- 0:09Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? Everyone? Welcome into another episode of
- 0:12Speaker 1: The Checko Daily. It's Andrew de Checko here, Eagles beat
- 0:16Speaker 1: reporter for insidethebirds dot Com. We are a day away
- 0:20Speaker 1: from the NFL Draft. I can't wait, and you might
- 0:24Speaker 1: not be able to hear the excitement in my voice
- 0:25Speaker 1: because I kind of sound the same always. But I
- 0:28Speaker 1: might have to go through my pre draft ritual and
- 0:31Speaker 1: watch Draft Day. But for those who want to hear
- 0:34Speaker 1: my analysis on Draft Day, which would be Thursday, you
- 0:38Speaker 1: can hear me from eight to ten in the morning.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'll be on with Kincaid and Sauchunas on ninety seven
- 0:44Speaker 1: five The Fanatic in Studio, and then from two to
- 0:48Speaker 1: six I'll be on location with Bill kyl Rulo for Unfiltered.
- 0:52Speaker 1: We'll be at the jug Handle in and Sentiments in
- 0:54Speaker 1: New Jersey. From what I hear, there's a lot of giveaways,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and we'll have Tim McManus joining us at ESPN, my
- 1:02Speaker 1: fellow beat writer. He'll be there four to six. I
- 1:05Speaker 1: believe Andrew Southschunis will be joining us, I think for
- 1:09Speaker 1: the first hour. So there's going to be a lot
- 1:11Speaker 1: of good crossover, a lot of great conversations. So come
- 1:14Speaker 1: on out, try the wings because I hear they're phenomenal,
- 1:17Speaker 1: and get in on some good football conversation and say hello.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So today's podcast is going to be a little bit
- 1:24Speaker 1: different because it's more for me now that the Hay
- 1:28Speaker 1: is in the barn. It's kind of going through some
- 1:31Speaker 1: of my Eagles talking points and my musings and things
- 1:34Speaker 1: to keep in mind as you prepare to watch and
- 1:39Speaker 1: consume the NFL Draft Thursday and over the weekend. And
- 1:44Speaker 1: then I also want to get into just some random
- 1:47Speaker 1: musings about the first round and some different prospects where
- 1:50Speaker 1: I could see them fitting and things of that nature.
- 1:53Speaker 1: But it's important to keep in mind that the Eagles
- 1:56Speaker 1: are likely to focus on offense, and that's not breaking news.
- 2:00Speaker 1: That's not something that you the listener probably didn't already know.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But to break things down, there is so much money
- 2:07Speaker 1: that is going to be invested into the defensive side.
- 2:10Speaker 1: There is Jayalen Carter who stands to make a lot
- 2:16Speaker 1: of money. There's Jordan Davis, who they committed to for
- 2:19Speaker 1: another three seasons. There's the Cooper Dejine and QUINNYA. Mitchell
- 2:26Speaker 1: paydays that are looming, and probably more than I'm not
- 2:30Speaker 1: thinking of right now. But it's important to keep that
- 2:33Speaker 1: in mind because that proverbial pendulum does swing, and there's
- 2:38Speaker 1: so much money tied into the offense right now, but
- 2:41Speaker 1: that's going to shift inevitably as the Eagles have to
- 2:44Speaker 1: prepare to pay their defensive cornerstones and then start to
- 2:48Speaker 1: get younger and draft on the offensive side to vote
- 2:51Speaker 1: those resources there. That's not saying it's going to be
- 2:54Speaker 1: predominant or exclusive, I should say to the offense, but
- 2:58Speaker 1: I think you're going to see a heavy shift towards
- 3:01Speaker 1: drafting offensive players to start to build up that side
- 3:04Speaker 1: of the ball and have a lot of cost controlled
- 3:07Speaker 1: options that you're not gonna have to necessarily worry about
- 3:11Speaker 1: while you tend to the defensive side and ensure that
- 3:14Speaker 1: those pieces are locked in for the foreseeable future. And
- 3:18Speaker 1: so yeah, I mean, offensive tackle is not a position
- 3:24Speaker 1: that should be viewed as a red shirt, a throwaway,
- 3:30Speaker 1: a luxury pick, because one, it's a position that the
- 3:34Speaker 1: Eagles prioritize historically, and I think fortifying the trenches are
- 3:39Speaker 1: a big reason as to why the Eagles have been
- 3:41Speaker 1: so successful year over year. There's not a drop off.
