- 0:00Speaker 1: Toby and Chili mornings on demand on ninety seven point
- 0:03Speaker 1: one Wash at them Chili.
- 0:05Speaker 2: We're doing too much. I gotta be honest. It's ninety
- 0:08Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM, Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm look I'm happy, I'm up, I'm happy I'm here today.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I'm thankful that I got out of bed. I'm thankful
- 0:17Speaker 2: that I have a wardrobe full of clothes, some of
- 0:19Speaker 2: which don't fit right. That's my own fault, because of injuries.
- 0:23Speaker 2: That's the last time you're gonna hear me blame that.
- 0:25Speaker 2: But we've had a pretty hectic schedule off the air
- 0:28Speaker 2: the last couple of days, individually and collectively. And I
- 0:32Speaker 2: don't know about you, but I am ready to just
- 0:34Speaker 2: go home now.
- 0:37Speaker 3: One more day, okay, one more day. Today is just Thursday,
- 0:41Speaker 3: Tomorrow after tomorrow. Yes, enjoy the weekend doing that.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I know, and I would say that, you know what,
- 0:45Speaker 2: this would be a weekend that I would take myself
- 0:48Speaker 2: to the pool, regardless of feeling self conscious, because you know,
- 0:51Speaker 2: when you get injured sometimes you put on some weight.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I guess maybe I don't know, but you know what,
- 0:57Speaker 2: the way I'm going right now, I don't care. I
- 0:59Speaker 2: don't care if I fall asleep by the pool and
- 1:02Speaker 2: you have to gaze upon myself. That's right, because you
- 1:05Speaker 2: know what, it'll make me feel good. Good.
- 1:07Speaker 4: You should, you should definitely do that.
- 1:09Speaker 2: But it's been a rained supposedly this weekend, and that
- 1:11Speaker 2: might be a detriment. We'll see glass half full. Why
- 1:14Speaker 2: are you feeling good this morning?
- 1:15Speaker 3: I'm feeling good because you and I have something going
- 1:19Speaker 3: on and after the show, and I was grateful that
- 1:23Speaker 3: I was. I finally decided what to wear for said
- 1:27Speaker 3: thing after the show. So anyway, it's always a thing
- 1:31Speaker 3: right now. Usually don't have to worry about what we
- 1:33Speaker 3: look like because it's radio, but unfortunately we do have
- 1:36Speaker 3: to kind of look decent for this project we're doing.
- 1:39Speaker 4: And so I'm glad I found something in.
- 1:41Speaker 2: The ward I totally made the mistake and this could
- 1:44Speaker 2: we could probably talk about this later today. I made
- 1:47Speaker 2: the mistake of getting up after laying out clothes and
- 1:50Speaker 2: knowing that I was going to need to be on
- 1:52Speaker 2: time today. I changed the entire wardrobe equation at about
- 1:57Speaker 2: three am.
- 1:59Speaker 4: Oh yeah, even though you had pre selected.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yes, I decided I didn't like it. I didn't like
- 2:03Speaker 2: the way I looked at it, I'm like, this is
- 2:04Speaker 2: too frumpy. I don't like this. I don't like the
- 2:07Speaker 2: way this makes me feel to it makes me feel
- 2:09Speaker 2: around my gut it's tight. And then so I just
- 2:13Speaker 2: hit reset. But anyway, enough about that. You've got to
- 2:17Speaker 2: be feeling good this morning, because we're another day closer
- 2:19Speaker 2: to the weekend. So why are you feeling good? Eight
- 2:21Speaker 2: sixty six nine seven forty three sixty one. That's the number.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Thanks for waking up and Toby and till you the morning.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Top Stories at the Top of the Hour. On the way,
- 2:28Speaker 2: what are you working on?
