- 5:28[SPEAKER_18]: This is the hotline of what is another gorgeous summer day here late summer day, but still a summer day and perhaps a possibility of some Thunderstorms later in the afternoon will deal with that as it gets here.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_18]: If you didn't even hear my voice, I had that was watching those hearings in Washington with RFK Junior, there's screaming so much, I don't know how they can make sense of it, but we will make sense of things today on the outline.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_18]: We have Peter Monaco here who is running for City Council, finished number two in the primary and moving on now to November, along with three other candidates, two of them we've had on the fourth candidate, Mr. Garrett, we'll have our next week, Mr. Monaco, how you doing?
- 6:11[SPEAKER_16]: I'm pretty good today.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_16]: How are you, Mayor?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, good.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_18]: Now, little nasal congestion, seasonal allergies, both of that and all of that.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_18]: Now, you came in second in the primary, or she never know what to expect in other things.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_18]: Were you satisfied?
- 6:27[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, I would like to have been in first, but I'm satisfied with second.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_16]: Second, better than fourth.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_16]: I'm still, you know, I knocked on a bunch of doors, did some campaigning.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_16]: I was pleased with it.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_18]: Well, you're trying to, you know, I guess the two of you who are the front runners, are you front runners, you and Garibrand, is that the, well, I guess if you're a, I would say so, yeah.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_16]: So you got to run out the clock here and hope they don't catch up to you, you know, well, I'm going to keep working and I hope they don't catch up to me.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_16]: That's the name of the game.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_16]: You're in it to win, get first or second.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_18]: And now you're the guy who
- 7:12[SPEAKER_18]: You were city employee for a long time, you've been on the school board, the post he's board, you're still on that, got a lot of acquaintance with the system and with people in it.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_18]: Your opponents are presenting themselves more as, you know, new generation.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_18]: So what do you, how do you tell them you put the old guy on instead of the young ones?
- 7:32[SPEAKER_16]: They are a new generation.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_16]: I think I was working at the city when a couple of were born and that's fine.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_16]: Everybody has their ideas.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_16]: I've been around the city government.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_16]: I know how the thing how it operates I see stuff going on at meetings that I shake my head sometimes.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_16]: I'm going hey this was tried and or this is crazy answers type thing right and I had called come in with the Take to use the words guns of blazing, but there's got to be some serious look
- 8:06[SPEAKER_16]: If budget people cannot withstand another 7.89% tax increase next year, they've got to
- 8:17[SPEAKER_16]: They don't have a revenue problem.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_16]: I believe their problem is just overspending.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I know, as a city resident, long time, it isn't that I can't afford an 8% city tax increase in it of itself, but everybody else's hammering it.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_18]: National grid is like doing up a number on all of us, plus everything else that goes food prices and all of that, and whatever it's causing it,
- 8:43[SPEAKER_16]: the confluence of it all is that what's hurting people they had a I get a good street percent on the water rate this year in addition to the seven eight whatever the actual final was uh... they're if they go through with this uh... deal with the water plant that's just going to kick the water rates up uh... on the get it rid of that tiered system of water sales we got rid of one of the tiers when smith and i were in
- 9:07[SPEAKER_18]: But what they do is they raise at 3% but the disparity between what the single homeowner is and the hospital is basically type of client.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_18]: The big users, yeah, that's true.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_18]: So anyway, we got a call already, your popular good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_16]: No, nobody there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_18]: Nobody there.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_18]: They didn't want to strike the after all.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_18]: But we get a whole bunch of topics.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_18]: You know, things that have come up on the previous shows with the with the last cows and Mr. Osborn.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_18]: Mr. Velasquez raised the issue of he would support enacting a local law that would set a referendum in November of 26th.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_18]: I'm converting the mayoral government with a transition to occur in the 27th election.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_16]: do you support that going to referendum if the people if they goes to referendum and the people so choose to go to a strong marijuana government that's what the people want if they want it they vote for it if they don't then they keep going where they have been so last hundred years probably has been a manager for them since the 20s because to get a referendum
- 10:16[SPEAKER_18]: charter commissions are generally a rigged deck.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_18]: You can do it through a local long, would you support passage of that law?
- 10:21[SPEAKER_16]: If, yeah, I have to look at the whole thing and see the pros and the cons, but if it looks like it's not a bad deal, just give the people a choice to do it.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_16]: And if they vote for it, so be it.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_18]: I wonder about this residency thing that came up.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_18]: It came up with Mr. Wagner or the manufacturer, but it isn't.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_16]: I remember years ago, I mean, it was you and Jean Hayes and Macauley with the Treasurer and you know, all these people who was well, when I went to work at the city, I think every department had lived in the city and mid-level pretty much manned with within the city limits.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know if it was a requirement, when I applied for the job, there was a couple people who lived outside, and I don't know if it's a ho, hopefully I didn't get it because I lived.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_16]: I hope I got out of my merits, but, you know, I think there should be some type of residents for the people who are the one in the show.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_18]: But what about the, in the case of Mr. Wagner, when they hired him, they, the city and him.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_18]: He signed a contract.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_18]: that contract was breached and it was actually not apparently valid anyway because it violated the public officers law so there is no contract now but do you think that he was taught because I don't think he's a bad guy or anything but do you think he was told don't worry about it will just push it off and they won't say anything I really don't I'd listen to you and
- 11:42[SPEAKER_18]: That's a good thing to do, is it possible that would send that way if you didn't what if you didn't Because who really would think a 65 year old man with a family and a beautiful home in Shamo?
