- 1:16Speaker 1: before we jump in, I have a question for you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Do you think Mary Thanksgiving Weekend has too many premiers? Maybe? Well,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I don't think I'm the person to answer this question. Why,
- 1:29Speaker 1: Because for you and I, this many premiers means that
- 1:35Speaker 1: we don't really enjoy them. There's so many of them.
- 1:39Speaker 1: It's like we got to turn them out and turn
- 1:40Speaker 1: these reviews around. Right, But it's not a I'm home
- 1:44Speaker 1: with my family and this is an excuse to just
- 1:46Speaker 1: spend the weekend on the couch getting into the holiday
- 1:49Speaker 1: spirit and watching movies, right right, I feel that, you know,
- 1:55Speaker 1: you want to hear a real about face for Wendy
- 1:58Speaker 1: here I do. I was making the bed. Okay spoiler alert,
- 2:02Speaker 1: we got screeners of some of these movies, so we
- 2:04Speaker 1: got to watch some of them before they aired. Yeah,
- 2:08Speaker 1: and I was making a bed and I had this
- 2:12Speaker 1: like feeling overcome, and I was like, I get to
- 2:15Speaker 1: watch the more, the merrier. This is probably one of
- 2:20Speaker 1: those movies I have been looking forward to since it's
- 2:24Speaker 1: been announced. So I, you know, I'm like, what is
- 2:27Speaker 1: happening to me? Like I have now reached the Hallmark
- 2:33Speaker 1: level of the game where I'm just throwing on the
- 2:35Speaker 1: Hallmark channel in the background now because it's so comforting.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I know you guys turned me well. I wonder wasn't
- 2:48Speaker 1: there a time a couple of years ago where they
- 2:49Speaker 1: dropped movies all week long, like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday
- 2:52Speaker 1: instead of doing just a Thursday through Sunday draw. I
- 2:56Speaker 1: don't know. I don't remember. I kind of think there was,
- 2:57Speaker 1: but I could have been misremembering that. I don't know.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm curious when the viewers. Do you like the two
- 3:03Speaker 1: drops Friday, Saturday, Sunday? Do you like a Thanksgiving night drop?
- 3:08Speaker 1: I know that's a tough placement. I think I think
- 3:12Speaker 1: so too, especially with like football on, and I think
- 3:15Speaker 1: there's basketball on in the evening too, and people you know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: doing their holiday stuff late into Thanksgiving Day, you know, well, yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and the trip to fan effect of the turkey. Everyone's
- 3:27Speaker 1: falling asleep early. But that sounds so heavenly, just to
- 3:31Speaker 1: be like, I'm full on pumpkin pie and now I'm
- 3:33Speaker 1: gonna lay on my couch and watch Hallmark. It does.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It does sound heavenly. Ah, so good. All right, Let's
- 3:39Speaker 1: let's get back to our movie review. Let's start with
- 3:41Speaker 1: a synopsis of The More the Merrier. Alice, an emergency
- 3:45Speaker 1: room doctor, volunteers for Christmas Eve duty at a rural hospital. Rural. Yeah,
- 3:52Speaker 1: it's not in the middle of a field, small town,
- 3:56Speaker 1: small community hospital amid a snowy Holidayuh she and Brian,
- 4:01Speaker 1: a top rated cardiologist, find themselves delivering multiple babies, an
- 4:05Speaker 1: experience that sparks an unexpected and lasting bond. The More
- 4:10Speaker 1: the Merrier is directed by Peter Benson. It's his twenty
- 4:13Speaker 1: fifth directing project and his third film in this year's
- 4:16Speaker 1: Countdown to Christmas lineup. Peter also appears on screen as
- 4:20Speaker 1: Jim did you have your Peter Benson moment when he
- 4:24Speaker 1: just you wait? Okay Uh. The story is by Carolyn
- 4:27Speaker 1: Fara know and mostly for her work in animated television.
- 4:31Speaker 1: This is her first Hallmark story. The teleplay is by
- 4:34Speaker 1: Zach Hugg, marking his twentieth writing credit. His Hallmark work
- 4:38Speaker 1: includes the Five Year Christmas Party, Ghosts of Christmas Always,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and both sister swap movies Ghost of Christmas Always Listen.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I don't think we reviewed that movie? Yeah we did?