- 2:29Speaker 3: A recent report revealed the states where they have the
- 2:32Speaker 3: best and worst tippers. DC actually showed up on one
- 2:37Speaker 3: of those lists, and you're gonna find out which one
- 2:39Speaker 3: it was.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Iran says it has attacked US bases in Kuwait and
- 2:49Speaker 3: Bahrain in retaliation for recent American strikes on Iran, and
- 2:55Speaker 3: it warned that if US aggression continues, the response is
- 2:58Speaker 3: going to expand to other US bases in the region.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Maine Democrat Graham Plattner is out of the US Senate
- 3:07Speaker 3: race after a woman accused him of sexually assaulting her
- 3:09Speaker 3: nearly five years ago. Maine Democrats are now going to
- 3:12Speaker 3: hold a convention to pick a new nominee to challenge
- 3:15Speaker 3: Republican Senator Susan Collins. In November, nearly three dozen people
- 3:20Speaker 3: were taken to area hospitals after an MTA bus crashed
- 3:23Speaker 3: into a building in Baltimore County last night, prompting officials
- 3:27Speaker 3: to declare a mass casualty incident.
- 3:30Speaker 4: One person is in critical condition.
- 3:33Speaker 3: The Lincoln Memorial reflecting Pool is being drained for the
- 3:37Speaker 3: second time in three months. Cruz started clearing out fireworks
- 3:41Speaker 3: debris and making repairs over the weekend. DC voters could
- 3:46Speaker 3: see a fog wa ban on.
- 3:49Speaker 4: The November ballot.
- 3:51Speaker 3: An animal rights group has submitted more than forty five
- 3:54Speaker 3: thousand signatures targeting duck livers that are produced through force feeding. Well,
- 3:59Speaker 3: the Emmy nomations have come out. HBO Max's Hacks leading
- 4:04Speaker 3: the comedy series, or rather the comedy category, with twenty
- 4:07Speaker 3: four nominations, while The Pit tops the drama field with
- 4:12Speaker 3: twenty five. The Emmys, by the way, are going to
- 4:14Speaker 3: be held September fourteenth in LA And finally, according to
- 4:18Speaker 3: a recent report, Delaware has the most generous tippers in
- 4:23Speaker 3: the entire country.
- 4:25Speaker 4: On the flip side.
- 4:26Speaker 3: California has the worst tippers, followed by DC forecast today
- 4:32Speaker 3: partly sunny skuys with scattered showers and thunderstorms later hies
- 4:35Speaker 3: around eighty six right now seventy three in Perceville.
- 4:39Speaker 2: And that's the news. We get top stories at the
- 4:41Speaker 2: top of the hour and we deliver it to you
- 4:43Speaker 2: with Toby and Chilly in the Morning ninety seven point
- 4:45Speaker 2: one wastch FM. And then I want to say this,
- 4:47Speaker 2: I think we are the only people who take time
- 4:50Speaker 2: in the DMV to actively stop and think about what
- 4:54Speaker 2: you're going through and what you're doing your morning mindset.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We'll get to that coming up in just a few
- 5:00Speaker 2: The reason why it's important is because maybe you need
- 5:02Speaker 2: it from somebody that's either outside of your immediate circle
- 5:06Speaker 2: or somebody that you maybe barely know. But we feel
- 5:10Speaker 2: like we know you, and I think you know us.
- 5:12Speaker 2: So stay there and let's talk about how you're doing
- 5:15Speaker 2: with some words that we hope will inspire coming up.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Washington's variety from the eighties, nineties and today it's ninety
- 5:22Speaker 2: seven point one WASHFM, Good Morning, Toby, A Chilly in
- 5:25Speaker 2: the Morning. Let's talk about how you're doing right now.
- 5:27Speaker 3: We want to get you into a better morning mindset
- 5:30Speaker 3: with a quote.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Tim Ferris is an author, motivational speaker. Some of his
- 5:35Speaker 2: books are among my most cherished when it comes to reading.
