- 0:03Speaker 1: And there's Dan Lanning out there because no one can
- 0:05Speaker 1: yell at him. There is Lanning out on the field,
- 0:08Speaker 1: not focused on the opponent, not focused on his team,
- 0:11Speaker 1: not focused on the game.
- 0:12Speaker 2: He is focused on making Pat McAfee laugh.
- 0:15Speaker 3: Enough.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Terrible. Terrible job by Lanning.
- 0:19Speaker 4: Dan Lanning is the Nick Saban of Mike Norvell's.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Who the hell is Dan Lanning?
- 0:24Speaker 4: Could at least give us Ben Johnson might be the
- 0:26Speaker 4: greatest coach ever.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Uh, no.
- 0:30Speaker 4: Knock if you agree with me.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Give me the frozen dungeon.
- 0:33Speaker 4: I know we're doing overreaction Mondays.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 0:35Speaker 4: I would still be surprised. And it's Tuesday. You got
- 0:38Speaker 4: nothing right there. It's time to get your pint.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Tomato, tomato.
- 0:43Speaker 4: There is no worse surprise than surprise Gouda.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I felt so bad for Arch Manning playing so poorly.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I was saying to myself, he doesn't have it. He's
- 0:51Speaker 1: not a Manny.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Everyone is a fraud.
- 0:53Speaker 6: This is Steve Spurrier, former Gator head ball coach, and
- 0:57Speaker 6: you've been listening to Stugatz and Company.
- 1:00Speaker 7: Everyone is a fraud. Surprise Gouda.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It is Stugatz and Company presented by FanDuel and the
- 1:05Speaker 1: FanDuel Sportsbook. Brady Quinn coming up in about 15, 20
- 1:08Speaker 1: minutes or so. last night the Atlanta Falcons get a
- 1:12Speaker 1: big victory. They needed it, 35-14. I'm not certain what's
- 1:17Speaker 1: the bigger story here. Is it the Falcons getting a
- 1:19Speaker 1: much-needed win? And that team is talented. And Michael Penix
- 1:23Speaker 1: played good enough for the Falcons to show just how
- 1:26Speaker 1: good they are offensively. What's the bigger story for you, Taylor?
- 1:29Speaker 1: How the Falcons played or how the Packers played?
- 1:32Speaker 4: I think it's the Falcons. I think the Falcons might
- 1:34Speaker 4: have saved their season because it felt like last night
- 1:37Speaker 4: we entered the game thinking, The Falcon season was the
- 1:39Speaker 4: one on life support, and we left that game feeling
- 1:42Speaker 4: that the Packers season is now on life support.
- 1:45Speaker 1: The rare switching of life supports within a single game.
- 1:52Speaker 1: How do you have this life support thing working? It's
- 1:54Speaker 1: like they came in with, they needed help breathing. They had, like,
- 1:59Speaker 1: how do you imagine that to look? Life support for
- 2:02Speaker 1: a football team.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:04Speaker 4: It's like that meme where it's like somebody called the
- 2:07Speaker 4: ambulance and the guy's like crouching over and the Falcons
- 2:11Speaker 4: were crouching over and they were like, somebody call an ambulance.
- 2:14Speaker 4: And then the Packers let their guard down and then
- 2:16Speaker 4: the Falcons lift up and go, not for me. And
- 2:18Speaker 4: they pull out a gun on the Packers.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I was so impressed with the Falcons of Michael Penix.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I put a little flyer on the Falcons to win
- 2:26Speaker 1: the Super Bowl right after the game.
- 2:28Speaker 2: How about that?
- 2:29Speaker 4: This feels like what we've been talking about with this
- 2:31Speaker 4: Falcons team, though.
- 2:32Speaker 6: Yes.
- 2:33Speaker 4: You look at Drake London and you look at Bijan Robinson.
- 2:36Speaker 2: It was great.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:37Speaker 4: There is so much talent at those skill positions. You
- 2:40Speaker 4: just figure out the quarterback position. That team, Bijan Robinson
- 2:44Speaker 4: by himself, should be able to carry you to seven,
- 2:46Speaker 4: eight wins. I did not watch Barry Sanders, but I
- 2:50Speaker 4: have a hard time believing that Bijan Robinson isn't the
- 2:52Speaker 4: closest thing we've had. Two Barry Sanders since.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Different kind of runner, right?
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, different. Yeah, different, different.
- 2:59Speaker 4: He glides, Mikey. It is beautiful when Bijan runs.
- 3:02Speaker 1: But Barry was so low to the ground, it was different.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Barry would, like, scatter. He'd be in one place, and
- 3:07Speaker 1: then he'd be gone. Bijan's more power, I feel like.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Right, Mike?
- 3:12Speaker 5: I'm convinced Barry Sanders could teleport. Like he would be
- 3:15Speaker 5: over here and then you'd think, I got him. And
- 3:18Speaker 5: then all of a sudden you blink and he's three
- 3:20Speaker 5: yards down the field the other way.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Bijan does have an element of that to his game
- 3:25Speaker 4: where it looks like a hole is closed and he
- 3:28Speaker 4: cuts back so fast where it's like, it looks like Bijan,
- 3:32Speaker 4: like the game is moving in such slow motion for
- 3:34Speaker 4: him to where he's able to process like a juke
- 3:37Speaker 4: move or a spin and before the defender could even
- 3:40Speaker 4: comprehend what's happening. And my favorite part in that game,
- 3:44Speaker 4: Micah Parsons is on the sideline, and the sideline reporter
- 3:46Speaker 4: is telling him what Micah Parsons is telling the team.
- 3:49Speaker 4: She's like, Micah Parsons is telling the team, just break
- 3:51Speaker 4: down and tackle Bijan Robinson. Not the easiest thing in
- 3:54Speaker 4: the world.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:55Speaker 2: They've won one game since Micah Parsons went down. It
- 3:58Speaker 2: was against the Jets.
- 4:02Speaker 5: All right, guys, settle down and win the lottery, okay?
- 4:04Speaker 5: That's what you need to do right now.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Right?
- 4:08Speaker 1: The most basic advice, the most obvious advice that Micah
- 4:12Speaker 1: Parsons could give.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Hey, wrap up Bijan Robinson. They're going to give him
- 4:16Speaker 2: a ball.
- 4:17Speaker 8: I mean, Jesus.
- 4:19Speaker 5: It's funny that you say bijan robinson could carry them
- 4:21Speaker 5: to to seven eight nine wins uh he's.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Gonna have to he got the ball he was handed
- 4:27Speaker 3: the ball.
- 4:28Speaker 5: 29 times yesterday yeah that can't keep up all season
- 4:31Speaker 5: like it was it was fun to watch he had
- 4:34Speaker 5: 194 yards on the ground he also had two catches
- 4:36Speaker 5: for 19 yards but like you can't you need to
- 4:40Speaker 5: have an offense outside of one guy getting the ball
- 4:42Speaker 5: 31 times.