- 4:50Speaker 1: Are you sure? Am I sure? No? Do I think
- 4:54Speaker 1: we did? Yeah? Did we not? That was the couple
- 4:59Speaker 1: years where we didn't do every single movie, And I know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: like The Holiday Sitter is one we didn't do, Christmas
- 5:05Speaker 1: House is one we didn't do, and I feel like
- 5:07Speaker 1: Ghost of Christmas Always was one we didn't do. But
- 5:09Speaker 1: I think I think you're right, do we need to
- 5:12Speaker 1: go back and do that? We also need to do
- 5:14Speaker 1: The Christmas House and The Holiday Sitter. By the way,
- 5:16Speaker 1: I can't believe we didn't do those. We didn't do
- 5:18Speaker 1: the Holiday Sitter. No, that blows my mind. I know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: because I swear we've talked about that movie so many times.
- 5:30Speaker 1: We did a TikTok for it. We did a TikTok
- 5:32Speaker 1: in Denver. Remember we were in Denver about the Holiday Sitter? Yeah? Really? Yeah?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Should we go back and do those movies at some point? Maybe?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I think we should in a quiet period through the
- 5:45Speaker 1: year when we're looking for a fan favorite or whatever.
- 5:48Speaker 1: You put it on the list, Put it on the list.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Rachel Boston stars as doctor Alice Rogers. This is her
- 5:55Speaker 1: sixty eighth acting credit. Hallmark Fans last saw her opposite
- 5:59Speaker 1: Andrew Walker and Adventures and Love and Birding. Brendan Penny
- 6:03Speaker 1: plays doctor Brian Davis. This is his sixty fourth acting credit.
- 6:06Speaker 1: He recently appeared in Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper and as
- 6:09Speaker 1: Gabriel in Providence Falls. Luccia Walters appears as Catherine. She
- 6:15Speaker 1: has one hundred and twenty five acting credits, including Virgin
- 6:18Speaker 1: River for Hallmarks. She's been in Notes of Autumn and
- 6:21Speaker 1: Autumn in the City. Adela Desani plays Monica. She's previously
- 6:25Speaker 1: appeared in Love and Jane, A Picture of Her and
- 6:28Speaker 1: My Christmas Family Tree. A J. Kosa Nick plays Charlie Jones.
- 6:34Speaker 1: This marks his second acting credit in his first for Homework.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Carmel Amat plays Elena Jones. Viewers last saw her as
- 6:41Speaker 1: Brina in Adventures in Love and Birding. She's also been
- 6:43Speaker 1: in The Santa Clas and Field Day. Carrie Feehan plays Max.
- 6:47Speaker 1: This is his thirty six acting credit for Hallmark. He's
- 6:50Speaker 1: appeared in The Five Year Christmas Party and The Nine
- 6:53Speaker 1: Kittens of Christmas. Iris Quinn appears as Ruthe. She has
- 6:56Speaker 1: an extensive Hallmark history, including The Wish Swap, Campfire Christmas,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and Open By Christmas. Campfire Christmas is another one we
- 7:03Speaker 1: never reviewed. Shut up, we didn't do Campfire Christmas. No,
- 7:07Speaker 1: that was a Chris forban. We didn't do Campfire Christmas.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Are you sure? That's pretty sure? Like I have memories? Yes,
- 7:17Speaker 1: we did. I'm looking at it right now. I've never
- 7:19Speaker 1: watched that movie. We have a review. Okay, maybe I did.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm looking at the at the audio but right now,
- 7:25Speaker 1: thirty minutes and eleven seconds from what year from when
- 7:29Speaker 1: we were long story short, but yes, we did do
- 7:32Speaker 1: a campfire Christmas. Donna Benedetto plays Samantha. With sixty nine
- 7:36Speaker 1: acting credits. She's been on Hallmark in The Professional Bridesmaid
- 7:40Speaker 1: and Sweet Carolina. Marley Collins plays doctor Natalie Spencer. This
- 7:45Speaker 1: is her thirty fourth acting credit. She last appeared for
- 7:48Speaker 1: Hallmark in the Real west Side. Note Marlee Collins needs
- 7:52Speaker 1: more roles on Hallmark. She's freaking hilarious. Great. Cardi Wong
- 7:59Speaker 1: plays Rich Hallmark fans will recognize him from The Chicken Sisters,
- 8:03Speaker 1: where he played Jen Or Again. I can't remember. I
- 8:06Speaker 1: didn't watch season two. He was only in one episode
- 8:09Speaker 1: of season two? Am I right? You are right? Did