- 3:44Speaker 1: They're not ever trying to rebuild one area on that
- 3:48Speaker 1: side of the ball, because they're always looking with They're
- 3:51Speaker 1: always making plans with the future in mind and looking
- 3:53Speaker 1: towards the next year or three, even down the line.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Contracts are important when trying to configure a roster and
- 4:02Speaker 1: look towards the importance of certain positions, and so offensive tackle,
- 4:08Speaker 1: especially where the Eagles are slotted right now at twenty three.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Now do I expect them to stand pat at twenty three?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Probably not, given Howie Roseman's propensity to move around the
- 4:17Speaker 1: board and be aggressive. But let's just pretend that they
- 4:21Speaker 1: stay at twenty three. If all holds true, there should
- 4:26Speaker 1: be a number of offensive tackles that would be appealing seemingly
- 4:31Speaker 1: to the Eagles. So they could have their choice between
- 4:35Speaker 1: a Blake Miller from Clemson, perhaps Cayden Proctor from Alabama,
- 4:39Speaker 1: though I think he may go a tick higher than
- 4:41Speaker 1: twenty three, So if that's a player that the Eagles want,
- 4:44Speaker 1: they may have to trade up a little bit to
- 4:46Speaker 1: get them. I look at the Detroit Lions at pick seventeen,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and to me, that would just be a tailor made fit.
- 4:52Speaker 1: He can play guard, he can play tackle, and you
- 4:56Speaker 1: like the experience that he's coming into the league with,
- 4:59Speaker 1: as well as playing against the premier competition in college football.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Polished product, good athleticism, and tremendous size, so that would
- 5:07Speaker 1: appear to appeal to a number of teams. So the
- 5:11Speaker 1: Eagles aren't going to be the only team that is
- 5:13Speaker 1: interested in Caden Proctor in the neighborhood of where they're picking,
- 5:18Speaker 1: but he'll be available. Then you have Kayleb Blomou from Utah,
- 5:22Speaker 1: a bit of a rawler prospect, and he doesn't always
- 5:26Speaker 1: play with great physicality, which you want your offensive linemen
- 5:32Speaker 1: to play nasty, to play mean and really get after it.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I don't see that often with Kayleb Bloomoo, not often enough,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I think he kind of projects more as a
- 5:40Speaker 1: guard at the next level, just based on skill set
- 5:44Speaker 1: and things like that. Max Ihanachor from Arizona State. It's
- 5:50Speaker 1: a player who I've talked at length about on these podcasts.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It shouldn't be a surprise if he goes in the
- 5:55Speaker 1: first round. I think the run on tackles in the
- 6:00Speaker 1: mid range of the first round could propel him up
- 6:04Speaker 1: the up the draft board. But I think that he
- 6:07Speaker 1: would have been in the first round conversation anyway, given
- 6:10Speaker 1: his immense upside, I think he's just scratching the surface
- 6:14Speaker 1: of what he can do. And the draft isn't about
- 6:17Speaker 1: the hero and now it's about projecting for the future.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And when you do that and you know that, yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: it might be a red shirt season, you don't need
- 6:24Speaker 1: him right away. But his ceiling is immensely high. He
- 6:29Speaker 1: offers tackle and guard versatility. The athleticism is complimented with
- 6:34Speaker 1: his physicality and power that he plays with good movement ability.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I think that when you're looking at the back end
- 6:41Speaker 1: of the first round where the Eagles are sitting, that's
- 6:44Speaker 1: typically where you want to not necessarily play it safe,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and they're not a franchise that plays it safe. If
- 6:49Speaker 1: they were a franchise that played safe, maybe a Blake
- 6:53Speaker 1: Miller from Clemson where he started fifty four games, and
- 6:58Speaker 1: you kind of have an idea of who he is
- 7:00Speaker 1: and what he's ultimately going to be. A solid player
- 7:03Speaker 1: who I think is going to have a long career.
