- 0:03Speaker 1: The podcast called twenty five whist fucking Basketball and they
- 0:09Speaker 1: all wear a whist so yeahs do, But why didn't
- 0:12Speaker 1: you expect it's a podcast called twenty five Whistles. What's
- 0:19Speaker 1: happening to everybody? Coach Bruce whatever will be on later,
- 0:22Speaker 1: which made the Final four in two thousand and five,
- 0:24Speaker 1: made the National Championship Game. It's weird they don't go
- 0:27Speaker 1: to that. They're always like, made the Final four, even
- 0:29Speaker 1: if they made the National Championship Game, like that's the
- 0:32Speaker 1: final four, is not the end all or the championship
- 0:35Speaker 1: because when they talk about him, like hey, final four
- 0:37Speaker 1: appearance and no National Championship Game appearance. But it's weird
- 0:39Speaker 1: because that's the name that they put on like pizza boxes,
- 0:42Speaker 1: like final four, Final four, yes, and maybe tweet sixteen.
- 0:47Speaker 1: But it's a different level here, the championship game. It
- 0:51Speaker 1: should be. So anyway, he's gonna be on with us.
- 0:53Speaker 1: He won the Coach of the Year of two thousand
- 0:54Speaker 1: and five, and I gotta get he's four ninety seven
- 0:58Speaker 1: in total wins as a head coach, so it's like,
- 1:00Speaker 1: you gotta do something. You gotta get three more coach somehow,
- 1:02Speaker 1: I don't know what you gotta do this two ka
- 1:05Speaker 1: count But no, I don't think so. Although shout out
- 1:07Speaker 1: to you, my friend, huh the Detroit, the Detroit Pistons.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Eddie's taking the Pistons. I think we're in ninety five.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Ninety five is our year, that one right now. We
- 1:17Speaker 1: started in ninety one or ninety two. And Eddie has
- 1:22Speaker 1: turned a bad Pistons team into a contenda. He got
- 1:24Speaker 1: Oliver Miller. Yeah, third in the MVP race right now
- 1:27Speaker 1: if you drafted him, Oh dude, he's awesome. He's like,
- 1:29Speaker 1: got a lot of rebounds right now. But here's the
- 1:31Speaker 1: thing I realized about my team is that I really
- 1:34Speaker 1: don't have a lot of depth in the center position.
- 1:36Speaker 1: So if I lose Oliver Miller, I've got lamb beer.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But then I'm in trouble with Power four with big guys.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Why don't you try to draft pick and get another
- 1:42Speaker 1: big guy. That's what I was thinking about. I was
- 1:44Speaker 1: thinking about that last one I do. I'm loaded a draft.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm trying to get Kevin Garnett this next year. So
- 1:48Speaker 1: I've drafted every bad I've given. I have no I
- 1:51Speaker 1: have depth, but it's not near as good as it
- 1:52Speaker 1: used to be and I'm trying to stalk up on
- 1:54Speaker 1: picks for ninety six because Kevin Garnets come out of
- 1:56Speaker 1: the draft at of high school and I'm trying to
- 1:58Speaker 1: get him. Are you taking No, I'm trying to with no. No,
- 2:00Speaker 1: no, no no, he's not he's nine to no. Yeah. And
- 2:02Speaker 1: the problem not a problem, but my team's getting older.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So I took Utah and switched him. Now they're than
- 2:07Speaker 1: the Nashville Nibblers. They played in Nashville net. Yeah, but
- 2:11Speaker 1: but his mascot's a gorilla, like a big fear teeth,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and so were the Nashville Nibblers. And so you could
- 2:17Speaker 1: pick any team you wanted to start with from like
- 2:19Speaker 1: ninety one, and I took Utah because they had both Malon's,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but Karl Malone was the big one and John Stockton
- 2:24Speaker 1: were both in the nineties. Yeah, so they they're getting older.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I tried to Karl Malone, got a ton for him
- 2:29Speaker 1: because he's getting older. I'm about to have trade John
- 2:31Speaker 1: Stockton too, he's like thirty three. All those dudes are
- 2:33Speaker 1: getting older. Yeah, I played against Patrick Ewing and ninety five,
- 2:38Speaker 1: but he's still legit. But you can see him losing
- 2:40Speaker 1: a step again. Yeah, a little wrinkler. Okay, well so
- 2:44Speaker 1: that's what. Do you play basketball at all? Recreationally? Yeah? Yeah,
- 2:49Speaker 1: Why don't you play in our two K league? Oh
- 2:52Speaker 1: no, no no, no, no, no, no, no video games? No.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I thought you're taking going actually play. I was talking
- 2:56Speaker 1: about really playing. But I'm saying I don't have a
- 2:58Speaker 1: PS five or Xbox right, but don't play it all
- 3:00Speaker 1: though either, and have no interest in it. Oh I do. Wait,
- 3:03Speaker 1: No playing video games? Oh my gosh, guys, who's on first?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Video games? No? No recreational being in our Madden League
- 3:12Speaker 1: or our NBA two K League. No, no, there's never
- 3:15Speaker 1: been a video Cool guys play video games now? Oh yeah?