- 5:39Speaker 2: His studies on what successful people do, and he says,
- 5:43Speaker 2: this morning, what we fear doing most is usually what
- 5:47Speaker 2: we most need to do. What we fear doing most
- 5:52Speaker 2: is usually what we most need to do, and that
- 5:56Speaker 2: can apply to anything in life. It can apply to
- 5:59Speaker 2: your personal life, your family life, work life. There are
- 6:03Speaker 2: things you might be avoiding for whatever reason, but by
- 6:07Speaker 2: avoiding them, you're not handling what it is that could
- 6:10Speaker 2: be an obstacle in your life. The thing you avoid
- 6:13Speaker 2: today might be exactly what you need to move your
- 6:16Speaker 2: life forward. So think about what's on that list and
- 6:19Speaker 2: think about how you can move it off that list
- 6:21Speaker 2: today or tomorrow, because you still have time left in
- 6:24Speaker 2: this week. From Tim Ferris, we fear what we fear
- 6:27Speaker 2: doing most is usually what we most need to do.
- 6:31Speaker 2: So let's get on it all right, all of us
- 6:33Speaker 2: myself including Me's your morning mindset here at ninety seven
- 6:36Speaker 2: point one WASHFM. If you need it again, find it
- 6:38Speaker 2: on our social media just pick one. You'll see it
- 6:41Speaker 2: there and if you've got something you want to share
- 6:43Speaker 2: with the class, gets at the TOBEU chilipage at washfm
- 6:45Speaker 2: dot com and hang out for a few minutes.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Because, oh, they did a survey about people's morning routines,
- 6:51Speaker 3: and you may be shocked to learn at the amount
- 6:54Speaker 3: of people who do not need an alarm to get
- 6:57Speaker 3: up for work every.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Day because they're superhuman and not of this planet. Are
- 7:02Speaker 2: you kidding me, we'll get the rundown. Don't go anywhere
- 7:06Speaker 2: attension morning type people. There's a new survey out that
- 7:10Speaker 2: we think you might want to pay attention to because
- 7:13Speaker 2: it says a lot about you who arouse early in
- 7:17Speaker 2: the morning. So we'll be and chilly in the morning.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Ninety seven point one watch FM, so chilli. Let's hit
- 7:22Speaker 2: the stats on this survey because it's a little bit shocking.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Everybody has a morning routine.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Shocking part here is that only thirty seven people thirty
- 7:31Speaker 3: seven percent of people need an alarm to wake up.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Half of them just wake up naturally when they're supposed to, which,
- 7:36Speaker 3: to you and I is crazy because we have to
- 7:39Speaker 3: get up ridiculously early. I mean in the middle of
- 7:41Speaker 3: the night. So I can see why we can't rely
- 7:44Speaker 3: on our natural body to.
- 7:45Speaker 4: Wake us up.
- 7:46Speaker 2: What is this sorcery?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Who are these people?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Where do they come from? And why?
- 7:50Speaker 3: I know you're listening right now, you're going, Yeah, man,
- 7:53Speaker 3: I haven't used an alarm in years.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Well, good for it for you, because I think that
- 7:57Speaker 2: anytime I don't have an alarm, there's trouble.
- 8:00Speaker 3: My dad when he was working, he was a custom
- 8:03Speaker 3: tailor and we live in Tyson's Vienna, and if he
- 8:06Speaker 3: would go to his shop in Methesda, he never used
- 8:09Speaker 3: an alarm. My dad was one of these people that
- 8:11Speaker 3: would naturally wake up at six thirty in the morning
- 8:14Speaker 3: and get ready.
- 8:14Speaker 4: For the day.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Did you ever find out what planet he comes from?
- 8:18Speaker 2: Because that's just superhuman. I can't fathom it. Even when
- 8:22Speaker 2: I didn't work this schedule, that's true, I still needed
- 8:26Speaker 2: an alarm to get myself up and to do the
- 8:29Speaker 2: things I needed to do, from getting my kid to
- 8:31Speaker 2: school too, or even when she was with her mom
- 8:33Speaker 2: while I was in co parenting mode. Yeah, I'd still
- 8:36Speaker 2: need to get up because there were things that needed
- 8:37Speaker 2: to be done.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And on the weekends too. I don't set an alarm
- 8:41Speaker 3: per se. But if I had to commit to something
- 8:44Speaker 3: I don't trust myself enough, at least as a safety neck, that.
- 8:49Speaker 4: Alarm is set.