- 7:05Speaker 1: You'd like to say see him play with more physicality
- 7:08Speaker 1: and all that, but he is a polished product and
- 7:13Speaker 1: there's less unknown as to what he will be. That
- 7:19Speaker 1: is you know. I mean maybe a different organization might
- 7:23Speaker 1: might lean that way because there's there's less projecting. But
- 7:27Speaker 1: with someone like Maxie Haunachor and the Eagles knowing how
- 7:31Speaker 1: they like to swing for upside, to me, that would
- 7:34Speaker 1: tip that slightly in in Maxi's favor. But Blake Miller,
- 7:39Speaker 1: I mean, he seems like a like an Eagles kind
- 7:42Speaker 1: of player. And it's also hard to project if you
- 7:45Speaker 1: take a player that has that developmental upside how confident
- 7:50Speaker 1: or I don't even want to say how confident. But
- 7:53Speaker 1: there is a bit of an unknown variable there. When
- 7:55Speaker 1: it comes to offensive line coach Chris Cooper, you don't
- 7:58Speaker 1: exactly know how now he plans on developing players. There's
- 8:02Speaker 1: not an extensive track record there. Whereas with Jeff Stoutlin,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you feel comfortable drafting just about any offensive lineman with
- 8:09Speaker 1: the understanding that he's going to develop them, hone their skills,
- 8:13Speaker 1: and maximize their ability. Not so much with Chris Cooper.
- 8:18Speaker 1: That's a little bit more of an interesting point here
- 8:23Speaker 1: in the draft because if you take someone like a
- 8:25Speaker 1: Blake Miller, there is less honing of the skills. He's
- 8:30Speaker 1: more of a pro ready, plug them and play type
- 8:33Speaker 1: of guy. And I also think when you look at
- 8:37Speaker 1: the Eagles offensive line and the state of it right now,
- 8:40Speaker 1: it would be a little naive to think that Lane
- 8:42Speaker 1: Johnson and or Jordan Mylotta are going to be available
- 8:45Speaker 1: for the full complement of games, which means that one
- 8:48Speaker 1: of these players, whoever you draft in the first round,
- 8:50Speaker 1: presuming it's an offensive tackle, may actually have to play.
- 8:55Speaker 1: So the other question is is how comfortable would the
- 8:57Speaker 1: Eagles be if they had to turn to Maxie Hunter
- 9:00Speaker 1: Schore versus let's say, a Blake Miller. So yeah, I mean,
- 9:05Speaker 1: these are certain questions that I'm fascinated with to see,
- 9:10Speaker 1: we'll learn a lot more about their thought process and
- 9:15Speaker 1: if they take a developmental type of player with intriguing
- 9:19Speaker 1: in tools and the intangibles that you want, that would
- 9:22Speaker 1: tell you a lot about how they view Chris Cooper
- 9:24Speaker 1: and the confidence that they're placing in him to ensure
- 9:28Speaker 1: that he's really maximizing the player's developments. So then you
- 9:34Speaker 1: have Monroe Freeling as well, an offensive tackle from Georgia.
- 9:38Speaker 1: There's so much made about Maxie Hunter Schore and being
- 9:41Speaker 1: new to football and being a relatively raw prospect, and
- 9:44Speaker 1: that's fair, but if we're being real and being completely
- 9:49Speaker 1: honest here, Monroe Freeling is raw and unrefined in his
- 9:54Speaker 1: own right and started, I believe, fifteen games at Georgia
- 9:59Speaker 1: versus the thirty one that Maxi Hunter Schory started. So
- 10:02Speaker 1: there's some questions there as well. And then you also
- 10:07Speaker 1: have to look at the wide receiver position and which
- 10:14Speaker 1: in tangibles and qualities do the Eagles typically look for
- 10:18Speaker 1: in their wide receivers. So I think someone like a
- 10:21Speaker 1: Jordan Tyson from Arizona State. Now I don't view him
- 10:23Speaker 1: as a prospect that would be even within striking distance,
- 10:26Speaker 1: but perhaps the injuries are enough to concern on teams
- 10:31Speaker 1: enough that he maybe tumbles down the board. But let's
- 10:35Speaker 1: look at Omar Cooper Junior, a more realistic option. I
- 10:38Speaker 1: believe that his skill set would be a perfect match
- 10:44Speaker 1: for what I'm expecting the Eagles offense to look like
- 10:47Speaker 1: under new OC Sean Mannion in that you can get
- 10:50Speaker 1: him the ball in space, He's good after the catch,
- 10:54Speaker 1: who'll fight for the ball in traffic, good on the
- 10:57Speaker 1: short to intermediate level, knows how to get open. Those
- 11:00Speaker 1: are the kind of qualities that you're looking for along
- 11:03Speaker 1: with body type. But Omar Cooper junior. You have to
- 11:07Speaker 1: think long and hard about him if he's on the
- 11:09Speaker 1: board at twenty three. But there's players in the second
- 11:12Speaker 1: and third round that I look at what they've done,
- 11:15Speaker 1: their college production, they're how they tested and all that.