- 8:12Speaker 1: they call him Jen or Again? No, idea, you can't remember. No,
- 8:16Speaker 1: he was a doctor. He was a doctor on The
- 8:19Speaker 1: Chicken Scissors and he's a nurse in this one and
- 8:23Speaker 1: almost got blown away in a tornado in two of
- 8:26Speaker 1: The Chicken Sisters. Kai Holme plays Zoe. This is her
- 8:29Speaker 1: sixth acting credit and her Hallmark debut. DeMar Hamlin appears
- 8:35Speaker 1: as himself. Let's take a quick break and come right
- 8:39Speaker 1: back with our first impressions. Hey, Wendy, what is your
- 8:50Speaker 1: first impression of the More the Merrier? Tell me this
- 8:54Speaker 1: wasn't originally pitched for the Miracles of Christmas banner. Oh
- 9:00Speaker 1: ooh interesting, what's your first impression? My first impression is
- 9:05Speaker 1: so predictable. I never miss a chance to shout Peter
- 9:07Speaker 1: Benson when he shows up in one of the movies
- 9:09Speaker 1: he's directing. There it is, there, it is. I love it,
- 9:14Speaker 1: No for real, And I gotta tell you, I was
- 9:17Speaker 1: moved by his little FaceTime really too. I love you,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I love I'll see you soon. And I was like,
- 9:24Speaker 1: oh my god, I know it was really sweet. I
- 9:28Speaker 1: thought that was a really it's in my likes. I
- 9:29Speaker 1: thought it was a really nice use of you know,
- 9:32Speaker 1: he always does these cameos and the movies he's direct.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I'm like, that was perfect. I loved that because you're
- 9:37Speaker 1: always waiting for that moment, like, where's he gonna be,
- 9:39Speaker 1: where's Welda, where's Peter Boom? There he is FaceTime and
- 9:42Speaker 1: then he pops in at the end. Great, let's talk
- 9:45Speaker 1: about our likes. Oh my gosh. In the scene where
- 9:49Speaker 1: Alice arrives at the hospital where Alice and Brian meet
- 9:52Speaker 1: for the first time in the parking lot and he
- 9:54Speaker 1: helps her and she kind of stumbles into his arms
- 9:57Speaker 1: and she looks at him and smiles. The chemist in
- 10:01Speaker 1: that scene is so instantaneous. In my opinion, I thought,
- 10:06Speaker 1: what's the backstory here? Because I thought maybe I knew
- 10:10Speaker 1: he was like kind of a newcomer, but I thought
- 10:12Speaker 1: maybe they had already started to develop a relationship, not
- 10:16Speaker 1: this is their first meeting. H I loved that moment.
- 10:22Speaker 1: That moment stands out to me too, only because like
- 10:25Speaker 1: it was so funny how she's like just save the
- 10:28Speaker 1: cookies and he's like slowly setting her down on the ground. Yeah,
- 10:32Speaker 1: like that was super realistic, I thought, and very funny.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Uh huh. You know he wasn't just gonna like prop
- 10:39Speaker 1: her back up and like everything was you know, like
- 10:41Speaker 1: perfectly Hallmark. I thought it was funny, like she she
- 10:45Speaker 1: was going down regardless that she was just softening the blow.
- 10:50Speaker 1: I thought that it was very funny, very very funny.
- 10:52Speaker 1: Can I talk about Rachel Boston for a second. Yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 1: Put Rachel Boston in any role and I will buy
- 10:59Speaker 1: what she's self totally. We have seen her as a
- 11:02Speaker 1: mom to a teenager, a bird watcher. Sure, she's an
- 11:06Speaker 1: er doctor who can flirt between baby booms or whatever.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Like she there's just something about her that just pulls
- 11:15Speaker 1: me right in, like makes everything so believable. I adore
- 11:21Speaker 1: Rachel Boston again, not used enough. I know she was
- 11:24Speaker 1: in two movies this year, but I feel like I
- 11:27Speaker 1: need more. I really like her too. And if I
- 11:31Speaker 1: can reference a recent review we did, we talked about
- 11:35Speaker 1: Christmas in the Clouds and you said, that's an Aaron
- 11:38Speaker 1: Kraikat movie, That's not a Tyler Ryan's movie. I know
- 11:41Speaker 1: people are gonna come. I I know they're gonna come
- 11:44Speaker 1: for me. But what I want to say is I
- 11:46Speaker 1: published a reel with that clip and people got very
- 11:49Speaker 1: defensive and just relax people, We're on your team here.
