- 0:14Speaker 3: criminal record dating back to nineteen ninety eight. Yeah, okay, burglary,
- 0:19Speaker 3: all right, the deadly weapon rets evading police.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Okay, so the presumption is against him. Okay, I'll agree.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Geez, I'll allow.
- 0:32Speaker 5: It, and now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen.
- 0:37Speaker 5: Here's Bill handle. Let me turn on the mic. Good morning, everybody.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Handle here. It's a Honday, Wednesday.
- 0:47Speaker 2: November twelfth, last dry day for a few days. A
- 0:52Speaker 2: big storm is a coming hello to the crowd.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Neil, good morning, Good morning? Will it wolf Esquire?
- 1:00Speaker 1: Are you okay? Two days now? I haven't slept very well.
- 1:04Speaker 4: So, but you want to take a nap? That's what
- 1:07Speaker 4: we all do during Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 2: We were talking about that, and I don't nap, but
- 1:11Speaker 2: at night when I watched TV, what I do end
- 1:14Speaker 2: up doing is falling asleep on the couch, sitting up
- 1:17Speaker 2: my head lolling and drool coming out of the side
- 1:20Speaker 2: of my mouth. Lindsay says, it's a very sexy.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Look.
- 1:24Speaker 4: Do you remember when you and I were so excited
- 1:27Speaker 4: to go to the Persian Palace and hang out with
- 1:29Speaker 4: dom Dela Wise to show him The Life of Brian.
- 1:32Speaker 4: And he fell asleep during the opening credits. You remember that, Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 4: in your theater.
- 1:37Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:38Speaker 4: He fell asleep right like the second it started. We'd
- 1:41Speaker 4: told him how great the Life of Brian was and
- 1:43Speaker 4: he's got.
- 1:43Speaker 1: To see it, and I fall asleep. Yeah. And good morning,
- 1:48Speaker 1: good morning, and Amy.
- 1:50Speaker 2: There you are, Good morning, Cono, good morning, Slip, great, excellent.
- 1:55Speaker 1: And I saw Will in studio with you, Amy.
- 2:00Speaker 6: He was in studio. Now he's back in his poset.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Okay, So hello Will, Good morning Bill, good morning.
- 2:06Speaker 1: You know, I'm just reading an article. Let me get
- 2:08Speaker 1: this right.
- 2:09Speaker 2: It's uh, Pope Leo is having a bunch of Hollywood
- 2:13Speaker 2: folks going to the Vatican.
- 2:15Speaker 1: They're doing whatever the hell they're doing.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Oh, it's the Roman Catholics church jubilee celebration.
- 2:22Speaker 1: And so he talked about.
- 2:23Speaker 2: His films, his favorite films, his four favorite films.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Here's a shocker, right, Let me get this right.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Uh, it's a uh, it's a wonderful life, right obviously,
- 2:36Speaker 2: Frank Capra sound of music.
- 2:41Speaker 4: The hills are alive.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, hills are alive.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Here we go ordinary people, okay, weird and it's what's
- 2:51Speaker 2: the other one?
- 2:52Speaker 1: Life is beautiful?
- 2:54Speaker 6: Yeah, life is I don't remember.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Oh it's a it's a Holocaust film.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, but Oscar Award. It's basically dead us.
- 3:01Speaker 6: You know, it's all like all the Holocaust about angels
- 3:03Speaker 6: and demons.
- 3:05Speaker 2: No, they didn't make the cut. Tell you what else
- 3:06Speaker 2: didn't make the cut? Which was very close, as Debbie
- 3:09Speaker 2: does Rome, it was very close.
- 3:11Speaker 4: Oh boy, okay that a can't what that of can't can't?
- 3:19Speaker 2: Oh?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Got it? Fair enough?
- 3:21Speaker 2: All right, guys, we've got a fair amount to talk about.
- 3:24Speaker 2: The storm coming in. That's going to be news certainly tomorrow,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and the shutdown is going to continue.
- 3:32Speaker 1: It's it's going to be over.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I think today is the vote, correct, with the Senate
- 3:37Speaker 2: votes today, and then it goes.
- 3:38Speaker 6: To the House or the Senate's already done.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They voted completely all right, yes, and.
- 3:43Speaker 3: So the House members are making their way back and
- 3:45Speaker 3: they're expecting a vote sometime late this supp but.
