- 0:01Speaker 1: Late General Man, welcome the late Debase.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, thanks for joining us.
- 0:09Speaker 3: I'm James Macpherson with Liz Storer and Joe Hildebrand coming up.
- 0:13Speaker 3: Should kids be allowed to go to the bathroom during
- 0:16Speaker 3: class time or should they be made to wait? Believe
- 0:19Speaker 3: it or not, that's a real controversy. We'll weigh into
- 0:21Speaker 3: it later. Plus, when we look at what's making news
- 0:24Speaker 3: in tomorrow's papers, there's a crackdown on voluntary assisted dying
- 0:28Speaker 3: drugs after a man accidentally ingested some, and a police
- 0:33Speaker 3: union under fire for ridiculing officers with PTSD. All of
- 0:37Speaker 3: that and a lot more coming up, but let's start
- 0:40Speaker 3: with the big news story of the day, and that,
- 0:42Speaker 3: of course, was the US presidential debate. Kamala Harris said
- 0:46Speaker 3: Donald Trump was a liar. Donald Trump said Kamala Harris
- 0:49Speaker 3: was incompetent and weak, and of course the ABC moderators
- 0:53Speaker 3: will they repeatedly fact checked Donald Trump while ignoring constant
- 0:57Speaker 3: myths truths from Kamala Harris.
- 1:01Speaker 4: President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent
- 1:04Speaker 4: crime is actually coming down in this country. But you
- 1:06Speaker 4: have said quote you lost by a whisker that you
- 1:09Speaker 4: quote didn't quite make it that you came up a
- 1:11Speaker 4: little bit short. You did bring up something, you said.
- 1:13Speaker 4: She went to negotiate with Vladimir Putin. Vice President Harris,
- 1:15Speaker 4: have you ever met Vladimir Putin?
- 1:18Speaker 5: Now?
- 1:18Speaker 3: When Donald Trump said that illegal immigrants were eating people's
- 1:22Speaker 3: cats and getting ducks from the local park in Ohio,
- 1:26Speaker 3: the Democratic staffers, by which I mean the ABC moderators,
- 1:30Speaker 3: they jumped in real quick.
- 1:33Speaker 1: In Springfield. They're eating the dogs, the people that came in,
- 1:37Speaker 1: They're eating the cats, They're they're eating the pets of
- 1:42Speaker 1: the people that live there.
- 1:44Speaker 4: ABC News did reach out to the city manager there.
- 1:47Speaker 4: He told us there have been no credible reports of
- 1:49Speaker 4: specific claims of pets being harmed, injured, or abused by
- 1:52Speaker 4: individuals within the immigrant community.
- 1:54Speaker 1: All seeing people on telligence, let me just say here,
- 1:56Speaker 1: this is the people on television. My dog was taken
- 1:59Speaker 1: and used for food.
- 2:02Speaker 3: And Trump, of course, was quite right. No matter what
- 2:04Speaker 3: the city manager is saying. There were regular reports in
- 2:07Speaker 3: the media of exactly what Trump had alluded to, including
- 2:11Speaker 3: this Springfield resident who told local authorities what he'd seen
- 2:14Speaker 3: with his own eyes.
- 2:16Speaker 6: They're in the park grabbing up ducks by the neck
- 2:20Speaker 6: and cutting their.
- 2:21Speaker 7: Head off and walking off with them.
- 2:22Speaker 8: It's eating them.
- 2:23Speaker 6: Like y'all get the Highway State patrol down here every week,
- 2:27Speaker 6: and then y'all get like a task was for the
- 2:29Speaker 6: Highway State Patrol.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Another local resident called nine to one one reporting that
- 2:35Speaker 3: geese were being taken to eat, and of course this
- 2:38Speaker 3: was reposted on Trump's socials with a wonderful graphic.
- 2:42Speaker 9: I'm riding on the trail going to my orientation from
- 2:46Speaker 9: my job today, and I see a group of Haitian people.
- 2:53Speaker 9: There was about four of them. They all had geese
- 2:57Speaker 9: in their hands. They got away. I couldn't make up
- 3:01Speaker 9: the first three in the license plate, but I got
- 3:04Speaker 9: the numbers. What direction did they go? They went up
- 3:09Speaker 9: towards And.
- 3:14Speaker 3: We'll give you one more example his police body cam footage.
- 3:18Speaker 3: They are arresting a woman who allegedly ate a cat.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I should point out this woman is apparently not an immigrant.
- 3:25Speaker 10: What did you do?
- 3:28Speaker 9: Why'd you kill the cat?
- 3:31Speaker 5: Smile for me?
- 3:35Speaker 9: I like that, did you eat that cat? Did you
- 3:40Speaker 9: eat it?
- 3:42Speaker 10: Now? Why'd you kill it?
- 3:44Speaker 9: Did you?
- 3:44Speaker 10: Guys see all this? No, we brought up and she
- 3:46Speaker 10: would just staying here with him.
- 3:50Speaker 5: She was eating it.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Yeah, So here we are, after one of the most
- 3:55Speaker 3: consequential debates in history, Liz talking about whether or not
- 3:58Speaker 3: immigrants are eating cats. Although the bigger point, of course
- 4:02Speaker 3: was that they fact checked.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Him real quick. But Trump was right.
- 4:05Speaker 3: There were reports in the media. As we've shown, we've
- 4:08Speaker 3: only shown a.
- 4:08Speaker 10: Few he yes and quite a few of the fact checks,
- 4:12Speaker 10: which by the way, were only ever leveled at Trump.
- 4:16Speaker 10: Kamala wasn't fact checked once, despite the fact that she
- 4:19Speaker 10: repeated hoaxes that have been debunked several times, pumped out
- 4:24Speaker 10: propaganda with the regularity of some kind of robot, and
- 4:28Speaker 10: would repeat lies even after Trump in the debate had
- 4:33Speaker 10: completely denied, say, the Project twenty five thing, which is
- 4:37Speaker 10: disavowed several times before the debate, kept bringing it up
- 4:41Speaker 10: even after he said, excuse me, I have nothing to
- 4:44Speaker 10: do with it. I've never endorsed it. That's not a
- 4:47Speaker 10: thing on the Trump train. Watching this today, a lot
- 4:50Speaker 10: of people were very excited and quite enamored by the
- 4:55Speaker 10: fact that Kamala did so well. I would argue she
- 4:58Speaker 10: didn't do so well, just that your expectations were so
- 5:02Speaker 10: low you were legitimately blown away. But we can stop
- 5:06Speaker 10: calling this debate and just call it an infomercial because
- 5:10Speaker 10: that's what it is. Everyone was like, Oh, Kamala was
- 5:13Speaker 10: actually so confident. It's easy to be confident when the
- 5:18Speaker 10: person in charge of the ABC is a very good
- 5:21Speaker 10: personal friend of yours. And it was very clear that
- 5:25Speaker 10: this debate was three against one when you include these moderators,
- 5:28Speaker 10: which did a horrendous job at hiding any bias. I
- 5:32Speaker 10: don't even think they were trying. Certainly that was very
- 5:36Speaker 10: very obvious. And yeah, I would have been confident if
- 5:41Speaker 10: I was Kamala too, knowing that the woman who set
- 5:43Speaker 10: me up with my now husband, that's how good of
- 5:46Speaker 10: friends her name is, Dana Walden, is at the ABC.
- 5:50Speaker 10: I would have been very confident too, knowing I was
- 5:53Speaker 10: in very safe hands.
- 5:55Speaker 6: I have no doubt that the moderators were sympathetic or
- 5:58Speaker 6: more sympathetic or towards Carmela. I have no doubt about
- 6:01Speaker 6: that whatsoever. And I also would agree certainly the Project
- 6:05Speaker 6: twenty five stuff has been on the public record. There's
- 6:08Speaker 6: been nothing actually linking it to Donald Trump, apart from
- 6:11Speaker 6: it a bunch of Republicans who would like to use
- 6:13Speaker 6: Trump to do what they want to do. Donald Trump
- 6:15Speaker 6: doesn't smart enough to know that he wants nothing to
- 6:17Speaker 6: do with him, told them to shut up to him,
- 6:19Speaker 6: to pack up shop, and Project.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Twenty five is no more.