- 4:44Speaker 2: In a game.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I understand that, but they did have two guys getting
- 4:47Speaker 1: the ball. Drake London also had a big game. But
- 4:48Speaker 1: I understand your larger point. You can't give B. John
- 4:51Speaker 1: or really any running back these days 29, 30 carries
- 4:54Speaker 1: per game.
- 4:55Speaker 4: Yeah, and Atlanta was averaging 5.9 yards per carry where
- 4:58Speaker 4: the run game was working and they were establishing themselves
- 5:01Speaker 4: at the line. And when you have as talented a
- 5:03Speaker 4: running back as B. John Robinson, I'm here for the
- 5:06Speaker 4: Michael Pennix redemption story because that first couple of drives
- 5:09Speaker 4: for him, looked about as bad as a quarterback could play,
- 5:12Speaker 4: where he starts one for five with an interception. After that,
- 5:15Speaker 4: he was 17 of 20, 239 yards, one touchdown. no interceptions,
- 5:21Speaker 4: and Atlanta finishes the night with 500-plus total yards of offense.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yep, got off to a shaky start.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That's why I said quarterbacks would leave their current situations
- 5:29Speaker 1: to go be the quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Drake London is the ultimate. Just throw it up to
- 5:34Speaker 2: him and see if he can catch a guy, right?
- 5:36Speaker 2: I'm not even certain he's open half the time they
- 5:38Speaker 2: throw it to him.
- 5:39Speaker 3: He's that big. He's that good.
- 5:42Speaker 5: But Michael Penix, the redemption story is so interesting because–
- 5:48Speaker 5: We had him written off because they're like, oh, they're
- 5:51Speaker 5: bringing in Tua because they know Penix isn't going to
- 5:53Speaker 5: be any good. And he's showing right now that he
- 5:58Speaker 5: could probably lead this team to a couple of wins.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:01Speaker 4: And when you have Bijan Robinson, when you have Drake London,
- 6:04Speaker 4: you should have a good amount of confidence. And I
- 6:06Speaker 4: thought Penix was surgical after that rough start throwing across
- 6:11Speaker 4: the middle of the field. And I have this stat
- 6:12Speaker 4: from Michael F. Florio that highlights how good Drake London
- 6:16Speaker 4: is when he plays with Michael Penix.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Is it Michael F.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Florio?
- 6:21Speaker 4: It's a different Mike Florio. Michael F.
- 6:24Speaker 7: Florio.
- 6:24Speaker 3: A better Florio. A better Florio.
- 6:27Speaker 4: So this stat is Drake London has now played 15
- 6:32Speaker 4: career games with Michael Penix Jr.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 4: In those games, he's gone for 100 catches, 1,480 yards,
- 6:38Speaker 4: and nine touchdowns.
- 6:41Speaker 7: Jesus!
- 6:41Speaker 4: With Michael Penix, he's as close to a wide receiver
- 6:44Speaker 4: one as like a Jamar Chase, a Pukunuku, a JSN.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Right, and with Michael Penix in that division where you
- 6:50Speaker 1: have no idea who can win that, all four of
- 6:52Speaker 1: those teams can win that division.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Why not the Falcons?
- 6:56Speaker 7: Why not us?
- 6:57Speaker 4: The Dirty Birds.
- 6:59Speaker 2: That's why I put a little flyer on them.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I mean, if you're ever going to put a flyer
- 7:02Speaker 1: on them, you put the flyer on after an impressive win.
- 7:06Speaker 1: A quarterback comes back. He has a redemption story. They're
- 7:08Speaker 1: off life support because now Green Bay is on life support.
- 7:12Speaker 1: That's when you put a flyer on the one and
- 7:13Speaker 1: two Falcons.
- 7:14Speaker 2: How about that?
- 7:15Speaker 4: When is the last time you guys watched a Packers
- 7:17Speaker 4: game and you came away impressed by a Matt LaFleur team?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Oh, I'm tired of him. LaFleur.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I would say like mid to early last year.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Probably because they were bad at the end of the year.
- 7:32Speaker 6: Yes.
- 7:33Speaker 3: And they've been, by the way, Stu.
- 7:35Speaker 5: How upsetting is that Jets loss to the Packers, having
- 7:39Speaker 5: watched them now just completely shit the bed against this
- 7:45Speaker 5: Falcons team?
- 7:46Speaker 2: It's all I was thinking about last night. I mean,
- 7:48Speaker 2: I took a little stroll around the block.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I was thinking about it 17-7. I was also taking
- 7:52Speaker 1: a stroll because I had the Falcons on the money line.
- 7:55Speaker 1: When you're up 24-7, you go smoke a joint and
- 7:57Speaker 1: walk around the block.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Mikey, there is an element to it where the Jets
- 8:02Speaker 4: come away disappointed that they blew that game against the Packers.
- 8:05Speaker 4: But in the back of the Jets' mind, they're like, oh,
- 8:08Speaker 4: the Packers should be a good team. We had a
- 8:10Speaker 4: really good performance. We looked like a competent team. We
- 8:13Speaker 4: looked like a competent team for, what, 95% of that game?
- 8:17Speaker 4: And then you're watching Thursday Night Football yesterday. And if
- 8:19Speaker 4: you're now the Jets going up against the Detroit Lions,
- 8:22Speaker 4: you're like, uh-oh, we might have our work cut out
- 8:24Speaker 4: for us.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yep.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Taylor, I am fully invested in Jets Twitter. And one
- 8:29Speaker 5: of the funniest things was a Cowboys fan tweeted, and
- 8:32Speaker 5: we've got the Packers' first-round pick.
- 8:35Speaker 3: How great is this? And everybody's like, no, you don't.
- 8:39Speaker 3: The Jets have it.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Yep. By the way, LeFleur said, this is after the game,
- 8:45Speaker 1: right now, I don't know what we're doing well offensively.
- 8:49Speaker 1: You're the head coach, man. How about you figure it out?
- 8:53Speaker 1: Why is he regarded as one of the great head
- 8:56Speaker 1: coaches in the NFL? I will never understand it. His
- 9:00Speaker 1: teams get to the playoff fairly consistently. Once they get there,
- 9:04Speaker 1: they get bounced out pretty quickly. And for a coach
- 9:06Speaker 1: to say, I have no idea what we're.
- 9:09Speaker 2: Doing well offensively after a game, it is.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Your job to know what you're not doing well offensively
- 9:16Speaker 1: and then go out and fix it, LaFleur.
- 9:18Speaker 4: I have LaFleur getting to the coaches meeting and he
- 9:21Speaker 4: just sits down at the table with the coaches and
- 9:22Speaker 4: he just goes, any ideas?
- 9:24Speaker 7: Yes.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I mean, can you guys got something? Can you guys help?
- 9:28Speaker 3: No bad ideas.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Why does he make me so mad? Matt LaFleur. It's
- 9:32Speaker 2: the name. I don't think it's the name. I mean,
- 9:35Speaker 2: he's a good looking guy.
