- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, welcome back to Inside the Data on Inside the Birds.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I'm Jeff Mosher, and when we're talking about data and
- 0:16Speaker 1: analytics and the Eagles, you know we're talking with Sam,
- 0:19Speaker 1: the man Finkel. What's going on, Sam? How you doing?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Doing great. Doing great. How about yourself?
- 0:24Speaker 1: I'm doing great myself. Are we allowed to share some
- 0:27Speaker 1: great personal news here on the pod for you, or
- 0:28Speaker 1: is that something you'd rather just, you know, keep people up?
- 0:31Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 0:31Speaker 2: You can share it.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Well, we would like to. Well, technically, I should be
- 0:36Speaker 1: fighting with you. I should be sniping with you like
- 0:39Speaker 1: I've done all throughout my career with people of your association.
- 0:43Speaker 1: But no, I have actually a lot of decent friends
- 0:46Speaker 1: who are NFL agents. And Sam has passed the exam,
- 0:49Speaker 1: needed to be in the NFLPA. So if he chooses
- 0:53Speaker 1: that lifestyle, Sam could become an NFL agent. He has
- 0:57Speaker 1: the qualifications now to do it. You ready for that
- 0:59Speaker 1: kind of life, by the way? You know, we'll see.
- 1:02Speaker 2: It's just the optionality that's important.
- 1:04Speaker 1: You know? Yes, yeah. Now, just don't turn into Drew
- 1:07Speaker 1: overnight on me, okay? All right? Don't big time. Sounds good.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Sounds good. I would never.
- 1:13Speaker 1: All right. As we do each time this year, Sam,
- 1:16Speaker 1: we like to take a look at the Eagles roster
- 1:18Speaker 1: after it's come out, you know, after they officialized their
- 1:22Speaker 1: 53-man roster and then their practice squad. And we like
- 1:24Speaker 1: to take a look at how it might compare– To
- 1:27Speaker 1: the rest of the league, we've done age in the past.
- 1:30Speaker 1: In this one, you did something different, which is really cool,
- 1:32Speaker 1: which is the composition of the roster by positions and
- 1:37Speaker 1: other metrics and how that compares to the rest of
- 1:40Speaker 1: the NFL. What was the driving force behind this idea
- 1:45Speaker 1: that you have and what were you looking to come
- 1:48Speaker 1: up with?
- 1:51Speaker 3: We've done age historically and we've done other analyses, but
- 1:56Speaker 3: I think that what was interesting is seeing how the
- 1:59Speaker 3: Eagles historically have composed their roster, how it looks different
- 2:02Speaker 3: this year and kind of how that compares to the
- 2:05Speaker 3: NFL as a whole. So just kind of seeing like,
- 2:09Speaker 3: did they, you know, it's interesting.
- 2:11Speaker 2: They had four quarterbacks, you know, is that too many?
- 2:14Speaker 3: What does that look like? Has that done that before
- 2:16Speaker 3: in the past couple of years? What does that look
- 2:18Speaker 3: like in the NFL? And just looking at each position,
- 2:20Speaker 3: kind of figuring out, you know, what was different that
- 2:23Speaker 3: the Eagles did this year compared to themselves and compared
- 2:25Speaker 3: to the league.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Sure. And it's really interesting. Is there anything that kind
- 2:29Speaker 1: of like blew you away or knocked your socks off
- 2:31Speaker 1: or you found somewhat interesting?
- 2:34Speaker 3: I think it's interesting that their focus is actually more
- 2:37Speaker 3: on rostering offense, which I think makes sense when you
- 2:41Speaker 3: look at, you know, the QBs and the tight ends.
- 2:44Speaker 2: But I think it's interesting.
- 2:45Speaker 3: They have the like the maximum of, you know, offensive rosters.
- 2:52Speaker 3: There are other teams that have it, but they have
- 2:55Speaker 3: 27 offensive players.
- 2:58Speaker 2: When the average is 25.4.
- 3:00Speaker 3: So I think it's really interesting seeing how they compose
- 3:04Speaker 3: their roster in that sense. And if you looked in
- 3:06Speaker 3: the past, they haven't rostered as many tight ends, as
- 3:10Speaker 3: many quarterbacks.
- 3:11Speaker 2: So it's just interesting from an offensive standpoint.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, in a vacuum. it certainly makes sense to me
- 3:19Speaker 1: that they would have more offensive players because they have
- 3:21Speaker 1: more offensive questions and you need players to fill holes.
- 3:24Speaker 1: But when I was doing my projected 53 and I'm
- 3:28Speaker 1: thinking about guys like who are Bernard and Joshua Rue
- 3:32Speaker 1: and chance Campbell, when I did it, I had more
- 3:35Speaker 1: defensive players than offensive players, but it didn't turn out
- 3:38Speaker 1: to be that case. So, but in a vacuum, it
- 3:41Speaker 1: sort of makes sense with the transition to the new offense,
- 3:44Speaker 1: the new personnel and, some of the injuries that they've
- 3:46Speaker 1: had already at certain positions to, to be deeper there. Right.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 3:51Speaker 1: All right. So let's bring up the old chart. Here's
- 3:55Speaker 1: the chart itself. I can blow that up a little more.
- 3:58Speaker 1: First we'll go with how the roster is built. And
- 4:01Speaker 1: I love this. Can I show this separately or do
- 4:04Speaker 1: you think it has to be shown with.
- 4:06Speaker 2: No, they can be separate. They certainly can be separate. Yeah.
- 4:09Speaker 1: All right. So here is how the roster built and
- 4:12Speaker 1: explain the, for both viewers and listeners, what this chart
- 4:17Speaker 1: and graph means. Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 3: So I think before going into the actual chart, it's
- 4:23Speaker 3: always important to talk process.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Just for the sake of.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Simplicity for myself, I put O-line as its own unit.
- 4:32Speaker 3: I put D-line as its own unit. And where it
- 4:34Speaker 3: gets kind of important is for D-line, I included the
- 4:38Speaker 3: outside linebacker slash edge position just within D-line.
