- 0:11Dayna Roselli: Plus, I spent Mother's Day weekend at the Fountain Blue for a little staycation, and I met Pitbull.
- 0:18Dayna Roselli: So did my mom.
- 0:19Dayna Roselli: I've got the whole story coming up.
- 0:21Sean McAllister: And some tips on a quick trip that's easy to do if you live on the West Coast or here in Vegas.
- 0:27Dayna Roselli: There's a small bar and casino you may not know about that has some cheap eats.
- 0:32Sean McAllister: And we attend a party at the Thriller Villa.
- 0:36Dayna Roselli: All that more coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: Vegas Revealed, presented by Galindo Law, starts now.
- 0:45Sean McAllister: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 270.
- 0:48Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we're sitting in the mid-70s here in Las Vegas.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: We had a weekend that was like, I don't know, 98, 97.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: And it's kind of that up and down, which we love this season because it's nice to get a break.
- 1:04Dayna Roselli: You love the hot days to like do a little swimming.
- 1:06Dayna Roselli: You're like, oh, feel the heat, and it's gorgeous on the patio.
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: But then like the next day, this breeze comes in and it's in the mid-70s, and you're like, oh, I can go for a great walk.
- 1:15Dayna Roselli: And it's just, it's a great variety.
- 1:17Sean McAllister: It is, but the wind has picked up a little bit where it's like a little bit dusty and torrential.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: You don't really want to be out there and be like smacked with a tumbleweed rolling down the road.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: You were saying that you were doing some yard work.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: You were worried, huh?
- 1:32Sean McAllister: I was worried that a a palm branch from the neighbor's tree was gonna impale me.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: We even had a full day of rain recently, though.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: And then after that, it smelled so fresh and clean here.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: It's like great.
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: It's been we've had like a variety of weather.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: So um usually we kind of get this in April, but it's leaking over into May.
- 1:50Dayna Roselli: So, you know, as we say every year, the weather is changing, it seems like just slightly, but it's enough to affect your mind where you're like, wait, I don't really remember it being this windy in May.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: Right or being this, you know, hot so early, or you know, things like that.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we've got a nice little array for you.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: If you come in for a week, I'm sure you'll have a little bit of everything.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: And that'll be, you know, maybe what you're looking for.
- 2:14Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 2:15Sean McAllister: We'll give you the buffet of Las Vegas weather.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: Hey, big shout out to our sponsor, Galindo Law.
- 2:21Dayna Roselli: It's Galindolaw.com, and their phone number is 800-251-1533.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: They've been getting a lot of calls lately.
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: They always return the call.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: I told you, we tell you every week that if you're looking for a free claim review, give them a call.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: You might be owed more compensation when it comes to maybe uh some storm damage in Texas, uh possibly the wildfires in California.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: Galindo Law is your people.
- 2:49Dayna Roselli: It's not grammatically correct, but I like it.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: Galindo Law is your people.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: And you can uh find them at Galindolaw.com.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: Hey, we went to an event just recently at the Thriller Villa, and this is the estate where Michael Jackson lived for part of his time here in Las Vegas.
- 3:08Sean McAllister: It's also the estate that houses the Liberachi Foundation's collection of Liberacci memorabilia.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: So you have the legacy of Michael Jackson and Liberacci all under one roof.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's a lot of bling.
- 3:22Sean McAllister: It's a lot of bling.
- 3:24Sean McAllister: Candelabras, the whole nine.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: It was really interesting.
- 3:27Dayna Roselli: I've never been there before.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: So, and you know, I know Michael Jackson lived there for a short time.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: I think he bopped around another place in Spanish Trail, maybe, but would love the history and going in there, you could tell why he chose that house for his, you know, time when he was in Las Vegas.
- 3:41Dayna Roselli: It just, it's very Michael Jackson.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: It is very much.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: But uh, the party we went to was for a new event and catering company called Fortune Events.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: And this was really fun.
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: It was like an immersive launch party, which I don't know if we mentioned on the audio podcast, maybe just on our social media, that we had this hand-delivered invitation and we were supposed to enter the portal of time.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: And well, anyway, we get to the party, and that's exactly basically what we did.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: We were transported through eras.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: There were six distinct time periods.
- 4:13Dayna Roselli: There was an app that guided us through to different rooms, and there were photo opportunities and cocktails and uh dessert stations.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: Well, in Fortune Events, this is made up of uh event veteran uh event coordinators and chefs from Las Vegas.
- 4:32Sean McAllister: They all have extensive backgrounds, but specifically the food, it was delicious.
- 4:39Sean McAllister: They had like a live fire uh sm smoke grill thing out there, which was really cool.
