- 0:11Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Mic Drop Comedy Podcast, Good to Know.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I am your host, Sari Belyak.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We are here live and right in the thick of
- 0:22Speaker 1: a Big Pine Comedy Festival we just started today. I
- 0:26Speaker 1: am here with my guest, Sean Baker.
- 0:28Speaker 2: Say hello.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Hello, everybody.
- 0:31Speaker 2: We have a variety of cameras to talk to and different.
- 0:34Speaker 2: This is new. This is different for us. This is exciting.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Usually we're recording from the home studio. So now we
- 0:39Speaker 1: get to be out here in the, well, we lost
- 0:42Speaker 1: our golden light.
- 0:43Speaker 3: But it's 97 degrees right now.
- 0:44Speaker 2: At least.
- 0:45Speaker 3: It's very hot.
- 0:46Speaker 2: It's a nice schvitz-y 97. Nice April 8th. We're stuck
- 0:49Speaker 2: to these chairs.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Jesus. We used to do this festival in like September,
- 0:53Speaker 3: October usually.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yes.
- 0:55Speaker 3: And then it's too hot. we're going to do April.
- 0:59Speaker 1: I do remember I was actually talking about it, that
- 1:02Speaker 1: there was a festival in the fall and we were
- 1:05Speaker 1: out in the garden and I felt so bad for
- 1:07Speaker 1: some of the comics. They, they like dressed up, they
- 1:09Speaker 1: looked so nice and we were just all drenched in sweat.
- 1:11Speaker 1: It was like 117 degrees.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Can't look nice in Arizona. That's why nobody looks good
- 1:16Speaker 3: out here.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Thank you for saying that.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Oh, you're from here? Oh yeah.
- 1:20Speaker 1: We're off to a good start. Sean is already insulting me. Um, So, Sean,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you are a comedian. Are you performing this weekend while
- 1:28Speaker 1: you're here?
- 1:28Speaker 3: I am performing. I'm on one of the showcases. I
- 1:31Speaker 3: believe it's Friday's 7.30 showcase. Okay. So I'm very excited
- 1:36Speaker 3: about that.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Feeling good?
- 1:39Speaker 3: Not really. Because I do all the photos for the festival.
- 1:43Speaker 2: You do all the photos for, oh, good timing.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Got a beer. I should have gotten one too. It's okay.
- 1:50Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Do you want one?
- 1:52Speaker 2: No, I'll be good. I'll be good.
- 1:54Speaker 1: I shouldn't be drinking and podcasting. I think that's one
- 1:57Speaker 1: of those rules.
- 1:58Speaker 3: No, no.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Isn't it?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Okay, so can you tell us a little bit about
- 2:02Speaker 1: how you got started either with your comedy or with
- 2:05Speaker 1: photography and maybe how they came together when that was?
- 2:09Speaker 3: Sure, yeah. So in 2008, I started my own photography business,
- 2:15Speaker 3: Sean Baker Photography. S-H-A-U-N-B-A-K-E-R, photography.com. Check it out. Check me out.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Check it out. I, um, I'm primarily photograph weddings and
- 2:25Speaker 3: bar mitzvahs.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:28Speaker 3: And, um, so like people celebrations, that's my favorite thing
- 2:31Speaker 3: to photograph.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Yeah. Um, I love that.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I just finished 14th best, um, wedding documentary photographer in
- 2:39Speaker 3: the world.
- 2:40Speaker 2: No way.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Last year. And then.
- 2:42Speaker 2: That's really cool.
- 2:43Speaker 3: It's pretty good. Uh, number one in California, number four
- 2:46Speaker 3: in North America. So it's very good.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It's, um, I had no idea. That's awesome.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Thank you. Yeah, no, photojournalism is really important to me.
- 2:55Speaker 3: It's my style of photography. It's just capturing moments and
- 2:58Speaker 3: things as they happen. A lot of the good stuff
- 3:02Speaker 3: lies in between. But I've always wanted to be a
- 3:06Speaker 3: stand-up comedian. I remember when I was in middle school,
- 3:09Speaker 3: I used to not be able to sleep at night
- 3:12Speaker 3: because I used to think these visions of me performing
- 3:15Speaker 3: on stage as a comedian would entered my mind as
- 3:18Speaker 3: I was trying to fall asleep and it would keep
- 3:20Speaker 3: me up because it was like so exciting. I never
- 3:22Speaker 3: knew what it meant, but I just felt like one
- 3:23Speaker 3: day I got to do that. So I started doing
- 3:26Speaker 3: it a lot later in life that I really wanted to,
- 3:28Speaker 3: but I'm glad that I have, I'm like seven and
- 3:31Speaker 3: a half years in the game now. But, you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: a long time ago, I realized that if I can,
- 3:38Speaker 3: you know, use my photography skills and, stand-up comedy, that
- 3:44Speaker 3: there's a lot of comedians who are looking for photos.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I went to college for film and television, so video
- 3:51Speaker 3: is a big part of my background. I used to
- 3:53Speaker 3: work for HBO and 20th Century Fox right out of college.
- 3:57Speaker 3: So starting to record comedian sets is a big thing
- 4:02Speaker 3: for me because it lets me get on some of
- 4:04Speaker 3: the shows and just gives me some networking opportunities that
- 4:08Speaker 3: I probably wouldn't have had if I If I wasn't
- 4:10Speaker 3: a photographer. So I was like, you know, let's try
- 4:13Speaker 3: to make both of these things happen. But it's a
- 4:17Speaker 3: blessing and it's a curse. So I used to do
- 4:24Speaker 3: a lot of cage fighting also. Not fighting, but photos
- 4:28Speaker 3: for fighting. Not a fighter.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Sean, I'm learning so much.
- 4:31Speaker 3: About you right now. Not a fighter. Big pussy. Can
- 4:34Speaker 3: I say that word? Is that okay?
- 4:35Speaker 2: I think you can say pretty much whatever you want
- 4:37Speaker 2: in here.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Big pussy in real life.