- 4:42Speaker 2: It's not always like that. It became more important when
- 4:46Speaker 2: I did all 32 teams.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And another important thing is when I did this, I
- 4:51Speaker 3: captured initial roster stat, like roster composition. So some of
- 4:57Speaker 3: these rosters have changed. Some of the teams had only
- 5:00Speaker 3: 52 players. Some of them only had one specialist instead
- 5:03Speaker 3: of three. So I do think those are kind of
- 5:06Speaker 3: important caveats before going into the actual data.
- 5:10Speaker 2: So I think that that's just important to put out there.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Absolutely and so you've created like a three-year look here
- 5:17Speaker 1: at where the eagles have kept how many numbers they've
- 5:20Speaker 1: kept at each position over the past three years and
- 5:22Speaker 1: then put it in bar graph form to to explain
- 5:26Speaker 1: whether they're keeping more or less on average comparatively the
- 5:29Speaker 1: last two years.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Yeah absolutely and so that gray first line is 24
- 5:34Speaker 3: the white is 25 and that, that teal green is 26.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So you can see at each position, it's kind of
- 5:42Speaker 3: varied to some degree. I mean, it looks like every
- 5:45Speaker 3: year has some variety and that's going to happen each
- 5:48Speaker 3: year that a roster is made because you have different talents,
- 5:51Speaker 3: different needs.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And so I think it's important to just kind of
- 5:55Speaker 2: see that trend.
- 5:55Speaker 3: And as you can see, you know, we talked about
- 5:57Speaker 3: some of the positions or any of them sticking out
- 6:00Speaker 3: to you that you want to really talk about from
- 6:01Speaker 3: this chart.
- 6:02Speaker 1: So, looking at D line when they kept 12 in 2024,
- 6:06Speaker 1: the year they won the super bowl. That is such a,
- 6:10Speaker 1: if you think about it philosophically from a roster building
- 6:13Speaker 1: and roster allocation standpoint, and you recognize that like 30%
- 6:19Speaker 1: of the time you're playing a five man front and
- 6:21Speaker 1: 70% of the time, roughly you're playing a four man front.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Even if you include like the backup, right. A five
- 6:30Speaker 1: would 10 or four would be eight. They kept 12 linemen,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you know, counting the edge group there. I believe it
- 6:39Speaker 1: wound up becoming 11. I think that's the year they
- 6:41Speaker 1: traded Contavious Street, who was like their seventh defensive tackle
- 6:46Speaker 1: that year. It's just– it's crazy to think that they
- 6:49Speaker 1: once kept 12 people in their front six, seven. And
- 6:54Speaker 1: it has gradually decreased to a– I would think what
- 6:57Speaker 1: is a more common NFL trend to 10. Last year
- 7:01Speaker 1: it was 11. this year it was 10.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Well the average is 10.3 for this year okay so
- 7:07Speaker 3: they're right around league average then yeah right but like
- 7:11Speaker 3: the difference between 10 and 12 is pretty staggering for
- 7:14Speaker 3: one position i would think i i would tend to
- 7:17Speaker 3: agree and actually i i had the 2024 average i
- 7:21Speaker 3: wonder if i can pull it up as we're as
- 7:23Speaker 3: we're talking because i i think that would be interesting
- 7:27Speaker 3: to kind.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Of yeah And then just watching, looking at the bar
- 7:31Speaker 1: graph to see how they are more in certain areas
- 7:36Speaker 1: that they've never been, or at least not over the
- 7:38Speaker 1: last three years, four quarterbacks compared to just three last year,
- 7:41Speaker 1: three the year before for our six wide receivers. That,
- 7:46Speaker 1: that to me, Sam is the standout because usually your
- 7:49Speaker 1: fifth and six wide receivers are on the team for
- 7:52Speaker 1: special teams. And if Elijah Moore is the sixth wide receiver,
- 7:57Speaker 1: it's not because of special teams. I mean, maybe they'll,
- 7:59Speaker 1: give him a shot at punt return, but it's not
- 8:01Speaker 1: something that he's done a whole lot. And the fact
- 8:04Speaker 1: that they have Britton Covey on the practice squad intent
- 8:09Speaker 1: makes me think they intend to elevate him at least
- 8:10Speaker 1: for the first three weeks to be the punt returner
- 8:13Speaker 1: until something happens. I just don't, I don't know that
- 8:16Speaker 1: I have faith or reason to believe that six wide
- 8:19Speaker 1: receivers is going to stay that way for the entirety
- 8:21Speaker 1: of the season.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I totally agree.
- 8:24Speaker 3: I still don't think four quarterbacks is going to stay
- 8:27Speaker 3: there for the entirety of the season.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's, that's possible, but I
- 8:32Speaker 1: think that, whereas I don't think the six wide receivers
- 8:36Speaker 1: will stay because eventually they will need to make a
- 8:41Speaker 1: roster move somewhere. I think the four quarterbacks stay unless
- 8:45Speaker 1: somebody comes knocking down their door for quarter. So one's
- 8:48Speaker 1: more in control. One's more out of control.
- 8:50Speaker 2: That's a better way to put it for sure. I
- 8:53Speaker 2: like that quite a bit.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah. What about you? What was your philosophy or thinking
- 8:59Speaker 1: on this six wide receivers?
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it makes sense which six they kept,
- 9:10Speaker 3: but I think it'll be kind of interesting to see
- 9:14Speaker 3: what they– I think you're right. I think that's probably
- 9:16Speaker 3: the fat that's going to get cut first. I think
- 9:18Speaker 3: that makes a lot of sense to me. So I
- 9:22Speaker 3: totally am there with you, and I'm just trying to
- 9:24Speaker 3: look at their– You know, I definitely think that the
- 9:29Speaker 3: wide receiver is the fat that gets trimmed first.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I think the more I'm thinking about it, I tend
- 9:33Speaker 2: to agree with you. Yeah.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Everything else, I think, falls in order. You know, 10
- 9:38Speaker 1: offensive linemen because they have some aging offensive linemen. And
- 9:43Speaker 1: it's actually down one from last year. It's still probably
- 9:46Speaker 1: more than the NFL norm. I mean, we'll get into
- 9:48Speaker 1: that in a second. I'm going to take a quick
- 9:52Speaker 1: sneak peek and show. Yeah, it's higher than the NFL average.