- 11:57[SPEAKER_16]: is going to want to move on a dime, most people wouldn't do it, no, no people wouldn't want to do it.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_16]: And if you didn't care, don't put it in this contract.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_16]: But it does violate public officers long, long with some other people working in the city.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_16]: And haven't been on school boards, a little familiar with public officer law.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_18]: What about the other people?
- 12:18[SPEAKER_18]: You got a city engineer or lives the other side of Laoville.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know where the DPW guy lives.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_18]: You got a fire chief in the Fargeville, purchasing officer in Redwood, I don't even know where the police chief lives, do you know?
- 12:33[SPEAKER_18]: Don't know.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_16]: Maybe Adam, somebody heard one time.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not positive, exactly where he does live.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, they all probably got cars to take home, too.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_18]: They do.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_18]: But I don't know.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_18]: It seems on the surface.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_18]: And I know this has developed over time, but nobody seems to want to speak up.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_18]: They keep saying, whatever he raises issues, I say, well, Eric's a nice guy, you know, or something like that.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_18]: And that's not the issue of whether he's a nice guy or not.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I think he does a good job as the manager, okay?
- 13:02[SPEAKER_16]: I look back and the people that made the move into the city.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_16]: Mrs. Corbro before she was a manager was moved from,
- 13:10[SPEAKER_16]: the threes area, I believe, into water town, fire chief, former chief Herman, he came into the water.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_18]: Marlene, no matter what.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_16]: This is Norfolk who was the assessor.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_18]: I think the assessor should be in the... Well, our assessor now is from closing Clayton.
- 13:26[SPEAKER_16]: I think the person, if you're assessing property in the...
- 13:30[SPEAKER_16]: you should be in live in the war you're doing the assessments I think you have a better hand on what's going on okay so well how much would you push it I mean it's tough because you got all this in place but somebody's got to be the hard ass on this yeah but I don't those you you uh and this can't so I don't really think you get rid of the people who are presently there then are under quote contract um you know well the department had
- 14:00[SPEAKER_16]: And the manager serves at the pleasure of the council.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_16]: So these people were allowed to do this, but going forward, you put a big push on.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_16]: When I always tried at public works when I was doing hard and was to look for people who lived in the city.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_16]: They're easier to get them in for snow plow when they're any other kind of a emergency type situation.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_16]: Now, when I first went there,
- 14:28[SPEAKER_16]: very few lived outside the city uh... and it's sort of gradually i'm not sure the numbers city versus non city resident presently but we i was all shocking no matter fourteen department it all i'm about the the labor of the court uh... but i was always the we were
- 14:49[SPEAKER_16]: Jerry Hurler was city manager.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_16]: He always and you might have been mayor that you were during one of his terms there were one of your terms Uh, there was a big thing kind of came down on the official Nothing but hey, if you got you get people from the city hired if you can Okay, all right, we got a caller here.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_18]: Um, good afternoon.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_18]: You're on the air Oh, no, put again.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_18]: What do you want?
- 15:12[SPEAKER_16]: Nobody wants to talk to me.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_18]: Hey, Mr. Batista
- 15:19[SPEAKER_15]: Hey Frank can you speak up I can't hear you can you hear me well speak up a little frank in this let me yeah I can hear you but a little week go ahead though yeah I'm on the outside phone uh... a couple questions a bit of your elected can we call on you to have an immediate higher in trees because I agree with him hundred percent they're spending more than they have come in in contrary to belief
- 15:52[SPEAKER_15]: get used to it double digit taxes are going to be the normal that's not the case people water toner face with a lot of their bills national great groceries we can't afford double digit tax increases because you can't get your house in order okay we are you willing to cut temporary cut jobs in services and clothes that money pit clump clerk
- 16:17[SPEAKER_16]: Yes, I am.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_16]: There's nothing off limits.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_16]: I guess by point is you've got to look even at mange, may possibly mid-level mange measure, a way to combine some departments.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_16]: You can't just reduce spending by attrition.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_16]: You're going to have to take the hard line, and if you've got to cut seven positions, eight positions or whatever it is, Councilwoman Reserve brought up something about hard and here, I don't know, two or three meetings,
- 16:48[SPEAKER_16]: that was his job was to do the hiring in the fire and I think the council needs to take a hard look at positions when they are vacant and if they talk it over I know that's not probably going to go over real well with certain people but the council has to exert itself and say look we've got to stop this there's no sacred cause
- 17:12[SPEAKER_16]: If you, you know, they hired 20 people, additional people, and then 22, I believe, which I thought was a very, very poor decision made by the then city council.
- 17:26[UNKNOWN]: Right.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_15]: We brought that up at the meeting, I said, you don't, you don't want to, you don't want to come cost.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_18]: Obviously, because of positions come up and favor cutting jobs, but okay.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_18]: Okay.
