Ring.
- 20:28Speaker 7: One Ring to rule them all, one ring to find them,
- 20:32Speaker 7: one ring to bring them into the darkness and bind
- 20:35Speaker 7: them in more door where the Shadows Lie? Do you
- 20:38Speaker 7: know that's from Stu?
- 20:40Speaker 3: No? What, I have no idea? What do you mean?
- 20:43Speaker 3: Why would I know? Do you even know about the
- 20:45Speaker 3: black speech, the tongue of better door. No Lord of
- 20:49Speaker 3: the Ring stick. Come on, okay, read a book? I mean, well, no, what.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I choose not to read?
- 20:57Speaker 7: Uh?
- 20:58Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, so what is this game? What's one ring?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Well, we'll have Taylor introduce it. I have no idea.
- 21:02Speaker 1: If there's you know, if there's imaging, if there's music,
- 21:05Speaker 1: if there's fanfare. Let's have Taylor explain the game to us.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Wow.
- 21:10Speaker 6: So right now, Knicks fans are very divided because the
- 21:14Speaker 6: celebrity Knicks fans are fighting who deserves a ring. Spike
- 21:18Speaker 6: Lee is saying he wants a ring. You know, Ben
- 21:20Speaker 6: Stiller is taking photos with the trophy. So Stu, I
- 21:24Speaker 6: created a bracket, okay for one ring, sixteen seeds. It's
- 21:29Speaker 6: a sweet sixteen. I'm gonna give you guys the matchup.
- 21:31Speaker 6: You tell me who advances, and then at the end
- 21:34Speaker 6: we're gonna determine who gets the ring.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:40Speaker 6: The first matchup one seed Spike Lee her sixteen seed
- 21:45Speaker 6: Taylor Swift.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean easy, Spike. Yeah, we hold these shoes
- 21:50Speaker 3: to be self evident.
- 21:51Speaker 4: Yes, I'm not certain Spike is deserving of a ring.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I know Taylor Swift is not okay, and she'll get
- 21:57Speaker 1: a ring at MSG at the Mecca when she it's
- 22:00Speaker 1: married to Travis so yes, Yes.
- 22:04Speaker 6: The eight nine matchup Chris Rock verse the nine seed
- 22:08Speaker 6: Larry David.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Larry David's reaction to Heart's miss lay up one.
- 22:15Speaker 3: It's the best thing is that it really is. It's
- 22:17Speaker 3: one of the best we had all playoffs too.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, that reaction just showed me, at least how much
- 22:21Speaker 1: he cares, how much he was paying attention.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Chris Rock.
- 22:27Speaker 4: What was Chris Rock's reaction to the miss Jason Hard
- 22:30Speaker 4: Josh Art lay up?
- 22:32Speaker 6: You love calling him Jason RT by accident?
- 22:35Speaker 3: I really do. I did. It's a tough one. I'm
- 22:38Speaker 3: gonna go. I'm gonna go.
- 22:40Speaker 6: Larry Dave.
- 22:42Speaker 3: I'm Larry Dame for that highlight alone. It stands out
- 22:44Speaker 3: of my mind more than anything I heard about Chris
- 22:45Speaker 3: Rock is the playoffs.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Taylor, Who have you seen it more games this year?
- 22:49Speaker 1: Larry David or Chris Rock.
- 22:53Speaker 6: I believe Chris Rock. Chris Rock has more of a
- 22:55Speaker 6: reputation as a Knicks fan, but Larry David has the
- 22:58Speaker 6: better reactions at Knicks games just because it's Larry David.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yeah, No, No one likes Chris Rock anymore. Everybody hates Chris.
- 23:09Speaker 3: That's the show man. You're going Larry, Huh, I'm going Larry,
- 23:15Speaker 3: just for the for the reactions, like I look, the
- 23:16Speaker 3: eight nine is not making out of the bracket anyway.
- 23:18Speaker 4: You're right, Yes, I'll give Chris the Rock.
- 23:21Speaker 3: How about that? There you go, Yes, more true Knicks fan.
- 23:24Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 23:27Speaker 6: The four to thirteen matchup. The four seed Tracy Morgan
- 23:31Speaker 6: burst the thirteen seed. Tennis is bad boy John McEnroe.
- 23:37Speaker 1: McEnroe has loved the Knicks forever. I mean, tea Bop
- 23:44Speaker 1: is really thinking about this, Taylor. I just heard a grumble.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I heard a man who was deep in thought.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Look, I don't want to cheat these guys of a ring.
- 23:55Speaker 3: I know the result of this game will actually determine
- 23:58Speaker 3: who gets the rings to Okay, there's a lot on
- 24:00Speaker 3: the line, there is.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Uh, you had something, Taylor.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Yeah, Tracy Morgan had that one moment last year where
- 24:07Speaker 6: he threw up on the court of Madison Square Garden.
- 24:09Speaker 1: If I wasn't making that up, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay, Okay,
- 24:12Speaker 1: so he cares more, right, I yeah, left it all
- 24:17Speaker 1: out there, he did, Tracy Morgan, Yes, He left it
- 24:21Speaker 1: all out there, left it all out on the court,
- 24:23Speaker 1: giving new meaning the flu game.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Yes, I'll give it to Tracy. Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 6: So this is the popular one for the upsets, the
- 24:33Speaker 6: five to twelve matchup. The five seed Fat Joe burst,
- 24:36Speaker 6: the twelve seed Wu Tang Klan.
- 24:41Speaker 3: It's always Wu Tang wang life, always Wu Tang for sure,
- 24:44Speaker 3: Wu Tang on top twelve over five, a dangerous twelve seed.
- 24:49Speaker 4: Who did Fat Joe bring to one of the games?
- 24:51Speaker 4: Who was it again?
- 24:53Speaker 3: DJ Khaled?
- 24:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Dj Khaled, you can't do that.
- 24:57Speaker 3: He's a heat phone.
- 24:58Speaker 1: The whole time on his phone, he fell as sleep.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I think I wasn't paying attention. It's a waste of
- 25:02Speaker 1: a floor seed DJ sleep.
- 25:04Speaker 3: He had get up call Fat Joe. I'm not giving
- 25:12Speaker 3: it to Fat Joe. Good name, great name, but we're
- 25:16Speaker 3: going We'll take Wu teg yep.
- 25:20Speaker 6: The two verse, fifteen seed, the two seed, Ben Stiller,
- 25:25Speaker 6: verst the fifteen seed, steven A Smith.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Steven A feels like he deserves a ring, feels like
- 25:32Speaker 1: he's the reason the Knicks won an NBA championship. Ben
- 25:35Speaker 1: Stiller was at the met Gala during one of the
- 25:38Speaker 1: biggest games of the year he thought he.
- 25:40Speaker 4: Made up for by traveling to all the other games
- 25:42Speaker 4: on the road.
- 25:43Speaker 3: He didn't.
- 25:43Speaker 1: He was still at the met gala when he was
- 25:45Speaker 1: supposed to be at a next game. I can tell you,
- 25:48Speaker 1: steven A. Smith would never, ever, ever miss a Knicks
- 25:53Speaker 1: game for the Mech Gala.
- 25:56Speaker 3: No, he might be playing solitaire, but he would not
- 25:58Speaker 3: miss the game. Right.
- 26:00Speaker 1: He might miss the game because he's distracted playing another game, yes, right,
- 26:05Speaker 1: but he'd be at the game, but he'd be at
- 26:07Speaker 1: the gate physically there, and that's important.
