Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: The following podcast contains descriptions of violence and horror.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:14SPEAKER_01: Log number two Antoine de Rose recording.
- 0:20SPEAKER_01: In this entry, I'd like to begin a conversation about exactly what gores are.
- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Obviously we know what they are.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: We live with this horror every day.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: But I think that presenting the situation through my perception will help me articulate cases as we move forward.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Gores are, plainly put, killers.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: They're in human form, but still somehow unknowable and nearly undefinable.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: Some call them slashers or slayers.
- 1:04SPEAKER_01: They have been the central figures in a series of mass murders beginning in the nineteen seventies, the earliest being the slaughterfest barbecue incident previously detailed in my last entry.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: These incidents differed from all other cases of homicide and mass killings.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: The perpetrators are akin to serial killers, but their motivations and tactics do not fit the typical profile, and they utilize a frankly absurd level of extreme violence that at times borderlines the supernatural.
- 1:43SPEAKER_01: There's also a difference in scope.
- 1:46SPEAKER_01: A gore mass killing usually takes place all in one night, and it's usually at night, or perhaps over the course of several days, never more than five as far as has been recorded.
- 1:58SPEAKER_01: They most of them seem human, are human, or they were, but they suffer from a madness I cannot truly comprehend, and with it a compulsive need to hunt and to kill.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: This compulsion overrides their every function eating, sleeping, waste disposal.
- 2:21SPEAKER_01: These are all secondary to their need to eliminate a target.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: However, some are decidedly less human like.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: They are bigger, stronger, but also impossibly fast, often able to absorb ludicrous amounts of damage before dying.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: And then some don't stay dead.
- 2:43SPEAKER_01: The victims depend on the individual gore, but it does seem that young people are preferred targets, particularly ones engaged in vices.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: Minorities and individuals with a lower income background seem to be similarly at risk.
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: I wish I could say why that is.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Based on my own criteria for what constitutes a gore mass killing, there have been over four hundred incidents in the United States since the initial slaughter.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Most terrifyingly, some of the gores exhibit impossible longevity.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Incidents that span decades are not uncommon, and there are multiple records of victims who are hunted until old age.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: Anyone who survives an attack has to live with the idea that killers may come to finish them off at any time, no matter how long ago the initial incident occurred.
- 3:38SPEAKER_01: I should know.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: There are other aspects to touch on, such as these attacks being an almost exclusive American phenomena, as well as the government's responses.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: But I fear I'm already rambling in this session.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: I will instead wrap up this recording by sharing my personal classification system for gores based on gathered data over the past fifty years.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: I will go into detail of each category in their own designated session, as they all deserve their own entry.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: But should you encounter a category one, then your odds are bad, but far from zero.
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: They are, at least for now, still fundamentally human no matter how fast they are, how bizarre they act, or how difficult it seems to injure them.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: If you encounter a category two, your odds of escaping drop considerably, as these gores exhibit abilities I can only describe as paranormal.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Disabling them permanently has seemingly become nigh impossible.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: And if it's a category three, well, it grieves me to say this, but no matter how well you think you're doing or how close you are to making it to safety, I'm afraid you're already dead.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: It's just a matter of time.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: Whoever is listening to these tapes, you know as well as I do.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: We live in a nightmare, and there's no mincing words, and no one is coming to help us.
