- 0:00Hello, everybody. We're at it again. And I am so
- 0:04thrilled that you joined me on this journey of exploration and
- 0:07transformation. And I'm your host, Ewa McCoy. And I
- 0:11bring almost 30 years of entrepreneurial experience and passion
- 0:15for discovering growth through the power of seemingly small
- 0:19change. So I know there are lots of places you could spend your time in,
- 0:22so I'm excited that you're spending some time with me on this entrepreneurial
- 0:26journey of exploration and inspiration. And this
- 0:30week, we are talking with one of my favorite people, Patricia
- 0:33Dent. Hey, Patricia. Hey there, Yvonne.
- 0:37How's it going? It is. You know, if you wake up every
- 0:41morning, you can say it's a good day. Yes. That's
- 0:44true. It is true. So so you and I
- 0:48have talked often and and have have had a lot of fun
- 0:51together. So I doubt seriously that we will
- 0:55have a problem instilling some, incredible
- 0:59Having some fun. Yeah. Having some fun and and and giving
- 1:02people some thoughts. So why don't you tell everybody what
- 1:06it is you do, what you're passionate about, and what was the one
- 1:10because we all have lots of them, but one of the many small changes
- 1:14that made an impact in your life or business.
- 1:18Happy to do that because I think mastering change is
- 1:21huge. That's my personal belief. So I'm an entrepreneurial trainer and
- 1:25coach and I have been for the last 14 years. It may be even a
- 1:29little bit more than that I should count, but for the past at
- 1:32least 14 years I have been introducing startups
- 1:37to how to start up and set up their business and then grow it and
- 1:41then I kind of hand off to other people where they
- 1:44can, grow more fully if they're, if they want to,
- 1:48it's really a personal decision but that training process
- 1:52I take it, to quite a lengthy,
- 1:57distance because I'm actually interested in the exit part of
- 2:01business as well and even from the very beginning I would ask
- 2:04people, so you're starting a business, what's your exit
- 2:08strategy do you think? And they would say for the most part, you've got to
- 2:12be kidding me, you You know, what are you what what are you talking about?
- 2:15I'm just starting. You know, leave me alone. You say
- 2:18that and that I mean, I know that that's what you're doing now, but
- 2:22that was not originally what I think I
- 2:26knew you for. True. Because I've really mostly focused
- 2:30on startup, but although I and I will focus more on exit
- 2:33because we're about to have a massive change in the entrepreneurial infrastructure
- 2:37in terms of the, aging out of of different
- 2:41classifications of entrepreneurs. But,
- 2:44startup for me also means, okay, do you
- 2:48think you might want to exit your business by selling
- 2:52it? Do you think you might want to pass it along to your family?
- 2:56Danger, danger, if you're going to think about,
- 3:01not that your family is terrible people, but if you're thinking about
- 3:04that, one of my colleagues at the local chamber of commerce, I'm on the
- 3:08board there, I said said to him you've got this really great,
- 3:12business in the trades. What do you see as your exit
- 3:16strategy? Because I know darn well he's getting up there a
- 3:20little. And he said, oh, I thought I would just give it to the kids.
- 3:23I said I I gotta stop you there because because
- 3:27so far there's, like, a lot of wisdom to unpack. First of all, it
- 3:31is a wonderful strategy when you're putting your business together
- 3:35to think about what the end result is going to be. What do where do
- 3:39you wanna end up regardless whether you're gonna sell it or whatever. And
- 3:43I think that in everybody's business, there is a point
- 3:46where you may want to pivot. You know, you've done this, you're
- 3:50really good at it, and you go, I really would like to do something else.
- 3:53Maybe I will That's true. You know? And so it
- 3:57doesn't have to be just that you're up in age and you're getting rid
- 4:01of it. It That's true. And I think, you know, the
- 4:05other thing you said when you introduced yourself about change is,
- 4:09you know, that is a big thing for me too. Change is constant.