- 26:09Speaker 3: I agree. Yes, I'm giving it to steven A. Yeah. Yeah, look,
- 26:14Speaker 3: there are some things you can't come back for. Yeah,
- 26:16Speaker 3: in the midst of this legendary playoff run bailing for
- 26:19Speaker 3: the the the the ostentatious, pretentious, exorbitant, gluttonous met gala
- 26:27Speaker 3: right now, out of here. Sorry.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Still, it wasn't even like a family occasion, a family emergency,
- 26:32Speaker 1: a bar mitzvah, a wedding.
- 26:35Speaker 3: It was the Mechgala. Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 4: Was it a funeral?
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it was the mech Gala. Out of here, Steven.
- 26:43Speaker 6: It would be different if it was the Knicks Gala.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Right, Well, I'm much it could have been. It could
- 26:48Speaker 3: have been a million different things. Family thing, like you said,
- 26:51Speaker 3: his daughters don't have the first picture Wrigley, A lot
- 26:53Speaker 3: of things that could happen.
- 26:54Speaker 1: It'd be odd for them to have the Knicks gala
- 26:57Speaker 1: during an NBA an NBA playoff game, that feed here's
- 27:00Speaker 1: the New York Knicks.
- 27:01Speaker 3: Yes, scheduling conflict.
- 27:03Speaker 4: The Knicks warn't expecting to get this far.
- 27:09Speaker 6: The next matchup, the seventh seed Adam Sandler versus the
- 27:12Speaker 6: ten seed Julius Randall.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Oh Man, a former Nick The reason we got Karl
- 27:20Speaker 1: Anthony Towns.
- 27:24Speaker 6: I thought there was no names Domino that fell.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought there was no name you're gonna be
- 27:30Speaker 3: able to put out there that was gonna make me
- 27:32Speaker 3: not go sand Man. But you might have found you
- 27:35Speaker 3: might have found the one. Oh Man.
- 27:39Speaker 4: I love this game.
- 27:40Speaker 3: By the way, I'm gonna go Randall, shout out another
- 27:44Speaker 3: former Pelican.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I'm lia littered throughout the league. I'm Livia. I'm going
- 27:48Speaker 1: Julius Randall, even.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Though now they want to run him out of Minnesota
- 27:51Speaker 3: as well.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, well, I tell it you're shocked by that.
- 27:55Speaker 6: No, I actually think that is the right call. Juyce
- 27:57Speaker 6: Randall there all right?
- 27:58Speaker 3: Good bring him home.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Yes, the three Verse, the fourteen the three Seed, Timothy
- 28:05Speaker 6: Shallow May the fourteen Seed, a very similar situation with Randall,
- 28:09Speaker 6: but it's Dante DiVincenzo.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Yeah, but Devincenzo didn't bring us anything.
- 28:17Speaker 3: I mean, he wasn't Nova Nick he was, But I
- 28:22Speaker 3: guess he's kind of the saddest situation of anybody because
- 28:26Speaker 3: not only is he not on the team anymore, but
- 28:27Speaker 3: it's all of his Nova boys. Yeah, he's the ring. Yeah,
- 28:31Speaker 3: but look, it's it was. It's it's now the Summer
- 28:34Speaker 3: of Taylor, but the beginning was the summer of Schallo May.
- 28:39Speaker 3: It's Timothay.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I mean he went back on the plane with them
- 28:43Speaker 1: after they won the title.
- 28:44Speaker 3: He skipped the met gallup. Stu, he wasn't at the
- 28:47Speaker 3: met Gallop. He wasn't at the met Galop. That's it.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Case closed. Shallomet yep, yep.
- 28:51Speaker 6: And Shalla May is bringing Jenner's to the next games. Now,
- 28:54Speaker 6: like Knicks games are cool to go to, They've always
- 28:56Speaker 6: been cool to go to, but once you start bringing
- 28:58Speaker 6: the Jenners, it kind of takes it up to a
- 29:00Speaker 6: whole another level.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yeah, thank god, Timothy shall Mad made Knicks games of
- 29:03Speaker 3: destination before nobody wanted a piece of That's a great
- 29:06Speaker 3: point in Taylor.
- 29:07Speaker 4: And all Dante is bringing his resentment.
- 29:09Speaker 6: I mean, Bom, you could you could hear when I
- 29:13Speaker 6: started that point, how quickly I regret it.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Was that right exactly? He tried, He tried to immediately
- 29:19Speaker 3: cover up. Well, I mean it was it was always
- 29:20Speaker 3: cool to go. But would you read?
- 29:26Speaker 4: Are we done with the games? Or like?
- 29:28Speaker 3: Do we advance.
- 29:31Speaker 6: The six to eleven matchup the sixth seed Tom Thibodeau.
- 29:34Speaker 6: This is the final first round matchup Tom too burst
- 29:37Speaker 6: the eleven seed and Hathaway and Hathaway got Karl Anthony
- 29:41Speaker 6: Town's a cameo in Devilware's Product two, and she says
- 29:44Speaker 6: she owns a og Annobie jersey before this playoff run.
- 29:48Speaker 3: M I believe her. I don't, but I can't help
- 29:54Speaker 3: but notice the distinct lack of Mariska Hargitae. We hate
- 29:58Speaker 3: to see that from everybody who's my age. I watched
- 30:00Speaker 3: SVU reruns twenty four to seven, told Caddy loved it. Also,
- 30:05Speaker 3: Thibodeau as a sixth seed is insane. Here, yes, he
- 30:09Speaker 3: is the one man on this list who legitimately should
- 30:11Speaker 3: get a ring, right like. He's the one who changed
- 30:14Speaker 3: the culture and made the Knicks believe that they could
- 30:17Speaker 3: be winners again, him and Steven A.
- 30:19Speaker 5: Yes, Thibodau, Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I'm with you. Tom Thibodeau deserves to be on a float.
- 30:26Speaker 1: He deserves to be a part of the parade. He
- 30:28Speaker 1: deserves to be recognized.
- 30:30Speaker 3: He got this.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Exact same team to the Eastern Conference finals.
- 30:34Speaker 4: It wasn't good enough. They fired him, They got Mike Brown.
- 30:37Speaker 4: He went on one round further won them a title.
- 30:42Speaker 1: But man, as excited as I was during this run,
- 30:48Speaker 1: there was always a part of me, even while winning
- 30:50Speaker 1: the title, that I fell badly for Tom Thibodeau.
- 30:53Speaker 4: Yeah, of course, thiboda Yeah.
- 30:56Speaker 3: You wanted to see that sweaty, chubby vampire on this
- 30:59Speaker 3: sideline again? Yeah? I did. He just always looked like
- 31:03Speaker 3: to me, I'm sorry.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm going Tom Thibodoh, I'm with you on this. He
- 31:06Speaker 1: deserves a ring, all right.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
- 31:11Speaker 2: live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. T Bob is
- 31:21Speaker 1: in for Israel Good Airs today. We do have a
- 31:23Speaker 1: phone call. We will take that call and then we'll
- 31:26Speaker 1: discuss Brendan Soresby here. In just a second, let's go
- 31:28Speaker 1: out to Justin and Seattle. Justin, go ahead, you're on
- 31:31Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio. Do we lose Justin?
- 31:33Speaker 3: We lost Justin? Okay, Iron said Justin.
- 31:36Speaker 1: I was Sam, you need to take those calls off
- 31:38Speaker 1: the board before I go to them. Just the friends
- 31:40Speaker 1: and family of Justiny Gone Gone noted, thanks to Sorry
- 31:47Speaker 1: about that on After Justice.
- 31:49Speaker 7: He is so.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Airy, dirty laundry on the air.
- 31:56Speaker 3: I get blame you, but I get blamed for everything
- 31:58Speaker 3: back here, even if you know it's a fault. Mature
- 32:02Speaker 3: of the beast.