- 9:36Speaker 1: I just think people regard him as one of the
- 9:38Speaker 1: great coaches in the NFL and he's done nothing.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I think it's because he ran Aaron Rodgers out.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe.
- 9:45Speaker 4: I think part of it is the Packers have been
- 9:48Speaker 4: such a pillar of stability in the NFL that it
- 9:51Speaker 4: feels like any coach that goes there should have a
- 9:54Speaker 4: good amount of success with with that ownership and with
- 9:57Speaker 4: their history and lafleur constantly feels like he underachieves there
- 10:02Speaker 4: to where he gets to the playoffs and normally it's
- 10:05Speaker 4: shanahan bouncing him.
- 10:06Speaker 1: Out right has his number yes he does.
- 10:11Speaker 5: Let me run a scenario by you tell me what
- 10:13Speaker 5: you think okay please do Packers miss the playoffs. LeFleur
- 10:17Speaker 5: gets fired. Jets miss the playoffs. Glenn gets fired. Jets
- 10:22Speaker 5: call LeFleur.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Wow.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Are you happy?
- 10:28Speaker 2: I mean, I just ripped the guy. No, I'm not happy.
- 10:30Speaker 3: I know.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:31Speaker 3: Just making sure. I'm just making sure you're going to
- 10:33Speaker 3: keep that energy.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Right.
- 10:35Speaker 7: I will.
- 10:36Speaker 1: I have a question for you guys. Mike Tomlin calls
- 10:39Speaker 1: the Packers today.
- 10:41Speaker 2: What do you do? You pick up, you.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Pick up and you ask him, when can he be
- 10:46Speaker 4: in green Bay? And when can he start?
- 10:47Speaker 6: Really?
- 10:48Speaker 4: Because I think, I think Tomlin at least has the
- 10:50Speaker 4: reputation of getting the most out of his teams. The
- 10:53Speaker 4: last couple of years, he was hamstrung with, with an
- 10:55Speaker 4: Aaron Rogers at quarterback. That was pretty disappointing. You would
- 10:59Speaker 4: assume that Jordan love is an upgrade from what Aaron
- 11:02Speaker 4: Rogers currently is at the quarterback position.
- 11:03Speaker 7: Yep.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Mikey, what do you do?
- 11:05Speaker 3: I mean, of course you answer the phone.
- 11:08Speaker 5: I mean, it, it, You don't let it be known
- 11:11Speaker 5: that you answered the phone, but you answer the phone.
- 11:14Speaker 3: And you hope.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
- 11:17Speaker 1: What if LeFleur is in the office when the phone rings?
- 11:20Speaker 1: Do you still pick it up and have that conversation
- 11:22Speaker 1: with Tomlin?
- 11:23Speaker 2: How do you do that?
- 11:24Speaker 3: Hey, I got to take this. This is my sister.
- 11:29Speaker 3: You know what?
- 11:30Speaker 2: He hasn't earned the benefit of being kicked out of
- 11:32Speaker 2: the room.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I have the conversation with Tomlin right in front of LeFleur.
- 11:36Speaker 4: So the way I have the situation playing out is
- 11:39Speaker 4: LeFleur's in his weekly meeting with the owner. And the
- 11:43Speaker 4: phone starts ringing, and you can see the caller ID
- 11:46Speaker 4: on it. And it just says, like, Tomlin and, like,
- 11:48Speaker 4: a Pittsburgh area code number.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Well, do you look at LeFleur and you say, you
- 11:51Speaker 1: want me to answer that? You want to figure out
- 11:53Speaker 1: what our offense is doing wrong, or what do you
- 11:55Speaker 1: want to do? Yeah, LeFleur's just looking at it like,
- 11:57Speaker 1: are you going to pick this up? Because now I'm
- 11:59Speaker 1: feeling uncomfortable here.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Go to Chris answers the phone. Mikey T, you think
- 12:04Speaker 3: about what I said?
- 12:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 2: All right. He initiated the conversation. Yes, even worse.
- 12:11Speaker 4: The biggest problem that I had with this game yesterday
- 12:17Speaker 4: was Packers tight end Tucker Kraft. They asked him yesterday
- 12:22Speaker 4: about fans booing at the home opener.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Shut up.
- 12:26Speaker 4: And this was Tucker Kraft sound.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty tough.
- 12:28Speaker 8: You know, like everyone pictures Lambeau Field and the not booze.
- 12:33Speaker 7: I don't picture booze.
- 12:35Speaker 8: I picture my home stadium.
- 12:36Speaker 7: That's tough.
- 12:37Speaker 3: It's pretty disappointing. Especially for a home opener.
- 12:40Speaker 7: Especially for a home opener. It's pretty disappointing.
- 12:42Speaker 3: It's not going to help us win.
- 12:45Speaker 8: I don't know what people think that's going to rally
- 12:48Speaker 8: us or something like that.
- 12:49Speaker 3: But we're growing, man.
- 12:50Speaker 8: We're mentally strong enough, capable enough to get back on
- 12:53Speaker 8: the field and play ball. But it would probably be
- 12:56Speaker 8: much easier with the 70,000 people behind us rather than
- 12:59Speaker 8: opposing us.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Them cheering is also not going to help you win.
- 13:02Speaker 1: How about you just play better? Not helping. Sorry, that
- 13:05Speaker 1: was me getting... I'm a little flustered. I'm choked up
- 13:08Speaker 1: because I'm at Le Fleur.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So, where Tucker Crabb loses me is when he says
- 13:14Speaker 4: it's not going to help us win. I think you
- 13:15Speaker 4: could be disappointed that fans are booing.
- 13:17Speaker 3: No.
- 13:18Speaker 4: But you can't then turn it on the fans. Like,
- 13:20Speaker 4: the reason they're booing is the reason why you're losing.
- 13:23Speaker 7: Because.
- 13:23Speaker 4: If you're a Packers fan, you know what's disappointing? Spending
- 13:26Speaker 4: all that money to go to a game, spending all
- 13:28Speaker 4: that money on parking, spending all that money on concessions,
- 13:31Speaker 4: and then you get to your seat and you get
- 13:33Speaker 4: a garbage product like they put out yesterday.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 13:36Speaker 2: The Falcons, right. You're on life support now. Yes.
- 13:39Speaker 1: You pay all that money, you go to the game
- 13:41Speaker 1: to find out your team, who wasn't on life support
- 13:43Speaker 1: before the game, is now on life support and needs
- 13:47Speaker 1: help with oxygen.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Although, if I'm a Packers fan... I know your team lost.
- 13:52Speaker 4: I think Bijan Robinson is worth the price of admission
- 13:54Speaker 4: at this point.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Yes, they got their money's worth when you consider that,
- 13:58Speaker 1: that he ran for nearly 200 yards.
- 14:00Speaker 2: What's the matter, Mikey?