- 4:47Sean McAllister: The mac and cheese that was out there.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: I am picky with mac and cheese, and it was delicious.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was good.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: They had a lot of the quesadilla and they made that fresh.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: They were making everything, you know, right there on site.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: And they had a sushi robot making sushi.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: It was really cool.
- 5:03Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, it was like something different in every the martini room.
- 5:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, different street stations all around.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: It was really, really cool.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: They're bringing a lot of innovation into this whole company, like just like I mentioned with the app, you know, like you look at the app, you go through the map.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: I mean, so they know they're catering, they know their food, they know their drink, and then they also know their technology and events.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: So it's like all coming together for this like new innovative company.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: And listen, Las Vegas is based on events.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: There is literally, we how many times do we sit here every week and scream when another invite comes?
- 5:39Sean McAllister: Well, I think just today.
- 5:40Sean McAllister: I think there were like seven or eight or nine.
- 5:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:45Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of events here in Las Vegas, a lot of things open, a lot of things are celebrated.
- 5:49Sean McAllister: And that's what this fortune events company.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: They're trying to raise the bar, give the event scene a glow up, if you will.
- 5:56Sean McAllister: Um, so they bring just their expertise to the the whole scene and are ready to, you know, do events in a new and innovative way.
- 6:07Sean McAllister: So if you need an event, if you're planning an event, call fortune events.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and that thriller villa is really cool.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: You said that they do private tours, or how do they do that?
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: Book appointments?
- 6:17Sean McAllister: If you uh look for the Liberachi Museum online, it's a private museum.
- 6:23Sean McAllister: Um the public can go, but you have to make an appointment and you know set up the whole deal.
- 6:28Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:28Sean McAllister: Um, it's really cool.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: And I'm told that they have uh so much.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: I I went years ago and I'm told that since I've been, they've uncovered more liberace artifacts and been able to attach more history to the artifacts that they have.
- 6:48Sean McAllister: So it's a really nice look into uh one of the premier entertainers in Las Vegas history.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and when we went and interviewed Dita Vantis, the Queen of Burlesque, she's got a show over at the Venetian at Voltaire, she was talking about how she just loves that collection because she's so into Liberace and the past and how it has influence on her show and and all that.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: And I recently went to her show Sunday night, Mother's Day, took mom there.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: Uh, she came in for the weekend, and I just I don't know, like I guess like the night we went for the show, I loved it.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: But you know, we were it was like a media night and we were all chatting and this and that.
- 7:27Dayna Roselli: And like that, like I felt like I really like sat down and paid attention.
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: And I just loved this show.
- 7:34Dayna Roselli: I just I was telling you, I was texting you, I'm like, this show just needs to stay forever.
- 7:38Sean McAllister: It does.
- 7:38Dayna Roselli: Dita's amazing, the costumes are amazing.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: The the Voltaire, it's pretty big in there.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: It's just stunning.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: We say it all the time.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: It's like definitely the most beautiful showroom in all of Las Vegas.
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: Um, it was packed and people were hooting and hollering when when Dita came out and whistling, but in a classy way, and people were it just supporting all the other dancers.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: And I had such a good time.
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: My mom absolutely loved it.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: Um, again, not a word spoken.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: We've talked about this before, just music, costumes, themes, but it was a show.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: It's such a show.
- 8:14Dayna Roselli: This is what Vegas is about, and I love it.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: And I'm so excited that Dita extended her show and she's gonna be there at the Venetian for a while.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: But I just I think she should just let it ride and be here for years and years and years.
- 8:27Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: I would support that wholeheartedly because it's burlesque, but it's really classy.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: It's a classy show where you could go like in a suit or a long gown and fit right in.
- 8:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, not be out of place.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: And same with like any kind of cocktail attire.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's just great.
- 8:46Sean McAllister: It's an occasion.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Uh you know, I love it.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: There's there's guys in the show, there's women in the show, there's all shapes and sizes, all ethnicities.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: It's just awesome.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: It's just really cool.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: I was there and then I saw the next day Josh Grobin was there when I was there.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, when I was there when he was there.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: But yeah, he's got a show over at Coliseum for the week.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: It wasn't um, you know, it's not gonna continue on.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Well, as we we don't know just yet.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: But Josh was doing a bunch of shows.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: He might even still be here this week, possibly.
- 9:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think so.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, maybe.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: Anyway, at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 9:20Dayna Roselli: But Sunday night he went over to see Dita at nine o'clock.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: So I thought that was cool and said he loved the show.
- 9:25Sean McAllister: And how could you not?
- 9:26Sean McAllister: And I love that it's performers, supporting performer there.