- 32:02Speaker 4: Do you want me to start blaming EPJ, So I'll
- 32:04Speaker 4: do that.
- 32:05Speaker 3: You can blame Sam Sam.
- 32:10Speaker 5: By the way, Yeah, this played out exactly how it
- 32:13Speaker 5: Sam wanted it to. Wasn't his fault. Yes, he didn't
- 32:17Speaker 5: out the person who's fault it may have been. So
- 32:20Speaker 5: he looks like the team players exactly now. The responsibility
- 32:24Speaker 5: is not on him, and he's not a snitch.
- 32:27Speaker 3: I mean that just sounds like somebody that studied at
- 32:30Speaker 3: the School of Gods.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yes broadcasting, Yes, no question, Stu, I got a question
- 32:37Speaker 1: for you.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Okay, great. Do you have any idea how the supplemental
- 32:41Speaker 3: draft works? So I do? I actually, really, you do?
- 32:43Speaker 3: You know? I didn't know this is till this morning. Okay,
- 32:46Speaker 3: well I think that I do.
- 32:47Speaker 1: Okay, the NFL doesn't have to open up the supplemental Draft.
- 32:51Speaker 1: They decide whether or not they want to, and they
- 32:54Speaker 1: do that based on whether or not there are good
- 32:56Speaker 1: players available in the supplemental Draft.
- 32:59Speaker 3: It's not.
- 32:59Speaker 4: It's not an annual thing. It's not a yearly thing.
- 33:02Speaker 1: And I have to think that Sores be the reason
- 33:05Speaker 1: he did what he did is his agents have some
- 33:07Speaker 1: sort of idea that the NFL has some interest in,
- 33:10Speaker 1: therefore they will open up the supplemental draft for him.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Is that Is that accurate? I would say, to my understanding,
- 33:16Speaker 3: that's accurate. Yes, Okay, Now do you know how the
- 33:18Speaker 3: order is deciding so that this is pretty interesting? I
- 33:20Speaker 3: do not know.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Well, it's based on interest, is it not.
- 33:23Speaker 3: So teams with less than six wins, yes, get a
- 33:27Speaker 3: lottery ball, right, and they're going to determine the top
- 33:30Speaker 3: third of the draft. Basically, teams with more than six
- 33:33Speaker 3: wins but didn't make the playoffs, or the next group
- 33:35Speaker 3: of the teams a lottery ball, do the order, and
- 33:37Speaker 3: then teams that made the playoffs get lottery balls. Now
- 33:39Speaker 3: the thing is it's just so then you have an
- 33:42Speaker 3: order established. But then how it works is Sorezy is
- 33:45Speaker 3: up for grabs and teams put in blind bids. Wow
- 33:48Speaker 3: of a round, I love this, and whoever wins, you
- 33:51Speaker 3: have to give up that pick in the twenty twenty
- 33:54Speaker 3: seven draft, right, So the.
- 33:56Speaker 4: Draft that everyone's looking forward to exactly.
- 33:58Speaker 3: Like contextually does for Soresby, because everything I've read coming
- 34:02Speaker 3: out of this is that had he gone into the
- 34:05Speaker 3: traditional NFL draft this year, he was going to be
- 34:07Speaker 3: a first round like he was gonna be him and
- 34:09Speaker 3: Ty Simpson right there battling. He's essentially, from everything I've read,
- 34:12Speaker 3: viewed as a consensus second round pick, borderline first round guy.
- 34:17Speaker 4: So we might be a RAM, is what you're saying.
- 34:19Speaker 3: What I'm what he could have been a RAM. But
- 34:21Speaker 3: more importantly is now, what do you do if you're
- 34:24Speaker 3: these NFL teams and you have a quarterback that is
- 34:27Speaker 3: generally viewed as like a borderline first maybe maybe a
- 34:30Speaker 3: first round pick. I mean, going into next year, he
- 34:32Speaker 3: was going to be right behind arch Manny and Dante Moore. Sure,
- 34:34Speaker 3: he's six three two thirty five, can run really well,
- 34:39Speaker 3: excellent arms, drength, accuracy, leaves a bit to be desired.
- 34:43Speaker 3: But if like, who goes after him? And what are
- 34:45Speaker 3: you willing to bid? Because the gambling come into play,
- 34:48Speaker 3: You're not going to give up a first. We all
- 34:49Speaker 3: know that, not next year's draft. You probably don't want
- 34:52Speaker 3: to give up a second. But what if you feel like, well,
- 34:54Speaker 3: I'm the only team if we do, then we might
- 34:57Speaker 3: be guaranteed to get him. Yeah, and is it worth it?
- 35:00Speaker 1: It's worth it if you think he's the guy, right, Like,
- 35:03Speaker 1: if you think Sorsby is the guy, is he talented?
- 35:06Speaker 3: Let's just start there. Yeah. No, absolutely, yes.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Like tent like take the gambling stuff out of it.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Sworsby would be a first round pick in any draft
- 35:13Speaker 1: pretty much.
- 35:13Speaker 3: No, I would say that I don't want to overstep,
- 35:18Speaker 3: but I would say, like the the the full on
- 35:20Speaker 3: consensus is second round talent. Uh and maybe like maybe
- 35:26Speaker 3: like a fifty to fifty split on being a borderline
- 35:28Speaker 3: first because again, he has the traits right, Like, his
- 35:31Speaker 3: numbers are good, but it's the fact that he's huge
- 35:34Speaker 3: and he can run and he has great natural arm strength. Again,
- 35:37Speaker 3: accuracy seems to be one of the knocks, but they
- 35:39Speaker 3: like his decision making and they like all the other
- 35:41Speaker 3: traits that he has. Right, So you could you could
- 35:45Speaker 3: be talking about, like, if you think nobody else is
- 35:46Speaker 3: gonna go above a three, you could talk about bidding
- 35:49Speaker 3: a three, yeah, and maybe getting like a first round
- 35:51Speaker 3: talent potentially.
- 35:52Speaker 1: It seems like a gamble all the dice, Yeah, crapshoot TeamUp.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Would you would you be surprised if Brendan Sorosby goes
- 36:07Speaker 6: undrafted in the supplemental draft where if a team is
- 36:10Speaker 6: thinking about putting in a blind bid for him in
- 36:13Speaker 6: the fourth round or the fifth round, and they're kind
- 36:15Speaker 6: of weighing the options, and you kind of saw it
- 36:17Speaker 6: with should or Sanders, but to a much lesser extent
- 36:20Speaker 6: with what what was going to be coming with with
- 36:22Speaker 6: him and the baggage that comes with him, where teams
- 36:24Speaker 6: are like, it's not really worth it for us to
- 36:27Speaker 6: take this fifth round pick if we're going to get
- 36:29Speaker 6: this circus that that comes along with him.
- 36:32Speaker 3: The key there is the traits though, when you're talking
- 36:35Speaker 3: about Shoulder versus Brendan Swordsby, and I was and I
- 36:38Speaker 3: was a big Shooter supporter and everything, So it's not
- 36:40Speaker 3: like I'm someone who's out there and been like, oh,
- 36:42Speaker 3: shoulder Center's not any good ones to talk about him,
- 36:44Speaker 3: But like, yeah, Soorsby will come with a bit of
- 36:46Speaker 3: a circus. But almost every core, almost every team in
- 36:49Speaker 3: the NFL has their QB one plan already ready to go, right, right,
- 36:53Speaker 3: so soors is gonna show up, He'll be QB two.
- 36:56Speaker 3: There might be an initial rush of media, but it's
- 36:58Speaker 3: not gonna have the tail that like even the Shooter
- 37:01Speaker 3: Sanders situation has, right, Like.