- 11:20Speaker 1: And it's hard not to look at wide receiver Chris
- 11:22Speaker 1: Bell from Louisville and not see a player that the
- 11:26Speaker 1: Eagles would not only be able to really grow and develop,
- 11:34Speaker 1: but also someone who would thrive in this type of
- 11:36Speaker 1: an offense. And he does remind me a lot of
- 11:38Speaker 1: aj Brown with his body type and compact build, for one,
- 11:43Speaker 1: but also the physicality in which he plays the position,
- 11:47Speaker 1: the ability to take a football on a crosser or
- 11:52Speaker 1: in the intermediate level and run after the catch with
- 11:56Speaker 1: almost with a like you're a bowl and the defenders
- 12:01Speaker 1: are the pins. I mean, what he's able to do
- 12:06Speaker 1: not only from an athletics standpoint, but also from a
- 12:08Speaker 1: physicality standpoint. He'll go up there and win in those
- 12:12Speaker 1: fifty to fifty balls and all that. That's what you
- 12:14Speaker 1: want to see. And for me, he has that alpha
- 12:19Speaker 1: demeanor when he's on the field, and you can see
- 12:21Speaker 1: that he wants the football and critical moments he did
- 12:25Speaker 1: have the aco injury as I've outlined, so the timeline
- 12:29Speaker 1: there is a little uncertain as to when he would
- 12:31Speaker 1: be back on the field, but that that's a player
- 12:35Speaker 1: that you have to consider at fifty four if he's available,
- 12:38Speaker 1: strikes me as a quintessential Eagles wide receiver. Antonio Williams
- 12:46Speaker 1: from Clemson is another player who to me looks like
- 12:51Speaker 1: an Eagles type of wide receiver. And when you look
- 12:55Speaker 1: at what I mean, he's not the biggest guy in
- 12:57Speaker 1: the world, he does offer inside outside versatility, which you
- 13:02Speaker 1: love if you're the Eagles. Has good speed, strong hands,
- 13:06Speaker 1: is good at moving the chains. Not necessarily an overly
- 13:11Speaker 1: flashy player, but one that I think is you know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: probably best as a slot receiver based on just his frame,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but it's the explosiveness, short area quickness, ability to to
- 13:26Speaker 1: work corners and use leverage. You know, you look at
- 13:30Speaker 1: his size, five to eleven and a half wint eighty
- 13:32Speaker 1: seven run the forty and a four to four to
- 13:36Speaker 1: one at the NFL scouting combine good footwork. I like
- 13:40Speaker 1: his route running ability. Like I said, not the biggest
- 13:44Speaker 1: guy in the world, but the body control and he
- 13:48Speaker 1: also can give you some special teams upside as a
- 13:51Speaker 1: punt returner. You have to look at qualities that the
- 13:55Speaker 1: Eagles typically look for in their players and that who
- 13:59Speaker 1: would be a match. Ted Hurst from Georgia State is
- 14:02Speaker 1: another one. When you look at the Packers wide receiving corps,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you had your Matthew Golden, different type of different body type,
- 14:11Speaker 1: Jayden Reed, different body type. You had your Christian Watson, though,
- 14:15Speaker 1: who was more of a bigger bodied wide receiver, can
- 14:19Speaker 1: run long, strider and can get vertical and really affect
- 14:23Speaker 1: teams that way. Well, assuming AJ Brown won't be on
- 14:28Speaker 1: the Eagles. Ted Hurst from Georgia State at six four
- 14:31Speaker 1: to two oh six four to four speed, and like
- 14:35Speaker 1: Christian Watson, was a little bit more of a I
- 14:38Speaker 1: don't want to say project, but perhaps a little bit
- 14:42Speaker 1: more unrefined. But you can see the ability and then
- 14:45Speaker 1: it becomes incumbent upon wide receivers. Coach Iron moorehead in
- 14:49Speaker 1: this case to maximize the player's talent there. But yes,
- 14:54Speaker 1: I mean those are three receivers right there that fit
- 14:57Speaker 1: the mold of what the Eagles typically cut. But in
- 15:01Speaker 1: the position, and that's important to note. I think there's
- 15:04Speaker 1: a lot of value there on day two when it
- 15:05Speaker 1: comes to wide receivers. So it's it's something to certainly
- 15:09Speaker 1: keep an eye on tight end. If Kenyon Sadik somehow
- 15:15Speaker 1: gets past the Carolina Panthers at nineteen, well, nineteen I
- 15:20Speaker 1: sort of have highlighted as the latest that I envisioned
- 15:23Speaker 1: Kenyon Sadiq going just based off of how the board
- 15:28Speaker 1: could particular, how the players on the board could particularly
- 15:31Speaker 1: come off the board, And I'm trying to sort of project,
- 15:35Speaker 1: and you know, you look at the tamp Bay Buccaneers.