- 8:49Speaker 2: There's some other interesting stuff on this list about the
- 8:52Speaker 2: first thing people do in the morning, from coffee and
- 8:54Speaker 2: brushing their teeth forty four percent to swigging down some
- 8:57Speaker 2: water thirty six percent and then thirty five percent and
- 9:00Speaker 2: eat breakfast. If you want to see the entire rundown,
- 9:02Speaker 2: of course, we have it for you. Find it the
- 9:04Speaker 2: Toby and chillipage at washchipfilm dot com and let us
- 9:06Speaker 2: know if you want. Feel free to tap that talkback
- 9:08Speaker 2: microphone tell us are you one of these people that
- 9:10Speaker 2: needs an alarm? Please make us feel like we're not
- 9:13Speaker 2: so alone here at ninety seven point one watch FM
- 9:16Speaker 2: the News on the Waytop stories at the top of
- 9:18Speaker 2: the hour. What's going on?
- 9:19Speaker 3: A recent survey looked at how differently men and women
- 9:22Speaker 3: plan vacations, and I'll share the results of that coming
- 9:26Speaker 3: up Top Stories, Top of the Hour. Iran's Revolutionary Guard
- 9:33Speaker 3: says it has launched attacks on US bases in Kuwait
- 9:36Speaker 3: and Bahrain in retaliation for recent American strikes on Iran,
- 9:41Speaker 3: and the group also warned that the response could expand
- 9:44Speaker 3: if US actions continue. Federal appealse Court has denied the
- 9:50Speaker 3: President's request to restore his name to the Kennedy Center
- 9:54Speaker 3: while his legal challenge continues. Now, the judges rule there
- 9:57Speaker 3: was no evidence the President or the Kenned Centered would
- 10:00Speaker 3: suffer irreparable harm by keeping his name off the building.
- 10:04Speaker 3: During this appeal, Montgomery County has launched a portal to
- 10:08Speaker 3: track ice activity on county property. The tool lets residents
- 10:13Speaker 3: anonymously report encounters, including whether agents were wearing masks. Rockville
- 10:19Speaker 3: has become the first city in Maryland to ban landlords
- 10:22Speaker 3: from using algorithmic software to set rental prices. City leaders
- 10:27Speaker 3: say this move is aimed at preventing rent price fixing.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Fairfax County looking at ways to make it easier and
- 10:34Speaker 3: faster to open home daycares. Right now, the permitting process
- 10:39Speaker 3: can take up to two hundred and fifty one days.
- 10:42Speaker 3: Two proposals are on the table that would cut the
- 10:45Speaker 3: red tape and allow more kids per home facility, and
- 10:49Speaker 3: according to a recent survey, seventy six percent of women's
- 10:54Speaker 3: group trips never make it past the planning stage. For
- 10:59Speaker 3: trips that do happen, planning takes nearly nineteen hours, eleven
- 11:04Speaker 3: days and more than eighty messages, with women often handling destinations,
- 11:09Speaker 3: lodging and flights. Forecast for today, we'll have partly sunny
- 11:13Speaker 3: skies with a chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms later.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Hi's around eighty six right now, seventy three in Potomac And.
- 11:20Speaker 2: That's the news with Toby Achilli in the morning. You
- 11:22Speaker 2: get top stories at the top of the hours. Sit
- 11:25Speaker 2: right there. Why because in a few minutes we're going
- 11:28Speaker 2: to talk about AI, specifically the AI actor by the
- 11:31Speaker 2: name of Tilly Norwood, who now has her first starring
- 11:37Speaker 2: role on the silver screen. How do you feel about that?
- 11:43Speaker 2: It completely made up, not real artificial intelligence based actor.