- 9:30Sean McAllister: Um, another show that's coming up this summer in July inside Voltaire, Seth McFarlane, who is an Emmy Award-winning entertainer.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: He's the voice of a lot of cartoons on the Fox Network.
- 9:45Sean McAllister: Um, he's also an incredible singer.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: He performed uh not too long ago at the Smith Center here in Las Vegas.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: Well, now he is coming back uh Thursday, July 3rd, Friday, July 4th, Saturday, July 5th with a 29-piece orchestra.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: In Voltaire.
- 10:04Sean McAllister: In Voltaire.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: That's a first, right?
- 10:07Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: That's gonna be like put on a tux and go have a classy night out.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, I again, I just can't explain how beautiful that room is.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: It's so beautiful if you've never been.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be this is gonna be a stunning show.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: That is.
- 10:21Sean McAllister: That should be absolutely fantastic.
- 10:25Sean McAllister: Looking forward to that.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Seth McFarlane coming up uh beginning of July at Voltaire.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I always think when these artists, like when he walked in there to look at the room, he's probably like, How did I land this?
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: Not that, but like it's well, it's a literally a dream come true.
- 10:38Sean McAllister: And when you think about uh theaters that that people may go into across the country, a lot of them are probably older buildings, you know, so they have the ornate decor and everything, but they're older.
- 10:51Sean McAllister: When you walk into Voltaire, it is like fresh and new, it has like art deco vibes, but it's very modern.
- 10:59Sean McAllister: And it's just visually, it takes your breath away.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: It does.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: It's a great, great room.
- 11:05Dayna Roselli: Um, but okay, so that was Mother's Day night.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: So let's go through my weekend.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: I staycationed at Fountain Blue with my mom.
- 11:13Dayna Roselli: She came in on Friday.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: We stayed there Friday and Saturday night, had a blast.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: My whole thing that this whole idea started because um I wanted to take my mom to see pit bull.
- 11:23Dayna Roselli: Now, and people are like, Your mom likes pitbull?
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yes, she does.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: And we've talked about it before, and I know we always talk about my mom does her Zumba class, but that's just have to like connect the dots for you.
- 11:33Dayna Roselli: She does Zumba in Zumba, they do a lot of really fun songs and a lot of Pitbull songs.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: So she's like, I love Pitbull.
- 11:40Dayna Roselli: She's through the years, she loves all this music.
- 11:43Dayna Roselli: So I was going to the show, got that all organized, um, got the tickets and everything.
- 11:49Dayna Roselli: But then a friend of mine who works amongst the crew over there said, Hey, um, have fun.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: I started going to Pitbull.
- 11:59Dayna Roselli: I'm like, yes.
- 12:00Dayna Roselli: And then, and then I was like, Do you think my mom could meet Pitbull?
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: And he was like, Let me see what I can do.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: And we made it happen.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 12:08Dayna Roselli: So before the show, on May, it was the Saturday before Mother's Day, we went backstage and I got to introduce my mom to Pitbull.
- 12:16Dayna Roselli: And what a moment.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: It was so great.
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: And I was laughing because she just acted so natural about him.
- 12:20Dayna Roselli: She was telling him stories about her Zumba.
- 12:22Dayna Roselli: But you know, he was so sweet.
- 12:23Dayna Roselli: Like he held her hand, he high-fived her, he was so engaging.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: What a nice guy.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: Like he came out, he knew my mom's name.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: He just, she just loved him.
- 12:35Sean McAllister: He's a great guy.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: Great guy.
- 12:38Dayna Roselli: So I just thanks to Pitbull and the crew.
- 12:42Dayna Roselli: Um, my friend Billy over at Live Nation.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: Thanks for making that happen.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: David over at Fountain Blue, uh, Blue Live Theater.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: That theater is so stunning.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: There's so many things I want to talk about.
- 12:50Dayna Roselli: First of all, Pitbull's show is incredible.
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: If you haven't been, it's so much fun.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: He's so wonderful.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: Um, he talks to you, it's intimate.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: His dancers are great, people in the crowd, dresses put pit bull, that's a thing.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: The fan club members and all that.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's a whole thing.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: It's an incredible show.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: He's coming back again in September and November.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: So go see him.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: If you have never been to a pit bull show, it's worth it.
- 13:16Dayna Roselli: And you know every single song, I promise you.
- 13:18Sean McAllister: You know every single song.
- 13:19Sean McAllister: And I know the sh pitbull shows that I've been to before, people were like out dancing in the aisles.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 13:26Sean McAllister: Oh because it's hard to you cannot sit still at a pit bull show.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: You can't sit still.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: It's so good.