- 4:38Speaker 2: That was your cage fighting name. Your wrestling name was
- 4:41Speaker 2: big pussy. Just on your merch.
- 4:44Speaker 3: That was my big pussy. In this corner, big pussy.
- 4:47Speaker 3: And let's see. I used to photograph a lot of fights,
- 4:53Speaker 3: but I was also a huge fan. So being behind
- 4:56Speaker 3: the cage and then entering the cage right after the fights,
- 5:00Speaker 3: I still had really no idea what happened during the fight.
- 5:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 3: Because I would be so, like, locked in on, like,
- 5:05Speaker 3: photographing that I would still go home and then re-watch
- 5:09Speaker 3: the fights as a fan. Because there's two different things,
- 5:12Speaker 3: you know. And one of those things, I'm a photographer.
- 5:14Speaker 3: The other thing is I'm a fan. And that's kind
- 5:16Speaker 3: of where the blessing and the curse comes in with
- 5:19Speaker 3: photography because I get so, like, stuck into, like, video
- 5:25Speaker 3: and photo mode that I'm like, oh, shit, I got
- 5:28Speaker 3: to go up in five minutes.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 5:30Speaker 3: And I'm just not in that mental state of comedy
- 5:32Speaker 3: at that moment.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I get that. I think that's very interesting.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Because I started with comedy writing and then went to stand-up.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And I feel like the photography, my understanding, especially from
- 5:43Speaker 1: what you're describing, it is you're more in the background.
- 5:45Speaker 2: You're watching. You're observing.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Do you feel that that helps your comedy? The kind
- 5:52Speaker 1: of taking things in and observing people? Does that influence
- 5:56Speaker 1: your comedy?
- 5:57Speaker 3: There's... I mean, no. It's interesting because I think that
- 6:06Speaker 3: you're like a product of your environment. So when I
- 6:09Speaker 3: first started out and was doing open mics all the time,
- 6:14Speaker 3: I realized that like, you know, open mic comedy sucks.
- 6:20Speaker 3: It does. It's brutal. It's tough. It's tough. It's hard
- 6:24Speaker 3: to listen to it. it's tough to be around it.
- 6:26Speaker 3: And the most important thing is to like get out
- 6:28Speaker 3: of that level. Nobody's going to graduate you. I feel
- 6:31Speaker 3: like you have to know that you need more. And
- 6:35Speaker 3: I think that like most open mics are three to
- 6:38Speaker 3: five minutes. And I just felt like that wasn't enough time.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I started getting into more of like a story, storytelling aspect.
- 6:45Speaker 3: And I was just like, man, I got, I got
- 6:46Speaker 3: time for one story. Like that's it. But also like,
- 6:54Speaker 3: I think I started doing pictures in a lot of
- 6:57Speaker 3: clubs to get guaranteed open mic spots. A lot of
- 7:01Speaker 3: the open mics at that time were random bucket pulls.
- 7:05Speaker 3: And then once I stopped doing open mics, I'm in
- 7:09Speaker 3: San Diego, California, so there's breweries, there's bar shows, there's
- 7:12Speaker 3: so many clubs, and that's really where I focus all
- 7:15Speaker 3: of my time on.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Is that the city you got started in with San Diego?
- 7:19Speaker 2: It is.
- 7:19Speaker 3: I'm from New York originally.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:22Speaker 3: My very first time ever doing stand-up comedy ever was
- 7:25Speaker 3: an audition for Last Comic Standing.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Wait, how did you get this? Where did this idea
- 7:31Speaker 1: come from? You were like, I'm just going to go
- 7:33Speaker 1: for it.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Because I think my whole life I've always wanted to
- 7:35Speaker 3: be a comedian.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And you thought that that was the recurring dream you
- 7:38Speaker 2: were having.
- 7:39Speaker 3: As a child. I don't know what the hell it was.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I just know that I woke up that morning and
- 7:42Speaker 3: my wife was like, it's the tryout today. Are you
- 7:45Speaker 3: going to go audition? And I was like, yeah, I guess.
- 7:48Speaker 3: And I mean, how stupid was I to think that
- 7:50Speaker 3: like the first time ever doing stand-up comedy.
- 7:52Speaker 2: But what if?
- 7:54Speaker 3: I mean.
- 7:54Speaker 2: What if? Like how amazing. That's like the stuff you see.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It's like Mrs.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Maisel.
- 7:57Speaker 2: It is. Like going on stage and they're like, wow,
- 7:59Speaker 2: she's amazing. I know.
- 8:00Speaker 3: I think every comic when they're starting out, they're like,
- 8:03Speaker 3: I could do that.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:04Speaker 3: You know, I could do that. And I just remember
- 8:08Speaker 3: it was like very cold morning in February. Did you
- 8:10Speaker 3: have to camp out for this? No, I got up
- 8:13Speaker 3: at like five in the morning and I was like
- 8:15Speaker 3: on line. four blocks and like two avenues away from
- 8:18Speaker 3: Gotham comedy club. That's where the auditions were. And, um,
- 8:22Speaker 3: it was funny because it was for a television show.
- 8:23Speaker 3: So Bill Bellamy was there and he was like trying
- 8:26Speaker 3: to hype everybody up and everybody's like, bro, it's cold
- 8:29Speaker 3: and it's early and nobody wants to talk. So he
- 8:32Speaker 3: had his work cut out for him. Um, I was
- 8:36Speaker 3: online with, um, some pretty funny people. We, we were,
- 8:39Speaker 3: we all like, we all had a pretty good time waiting. Um,
- 8:43Speaker 3: at one point, One of the producers was like, he
- 8:46Speaker 3: pulled six people from the line, including myself. And he's like,
- 8:48Speaker 3: do you want to go into the fun booth? And
- 8:50Speaker 3: at that point, I'll go into any booth. You know,
- 8:53Speaker 3: it was so fucking cold. Yeah. And we were online
- 8:56Speaker 3: for like eight or nine hours at this point. And
- 9:00Speaker 3: we went into this little fun booth. And it was
- 9:01Speaker 3: actually pretty fun. I'm glad that that happened because the
- 9:03Speaker 3: audition itself was a joke. It was an actual joke.
