- 2:25Rory McIlroy won the 2026 Masters, becoming just the 4th
- 2:31golfer ever to win back-to-back titles, joining Jack Nicholas,
- 2:36Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. Rory set a Masters record for
- 2:41the largest 36 hole lead with a total of -12 after the first 2-2
- 2:49days and had a six shot lead. He struggled during round three,
- 2:55shooting A plus one overall and was tied for the lead with
- 3:01Cameron Young at a -. 1111 and only was one stroke ahead of Sam
- 3:07Burns. He also had two bogeys in the
- 3:111st 6 for the first six holes of the final day and Young had a 2
- 3:18stroke lead until he bogey twice.
- 3:21Tyrell Hatton, Justin Rose and Russell Henley were also in the
- 3:28running with McElroy for a a lot of the the first round final
- 3:33round and Scotty Scheffler had an impressive last day shooting
- 3:37a -, 4 when he was previously in 6th place.
- 3:42McElroy had a back-to-back birdie on holes 12 and 13 and
- 3:48did just enough to hold off a late surge from Scheffler who
- 3:53finished at a -, 11. McElroy.
- 3:55McElroy now ties Nick Faldo with his sixth major championship,
- 4:01tied for the most by a European player in modern in the modern
- 4:07era. Now McElroy, it took him a
- 4:09little while to develop into the player he became.
- 4:11When he came, when he was coming up as a golfer, he couldn't win
- 4:15one of these big majors. It was a big problem for him.
- 4:19And yet he had to contend with an older Tiger Woods, a Phil
- 4:22Mickelson and and all these different transitional players.
- 4:25Rose has really become a star and and there there are a lot of
- 4:29great golfers. Sheffly, we we watched Xander
- 4:33Sheffly all all year play very good golf.
- 4:37He is he's been one of the better American golfers in the
- 4:42in, in, you know, in the on the tour.
- 4:44I'm sorry, I'm trying to figure out my words here.
- 4:46And Cameron Young, he played very, very well throughout round
- 4:503. And, and again, these guys are
- 4:53going to come and they're going to go.
- 4:54And that's what's great about these big these, the Masters,
- 4:58the US Open, all these big tournaments, especially when
- 5:01you're trying to win the Masters title.
- 5:04What stands out to me about Rory McIlroy is he knew that he was
- 5:09being haunted. He was.
- 5:11He won the Masters degree, Masters championship last year
- 5:16and now he was moving into this tournament.
- 5:17A lot of people had him as a favorite.
- 5:20We all know Rose and Scheffler. Scheffler has been one of the
- 5:23better golfers, I believe, the best golfer in the world.
- 5:27And as he's come out and say that golf is not as important
- 5:30than his family as Aaron Rodgers is taking shots at Scheffler,
- 5:34he's pretty damn good because it doesn't matter what tournament
- 5:36it is and how impressive the other guys are, he's been just
- 5:40as impressive. Think about this.
- 5:42This guy is so good at this game.
- 5:46Think about this. How many championships, how many
- 5:49titles has Scheffler dominated in over the last couple of
- 5:53years? He's been not only the face of
- 5:56American golf, he's taking over for a guy, a champion in Tiger
- 6:01Woods. Tiger Woods has been one of the
- 6:02best golfers in the world and an American and they're trying to
- 6:07find the next guy, the next superstar.
- 6:09Well, ladies and gentlemen, they finally found it.
- 6:12And I, I think Scheffler stands for not just a superstar golfer,
- 6:16a guy that not, I mean, he's been in problem.
- 6:19He has had problems with the law.
- 6:21He's we've seen some of the video on and off the golf course
- 6:25on some of the things that he said and he's taken and he's
- 6:28attacked other players, other superstars from their
- 6:31respectable sports. I love what Scheffler stands for
- 6:35because he doesn't give a crap. He's going to come out there,
- 6:37he's going to play hard and that I'd say, I'd say that about Rory
- 6:40McIlroy. For years they were wondering
- 6:43who he was dating. What you know who.
- 6:46And and again, Rory McIlroy now is married.
- 6:49He's got kids, he's got a life. But before he got married before
- 6:53and and Rory McIlroy at some points of his career, I thought
- 6:56he was going to retire. I thought he was going to walk
- 6:58away from the game but slowly but surely has has become the
- 7:02superstar European player that we all thought he was going to
- 7:05become. He, he's been in just in very,
- 7:07very impressive. And I, I just, I am, I am
- 7:11surprised that Rory McIlroy didn't and hasn't gotten the
- 7:16respect after the last couple of years in his dominance winning
- 7:20majors like this. Yeah, it's one of those things
- 7:22where the Masters I think hindered him from being thought
- 7:25of in that same light with the other thing, because he had so
- 7:27much of A drought. He went with all all three of
- 7:30the other majors going on for a long time.
- 7:32He won a couple of majors right away, kind of started fast like
- 7:35you saw with Jordan Spieth and and Brooks Cap Gun, some of
- 7:39these other younger golfers that and he was steady, but only one
- 7:43certain majors. And I think now you're looking
- 7:45at the Masters, him getting comfortable with that kind of
- 7:47thing. You saw him be able to fend off
- 7:49a lot of those younger guys as a result, and there were a lot of
- 7:52good young ones in this tournament.
- 7:53You talk about Burns, you talk about Cameron Young.
- 7:54Cameron Young had one of the best third rounds on that day to
- 7:57tie McElroy. McElroy may have stumbled a bit,
- 7:59but he was due to level out at some point.
- 8:01A lot of these guys at the Augusta course especially,
- 8:04you're due to level out. And I think you look at the case
- 8:08of McElroy having that kind of thing last year when he stumbled
- 8:11down the stretch last year, Justin Rose, him and him and
- 8:14McElroy went for the playoff at the end of the year last year.
