- 0:29I'm like, you know what? I got a good episode Probably a little bit behind schedule
- 0:33certain things, but hey this and that's life Once again,
- 0:37your boy deconstructing top of pockets I wake up every day to know that I listen
- 0:41I got to bring some good information because I want and I want my,
- 0:45Fellow listeners out there whether you old new from day one all that good stuff
- 0:49is that hey listen for me It's always been a motto of minds is that saving a mind is saving a life,
- 0:57in a time where everybody has an opinion
- 1:00on something and so much going on let's let's
- 1:03stay focused on the mission and let's always stay
- 1:07on target with the game plan and we got a good one in regards to something that's
- 1:12it's gonna hit me being that i am a labor leader for over two decades now and
- 1:19you know i want to hear i want to talk about the story of says i challenged
- 1:22that yes I'm a little late behind.
- 1:24I think I've done her a little bit of everything.
- 1:27And it's just an interesting topic for those out there who might not be aware
- 1:31of Cesar Chavez, the founder of the Farmers Union a long time ago,
- 1:37or the co-founder, right?
- 1:39With Dolores Huerta and a couple of other people there. I believe that was Gilbert
- 1:44Padilla was there, if I'm not mistaken.
- 1:46If I'm not mistaken, I think that he's... I mean, there's so much labor leaders in regards to the...
- 1:51Every courtship workers union become the farmers workers for those out there
- 1:57that love the strawberries, blueberries, whatever areas.
- 2:01They came to a time whether you was doing some of that labor work in,
- 2:06I can say, Arizona, California, even in New York State here.
- 2:11Somewhere where we do the apples and the grapes and all that.
- 2:14Keep in mind is that those are wonderful people that do that labor work.
- 2:18And when it comes to the labor movement, we just say to ourselves,
- 2:22is that give those workers a fair wage and some time off, medical benefits, whatever it is.
- 2:29We'll talk about it in regards to Cesar Chavez.
- 2:32But the story of Cesar Chavez is the allegations of certain abuse in regards
- 2:37to some of the women that participated in the movement,
- 2:42especially in this case, Dolores Huerta,
- 2:43who just there was some type of investigation in the New York Times.
- 2:47So, hey, listen, let's keep it I'm going to just
- 2:52Try to give guys Or my people's point of view here And since you're enjoying
- 2:57my voice And you're going to be like,
- 2:58damn, I wonder what David Got to say, it's a little controversial topic In a
- 3:02sense, and I will tell you Why there's a little controversy In regards to What's
- 3:08happening or what happened.
- 3:10And I want to say For those people out there who have been Victim of abuse,
- 3:14once again It's never a too late thing Do reach out If it's recent Do reach
- 3:19out Seek counseling There's always going to be Someone out there Once again
- 3:23My opinion is always mine,
- 3:25And Hey listen That's why you are Following You have to follow And if you are
- 3:29following Then share You know please I appreciate hitting the like button.
- 3:34Because the like button is going to actually help me no matter what platform you're on.
- 3:38Get on your laptop, on your smartphone, on your dumb phone, on your flip phone,
- 3:43on your, what's that called? The landline.
- 3:46Even there's a hashtag button on that landline. People are going to be like,
- 3:50hashtag on the landline. Yeah, it's called the pound key.
- 3:52For those people that don't remember the landlines.
- 3:56And even to this day, there are flip phones that has a quote unquote hashtag,
- 4:00but it's actually the pound key.
- 4:01So let's get it. Let's make it happen. And always you can catch me and other
- 4:07independent creators in T-Juice TV So we're making it happen So here I am with
- 4:13the sets that's having me as a labor leader And pro-labor,
- 4:17pro-worker,
- 4:19union type of dude To hear this story Because I don't want people to be like
- 4:23Oh, is this what happens in the labor movement In these union shops and so on
- 4:28and so forth Look, abuse happens everywhere.
- 4:31And I want to say, in regards to Dolores Huerta, who is the person that basically
- 4:36came out and said, hey, listen, Cesar Chavez over here, you know, he was a hero to many.
- 4:42And for some people out there that, again, let me just put this in a little summary.
- 4:47Cesar Chavez was a big activist, labor, you know, political.
- 4:52He was a big activist. He made that push for the farmers, workers in the 50s,
- 4:5760s, you know, and so on to have some good wages.
- 5:00Again, people don't understand how important for those people out there that
- 5:05in the agriculture or even blue collar worker who do trades, hands on construction.