- 14:01Speaker 5: This is the same guy that said he wouldn't want
- 14:04Speaker 5: to see a no-hitter if it was thrown against the Yankees,
- 14:07Speaker 5: but he's okay with Bijan Robinson running for 200 yards
- 14:10Speaker 5: against the Packers if you're a Packers fan.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 14:13Speaker 1: He's wildly inconsistent, and so is sports radio, and that's
- 14:16Speaker 1: why I'm proud of him. I mean, whatever he said
- 14:18Speaker 1: the day before, the week before, the month before, it
- 14:20Speaker 1: doesn't matter.
- 14:22Speaker 2: It just doesn't matter. You're the only one who remembers.
- 14:25Speaker 2: No one else does.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 14:27Speaker 4: Sports radio. I'm glad you just mentioned sports radio. I
- 14:30Speaker 4: have a classic for sports radio today.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Before you do that, can I just talk about Tucker
- 14:35Speaker 2: Craft for a second?
- 14:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Those aren't normal fans. Correct me if I'm wrong. Those
- 14:39Speaker 1: are owners of the team. They own a small percentage.
- 14:43Speaker 1: With your seat license, you get a small percentage ownership.
- 14:46Speaker 1: They don't have an owner. This is one of the
- 14:49Speaker 1: best fan bases in the NFL. They show up to games.
- 14:54Speaker 1: They sell out every single game. They don't care if
- 14:57Speaker 1: it's 15 below. The Green Bay Packers mean everything to
- 15:01Speaker 1: those fans, and those fans are also owners.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And if they want to boo because you're not playing well,
- 15:06Speaker 2: get the hell over it.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And who is Tucker Kraft to call out the fans?
- 15:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's not Jordan Love, and if he did it,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'd have the same opinion. Leave the fans alone. I've
- 15:17Speaker 1: said this forever. Fans pay a price to get to
- 15:20Speaker 1: the game. They make an effort to get to the game.
- 15:23Speaker 1: When things are going well, they will cheer for you.
- 15:25Speaker 1: When things are going poorly, they have every single right
- 15:29Speaker 1: to boo you in your home stadium.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Play better, Tucker Craft. Whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 15:35Speaker 5: Tucker Craft was four catches for 26 yards on eight targets.
- 15:40Speaker 5: How much better can you play?
- 15:41Speaker 2: Well, now he's on life support.
- 15:43Speaker 4: If I'm a Packers fan and I hear this quote,
- 15:46Speaker 4: I'm making sure I'm going every game and booing for
- 15:48Speaker 4: the rest.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Of the season. Yes, before it even starts. Play better
- 15:51Speaker 2: and I'll stop booing.
- 15:54Speaker 4: So my sports radio staple today.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Sorry, yes.
- 15:57Speaker 4: I've got a who says no for you guys, and
- 15:59Speaker 4: I think I'm the first person who's bringing this exact
- 16:02Speaker 4: who says no to the table.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Really?
- 16:06Speaker 4: The Packers send the Giants Jordan Love. The Giants send
- 16:11Speaker 4: the Packers Jackson Dart a first and a second because, Mikey,
- 16:15Speaker 4: you mentioned they don't have a first-round pick next year.
- 16:18Speaker 4: You recoup that first-round pick if you're the Packers, and
- 16:21Speaker 4: then you could also start the quarterback cycle over. getting
- 16:24Speaker 4: somebody like Jackson Dart. You're taking a flyer on Jackson
- 16:27Speaker 4: Dart coming back next year and basically just punting on
- 16:29Speaker 4: this season and saying it's a lost cause. And then
- 16:31Speaker 4: the Giants, you're getting a franchise quarterback where, The question was,
- 16:35Speaker 4: is Jackson Dart a franchise quarterback? Jordan Love is a
- 16:38Speaker 4: franchise quarterback, and maybe putting him in Harbaugh's system gives
- 16:42Speaker 4: him more structure to kind of elevate his performance.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I would say there's questions as to whether or not
- 16:46Speaker 1: Jordan Love is a franchise quarterback. I understand what you're saying.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Who does say no in that scenario, Mikey? And you're
- 16:52Speaker 1: saying doing it right now. Doing it right now. Okay,
- 16:55Speaker 1: so Jackson Dart goes to the Packers, a first and
- 16:58Speaker 1: a second goes to the Packers, and the Giants get
- 17:00Speaker 1: back Jordan Love. I don't know if Jordan Love is
- 17:03Speaker 1: good enough for the Giants to part ways with Jackson Dart,
- 17:06Speaker 1: with a first, with a second, where Harbaugh is going
- 17:09Speaker 1: to feel confident that if I get Jordan Love, I
- 17:12Speaker 1: have a great shot at winning that division and a
- 17:14Speaker 1: great shot of going deep in the playoffs.
- 17:16Speaker 2: I don't think Jordan Love is that guy.
- 17:17Speaker 4: I think the Packers are closer to saying no in
- 17:20Speaker 4: this scenario than the Giants.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I think Harbaugh is closer to saying no.
- 17:24Speaker 6: I do.
- 17:27Speaker 3: I do. I think the Packers say no. You just
- 17:29Speaker 3: don't know what Jordan Love is.
- 17:32Speaker 5: And to punt on a season is really hard to
- 17:36Speaker 5: sell to, as you said, owners of the team who
- 17:39Speaker 5: are also fans.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Give me a break on owning like 0.07% of a team.
- 17:45Speaker 2: It matters, but it matters that much.
- 17:48Speaker 3: They frame that certificate.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Does he know what that, let's say it is 0.7.
- 17:53Speaker 2: How much that would be?
- 17:54Speaker 8: 0.07.
- 17:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Do you know how much money that would be if
- 17:58Speaker 1: you had 0.07% of the Yankees?
- 18:01Speaker 4: I'm just, it's just such like a, I'm just so
- 18:03Speaker 4: tired of always hearing about Packers fans owning the team
- 18:06Speaker 4: when it's like, Okay, you owe like a $ 50 share
- 18:09Speaker 4: of the team. Okay, congratulations. Sell that stock to somebody
- 18:13Speaker 4: who actually cares.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Get over yourselves.
- 18:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 4: But, Mikey, if I'm making the argument for the Packers
- 18:19Speaker 4: to make the trade, there's three scenarios that you could
- 18:21Speaker 4: potentially enter next season if you make this move and
- 18:25Speaker 4: you ship Jordan Love to the Giants. You enter next
- 18:29Speaker 4: season with one of these young quarterbacks, Darian Mensah preferably
- 18:33Speaker 4: from Miami, and Jackson Dart, in a quarterback battle for
- 18:37Speaker 4: training camp. And at the worst-case scenario, you probably have
- 18:39Speaker 4: the best backup in the NFL, and we're seeing the
- 18:42Speaker 4: importance of having good backups when six, seven teams right
- 18:45Speaker 4: now are playing their backup quarterback. The second option is
- 18:49Speaker 4: you draft somebody with that first-round pick that you now
- 18:52Speaker 4: recoup for Jackson Dart and kind of strengthen that team
- 18:55Speaker 4: with him coming back from getting his knee restructured. Or
- 18:59Speaker 4: if you really love one of those quarterbacks, you flip Dart,
- 19:03Speaker 4: Because you're telling me Dart wouldn't be in demand as
- 19:05Speaker 4: an asset around draft time?