- 17:41[UNKNOWN]: somebody's asking for five positions, say we can't afford five positions at the presence.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_16]: Well, it's going to take more than five.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_16]: It's going to take a couple years out.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_16]: You got to get two other people to go with you to cut any job.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_16]: You can say, I can say, oh, I want.
- 17:56[SPEAKER_16]: And I got to get two other people on board.
- 18:00[UNKNOWN]: Okay.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_16]: Well, it is what it is.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_16]: That's what I'm.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_16]: whatever you got to do what you got to do to get the cost and why you don't people do that in industry their break when they're they late people off all the time hard and back late them off nobody likes to loot the lay someone often lose their livelihood but you've got to do it's you've got to do it's you can't keep going the way we're going okay all right go of course okay i'll ask about that frank here you got to get another phone so but i'll ask about the golf course okay
- 18:32[SPEAKER_18]: Sorry, sir, but he got to be on the right phone, all right?
- 18:38[SPEAKER_18]: He wants to know about the golf course, yeah, or nay, or the golf course.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_16]: I believe that was just the cost was over the line.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_16]: Well, if I had had I been uncomfortable, I guess they want to call it a land purchase.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_16]: They do now control the entire Thompson, excuse me, Thompson Park area.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_16]: The golf course, like any business, you've
- 19:01[SPEAKER_16]: three or four or five years max to see where the bottom line is.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_16]: At the end of five years, hey, if it's still got this huge deficit, they've cut the deficit somewhat, let's just, we've got it.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_16]: You're not going to be able to lease it out.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_16]: The worst thing you have to do would be to shut it down.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_16]: I just don't think that's the price of the thing.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_16]: You know, we've got the zoo up there.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not opposed to the zoo, but I'd like to see the zoo's business plan and I have a certified audit of their books to see, you know, where the money the city's given them.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_16]: They've given them quite a bit over the years.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, another call here.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_18]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_18]: Hello.

- 22:49[SPEAKER_30]: At ENV energy, we do.
- 22:51[SPEAKER_30]: Fuel companies began to charge those fees to offset increases in their operating expenses without looking like they increase their fuel prices.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_30]: But that just doesn't align with our local company values.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_30]: Instead, we keep our company expenses low and only charge you for the fuel you buy.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_30]: Don't pay fees, call us at ENV Energy in Watertown, where the no-feet fuel company.

- 23:28[SPEAKER_18]: It's all you need to know.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_18]: All right, we're back with Peter Monaco, Council candidate here.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_18]: Mr. Monaco, just to go around at some different topics and not necessarily in any order, we see a lot of debate at the Council meeting about or FOIA requests.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_18]: Freedom of information requests from accounts so in mostly only, from the media.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_18]: And they keep refusing these.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_18]: You've got an assistant city manager who does nothing, but review these requests that come from all over, including you and our who.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_18]: Why don't they just put it out of them?
- 24:00[SPEAKER_18]: Just say how much money was spent for the lawyer to sit there with Smith and the state police.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_18]: Just tell us.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_18]: Exactly.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think a city council person should have to foil an information.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_16]: That, then on boards for, but superintendents for 25 years.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_16]: And we never, if I wanted something, I got it.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_16]: They take a couple days, but that's not right to make it.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_16]: I wanted some information for how many single doplexes and triplexes are on the city regarding refuge collection.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_16]: I sent a thing to the former sister and who I'd known for, worked over 10 years and he said, you got to send a,
- 24:44[SPEAKER_16]: Foil request to former assistant manager, Logan Eddie.
- 24:50[SPEAKER_16]: I sent the request and I got it in two or three days.
- 24:54[SPEAKER_16]: And I wasn't asking for anything that was real.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_16]: I'm like, how many houses are single family?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_16]: You know what I'm saying?
- 25:01[SPEAKER_16]: It's just wasn't a big deal.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_16]: And I can't see how a councilman can.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_16]: I've had to me that's wrong that a councilman, are you saying now?
- 25:09[SPEAKER_18]: Because when I was there,
- 25:12[SPEAKER_18]: You know, there were occasional chain of command issues, but if I wanted to know something, I've wandered down the hall to the engineer, or something, or talked to the assessor on the second floor, or go see Mr. Mills, you know, just ask, sit down and chat about something.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_18]: You can't do that anymore.