- 4:13It is. And if you want to keep getting clients, you have
- 4:16to stay relevant, which means that you have to do some change. And that
- 4:20change may be, I need to get into a different business. It
- 4:24could be. That's very valid. Absolutely. So there is so much
- 4:28so much dynamic so many dynamic pieces that are going on in
- 4:32this Mhmm. That the idea of starting with you know, well,
- 4:35I I call it dead reckoning. Where is it that you wanna end up? What
- 4:38do you wanna be remembered for for your 1 100th birthday? But Exactly.
- 4:42But the business perspective of putting together something
- 4:46that somebody else may want. And and I have to laugh when you say
- 4:50family because my family my family still
- 4:53goes, I don't know what you do. That's true. Oh, my
- 4:57God. That is so true for so many entrepreneurs. It's one of the things that
- 5:00drives us insane. Your family doesn't understand why I'm doing
- 5:04this and what I'm doing. Exactly. And, you know, I have had clients
- 5:08that, you know, are getting ready to, you know, expand
- 5:12their staff. And the first thing they think is, I'll give my kid a job.
- 5:15And I'm like, no. Maybe not.
- 5:18Let's I end I understand the reason for that, but let's talk
- 5:22about what you actually need and then see if your your
- 5:26child has those qualities and those skills, you know. Well, if
- 5:30I can say one or one quick thing about that particular person that I talk
- 5:33to who is in the trades, guess what his kids did? 1
- 5:37was a lawyer, 1 was in finance. I said, did you ask
- 5:41them? And when he finally did, imagine what they said.
- 5:45No. The catastrophe that I
- 5:49had was they were looking for somebody to manage in an
- 5:52accounting office. Okay. And their
- 5:56kid had been in the culinary arts. Oh.
- 6:00And I said I said, how did when you've had to, like, correct
- 6:03somebody and and give them bad news, how did you do that?
- 6:07And he said, I told him to go in the in the pooler and cry
- 6:10it out.
- 6:15So, you know, that that's that that's the first
- 6:18trap. That's the first challenge, I think, for entrepreneurs is
- 6:22that we tend to want to get hire and involve
- 6:26our family and friends who have may have our best interests at
- 6:30heart, but typically do not have the skills that we need. Alright. So we
- 6:34went on a totally different tangent. Let's get back. We did. Well well, one of
- 6:38the things I in terms of change, particularly, and this has been
- 6:41a particularly eventful 4 years that we've been in, you know,
- 6:45who who's ever been in a pandemic that lasted, whatever,
- 6:49and who wanted to have a downturn after we went through the pandemic?
- 6:53So it's been quite a time of change. So the two things that are
- 6:57really key for me are relationships with other entrepreneurs
- 7:00and your community and the idea
- 7:04that you can actually change things
- 7:08so that if you don't and through that
- 7:13my actually my small change if you wanted to hear about that now, if you
- 7:15can hear about it later if you want, but, the small change that I found
- 7:17really helpful is to unlock your mindset, not necessarily become a
- 7:21guru,
- 7:26become really adept at meditation or whatever it is, but
- 7:30to unlock that negativity that we often
- 7:33get nailed into, particularly if we look at the
- 7:37conditions all around us, and maybe the conditions aren't so
- 7:41welcoming, So that's the small change I've actually gone
- 7:44through very recently. And and it is
- 7:48my my version of that was,
- 7:52believe it or not, a combination of 2 things. 1 was
- 7:56Ted Lasso Okay. And one was and there
- 8:00was a podcast that went with that that had a positive
- 8:03psychologist and a leadership coach that right? Right.
- 8:07And the other was this, you know, of course I took on positivity.
- 8:11And it has totally changed
- 8:15the way that I look at things. It has totally unlocked opportunities,
- 8:19and which is why I now, at the end of my at the end of
- 8:22my newsletter, go stay curious. You know, and
- 8:26Ted Lasso said in an episode, are you being curious or are you being
- 8:30judgmental? And I found myself in the
- 8:33judgmental camp far too much. Right.
