- Canon Stogner: co-host, and we have a massive episode planned for you today. Andrew, we have a special guest coming along. So this is probably their biggest episode yet. We have a lot of pressure on us. Andrew Wright: Yeah, very excited, very excited for this. Canon Stogner: Very excited. We're not gonna spoil exactly who it is yet. we'll let wait for him to come on here and do it. Andrew is experiencing some technical difficulties right now. This is our Super Bowl and he has not delivered quite yet. but yeah, we're gonna roll with it. He's very behind, delayed. Andrew Wright: Apologies for that folks. Stick with us. Canon Stogner: Whatever else it may be. so yeah, the schedule is we're gonna talk with our guest for probably 15-20 minutes if it goes really well, maybe 30. and then we're going to preview this massive weekend that we have coming up, probably the best weekend of college football so far this year. and then after that, we are going to give our weekly spread picks. we had a very good week last week. So we're looking to keep that momentum going. so yeah, we're just gonna kinda sit here and wait for him to join. He should be joining any second now. we're hoping he didn't cold shoulder us. He has given me his word that he is coming on, so all I can do is trust the guy. So if he doesn't come on, we'll do what we usually do. Andrew Wright: That's right. Canon Stogner: Be quite embarrassing, but hey Keep the chains moving. Keep the chains moving. so yeah. Andrew, what are you up to? Andrew Wright: Just not a whole lot man, just getting ready for this. Really excited for this. Like you said, first big guest. Kind of the first time we've really gotten to interact with somebody that kind of covers this for a living. So pretty pumped for that. Canon Stogner: Yeah, I agree. And this the platform that we filmed the podcast on, it is a little confusing. I doubt he's ever used it. I don't even know if he's been on a podcast. so it might be taking him a little bit to get logged into stuff. If he's doing it off his phone, he's gonna have to download the app. so yeah, we're just gonna wait here. I mean, he's supposed to come at one is one o'clock right now. How long do we wait? One ten, one fifteen? Andrew Wright: Yeah, 15 minutes. That seems pretty standard. Canon Stogner: Yeah. I will have to let him in, so I will know when he is in the waiting room. Andrew Wright: Should we give him a round of applause when joins? Canon Stogner: Yeah. And we can give him a round of applause. Andrew Wright: So I stand up, shuffle for a seat back, stand up and shake it's head. Canon Stogner: This is and by the way, like I said, we're not spoiling the guest, but this guy coming on. Here he is. We have him. Hey Jordan, you got us? Jordan: Yes. Good. Thanks Canon Stogner: What's up? How are you doing? We're good. Andrew Wright: Good man, good. Jordan: for having me on. Canon Stogner: Yes, of course. so do you usually do a lot of pac podcasts or is this new to you as well? Jordan: A couple. Yeah. Not a ton, but you know. Canon Stogner: Okay. all right. So, well, before we get started, we just want to say we're extremely thankful and grateful that you have Jordan: Yeah, yeah, of course. Canon Stogner: decided to join us. as you can tell, we are Sour Colina fans, and I know that's what you cover, so Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: we're excited to have you on. Jordan: Heck yeah, let's do it. Canon Stogner: and you are our very first guest, so round of applause for you. So you'll be forever be known as our first guest. And Andrew Wright: Yeah. Jordan: shit. Okay. Damn. Wow. I love it. Canon Stogner: Our my co-host Andrew, he is experiencing some technical difficulties. So Jordan: You're good. Canon Stogner: if he's a little late or laggy, just kind of hang into it and catch maybe some words of his questions. Andrew Wright: you Jordan: All right. Canon Stogner: but yeah, so here's our guest right here is Jordan Kay. He covers South Carolina football for the state newspaper. is that correct, Jordan? That's right on. Okay. Jordan: Yeah, yeah. Yep. Canon Stogner: and yeah, you're this is pretty. Awesome for me because like throughout the week and especially on game day, you are the guy that I always go to on Twitter Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: to just look at updates or any like late injury pop ups or anything like that, especially when I'm at the game because you it's hard to get service there and definitely Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: don't get it inside the stadium. So yeah, so this is awesome for me, and I know Andrew's the same way. so how we kind of do things on here is since we are South Carolina fans, we usually start with South Carolina. the first ten, fifteen minutes and then we'll preview the rest of the weekend. So that's why we're the Saturday slate. so we do talk about all teams, but we do just focus on Science Klein the most. But before we jump into like talking about the season so far, we just kind of wanted to talk to you kind of about how your journey started and all that. So how did you get into covering college football and end up at South Carolina? Jordan: Yeah. So I I went to school at Arizona State for journalism and then kinda graduated during COVID and was just looking for anything I could really get. didn't really matter what it was and ended up like covering like high schools at a small town in Idaho and then from there went and covered Boise State and then you know was just always kinda looking around and and wanted to do something different. I had never really lived basically like east of the I don't know, Arizona, Idaho. So was Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: kinda always like wanted to to experience something new and and getting to live into the South and and this opportunity presented itself and I like, All right, I guess guess I'm moving to South Carolina. Canon Stogner: Yeah. So how long have you been at South Glind? It's been at least a couple of years, right? Jordan: Almost yeah, I think it's coming on three years 'cause I I think I started in the middle of the twenty three season. So yeah, Canon Stogner: Okay. Jordan: basically almost three years. Crazy. Canon Stogner: Awesome. Well I know that's pretty cool, for Andrew to hear that 'cause that is actually he went to school for sports writing and he's covering high school games right now, so Andrew Wright: Yeah. Yeah. Jordan: yeah, that's exactly how I how I got going. I think a lot of most people too, it's it's kind of that that trajectory. Canon Stogner: Yeah. so what does a typical game week look like for you? And is this like a bye week for you as well, since South Carolina's off? Jordan: a little bit. I mean, it's definitely toned down right now because there's no like media availability Canon Stogner: Mm. Jordan: or anything going on this week. So it is definitely chill. I know a couple other people are, you know, taking vacations and stuff like that. But a a normal week, I mean, it really depends on on the program and how they operate. For South Carolina, basically nothing happens on Monday. That's like the players off day. And so, you know, that's kind of a day for, you know, me where I don't do a ton, sometimes, you know, catch up on things or look back at the last game. And then Tuesday is is the players press conference and Shane's press conference. So that's pretty busy. Wednesday is the coordinators press conference. So do something from that. There's also like the the injury report that comes out on Wednesday night. And then Thursday pr you're kind of doing your like final thoughts and things like that. And then, you know, Shane has his radio show on Thursday night, which is obviously like kind of the last last opportunity for him to talk about injuries and talk about things, especially, you know, the last couple of weeks you're listening for like Dylan Stewart updates and stuff like that. And then