- 3:48Speaker 2: The members it may be kind of a delay because
- 3:51Speaker 2: the members are getting on airplanes and there are lots
- 3:54Speaker 2: and lots of delays. A couple of guys were on
- 3:57Speaker 2: their motorcycles drive a thousand miles or motorcycling one thousand miles.
- 4:02Speaker 2: A lot of fun rental cars, I mean, anywhere anyway
- 4:06Speaker 2: they can get.
- 4:06Speaker 1: All right, are we ready to do it?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Handle on the news on this Wednesday Morning with Amy
- 4:14Speaker 2: Neil and Me lead story. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. He's
- 4:22Speaker 2: a pretty good looking guy too. Have you noticed I think, Yeah, No,
- 4:27Speaker 2: I haven't. Okay, I do you know, I get a
- 4:28Speaker 2: little excited, you know, I get a little I get
- 4:30Speaker 2: a little bulgy when I see.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Him, very little.
- 4:35Speaker 2: No, well, it's sort of a semi semi bulge.
- 4:39Speaker 4: You're the only person I know that gets splinter.
- 4:43Speaker 1: In any case.
- 4:45Speaker 2: He has said, Well, he said if the government doesn't
- 4:48Speaker 2: move to reopen soon, and they will be, but it's
- 4:51Speaker 2: going to take a while. The flight delays and disruptions
- 4:55Speaker 2: are actually going to get worse over the next even
- 4:59Speaker 2: several weeks. In terms of bringing back the air traffic controllers.
- 5:04Speaker 2: It doesn't happen immediately, so we'll see, you're going to
- 5:08Speaker 2: see more delays. I can't imagine how many delays, and
- 5:11Speaker 2: then weather delays on top of that, and no fight.
- 5:18Speaker 2: You want to ride in a car or that great
- 5:22Speaker 2: Queen song riding a bike, bicycle, bicycle.
- 5:27Speaker 4: I want to ride my bicycle.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great. It's a great song.
- 5:32Speaker 6: Not practical, but a great song.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I love that song. I'm a big fan of Queen.
- 5:38Speaker 3: Uh. Snap payments are still stopped. The Supreme Court has
- 5:42Speaker 3: extended an order that blocks full SNAP payments which were
- 5:47Speaker 3: ordered by lower courts. So now the order extending the
- 5:52Speaker 3: order blocking payments will expire before midnight on Thursday. Now,
- 5:55Speaker 3: the Senate has already approved the bill to end the shutdown.
- 5:58Speaker 3: The House is going to plan a on it today,
- 6:01Speaker 3: so that would reopen the government and extend SNAP benefits
- 6:05Speaker 3: for another year, although for people who have not received
- 6:08Speaker 3: their Snap benefits since funding ran out, we don't know
- 6:11Speaker 3: how long it's going to be until they get reinstated.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Now look at the politics of this.
- 6:15Speaker 2: You have Snap benefits right and the court order, and
- 6:22Speaker 2: there everything is stopped. The court orders the benefits to
- 6:26Speaker 2: be paid come hell or high water for the month
- 6:28Speaker 2: of November. The Trump administration appeals that order, saying we
- 6:35Speaker 2: don't want to give full Snap benefits, only a partial benefits,
- 6:39Speaker 2: And of course the Supreme court went ahead and backed
- 6:43Speaker 2: up Trump. Now the politics of this is the Trump
- 6:46Speaker 2: administration is saying no to full snap benefits for this month.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And yet is it going to hurt politically.
- 6:56Speaker 2: No. There was a sixty minute interview that I saw
- 6:59Speaker 2: that I thought was stunning. It was about farmers and
- 7:03Speaker 2: they interviewed one farmer who was about to lose his farm.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Four generations that were on the farm. I mean, they
- 7:09Speaker 2: were foreclosing on his farm because of the tariffs and
- 7:15Speaker 2: China not buying soybeans for a period of time, just
- 7:18Speaker 2: shutting down the soybean purchase, and so his crop was
- 7:23Speaker 2: all soybeans. So he was done. I mean, there was
- 7:26Speaker 2: no money coming in. And as he sat there and
- 7:29Speaker 2: as his foreclosure is happening, he said, I'm sure the
- 7:33Speaker 2: President has a plan.
- 7:34Speaker 1: I'm sure it's going to be okay. I support the President.
- 7:38Speaker 4: You're losing your farm.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Well that's okay.