- 6:21Speaker 6: There was another incorrect thing that has been around for
- 6:25Speaker 6: all the years long that Carmala Harris blew up was
- 6:28Speaker 6: when Donald Trump talked about the infamous there are fine
- 6:31Speaker 6: people on both sides about in Charlottesville. In fact, he
- 6:35Speaker 6: explicitly before he said that said I'm not talking about
- 6:38Speaker 6: the white supremacist. He's explicitly said, I'm not talking about
- 6:40Speaker 6: the white's prescesses. But there are other people on both
- 6:42Speaker 6: sides who are more traditional Southerners and the people on
- 6:45Speaker 6: the left.
- 6:46Speaker 10: And there was a blood mass reference.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Having said that, Donald Trump didn't need the help of
- 6:50Speaker 6: the moderators.
- 6:51Speaker 5: For the first thirty minutes of the.
- 6:52Speaker 6: Debate, he was wiping the floor with KRMLA, whose voice
- 6:56Speaker 6: was really scratchy. She sounded very nervous, inflected of nodding
- 7:00Speaker 6: or questioning herself, even after she was saying things, I
- 7:03Speaker 6: really believe that we have opportunity, and he had it,
- 7:08Speaker 6: but he fell for an old rope of dope trick.
- 7:11Speaker 6: She needled him about his rallies. She pricked his ego,
- 7:14Speaker 6: and he fell for it. And then suddenly he starts
- 7:16Speaker 6: talking as though he's at one of his rallies instead
- 7:18Speaker 6: of trying to win over undecided voters on a mainstream free.
- 7:22Speaker 5: To wear network. And that's where it all went wrong.
- 7:24Speaker 6: And in terms of what Trump actually said, it's absolute
- 7:29Speaker 6: crap unless someone is producing some incredible dossier that is
- 7:33Speaker 6: yet unto it. Firstly, he said they're eating the dogs, right,
- 7:36Speaker 6: he was talking about eating people's pet dogs, not ducks
- 7:38Speaker 6: in a park, not ducks on a pond. He said,
- 7:40Speaker 6: they're eating the dogs, quote unquote, they're eating the dogs.
- 7:43Speaker 6: That was the first thing he said. And then maybe
- 7:44Speaker 6: he realizes that he said the wrong thing, he starts
- 7:46Speaker 6: going on about cats. Now, the person who was allegedly
- 7:49Speaker 6: eating the cat, and apparently it would see him by
- 7:51Speaker 6: the police footage, just killed the cat.
- 7:53Speaker 5: So we're to assume that this is.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Someone who has just killed a cat and he's eating
- 7:57Speaker 6: it raw fur, and are in full view of her neighbors.
- 8:00Speaker 6: And we don't even think that she was born overseas.
- 8:03Speaker 6: She's actually a locally born American. So you know, go
- 8:05Speaker 6: us a what a country? What a country is really
- 8:08Speaker 6: kicking its own gods.
- 8:09Speaker 5: So there is that.
- 8:10Speaker 6: So even if she is eating at raw and fairy,
- 8:13Speaker 6: she's an American. That speaks to me of mental illness,
- 8:15Speaker 6: not illegal migration. And then you've got someone who says
- 8:18Speaker 6: that they saw someone taking some ducks and someone who
- 8:21Speaker 6: says that they saw someone saw someone taking some geese.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Now I don't know.
- 8:25Speaker 10: That is to assume there's no other illustrang He said that,
- 8:29Speaker 10: I've got people talking abouts just on the noons.
- 8:31Speaker 6: Does people come out and say that they've seen UFOs?
- 8:33Speaker 6: Do we just believe them until someone can prove that
- 8:35Speaker 6: there aren't, are you it's impossible to prove a negative properties.
- 8:40Speaker 10: You do not believe in aliens.
- 8:42Speaker 5: Believe I'd believe they are probably aliens.
- 8:44Speaker 6: I don't believe that they all mysteriously seem to land
- 8:47Speaker 6: among Southern United States residents.
- 8:49Speaker 3: The problem for Trump is he took the one thing
- 8:51Speaker 3: that you can absolutely.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And it's turned into it.
- 9:00Speaker 6: Right down this rabbit hole. And again he's on it,
- 9:02Speaker 6: and again I likened it to. You know, he's in
- 9:05Speaker 6: the middle of a chat about the economy. He's telling
- 9:07Speaker 6: her up on the economy, and we know the Republics
- 9:09Speaker 6: have a massive lead on the economy. He's in the
- 9:10Speaker 6: middle of bringing up illegal immigration every chance he gets,
- 9:13Speaker 6: and he does it, and she even says that he's
- 9:14Speaker 6: bringing up and then.
- 9:15Speaker 5: She brings it up, and he's got it all laid
- 9:17Speaker 5: out for him.
- 9:18Speaker 6: And because of one little prick to his ego about
- 9:20Speaker 6: his rallies, suddenly it just sets him off on this
- 9:23Speaker 6: sort of weird spiral and he goes running down a
- 9:25Speaker 6: rabbit hole. I don't know if he killed and ate
- 9:27Speaker 6: that rabbit lit. I don't know that was He goes
- 9:29Speaker 6: running down that rabbit hole, and he lost the momentum
- 9:32Speaker 6: for the rest of debate, and it was a real
- 9:33Speaker 6: shame and it shows what happens when Donald Trump goes
- 9:35Speaker 6: cray cray instead of just staying on.
- 9:38Speaker 10: Okay, that's one take.
- 9:40Speaker 6: I agree, Where is that any dog?
- 9:44Speaker 10: The dog park was absolutely hilarious and as far as
- 9:48Speaker 10: I'm concerned, a Trump stroke of genius. We're having a
- 9:51Speaker 10: lot of fun with the door. Check out the picture
- 9:53Speaker 10: that he shared on his own trunk social basically being like,
- 9:58Speaker 10: I'm here to save your pets, peeple, all the cats,
- 10:01Speaker 10: the geese, they're all bored. Air Force one with may
- 10:04Speaker 10: I well protect them. Trump is a troll. You cannot
- 10:09Speaker 10: underestimate his troll like ability. These memes have been taking
- 10:14Speaker 10: the Internet by storm four days long prior to this debate,
- 10:19Speaker 10: and he decided to go for it. I don't believe
- 10:21Speaker 10: for a minute it was because, oh his ego was burst. No,
- 10:24Speaker 10: he saw an opportunity. People have been losing their minds
- 10:29Speaker 10: over it. It's got him in headlines across the world.
- 10:33Speaker 2: That happens will be thrilled with that. We all think
- 10:36Speaker 2: so funny.
- 10:37Speaker 3: But swinging voters are under sided voters, swinging voters.
- 10:42Speaker 10: At the end, I think the takeaway from this debate
- 10:45Speaker 10: is very little has changed. All the Democrat voters will say, oh,
- 10:49Speaker 10: Carmalo absolutely a viscerated Trump, wasn't she wonderful? All the
- 10:53Speaker 10: Trump supporters will say, that was three against one. This
- 10:57Speaker 10: is our anti establishment man we support, brought him all
- 11:00Speaker 10: the way to the hill. It's another fact check that
- 11:03Speaker 10: proved out to be completely incorrect. On behalf of Best Friend,
- 11:08Speaker 10: ABC moderator David Muir was pulling Trump up on what
- 11:12Speaker 10: he had to say about abortion. Of course, this was
- 11:15Speaker 10: always going to be raised. It's a massive part of
- 11:18Speaker 10: the policy platform the Dems keep hammering. He was asked
- 11:23Speaker 10: about it, and he raised the very serious issue as
- 11:26Speaker 10: we have been discussing recently here in Australia, of babies
- 11:30Speaker 10: born alive post abortion. Here it is they even have.
- 11:35Speaker 1: And you can look at the governor of West Virginia,
- 11:37Speaker 1: the previous governor of West Virginia. Not the current governor's
- 11:40Speaker 1: doing an excellent job, but the governor before he said,
- 11:44Speaker 1: the baby will be born and we will decide what
- 11:47Speaker 1: to do with the baby. In other words, we'll execute
- 11:49Speaker 1: the baby.
- 11:50Speaker 4: There is no state in this country where it is
- 11:52Speaker 4: legal to kill a baby after it's born.
- 11:54Speaker 10: Man of Vice President, want to get your response to
- 11:56Speaker 10: President Trump.
- 11:57Speaker 11: Well, as I said, you're going to hear a bunch
- 11:58Speaker 11: of lies and that it's not actually a surprising fact.