Friday Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: is basically like almost like my off day where I don't really do anything. and if it's a road game, that's usually kind of the travel day where, you know, you drive to the the place or hop on a flight or something like that. And so, And then Saturday covering a game. Sunday, Shane does like a teleconference, you know, kind of looking back at the last game so that basically you can go into the Tuesday press conference and not really have to ask about the past game. Cause I think a lot of the coaches just want to like focus on the next opponent versus the last one. So by doing it on Sunday, it kind of gives him the opportunity to like answer all those like itty, you know, in depth questions about, you know, calls or things like that. And so that's basically that's kind of a week. I think most people I would say are pretty similar and, you know, you know, other people on the beat are that, but it it really depends on school of school when they have their their press conferences. Canon Stogner: Right. So do you travel you don't travel with the team, right? You Jordan: No, n I think that's a like an a myth that that p like writers travel with the team. I think this used to happen like in I don't know, seventies, eighties, maybe nineties. you know, where and it was actually like the newspapers and T V stations, they would pay they would pay like the school or the team to hop on the plane. Like it wasn't a free ride. They would pay for it. and I think it it some maybe happens like you know, an L B and things like that now, like only if the beat writer can't like find a flight or something. Very rare though. So that that doesn't happen. So we just go on our own and, you know, find a hotel or something and make Yeah. Canon Stogner: Yeah, that makes sense. okay, so kinda to your sports reporting, who was the first coach or player at South Carolina who like really impressed you? 'Cause you're now in your third year, so who was the first and like you sorry. Jordan: Yeah, I mean I mean I was in you know, I was impressed with I think Shane right away of like, wow, this is a you know, like he definitely can command a a room and things like that. And I think he does a good job for you know, sometimes for better or worse at like talking to the players through the media. where sometimes he'll get on these these tangents or things like that where it seems very pointed towards the like the players or the coaches, but It's coming out in a press conference. And so that's what sometimes fans don't understand is like they they think he's going after us or something like that. Where I'm like, I think he's just he's just talking to his players through us. And sometimes it sounds weird. So that Canon Stogner: Right. Yeah. Jordan: and then, you know, I'd actually like when I was in college, we we had to like cover high schools. and so basically like you you got assigned like a high school and you had to like go cover it. Like that was like a class. And my Canon Stogner: Mm-hmm. Jordan: high school was this high school called Pinnacle, which is, I don't know, t probably 15 minutes from where I grew up. And Spencer Rattler was the quarterback. So that was Canon Stogner: okay. Jordan: pretty, that was pretty funny. Of like I had talked to this kid as like I don't know, sophomore junior in high school. And then like seeing him, I guess that would be like five, six years later, and just like a complete 180. Like he did not sound like the same person. And I was like, Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: wow, this guy has. like matured tenfold. And so that was that was kind of interesting and fun of of getting to talk to him and kind of realizing how how much he had grown maturity wise. Canon Stogner: Yeah, that was on the QB one Netflix show. I mean, that show was massive. That show was massive Jordan: Yeah. Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: when it first came out and it was like it felt like that kinda always haunted him in his playing career, especially through college, was just Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: those few clips that he had on the show. but he did I mean, I've never met him personally, but he did seem like he's matured just so much. And he's obvious I mean, he's a fan Jordan: Yeah. Yeah. It was drastic. Canon Stogner: for fan favorite for the rest of his life at South Carolina now, just for a couple Jordan: Yeah, exactly. Canon Stogner: of those big games he had. Okay, for this question, you may you may not be able to answer it just for like job purposes, but like Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: w whenever you travel for like a high school commitment and you go to cover that, do you usually know beforehand where that kid is going? 'Cause I've always like kind of wondered like if you drive like make a long drive and you don't even know the kid's going there like Jordan: no, not I will say no, not always. Canon Stogner: Okay. Jordan: but but I I usually have a pretty good idea of like, like it seems like it's trending in this direction, and and things like that. And and sometimes, you know, sometimes, you know, you you have a like an idea of like, you know, I'll read some of the recruiting sites and you can kind of tell by, you know, how they're talking, you know, what the the vibe is. Sometimes it's like If South Carolina coaches are like reposting the commitment video, you're like, all right, I I think I know where he's going. Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: so there's that. I will say, like, you can get burned though, definitely, trying to do that. And the other thing is like if you if you travel to like the local kids, like local meaning like anywhere in Columbia, you know, Charlotte area, you know, if they don't pick that's like also a story where it's kind of Canon Stogner: You're right. Jordan: almost just as interesting where you go and you're kinda you're expecting them to pick South Carolina, but then if they don't, it's like, why not? Like that's a whole that's almost just as interesting. So, there's that. I mean, you definitely have an inkling, you know, and I think that a lot of the recruiting sites and some of the national people do a pretty good job kind of pointing in the direction of w where it's leaning. Canon Stogner: Right. Enter. Andrew Wright: Yeah, Jordan, first off, like Canyon said, thank you for joining us so much. Appreciate it greatly. Kind Jordan: Yeah. Andrew Wright: of with the way the season kind of went in weeks, kind of three through five, what would you say is your like biggest challenge covering the team during kind of a down stretch like there was from Mississippi State, Bama, Kentucky? Jordan: Yeah, I mean you're just trying to think of things that people like would care about. Like I don't like if I had a team, like I don't I could care less when they're like starting to lose. And so you're trying to think of like, all right, what what do people actually care about? and it's probably not the feature on the, you know, backup linebacker or something like that. so like during that, you know, the the time I guess going into the Florida game, like as crappy as it was, it was like all people cared about was Shane's future. And so it was like that's kinda those are the stories of like, okay, like what you know, what does his future look like? And then how do the players respond into that? so that part's a little weird and then, you know, you're kind of think coming out of all those games of like, all right, what does what does anyone actually care about? sometimes that can be that's a lot tougher when they're losing. Canon Stogner: Yeah. I'm kinda I'm glad you brought that up 'cause I was actually gonna transition to Beamer. after the Kentucky game, did you did you think that was it? 