- 13:31Dayna Roselli: So much arms in the air.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: It's so good.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, you can't, you know what I mean?
- 13:42Dayna Roselli: Every song is so good.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: It just, yeah.
- 13:45Dayna Roselli: And so many people have messaged me back on all the social platforms because I posted a video of my mom meeting Pitbull.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: I grabbed a little bit, I don't know, it was like 10 seconds or whatever.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: But anyway, um, sorry, I was just clearing my throat there.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: It sounded weird.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: But anyway, uh, so many people have messaged me saying I've I went to Pitbull's show whatever, a year ago, recently, last week, whatever it was, and they're like, it was a blast.
- 14:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, everyone loves it, you know, and so uh people excited that he's gonna be back again.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: Love the blue live theater.
- 14:16Dayna Roselli: I actually had not been in there.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: We went to see Justin Timberlake at the opening.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: And uh I was up in one of the balcony, I think.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: And then you and I went to see Kelly and Mark.
- 14:27Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: The filming there, the lot, but I mean, so it was a different.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: I hadn't been to a show in there, really, and I loved it.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: I thought it was great because it's big, but not too big, and just so high tech.
- 14:40Dayna Roselli: The sound was great, uh, it's roomy.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: I love the like even the, you know, like the concession stands and the merch side.
- 14:47Dayna Roselli: It just really the restrooms are right near all the entrance.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: It's just great.
- 14:50Dayna Roselli: It's a great theater.
- 14:51Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm glad they're doing so much over there.
- 14:53Dayna Roselli: And the American Music Awards will be held there coming up on Memorial Day, too.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: So also a good get for the Fountain Blue.
- 15:00Dayna Roselli: Um also, sorry I've got to go through all this, but I just have so many tips along the way, if you don't mind.
- 15:06Dayna Roselli: Uh, we stayed at the Fountain Blue, the rooms are gorgeous.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: We stayed in a double, you know, two queens.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: Um, and so, first of all, the beds are so comfortable, the sheets are amazing, the pillows, uh, the robe, the amenities.
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: They smell so good.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: I was like, oh, I couldn't wait to like wash my hair and use the shampoo and conditioner.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: That was wonderful.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: Uh, we had uh great commodations there, so that was nice.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: Um, it was busy.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: So again, just like last week, Vegas is not dead.
- 15:35Dayna Roselli: It wait, we had to wait a while for the elevator up and down to our room because people were taking turns going up and down to the pool, to the restaurants, up to the room.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: And I thought, wow, this is incredible.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: It is not like it's full, it's busy.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: Uh, we went out to the pool and uh like 9:30 in the morning, it was hard to get a chair.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: So at 9 30?
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, happy to see it again.
- 15:59Dayna Roselli: I was like, this is amazing.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: And it was great because it was a really warm weekend.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: So it was already 84 degrees.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: So everyone had the same idea.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: But um, a tip, because I went there the weekend before and it was kind of the same deal.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: Um, you go to this portion, you kind of turn the corner, and it's not, I'm not talking about Live Beach.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: You just, it's out by Oasis Pool.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: It's the 21 and over pool.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: A lot of people kind of don't really know it's there or don't kind of turn the corner a little bit.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: There's usually chairs there, super relaxing, a nice pool, waitresses, uh the whole nine.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: Um, so that's an area that you can usually snag a lounge chair.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: Then it starts to, you know, it's I think it's more like everyone rushes out and gets so nervous they're not gonna get a seat that they lay down a book, they lay down their towel, and they're there for a little bit, and then it it then there starts like movement.
- 16:50Sean McAllister: They filter out a little bit.
- 16:52Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: So, um, but again, happy to see it.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: It's a huge pool complex.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: I saw you went to the Golden Knights game there.
- 16:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, we went, they had a watch party out there, and that was great.
- 17:02Sean McAllister: They had the big screen set up.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:04Dayna Roselli: Went to Don's Prime, had never been again, trying things that I haven't been to.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: Incredible.
- 17:11Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: I'm not a lamb person, but we the lamb chops because my mom loves lamb.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: So good.
- 17:18Dayna Roselli: Uh the incredible steak.
- 17:20Dayna Roselli: The staff was so nice.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: Um it just the decor, it's like old school, new school in there, and that it was packed, but it was just so lovely.
- 17:29Dayna Roselli: And we they all have like uh there's like the red room and they're different themed rooms, colored rooms, anyway, I should say.
- 17:35Dayna Roselli: Um, but they were just so nice in recommending what we should drink and what we should eat.
- 17:38Dayna Roselli: Oh, the Caesar salad was incredible, just all of it.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: Don's prime can't like highly recommend.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: The meat was so flavorful, so flavorful.
