- 0:15Everything is going to hell down here in Dactaiday. Now, Yeah, what
- 1:07is up? Everybody? Welcome to the show in this episode two hundred and
- 1:11thirty one, a balloon gumming podcast, and I am your host, Big
- 1:15Bad Bob otherwise known as Rob Clark, here with you today. A damn
- 1:23levels All right, what's up? It feels good to be back in the
- 1:30saddle again, and just some real real talk before we start. Opening this
- 1:37episode here entitled Dissent into Madness, The mostly true story of a first generation
- 1:48researcher's downfall. You know, obsession is never really a good thing, be
- 1:59it with people, or ideas or material items, these things can often lead
- 2:08to a very bad situation. And like with anything else, there have been
- 2:16many many folks over the years who have become obsessed with trying to solve this
- 2:24case, to be that person that finally puts all the puzzle pieces together and
- 2:35truly solves the case. Many people that many great people have met their maker
- 2:49before seeing this dream become a reality. And I'm no different. I'll probably
- 2:57be six feet in the ground before or was your anything else now? But
- 3:04again, with anything else, obsession and ruin your life, not only your
- 3:16personal life, your private life, your work life, your reputation, becoming
- 3:28paranoid, becoming aggressive, becoming obscene, and seriously mar one's character and reputation
- 3:49in this world among their peers and their family and their friends. And like
- 3:54I said, it's never a good thing, never, And it has affected
- 4:00many people in different in different lines of research, you know, and I'm
- 4:05not just talking about JFK research, you know, nine to eleven research,
- 4:14the Oklahoma City bombing, just about anything that people looked into. There's been
- 4:18certain individuals who have become obsessed with the facts of the case and trying to
- 4:25figure it out, becoming a nuisance, just doing all kinds of crazy,
- 4:35crazy stuff along the way. And today we're going to be looking at the
- 4:42tale. And I've mentioned them on this show before regarding something else, but
- 4:50never really fully dived into his entire story, which we're going to do today.
- 4:58And it's about a man, a researcher, a first generation researcher named
- 5:03Ted Gandolpho. Now you probably haven't heard about Ted Gandolpho. He didn't really
- 5:15what he did write a book, but it was mainly a compilation of newsletters
- 5:23and in the seventies during the HSCA investigation. He became really obsessed with the
- 5:32FBI, the CIA, and Robert Blakey in particular about not investigating the case
- 5:43thoroughly. And like like I said, he was a very interesting individual.
- 5:53And the earliest that I can endpoint Ted Kandolpho's were a into the Kennedy assassination
- 6:08is in mid nineteen sixty seven, and apparently he was at work doing things
- 6:21interested in the assassination of his own going back to November of nineteen sixty six.
- 6:30And but we'll get to that. So in nineteen sixty seven, he
- 6:38sends out a newsletter to some very prominent first generation researchers. It's the title
- 6:51to Search for the Truth, and it says a recent survey shows that sixty
- 6:57seven percent of the American people do not accept the conclusions of the war in
- 7:02report that Lee Harvey Oswald, acting alone, killed President John F. Kennedy.
- 7:11President Johnson has placed all of the evidence, including the X rays and
- 7:15the photographs, in the National Archives in Washington, telling us that we the
- 7:20citizens of this country, cannot see this vital information until the year twenty thirty
- 7:27five. Ridiculous. This is a democracy, and in the democracy the people
- 7:34make the decisions. In a democracy, we have the right, Tono.
- 7:41We can demand the president open up the files and let us know what really
- 7:46happened on November twenty, nineteen sixty three. We can demand that our Congress
- 7:53passed legislation so that we can find out who killed our president and why he
- 7:58was killed. I loved my late president and the things he stood for.
- 8:03That is why I have undertaken this project alone and unaided by anyone or any
- 8:09group. At my own expense. I have had these circulars printed. I
- 8:15prefer it this way. All I desire is to get as many names as
- 8:18possible and bring them personally to Washington in petition like forms. So please don't
- 8:26throw these circulars away, but pass them on to your friends. Please please
- 8:31help me in this effort for the truthful evidence in this case by sending me
- 8:37your name. Although I will never communicate with you in any way, you
- 8:43have my heartfelt things beforehand. Thank you, fellow Americans, Sincerely, Head
- 8:50Dandolpho. Okay, now he says he will never responded in any way with
- 9:01people that answer this letter, if you want to call it that more like
- 9:09a statement or such. The closed with Harold Wiseberg's copy of this circular as
- 9:18a handwritten letter dated September seventeenth, nineteen sixty seven. Dear mister Wiseberg,
- 9:26I received your book in your letter, thank you, and your letter you
- 9:31asked for a clipping of ranking statement in which he stated that it would be
- 9:35enough if the commission could prove when only two shots were fired. He said
- 9:41that he made that statement in the New York Times about Christmas of sixty four.
- 9:46Looking around through my organized and chronologically listed slippings and documents, I was
- 9:52unable to locate that one. And he goes one for a couple page,
- 10:01and it's of course handwritten, which I hate trying to fucking read on the
- 10:07air. So we will skip to the end where he also includes partial listing
- 10:16of tape recordings. Now, everybody's got a knee in the Kennedy assassination and
- 10:24Ted Gandolpho's niche was audio and video recordings, Okay, mostly audio, and
- 10:35of course this was a big thing back then. And he has a listing
- 10:43here, and I won't read all of them, but i'll give you an
- 10:48idea of what's going on here. So from November twenty two, sixty three,
- 10:56he's got from CBS EV Walter ron Kite and others in New York and
- 11:01Dallas. Hexa's report, bulletins and first news of assassination attempt to President Kennedy
- 11:07out of Dallas. Very important hate two hours Excuse Me, November nineteen sixty
- 11:16six from Channel five wny W TV special The Warren Commissioned Pro and Con featuring
- 11:26Mark Lane, Edward Epstein, Wesley Leiebler, Richard Rover, Burt Griffith plus
- 11:33a moderator. Two hours November twelve, sixty six, Channel five w any
- 11:41WTV special JFK Assassination A Minority Report featuring Harold Wiseberg, Mark Lane, Rio
- 11:50Savage and Jones, Jacob Cohen and Jim Bishop as a moderator. Three hours
- 12:00November twenty six, nineteen sixty six, The Alan Burke Show w n W
- 12:03Channel five, Mark Lane is a guest. December nineteen sixty six, Alan
- 12:09Burke Show, w n e W Channel five, Marguerite Oswald as a guest
- 12:16two hours. Man. I wish we had some of this stuff still around
- 12:22today that somebody could digitize, But he goes through a lot of this stuff.
- 12:28He's even got through July fifteen, sixty sixty seven listed on here.
- 12:37For example, June twenty six, nineteen sixty seven, William Gurviche Garrison's investigator
- 12:46Quit Staff, CBS TV News. Gervage tells his reasons June twenty six,
- 12:56sixty seven WMCA Radio Barry Gray hosts Mark Lane, Emilio D'Antonio, emil d'
- 13:01antonio, Stanley rebrint An attorney Joseph Lowenthal two hours. So this is the
- 13:11kind of thing that our boy, Tay Gandolpho was into you back in the
- 13:18day. As a first generation researcher Onetember twentieth, nineteen sixty seventy, Harold
- 13:28Wiseberg decides to write mister Gandolpho back many thanks for the time and trouble in
- 13:35locating the ranking quote. Sorry you haven't found it after all this time.
- 13:41It is possible my recollection is unclear, but on this activist because this having
- 13:45made the statement and might having seen it in the times, I am certain
- 13:48he said it. Your listing of tapes is promising. Looking in your files
- 13:54of organized clippings may be very valuable. I hope you preserve them intact.
- 14:01Perhaps someday they can become part of an archive. I will remember your invitation,
- 14:09for which I'm very very grateful, and possibly sometime I can accept it.
- 14:15What I'd like to do sometime when I have to stay overnight in New
- 14:18York has visit you that night and see what you have. Mark Lane has
- 14:24left the New York area where he will make his permanent residence. I don't
- 14:28know. I heard he was going to teach and Stanford, and then he
- 14:33was going to go to New Orleans for the duration of the trial. You
- 14:37have a number of tapes that I do not. I'm glad to know what
- 14:41you do have. When your flyer may ask heggested it not. It's nice
- 14:46to say that everything in the archives is denied everyone, but now I'm confident
- 14:52that more than a half of its material is accessible to qualify researchers. Many
- 14:56thanks for your efforts, I think also to your wife. Keep up the
- 15:01good work. Sincerely, Harold Wiseberg. So that is in nineteen sixty seven,
- 15:07Volks. Now in the ensuing years, mister jimdalso is a very tenacious
- 15:13and aggressive proponent of the truth. He he works his way onto was It
- 15:28Public Access TV, where he has his own TV show where he tries to
- 15:33get guests on there and to interview them. He submits articles to a ton
- 15:41of countrywide news magazines, including one that was published in the The New Yorker.
- 15:54Actually, and he also appoints himself as chairman of the Assassination Information Committee,
- 16:04located on First Avenue in New York, New York. So, like
- 16:11I said, he's a very tenacious guy. He creates a committee to look
- 16:15into the assassination, He creates a lobic access TV show, He buys time
- 16:22on radio shows. He is very into news clippings and audio recordings, and
- 16:33in later years, once you know, technology is called up video recordings.
- 16:44So this article that he writes from the New Yorkers, his entitled Tapes just
- 16:48proved the war In report, and he says the war In reports conclusion that
- 16:57Lee Harvey Oswald was the soulless ass and of President Kennedy was the result of
- 17:03a blatant misre misrepresentation of the known facts, evidence, and until recently suppressed
- 17:08commission documents themselves. According to the earliest TV accounts from Dallas, which were
- 17:15truthful ones from an unseen reporter, or commission's conclusions subsequently reached or no serious
- 17:22relationship to what actually occurred, on November twenty Seco nineteen sixty three. What
- 17:29follows is a small sampling of chronological verbatim accounts of media reportage derived from the
- 17:37actual NBCTV tapes. In my position, speakers through here and points out a
- 17:48couple of things which we're not going to hit them all, but just for
- 17:53example, three h nine pm, Mary Mormon star to take the picture as
- 18:00the president became right even with us. Three shots. We looked at him
- 18:06and he was looking at the middle of the street. Three shots rang out,
- 18:10and he grabbed his chest and a look of pain on his face and
- 18:12fell across towards Jackie and she said, my god, he's shot. And
- 18:18there was an interval and then three or more shot. Three or four more
- 18:22shots rang out. Question by reporter, did you see the person who fired
- 18:26the shots? Answered no, I didn't see any person fire the weapon.
- 18:30You only heard it, Yeah, I only heard it. And I looked
- 18:33up and saw a man running along the top of the hill. And this
- 18:38was Gene Hill statement to a Dallas reporter at three z nine pm. And
- 18:45it just goes through a bunch of stuff or once again, I believe this
- 18:52is the actions of an over zealous researcher. He goes through in states and
- 19:03points and says that action we do not recommend the discussion of the assassination question
- 19:11be initiated where it is not already taken place. A to discuss the publicity
- 19:17problem with liaison and friendly elite contacts, especially politicians and editors, be to
- 19:22employ propaganda assets to answer and refute the attacks of the critics, book reviews,
- 19:27and feature articles. Our purpose. There is more to this document,
- 19:37but the above portion is an indication of the phenomenal power play by the CIA
- 19:41to rebut honest valid questions of like provably false and fraudulent Warren report. I'm
- 19:49of the firm convicted conviction that this country will remain a nation of buying for
- 19:55our people, as our heritage so proudly proclaims. If and only if we
- 20:00find out finally the truth about it who killed John and Bobby Kennedy and Martin
- 20:03Luther King Jr. Then and only then can we be successful in the prevention
- 20:08of future assassinations of the great political leaders of our times. Only then can
- 20:14we truly be free. And this is from July ninth, nineteen seventy seven.
- 20:21Of course, now companying this argle in the files of mister Harold Weisberg
- 20:37is what qualifies in my eyes as a looney cuckoo letter to Robert Blakey.