- 37:03Speaker 1: To me, the bigger early at single rush is what
- 37:05Speaker 1: you're saying yes and then it goes away well, And.
- 37:07Speaker 3: To me, the bigger risk would not be the media.
- 37:11Speaker 3: It would be like, we are dealing with addiction here,
- 37:13Speaker 3: and addiction is very tough and it's cunning and baffling
- 37:15Speaker 3: and all these sorts of things, and so like that
- 37:17Speaker 3: would be the questions that I would be asking more
- 37:19Speaker 3: if I was the front office's like, do I think
- 37:21Speaker 3: that he could make it? Basically keep his nose clean
- 37:23Speaker 3: in that regard, but absolutely there is no way he
- 37:26Speaker 3: would go undrafted in a supplemental draft. He's way too talented,
- 37:29Speaker 3: and there's way too many teams that could use him.
- 37:31Speaker 3: The Jets could use him, Yes, of course. I mean
- 37:33Speaker 3: y'all are probably in are y'all in tank mode?
- 37:35Speaker 6: Are you?
- 37:36Speaker 3: Are you gonna try to set up for arts next year?
- 37:37Speaker 1: We're always in tech mode. There's no way. Listen, arch
- 37:40Speaker 1: isn't coming to the Jets. Okay, over over Archie's dead body. Yes, Taylor,
- 37:47Speaker 1: you have something.
- 37:49Speaker 6: I just think the the landing spot I want to
- 37:52Speaker 6: see for Brendan Sooresby in the supplemental draft. We mentioned
- 37:56Speaker 6: a quarterback already on that team. The Browns. The Browns,
- 37:59Speaker 6: the brown are the Kings that just throwing darts quarterbacks
- 38:03Speaker 6: and hoping one of them sticks. They did it last
- 38:04Speaker 6: year with Gabriel and shud Or Sanders that you can
- 38:07Speaker 6: Alan Green from Arkansas, this pass trap. Just just throw
- 38:10Speaker 6: another dart and see if Soorsby works out in Cleveland.
- 38:13Speaker 1: I would tell you had they never gone down the
- 38:15Speaker 1: Deshaun Watson path, perhaps they would be in play for Soresby.
- 38:19Speaker 1: But you cannot go out and get Deshaun Watson with
- 38:23Speaker 1: all the baggage that comes with him, and then.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Go get Sorsby.
- 38:26Speaker 1: You can have a quarterback room that has Deshaun Watson
- 38:30Speaker 1: and Brendan Soresby.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Yeah, look, I'm I'm with Tail though. It's deeply funny
- 38:36Speaker 3: to think about the Browns just adding another guy that
- 38:39Speaker 3: they've been trying to solve that issue for years. It's
- 38:42Speaker 3: a volume shooting game at this point of the Cleveland Browns.
- 38:45Speaker 3: I mean, okay, what about this? What about don't get
- 38:48Speaker 3: a team like the Packers? They love Jordan Love, they
- 38:51Speaker 3: don't have a Leak Willison as a backup anymore. You're
- 38:53Speaker 3: telling me you get an uber talented guy. Maybe a
- 38:55Speaker 3: mid round pick might be worth it. The Panthers, maybe
- 38:59Speaker 3: Dan Byrie have something here. Yeah, I'd love to see
- 39:01Speaker 3: him in Las Vegas. Yea with Mendoza. Let him learn
- 39:06Speaker 3: under Mendoza and Kirk reasons, none of those reasons. I'd
- 39:11Speaker 3: love to see him in Las Vegas, right yeah, just.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Independent of nothing, is what you're saying in a vacuum, right, Yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 1: let's just see him in Vegas.
- 39:21Speaker 3: I mean, okay, what, okay, perfect example, The Jets are
- 39:23Speaker 3: so far the best. What I've heard is a Jet
- 39:25Speaker 3: that's a good fit right there. So the only problem
- 39:27Speaker 3: with the Jets, I would say is that, giving y'all's
- 39:29Speaker 3: proclivity for losing, you might actually end up in the
- 39:33Speaker 3: archer Dante more sweep sakes, like you might be picking
- 39:35Speaker 3: up top What about this? That's fair Indianapolis Colts team
- 39:39Speaker 3: that wants to win now and will win now. They
- 39:42Speaker 3: will not lose enough to be bad enough to get
- 39:45Speaker 3: one of those top guys next year. Right, And you're
- 39:48Speaker 3: telling me for a mid round pick, you get him,
- 39:50Speaker 3: but you're not. You're not like sold super long term
- 39:52Speaker 3: on Daniel Jones.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Now, how many quarterbacks are supposed to go in the
- 39:56Speaker 1: first round next year? It's a tricky question because before
- 39:59Speaker 1: the season star a year ago, they were talking about
- 40:02Speaker 1: that quarterback class and how great it was, and then
- 40:04Speaker 1: only two guys got taken in the first round. So
- 40:08Speaker 1: I'm wondering, what are they projecting this year because you
- 40:10Speaker 1: might be riding the Colts if they feel like they
- 40:13Speaker 1: might be, you know, too good to.
- 40:15Speaker 4: Get one of those quarterbacks next year. Maybe taking a
- 40:17Speaker 4: flyer on Soresby is smart?
- 40:18Speaker 3: Well, I mean, and why not? Because like yeah, and
- 40:20Speaker 3: Daniel Jones even represents your kind of immediate plan correct,
- 40:23Speaker 3: and you can ride him for even a year or
- 40:25Speaker 3: two if you need to and really let source we
- 40:27Speaker 3: get some season in and cooking, and then maybe you've
- 40:29Speaker 3: suddenly stumbled into like a first round talented. I mean, look,
- 40:32Speaker 3: so you're gonna have You're gonna have Dante more next year,
- 40:35Speaker 3: you have Arch Manning. Leonora Sellers could work his way
- 40:40Speaker 3: into those conversations. I'm trying to the guys that I
- 40:43Speaker 3: get confused with with CJ. Carr. Was he a red
- 40:46Speaker 3: shirt freshman last year? Notre Dame? Like will he be
- 40:49Speaker 3: draft eligible? Will a Julian say and be draft eligible?
- 40:52Speaker 3: I think they are, but I'd have to double check
- 40:54Speaker 3: that off the top of my head.
- 40:55Speaker 1: So this is interesting because you're saying the teams who
- 40:58Speaker 1: feel like they might not have a shot because they're
- 41:00Speaker 1: going to be too good. That's what I feel of
- 41:02Speaker 1: getting a quarterback in the first round. Uh, in a
- 41:06Speaker 1: in a quarterback rich draft, maybe they get their quarterback here.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Well, again, if if Soresby was in this group, there
- 41:13Speaker 3: is a school of thought out there that going into
- 41:15Speaker 3: the year, and that could change everything. Yeah, like you said,
- 41:17Speaker 3: look at this last year, but that going into the
- 41:19Speaker 3: year that Sorsby would be right behind Manning and Dante
- 41:24Speaker 3: more So, like that he would be better than some
- 41:26Speaker 3: other guys that might sneak into the first round next year. Wow,
- 41:29Speaker 3: I know it's Look it's it's like you said, it's
- 41:32Speaker 3: a gamble. Yeah, well it is risk versus reward.
- 41:35Speaker 4: Like I'm thinking Saints, but the Saints.
- 41:37Speaker 3: No, no, no, no no, we gotta teller shut Okay, get
- 41:40Speaker 3: out of here, Shaints. What the hell are you talking about, dude?
- 41:42Speaker 3: We got the best second year quarterback in the entire NFL,
- 41:46Speaker 3: Jackson Dark Jackson fart, get out of here.
- 41:49Speaker 4: Okay you bum go ahead, dylk so.