- 25:27[SPEAKER_16]: Well, you were mayor, so you probably, I was a civilian, I was retired employee, and I wanted, it was over the refuge deal.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_16]: They're trying to get rid of city refute.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_16]: That runs all the way from 245 Washington to Newell Street.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_16]: Sorry, that's my feeling.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_16]: They don't think they want to deal with it.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_16]: It's why I had sent a thing to Brian Phillips asking for the three three numbers, single family homes, duplexes, and triplexes because the city charger does not allow anything large and that for a refugee collection.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_18]: Somebody put it in there.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_18]: Who that knows?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_18]: Well, they talked a little bit about commercial refugees pick up.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_18]: Why not if, you know, I'm not talking about the house yet.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_16]: I know that.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_18]: I mean, I'm talking about me.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_18]: We used to, we kind of twisted the rules.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_16]: We did 100 units at the starwood on Starbuck Avenue.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_16]: We had 100 totes in there for a couple years, worked out well.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_16]: And we did the recycling.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_16]: We had, uh,
- 26:30[SPEAKER_16]: a couple, we have some small, we have some, the city has some small offices that are picking up like a down-est or something like that, you know, this cup maybe two totes sitting there, and
- 26:44[SPEAKER_18]: You know, it's, it's recycling.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_18]: We continue to do this separate recycling stream.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_18]: First of all, I think recycling's a hoax.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_18]: Well, largely.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_18]: You know, I suppose to say that, if you're in government.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_18]: Well, but on the other hand, why do we have to sit there and have these little containers by the side of the road and then they, the wind blows them all over the place?
- 27:02[SPEAKER_16]: because that's what the government, the city takes all the solid waste they end recycled into the Jefferson County transfer station 5-6 miles on on the Bradley Street Road.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_16]: They, they, they crush it up and palatize it and they sell it on the open market.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_16]: Former Mayor Smith really wanted to go
- 27:25[SPEAKER_16]: with single stream recycling.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_16]: The former superintendent Pat Keenan and I put together a pretty detailed deal of how to go about doing it.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_16]: We had a nice deal set up with Fort Drum.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_16]: So the city would collect the recycling in all one big bin.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_16]: We take it to Fort Drum, dump it on the ground,
- 27:50[SPEAKER_16]: and they just loaded into a roll off containers and this and for the city's part of helping out the city was to buy a truck and haul it to all their stuff and ours the Syracuse probably have to go and maybe
- 28:07[SPEAKER_16]: three four times a week and it was here again hate to use word grant for the truck was an eighty twenty split the state paid in a paid eighty right city paid twenty and it got to budget deliberations and because once I think it would have because one side wanted it the other side didn't know that I think it became a political ball that's my own personal opinion but okay well it's probably true about the speed bumps in the park we had a tragedy up there
- 28:36[SPEAKER_18]: When you ask who authorized to put them there, they say, well, we don't know yet.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_18]: Well, they do know, they don't think, you know, you have contacts there.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I would hope somebody would know who put them in, you know?
- 28:47[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, somebody had to order them.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think the DPW patch crew just went there and arbitrarily decided, I'll put them here.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_16]: There's six of them on, one on each major road.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_16]: So only a 15 or 20 mile per hour speed limit.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_16]: I don't ever see.
- 29:04[SPEAKER_16]: and all my time and being up there when I was working, I didn't know anybody ever passed me for driving 25 probably, I don't know, unfortunate, so I don't know.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think they're needed, yeah, probably could come home.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_16]: I don't believe they're needed to speak.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_18]: I think they're leaving, man, because they're afraid if they take them out, it's a admission that it was a bad decision.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_16]: I don't know whom in the decision.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_18]: So many of the songs they all talk quite well.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_18]: I could sue with you.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I might like to told you, the Pat screwed in looked at out of their own just some Monday morning start throwing speed bumps in.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_18]: But they won't tell you who authorized it.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_18]: I actually never asked them.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_18]: OK.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_18]: Well, we've got one of the topics of lawyers.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_18]: We got lots of lawyers down there.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_18]: Four of us.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_16]: We have won the attorney.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_16]: While we have bond-shenic in King, who's the general legal counsel.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not real impressed with Ms.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_16]: Smith why not what's wrong with her I think I don't she's always got to do this or that I then I really had problem and she decided she had to send this thing off to the state attorney general now Bonshennick and King has 300 attorneys on their what list on their website seven rate offices throughout the country they do work for the NCA and Shawnee Kansas
- 30:29[SPEAKER_16]: she can't find somebody out of those three hundred attorneys to come up with a legal up there.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_16]: All it is is an opinion.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_18]: Lawyers make a opinion on whether they could provide information to Clifford or something to do with pay and number.
- 30:44[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not sure the whole thing is that whole thing has just been a distraction for a year and a half.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_16]: There's a lot of things
- 30:56[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_18]: I would want to keep this legal arranged print out.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_18]: They've been using firms.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_18]: Here I speak.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_18]: Fine, shall we?
- 31:02[SPEAKER_18]: Well, that's all.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_18]: This whole mess would do.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_18]: Hancock and S, as to Brooke and some other undisclosed firm and all, but he.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_18]: And they're all got the meter run in and now the mayor says she wants to do some work consulting with them just find out whether they should continue with the only proceedings.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_18]: And there's only seven meetings life right they're going to run out of time to have these proceedings.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_16]: I think I would think so he's you know chances are he's done in December 30.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_16]: For if I doubt that he won't get the number of right ins and to get up to the fourth place and the thing be pretty rare if he did the second place and second place that happened in Augustburg.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_16]: You know, I'd like to just let the stuff be released.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_16]: Now, they talk about employee attorney client, probably, do I understand that?