- 20:53Yeah, I have an important opening statement to make, Bob, to you
- 21:00and all your listeners. It will be the most important statement I've ever made
- 21:04in more than three hundred radio and TV shows I've done in the last three
- 21:07years, and it relates to questions which go to the heart of the functioning
- 21:11of this government. In specific terms, that is a question of whether or
- 21:15not the people of this country will finally be granted their right to know the
- 21:19truth about the assassination of John F. Kennedy on assassinations which has absolutely convinced
- 21:32Committee investigators of a definite conspiracy. This evidence includes tape recordings of conspiratorial meetings
- 21:38in New Orleans, a confession from one of the participants of these meetings as
- 21:45an accessory on tape hours, dates places trips that trips to Dallas in preparation
- 21:51for the murder, absolute verification and corroboration maps specifying the firing zones, photographs
- 21:57of participants in Dallas, US. On November twenty, nineteen sixty three,
- 22:03the House Committee has already conducted neutron activation and spectrographic analysis and the bullet fragments
- 22:08in the JFK case, and those tests proved beyond a question that more than
- 22:14one rifle was fired the President. Because of this and much more conclusive evidence
- 22:18of conspiracy, Committee investigators have begun to rebel against the Chief Council Robert Blakey,
- 22:26who has and will continue to suppress all of this conclusive evidence because you
- 22:30have dedicated to securing a position I opened the Criminal Division of the Justice Department,
- 22:36a position which was mentioned two months ago into Washington Post. The Committee
- 22:41investigators that want to come forward with this information and evidence, but they are
- 22:45not allowed to do so because they were all forced to sign non disclosure agreements
- 22:51which prohibit them for life from disclosing any information they secure, under penalty of
- 22:56being fined five thousand dollars and sent to prison if they disclose it. Blake
- 23:03has already recently fired to Committee investigators Robert Learner and Donovan Gay because they've descended
- 23:11and rebelled with Blakey's suppressions and cover up of the overwhelming conspiracy evidence they had
- 23:15seen. Blakey is covering up this evidence, and he must not be allowed
- 23:22to do it. We, my fellow private researchers, and I are asking,
- 23:27in fact pleading with everyone within the sound of our voices, to write
- 23:33or cable Graham or telegram the chairman of the House Committee, Congressman Louise Stokes,
- 23:38or to me and I'll see to it they reach him immediately. I
- 23:42am demanding this atrocious nondisclosure agreement be abolished. Of the people this country will
- 23:48be granted their right to see and hear all of the evidence of the conspiracies
- 23:52and the JFK and King assassinations, and to insist in demand the Chief Council
- 23:57of Robert Blakey be fired immediately by that committee. And this letter was sent
- 24:03to Louis Stokes, who was the Chairman of the Household Committee on Assassinations.
- 24:10So yeah, here we go, folks. Gandolphin was very vocal during and
- 24:23after the HSCA investigation that Blinky was corrupt and suppressing evidence, and claimed that
- 24:32he had proof of this in the form of audio tapes, confessions and real
- 24:42evidence. So the fast forward a couple of years, and you want to
- 24:52know how to get on the well if they had one back then, the
- 24:56no Fly list, the pay we're gonna watch now list. So we'll just
- 25:02send a crazy letter to the President of the United States. October eighteenth,
- 25:11nineteen eighty two. Mister Ronald Reagan, President of the United States, Dear
- 25:18mister President, I'm sending you this letter and the hope that the grave miscarriage
- 25:25of justice may yet be rectified. It involves the fact that very crucial evidence
- 25:30and information relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy has been and
- 25:34definitely was entirely suppressed and covered up by HSCA in general and by their Chief
- 25:41Council Robert Blakey in particular. I will refer to just one of many items
- 25:48of evidence in this regard. On February eleventh, nineteen seventy eight, I
- 25:52had a long conversation with former New Orleans District Attorney now Judge Jimmy Garrison.
- 25:59During our converse station, which I tape recorded, he told me that the
- 26:02House Select Committee had sent a team of investigators, headed by mister Cliftston to
- 26:07mister Garrison's office to secure the evidence that Garrison had accumulated during his investigation of
- 26:12the jfk assassination. Garrison told me that as a result of the committee's investigators
- 26:19viewing and hearing this evidence, that they were all convinced of a massive conspiracy
- 26:25to murder JFK. Garrison also told me that these investigators also obtained from New
- 26:30Orleans and also Clinton tape recordings in which the assassination of JFK were being discussed
- 26:37by, among others, voices which were identified as being contract employees of the
- 26:41Central Intelligence Agency, and on these tapes they were discussing how they were going
- 26:47to assassinate President Kennedy in Dallas on November twenty second, nineteen sixty three.
- 26:53This evidence was completely suppressed in the House final Report, and in fact,
- 26:59mister Garrison was not even called to testify before the committee at all. I'm
- 27:03certain you will agree that this matter should be immediately brought to the attention of
- 27:07the Justice Department so they may conduct a full investigation into the most this most
- 27:14important suppressed information and evidence, so that the interest of truth, honor,
- 27:19and justice may fully be served. I will be only too happy to send
- 27:25you a copy of this most important conversation between mister Garrison and myself. Therefore,
- 27:30I implore you, sir, to write to me as soon as possible
- 27:33regarding the above information, which I trust you'll agree with me, is of
- 27:37the most vital importance. I'll be a waiting year. I sincerely hope soon
- 27:42reply respectfully yours, Ted Gandolpho, Chairman of the Assassination Information Committee. Now
- 28:03a month after writing that letter to the President, there's a note in Wiseberg's
- 28:11file that said, Ted Gandolpho, who phouned me a little afternoon to tell
- 28:18me about a week ago a man had to say that something was going to
- 28:22happen to his wife and that today it did. So he left her for
- 28:26work, did not get there. They had not heard from her, and
- 28:30he found the police who had no report about anything happening to her. Hwne
- 28:38eighty two. I guess this is some seemingly ominous information that something happened to
- 28:52his wife. I'm not sure exactly what. But later on in December of
- 28:56nineteen eighty two, I have a letter that Ted Gendoffers sent out to Wiseberg's
- 29:03Brague made Brussel brother, his brothers, John Paul's mother, Edith, and
- 29:07YadA, YadA, YadA. This is high all. Firstly, Merry Christmas
- 29:12and happy New Year from us all in eighty three. These are pretty rough
- 29:18times for me and Anita. As you know by now, no one can
- 29:21be certain of what the future holds, of course, but hopefully all will
- 29:25turn out okay in the end, hopefully not too distant in the future.
- 29:30At the present time, I have to turn a tremendous set of personal emotional
- 29:33problems which must be dealt with firstly, and I hope effectively. Then perhaps
- 29:38and hopefully I'll be able to get into the mainstream again and to function as
- 29:42I should function. Hopefully that day will not be too holling coming. Anita
- 29:48has been, in a word, terrific, a real God send to me
- 29:52in these most difficult personal times. In addition, your best wishes and prayers
- 29:59are also much sid Thank you for everything. Really, I'll communicate again in
- 30:04a little while when I'm feeling more better. Thanks for Anita and myself,
- 30:10Sincerely, Teddy and Alpho, same December nineteen eighty two. Two days after
- 30:26that one was sent, he says, as to the same people, this
- 30:33is quite different. This is a quite different typewriter. So I made mistakes.
- 30:40I'm going through a very difficult period in my life now. It is
- 30:44a process of evaluation priorities, self analysis, etc. I was recently taking
- 30:51completely off of my medication, which I've taken for five years now, and
- 30:56the result was devastating, to say the least. My anxiety has became so
- 31:00horrible and bad that I thought I would go completely balkers. Now they have
- 31:07restored a new medication to me, and I'm feeling a little better because of
- 31:10it. I have been told that they probably would not be able to determine
- 31:15the causes of my five years of getting anxiety attacks, but that they would
- 31:22finally be able to help me when I get them, so it's better than
- 31:25nothing, I guess. I have no idea how long I'll be able to
- 31:30stay here, but I've heard that this hospital doesn't keep you for more than
- 31:33two or three months. I hope not. This is a very difficult time
- 31:38in mind and Needer's life will need your prayers and good wishes. Hopefully all
- 31:44will be okay soon. Mist regards and write me soon. I'm lonely ted
- 31:48Gandolfo Right so now, Apparently at the end of nineteen eighty two, mister
- 31:56Gandolfo finds himself mentally deteriorating an end a hospital suffering from quite bad anxiety.
- 32:13So fast forward a couple of weeks. Now we're in the middle of January
- 32:16nineteen eighty three, and I believe mister Gandolpho is ready to hang it up
- 32:23as a he JFK assassination researcher, and he is ready to donate his collection
- 32:30to a university, Okay now for whatever reason. And I don't know that
- 32:38he has any ties that this university whatsoever, but he selects the University of
- 32:45Wisconsin at Steven's point where he wants to donate his stuff. So we have
- 32:54a letter now from actually another assassination researcher who you may have heard of,
- 33:00named David Roon w RNE, and he apparently works at the University of Wisconsin,
- 33:08and he happens to be the one that's answering Ted Gandolpho's letter, dear
- 33:14ted, thank you for your recent letter concerning your tape, recorded and printed
- 33:16files on the assassination of President Kennedy. I was distressed to read that you
- 33:22are ill on suffering from severe financial problems. I trust it all will eventually
- 33:28work its way out for you. In consultation with the dean of our Learning
- 33:32Resource Center, I can report to you on the several questions you asked me.
- 33:37One r e. The question of your donation being an income tax deduction,
- 33:45the IRS prohibits an institutions, such as the University of Steven's Point,
- 33:50from making an estimate of the value of a collection and giving it to any
- 33:53person or institution. The IRS says there must be an evaluation of the collection
- 33:59by a certified evaluate her one. Once that certificate is executed by the evaluator,
- 34:06it is given to the donor, which in this instance would be you.
- 34:10In our city of Stevens Points, there's a lady who can and has
- 34:14performed this task before. We would take this list of materials to her and
- 34:19she would place a value upon it, give this certificate to you, and
- 34:22you would then be able to use this document for your tax purposes. Since
- 34:27you were going to be given us your material excuse me without charge? Would
- 34:31we would pay for the certification and have it forwarded to you. Shipping shipping
- 34:39costs we meant also package transportation and postage. However, we would wish to
- 34:45see the list of materials before we could tell you which form of transportation to
- 34:51use. We would of course paid for the shipping and transportation of your materials
- 34:54to us. We must know how much materials you have. I have to
- 35:00determine the amounts and arrange for the certification. Thus, please send a detailed
- 35:04list of what all your material consists of, both printed and taped. We
- 35:08await your reply at your earliest possible opportunity. Sincerely, David Rome so now
- 35:19Ted writes back with a detailed list, which is Dear mister Browne, received
- 35:24your letter today asking for a detailed list. Here we go. Taped recordings.

- 36:58transported to you by truck or car rather than the mails, if possible,
- 37:01is to prevent loss or theft. I'll be awaiting your evaluation. Also,
- 37:07do provide boxes respectfully. Yours take end also now in the middle of all
- 37:17this, Ted writes Harold a letter nineteen eighty four February nineteenth and clothes you'll
- 37:27find some important previous correspondence between the University of Wisconsin and myself are my materials.
- 37:32I would appreciate it very much if you would look at this correspondence over.
- 37:37But let me know if you think the amount for income tax deductions they
- 37:39are offering me a good or even a fair one for all my taped in
- 37:44printing materials or not. So please read it carefully and take your time and
- 37:47let me know by mail if you think it's an equitable amount they are offering
- 37:52me. The reason I'm asking your advice on this is obviously because I'm very
- 37:55unknowledgeable about these things. My wife thinks that for the vast materials I'm offering
- 38:02them, she thinks their amount to me is too small. What do you
- 38:06think, Harold? I'll abide by what you say in response because I respect
- 38:12your judgment. Thanks a lot for doing this for me. I appreciate your
- 38:15indultment indulgence. Sincerely Ted, So he writes back, dear Ted, I've
- 38:29gone over what you sent me, and it appears to be to me to
- 38:31be in order and the best that they can do. They are limited to
- 38:37what I aris accepts, and so is the appraiser. The only point of
- 38:39comparison I have is one item where I've sent them z roses, and this
- 38:46end I was told the identical thing ten cents a page with the books.