- 9:55Speaker 1: But they've got guys like Lane Johnson. They have a
- 9:59Speaker 1: guy in Landon Dickerson who it could be his last year.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Tyler Steen is a young player, but he's in the
- 10:04Speaker 1: fourth year of a four-year deal, rookie deal, and he
- 10:07Speaker 1: could potentially leave. So they need to have a set
- 10:11Speaker 1: of younger backup offensive linemen, and that's why guys like
- 10:15Speaker 1: Drew Kendall and Willie Lampkin and, of course, Markel Bell–
- 10:19Speaker 1: are all, Mike and Morris are all on the team. Right. Absolutely.
- 10:23Speaker 3: And I think that what, who they kept made a
- 10:26Speaker 3: lot of sense based on, you know, like you said,
- 10:28Speaker 3: the age experience and development standpoint. I think that that
- 10:33Speaker 3: makes a lot of sense, but I mean, solid backups
- 10:35Speaker 3: as well. I mean, these guys look like they're at
- 10:38Speaker 3: least serviceable. At least that they were one of the
- 10:41Speaker 3: highlights of the preseason. Not that many of the preseason, unfortunately.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I feel better overall about the state of Eagles offensive
- 10:50Speaker 1: line depth, but that's because more so I'm comparing it
- 10:54Speaker 1: to last year. Your first three off the bench last
- 10:57Speaker 1: year were Freddie Johnson, Matt Pryor, and Brett Toth. By
- 11:03Speaker 1: the way, poor Brett Toth. I think he's been out
- 11:05Speaker 1: for a while with concussions that have gone, or a
- 11:08Speaker 1: concussion that's gone a few weeks. I thought I read that,
- 11:10Speaker 1: so hopefully it's for the best for him. But we
- 11:14Speaker 1: know that Toth was limited, could only play and was
- 11:18Speaker 1: better used on the move as opposed to at the
- 11:20Speaker 1: point of attack. We know that despite having a very
- 11:23Speaker 1: good camp, Matt Pryor came in and was an absolute
- 11:25Speaker 1: turnstile against the L.A. Rams and then never really saw
- 11:28Speaker 1: the light of day again after that. And Freddie Johnson,
- 11:31Speaker 1: he's good. So now you've got Freddie Johnson back, right?
- 11:34Speaker 1: But you're pretty encouraged by what you were able to
- 11:37Speaker 1: see from Markel Bell. I feel like the cross trending
- 11:41Speaker 1: for Drew Kendall was good in terms good enough that
- 11:45Speaker 1: he can play at the Brett Toth level or better
- 11:48Speaker 1: when he gets in there. And, yeah, I would think
- 11:51Speaker 1: Markel Bell could be a better right tackle than Matt
- 11:54Speaker 1: Pryor was. But in fairness, I don't like to project
- 11:58Speaker 1: from the preseason. It's just that these guys are younger, bigger, stronger,
- 12:02Speaker 1: probably a little hungrier, you know, less mileage on them
- 12:05Speaker 1: than guys like Pryor had. So there's a reason, I
- 12:09Speaker 1: would say, to be encouraged without actually seeing it in
- 12:13Speaker 1: real life yet.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:15Speaker 3: And I'm just, I'm looking at the offensive line that
- 12:17Speaker 3: they kept in 2024. Cause we talked about 2025. It
- 12:22Speaker 3: was a much, you know, it was the nine, but
- 12:25Speaker 3: it was McKay Beckton, Landon Dickerson, Fred Johnson, Lane Johnson,
- 12:31Speaker 3: Cam Juergens, Trevor Keegan, Darren Kennard, Jordan Mailata and Tyler Steen.
- 12:36Speaker 2: So just for comparison sake. Yeah.
- 12:39Speaker 1: That's an interesting mix. Keegan's still hanging on. He didn't
- 12:42Speaker 1: really cut it with the Cowboys, but I believe he
- 12:43Speaker 1: got claimed by the Minnesota Vikings.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Just interesting to see how it shifted.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Sure.
- 12:52Speaker 1: So I thought because of the roster depth and decision-making
- 12:57Speaker 1: issues that they might have that they would potentially try
- 12:59Speaker 1: to sneak– in quotes, sneak– underwood onto the practice squad
- 13:05Speaker 1: have them elevated for three weeks and go shorter on
- 13:08Speaker 1: special teams it's just punter and long snapper i mean
- 13:10Speaker 1: puntering and kicker but they didn't mess around there and
- 13:15Speaker 1: rock wonderwood did make the team as a long snapper
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's a little bit of a i guess an underrated
- 13:20Speaker 1: concern going in because you just don't know how a
- 13:24Speaker 1: rookie free agent long snapper is going to fare.
- 13:26Speaker 3: But that's fair but i mean There were teams that
- 13:30Speaker 3: did that, right? I mean, the 49ers on their original
- 13:32Speaker 3: 53-man only had one special teamer.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 13:38Speaker 2: One?
- 13:38Speaker 1: Nice. Not a great measuring stick, given all their issues
- 13:44Speaker 1: with their kicking game over the last few years. Although
- 13:46Speaker 1: it's gotten straightened out last year, but they had a
- 13:48Speaker 1: lot with Moody as their kicker a couple years ago.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Yes, absolutely.
- 13:52Speaker 3: And then I'm just looking also the Chargers and the
- 13:56Speaker 3: Broncos on their original 53-man also only had two.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't want to say the Eagles invented it.
- 14:03Speaker 1: They were among the first. They did that last year. Yes.