- 31:49[SPEAKER_16]: Some of it can't be probably released because it has a personal issue very possibly.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_16]: And personal issues are kind of a covered.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I don't know.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_18]: But as far as the two council members, they don't have any protection.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_18]: I mean, there's no, even though they are employees technically,
- 32:07[SPEAKER_18]: You know, they've already, well, I think Ms.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_18]: Rejero said the other day that she said to Dr. Kimwell, you're not the one who's been smeared.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_16]: Right, exactly.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_16]: Is that true to that?
- 32:16[SPEAKER_16]: It is.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, I don't know the whole story and probably no one will ever know the entire story.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, I do know that when I was at the meeting in January 21st or second when I walked in and I sat there and former mayor Smith was there and I was kind of batting the breeze with him.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_16]: the mayor came in and said you guys come on back in my office okay they all went back there including the manager uh... the attorney was on stream i guess it was a snowy night she didn't make it up here and uh...
- 32:49[SPEAKER_16]: So all of a sudden, then the mayor comes out in 20 minutes and there's an investigation going on.
- 32:55[SPEAKER_16]: So I had, I sent an email to the New York State Committee on Open Government, explained the whole situation of that meeting kind of pretty detailed.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_16]: Next morning, I got an email back saying there's only,
- 33:08[SPEAKER_16]: The only person who can declare a meeting illegal is a court.
- 33:11[SPEAKER_16]: You can say it's illegal, but the court has to determine that.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_16]: There's two reasons, he has to be an open meeting or an executive session.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_16]: That's the only two way a public body can have a meeting.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_16]: Now, there's a couple exceptions.
- 33:23[SPEAKER_16]: One, if it's a political party caucus or something to do with a public service commission, and that was the only other two things.
- 33:30[SPEAKER_16]: So, that meeting, if the mayor would have called a executive session to discuss to him,
- 33:35[SPEAKER_16]: personnel or whatever reasons you want to call, it would have been the second of session meeting.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_16]: They came back out, sat there for an hour and a half, a seven state group or a senior criminal investigators asking for people's phones and everything else.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_16]: I personally would not have been given them my phone, just because you want on phone, coming to my house with a warrant, tomorrow I'll be glad to give it to you.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_18]: Well, what do you got to hide?
- 34:01[SPEAKER_16]: I don't have anything to hide.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_16]: My mother could've lost she's passed away and could've could've, anybody could've looked at my phone.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_16]: There's nothing on my phone that I wouldn't show to anybody, but it's just a, it's kind of an invasion of my privacy.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_16]: Without a warrant, you got to warrant or it's a peanut fine.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_18]: Mm-hmm.
- 34:16[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, that's interesting.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_18]: Um, good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_17]: Yeah, I made a couple things.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_17]: I want to know, Mr. Monica's response to the weed.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_17]: hoping of wheat shops in the city I disagree with it.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_17]: I think the city manager should live in the city that's the way it always been.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_17]: And the biggest problem in water town right now is the homeless people.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_17]: I'm surprised you haven't brought that up yet.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I'm waiting to get to it.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_18]: Okay.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_18]: The folks in the show you have mentioned.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_17]: Okay.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_17]: The problem in this city are homeless people not from this area.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_17]: And we're building a Taj Mahal over a made up.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_17]: for these people, instead of driving the hell out of this county, you've got to place on Franklin Street, giving all clean needles.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_17]: People on the heavy-ducks, are you kidding me?
- 35:09[SPEAKER_17]: Another nonprofit, by the way, another issue with this city, have this property stop property, don't pay any money to income debt to the city, they don't pay property tax to submit your issue.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_17]: 35% of this property is tax, except
- 35:25[SPEAKER_16]: you're correct.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_16]: As far as the residency, I feel a city manager should live in the city.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_16]: Okay, he had a contract that he signed and whether, however, whatever was said previously, the mayor has, former mayor, Mr. Graham has his ideas and the council decided not to go through with it.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_16]: As far as the weed,
- 35:49[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not a stoner, so I really don't have a real dog in the fight, but I don't see it being too many around, there's just, wait, all these smoke shops around town, that's not, I don't know how many, one councilman said there was 20, I'm more than that, he's, I miss the shows, right, we don't, yeah, there's a right and a wrong, you know what I mean, we have things to write, we don't need to sell them weed to these, we got enough property, drug
- 36:19[SPEAKER_17]: I don't need buddies on my streets to almost work.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_17]: That's the problem I have.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_16]: I saw, I went through the square.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_17]: I got up the street all day.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_16]: I went through the square a couple of Fridays ago, and I was going to send it to the mayor to, so I just, I didn't get around to it.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_16]: Mayor Graham, I mean, and it was a lady standing in the fountain.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_16]: And it just caught a little real hot Friday before the labor day, and she was cooling off.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_16]: Now, as far as the homeless, it's a big issue.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_16]: I have some property that I own a water street
- 36:47[SPEAKER_16]: It's not a shop I got there.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_16]: I do work out of and there was homeless people homeless
- 36:53[SPEAKER_16]: I don't want to call an encampment because it's only two of them and this person had I walked over and talked to him a couple times and they were homeless because they couldn't afford rent.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_16]: Now, you don't remember this guy ran for a governor, he was the rent was two damn high party.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_16]: I think his name was McMillan, the rents are out of control here in the city.