- 3:19Speaker 1: The two games I play, but I love them, and
- 3:22Speaker 1: we played with our friends. We're gonna hit I mean,
- 3:24Speaker 1: we talk you. It's like fantasy football, but all year.
- 3:28Speaker 1: But it keeps you close to your buddies. Maybe NA
- 3:31Speaker 1: when that comes back. I love that they delay it
- 3:34Speaker 1: to year. I know, like like idiots. Anyway, Coach Webber
- 3:36Speaker 1: will be on. He's coached twenty three NBA players, over
- 3:39Speaker 1: one hundred players who have played professionally. I mean the
- 3:42Speaker 1: fact that he was an assistant at Purdue for eighteen years.
- 3:45Speaker 1: He mentions that like longest assistant tenure ever yea at
- 3:47Speaker 1: some point, although he did start really young and like
- 3:50Speaker 1: I don't know, you're seven or like, am I ever
- 3:51Speaker 1: not going to be an assistant? But it was it
- 3:53Speaker 1: for eighteen years and then had a crazy good career,
- 3:55Speaker 1: got something Illinois to the to the tournament, got Illinois
- 3:58Speaker 1: to the championship game, won some conference titles with Kansas State,
- 4:02Speaker 1: and he's coming on and we'll talk about basketball in
- 4:03Speaker 1: his life and career. But we didn't. The coolest thing,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and I mean this in the most complimentary way, is
- 4:08Speaker 1: that we would have like tracked down coach Webber to
- 4:12Speaker 1: get him. We didn't have to because the daughter's fan
- 4:14Speaker 1: and she reached out to us, who specifically me and Mike.
- 4:18Speaker 1: How did you get ahold of you guys? Instagram? Really? Yeah?
- 4:22Speaker 1: Dan on Instagram? And she said what just basically, Hey,
- 4:26Speaker 1: I'm a huge fan of the Bobby Bone Show. My
- 4:27Speaker 1: sisters and I we all listen, like we love the show,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and then we love the twenty five Whistles podcast. That's awesome.
- 4:32Speaker 1: My dad is Bruce Weber, and that's gotta love with that. Though, Hey,
- 4:35Speaker 1: my dad's Bruce Webber also, Yeah, we're like, we listened
- 4:38Speaker 1: every day and we'd love to have him on the
- 4:39Speaker 1: twenty five Whistles if you guys are interested. And yeah,
- 4:42Speaker 1: and then when they meet us and they talk with us,
- 4:44Speaker 1: they're already like in a good mood and they're not
- 4:46Speaker 1: worried about us because somebody from their family already vouches.
- 4:48Speaker 1: And I felt that way was Coach Webber two, like
- 4:51Speaker 1: he was just down to have fun immediately because his
- 4:54Speaker 1: daughter's like he didn't know who we were, but his
- 4:56Speaker 1: daughters thought we were cool. Maybe he said he listened
- 4:58Speaker 1: a little bit since they told him, but I felt
- 5:01Speaker 1: like he listened and was like, not my thing, but
- 5:04Speaker 1: I'll do it from It's awesome, coach. What's going on.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm doing okay? How about you? We're doing good. It's
- 5:09Speaker 1: an honor to talk with you, especially now, I mean
- 5:12Speaker 1: we're getting into it. I was up last night these
- 5:13Speaker 1: games that start at nine o'clock because and now all
- 5:16Speaker 1: the games you gotta watch because everybody's fighting for either
- 5:19Speaker 1: seeds for the NCAA tournament or you know, I know
- 5:23Speaker 1: you work for a different conference, and I'm a most
- 5:26Speaker 1: of the fan, I'm an SEC guy, But you know,
- 5:28Speaker 1: we're all fighting some conference seeds. How does inside the
- 5:32Speaker 1: locker room? How does it change here we are early March,
- 5:34Speaker 1: does it change? Is it palpable? Whenever it's like okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: now we got to play for a spot. Yeah, there's
- 5:39Speaker 1: no doubt. It means so much. You work all year
- 5:43Speaker 1: to get to this point, and uh it is. It
- 5:47Speaker 1: is really really important. I really think it comes down to,
- 5:51Speaker 1: you know, the coaches always want it, but do the
- 5:53Speaker 1: players want it? And how much do they want it?