- 5:13Flores, whatever it is that you out there in the field and in certain conditions.
- 5:18The sad thing is that there's a lot of people in this country,
- 5:22United States of America, who are not given fair wages.
- 5:26And once again, you sacrifice your body You sacrifice your soul You sacrifice
- 5:32your time to make sure In the case of Seth's service That you get some good
- 5:37strawberries in your plate For those people out there who enjoy the strawberry Again,
- 5:41we're talking about even back then The fact that these individuals just asking
- 5:45for a fair wage And so on and so forth So.
- 5:51You know, Cesar Chavez, Dolores Huertas, and some of those folks out there.
- 5:55Farmers, they decided, hey, we want fair wages.
- 5:59And Cesar Chavez, and I'll give you an example, me coming to the United States,
- 6:03he was one of the first figures that I've heard from stories,
- 6:09especially if you are in the labor movement, and you already know.
- 6:11So me being born in the labor movement or at least some type of movement and
- 6:17growing up in the labor movement with other unions, then you already know it's my thing.
- 6:23So a lot of this language in regards to what it is that Cesar Chavez and the
- 6:28farmer's worker did, like, listen, that's a language that I can relate. That's lingo to me.
- 6:35And I'm here and I'm one to say, hey, listen, I'm one to say I'm more pro-worker
- 6:40than pro-union. And in the sense that I'm one to say that if you have a company
- 6:45who can afford, let's say, employees, depending on what you do.
- 6:49But if you do have a certain amount of employees, it would be common sense that
- 6:53happy employees will give you a better product and better production.
- 6:56I think that would be the common sense. And numbers and stats have shown that that's the case.
- 7:01But if you're underpaid people and overwork people just because you want to
- 7:07get more money in your pocket, then hey, listen, that's sadly,
- 7:11that's how that works in many cases.
- 7:13But when it comes to these individuals, we got people who are fighting for the
- 7:16rights of you to make sure that you have medical benefits, good wages.
- 7:21Pension and other things.
- 7:23So then the story happened. Cesar Chavez was born in 1928, 27, and he passed away.
- 7:30He passed away relatively young, mid-60s, in the early 90s, I believe 1992, 1993.
- 7:37I'm sorry. I'm just on top of my head because when he died, it was like a big thing.
- 7:42And you got monuments all over the place. As a matter of fact,
- 7:45there's curriculums about him.
- 7:49So just to give an idea, he is a labor leader And well-known labor leader, right?
- 7:54You got the Jimmy Hoffers Was a labor leader, in a sense, president of the Teamsters
- 7:58But, you know, talking about Jimmy Hoffer and Sasha Chavez It's like,
- 8:02two different things But I can see that non-corruption,
- 8:07Sadly, takes a different face.
- 8:10Dolores Huerta, when she came out talking about the abuse and she was assaulted
- 8:15by Secha Chavez, and I want to say that I side with those victims,
- 8:20doesn't matter whether it's 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago. Keep in mind is this.
- 8:25People have often, and I've seen people, and look, literally,
- 8:28people are going to wonder why.
- 8:31Why all these years she came out and said this? And I say, I mean,
- 8:34why not? I mean, it's better now than to say never, right?
- 8:39You've got to also understand that time flies. And you might say 30 years,
- 8:44but 30 years, especially if you're a victim or of certain circumstances,
- 8:4830 years will feel a little bit like a blink of an eye.
- 8:54And for this individual, my understanding is that the New York Times had an article.
- 8:58And then the reporter had a five-year investigation into regards to not just
- 9:05Dolores Huerta, but there was others in which he have assaulted and might have
- 9:10done other crazy things,
- 9:12especially with those who were underage.
- 9:15So, again, it's just baffling to say the least, and it does take away what's
- 9:22going on behind that picture,
- 9:25especially someone who's a prominent labor figure and someone who works for
- 9:30the better of the life of others.
- 9:33But I'm always one to say, and this applies to the political philosophy in this
- 9:38country, and this country, you know, for the most part, it's running.
- 9:42I'm going to say for the most part, I mean, 99.9% of people out there in Congress,
- 9:48they're affiliated with the Republican and Democrat Party. There's always kind
- 9:52of that thing, you know, back and forth.
- 9:55But it's always the same talking point. And I want to say, oh,
- 9:58you know, we're fighting for our democracy.