- 11:50Speaker 2: What do you think this is going to mean for
- 11:51Speaker 2: the entertainment industry as a whole. Let's unpack it, don't
- 11:55Speaker 2: go anywhere. Toby and Chilly in the morning. It's ninety
- 11:59Speaker 2: seven point one. Watch FM eight six six ninety two,
- 12:02Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one call us. Now tell us
- 12:04Speaker 2: what you think about AI actors. Did you hear the
- 12:07Speaker 2: news this week? If you watched extra, you saw Tillie Norwood,
- 12:11Speaker 2: who's not real. It's an AI creation an actor, an
- 12:15Speaker 2: AI actor who's going to start in their first movie
- 12:19Speaker 2: role in a comedy, and people feel some sort of
- 12:23Speaker 2: way about this.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it was produced by the same studio
- 12:26Speaker 3: that created her. And of course the sag After Union,
- 12:29Speaker 3: which is the union that has actors and such, is
- 12:32Speaker 3: not for this project because it's taking away a job
- 12:35Speaker 3: from a human. The problem here is this is happening
- 12:39Speaker 3: with music. You and I have talked about this on
- 12:41Speaker 3: the radio, about AI singers or AI songs. It was
- 12:45Speaker 3: a matter of time before AI actors started popping up
- 12:49Speaker 3: on the big screen. As a person who goes to movies,
- 12:54Speaker 3: how do you feel about integration of AI now in roles?
- 13:00Speaker 2: It doesn't matter to me, honestly, because I'm a guy
- 13:02Speaker 2: who likes Pixar movies. When Toy Story came out, it
- 13:06Speaker 2: was obvious that it was what it was. They're not
- 13:08Speaker 2: hiding that this is a made up actor, that it's AI.
- 13:12Speaker 2: They're not trying to pass it off as being real.
- 13:15Speaker 2: So to me, if the story's good, no harm, no foul.
- 13:18Speaker 2: But I do acknowledge that there are some scary, scary
- 13:22Speaker 2: things that could be done with AI if you don't
- 13:26Speaker 2: put some protections in place.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of people are going to be out
- 13:29Speaker 3: of the entertainment industry because if AI is going to
- 13:32Speaker 3: be cheaper to create for any movie role, then why
- 13:35Speaker 3: would you pay the George Cloones or the other Zendea's
- 13:40Speaker 3: a lot of money when you can just make up
- 13:43Speaker 3: a person on a computer program.
- 13:45Speaker 4: I mean, it's just I'm not a fan, and I
- 13:47Speaker 4: don't think I would go see a movie.
- 13:49Speaker 3: And if we collectively as a society don't go and
- 13:53Speaker 3: pay to see movies with AI actors, eventually they'll stop
- 13:57Speaker 3: doing it, all right.
- 13:58Speaker 2: So I think it's all about this story, and you
- 14:01Speaker 2: have very, very firm feelings about this, and I respect those.
- 14:05Speaker 2: So what do you think about AI actors taking over Hollywood?
- 14:10Speaker 2: That's right, voice, likeness, all of it invented in a
- 14:14Speaker 2: box called a computer. Tell us your thoughts eight sixty
- 14:16Speaker 2: six ninety two seven forty three sixty one. Are you
- 14:19Speaker 2: four or against AI in the entertainment industry? Give us
- 14:23Speaker 2: a call. There's no right or wrong answer. We just
- 14:25Speaker 2: want to know what your temperature is on this and
- 14:28Speaker 2: we will discuss as we keep this thing moving. On
- 14:32Speaker 2: a Thursday morning, it's ninety seven point one was FM.
- 14:35Speaker 2: By the way, we're guaranteed human AI in the entertainment industry.
- 14:41Speaker 2: We're talking about it this morning and you can join
- 14:43Speaker 2: the conversation eight sixty six, ninety two, seven forty three
- 14:46Speaker 2: sixty one Toby and Chilly in the morning at ninety
- 14:48Speaker 2: seven point one wash CHEFM. Now if you missed it,
- 14:50Speaker 2: here's the backstory.
- 14:51Speaker 3: There is an AI actress named Tilly who's about to
- 14:55Speaker 3: star in a major movie, and we were wondering, since
- 14:58Speaker 3: this is now becoming a thing, whether you're for or
- 15:01Speaker 3: against this technology.
- 15:03Speaker 2: In Ashburn, Kenneth, you got thoughts. I am very much
- 15:07Speaker 2: against AI and movies. Well, there's something to be said
- 15:10Speaker 2: about being very clear about where you stand, specifically why
- 15:14Speaker 2: it's a slippery slope. Any sooner or later, we won't
- 15:17Speaker 2: need actors anymore.