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: So it was delicious.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: Uh next night went to China Club.
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: That was incredible as well.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: Now I'd been there before and I had duck because it was um kind of like uh they wanted us to try some of their signature things, and I know people love their duck.
- 18:01Dayna Roselli: Not my thing.
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Okay, just don't love it.
- 18:04Dayna Roselli: So I was excited to go there and like order, you know, off the menu and some of the things that I I wanted to try.
- 18:11Dayna Roselli: The lemon chicken was absolutely delicious.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: I can't even and they're great there because they'll be like, yeah, it's good, it's big enough for you and your mom to share.
- 18:18Dayna Roselli: You know, I love that.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: Like the nice when they point that out so that you're not over-ordering and end up with a whole bunch of stuff left over.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: Right, exactly.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: We had the fried rice with shrimp, amazing.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: We had this like spinach and mushroom dish, so good.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Uh, beautiful in there.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: I just, you know, it's just it's a great property for like I because I think I feel like every restaurant there is different.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: It you know what I mean?
- 18:44Dayna Roselli: It doesn't feel repetitive.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: There's like something for everyone.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: So loved that.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: Um, and we just had a great time.
- 18:49Dayna Roselli: So I haven't done a staycation I don't even know.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Maybe in like 13 years.
- 18:55Sean McAllister: So you were due.
- 18:56Dayna Roselli: I was due.
- 18:57Dayna Roselli: So that was really nice.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: And my mom loved it, and it was so nice.
- 19:00Dayna Roselli: So it just everyone was so helpful when I was like, you know, and and just to, you know, we've had a tough year, our family.
- 19:06Dayna Roselli: I wanted my mom to come in and just do get get her mind off things, and people helped make that happen for me.
- 19:12Dayna Roselli: So I appreciate everyone.
- 19:13Dayna Roselli: And Vegas is a great community, we help each other out, and you know, like when I asked the favor, like, could she meet Pitbull?
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: I didn't think that was gonna come through.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: And and then, like, you know, a couple weeks or three weeks later, I get this text, like, hey, and that like Billy didn't forget, he didn't forget to ask Armando, as he calls him, if he would meet my mom.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: So it just was so special, and everyone really bent over backwards.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: And so thanks to everyone.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: But um, you know, I I just think it's great that the Fountain Blue is doing so much, and yeah, we'll be over there for the American Music Awards that's coming up on uh May 26th.
- 19:50Sean McAllister: Yeah, May 26th, and we've got uh new details that we've learned about uh the American Music Awards.
- 19:58Sean McAllister: I think last time we talked about it, we didn't even know that it was going to be at Fountain Blue, but now we're getting uh details about performers.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: Uh we and we know some of the awards that are being handed out.
- 20:10Sean McAllister: Janet Jackson, who of course has her residency over at Resorts World, is going to be receiving the Icon Award this year.
- 20:20Sean McAllister: So good on Janet.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: I know, and she'll be doing shows at the same time at Resorts World.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: So you could, you know, it's great because she'll get the award and then you could pop over and see her live.
- 20:29Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: And I think it said she's performing too.
- 20:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she's going to perform.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: So that'll be that'll be really good.
- 20:34Sean McAllister: I mean, when you're getting the icon award, you kind of have to perform.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's gonna be great.
- 20:38Sean McAllister: And show remind people just how iconic you are.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she has shows at uh Resorts World through May 31st.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: So, you know, that's really good for her, too.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: Advertising to get people, if you haven't seen the show, you know, because she'll be there before and then after, like to go over and see her.
- 20:57Sean McAllister: Right.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: So it's like a good, it's a good little promotion for her.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 21:01Sean McAllister: And also uh a local organization, uh I shouldn't say local, a Vegas-based organization.
- 21:07Sean McAllister: They do stuff nationwide.
- 21:09Sean McAllister: Uh it's called the Easy Day Foundation.
- 21:11Sean McAllister: And what they do is they help uh members of the military transition into civilian life.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: There's a lot that goes into that.
- 21:20Sean McAllister: Uh, and they have a lot of partner organizations so that they can direct people for the needs that they uh specifically serve their life.
- 21:29Sean McAllister: Um but the easy day foundation has partnered with the American Music Awards to honor military members since the show is on Memorial Day.
- 21:37Sean McAllister: Uh that's an important part of uh what the broadcast is going to be.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: So they're going to have some special performances um for the Easy Day Foundation.
- 21:47Sean McAllister: Uh, there's going to be an award that's handed out to uh one of the music artists who has done a significant amount for members of the military throughout their career.