- 12:03Speaker 10: Except that it wasn't a lie at all. Here's the
- 12:06Speaker 10: footage in twenty nineteen of the former West Virginian governor
- 12:11Speaker 10: saying exactly that.
- 12:13Speaker 12: In this particular example, if a mother is in labor,
- 12:16Speaker 12: I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant
- 12:20Speaker 12: would be delivered, the infant would be kept comfortable, the
- 12:24Speaker 12: infant would be resuscitated. If that's what the mother and
- 12:28Speaker 12: the family desired, and then a discussion would ensue between
- 12:31Speaker 12: the physicians and the mother. So I think this was
- 12:34Speaker 12: really blown out of proportion.
- 12:37Speaker 10: In twenty eight states in America, abortion is legal up
- 12:41Speaker 10: to what they call fetal viability, which means the point
- 12:45Speaker 10: at which a baby can survive outside the womb. But
- 12:50Speaker 10: of course that's very subjective, isn't it, And much like
- 12:55Speaker 10: here in Australia, No it is, Joe, it is because
- 12:59Speaker 10: some people would argue that's about twenty four weeks. Others
- 13:02Speaker 10: say no, no, it's a lot later than that.
- 13:04Speaker 6: He have a number of medical opinions, a number of
- 13:07Speaker 6: obstitutions saying saying, okay, this fetus can now survive. Therefore,
- 13:13Speaker 6: like it's not just a matter of like a matter
- 13:15Speaker 6: of medical opinion, if you like, I wouldn't call it subjective.
- 13:18Speaker 10: Medical opinion very heavily as to whether that doctor is
- 13:22Speaker 10: pro abortion or not. As we've heard in our own Senate,
- 13:26Speaker 10: at least one baby a week is born in this
- 13:29Speaker 10: country post abortion, alive and left to die like a dog.
- 13:35Speaker 10: So we'd be stupid to believe in a country the
- 13:37Speaker 10: size of America that's not happening. As well, that's what
- 13:40Speaker 10: the governor was talking about back in twenty nineteen. That
- 13:44Speaker 10: is the exact quote that Trump gave, and yet he
- 13:48Speaker 10: was slapped down and corrected and made to look like
- 13:50Speaker 10: a liar. So here we have a second instance in
- 13:54Speaker 10: this debate where he's made out to look like this
- 13:56Speaker 10: crazy flog who's just saying these unsubstantial claims. Kamala acts
- 14:02Speaker 10: completely shocked, of course, when Trump then asked her, when
- 14:06Speaker 10: would you say that we cut off access to abortion?
- 14:10Speaker 10: Would you say eight months? Would you say, where are
- 14:12Speaker 10: you going to draw the line? She laughed. She couldn't answer.
- 14:16Speaker 10: She's not going to touch that with a ten foot poll, now,
- 14:18Speaker 10: is she? Because she's all about reproductive rights, and God forbid,
- 14:22Speaker 10: women across the board aren't allowed to kill their unborn children.
- 14:26Speaker 10: I thought it was a very powerful moment in the debate,
- 14:29Speaker 10: and I think it's very important that this is highlighted
- 14:33Speaker 10: to people. Obviously we won't have the millions of viewers
- 14:36Speaker 10: that the debate is, but that Trump was not lying
- 14:39Speaker 10: and that is taking place in America just like it's taking.
- 14:42Speaker 6: Don't I don't know if it is taking place if
- 14:44Speaker 6: you look at the actual full clip, and I don't
- 14:46Speaker 6: know the background to that full clip of the former
- 14:48Speaker 6: governor of West Virginia or Virginia, whatever it is. He
- 14:52Speaker 6: is being asked about comments that were made by someone else,
- 14:56Speaker 6: someone called the Delegate Tran, a woman who I assume
- 14:59Speaker 6: is a be a political colleague or a fellow MP
- 15:02Speaker 6: or whatever, the Virginia Parliament, Virginia State Congress, and.
- 15:08Speaker 5: She is calling for these further measures.
- 15:12Speaker 6: So she is asked, should a baby be able to
- 15:15Speaker 6: be aborted after.
- 15:16Speaker 5: A woman has dilated?
- 15:17Speaker 6: And it is clear from the full exchange on the
- 15:20Speaker 6: radio show that she also thinks that just one physician
- 15:24Speaker 6: should have to authorize it, not multiple because that is
- 15:27Speaker 6: raised in that interview as well. So he's talking about
- 15:29Speaker 6: a hypothetical situation. I don't think there.
- 15:32Speaker 10: Oh yeah, I'm sure. With the populations undred and fifty million,
- 15:35Speaker 10: it's just a pretty growth.
- 15:37Speaker 6: It's a pretty grotesque, hypothetical, hypothetical situation, obviously, and he
- 15:42Speaker 6: just makes a complete muck of it. And I don't
- 15:44Speaker 6: think it's any coincidence that he's not the governor anymore.
- 15:47Speaker 6: But from my understanding, he was talking about a hypothetical situation,
- 15:51Speaker 6: and that's why it.
- 15:52Speaker 10: Is hypothetical or not. He said the baby is born
- 15:55Speaker 10: and then we have a discussion, which is exactly so.
- 15:58Speaker 5: Then we would know.
- 15:59Speaker 6: But he's not saying about He's not talking about something that.
- 16:01Speaker 5: Is happening now. He's talking about with all of that.
- 16:05Speaker 2: As abortion, with all the context.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Point the pertinent point is this that interview that we
- 16:11Speaker 3: just watched.
- 16:12Speaker 2: When it was reported by.
- 16:13Speaker 3: The BBC, they reported it with this headline Virginia late
- 16:17Speaker 3: term abortion bill labeled in fantaside. So that was the
- 16:21Speaker 3: clear inference, regardless of context. But the interesting creating Trump
- 16:26Speaker 3: was fact checked for something he said about abortion, which
- 16:28Speaker 3: turned out to be accurate. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris was not
- 16:33Speaker 3: interrogated at all regarding her views on late term abortions.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And one of the interesting things about this debate was
- 16:39Speaker 3: on more than three or four occasions, Trump actually suggested
- 16:43Speaker 3: to the ABC moderators questions they might like.
- 16:47Speaker 2: To ask Kamala Harris, you know.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Should they be curious about where she stood on anything,
- 16:52Speaker 3: And not once did they take Trump up on.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Any of those offers.
- 16:57Speaker 3: In fact, the other curious thing about this debate was
- 16:59Speaker 3: you would sweat it was. Donald Trump had been in
- 17:01Speaker 3: power for the last three and a half years and
- 17:03Speaker 3: he was being interrogated over the state of the country,
- 17:06Speaker 3: and Kamala was the challenger. She's been in power for
- 17:09Speaker 3: three and a half years, and she stood there basically
- 17:11Speaker 3: just I mean, they said, you know, Trump is a
- 17:13Speaker 3: horrible person.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Trump, you are, aren't you?
- 17:15Speaker 3: And then they'd say to Kamala do you agree he's
- 17:17Speaker 3: a horrible person? And that was pretty much how it
- 17:19Speaker 3: went for nineteen minutes.
- 17:20Speaker 10: It was and this point that we're about to show
- 17:24Speaker 10: you here was incredibly amusing because Kamala had basically just
- 17:27Speaker 10: accused him of weaponizing this and weaponizing that, and isn't
- 17:31Speaker 10: it all terrible? He turns around and says, you guys,
- 17:34Speaker 10: are the ones have been weaponizing everything against me? Why
- 17:39Speaker 10: do you think I came to almost have a bullet
- 17:41Speaker 10: in my skull. We'll get that clip for you as
- 17:51Speaker 10: soon as he can. So the headline reads, Trump says
- 17:54Speaker 10: he took a bullet to the head thanks to dem
- 17:56Speaker 10: rhetorics during the presidential debate with Harris. We've got that
- 18:00Speaker 10: grab for you now here. It is.
- 18:03Speaker 1: This is the one that weaponized, not me, She weaponized.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I probably took a bullet to their head because of
- 18:09Speaker 1: the things that they say about me. They talk about democracy.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I'm a threat to democracy. They're the threat to democracy.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Was a fake Russia Russia Russia investigation that went nowhere.