- 9:05Speaker 3: It was, you know, this is reality TV. There was
- 9:07Speaker 3: a separate line. of comics from L.A., New York, Chicago,
- 9:12Speaker 3: that already had their managers and stuff there. They were
- 9:15Speaker 3: the ones who were making the show. Maybe there was
- 9:17Speaker 3: a couple funny people that auditioned out of the blue
- 9:20Speaker 3: and they made the show too, but it honestly got
- 9:24Speaker 3: to the point where after the Fun Booth, the Fun
- 9:25Speaker 3: Booth was fun, pretty much what it was real quick.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Remember when you went to the mall back in the
- 9:29Speaker 3: day and they had those photo booths? And you get
- 9:31Speaker 3: in there with your friend, you close the curtain, and
- 9:32Speaker 3: then you take pictures. It was one of those in
- 9:35Speaker 3: the middle of a room with studio cameras in it.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Oh, okay, yeah.
- 9:38Speaker 3: And we would each take turns going in there, closing
- 9:41Speaker 3: the curtain, saying your name, your age, where you're from,
- 9:43Speaker 3: and then just start telling jokes. And that was it.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:47Speaker 3: And the first person went, and he blew it. He
- 9:50Speaker 3: couldn't do his name, the order.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He bombed.
- 9:52Speaker 3: Yeah, he bombed with his name, his age, and where
- 9:55Speaker 3: he was from.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I mean, I get it. Once you put the camera on,
- 9:58Speaker 2: it's like, okay. what is my name?
- 10:00Speaker 3: It happened to all five of them. Because I went
- 10:03Speaker 3: last and it was my turn. I was the only
- 10:04Speaker 3: one that killed it with my name, my age.
- 10:07Speaker 2: And they're like, sir, you're a star.
- 10:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and then I just started telling jokes.
- 10:10Speaker 2: And you won the whole competition.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I wish. But, you know, I wasn't ready. There
- 10:17Speaker 3: was no way. It was just a fun thing. I'm
- 10:18Speaker 3: glad that I did it because that was like the
- 10:19Speaker 3: highlight of the audition. The audition itself was like this.
- 10:23Speaker 3: The audition. Is this good there? Okay. The audition itself,
- 10:31Speaker 3: it was funny because the lines were still very long
- 10:34Speaker 3: and the club had shows that night. So you can
- 10:37Speaker 3: hear them on the walkie-talkies talking to the producers like,
- 10:40Speaker 3: we got to get these fucking people out of here.
- 10:44Speaker 3: And I'm one of these people and we've been waiting
- 10:46Speaker 3: all day, you know? And, um, they were like, let's
- 10:50Speaker 3: just wrap, wrap it up. And then they were like,
- 10:52Speaker 3: all right, all right, this is what we're going to do.
- 10:54Speaker 3: And like, we're going to get eight people to come
- 10:56Speaker 3: and stand around me. And this is the producer. And
- 11:00Speaker 3: he's like, when I point to you, you're just going
- 11:02Speaker 3: to start telling your jokes. And then when I point
- 11:04Speaker 3: to somebody else, you stop and the next person start.
- 11:07Speaker 2: And they thought that this would work.
- 11:08Speaker 3: No, they were just trying to get.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Rid of us.
- 11:10Speaker 3: And it was crazy because he would just start, he
- 11:15Speaker 3: would point to somebody and somebody just waited 12 hours
- 11:18Speaker 3: to do this.
- 11:19Speaker 2: This is so cruel.
- 11:21Speaker 3: And they just start. And the producer's listening to him.
- 11:24Speaker 3: And then in his headset, the producer's like, what did
- 11:26Speaker 3: you say?
- 11:27Speaker 2: Uh-huh. They're like, craft services? Oh, they just delivered lunch? Perfect. Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 3: We gotta get these people the fuck out of here.
- 11:33Speaker 2: This person's hopes and dreams? Yeah, sure, sure.
- 11:36Speaker 3: And then he points to somebody else.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Oh, this is so sad.
- 11:38Speaker 3: And then he's having conversations with whoever he's talking to
- 11:40Speaker 3: as he just points to everybody else. He's like, okay, everybody,
- 11:42Speaker 3: thank you so much for coming out.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I feel like, it's like hurting my heart just imagining this.
- 11:46Speaker 3: It was, Brutal.
- 11:48Speaker 2: I know this was your first time doing comedy, but
- 11:49Speaker 2: for somebody that's like, this is it.
- 11:51Speaker 3: This is my moment. This is my second time. The
- 11:52Speaker 3: first time was in the fun booth, like an hour
- 11:55Speaker 3: before that.
- 11:55Speaker 2: So you were a seasoned professional.
- 11:56Speaker 3: I was good. I had some experience.
- 11:59Speaker 2: But truly picturing somebody like, this is it.
- 12:01Speaker 1: We're going to get my family out of poverty. I'm
- 12:03Speaker 1: going to be a star. And then just somebody that
- 12:06Speaker 1: couldn't care less if you live or die.
- 12:07Speaker 3: I'm sure there was a lot of people who went
- 12:08Speaker 3: home very upset with that audition.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I would imagine so.
- 12:11Speaker 3: I think I would have been very upset too if
- 12:13Speaker 3: I had been doing stand-up comedy prior to that. And
- 12:17Speaker 3: if they didn't take me into the fun booth, the
- 12:19Speaker 3: fun booth is the best part because I did the
- 12:20Speaker 3: best in the fun booth. I can hear the people
- 12:22Speaker 3: clapping for me when I was in the fun booth,
- 12:25Speaker 3: which was like the weirdest part. Cause like, you can't,
- 12:27Speaker 3: you know, there's six, you know, there's five other comics
- 12:29Speaker 3: and there's like two or three producers in that room.
