Wilmington is honoring beloved local skater Alec Chambers by renaming Greenfield Grind Skate Park in his memory—officially becoming Alec Chambers Skate Park. The 32-year-old, who died tragically in a hit-and-run outside a bar last December, was a fixture at the park and a cornerstone of Wilmington’s skate scene. After a city council vote in April and a petition with over 6,000 signatures, the dedication ceremony will take place this Friday at 2 PM on Willard Street—a fitting tribute to a life lived loud, loved, and fully in motion.
