- 1:13Speaker 1: b oo h e R. Boer remodeling dot com, kitchens, bathrooms, basements.
- 1:19Speaker 1: What are you trying to get done? Boer is the
- 1:22Speaker 1: call Bower remodeling dot com the popcorn moment. Let's go,
- 1:25Speaker 1: let's go, let's go, let's go. It's a story you
- 1:29Speaker 1: need to hear to believe. Then grab your popcorn, because
- 1:32Speaker 1: there is more. I'm letting everybody know that this conversation
- 1:39Speaker 1: about Stephanie White is happening in real time, and this
- 1:45Speaker 1: conversation about Stephanie White the head coach of the Indiana Fever. Listen.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I heard the audio like you did from Caitlin Clark.
- 1:55Speaker 1: She doesn't like seeing her coach get booed. She stands
- 1:59Speaker 1: with her coach, good on her. I appreciate that. That's
- 2:06Speaker 1: nice to see. However, we have to hear what it
- 2:11Speaker 1: is she said is she addresses all of this firestorm
- 2:15Speaker 1: to which she is partly responsible. And to hear her reaction, well,
- 2:24Speaker 1: her reaction, if I'm going to discuss it, is a
- 2:29Speaker 1: very very off base. Her reaction is outrageously emotional when
- 2:36Speaker 1: it doesn't need to be, and it's possible that this
- 2:40Speaker 1: is going to be taken differently as men hearing things
- 2:44Speaker 1: differently than women. Maybe not. This is coach Stephanie White,
- 2:52Speaker 1: Indiana Fever. Listen.
- 2:57Speaker 2: This isn't necessarily for no people that are in this room.
- 3:02Speaker 2: This is more for an online community that's trying to
- 3:06Speaker 2: create narratives that simply don't exist, trying to create a
- 3:11Speaker 2: fabrication or disortion of who I am, of what I'm
- 3:14Speaker 2: about our players success, our players health and wellness, our
- 3:19Speaker 2: player safety is always a top priority for me. One
- 3:21Speaker 2: of the things I pride myself on is my relationships
- 3:23Speaker 2: with players. For those who have anything to say about
- 3:28Speaker 2: the play in the last game, I didn't see the
- 3:29Speaker 2: play in real time. I went straight to a press conference.
- 3:32Speaker 2: I thought the play got called right, thankfully, Sophie's Okay.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Was it egregious? Absolutely? When you have a chance to
- 3:39Speaker 2: watch that over and over and over on replay, you
- 3:42Speaker 2: can see that I didn't have that in real time.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I take personally any suggestions that I don't one hundred
- 3:53Speaker 2: percent always have my players back. I ride with them
- 3:56Speaker 2: ten toes down all the time, all the time. They
- 3:59Speaker 2: know that it's a shame that we can't have an
- 4:03Speaker 2: opportunity to talk about what great basketball they're playing, because
- 4:07Speaker 2: they are playing. The reality is with me, I will
- 4:15Speaker 2: always lead with love, I will always lead with grace,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I will always lead with humility, and I will always
- 4:24Speaker 2: lead with integrity. Doesn't mean I'll always get it right.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I'm also human. The hate, the fear mongering, the divisiveness,
- 4:34Speaker 2: the stuff that's trying to hijack our league will not win.
- 4:40Speaker 2: It won't win. We are united, we are connected, We
- 4:47Speaker 2: will not be divided. Every day. These women put their
- 4:52Speaker 2: ass on the line every day when they go low,
- 4:58Speaker 2: we go high. Love won't grace will win, Humility will win,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and kindness will win. I stand by them. I will
- 5:08Speaker 2: always stand by them. Everybody else can go to hill.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And that is not how you do it. Coach White,
- 5:20Speaker 1: you can argue with me that this is a sign
- 5:22Speaker 1: of real passion. I will very gladly disagree with you.
- 5:32Speaker 1: The online community is a conversation about whether or not
- 5:38Speaker 1: the league accepts the idea that Sophie Cunningham said. Nothing remarkable.
- 5:45Speaker 1: She just said something. Honest. Men are not women in girls.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Sports are for girls. That's it. It is not divisive
- 5:55Speaker 1: to notice that she said it, although I don't think
- 5:57Speaker 1: she should be utilized as a political prop. It's not
- 6:03Speaker 1: the online community noticing that the WNBA has a serious
- 6:10Speaker 1: bigotry issue regarding white players who don't fit the accepted
- 6:16Speaker 1: political mold. Peyte Buckers doesn't have this problem, Caitlin Clark does.
- 6:23Speaker 1: That's the bigotry of the WNBA. How dare you suggest
- 6:26Speaker 1: we don't notice? And if you want to debate that
- 6:28Speaker 1: with me, coach, I'm down. I can prove it. If
- 6:35Speaker 1: you didn't see the foul against Sophie Cunningham in real time,
- 6:40Speaker 1: if you didn't see the replays, why comment on it?
- 6:43Speaker 1: That look was just a hard play. Why comment on
- 6:48Speaker 1: it at all? I haven't seen it yet. I need
- 6:49Speaker 1: to go back and view it. You didn't do that.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You didn't say that, you didn't say hey my bad,
- 6:56Speaker 1: You blamed everybody else, You gave an excuse. Coaches, I believe,
- 7:03Speaker 1: don't do that. It's that moment where your voice rises,
- 7:07Speaker 1: where you discuss leading with love, grace, humility, and integrity,
- 7:11Speaker 1: and that hate, fear mongering, divisiveness will not win and
- 7:14Speaker 1: it will not hijack the league. With all due respect, coach,
- 7:18Speaker 1: our issue is that the league has already been hijacked.
- 7:22Speaker 1: You can't even explain what a woman is. There's no
- 7:25Speaker 1: knowing whether or not the WNBA actually stands for women.
- 7:30Speaker 1: When you talk about the hijacking, that call is coming
- 7:33Speaker 1: from inside the league. Love will win, grace and kindness
- 7:40Speaker 1: will win, and the rest of us can go to hell.
- 7:45Speaker 1: This was a terrible, terrible outing from Coach White. It
- 7:51Speaker 1: poorly represents the team, It poorly represents the league. It
- 7:56Speaker 1: poorly represents Indiana. But it might very well be representative
- 8:03Speaker 1: of the emotion that the league is solely about and
- 8:07Speaker 1: nothing else. If you thought the dark days of the WNBA,
- 8:14Speaker 1: we're already here. Oh no, no, no, it just got
- 8:19Speaker 1: uglier for them. This was a big miss and I
- 8:25Speaker 1: will break it down further on Tony Katz today at noon,
- 8:27Speaker 1: Right now, Matt Bear has traffic.