- 12:31Speaker 3: And then you close yourself in that little booth and
- 12:33Speaker 3: you just, you, you start telling your jokes. And then
- 12:36Speaker 3: when I came out, they were clapping for me and
- 12:38Speaker 3: I was like, Oh shit. And they didn't clap for
- 12:39Speaker 3: anybody else. So I felt like, yeah, I felt like
- 12:42Speaker 3: I just won the show and everybody's going to know
- 12:44Speaker 3: my name. And then the audition was a joke and
- 12:46Speaker 3: I didn't make anything. And I just came home, but
- 12:48Speaker 3: I felt great. Like I still felt really good for
- 12:49Speaker 3: like whatever the hell that was.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But after that you were like, I still want to
- 12:54Speaker 1: do this, even though this was a demeaning and horrible experience.
- 12:57Speaker 3: It was a great experience. Yeah.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Um, but then I didn't do it for a while.
- 13:01Speaker 3: Cause I was like moving. I got ready to move.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I got married.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I moved.
- 13:05Speaker 3: And then I, I started, I started doing open mics
- 13:08Speaker 3: in San Diego when I moved, when I moved to
- 13:10Speaker 3: San Diego, there's a, there was a, there's a, There's
- 13:13Speaker 3: a club in San Diego. It's called Madhouse Comedy Club.
- 13:16Speaker 3: And it's like the perfect club for open mic brand
- 13:19Speaker 3: new comics because they do seven mics a week. Oh, wow.
- 13:23Speaker 3: You sign up, you get all of them. So it's
- 13:24Speaker 3: not like you're not even going to get them.
- 13:26Speaker 2: How much time did they give you?
- 13:27Speaker 3: It was five minutes at the time. But then like
- 13:30Speaker 3: over the last few years, stand up has really like
- 13:32Speaker 3: kind of taken off. And now there's like so many
- 13:34Speaker 3: comics out there. So now it's like three minutes. But
- 13:37Speaker 3: to get five minutes from signing up seven days a
- 13:39Speaker 3: week is like huge.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that is crazy. Quite a bit.
- 13:42Speaker 3: And then you also had like the Comedy Palace, which
- 13:44Speaker 3: did open mics on Monday and Tuesday. Comedy Palace is gone.
- 13:47Speaker 3: It's Mic Drop Comedy now.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Oh.
- 13:49Speaker 3: Mic Drop does open mics.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Shout out to Mic Drop.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Comedy Store in La Jolla does them once a week.
- 13:55Speaker 3: There's the Grand Comedy Club. There's the Yellow Door. There's
- 13:58Speaker 3: so many clubs now in San Diego. It's just so
- 14:01Speaker 3: easy to get stage time everywhere.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Would you say, so you're a very talented photographer. Thank you.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And I also really love more.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Candid photos than like being asked to stop what I'm
- 14:10Speaker 1: doing and pose. Do you feel more comfortable on one
- 14:15Speaker 1: side of it, like being on stage? Is there one
- 14:17Speaker 1: that you feel like where you're your most shone? Or
- 14:23Speaker 1: you're very lucky you love getting to do.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Both of it?
- 14:28Speaker 3: I don't know who really who. I don't know. I
- 14:31Speaker 3: feel like I'm such a chameleon that I'm like so
- 14:33Speaker 3: many different people that I don't really know who the
- 14:36Speaker 3: core Sean is because... I pretend a lot when I'm,
- 14:42Speaker 3: when I'm taking photos, you know what I mean? I
- 14:44Speaker 3: have to pretend like I'm happy all the time. Like
- 14:46Speaker 3: I don't want people to like, not, uh, I don't
- 14:49Speaker 3: want people to feel weird. Um, if I approach them,
- 14:53Speaker 3: I want to look like approachable.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:55Speaker 3: So if I have like a little smoker, a smile
- 14:57Speaker 3: on my face, I don't look like the happy photographer
- 15:00Speaker 3: that you want to be around in my head. I'm not,
- 15:02Speaker 3: you know, sometimes I'm just like, oh, it's fucking people.
- 15:05Speaker 2: Um, Like another wedding, another bar mitzvah.
- 15:07Speaker 3: I love the weddings. I love the bar mitzvahs. Hire me.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah, check out his site.
- 15:13Speaker 3: But it's like, I feel like I'm working. Because when
- 15:16Speaker 3: you're working, you're pretending. Like even if you're working at
- 15:19Speaker 3: a grocery store, you have to pretend to care.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yes. I work in customer service.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I understand. I feel like the kids these days, they
- 15:27Speaker 3: don't give a shit. That's why they're on YouTube.
- 15:29Speaker 2: They really don't.
- 15:30Speaker 3: They throw sodas at each other and drive-thrus.
- 15:32Speaker 2: It's kind of amazing, though. I don't know.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I think it's fucking up the fabric of society.
- 15:37Speaker 2: It is, but it's also sort of inspiring.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Because I worked at Starbucks at a younger age and
- 15:43Speaker 1: it was like, hi, welcome, good morning.
- 15:45Speaker 2: And they're just like.
- 15:46Speaker 3: I know, they're assholes.
- 15:48Speaker 2: What's up? They'll like mad dog you.
- 15:51Speaker 3: My thing is, I'm not saying.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Why are you bothering me?
- 15:54Speaker 3: You're right, because my thing is I'll walk up to
- 15:58Speaker 3: the counter now, whether it's at a Starbucks or a
- 16:01Speaker 3: store or whatever, somebody's going to service me. Yeah. And
- 16:04Speaker 3: I no longer walk up and be like, hey, how
- 16:07Speaker 3: are you? Like, that's your fucking job. You're working.
- 16:10Speaker 2: But also, like.
- 16:11Speaker 3: When I walk up to the counter, you should be like, hi, welcome.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:15Speaker 3: What can I get for you today?
- 16:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:16Speaker 3: You're fucking pretending. I had to do that my whole life.
- 16:19Speaker 3: I was in the service industry all through college. And
- 16:22Speaker 3: I had to, like, really care if you found a
- 16:26Speaker 3: hair in your food.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yes. That, I mean. We still, we can keep that
- 16:30Speaker 2: tradition alive. I'm fine with that.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yeah, but.