- 8:17And it was McElroy that was stumbling up until I think Rose
- 8:19had a bogey. And I think that's where you had
- 8:22that adversity sense. Scheffler, that was insane that
- 8:25final day, a -, 4 and some of those very difficult pots as it
- 8:28was, he was right there with him the whole way.
- 8:31And I think with Mcelroy's case, he just was able to do enough
- 8:35with not having to have a bogey until the end.
- 8:37And that's makes a big difference with the adversity
- 8:39wise. And you're right now being up
- 8:41there, 6 European, six titles for a European guy tie for the
- 8:44most in history. He definitely has to be up there
- 8:45with those greats. Obviously not the greatest ever,
- 8:47like Nicholas or Tiger Woods or anything like that, but he's
- 8:50definitely in that next year. Yeah, I think as I had mentioned
- 8:55earlier, I want to bring to the attention to the audience that I
- 9:00actually called Ward to actually win this.
- 9:02He he actually went out, had a crazy experience in regards to
- 9:08how he actually played on that that last day and whatnot.
- 9:10So I think Roy is pretty, he's the modern day kind of Michael,
- 9:15modern day goat now, you know, I mean, I obviously he hadn't won
- 9:18since 2014 and but I think he has stamped his legacy with this
- 9:22master win. I think he went in kind of
- 9:26overwhelm and fatigue, you know, for the past, what, 10 years or
- 9:29so, it's been kind of, you know, difficult for him.
- 9:31You've been getting there, but it just haven't been able to
- 9:33cross that edge. And they sealed the deal.
- 9:35And you can see it on that last put, as we show right here.
- 9:38It's just was a release of, you know, all that he'd been through
- 9:41and all that physical, mental wear and tear that's being on
- 9:45this paint that it comes with. Plant in the master.
- 9:47I will say something when you look at that green jacket and
- 9:51everybody, if you watched Happy Gilmore, it was all about the
- 9:54gold jacket because they tried to make fun of the Masters and
- 9:57it's all about the jacket. How many jackets do you have?
- 10:00It's pretty impressive because the, the, who gets the trophy
- 10:05Now, how do they hand out the trophy?
- 10:07The, the champion the year before is supposed to hand the
- 10:10champion this year, the trophy and the jacket.
- 10:13Well, nobody handed him the trophy and nobody really should
- 10:16hand them the jacket because he won last year and it's very
- 10:20impressive. There's only three players
- 10:22besides him that's ever done it and Tiger Woods is one of them.
- 10:26Nicholas is the other. These arguably are the 2
- 10:29greatest golfers of all time. It's, it's really, really
- 10:32impressive. And he, he's one of, you know,
- 10:36and everybody thought Rory McIlroy was going to be that
- 10:38guy, But when he came into the PGA, there was a lot of
- 10:42questions. He really didn't develop.
- 10:43He had to, how many clubs did he have to change?
- 10:45There were so many things that he have to do.
- 10:48And and then everybody was worried about what who he was
- 10:50dating and, and, and it was that's what's that's the problem
- 10:54right now in professional sports is when you're when you become
- 10:57such a big face in the PGA and European golf, just like over
- 11:02there overseas, those soccer players are European football
- 11:05players, Messi and Ronaldo and Neymar.
- 11:08Everybody wants to know what there's those guys are going and
- 11:11what team they're going to be playing for in the future,
- 11:14because those guys are world renowned superstars, faces of
- 11:18the that sport. When you look at Rory McIlroy,
- 11:20how many foreign European players could say they're as big
- 11:25as Rory McIlroy? And the answer is not many.
- 11:28I mean, Rose is he's a European player.
- 11:31There's right on my Roses is a European player.
- 11:34Yeah. So he's a European player.
- 11:35Thank you, Speedy telling me where he's a European player.
- 11:39So when when you have European players that are trying to
- 11:42compete with those American players and and take the
- 11:45spotlight away from guys like Scheffler, who by the way,
- 11:47doesn't want the spotlight. He already came out and said I
- 11:51don't need the spotlight to play this game, this And he pretty
- 11:54much said this game comes easy to me.
- 11:56Family life is harder than this game.
- 11:58And that's very interesting when you see a player of that
- 12:01magnitude, a guy that makes the he makes the game so easy to
- 12:05watch. And you have guys like Rory
- 12:08McIlroy that's he's he loves the game more than more than
- 12:12anything in the world. Rory McIlroy is he's he lives on
- 12:17the the course he lives. He probably sleeps with his golf
- 12:20clubs. I mean.
- 12:22He's the standard, yeah. He's the.
- 12:23Standard for European golf. I mean, it's, it's very, very
- 12:27impressive what he has done. You know what I saw?
- 12:29I watched most of that last round, Errol, I usually don't
- 12:32catch like the whole round, but it was real fascinating because
- 12:34Rory lost the lead early. He had the tie of the lead and
- 12:37he started off a little slow. Rose actually took the lead for
- 12:40a little bit. And Rose was would have been the
- 12:42second oldest guy ever to win if he did at 45.
- 12:46So that was that was an interesting storyline for a
- 12:48little bit. And Scheffler, Scheffler wasn't
- 12:50even close in the standings for most of the day.
- 12:53He just plays that. And you said it, Errol, like
- 12:56that Workman, like, you know, he just goes out his business.
- 12:59He was a little bit lower. So he got on the course ahead of
- 13:01the last group. So it actually benefited his
- 13:03style play where he didn't have that attention of being in that
- 13:06last grouping. And he just got to play a very
- 13:09quiet. It was a really quiet -4 type of
- 13:12a round. And by the way, it fell, he just
- 13:15ended up in second because everyone else was trying to
- 13:17catch Rory and he just played it.
- 13:19He didn't have to try to catch him.
- 13:20He was just trying to be steady because he knew if he got into
- 13:23the clubhouse, maybe he'd be able to get into a playoff.
- 13:25But Chef. But Rory was in control.