- 38:52That's impossible to know without a list of them and knowing their condition or rarity.
- 38:55But I am certain if this can be appraised upward. They will see
- 39:00to it. I've known Ron for years and he is an honest man.
- 39:05However, also bear in mind that on your end it must bear irs scrutiny,
- 39:09and if they have any reason have any questions, he'd have troubles.
- 39:15No sure telling Nita that Nixon saw to it that all such things would be
- 39:24on the low side and examined with care because of the crooked things he tried
- 39:30and in which he got caught. Or do you and she remember that stink
- 39:34not a praiser who also had a big professional reputation, got into a lot
- 39:37of trouble and hurt himself by it. You can depend on it. If
- 39:43any of it can be given a higher evaluation, it will be. I
- 39:45hope you're both well. Best now So a month later, March nineteen eighty
- 39:59three, mister Nanduffoto, we are happy to accept your materials on the assassination
- 40:04of John if Kennedy. Our response has been delayed due to the untimely illness
- 40:08of the appraiser. Her health is now restored and we can proceed at this
- 40:14time. Enclosed is a tentative evaluation of the materials as described in your previous
- 40:20letter. The book estimates will be revised upon careful scrutiny of the volumes.
- 40:25The attached to evaluation is only an estimate. Upon receipt of the materials,
- 40:30their value will be officially certified by the appraiser, who requires that the materials
- 40:36be physically in her hands before executing the document. The income Tax Deductions certificate
- 40:42will be listed in your wife's name, Anita Gilagio. We eagerly await receiving
- 40:49the materials. These package and ship the materials as soon as possible. We
- 40:52are sending you by United Parcel twenty boxes and the necessary packaging materials and closed
- 40:59as a check the amount of two hundred dollars to cover your expenses and labor
- 41:02involved in assembling the packages and shipping the material to us. Sincerely, David
- 41:07Rome and the estimate it included for all of his stuff is the tape recordings,
- 41:22the two hundred and twenty five reels of seven inch tape twenty nine one
- 41:27hundred and thirty six dollars and twenty five cents. The forty three reels a
- 41:30five inch tape at seven forty five each three or three hundred and twenty dollars
- 41:36thirty five cents. Printed documents nineteen thousand, five hundred sheets and two pataged
- 41:44at ten cents a sheet, nineteen hundred and fifty dollars, Audio cassettes at
- 41:49one fifty sixty each, seventy nine sixty minute cassettes one hundred and twenty three
- 41:54dollars and twenty four cents a video cassettes, ten to sixty minute half inch
- 42:00cassettes at sixteen ninety one each one hundred and sixty nine dollars and ten cents.
- 42:06Sixty volumes of books three hundred and sixty dollars, for a total estimated
- 42:09value of your entire collection SIR to be five thousand, eight hundred and fifty
- 42:15eight dollars ninety four cents, which basically estimates to be a base level estimate
- 42:30of the costs incurred by a can't off to do all this like this is
- 42:40at the time a seven inch reeler tape costs thirteen dollars and five cents each.
- 42:45They're not estimating the value of what is actually on the documents, on
- 42:52the recordings, on the cassettes or the books. So again, the final
- 42:59the final quote may have been higher, but the estimated value is five thousand,
- 43:06eight hundred and fifty eight dollars and ninety four cents. So we know
- 43:12Gandolfo's in poor health, unemployed, our financial straits, ready to give all
- 43:19this up, get rid of his collection, right it off on his taxes
- 43:25and move on. At this point nineteen eighty three. Now, for whatever
- 43:31reason, I don't think he followed through with this. I think at the
- 43:35last minute he he probably told himself I can't heart like my polect and his
- 43:42brife is probably like God bim it. But because as you'll see, we'll
- 43:50get there, I promise. But let's fast forward to the year of our
- 43:54Lord nineteen eighty six, where he sends Larry Stratterman a letter. Now,
- 44:04Larry Stratterman is the Information and Privacy coordinator for the Central Intelligence Agency. Once
- 44:12again, if you want to get onto radar, you know, start hassling
- 44:17very important people. Dear mister Strotherman. Enclosed, please find my most recent
- 44:24newsletter entitled Assassination USA, which is sent out by monthly to more than twenty
- 44:30seven hundred subscribers across the country. As you see the league cover story and
- 44:37the revelations it contains, the primary reason I'm sending it to you and your
- 44:43agency. The devastating information published herein will no doubt speak for itself. This
- 44:50story, revealed here for the very first time anywhere in any publication, is
- 44:54entirely true in every aspect, and is completely documented and corroborated by the enclosed
- 45:02and indeed other corroborative evidence in my personal files and possession and elsewhere, or
- 45:08have submitted it all and placed it in the possession of several persons should mine
- 45:13ever become quote, lost, or in some way confiscated by whomever. I
- 45:20am in more than twenty three year private researcher on the jfk assassination, and
- 45:23have appeared as guest expert on more than two hundred and fifty radio and TV
- 45:29shows, including my own hourly weekly cable TV shows in nineteen seventy seven.
- 45:35In nineteen seventy eight, I have also compiled the largest all inclusive tape recorded
- 45:39library in the world on this case, numbering more than five thousand hours at
- 45:45the present. And continuing the reason I'm sending you the enclosed informations in the
- 45:51serving holt that you or anyone else in the agency will respond to the information
- 45:54contained herein hopefully as soon as possible. If when I receive a reply from
- 46:00the Agency, I will be only too happy to publish it in my next
- 46:06newsletter for the edification of my many subscribers and listening audience during radio shows I
- 46:12am still appearing on are this case. Should I not receive a reply or
- 46:16any response at all, that in and of itself will be reported by myself
- 46:22as well and will exactly vative indicative of certain things relating to a lack of
- 46:29deniability regarding this matter from you, the Agency. I await you're hopefully soon
- 46:36reply and response eagerly, Sincerely, yours head Yindoffo, Chairman of the Assassination
- 46:44Information Committee, New York, New York. Yeah, probably probably not the
- 46:50best idea to threaten the CIA TAD, but that's just me. And you
- 46:57heard him mention in there that he had now he has ever five thousand hours
- 47:00of audio tape and continuing. That's what makes me think that he didn't go
- 47:06through with his submission to the University of Wisconsin, or if he did,
- 47:13he copied everything and gave them copies, which it's a little disingenuous, but
- 47:22I digress. Then we move on to December of nineteen eighty six, in
- 47:29which I have a copy of t Head Gandolfers newsletter, his Assassination USA newsletter,
- 47:37that is that goes out to his twenty seven hundred subscribers, with copies
- 47:45sent to Blakey, Garrison, Sprague, Lane, lect Brussell, Kauwhawk,
- 47:53President Reagan, CIA, and just for FBI, the US Congress, and
- 48:00several magazines. This is a very special holiday edition. Jim Garrison completely vindicated
- 48:12absolute proof that Robert Blakey, chief Council of the House Select Committee, deliberately
- 48:17covered up Garrison's evidence of direct CIA involvement of the JFK assassination or orders from
- 48:24his actual employers, the CIA. I now have conclusive proof that this evidence
- 48:31of direct CI involvement in the crime was supplied by Jim Garrison to Cliff Fenton,
- 48:37who headed a five man investigative team for the committee, and this conclusive,
- 48:43overwhelming evidence of direct CI involvement in the crime was then given personally to
- 48:49Blakey, who completely suppressed all of it from the citizens of this country,
- 48:52indeed peoples of the whole world. So apparently most twentieth nineteen eighty six ed
- 49:02Vandolpho interviewed his nemesis Robert Blakey. Now this is, of course, seven
- 49:12years after the hsc A disbanded and published their findings, and kudos to Blakey
- 49:20for even taking this guy's phone call at this point, directly from the newsletter,
- 49:25the interview went a little something like this. I began this conversation by
- 49:37asking Buddy Blakey about one of the assassins we have nicknamed Frenchie. He refused
- 49:45to comment to my question about him. And now for the crucially important dialogue
- 49:49and saying, hsc investigator Cliffenton, who Dick's bragge, my friend, who
- 49:54is the photography genius of the case. He told me that Blakey would never
- 49:59discuss with anyone in the past. The relevant dialogue followers. Gandolpho starts.
- 50:07I also contacted Jim Garrison, and he said that a team of investigators headed
- 50:13by Fenton received from Garrison evidence definitely proving a CIA conspiracy to kill Kennedy Lake.
- 50:20He says, that's false, than Gandolpho, excuse me, that's false,
- 50:28Gandolpho, that is false, Yes, Gandolpho, Well that's what Garrison
- 50:35said, blake He says, well that he said it. I don't doubt
- 50:38that it is true. I deny, Gandolpho, you deny that that's true.
- 50:45In other words, Fenton's team did not come back to the committee with
- 50:47evidence from Garrison. La He says, no, we talked to Garrison.
- 50:53Gandolpho said, oh you did, like he said, sure, but there
- 50:58was no evidence that the CIA was involved, Gandolphin. Garrison did not present
- 51:06you with that evidence, Blake. He said, Look, I appreciate you
- 51:09calling me, but I'm not available for an interrogation, son, Gandolpho.
- 51:15No, I'm just and Blake, he says, like, giving you all
- 51:22the information, I'm going to Garrison's allegation that the CIA was involved in the
- 51:28assassination and that he proved it or offer evidence proving it to the Assassinations Committee
- 51:34is false on both grounds. The endolphics on both. Yes, Well,
- 51:44I'm just saying what I was told by mister Garrison. Blake, he said,
- 51:46well, I don't care what mister Garrison said. Gandolpho. Yeah,
- 51:52Well, like he said, I'm just telling you what happened. We talked
- 51:54to Garrison. He did not prove the CIA was involved, period. Oh
- 52:00you did talk to him, Blake, He said, yes, shit,
- 52:04heead, I just told you that two minutes ago. Now, he didn't
- 52:07say shit hit, but yes, Gandolpha you mean Fenton's team, right,
- 52:14Blakey, Yes, he talked to a number of people, including Garrison,
- 52:19Giandolpho. Yes, or well, and of Finton's team, did they report
- 52:22any information from Garrison Blakey, Yes, Gandolpho wasn't published. Blakey in part,
- 52:31I don't know that everything he said was published, but just about everything
- 52:35he said substance of what he said was published. Yes, of what Garrison
- 52:39said? Yes, can you recall anything, Blakey, I am not available
- 52:46for interrogation son, No, No, I'm merely Hey. Hey, yes,
- 52:52the conversation's over with unless you want to ask me another question on another
- 52:59subject matter, Gan dolful or all right, Well, I don't know what
- 53:06to say, because you know blake He says, well, don't say anything
- 53:12else, but goodbye. Then, h I love it. You see you
- 53:22go in. I'll prepared and this is what happens you just asked handed to
- 53:29your folks. Yeah, and I don't know what Gan Dolphin was trying to
- 53:35prove. He even planned to verbat him word for word in his newsletter.
- 53:38That he sent out to people like I don't know if he thought that he
- 53:43had Blakey in a gotcha kind of moment, but to me it sounded like
- 53:46Blakey handed him his ass. After receiving this newsletter, Harold Wisebergh felt impelled
- 53:55two right ted, dear ted in your own interest. I must be blunt
- 54:02with you or you will make a laughing stock of yourself from coast to coast.
- 54:09You hung up when I told you that the CIA's advice to the HSCA
- 54:14to disrecard the so called tramp pictures was good advice. This was when I
- 54:21told you that Dick Sprague had made up the name Frenchy for one of the
- 54:23men in the pictures because the Dick his clothes appeared to be a French cut.