- 16:33Speaker 2: But I feel like they're deconstructing something interesting of the
- 16:37Speaker 2: performing pleasantries of like, how are you? Good. How are you? Good.
- 16:40Speaker 3: No, they're not doing it on purpose. They're just fucking stupid.
- 16:43Speaker 3: They're just stupid people. They're fucking idiots. They're the worst people.
- 16:46Speaker 3: They're the most entitled group of people that I've ever
- 16:49Speaker 3: seen in my life.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Wow, Sean, you're really.
- 16:50Speaker 3: They've got nothing to contribute to society.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Wow, Sean is going in on the podcast.
- 16:54Speaker 3: They have no people skills. Their service skills are fucking terrible.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Good luck. Good luck, people.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Well, I believe.
- 17:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you're fucked. you're fucked. No, they're screwed, man. They
- 17:05Speaker 3: can't even pretend. Like, that's why I like, that's why
- 17:07Speaker 3: when I'm on stage, I don't have to, I don't
- 17:09Speaker 3: have to pretend.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I can be, you can take it out a
- 17:12Speaker 2: little bit. I'm sensing some fire coming.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Off of you.
- 17:14Speaker 2: A little heat.
- 17:15Speaker 3: It's like two.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Sips of Corona and, and Sean's coming.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Wait, just wait. It just loosens me. It just brings,
- 17:21Speaker 3: it just gets me to be myself because this is actually,
- 17:24Speaker 3: I come off hot with a lot of people. And
- 17:26Speaker 3: then I realized over all those years, like, If I,
- 17:30Speaker 3: if I, if I'm, it's just crazy because if I'm
- 17:32Speaker 3: myself right away, people don't like me and then, um,
- 17:37Speaker 3: and then they won't fuck with me.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:39Speaker 3: But if I'm nice and I play around and I
- 17:43Speaker 3: let them get to know me, then I can, I
- 17:45Speaker 3: can slowly become myself and then they love me. Like,
- 17:48Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm a super nice guy. I'm very like, uh, Like,
- 17:51Speaker 3: if you're my peoples, I will do anything for you.
- 17:53Speaker 3: If you're a homeless person, I will give you food.
- 17:56Speaker 3: I will do anything that I can to try to
- 17:57Speaker 3: help other people. But when it's not reciprocated, you know. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:04Speaker 3: You know. I get very upset when it's not reciprocated.
- 18:09Speaker 2: I get it. Yeah. Take another sip of your beer.
- 18:12Speaker 3: What else you got for me? Is that the first question?
- 18:14Speaker 3: We have four more.
- 18:15Speaker 2: All right. That was the end of the first round.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I think this is, um, I.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Think iPhone eight is going to pick up the, um,
- 18:23Speaker 3: the dribble that I just did.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Hopefully.
- 18:25Speaker 1: So they know that you really are drinking and we're not, uh,
- 18:28Speaker 1: we're not just ranting drunk here.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Um, this is good.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I'm glad we decided to set up here on the
- 18:33Speaker 1: podcast to where everybody is, uh, screaming over each other.
- 18:36Speaker 3: This is good.
- 18:38Speaker 2: You're not picking it up.
- 18:40Speaker 3: No, I'm sure.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:40Speaker 3: But you know what?
- 18:41Speaker 2: It's good. It's good. We're here. We're in the thick
- 18:43Speaker 2: of it. We're having fun. Um, I think we're going
- 18:46Speaker 2: to move to our trivia. Oh, okay. So we have
- 18:49Speaker 2: some questions. Our pal Carlos came up with these. Oh, good.
- 18:53Speaker 3: I love Carlos.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It is a good potpourri of weird shit. Okay.
- 18:56Speaker 3: I love it. Let's go.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Your first question.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I'm not good at trivia, but I'm put on the spot.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Yeah. I know. I had to do this my first week,
- 19:04Speaker 2: and I was so nervous. I was really stressed.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I don't care about getting it wrong, but I'm not
- 19:08Speaker 3: stupid in real life.
- 19:09Speaker 2: We know you're very smart. What city did the Lakers
- 19:12Speaker 2: play in before Los Angeles? Los Angeles. This was one
- 19:18Speaker 2: that I knew. You can phone a friend if you want.
- 19:23Speaker 2: We got people out here.
- 19:23Speaker 3: I can?
- 19:25Speaker 2: I don't know. There's no hard and set rules.
- 19:27Speaker 3: Hey, Siri, search the web for what city did the
- 19:30Speaker 3: Lakers play for before they moved.
- 19:31Speaker 2: To Los Angeles. Would you like multiple choice?
- 19:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll take some multiple choice. Okay.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Which city did the Lakers play in? Siri, come on. Minneapolis,
- 19:40Speaker 2: I would say. Wow, Minneapolis. Great job, Sean Baker.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Oh, good.
- 19:44Speaker 2: And Siri, thank you for the assist.
- 19:46Speaker 3: No, Siri didn't get it right. Siri's garbage. Siri will
- 19:48Speaker 3: get that wrong. You have to ask Siri to search
- 19:50Speaker 3: the web. What did she say? I don't even want
- 19:53Speaker 3: to get started.
- 19:54Speaker 2: I don't use Siri.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Siri sucks. Apple was working on their own AI for
- 19:59Speaker 3: a really long time and they couldn't do it. And
- 20:02Speaker 3: so that smarter Siri, everything that was promised is shit.
- 20:07Speaker 3: And now we're waiting and now we're going to get
- 20:10Speaker 3: Apple users are going to get Google Gemini powered Siri,
- 20:12Speaker 3: so it should be much better.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't use it.
- 20:14Speaker 1: But I know a lot of times, like at work
- 20:16Speaker 1: or wherever, somebody will say my name, Siri, and somebody's
- 20:19Speaker 1: phone will pick up.
- 20:20Speaker 2: And they'll be like, hi, how can I help you?
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah. Do you know the answers most of the time?
- 20:25Speaker 2: No.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Oh, so you're just like the real Siri?
- 20:26Speaker 2: I don't know shit.