- 13:28By the time we got to like the 7th or 8th hole, he was in
- 13:30control of that last round completely.
- 13:32It was awesome to watch. Golf it, you have to be
- 13:34consistent if you want to win. You got to go through four days
- 13:37of grueling weather. I mean, we've seen Masters in in
- 13:41in rain, it's wet, it's disgusting out.
- 13:44You got to know the greens and we've seen guys have two really
- 13:48good rounds and then the third round completely fall off and
- 13:50they're horrible and that cost them a championship.
- 13:53Rory has been as consistent, especially in this tournament,
- 13:58since we've seen Tiger Woods do this.
- 14:00I mean, it's, it's pretty incredible when you look at the
- 14:03type of player that he has become and who did he look up to
- 14:06when he came into the PGA? It was Tiger Woods.
- 14:08Everybody looked up to Tiger Woods because of the type of
- 14:11star he became a a world renowned superstar.
- 14:15And, and, and to believe it or not, when you look at Tiger
- 14:18Woods, Tiger Woods couldn't handle the cameras on him and
- 14:22being the superstar. Why?
- 14:24Because look at the things that he has dealt with over the last
- 14:26couple of years, over the last 15 years.
- 14:29And I would say this, Rory Mackel Roy has been up and down
- 14:33when it comes to the media. He, we have seen some bad things
- 14:37about Rory McIlroy handling the media and we've seen some great
- 14:40things. The fact that he has
- 14:42transitioned and, and, and it's helped him grow as a golfer.
- 14:45Because most guys, when you're looked at as the king, the up
- 14:48and coming superstar in Europe and going to be the face of
- 14:52European golf and, and the PGA and you didn't really develop in
- 14:56the 1st 10 years of your career. Really it took him like 8 or 9
- 14:59years. It was this 9th or 10th year
- 15:02where he started to play a high level of golf.
- 15:06It's you were thought you would think that he was gonna walk
- 15:08away from golf. I remember when he was, a lot of
- 15:10people thought that he was gonna step away from the game of golf.
- 15:13It was too stressful. He didn't want to deal with it.
- 15:16It got him depressed, but I think marrying and and getting
- 15:20locked in and his career and his life and started becoming a man,
- 15:24he's been a completely different player on the golf course.
- 15:27It's it's been very, very impressive.
- 15:29You got to give him a lot of credit because a lot of people,
- 15:31a lot of athletes maybe couldn't handle that pressure and really
- 15:35couldn't transition into the player that Rory became.
- 15:38Yeah, it was also hard to repeat too.
- 15:39And a lot of different sports. You see this with Olympic sports
- 15:42and unless you're like a best of the best, like you see a lot of
- 15:44these cross country singer skiers or one of those distance
- 15:47sports with track, you don't usually see a lot of those
- 15:50Olympians repeat. And it's the same kind of
- 15:51pressure with GG is the hardest burden on your mental health
- 15:55more than anything else. You talk about sports psychology
- 15:57over the years. I took a class of it in college.
- 15:59Qi know you've probably had sports psychologists that have
- 16:01mentioned this to you that it's a different if it's a different
- 16:04case with an individual sport than a team sport.
- 16:05Now you have to rally your teammates, obviously.
- 16:07Q And I'm sure different ways to do it.
- 16:09All three teams that you played for, but still in golf, you
- 16:13don't have anyone like that outside of your caddy and your
- 16:14rest of your support system. And that's what gives McElroy a
- 16:17lot, a lot of credit, especially having the dotty, not Dodd, but
- 16:20down game he had on the third round.
- 16:22Yeah, you got to have, you got to be able to, you know, rally
- 16:24yourself, as you said, and golf by yourself.
- 16:27I mean, it can't can help you, but so much you still got to go
- 16:29out there and swing the club. But it's definitely a total
- 16:32different between that and a team game.
- 16:34But now shout out to Roy, man. I think he did well.
- 16:37They played very well and and I feel like, you know, the
- 16:41difference between him and Tiger is I think Tiger more so
- 16:43controlled the game when he had the lead and and, and he was
- 16:47pretty much chasing him the whole while versus Roy where he
- 16:50kind of, would, you know, end up making a couple mistakes here
- 16:53and there that, you know, sometimes catches up with him.
- 16:56So yeah, shout out to Roy for winning it back-to-back.
- 16:59Very well. I think it's been done one time
- 17:01there butt plug 4 times. It's been done four times. 3 * 3
- 17:07times yeah, three times. He's the 4th.
- 17:11He's the fourth player to do that.
- 17:13Jack Nicklaus I, I remember it was Tiger Woods and who was the
- 17:17other player, though? And Faldo.
- 17:18Those are the only three players.
- 17:20He's the fourth player to ever do it.
- 17:21It's not easy to do. I, I, I remember when Tiger was
- 17:25at the top of his game, he won all four majors, which in, in
- 17:28one year, In one year, which I don't, if I'm not mistaken, I
- 17:32don't think any player has ever done that before, which is very,
- 17:35very impressive. And that's what he's remembered
- 17:37as is is when he, when he was dominating at the top of his
- 17:40game. Nobody can catch up to him.
- 17:43Even Rory when he came into the PGA, they were all chasing him.
- 17:46He was so far ahead of everybody else.
- 17:49And we, we talk about all the great tournaments with him and
- 17:51Phil Mickelson, Lefty, when they went back and forth and, and
- 17:54when Lefty won, everybody was like, oh, he's better than
- 17:56Tiger. But Tiger Woods was like like
- 17:58500 points ahead of, you know, Phil McKesson.
- 18:01So it sports is, is so unique because when you look at these
- 18:05guys, when they, when they're young and they're up and coming
- 18:08and they're so talented and they come up and they're not the,
- 18:11the, the lead dog. They were the lead dog wherever
- 18:14they were playing or their college or whatever, the playing
- 18:17junior, junior, junior hockey or junior basketball, whatever the
- 18:21hell they were doing, they were that dominant.