- 14:05Speaker 1: It was a little bit of a surprise. I think
- 14:07Speaker 1: another team had done it too. It's not radical by
- 14:11Speaker 1: any stretch of the means. It makes sense at some point.
- 14:13Speaker 1: But I can also understand why the Eagles didn't want
- 14:15Speaker 1: to mess around with it this year.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Totally agree.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah. DBs, only nine DBs this year. This is an
- 14:23Speaker 1: area where the Eagles have been heavy in the past,
- 14:25Speaker 1: and I would only– I can only kind of chalk
- 14:29Speaker 1: that up to, A, it's not exactly a deep position.
- 14:33Speaker 1: You already have a couple of guys on the team
- 14:34Speaker 1: that are probably questionable to have made it, like Mack
- 14:38Speaker 1: McWilliams and even maybe Kelly Ringo, although Ringo is a
- 14:41Speaker 1: very good special teamer. And B– You've got guys who
- 14:47Speaker 1: can play multiple positions, so they kind of act as
- 14:49Speaker 1: like a two-for-one deal.
- 14:51Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Cooper DeGene and Michael Carter, for example.
- 14:54Speaker 2: But they're not the thinnest in the NFL. I mean,
- 14:56Speaker 2: there are some teams that have eight.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Yeah. So I think that's kind of interesting, too.
- 15:02Speaker 3: And I'm just going to look at my master chart
- 15:05Speaker 3: as we're talking.
- 15:07Speaker 2: The Rams, the Dolphins.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I knew the Rams would be one. Yep.
- 15:11Speaker 2: The Seahawks, the Bucs.
- 15:14Speaker 3: And the Commanders and their original 53-man all had an 8.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Yeah, because they have movable– like a guy like Amin
- 15:22Speaker 1: Wari for the Seahawks, who's just a stud, right? He's
- 15:25Speaker 1: a safety who comes into the box. He can play linebacker.
- 15:28Speaker 1: He can cover like a nickel. So he plays basically
- 15:31Speaker 1: three different positions for them. Who were the other teams
- 15:35Speaker 1: you said?
- 15:36Speaker 2: It was the Commanders, the Rams– um.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Oh the rams have quentin lake for that he moves
- 15:44Speaker 1: around everywhere they have another guy um that oh mcduffie
- 15:47Speaker 1: can play inside outside yep.
- 15:49Speaker 2: And the dolphins was the last.
- 15:50Speaker 1: One well the dolphins are just gonna look weird because
- 15:53Speaker 1: they're they're the worst team i've ever seen on paper.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Honestly yeah it's a pretty rough team on paper it's.
- 16:00Speaker 1: I man if adam joked in a podcast that if
- 16:03Speaker 1: the dolphins win five games if they go five and
- 16:05Speaker 1: twelve that Jeff Halfley might have to get consideration for
- 16:09Speaker 1: Coach of the Year, which is crazy but kind of true.
- 16:13Speaker 1: For sure.
- 16:14Speaker 3: One of our really good family friends is a Dolphins fan,
- 16:17Speaker 3: and he has a bet with his son-in-law about will
- 16:22Speaker 3: they win more than two games. So I think that
- 16:26Speaker 3: between that two to five is very fair.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I have not checked a local sportsbook on what their
- 16:31Speaker 1: over-under win total is. I have to think it's probably–
- 16:37Speaker 1: Something you can count on your hand. I'd be surprised
- 16:39Speaker 1: if it was six or higher, but I don't know.
- 16:41Speaker 1: I have not checked.
- 16:43Speaker 2: It's four and a half.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Four and a half?
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Wow. I'm almost tempted to, like, throw a few on
- 16:49Speaker 1: an over there. I mean, why not, right? They do
- 16:52Speaker 1: have to play the Jets. They get to play the
- 16:54Speaker 1: Jets twice. That is true. So there's at least a
- 16:56Speaker 1: shot of winning one of those games.
- 16:58Speaker 2: They open with the Raiders, too. Oh, man.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You know. Jeez. Who is going to watch that?
- 17:05Speaker 2: It's going to be a game.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Let me rephrase that. Who is not a Raiders or
- 17:10Speaker 1: a Jets fan? I mean, or a Raiders or a
- 17:12Speaker 1: Dolphins fan is going to watch that game.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It's a fair question.
- 17:16Speaker 1: You need some real schadenfreude reasons to watch that game.
- 17:18Speaker 1: You just hate that team. You're a Chiefs fan who
- 17:22Speaker 1: hates the Raiders, or you're a Bills fan who hates
- 17:24Speaker 1: the Dolphins. I don't know. There you go. Other than that,
- 17:28Speaker 1: now this is ironically a year that their thinnest– up
- 17:32Speaker 1: front with the defensive line because they didn't really hang
- 17:37Speaker 1: on to the developmental guys like they've done in the past.
- 17:40Speaker 1: If you think about it, they went– and I think
- 17:42Speaker 1: the Grenard injury probably factors in. I don't know if
- 17:47Speaker 1: Epinesa makes it if Grenard is healthy, but that also
- 17:53Speaker 1: means that if Epinesa doesn't, maybe like Ouar-Bernard does. I
- 17:56Speaker 1: don't think they go heavier at either linebacker or D-back
- 17:59Speaker 1: if Epinesa's not there.
- 18:02Speaker 3: I agree, and there was one other team that was
- 18:05Speaker 3: even thinner on the D-line.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Do you have a guess at which team that is?
- 18:09Speaker 1: A team that kept nine or fewer D-line, huh?
- 18:13Speaker 3: Eight. Oh, wow.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Eight?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Man, you've got to have some really strong depth. Broncos?
- 18:21Speaker 2: Same division, but not the Broncos.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Chargers?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Mm-mm.