- 37:15[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, they're getting $1,1200 for sub-standard places.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_16]: Okay.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_18]: All right, angry man, if you got, I'll ask him your questions.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_18]: Okay?
- 37:25[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, thank you.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_18]: All right, thank you for calling.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_18]: All right, that's the angry man.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_16]: That's an honor to hear.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_16]: I think so.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_18]: I listen to him.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, the weed, the cannabis thing, and the existing smoke shops, none of them are licensed.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_18]: None of them collect sales stacks, none of them pay payroll tax.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_18]: They're all beneath the under the table businesses.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_18]: And yet this council got some members got on their high horse about a possible license shop, which probably wouldn't be opened for five to seven years.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_18]: I'll take a while.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_18]: Where would they put the thing?
- 38:00[SPEAKER_18]: That's the next thing.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_18]: Probably on Arsenal Street or something like that.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_16]: Well, I just got to be a certain, I don't know what the, I'm on the planning board.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_16]: I have to look at the zoning order and see what.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think that's even a dress, but they sure will come up with some kind of a rule.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_18]: Yes.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_18]: So, uh, well,

- 41:22[SPEAKER_27]: Mornings from 69 right here on AM-1240, W-A-T-N.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_18]: Well, we're getting good comments here on Mr. Monaco.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_18]: I says, I enjoy listening to both of you, good show.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_18]: And somebody texted in, finally, a candidate that is logical and makes sense.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_18]: And, well,
- 41:42[SPEAKER_18]: I guess that's a good thing to have people say it makes sense.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_18]: Well, I hope so.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_18]: I think I do.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_18]: I don't mean to bring up pet peeves.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_18]: And I brought it up here during the break.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_18]: So you know what's coming.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_18]: Locking our plans that you know where it is.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, court street looks great.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_18]: Glad that both seas is moving into the globe building.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_18]: Well, two pet peeves.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_18]: One is I'll get to it.
- 42:03[SPEAKER_18]: I'm all about that fountain.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_18]: because they put that the old fountain went in, it was a piece of sculpture, what they liked it or not.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_18]: It didn't run bad, it kind of, the water sprayed over it.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_16]: Equal graphics did it all over.
- 42:13[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, they painted it.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_18]: That may be the painting scheme wasn't what people wanted, but.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_18]: What they got in there now looks like something you picked up over at Ace Hardware.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_18]: Man, you're right.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_18]: It's not much.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_18]: I mean, what do we get for a 2 million, and then then the piece that resistance was that when the manager announced that they're paying like $16,000 on a change order to fix it because it doesn't work, you could take a garden hose and put a nozzle on it, first whatever pattern you want, and you probably have the same thing.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_18]: Well, how about just saying we're going to bring the old fountain back?
- 42:44[SPEAKER_16]: You know, that's the thought.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_16]: I had,
- 42:46[SPEAKER_16]: It's I'm not real impressed with the new with the phone is though the lack in our plasma looks nice I'm not real impressed with it I want by today in D.P.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_16]: W's there they're sitting defend this stuff they say well the planner is wanted that well it's bad yeah I mean the other thing in the backward parking places nobody parks in because they're on it all right that's common in bigger cities certainly change them or not well they're there and all I just have to turn them around the other way I mean what you
- 43:15[SPEAKER_16]: Probably if I get enough complaints about it, I mean, the complaints are that people don't use it.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, they can park out back.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_16]: I mean, they've got peril parking in the first three four spots off the American.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, but I mean, sometimes the ones you're talking, don't they?
- 43:29[SPEAKER_18]: They've got to say in front of a Bradley's carpet shop.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, they're and don't further.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, somebody's got to say, well, change it up.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_18]: And then you know what's going to be said when you can't do that.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_18]: You just gotta say do it.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_18]: It's kinda like Newell Street.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_18]: It should Newell Street be open in two ways.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_18]: I think you're saving it.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_16]: At least one way, okay?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think it's too wait traffic it'd be tough in there.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_16]: You could go from Mill Street down.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_16]: Nobody goes down there.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_18]: I mean, it's, you should recommend you to send your wife down there late at night or probably not.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_18]: I don't want to get red at all.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_16]: No, I mean, there's been two murders down there.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_16]: And there's cameras down there.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_16]: I don't think it's very little, I don't know the walking traffic that it even gets in the daytime.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_18]: I don't see anybody going down there and I remember one of his bills, I remember what the rationale was, it didn't work.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_16]: It was a small amount of councilman good one, that's all I got to the river, the right amount.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_18]: Right, and I'm just saying now, I mean, the place is overgrown, you can't see the river.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_18]: And I don't know what the pavilion if it's in good shape or not.
- 44:38[SPEAKER_18]: I haven't been down there since I've re-tucked out through and we can use it because it's never open, probably.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_18]: It just seems like, all right, good intentions that didn't work out.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_18]: But nobody's ever willing to say, let's fix it.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_16]: It's like the local bathrooms, like the bathrooms, the park, there was money years ago talk about replacing the old stone, you know, all the...