- 18:23When you step with with the professionals, when you're
- 18:26stepping with guys that are just as good as you or better than
- 18:29you, it's a completely different ball game.
- 18:31Think about it. Q When you look at you, what you
- 18:33did in college football, you were one of the best pass
- 18:36rushers in the country. You are one of the best.
- 18:39I saw you on sports science. Everybody was looking at you as
- 18:42a top mid first round draft pick.
- 18:44The Jets drafted you and we all know what The Jets did to you.
- 18:47But what you did North Carolina, there were two other players
- 18:51that were you were compared to Julius Peppers, who's one of the
- 18:54greatest pass rushers, and Lawrence Taylor.
- 18:57Think about it, two of the greatest pass rushers of all
- 19:01time. They were comparing you 2 before
- 19:03you stepped on an NFL football field.
- 19:05I mean, that's if that's not pressure, I don't know what is.
- 19:08There's another one that just went to number one overall pick,
- 19:10Mario Williams, so it was from North Carolina.
- 19:11As well. Yeah, right, right, right down
- 19:13the road as well. Yeah.
- 19:14So that that person is, is it's undescribable in a sense, you
- 19:19know, because it's, it's really you really taking on the fact
- 19:22that you're playing versus your own legacy and you also playing
- 19:26up to the expectations and height that comes around you.
- 19:29And although sometimes you don't buy into the height, you still
- 19:32hear the height. So to be able to go out there
- 19:34and perform at a high level and then you also have to take on,
- 19:38you know, the the other team basically game planning against
- 19:42you. And if you don't know how to
- 19:43adjust it, that that can impact your game.
- 19:45Not to say that you don't have the talent, but it could just
- 19:47impact your game at a different level.
- 19:49So I understand, especially in an individual sports such as
- 19:52golf, you know, you got the weather, you got, you know, all
- 19:54those fans that's outside the rope, those different things
- 19:57that that the stakes are very high.
- 19:59And so you just chasing greatness and it's it's a.
- 20:03Indescribable pressure that comes upon you whenever you have
- 20:05to do that. When I was, and again, everybody
- 20:08asked me how did I get myself into this industry?
- 20:10Everybody wants to know what pushed me to drive myself.
- 20:14And I would say guys like Mike Francesa, Chris Russo, big name
- 20:18guys that were the faces of New York sports.
- 20:21And I look at Mike Francesa and I look at his achievements and
- 20:24his goals. Now he's into podcasting.
- 20:26But I knew in 2012, 2013, the industry was going to change.
- 20:31So I had to catch these guys, had to catch patch up, and I
- 20:34wanted to be the driving force of this industry.
- 20:37And I'm still trying and figuring out what makes me
- 20:40different from all these other guys and what makes me better.
- 20:43And one of the things I could say is I don't compare myself to
- 20:47Mike Francesa or McAfee or any of these superstar guys that are
- 20:50doing and are working to strive to be the best in this industry.
- 20:54What I compare myself is, is that I have guys that I look up
- 20:57to and but I want to be considered different.
- 21:00I don't want to ever be considered.
- 21:02Well, like you, when I look at Lawrence Taylor, I look at
- 21:05Julius Pepper because what happens is is when you
- 21:07breakthrough, they're comparing you to those guys automatically.
- 21:12You, you're being compared to two of the greatest pass rushers
- 21:16of this age, the era, greatest of all time and you that puts a
- 21:21lot of pressure on you. Some people can handle pressure
- 21:24and others cannot. I believe I can handle the
- 21:27pressure, but I don't want to be considered.
- 21:28Hey, that's that's the next my Francesco.
- 21:30That's the next Chris Russo or that's the next, the next crazy
- 21:34Craig Cardin that has an understanding of what sports is.
- 21:36I don't want anybody to compare me to anything because it what
- 21:39to me. I not that the pressure bothers
- 21:42me. It's it's just the fact that I
- 21:44don't want to be considered one of those guys.
- 21:46I want to be Errol Marx. I want to be the loud, crazy,
- 21:50rambunctious idiot that knows sports.
- 21:53That's what I want people to to, to consider me.
- 21:55And I think that when you look at Rory McIlroy, the first thing
- 21:59people were comparing them to when he walked on a PGA Tour was
- 22:03Tiger Woods. He's the European Tiger Woods.
- 22:05He's the face of European golf. Nobody wants to have that
- 22:10pressure. Nobody wants to take that
- 22:11pressure on. Think about what Tiger Woods,
- 22:13his son, is dealing with. Everybody is saying how great
- 22:17this kid is. He's up and coming.
- 22:19He's going to be the face of the PGA in the future.
- 22:22It looks like his father. He plays like his father, but is
- 22:26he his father? Nobody's going to be his father.
- 22:29His father transition the game of GG is what it is today
- 22:34because of Tiger Woods. No.
- 22:35And I love Jack Nicklaus. I I didn't get a chance to
- 22:38really watch him at his high at a high level, because when he
- 22:41was playing at a high level, it was early 80s and the 70s.
- 22:44I wasn't alive. But what I do know about what he
- 22:47did for golf, he drove Tiger Woods and his father mad because
- 22:52who are they chasing? What are they chasing?
- 22:55They're chasing the greatest golfer, the the title champion,
- 22:59the guy that stood good for everything for American golf,
- 23:02and that's Jack Nicklaus. That's the thing.
- 23:04When you're pressured and you put yourself in a situation,
- 23:07sometimes you don't start off strong.
- 23:08Sometimes you never get to that point or never get to that
- 23:11position because you feel, look at Ronnie James.
- 23:15Ronnie James got into the NBA because of who his dad is.
- 23:18He was drafted in the second round by the Lakers.
- 23:21Why? Because the lake, he told the
- 23:23Lakers. You draft my son?
- 23:24No. He had generation time.