- 21:58Sean McAllister: So that's a really Nice, it's a nice tie-in, and I'm glad that the American Music Awards uh were able to come up with a partnership with Easy Day.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I know they're so excited about it.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Uh, we went over actually to Red Rock and we got a chance to talk with a couple of the founders, uh Frank Fertita and Landon Goulet.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: And I had gone to a gala when they did the kickoff, and I thought, gosh, this is such a great organization.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: You know, what have they been doing?
- 22:28Dayna Roselli: And they've been doing work, but they're like, you know, we've also been planning this.
- 22:33Dayna Roselli: It's been months and months and months of planning.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: We're super excited that it's finally happening.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: And so we talk to them a little bit about uh what we can expect.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: Um, to send in donations and some calls to action.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: So uh we'll have two performances that are branded Easy Day performances.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Um they'll be introduced by a veteran and a celebrity pair.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Um the veterans will give a good story about, you know, um, some of the programs that they've been through and how they helped them.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Um and then they'll introduce the artists, they'll perform, and then we'll have a QR code up on the screen for people to send in donations.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: Um, and we'll have two of those, and then we have for the very first time in AMA's history, we'll have um the veteran award that'll go to a celebrity or artist who's done the most impactful work for the veteran community.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: I love this because sometimes award shows are are on key dates, like your Memorial Day.
- 23:29Dayna Roselli: You're like, well, that's weird.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: This isn't a music award show, but it's on Memorial Day.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: But bringing awareness to this cause on a day like this kind of gives it, gives the award show in itself more meaning, I guess.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: I I think for sure.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: And I think that was one of the big reasons why, you know, the American Music Awards, this a 50-year franchise, you know, wanted to think about a way that they could create something that had more impact.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: And so I think, you know, when we started speaking with them and, you know, we put this idea together, we thought we could build kind of a modern award show where there is a reason to tune in that's not let's just give out awards to celebrities.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Jay Penske uh came to my office one day, who owns Penske Media, and and by extension, the the AMAs uh came to my office and we talked about this vision to turn Memorial Day into what it's meant to be, you know, not just a day for people to take off work and have a barbecue, but to really, you know, take a moment to think about the sacrifice that's been made to have the greatest country on the planet and uh understand why we have the freedom we have and pay some tribute to the people that have uh made it possible.
- 24:36SPEAKER_00: So actually, that night of the event, a hundred percent of the donations are gonna go through to our partner orgs.
- 24:42SPEAKER_00: And so if you're familiar with many charities, one of the big issues is there's some sort of loss, right?
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: When you give money to a charity, it doesn't make it all the way through.
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: And so that night we're committed to get a hundred percent of those dollars into the partner orgs, so it's pretty incredible.
- 24:58Sean McAllister: So you'll see the Easy Day Foundation alongside uh the biggest stars in music coming up Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th, live from Fountain Blue.
- 25:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and my friend Andy Wamsley, he lives in Las Vegas, he's designing the set, so make sure you pay attention.
- 25:15Dayna Roselli: He's one of the best.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: He has an Emmy, yeah.
- 25:19Dayna Roselli: For his American Idols uh award-winning um so he said the red carpet is really gonna be spectacular.
- 25:26Dayna Roselli: Looking forward to it.
- 25:27Sean McAllister: And we'll be there to uh chat with stars as they arrive, so we'll have that coverage for you.
- 25:32Sean McAllister: Uh coming up in early June.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: We talked last week about how Sean went on a cruise and we said we would have those tips for you.
- 25:40Dayna Roselli: Um and what we mean by tips is Sean was like, hey, this is a really great quick.
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: Sometimes you don't have two weeks to go on vacation.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: Not all of us have.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: We can just jet off to Europe and all that.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: So um it's a great, like if you live in Las Vegas or you live on the the West Coast or the western part of the United States, it's a good little four-day case.
- 26:03Sean McAllister: It was a four, we went on a four-day cruise, yeah.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: Cruise, yeah, right out of the Los Angeles area.
- 26:08Sean McAllister: Oh yeah, out of the uh port at Long Beach.
- 26:11Sean McAllister: Um, and some of these cruises get a bad rap.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: You know, the we went on the Catalina and Ensenada uh cruise.
- 26:19Sean McAllister: So we stopped at Catalina Island, which is just off the coast of uh Los Angeles, California, and then bopped over to uh Ensenada, Mexico.
- 26:29Sean McAllister: Um and it was it was great.
- 26:32Sean McAllister: So, first of all, it was we sailed with Carnival, but the reason why we did is because they had a new ship.
- 26:39Sean McAllister: The ship that we were on is uh less than a year old.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: Um, and it's designed, it was designed for a European cruise company.