- 18:21Speaker 10: Will the media is like, oh quick, got to move
- 18:24Speaker 10: on from this. He's going to get on a roll
- 18:27Speaker 10: about all the lies the dams have told ad nauseum
- 18:31Speaker 10: for almost four years during the Biden administration, and of
- 18:35Speaker 10: course commentators online were very quick to pick up on
- 18:39Speaker 10: the fact that Kamala had completely redefined herself by now.
- 18:44Speaker 10: Trump literally joked during this debate that he was going
- 18:48Speaker 10: to send her a MAGA cap since she seemed to
- 18:50Speaker 10: have changed her policies on so many issues. This woman
- 18:55Speaker 10: came out on stage today, stared down the barrel at
- 18:58Speaker 10: Americans and told them with the straight face she is
- 19:01Speaker 10: a gun carrying, fracking supporter who loves George Bush and
- 19:08Speaker 10: is thrilled to be talked up by Dick Cheney. This
- 19:11Speaker 10: woman is unrecognizable from the woman of yesd year, and
- 19:17Speaker 10: David Muir, the ABC moderator there, failed to pick her
- 19:21Speaker 10: up even when she tried on the fact that well,
- 19:26Speaker 10: gun control, you know, actually I have a gun of
- 19:29Speaker 10: my own. Meanwhile, back in the last presidential debate, that
- 19:34Speaker 10: Kamala stood in and David Muir was commentator then as well.
- 19:39Speaker 10: She literally said she would use executive order in order
- 19:44Speaker 10: to enact gun controls. Check it out. This is back
- 19:47Speaker 10: in the last presidential debate.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Recent days, former Vice President Biden has said about executive orders,
- 19:54Speaker 4: some really talented people are seeking the nomination. They said,
- 19:57Speaker 4: I'm going to issue an executive order, Biden saying there's
- 19:59Speaker 4: no constitutional authority to issue that executive order. When they
- 20:03Speaker 4: say I'm going to eliminate assault weapons, saying you can't
- 20:06Speaker 4: do it by executive order anymore than Trump can do
- 20:08Speaker 4: things when he says he can do it by executive order.
- 20:11Speaker 4: Does the Vice president have a point there?
- 20:13Speaker 2: Some things you can, many things you can.
- 20:15Speaker 4: Let's let the senator answer.
- 20:17Speaker 11: Well, I mean I would just say, hey, Joe, it
- 20:20Speaker 11: said it saying that we can't. Let's say yes we can,
- 20:28Speaker 11: Yes we can, and.
- 20:31Speaker 10: Yes we can. She says, even while Biden himself is
- 20:35Speaker 10: standing there, it is more mental acuity type days, saying
- 20:41Speaker 10: this is unconstitutional. Do not say this. She's laughing and saying, yes,
- 20:46Speaker 10: I would do this. But today in today's debate, she's
- 20:50Speaker 10: a gun total She's not going to be clamping down
- 20:52Speaker 10: on gun control. She's completely reformed. And what's really interesting
- 20:57Speaker 10: about watching that clip from almost four years ago now
- 21:01Speaker 10: is we didn't see any of the jolly, smiley, happy
- 21:07Speaker 10: type Kamala, which begs the question if she can turn
- 21:10Speaker 10: it off? Is she just turning it on? Is that
- 21:13Speaker 10: what she's like.
- 21:14Speaker 6: She's has just been stage managed within each of her life.
- 21:17Speaker 6: They are not letting her out of the cage for
- 21:19Speaker 6: anything except the most absolute like they had to wait,
- 21:22Speaker 6: to think, what six weeks before they even let her
- 21:24Speaker 6: have a sit down media interview for twenty minutes with
- 21:26Speaker 6: Tim Roberson sitting next to her like a little sort
- 21:29Speaker 6: of you know, support on a friendly network with a
- 21:33Speaker 6: friendly reporter. And even that took six weeks to get
- 21:36Speaker 6: to that point. They are managing it so and you
- 21:38Speaker 6: can guarantee that the idea for getting her to sort
- 21:41Speaker 6: of poke Donald Trump about Israeli attendants, that that was
- 21:44Speaker 6: some mastermind in the background that came up with that.
- 21:46Speaker 6: That's straight out of a few good men. By the way,
- 21:48Speaker 6: this is what Tom Cruise does to Jack Nicholson and
- 21:50Speaker 6: a few good men needle and tried to make him
- 21:52Speaker 6: out of Actually you can get hand.
- 21:54Speaker 5: Of the truth.
- 21:55Speaker 6: But even though they tried to iron out all of Karmala's.
- 21:58Speaker 5: Kicks, there still some that slipped through. Now. I mentioned
- 22:02Speaker 5: obviously there was her you know, her.
- 22:04Speaker 6: Contentt inflection because I'm about opportunity and she's actually sort
- 22:07Speaker 6: of asking herself the question, and then because I'm.
- 22:09Speaker 5: About opportunity and so I think.
- 22:12Speaker 6: But another one you mentioned the word actually Liz and
- 22:16Speaker 6: Karma Harris also, I know has had a pendant. Every
- 22:18Speaker 6: time she's kind of in trouble or she gets lost
- 22:20Speaker 6: in one of her word salads, she pulls out the
- 22:23Speaker 6: word actually, even when it actually serves no actual purpose
- 22:28Speaker 6: in the actual sentence that she's actually saying. Have a
- 22:31Speaker 6: look at this magnificent montage we pulled together for you.
- 22:35Speaker 11: I'm actually the only person have actually a plan was
- 22:38Speaker 11: actually my mother raised, my sister and me. What actually
- 22:40Speaker 11: result actually brings value, actually understands we actually need a
- 22:45Speaker 11: leader who actually addresses and I'm going to actually do
- 22:48Speaker 11: something really unusual, a president who actually puts you first.
- 22:53Speaker 6: There you guys, whoever's writing her speeches, I'm not sure,
- 22:56Speaker 6: but I can tell you one thing they love.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Actually, it was pretty clear that she had a few
- 23:02Speaker 3: key points that she was going to continually return to.
- 23:05Speaker 3: She kept coming back to values. She hasn't changed the
- 23:08Speaker 3: mind on anything. Same values, different policies, but same value.
- 23:11Speaker 3: She kept coming back to democracy. She kept coming back
- 23:14Speaker 3: to the fact that she's a lifter of people. She's
- 23:17Speaker 3: not going to beat them down, even if she beat
- 23:19Speaker 3: Donald Trump down. And of course she kept trying to
- 23:21Speaker 3: sell herself off as a member of the middle class.
- 23:26Speaker 11: So I was raised as a middle class kid, and
- 23:30Speaker 11: I am actually the only person on this stage who
- 23:33Speaker 11: has a plan that is about lifting up the middle
- 23:35Speaker 11: class and working people of America. I believe in the ambition,
- 23:39Speaker 11: the aspirations, the dreams of the American people, and that
- 23:43Speaker 11: is why I imagine and have actually a plan to
- 23:46Speaker 11: build what I call an opportunity economy.
- 23:49Speaker 10: My passion.
- 23:50Speaker 11: One of them is small businesses. I was actually my
- 23:54Speaker 11: mother raised my sister and me, but there was a
- 23:56Speaker 11: woman who helped raise us. We call her our second mother.
- 23:59Speaker 11: She was a small business I love our small businesses.
- 24:02Speaker 11: My plan is to give a fifty thousand dollars tax
- 24:05Speaker 11: deduction to start up small businesses, knowing they are part
- 24:09Speaker 11: of the backbone of America's economy.
- 24:13Speaker 3: So she's from the middle class, but is she black?
- 24:15Speaker 3: And on that question, Trump walks straight into a trap.
- 24:20Speaker 1: You make a big deal out of something I couldn't
- 24:22Speaker 1: care less. Whatever she wants to be is okay with me.
- 24:25Speaker 9: But those were your words, so I don't know.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I mean, all I can say is I read where
- 24:29Speaker 1: she was not black that she put out and I'll
- 24:34Speaker 1: say that, and then I read that she was black,
- 24:37Speaker 1: and that's okay. Either one was okay with me. That's
- 24:40Speaker 1: up to her.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Liz.
- 24:42Speaker 3: I thought he started well when he said I don't care,
- 24:45Speaker 3: and he should have just stopped then, but he couldn't
- 24:47Speaker 3: help himself but just sort of go a bit deeper,
- 24:50Speaker 3: and then.
- 24:50Speaker 10: It all got I had to point out her hypocrisy.