- 7:46Speaker 2: You know, I understand politics, But I got to tell you,
- 7:49Speaker 2: if I'm losing my farm, I don't care who it
- 7:53Speaker 2: is who's causing me to lose my farm.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I'm not a happy camper.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Oh listen, nobody wants you to buy the farm more
- 7:58Speaker 4: than me.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Okay, anyway, So I'm just enjoying the politics of it
- 8:03Speaker 2: all that it's everything is turned around political wise, all right,
- 8:06Speaker 2: moving on.
- 8:07Speaker 4: All right, Trump, he's telling us again we're getting it wrong. Yea.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Trump says bad news about the economy is a con
- 8:15Speaker 4: job from the Democrats, and that gas. He goes, are
- 8:19Speaker 4: you ready cost her down? Gasoline is going to be
- 8:23Speaker 4: hitting two dollars pretty soon, or around two dollars. Gasoline
- 8:27Speaker 4: is at two seventy now, and it was at four
- 8:29Speaker 4: point fifty under Biden, under Sleepy Joe, he says, when
- 8:34Speaker 4: the reality is the average consumer price for a gallon
- 8:37Speaker 4: at gas in the US was three point zero seven
- 8:41Speaker 4: to two on Tuesday. That's according to Triple A, which
- 8:44Speaker 4: said the average price was a little bit higher than
- 8:46Speaker 4: that a year ago here ago, which is a three
- 8:50Speaker 4: point zero.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's absolutely minimal.
- 8:53Speaker 2: It's just, you know, every bit of bad news is
- 8:56Speaker 2: fake news, and the good news is would you intimate news.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I don't let anybody tell me how to feel like.
- 9:04Speaker 4: If it's tight for me, it's tight for me. No
- 9:06Speaker 4: one standing behind a microphone is going to make that
- 9:09Speaker 4: go away.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Well, remember, price is going to be half of what
- 9:11Speaker 2: they were. So I was at rouse the other day
- 9:15Speaker 2: and Bill came to I don't know, forty bucks. I
- 9:17Speaker 2: threw twenty dollars down at the counter and I said, no, No,
- 9:20Speaker 2: this isn't forty dollars.
- 9:21Speaker 1: This is twenty dollars.
- 9:24Speaker 4: Because Trump said, yeah, because I just yell faked news
- 9:28Speaker 4: and walk out with the groceres with the fake news.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Taking a closer look at Turning Point protests, the Department
- 9:39Speaker 3: of Justice says it's going to investigate security on the
- 9:44Speaker 3: UC Berkeley campus. Several people were arrested on Monday after
- 9:49Speaker 3: clashes broke out on and off campus between protesters and
- 9:54Speaker 3: people attending a Turning Point USA event. The event happened
- 9:59Speaker 3: two months after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at another Turning
- 10:04Speaker 3: Point event. The event was the first in California since
- 10:08Speaker 3: Charlie Kirk was killed, and the DOJ says is going
- 10:12Speaker 3: to investigate whether free speech or anti discrimination laws were violated.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Now I have a question about that. Well.
- 10:18Speaker 2: First of all, as far as the extent of this protest,
- 10:22Speaker 2: Berkeley says only four people were arrested and two of
- 10:25Speaker 2: them were fighting with each other. So to the extent
- 10:28Speaker 2: that this was a major protest.
- 10:30Speaker 4: We had so much worse.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But the argument is that any anti rite effort, for example,
- 10:41Speaker 2: this is antifa or antifa is somehow stopping freedom of expression,
- 10:48Speaker 2: freedom of assembly. Although the point is that the universities
- 10:51Speaker 2: have been insanely liberal. I mean that is true. Higher
- 10:55Speaker 2: education is very liberal, was very liberal. Has changed quite
- 10:59Speaker 2: a bit now and it will change. But a very
- 11:02Speaker 2: big deal is made whenever it's the right wing being
- 11:06Speaker 2: attacked by everybody on the report.