- 11:54Speaker 1: But people said, every Hallmark movie has the female act
- 12:00Speaker 1: her in the number one on the call sheet, every
- 12:02Speaker 1: single one. And I think this is another example of well,
- 12:06Speaker 1: I will talk about the ensemble cast. Rachel Boston carries
- 12:10Speaker 1: this movie and does it well. I mean, she is
- 12:13Speaker 1: the absolute heart and soul of this movie. Her doctor
- 12:17Speaker 1: Alice character. I loved her me too. I loved her too,
- 12:23Speaker 1: Can we talk about the ensemble cast? Sure. I loved
- 12:27Speaker 1: our hospital crew. I do, yes. I loved rich and
- 12:32Speaker 1: I loved I don't know anybody's names, Monica as our nurses.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I loved our charge nurse Catherine. She was super, no nonsense.
- 12:42Speaker 1: This to me was like Hallmark does the pit and
- 12:47Speaker 1: we had like a built out cast. Now I will
- 12:51Speaker 1: talk a little bit about the size of the cast,
- 12:53Speaker 1: but like we had a fairly deep cast. You know,
- 12:56Speaker 1: we even got the perspective of the chef. I really enjoyed.
- 13:00Speaker 1: I thought, are ensemble cast, our additional doctors. Carmel Amite
- 13:07Speaker 1: as the laboring mom was an absolute freaking delight. Like
- 13:11Speaker 1: the way these women work together. Oh my goodness. Yeah,
- 13:16Speaker 1: that's really fair. Well, I mentioned it earlier, but Marley Collins,
- 13:20Speaker 1: she's doctor Natalie Spencer, she is a doctor, right, yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: she's the OBG. I n Yeah. I thought she was great.
- 13:27Speaker 1: And I remember from The Real West too, she played
- 13:30Speaker 1: she played the sister in that movie as well, and
- 13:32Speaker 1: she's so funny. She's so great and relatable and she's
- 13:37Speaker 1: just got this like millennial vibe to her. I really
- 13:41Speaker 1: liked her a lot in this role. Really liked her
- 13:44Speaker 1: the stuff between her and Brendan as like, no, you're
- 13:48Speaker 1: my brother, You're not going to be any That was
- 13:50Speaker 1: kind of great. All of that was so good. Yeah,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I loved that. And I love that Iris Quinn comes
- 13:56Speaker 1: in as Ruth as this like voice of reason and
- 13:58Speaker 1: the retired nurse and I just kind of the mentor
- 14:01Speaker 1: to everybody in the maternal figure in this room with
- 14:03Speaker 1: all these mothers. I really liked the vibe of this ensemble.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I agree. I liked the Damar Hamlin tie in. You know,
- 14:13Speaker 1: it wasn't too heavy handed. I thought, mm hmm, I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: gonna get to the well, I'll talk about it in
- 14:19Speaker 1: militious about the you know, product placement partnerships they've done
- 14:24Speaker 1: in this movie. But I liked at the end. I
- 14:27Speaker 1: thought it was very sweet that he was on a
- 14:29Speaker 1: FaceTime with this kid who was part of their you know,
- 14:31Speaker 1: heartmates community. I know his story is very interesting to me.
- 14:36Speaker 1: So and and I think it's super interesting that they
- 14:40Speaker 1: had a Bills movie earlier this year right with DeMar Hamlin,
- 14:44Speaker 1: and he's in this too, Like he's the that deal.
- 14:47Speaker 1: He's the Donna Kelce of twenty twenty five Countawda Christmas
- 14:50Speaker 1: apparently so apparently so. Yeah, I find that super interesting.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I wonder if it's just coincidental because the tie ins
- 14:57Speaker 1: are totally separate between the two movies. It's not here
- 15:00Speaker 1: as a obviously he is a Bill's athlete, but it's
- 15:02Speaker 1: more because of his relationship with Heartmates. The thing I
- 15:06Speaker 1: loved about that is, you know, the kids bouncing around
- 15:08Speaker 1: behind him are actual Heartmats kids. Yes, I liked that inclusion.