- 19:06Speaker 2: He would be. He's really hell-bent on this trade.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I think it's a good trade for all parties involved.
- 19:13Speaker 2: He really is. He wants this to happen.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Have you heard this take before?
- 19:17Speaker 2: No, and I hope to never hear it again.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Brady Quinn next.

- 20:59Speaker 1: A pleasure to bring on Brady Quinn, two pros and
- 21:02Speaker 1: a cup of Joe, weekday 6 to 9 a.m. Eastern
- 21:05Speaker 1: here on Fox Sports Radio. We're headed into a big
- 21:08Speaker 1: college football weekend. Taylor greeted Brady today by saying, you physically, just,
- 21:13Speaker 1: you know, physical appearance, you are the guy of all
- 21:17Speaker 1: the quarterbacks who have ever played in the NFL and
- 21:19Speaker 1: college football, you physically most look like a quarterback.
- 21:23Speaker 2: What'd you make of that? Was that a compliment? What'd
- 21:25Speaker 2: you think?
- 21:27Speaker 6: No, I guess I'll take it as a compliment. That's
- 21:29Speaker 6: a good thing. Some people, when they see me, they're like, man,
- 21:32Speaker 6: do you play linebacker?
- 21:33Speaker 7: I'm like, no. We used to be, as quarterbacks.
- 21:35Speaker 6: A lot bigger back in the day when you had
- 21:37Speaker 6: to play under center and you didn't get the protection
- 21:39Speaker 6: these guys are getting nowadays.
- 21:41Speaker 2: So, no.
- 21:43Speaker 7: But I appreciate that, Taylor. It was a nice compliment.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Who looks most like a quarterback to you, Brady Quinn?
- 21:50Speaker 7: Oh, man.
- 21:50Speaker 6: I'm going to go– I mean, obviously I was a
- 21:52Speaker 6: big Tom Brady fan growing up.
- 21:54Speaker 7: He's a little ways older than.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Me, so I'd obviously say him. But Danny Marino. I'd
- 21:59Speaker 6: say Dan Marino just looks like that guy. It's like
- 22:03Speaker 6: that's the leader of a team. You want to go
- 22:05Speaker 6: grab a beer with. Just looks like a gunslinger. Looks
- 22:08Speaker 6: like a quarterback, you know?
- 22:10Speaker 5: Yes.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Brady, who's the college football team?
- 22:13Speaker 1: And we're early in the season, obviously, but I'm wondering
- 22:16Speaker 1: the team that has surprised you the most in.
- 22:17Speaker 2: A good way.
- 22:24Speaker 6: Louisville's been one that I really wasn't anticipating, thinking that, like,
- 22:28Speaker 6: all right, we might have some competition in the ACC.
- 22:30Speaker 6: Lincoln-Keenholes has been phenomenal for them. You know, I think
- 22:34Speaker 6: he's a great fit for Jeff Braum. And Jeff Braum's
- 22:37Speaker 6: got such a propensity as being a former quarterback, but
- 22:40Speaker 6: for developing them. helping those guys play to the best
- 22:43Speaker 6: of their ability. He just runs a very quarterback-friendly system.
- 22:47Speaker 6: It feels like every year, whoever they've got there, like
- 22:50Speaker 6: when I put on the tape and watch, they're always
- 22:52Speaker 6: maximizing what they're capable of. And Keenholz is a really
- 22:55Speaker 6: good athlete. He's more of a dual-threat quarterback than people
- 22:58Speaker 6: probably realize from seeing him at Ohio State. So that's
- 23:01Speaker 6: a team that I think defensively has been pretty solid.
- 23:03Speaker 6: It's been a better debut so far for Louisville and
- 23:08Speaker 6: Lincoln Keenholz than I anticipated coming into the season.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Is there a player that has surprised you the most
- 23:12Speaker 1: where you think to yourself, wow.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I didn't know that guy could do that?
- 23:19Speaker 6: I don't know that I would put it that way.
- 23:23Speaker 6: There's been probably two, one good, one bad. Kamario Taylor
- 23:26Speaker 6: has just been phenomenal. His tape, it was fine last year,
- 23:30Speaker 6: but this year, just how much more efficient he's been, accurate.
- 23:35Speaker 6: the timing rhythm to the offense. Like he just feels
- 23:37Speaker 6: so much more comfortable and poised in the pocket. He's,
- 23:40Speaker 6: he's special. Like that, that young man is incredible and
- 23:44Speaker 6: he's got to have people at the next level drooling
- 23:47Speaker 6: over his upside and what he's capable of because he's big.
- 23:50Speaker 7: He's got a cannon for an arm.
- 23:53Speaker 6: I don't know if I've seen a ball come out
- 23:55Speaker 6: of a guy's hand and spin it the way he
- 23:58Speaker 6: does and make it look so effortless.
- 24:00Speaker 7: I mean, I, I don't even want to say, I
- 24:02Speaker 7: was going to say maybe since Jamarcus, like Jamarcus.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I was going to say since Marino.
- 24:06Speaker 3: Marino.
- 24:07Speaker 6: Well, maybe Marino, but I was going to say, I mean,
- 24:10Speaker 6: I wasn't, I was young when I watched, when I
- 24:11Speaker 6: watched Marino back as the pros, but I would, I
- 24:14Speaker 6: would say like, and I know that comparison is going
- 24:16Speaker 6: to be a lot of, you know, mixed reviews because
- 24:19Speaker 6: of what happened with Jamarcus, but I just mean as
- 24:21Speaker 6: far as the ease in which he throws and the
- 24:24Speaker 6: velocity that's on that ball and how, when he, like
- 24:28Speaker 6: when you throw a go route, especially with there, if
- 24:29Speaker 6: there's a trajectory on it, Some guys have to worry
- 24:32Speaker 6: about the middle field safety, maybe making a play on it.
- 24:34Speaker 6: His is, it's like, it doesn't matter. Like that guy's
- 24:36Speaker 6: never going to get there in time. It's just, it
- 24:38Speaker 6: gets up, it gets down. It's right where it needs
- 24:40Speaker 6: to be.
- 24:40Speaker 7: It's perfect.
- 24:41Speaker 6: Like he's, he's been incredible to watch so far. And
- 24:43Speaker 6: I know they've got a big one this week. And
- 24:45Speaker 6: then probably on the, on the negative side, I'd say material.
- 24:48Speaker 6: Like I really was looking forward to a healthy job.
- 24:50Speaker 7: It's here.