- 9:59But at the same time, what we're fighting for here, quote unquote,
- 10:03the democracy and rights, I mean, whatever it is, this same country,
- 10:08this same country, the powers that be is taken away from another country.
- 10:11Someone is getting killed.
- 10:13And it goes back to what I say in regards to these movements.
- 10:16And in regards to anything that's good Even in,
- 10:20you know, again If you look at the Roman Catholic priest situation Here in the
- 10:25United States, the same I want people to sometimes say to yourself,
- 10:30When there's something good Or we cherish it, we should just say yes Absolutely,
- 10:36But I'm always in the mind that someone else Is going to pay the price And sadly
- 10:40these victims And these young ladies at that time Were paying the price Because,
- 10:44remember, you're a prominent labor figure, but you also have power.
- 10:49And with power, that means that sadly everybody's going to say yes, yes, yes to you.
- 10:56And if they don't say yes, then you're going to impose that kind of thing where, hey, you're a man.
- 11:02You're going to impose that to women, especially those who are vulnerable.
- 11:09And there's those who question, like, okay, Dolores, here's the other issue in regards to this.
- 11:15If you definitely was abused, again, these are allegations. They have not been
- 11:19proven in criminal court or anything to that effect.
- 11:23Indeed, if these are allegations, then the understanding is that you was a victim,
- 11:29and your silence allowed that other people became victims as well.
- 11:33And that has happened. And I think that her point is that she did not want to
- 11:40destroy the movement because, sadly, there's a lot of labor movement that get
- 11:43co-opted and get destroyed.
- 11:45And I agree in terms of that, like, you know, that part there in regards to
- 11:55not wanting to destroy the movement.
- 11:57But again, the movement would have kept on, even if she went out and talked about it.
- 12:03The movement would have kind of came out.
- 12:06I mean, you know, it would still be a thing because you had other leaders.
- 12:10So it's how it just happened to be the figure or the most vocal,
- 12:14but you had other leaders.
- 12:16So if others, victims, have they, you know, got sacrificed by this movement, it kind of question.
- 12:22Was that really the story behind that in regards to not wanting to destroy the movement?
- 12:27And again, I know that there's a lot of victims out there that become victims
- 12:32of these assaults, physical assaults. And sadly, they do.
- 12:37It boggles their mind. It kind of changed their perception. They don't think
- 12:40right. And it could take a long time for one to change.
- 12:44But I'm one, again, I'm one with the letters when it comes to this situation.
- 12:48Now, I like to say, look, listen, in life, for the most part,
- 12:52there's always two sides of the story, right?
- 12:56Here's a little interesting caveat here that I did notice that 10 years ago,
- 13:02there was a conservative think tank group, whatever, Prager University, right?
- 13:08Who were used in Cesar Chavez, because now here's the kind of sprinkling the
- 13:14icing, kind of like, oh, wait, you know, grab your popcorn. Shit is getting interesting.
- 13:20It's that Cesar Chavez was anti-illegal immigrant because in this country,
- 13:27there are companies that use illegal immigrants to undermine union. I agree.
- 13:33For a fact, that's always been a thing. sadly
- 13:36again and I'm not here to put illegal immigrants down
- 13:40it's just a system here when it comes to
- 13:42this is why I sometimes it baffle my mind when you got these uh especially those
- 13:47in the conservative right republican who are fighting against illegal immigration
- 13:52and so on and so forth in reality sometimes I say they're not because some of
- 13:58these republicans that are in Texas, Alabama,
- 14:00who own factories, business,
- 14:03they use illegal immigrants to bust down unions where they're not too fond of.
- 14:07And the reason is that there's been a history of unions who,
- 14:11for the most part, have backed up the Democratic Party.
- 14:15So my thing that PragerU was using that as to say, look, even your boy Cesar
- 14:22Chavez, who actually was an American, an American migrant.
- 14:25Oh, I take it back. He was American. He was born here.
- 14:29And my understanding is that there's interviews where he had issues with Mexico,
- 14:33the Mexican government. It's like, you guys know what you're doing.
- 14:36You guys are like doing that thing. I got the illegal immigrants go, go.
- 14:40But not really doing anything to keep them in your country.
- 14:44And then again, it's been situation here in New York City when it comes to the construction.
- 14:50Then I've seen a lot of companies and I've heard and I spoke where they use illegal immigrants.
- 14:59And again, and I'm not trying to use that term as going after them,
- 15:03but they use illegal immigrants to undermine labor unions. That's in the construction field.