- 15:13Speaker 1: And I left He's like, you can call me tomorrow.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I thought it was great. Yeah, No, I just think
- 15:18Speaker 1: it was a real nice nod to uh, the cardiology world.
- 15:24Speaker 1: It was cool. I thought they executed it super well.
- 15:29Speaker 1: It's really good. This movie to me as a whole,
- 15:38Speaker 1: it felt like I was watching I mean, it's like,
- 15:42Speaker 1: and I think I've said this before and other review
- 15:43Speaker 1: is like comfort food. You know, it's Allmark comfort. There
- 15:47Speaker 1: are no big swings here, and it's soft. It's gentle
- 15:54Speaker 1: to adults meat. It's very typical like once changing jobs, ones,
- 15:59Speaker 1: maybe leaving in town, you know, And somehow they've made
- 16:03Speaker 1: this er feel like it's the safest place it could be. Yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: where we watch the pit, we know how crazy and
- 16:10Speaker 1: chaotic that can be. So it's where you need a
- 16:14Speaker 1: week to recover after each episode. Yeah, exactly exactly. I
- 16:17Speaker 1: was like, Ah, everybody's singing along here in the er. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: I want to be in the er on Christmas Eve. No,
- 16:26Speaker 1: we don't know. You're right, but knock on wood in
- 16:29Speaker 1: that er. Look. You know, you say they don't take
- 16:32Speaker 1: any big swings, and I do agree with that, but
- 16:35Speaker 1: I do think it is you know, when you have
- 16:38Speaker 1: an ensemble cast like this and you're telling multiple stories
- 16:41Speaker 1: and everybody kind of has their own thing. I thought
- 16:43Speaker 1: that was incredibly well executed. Okay, that's fair. It's a
- 16:48Speaker 1: big dance. There's a lot of players here, right, like
- 16:50Speaker 1: it all has to work together, and it does. Yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you're right, it's not. In terms of storytelling, there's nothing
- 16:58Speaker 1: mind blowing. But I did think, you know, hat tipped
- 17:00Speaker 1: Peter Benson. The directing of this was great and the
- 17:03Speaker 1: storytelling all tied together nicely. When you look at the writer,
- 17:08Speaker 1: it kind of doesn't surprise me that he Ghosts of
- 17:11Speaker 1: Christmas Always like all of those the movies that we referenced,
- 17:14Speaker 1: five Year Christmas Party, Ghost of Christmas Always, Sister Swap,
- 17:17Speaker 1: all of those weave in multiple storylines, so that is
- 17:21Speaker 1: a talent of mister Huggs apparently. Yeah. A few little
- 17:25Speaker 1: scenes that I liked. Doctor Brian talking to his baby
- 17:27Speaker 1: niece I thought was incredibly sweet while his sister is sleeping,
- 17:31Speaker 1: just the way he's talking to her and having a moment.
- 17:35Speaker 1: I mean, who doesn't love Brendan Penny talking to a baby.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I loved when Carmel Emmet's character is in labor and
- 17:41Speaker 1: she's on her hands and knees. I appreciated that very
- 17:44Speaker 1: real portrayal of labor. Not everybody is laying on their
- 17:46Speaker 1: back in a bed. Yeah. Yeah. I loved the fake
- 17:51Speaker 1: out scene at the end where Rachel's like, and when
- 17:53Speaker 1: we're married in the future and she's like, I'm just kidding.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I didn't make that decision for you, but we should
- 17:57Speaker 1: go on a date. Real cool? Was my last life.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I'm no, it's fine. When she says, like, you know,
- 18:06Speaker 1: she contstended this speech, I was like, no, do make
- 18:10Speaker 1: this a career decision about a MANU met three hours
- 18:12Speaker 1: ago or whatever it is. But like, I like that
- 18:15Speaker 1: she was like just kidding. It was. It was a
- 18:17Speaker 1: real wink and a nod to Hallmark tropes. I loved it.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I loved it thousand percent. And finally a scene that
- 18:24Speaker 1: I enjoyed is doctor Brian trying to connect with the
- 18:29Speaker 1: tween boys. It is hard to talk to kids that age,
- 18:32Speaker 1: and that was very real. I thought that was so funny.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But on the flip side of that too, then we
- 18:37Speaker 1: have like your retirees making a pickle joke, a pickleball
- 18:41Speaker 1: with joke that I thought was really funny too, Like
- 18:44Speaker 1: we just don't like pickleball. You know, the pickleball game
- 18:48Speaker 1: here in my community is large and in charge, so
- 18:52Speaker 1: oh me too. I actually joined the pickleball club Facebook
- 18:55Speaker 1: group for my neighborhood. I've never gone to anything, but
- 18:57Speaker 1: I just want to, did you Yeah, But it's it's
- 19:01Speaker 1: too hard to infiltrate. They're they're hardcore. I am truly
- 19:05Speaker 1: scared of the pickaball courts because there is like a
- 19:09Speaker 1: rhythm down there, and I don't want to be like, hey,
- 19:12Speaker 1: we like to play and then get yelled at by
- 19:15Speaker 1: some boomers who have a schedule. I hear that, Yes,
- 19:20Speaker 1: scared scares me anyway, Are you ready to talk wishes?