- 8:37Right. And so, you know, it's interesting when you
- 8:42you're curious and you say, tell me more about that before you
- 8:46go, oh, that's not gonna work, or why would you do that?
- 8:49You know? I know far too many people who do that immediately.
- 8:53They find the fault because they wanna, and maybe it's a
- 8:57process that they go through in order to find the fit, but it's a
- 9:01very negative process. So I, was recently, in
- 9:04fact, this earlier this week from somebody you know who's in
- 9:08a, Minds RA, mastermind with us
- 9:12and suggested, you know, I think you should look at this person. And
- 9:16that was this is very new, but it's I feel like I'm at
- 9:20home. So it was David Baer and he's written a book called
- 9:23Mindhack And that is an easy way
- 9:27of kind of taking a lot of complexity with positivity
- 9:31and giving you a place to start. So I was really grateful for that
- 9:34because you can get into this this I guess it's like
- 9:38a shell. It's almost like, you know, having a closed mind that
- 9:42has to process the amygdala is way too busy in those
- 9:46minds. You know, the other thing and one of the bad things about this
- 9:49particularly is for entrepreneurs who are bringing
- 9:53on people, hiring people. Yes. The management style
- 9:57is typically you you always tell them what they did wrong because
- 10:01you're always under some kind of time constraint, and you need to get it fixed
- 10:04or whatever. Very rarely do we tell
- 10:08people what they're doing right. And I think that's why, you know, the
- 10:11one minute manager is such a good a simple thing. It's
- 10:15like, you know, you tell people when they
- 10:19do something good, and it doesn't have to be that sandwich. Like, you did
- 10:22this good, but this bad happened, and now this is you know? It can
- 10:26just what a great job. You did exactly what I expected. I'm
- 10:30you know? Thank you. Right? Right. And and you know what?
- 10:34People will ask if they're conscious about their own performance and they want to
- 10:38do better. They will ask, how can I do better? But if they're
- 10:41afraid of what you're going to say, that sandwich was what was that? The
- 10:45nineties I think? Where it was yes say something nice then say
- 10:49something terrible then say something nice again. It'll make it all better.
- 10:53Right? Yeah. So I you know and I think one of the reasons I
- 10:56like the the model of creativity is
- 11:00that, I think sometimes for those of
- 11:04us that are in business, we can look at
- 11:07positivity as like a woo woo thing. Do you know if it's like
- 11:11Sometimes. Yes. You know? And and and I have to tell you that
- 11:15I come from a place of being
- 11:19highly type a, highly focused.
- 11:24I'm a totally different person than you know, when when I first
- 11:28got married, a friend of Oscar said to him, you know, I really
- 11:31like Yvonne, but talking to her is like talking to a calculator. I feel
- 11:35like I'm under interrogation. How much is it gonna cost? When are we gonna do
- 11:39this? How much time is it gonna take? You know, I was just like,
- 11:42mhmm. You know? On on everything that we did.
- 11:46So, you know, but curiosity,
- 11:50I know, is necessary for creativity. Creativity
- 11:54is necessary for innovation. It
- 11:57is. Absolutely. With people, part of that
- 12:01innovation and change is the transformation that
- 12:05you're gonna provide. And all of that starts with curiosity. If
- 12:09you can't be curious, you're not gonna be able to do that, get
- 12:12to that transformation. No, and I don't know
- 12:16about you, but I got a little tired of having change thrust
- 12:20on me, because and I realized one of the one of
- 12:24the reasons that I think it kept happening was that when
- 12:28change was happening it was not necessarily in my control, and
- 12:31that's okay because that can happen a lot, but I felt
- 12:35like I was being, layered with all of these different
- 12:39things. One thing it did do is it forced me
- 12:42to talk to a change as if I were, okay
- 12:46what are you about? That curiosity that you mentioned, instead
- 12:50of approaching it with, oh no, I'm gonna have to do this
- 12:54again, it I realized it opened up the doors,
- 12:57And that's really important because I've had change throughout my entire life,
- 13:01some of it pretty major, and some of it I think you
- 13:05know. But, I can remember thinking,
- 13:08okay, this is gonna happen, so what are you gonna do to
- 13:12be able to make it a comfortable change? And and I think
- 13:16the other part to that that's so important is
- 13:21how can I say this? I think because there's so many things we can't
- 13:24control Yes. We we wanna hold on it's
- 13:28it's like the tighter you hold on to something, the less control you
- 13:32actually have. And it comes and it comes from a a
- 13:35perspective of fear or scarcity. Always.