- 23:26He had generation time. Who I can't let you do, Ronnie,
- 23:29I can't let you. Generational.
- 23:30Time Generational. Time really 2.
- 23:32Points have you seen him in the last in the last five games?
- 23:35What I will say about the greatest part is we're really
- 23:38kidding here. We're gonna do it.
- 23:40We're gonna do it. But listen, the part about the
- 23:42greatness is that if you have any type of comparison or
- 23:45similarity to someone, they're gonna always.
- 23:47Not comparable. To people are gonna always say
- 23:49that, huh? He's not comparable to his
- 23:51father, not even close. By far, yeah.
- 23:54Explosion. The way you get to the basket,
- 23:56Yeah. Dude, are we watching?
- 23:57This doesn't look the same. It doesn't look the same.
- 23:59It doesn't look the same. I'll let you finish what you're
- 24:01saying. I'll let you finish.
- 24:02I'm gonna. Kill you on this.
- 24:04I'm gonna kill you on this. Go ahead.
- 24:06Yeah, OK, go ahead. All right.
- 24:07So, yeah. So with greatness, you know, you
- 24:10have a similarity. People are gonna always compare
- 24:12you. But what you have to remind
- 24:13yourself is that you don't have to be that person.
- 24:16You're gonna always be unique. You're gonna always show the
- 24:19unique talent that you have and what you bring to the table.
- 24:22So I think a lot of the times people guys get caught up with
- 24:25trying to emulate the person that they're comparing
- 24:27themselves to instead of just understanding that you only have
- 24:31the glimpse of it and you are creating your own destiny within
- 24:34the sport that you're in. Are you done?
- 24:36Let's go, let's go. Let's talk about Bernie though,
- 24:37yeah? I'm cool.
- 24:39OK, so you just said that. What?
- 24:42His talent and his generational generational talent.
- 24:46This kid is averaging 2.9 points per game, 0.6 rebounds per game,
- 24:51and 1.2 assists a game. It doesn't matter what Brawny
- 24:55James does for his future. He made his money because of who
- 24:59his father is and I'm sorry he's 6 foot 2 to brought for LeBron
- 25:05who's 68 built like a truck and this kids built like a Weiner.
- 25:09I mean I I don't even know. I think he could fit a bun more
- 25:12than his father could, because I would rather eat the bun than
- 25:15the Weiner. Honestly, this guy stinks.
- 25:18He's really bad. His talent, Yeah, he's got some
- 25:22talent, NBA talent. If he has such great NBA talent,
- 25:26why did 30 something teams pass up on him?
- 25:29Why did everybody, if the Lakers didn't draft him, everybody said
- 25:33he was going to be an undrafted player playing in the G League
- 25:35for the rest of his life, and you're going to tell me he's
- 25:37generational? Please nobody.
- 25:40Nobody would be. Playing him no dog, nobody
- 25:43would. Be playing.
- 25:44Him. No, I didn't finish.
- 25:46I didn't finish. I'm going to say this.
- 25:48You, you cut me off. And now I lost my train of
- 25:50thought. I'm sorry.
- 25:50All right, here. Here's here's what I'm going to
- 25:53say. If he was so good, why did it
- 25:57have to? Why did it take multiple players
- 26:00to get hurt to play him as much as he's playing right now?
- 26:03Nobody wanted this kid. The Lakers probably don't want
- 26:07him on this. And as a matter of fact, I'm
- 26:09going to predict this. When LeBron decides to go to
- 26:12Cleveland next year or Dallas or New York, wherever he decides to
- 26:15go, I'm going to tell you this. He's going to take Brownie James
- 26:18with him because the Lakers don't want him.
- 26:20The Lakers never wanted this kid.
- 26:23Never wanted this kid. Those stories coming out,
- 26:27Stephen A Smith wasn't lying about that.
- 26:29You think he was lying about that?
- 26:31Stephen A. Smith, are you agree with
- 26:33Stephen? AI agree absolutely.
- 26:35The one thing I've agreed with Stephen A Smith 100% if you read
- 26:39my story, which I sent to you all the time, which maybe you're
- 26:43not proofreading it or you're just sitting there claiming that
- 26:46you're reading it. Yes, Stephen A Smith.
- 26:48The one thing I would agree about Stephen A Smith is this
- 26:51Bronny James, LeBron James. Why do you think they have so
- 26:53much beef? They have so much beef is
- 26:56because Stephen A Smith took shots at his son and said the
- 27:00truth, told him the truth. He doesn't say.
- 27:03I'm not saying Stephen A Smith doesn't tell the truth, but some
- 27:05of the truth is just out of outlandishly crazy.
- 27:07But he's not wrong about this. There's a better chance of Bryce
- 27:12James being somewhat of a talent like his father because he's
- 27:16actually 6-7 and he's closer to his father's size than LeBron.
- 27:21I'm sorry Brownie Junior who thinks that because of who his
- 27:25father isn't because he who's he dating or what TMZ cameras going
- 27:29to follow him. I mean this guy got an
- 27:31endorsement. This guy got $3,000,000 of an
- 27:33endorsement money because of who his father was.
- 27:36He is the highest paid second round draft pick ever.
- 27:41Ever. Why?
- 27:43You're going to tell me he's better than Yokich?
- 27:45You're going to tell me he's better than Yokich?
- 27:47Yes, Nicola Yokich. If he was in the right system.
- 27:51Oh stop. Right system.
- 27:52Oh my God, dude, he can play in pee wee basketball.
- 27:55He wouldn't be in the right system.
- 27:56Nicola Yokich could play better with one eye blindfolded and
- 27:59it's just his left. Hand you're you're out of your
- 28:01mind, Mitchell. Mitchell Robinson is a way
- 28:04better second round draft pick than him.
- 28:07No way. Yes, yes, yes, way.
- 28:09He's developing it, but he's developed well in New York.
- 28:12But Ronnie is still in the development phase.