- 5:56Speaker 1: And you know they have to. This is the time
- 5:58Speaker 1: of the year. The players take the accountability. The players
- 6:01Speaker 1: take the responsibility, and they're the ones that take the
- 6:05Speaker 1: thing to a new level and they have their shining
- 6:07Speaker 1: moments and put them itself in position that you know,
- 6:12Speaker 1: accomplish things and have special special memories. Were you ever like, guys,
- 6:18Speaker 1: I can't really communicate with you how important this is.
- 6:21Speaker 1: And then they were like, yeah, coach, you were right,
- 6:23Speaker 1: Like we should have listened to you. We got the
- 6:25Speaker 1: conference tournament and you were right, and we didn't really
- 6:27Speaker 1: understand the gravity of the situation. Yeah, there's no doubt.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It's funny Like two weeks ago, my SIU Southern Illinois team.
- 6:34Speaker 1: We celebrated our Sweet sixteen twentieth anniversary of our sixteen run.
- 6:39Speaker 1: And you know, for Southern Illinois it's three times in
- 6:42Speaker 1: the history of their school from the Missouri Valley to
- 6:45Speaker 1: get into Sweet sixteen, So it's really really special. But
- 6:49Speaker 1: to be with those guys and to hear some of
- 6:52Speaker 1: them say, Coach, all your messages still haunt me, you know,
- 6:56Speaker 1: twenty years later, and things you told me, you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's part of my life. Then you're right. And there's
- 7:01Speaker 1: guys that have had great success and there's other ones
- 7:05Speaker 1: that have struggled, just like you know, a normal life,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and it's funny to hear one of them wouldn't come back.
- 7:10Speaker 1: And he was one of our best players, and he said, Coach,
- 7:13Speaker 1: I'm not coming back until I'm ready and proud of
- 7:16Speaker 1: what I'm about as a person, you know, before i
- 7:20Speaker 1: come back, and I'll bring my family back then, And
- 7:23Speaker 1: because we wanted to fly him back, we wanted him back,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and you know, it was interesting to hear his perspective.
- 7:28Speaker 1: You know, when you look back at all the years
- 7:31Speaker 1: that you've coached young men, meaning you know you can
- 7:33Speaker 1: go back to even when you're a gat Western Kentucky,
- 7:35Speaker 1: which was like seventy nine eighty or so. Is there
- 7:38Speaker 1: a responsibility that you felt or when did it become
- 7:41Speaker 1: most prominent? My head football coach in high school? I
- 7:43Speaker 1: didn't have a dad, so he's a big part of
- 7:46Speaker 1: the discipline that I learned. And when you talk just
- 7:48Speaker 1: now about your guys that are like, we remember what
- 7:49Speaker 1: you said. Then I still hold a lot of that
- 7:52Speaker 1: stuff from my head football coach to this day because
- 7:55Speaker 1: I didn't have a strong male influence for most of
- 7:58Speaker 1: my life. When did that become real to you that
- 8:00Speaker 1: a lot of these kids lean on you for the
- 8:02Speaker 1: same thing. Well, exactly why I got into coach, and
- 8:06Speaker 1: to be honest, and uh, you know, I got a
- 8:09Speaker 1: you know, our family story and I don't want to
- 8:11Speaker 1: bore you, but my dad came over from Austria when
- 8:13Speaker 1: he was a young child. Um, didn't get the education.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Uh you know, they spoke German and you know, and
- 8:20Speaker 1: and he really not never got to go to college.