- 15:18Speaker 5: And when that happens, movies just won't feel special anymore.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Yeah, because what makes it special is true human emotion
- 15:25Speaker 3: that's being conveyed on the screen.
- 15:27Speaker 2: I just don't agree, I think, sir, with all due respect,
- 15:31Speaker 2: I think you're being a little bit over dramatic about it.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I think AI is just like animation at the beginning,
- 15:38Speaker 2: it's all about a good story and if it takes
- 15:41Speaker 2: you to a place where you can escape, it's not
- 15:44Speaker 2: a bad thing.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but animation is voiced by human actors that can
- 15:48Speaker 3: convey emotions.
- 15:50Speaker 2: Through their voice acting in a lot of cases. But
- 15:52Speaker 2: the one inevitable thing about the entertainment industry is the
- 15:55Speaker 2: word change. And you can either keep up with change
- 15:59Speaker 2: or get left behind. Chelsea and Kent Lyn's you've got
- 16:02Speaker 2: some thoughts this morning. Go ahead.
- 16:03Speaker 4: I am somewhere in the middle.
- 16:05Speaker 2: Well, that's a good place to be.
- 16:06Speaker 4: What are the two sides you're considering here?
- 16:08Speaker 5: I think AI is an amazing tool for things like editing,
- 16:11Speaker 5: visual effects, translations, and you know, just.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Beating up repetitive work. But when it starts.
- 16:17Speaker 5: Replacing the creativity and performances or writing that come from
- 16:21Speaker 5: real people, that's where I start to get uneasy.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, you stated it very very well. I
- 16:27Speaker 3: would agree with everything you said.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I just don't think you can see AI on a
- 16:30Speaker 2: stage performing some sort of a musical.
- 16:32Speaker 4: Really, No, they do. They already have holograms.
- 16:35Speaker 2: Hello, I'm not worried about holograms. Talk about real people.
- 16:38Speaker 2: If you're a fan of Broadway, you're going to go
- 16:40Speaker 2: see people on a stage perform.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Well, this is a version of that. That's what we're saying.
- 16:44Speaker 3: We would rather see real people on the big screen.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Movies are a little bit different. But it's clear to
- 16:49Speaker 2: me that we will not solve this, which is fast becoming,
- 16:52Speaker 2: if it's not already, one of the biggest debates of
- 16:54Speaker 2: our time. So what do you think you've got time?
- 16:57Speaker 2: Leave us a voice note if you want. You're listening
- 16:59Speaker 2: on your iHeart app that microphone. Tell us what you
- 17:01Speaker 2: think about AI and the entertainment industry and stay there.

- 21:48Speaker 2: right around seven to ten after Top Stories at the
- 21:50Speaker 2: top of the hour, and stay right there because Nike.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Has come out with a new pair of shoes that
- 21:56Speaker 4: helps boost your focus.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Find out what they're called and what this means for
- 22:03Speaker 2: athletics and the person who needs a little more focus
- 22:07Speaker 2: in you Coming up, Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 22:11Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash FM over in beaverts
- 22:15Speaker 2: in Oregon. They've been very busy at Nike headquarters coming
- 22:18Speaker 2: up with something new. Have you heard about Nike mind?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Check this out? You're gonna learn something today about technology meeting.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Footwear, yeah, meeting your brain activity.
- 22:30Speaker 4: So Nike mind are these new sneakers?