- 26:48Sean McAllister: Anyway, made its way over here to the US as part of Carnival's fleet, and inside it looks like the Venetian, it is just ornate and classy and not what immediately comes to mind when you think of a Carnival cruise.
- 27:04Sean McAllister: So I was like, you know what?
- 27:06Sean McAllister: I would love to go on this boat because it just does look so nice and it's different and it's just a nice feel, and it was, it was great.
- 27:16Sean McAllister: Um so Catalina was a great little stop for the day.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: We rode around on the we got a tandem bike, just rode around on the island, and that was great.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: Um, but when we got to Ensenada, we had spoken to somebody else who uh went on that trip recently, and they recommended a wine tasting room that's a few blocks away from it's like a 10-15 minute walk from the actual port.
- 27:47Sean McAllister: Bodegas de Santo Tomas is the name of the winery.
- 27:52Sean McAllister: They actually have a a vineyard that's uh I don't know, an hour or so south of of Ensenada.
- 27:59Sean McAllister: Uh but they have a tasting room right in the center of town where they used to do all of their wine production.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: So if you are a wine lover, I would recommend going to the Bodegas de Santo Tomas wine tasting room in right in the center of town.
- 28:17Sean McAllister: They have a whole plaza, there's all these restaurants uh uh surrounding it.
- 28:21Sean McAllister: It's a really cute area, and the wine was delicious.
- 28:26Sean McAllister: But the tip that I have about that is just go on your own.
- 28:31Sean McAllister: Don't book a don't book it through like a tour group because when we uh initially arrived, there was a big tour group that was in there doing just the little small little tasting.
- 28:43Sean McAllister: And uh so we waited for them to clear out and then we essentially had all the workers to ourselves, and it was like a VIP experience.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: So if you're thinking about an ensinata trip, and I just mentioned this to some of our some media colleagues here, and they were like, Oh my gosh, my sister's birthday is coming up.
- 29:04Sean McAllister: That would be a perfect thing for us to do.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: Now, how easy was it to get to the cruise?
- 29:09Dayna Roselli: Like, tell me about that.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: Like, if you're driving in, if everyone's someone's like, I want to do that cruise, what did you drive in?
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: Is there a place to park?
- 29:15Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah, they've got a cruise affordable.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: I mean, I think it was$349 for four days.
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: Great.
- 29:23Sean McAllister: Um, so that's that's great.
- 29:25Sean McAllister: Uh, it's an easy drive to Long Beach from Las Vegas.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: They have a uh parking garage right there at the port.
- 29:34Sean McAllister: Great.
- 29:34Sean McAllister: So you park, you like walk down outside of the uh parking garage and you walk right into the port building.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: Great, nice and easy.
- 29:44Sean McAllister: So then you load in and getting off the ship, we got off the boat, walked right to the elevator to the parking garage, and drove home.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: Awesome.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: See, that's great.
- 29:55Dayna Roselli: And you said there were a lot of Vegas people on the ship, right?
- 29:58Dayna Roselli: There were.
- 29:58Sean McAllister: We watched a golden nights game, yeah, with everyone, right?
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: And they were like cheering, and that's a lot of fun.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: Well, it's just an easy, it's easy to get down to Long Beach.
- 30:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's an easy four-day cruise.
- 30:10Sean McAllister: A lot of people didn't even get off the ship, they just enjoyed everything that was on the ship.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:16Sean McAllister: Um but it was it was easy.
- 30:18Sean McAllister: It's a good little break.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, okay, good, good to know.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: So there you go.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: You know, we always talk about coming to Las Vegas, but if you live in Las Vegas, you live on the West Coast, you might want to go do a cruise.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, good little uh trip ideas we like to pass along.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 30:34Dayna Roselli: All right, well, we have more tips for you.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: Let's do them.
- 30:40Dayna Roselli: Okay, let's talk about the stage door.
- 30:43Dayna Roselli: I am a terrible Vegas insider.
- 30:45Dayna Roselli: When I tell you I didn't know it existed.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: I don't know how I missed this, but I was showing you.
- 30:50Dayna Roselli: I said, hey, my friend was coming to Vegas and showed this place that has like dollar bud lights and stuff.
- 30:57Dayna Roselli: And you were like, oh yeah, it's a stage.
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: I didn't even know it existed.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: So tell me about the stage door casino.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: So the stage door is kind of tucked back uh behind the Cromwell.
- 31:11Sean McAllister: So right there at Flamingo and uh Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 31:16Sean McAllister: Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard, right next door to Batista's Hole in the Wall.
- 31:20Sean McAllister: Okay, I do.
- 31:20Sean McAllister: Which is like an institution.