- 54:30If you dig out your old copies of Computers and Automation, you'll find
- 54:34that Dick himself said this. He said that there will be someone from the
- 54:38CIA on the WBAO radio show to be syndicated. If there is, he
- 54:45will know the truth and you will be the biggest spectacle your side of the
- 54:49Statue of liberty. And as it happens, you can check out some of
- 54:52this with Jim Garrison, who should remember this is because there became a time,
- 54:59just before the Shawl trial began when he had been booby trapped by Bill
- 55:02Boxley, a former CIA named Woods. I worked like hell on it,
- 55:09and as his own assistant Shiambra told me for him, saved Jim from a
- 55:15real disaster. Part of Boxley's nonsense was these irrelevant pictures. First of all,
- 55:22the men were not tramps. That was also Dick's invention. They were
- 55:28whinos that they were picked up and walked past the TSBD, had nothing to
- 55:32do with the assassination, and it was at least an hour later. They
- 55:37were trespassers found in a box car about three blocks away, and the only
- 55:43way to walk them out was passed the TSBD. Tho's men have been identified
- 55:50as just about everybody except Mohammed Jesus and a couple of his pals. All
- 55:54identifications were the imaginings of some so called critic if I remember correctly, and
- 56:01Jim should. The first of these made up identifications was that one of the
- 56:07men was the Edgar Eugene Bradley, then working for the right wing preacher based
- 56:13in New Jersey. I think Mark Lane made that one up frenchie was I
- 56:17think by Sprague identified as an lbj's farm manager. I kill you on and
- 56:24on, but my only purpose is to protect you from your own stubbornness and
- 56:28ignorance, and to keep you from making the CI look good on a coast
- 56:32to coast hookup. You just can't go around and accept an unquestionable truth.
- 56:38Was somebody else made up? Particularly not when there's a chance that somebody who
- 56:43knows what the official investigation shows and there surely was one of those wild imaginings
- 56:49who will be in a position to dump on you like you've never imagined.
- 56:53I take this time when I should have gone to bed, only to save
- 56:59you from yourself. Be stubborn, don't believe me and see what happens.
- 57:05That's the eighties equivalent to fuck around and signed out. And I told you
- 57:12the truth about how the government works. You may not like it, but
- 57:15it's the real world, not whatever you dream up to replace reality. If
- 57:21you've ever had any experience in government or watching it carefully, what I told
- 57:25you would be obvious. So you can check check me by two phone calls
- 57:31to Jim and to Ken Bruton, who, as I told you, phone
- 57:35me after Spray was forced off the HCA to tell me that I was Merlin
- 57:42remembering the future. Nonetheless, asking the executive agencies questions is normal, and
- 57:49for them to reply is also normal. The replies you read me are insight,
- 57:54much as you do not like them. Good advice, and you'll really
- 57:59be clobered if you go into the other one too. Even if there is
- 58:04nobody from the CIA on the show, if there is anyone on the other
- 58:07side, you best fear that he'll be primed and ready to take you out.
- 58:15Now as we wrap up thankteen eighty nine, Apparently ted Yandolpho had asked
- 58:27Harold Wiseberg to set him up with a high ranking media news source because he
- 58:37was claiming to have some explosive evidence in the case. Do you Ted As
- 58:47you know, I'm not well. This is not one of my better days.
- 58:52But when you found to ask for help, I tried to help and
- 58:54was able to prevent you to present you with the bestile assistance. If you
- 59:01had lived up to your end, I fear that you have jumped to some
- 59:06kind of utterly irrational conclusion and did not have the good sense to at least
- 59:12speak to me first. In any event, I was unwell enough to lie
- 59:16down, having told my wife to wake me if I got a call.
- 59:22I'd asked Alcorn to phone me after he spoke to you, and I was
- 59:27surprised that he had not. I phoned his office and he'd gone for the
- 59:30day. I was also surprised at not having heard from you, so I
- 59:36phoned you and you refused to speak to me. No explanation why you have
- 59:44phoned me at all times of inconvenient times, But I've never once refused to
- 59:50speak to you, as you well know, aside from being impolite, you
- 59:55are very irrational. If Alcorn said something to offend you, or if there
- 1:00:02was something about him you did not like, you could have told me and
- 1:00:07I could have phoned to Woodward. Bob Woodward, he knows me, as
- 1:00:12does his former sidekick, and both have in the past caught on me for
- 1:00:15help. There were good reasons I didn't go into with you for my asking
- 1:00:21Alcorn to do it rather than doing it myself. And it involves a tip
- 1:00:25that Woodwary got some years ago and mentioned Alcorn, and about which, as
- 1:00:31I told you, he and Alcorn are to meet next week. That he
- 1:00:37did not phone me as he said he would, and I asked him in
- 1:00:38order to see if I could be of any further help. Leads me to
- 1:00:43believe that you blew up at him over something. I knew you can do
- 1:00:49such things, because you have told me of doing them. I don't know
- 1:00:52whether or not you realize how much I can add to what you were trying
- 1:00:57to do, but I as sure as hell. But with any kind of
- 1:01:00situation as this, aside from what it would be if Woodward were to do
- 1:01:06the story, what the Post would do with it, and would do with
- 1:01:10it if it did anything? Have you any idea how many copies Would's books
- 1:01:15sell? I have enough to give him to make a book for him,
- 1:01:21because I started a book on that subject some years ago and since have obtained
- 1:01:25a considerable amount of relevant information. I'm surmising, of course, but I
- 1:01:30think of your refusal to speak to me and what you have told me yourself
- 1:01:35about yourself. I do thro that you blew up, that it was irrational,
- 1:01:39intentional, and that you are your own worst enemy. I'm sorry that
- 1:01:45you were able to behave this way, and I'm sorry that, after all
- 1:01:49these years, who were able to do so. Sincerely, how so apparently
- 1:02:04Wisebergs set up a meeting, let's want this contax to stuff but mouth and
- 1:02:10whatever reason, it didn't happen. And now Gandolpho won't even take Wiseberg's phone
- 1:02:16calls. I'm not sure what's happening here. And we're into an eighteen ninety
- 1:02:25with a special edition of the Assassination USA newsletter by Ted and Dolpho. I
- 1:02:37sincerely hope and trusted you my many subscribers, will bear with me at this
- 1:02:42time for what I will be, for what I will here relate. Let
- 1:02:46me preface it by saying that two months ago my house was broken into while
- 1:02:51my wife and I were at a hospital for my bad back. Upon I
- 1:02:55return home, we discovered that a bit more than fourteen thousand dollars was stolen,
- 1:03:00in addition to approximately forty video and audiotapes. It was obviously the black
- 1:03:07back job, which the FBI and CIA are famous for. At any rate,
- 1:03:15since we had only a little in our bank, unfortunately, it depleted
- 1:03:17our financial savings for the most part. Then, to make a long story
- 1:03:22short, I was contacted by my mother who informed me that my younger brother
- 1:03:27John had died from the cancer which had sountracted all throughout his body. He
- 1:03:34had just turned fifty two. Since we all know of the large cost of
- 1:03:37his funeral, and since my mother and I and wife Anita were virtually bereft
- 1:03:42of any money to pay for his funeral. With this problem in existence,
- 1:03:46I resorted for help to several of my fellow long term JFK researchers. They
- 1:03:52came to our assistance magnificently, to say the least. Among those who immediately
- 1:03:58sent me anywhere from one hundred to two hundred bucks were Richard Spray, Judge
- 1:04:04Jim Garrison, Mark Lane, doctor Cyril Wacht, and Harold Wiseberg. Because
- 1:04:12of their financial assistance, I and my mother were able to have my brother
- 1:04:15buried in dignity. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to repay any of them
- 1:04:19back yet, but I will do so as soon as the needy and I
- 1:04:21get back on our feet. I know that by divulging this I may well
- 1:04:27cause embarrassment to these friends and colleagues, and I've always felt that the good
- 1:04:32deeds of people should be maine down to others, So I beg their forgiveness
- 1:04:38should their embarrassment ensue. Now that I've said this, I'd like you all
- 1:04:43to know my very personal opinions of these I feel strongly great patriots of this
- 1:04:48country. They are indeed patriots because they did not Lemming like and here and
- 1:04:55conform to the national security while Irnigeranna was it take. Relating to the events
- 1:05:00surrounding the assassination of our beloved President Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, I do
- 1:05:06from the twenty second, nineteen sixty three. So we have Gandolfo in the
- 1:05:16hospital with a bad back. This house gets broken into by what he terms
- 1:05:21as a CI or FBI black back job, where certain things are stolen,
- 1:05:28including money and audio and videotapes, and he enlisted. He enlists funds from
- 1:05:38his fellow JFK assassination researchers, you know, which is pretty sad that this
- 1:05:45guy has no fucking friends other than these random JFK researchers to rely on it
- 1:05:55to help him out financially to bury his brother. Wow, I mean that
- 1:06:05that in itself. Okay, you've been researching the case for twenty five years
- 1:06:12at this point, and you were so engrossed in your life with this thing
- 1:06:16that all you have is fellow researchers. But you probably never met all across
- 1:06:25the country. You've corresponded with them, and that's who you look to,
- 1:06:31that's who you solicit for funds. So by now news of the Oliver Stone
- 1:06:43movie being made and coming out is happening, and things are of course dug
- 1:06:50up from the past. And we have a rival newsletter called The Investigator,
- 1:07:01and I believe it's put out by research named J. G Rowel. And
- 1:07:06this article is entitled The Garrison Gan Dolpho Smoking Mirrors Show. I like the
- 1:07:15title The Garrison Ken Dolpho Shit Show much better, but here we go.
- 1:07:26Ever, since that first electrifying news of Jim Garrison's Kennedy assassination pro flashed around
- 1:07:30the world, I had been a staunch advocate of support for the embattled district
- 1:07:35attorney. While I did not always agree with his pronouncements or tactics, I
- 1:07:41felt it eventually his New Orleans based Kennedy investigation would shed valuable new light on
- 1:07:45the murder conspiracy. However, developments in the past several years have changed my
- 1:07:51position about mister Garrison. Mister Garrison, I, for one, am still
- 1:07:59waiting for mister Garrison to reveal the evidence needed to convictively play shawl in an
- 1:08:03open court of law. I will grant, though, that the Shaw case
- 1:08:08was a difficult one to prosecute given the restriction that the prosecutor was required to
- 1:08:14show genuine evidence. The point is moot now, however, as the Shaw
- 1:08:19trial is ancient history and mister Garrison has moved on to Judge Ship and a
- 1:08:24new storm on controversy. For it appears that mister Garrison has opened up yet
- 1:08:29another smoke and mirror magical losing show with mister ted Gyandolpho to show for him.
- 1:08:35The Garrison Gandolfo duo have proclaimed that there exists tape recorded proof of conspiracy,
- 1:08:43yet they have failed to provide one shred of actual evidence. Who says
- 1:08:47you can't go back to the good old days and what seems like a bad
- 1:08:51case of deja vu, I'm reminded of herblock our tune at the front of
- 1:08:58a Rosemary James and James wardlaw book plot or Politics the Garrison Case and its
- 1:09:03cast. The cartoon, which is entitled New Orleans Strip Joint, depicts the
- 1:09:09jolly green giant Jim Garrison, dressed in his underpants, shoes and socks doing
- 1:09:15a fan dance undersigns the declare sensational disclosures, who sensational to disclose? And
- 1:09:25startling revelations that cannot be revealed. Yes, indeed, tape recorded proof of
- 1:09:30conspiracy too sensational to disclose, and two startling to reveal. But let me
- 1:09:38start at the beginning of my interest in this particular aspect. Years ago,
- 1:09:42I had acquired a tape of mister Gandolfo's Assassination USA radio show. It featured
- 1:09:47a conversation with mister Garrison about a tape confession from one of JFK's plotters.
- 1:09:54Since I had never seen anything in print about this tape confession, I wrote
- 1:09:59the following for November twenty second, nineteen eighty one issue of Penn Jones,
- 1:10:02The Continuing Inquiry Newsletter. The source of information about the confession comes by the
- 1:10:09way of New Orleans former District Attorney Jim Garrison. This important tape confession and
- 1:10:16the possibility of a cover up in the New Orleans end of the JFK investigation
- 1:10:20were the topics of discussion between Garrison and broadcaster Tech Gandolpho in a February nineteen
- 1:10:27seventy eight telephone conversation about Blakey. Blakey, as you'll recall, was appointed
- 1:10:32to the Chief Council slot of the HSCA in June of seventy seven, and
- 1:10:38by February seventy eight, his tactics were beginning to show through. The following
- 1:10:45excerpts were taken from the conversation between Garrison and Gandolpho as they centered in when
- 1:10:49the solid progress made by the New Orleans Field investigators and the lack of response
- 1:10:55by Blakey on the progress that they made. Garrison, please emphasize, no,
- 1:11:03I'm not gonna do Garrison voice. Please emphasize because I'm well aware of
- 1:11:09the discrimination the national media has done. So please emphasize that my inclination has
- 1:11:15been not to get into the act, that I don't seek publicity, that
- 1:11:19I'm leaning over backwards, not to but I'm well aware of the developments here
- 1:11:25because I've turned over so much material. We went far beyond the Shaw case.