'Cause I remember you may Jordan: Mm. Canon Stogner: have been the one that posted it, but there was a clip of like him running off the field and you could tell he just looked drained. And Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: I know a lot of South Carolina fans are calling for him, but I've actually been on the other side. I've been more harsh towards the fans of at South Carolina. Jordan: okay. Canon Stogner: And I'll kinda I can dive into that if if you want me to do that. but yeah, so how did what did you what were your thoughts after the Kentucky game? Jordan: Yeah, I I w honestly didn't know. I was like, you know, I think it's it's certainly possible, especially, you know, college football twenty twenty six. I'm like, there's certainly a chance, like, you know, and and you kind of wake up early the next morning and, you know, make a lot of phone calls and texts and try and figure it out. And it it kind of became pretty clear pretty quickly of like, all right, it's not like not happening. and definitely people were like, Hey, we've got to give him more time and there's also the money aspect of that. But you know, even more than the money is like people genuinely seem to want want him to have more time. and there there's really no difference of like you fire him in the middle of the season or you wait until the end of the season. Like it doesn't the financial impacts aren't that drastic. So why not just let it go till the end of the year. So there's that. But yeah, definitely, I mean, after the game I'm like, I've no idea what could happen. You know, and you try and think back of like Penn State last year of like Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: I don't think I don't think there are a lot of Penn State people like thinking that's gonna happen. So you kinda always have to be on your toes and and things like that. And so you're defin I you know, I definitely woke up far earlier than I would have and tried to to make sure if something did happen that, you know, I I was awake. Canon Stogner: Yeah. yeah, 'cause y you can kinda a lot of people have been questioning like how much he cares and I think that is crazy to do that because yeah, Jordan: That's insane. Yeah. Canon Stogner: 'cause like I'm I'm sitting here thinking if if he didn't care, he could have probably could have left last year to go to Virginia Tech to follow his dad. And then Jordan: Maybe. Canon Stogner: I mean, yeah, it has been pretty, but I think now Will Stein and John Summerall would like a word with me, but I feel like now is probably the worst time to fire a coach because I believe this is the best that SEC and college football has ever been. Jordan: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: And so I feel like with what is used to be like a two to three, maybe four year rebuild rebuild has now turned into maybe a five to six year because Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: the top the top dogs are not going away. so I Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: think it's I think it's crazy. And then I mean, you look at your three losses. Now, granted, two of them were at home. And you're up two sc or three scores to both of them, or sixteen to Mississippi State. and you blow both of those leads, but you can't say that he's not recruiting well or like that they just don't have the talent to compete, because you go up three Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: scores against both of those teams. And now all three of their losses are those three teams are in the top fifteen ranking. So it's not Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: like we're losing to I think a lot of people are still stuck on Mississippi State and Kentucky being who they used to be. Jordan: Sure, a thousand percent. Yeah. And you brought up the one thing too, which I th I think people just don't really, you know, they get too emotional where they're like watching him run off the field and they're like, it's over. I'm like, it's just Canon Stogner: Yeah. Andrew Wright: You Jordan: running off the field. Like, how do you what do you want him to do? Like I don't Canon Stogner: Yeah. Yeah. Jordan: people just kinda go in with their emotions where they're like, Yeah. Stuff like that, like little things. They're like trying to dissect every word and everything during a press conference. I'm like, I don't none of that matters. Like like of course he's Canon Stogner: Yeah. I Jordan: pissed off. Canon Stogner: Right. And I that like I said, I've I've kind of took the other side and kind of went at the fans a little bit. I just think you may have a different opinion on it, but I just feel like the energy's not there right now. And you take away the first two games and then the Mississippi State game you have a lightning delay. But it just bothers me whenever fans are like when you commit to go to a game like that, you're committing Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: to your whole day being taken up. And so it just bothers me like when fans leave early and especially the top section of the student section and stuff. I'm like, where else do you have to go? Jordan: Yeah, yeah. I know it is that stuff always drives me nuts too. But not at you know South Carolina thing, but like anywhere where it's like, Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: Hey, you know, what is the point? And it's some people are just like, Hey, I I'd rather just be at the bars right now. Which partly I get a little bit, but Canon Stogner: Yeah, yeah. Right. Jordan: yeah, gets a little nuts. And I think part of the reason why people were so down on Shane, like you're bringing up a lot of good points. I think it's just the the emotional toll of of blowing leads is rough to to swallow sometimes. Canon Stogner: Right. yeah. Okay, so transitioning to Lenoris. and yeah, I know it's still early and he did he's coming off his best game, maybe of his career. Definitely his cleanest game. I was just wondering do you know if there's any chance or a possibility a possibility that Lenoris could return next year? 'Cause I have seen that he's still he is able to do that. Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: And, you know, probably not being able to play with his brother this year after his injury. do you see that happening? It kind of feels like he's maybe not projected as high now. Jordan: Yeah, that's a good question. I haven't I'll I will ask around about that. That's interesting. I mean you never want to say never. but man, he's been in it feels like he's been in college forever. I guess it's only Canon Stogner: Yeah. Andrew Wright: Yeah. Jordan: been four years, but I don't know. I have a hard time kind of seeing him come back, but I have a hard time seeing a lot of guys come back and and now with the money, it's I guess you're kind of looking around thinking, okay, like at what What draft slot does it make sense to to go to the NFL? And at what point does it become like financially smart to come back? and then you're kind of way into of like the NFL. What does the NFL think of a kid who would be I don't know, twenty two or twenty three versus whatever twenty one or twenty two? So Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: there's that. I mean I suppose it's possible, but I think I'd bet against it right now. Granted I I said the same thing at this time last year and and he came back, so Canon Stogner: Right. It feels like it'd be a little weird for a quarterback in college to announce for the third year in a row he's coming back. Andrew Wright: I'm out. Jordan: Yeah, yeah. But I mean Canon Stogner: I hate that that's my least that's my least favorite thing with the transfer portal is like a fresh a freshman announcing he's returning. Jordan: It drives me absolutely insane too. He did it w the one year they put out the graphic and I was like I was like pissed. They put out the graphic at like nine PM Eastern on Christmas Eve that Lenoris was Canon Stogner: Yes. Jordan: returning. I was like, What was the point of this? Could we Yeah. Canon Stogner: Yeah, Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas. Jordan: I guess it's fun for the fans, I guess, on a Christmas Eve, but I was just like, You gotta be kidding me. Canon Stogner: Yeah, yeah, for sure. okay. now let's move on to Dylan Stewart. Now this is I have been very defensive of Dylan Stewart this this year. And I was even defensive of him after the Alabama game. Jordan: Okay. Canon Stogner: but I do I just feel like it kinda got overshadowed because of how the game transpired and how the next couple of days transpired with the suspension and stuff. But there's two questions I have about that. For one, do you think South Carolina was maybe trying to defend themselves before the SEC got involved with the suspension? Because like when it first came out that he was suspended, it felt like, okay, like this he really could be done. And then it kind of and then the SEC came out and suspended him for a game just to kinda for them to put a stamp on it. Do you feel like they were just trying to maybe defend themselves? 