- 28:15That's what I'm trying to tell you.
- 28:16You're judging him as if and he had to come in.
- 28:18I didn't say he was coming in like his his father.
- 28:21I'm telling you that he's showing glimpse of it and that's
- 28:24what I'm saying. That's the problem that you're
- 28:25missing. You're comparing him to his
- 28:28father's first year and 2nd year versus comparing him for where
- 28:32he's at. If he can't get in the game,
- 28:34guess what? He can't score.
- 28:35So he's not ready, if he hasn't developed yet, to get to the
- 28:39place that he needs to beat. He got drafted in the second
- 28:40round for a reason. I know you don't.
- 28:42You hate the, you know. Yeah, because the bus Bus
- 28:50drafted him in the second round period.
- 28:52Now, whether you like it or not, it doesn't matter.
- 28:55But Ronnie. I'm.
- 28:57I'm trying to get my take. Can I get my take?
- 28:59You said a lot of things, that is.
- 29:00Outlandish. You did too, and I didn't.
- 29:03No, I. Haven't.
- 29:04Right. So fact Diddy Buss drafted him
- 29:06in the second round and paid him that money, but yet you're still
- 29:09blaming LeBron James in regards to why he's on the roster.
- 29:13And that's just not true. He played a game, he played in
- 29:17college. He needed to be developed
- 29:19because he got remember he got he had a heart situation, right
- 29:22correct. Remember that all right so then
- 29:24he he sat out then he got drafted.
- 29:27Now you got to go to the development phase.
- 29:28Hold on, not going to be hold on, hold on.
- 29:31He was. Averaging he was averaging 2.8
- 29:33points per game before the heart situation he had he States and
- 29:39very young. This guy was one of the most
- 29:42overrated players in high school.
- 29:44As a matter of fact, when he was his father decided to go and
- 29:48play for the Lakers because he wanted his son or sons to play
- 29:52for one of the best private schools in the country.
- 29:54You know why? Because there was no way anybody
- 29:56was going to follow this kid because he was undersized and he
- 29:59wasn't any good. And you're going to come out
- 30:01here and you're going to tell me right now that Ronnie James
- 30:05needs a little bit time to develop to develop into what?
- 30:08He's an undersized so-called shooting guard.
- 30:11OK, That's what he is a 6/2. How many shooting guards do we
- 30:15know in the NBA that has become elite at the at six two.
- 30:20Who doesn't have a shot, by the way, Ronnie, they can't shoot a
- 30:22ball. How do you think that dude, he
- 30:25is a horrible shooter. Drew Holiday is.
- 30:28Here's a one. Here's a one.
- 30:31No, you're telling me something that's ridiculous.
- 30:33I love this Brawny debate. You know that there was an
- 30:36interesting thing that came out Brawny tried to get a trademark
- 30:39for B9 with his jersey number and he got denied because of a
- 30:44Back 9 golfing company. That's where Bronny's status is
- 30:48at right now. He can't even get his name
- 30:50trademarked because of some golf clubs.
- 30:53It's during the Masters. It's it's golf.
- 30:55During the. Come on.
- 31:00Are you really pitching Bronny James to us?
- 31:03I'm just telling you, I know. I just think you're beating them
- 31:05up. I'm not pitching them.
- 31:06You are think you're beating them up for no reason, dude.
- 31:09And I think he has more value than what you're.
- 31:11Doing his career, his career as a college player and NBA player,
- 31:15he averages all together one point 9 points per game and less
- 31:19than a rebound a game. So you're going to tell me that
- 31:21Bronnie James is any good? Please.
- 31:23I mean, those numbers are at least twice as good as Stephen A
- 31:27Smiths college numbers. So I mean.
- 31:30You're quoting him, He's better. You quoting him and you quoting
- 31:33him. Yeah, quick too.
- 31:34Like I said before the private chat, it happens twice a year.
- 31:37Arrow will agree with Stephen A Smith on something.
- 31:39It's probably 1 of very few things I agree with him and and
- 31:43just think the problem between Stephen A Smith and LeBron James
- 31:47is because of the argument of his son because he didn't like
- 31:51how Stephen A Smith attacked his son on his show.
- 31:54Well, really. Well, don't be telling people
- 31:57that they should that the Lakers should be in and and better
- 32:01draft Bronny James. And that's what he did.
- 32:03He threaten the Lakers because he's LeBron James.
- 32:06The LJA. He threatened the Lakers that he
- 32:09better draft him in the second round.
- 32:11They were a lot of people were thinking that the Lakers were
- 32:14going to find a way and reach to draft him in the first round or
- 32:17try to move up in the first round because LeBron was afraid
- 32:19that somebody was going to sneak in who was going to sneak him.
- 32:22OK, see, nobody wants that kid. Nobody wants Ronnie James.
- 32:28Nobody. Did you have a bet with Keith
- 32:29that he wouldn't go in the 1st? Round dude I yes and I won I.
- 32:32Know people really thought he was going to be be taken in the
- 32:34first round that year. I don't know what they were
- 32:36thinking. They're out of their minds.
- 32:39Out of their minds. You should.
- 32:41Have. Ronnie certainly isn't winning
- 32:43anything, but there's a hometown team that you wrote an article
- 32:46about that might. All right, ladies and gentlemen,
- 32:49I call this all righty then. Oh, righty then all.
- 32:54Righty all, righty all. Righty.
- 32:59Here we are. All righty then guys, welcome
- 33:03back to Errol's literary segment.
- 33:05If you haven't been following worldwidesportsradio.com or
- 33:09following us on Reddit, then you don't know that Errol is also a
- 33:13very acclaimed author. Our website, which gets around
- 33:151/4 of a million people come into it every month as of last
- 33:19month, crushing it. You get to see all of Errol's
- 33:21articles, all the clips from the show and you know, some of our
- 33:25other interns and some of our other writers associated with NR
- 33:28Media, Nitin Ramachandras PR company.