- 8:22Speaker 1: And he just told all five of we had five kids,
- 8:25Speaker 1: didn't have much money, three three boys in one room,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and we switched off. We supped on the floor. Um
- 8:31Speaker 1: but it you know, he just said you're all going
- 8:34Speaker 1: to be teachers and coaches because there's no better way
- 8:37Speaker 1: in life than to help somebody and to be part
- 8:40Speaker 1: of their life. And and so we all were teachers
- 8:43Speaker 1: and coaches. And one of my brothers is in the
- 8:45Speaker 1: Wisconsin High School Hall of Fame once in Illinois High
- 8:47Speaker 1: School Hall of Fame. Sisters taught and coached and um.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And then I just I was the one who had
- 8:53Speaker 1: a whim. I was a high school coach. I wanted
- 8:54Speaker 1: to be in college coach. Just kind of a you know,
- 8:56Speaker 1: a crazy miracle story that I got involved. And then
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, forty whatever it is, forty four years later,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you know, I had a lifetime of special memories. But
- 9:07Speaker 1: my whole thing when I started, and it's changed so much.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Obviously the money you talk about March Madness and the
- 9:14Speaker 1: you know, the Final Four and all that stuff. But
- 9:17Speaker 1: I got into it because I was I wanted there
- 9:19Speaker 1: to be there to help young men and help them
- 9:22Speaker 1: learn and grow and and you know, be part of
- 9:25Speaker 1: their life because there are so many guys like you
- 9:27Speaker 1: talked about that don't have the father there and and
- 9:31Speaker 1: so it's it's the part I loved. I was talking
- 9:35Speaker 1: with Tom Mizzo from Michigan State this morning. And you know,
- 9:38Speaker 1: I just said, he goes, what do you miss? And
- 9:40Speaker 1: I told him, every day you woke up, you had
- 9:44Speaker 1: to be there to help somebody. And because you know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: you're getting a call from your player or staff or
- 9:50Speaker 1: somebody in the community or whatever and that and that's
- 9:54Speaker 1: the part. And I'm still getting calls. I got called
- 9:56Speaker 1: from him this morning, so but I'm still getting the
- 9:59Speaker 1: calls to you know that. But it's not the same
- 10:01Speaker 1: when you're you know, you're coaching every day and you're
- 10:04Speaker 1: you know, you're meeting with them and helping them, helping
- 10:06Speaker 1: them through crisises and um, you know, hopefully where it
- 10:11Speaker 1: means something in their life. And I go back, my guys,
- 10:15Speaker 1: even forty years ago I was I was about there
- 10:17Speaker 1: same age. They bought beer for me because I didn't
- 10:19Speaker 1: make any money. And you know, I coached Katie, my
- 10:23Speaker 1: old boss who wasn't as an Arkansas he was at
- 10:26Speaker 1: with Eddie Sutton and that that run with the triplets
- 10:30Speaker 1: and that way back, and you know, coach would say,
- 10:33Speaker 1: go check on them at night, make sure they're doing okay. Well,
- 10:36Speaker 1: I went to the bars so they could buy meet beers,
- 10:38Speaker 1: so I didn't. I made two thousand dollars or whatever
- 10:42Speaker 1: it was for the year. But but even those guys,
- 10:45Speaker 1: you still say, in contact with them and uh, you know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: their their dads and I had I ended up recruiting
- 10:52Speaker 1: some of their kids. And you know, it's just it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: just a special uh career, especial life that that you
- 10:59Speaker 1: you know, I was was able to be part of,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you know, being on the Big ten network with you're
- 11:04Speaker 1: talking about college hoops all the time. It's a different
- 11:06Speaker 1: job for you. Obviously you pull from the same knowledge.
- 11:09Speaker 1: But do you like doing this job now where people
- 11:13Speaker 1: are saying, hey, tell me your opinion on this, or
- 11:15Speaker 1: do you miss coaching every single day? I miss coaching.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I like I said, I wake up you know to
- 11:21Speaker 1: have that. You know that you know it's it's stressful,
- 11:24Speaker 1: but you kind of love it. You know, guys will say,
- 11:27Speaker 1: why would you want to get back into if it's
- 11:29Speaker 1: so hard, And it's gotten harder as we've gone with
- 11:32Speaker 1: the NIL The name engines name, image and likeness and
- 11:36Speaker 1: the portal and all the different things. But you know,
- 11:40Speaker 1: you still that involvement with people every day, and I've
- 11:45Speaker 1: missed that part. But this the Big ten network. I
- 11:49Speaker 1: didn't know if I would love it, but I do
- 11:51Speaker 1: like it. I stay involved. I stay in touch with
- 11:54Speaker 1: the coaches. The coaches take my calls or they call me.
- 11:58Speaker 1: You know, you know so many guys and I have
- 12:00Speaker 1: I don't know how many former players, managers, assistant coaches
- 12:05Speaker 1: that are still coaching. So you stay connect with them,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and you you live and die there their hides and loaves,
- 12:10Speaker 1: and you know, help them and give them advice whenever
- 12:13Speaker 1: you can. So this has been a nice thing, a
- 12:17Speaker 1: nice in between. A couple of days a week I
- 12:20Speaker 1: get out of house and my wife gives her a
- 12:23Speaker 1: little bit of time to relax. And I'm a guy
- 12:27Speaker 1: that I don't like to sit and I want to
- 12:29Speaker 1: do something. So, um, you know, it's some early mornings
- 12:33Speaker 1: and late nights, but it's it's been fun. Three more wins.