- 41:52Speaker 3: T bop CJ.
- 41:54Speaker 6: Carr would be draft eligible because his first red shirt
- 41:56Speaker 6: ear he sat behind Riley Leonard in twenty twenty four.
- 42:00Speaker 6: I feel like, from a college football perspective, college football
- 42:04Speaker 6: is a sport in which point nature, everybody is so divided.
- 42:07Speaker 6: But there's few things that can unify college football fans.
- 42:10Speaker 6: And that's what this Brendan Soorsby situation did, where it
- 42:13Speaker 6: was Texas Tech versus everybody. As an LSU fan, Brendan
- 42:17Speaker 6: Soorsby picked Texas Tech over LSU. Do you feel like
- 42:21Speaker 6: you dodged a bullet?
- 42:23Speaker 3: Yeah? I mean absolutely, dude. I mean you would have
- 42:24Speaker 3: been we would like at least Texas Tech. They still
- 42:27Speaker 3: have Will Hammond, who came in last year against Utah,
- 42:30Speaker 3: played very well, end up tearing his ACL and so
- 42:32Speaker 3: he might have a slow started the season. But like
- 42:34Speaker 3: their original plan was for Hammon to be the guy,
- 42:37Speaker 3: it wasn't until the torn ACL that they went out
- 42:39Speaker 3: and really went after Soresby LSU would have you know,
- 42:42Speaker 3: been up crack creep without a paddle if if they
- 42:45Speaker 3: had gone with this and then so instead you get
- 42:47Speaker 3: you get Sam Levitt. Who is I mean, have y'all
- 42:51Speaker 3: seen a picture of Sam Levitt? I haven't. I'm worried
- 42:53Speaker 3: he's too hot. Really, Yeah, Like I want a hot quarterback,
- 42:57Speaker 3: but he's hot enough where I'm not sure if he's
- 42:59Speaker 3: going to be focused. A lot of distractions down to
- 43:03Speaker 3: you know, a lot of it's just again, I like
- 43:06Speaker 3: my quarterbacks good looking. He might be too hot. Put
- 43:09Speaker 3: it on the poll. Is Sam Levitt too hot to
- 43:11Speaker 3: be a good quarterback? He is? My God, I know,
- 43:16Speaker 3: I'm telling you it's like Zach Wilson a bit so.
- 43:21Speaker 3: I but I trusted Lane, trusted Lane Kiffin. Yes, but yeah, no,
- 43:26Speaker 3: I mean it's a great point. We absolutely dodged a
- 43:28Speaker 3: bullet and because because I don't think I mean no, obviously,
- 43:33Speaker 3: when teams were recruiting him and committing to millions of dollars,
- 43:37Speaker 3: there's no way that they knew that this was percolated
- 43:39Speaker 3: in the background. No, he is a strapping young man.
- 43:41Speaker 3: I must tell you, Yes, I know, I think he
- 43:44Speaker 3: did okay at Arizona State that he made a playoff.
- 43:50Speaker 4: You don't think the NFL is going to be nearly
- 43:51Speaker 4: as well.
- 43:52Speaker 1: I don't think the NFL is going to be worried
- 43:54Speaker 1: at all about Sarsby and his gambling addiction.
- 43:56Speaker 3: So I would say, I would say, I mean maybe
- 43:58Speaker 3: at that position it does take on a bit more concern,
- 44:01Speaker 3: But I would look at you know, if you wanted
- 44:02Speaker 3: to be positive, look at Keishaan Boudi, another LSU guy
- 44:05Speaker 3: who coming out of LSU, it came out that he
- 44:08Speaker 3: had a gambling problem as well, you know, thousands one
- 44:11Speaker 3: thousands of bets and then and he's talked about it.
- 44:16Speaker 3: How look, he was in a bad place. Sure he
- 44:18Speaker 3: was dealing with the diction, the same type of thing,
- 44:20Speaker 3: and that he has since been reformed and really had
- 44:23Speaker 3: saved his life and he's doing very well with the
- 44:25Speaker 3: new England Patriots. So I now again addiction is nothing
- 44:29Speaker 3: to be messed with. But I do have to imagine
- 44:32Speaker 3: that with such a microscope on you and really a
- 44:36Speaker 3: zero tolerance policy, I think, and with everything that's at stake,
- 44:41Speaker 3: I would think Soresby would hopefully have the support systems
- 44:44Speaker 3: in place to be able to keep this under control.
- 44:46Speaker 1: So we'll break in a second. But tailor, I'm starting
- 44:48Speaker 1: to think of like two teams who are good, but
- 44:51Speaker 1: they're not completely sold on their quarterback for whatever reasons.
- 44:56Speaker 1: And do they risk a first rounder next year to
- 44:59Speaker 1: get sores be nobody's going first rounder.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I cannot fathom a world or somebody because it's not
- 45:04Speaker 3: just quarterbacks next year. It's like an uber talently crass
- 45:06Speaker 3: class across the board. Okay, I think it is just
- 45:08Speaker 3: somebody pushed a second or do they take their luck
- 45:11Speaker 3: with third?
- 45:13Speaker 4: How about the Texans?
- 45:15Speaker 3: Well, I mean they keep telling us though that you know.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Yeah, well they keep saying that. I mean, of course
- 45:20Speaker 1: they're going to say that. It doesn't mean it's gonna
- 45:22Speaker 1: come true. What that crat is going to be better
- 45:25Speaker 1: this year?
- 45:26Speaker 3: No, they keep that. I mean, if last year's playoff
- 45:29Speaker 3: game wasn't enough to make or break you on the
- 45:32Speaker 3: on on CJ shutter, or at least make you like
- 45:35Speaker 3: question it a little bit. They seem to fully believe
- 45:38Speaker 3: in him. And I mean, if I again, if I
- 45:42Speaker 3: was a Texans fan, though, I would I would think
- 45:45Speaker 3: about it.
- 45:46Speaker 2: Though.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Davis Mills is probably about as quality of a backup
- 45:48Speaker 3: as you can get in the entire NFL.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Right now, he went a floating last year. He kept
- 45:52Speaker 1: his team afloat while the quarterback was out. How about Jacksonville,
- 46:00Speaker 1: they're not sold on Trevor Lawrence.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Come up, you don't think?
- 46:03Speaker 4: How could you be?
- 46:03Speaker 3: I mean after last year it was one year to
- 46:07Speaker 3: be fair. Last time he had the one year, it
- 46:09Speaker 3: took him like four years to get back to the
- 46:10Speaker 3: one year. So he has one year every four years.
- 46:14Speaker 3: You're looking for two in a row here, And I
- 46:17Speaker 3: am worried about Liam Cohen going too cool guy. Yes,
- 46:20Speaker 3: look at the coach's picture. Look at the shades he's
- 46:22Speaker 3: rocking to press conferences. Now, sorry to.
- 46:25Speaker 6: T Bob as somebody who gets to do shows with
- 46:28Speaker 6: Stu Gotts. How do you feel when you're on the
- 46:30Speaker 6: receiving end of one of his eh one year?
- 46:33Speaker 3: Oh it's My favorite technique ever. My favorite lesson that
- 46:37Speaker 3: I learned from broadcasting is when you don't know about something,
- 46:40Speaker 3: just throwing out like the only nickname that you may
- 46:42Speaker 3: know about it. Maybe you know a great player or
- 46:44Speaker 3: a great coach through the history. You mentioned the Avalanche,
- 46:49Speaker 3: I'll be like Patrick Waugh the pipes and that's all
- 46:53Speaker 3: you got. Unbelievable Forsburg. Yes, and it's amazing what that
- 46:56Speaker 3: will do. They're like, hey, that guy knows the Avalanche.