- 33:31That don't don't forget about John from Queens.
- 33:33He's. Doing and John from Queens, John
- 33:35Pagnotta also another really good writer from us.
- 33:38We got some more guys I write every once in a while too.
- 33:41But this article, the New York Knicks are the topic of choice
- 33:45now with the playing games. We're going to be talking about
- 33:47those in a minute. The Knicks are the ones that
- 33:51have the nice three seed set up for them and Errol wrote an
- 33:54article the New York Knicks built for a championship or a
- 33:58Magic show where everyone disappears.
- 34:00I'm going to read an excerpt to the article.
- 34:02There are comments in Reddit that all of our listeners and
- 34:05fans are commenting on. If you would like your comment
- 34:08read on the show, please comment on these articles through our
- 34:12Reddit. Right off the bat, here's a
- 34:14picture of the King himself, Jalen Brunson.
- 34:16Here's the article. The question every New York fan
- 34:19is asking right now. Are the Knicks actually ready
- 34:22for a playoff run? Or are we just waiting for
- 34:25President Leon Rose to speed dial Milwaukee like he's
- 34:29ordering late night pizza? For Giannis and Ted.
- 34:31Akuho, because let's be honest, if this team flames out before
- 34:34the Finals, Rose is absolutely sitting there like, hello,
- 34:38Milwaukee. Yeah, you guys like Draft picks,
- 34:41Role players in my emotional stability, The Brunson and Towns
- 34:45experiment. Championship duo or defensive
- 34:49traffic cones? The entire season's revolved
- 34:51around the duo, Jalen Brunson and Karl Anthony Towns
- 34:54offensively, electric defensively.
- 34:57Let's just say opposing guards are walking into the paint like
- 35:00it's a Costco sample aisle. Can you win a championship when
- 35:04two of your best players treat defense like it's an optional
- 35:06DLC? Run gives you 30, Town gives you
- 35:1025, Opponents give you 135. That's not a formula, that's a
- 35:15track me. This might legitimately be the
- 35:18first Knicks duo in history where fans say, wow, they scored
- 35:2270 combined. How did they lose by 12?
- 35:26And as you keep going, you see it's a great long article.
- 35:28We got Josh Hart in there, the disappearing magicians, you know
- 35:31now you see him now you don't OG Ananobi, Mikhail Bridges.
- 35:35Some nights they look like elite two way stars.
- 35:37Other nights you check the box score and say wait, did they
- 35:40play? Did they call out sick?
- 35:42Are they in witness protection? You'll see two points, 1
- 35:45rebound, 0 aggression, 36 minutes of cardio.
- 35:49This roster has too many players that disappear offensively and
- 35:54in the playoffs that gets goes fast because playoff basketball
- 35:58isn't someone step up, it's you better step up or you're going
- 36:03home speedy. All right, first comment is from
- 36:06BV 0198. Most likely the starting lineup
- 36:09will be blown up trading Cat and either one of OG or Bridges.
- 36:12Brown is most likely one more chance, unless they lose to
- 36:15queues Atlanta Hawks in the first round.
- 36:17I would agree with you. I think Brown is on the hot
- 36:20seat. Everybody thinks that Mike Brown
- 36:21is in. He's he's doing something that
- 36:23only Pat Riley has done as a New York Knick coach.
- 36:26So BV, I agree with you, but trading Cat or OG or Bridges,
- 36:32you got to make sure that this is going to work and you're not
- 36:35trading away big huge pieces for one player.
- 36:38Right now. The Knicks strength is their
- 36:40depth. You trade away your depth for
- 36:42one player. As good as Giannis is that could
- 36:46be that could spell trouble for the New York Knicks no matter
- 36:48who they bring in. They could bring, I don't know,
- 36:52Kobe Bryant, if you, if you were still an elite player, Michael
- 36:55Jordan, any one of these guys. If they're you lose the edge,
- 36:59you lose the talent that you have that has really brought
- 37:02this did Nick team into an elite status that could cost you a
- 37:06chance to winning a championship.
- 37:08Let's go to a Giannis comments Peas Porridge 90 old New York
- 37:12Knicks have been triggered in the Giannis chase, but he doubts
- 37:14Milwaukee want to bring back Cat or OG with Cat being 31 and OG
- 37:18being 29. OK, so peace.
- 37:21I could go back and forth with this whole Giannis thing.
- 37:24If the New York Knicks fall short, if they fall short, even
- 37:29if they go to a championship and they get completely bounced out
- 37:33by OKC, this team is not good enough to win that title.
- 37:37So what do you think this team is going to do?
- 37:40Well, they're going to trade for Giannis and they're going to try
- 37:43to add pieces that are going to help them to win.
- 37:46Giannis is definitely going to be the hot ticket in the
- 37:48offseason. It's the Knicks #1 target.
- 37:51And if it takes OG, Mikhail Bridges or Cat to move, that's
- 37:56what's going to happen. And I do.
- 37:57I do believe no matter what the Knicks do, if they don't win a
- 38:01championship, you're going to see at least two of these guys
- 38:04go Cat OG or McHale Bridges. Two out of the three guys are
- 38:08definitely going to be gone. All right, a little bit of a
- 38:10counter argument here. Blue Dog suit if they flame out
- 38:13again, somebody's taking the fall but blowing up the whole
- 38:15core a stretch. You don't trade OG or Bridges
- 38:17unless you're going to clear top five guy dot back.
- 38:20He does mention Giannis as being the most likely candidate, but
- 38:23still doesn't think the Knicks are the favorite for him, right?
- 38:24Now I absolutely believe the that the Knicks are the
- 38:27favorites. Here is the facts.
- 38:29Giannis was being looked out by the Timberwolves.