- 12:36Speaker 1: You have five hundred career wins? Like is that in
- 12:38Speaker 1: the back of your mind, Like, I gotta give back
- 12:39Speaker 1: in I gotta at least a hundred here. Uh if
- 12:43Speaker 1: if the right situation came about. And even my wife,
- 12:47Speaker 1: she's fine with it. She she loved that, she loved
- 12:50Speaker 1: being part of it. And um, you know, but it
- 12:53Speaker 1: would have to be the right thing for her, for
- 12:55Speaker 1: my my family and had three girls, three wonderful girls,
- 12:58Speaker 1: four grands children, two grand dogs or three grand dogs,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and uh, you know, it would I want to be
- 13:05Speaker 1: around them because my first my wife is sacrifice. For
- 13:09Speaker 1: forty two years. I mean, it's it's it's you give
- 13:12Speaker 1: up your life when you coach. I mean we've worked,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you know, three hundred forty days a year. You know,
- 13:17Speaker 1: you get long weekends and and you know to be
- 13:20Speaker 1: with the family and stuff. But even when those weekends
- 13:23Speaker 1: came about, she I'd say, I'm gonna take a walk.
- 13:25Speaker 1: She goes, no, You're gonna go make calls. And I'm like, yes,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I'm going to make calls, but I'm gonna take a walk.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So it uh, you know, it just it just was.
- 13:34Speaker 1: It was such a grind, but it was it was
- 13:35Speaker 1: fun and we loved it, and you know, just we're
- 13:38Speaker 1: at special places from you know, starting at Western Kentucky.
- 13:42Speaker 1: I started at Purdue for eighteen years with coach Katie
- 13:45Speaker 1: Um as an assistant. I was one of the longest
- 13:47Speaker 1: assistants in the history of college basketball. And you know,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I was so young when I started and got that
- 13:53Speaker 1: that break, and and then to go to SIU and
- 13:56Speaker 1: take them to the Sweet sixteen and nca bids and
- 14:01Speaker 1: you know, and then obviously Illinois going to the to
- 14:04Speaker 1: the National Championship game and with that group and then
- 14:07Speaker 1: case State helping them win two two Big twelve championships.
- 14:12Speaker 1: They hadn't done that in about forty some years. Sou
- 14:15Speaker 1: and an Elite eight runs, So it's just been a blast, great,
- 14:19Speaker 1: great memories. I'm just very very fortunate. When we think
- 14:22Speaker 1: of nerves, we often think about players being nervous before
- 14:25Speaker 1: a game or as the intensity of the game starts
- 14:28Speaker 1: to come down into the game. But what about coaches
- 14:30Speaker 1: like you're talking about, you know, getting to the Final four,
- 14:33Speaker 1: playing in the National Championship game. As the head coach,
- 14:36Speaker 1: are you also just paralyzed with nerves but you just
- 14:39Speaker 1: don't want to show it, or as a coach, you're like,
- 14:41Speaker 1: I know what I'm doing, I don't actually have to
- 14:43Speaker 1: get out there. How is that before a game? Oh,
- 14:46Speaker 1: there's no doubt you're nervous and in the build up,
- 14:48Speaker 1: and that that's just part of it. I tried to
- 14:50Speaker 1: take a walk, tried to relax the you know, anything
- 14:53Speaker 1: you could do. You had your little routines and that,
- 14:57Speaker 1: but you know, you just but once you get to
- 14:59Speaker 1: the game, that ball goes up. You know it's your
- 15:02Speaker 1: That adrenaline's going and the mind's going and uh, you know,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you just It's funny because I watched the games in
- 15:10Speaker 1: the studio. Now we sit in the green room watch
- 15:12Speaker 1: games and then we come on at halftime and after
- 15:14Speaker 1: the game and all that. The games go so fast.
- 15:16Speaker 1: But when I was coaching, it was two hours. Was
- 15:19Speaker 1: like an eternity. It was like, oh my goodness, how
- 15:22Speaker 1: long is this game? And then you get to that
- 15:24Speaker 1: last minute and you lose those close games or it
- 15:27Speaker 1: goes your way, whatever, all the hides and loads, the emotions, Um,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know it. It Uh, it drove your nuts, to
- 15:36Speaker 1: be honest. So it's but it was part of it.