- 13:39If if if I do the you know? And one of
- 13:43the things that one of the best pieces of advice that I ever got
- 13:47from somebody, which I'm very thankful for,
- 13:51is I was like, alright. How do how do we figure out
- 13:55if this you know, we're gonna do a collaboration. How do we figure out who
- 13:58this client, you know, goes with or whatever? And there was this
- 14:02long silence, and I'm like, okay. I just stuck my foot in
- 14:05it. And he's thinking, what a terrible person. You know?
- 14:09And he said, you know what I found out? That the
- 14:13better quality of person you work with, the less you even have to
- 14:17worry about that because they know that the client
- 14:20is the person who makes that choice. It's not your choice or my choice.
- 14:24It's their choice. And I was like, oh my
- 14:28god. That is so wonderful. Light bulb. Right? No. But
- 14:32it's when you when you are coming from a place of scarcity, it's like this
- 14:35client is my client, you know, and I you know? As opposed to
- 14:39saying, you know, you should decide what's right for you.
- 14:44Absolutely. And, you know, one of the things it's a relief to actually
- 14:47take that position because you can't control most of
- 14:51this anyway, so if you can't then, you know, you
- 14:55might as well, be at peace with what's what's happening and
- 14:58find out if it's possible. One of the the switches
- 15:02over time that I found, I used to think that I could serve
- 15:06everybody, you know, the great the greatness no more, yeah,
- 15:10that and that is of course, you know, not true,
- 15:13but one of the things that I found is I tend to gravitate to heart
- 15:17centered people who have a mission, who want to do something that's
- 15:21important, and I love that because helping
- 15:24people make the world a better place is just a joy and most of
- 15:28them are very grown up which is lovely. The ones who
- 15:31are hanging on tightly to control, they haven't,
- 15:35it's almost like the 3 year old, you know, having a tantrum,
- 15:39yeah, so I'd rather not have to deal with that, I'd rather be
- 15:42able to have things evolve and if you can just step back a little
- 15:46bit, it's a good thing. One of the things I I have in
- 15:49my entrepreneurial mindset class because that's
- 15:53a unit in my training because people aren't always aware
- 15:57is the pyramid of evil stuff. I don't know if I've ever talked to you
- 16:01about that. Oh, you never have. Okay. Well, I actually have
- 16:05a a slide that has a little pyramid on it, and it
- 16:08talks about all of the things that really get in our
- 16:12way, and just make our whole thing miserable,
- 16:15and the of course I bet you could guess what's at the
- 16:19top, but fear. Fear is at the top because
- 16:22fear drives so many of our things, you know, our our,
- 16:26our scarcity responses that you mentioned, so many of them.
- 16:30And of course up there is I can't and motivation and
- 16:34procrastination. It's one of the things that if you can't figure
- 16:37out how to do, something, then you know
- 16:41something is is worrying you underneath, and it would be a really good idea
- 16:45to find out what that is for sure.
- 16:48Imperfectionism, that's another one. That's one of my faves too.
- 16:52Well, I think, you know, there are many places
- 16:56where we have intersections of the same ideas. Absolutely.
- 16:59And so you're talking about your pyramid of
- 17:03Evil stuff. Evil stuff. Sorry. And and I'm
- 17:07gonna sneeze. I'm sorry. At some point, I'm like oh, dear.
- 17:11Okay. And so for me, you know, part of that is
- 17:15the limiting beliefs that so many of them come from our childhood. And
- 17:19Totally. If you take a look at them, most of them are there because, you
- 17:22know, our parents are trying to keep us safe. Society and our parents
- 17:26are trying to keep us safe, which may have worked as a child but do
- 17:29not serve us well now, partially because we're not children and also
- 17:33the world is very different. You know? That's true.