- 18:27Speaker 1: Chiefs. Yep. Okay. I guess, well, they do have some
- 18:31Speaker 1: movable types. Do they have any injuries there? That surprises
- 18:37Speaker 1: me because usually Andy likes to have more guys up front,
- 18:40Speaker 1: but maybe he just didn't have anybody as a ninth
- 18:44Speaker 1: or a tenth that they felt were deserving of a
- 18:46Speaker 1: roster spot.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, totally plausible.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 1: All right.
- 18:50Speaker 3: It's interesting to see how other teams– I think that's
- 18:53Speaker 3: an important detail in this analysis, just kind of looking
- 18:56Speaker 3: at all the other teams and seeing how they built
- 18:58Speaker 3: their rosters.
- 18:59Speaker 2: For sure.
- 19:01Speaker 1: All right, so now this is what we've kind of
- 19:03Speaker 1: been talking about. You put the Eagles roster spots and
- 19:07Speaker 1: compare it to the NFL average and then the NFL
- 19:09Speaker 1: minimum and the NFL maximum. So how many teams, Sam,
- 19:14Speaker 1: are keeping the maximum on four quarterbacks? Is it four
- 19:17Speaker 1: or five?
- 19:18Speaker 2: For four quarterbacks, it is the Cleveland Browns, the Denver Broncos.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Oh, no, I'm sorry. I was looking at running backs.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Please ignore me. It's the Atlanta Falcons.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yep.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Understandably.
- 19:37Speaker 2: The Minnesota Vikings, understandably.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yep.
- 19:40Speaker 2: The Eagles.
- 19:40Speaker 1: The Steelers.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Yep.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And that's it.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Our boy Drew Aller earned his way on.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Yes, he did.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yes, he did. The Vikings. Who are there for? They've
- 19:50Speaker 1: got Wentz. They've got McCarthy. They've got Murray. Who is
- 19:53Speaker 1: the fourth? Because I don't think they kept Rosmer, right?
- 19:55Speaker 2: That's a good question. Vikings.
- 19:59Speaker 1: Was it like Nick Mullins or something still hanging around
- 20:02Speaker 1: for that?
- 20:03Speaker 2: I mean, it very much could be. Yeah.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Well, you look at that.
- 20:09Speaker 2: It is Brodberg.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Okay. So I thought they didn't keep him, but maybe
- 20:12Speaker 1: they did.
- 20:13Speaker 3: They may have not, but this was on their 53 man.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And like the original 53 man, he was on the roster.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Gotcha. He has since been released, I believe.
- 20:23Speaker 3: That would make sense. But that's the caveat I was
- 20:26Speaker 3: trying to make very clear. Because it's really hard to
- 20:30Speaker 3: control this data. So I just figured from a consistency standpoint,
- 20:33Speaker 3: just on the original. Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:36Speaker 3: But yes, he was cut 100%.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Right. And now I think you can separate. So that
- 20:42Speaker 1: narrows it down to just the Falcons, the Steelers, the Eagles,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and that's it, right?
- 20:48Speaker 2: That's it.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Now the Falcons, I think, can rationalize where they have
- 20:54Speaker 1: an injury here. They have Penix coming off an injury
- 20:56Speaker 1: and Tua looked terrible in the preseason and is coming off.
- 20:59Speaker 1: And he has always injured, right? And they're kind of
- 21:02Speaker 1: a team that's, in transition, new coaching staff, it makes sense.
- 21:06Speaker 1: With the Steelers and the Eagles, it just feels like
- 21:08Speaker 1: stubbornly holding on to quarterbacks because they're waiting for somebody
- 21:12Speaker 1: to make them an offer for an aging backup, right?
- 21:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 21:16Speaker 1: The number two for the Steelers, it's still the guy
- 21:18Speaker 1: from Oklahoma State who's been with them forever. I can't
- 21:21Speaker 1: think of his name.
- 21:22Speaker 2: For the Falcons to talk about?
- 21:24Speaker 1: No, the Steelers backup. Mason, not Mason. What's his name?
- 21:28Speaker 2: Yeah, you're talking about Mason Rudolph.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Mason Rudolph. Is that their number two?
- 21:32Speaker 2: That might make sense. I'm not even sure. I was
- 21:34Speaker 2: looking at the Falcons. Let me look at the Steelers.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I got you jumping around. Sorry.
- 21:38Speaker 2: No, you're good.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I mean, we know that they kept Aller. We know
- 21:41Speaker 1: they kept the Ohio State kid from two years ago.
- 21:43Speaker 2: It is Mason Rudolph.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
- 21:45Speaker 3: I mean, they don't get rid of Mason Rudolph.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Right. Because they don't– they like– And listen, I think
- 21:51Speaker 1: this makes sense. You've got Mike McCarthy there. He is,
- 21:54Speaker 1: despite the fact that some people hate him, he's pretty
- 21:56Speaker 1: good with quarterbacks.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You've got Will Howard and Drew Aller there, but you won't,
- 22:01Speaker 1: you wouldn't trust them to be your number two. So
- 22:03Speaker 1: you keep Mason Rudolph. I don't need, it's different. I
- 22:07Speaker 1: think the Eagles would absolutely take something for Sam Darnold
- 22:10Speaker 1: because they've got Tanner McKee. I'm not sure the Steelers
- 22:12Speaker 1: would be really willing to get rid of Mason Rudolph
- 22:15Speaker 1: and make Will Howard or Aller their backup.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I, and I agree.
- 22:19Speaker 3: And like, I was a little bit surprised that the
- 22:22Speaker 3: Eagles didn't try to claim Joe Milton.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Good point. I don't know.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I feel like if you're going to keep four quarterbacks,
- 22:31Speaker 3: cut somebody and pick up Milton.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:35Speaker 2: I thought that was interesting.
- 22:36Speaker 3: But, I mean, it was an interesting decision for the
- 22:40Speaker 3: Cowboys to cut Milton because I thought he had a
- 22:43Speaker 3: pretty good preseason.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed.