'Cause that was also the same week as the Oregon USC hit on Dante Moore. Jordan: Yeah. Yeah, I mean I definitely think that they they kind of realize like, hey, we can't like we have to do something. Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: and I and I have no idea if they put that that out knowing the SEC would come along or having a thought of like, it's probably gonna happen anyway. But I think it was also like a a message to Dylan of like, hey, if you don't if you don't like get your stuff together, like There's no guarantee you're gonna return in two weeks. And so Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: I think the indi indefinite thing, at first I thought it was a little dumb because it was like, What what is the point of just having this hang over the team for like weeks? Of like every time we see Shane, he's got to be asked about, this indefinite suspension of like, is he ever gonna come back? And I think to di you know, looking back on it, it was like kind of a message to Dylan of like, Hey, this is in your hands now, like There's no guarantee you're coming back and and if you don't do the right things, like we were will gladly, you know, kick you off. but he, you know, did all the right things and and I think like actually took took a lot of accountability and kind of came back as now you know, I think in a lot better form than he was. Canon Stogner: Yeah, I kinda I came on here and came up with the phrase I was like with the suspension of Dylan Stewart, I said it was either a save your job or save your culture move. Because obviously Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: obviously with Dylan Stewart's on the field, they are a much better defense. Jordan: Well, I think the only thing I would say is like, first of all, you had no other option. Like I I th I don't think I'm not gonna like paint Shane Beer Beamer as a hero for suspending Dylan Stewart. I'm like there's Canon Stogner: Right. Yeah. Jordan: not like I don't know what else he really could have done. Like you had to do something. and you knew you you probably had a thought like, hey, the SEC might just come and do this anyway. So it's So there was that part. Also like Dylan Stewart was not playing well for those two weeks. Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: Like taking him off the field was not like a big I didn't think that was a big harm in any way. And I there honestly might be some something to the fact that him getting an a week or two of rest might have helped helped his Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: performance against Florida. Canon Stogner: Yeah. that's I'm glad you kind of brought up the rest part. I was gonna ask about the Alabama game. So like right before the game kicked off, you know, they had maybe it was Alyssa Langer, whoever else is the sideline reporter on ESPN. Jordan: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: Right before kickoff, they announced that Dylan Stewart had like a late injury, late Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: week injury, and that he was only going to play twelve, fifteen snaps. And and then they come out at halftime and he plays majority of the second half. And so I'm sitting here thinking the like my dad calls it He said my dad says something happened in the locker room. He called it the Tuscaloosa revival. I was just wondering, do you know like what's going on with that? So I mean Jordan: No. No, that's funny because I remember writing it down of like, crap, we've got to ask Shane about this. And then you know, everything happened and I kind of forgot about it and didn't ask. but yeah, Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: I I don't know what exactly happened. My guess is that the goal going into the game was hey, he's gonna play ten, fifteen snaps, he tweaked something, and then he went through during warm ups and was like, I feel fine, keep me on the field and that's kind Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: of That's how it played out. I mean, I remember a game last year where they played at Ole Miss and it was kind of up in the air. Like he was a real game time decision. And so he went through all his warm ups and they, you know, he kind of gave everyone the green light of like, all right, I'm good to go. So I Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: I assumed that's what happened, but I yeah, I don't know. And and probably should have asked a couple of weeks ago, but it was it was like the fifth thing down the list. Canon Stogner: Yeah, yeah. well, this is the last question I got for you. you may you may be able to ask Shane Beamer this if 'cause I don't know if you know the answer about this question. but I've always kinda I've wanted South Carolina to try to move Nick Harbo to like a tight end, like a Tradez Green style. That way you have more playmakers on the field and you know, it kinda I feel like it opens up the offense a little bit 'cause it feels like the offense is always it just feels so crowded in the box. And I so I was just wondering if maybe they would move him to tight end. 'Cause he's not the best pass catcher in college football. So Jordan: Yeah, I I don't think that would happen for a couple reasons. One is like I don't know that he's he's a good enough like inside blocker to be able Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: to like pull that off. And then like if you moved him to tight end, like you're really just changing like a title. Like what's the difference of just having, you know, Nick Harbor and three receivers, Nick a tight end Nick Harbor and three receivers, or just having four receivers on the field. Like Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: to me it's like it's basically the same thing. Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: and then there's like the part of like he is a he can be a threat downfield. Like it hasn't always been shown and that's kind of the frustrating part. But like there is still the the thing of opposing defensive coordinators have to game plan for the possibility of him beating you deep or catching a screen pass and and bolting upfield. Like there are those things where he he has a lot of value there. And then you see a game like Florida where it all comes together and he catches the ball in the back of the end zone and has a bunch of other good receptions and you're like, okay, I like this is this is what South Carolina wanted in it. I Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: think all the problems, you know, all the issues that, you know, you see with Nick Harbor and the catching and some of that stuff, like it's still gonna show up if he's a tight end or not. he Canon Stogner: Right. Jordan: just might be worse in the blocking game. So Canon Stogner: Yeah. Yeah. Jordan: Yeah, I don't know if it really helps anyone. Canon Stogner: Yeah, no, that's a good point. I mean, I definitely see like the threat that he poses on the defense. I just I don't know what exactly they're lacking with getting. 