- 11:09Speaker 4: Strangely enough, it was given away. The conservatives owned schools
- 11:14Speaker 4: way prior to anything else. All most schools were started
- 11:19Speaker 4: for religious Yeah. How about this one for you, a
- 11:23Speaker 4: little factoid, little bit, bill handle factoid. The old Deluter
- 11:26Speaker 4: Satan Act. Was it eighteen forty six, eighteen forty six,
- 11:34Speaker 4: something like that, seventeen forty six. The old Diluter Satan
- 11:37Speaker 4: Act is why they started schools to teach people how
- 11:40Speaker 4: to read scripture for themselves.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Didn't know that, little something for you, didn't know that,
- 11:45Speaker 2: all right, Speaker Mike.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Johnson, cheez, can you imagine fifty days after you were
- 11:50Speaker 4: elected to wait to be seated. So Speaker Mike Johnson
- 11:55Speaker 4: plans to swear and representative elect of Arizona as a
- 11:58Speaker 4: member of Congress. What's her name at.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Elita yea, yeah, yeah, maybe he just didn't want to
- 12:09Speaker 2: pronounce her name. No, because she's a vote on making
- 12:12Speaker 2: the Epstein files public. Oh, that was the last vote.
- 12:16Speaker 2: And then and he refused to seat her. And when
- 12:20Speaker 2: he was attacked and said, but wait a minute, you
- 12:22Speaker 2: seated Republicans right Immediately immediately after, he says, well, their
- 12:29Speaker 2: families were here, uh, and we had to accommodate the
- 12:33Speaker 2: families because they were only here for a limited period
- 12:36Speaker 2: of time.
- 12:36Speaker 1: That's what he said.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Are the Epstein files going to come out? You bet?
- 12:40Speaker 6: Aren't they already out?
- 12:42Speaker 2: Now? There's still some in there there they're claiming this
- 12:44Speaker 2: is another thing in Johnson is claiming, since it's being
- 12:47Speaker 2: investigated anyway by a House committee, it's moot. In the meantime,
- 12:52Speaker 2: did you, uh, what's just reliefs as being reported?
- 12:55Speaker 1: I know by who?
- 12:56Speaker 2: But House Democrats released emails uh, in which Epstein wrote,
- 13:02Speaker 2: this is what they're saying, In which Epstein allegedly wrote
- 13:06Speaker 2: that Donald Trump knew of Epstein's conduct and further spent
- 13:12Speaker 2: hours at his house with underage underage girls. That's what
- 13:17Speaker 2: Epstein wrote, or saying that he wrote, I have see
- 13:20Speaker 2: here's the issue. If Donald Trump is innocent, which I
- 13:24Speaker 2: think he is, by the way, I don't think he
- 13:26Speaker 2: was into fourteen year old girls, at least I don't
- 13:28Speaker 2: believe that.
- 13:29Speaker 1: But he had to have known that Epstein was. I
- 13:32Speaker 1: think so. I think everybody else. I think everybody knew.
- 13:34Speaker 2: And why did the administration goes so crazy to hide
- 13:37Speaker 2: those files because he campaigned on opening those files. The
- 13:43Speaker 2: Biden administration hid those files, which I have no idea
- 13:46Speaker 2: about because you know that Biden didn't hang out with
- 13:48Speaker 2: fourteen year old girls.
- 13:50Speaker 4: Yeah, but we don't know if his sons or anyone else.
- 13:53Speaker 1: His grandkids. I have no idea.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Anyway, let's do one more and then we'll bail.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Approaching one billion dollars, there was no big winner from
- 14:05Speaker 3: Tuesday night's Mega Million's Jackpot drawing, so the estimated prize
- 14:09Speaker 3: for Friday night is nine hundred and sixty five million dollars.
- 14:13Speaker 3: The odds of winning any prize in the game or
- 14:15Speaker 3: won in twenty three doesn't sound so bad, right, Well,
- 14:18Speaker 3: the odds of winning the jackpot are one and two
- 14:20Speaker 3: hundred and ninety point five million.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Are you in the pool here? That Michelle runs? Of course, Okay,
- 14:25Speaker 1: I think we're all in the pool.
- 14:26Speaker 6: And I don't think we've ever won more than two
- 14:28Speaker 6: hundred dollars.
- 14:28Speaker 2: With two hundred dollars, are you kidding? I've never seen
- 14:31Speaker 2: beyond five dollars.
- 14:32Speaker 4: You roll it over, he rolls it over.
- 14:35Speaker 2: So the odds of us winning a major prize are
- 14:37Speaker 2: won in five billion, So you can say us, there's a.
- 14:40Speaker 6: Chance two hundred and ninety point five million.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, And then the argument is, well, somebody's got to win. Yeah,
- 14:47Speaker 1: it's just not going to be you. Why don't we
- 14:50Speaker 1: take a.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Break, just wait until we all win, And then you're
- 14:52Speaker 6: even more grumpy.