- 17:37I mean, you know, when you were growing, I don't know about you, but when
- 17:40I was growing up, the whole goal was to get a job that you could
- 17:42stay in for 30 years and then retire, which is totally
- 17:46disappeared from the face of the earth pretty much, you know, for
- 17:50most people. But I think I wanna go
- 17:53back because one of the things that I think is really important is although we're
- 17:57talking about changing and creativity and stuff like that, I think
- 18:00that's why it is so I should I I
- 18:04should be curious instead of preaching, I should ask.
- 18:08I should use my Good job. So I'm
- 18:12still learning. I'm still, you know, I'm still trans listening.
- 18:15So the question is, in this kind of
- 18:19environment, how important is it that you're in
- 18:23touch with your values and,
- 18:26kind of your framework that you want for the work that you do? I
- 18:30think it's huge. I think you cannot you cannot
- 18:34operate with purpose, let's put
- 18:38it that way, do things with purpose without being
- 18:41comfortable with the value system that you have, and that is a,
- 18:45that is a, I think an eternal truth as well, and yes
- 18:49you're right there are some things that are going to come through and bubble up
- 18:52from our childhood that we really have to catch sight of
- 18:55and say do I really want to do that or not, that's where the amygdala,
- 19:00the I think of it as not a very great guy, comes
- 19:03in and keeps, to keep us safe. It's that doubting voice that
- 19:07says I don't know, I don't know if you can do this, I think
- 19:10that's pretty scary. So often it's actually been
- 19:14trained while we were kids, and one of the things, if you
- 19:18have a value, if you have a value of say, saying truth to yourself,
- 19:22and you recognize something like that, then you can do something about
- 19:25it, right, so values are huge. I don't want to
- 19:29hurt my fellow entrepreneurs or my fellow citizens, I don't want to
- 19:33do that. That's a value that I have. I also tell the
- 19:36truth, it's an important value, but I try
- 19:40to do it kindly, because I don't wanna judge
- 19:44people, but I will talk about the effect of on me
- 19:47or, you know, that did you notice what happened when you did
- 19:51that? Did it work out for you? Not particularly.
- 19:54So I think you can't, if you're figuring it out, you have to tell
- 19:58the truth, but you also have to go by your values to to not
- 20:02hurt people. And I think also that there are there are
- 20:05patterns that people go through. They go through the
- 20:10different speeds, they go, you know, but for instance, one of the patterns
- 20:13that I talked about is most entrepreneurs, you know, when they need to
- 20:17expand their workforce, go to family and friends, you know,
- 20:21and and and in some ways that's a positive value. I
- 20:25wanna help my family. I wanna help my friends. But,
- 20:28you know, you have to take, you know, because that's what you were told, you
- 20:31know, your sister is, you know, take care of your sister or
- 20:35whatever the case may be. Yeah. This may not be the place to do it.
- 20:40I think it's dangerous, to be honest. I do. I I agree with
- 20:43you. I agree with you. Anyway Yeah. I think
- 20:47we need a whole another conversation. Possibly. We're just getting
- 20:51to the top of this. Right. And it is you know, every
- 20:55time I talk to you, you and I get into such a great conversation
- 20:58and, there's so many things that we believe
- 21:02in. And I think that
- 21:07we see them kind of from different ends, I guess.
- 21:12Different experiences. Right? From different experiences. Exactly. Exactly. So this is what
- 21:16I wanna do. Before we run out of time, I want you to give me,
- 21:20or and and the audience three things or some action steps that people
- 21:24can do to help them with what we've been talking
- 21:27with. With with mindset and coping with change. Okay.