- 24:51Speaker 6: He's been in that system with Ben Arbuckle for really
- 24:53Speaker 6: four years, dating back to the time in Washington state.
- 24:56Speaker 7: And he's, He looks at times lost.
- 24:59Speaker 6: I mean, even his touchdown pass this past week, you know,
- 25:03Speaker 6: he was searching all over the field and kind of admitted,
- 25:06Speaker 6: like he heard the crowd react to Isaiah Satanga being
- 25:09Speaker 6: wide-ass open in the.
- 25:09Speaker 7: Middle of the field. And by the way, that's their
- 25:11Speaker 7: number one receiver.
- 25:12Speaker 6: Like that's the guy who they look to, you know,
- 25:14Speaker 6: more often than not with his first read or almost
- 25:17Speaker 6: on any play they.
- 25:18Speaker 7: Designed in their past game.
- 25:19Speaker 6: So it's just a bit surprising to see him struggling
- 25:22Speaker 6: at this point the way he has. The Michigan game
- 25:25Speaker 6: was tough, tough environment, tough defense to go up against. But,
- 25:28Speaker 6: you know, since then, really, it's just he's just not
- 25:30Speaker 6: really recovered.
- 25:32Speaker 4: Brady, with Ole Miss traveling to the Swamp to take
- 25:34Speaker 4: on Florida this weekend, how worried would you be for
- 25:37Speaker 4: Ole Miss with the emotional hangover after that Lane Kiffin game? Hmm.
- 25:42Speaker 6: I think it'd be a lot harder if you were favored,
- 25:44Speaker 6: but I think Pete Golden can just turn around and
- 25:47Speaker 6: look at his team and say, you know how much
- 25:49Speaker 6: people value that win you had last week?
- 25:51Speaker 7: Zero.
- 25:52Speaker 8: Zero.
- 25:53Speaker 6: Because they've got you as a dog on the road. Now,
- 25:55Speaker 6: three and a half point last time I looked, dog,
- 25:58Speaker 6: going to the swamp. So that's how much they care,
- 26:00Speaker 6: and that's how much they believe in you guys being
- 26:02Speaker 6: able to be one of the top teams in college football.
- 26:05Speaker 7: So go prove them wrong.
- 26:06Speaker 6: I mean, I'm arguably the biggest stage– With all the
- 26:09Speaker 6: drama that went into that game, I understand the theory
- 26:13Speaker 6: behind the letdown. I just feel like this team's built
- 26:16Speaker 6: the fabrics stronger than that. With the way Trinidad Chavez
- 26:21Speaker 6: has played so far and led this year, the way
- 26:23Speaker 6: that defense has responded, which Pete Golding obviously remains, so
- 26:27Speaker 6: I wasn't overly concerned about what they look like defensively.
- 26:30Speaker 6: But here's a skip to Pete, and he's making a
- 26:32Speaker 6: case for being the best quarterback in college football.
- 26:34Speaker 7: With a handful of other guys.
- 26:36Speaker 2: How do you think his game translates to the NFL?
- 26:39Speaker 7: Extremely well. He's got such a strong arm.
- 26:43Speaker 6: He can create, he can hurt you with his legs.
- 26:46Speaker 6: The way he's throwing the ball this year too, in particular,
- 26:49Speaker 6: like at all three levels, that's where I've seen a
- 26:51Speaker 6: bit of that development. I mean, he's, he's putting balls
- 26:54Speaker 6: in spots in that intermediate range, you know, from 10
- 26:57Speaker 6: to 20, 10 to 25 yards where you've got to
- 27:00Speaker 6: be able to throw balls into windows or up and
- 27:01Speaker 6: over a defender, but in front of the next one,
- 27:04Speaker 6: he's displayed that a lot more this season too. And
- 27:06Speaker 6: it's just, it's fun to watch because he's kind of
- 27:08Speaker 6: coming into his own. And you can tell he's playing
- 27:11Speaker 6: with so much swagger and confidence. It's a pleasure to
- 27:15Speaker 6: watch his tape, as weird as that sounds to admit.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Brady, it's such a great weekend of college football.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I'm just going to go through some of the big
- 27:22Speaker 1: games here and just get your thoughts on them quickly.
- 27:24Speaker 2: Texas at Tennessee.
- 27:27Speaker 6: This is a test, obviously, for Texas because that environment
- 27:30Speaker 6: is one of the toughest I ever played in my
- 27:32Speaker 6: college career down in Neyland.
- 27:33Speaker 7: But I also think it's a test for Josh Hype
- 27:35Speaker 7: on his system.
- 27:36Speaker 6: You know, the quarterback's a young player taking on a
- 27:40Speaker 6: Texas team that's already got a pretty big win and
- 27:42Speaker 6: was able to kind of eliminate or at least shut
- 27:44Speaker 6: down Ohio State enough to find a way of beating them,
- 27:47Speaker 6: you know, in Austin. But I also think it's like, hey,
- 27:50Speaker 6: can this scheme, can this offense really like surpass what
- 27:54Speaker 6: people view and who they look at as the number
- 27:56Speaker 6: one team? Because it seems like there's a ceiling there.
- 27:59Speaker 6: And so it could be a pretty big win for
- 28:01Speaker 6: Tennessee fans. Really, Josh, I would kind of put a
- 28:03Speaker 6: stamp on, you know, what what the ceiling is for
- 28:06Speaker 6: this Tennessee Volunteers team.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Iowa, Michigan. What are your thoughts there?
- 28:11Speaker 6: A lot of punting. No one's afraid to punt in
- 28:18Speaker 6: that game. In all seriousness, two very well-coached teams, very
- 28:23Speaker 6: sound teams. It's going to come down to who makes
- 28:26Speaker 6: the most mistakes. I worry for Michigan because of the
- 28:29Speaker 6: youth on offense, but we've already seen them in a
- 28:33Speaker 6: really big game earlier this year. And, you know, the
- 28:35Speaker 6: way they ran Bryce Underwood, the game plan they put
- 28:37Speaker 6: together for that, it makes me think you're going to
- 28:40Speaker 6: see a heavy dose of him again in the run
- 28:41Speaker 6: game with some shots mixed in. And he's developed chemistry
- 28:45Speaker 6: with JJ Buchanan. He's become their kind of go-to receiver.
- 28:47Speaker 6: But Marsh is... Very capable, too, of getting behind secondaries.
- 28:51Speaker 6: So I like Michigan in that one. And I think they,
- 28:53Speaker 6: you know, again, it being in Ann Arbor, to me,
- 28:56Speaker 6: makes all the difference in the world. Because that defense
- 28:59Speaker 6: is one of the best. They're hard to throw on.
- 29:01Speaker 6: It's hard to get to edges with the way they
- 29:03Speaker 6: kind of pin inside and down.
- 29:06Speaker 7: So I think the advantage is theirs to Michigan, for sure.
- 29:09Speaker 2: This game is so fascinating to me.
- 29:11Speaker 3: USC, Oregon.