- 22:46Speaker 3: He's a pretty polarizing quarterback, so I understand him. partially
- 22:49Speaker 3: why the eagles didn't do it but i think if
- 22:52Speaker 3: you're gonna try to like i'd rather have him on
- 22:54Speaker 3: the roster than andy.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Dalton he certainly feels like someone the eagles would jump.
- 22:59Speaker 2: At as a development guy exact.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Long arm i mean strong strong arm.
- 23:04Speaker 3: But all right the falcons are interesting i mean they
- 23:06Speaker 3: have cooper rush speaking of the cowboys and then.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Jack strand yeah yeah um You know, even though they
- 23:14Speaker 1: have Penix and Tua, it wouldn't surprise me at all
- 23:16Speaker 1: if they had to rely on Cooper Rush given the
- 23:18Speaker 1: injury histories of the first two guys.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Of both, yeah.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Yeah. So to me, that makes more sense. They're doing
- 23:24Speaker 1: this for survival as opposed to the Eagles and the
- 23:27Speaker 1: Steelers who are just doing this for different reasons.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I think the interesting thing at the Eagles keeping six
- 23:35Speaker 1: is that it's not really that far from the NFL average,
- 23:37Speaker 1: and yet we're sort of surprised that the Eagles are
- 23:40Speaker 1: doing it, you know?
- 23:41Speaker 2: Absolutely. I mean, there are two teams, three teams that
- 23:45Speaker 2: have seven. More than actually a decent amount.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Really?
- 23:50Speaker 1: More than three teams have seven wide receivers?
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yeah. You want to hear them? It's the Cardinals. Uh-huh.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It is the Rams. It is the Dolphins.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Hold on. I would have thought the Rams were on
- 24:05Speaker 1: the other end of that. Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:09Speaker 1: No, you're good.
- 24:10Speaker 2: I just, I wanted to get it out. But yeah,
- 24:12Speaker 2: I guess.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Seven wide receivers?
- 24:14Speaker 2: Well, there was possibility that Puka gets suspended. I mean,
- 24:18Speaker 2: there are legitimate reasons, I think, for them to have. Right.
- 24:23Speaker 1: I think I can name four of them. Puka, Devante,
- 24:26Speaker 1: they traded with the Dolphins to get Tutu Atwell back.
- 24:29Speaker 1: You just mentioned, oh, I'm sorry. They have Jordan Whittington.
- 24:32Speaker 1: That's four. Those other three guys, like, do they ever
- 24:35Speaker 1: see the light of day?
- 24:37Speaker 2: Well, they got that kid out of Pitt, Conata Mumpfield.
- 24:41Speaker 2: They got Xavier Smith and then C.J. Daniels, which I
- 24:44Speaker 2: think he was the Miami kid.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 2: So, yeah, I mean, with Tutu as well. Yeah, I
- 24:51Speaker 2: guess that seven makes it. I can't expect them to
- 24:54Speaker 2: stay at seven.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Did they keep five tight ends? They did. Oh, my.
- 24:58Speaker 1: So they kept a combination of 12 pass catchers.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yes. Yes.
- 25:03Speaker 3: Wow.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Okay. Hey, listen. They got a really stacked roster. They
- 25:08Speaker 1: can do whatever the hell they want. Exactly.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just curious about their constructions. It's a little
- 25:15Speaker 2: bit interesting. They also have 27 on offense and 23
- 25:18Speaker 2: on defense.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Interesting. And the Commanders kept seven wide receivers, too. That
- 25:22Speaker 1: makes sense because they're aging. You know, they've got McLaurin.
- 25:25Speaker 1: They brought back– who's there? They brought in Steph Diggs.
- 25:29Speaker 1: So those are two guys who are a little bit
- 25:31Speaker 1: long in the tooth. They drafted Antonio Williams. They're still
- 25:34Speaker 1: trying to get something, I guess, out of Luke McCaffrey.
- 25:36Speaker 1: Cause he's a draft pick. So that's four right there.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Jalen Noel or no Jalen Smith.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Jalen Lane.
- 25:43Speaker 1: God, there's too many.
- 25:45Speaker 2: And they still have Traylon Burks.
- 25:47Speaker 1: Right. Traylon Burks came on at the end for them six.
- 25:49Speaker 1: So I, yeah, with their injury concerns and just trying
- 25:52Speaker 1: to develop for the future, I can, I think that
- 25:54Speaker 1: makes sense. Yeah. All right. And again, I, you know,
- 25:58Speaker 1: we'll see what the Eagles, does it stay at six?
- 26:01Speaker 1: What's Elijah Moore's role going to be? Does he have,
- 26:03Speaker 1: he might be, this year's version of what the Eagles
- 26:06Speaker 1: used to do at running back, which is keep a
- 26:08Speaker 1: fourth guy to sit there and collect dust, whether it
- 26:10Speaker 1: was Rashad Penny or AJ Dillon, you know, because I
- 26:14Speaker 1: don't know if he's going to be a punt returner.
- 26:16Speaker 1: So we'll see.
- 26:17Speaker 2: But didn't all the reports say that he had a
- 26:20Speaker 2: better camp than Hollywood Brown?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I think that that's fair. He probably did. Yeah.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But now, now everything's perspective, right? Like, Hollywood Brown probably
- 26:30Speaker 1: had to make a cut because of the injuries to
- 26:32Speaker 1: Lemon and Devante Smith. Hollywood Brown was probably covered by
- 26:36Speaker 1: Quinion Mitchell on almost all of his.
- 26:38Speaker 2: That's fair. That's a fair point.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Yeah. And there was a time where Elijah was, when
- 26:43Speaker 1: they came back, he was back to running with the
- 26:45Speaker 1: second team. He wasn't running with the first team right away. So,
- 26:48Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I'm not trying to devalue his camp.
- 26:50Speaker 1: It was good. It was consistent. It got us a
- 26:52Speaker 1: high second round pick, but I don't necessarily want to
- 26:55Speaker 1: put him above a guy like Hollywood Brown who's had
- 26:58Speaker 1: like a thousand yard season in the NFL. Yeah, for sure.