- 44:59[SPEAKER_16]: that probably have to some historic preservationist preservationists wouldn't allow it, but that thing needs to be updated and everything, you know, that's terrible.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_18]: Well, the old bath house at the other end of the pool.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_18]: Why can't that be a good be?
- 45:12[SPEAKER_16]: They got a, they have outside entrance to the new pool and, uh, right, over on the north side behind North Elm.
- 45:18[SPEAKER_18]: I'm talking about the pool in the park.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_16]: I know what you're talking about, yeah, the old bath house.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I don't understand why that's there.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_16]: there's bathrooms in there.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_16]: There's bath.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_16]: I believe there's bathroom still in there.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_18]: Can you use them?
- 45:32[SPEAKER_18]: Mm.
- 45:32[SPEAKER_18]: Good question.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_18]: It is a good question.
- 45:36[SPEAKER_18]: I. Well, anyway, we'll find out.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_18]: Oh, listen, we got to do another break here.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_18]: And we got a call coming in.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_18]: Well, good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_19]: Hi, Jeff.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_19]: Mr. Monaco, I looked up in your state requirements for the codes in the zoning
- 45:54[SPEAKER_19]: And it's 500 feet from a school, 200 feet from a place of worship.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_19]: And the dispensaries can't be more than a, that'd be a thousand feet apart.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_19]: And so I checked that out yesterday after the city allowed it.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_16]: If you're I haven't looked into that but you're probably right like I said I said on the city planning board and the The revamp zoning issue there's revamp zoning called that they didn't twenty two or three I doubt that it even addresses cannabis But I think it does but This would have to go back before the zoning board right now would they would it be recommended just to go with the state requirements or you guys are gonna put a squeeze
- 46:43[SPEAKER_16]: I don't, I don't see a lot of them happen to be able to tell you the truth, but I have to go to have some of the, well, the state law, there was a controversy because the state law on separation was not being met in bigger cities.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_18]: So now that you've got a bunch of non-compliant licenses, frankly you're not going to see more than one in town anyway.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_18]: And so I wouldn't worry about it.
- 47:04[SPEAKER_19]: It's quite a question about the licensing.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_19]: Now that it's four years later,
- 47:10[SPEAKER_19]: Our licenses don't be can you apply now I believe so on or they're only windows I'm listening to apply any time Well, I think there's windows.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_18]: I practically speaking Know what is going to be opening a weed shop It's legal in town for the foreseeable future All of that talk the other day about a weed store and every corner.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_18]: There may be one but it's not a licensed weed store
- 47:34[SPEAKER_18]: So that's that.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_18]: I don't think you'll see those things licensed for some time because the process is so kind of related to it.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_19]: I looked into it and it's expedited.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_19]: Some of it can be expedited because they have, you know, like you mentioned before, there's criminal things, but there's like veteran benefits.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, if you're a fella, we get a benefit too.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, it's a great, great system.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, listen, I got to run.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_18]: All right, thank you.
- 47:59[SPEAKER_18]: All right.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_18]: And I'm supposed to ask you about, and I don't know what this is.
- 48:03[SPEAKER_18]: A large trackhoe, the city had that they had to buy a large trailer to haul it.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_18]: Is it just sitting at the barn or can we use it to tear it down?
- 48:11[SPEAKER_18]: How is it?
- 48:13[SPEAKER_16]: Well, the one, the large one, is when I was there, I was there.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_16]: purchased that I got on those like personally.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_16]: If I wrote the specs for a particular piece of equipment there for 25 years, they could take houses down where that machine has a big claw that could take the bucket off.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_16]: Before I left, we had purchased the trailer that we had to track the trailer and decided it.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_16]: needed work.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_16]: It wasn't worth keeping.
- 48:46[SPEAKER_16]: It was 25 years old.
- 48:48[SPEAKER_16]: The frame had gone bad on the trailer and the tractor had some engine issues.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_16]: It wasn't worth putting the money into something that old.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_16]: So we bought a trailer that you can tow behind the tandem dump truck and it's a 25 ton capacity.
- 49:04[SPEAKER_16]: So the big machine weighs out and no 212.
- 49:08[SPEAKER_16]: So it would handle it and they bought another one.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_18]: a year ago I believe and they did use that on that temple street flier kind of just ripping terror things apart and I know we went through this on the show before but to all the way that debris you got it you know with all of the requirements now it used to be
- 49:31[SPEAKER_18]: I was trying to remember I had the house next to the bar torn down.
- 49:33[SPEAKER_16]: Yeah, that was my first got there if I'd be there.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, on the late 80s and whatever they did, they just took it away.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_16]: I took it to the city landfill.
- 49:41[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I just paid him and that was it.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_18]: And now it's, oh, I don't know both.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_18]: I don't know both.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_18]: But the one on the corner.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, I'm not talking about the one on the other side with a parking lot, but nowadays you've got to not only get it tested for a specialist, but you've got to hire an engineering firm and if somebody oversees the transport and you've got to go to the tank and get their blessing.
- 49:59[SPEAKER_18]: Well, never get rid of these three houses that burned.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_16]: They, well, they, someone has to be there to monitor the air.