- 46:59Speaker 4: No one's way.
- 47:00Speaker 3: It's like t Bob he uh no. So I I
- 47:03Speaker 3: think I think the Falcons yeah, to be interesting because
- 47:06Speaker 3: they're probably not gonna be terrible. Yeah, but they they
- 47:10Speaker 3: got major questions about Pinnis.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Well they have two quarterbacks and you know what that means.
- 47:13Speaker 3: They don't have one.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Yes, let's take a quick time out. Here's a word
- 47:18Speaker 1: from Taylor.

- 47:45Speaker 6: from Seattle.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Dan Bayer, I'm here with T Bob. He's in for
- 47:49Speaker 1: Isy today. We're in Chicago. It's there's a hurricane outside.
- 47:54Speaker 1: And these are the three things I heard blurted out
- 47:57Speaker 1: before we got during the break and before we came
- 48:00Speaker 1: back here. And I watch you when you do the
- 48:03Speaker 1: update to think about which one of these three you
- 48:06Speaker 1: would like us to discuss first. Okay, I have no context,
- 48:10Speaker 1: I have nothing. I have a wizard costume, all right,
- 48:15Speaker 1: I have Viking blood.
- 48:18Speaker 5: And an NFL wheel of topics. All right, my number
- 48:23Speaker 5: one pick Viking blood.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Wow.
- 48:26Speaker 1: Okay, summer if tailor continues. By the way, he was
- 48:28Speaker 1: fist pumping during that update, Viking.
- 48:31Speaker 4: Blood, yeah, Viking blood, yes, So he just plarted out
- 48:35Speaker 4: Viking blood.
- 48:36Speaker 3: To be fair, the wizard's costume and the Viking blood
- 48:40Speaker 3: are somewhat dovetailing here. Okay. Because I'm a man who
- 48:44Speaker 3: loves renfests, a man who loves medieval times, I bought
- 48:49Speaker 3: a Gandolf costume off of Etsy custom made to my
- 48:52Speaker 3: measurements a few years back and since it had been
- 48:54Speaker 3: added to the costume. The point is that a lot
- 48:56Speaker 3: of these things people will drink mead. Have you ever
- 48:58Speaker 3: had mead? No? I believe. So it's it's it's bases
- 49:02Speaker 3: like honey, like honey water fermented basically, But but it's
- 49:05Speaker 3: it's it's very alcoholic, more so than wine, more so
- 49:08Speaker 3: than beer, not quite as much as liquor. Very sweet, okay,
- 49:12Speaker 3: but my god, the most vicious, brutal hangover that you
- 49:17Speaker 3: could possibly imagine. Like you want to know why the
- 49:19Speaker 3: Vikings are so pissed off all the time, why they
- 49:22Speaker 3: were always pillaging and killing and stealing, It's because they
- 49:25Speaker 3: were a hungover on Viking blood. Okay meat, yes on
- 49:28Speaker 3: me exactly. Yes, So no, I drink an entire fifth
- 49:32Speaker 3: of it one night, and yes, the next day, I'm
- 49:35Speaker 3: curled up in the fetal position in the shower, you know,
- 49:39Speaker 3: hot steaming water, pelting my body, pain racking my head.
- 49:43Speaker 3: And I said, never again. So I'm out of Viking blood, okay,
- 49:46Speaker 3: but I'm in on the Wizard cost all right, Taylor.
- 49:50Speaker 6: Stu. I feel like me and you would stick out
- 49:52Speaker 6: like a sore thumb at a rent fair. But just
- 49:55Speaker 6: for the content. I feel like we have to go
- 49:57Speaker 6: with t Bop to a Renfair just just to experience
- 50:00Speaker 6: it once.
- 50:01Speaker 3: It's incredible, so I listen.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I don't think we would stick out nearly as much
- 50:06Speaker 1: if we went with Ta Bob, right, I think T
- 50:09Speaker 1: Bob people will be looking at tea Bob.
- 50:11Speaker 4: Like, hey, who are these two? Why are they here
- 50:13Speaker 4: with you?
- 50:18Speaker 3: Dresses? Somewhat funny?
- 50:19Speaker 7: Yeah, it was a fine day for a pipe of
- 50:24Speaker 7: tobacco out of doors and into the bark and when
- 50:27Speaker 7: did you speak?
- 50:27Speaker 3: My friend? They were good.
- 50:29Speaker 1: But people who attend these things, like yourself, you take
- 50:32Speaker 1: it very seriously. And when you see two people walking
- 50:35Speaker 1: around who don't belong like me and Taylor, you tend
- 50:37Speaker 1: to make fun of us and mock us.
- 50:39Speaker 3: And no, no, no, no, I'm going to dispel stereotypes
- 50:43Speaker 3: and ill conceived notions here, Okay, Because no, the Renident
- 50:46Speaker 3: Dress is an incredibly accepting place. You don't have to
- 50:49Speaker 3: dress up, you don't have to do accents. If you
- 50:52Speaker 3: like to drink beer, do you like to watch people
- 50:55Speaker 3: ride horses and joust each other? Do you like somewhat
- 50:59Speaker 3: funny comedy shows? They get funnier the drunker you get. Yeah, Well,
- 51:02Speaker 3: I mean, hey, I got a place for you coming
- 51:05Speaker 3: up in a month here, Kenosha, Wisconsin is going to
- 51:07Speaker 3: be the place to be.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Really Yeah, wow, telor Teal you in I mean Kenosha.
- 51:14Speaker 6: Yeah. I was trying to think of I was trying
- 51:15Speaker 6: to think of basketball or athletes that canoe renfairs, and
- 51:19Speaker 6: the only one I could think of was Purdue basketball
- 51:21Speaker 6: player Trey Kaufman Renfair.
- 51:28Speaker 1: All right, Kenosha, Wisconsin. A month from now, it will
- 51:31Speaker 1: be forty two degrees. No, no it's not. No, it's
- 51:35Speaker 1: gonna beautiful. Might be, might I might be starting this.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I gotta check my dates. So it has a family tradition.
- 51:39Speaker 1: I bring all my kids, my wife, we all just up.
- 51:41Speaker 1: We've gone for every decade. It's the best. Okay, but
- 51:43Speaker 1: you take it seriously. Me and Taylor do not. We'll
- 51:45Speaker 1: stick out like sore thumbs there. But I'm willing to
- 51:48Speaker 1: do this. What is the better play do?
- 51:50Speaker 3: Me and Taylor?
- 51:51Speaker 4: Did you just pull a nostril hair out of you?
- 51:53Speaker 3: Yeah? My bad? Yeah, yeah, it's just it's bugging me,
- 51:57Speaker 3: kind of hurt, kind of tearing up a little bit.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Now that I did it stopped track.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I got another one though, right, Okay, okay, I wait,
- 52:08Speaker 1: So Taylor, how do we do this? Do you and
- 52:10Speaker 1: I just go and we know that T Bob is nearby,
- 52:12Speaker 1: like he's looking over us, but no one really knows
- 52:15Speaker 1: that we're with t Bob And we just walk around
- 52:17Speaker 1: and we see what happens. I'm not dressing up, I'm
- 52:19Speaker 1: not doing anything. I'm not drinking Viking blood. I'm just
- 52:22Speaker 1: showing up to the rent Fair.
- 52:23Speaker 3: That's it. Take some gummys. I well, duh.
- 52:28Speaker 6: You can't go all the way to the rent Fair
- 52:31Speaker 6: and then not participate in the rent fair. Me and
- 52:33Speaker 6: you we have to get size for costumes perfectly of
- 52:38Speaker 6: Knicks colors.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Okay, but I'm just worried about people mocking us and praps.