- 31:23Sean McAllister: It's an Italian restaurant that's been here forever.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: Well, the stage door has also kind of been here forever.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: It's wait, isn't that more behind?
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, you're right.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: Flamingo and Cromwell.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: Right, okay, yes.
- 31:33Dayna Roselli: Yep, so north of, I was gonna say Bailey's and it's horseshoe.
- 31:36Sean McAllister: Uh right, just across the street from the horseshoe.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: Yes, okay, got it.
- 31:39Sean McAllister: So the stage door has been there since uh the mid-70s.
- 31:43Sean McAllister: Um, it's a convenience store, it's a bar, and a casino?
- 31:49Sean McAllister: We must have table, like they have uh like bar top gaming in there.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: It's everything.
- 31:54Dayna Roselli: I didn't even know this was here.
- 31:56Dayna Roselli: Like, how did I miss this?
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: And they I go to Batista's home all the time.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: Well, I used to.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: I haven't been in a while.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: And people love it there.
- 32:04Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 32:05Sean McAllister: They watch Raiders games in there.
- 32:07Sean McAllister: I see Raiders, like the Raiders fan van is parked out there sometimes.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: I have seen that now.
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: Okay, that place.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: Yep, that place.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: Got it.
- 32:17Dayna Roselli: Dollar Bud or Bud Light bottles, they have dollar beers in there.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: $3.25 hot dogs in beer?
- 32:25Dayna Roselli: Like what?
- 32:26Sean McAllister: You get a hot dog, they're they're famous quarter pound hot dog.
- 32:30Sean McAllister: They've sold more than 500,000 of them since they opened.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: And I was reading reviews, and I've not had the hot dog personally, but people online say that is the best hot dog I have ever had.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: Remember, we went to um Pop's and did the cheesesteak.
- 32:50Dayna Roselli: We should go do the stage door.
- 32:52Sean McAllister: We need to have a stage door experience.
- 32:55Dayna Roselli: Oh, that needs to be we should do that next week.
- 32:57Dayna Roselli: We should shoot it for the TV show.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: We'll set that up.
- 32:59Sean McAllister: We will, and we'll see how much food and drink we can get for ten dollars.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: Oh, yes, let's do that.
- 33:04Dayna Roselli: That's a great idea.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: We just came up with a story idea sitting here during the audio podcast.
- 33:08Sean McAllister: But they always have drink deals.
- 33:10Sean McAllister: You can always get the dollar butter bud light bottle.
- 33:13Sean McAllister: So the stage door, if you're looking for cheap eats, cheap drinks, this is the place to go.
- 33:22Sean McAllister: And it's gonna be good stuff that you get.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:24Dayna Roselli: And it looks fun.
- 33:26Dayna Roselli: Like if you just want like a chill, fun.
- 33:29Sean McAllister: You it's the the stage door experience.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: Good to know.
- 33:33Dayna Roselli: Hey, here's something that's also good to know.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: The downtown Grand, they have a lot of really cool things going on on their pool deck.
- 33:40Dayna Roselli: Now, Sean, I know you got married up there.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Well, that was where your reception was.
- 33:44Sean McAllister: The reset we had a brunch.
- 33:45Sean McAllister: Brunch up there at the pool deck.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: I was there.
- 33:48Dayna Roselli: It feels like years and years and years ago, but it's actually not that long ago.
- 33:51Dayna Roselli: 2019?
- 33:52Sean McAllister: Six years ago?
- 33:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:53Sean McAllister: Six years ago this fall.
- 33:54Dayna Roselli: Feels like 20 years ago.
- 33:55Sean McAllister: Kind of does.
- 33:57Sean McAllister: It's because COVID happened right afterwards, and that just was like a time warp.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: Well, the British indie rock band Lime Garden, they are popular.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: They are doing a free night swim concert up there on the Citrus Grand Pool Deck.
- 34:12Dayna Roselli: And the downtown Grand uh wrote us and let us know this was happening.
- 34:16Dayna Roselli: And I thought, okay, let's share this because free is a big word around here in Vegas.
- 34:20Sean McAllister: It sure is.
- 34:21Dayna Roselli: People love a good freebie, right?
- 34:23Dayna Roselli: Doors open at seven o'clock.
- 34:25Dayna Roselli: Now, there's an event right where you have to claim tickets.
- 34:28Dayna Roselli: So I am gonna link that in the show notes.
- 34:31SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:31Dayna Roselli: And you can click in there and just reserve your tickets.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: But sounds fun.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: And I think they're gonna be doing a lot more stuff like this.
- 34:38Dayna Roselli: And hey, who doesn't love a good night swim with a good little British indie rock band?