- 24:53Speaker 10: And I do not blame him for points in which
- 24:56Speaker 10: he may have gotten a little heated, points in which
- 24:59Speaker 10: I'm because I was. I was getting so frustrated watching
- 25:03Speaker 10: this woman tell lie after lie. No fact check is
- 25:07Speaker 10: for Kamala, and I think that is why he felt this,
- 25:12Speaker 10: Other than just his temperament, he felt this onus on
- 25:16Speaker 10: him to take every opportunity to point out the fact
- 25:19Speaker 10: that this woman's lied, even about that she's black, when
- 25:22Speaker 10: it suits so we've all played the grabs on this
- 25:24Speaker 10: show of her putting on some sort of southern drawl,
- 25:27Speaker 10: trying to sound all Obama esque when there's a black
- 25:30Speaker 10: crowd behind her. But if she's at a white rally,
- 25:33Speaker 10: she sounds more like normal Kamala. So he couldn't pass
- 25:37Speaker 10: up the opportunity to point out the fact that the
- 25:40Speaker 10: only reason why I ever said anything about her race
- 25:43Speaker 10: was because she doesn't even seem to know what she is.
- 25:46Speaker 10: But you know what, I don't care. She can be
- 25:48Speaker 10: whatever she wants to be.
- 25:50Speaker 3: The funny thing about the CNN coverage is, as soon
- 25:52Speaker 3: as the debate finished, I was watching it on CNN
- 25:54Speaker 3: and we're watching it on Sky News Australia.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I know what we're going to say. Want to know
- 26:00Speaker 2: what the enemy is saying.
- 26:03Speaker 3: Screen, And the first thing he says, Joe is well,
- 26:06Speaker 3: a historic moment, the first ever black woman standing for
- 26:10Speaker 3: president of the United States, And I thought, there you go.
- 26:12Speaker 2: They play the race card.
- 26:14Speaker 3: Then when Trump points out they're playing the race card,
- 26:16Speaker 3: Trump is accused of playing the race card. But it's
- 26:18Speaker 3: got nothing to win by going down that street, especially
- 26:21Speaker 3: when you've got a failing economy, a poorer southern border.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Just plate your strengths and leave those subjects alone.
- 26:28Speaker 5: That's right.
- 26:29Speaker 6: And the thing is in America, even though identity politics
- 26:31Speaker 6: is creeping into politics everywhere in the West America, racial
- 26:35Speaker 6: politics is completely baked into their political system and to
- 26:38Speaker 6: the way people campaign. And you can see how quickly
- 26:40Speaker 6: and easily it can become toxic. That's why you had
- 26:43Speaker 6: Joe Biden saying things, you know, if you ain't voting
- 26:45Speaker 6: for me, you're not black because of his you know,
- 26:47Speaker 6: there was jokes about Bill Clinton being the first black
- 26:50Speaker 6: president because a good compair of sunglasses and played the saxophone.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Now that seemed that was funny. In the nineties, you know,
- 26:55Speaker 5: everyone thought that.
- 26:56Speaker 6: Was okay, and that's why you have you know, Barack
- 27:00Speaker 6: Obama surprised many people because it was always thought that
- 27:04Speaker 6: blacks and Hispanics wouldn't vote for each other, and Barack
- 27:06Speaker 6: Obama managed to get votes on both and people thought, oh, well,
- 27:09Speaker 6: it's a great big rainbow. And that's why you've got
- 27:11Speaker 6: things like white women for Harris, black women for Harris,
- 27:14Speaker 6: you know, left footed purple people leaders dancing a jig
- 27:17Speaker 6: for Harris. And so it's all very much set up
- 27:20Speaker 6: and again it turns toxic very quickly. The one thing
- 27:22Speaker 6: that was really interesting though, I think about Harris's introductory statement,
- 27:26Speaker 6: and again this was really early on the bait, just
- 27:28Speaker 6: a few minutes in.
- 27:29Speaker 5: You can see how nervous she is.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Again those uses the word actually about ten times in
- 27:34Speaker 6: just the one state. And it's another thing baked into
- 27:37Speaker 6: American politics, of course, the log cabin story that you know,
- 27:40Speaker 6: the president, you know, was born in a log cabin.
- 27:42Speaker 5: He built with his own hands.
- 27:44Speaker 6: As they're running joke, right, So if the most humble
- 27:48Speaker 6: thing that Kamala Harris can say about herself is that
- 27:52Speaker 6: she was middle class, which of course, historically, like in
- 27:55Speaker 6: the in England when it was invented, was meant that
- 27:58Speaker 6: you were really, really well off. So she says she's
- 28:01Speaker 6: middle class and says that's about as humble as she
- 28:03Speaker 6: can make herself. Then you know that she must have
- 28:06Speaker 6: actually been pretty affluent. And there's another clue in that,
- 28:09Speaker 6: because she talks about how she loves small business owners
- 28:12Speaker 6: because she's got to tick that box.
- 28:14Speaker 5: Now all of a sudden, she's profriate.
- 28:15Speaker 10: She knew one as a child, she knew.
- 28:17Speaker 5: One as a child.
- 28:18Speaker 6: Who was it the woman she lived with who helped
- 28:21Speaker 6: raise her.
- 28:24Speaker 5: That's a living nanny.
- 28:25Speaker 10: Sounds like that's a government, that's a servants.
- 28:32Speaker 6: I'm sure she was, you know, a sole contractor who
- 28:34Speaker 6: loves small business and was sending them in voices very diligently.
- 28:37Speaker 6: But you know, again like my second mother who lived
- 28:40Speaker 6: with us and helped raise me, was like, what's another
- 28:43Speaker 6: word for that housekeeper?
- 28:46Speaker 3: Indeed, before we move on from the debate really quickly,
- 28:49Speaker 3: can you hear from both of you, having watched the debate,
- 28:52Speaker 3: what do you think it means for the.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Presidential campaign going forward? Is it a game changer? Doesn't
- 28:56Speaker 2: mean nothing?
- 28:57Speaker 10: Your quick take, like I said, absolutely nothing. I don't.
- 29:00Speaker 10: I think very few people would be sitting on the
- 29:02Speaker 10: fence at this point, and those who are pro Kamala
- 29:05Speaker 10: would have been like, she was amazing. She totally beat
- 29:08Speaker 10: Trump or Pulp and everybody else who's always voted for
- 29:13Speaker 10: Trump and it just wants changed. I mean, that's that's
- 29:17Speaker 10: something else. That's all Trump needed to say today is like,
- 29:20Speaker 10: do you want another four years of what you've experienced
- 29:24Speaker 10: currently and have experienced over the last four years, Because
- 29:28Speaker 10: if you're happy with that, and it's all Beachy Keene, fine,
- 29:31Speaker 10: vote Dems. He did make the point, though she is Biden,
- 29:36Speaker 10: you are voting for exactly the same administration.
- 29:39Speaker 2: She had a really well rehearsed stated for that she did.
- 29:42Speaker 3: She said I'm not Joe Biden, and nor am I
- 29:43Speaker 3: Donald Trump, which was clearly rehearsed and not bad Joe.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Does this change anything or.
- 29:48Speaker 6: It's just I don't know how much it will change,
- 29:51Speaker 6: but I think certainly it hurts Trump and does not
- 29:53Speaker 6: help him. How much it hurts him or not, whether
- 29:55Speaker 6: I mean the NFL. Timmy j Big shout out to
- 29:58Speaker 6: Timmy j My, one of my best mates, labor strategist
- 30:01Speaker 6: who was very, very smart and understands normal people much
- 30:04Speaker 6: better than a lot of other political strategists. Said, Look,
- 30:06Speaker 6: the NFL season is going to start next week, and
- 30:09Speaker 6: everyone will have forgotten about politics at that point, and
- 30:12Speaker 6: then they'll go back to thinking about it just before
- 30:14Speaker 6: the election and when they go to vote. But I
- 30:17Speaker 6: think Trump had Harris, had Harris on the ropes for
- 30:21Speaker 6: the first half hour, and then he basically threw that
- 30:23Speaker 6: all away by again being being roped into a rabbit
- 30:27Speaker 6: hole that he didn't need to go down. And after
- 30:29Speaker 6: that he lost his momentum. Before this, Trump's poll numbers
- 30:32Speaker 6: were gaining, the margin was narrowing. The New York Times
- 30:36Speaker 6: Ciena Pole actually had Trump marginally ahead in the national
- 30:39Speaker 6: polls or the tiny bit behind in you know, say,
- 30:41Speaker 6: Pennsylvania and the key swing stage. So again he was
- 30:45Speaker 6: he was actually on track to come back. And that's
- 30:47Speaker 6: with him not a particularly great performance over the last
- 30:50Speaker 6: couple of weeks, but with Karmela's you know, buzz, her
- 30:53Speaker 6: halo wearing off after the convention, and again, the more
- 30:55Speaker 6: you see of Karmala, the more people don't seem to
- 30:58Speaker 6: like what they're seeing. The pressure on her for this debate,
- 31:01Speaker 6: everyone was saying she would struggle in an unscripted free
- 31:04Speaker 6: for all environment, that Donald Trump.