- 15:38Speaker 1: They have Kate Otten. You look at the Detroit Lions
- 15:42Speaker 1: at seventeen, they have Sam Laporta. There's the Minnesota Vikings
- 15:49Speaker 1: at eighteen, TJ Hockinson. Maybe they would be in play.
- 15:52Speaker 1: But the Carolina Panthers, knowing that Bryce Young is still
- 15:55Speaker 1: in his rookie deal, they have Tech McMillan. Of course,
- 15:59Speaker 1: they have jaywen Coker, Xavier Leggett. They still need to
- 16:03Speaker 1: add another playmaker on the offensive side because their defenses
- 16:08Speaker 1: is really rounding in the form. But when you watch
- 16:10Speaker 1: that postseason game, it looked like Bryce Young could have
- 16:13Speaker 1: used another weapon. It would behoove the Carolina Panthers to
- 16:19Speaker 1: run to the podium if Kenyon Sidik's there, but the
- 16:21Speaker 1: Eagles are so enamored with the prospects of Sadik and
- 16:25Speaker 1: what he could potentially become at the next level, then
- 16:28Speaker 1: I think nineteen should be the spot where you're looking
- 16:32Speaker 1: at it and saying we have to get there or
- 16:34Speaker 1: or above the Carolina Panthers. If you think that there
- 16:37Speaker 1: is a big enough discrepancy between Kenyon Sadik and let's
- 16:41Speaker 1: say an Eli Stowers, or if you think Kenyon Sadik
- 16:46Speaker 1: can heavily contribute in helping the Eagles offset the loss
- 16:50Speaker 1: of AJ Brown, which if you look at their receiving corps,
- 16:55Speaker 1: Dontavian Wicks, DeVante Smith, Hollywood Brown, you have Dallas Godder.
- 17:02Speaker 1: If you add a top level tight end like a
- 17:05Speaker 1: Kenyon Cidik, all of a sudden, maybe you're able to
- 17:07Speaker 1: distribute the ball enough which was pretty much standard practice
- 17:12Speaker 1: for the Green Bay Packers, that maybe you have enough
- 17:14Speaker 1: there to offset the loss of an A. J. Brown.
- 17:18Speaker 1: If you think that Kenyon cid can step in and
- 17:21Speaker 1: be an a media contributor and really provide matchup nightmares
- 17:25Speaker 1: for defenses, and you have a plan and you feel
- 17:28Speaker 1: really confident in the player, that would be the place
- 17:32Speaker 1: where I think you would have to get to in
- 17:34Speaker 1: order to do that. Eli Stowers, to me, would be
- 17:39Speaker 1: a really good pick for the Eagles at fifty four
- 17:41Speaker 1: if they choose to hold and wait. But he doesn't
- 17:45Speaker 1: have the blocking prowess, But you don't pass up a
- 17:49Speaker 1: dynamic receiving presence who can move around formations and you
- 17:53Speaker 1: can get really creative and how you get him involved.