- 22:33Speaker 3: I guess they're anatomically mapped with these foam nodes right
- 22:38Speaker 3: on the soul that move independently. How they say, they
- 22:42Speaker 3: piston like rhythm and it stimulates pressure points that are
- 22:45Speaker 3: connected to sensory regions of your brain.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Now this is a good thing, they say, because this
- 22:52Speaker 2: sensory input will be strengthening the mind body connection, will
- 22:57Speaker 2: make you more stable. Uh huh, you'll move with efficiency,
- 23:01Speaker 2: focus and mindfulness. Sounds to me like they've created a
- 23:04Speaker 2: therapist that will exist on your feet in the form
- 23:07Speaker 2: of shoes.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I know that the athlete is the person that they
- 23:10Speaker 3: have in mind, because before you step out onto let's
- 23:14Speaker 3: say a basketball court, you need to get out of
- 23:17Speaker 3: your head, so to speak, and really get into the
- 23:20Speaker 3: moment right before you go on and play. But I
- 23:24Speaker 3: think this could be helpful for even regular people before
- 23:27Speaker 3: a big presentation or before anything as big as about
- 23:30Speaker 3: to go down. It kind of helps you get out
- 23:33Speaker 3: of your spiraling and more focus.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Get out of your own way. Yeah, minus the loud
- 23:39Speaker 2: music that sometimes helps and fires you up. And pumps
- 23:41Speaker 2: you up. But what I'm gathering is that this is
- 23:44Speaker 2: not like a performance shoe. We're not going to see
- 23:46Speaker 2: a bunch of athletes wearing this. This is one of
- 23:48Speaker 2: those shoes that you wear on your own time, when
- 23:51Speaker 2: you're training and doing your own thing.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Before a game or after a game, not during the game.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Right right, right?
- 23:57Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Would you be interested in something like these Nike mind shoes?
- 24:02Speaker 2: Now that we've told you about it? What are your thoughts?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Eight six, six, nine two three sixty one is the number,
- 24:09Speaker 2: or if you want and it's easier, tap the talkback microphone,
- 24:12Speaker 2: jump into the conversation.
- 24:13Speaker 3: You know, anything that stops me from ruminating. I'm a
- 24:16Speaker 3: big fan of.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Anything that keeps me somewhat focused. I'm a big fan
- 24:20Speaker 2: of this ADHD thing. Got to tell you Toby and
- 24:23Speaker 2: Chilly in the morning. It's ninety seven point one, WASHEFM
- 24:26Speaker 2: Top Stories at the Top of the Hour on the
- 24:27Speaker 2: way next, what's going on?
- 24:29Speaker 3: A new survey looked at who or what Americans turned
- 24:33Speaker 3: to for financial advice, and I'll be sharing the results
- 24:37Speaker 3: of that shortly.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Coming up on Top Stories, Top.

- 25:01Speaker 3: Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it launched attacks on US bases
- 25:05Speaker 3: in Kuwait and Bahrain in retaliation for recent American strikes
- 25:09Speaker 3: on Iran. The group also warned the response that could
- 25:12Speaker 3: expand if US actions continue. A federal appeals court has
- 25:17Speaker 3: denied the President's request to restore his name to the
- 25:20Speaker 3: Kennedy Center while his legal challenge continues. Judges ruled that
- 25:24Speaker 3: there is no evidence the President or the Kennedy Center
- 25:26Speaker 3: would suffer irreparable harm by keeping his name off the
- 25:30Speaker 3: building during the appeal. Montgomery County has launched a portal
- 25:34Speaker 3: to track ice activity on county property. The tool allows

- 25:46Speaker 1: Rockville is now the first city.

- 26:29Speaker 3: a new survey finds that only thirty two percent of
- 26:32Speaker 3: American investors are using a financial advisor, while many prefer
- 26:37Speaker 3: managing money on their own. Most DIY investors turn to friends, family,
- 26:43Speaker 3: financial websites, and YouTube for guidance or Casper. Today will
- 26:48Speaker 3: have partly sunny skies with some scattered showers and thunderstorms later.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Highs around eighty six. Right now seventy four in Frederick.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Tell you friends, you get your news top stories at
- 26:57Speaker 2: the top of the hour with ninety seven point one
- 26:59Speaker 2: was Chef m Chilly in the morning coming up in
- 27:01Speaker 2: just a few so you hear what California is leading
- 27:04Speaker 2: the way with once again. Seams products that we all
- 27:09Speaker 2: need are soon going to well have a little more
- 27:13Speaker 2: clarity while they sit on the shelves. It's your favorite
- 27:17Speaker 2: grocery store. We'll tell you all about what California is
- 27:20Speaker 2: up to in minute. When you go to the grocery store,
- 27:23Speaker 2: it's ninety seven point one WASHFM. We're Toby and Chili
- 27:26Speaker 2: in the morning. Are you one of these people that
- 27:28Speaker 2: checks the dates on the packages? Now, if we were
- 27:31Speaker 2: to go through your refrigerator, what would we find with
- 27:34Speaker 2: those used by sell by? Good bye? Get rid of
- 27:39Speaker 2: this by dates that they put on things. So it's
- 27:43Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHFM. Here's what's going on in California.