- 52:42Speaker 3: No, no, you're telling me it's fine. Dad's what you
- 52:44Speaker 3: have to understand about these events. These are not uh,
- 52:49Speaker 3: these are not exclusionary events. Everybody's just happy to be there, Yes,
- 52:54Speaker 3: having a good time, man.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yes, But it seems like if we're not getting kicked
- 52:57Speaker 1: out and people aren't mocking us, I'm just wasting my
- 53:00Speaker 1: time at a rent fair in Kenosha.
- 53:02Speaker 3: Have you ever seen people joust? I mean it's unbelievable
- 53:05Speaker 3: Stu two men riding massive muscled steeds and in a
- 53:11Speaker 3: clash of wills and iron. It's it's oh god, it
- 53:15Speaker 3: gets my heart all flutter. It warms my loins. I
- 53:19Speaker 3: feel myself becoming in gorge to just thinking about it.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Busome women serving you drinks, whip smart men with their
- 53:30Speaker 3: funny quips. Throw the tomatoes at the man. Should you miss,
- 53:35Speaker 3: he'll make fun of you. The great day you wish
- 53:39Speaker 3: you lived in that time? Man, Oh dude, it's the best.
- 53:42Speaker 3: You wish you weren't Viking. It's the best smoking tobago pipe.
- 53:46Speaker 6: Overlap into rent Fair community and Lord of the Rings community?
- 53:50Speaker 3: Is there a lot of what sorry?
- 53:53Speaker 6: Is there a lot of overlap in the Lord of
- 53:54Speaker 6: the Rings community and the ren Fair community?
- 53:56Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, absolutely absolutely. I mean the Lord of the
- 53:58Speaker 3: Rings is kind of ostensibly like it's not it's like
- 54:02Speaker 3: medieval base or a medieval kind of period. It's like
- 54:05Speaker 3: Game of Thrones, not real history, be games on set
- 54:07Speaker 3: in kind of a medieval setting. So yeah, absolutely, ton
- 54:10Speaker 3: of crossover. I mean the base of my costume is Gandolf. Okay,
- 54:15Speaker 3: so what Weeken White? We can bypass the wizard costume.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Is that what you're saying is that you don't have
- 54:20Speaker 3: to wear a costume, but if you get wild hair
- 54:22Speaker 3: up your nose. Right, they do have rental shops.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Okay, but I heard you saying during the break, Now,
- 54:26Speaker 1: Dan didn't choose this, Dan, do you want to pick
- 54:28Speaker 1: a second topic here? Your two choices are wizard costume
- 54:31Speaker 1: and NFL Wheel of Topic.
- 54:34Speaker 3: I kind of feel I gotta go wizard costume.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Thank you for going there.
- 54:39Speaker 1: I heard during the break you saying that you've been
- 54:42Speaker 1: working on this costume for years. Yes, some months, not days,
- 54:46Speaker 1: not weeks. Years you've been working on a wizard costume.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Well, because again, like me and my family, we go
- 54:50Speaker 3: every single year, right, And what you have is it's
- 54:54Speaker 3: a lot like a college football game day, and that
- 54:57Speaker 3: there's like excitement in the air, and there's exotic sights
- 55:00Speaker 3: and sounds and smells, and there's there's merchants selling their wares.
- 55:05Speaker 3: So at first my costume was essentially just a bed sheet.
- 55:07Speaker 7: Right.
- 55:08Speaker 3: Then you add a sick inscribed leather belt that you
- 55:12Speaker 3: tie around your stomach. Right then you add a couple
- 55:14Speaker 3: potion bottles that you can fill with liquor in case
- 55:17Speaker 3: you need a little.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Nip because you're getting experienced and you've been to the
- 55:20Speaker 1: fair now and now you know what you need other
- 55:22Speaker 1: than just a sheet.
- 55:23Speaker 3: And it's and it can be a bit expensive. I
- 55:25Speaker 3: got it right. So it's like one baby there. It's
- 55:27Speaker 3: kind of how I justify it here. Then next you
- 55:30Speaker 3: need a little you know, I need a little leather
- 55:32Speaker 3: satchel so I can carry my pipe and my tobacco.
- 55:34Speaker 3: And now what I don't have the first thing I
- 55:36Speaker 3: would have purchased ahead, and this is embarrassing for a wizard.
- 55:41Speaker 3: I don't have a staff. Oh wow. I've been on
- 55:44Speaker 3: the lookout for years as a whole, and I know
- 55:47Speaker 3: I know when I see the one that is meant
- 55:49Speaker 3: to be, it's gonna jump out at me. Wow, like
- 55:52Speaker 3: a lightning strike out of a blue sky. You gotta
- 55:54Speaker 3: feel it. But I have not felt it yet. Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 3: I'll know it when i'll see it. I'm not going
- 55:58Speaker 3: to over extend myself. I'm not going to reach for
- 56:00Speaker 3: something that doesn't call to me. So eventually I'm right now,
- 56:03Speaker 3: I'm a wizard without a staff. It's a sad place
- 56:05Speaker 3: to be. You'll know it when you see it, just
- 56:06Speaker 3: like me. With Austria last night doing blind World up three.
- 56:11Speaker 1: One by the way, and I have Harry game with
- 56:12Speaker 1: a goal and England winning today.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I'll go ahead, Taylor, t.
- 56:17Speaker 6: Bob your Renfair Wizard costume. It sounds like the college
- 56:21Speaker 6: football equivalent of the helmet stickers, Like every year you're
- 56:25Speaker 6: just adding another helmet sticker to your costume.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, no, I mean it's not it's not unlike that.
- 56:34Speaker 3: The only thing is if it were to keep it
- 56:37Speaker 3: the helmet sticker analogy, I'm like barely even a special
- 56:40Speaker 3: teamer when we're talking about some of the stickers here.
- 56:43Speaker 3: I mean, some of these guys are looking like prime
- 56:46Speaker 3: James Laerneidis out there. The entire helmet is just apps
- 56:51Speaker 3: every square inch of real estate. I mean, some of
- 56:53Speaker 3: the costumes that you'll see at these things will blow
- 56:55Speaker 3: your mind. I do have to give a special shout
- 56:58Speaker 3: out to the Kingdom involved, right, my old one down
- 57:00Speaker 3: in ham in Louisiana. Yeah, that's what's up. That's my guys.
- 57:04Speaker 3: Why do you have to do that? Because I just
- 57:06Speaker 3: feel bad. Guy. You know, there's a lot of people
- 57:08Speaker 3: talking about Maryland. They talk about Houston, Yeah, talking about Chicago.
- 57:11Speaker 3: They don't like the ham in Louisiana Rimfest. Don't you
- 57:13Speaker 3: always get a lot of love? Shout out yeah Hunter
- 57:17Speaker 3: renfro frere jesus.
- 57:24Speaker 4: All right, Dan, we're only left with the NFL Wheel
- 57:26Speaker 4: of Topics.
- 57:27Speaker 1: That's all we have. But you chose wisely, my friend.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I'm glad I picked the right order.
- 57:31Speaker 5: Bad news for us to Croatian just pulled even with
- 57:34Speaker 5: England as.
- 57:46Speaker 4: I might stay in Chicago just so I can do
- 57:48Speaker 4: tomorrow shot with you.
- 57:50Speaker 3: What am I gonna do? Head sends are broken? I
- 57:58Speaker 3: just remember these are definitely not my headphones.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, all right, apologies, So explain to me
- 58:04Speaker 1: the NFL Wheel of topics.
- 58:06Speaker 4: Dan and I used to have a wheel of topics
- 58:08Speaker 4: on our show.