- 17:56Speaker 1: It's not going to be an inline blocker, but what
- 17:58Speaker 1: he can do is be that athletic move tight end,
- 18:01Speaker 1: kind of like an Evan Ingram. But I believe that
- 18:03Speaker 1: Eli Stowers has so much more room to grow as
- 18:07Speaker 1: he's still new to the position. But it doesn't reflect
- 18:11Speaker 1: that doesn't reflect in his route running. He's a pretty
- 18:14Speaker 1: polished route runner, and I've outlined why his quarterback background.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But he has good ball skills. He can be a
- 18:21Speaker 1: three level thread, he can stretch teams vertically. Those are
- 18:24Speaker 1: the kind of players that can help offset the loss
- 18:28Speaker 1: of an AJ Brown. Because I do think Eli Stowers
- 18:30Speaker 1: will be an early impact player. I don't know that
- 18:33Speaker 1: the learning curve will be especially steep for him. Maybe
- 18:36Speaker 1: the blocking elements, but the receiving prowess I think is
- 18:40Speaker 1: going to really manifest early. Then you have to look
- 18:45Speaker 1: at some some different players on the offense in terms
- 18:50Speaker 1: of the offensive line. If you don't get your tackle
- 18:52Speaker 1: early for whatever reason, well then you're maybe looking at
- 18:56Speaker 1: a Travis Burke from Memphis or a Jude Bowery wait
- 19:00Speaker 1: on day three from Boston College, a player who gives
- 19:04Speaker 1: you some versatility on the offensive line. Jude Bowery is
- 19:09Speaker 1: a player that the Eagles have shown interest in. Markel
- 19:14Speaker 1: Bell from Miami. If you wait in the third round,
- 19:17Speaker 1: he would be a really good offensive tackle to take.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Markel Bell and Travis Burke are two of my favorite
- 19:23Speaker 1: players there. They also need to start thinking about guard
- 19:27Speaker 1: and life after Landon Dickerson. There's a lot of uncertainty
- 19:30Speaker 1: there as to the short and long term future for
- 19:35Speaker 1: Landon Dickerson. He's been often injured. The Eagles don't have
- 19:38Speaker 1: a lot of depth there at all as it pertains
- 19:41Speaker 1: to reserve interior offensive line. And so you look at
- 19:46Speaker 1: Pistoni's Chase Pistonas from Texas A and m He's probably
- 19:49Speaker 1: a late first round guy. You might be able to
- 19:51Speaker 1: trade down if you like him enough and get some
- 19:54Speaker 1: value there. Uh vega Ione from Penn State is the
- 19:58Speaker 1: cream of the crop in this class. I think he
- 20:01Speaker 1: has pro bowl and all probability. But I mean I
- 20:05Speaker 1: look at a lot of teams in the middle of
- 20:08Speaker 1: the first round. I think the Ravens, even at fourteen,
- 20:12Speaker 1: he just strikes me as a Baltimore Ravens type of player,
- 20:15Speaker 1: just a rogue grader, a physically imposing maler that should
- 20:19Speaker 1: be able to really establish himself early. But he would
- 20:26Speaker 1: be the top on the board if he's anywhere within
- 20:29Speaker 1: striking distance. I mean that would be I don't think
- 20:32Speaker 1: you need to twist my arm if I'm Howie Roseman
- 20:35Speaker 1: to bring him into the fold. You have Caleb Tiernan
- 20:38Speaker 1: in the second round, so he would be more along
- 20:40Speaker 1: the line to pick fifty four if you wanted to
- 20:43Speaker 1: try and get some more guard help, because you look
- 20:46Speaker 1: at what he can do, and he's a tackle by
- 20:49Speaker 1: trade six foot eight but thirty two and some change
- 20:53Speaker 1: inch arms, which is really abnormal for someone that tall.
- 20:59Speaker 1: I think he projects more as a guard at the
- 21:01Speaker 1: next level and so, and he's played, you know, he
- 21:07Speaker 1: has versatility and things like that, So if you want
- 21:10Speaker 1: to get a guard there. Kielan Rutledge is another player
- 21:15Speaker 1: that should garner some consideration in the second round. He
- 21:20Speaker 1: may be gone by fifty four, but that's another player
- 21:22Speaker 1: that he said it, you forget it. You put him
- 21:26Speaker 1: in there, and I think you feel really good about
- 21:30Speaker 1: that for the long term view of the team.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,
- 21:38Speaker 2: long lines, We've all been there, But when it comes
- 21:41Speaker 2: to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is
- 21:46Speaker 2: the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly,
- 21:50Speaker 2: with plenty of free parking.
- 21:51Speaker 1: You'll be in and out.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Fast, no hassle, no waiting, and they don't just care
- 21:56Speaker 2: about convenience. Camden Apothecary is all about the guests experience.