- 14:53Speaker 2: I'm in the pool. Oh, I am in the pool.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I'm the just in case, just in case I'm wrong?
- 15:02Speaker 3: All right.
- 15:03Speaker 4: You never want to hear a tattoo artist say oops,
- 15:06Speaker 4: And you never want tense air traffic control audio of
- 15:11Speaker 4: two jets possibly colliding. So you have a near collision
- 15:17Speaker 4: between two passenger planes departing from lax on October thirty first,
- 15:22Speaker 4: and you know this is all part of the concerns
- 15:25Speaker 4: of the ongoing government shutdown. Of course you have any
- 15:30Speaker 4: time that you have such an important job like air
- 15:34Speaker 4: traffic control, being under extra stress, like not being paid.
- 15:39Speaker 4: This is the concerns. So a plane drifted left off
- 15:44Speaker 4: of its planned course, air traffic control commanded that the
- 15:48Speaker 4: ITA pilot to turn right heading two seventy immediately stop
- 15:54Speaker 4: your altitude climb. All this the intense stuff that you
- 15:57Speaker 4: would expect that would happen in a moment like that.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Yeah, this in their traffic control. This is the pilot
- 16:01Speaker 2: who screwed up. This is pilot error where air traffic
- 16:06Speaker 2: controls saw it happen and go turn right.
- 16:08Speaker 4: Sure, but let may ask questions air traffic controls do it?
- 16:11Speaker 2: That's true? And yeah, I mean they try to keep
- 16:13Speaker 2: planes away from each other. Amy real quickly. Are we
- 16:16Speaker 2: getting more and more stories of near collisions?
- 16:20Speaker 6: It seems that we are.
- 16:22Speaker 2: But the.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Question is are there more or are they being reported?
- 16:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's always the question.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Like autism, All of a sudden, autism has exploded, right,
- 16:35Speaker 2: is it a question of reporting or has it really
- 16:37Speaker 2: gone up three hundred percent in the last fifteen minutes.
- 16:41Speaker 2: And the other thing about these near collisions, I it's
- 16:46Speaker 2: going to happen. I mean, it's just there's so many
- 16:48Speaker 2: of these. There is going to be a mid air
- 16:50Speaker 2: collision between these two, between two major planes.
- 16:54Speaker 6: Well, I guess it wasn't a major plane, but it
- 16:55Speaker 6: did happen in DC.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Just yeah, a couple.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Yeah, But you're looking at passenger planes leaving airports.
- 17:05Speaker 1: I mean that is really scary.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Brace for the storm from space. Space weather forecasters who
- 17:13Speaker 3: knew there were Space weather forecasters issued an alert for
- 17:16Speaker 3: incoming severe solar storms that could severely disrupt radio and
- 17:22Speaker 3: GPS communications.
- 17:24Speaker 6: That's the bad side.
- 17:25Speaker 3: On the flip side, northern lights could be visible as
- 17:28Speaker 3: far south as northern California.
- 17:30Speaker 2: I don't quite understand space weather forecasters like you said.
- 17:34Speaker 2: It's how about it's going to be cold if the
- 17:37Speaker 2: sun isn't shining, or it's going to be really hot
- 17:39Speaker 2: when the sun is.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Thank you, let's take a break.
- 17:41Speaker 4: The air is going to be thin up there. But
- 17:44Speaker 4: I've seen some of these pictures. Have you seen all
- 17:46Speaker 4: the northern light? There's some right there on the news.
- 17:49Speaker 4: The Northern lights pictures are gorgeous.
- 17:53Speaker 6: Have you ever seen them?
- 17:54Speaker 1: No?
- 17:55Speaker 4: I have been to Alaska and was on a cruise
- 17:58Speaker 4: to the what is the straight there?
- 18:00Speaker 1: The the inward passage in the passage.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and but we didn't see him.
- 18:08Speaker 2: I have gone in Alaska and I've seen the northern lights.
- 18:10Speaker 2: That's our lights being the north end of the ship
- 18:14Speaker 2: where the lights lights.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Yeah lights, Oh.
- 18:17Speaker 4: No, they were going north. These ones should be in
- 18:19Speaker 4: the sky, should be super pretty.