- 31:06Speaker 5: Would get the better of her.
- 31:07Speaker 6: That was what he looked like he was about to
- 31:09Speaker 6: do for the first half hour, but then he flubbed it.
- 31:11Speaker 10: And I agree with that assertion, but.
- 31:15Speaker 6: True, I think, yeah, I think the vast majority of
- 31:18Speaker 6: people and again there are a lot of people who,
- 31:20Speaker 6: no matter what happened, would call it for Carmala Harris
- 31:22Speaker 6: and say that you'd win. I thought that Trump, you know,
- 31:26Speaker 6: would do better, and he was doing as well as
- 31:28Speaker 6: I thought he would do for the first half hour.
- 31:30Speaker 6: But the difference between that first half hour and then
- 31:33Speaker 6: when he starts talking about the dogs and then immediately
- 31:35Speaker 6: starts talking about cats, because I think he even realizes
- 31:38Speaker 6: that he's just stuffed something up. You can see her, No,
- 31:43Speaker 6: that is absolutely not and you can see her looking
- 31:45Speaker 6: at him, and you can see the cogs in his
- 31:46Speaker 6: own eyes and at that moment, but they both realized.
- 31:51Speaker 3: She definitely benefited. I think from the low expectations that people.
- 31:55Speaker 10: Have to not screw up. He is a woman is
- 32:01Speaker 10: finger painting and we're congratulating her because she drew a
- 32:05Speaker 10: stick figure.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. Let's go to local news quickly. Anthony
- 32:09Speaker 3: Albanesi is set to introduce new hate speech laws into
- 32:13Speaker 3: Parliament tomorrow. Now, this was a promising made back in
- 32:16Speaker 3: February in response to essentially the anti semitism that we've
- 32:19Speaker 3: seen since October seven. Hiss Anthony Albenze speaking today about
- 32:24Speaker 3: what they'll introduce.
- 32:25Speaker 7: As I said tomorrow, the government will be introducing legislation
- 32:30Speaker 7: this week to create new criminal offenses and strengthen protections
- 32:35Speaker 7: against hate crimes.
- 32:37Speaker 8: These offenses will protect the community, including the LGB two
- 32:43Speaker 8: t community and other targeted groups from the threat of
- 32:46Speaker 8: force or violence and from those who would urge violence
- 32:49Speaker 8: against them, which we know is only too real now.
- 32:54Speaker 3: The original proposal was that they would criminalize serious vilification.
- 32:59Speaker 3: The Sitting Morning Herald we're reporting that the government we're
- 33:02Speaker 3: going to water that down. We'll see tomorrow when the
- 33:05Speaker 3: bill is introduced. But we've seen in the UK how
- 33:09Speaker 3: these hate speech laws in Scotland as well really don't work.
- 33:13Speaker 3: There should be laws against inciting violence, but when it
- 33:17Speaker 3: comes to hate speech and vilification, and of course then
- 33:19Speaker 3: begs the question who decides what constitutes vilification? And the
- 33:24Speaker 3: government want to criminalize serious vilification, which then begs another
- 33:28Speaker 3: question what's vilification and what's serious vilification? And the problem,
- 33:33Speaker 3: of course is once you start making these laws around gender, sexuality, religion.
- 33:39Speaker 3: If I say to you that your religion is a
- 33:41Speaker 3: load of rubbish and garbage, have I vilified you?
- 33:43Speaker 2: And is it serious?
- 33:45Speaker 3: If I say to you that I believe homosexuality is
- 33:47Speaker 3: a sin because that's what my religion teaches. Have I
- 33:49Speaker 3: just vilified you by saying that you're going to end
- 33:51Speaker 3: up in hell? You would say that I have I
- 33:54Speaker 3: say I'm just arguing my sincerely held religious belief. You've
- 33:58Speaker 3: out of me on National Teller, and now the government
- 34:01Speaker 3: has got through exactly, or some sort of tribunal have
- 34:04Speaker 3: then got to or a police officer has got to
- 34:06Speaker 3: adjudicate on that.
- 34:07Speaker 2: These laws are ridiculous.
- 34:09Speaker 3: No one wants people to be saying nasty things, but
- 34:12Speaker 3: the courts are not the place to deal with it.
- 34:14Speaker 3: Let people have it out, and if people are being
- 34:17Speaker 3: rude and vile and vulgar, then people will shun them
- 34:20Speaker 3: and that will be their punishment.
- 34:22Speaker 10: Yes, that has always been the concept of free speech.
- 34:25Speaker 10: You are free to say whatever you want. I'm free
- 34:28Speaker 10: to react however I want. Let's not get the law involved.
- 34:32Speaker 10: If I was ever to get a tattoo, it would
- 34:34Speaker 10: say free speech is hate speech, depending on who wants
- 34:39Speaker 10: to define what that hate is. That is why we
- 34:43Speaker 10: cannot have hate speech laws. We just can't, because who
- 34:47Speaker 10: among us are we going to trust to say we
- 34:50Speaker 10: can slap a fine on you, we can penalize you,
- 34:53Speaker 10: we can even throw you in jail for saying ab
- 34:57Speaker 10: or c. These proposed laws have reportedly targeted derogatory remarks. Okay,
- 35:03Speaker 10: so if I call you an idiot. Does that count
- 35:06Speaker 10: based on gender, sexuality, race, disability and religion. That's all
- 35:11Speaker 10: of them. Baby. This would see the courts tied up
- 35:14Speaker 10: till the cows come home. This is a massive can
- 35:18Speaker 10: of worms. But that's that's a technicality. That's just how
- 35:21Speaker 10: it would work out. My point is free speech is
- 35:25Speaker 10: hate speech, period, and we need free speech. It's the
- 35:29Speaker 10: bulwark of any free society. You can't you can't start
- 35:34Speaker 10: making laws around this, and the ones that we already
- 35:37Speaker 10: do don't even work. We supposedly have them. But the
- 35:41Speaker 10: hate preachers in Western Sydney you get to say from
- 35:44Speaker 10: their pulpits gosh, don't you wish a certain community was just,
- 35:48Speaker 10: you know, wiped off the face of the earth. And
- 35:50Speaker 10: that's perfectly fine. We're told by our state government. They
- 35:54Speaker 10: haven't even got a slap on the wrist. So like
- 35:58Speaker 10: the ones you do have, you're not even you using.
- 36:00Speaker 10: But you want to make more. No matter which angle
- 36:04Speaker 10: you look at this from, it's nonsense.
- 36:07Speaker 5: This is where the government's landed so full credit Sirtain.
- 36:09Speaker 6: They've said right incitement to violence, seeking to cause harm
- 36:12Speaker 6: to people, or encouraging others to cause harm to people
- 36:15Speaker 6: based on any of those things race.
- 36:17Speaker 2: We already have those laws.
- 36:19Speaker 10: There's derogatory remarks. It doesn't say inciting.
- 36:22Speaker 6: Harm, but I think that is I don't think that
- 36:25Speaker 6: is the sort of stuff that is going to get through.
- 36:27Speaker 6: It seems we haven't seen the final film, but they're
- 36:29Speaker 6: saying now that hate speech won't actually be a part
- 36:32Speaker 6: of it in and of itself.
- 36:33Speaker 5: Incitement.
- 36:33Speaker 3: Can I just say the most surprising part of that
- 36:35Speaker 3: conversation is that if Liz Stauer was to ever get
- 36:38Speaker 3: a tattoo, that's the tattoo you would get speech hate,
- 36:42Speaker 3: get a butterfly or something?
- 36:45Speaker 5: Did you get it?
- 36:46Speaker 6: We're visible, so that everyone my forehead.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Before we go, before we go to an ad break.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Of course, in the US, it's nine to eleven memorial.