- 22:04Speaker 2: time you walk in. Plus, they carry only the best
- 22:07Speaker 2: quality cannabis at the fairest prices, so whether you're stocking

- 22:19Speaker 2: They even show love to the community with specials for fans, students,
- 22:24Speaker 2: service members, and healthcare pros. Canned in Apothecary top quality cannabis,
- 22:29Speaker 2: great prices and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 22:32Speaker 2: one and up.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Then you have I already mentioned bistonis from Texas a
- 22:38Speaker 1: and m Emmanuel pregnant from Oregon. He would be a
- 22:46Speaker 1: really good fit for the expected schematic changes up front
- 22:50Speaker 1: in the run game, especially under Sean Mannion. So there's
- 22:54Speaker 1: a lot of options there, but guard would be the move.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I think they need to address that just tackle. They
- 23:01Speaker 1: don't have a lot there. You have Drew Kendall, He's
- 23:04Speaker 1: really a center, could play guard in a pinch if
- 23:07Speaker 1: you needed him to, But they lacked for young developmental
- 23:11Speaker 1: pure interior offensive line depth aside from him, and I
- 23:16Speaker 1: don't know that you want to wait too long for that.
- 23:18Speaker 1: A player that we didn't talk about all that much
- 23:20Speaker 1: on this podcast that might be worth sort of stashing,
- 23:24Speaker 1: you know. Filing away is Keldrick Falk, the edge rusher
- 23:28Speaker 1: from Auburn. So Keldrick Falk immense size, six ft six,
- 23:32Speaker 1: two hundred and seventy six pounds. You like the length
- 23:35Speaker 1: by all counts. He has a very high character young
- 23:38Speaker 1: he's twenty one years old, but he didn't have a
- 23:41Speaker 1: lot of production in college for perspective. He had ten
- 23:44Speaker 1: sacks in total just to last year. But you look
- 23:49Speaker 1: at his scheme, versatility and what Vic Vango could potentially
- 23:56Speaker 1: how he could deploy him with the U and the
- 24:02Speaker 1: still developing traits. This is a power player that has
- 24:08Speaker 1: really good hand usage and good tools. Howie Roseman often
- 24:13Speaker 1: talks about whenever referencing a player, you know the tools
- 24:16Speaker 1: in their body. Well, he certainly has that. I have
- 24:19Speaker 1: a hard time projecting where he will come off the
- 24:21Speaker 1: board because I'm not overly enthused with the edge rushers
- 24:26Speaker 1: after David Bailey, rbl Reese, and Ruben Bain. Then you
- 24:33Speaker 1: have your conglomerate there of TJ. Parker, Keldrick Falk. A
- 24:37Speaker 1: key Message or Keldrick Falk would be my preference of
- 24:41Speaker 1: those three, to be clear, But I don't know that
- 24:43Speaker 1: I view him as a top twenty three player, let's say.
- 24:50Speaker 1: But it's hard to project where and how he'll fit
- 24:53Speaker 1: into a defense. So had we had a hard time
- 24:56Speaker 1: slotting him. I think we gave him to the Bears
- 24:58Speaker 1: at twenty five, but we had a hard time when
- 25:00Speaker 1: we did our first round mock draft figuring out a
- 25:03Speaker 1: landing spot for him because it's not a dominant edge
- 25:07Speaker 1: class once you get past the high end talent at
- 25:11Speaker 1: the top of it, so it's a little bit tricky,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and then you have to look at the Day two
- 25:15Speaker 1: guys gave jackis MILINOI is a player that I like
- 25:19Speaker 1: a lot, denied Dennis Sutton from Penn State. I'm not
- 25:24Speaker 1: quite as high on him as he as far as
- 25:29Speaker 1: where he may go in the draft. Keyron Crawford from
- 25:32Speaker 1: Auburn is you know, he was the bookend to Keldric
- 25:36Speaker 1: Faulk there more productive as well, So you might be
- 25:40Speaker 1: able to get an edge rusher in Day two that
- 25:43Speaker 1: might give you comparable production, or at least it's not
- 25:49Speaker 1: going to be such a stark contrast. I think the
- 25:51Speaker 1: value there is very clear to me. I believe it's
- 25:54Speaker 1: off offensive tackle because beyond that you're seeing a lot
- 25:59Speaker 1: of players that aren't necessarily they're going to be a
- 26:02Speaker 1: first round pick by title, But in all actuality, there's
- 26:07Speaker 1: not a ton of true first round grades that I
- 26:10Speaker 1: have on a lot of these players. So it was
- 26:13Speaker 1: it was very tough to once you get past twelve, eleven, thirteen,
- 26:19Speaker 1: then the positional value seems to go out the window
- 26:22Speaker 1: a little bit. You just take the you know, you
- 26:25Speaker 1: take the best player, even if it is a safety
- 26:28Speaker 1: like a Caleb Downs or a Dylan Thenaman. And speaking
- 26:30Speaker 1: of Dylan Theenaman from Oregon, I look at the Cowboys
- 26:34Speaker 1: at twelve. They need a lot of help on the
- 26:37Speaker 1: defensive side. Caleb Downs is sure to go before that.