- 20:27Speaker 3: Oh, shit.
- 20:28Speaker 2: I don't know shit. This is a pretty, I hope,
- 20:31Speaker 2: an easy one. What is the capital of Nevada?
- 20:34Speaker 3: Oh. I mean.
- 20:38Speaker 3: That is a Carlos question because that's where he lives. Yeah,
- 20:41Speaker 3: I know. He probably just learned it recently.
- 20:43Speaker 2: He did.
- 20:46Speaker 1: His daughter is working as producer this weekend and she
- 20:50Speaker 1: is laughing.
- 20:51Speaker 3: It's not Las Vegas.
- 20:53Speaker 2: No, it feels like it should be. Is it Carson? Yes,
- 20:57Speaker 2: Carson City. Good job. Ding, ding, ding. See, you're crushing it.
- 21:02Speaker 2: What film did Robin Williams win an Oscar for?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Mrs.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Doubtfire? No, but that.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Oh, that photo one? The photo one?
- 21:11Speaker 2: No, that was a good one too, though.
- 21:12Speaker 3: That was the best.
- 21:13Speaker 2: What was that called? Do you know? I don't remember.
- 21:17Speaker 2: We'll have to Google it after.
- 21:19Speaker 3: One hour photo?
- 21:20Speaker 2: That sounds right. Maybe.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Oh, but if it wasn't that... It was not. Then
- 21:25Speaker 3: it was... Oh. Yeah. Carlos is a movie... He's a
- 21:34Speaker 3: big movie guy.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 3: He knows this. I don't know. Fuck. Give me a hint.
- 21:45Speaker 2: It came out in the mid to late 90s. And
- 21:52Speaker 2: it's not Mrs.
- 21:53Speaker 3: Doubtfire. Well, it should have been. Right?
- 21:58Speaker 2: It is a great movie.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Although people probably get offended these days with Mrs. Doubtfire.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Same fucking people that don't have any customer service experience.
- 22:09Speaker 3: You fucking disasters. I don't know. What's the answer?
- 22:10Speaker 2: I don't think it's the same people. It is Good
- 22:13Speaker 2: Will Hunting.
- 22:14Speaker 3: I was going to say Good Will Hunting, but I
- 22:15Speaker 3: didn't think he was in it.
- 22:16Speaker 1: For a second, I was going to say Dead Poets
- 22:18Speaker 1: Society as an option, because I'm like, that was such
- 22:21Speaker 1: a good one.
- 22:21Speaker 3: That's not it.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I know. Okay.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I was going to say Good Will Hunting, too. Oh, dang.
- 22:26Speaker 3: I didn't think he was in it.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 22:27Speaker 3: All right.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Question number four. Oh, Carla, so silly. Name three... Of
- 22:33Speaker 2: the allied powers.
- 22:38Speaker 3: That's the end of the question?
- 22:39Speaker 2: That is the end of the question.
- 22:40Speaker 3: What the fuck is an allied power?
- 22:42Speaker 2: I believe he means.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Like the United States?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Yeah. That is one of them.
- 22:47Speaker 3: All right.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Looking at this, I think he means World War II.
- 22:57Speaker 2: So you already got one.
- 22:58Speaker 3: The U.S.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And I'm very generous with points, so we already gave
- 23:03Speaker 1: you a point for that.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Allied power. I don't know.
- 23:15Speaker 2: How are you feeling about our current war? Are you
- 23:17Speaker 2: feeling positive about it?
- 23:18Speaker 3: Love it. You know what's fucked up? I'll tell you
- 23:23Speaker 3: what's wrong with me.
- 23:24Speaker 2: This is just going to turn into Sean's ranting podcast.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Go for it. Speak on it. I'll tell you how
- 23:28Speaker 3: fucked up it is.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Speak on it.
- 23:30Speaker 3: You don't have to air this part. This is just
- 23:32Speaker 3: being honest. This is why when you asked me, like,
- 23:35Speaker 3: which Sean Baker? I don't know which Sean Baker. This
- 23:37Speaker 3: is how fucked up it is.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Ready?
- 23:40Speaker 3: Trump was like, you have until 8 p.m. or we're
- 23:43Speaker 3: going to annihilate the civilization.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 3: And part of me was kind of interested in seeing
- 23:49Speaker 3: what that was going to look like.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 3: And then I was like, oh, man, I got a
- 23:53Speaker 3: flight tomorrow. And I don't want that to fuck up
- 23:58Speaker 3: my trip. Please don't bomb Iran. And it wasn't because
- 24:01Speaker 3: of all the people that were going to die. It
- 24:03Speaker 3: was because of the festival. I wanted to be at
- 24:04Speaker 3: the festival.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Because it's such a great festival. Look into both cameras there.
- 24:08Speaker 3: And the Iranian people are great, too. It has nothing
- 24:12Speaker 3: to do with them. I just don't know them personally.
- 24:13Speaker 3: And I've been in this festival a bunch of times.
- 24:14Speaker 3: I know it's great. But the other ally powers, I
- 24:19Speaker 3: don't know. Germany?
- 24:21Speaker 2: Germany is not in there.
- 24:23Speaker 3: I know, I'm joking.
- 24:25Speaker 2: No, they were doing other stuff during that time. They
- 24:28Speaker 2: were busy.
- 24:30Speaker 3: They were powerful.
- 24:31Speaker 2: They sure were.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Finland?
- 24:36Speaker 2: No, not Finland.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Sweden? Greenland.
- 24:40Speaker 2: China? France? UK? And Soviet Union are some that he listed.
- 24:46Speaker 3: Alright.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I know.
- 24:50Speaker 3: That's a shitty question.
- 24:51Speaker 2: You know what?
- 24:53Speaker 3: You should change these.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I agree. We'll chat it up with Carlos.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Get rid of the Lakers one, too. That one's not
- 25:00Speaker 3: that good either.
- 25:01Speaker 2: I will scratch it. I'll remove it.
- 25:03Speaker 1: These are actually better than some of the other ones.
- 25:05Speaker 1: What is the main organ in the circulatory system?