- 15:07They just straight up keep those as, that's always been a thing.
- 15:12But that doesn't mean that, hey, listen, the guy, whatever. So, probably you use this.
- 15:16So now my thing is this, you're trying to expose the person,
- 15:19but you're trying to use him at the same time.
- 15:22And then there has been a couple of experts saying, kind of saying,
- 15:25Well, even your boy, again, Cesar Chavez, he was against illegal immigrants
- 15:31coming through the border.
- 15:34And it begs the question, if Prager U really did an expose and start investigating
- 15:39that perhaps Dolores went down, there was allegations.
- 15:44The fact that these allegations have kind of been something that people have
- 15:47been whispering for years.
- 15:49If PragerU, this kind of right-wing conservative group If they do their thing
- 15:56and the Lord is right That goes out there and has an interview with PragerU Would we be having,
- 16:03would we And I say we, the media and everybody Would we be having this conversation?
- 16:08I'm going to go on a limb then, perhaps not Maybe down the line,
- 16:13yes But not the way it came out like with the New York Times Think about it,
- 16:17New York Times I tend to question the New York Times because the New York Times
- 16:20is that newspaper who has a history of popping wars.
- 16:25When they were not true, hey, weapons of mass destruction, I see you.
- 16:30So now you are this group or this entity that's now exposing Chavez as,
- 16:36you know, whatever he did.
- 16:38Then one question is, is that a political move? Does people,
- 16:42because they, you know, once again, PragerU or people in the right,
- 16:45even Donald Trump is going to use Chavez as like, oh, look, he even said that
- 16:51the reason why illegal immigrants is not a good thing.
- 16:54So now what you do is that you want to kind of Question and now You can't say
- 16:59nothing about Chavez Because now nobody can say anything now Right?
- 17:04Because of the Allegations.
- 17:06Again I want people to understand We're not trying to undermine The allegations
- 17:11here with Dolores Walter or any of the victims,
- 17:15At all Which is my observation That 10 years ago Prager U did an expert say.
- 17:25And they could have gone to that rabbit hole. Who knows if they did gone to
- 17:28that rabbit hole before New York Times and Dolores didn't want to talk to them.
- 17:33Now, keep in mind, it's this. She's in her 90s.
- 17:36Ten years ago, she was in her 80s.
- 17:39Sometimes I like to think that perhaps with time, there's a little difference
- 17:43there in regards to like your age.
- 17:46Because now you in that plateau that let me just talk.
- 17:49Now, someone said that sometimes in life, people are not ready to talk.
- 17:53It could take them forever. which is true but i'm
- 17:57definitely going to uh kind of uh find out
- 18:00trying to get into that investigation thing of
- 18:03whether prager you try to reach out to the lord is what this in regards to the
- 18:07allegations 10 years ago again i like to think and i like to say and sadly that's
- 18:13when you are a victim depending on who it is then you'll be silenced and and
- 18:19you know i made my obvious one with Donald Trump.
- 18:22I made the obvious one with Joe Biden, who has a history of accusations and,
- 18:29assaults. Bill Clinton as well.
- 18:31But again, who gets the limelight versus who? And that's what breaks my heart
- 18:36in regards to this situation or any situations of people in the victim.
- 18:41They want to believe in women, but if they want to believe in women, it all depends.
- 18:45If the woman that came out in regards to the allegation of Joe Biden and there
- 18:52was silence by the New York Times, they would be in question.
- 18:54It's like, so I don't get a New York Times.
- 18:56So you question these women that you end up me too.
- 18:59But then you don't question anybody else, depending on who it is.
- 19:03So think about that one, everybody, because I'm one to say we have to hear the
- 19:08stories of victim no matter who it is that did it, whether it's people in the Roman Catholic Church,
- 19:14whether it's people in the gymnastic years ago with the gymnastic females,
- 19:19whether it's here in the labor movement, whether it's in anywhere we need to hear these victims.
- 19:25Whether it's the current president, Donald J.
- 19:28Trump, assaulting a woman to Joe Biden to, you know, Bill Clinton and so on.
- 19:35Like, why is it that people are more in tune to one does and then the other
- 19:38one, he gets a pass or they get a pass.
- 19:41So again, is it really believe all women or just selectively believe in women?
- 19:47But again, we have to support each other. Once again, if you're a victim of
- 19:52any assault, please reach out,
- 19:55reach out for help and we're here we got each other you already