- 21:33One of the things that I'd like them to do is just take a look
- 21:37at their own behavior and their own mindset and
- 21:40see if they can see a recurring pattern that they really aren't keen about,
- 21:45and I'll give you a quick example and that is, potentially I'm
- 21:49not getting to things. I have these ideas, I have these goals, but
- 21:52I'm not carrying them out because your behavior is an
- 21:56indicator of what's happening in your mindset, and so if you
- 22:00can just do a little review and say, and honestly you don't have to talk
- 22:03to other people about it, but to be able to recognize, yep, I'm
- 22:07not operating at my peak performance. I would
- 22:11also say it is important to embrace
- 22:14positivity in whatever way you can do it, and
- 22:18everybody has a different way. When I went through,
- 22:22we see it was 10 years ago I was diagnosed with 2 different kinds of
- 22:25breast cancer, and I had, I just bought a business, which
- 22:29was a little inconvenient, let me say. And so, one
- 22:33of my Reiki masters said, because I loved Reiki and I was taking
- 22:37Reiki at the time, she said, you must meditate, and she was
- 22:41just no bones about it, and so it took me about 2
- 22:44months using, I used Lazarus as an example, and it was
- 22:48more spiritually oriented, doesn't have to be, but for me it
- 22:52was. It took me 2 months to get into the habit, and when
- 22:56I did I found everything opened up.
- 23:00Now recently as I said the third thing is, okay it may not
- 23:03be meditation, but how are you opening up your
- 23:07mind to other people, so you need to really, even though
- 23:11you're really busy, and I understand that, but look
- 23:14at and, and review new people, new thought
- 23:18leaders, because you're going to learn something useful,
- 23:21and whether or not it's something that you have to do for 2 months until
- 23:25you get a little better at it, or whether you can just have an
- 23:28moment, that will break open that
- 23:32negativity and break open the possibility that you
- 23:36could fashion your mindset in your life a little differently,
- 23:39then I would do that. So it's about looking at yourself, and it's
- 23:43about thinking about the different things that you could do to be
- 23:47able to really advance your own mindset. Does that make
- 23:51sense? It does. And and, you know, one of the one of the things that
- 23:55I found really helpful for me, and this is my
- 23:58translation of this, so don't hold me to it, you know. It's
- 24:02okay. Wayne Dwyer had an exercise that he had you
- 24:06do at night. Mhmm. Before you went to sleep, you basically said, these
- 24:10are all the good things that I gotta accomplish today.
- 24:13And tomorrow, this is what I'm going to get done. Right.
- 24:17You know? And I think it just puts you in a point of I'm
- 24:21making progress. You know, it may not be perfect. I may not get finished, but
- 24:24I'm making progress, and I'm focusing on the things that I need.
- 24:28And your brain works on it while you're sleeping, and I find
- 24:32that, you know, so I think that there are lots of ways to do it
- 24:35and I think the more small ways you do it during the day,
- 24:39the better your overall results are gonna be. So what have you got for us?
- 24:43What are you gonna give us to help us? Well, it's more to do
- 24:46with, you know, how's your business doing and what are you doing for either those
- 24:50who are already started but may have to adapt and change
- 24:54because we are redefining ourselves lately or the
- 24:57people who'd like to start a business and that is, there are
- 25:01some, downloads that I've got on my site, askerdirectionstraining.com,
- 25:06and they're easy to get. One of them is how much does it really cost
- 25:10to start a business because one of the, I have one of 2 different
- 25:14kinds of people who join my training program. One of them is, I have no
- 25:17clue. Please help me. I would really like to do this step by step.
- 25:21The other people are, how difficult can it be?