- 38:31They had enough pieces to move. The Timberwolves didn't get them
- 38:35and the Miami Heat and Miami and Pat Riley have always been known
- 38:38to go after superstars to bring there as they've done over the
- 38:42years and that's what's helped them win or at least get them
- 38:45into the finals and fail to win Jimmy Buckets.
- 38:47We all know the whole back end story.
- 38:50They are absolutely the lead and you do not want to trade OG and
- 38:53Bridges. You trade one or the other
- 38:56because what they do and they brought these two players in is
- 38:59to to defend against Jaylen Brown.
- 39:02And what's it, I'm sorry, Tatum, Jason Tatum, who is coming back
- 39:07from the injury? If you lose both of these guys,
- 39:10this effects their defense. Who's going to defend those two
- 39:12guys? Cat Yanis is A to me, he's an in
- 39:17box defender. That's what he does and he's a
- 39:19great rebounder. It doesn't make any sense.
- 39:21So I like your take, Blue, but I absolutely believe Giannis is is
- 39:26a favorite to go to the New York Knicks.
- 39:27All right, next 1 from 12 Doghouse 12 E 45.
- 39:30Time to blow it up. If they don't make the finals,
- 39:32how many times are going to be people are going to hold this
- 39:34team accountable before they fail once again?
- 39:37I agree with you dog. I think that the Knicks are
- 39:39going to be looking at this regular.
- 39:41I mean the what they did in the regular season at the tail end
- 39:44and what they do in the playoffs, the success of the
- 39:47playoffs, who they matched up against, how they dominate
- 39:50against those teams. Detroit is a team that even
- 39:53though they they've been one of the elite teams in all of the
- 39:55league this year, they're better than they lose against Detroit
- 39:58and in the second or third round in the the the NBA Eastern
- 40:04Conference Championship. The New York Knicks could look
- 40:07to move and and move superstar players like Cat and OG and
- 40:11Miguel. They're not going to treat Jalen
- 40:13Bronson. Maybe Josh Hart is on his way to
- 40:15go. I do believe that if the Knicks
- 40:17don't win a championship, they're going to blow it up no
- 40:20matter what. I expect them to blow it up.
- 40:22It's all about championship. A bus.
- 40:24Their window is here, They have a three-year window.
- 40:27NBA teams have a three to four year window and we're going into
- 40:30Year 3 with this window. All right last one from several
- 40:33molasses 435 Mike Brown should be on the hot seat.
- 40:36They need to make trades. This core has a second round.
- 40:38Stealing Brunson is not good enough to win, and he thought
- 40:41the Celtics got The Knicks got lucky because the Celtics just
- 40:44beat themselves shooting too many threes.
- 40:45Several. I here's the thing, Bronson is
- 40:49good enough to win, but you cannot have two of your best
- 40:52players not defending their positions, point guard.
- 40:57And I would say Jalen Bronson is a top three-point guard right
- 40:59now in the league. And then you have Cat, who's one
- 41:02of the best offensive big man in the league.
- 41:04You could argue the best offensive big man in the league.
- 41:07We have two guys that can play 1 dimensional basketball offense
- 41:10and they don't really play a bona fide defensive style.
- 41:14You're looking at this team, can they win?
- 41:17I think they can win with Jaylen Bronson.
- 41:18I don't think they can win with Cat and Jaylen Bronson.
- 41:21And I do believe Mike Brown's in a hot seat.
- 41:23If the Knicks get knocked out in the first to second round, no
- 41:25matter how good of a season they are, a lot of people are going
- 41:29to say that Mike Brown is not going to win.
- 41:31And he's not the winning championship coach that they
- 41:34should have brought in especially yes, he's been he's
- 41:37played in the NBA title as an assistant and he hasn't been a
- 41:40coach with the Cavaliers and he's fall short.
- 41:43He did win with the Golden State Warriors and the Spurs.
- 41:46My problem here is can he do it as the lead guy?
- 41:49And I think a lot of fans are saying no matter how good he is
- 41:52in the regular season, can he take this team to the promised
- 41:54land And, and, and if he does, isn't going to fall short and
- 41:58not be able to handle the pressure that he has in New
- 42:01York. All right.
- 42:04Now I will say this, Speedy, you are, you've been horrible when
- 42:07it comes to the music. Get the music and actually
- 42:10somehow, if you want me to do that, I'll mix it because it
- 42:14shouldn't be jumping from one thing to another and not be able
- 42:17to go from the song. It doesn't make any sense.
- 42:19It's been horrible. So if you need some help over
- 42:22there, I can help you. Just like your picture.
- 42:24I want to let everybody know Speedy was so worried about what
- 42:28was going on in the other show before our show that he he
- 42:31didn't test his camera and that's why his camera is a
- 42:33little blurry tonight. So if anybody wants to ask me
- 42:36what's going on with Speedy's camera, it's him.
- 42:39It's the great Speedy PD who doesn't listen to me, who likes
- 42:43to argue his points, but argue his points in the wrong fashion.
- 42:47Because now tonight he looks stupid because I told him before
- 42:52the show to do this and do that, and he didn't listen to me.
- 42:54So for all you fans out there wondering if I'm a good leader,
- 42:58I'm a great leader. It's just we have soldiers that
- 43:02like to listen to himself. That's what he likes to.
- 43:05Do anyways, there's a lot of hate mail behind speeding.
- 43:07No, there's no hating. It's it's just facts.
- 43:09No, you don't get a lot of hate mail.
- 43:10No hate mail. Whatever it's, it's true, it's
- 43:13facts. Thank you to all the Spotify and
- 43:16Apple video and audio fans as we have been a top 30 show over the
- 43:21last 24 hours, 149th in the whole country.

- 44:23years, but all the guys. And almost 2 1/2 barrel, it's
- 44:27been even longer. Than whatever man we're.

- 44:44Hard. Anyways, you see, you see what I
- 44:46have to deal with? I mean, the arguing of Bronie
- 44:49James, that was enough to make me just sick to my stomach.