- 15:38Speaker 1: You just loved it and you came back for it again.
- 15:40Speaker 1: It's it's like to me, it's like an addiction. I
- 15:42Speaker 1: guess that you know, being there and helping the you know,
- 15:45Speaker 1: helping the team and giving them advice and all that stuff.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And when they you win, you feel great. When you lose,
- 15:50Speaker 1: it's it's misery. When I get to some current basketball
- 15:54Speaker 1: questions in a second. But we need your advice because
- 15:57Speaker 1: this is Eddie. Eddie's my best friend. Eddie is a
- 16:00Speaker 1: host on the show Oh Coach. He was coaching nine.
- 16:03Speaker 1: He almost got thrown out of a nine year old
- 16:04Speaker 1: basketball game. Coach, nine year old, it's my son's team, Coach.
- 16:07Speaker 1: The ref said, if you say chill, yes, well yes
- 16:11Speaker 1: go coach. Let me ask you a question, though, so
- 16:13Speaker 1: so I yelled. I never yell. This was probably our
- 16:16Speaker 1: tenth game. I never yelled at the refs, but they
- 16:18Speaker 1: weren't calling anything. So I got frustrated and I yelled
- 16:22Speaker 1: at him, and he blew the whistle and said one
- 16:24Speaker 1: more comment from you and you're out of here. And
- 16:26Speaker 1: I looked at my assistant and I said, do you
- 16:28Speaker 1: think I should get kicked out? Like we're down ten points,
- 16:31Speaker 1: we got about seven minutes left. Do you think this
- 16:34Speaker 1: will energize the boys if I purposely get kicked out?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Do you think that works? Coach? Oh, there's no doubt.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Because Matt Painter, who was the coach at Purdue and
- 16:44Speaker 1: they've been number one, and Matt Matt played for me
- 16:47Speaker 1: at Purdue. I helped recruit him and then he was
- 16:49Speaker 1: my assistant that he hasn't gotten a technical in eight years,
- 16:53Speaker 1: and his fans are actually like questioning, why aren't you
- 16:55Speaker 1: getting a technical? You know, and and you know, it's
- 16:58Speaker 1: just and you know, I think sometimes and we talked
- 17:02Speaker 1: about it. I was on with some they had official
- 17:05Speaker 1: from the Big ten the other day on the Zoom
- 17:07Speaker 1: and we were just talking. I think sometimes a technical
- 17:10Speaker 1: can really you know, get the players. You feel like
- 17:13Speaker 1: they feel like you have their back. You take. The
- 17:15Speaker 1: other thing is it takes the attention away from the
- 17:18Speaker 1: players and maybe they can relax a little bit, so
- 17:21Speaker 1: you know, there, I think, but if you do it
- 17:23Speaker 1: too much. Now, the officials who we need in the game.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And you know, one of the biggest crisis in sports
- 17:30Speaker 1: right now is getting umpires and getting and getting officials,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and because one young people, you know, I don't know
- 17:38Speaker 1: if they don't see the value to get young guys
- 17:40Speaker 1: in it, but also in young ladies, you know. But
- 17:44Speaker 1: also they don't want to deal with people like you ready,
- 17:49Speaker 1: it's just so they don't Why should I do this
- 17:52Speaker 1: for twelve bucks an hour? And then this guy's gonna
- 17:55Speaker 1: yell at me, who doesn't know anything. Do you think
- 17:59Speaker 1: they're the Galvanis and let's go wind. Coach you ever
- 18:04Speaker 1: get time, I think there's a fine line. And I
- 18:05Speaker 1: got technicals along the way. I didn't get a whole
- 18:08Speaker 1: lot my old bus coach Katie, he kind of that
- 18:10Speaker 1: was his whole thing. I mean, you grew up in
- 18:13Speaker 1: that year. I grew up, you know with Coach Knight
- 18:16Speaker 1: and Judd Heathcote and lud Olson and Coach Katy in
- 18:19Speaker 1: that early part of the Big Ten and technicals things
- 18:22Speaker 1: they said the officials, it was, oh my goodness. And