- 18:21Speaker 3: My brother saw them, and he said, and he took
- 18:23Speaker 3: a bunch of pictures and he's a photographer and his
- 18:25Speaker 3: pictures were spectacular and he said, this is nothing.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Oh I imagine like seeing.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Them live and seeing the light move around and stuff.
- 18:33Speaker 3: He said, it's just awe inspiring.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Okay, so Kini doctor Kenny is going to be on
- 18:39Speaker 4: a thirty talking about this. You just don't want to
- 18:42Speaker 4: add the word infant to Bachelism by Heart. They're a
- 18:46Speaker 4: manufacture of organic baby formula. So now they've gone on
- 18:50Speaker 4: to recall all of its products sold nationwide just yesterday
- 18:55Speaker 4: because some batches they found were expanding an outbreak of
- 19:00Speaker 4: infant bochulism. Yeah, so they had to. I mean that's scary.
- 19:04Speaker 4: I mean this is the first foods.
- 19:06Speaker 2: You can undo that very easily. Just the word organic
- 19:10Speaker 2: on anything. Just don't buy it. Yeah, that organic stuff
- 19:17Speaker 2: will kill you. Every time. Leave it alone.
- 19:18Speaker 4: Okay, seems problematic, doesn't it.
- 19:22Speaker 2: So jim is going to talk about this, you know,
- 19:25Speaker 2: because that's a fun disease batualism, which is botox.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Did you know that that's a form of botulism.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, you're poisoning your face.
- 19:36Speaker 6: And we paid to poison our face.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we do.
- 19:39Speaker 3: Jimmy Kimmel is saying goodbye to his band leader, who
- 19:42Speaker 3: is also his childhood friends. They've been like just fast
- 19:46Speaker 3: friends since they were like nine years old. Cleto Escabido
- 19:50Speaker 3: the Third died yesterday morning. He was the band leader
- 19:54Speaker 3: on Jimmy Kimmel Live. He was just fifty nine years old.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Whoa yeah, And after the announcement and Kimmel's show was
- 20:01Speaker 3: canceled for the evening.
- 20:03Speaker 6: Where is that?
- 20:04Speaker 1: Oh, we don't know what he died of.
- 20:07Speaker 6: It.
- 20:08Speaker 2: This is scary where people our age are, or certainly
- 20:11Speaker 2: my age, are popping off like crazy. Fifty nine, No,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I'm not fifty nine. You're hopeful.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I'm hopeful. Yeah, I'm hopeful.
- 20:19Speaker 2: When my mom died at ninety eight and at her funeral,
- 20:24Speaker 2: nobody was there.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Everybody had died.
- 20:27Speaker 4: She knew your mom died the day you were born,
- 20:30Speaker 4: she left her mortal coil. Yeah yeah, later she.
- 20:33Speaker 2: Lasted five years longer than she should have, just to
- 20:35Speaker 2: screw with me, and it worked beautifully.
- 20:38Speaker 4: So yesterday, you remember that crazy story we talked about
- 20:42Speaker 4: that chase that went through like every county in California,
- 20:45Speaker 4: started in Thousand Oaks, ended like in San Diego, and
- 20:49Speaker 4: then she went to Mexico. So that woman that was
- 20:53Speaker 4: accused of leading that massive law enforcement chase from Thousand
- 20:58Speaker 4: Oaks to the US Mexico border just Monday, has returned
- 21:02Speaker 4: to the US to turn herself in. She's twenty nine
- 21:05Speaker 4: year old Melissa Wilson. She came back across the border
- 21:09Speaker 4: on Tuesday turned herself in. She was later handed over
- 21:12Speaker 4: to Vintera County deputies because that's where it started. And
- 21:16Speaker 4: she apparently stole a minivan from a sober living home
- 21:21Speaker 4: in East Hillcare Strive. Oh, I know where that is
- 21:23Speaker 4: in Thousand Oaks, and she did.
- 21:27Speaker 1: She's gonna be okay.
- 21:27Speaker 2: She's actually gonna be okay because this reporter is she
- 21:30Speaker 2: has mental issues and if she had a severe mental
- 21:35Speaker 2: issue with psychotic episode, they're not gonna charge her.
- 21:38Speaker 4: That sucks. It's like all of us would have to
- 21:40Speaker 4: go to jail, except Cono.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and keep in mind, as she's remember if you
- 21:46Speaker 2: watch the chase, which I did part of it, because
- 21:48Speaker 2: it went on for hours, she never went beyond the
- 21:51Speaker 2: speed limit on the freeway.