- 36:58Speaker 3: His footage of Biden, Harris and Trump at the nine
- 37:02Speaker 3: to eleven memorial that's happening as we speak, and so
- 37:07Speaker 3: you can see them. They're a little friendlier than at
- 37:10Speaker 3: the debate today.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Is that Bloomberg Joe Biden? Is there? Is it mayor
- 37:14Speaker 2: Bloomboot looks like, yeah, was it Schumer?
- 37:16Speaker 6: So that is maybe, but but there you go.
- 37:22Speaker 3: They're commemorating nine to eleven and of course jd Vance
- 37:26Speaker 3: there beside Donald Trump as well. Well, we are going
- 37:29Speaker 3: to go to a break, but when we come back
- 37:32Speaker 3: in just a moment, we'll have all that's making news
- 37:34Speaker 3: in tomorrow's papers.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Stick around, welcome back.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Well, let's take a look at what's making news in
- 37:41Speaker 3: tomorrow's papers. We'll start with the Herald's Son, who of
- 37:44Speaker 3: course going with the massive protest in Melbourne today at
- 37:48Speaker 3: the weapons Expo. The front page, and it's a pretty
- 37:51Speaker 3: great photo on the front page of the Herald's Son.
- 37:53Speaker 3: The headline reads your hate won't win. Dirty, filthy, disgusting animals.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Vile protesters spray police with acid, pelt them with rocks
- 38:02Speaker 3: and feces, and attack officers with flaming bins. And when
- 38:06Speaker 3: you open up Tomorrow's Herald Son, they've got four pages
- 38:09Speaker 3: covering this. But the photograph that you can see on
- 38:12Speaker 3: your screen there is well, I guess, Joe, I'm not
- 38:15Speaker 3: sure I should call it a brilliant photograph because what
- 38:18Speaker 3: we saw in the streets of Melbourne were an absolute disgrace.
- 38:22Speaker 3: News photos with his life, it's a great life.
- 38:26Speaker 6: It's up there with the one of Donald Trump after
- 38:28Speaker 6: the assassination attempt, where he's sort of got his fist
- 38:30Speaker 6: raised in phenomenal if you look at if you look
- 38:34Speaker 6: at the composition of the photo, it's incredible, even the
- 38:36Speaker 6: expression on the horse's face where the horse almost seems
- 38:40Speaker 6: to be sort of screaming. And then you've got the
- 38:42Speaker 6: guy the horse is trying to break this line of protesters,
- 38:45Speaker 6: got the guy just in front. I mean, it's an
- 38:47Speaker 6: incredible photo. And then on the right hand side we
- 38:51Speaker 6: have this mysterious figure in a trench coat and sunglasses
- 38:56Speaker 6: who I feel has a very interesting story to tell.
- 38:59Speaker 6: I want to know more about him. I think it's
- 39:02Speaker 6: a hymn. It's just incredible. I mean, again, we have
- 39:05Speaker 6: no suggestion whatsoever that this person or any of these
- 39:08Speaker 6: people were involved in any of the actual violence. But
- 39:11Speaker 6: I've studied that picture of the guy or the girl
- 39:15Speaker 6: whoever it is, long blonde hair on the end, and
- 39:17Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure I can say with Tom with confidence,
- 39:20Speaker 6: Tom Petty do better.
- 39:24Speaker 10: But what an ironic anti war protest? This is essentially
- 39:29Speaker 10: what this is supposed to be. Where anti war, we're
- 39:32Speaker 10: anti violins. So let's spray the police with acid and
- 39:35Speaker 10: herld fecal matter and take our frustrations out on police
- 39:39Speaker 10: forces as well as police men. I saw a few
- 39:42Speaker 10: of them bloodied up today. The police on the streets,
- 39:46Speaker 10: just trying to contain the anarchy. It's like, guys, I mean.
- 39:51Speaker 6: But also there were heaps of anti climate change protesters
- 39:54Speaker 6: there and they set fire to plastic bins that the
- 39:58Speaker 6: worst kind.
- 40:00Speaker 10: Don't know anything about emissions.
- 40:01Speaker 2: Clearly inconsistency from Melbourne Marxists.
- 40:04Speaker 6: But honestly that I'm the last person startsusts.
- 40:09Speaker 10: Okay, I'm the last person to be like, lay off
- 40:12Speaker 10: the military industrial complex, weapon go about their business. But
- 40:16Speaker 10: if you're going to take them on, oh my goodness,
- 40:19Speaker 10: this is not how it's done. And also in a free,
- 40:24Speaker 10: democratic society, if you want to keep the peace, you've
- 40:28Speaker 10: got to be prepared for war. That is the world
- 40:31Speaker 10: that we're living in. So I don't know where they
- 40:33Speaker 10: think they're going to get off, just being like everyone
- 40:37Speaker 10: stop it. Like watching some of the vox pops today
- 40:40Speaker 10: was just hilarious. Why are you here today? We just
- 40:43Speaker 10: want it all to end.
- 40:44Speaker 6: And it also pro Russians there at the protest as well,
- 40:48Speaker 6: wouldn't have been totally out of five.
- 40:50Speaker 3: There was one hilarious moment from the protest, and that's
- 40:53Speaker 3: where Sky News reporter told us all that the protesters
- 40:57Speaker 3: had been so committed to the protest, but they did
- 41:00Speaker 3: have time to take.
- 41:00Speaker 2: A lunch break.
- 41:02Speaker 10: This is what it looks like at the moment.
- 41:04Speaker 6: They've just made an announcement that the protest is going
- 41:06Speaker 6: to go to lunch to have a break and then
- 41:08Speaker 6: come back.
- 41:11Speaker 5: Hard work.
- 41:11Speaker 2: You know you're going to have a smoke over.
- 41:14Speaker 5: We're not satire? How is this not satire?
- 41:17Speaker 6: Like imagine those guys are the trenches ladge the passion
- 41:22Speaker 6: dial of the song.
- 41:23Speaker 3: They madly and then someone will say, watches as lunchtime.
- 41:27Speaker 6: I say, I say, fricks, Well, I'm just going to
- 41:30Speaker 6: have a couple of prompets for a bit. But I
- 41:32Speaker 6: just hold the artillery fire.
- 41:33Speaker 5: I just still say. Should we say, oh, just you
- 41:35Speaker 5: know oneish that we can have afters We'll say in the.
- 41:38Speaker 10: World after assumcial break to the front page of the
- 41:42Speaker 10: Courier Mail Now bad drugs crackdown. Voluntary assisted dying drugs
- 41:48Speaker 10: would only be controlled by authorized health professionals under a
- 41:51Speaker 10: major change recommended after a grieving widower ingested the lethal
- 41:56Speaker 10: substance provided to his wife. Coroner David O'Connell's of the
- 42:00Speaker 10: man's death was not a one off, and changes were
- 42:03Speaker 10: needed to prevent quote further calamity and heartbreak end quote. Well,
- 42:08Speaker 10: who knew that state sanctioned suicide via a pill mate
- 42:13Speaker 10: have some unintended consequences and very tragic ones at that.
- 42:18Speaker 10: I wasn't aware that we could just send these home
- 42:21Speaker 10: with people.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I think once you're I I've always imagined once
- 42:26Speaker 3: you approved, then it's in your own time and you
- 42:28Speaker 3: can go home.
- 42:29Speaker 10: And I've heard of people getting them via the mail,
- 42:32Speaker 10: but I thought that was like dodgy, dodged, like one
- 42:37Speaker 10: of them.
- 42:37Speaker 6: Seems that in this case that this is this has
- 42:40Speaker 6: been properly acquired and properly dispense. There's been sort of
- 42:43Speaker 6: dispensed like the other medication. The person that the husband
- 42:47Speaker 6: obviously knew where it was and decided to know, well,
- 42:52Speaker 6: my beloved wife's gone, I'm in mourning. I can't go on,
- 42:54Speaker 6: and he thought, well, it's here now and I'll just
- 42:57Speaker 6: take it.
- 42:57Speaker 5: It's extraordinary and the other thing.
- 42:59Speaker 6: But the other thing is this is the strange like
- 43:01Speaker 6: if you were going to do euthanasia, if you were
- 43:05Speaker 6: going to do voluntaris, sister dying and whatever they call it.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Now, you'd want to do it at time.