- 1:11:30That was just an incident. We were right there, but went far
- 1:11:33beyond that, and the material off turned over to these men. They have
- 1:11:38gone far beyond where we went, and I have been astonished as the months
- 1:11:43passed and silence comes from Washington. They have meetings in which they're specifically discussing
- 1:11:49the assassination with Shaw and Ferry president the details. Gandolpho, are you talking
- 1:11:57about Perry Raymond Rooster thing? Garrison? No. Since then, they've gone
- 1:12:03beyond that into new areas we hadn't reached yet. We had the right people,
- 1:12:08hope we didn't have all their meetings. They have a fucking confession from
- 1:12:14one of the guys participating in the meetings as an accessory on tape hours dates
- 1:12:20places trips to Dallas in preparation. It's corroborated by a thousand things that I've
- 1:12:26sent up. Why haven't they taken a deposition from him? In these months?
- 1:12:30They've left him available to be killed? Gandolfo the person in the banister
- 1:12:35office Garrison, yeah, Gandolfo, Yeah, I think I know who you
- 1:12:41mean. I think he may be Jerrison WHOA. Let's not guess over the
- 1:12:46phone because it may be monitored. But the point is they just leave him
- 1:12:50available to be killed. As the months passed and they don't take his deposition.
- 1:12:56Garrison not only attended meetings in which they plan and the assassination in detail,
- 1:13:00they even sent him on a trip to Dallas just before the assassination to
- 1:13:08give to a meet with one of the other people involved, and to give
- 1:13:11him maps and photographs. Garrison, well, at least if they kill him,
- 1:13:15they'll hurt themselves because it's all on tape now, and they'll be hard
- 1:13:21They'll be hard put to ignore what's on tape of a man that's been killed.
- 1:13:28So in light of the above conversation and the fact that the existence of
- 1:13:31the confession tapes has never been publicly acknowledged, then it would appear as though
- 1:13:36a person could reasonably draw one of the following conclusions. A the confession tape
- 1:13:43doesn't exist in the former New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison's lying, I personally
- 1:13:48do not believe that mister Garrison is lying. B that the confession tape does
- 1:13:54exist. And then a thorough Ahency investigation of the matter has led to the
- 1:13:58conclusion that there is no truth in the confession or see, the confession tape
- 1:14:04does exist, and that has been suppressed by Blakey. A smug Blakey has
- 1:14:12stated, I'll wrest on the historian's judgment. Fifty years from now, when
- 1:14:15everything becomes available, I'll rest on the historical judgment that has made on us.
- 1:14:20In fifty years since the article appeared in nineteen eighty one, mister Garrison
- 1:14:27has been silent on the matter, while mister Gandolpho has continued to beat one
- 1:14:30drum of CIA conspiracy on mister Garrison's behalf. I have waited for approximately nine
- 1:14:38years for evidence to surface from either mister Garrison or Gandolpho to prove any of
- 1:14:43their claims. This weight has been in vain in spite of the fact that
- 1:14:47mister Garrison has subsequently written an article for Freedom Magazine entitled The Murder Talents of
- 1:14:54the CIA and a hardcover book called On the Trail of the Assassins, while
- 1:15:00mister Gandolpho has written hisself published The Householic Committee on Assassination's cover Up. As
- 1:15:06I understand the situation as it exists at this time, there are supposedly at
- 1:15:12least two tapes in the possession of the HSCA. Both were allegedly in the
- 1:15:15custody of Cliff Senton, who allegedly passed them to Blakey. The first tape
- 1:15:20allegedly consists of a confession given by Jim Hicks during the ill fated Shawl Crobe.
- 1:15:27According to mister Gandolpho, Jim Hicks testified to the grand jury that he
- 1:15:32was a signal operator to the assassins that day. He further stated that Jim
- 1:15:38Garrison gave the tape to the Agencia and he retained no copies. The second
- 1:15:43tape, allegedly or conversations of the actual plotters planning the daily plans assassination.
- 1:15:49Not much as known about their origin or how they came to be in Jim
- 1:15:53Garrison's possession, but Gandolpho claims, yes, I heard the plotter's tapes with
- 1:15:59Garrison, and no, I don't have copies. Blakie put them in the
- 1:16:02National Archives and pover up. Gandolpho wrote, they Cliff Fenton's five man team
- 1:16:11secured tape recorded conversations which in which the assassination of President Kennedy was being discussed
- 1:16:16by, among others, people whose voices were identified as being contract employees of
- 1:16:20the Central Intelligence Agency. Gandolpho stated in November of nineteen eighty six on the
- 1:16:28WPLP radio show that the voices on the tapes belonged to Clay Shaw, David
- 1:16:33Ferry, William Seymour, Emilio Santana, Jack Lawrence, fred Leye, Chrisman,
- 1:16:41Jim Hicks, Jim Braden, etc. Hey. Now here's the rub.
- 1:16:46According to Gandolpho, Jim Garrison gave the tapes to the federal government and
- 1:16:51did not retain any copies. Are we to believe that Jim Garrison had tapes
- 1:16:57that could provide undeniable proof of a spiracy and that he didn't make any copies,
- 1:17:02especially since mister Garrison has expressed this disdain and distrust of the federal government
- 1:17:08all these years. Are we to believe that Techiendolfo listened to these tapes with
- 1:17:12mister Garrison, it made no effort to secure a copy of these for his
- 1:17:16vast audio tape collections. Perhaps the day will come when the actual tape recording
- 1:17:23service improved beyond the shadow of doubt that they really do exist. But until
- 1:17:28that day comes, the Garrison and Gandolpho claims will have to remain just another
- 1:17:32smoke and mirror show. Interesting. Interesting, Now, So those listeners to
- 1:17:46my show who have been listening for quite a while, going back to almost
- 1:17:51a rare beginning, you know the story of mister Thomas Beckham. Thomas Beckham
- 1:18:03was a New Orleans witness justified in the grand jury didn't really say much then,
- 1:18:13and I got a pissing match with Jim Garrison about something really insignificant,
- 1:18:21and it's kind of shuffled around. Now, fast forward to the HSCA investigation.
- 1:18:31When Beckham was interviewed by investigators from the HSCA, he told a completely
- 1:18:38different story than what he told Garrison in nineteen sixty seven. What he told
- 1:18:45investigators for the HSCA lines up very well with what Garrison claims to have audio
- 1:18:55tapes up. Beckham goes into a meeting at g Raydale's office with several of
- 1:19:03the conspirators. He also goes into the fact that they sent him to Dallas
- 1:19:13with maps and pictures to meet with Lawrence Howard, who was another one of
- 1:19:21the alleged participants in the assassination of JFK. What is never mentioned by this
- 1:19:30guy Gandolfo or Garrison is the name Thomas Beckham. Now would be pretty cool
- 1:19:43if Garrison had said who gave him these tapes, but he doesn't say that
- 1:19:50it was Beckham, which means maybe it wasn't. I don't know, I'm
- 1:19:58just guessing. I'm just saying that that comes story that he relates to the
- 1:20:02HSCA matches up with what Garrison said was on the tapes. So now we
- 1:20:14move on. July third, nineteen ninety one, Ted Gandolfo called me this
- 1:20:20morning for the first time in two years. If there was a special purpose
- 1:20:26in his call, I didn't really perceive it. He is pissed off at
- 1:20:30Oliver Stone and his movie, and he quotes Garrison is somewhat disenchanted. He
- 1:20:36had not seen any of the critical newspaper accounts, but heard of George Lardner's
- 1:20:42story and referred to it as good, citing Sprague as his source. He
- 1:20:46says that Garrison told him he has little or no input, that Stone wants
- 1:20:50people to stay away from him, and that the plot is at best indecisive
- 1:20:56or whatever this means, you can take it either way. He has told
- 1:21:00him he would send Ted a copy of the script. That hasn't. In
- 1:21:03fact, he'd not heard from Garrison for some time. The last time was
- 1:21:09when he arranged for Ted to let Stone have a dub of a tape conversation
- 1:21:12with Garrison. Stone told Ted he would be using only Garrison's voice from it.
- 1:21:18In that conversation, Ted says Stone told him that Paul Hawk, Jerry
- 1:21:21Rose, and Rupert Grody were hired one as consultants. Stone also wanted to
- 1:21:28tape two hounds of sounds and emotions, supposedly immediately after the shots. The
- 1:21:34only one I remember is not genuine. Ted says he has done a two
- 1:21:40hundred and twenty part videotape history of the case and that PBS is interested in
- 1:21:45it. He says it and wn ET offered him fifteen hundred dollars for it,
- 1:21:50and he demanded three thousand, both very low for any serious TV uses.
- 1:21:58He has heard from Mark Lane about Lane's finally arranging for the publication of
- 1:22:01a book he wrote on a case in which he defended Willis Carto and spotlight
- 1:22:06I Think against the suit by E. Howard Hunt. It is currently titled
- 1:22:12Reasonable Denial and is to be published by Loudmouth Press. Ted is to get
- 1:22:18a copy of the uncorrected manuscript and the book. Lanston might never sent me
- 1:22:25a copy of Garrison's book, after telling me the Garrison had given him copies
- 1:22:29for which one was for me. Ted says he thought he had sent me
- 1:22:33a copy, still has it and will send one last time. I heard
- 1:22:38from him is when that book appeared. Harold Wiseberg, that was just a
- 1:22:44note to himself. Sometimes he find these notes to himself in the Wiseberg files,
- 1:22:56July ninety one, dear Ted, I'd expected to hear from you by
- 1:23:01now on hating the tapes. As I indicated, I think there are possibilities
- 1:23:06you did not refer to. But as I'm sure I said, it has
- 1:23:11all begun, it all has to do. It all has to begin with
- 1:23:15validating them. This means, among other things, being able to establish how
- 1:23:19your mister X came to have them. You and him should expect to be
- 1:23:25doubted for reasons we both know well and from experiences of the past. So
- 1:23:30before I do anything else, I have to be satisfied about their authenticity and
- 1:23:34how they got from Fritz to your mister X. The pony of the Pony
- 1:23:40Express you are using to get that copy of Garrison's book to me must be
- 1:23:44older than I am best. Harold Wiseberg. Yes, if I do not
- 1:23:51hear from him after making it clear, I guess this is a note to
- 1:23:55himself. If I do not hear from him after making it clear that authentication
- 1:24:00is essential. The possible explanations included there is no authentication, and that he
- 1:24:04was trying to set me up for Garrison for revenge. He and Garrison were
- 1:24:09close at the same time. It never did make sense that Fritz would question
- 1:24:14Oswald about killing JFK and not have a record he can use if he got
- 1:24:19a confession later retracted. So I had suspected that Fritz had indeed taped Oswald's
- 1:24:30interrogation secretly. Now what we're referring to now, ted Gandolpho claims to have
- 1:24:45or claims he can get, claims to have heard a secretly recorded by homicide
- 1:24:59chief. I'm aside will Fritz and that he had secretly recorded Oswald's interrogations,
- 1:25:06and he knows someone that has a copy of the secret recordings, which would
- 1:25:16be explosive if true. I mean, imagine, imagine it, folks.