- 58:09Speaker 3: Okay, so yeah, so, and I gotta give a shout
- 58:11Speaker 3: out to my producers Matt and Jeremy and wake Up
- 58:14Speaker 3: because this is their top This is shamelessly stolen from
- 58:17Speaker 3: a bit that we've been doing in our show. But
- 58:18Speaker 3: I do think it's fun because like, look, NBA finals
- 58:21Speaker 3: are done, Stanley Cup finals done. We're officially in an
- 58:23Speaker 3: NFL offseason. We are, yes, So these are evergreen off
- 58:27Speaker 3: season conversations. I love this spin the wheel, and I'm
- 58:30Speaker 3: gonna let y'all know what we're talking about.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Well we t Bob can see the wheel, so he
- 58:36Speaker 1: knows where it lands. All right, here we go, all right.
- 58:39Speaker 3: Finish this sentence. The Cowboys will What will the Cowboys do?
- 58:45Speaker 3: Finish the sentence? The Cowboys will? What ste gotts?
- 58:47Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's go around the room here so
- 58:49Speaker 1: I could think for a second. Let's go to Dan
- 58:52Speaker 1: Buyer first. The Cowboys will win.
- 58:54Speaker 3: The NFC East.
- 58:56Speaker 4: No way, dude, why do you say?
- 58:58Speaker 3: No way? No way? Right?
- 59:00Speaker 1: Of that defense? The offense is already good. I mean,
- 59:03Speaker 1: talk to an Eagles fan. They got rid of Patula.
- 59:05Speaker 1: They're going back to the Super Bowl. Everybody knows that
- 59:08Speaker 1: the OC was holding the Eagles.
- 59:09Speaker 3: Back last year.
- 59:12Speaker 6: Taylor, the Cowboys will disappoint.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that. I don't know. I like the
- 59:23Speaker 3: killed downs. Pick Quinn Williams. Interesting.
- 59:26Speaker 1: All right, I'll say this. The Cowboys will win a
- 59:29Speaker 1: playoff game. A playoff game?
- 59:32Speaker 3: How about that?
- 59:33Speaker 4: Wow?
- 59:33Speaker 7: Ye?
- 59:34Speaker 3: A playoff game?
- 59:35Speaker 4: Just a one.
- 59:36Speaker 3: I'm just glad I got to how about that? Yeah?
- 59:40Speaker 5: Dan, I picked him within the division. T Bob hates
- 59:42Speaker 5: it like it's a thorn in his side. You beg
- 59:45Speaker 5: him to win a playoff game. He's like, wow, all right,
- 59:48Speaker 5: good wild card. They sneak in wildcard, they won a
- 59:51Speaker 5: playoff game. Until you play the game, Dan.
- 59:55Speaker 7: Know, I mean.
- 59:58Speaker 3: I think that. Yeah, I'm gonna tell the Cowboys. Look,
- 1:00:02Speaker 3: they're always going to disappoint right there. They're they're the
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: defense is still gonna suck even with Caleb Brown's a company.
- 1:00:09Speaker 5: I don't know that with Williams.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: Yeah sounds better when I say it.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Damn, okay, no, no, no, no, no, no no. To
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: be clear, I am a bit biased. The Cowboys have
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: maybe always been there's a one team. I was kind
- 1:00:22Speaker 3: of race to hate a little bit. But when you
- 1:00:25Speaker 3: look at the NFC East, okay, you you you you
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: in theory think the Eagles maybe got better. At least
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: they think that they did. And Rose gonna put him
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: a group.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: It's such an interesting division.
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: Are the Commanders they could bounce back all of a
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: sudden made they were in two years ago if Jaden
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: stays healthy and the Giants the Giants all of a sudden,
- 1:00:43Speaker 3: like the hardball is the big thing with the Giants,
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: right because I'm actually not that much of a Jackson
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: dark believer. I think too much of his success last
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: year was predicated on just throwing his body into insane
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: Harm's ways, Like it's not sustained, not sustainable, Right, he
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: has to prove that he can do it more his
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: decision making in his arm. You know, he's not quite
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: tell a shuck in the regard yet, right, But but
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Harbon does change all the calculus there, Like he brings
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: a competency that the Giants have been in desperate need of.
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: And then, and then, even though I'm talking crap about
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: the Cowboys, Yes, they did get better defensively, and Dak
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: Prescott remains one of the best of the NFL. And
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: in the receiving the offense is gonna be awesome. Yeah,
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: So I have no idea who wins the NFC East.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: In fact that that's actually probably more of where like
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: my doubt to your answer comes from is less about
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: the Cowboys and more about the division as a whole.
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: Right me being able to craft an argument for every
- 1:01:33Speaker 3: single team go in it? You actually could?
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: All right, let's spend it one more time before we
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: break here, Yes, go ahead.
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: Which teams are in Super Bowl or bust mode? Super
- 1:01:50Speaker 3: Bowl or Bust, super Bowl or bus Do we care
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: about the rings here? Guys, you're really in my wheelhouse, right,
- 1:01:55Speaker 3: I mean I figured I kind of put my thumb
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: on the wheel scale for that one.
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: We were in yours with Viking, and now you're in mine.
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: This is.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: Let's go, Let's go to Dan first. Super Bowl or Bust.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Yeah, quick up date Harry Kane's second goal of the match,
- 1:02:09Speaker 5: England up two to one the forty thirty minutes.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Guy, he always wins, He always win.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Yep, I do blind World Cup picks. I know nothing
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: about the sport and I'm going to be four five and.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: One after today about that.
- 1:02:22Speaker 5: The obvious answer is to Los Angeles Rams, Yeah, super
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: Bowl or busts.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: But I mean, are they gonna get Aaron Donald? Guys? Yes, yes,
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: Like I really think there's absolutely a world where Donald.
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: He's already in Jay. We know that he's gonna kind
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: of chill for camp and then come back.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Just the idea of him lining up next to Miles Garrett.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: We're on the same line as Miles Garrett. I have
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: to think, all right, go ahead to Taylor, super Bowl or Bust.
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: The two teams that I would add to that window
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: the Buffalo Bills. Anytime you have Josh Allen, it should
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: be super Bowl or bust the other team. A similar
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: situation the Baltimore Ravens with Lamar Jackson, where maybe I'm
- 1:03:00Speaker 6: not saying it's going to be exactly like the Knicks,
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: but Tom Thibodeau took the Knicks as far as they could.
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: They bring in Mike Brown. Maybe Jesse Mentor is the
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: Mike Brown of the NBA.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: Oh interesting because I've been kind of going the opposite
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: direction on the men are higher seeing that it's like
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: such a wild card in Harvow was so competent that
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: right that I don't know what to expect. But yeah,
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: maybe he does a little Mike Brown, which, by the way,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Mike Brown shout out to him. Man. Yeah, I thought
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: he was a lebron merchant and I was wrong.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: He took him one round further than Top Thibodeaux. It's amazing.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: I'm going to say the Houston Texans, how about that? Really?
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: I mean, Chris, they have a champion. Well, super Bowl
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: or bust. You guys took the three. I would go
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: with the Eagles would be the other one.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think Eagles would be the only
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: other one that I would probably put in that category.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: The Texans are just so interesting because Chris sims is
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: telling us all year last year they have a championship
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: winning defect and we all thought the quarterback was going
- 1:03:55Speaker 1: to be the future of the NFL and now he's not.
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: And so it's just to me, they're an interesting team.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: So what about the team they lost to New England
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: Patriots or did they garner enough goodwill here with last
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: year that like that they you know, they have to
- 1:04:09Speaker 3: be good again to prove that it wasn't a fluke.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: But they may not have to make the super Bowl again.