- 27:01Speaker 2: For sure.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It still sticks in my mind that Elijah Moore could
- 27:05Speaker 1: not contribute to the bills last year when he was
- 27:08Speaker 1: on their practice squad. They didn't use him despite the
- 27:10Speaker 1: fact that they had like no wide receivers. They're, they're pulling,
- 27:13Speaker 1: they're knocking the dust off of Brandon Cook cooks and
- 27:17Speaker 1: throwing them out there.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Right.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah. That is a very fair, very, very fair point
- 27:22Speaker 2: for sure.
- 27:24Speaker 1: What else sticks out here?
- 27:27Speaker 2: Again, I think the receiver is interesting. I think back
- 27:32Speaker 2: to the receiver, there's a team that has four.
- 27:35Speaker 1: That's funny. I would have thought that would be the Rams,
- 27:38Speaker 1: but four wide receivers. Would that be the 49ers?
- 27:42Speaker 2: It would not be the 49ers. 49ers have six.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Okay. Would it be the Seahawks?
- 27:49Speaker 2: You're in the right conference, but no, not the Seahawks.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Well, then you already told me the Cardinals had like
- 27:54Speaker 1: a billion of them. So I guess it has to
- 27:56Speaker 1: be the... It's a team.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I wouldn't expect, if I'm going to be honest with you.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Oh, I'm in the right what you said?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Conference.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Oh, man. Would it be the Packers?
- 28:12Speaker 2: You're in the right division now.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Might as well just tell me because now it's down
- 28:16Speaker 1: to three teams.
- 28:17Speaker 2: It is the Detroit Lions. Okay.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I can name them all four. They probably kept, obviously,
- 28:23Speaker 1: Jamison Williams and Amman Ross St. Brown and Isaac Tesla.
- 28:28Speaker 1: And what, Kalief Raymond, maybe, I think, is their fourth?
- 28:30Speaker 1: Or did they go with somebody else?
- 28:34Speaker 2: I'm pulling it up as we speak. It is Jamison.
- 28:42Speaker 2: It's Tay Martin.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Never. Oh, he's their rookie sixth. No, no. He was
- 28:48Speaker 1: just a guy they signed. Okay, I think from San Francisco.
- 28:51Speaker 1: but wow. More wide receivers for a team that doesn't,
- 28:55Speaker 1: doesn't stay healthy very often. That's a little bit of
- 28:57Speaker 1: a dice roll.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Well, I mean, they went really heavy defense.
- 28:59Speaker 3: So they're one of the teams that had 27 on
- 29:01Speaker 3: defense and 23 on offense.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I kind of did the inverse of what
- 29:06Speaker 1: a hundred percent.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Super interesting.
- 29:08Speaker 1: All right. So I like this where we're at. Let's
- 29:13Speaker 1: let's take what the Eagles kept and then like compare
- 29:16Speaker 1: that to a, one of the more radical, uh, teams
- 29:20Speaker 1: that did something differently there. Like the Eagles kept nine
- 29:23Speaker 1: defensive backs. The NFL minimum was eight. That's really not
- 29:27Speaker 1: that far off.
- 29:28Speaker 2: No, it's not that big of a difference.
- 29:30Speaker 1: However, a team kept 13 defensive backs? Yes. Oh, that's
- 29:35Speaker 1: a team that plays a lot of sub packages.
- 29:37Speaker 3: There's only one team that did that. And we've talked
- 29:40Speaker 3: about them pretty ad nauseum at this point. I mean,
- 29:44Speaker 3: we've talked about a lot of teams at that, but
- 29:46Speaker 3: it's the Atlanta Falcons.
- 29:47Speaker 1: The Falcons. Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. Falcons are, I mean,
- 29:53Speaker 1: teams that are just trying to see what they got,
- 29:55Speaker 1: like the Falcons, Dolphins, maybe even the Jets are going
- 29:58Speaker 1: to have high numbers there.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, it's interesting.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Like, the Falcons are one of the teams that went
- 30:03Speaker 3: 27 on defense, 23 on offense.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Right.
- 30:06Speaker 3: It's actually really interesting, some of the splits. I mean,
- 30:10Speaker 3: most teams are closer to that 25-25 or, you.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Know, 26-24. But the Eagles are on one of the
- 30:17Speaker 2: ends of it.
- 30:18Speaker 3: I mean, they're on one of the polarizing ends just
- 30:21Speaker 3: on the offensive side. There are a lot of teams.
- 30:23Speaker 3: It looks like more teams went on the defensive side.
- 30:27Speaker 3: I'm just by eyeballing it, but I mean, teams that
- 30:30Speaker 3: built the same way that the Eagles did in terms
- 30:32Speaker 3: of like offense defense or the Panthers, the Rams, the Dolphins.
- 30:42Speaker 2: And the Commanders.

- 32:29Speaker 1: As I've gotten older, I've really tried to concentrate on
- 32:32Speaker 1: my physical health, my body, making sure I'm putting the
- 32:35Speaker 1: right things in and the healthiest things in. I've always
- 32:38Speaker 1: heard about creatine, but I wasn't really sure about using
- 32:41Speaker 1: creatine supplements until I did the research to find out

- 34:52Speaker 1: prices and an experience made for philly fans 21 and
- 34:55Speaker 1: up i don't know what to make of that i.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Don't know what to make of that either that's.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Interesting So the Eagles are about one and a half
- 35:04Speaker 1: over the average on offensive players, which we explained why,
- 35:08Speaker 1: and almost two under the average of defensive players. You know,
- 35:12Speaker 1: that's new for them. That's obviously keeping the minimum amount
- 35:15Speaker 1: of defensive player. How many teams kept 23 besides the
- 35:18Speaker 1: Eagles on defense?
- 35:20Speaker 2: I think it was four teams total.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 35:25Speaker 1: But when you have the kind of talent and one
- 35:28Speaker 1: to three, one to four depth that the Eagles have it,
- 35:31Speaker 1: The main spots, you can understand why they would do that.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm just looking at the inverse.