- 1:25:26I mean, that's like the holy Grail of the case right there, for
- 1:25:30sure. July nine, nineteen ninety one. Dear Harold, this is extremely
- 1:25:38important, Infoe, and I think you better. I think you know better
- 1:25:42than most what to do with it. To wit, I was informed last
- 1:25:46night at the tapes of twelve hours of Oswald's interrogations, which were secretly recorded
- 1:25:54by Dallas Captain Will Fritz will be released soon by someone who had direct copies
- 1:26:00of them, whose name obviously cannot be revealed at this time. I don't
- 1:26:04recall if I mentioned this fact of their recordings to you before. I seem
- 1:26:09to recollect that I once did. I was originally assured that I myself was
- 1:26:13to be given them by mister Eds, but he is reneged on this for
- 1:26:16his own reasons, So with them, I was going to call it New
- 1:26:20York Press Club conference and play some of it, etc. I was also
- 1:26:25told that these tapes were in the hands of several people for safety's sake,
- 1:26:30which I can easily understand. I have been up practically the whole night thinking
- 1:26:36which researcher could provide the best nationwide publicity when this event occurs, and I
- 1:26:43have decided, after much thought, indeed, that you, Harold, should
- 1:26:47be the one to do it. Obviously, when this story breaks, its
- 1:26:51repercussions will be devastating, to say the least, but I thought that with
- 1:26:57your media connections, you can best inform them this development so that it can
- 1:27:00be handled the right way. Although I obviously cannot say too much about this
- 1:27:05development. If you know anyone, which I'm sure you do, who wants
- 1:27:09to talk to me about it, they can reach me at the above phone
- 1:27:12number or address. Think it over, because this will be epic dynamite.
- 1:27:17I'll defer to you this on this one. Harold, Okay, hey,
- 1:27:23yours in struggle head. Now at this point, folks, Harold Wiseberg has
- 1:27:32been You've been burned a few times by your boy tied, so I think
- 1:27:40he's stepping into this very carefully. But you know, when you dangle a
- 1:27:45big enough carrot in front of that mule, a big orange piece of dynamite
- 1:27:54carrot, you know of what could be, if true, the actual secretly
- 1:28:01taped recordings of the Oswald interrogation. That would be freaking epic to have.
- 1:28:09But as I said before, wild Bird is not a stupid man. You're
- 1:28:14ted It was July eleventh, anyone. I remember your phone calls about these
- 1:28:19recordings of the Dallas Police Oswald interviews of several years ago, better than you
- 1:28:26remember any of your promises to send me a copy of Garrison's book, the
- 1:28:30most recent only a few days ago. I remember also that you blew the
- 1:28:34introduction out of Arrange to you, And there's tapes by not listening to me
- 1:28:39when I told you that your demands some money would defeat you, and it
- 1:28:43did. I know Bob Woodward, but I arranged a better connection for you.
- 1:28:47Then he'll remember and won't talk about it now. So he's out bad
- 1:28:53because he is in charge of the Washington Post investigative reporting. He would have
- 1:28:58been the best. In recent years. I've lost most of my contacts with
- 1:29:01the media. George Lardner of the Post, you won't like because Garrison did
- 1:29:05not like his reporting, and when I was informing him to expose the House
- 1:29:10Assassin's Committee, you roll up on them. I don't know if he'd be
- 1:29:15interested, or if the Post is now keeping too busy on stories that are
- 1:29:20exposing the CIA to get interested if he wanted to. We disagree from time
- 1:29:26to time, but we know each other fairly well, and he knows more
- 1:29:29about the jfk assassination than any reporter I know. There's a problem to begin
- 1:29:33with that. If I were to make any effort to get those tapes and
- 1:29:36your mister X, any attention would have to be addressed up front, establishing
- 1:29:42their authenticity From most reporters. That would begin by your mister X explaining in
- 1:29:47a way that will accept about how he came to possess these tapes. I
- 1:29:54recall some of the things you told me about them when you started phoning me
- 1:29:57about them from Michigan. This is probably because if they are genuine, they
- 1:30:00are at least as important, as your letter says. If he can't do
- 1:30:04that, you and he should expect skepticism to begin with, even if they
- 1:30:09are genuine. Some of the things you would heard Oswald say, like the
- 1:30:13names of people in agencies with whom he was connected, intend to give credibility
- 1:30:19to the tapes, but also to be faked and the tapes made up.
- 1:30:24And some reporters may wonder or believe they have to be skeptical, as do
- 1:30:28their papers or other parties of the media. If they were used and turned
- 1:30:34out not to be genuine, all the media will begin by understanding they'd be
- 1:30:39in trouble and would be hurt. I can think of some things that can
- 1:30:43be done, but first I have to be satisfied about their genuineness, and
- 1:30:46not just that you think they're genuine. If they are not the real thing
- 1:30:50and are used, they will also undermine even more the credibility of all criticism
- 1:30:56of the official mythology. If they are not the real thing, I have
- 1:31:00to think of my own reputation, too. So let's begin by establishing by
- 1:31:04an hard fact that they are genuine, and how mister X has them.
- 1:31:11Sincerely, how that's kind of important, don't you think you know? A
- 1:31:23little Later in the month July ninety one, dear ted, I've just received
- 1:31:31two undated clippings from the New Orleans Times, pecume copies enclosed. One says
- 1:31:38that Garrison has been hospitalized for about two weeks, beginning on July ninth.
- 1:31:43It has a picture of him in which he looks terrible, to be deathly
- 1:31:46sick. That picture was taken only a few days after you told me he
- 1:31:50was fine, that you've been in touch with him, and he told you
- 1:31:54that he'd had pneumonia, but i'd gotten over it. I asked you how
- 1:31:58he is because i'd seeved an unconformed report that he has cancer. Your misrepresentation
- 1:32:04brings into questions several other things. I think you should explain, but frankly,
- 1:32:09I don't expect you to. When I had asked you how Jim is,
- 1:32:13you'd phoned after you'd phoned to offer me alleged tapes of Will Fritz's questioning
- 1:32:17of Oswald. He then told me that only I among critics could use them
- 1:32:23most effectively. You also claim not to remember whether or not we've spoken about
- 1:32:28those tapes before, when, in fact, beginning when you said you were
- 1:32:33in Michigan listening to them, we'd had a number of conversations about them.
- 1:32:38When you phone me to discuss them, among other things, that makes me
- 1:32:44wonder whether or not you're up to some kind of trick. But remembering also
- 1:32:47that you've been seriously ill, I did not assume that you had to be
- 1:32:53up to something. I then wrote to you and said that before I do
- 1:32:57anything, I'd have to have their genuineness confirmed. When I heard nothing,
- 1:33:01I wrote you again and again, and you did not respond. This does
- 1:33:08suggest that either you that, either on your own or on behalf of someone
- 1:33:12else, you were trying to booby trap me. I believe that if you
- 1:33:15knew these tapes for valid, you'd not be sitting on him or offering their
- 1:33:20use to anyone else. The last time we spoke, I reminded you that
- 1:33:26you'd told me before Garrison's book appeared, that he told you he'd send you
- 1:33:30twenty copies, and from them you were to send me one. I then
- 1:33:34wondered why he did not have the publisher do that. But whatever, you
- 1:33:40must have told me twenty times that you were going to send me a copy
- 1:33:45once that Anita forgot to mail it, and you never sent it. The
- 1:33:47last time you phoned, I reminded you, but you said you'd send me
- 1:33:50one of the four you have and didn't because, as Jim knows, publishers
- 1:33:56do send copies for authors. I believe Jim, in fact it did not
- 1:34:00want me to have a copy, and your besinny of you are confirmed that
- 1:34:02belief. But then I was learned to copy. I read it and knew
- 1:34:06very well that Jim did not want me to read it or seeing anything about
- 1:34:10it. I was involved in some things about which you know nothing, but
- 1:34:14Jim knows very well. He lies about them in the book. What he
- 1:34:18was not about to tell you is that I saved him several times from worst
- 1:34:21disaster than he suffered. I do not expect you to believe it, and
- 1:34:27I'm not going to take the time to prove it to you. But he
- 1:34:30was going to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary, or I'm sorry, that's fifth the
- 1:34:35anniversary of the JFK assassination by among other things, charging Robert Perrin, who
- 1:34:43had killed himself in New Orleans in nineteen sixty two, with being a nineteen
- 1:34:48sixty three grassy No assassin. This is why he fired to Bill Boxley,
- 1:34:56who had gone out and made up proof for him. I have copies of
- 1:35:00the work I did, and some of the investigations made for me by his
- 1:35:02own staff investigators that he should have had make them and didn't because he knew
- 1:35:09very well that he'd made this whole thing up. That time with the Shaw
- 1:35:14case before the Supreme Court, one of the staff lawyers told me whether or
- 1:35:16not it is true that I'd saved Jim from being disbarred by the Supreme Court,
- 1:35:23if I had ever intended doing them any harm, do you think I'd
- 1:35:27have been silent about this, about what goes with it, and about other
- 1:35:31such incredible adventures that would have done legitimate criticism of the assassination investigation so much
- 1:35:38harm. What Jim made up himself he blamed on the CIA. He said
- 1:35:44it had infiltrated Boxley under his own staff to do this kind of thing to
- 1:35:47him, when in fact Jim. It was Jim Garrison Pursley who hired Bill
- 1:35:53Boxley over the strong objections of his assistants. I have the memos on it,
- 1:35:59so you can believe me or not. So if you have any self
- 1:36:01respect or personal honesty left, you will explain yourself. If you don't,
- 1:36:06then for the record, as lawyers say, that will speak for itself as
- 1:36:11well. Boom, all right. The one thing you just don't want to
- 1:36:16do is fuck with Harold Wiseberg. I mean, you think people would know
- 1:36:21that by now not all people are monsters, Okay, And as we progress
- 1:36:33here, you'll see in this next letter that you know, even Harold Wiseberg
- 1:36:44has a soft spot in his heart for human beings, other humans, despite
- 1:36:50what they've said or done to them in the past. At this point,
- 1:36:56they've had a twenty five year relationship of writing back and forth carrying information,
- 1:37:01and even though Ted has fucked Harold over with bullshit, you know, time
- 1:37:09after time after time again, you'll see that the actual humanity that Harold Wiseberg
- 1:37:19possesses. When once again Tay Gandolfo snowballs Harold Wiseberg. Fast forward to March
- 1:37:32nineteen ninety two. You're Harold, Thank you kindly for the very nice things
- 1:37:40you wrote to Anita regarding me about It's appreciated. We've received quite a few
- 1:37:46orders for myself produced eighteen hour videotaped history of the JFK case has advertised in
- 1:37:53Cutler's Grassy Nool newsletter, so it will greatly help. Anita is paying for
- 1:37:58my funeral. I was told by doctors that I have two months to go
- 1:38:02at the most, so I taught Anita how to make copies of the eighteen
- 1:38:08hours sets as like yourself. I've received quite a few letters of sympathy from
- 1:38:12many subscribers and colleagues like you, Lane, Polakov, Sprague Mars, even
- 1:38:17Jean Hill. Well, Harold, I've always thought that it's not that that
- 1:38:24important when you go, but rather what one does whilst he is here that
- 1:38:29really counts. I received a two page letter from Stokes answering my letter to
- 1:38:33him, r e him and others releasing the HSCA files and the CIA FBI
- 1:38:40doing the same. Of course, you're quite wise enough to know that when
- 1:38:44and if they do, they're not ever going to release anything at all which
- 1:38:47might be detrimental to themselves. That's a given. Obviously, nothing that might
- 1:38:54in the least incriminate them in anything, so all we'll probably get is going
- 1:38:59to be other either manufactured documents and obviously finally much insanitized or censor materials at
- 1:39:05best. Dick Spragge has written to also tell me that Stone is going to
- 1:39:12do a sequel to JFK and then he'll go into the HSCA investigation, etc.
- 1:39:18So since I won't be around by then, I'm preparing a package of
- 1:39:23tapes and my HSCA cover up book and other important documents I'll have so he'll
- 1:39:30give them to Oliver Stone for the next movie. I do have some good
- 1:39:33stuff there, too bad I can't see it when it comes out. Oh
- 1:39:36well, I guess one can't have everything, right. I hope this letter
- 1:39:42finds you and yours and as good mouth as possible. My right kidney is
- 1:39:46killing me from the extremely uncontrollable diabetes I have, which is doing me in
- 1:39:54anyway. Just wanted to thank you for your letter to Anita and also most
- 1:39:59assuredly for our friendship to and fro through the years. May you in the
- 1:40:02Missis stay as well as you can. Please say hello to her from me
- 1:40:06and Anita. Thanks friend for everything and God bless you best regards head and
- 1:40:14Anita. So Gandolpho has just told Harold Wiseberg he's got it best two months
- 1:40:25to go. Apparently he's in the last stage of kidney failure. So Harold
- 1:40:36writes back, dear ted. As trite as it seems, and no matter
- 1:40:43what the odds, it remains true. They're where there is life, there
- 1:40:46is hope. So let us hope for the miracle your doctors do not expect.