- 27:47Speaker 3: They're getting rid of the confusing sell by dates on
- 27:50Speaker 3: their food packaging because shoppers don't know how to interpret
- 27:56Speaker 3: that and they end up throwing away food because they're
- 27:59Speaker 3: not really sure when that expires. So now companies will
- 28:02Speaker 3: have to standardize labels to just these two terms. The
- 28:06Speaker 3: products will either say use by for safety and best
- 28:11Speaker 3: if used by for peak freshness.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I love that because I personally have thrown away thousands
- 28:18Speaker 2: and thousands of dollars worth of stuff because it got
- 28:22Speaker 2: too close to that date or maybe even one day
- 28:25Speaker 2: past that date, and then I get scared of what
- 28:27Speaker 2: I don't know? Am I drinking milk? It's not good.
- 28:30Speaker 2: If I have this, am I going to get food poisoning?
- 28:33Speaker 2: Because I hate food poisoning. I used to get it
- 28:36Speaker 2: all the time, and I blamed the dates and trying
- 28:39Speaker 2: to get around the dates.
- 28:41Speaker 3: You don't like the vagueness of the sell buy, and
- 28:43Speaker 3: I get that because some sell buys you can wait
- 28:46Speaker 3: like a few days. Others you can wait a couple
- 28:49Speaker 3: of weeks. It varies from product to product. And the
- 28:51Speaker 3: fact that they're doing this means that six million tons
- 28:55Speaker 3: of food that Californians toss out every year will be reduced.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Well, that's a good thing. It comes to food insecurity,
- 29:01Speaker 2: not wasting food. Let me tell you, I hope this
- 29:04Speaker 2: is the beginning of something. I love this California. I
- 29:06Speaker 2: think it's great standardize everything when it comes to our food,
- 29:10Speaker 2: because right now it's a hot mess. Nobody knows what
- 29:13Speaker 2: anything means, and nobody knows if you can trust what's
- 29:16Speaker 2: actually on a label, and that's not a good thing.
- 29:22Speaker 2: There's any one thing I know for sure in this life.
- 29:24Speaker 2: That heat we experienced last week, it'll be back again
- 29:28Speaker 2: because summer ninety seven point one wash f M Toby
- 29:31Speaker 2: and chilly in the morning, and when it gets back.
- 29:33Speaker 2: You're gonna need to know this.
- 29:35Speaker 3: Car experts say you should follow the four to twenty
- 29:38Speaker 3: rule to cool down your car, So open all four
- 29:40Speaker 3: of your windows for about twenty seconds and then close
- 29:44Speaker 3: them before you turn on the AC.
- 29:46Speaker 2: That's the four to twenty rule. I thought they might
- 29:49Speaker 2: be referring to something else. Ninety seven point one wash
- 29:52Speaker 2: f M. Well thinking about a staycation in that one
- 29:57Speaker 2: hotel downtown in DC. Well, you might want to think again.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Ninety seven point one wat Chef M.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Toby and Chile in the Morning Orkan came out with
- 30:06Speaker 3: their annual ranking of the most bed bug infested cities
- 30:10Speaker 3: in DC. Came in seventh, but even worse at number
- 30:13Speaker 3: one Chicago.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Nay, we about to bounce up out of here, but
- 30:23Speaker 2: thank you so much for waking up with us today

- 30:30Speaker 3: We want to leave you though, with a quote to
- 30:32Speaker 3: get you into a good morning mindset before Jenny Chase
- 30:35Speaker 3: gets in here.
- 30:35Speaker 2: And this comes to us from Tim Ferris. Today, what
- 30:38Speaker 2: we fear doing most is usually what we most need
- 30:43Speaker 2: to do. What we fear doing most is usually what