- 43:09Speaker 6: The whole point is you want to go at a
- 43:11Speaker 6: time and place of your own choosing, not in some
- 43:14Speaker 6: kind of you know, clinical hospital bed. And so if
- 43:18Speaker 6: you're going to ban people from taking it home, doesn't
- 43:20Speaker 6: that kind of defy the whole point anyway, which is
- 43:23Speaker 6: a problem.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Start down the track of state sanctioned killing, you end
- 43:28Speaker 3: up with all sorts of.
- 43:31Speaker 6: Onto far more important matters. Well, back to the NT
- 43:34Speaker 6: News now it's finalist. Back on song the NT News
- 43:38Speaker 6: front page, Oh sheet and yes take me to Akma,
- 43:42Speaker 6: I said.
- 43:42Speaker 5: It, Oh sheet.
- 43:44Speaker 6: A man hunt as prisoners escape through cell window.
- 43:47Speaker 5: This is amazing.
- 43:47Speaker 6: This is like out of an eighties Buddy film. Two
- 43:50Speaker 6: violent offenders are on the run after an early morning
- 43:53Speaker 6: Darwin CBD prison break involving bed sheets and a broken
- 43:58Speaker 6: window panel. Firstly, how good is Darwin. It's still got
- 44:01Speaker 6: a prison right in the middle of the CBD. Love
- 44:04Speaker 6: that place so much. And secondly, bed sheets? Who would
- 44:09Speaker 6: have you know? What do they want to sell?
- 44:11Speaker 5: Number four?
- 44:12Speaker 6: Johnny? Are just some more bed sheets? Must be a
- 44:14Speaker 6: bit cold in Darwin in prison in the oh, well,
- 44:21Speaker 6: better give it to him, just in case that one.
- 44:22Speaker 6: I'm catching a chill. I just loved that joint so much.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Let's go to the front page of the Adelaide Advertiser
- 44:29Speaker 3: with Anthony Albanezi introducing stronger vilification laws. They might come
- 44:33Speaker 3: in handy for the police union in South Australia. Silly
- 44:36Speaker 3: cow copsler reads the headline, the thuggish police union leaders
- 44:40Speaker 3: ridicule officers. So there's an internal brawl in the state's
- 44:44Speaker 3: police union that's erupted because officials have been accused of
- 44:48Speaker 3: ridiculing officers with PTSD and calling female police members silly
- 44:53Speaker 3: cows and female office staff old, fat and ugly. Officers
- 44:58Speaker 3: who called into the Police Association South Australia with mental
- 45:01Speaker 3: health inquiries for their work were called quote broken biscuits.
- 45:07Speaker 3: This has all been revealed to Parliament last night and
- 45:10Speaker 3: we'll obviously become an ongoing controversy. Not really what you
- 45:14Speaker 3: want to be called when you ring in because you're
- 45:17Speaker 3: doing it tough, and that's what you're told by your union,
- 45:20Speaker 3: whether they were mucking around or not.
- 45:22Speaker 2: It's not exactly appropriate.
- 45:24Speaker 10: I just I'm sorry. I find it really funny that we're.
- 45:26Speaker 5: Never running.
- 45:29Speaker 10: Like I wasn't silly cowany calling fat, old and ugly.
- 45:34Speaker 10: Well if the shoe fits, no, No, I'm just I'm
- 45:38Speaker 10: just saying.
- 45:39Speaker 5: Fell I brought a biscuit. I stand in solidarity.
- 45:44Speaker 10: We're having an inquiry into this.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Do you wonder whether the mental health issues were before
- 45:48Speaker 3: they spoke to the police union, or as a result
- 45:50Speaker 3: of speaking to the police they.
- 45:51Speaker 10: Leave emotional cripple like it's supposed to help USS, Right.
- 45:55Speaker 6: I only got PTSD after I called the helpline.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Exactly all right, We're going to go to a break.
- 46:01Speaker 3: But when we come back, a big argument has erupted
- 46:05Speaker 3: over whether school children should be allowed to go to
- 46:06Speaker 3: the bathroom during class time or whether they should be
- 46:09Speaker 3: told to wait.
- 46:10Speaker 2: We'll weigh in on that in just a moment. Welcome back.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Well, we know CNN love Kamala Harris, but Liz even
- 46:19Speaker 3: CNN are a little.
- 46:20Speaker 10: Surprised stomach this. Yes, CNN on the Daily gives the
- 46:25Speaker 10: dams a good tongue bath. But today CNN anchor known
- 46:30Speaker 10: as Aaron Burnett got a few inconvenient facts, shall we say?
- 46:35Speaker 10: From senior editor Andrew Kazinski regarding Harris's twenty nineteen policy positions.
- 46:43Speaker 10: Check this out. She could barely believe it.
- 46:46Speaker 13: This questionnaire is really an interesting snapshot in time of
- 46:49Speaker 13: that twenty nineteen Democratic primary. Kamala Harris was trying to
- 46:53Speaker 13: get to the left of Bernie Sanderws. She was trying
- 46:55Speaker 13: to get to the left of Elizabeth Warren, and you
- 46:57Speaker 13: really see that in a light of these answers. I
- 47:00Speaker 13: want to walk her viewers through a little bit of
- 47:02Speaker 13: what she said. Let's just take immigration and look at
- 47:04Speaker 13: what she said here. She said on immigration, she made
- 47:07Speaker 13: this open ended pledge to end immigrant attention. She said
- 47:10Speaker 13: she supported taxpayer funded gender transition surgeries for deteened migrants.
- 47:15Speaker 2: She also said she's.
- 47:16Speaker 10: Expair funded gender transition surgeries for detainment. Actually said she supported.
- 47:21Speaker 13: She wrote both wrote and answered in the affirmative when
- 47:25Speaker 13: she was asked this.
- 47:26Speaker 10: Now, there is no to the left of Bernie Sanders
- 47:30Speaker 10: and Elizabeth Warren, and that is proof. But she was
- 47:33Speaker 10: trying her hardest and if anyone was going to make it,
- 47:35Speaker 10: it was going to be her answers in that twenty
- 47:38Speaker 10: nineteen policy survey.
- 47:39Speaker 6: Yeah, so this is from the American Civil Liberties Union
- 47:41Speaker 6: and sort of saying, oh, do you support all these things,
- 47:43Speaker 6: and she's like, yeah, I'll say anything, yep, just take
- 47:45Speaker 6: every box all right.
- 47:47Speaker 10: Now.
- 47:47Speaker 3: A teacher in California has caused controversy tried to solve
- 47:51Speaker 3: that age old problem of stopping kids going to the toilet.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Simply to get out of class.
- 47:55Speaker 3: So what she's done is she's given every child in
- 47:58Speaker 3: the class one toilet pass, which they can use it
- 48:01Speaker 3: anytime during the week, but once they've used it, they
- 48:04Speaker 3: can't ever go to the toilet again that week during
- 48:07Speaker 3: class time. They've got to hold on to the break
- 48:10Speaker 3: But if they don't use their toilet pass, they get
- 48:12Speaker 3: to use it as credit towards their assignments or their exams.
- 48:16Speaker 3: So this has caused controversy with parents saying it's not
- 48:18Speaker 3: fair to make kids wait. I ran this by my
- 48:22Speaker 3: son's Liz, and they both immediately said, oh, what you
- 48:25Speaker 3: get credit if you don't go to the toilet. We
- 48:28Speaker 3: hold on and we'd use it for credit towards our assignments.
- 48:31Speaker 3: They thought it was a fantastic idea so they could
- 48:33Speaker 3: do better in their work.
- 48:34Speaker 10: The irony is just last night we were talking about
- 48:38Speaker 10: the Queensland health promo for telling everyone to do number
- 48:42Speaker 10: twos at work. It's healthy. Everyone get around it. There
- 48:46Speaker 10: was a jingle for it and everything, and now we're
- 48:48Speaker 10: telling kids at school hold it and we'll give you
- 48:52Speaker 10: some points like what come on, come on.
- 48:55Speaker 5: Come on.
- 48:55Speaker 6: Look, we've just got to pull together as a team here. Okay,
- 48:58Speaker 6: that's to be for the common good. You've got to
- 49:01Speaker 6: remember there is no I in we on that note.
- 49:04Speaker 3: That's it from us, But don't go anywhere. Coming up
- 49:06Speaker 3: in just a moment is the reader Pendhesia