- 1:40:56I could have died from the first venus from bosis I had in nineteen
- 1:41:00seventy five. I could have died from the mistakes made when I had a
- 1:41:04plastic artery placed in my left eigh. I almost did twice. The second
- 1:41:11time. The surgeons working until two am had not expected me to survive,
- 1:41:15as they told me the next day. There were two emergency operations after the
- 1:41:19insertion of the plastic artery. The local cardiologists did not tell me what he
- 1:41:25told my family doctor that he did not expect me to live through the open
- 1:41:29heart surgery that I had in nineteen eighty nine. But I did sure.
- 1:41:33I was lucky. I still hope I'll continue to be this lucky because I
- 1:41:38was just told that I've had three small strokes. So however long the odds
- 1:41:45continue, to hope, you lose nothing by it. You are as prepared
- 1:41:49as you can be. Try to live as close to normal life as you
- 1:41:54can with the time you have left. I know what that means. I've
- 1:41:58been on barred time for many years. I do not mean to suggest that
- 1:42:02all medical problems are alike in this, and obviously they're not. But I
- 1:42:06do make the most of each day, and it does not hurt a bit
- 1:42:14to think of the good things we've done. So despite what you say,
- 1:42:19I do, my friend, hope for a miracle for you, sincerely now
- 1:42:32Yeahandolpho's obituary had appeared in the March third, nineteen three issue of Paul Hawk's
- 1:42:41journal Echoes of Conspiracy. I confided his readers to send expressions of sympathy for
- 1:42:46donations to the late researcher's widow, Anita Jagio Gandolpho. In a recent letter,
- 1:42:56Anita Kiazo Kyagio confirmed her husband's passing. M So miraculously, folks.
- 1:43:21A month after passing, Ted Gandolphin was resurrected in April of ninety three.
- 1:43:36Copies to Lane Wext Wiseberg. Hello gents, Yes, I'm still alive.
- 1:43:45I had to circulate the quote news that I died so as to provide anonymity
- 1:43:49for myself so that I could travel to somewhere to see some people attaining to
- 1:43:54an important aspect of the JFK case you'll no doubt be hearing about in the
- 1:43:58near future. Oh it was worth it, Okay, okay, I just
- 1:44:02thought you might want to read from an undated but very recent new newsletter that
- 1:44:06is making us rounds across the country. M So somebody of course sent Harold
- 1:44:20does even though he got his own copy. Who says it's Carold? Is
- 1:44:25this Ted g for real? This is Cyril Wick? I wrote a letter
- 1:44:30of condolence to his wife a year or so ago. What do you know
- 1:44:34about his rigged demise, Cyril? I mean, there's not much more get
- 1:44:47to your things that you can do to your friend friends, then fake your
- 1:45:04own death. I mean, what the fuck? And what spurned his resurrection
- 1:45:19was Apparently Ted Gandolpho had finally seen the article we read earlier about the Garrison
- 1:45:28Gandolpho smoking mirror show that somebody had finally forwarded to him, and he penned
- 1:45:36a letter directly to mister G. W. Rowell, the editor of The
- 1:45:43Investigator, an open letter and rebuttal to J. G Row's article by Ted
- 1:45:50Gandolpho. Mister Rowell, I have today received a portion of your undated Investigator
- 1:45:58newsletter which includes a four page section entitled to Garrison Gandolfo's Smoke and Mirror Show.
- 1:46:04Since this article represents a rather obvious attack on Garrison, who is now
- 1:46:08dead and cannot answer, and myself who can, I think that in the
- 1:46:13interest of fairness about this, my rebuttal to your article be published in your
- 1:46:16next newsletter to it. Upon recently release meeting your article, I discovered several
- 1:46:26inaccuracies in it which I'm compelled to rebut since these inaccuracies have the effect of
- 1:46:31contradicting us B and G, as well as putting into question our veracity,
- 1:46:38a point by point rebuttal follows, so he goes down through this. For
- 1:46:45instance, on the first page of your article, you state, mister Garrison
- 1:46:47has opened yet another smoke and mirror magic illusion show with take Gandolfo to show
- 1:46:53for him well, if assisting a man who conducted the only truthful investigation pretending
- 1:46:59to the fascination as being in your terminology. As shill, I'll simply take
- 1:47:03it from where it comes and proudly rested on my laurels. You stated that
- 1:47:11I have quote waited for approximately nine years for evidence to surface from either mister
- 1:47:15Garrison or Gandolpho to prove that any of their claims are real. Question since,
- 1:47:23as mentioned above, this material has been suppressed in the National Archives for
- 1:47:26fifty years and are inaccessible to anyone, how can you blame us for our
- 1:47:31inability to prove any of our claims? Again, if you had explosive evidence
- 1:47:41on tape of a conspiracy by the conspirators, you'd think you'd make a copy
- 1:47:46of that ship before you handed it over to the federal government to put in
- 1:47:50the National Archives. Just say it, and he goes on and on in
- 1:47:58a two page rant. But this is what resurrected ted Yandolpho. Now we're
- 1:48:14up to nineteen ninety four, folks. Dear Harold, I have just today
- 1:48:21received your letter in which you are quite pissed off or something I know absolutely
- 1:48:27fucking nothing about. I let him need to read it too, and we
- 1:48:30both think you've been sent that you have sent me a letter which I never
- 1:48:33received. You may, but you may that I to respond to the simple
- 1:48:42questions I asked you about radio talk shows that might use my response to Posner
- 1:48:49and his dishonest book. That's what you just now wrote me, Harold.
- 1:48:55I never received any letter from you regarding this at all, So we agree
- 1:49:00that you must have sent me a letter about this which I've never received,
- 1:49:05or which your failing memory has eluded you. That you wrote me a letter
- 1:49:13but you never actually did or never actually sent. You should know me better
- 1:49:17to know that if I had received since a letter from you, I would
- 1:49:20have done that which you asked me to do immediately and undeniably. Such is
- 1:49:27my immense respect for you, sir. But again, I never received that
- 1:49:32letter from you at all, so I couldn't naturally understand what you now wrote
- 1:49:36me about obviously, if regarding this what you wrote me that I never received.
- 1:49:42But anyway, if you still need my help in whatever matter, if
- 1:49:46you still need me, please let me know as soon as possible, and
- 1:49:49I guarantee you that I will do my best to assist you with a herald.
- 1:49:54I know that something on mail has been fucked with as I'm sending out
- 1:49:57tapes in a book to many people who have are ordering them from me,
- 1:50:01and then I get letters saying they they ever received that which I definitely sent
- 1:50:05them. So I guess you can credit the FBI for doing this to me.
- 1:50:11Please let me know what you request from me, and I want me
- 1:50:14to recomply. Okay, okay, Please also and your hopefully soon letters me
- 1:50:19explaining what I wrote. Asked you about are you the news that I and
- 1:50:26then Needa heard on radio and TV? What about this news story about James
- 1:50:30are already getting a new trial. I'd be most appreciative of you. Let
- 1:50:33me know what you know about the story we have just recently heard about.
- 1:50:39Hoping to hear from you, I remain sincerely yours, Ted. After receiving
- 1:50:54this and a little bit that I wrote before about the little note from erro
- 1:51:00Wet about Ted Gandolpho is amazing resurrection and May of ninety three, Harold wrote
- 1:51:11Cyri Wect and said, Dear Cyril, it is the real Ted Gandolfo.
- 1:51:17Only he would conceive of such a stunt with such an invalid reason for it.
- 1:51:24I did not respond to his offerer of a free VCR. There was
- 1:51:27no flyer in what he sent me, And this is apparent that we've heard
- 1:51:30nothing about his major event. If we hear, I doubt it will be
- 1:51:34even cunnible. However, he is not capable of producing an all inclusive total
- 1:51:42history of the JFK assassination. The last time he made such a big claim,
- 1:51:48he said he'd hurt eight hours of what Fritz recorded when he interviewed Oswald
- 1:51:55that amounted to nothing. He told me he had the tapes in a bank
- 1:52:00box in New York and again provided and produced nothing. Do I have to
- 1:52:06ask what kind of person pretends he is in terminal illness and then died,
- 1:52:13if I recall correctly first asking for money for his wife. Maybe we'll hear
- 1:52:18further from him about this. Maybe not. We'll see, and for your
- 1:52:23information only, I took a selection of livingstones menacing letters to the State's Attorney's
- 1:52:27office, spoke to and gave them to an assistant. He thought they were
- 1:52:31He thought there might be violations of federal laws and some of them, and
- 1:52:35I am to hear further after she reads them and then talks to her boss.
- 1:52:41My hunch is that while he has violated the Maryland Code, they will
- 1:52:45be unwilling to prosecute because it involves a so called writer and a so called
- 1:52:49book. He was to have turned those manuscripts in three weeks ago. I'm
- 1:53:00reusing clear sided paper, discarded pages, hundreds of them of the new book.
- 1:53:05In fact, I drafted the whole thing on such paper. Maybe save
- 1:53:11a bit of oil, if not a tree, maybe some branches. Best
- 1:53:16wishes here to which was included attention a special addition to his news letter and
- 1:53:28Ted Gandolfo. Ted Gaindolfo produces historic, all inclusive twenty two hour videotape complete

- 1:54:58need again. Indolpho blah blah blah. Remember truth is power. You'll treasure
- 1:55:03these videotapes for years to call Hey and then Pro Magazine nineteen This is August
- 1:55:24nineteen ninety three Pro Magazine. Lee Harvey Oswald admitted his employment by the Office
- 1:55:30of Naval Intelligence and Other Espionage Agencies or SO claims formerly deceased researcher at Gandolpho.
- 1:55:42Gandolpho made his assertions on Roy Tuckman's Something's Happening Program, broadcast June thirteenth,
- 1:55:47nineteen ninety three on Los Angeles radio station KPFK, a Pacific affiliate.
- 1:55:56According to Giandolpho, Captain Will Fritz of the Dallas Police secretly recorded Oswald the
- 1:56:00entire fourteen hours of Oswald's interrogation and then suppressed the tapes. Two assassination researchers
- 1:56:10reportedly now possessed these tapes and will make them available at a major press conference
- 1:56:15on November twenty second, nineteen ninety three. Every tree in the forest will
- 1:56:20fall in Daffo and also says, speaking on the same program a week earlier,
- 1:56:28Robert Groden also referred to the secret Oswald's confessions. According to Groten,
- 1:56:33a right winger has possessed these important recordings for a number of years. Dallas
- 1:56:44police have always insisted that they neither recorded the interview or took notes. Although
- 1:56:49he has not heard the tapes himself, but Old Wiseberg that he did.
- 1:56:56Gandolfo reports that Oswald admitted he was in the office, was enabled intelligent intelligence,
- 1:57:01that he was a CIA contract employee with the number one one zero six
- 1:57:08sixty nine, and then he was a paid SBI's former who was paid two
- 1:57:12hundred dollars a month with the number SI or SASH one seven two Yeah.
- 1:57:24Gandolfo also played a telephone interview with the late Jim Garrison, in which Garrison
- 1:57:30reported that HSCA researchers had attained a confession from a participant in preassassination planning meetings.