- 25:26I know the thing that I want to do. I'm just going to start, and
- 25:29then it's, oh, there's other things that I have
- 25:33to do. So one of the things I did was put this document
- 25:36together, and one of the hints that I will tell you, if you haven't or
- 25:40you're still working in a job, go get a line of credit
- 25:44from the bank. Because if you
- 25:48don't and you I have been I can remember the shock
- 25:51when I was with the bank for 25 years, and they didn't care that
- 25:55I had all of this history. Once I I was an entrepreneur,
- 25:59it was like, no. No. We can't loan you money. So a line of
- 26:03credit while you're still employed is great, or if you go back to employment,
- 26:07get the line of credit if you can. That is such a good piece of
- 26:10advice because I know that when I got ready to start
- 26:14my business, I had decided that I was gonna
- 26:17refinance my house. It wasn't for the you know, it was like a lot of
- 26:21different things. And I realized that I had
- 26:24decided to leave my job, and I was like, oh my god. I
- 26:28hope this goes through before I leave lunch. That's exactly
- 26:32right. Exactly. I didn't think it through really well when
- 26:35I was doing it. It just, you know, it was something happened. I was like,
- 26:38that's it. I'm out of here. You know? Not even thinking about the other stuff.
- 26:42So that is a great piece of advice. Absolutely. Now there
- 26:46yeah. There is one other thing you could do, and that is if you can
- 26:49get a package when you leave, that's great. But that doesn't that's not in our
- 26:53control. Right? So yeah. That's fine.
- 26:56So alright. Here comes the surprise question. And that is,
- 27:01oh, but before I yeah. That is, when was the last time you did something
- 27:04new for the first time? Always. No. I'm kidding.
- 27:09When you're curious, you do more of them. Well, this this
- 27:13last year, because we had a slowdown in people in Canada, we
- 27:17we're a little more conservative than you guys, and we don't hop on new
- 27:20things if there's a downturn as quickly. And so one of the things I
- 27:24thought was I am going to do the things, the certifications that I
- 27:28want. So I did a facilitation certification,
- 27:31I did a flourishing business model canvas certification, and
- 27:35I pitched, the idea for exit to an incubator, and I'm
- 27:39in the incubator starting a new business. Is that enough?
- 27:43That was more than one new last time. It was. A lot of
- 27:47things. That's a little bit. I hate I hate to I hate to cut us
- 27:50off because I feel like we're just warming up. So we may have to do
- 27:54Patricia Dent, you know, 2.0. But until
- 27:57then, if you would, everybody that's listening, would
- 28:01take a minute to subscribe, to share, to, you know, engage with the
- 28:05podcast on social media, that would be great because it's a great way to
- 28:08grow the community. And I I I just did a post that said,
- 28:12you know, one of the things that that I'm really happy about is that
- 28:16the podcast is starting to grow a community and
- 28:20people are, interested. So I wanna make sure that, you
- 28:24know, that you continue to share and to listen to the One
- 28:27Small Change, and that we continue on this this journey
- 28:31of creativity and curiosity, and the small shifts
- 28:35that we can make in our life that will have monumental
- 28:38transformation. And you can always go back and listen to the
- 28:42first episode and see who else has been there that has joined us.
- 28:46So what last words are you want you know, do you
- 28:49want us to take away, Patricia? There are 2
- 28:53important things you really have to protect. 1 is your mindset,
- 28:57and one is your relationships because those are the things that
- 29:00sustain us as entrepreneurs. It's not magic, it seems
- 29:04very, you know, meat and potatoes, but that is the
- 29:07truth. Everything else is not as important, I
- 29:11think. So there you go. Well, I think I think
- 29:14there are what I call universal truths. Think that regardless
- 29:18whatever what other things change, they stay the same.
- 29:22So I think in that in that vein, I think it's
- 29:26important to remember that change can be simple, but it's not always easy.
- 29:30And it can inspire courage, resilience, and a willingness to
- 29:34step outside your comfort zone. So I hope that you guys are
- 29:38willing to do that so that you can see some bold
- 29:41you know, you can live in your bold vision and have some new innovative
- 29:45possibilities. And so I hope that you'll join
- 29:49me again. That would be lovely. I would love to do
- 29:52that. We do we do have conversations that go on. Yes.
- 29:57And so for the audience, I hope that you will join join me
- 30:01and other people in the one small change again. And until the next
- 30:05time, I hope you'll stay curious. And, Patricia, thank you so much for giving
- 30:09us this time and the free Thank you, Yvonne. To give it.
- 30:12I appreciate you.