- 25:11Speaker 3: This is what Carlos... Carlos came up with these questions?
- 25:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 3: I don't even really think I like Carlos anymore.
- 25:17Speaker 2: What the fuck is he thinking?
- 25:20Speaker 3: The main organ in the circulatory system?
- 25:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I don't fucking know. Your heart?
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Ding, ding, ding. You got it.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Fucking Carlos.
- 25:31Speaker 2: You got it.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Is that it?
- 25:34Speaker 2: How many herbs and spices does KFC's original chicken recipe have?
- 25:43Speaker 2: How many herbs and spices?
- 25:45Speaker 3: This is a Carlos question.
- 25:46Speaker 2: I know. They're all.
- 25:48Speaker 3: He has all of those herbs and spices at home.
- 25:52Speaker 3: And he puts them on everything. He does.
- 25:53Speaker 2: He does.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I just love looking over at his daughter Eliana just
- 25:59Speaker 1: laughing over on the side as we're lightly, very.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Lightly roasting her dad.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I love her dad. I love her.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Any guess? How many herbs and spices? Is it 10? No,
- 26:14Speaker 2: it's way more than that.
- 26:16Speaker 3: 11 or 12? It was the original recipe. Does a
- 26:22Speaker 3: black person do that shit?
- 26:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 26:24Speaker 3: Because that's important. Because if it's a white person, it's
- 26:28Speaker 3: probably five to ten spices and herbs together.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, just two. Salt and pepper. If you're lucky.
- 26:34Speaker 3: Way more than that. And that's why it's so delicious.
- 26:37Speaker 2: It is.
- 26:39Speaker 3: KFC should be like, is the founder a white person
- 26:42Speaker 3: or a black person?
- 26:42Speaker 2: Have you thought of running for office, Sean?
- 26:46Speaker 3: Not much of a runner.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I feel like this could be your platform.
- 26:51Speaker 3: But I just feel like. I've watched this YouTube channel
- 26:56Speaker 3: called Cocoa Butter. And it's where people, four people. So
- 27:02Speaker 3: it would be like two black people, two white people.
- 27:05Speaker 3: And they all have to make like a chicken dish.
- 27:08Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 27:08Speaker 3: And then they get to try each other's. And they're like, oh,
- 27:10Speaker 3: this is definitely made by a white person. Because white
- 27:13Speaker 3: people don't know how to season anything. But because KFC,
- 27:18Speaker 3: the original recipe was so goddamn good.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Yeah, now I am curious to Google the origins of KFC.
- 27:27Speaker 2: We're going to check on it. We're going to get
- 27:31Speaker 2: to the minute.
- 27:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. We'll just find out real quick.
- 27:36Speaker 2: This is important information.
- 27:38Speaker 3: What was the original question? Because I'll ask that too.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Well, let's just find out.
- 27:42Speaker 1: It was how many herbs and spices in KFC's original recipe.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Two things first. In KFC's original recipe, how many herbs
- 27:49Speaker 3: and spices were there?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so the original KFC recipe was famously kept a secret,
- 27:55Speaker 2: but it's said to have 11.
- 27:56Speaker 3: Herbs and spices.
- 27:56Speaker 2: 11?
- 27:57Speaker 3: Then white people. Was KFC a white people-founded company? Ah,
- 28:02Speaker 3: that's an interesting question.
- 28:04Speaker 2: So KFC was founded by Colonel Harlan Sanders, who was
- 28:07Speaker 2: a white.
- 28:07Speaker 3: Man from Indiana. Wow. Fucking.
- 28:11Speaker 2: So I don't use, I don't know.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Colonel Sanders. That's the real dude. White guy from Indiana.
- 28:15Speaker 2: That's nuts.
- 28:16Speaker 3: With 11 herbs and spices.
- 28:17Speaker 2: Did you guys know this?
- 28:18Speaker 3: I had no idea. I'm surprised that he was able
- 28:19Speaker 3: to get that much flavor out of 11 herbs and spices.
- 28:22Speaker 3: What is this, Carlos? Want me to name all of them?
- 28:23Speaker 2: Yes. If you can, for bonus points.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Hold on, this guy's still talking.
- 28:28Speaker 2: So I don't use like Siri or anything, but I
- 28:30Speaker 2: love hearing how casual it's like, it's like Okay, so yeah,
- 28:34Speaker 2: it was a white guy. Like the casual nature, the
- 28:37Speaker 2: cadence of it.
- 28:38Speaker 3: This is ChatGPT.
- 28:38Speaker 2: That is so funny. Just like, yeah, it's a white guy.
- 28:42Speaker 3: He's like, yeah, interesting question.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Wow. Wow, friends.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:46Speaker 2: I love it. All right, we're almost there. What is
- 28:48Speaker 2: the city?
- 28:48Speaker 3: But it's probably Gary, Indiana. Yeah. That's probably why the
- 28:51Speaker 3: chicken's so good. I'll go.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:55Speaker 3: If you know, you know.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:57Speaker 3: What's the next question?
- 28:58Speaker 2: I'll trust you on it. What is the city of
- 29:00Speaker 2: Pittsburgh's nickname?
- 29:04Speaker 3: The city of Pittsburgh's nickname.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Apparently it has a nickname.
- 29:08Speaker 3: Pittsburgh sucks, so it probably has something to do with that.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Sean will be performing in Pittsburgh next month. Make sure
- 29:16Speaker 2: you get your ticket.
- 29:17Speaker 3: But if I do, I'm going to Philly.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Pittsburgh. If he comes to your coffee shop, please greet
- 29:23Speaker 2: him with eye contact and a friendly smile.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Say hello. How are you?
- 29:27Speaker 2: Good morning. Welcome in.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I like when people call me Mr. Sean.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Mr. Sean. Okay.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Just Mr. Sean. I make my chat GPT end every
- 29:33Speaker 3: sentence with Mr. Sean.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I like it.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Do you want to.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Should we skip to the... Do you want to guess
- 29:39Speaker 2: what the.