- 1:57:38Garrison felt it revealing this new information would get the investigators here who are
- 1:57:43communicating with me, in trouble and that they would get fired. I wish
- 1:57:47I could tell you how far they've gone, the progress they've made. It's
- 1:57:51past conspiracy, it's past prima facia. It's solid evidence on tape. But
- 1:57:58Blakey seems to have gotten hot in his ears. According to Garrison, a
- 1:58:01JCA investigator, Cliff Finton, had procurity taped confession from a participant in a
- 1:58:08preassassination planning meeting. Lakey, Garrison charge suppressed this evidence. Gandolfo cold the
- 1:58:18KPFK audience that they confessed assassination accomplice was named Thomas Beckham. According to Gandolpho,
- 1:58:31Beckham had provided Finton with maps of the daily Pleasant Plaza firing zones and
- 1:58:38the names of the conspirators, which included convicted Watergate burglar Frank Sturgis. Gandolpho
- 1:58:45reports to Beckham, acting under CIA auspices, sat in on a conspiratorial meeting
- 1:58:51held in New Orleans. I'm sorry, held a no name key in the
- 1:58:55Florida Everglades. Other participants in these meetings allegedly included ready for this folks,
- 1:59:02Harry Dean, Richard Kase, Niguel Emilio Santana, Jack Lawrence Quote a crack
- 1:59:10shot from the West Coast, and Jim Hicks. After Fenton submitted his reports
- 1:59:18like he assigned two men to take Beckham's testimony. They scared him to death,
- 1:59:24said Gandolfo. They made him keep backtracking and backtracking. He knew that
- 1:59:29he was in hostile territory. In Yeah, Let's see the assassination. Archive
- 1:59:43and Research Center possesses a document written by Beckham in which he describes how,
- 1:59:48as a youth of sixteen in nineteen fifty nine, he came under the influence
- 1:59:54of Jack Martin and Guy Banister. Martin encouraged Beckham to adopt the pose of
- 1:59:59a priest and the Old Catholic Church. His ministry was actually affront for anti
- 2:00:03cast of Cuban activities. In the aa RC document, Beckham states that he
- 2:00:09overheard Cuban rebels discussed the possible assassination of President Kennedy. After the assassination,
- 2:00:17Beckham became partners with the bizarre Fred Lee Chrisman, who had worked in New
- 2:00:23Orleans with Banister and Martin during nineteen sixty three. During his investigation, Jim
- 2:00:29Garrison received a reported internal CIA document which identified Chrisman as an intelligence operative assigned
- 2:00:35to domestic duties. A number of assassination researchers believed that Chrispin strongly resembled the
- 2:00:42eldest of the three tramps. Arrested on November twenty second, nineteen sixty three,
- 2:00:47Garrison subpointed Chrisman to appear before the grand jury on November twenty first,
- 2:00:51sixty eight. Chrisman, then living in Washington, had become a far right
- 2:00:57radio commentator under the pseudonym John Cole. He evaded extradition. However, reporters
- 2:01:03discovered that Chrispin and Beckham co owns seven businesses which employed no one and provided
- 2:01:09no goods or services. Chrispin told Seattle reporters that Beckham had functioned as a
- 2:01:15banker for the anti Castro underground Friendly Crispin died in seventy six. Beckham still
- 2:01:20lives all Or an occasional country Western singer he may be operating under the pseudonym
- 2:01:27Mark Evans. So there's a girl, and Andolpho finally names the person responsible
- 2:01:43for taping these conversations. Turns out Thomas Beckham. Now this is all some
- 2:01:54twelve or thirteen years after Beckham said what he said to the HSCA investigators.
- 2:02:02Now, what he's claiming is that Fenton and five others went down, talked
- 2:02:13to Beckham, got his tape, and then sent Buris and Delsa down to
- 2:02:19sequester Beckham in a hotel and get the now damning HSCA Beckham testimony, and
- 2:02:30that they scared him to death in doing so. Is this a true story?
- 2:02:39I don't know. Beckham never claimed in his HSCA testimony or his book
- 2:02:45to have tape recorded a meeting of the conspirators, though if he had,
- 2:02:53I think he would have said so. But again, what do I know?
- 2:03:01Then would come up to looks like October of ninety three, And then
- 2:03:08this copy of the Investigator newsletter which had attacked gandolph I think Charrison before decides
- 2:03:15to polish piece by Gandolpho entitled Oswald's Interrogations Secretly Recorded by Ted Gandolpho. I
- 2:03:30first heard about Lee Harvey Oswald's fourteen hours of interrogations being secretly tape recorded when
- 2:03:35I read about it in Robert Groden and Harrison Edward Livingstone's book High Treason about
- 2:03:42a year ago, and decided to make this whole story up. Now I'm
- 2:03:45joking, I answered that there, he says. I thereupon wrote to Groydon
- 2:03:51twice about this, but I received no answer from him. Oddly, thereupon
- 2:03:57contacted many of my fellow long time researchers, asking them if they knew about
- 2:04:00this story, and only one of them, named not to be disclosed disclosed
- 2:04:04at this time knew about it. He said that these complete fourteen hours of
- 2:04:11oswald interrogations by the Dallas police were in the hands of two researchers, one
- 2:04:15of them he described as a right winger and the other a good guy on
- 2:04:21our side, we'll call mister X. He said he traveled to see and
- 2:04:28talked to X, and that he was told that Oswald said certain blockbuster things
- 2:04:32during his questioning. That he was in the employee of the ONI, but
- 2:04:38he was also in the employee of the CIA, and was also a paid
- 2:04:42informance for the FBI. I asked this researcher colleague of mine if he was
- 2:04:46allowed to listen to any of these tapes, and he said he didn't hear
- 2:04:49any of them. But when he did say to me that when of these
- 2:04:54tapes would be played at a major press conference that X would be giving in
- 2:04:58the near future, that retreat in the Forest will fall. I mentioned the
- 2:05:02above information during my appearance as a guest on Roy Tukman Something's Happening program,
- 2:05:08And I also mentioned in the fact that I was told that Captain Will Fritz
- 2:05:11of the Dallas Police Department secretly recorded the entire fourteen hours of Oswald's interrogation and
- 2:05:15then suppressed the tapes. That's the complete story as I know it, so
- 2:05:20we'll see Editor's note. I investigated the matter a little further and was told
- 2:05:26by a reliable source that hey researcher Gary Mack knew the man who installed the
- 2:05:31tape recorder for Captain Will Fritz. Prior to the assassination, the b researcher
- 2:05:39Jack White and Jim Mars had talked to a woman who reportedly had confirmed that
- 2:05:44Fritz actually had the tapes. See that Fritz was extremely mad at the FBI
- 2:05:49for taking over the case, and that is the reason he suppressed the tapes.
- 2:05:56Researcher Robert Groton is in possession of a copy of these tapes, and
- 2:06:00that it has been rumored that Groden will be holding a press conference about these
- 2:06:02tapes during the nineteen ninety three ASK conference in Dallas, Texas. As mister
- 2:06:11gandolfer ang as we says, we'll see all right, We're almost there,
- 2:06:21folks. Nineteen ninety four. Dear ted, I can't tell when you're four
- 2:06:35twenty eight. Here today was mailed because the post office took offense at you're
- 2:06:41reusing a stamp and didn't cancel it. Don't worry, though, I paid
- 2:06:46your postage for you. Next time you next time you write me a letter,
- 2:06:53make sure you're unclosed and closed. Seventy five cents, Teddy month.
- 2:07:01As you gathered, I was most surprised and disappointed, not from hearing from
- 2:07:05you. I can't I don't know what that says. Says that there have
- 2:07:16been complaints about big chunks of mail not being delivered in several places on your
- 2:07:21tapes. You know you can sure those for fifty dollars for only a dollar,
- 2:07:30for up to fifty dollars for only a dollar or are you just not
- 2:07:34sending them after people send you their money. I'd ask you about the shows
- 2:07:41you can contact. It can air me buy a phone during the unusual hours.
- 2:07:45I now have to keep to be in bed by six pm, but
- 2:07:51I'm up too early and ken for example, to late night West Coast shows.
- 2:07:57Some of them go on after I'm up, usually about one am,
- 2:08:01but it takes me a little time to get going as well as I as
- 2:08:05well as I now can. I know there are daytime talk shows in New
- 2:08:11York and those I hope you can make some arrangements with my case. Open
- 2:08:16book about twenty to twenty. What I wrote is out about a month now
- 2:08:22and have not arranged a single show. It does a job of Posner so
- 2:08:26well the publisher figured that they could get the rest, which is not which
- 2:08:31does even more of a job on him out entirely. Of course, I
- 2:08:35can do interview shows that are taped. My limited supply of copies are now
- 2:08:41gone. Wow. I did not believe that Oliver Stone would want it to
- 2:08:48have anything to do with me, because I am reasonable for the publicity that
- 2:08:52made it clear his JFK movie is not non fiction, as he said,
- 2:08:58and I guess he got this off. He goes on and says, I
- 2:09:05have no confidence at all in this supposed new James Earl Ray stuff. I
- 2:09:11really do not believe it and from what I know, it does not check
- 2:09:15out with the existing facts. Blah blah blah. His lawyer, Bill Pepper,
- 2:09:20formerly a friend of Mark Lane, is now practicing in London and living
- 2:09:22in England. Blah blah blah, losing paper. They're very deeper than Lane
- 2:09:28did, Like Crying Wolf. If they get something, the courts then will
- 2:09:33ignore it. Best Harold. And the last bit of correspondence we have from
- 2:09:41ted Gian Dolfbo They're Harold, sorry for the delay and answering your latest letter.
- 2:09:50R. E. Pasna, But I've just gotten today out of the
- 2:09:54hospital where I stayed because of my very high sugar diabetes. Harold. When
- 2:10:01posts Brook first came out, he was to be on wba L or w
- 2:10:09BAI radio here in New York, and the station manager wrote me about his
- 2:10:13going to be on and his knowing of microdential's in the case. He told
- 2:10:18me to call in and straightened poster out with the facts. I called up,
- 2:10:28and to make a long story short, in twenty minutes. I proceeded
- 2:10:31to give the lie to his lies, so much so that I left him
- 2:10:37actually stuttering all over the place at the end of it. Harold, So
- 2:10:41why in hell are you concerned with his nonsense at all? He is undeniably
- 2:10:48a paid propaganda asset, disinformation puppet for the CIA. Anyone who knows anything
- 2:10:54at all about the case, as you most certainly do, say the least
- 2:10:58no to say the least, knows that he's full of shit anyway. So
- 2:11:03it's like debating another asshole like say David Belan or any of the other bullshitting
- 2:11:09apologists love for the War and Commission or for the HSCA, isn't it So?
- 2:11:15As for Posner, his own words, he says everywhere does him into
- 2:11:20anyone? So why bother with him at all? Harold? But if you're
- 2:11:24so inclined to do so, you can write to w BAI FM radio and
- 2:11:28addresses to mister Bob Patt Bob Fast there, and I'm sure he'll allow you
- 2:11:33to speak on the air on one of his shows he has one Thursday nights
- 2:11:37starting at midnight. Phone number is this, and arrange for him to call
- 2:11:41you back. That's what I suggest you do, Harold. I'm still sending
- 2:11:46out tapes, newsletters and my HSCA cover a book, so I'm still out
- 2:11:50there in forming the masses. Three newsletters have advertised me, so business is
- 2:11:56very good and I'm kept pretty busy now days. Hoping this finds you in
- 2:12:01the missis okay, best regards head Now, that letter, the last one
- 2:12:09I wrote to you, is the very last correspondence between these two researchers in
- 2:12:18the Wiseberg archives. I have looked high and low, folks for any information
- 2:12:26regarding Ted Gandolpho's passing. We know when Harold Wiseberg passed, and I believe
- 2:12:35it wasn't until the early two thousands. But I can find nothing on Gandolpho
- 2:12:41past nineteen ninety four, so it appears he may have been He may have
- 2:12:48either dropped off the face of the earth or passed away, but either way,
- 2:12:56at the very end, you know, when you have lived a life
- 2:13:03of deceit, lies and promise is not fulfilled, the only person you can
- 2:13:16count on likely is yourself, and that is where you're left with yourself.
- 2:13:28So a piece of advice to all those out there interested in the case,
- 2:13:31do not become so obsessed with it that it consumes your soul. Make sure
- 2:13:39you make time to spend with your family. Make sure you make time to
- 2:13:46follow your passions in life other than trying to solve that you have the assassination,
- 2:13:52Like if you like to play golf, make time for golf, and
- 2:13:56if you like to go fishing, go fishing. Spend time with your kids.
- 2:14:00Do good things. Keep your brain healthy, folks, then you'll be