- 29:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 6: It's one of those narrative dictating games, right? For Dan Lanning,
- 29:18Speaker 6: they've been building towards something in Eugene. And obviously they
- 29:22Speaker 6: stumbled this year versus Oklahoma State. And there's no way
- 29:24Speaker 6: of getting around it, but you're on the road again.
- 29:26Speaker 6: And your defense hasn't been as good as you have hoped.
- 29:28Speaker 6: Your offensive line has struggled a bit too. Dante Moore,
- 29:31Speaker 6: to me, has made up.
- 29:32Speaker 7: For some of that.
- 29:33Speaker 6: But it's going to be a test. And I think
- 29:35Speaker 6: it all comes down to the physicality. This SC team
- 29:39Speaker 6: is more physical than they have. been in the past
- 29:41Speaker 6: however there's some concerns for me with their defense you
- 29:43Speaker 6: know the Gary Patterson addition I thought was going to
- 29:47Speaker 6: be lights out and this was going to really catapult
- 29:49Speaker 6: them up into one of the top teams in college
- 29:51Speaker 6: football but when you allow Rutgers to keep that game
- 29:56Speaker 6: close last week and I get it it's a West
- 29:57Speaker 6: Coast team on the East Coast I It's hard to
- 30:00Speaker 6: get up for that, especially in that environment where there's not.
- 30:02Speaker 7: Many people there for it. Those are just a bunch
- 30:04Speaker 7: of excuses.
- 30:06Speaker 6: If you're as good as you think you say you're
- 30:07Speaker 6: going to be with Lincoln Riley and that window's open,
- 30:10Speaker 6: this is a game that you need to dominate. You
- 30:11Speaker 6: need to be the more physical team, running the football,
- 30:14Speaker 6: stopping the run in your house. And so that's really
- 30:17Speaker 6: what's at stake here. Because if they don't win this one,
- 30:19Speaker 6: it's like, when's it ever going to happen?
- 30:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Well, speaking of two teams that need to win, LSU
- 30:23Speaker 2: and Texas.
- 30:24Speaker 8: A & M.
- 30:26Speaker 6: Yeah, it's a bounce back game really for both quarterbacks.
- 30:29Speaker 6: I thought Marcel Reed looked a little bit better game
- 30:33Speaker 6: one this season. And since then, he's kind of fallen
- 30:36Speaker 6: off a bit. Just doesn't seem overly comfortable. Seems to
- 30:39Speaker 6: throw much better to his right than his left and
- 30:41Speaker 6: breaking down some of his tape. And I'm sure the
- 30:44Speaker 6: LSU defensive staff is very aware of that. But on
- 30:46Speaker 6: the flip side, Sam Leavitt, it hasn't been a great
- 30:50Speaker 6: two-game swing for him. Basically after Clemson, which there was
- 30:54Speaker 6: even some throws and some things you saw there that
- 30:56Speaker 6: made you a bit concerned. But that first half of
- 30:59Speaker 6: Law Tech versus Law Tech was awful. And then watching
- 31:02Speaker 6: back last week's tape, it's like he's leaving clean pockets,
- 31:06Speaker 6: missing some throws. I mean, he's doing a lot of
- 31:09Speaker 6: what I saw at Arizona State, where if the first
- 31:11Speaker 6: read's not there, he struggles a bit to see the
- 31:13Speaker 6: field and stay patient with the progression. Define number two,
- 31:17Speaker 6: number three. And I get he's an athletic guy, so
- 31:19Speaker 6: he can hurt you with his legs. But there's also
- 31:21Speaker 6: a point in time where when you do escape the
- 31:23Speaker 6: pocket and you roll to your left, you're cutting the
- 31:26Speaker 6: field in half and you're throwing on the run to
- 31:29Speaker 6: your left as a right-handed quarterback, which is a much
- 31:31Speaker 6: lower percentage completion throw. So you're almost playing in the
- 31:34Speaker 6: defense's hands. So he's got to get more confident with
- 31:37Speaker 6: his protection and more confident with Charlie Weiss Jr.
- 31:40Speaker 7: And Lane Kiff and the system they have for him
- 31:42Speaker 7: because the plays are there. Charlie Weiss Jr.
- 31:44Speaker 6: Doesn't get enough credit for being the brains behind that
- 31:46Speaker 6: entire operation.
- 31:48Speaker 7: It's just Sam Leavitt has to trust it and has
- 31:49Speaker 7: to go out and execute. And you see glimpses of that.
- 31:53Speaker 6: It's almost like he needs to be tired out a
- 31:55Speaker 6: little bit and just settle down at the beginning of games.
- 31:57Speaker 7: And once he settles in, he's fine. But it takes
- 32:00Speaker 7: him a little bit to find that rhythm.
- 32:01Speaker 2: I'd ask you about Notre Dame, but we're still waiting
- 32:03Speaker 2: for them to play someone. I mean, let's go.
- 32:05Speaker 7: Oh, come on, man.
- 32:08Speaker 6: Go watch Wisconsin be better than people think.
- 32:12Speaker 7: Hey, who's Miami playing? Do we want Notre Dame to
- 32:14Speaker 7: go play Florida A & M? Is that what we want?
- 32:16Speaker 7: Is that where this whole thing's going?
- 32:17Speaker 1: You're 100% right, but I didn't play at Miami, nor
- 32:19Speaker 1: did I go to Miami, nor do I care about Miami.
- 32:21Speaker 3: I'm just saying, I know where you live. I know
- 32:24Speaker 3: where you live.
- 32:25Speaker 5: All right?
- 32:28Speaker 7: Look, I would say this.
- 32:29Speaker 6: They've done exactly what they were supposed to do I
- 32:31Speaker 6: always felt like last week, I know there were people
- 32:33Speaker 6: who were frustrated with not covering the spread, which now
- 32:38Speaker 6: it's like a thing now. It's like a team under
- 32:40Speaker 6: a cheese if they don't cover the spread.
- 32:42Speaker 2: If they don't win you money.
- 32:45Speaker 7: I get that. But that game, that was an inflated line.
- 32:48Speaker 6: You knew Pat Fitzgerald would come up with a plan
- 32:50Speaker 6: to limit the amount of possessions that Notre Dame got.
- 32:53Speaker 6: The weather forecast played a big factor, particularly the second half.
- 32:56Speaker 7: All those things. you're just kind of like, that's.
- 32:58Speaker 6: One of those, you go win, you get out of
- 33:01Speaker 6: there with a double digit win, be happy with it
- 33:03Speaker 6: and move on. Like there's, there's too much of this
- 33:06Speaker 6: box score.
- 33:07Speaker 7: What was the spread?
- 33:08Speaker 6: Oh, we, we didn't, we didn't appease the odds makers
- 33:12Speaker 6: that are, that's going on right now in college football.