- 18:26Speaker 1: now it's changed because the teav changed so much and
- 18:28Speaker 1: all the cameras and they're up clothes and uh, you know,
- 18:32Speaker 1: I've watched coach Katy. He had to change. He had
- 18:34Speaker 1: to change his the meter because he'd be the leadoff
- 18:36Speaker 1: of Sports Center. Uh, you know with his ramps and
- 18:39Speaker 1: raves and all that stuff. So you know, it's it's
- 18:42Speaker 1: just it's different. But I would tell you and again
- 18:46Speaker 1: there if you go back and watch film nine five
- 18:49Speaker 1: ninety six percent of time, the officials are probably correct.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Now it's the problem is that four percent, and if
- 18:56Speaker 1: it affects the game, uh, it makes it really tough
- 18:59Speaker 1: to deal with. And they're nine nine years old, think
- 19:04Speaker 1: all right, do be kind? Yes, question about Purdue coach
- 19:08Speaker 1: Indiana sweat Purdue. Does that say a bunch about Indiana
- 19:11Speaker 1: or does it say that maybe produce a little overrated. Well,
- 19:14Speaker 1: you know, I think one perdue overachieved. Or you know,
- 19:18Speaker 1: Matt is a great coach. Uh, not just because he
- 19:22Speaker 1: you know, he's my guy or whatever. He I mean,
- 19:24Speaker 1: he just he does a great job coaching us. He's
- 19:28Speaker 1: got guys that he's got players that want to be coachable.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I think as you get into the season, it's about matchups,
- 19:35Speaker 1: and you're gonna see this in the tournament. It's there's
- 19:37Speaker 1: so many teams in that you look in that SEC,
- 19:40Speaker 1: you look into Big ten, everybody's ten and eight or
- 19:43Speaker 1: nine and seven or whatever. There's so much balance, and
- 19:47Speaker 1: you're gonna see the matchups are gonna be so important.
- 19:49Speaker 1: And also as the season goes on, people figure out
- 19:53Speaker 1: how to beat you, you know, whether it's the NFL
- 19:56Speaker 1: or whatever they find people copy. I was thinking of
- 19:59Speaker 1: the I'm a Packer fan, so I grew up you know, Milwaukee.
- 20:04Speaker 1: I'm watching them play against Miami at Christmas Day and
- 20:07Speaker 1: the quarterback who had been unbelievable but the week before
- 20:10Speaker 1: somebody figured something about dropping the linebackers and had three interceptions.
- 20:13Speaker 1: Well the Packers do it and they intercept them a bunch.
- 20:16Speaker 1: So late in the season people find stuff that that
- 20:19Speaker 1: changes games. You know, there's a formula. Matt Painter knows
- 20:23Speaker 1: that there's a formula to beat Perdue. And you know,
- 20:26Speaker 1: if if you have the right system, if you have
- 20:28Speaker 1: the right players, and the kids are coachable, you can
- 20:31Speaker 1: beat them, There's no doubt. But if they get the
- 20:34Speaker 1: right matchups, they can make a run. And they have
- 20:38Speaker 1: Zach Edie is like I was on with some radio guy.
- 20:42Speaker 1: He called them an alien, But I mean he is
- 20:44Speaker 1: a big, big guy, and he's got a great touch,
- 20:46Speaker 1: and he plays his butt off and he's coachable, and
- 20:51Speaker 1: so he gives them a total different dimension than anyone
- 20:54Speaker 1: else has. Self scouting and just an analogy here and
- 20:59Speaker 1: I'll end with this. So I'm always trying to figure
- 21:03Speaker 1: out what I can do to better myself as doing
- 21:05Speaker 1: a radio show or doing a TV show or doing whatever.
- 21:07Speaker 1: So with the radio show, I would hire people to
- 21:11Speaker 1: tell me how to beat me that I have them
- 21:12Speaker 1: listened to me, and I would say, I'm going to
- 21:15Speaker 1: pay you I'd hire two people at the same time,
- 21:17Speaker 1: and I want you to listen to all this tape.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And if you were building a show to beat me
- 21:21Speaker 1: find my weaknesses? What show would you build to beat me?