- 50:07[SPEAKER_16]: They put up an air monitor system for S-pustus or dust or whatever.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_16]: So many feet from the site.
- 50:15[SPEAKER_16]: It has to be, you know, if you take remove the S-pustus, and you have to be like bagged and disposed of,
- 50:28[SPEAKER_16]: jumbled mess, then I'd get that bank, I believe, charges of premium for that combined demolition debris asbestos, and I don't know about engineering for them to, you know, the city has to have something to do.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_18]: How was next to me burned down to the point where they were irreparable, and the city would come in and knock it all down and put a fence up.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_18]: I'd have to sit and look at that for years.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_18]: I would hope not.
- 50:55[SPEAKER_18]: Because the one on West Maine has been since March, right?
- 50:58[SPEAKER_18]: It's now September.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_18]: I think that's half a year.
- 51:01[SPEAKER_16]: I believe there's a bid out now to knock down the house on coffee and two or three others.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_16]: I wouldn't just guess that that debris removal on West Maine is part of that bid package.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_16]: I would hope it would be.
- 51:14[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, we got to call.
- 51:15[SPEAKER_18]: We'll take this.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_18]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 51:19[SPEAKER_16]: Hello.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_18]: Good afternoon here on the air.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_18]: All right, we'll take your quick break, be right back.
- 51:30[SPEAKER_14]: Around the corner, around the continent, around the clock.

- 53:51[SPEAKER_18]: I got Peter Mottico here, candidate for City Council.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_18]: Mr. Mottico, Councilwoman Regero is not on the ballot, but she says she can't vote for any of the four of you because none of the four of you are asking the tough questions.
- 54:05[SPEAKER_16]: I'm not afraid to be the bad guy.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_16]: I'll ask what I feel needed to be asking if it kind of ruffle someone's feathers.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_16]: Oh, well, I'm sorry.
- 54:14[SPEAKER_16]: It's a matter of who it would be, whether it be other councilpeople, the manager, or department manager, or whatever.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_16]: I want to ask a question.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_16]: I want an answer and I want the answer.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_16]: Not what you want everybody to hear, but I want the answer that's the answer.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_18]: Really?
- 54:29[SPEAKER_18]: Yes or no more councilman has to file for you request.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_16]: I would hope I cannot believe that they make a sitting council person file a foil request.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_16]: That to me is just wrong.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_18]: Okay, no, they don't think so apparently.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_18]: Um.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_18]: All right, I got a call here.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_18]: Good afternoon, Ron here.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_18]: Got to be quick.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_11]: Hey, okay, Mr. Monica, I never knew that you were not in the meeting when that all went down and I had one question for you.
- 54:57[SPEAKER_11]: How are you going to be able to trust the sitting there becoming a city council member with that all gone down and how do you really choose to feel about that happening and that's my question.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_11]: Okay.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_16]: You're talking about the meeting where they're true birds with a true per gate there.
- 55:11[SPEAKER_16]: They came in and then took over the meeting.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_16]: Well, you know, I'm sitting there and that was her prerogative.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_16]: Someone told her we got it.
- 55:20[SPEAKER_16]: I'm assuming she followed what the police had said.
- 55:26[SPEAKER_18]: It's her meeting.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_18]: It's her meeting.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_18]: People's meeting.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_18]: It's not the truth for me.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_16]: No, but I'm assuming they told the mayor we need to talk to these people.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_16]: I don't can't believe they couldn't have done it to another venue than what they wanted them all together so they could confiscate their phones.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah, and they, you know, it's good cop bad cop.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_18]: They play one against you know, we've all watched drag that we know how to work.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_18]: Yeah.
- 55:50[SPEAKER_18]: but she'd think the whole thing was wrong.
- 55:51[SPEAKER_18]: I've never seen that in government anywhere.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_18]: You've seen it at BoCee's school boards.
- 55:54[SPEAKER_16]: No, I never have.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_16]: No, it's either an open meeting or an executive session.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_16]: The executive sessions tend to sometimes get off-target.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_16]: And sometimes you need to get one of the members needs to bring you back in because there's just limited number of items you can talk about in the executive session.
- 56:10[SPEAKER_16]: And there's just all these.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_16]: I listen to the meeting.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_16]: I wasn't available Monday nights.
- 56:14[SPEAKER_16]: I listen to it later.
- 56:16[SPEAKER_16]: And all these emails, they couldn't keep track of this email thread, and that email thread from the lawyer to this one, and what's charged for the investigation?
- 56:24[SPEAKER_18]: And they had a secret lockbox of memos and things.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_18]: That was the one that Mr. Only supposedly gave out the secret code for, and I don't know who he gave it to.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_18]: With the media, I don't know why they blew him out on it, but if I was in the media and he gave me the secret code, I'd be looking at what's in it.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_18]: But that's because you're old-timer.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_18]: I'm an old-time media guy, yeah.
- 56:45[SPEAKER_18]: I look at that and I say, well, what are all these documents and what's the big deal?
- 56:49[SPEAKER_18]: The big deal is they are, they're covering something up in my mind.