- 33:14Speaker 6: I think for a lot of us who've been in
- 33:16Speaker 6: it and played it, um, It's just one of those
- 33:19Speaker 6: things where a win's a win, man. Take it and
- 33:21Speaker 6: move on. There are some things to clean up, but
- 33:24Speaker 6: that wasn't one where I came away overly concerned about
- 33:26Speaker 6: Notre Dame. I think they've played a little better schedule
- 33:29Speaker 6: than people want to give them credit.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Brady, as a former Browns quarterback, I'm curious your take
- 33:33Speaker 4: on their quarterback situation where Deshaun Watson came out yesterday
- 33:37Speaker 4: and said he's ready for support from Browns fans this weekend.
- 33:42Speaker 7: Well, that's nice to hear. I mean, the last time
- 33:43Speaker 7: you came out and said something about Browns fans, it
- 33:45Speaker 7: was the exact opposite, right?
- 33:46Speaker 6: So it feels like someone gave him the cliff notes
- 33:50Speaker 6: to how to respond to the fan base before your
- 33:53Speaker 6: home opener.
- 33:54Speaker 7: That's good. Glad we got that book. Maybe that was
- 33:56Speaker 7: like the.
- 33:58Speaker 7: Yeah, the book for dummies, whatever it is. It's like,
- 34:00Speaker 7: here's what you do. Read from this.
- 34:04Speaker 2: Can responses.
- 34:05Speaker 6: You don't want to take shots at your fan base
- 34:09Speaker 6: before a season starts and you name the starter.
- 34:13Speaker 7: I would say this.
- 34:14Speaker 6: What's concerning is everything that came out before the game
- 34:17Speaker 6: last week versus Tampa and how that.
- 34:20Speaker 7: Comes out, why that comes out. You know, nothing is.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Is random.
- 34:25Speaker 6: There was obviously someone leaking out messaging that a, if
- 34:30Speaker 6: things don't go well, based on how they went in
- 34:32Speaker 6: week one and how they might look week two, we're
- 34:35Speaker 6: going to reevaluate the quarterback position. And you have to
- 34:37Speaker 6: say to yourself, if you're a Browns fan. So we
- 34:40Speaker 6: spent the entire off season with these two in a
- 34:44Speaker 6: quarterback battle. And then we get into the season and
- 34:47Speaker 6: name one of them. And after basically one or two games,
- 34:49Speaker 6: both on the road, which is hard to win in
- 34:51Speaker 6: the NFL on the road, we're just like thrown into
- 34:53Speaker 6: town saying, well, we got to go reevaluate it again.
- 34:56Speaker 7: I mean, I just, it.
- 34:59Speaker 6: Seems like the Browns organization can't get out of their
- 35:01Speaker 6: own way at times. And this is one of those instances.
- 35:04Speaker 6: Like if you want to play Shador, cause you're curious
- 35:07Speaker 6: what you have in him, then let him go play.
- 35:09Speaker 6: You know, if you already feel like you have what
- 35:11Speaker 6: you have in Deshaun Watson's, what you have that, and
- 35:13Speaker 6: you're kind of looking more to the future, then, then.
- 35:15Speaker 7: Let it be the backup.
- 35:16Speaker 6: I mean, it just, none of it makes any sense
- 35:18Speaker 6: to me either be behind the guy who's quarterback one
- 35:21Speaker 6: or don't, but there's, there had to be something to
- 35:23Speaker 6: a lot of the reporting that came out. And so like,
- 35:25Speaker 6: I think Browns fans will support him maybe until the
- 35:29Speaker 6: first incompletion or interception, but like, You know, they want
- 35:33Speaker 6: to win. Browns fans are some of the best in
- 35:34Speaker 6: the world. Like, they want to win.
- 35:36Speaker 5: Yes.
- 35:37Speaker 6: And so, you know, as a quarterback, you don't need
- 35:38Speaker 6: to give them any reason to not, you know, want
- 35:41Speaker 6: to cheer for you. And obviously, there's a lot of
- 35:42Speaker 6: things in Deshaun Watson's past, whether it's poor play or
- 35:46Speaker 6: things before he even got to Cleveland, that would give
- 35:48Speaker 6: him the reason not to. But I think they'll be
- 35:50Speaker 6: supportive to a certain extent. And if things go, you know, sideways,
- 35:53Speaker 6: I think they'll be kind of back going again.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I don't think they'll all be supportive. Yes, fans want
- 35:58Speaker 2: to win.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Not all fans want to win at all costs. it's
- 36:01Speaker 1: going to be interesting to see when the entire fan
- 36:03Speaker 1: base gets behind him.
- 36:04Speaker 2: Like, let me present this scenario.
- 36:05Speaker 1: If they beat Carolina, then Pittsburgh, with Deshaun Watson, he
- 36:08Speaker 1: plays well, they're 3-1.
- 36:10Speaker 2: That entire fan base is getting behind him, right?
- 36:13Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 36:13Speaker 6: I mean, look, and that was, again, like, why when
- 36:15Speaker 6: they initially brought him in. There were a lot of
- 36:18Speaker 6: people who were like, ah, I don't feel great about it. But, hey,
- 36:20Speaker 6: he was talented in Houston, so let's go. Like, he's
- 36:22Speaker 6: our guy. You know, he did his contract. So, you know, again,
- 36:26Speaker 6: fans are willing to talk themselves into– rooting for their
- 36:30Speaker 6: team or their player, despite, again, maybe some character flaws.
- 36:36Speaker 6: And that's part of sports. So I'm with you on that.
- 36:40Speaker 6: I think if things go well, and I'll be very honest,
- 36:43Speaker 6: I think this is a really good pairing between Todd
- 36:46Speaker 6: Munkin and the type of system he can run for
- 36:48Speaker 6: Deshaun Watson and really Watson's skill set. This is a
- 36:53Speaker 6: match made in heaven for Deshaun Watson to resurrect his career.
- 36:57Speaker 6: With what Kevin Stefanski wants to do, how he likes
- 37:00Speaker 6: to do things more with the outside zone scheme and
- 37:02Speaker 6: some of the stuff maybe more in the center. Those
- 37:04Speaker 6: sorts of things, I always thought were going to be
- 37:06Speaker 6: difficult to get the best out of Deshaun Watson with
- 37:08Speaker 6: what they wanted to do and what Watson does best.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Two pros and a cup of joe. Weekday, 6 to
- 37:13Speaker 1: 9 a.m. Eastern here on Fox Sports Radio. The great
- 37:17Speaker 1: Brady Quinn with us. We appreciate the time, man. We're
- 37:19Speaker 1: quick today. We kept it.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Listen, we kept it sports, man.
- 37:22Speaker 3: We did.
- 37:22Speaker 2: You proud of us?
- 37:23Speaker 7: We did. There's a lot of other things we could
- 37:27Speaker 7: have talked about. We kept it sports.
- 37:28Speaker 2: We'll do it next time when we have more time.
- 37:30Speaker 2: I appreciate your time, though. Thank you, buddy.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Sounds good.
- 37:33Speaker 2: All right, man.