- 35:36Speaker 3: So there were five teams total that did it the
- 35:38Speaker 3: way the Eagles did, including the Eagles, but four other.
- 35:41Speaker 2: The inverse is one, two. Looks like two.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yep, two.
- 35:51Speaker 3: So it was just the Lions and the Falcons that
- 35:54Speaker 3: were built the opposite way.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Sure.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Very interesting. Interesting. So what was, what's your, do you
- 36:01Speaker 1: have an overall kind of takeaway from this? Like, do you,
- 36:05Speaker 1: do you suspect that there's just sort of a change
- 36:07Speaker 1: right now as the Eagles shift to having more offensive
- 36:10Speaker 1: concerns and defensive concerns?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:12Speaker 3: I mean, it's, it's also interesting because they're going to
- 36:15Speaker 3: start having to pay defense more.
- 36:17Speaker 2: So, I mean, I think it would be naive to
- 36:20Speaker 2: say that isn't part of it.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Right.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Right.
- 36:23Speaker 3: But I don't think maybe it's not as overblown as
- 36:26Speaker 3: I could make it sound, but I do think that
- 36:28Speaker 3: is part of it. But I think it's interesting, especially
- 36:31Speaker 3: knowing how both the Rams and the Eagles are built
- 36:35Speaker 3: very similarly. And they both are typically teams that are,
- 36:39Speaker 3: you know, on the verge of these new trends and everything.
- 36:43Speaker 3: I think it's interesting that their follow somewhat in lockstep
- 36:47Speaker 3: for a lot of these roster decisions and composition. So
- 36:53Speaker 3: I think that's super interesting. And I think that this
- 36:56Speaker 3: will change eventually. I really don't think this roster will
- 37:00Speaker 3: be composed the way that it is now. By the
- 37:03Speaker 3: time playoffs start, I think it'll be a complete, not completely.
- 37:06Speaker 2: It'll, it'll have variability than what we see here.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Yeah. I tell you what, I I'm really excited for, from,
- 37:14Speaker 1: especially from an analytics when we get into it and then.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Strategical standpoint for weeks, three, four, and to some extent, five,
- 37:23Speaker 1: I'm a little bit curious about the Jaguars trying to
- 37:25Speaker 1: repeat being a 13 win team, but. I really like
- 37:28Speaker 1: both their head coach, Liam Cohen, and their defensive coordinator,
- 37:32Speaker 1: Anthony Campanile, who did an excellent job with that Jags
- 37:35Speaker 1: defense last year. But, you know, you got Bears, Rams, Jags,
- 37:40Speaker 1: back to back to back. You're talking about a lot
- 37:43Speaker 1: of different usage of offensive personnel from between 12 and
- 37:47Speaker 1: 13 personnel that we'll get into during the season. And
- 37:50Speaker 1: then defensively, the Rams in particular, Have a lot of
- 37:54Speaker 1: movable parts also, like the Eagles on the back end.
- 37:57Speaker 1: The Bears are a little bit of a mess defensively,
- 37:59Speaker 1: but they're going to try to score 5,000 points a game.
- 38:02Speaker 1: And the Jags, you know, if Travis Hunter's healthy, really
- 38:05Speaker 1: curious to see what kind of impact that he has
- 38:08Speaker 1: on their secondary and who moves around as he does.
- 38:12Speaker 1: So that'll be all good stuff that relates back to
- 38:15Speaker 1: how you constructed your roster, knowing what guys can play
- 38:18Speaker 1: multiple positions and give you a two-for-one deal. And it's
- 38:21Speaker 1: also going to be a great litmus test for who
- 38:23Speaker 1: the Eagles are because those are three teams, you know,
- 38:26Speaker 1: who were all in the playoffs last year. All you
- 38:30Speaker 1: expect– I mean, everybody says– everybody feels like the Rams
- 38:33Speaker 1: are going to be even better. They have like this
- 38:34Speaker 1: Hall of Fame roster, right? The Bears have some issues
- 38:38Speaker 1: on defense, but they've got a lot of offensive weapons,
- 38:41Speaker 1: which can help your defense. And then the Jags, who
- 38:44Speaker 1: are kind of a– they were sneaky good last year,
- 38:46Speaker 1: somehow won 13 games. So it's going to be– Nice
- 38:49Speaker 1: little three-week stretch there for them.
- 38:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and we'll definitely have a lot to talk about
- 38:53Speaker 3: in that time, especially once we actually get real NFL
- 38:57Speaker 3: snaps and data.
- 38:59Speaker 1: Yes.
- 38:59Speaker 2: I'm itching for it.
- 39:00Speaker 1: I know you're waiting for– I know you are waiting
- 39:03Speaker 1: to take a deep dive into things like EPA and
- 39:06Speaker 1: success– and so am I. Yes. It's not available for
- 39:09Speaker 1: the preseason. It shouldn't be because nobody cares about the
- 39:13Speaker 1: EPA of a fourth-quarter run when a coach is just
- 39:16Speaker 1: calling a play to see– Like if a left guard
- 39:19Speaker 1: can pull or not. Right. And how well as opposed
- 39:22Speaker 1: to trying to do that for the sake of winning
- 39:25Speaker 1: the game. right so it's it's thankfully that there's none
- 39:28Speaker 1: of that stuff but i can't wait till we get
- 39:30Speaker 1: into that uh and it's gonna start pretty soon but
- 39:33Speaker 1: next week we'll do a little we'll do a little
- 39:35Speaker 1: preview stuff uh from an analytics standpoint as we get
- 39:37Speaker 1: the uh the wheels rolling sounds good to me All right, everybody,
- 39:41Speaker 1: that was good stuff. Thank you, Sam, for the charts
- 39:43Speaker 1: and for the interesting data. You have been watching Inside
- 39:47Speaker 1: the Data on Inside the Birds. That's Sam Finkel. I'm