- 29:39Speaker 3: What was the question?
- 29:41Speaker 2: The nickname.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Oh.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Pittsburgh's nickname.
- 29:44Speaker 3: Something with steel?
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Steel City?
- 29:46Speaker 2: Yeah. Steel City. I love it. Ding, ding, ding.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:50Speaker 2: Round of applause.
- 29:51Speaker 3: All right.
- 29:51Speaker 2: We got a few more. I feel like these are tough.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Who directed Oscar award winning... Fucking these movies.
- 29:58Speaker 3: I'm not good with movies.
- 29:59Speaker 2: Yeah. Who directed the Oscar award-winning Hurt Locker and Point Break?
- 30:06Speaker 3: Hurt Locker and what was the other one?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Point Break.
- 30:10Speaker 3: Another interesting fact about me is I never watched a
- 30:14Speaker 3: movie twice. Yeah.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Ever. I'm not a good movie buff person.
- 30:19Speaker 3: I don't even like watching it once. One time I
- 30:21Speaker 3: walked into Carlos reading the movie with the fucking captions on.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I was like, dude, what are you doing?
- 30:28Speaker 2: Is this true? Reading the movie. We're fact-checking. We're asking
- 30:34Speaker 2: his daughter.
- 30:35Speaker 3: I'm like, what are you guys doing here? He's like,
- 30:36Speaker 3: we're reading the movie. I'm like, turn the fucking captions off, Carlos,
- 30:39Speaker 3: and watch the goddamn movie.
- 30:42Speaker 2: It just helps him be engaged in it.
- 30:45Speaker 3: But what was that? The answer. Who was the director
- 30:47Speaker 3: of those?
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 3: I don't give a shit. Who cares? What is it?
- 30:50Speaker 2: The answer is Catherine Bigelow.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Nobody knows who the fuck that is.
- 30:53Speaker 2: I don't know who it is.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Is that Deuce Bigelow, male gigolo?
- 30:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's his aunt. Um, this is, I hope, I
- 31:00Speaker 2: hope a softball question. Who shot Abraham Lincoln?
- 31:03Speaker 3: Who shot him? William Booth, the Booth guy.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Yeah. The Booth guy. Exactly. That was his nickname. John
- 31:11Speaker 2: Wilkes Booth. Otherwise known as big pussy.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Mr. Big pussy.
- 31:19Speaker 2: All right. This was your, your final question. And we got.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Wait, that was the final question?
- 31:24Speaker 2: This one coming up right here.
- 31:25Speaker 3: Okay, here it is.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Who is the current host of Jeopardy, Sean Baker?
- 31:29Speaker 3: Oh, no one... Everybody stopped giving a shit once Trebek
- 31:33Speaker 3: left and it was like that nerd who won a
- 31:35Speaker 3: lot and then fucking Blossom was trying to get that
- 31:37Speaker 3: gig for a while.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Do you know the nerd's name?
- 31:40Speaker 3: No. I'm horrible at Jeopardy.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:43Speaker 3: And then I watched that show. Michael something? Craig?
- 31:49Speaker 2: Close. Ken Jennings.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Pretty close.
- 31:54Speaker 2: That was pretty close. Well, that concludes our trivia. How
- 31:58Speaker 2: did he do? Do you have a tally going? Even. Even. Okay.
- 32:03Speaker 2: That's pretty good. Yeah. You got a five points.
- 32:08Speaker 3: Out of five?
- 32:10Speaker 2: You got five points. That's pretty good.
- 32:11Speaker 3: What the fuck is this? Out of what?
- 32:13Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm not.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Oh, out of ten?
- 32:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I got a 50.
- 32:16Speaker 2: But I'm very generous with points. You know, sometimes I'm like,
- 32:19Speaker 2: that was a good effort, you know?
- 32:20Speaker 3: Hold on. I got the Minneapolis one right. I got
- 32:23Speaker 3: the books. I got boots, right?
- 32:25Speaker 2: Boots.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I got.
- 32:27Speaker 2: You got one of the allied power. So I gave
- 32:30Speaker 2: you that.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Oh, you gave me the whole point for that?
- 32:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm very generous. I'm like, the herbs and spices.
- 32:36Speaker 1: I feel like you did really well. It's like 145
- 32:40Speaker 1: degrees out here. We have a strobe light going over here.
- 32:42Speaker 3: I'm about to stroke out.
- 32:44Speaker 2: I'm in ADHD hell at the moment. You're just belching
- 32:47Speaker 2: into the mic.
- 32:48Speaker 3: My apologies.
- 32:49Speaker 2: We're really kicking off the festival with a bang.
- 32:52Speaker 3: I feel like it's almost over already. How long have
- 32:54Speaker 3: we been doing this?
- 32:55Speaker 2: It's been four days.
- 32:57Speaker 3: 32 minutes?
- 32:59Speaker 2: We are wrapping up now. Um, we have your socials posted.
- 33:03Speaker 1: Um, if people want to follow you and see what
- 33:05Speaker 1: you're all about, your comedy and photography, where can they
- 33:08Speaker 1: follow me?
- 33:09Speaker 3: If you want, you don't have to, I feel like
- 33:13Speaker 3: that's another thing.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:15Speaker 3: I don't like that. I don't like that shit. I
- 33:17Speaker 3: don't like videos. The only way that people go viral
- 33:20Speaker 3: when they just like make videos that are trending nowadays.
- 33:23Speaker 3: So it's like, you got to see what's trending and
- 33:25Speaker 3: then you've got to do that. And I'm like, that
- 33:26Speaker 3: just takes all the creativity away from like creative minds.
- 33:29Speaker 3: And I'm not doing that.
- 33:30Speaker 2: So, I mean, it seems like it's working out for
- 33:32Speaker 2: you because you are one of the four best photographers.
- 33:37Speaker 3: In North America. Fourteen in the world, one in California.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so it seems like you keep doing what you're doing.
- 33:42Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I love it.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Yeah, follow me. Sean Baker said it on Instagram.
- 33:46Speaker 2: Follow him, unfollow him.