'Cause I mean, he's he's had at least I'm th I can think of two plays off the top of my head where he's really shown his true speed and this the catch versus A and last year where he caught it around the forty and Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: bolted, just blew by everybody. And then the other one was the Clemson game last year where he caught like the fifty, sixty yard throw and he completely burned the corner. Jordan: Hmm. There was the one the first game of the season last year. He had the Virginia Tech. He caught a deep pass. Those were like, Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: Yes, that's right. Yeah. Jordan: yeah, those are the three I could think of too. I will say, like the first couple SEC games, I didn't really look at it against Kentucky or Florida, but those defenses were playing like insanely soft coverage. basically saying, Hey, we are gonna make sure Dylan Stewart is or Nick Harbor does not beat us deep. And South Carolina had a lot of open like receivers. They just couldn't catch the ball. Like that was Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: Yeah, yeah. Jordan: the offense load of looked a million times better, scored more points, had more yards. If they could have just caught the ball, and Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Jordan: no one would have like, there's there's n any problems. and so like the defense was basically saying, like, throw all the short and intermediate passes you want, like, we're just not gonna let you beat us deep. And, you know, they couldn't they couldn't complete those passes. Canon Stogner: Yep. No, I I agree. And I've I've kind of said that all year. It was just they they have open guys. I mean, even against the Mississippi State guy or the Mississippi State game, they had some open receivers, they just but they struggle. Jordan: Yeah, yeah. Like you wonder how how much better things would look if, you know, there just weren't, you know, thirty drops. Canon Stogner: Yeah, yeah. No, I agree. but anyways, Jordan, that's all I've got. Andrew, if you have any questions, go ahead. Andrew Wright: Yeah, I'll throw a couple things at you real fast. First one, we've talked about Lenore, and Dylan Stewart, and Nick Harbour. Who's one guy that you think is being severely underappreciated by the fan base this season? Jordan: I don't know if anyone's being underappreciated. wait, besides those guys? Andrew Wright: Yeah, yeah, those three, like one player that has really been underappreciated. Jordan: Gotcha, gotcha, gotcha. I'm trying to think. Canon Stogner: The offensive line as a whole. Jordan: Yeah, I think that's probably the answer. Like it's it has been a revelation how good they've been. And, you Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Jordan: know, I give a lot of credit to, you know, Shane Beamer and Kendall Bryals for bringing in, you know, new offensive line coaches and Randy Clements and and Jason Smith. they've been fantastic. Like it seems like they've instilled like a sort of mentality that South Carolina's been missing with its offensive line in Shane Beamer's past five years. I I mean, through six games, they've only given up ten sacks. I think last year at this time they were above twenty. Like it's just ridiculous how how much progress they've made. And then, you know, that's just on the pass blocking side, run blocking. I mean, South Carolina's top ten nationally in in rushing yards and and the best in the SEC. Like, they are seem to have like an actual identity of hey, we can run the ball down your throat. And I think that's gonna really come in handy when it starts getting a little colder and you know guys are you know guys are tired like that is that is gonna really show itself. I mean the offensive line, the fact that we haven't even talked about is incredible. Canon Stogner: Yeah, that's that's a great point. 'Cause they're always they're usually the first topic discussed. So Jordan: Yeah. Yeah, no I don't Andrew Wright: Yep. Jordan: they don't even get brought up. Like nothing. No post game press conferences. Fans don't talk about Like the fact that like no one knows like who who the offensive line coach is and there's no fire of that guy, like that's that's all that's progress. Canon Stogner: Yeah, it is. It is. Andrew Wright: And then kind of kind of my last thing here. So we're six weeks in. It feels like it's been kind of like a roller coaster of a season so far those first two weeks, then the next three, then kind of bouncing back at Florida. What would you consider a successful season the rest of the way through these last six games? Jordan: I would say if if you make a bowl and beat Clemson, I think that's that's kind of like the bare minimum. I think if you get there, I think you can look at the first half of the season and say that was an incredible disappointment, but they Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Jordan: actually turned it around. in saying that, you know, I think there's gonna be some folks that say, you know, you gotta win seven games, but that's like that's leaving almost no room for error because I I don't see them beating Georgia. so Andrew Wright: right. Jordan: if you win out aside from Georgia, that's only that only gets you to what is that? Eight wins. so maybe Canon Stogner: Eight four. Andrew Wright: Yeah, yeah. Jordan: seven. Seven wins and a Clemson win. Sorry, I was doing my math wrong. Seven wins and Canon Stogner: Yeah. I that's I Jordan: a Clemson win. Canon Stogner: yeah, I've said that. I feel like look at before the season started, like looking at the schedule, these first six weeks seemed like it was gonna be the easiest part of the schedule. Jordan: Yeah, yeah. Canon Stogner: And then now I feel like it's kind of flipped on its head 'cause now you've Jordan: Yep. Canon Stogner: got Tennessee whose offense is struggling. You got Oklahoma who nobody knows what they are right now. and then you have A and who is completely, you know, falling off, and then you got Arkansas. Jordan: Yeah. Canon Stogner: So if you can beat Georgia and then go into Clemson. Jordan: Yeah. Yeah, or even if you Canon Stogner: I mean that's that's but I don't see him beating to it. Jordan: even if you lose to Georgia and you're going into Clemson already having, you know, ball eligibility and you win that Andrew Wright: This Jordan: game and that's seven wins or you know, somehow if they they run the table and beat Tennessee and Oklahoma and A and and all those teams and and you're seven and four going into the Clemson game and you have a chance for eight wins, like you would ask any South Carolina fan before the season, hey, I'll give you eight and four and a win over Clemson, like everyone would have taken that. so I think that's Andrew Wright: Yep. Absolutely. Yep. Jordan: that's like the dream. Nine I think is like you know, fairy tale stuff. I I don't Andrew Wright: Right. Jordan: see that happening. Like I just think George is unreal. but you know I think a realistic like hey that was a s decent solid season. seven and five in a win over Clemson and you're feeling pretty solid and then you got a chance of getting eight wins in a bowl game. Canon Stogner: Yeah, I agree. all right, Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: Jordan, last question for you, then we'll let you out and you can just give me a quick yes or no answer. You don't you don't have to go Jordan: Okay. Canon Stogner: in depth about it. If Saclon does not make a bowl game is Shane Beamer the head coach next year. Jordan: No. Canon Stogner: Okay. Jordan: I don't I wouldn't I don't I there's no real like r sourcing or reporting, but I I mean that would be a that would be an implosion. Like that means they win what two more games. So you beat Canon Stogner: Yeah. Yeah. Jordan: you beat Arkansas and and one other team. Like that's that'd be rough. There's not a whole Canon Stogner: Yeah. Jordan: lot of you know, missing a bowl game in year five and year six is not great, but I also think they will make a bowl game, so I don't think that happens, but yeah, missing a bowl game would be tough. Canon Stogner: Yeah, I I do as well, I think. Yep. well anyways, thank you so much, Jordan. we're very appreciative that you decided to join us today Jordan: Yeah, thank you guys for having me on. Canon Stogner: and answering our questions. Andrew Wright: Yep, thank you, Jordan. Canon Stogner: So yeah, we'll let you out of here. Yes. Yes, sir, you as well. Jordan: Appreciate you guys. Have a great one. Andrew Wright: Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Jordan. Jordan: See ya. Canon Stogner: All right. Well that was pretty awesome. Andrew Wright: That was sweet. Canon Stogner: Yeah. That was very good. I'm just hoping his thing downloaded so like it you know what I mean? Andrew Wright: yeah. Yeah. Canon Stogner: but yeah, that was pretty cool. That's the first time I didn't even know what he looked like, I'll be honest with you. I I would always see his tweets. I've never seen a picture of him. Andrew Wright: I, yeah, more, more, too. Canon Stogner: And I think I think he took over for Mike Yuva when Mike Yuva left. Yeah. Andrew Wright: Was it Mike? That's Mike left mid-season, so that sounds right. Canon Stogner: Yeah. So, anyways, all right. Great, great interview. Andrew, let's just kind of do a quick preview of the games the rest of the week. we have Ohio State and Indiana kicking off at noon on Saturday. It is in Indiana, Ohio State is favored by three and a half on the road. number four, Indiana's number five. Ohio State's offense is averaging forty two a game compared to Indiana's forty. yeah, and Ohio State leads the all time series eighty one to thirteen and five. The last ten Ohio State leads nine and one. but they've only played Signetti once. Or twice, no. They've played Cinetti twice. Andrew Wright: honestly. Canon Stogner: so yeah, and it's been a lot different with that. What are your thoughts on this game? Andrew Wright: I'm just really, really excited for this one. Kind of two years ago, you look at this game and like, no big deal. And now you look at it, probably the biggest home game in the history of Indiana football, probably. Cause when they played them last year, it was in the big 10 championship games. Yeah, definitely. would say definitely not the biggest home game in program history. Kind of a chance. People have been kind of wishy washy on Indiana this year. It almost feels like nobody really knows what they are. Yes, they're the Defender National Champions. Yes, they've won 22 straight games. But they've been in two dogfights in two of their last three games and they have not liked the dominant team they were last year. So really kind of a, a proven spot for them to kind of say, Hey, like we still are the dominant team we were last year like, we still can't compete with the big dogs. And then for Ohio state kind of your chance to kind of reclaim the conference after this team beat you last year in the conference game, kind of your chance to take that back. So you're really excited for this one. I'll probably lean Ohio state. If we had to make a pick, just cause I think I trust their quarterback in their skill position players a little bit more than I do Indiana. But yeah, really looking forward to watching this one and kind of seeing who kind of emerges as the true perennial number one team in the Big Ten. Canon Stogner: Yeah. All right. On to the next. We have Florida playing at DKR in Texas. Florida or Texas is favored by eight and a half, which I thought it was ten and a half now, right? Andrew Wright: It was 10 and a half an hour ago when I looked, I thought. Canon Stogner: Yeah, it's ten and a half now. in the last two meetings, the record is one and one. Florida won last year twenty nine to twenty one. Your thoughts? Andrew Wright: Probably gonna be an ugly one if Aaron Fowler can't go he's got an injury that popped up so that could it now that could help also we get to see Tramell Brown for the first time and kind of see how he can do with that run game I've already seen him on my dynasty personally, but would be kind of cool to see him. I think Texas bounces back in a big way Obviously we kind of are under the hope that they don't just for the sake of the bet and kind of how we viewed them like But I think they do, especially if Aaron follows out, they will just absolutely stack that box and kind of try to shut that run game down and make a guy making, I think, the first start beat him. Canon Stogner: Hey hey, I've said it all I've said it all year and South Carolina even showed it last week. The road teams playing noon games always have the advantage. And Andrew Wright: Yes, it has been a massive advantage. Yeah, it has been. Canon Stogner: I th obviously Texas is a lot better than they were last year, at least defensively. But I think Florida's even better than Florida's much better than they were last year and they beat him by eight. So big game. Andrew Wright: Correct. Yeah. Canon Stogner: All right, Mississippi State and LSU, not sure if Camario Taylor is playing. Right now it looks like he's questionable. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: did they not have a bye week last week? Andrew Wright: They did face he got hurt before the Alabama game. He was hurt. That was against Missouri. He got hurting his Missouri and he's been hurt ever since then. He's been playing hurt. But yeah, they did have about so that that's that's an even worse thing. They did have a bye week and they're still unsure on Wednesday if he's going to be able to go Saturday. Canon Stogner: Yeah. this is another noon game. If Camario Taylor plays, do you like Mississippi State in this game? Andrew Wright: Yes, I do. I don't trust LSU as far as I can throw and I'll trust the Camario Taylor fresh off two weeks, a week to recover to bounce back from that embarrassing loss last time we saw him. So yeah, if he plays, Canon Stogner: Yeah. Andrew Wright: I like him. If he doesn't, game loses a bit of its kind of aura, I would say. But yeah, I'll take Mr. Stead if he plays. If not, I'll take LSU with the quarterback with Sam Levitt in Lakehead. Canon Stogner: This is this is such an incredible Saturday slate. Andrew Wright: This is absolutely and it works out so good. Like you mentioned that maybe off camera for us, but like what's our chronic not playing? We really get to sit down and take in all these games and really focus on. Canon Stogner: Bro, we've mentioned, we've mentioned three top twenty-five matchups, and they're all noon games. That's Andrew Wright: Yeah, it's crazy. Canon Stogner: crazy. And then we're moving to our fourth. We have Alabama and Tennessee. Alabama's favorite by five and a half. Don't know who's playing quarterback for Tennessee. I don't think it matters. Alabama is thrashing them. I think Kellen De Boire Andrew Wright: Yeah, I feel the same way. Canon Stogner: I Kellen DeBoy's first year whenever they lost at Tennessee, you know, Tennessee fans went crazy. I think his team is a lot better now, much more physical. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: And it's kind of like we're kind of seeing a mixture now of an old Alabama team with the physicality that they have. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: And then also that explosive offense that they have. So Alabama is a powerhouse right now. I know they lost like Andrew Wright: Yeah. They are, yeah. Canon Stogner: this past week, but I don't know. They could have won that game could have turned different if the referee keeps that flag. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: on the field. Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: so now moving on to our next top twenty-five matchup, another one at three thirty. We have Missouri versus Ole Miss, number thirteen versus number nine. Ole Miss is favored by six. it is a home game for Ole Miss. I kind of thought six was maybe a little too much because Missouri is Missouri looks really good. Missouri leads the all time series seven to one. but their last meeting was in twenty nineteen where Missouri won thirty eight twenty seven. So they're they've played both had two different coaches. but yeah, massive game. Who do you like in that game, Missouri or Ole Miss? Andrew Wright: Yeah. I love Missouri here. You get the fact of an Austin Canon Stogner: Okay. Andrew Wright: Simmons revenge game. Number one, going back to the school that he was supposed to start at last year. So you have that aspect. You had the fact that Missouri lost what we thought was the best run back in the country before the season and their run game has not missed a beat whatsoever. Jamal Roberts has been an absolute stud. And I think Missouri is playing with the chip on their shoulder. I don't if you saw Drake which yesterday at his, at his presser. Kind of finished up. He said, so y'all at 3.30 on the SEC Network. So they're a little mad that that's a top 13 matchup that is on the SEC Network rather than ESPN or ABC. I think Alabama and Tennessee got the ABC game. So Drinkwes is a little mad about that. He'll have his team kind of balled into all that. Well, we're not good enough for ABC or ESPN. So I'm like you, think six points is way too much. I love Missouri in this spot. Because I don't trust Ole Miss's defense, unfortunately. And that's kind of, that was supposed to be the good part. What's the defense and it just has not shown up yet. They are off a bar, so they have had some time to kind of regroup and recover and try to get that figured out. But I love Missouri. I'll take Missouri in the points. Canon Stogner: Yeah, Eli Drankowicz is banned from my Twitter account, so I don't see nothing with him. And Andrew Wright: Ha Canon Stogner: I wish he I wish he'd get over himself if he's complaining about the SEC network. But anywho, all right, on to our next game, a a top ten matchup. I mean, this is ridiculous. Ridiculous. Andrew Wright: Yeah, it is. It's crazy. Canon Stogner: And there's some games that we're not even covering. That is like Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: a team that was previously ranked versus a ranked team this week. Like Auburn and Georgia. massive games. Oklahoma versus Kentucky. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: massive games. Notre Dame versus BYU top ten matchup at seven thirty in Provo, Utah. Number two versus number eight. Notre Dame has historically led the series. Major, major non confidence test for both teams. so yeah, we haven't really seen Notre Dame what they would look like against a talented team, a good team. And BYU, this is a test to see how much better they've gotten from this past year to Currently. So your thoughts. Andrew Wright: Yep. Yeah, really excited to kind of see both these teams against some real competition and kind of just how you laid it out. Notre Dame's first real test, BYU's first test against a really good team. The last time we saw BYU on the field against a really good opponent, they were blown out big 12 championship game. And so this is their first real opportunity since then. They don't have their start running back, believe. LJ Martin, I think he's out, which means this game is very bare Bachmeier. Heavy for them and if Notre Dame could take him away in the ground game I don't think they have enough playmakers to kind of pull off what be a massive land So I'm definitely kind of leaning with Notre Dame here ten and half is a lot of points for a top ten matchup That is a lot that's gotta be one. I would think one of the biggest spreads ever for a top ten matchup So if I had to bet the game I would take the spread but I'll take Notre Dame to win And kind of prove themselves. It's like hey, we finally had to play somebody and we handled it pretty well Canon Stogner: Yeah. All right. on to Kentucky and Oklahoma, Kentucky coming off another thirty-five thirty-four overtime win versus LSU. they've had two straight overtime wins with the exact same score. Kinda crazy. And then you have Oklahoma, who was once heavily favored to maybe even win the conference championship. To then everybody crapping on Jomateur na Jomateer including myself. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: Still have a good defense and then they go and dominate, not dominate, but they go and shut down Arch Manning and Texas offense. Oklahoma is favored by six and a half to seven right now. It is at Oklahoma. I thought that was a little crazy. However, Kentucky's defense isn't that good. And which I think favors Oklahoma's offense just a little bit better because they've played some elite defenses so far this year. John Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: Matthias struggled. Kentucky has really good offense and Will Stein is an offense coach coming over from Oregon and he's kind of making me eat my words 'cause he said before Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: the season, like somebody asked him what makes you different? And he said, Because I'm here, which very cocky to say, but now he's three and two and he's got two massive wins. Or he's five and one, he's got two massive wins against some pretty good teams. So yeah, kind of crazy. Don't really know what to expect. Can Oklahoma's defense shut down Will Stein's offense or What? I think it's gonna be a dogfight. Andrew Wright: Yeah, I think it's a dogfight as well. think if John Matier can just not give the ball to the other team, Oklahoma's defense is more than equipped to be able to keep them in the game and kind of stop that offense. It'll basically come down to whether or not John Matier can not turn the ball over, I think. If we see him like he played against Georgia where he gives the ball away on a fumble and a couple of interceptions, then yeah, Kentucky should win if they're plus two or three in the turnover margin. But if he comes out and plays a really clean game like he did against Texas, he doesn't have go win the game. He's got to be a game manager. And just get his offense down the field and don't give it away. I think they are like some more than capable with their defense of pulling off an upset against Kentucky. I'm like you, I think the spread is insane. But they are a touchdown favorite. They shouldn't be a touchdown favorite against anybody. that's why they play the game. The game ain't played on Canon Stogner: Can we do? Andrew Wright: paper, it's played on the field. Canon Stogner: yeah. All right. Last game that we're gonna talk about. This is probably my favorite game of the entire weekend. obviously I'm excited about the other games too. But this is my favorite, I guess because it's just being a little overlooked, I feel like. Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: but we have a massive game for the Big 12. We have Oklahoma State number 18 versus Houston number twenty. Both teams have one loss. Oklahoma State's two and in the conference. Houston is two and one in the conference, and I think we both kind of said after the Texas Tech game, like this probably won't be their last matchup. Like they look that good. so Andrew Wright: Right. Canon Stogner: this is a massive test for Andrew Wright: Mm-hmm. Canon Stogner: Oklahoma State and a must win game feels like for Houston. Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: especially with BYU playing Notre Dame. I know it's not a conference game, but it that's that's a massive game. So yeah, very excited about that. We know how I feel about Drew Mestermaker. and Oklahoma State They didn't win a game last year, did they? They win one. Andrew Wright: They went one and 11, I think. Canon Stogner: And okay, well their one win last year was against Houston where they won thirty nine to seventeen. so yeah, I'm excited to watch Drew Mastermaker. Andrew Wright: Yeah, this feels like it has all the makings of kind of a 10 year 10 years ago, Big 12 shootout. Like that was kind of the thing was the Big 12 defense that it was non existent and with Drew Mestermaker, Connor Wigman. This could definitely be a game like first one to 40 wins. And if that's the game that turns into I think I'll take Oklahoma State just because they've looked so good since that just crazy loss in week one to Tulsa. Like seeing where their season has kind of went from there. Hard to like imagine how they even possibly were in that like lost that game and that was even a competition But yeah, they're rolling. They're hot drew master maker an absolute dog this year. You were all over that I'd like it to be known that I also had him in my top five big 12 rankings It wasn't just can and it was on him. I was on him as well. Just not to the extent not Canon Stogner: Yeah, but you bashed me the week after. Andrew Wright: It was it was deserved. You don't lose the Tulsa and I get bashed But you know what? He's done. He's bounced back. He's bounced back Canon Stogner: Listen, I'm a t I'm a bulk of twelve guy twelve game season. I'm a bulk of twelve game seasons. Andrew Wright: Yeah, really, really excited for this one. I'll take a clone of state if it turns into a shootout. Canon Stogner: Yeah. all right. That's it for our game recaps. Andrew, let's go ahead and hop into our weekly s top five spread picks. kind of give us what happened last week or our total overall. And then I think you are picking first 'cause because we tied last week, but you did you picked week or first the week before. Andrew Wright: Yes, overall, I believe we had the same record going into last week. I we were about 13 and 12. And so both went four and one. So that gets us to 17 and 13. I don't have the point toes in front of me, but I do know that our record is 17 and 13. So we are still tied on the season record wise. I can do it to the points and find that stuff out later. Yeah, both four and one last week. Really good weeks. Nearly had our still still looking for our first five and a week. Still haven't had that one yet. think we'll went four and one the first week he joined us. And then you and I both got the four and one last week. So we all three of us have gone for one, just looking for that first one to feed a week. So I'll kick us off this week. Canon Stogner: I'll be honest with you, I don't I I don't I'll be honest with you, I don't feel like this is the week I'm going for. Andrew Wright: No, I don't either. just too... There's just... There's Canon Stogner: Well, Jesus. Andrew Wright: just... It scared me. There's just too many unknowns this week. I agree. I'll start us. I will go Washington plus three and a half against Purdue. Purdue burned me last week. It cost me a perfect week when they blew out Minnesota. And then Washington also got blown out last week, but I'm still not buying into the Purdue hype. If they prove me wrong again, they get me again. But yeah, I'll take Washington as three and a half points on the road. I believe that game is Friday night. Canon Stogner: Yeah it is. Andrew Wright: So yeah, Washington plus three and half. Canon Stogner: all right, I got two back to back. Let me get Florida ten and a half versus Texas. Twelve o'clock game, that helps. And then I am going to take Kentucky plus seven, Oklahoma. Andrew Wright: Dang it. Canon Stogner: Now you wrap it back around with two. Andrew Wright: I will go Missouri plus six and a half against Ole Miss. Like I said, during our little preview, think Missouri wins the football game. So I'll definitely take the six and a half points. And then I will follow that up with, I'll take Duke minus three and a half against North Carolina rivalry game there. Obviously not as big as the basketball rivalry game. I just think Duke's really good team. I think North Carolina won that game last week strictly because Pitt had a backup QB. So I will take Duke to cover the three and a half points there against their rival. Canon Stogner: Did you take Missouri? Okay. Andrew Wright: Yes, that's what was there. Canon Stogner: Alright, to wrap it back around, I'm gonna take Oklahoma State plus four and a half versus Houston. Drew Mestermaker's my guy. Andrew Wright: So four and a half. Canon Stogner: Four and a half. And then I'm going to take Baylor favored by six versus TCU. Points and the win. Andrew Wright: I will wrap this up here. I will take Notre Dame minus 10 and a half against BYU. I did say that's a lot of points, but I believe in Notre Dame. I almost positive Notre Dame was my national championship pick before the season. So I'll stick with that and I'll take them to go in there and get our humongous top 10 win. And then I will wrap it up with, I will take Nebraska plus seven and a half against Oregon. If Dante Moore plays, I could kind of look back at this one like, man, what was I thinking? But if he doesn't, and it is Dylan Raolo somehow wins that job during the week. Oregon shouldn't be favored by 7 1 half against anybody if it's him or Brock Thomas playing. So I'll take Nebraska, which would also be a good story if Dylan Rayl was playing against a team he transferred from. That'd be pretty cool to see. So I hope he wins the job because of that. yeah, me the corn huskers to bounce back from that awful loss last week at home against Indiana. Canon Stogner: Rayola might be Rayola might be South Carolina's c quarterback next year. Andrew Wright: I hope not. Canon Stogner: If Lenoris leaves. If he gets his Andrew Wright: It's a possibility. Canon Stogner: if he gets his job taken before I mean he even gets a like a QB one, I mean, yeah, he could be the coach. But he was awful. Andrew Wright: You're right. Canon Stogner: He was slam pedophone. He was awful. Horrible. all right. Last game. Gotta do it. I'm gonna keep riding the ship. I Andrew Wright: So. Canon Stogner: don't think I'm ever I don't think I'm ever jumping off either. Playing at home, I got Wake Force versus California. I want California. Plus nine and a half. Listen, man, I rode and rode and rode and they never delivered for me. And then last week was the breakthrough. Andrew Wright: I wrote them twice and they burned me twice, so I'm out on Cal. Canon Stogner: So all right, we'll give us the five Andrew Wright: Well, all right, so to recap, I have Washington plus three and a half against Purdue, Missouri plus six and a half against Ole Miss, Duke minus three and a half against North Carolina, Notre Dame minus 10 and a half against BYU, and Nebraska plus seven and a half against Oregon. And then you have Florida plus 10 and a half against Texas, Kentucky plus seven against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State plus four and a half against Houston. Baylor minus six against TCU and Cal plus nine and a half against Wake. Canon Stogner: I actually do love my picks. As I was giving I decided to love all right. Incredible episode, maybe our best yet. for South Carolina to be on a bye week and us, you know, have a guest, somebody that works for South Carolina was pretty cool. first ever true guest. and we kept it under an hour. And he Andrew Wright: Yeah, good for us. Canon Stogner: was like a he was like a thirty, thirty five minute interview, no? Andrew Wright: Yeah, about 30. Canon Stogner: Yeah. I feel like it went well. I mean, we I know we kinda talked about earlier we were gonna do maybe fifteen, twenty minutes unless it went and I didn't even ask all my questions. Andrew Wright: Yeah. No, I mean, we'll follow. got some really good answers. Canon Stogner: Yeah. Yeah, we got really good answers. Andrew Wright: You're asking something that he ain't even thought about yet. He said he's gonna ask around about about Lenore's. Canon Stogner: the draft, yeah. Yeah, Andrew Wright: Yeah. Canon Stogner: when he told me that I was like, shoot, you done gave me a free pass.