- 19:25Speaker 1: I am, let's hear them. I get the baby boom
- 19:29Speaker 1: needed more boom to me, a little more chaos. Chaos
- 19:35Speaker 1: is exactly. And again I have seen the pit, like
- 19:39Speaker 1: I'm picturing babies delivered in the hallways, screamy like if
- 19:44Speaker 1: you haven't seen the pit, guys, we get a real
- 19:47Speaker 1: up close and personal delivery scene indeed, and maybe I'm
- 19:53Speaker 1: just feel like scarred by that a little bit, like
- 19:55Speaker 1: I don't know, we got like, you know, a mild
- 19:58Speaker 1: bustle in this in this movie about a baby boom.
- 20:01Speaker 1: He's still sweet, but I just wanted like more like oomph,
- 20:04Speaker 1: I guess, mm hmm, more more. You know, when I
- 20:07Speaker 1: was writing my notes, I was like, oh, well we
- 20:09Speaker 1: needed the power to go out. Well it did. And
- 20:11Speaker 1: then I was like, well we needed weather to be
- 20:13Speaker 1: a problem. Well it was, you know. So I mean
- 20:16Speaker 1: there were things that were making the evening harder for them.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Mm hmm. But I think I just wanted to see like,
- 20:23Speaker 1: oh my god, we got a baby crowning over here.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We need to go into a C section here, like
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know whatever, Okay, Well, I think I think that
- 20:32Speaker 1: speaks to my biggest wish about this movie, and that
- 20:35Speaker 1: is that I think doctor Brian, being a renowned cardiologist,
- 20:39Speaker 1: probably could have stepped in a little bit more. Alice
- 20:42Speaker 1: is doing everything and he only really he doesn't do
- 20:46Speaker 1: a lot, Like I mean, he helps, you know, he
- 20:48Speaker 1: does the cookies and all of that. But I feel
- 20:50Speaker 1: like we could have put him in a really uncomfortable
- 20:52Speaker 1: position by making him have to deliver one of these babies,
- 20:55Speaker 1: not his sisters, but not his sisters. But like, I
- 20:58Speaker 1: haven't done this since medical school, right, Like, yeah, you know,
- 21:01Speaker 1: he kind of is, like he's a qualified doctor. He
- 21:04Speaker 1: can certainly be doing some of these emergency medicine situations.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He doesn't need to be on cookie duty. Doesn't need
- 21:10Speaker 1: to be on cookie duty, although I do appreciate how
- 21:12Speaker 1: thoroughly he handles cookie duty the same, but I absolutely
- 21:16Speaker 1: agree with you, like she didn't have to do everything right.
- 21:20Speaker 1: What'd you think about the pacing of this movie? I
- 21:22Speaker 1: just thought it was I liked it really. I thought
- 21:25Speaker 1: it like floated. Well, okay, it wasn't bad. It wasn't
- 21:28Speaker 1: slow to me, but it kind of just floated along.