- 21:53Speaker 6: Well, so she went up to ninety.
- 21:56Speaker 1: That's the speed limit when you drive here. Ninety is
- 22:01Speaker 1: the low end, isn't it?
- 22:02Speaker 2: Amy?
- 22:03Speaker 6: No, I top out at eighty?
- 22:05Speaker 1: Oh okay.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Amy still uses hand signals. She's very, very cautious.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Which works in the middle of the night on the freeway.
- 22:13Speaker 6: Yeah, what are you saying?
- 22:16Speaker 4: Nothing?
- 22:17Speaker 6: Are you there?
- 22:18Speaker 1: She spaghetti?
- 22:20Speaker 3: Oh, new duties could double the cost of your favorite
- 22:25Speaker 3: pennae spaghetti and rigatoni pasta from Italy.
- 22:29Speaker 4: You said duty.
- 22:31Speaker 6: Dutie.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Listen to Cono laugh.
- 22:34Speaker 6: All right, So here's why.
- 22:36Speaker 3: The US already has slapped fifteen percent tariffs on goods
- 22:39Speaker 3: exported from the European Union. Okay, so that would apply
- 22:42Speaker 3: to the pasta. But now Italian pasta makers are facing
- 22:47Speaker 3: a new ninety one point seventy four percent tariff because
- 22:50Speaker 3: of something known as dumping. Yeah, and it's just like
- 22:54Speaker 3: steel dumping. Remember the USA acuse China that, except it's
- 22:58Speaker 3: pasta where they're selling it for under market value, so
- 23:01Speaker 3: they're putting the tariff or.
- 23:02Speaker 2: They by the way, that is totally legitimate. Here's where
- 23:06Speaker 2: I agree with the president is if you have foreign
- 23:10Speaker 2: manufacturers of anything, at that point you throw tear of
- 23:14Speaker 2: stuff up and sometimes these these manufacturers, the dumping is
- 23:20Speaker 2: subsidized by the governments. That's what happened with steel in
- 23:23Speaker 2: China in terms of getting the American market, is that
- 23:26Speaker 2: the government of China subsidized Chinese steel that was brought
- 23:30Speaker 2: into the United States, which, of course people who you
- 23:32Speaker 2: steel was gonna were going to buy the Chinese steel
- 23:35Speaker 2: because it was so much cheaper. So yeah, if the
- 23:37Speaker 2: dumping is correct, I think President Trump is right on
- 23:40Speaker 2: on this one.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Hey, speaking of Chinese steel, did you see that bridge
- 23:44Speaker 3: collapse in China?
- 23:45Speaker 1: The stor Yes, yes, crazy.
- 23:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it was like super high looking like a very modern,
- 23:53Speaker 3: high tech looking it had.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Just opened up, but there was no traffic, correct.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Why did it it? Just the integrity wasn't there.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Oh you think you think the Chinese are going to
- 24:04Speaker 1: tell us.
- 24:05Speaker 2: What they're saying is that the hill was unstable, that
- 24:10Speaker 2: there was some geological problems with the hill, that it
- 24:13Speaker 2: was attached to.
- 24:14Speaker 1: But we'll find out.
- 24:15Speaker 4: You know that's not the man made part. Yeah, yeah, right,
- 24:19Speaker 4: all right, so this was crazy. Yesterday, just about six pm,
- 24:23Speaker 4: I'm in my office at home, getting some work done,
- 24:26Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, the South Pasadena emergency
- 24:30Speaker 4: alert came across the phone, and it said that it
- 24:34Speaker 4: was just a test. But this went.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Everywhere and I've never seen where it says just a test.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Have you like an AMBI alert? I've never I've never
- 24:41Speaker 2: seen this is just a test.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Yeah, this one. Yeah, I think this is the only one.
- 24:46Speaker 4: I don't know. It's hard to recall, but I did
- 24:49Speaker 4: see that come across. But this, you know, La County
- 24:53Speaker 4: Long Beach, downtown, La Wheredondo Beach. I saw tons of
- 24:58Speaker 4: people get it, but I didn't understand why we were
- 25:03Speaker 4: getting it. It was a mistake.
- 25:05Speaker 2: All right, we're done with the news. Excellent, well done,
- 25:08Speaker 2: well said k IF. I am six point forty.
- 25:12Speaker 1: You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Catch my show Monday through Friday six am to nine am,
- 25:17Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