- 26:40Speaker 1: I would imagine you could see, you know, it's not
- 26:45Speaker 1: out of the realm with possibility to see two safeties
- 26:48Speaker 1: go within the top twelve, which it kind of illustrates
- 26:52Speaker 1: how this draft could shake out. It's kind of unconventional
- 26:56Speaker 1: in that way. But yeah, you look at a lot
- 26:59Speaker 1: of these players and trying to find some fits has
- 27:03Speaker 1: been one of the more fascinating exercises that I've done
- 27:07Speaker 1: during the pre draft cycle. I think Chris Johnson would
- 27:11Speaker 1: fit with the Miami Dolphins at thirty. I think he
- 27:13Speaker 1: would fit with the Seattle Seahawks at thirty two, maybe
- 27:16Speaker 1: even the Dallas Cowboys at twenty. As Christian Parker looks
- 27:20Speaker 1: that get players in there to help reinvigorate and repair
- 27:27Speaker 1: a defense that leaked like a sieve. So those are
- 27:32Speaker 1: just some of my thoughts. The day before the NFL Draft,
- 27:36Speaker 1: I was running through a lot of prospects off the
- 27:38Speaker 1: top of my head there, and that's kind of the
- 27:40Speaker 1: way that I see it. Keep in mind that there's
- 27:42Speaker 1: going to be it's likely that offense will be at
- 27:46Speaker 1: the forefront here. Then I'll add this before we wrap
- 27:49Speaker 1: things up. The quarterback position. The Eagles are the quarterback factory. Yes,
- 27:55Speaker 1: they have Oe eight picks, but I look at someone
- 27:57Speaker 1: like a Garrett Nusmyer, and perhaps the recent news of
- 28:02Speaker 1: what he was dealing with last season injury wise, maybe
- 28:04Speaker 1: that knocks him a little bit down the board. I
- 28:06Speaker 1: think if he's there in the fourth round, that might
- 28:10Speaker 1: be a little enticing. And I understand that you have
- 28:12Speaker 1: Andy Dalton, you have your three quarterbacks, so that would
- 28:15Speaker 1: almost be a luxury. But if you believe in the
- 28:17Speaker 1: player and you think that he can be that cost
- 28:20Speaker 1: control backup for the future, and you see some value
- 28:25Speaker 1: there and you can get something maybe for tenor McKee.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I mean, the Eagles aren't dubbed the quarterback factory for
- 28:31Speaker 1: no reason. So I don't even know that just because
- 28:34Speaker 1: they have eight picks, and I don't believe it they'll
- 28:36Speaker 1: finish with making oea picks. I mean that you can't
- 28:40Speaker 1: take quarterback out of the equation here. So I'm really
- 28:46Speaker 1: interested to see, even though it's not a strong quarterback class,
- 28:49Speaker 1: if there's a young guy on Day three, maybe a
- 28:53Speaker 1: Cole Payton from North Dakota State, that you feel good
- 28:56Speaker 1: about or you have sort of projected what they can
- 29:00Speaker 1: become and you like how they would fit in as
- 29:04Speaker 1: a backup, then maybe you maybe you make the pick.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So a lot that's kind of running through my mind
- 29:12Speaker 1: right now as we turn our attention towards the first
- 29:16Speaker 1: day of the NFL Draft, but just some of my
- 29:20Speaker 1: thoughts and my notes as I was sort of going
- 29:24Speaker 1: through the final stages of my preparation here. But that's
- 29:28Speaker 1: going to do it for this episode of The Checko Daily.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'm Andrew Decheco and we'll catch you all on the
- 29:33Speaker 1: next one.