- 21:31Speaker 1: There was nothing that I'm like, uh it was so
- 21:34Speaker 1: slow or it was too fast. It just kind of
- 21:37Speaker 1: like this is a typical night for us. Yeah, could
- 21:42Speaker 1: sure could I have used like a little bit of
- 21:44Speaker 1: phrenetic energy. Yes, but also my anxiety runs high enough
- 21:49Speaker 1: as it is, so I think maybe the pacing was
- 21:52Speaker 1: just right for me. Yeah, hear you. Any other wishes
- 21:55Speaker 1: I do? I have just a few more. The adoptive
- 21:58Speaker 1: parents twists saw that come in a mile away, but
- 22:00Speaker 1: still loved it, loved it, loved it. Thought it was
- 22:03Speaker 1: very sweet. Question were you worried when the birth mother
- 22:09Speaker 1: was like, I think we should talk. I thought she
- 22:11Speaker 1: was gonna be like, I've changed my mind. Yes, yeah,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I mean that's not Allmark, But I was like, oh gosh,
- 22:17Speaker 1: what's happening here? Yeah, but I love that. That was
- 22:22Speaker 1: very sweet. Its very sweet. I have two more little wishes.
- 22:25Speaker 1: One is like I get that the heat wasn't working
- 22:29Speaker 1: in the labor and delivery wing or whatever. Yeah, but
- 22:33Speaker 1: putting all those new moms in one room rild choice
- 22:37Speaker 1: rough rough and then and then they all sing the
- 22:41Speaker 1: first no, well, and I was like, no, nobody is
- 22:45Speaker 1: singing after they've just pushed out a human That is
- 22:48Speaker 1: not happening. Not happening. You're not singing silent Night with
- 22:52Speaker 1: your babies. So they do sing silent night, right right
- 22:56Speaker 1: back to back. The first Noel, you're right, You're right. Yeah, no, no,
- 23:01Speaker 1: nobody is doing that.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: I didn't really want those babies in those stockings either. Why.
- 23:08Speaker 1: I mean, it was cute red and white, but I
- 23:10Speaker 1: was like, first of all, their shoulders are cold, and
- 23:12Speaker 1: second of all, I was like, it's gotta be itchy
- 23:14Speaker 1: in there. Oh yeah, maybe, But I envisioned it as
- 23:18Speaker 1: like this is this small community hospital and some grandma
- 23:21Speaker 1: knitted all those little yeah que outfits. Yeah or whatever.
- 23:25Speaker 1: It was cute my last wish. And I know that
- 23:29Speaker 1: you say that, and I agree. I agree. I thought
- 23:33Speaker 1: that they have incredible chemistry, except they kiss after this
- 23:39Speaker 1: like long night in the er. I was like, oh, what, like,
- 23:49Speaker 1: what part about that bothers you that they hadn't brushed
- 23:51Speaker 1: their teeth in twelve hours? Yeah, okay, kind of show me.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Show me she's in the break room brushing her teeth
- 23:58Speaker 1: or she got to take a little nappy and then
- 24:00Speaker 1: like brush your teeth after something. I don't know. I
- 24:03Speaker 1: just was like, you guys have been on your feet
- 24:05Speaker 1: for like the last twelve hours and like eating cookies
- 24:08Speaker 1: and like breakroom snacks and like drinking coffee. That sounds
- 24:13Speaker 1: terrible now that you have painted that picture. Sorry, I
- 24:21Speaker 1: refuse to believe that either Rachel or Brendan had coffee
- 24:25Speaker 1: and cookie breath. I'm sure they tasted like peppermints and marshmallows.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Left talk. Did you see that? All right? All right,
- 24:34Speaker 1: I just have some I just have some thoughts. Go ahead.
- 24:38Speaker 1: The scene with Rachel kicking under her car trying to
- 24:41Speaker 1: get the trunk to close with a classic so freaking relatable.
- 24:46Speaker 1: I never got that to work on my last car,
- 24:48Speaker 1: my current car. Do I do it my last one out?
- 24:51Speaker 1: It only worked when I didn't want it to. Yes,
- 24:54Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, that's so funny you say that. But
- 24:57Speaker 1: that's the whole point of that thing, is like if
- 25:00Speaker 1: your hands are full and you can wave your leg
- 25:02Speaker 1: and it half the time it doesn't work. Agree. I
- 25:05Speaker 1: think that's what was funny about it, Like it was
- 25:07Speaker 1: well done, well done. When Doctor Brian labels the cookies
- 25:11Speaker 1: he goes through, He's like, the stars have no sugar
- 25:13Speaker 1: in them. I'm like, they have no sugar, Like who
- 25:16Speaker 1: wants to eat a sugar free cookie? I understand, like
- 25:18Speaker 1: maybe we could have had like stars are sugar free.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I don't know something about the stars have no sugar
- 25:24Speaker 1: in them. I was like, nobody wants that. Are there
- 25:26Speaker 1: cookies made with no sugar? Well, there's cookies made with
- 25:29Speaker 1: sugar substitutes. Okay, maybe he should have said that, Yeah,
- 25:33Speaker 1: I'm made litting hairs here. But something about that, I mean,
- 25:37Speaker 1: this is a prime opportunity for like an alternative sweet nerd. Yes,
- 25:43Speaker 1: this is what who is Stevia? This is what it
- 25:47Speaker 1: reminded me of is I recently saw a TikTok with
- 25:50Speaker 1: a woman who's like, my daughter goes to a sugar
- 25:51Speaker 1: free preschool. And then she was like, I know it's la,
- 25:54Speaker 1: don't talk to me about it. But she was like,
- 25:55Speaker 1: I'm making treats for her holiday party. She's like, so
- 25:59Speaker 1: I made these cookies without sugar and she takes a
- 26:00Speaker 1: bite and then she just like spits it out. She's like,
- 26:03Speaker 1: I cannot serve that to the children. Cut to her,
- 26:06Speaker 1: She's like, I made snickerdoodles. They can yell at me.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Oh funny. It had that same energy to me. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: was just envisioning a sugar free cookie crumbling out of
- 26:16Speaker 1: their mouths. We have an additional product placement? Did you
- 26:18Speaker 1: notice it? And sure, yeah, yes I did this Actually
- 26:21Speaker 1: didn't hate it though, like it's done quietly. They just like,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you know, stop on it for a second. They're not like,
- 26:26Speaker 1: grab me that insure meal replacement so I can get
- 26:29Speaker 1: the energy of my elderly patient up, you know what
- 26:31Speaker 1: I mean. And a couple other things. She x raysed
- 26:36Speaker 1: the kid's head. It's a CT, Like, I don't think
- 26:38Speaker 1: you x ray and trying of CT kind of is
- 26:40Speaker 1: an X ray. But why do we not say CT?
- 26:42Speaker 1: Like what where's there was no medical consultant on set? Yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 1: that's a good question. And when our Zoe goes into labor,
- 26:52Speaker 1: she's like, my contractions are forty five minutes apart. And
- 26:55Speaker 1: I was like, you got two days, lady' could that's
- 26:58Speaker 1: not even labor. Like, if your contractions are forty five
- 27:01Speaker 1: minutes apart and you've had like what three of them,
- 27:04Speaker 1: that's been like two and a half hours you've had
- 27:06Speaker 1: that's all she could have walked to the hospital. It
- 27:08Speaker 1: would have been fun. I'm joking, obviously, Yes, I even rewounded.
- 27:17Speaker 1: I was like, did she say forty five or four
- 27:19Speaker 1: two five? Five? Oh? Yeah? But she says forty five.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Because then a little while later in the bakery, they're
- 27:26Speaker 1: like well, your contractions are twenty minutes apart. Now, I'm like,
- 27:28Speaker 1: how much time has passed? Because whatever? Anyway, I just
- 27:31Speaker 1: thought it was silly min Did you see that? Are?
- 27:35Speaker 1: We hit a lot of them? But back at my
- 27:37Speaker 1: first impression was I thought this was a Miracles of
- 27:40Speaker 1: Christmas movie m HM repackaged for Hamewark only because there
- 27:46Speaker 1: were a lot of like Nativity vibes happening in this movie,
- 27:50Speaker 1: like I saw the light on, we don't have any heat,
- 27:52Speaker 1: it's bad weather, Joseph and Mary looking for sure taking
- 27:59Speaker 1: to their baby anyway, and then and then of course
- 28:02Speaker 1: they sang that song at the end. It just felt
- 28:04Speaker 1: very the tone of it all was Miracles of Christmas
- 28:10Speaker 1: for me.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Well, what did you rate?
- 28:11Speaker 1: The more the merrier? I gave it three point seven
- 28:15Speaker 1: five stars. Oh, I gave it four stars. Thank you