- 21:24Speaker 1: And so that's what I would do. And they would
- 21:26Speaker 1: present these reports to me and they would say, well,
- 21:28Speaker 1: this is how i'd beat you, this is what I
- 21:29Speaker 1: do to bring in and then I would try to
- 21:30Speaker 1: cover up those right, And then so I hired somebody
- 21:33Speaker 1: to teach me how to beat me, and then I
- 21:34Speaker 1: would try to beat whoever's trying to beat me. Now,
- 21:37Speaker 1: as a basketball coach, and obviously people are trying to
- 21:39Speaker 1: figure out how to when matchups when games. Would you
- 21:43Speaker 1: ever do that to your own team, figure out how
- 21:46Speaker 1: to beat you and then try to plug those holes. Yes,
- 21:48Speaker 1: there's no doubt. People hire former coaches to come in
- 21:52Speaker 1: scout their team, write reports how you would beat them,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and sometimes we'd show it to the players. Here's what
- 21:58Speaker 1: the other people are saying about you, and this this
- 22:00Speaker 1: is or we would you know, when we have friends
- 22:03Speaker 1: in the business that we trust, like you know, and
- 22:06Speaker 1: I was at Illinois and Matt Painter just took over Purdue,
- 22:10Speaker 1: I mean, we would we could trade scouting reports and
- 22:12Speaker 1: saying what do you think about us once we're done playing? Honestly,
- 22:15Speaker 1: you're not going to do that in the middle of
- 22:17Speaker 1: the season. And yeah, so you bring people in. Um,
- 22:21Speaker 1: we all have our people, we trust. You have that
- 22:24Speaker 1: little group of coaches that you grew up with and
- 22:27Speaker 1: you talk to them all the time. The late night
- 22:29Speaker 1: recruiting trips. You know they're up because they can't fall
- 22:31Speaker 1: asleep either, and you're talking to them. And um. But yeah,
- 22:35Speaker 1: you bring people in, bring them into practice, uh and
- 22:38Speaker 1: and and let them watch you and and and critique you.
- 22:41Speaker 1: It's hard. But I'll tell you this. My old boss,
- 22:44Speaker 1: coach Katy, who is up for the NA Smith Hall
- 22:47Speaker 1: of Fame this this year again as a finalist. And
- 22:49Speaker 1: I don't understand why he's not in there, but because
- 22:53Speaker 1: he kind of did everything in the business from high
- 22:55Speaker 1: school to junior college to assistant that Arkansas to UH
- 22:59Speaker 1: when winning as coaches and produe history, the USA Basketball
- 23:03Speaker 1: gold medals assistant on the Olympics gold medal, NBA assistant,
- 23:07Speaker 1: all that stuff. But coach Katie, who is a you know,
- 23:11Speaker 1: tough and grumpy and all this, he said that you
- 23:13Speaker 1: want to stay in the business. You gotta be flexible
- 23:15Speaker 1: and you gotta change. And we have a saying, if
- 23:17Speaker 1: nothing changes, nothing changes. And you know our players will
- 23:22Speaker 1: call me that all the time and say coach randomly,
- 23:25Speaker 1: Cohm say, if nothing changes, nothing changes. So you know
- 23:28Speaker 1: that's just part of life. You know, you gotta change,
- 23:31Speaker 1: You gotta stay flexible, you gotta stay up with it
- 23:33Speaker 1: the times, basketball changes, kids change, people change you. If
- 23:37Speaker 1: you don't stay up with it, you get you know,
- 23:40Speaker 1: we all say get fat and sassy. You know you
- 23:43Speaker 1: somebody's gonna you're gonna lose listeners and somebody else is
- 23:46Speaker 1: gonna come on. Yeah, that's probably happening anyway. But look,
- 23:49Speaker 1: coach a massive fan. And if you're out and you
- 23:54Speaker 1: know you're one of the you know, tournament sites and
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm out there, I'm gon hit you up and be
- 23:58Speaker 1: like coach, I want to say hello, So just a
- 24:00Speaker 1: super big fan and just who you are and how
- 24:03Speaker 1: you've done it, and I appreciate the time you spent
- 24:04Speaker 1: with us today. Thank you. It's been an honored pleasure.
- 24:07Speaker 1: And my daughter got me hooked up with this, My daughter, Emily,
- 24:10Speaker 1: her husband's from Greenwood, Arkansas. If you know about Greenwood Football.
- 24:15Speaker 1: You played football there, played h She she went to
- 24:18Speaker 1: Illinois and we told her never date athletes and she
- 24:21Speaker 1: ended up marrying one. So but you know it, just
- 24:25Speaker 1: it's been pleasure being on. She listens every day. She
- 24:28Speaker 1: loves that other another daughter listens and so big fans
- 24:32Speaker 1: of you. I've been listening to different things. Once she
- 24:34Speaker 1: told me she was so excited. Dad, you better not
- 24:36Speaker 1: screw this up. I got you on here, so so
- 24:39Speaker 1: hopefully I did. Okay, if we're out of sight or
- 24:44Speaker 1: at the final four and you're cheering for the Hogs,
- 24:47Speaker 1: please tap me on the shoulder. I will coach. Thank
- 24:50Speaker 1: you for your time. I hope you have a great day.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Let's now go over and do the tittle tattle time.
- 25:02Speaker 1: You got a first golf question here after averaging under
- 25:05Speaker 1: three hundred thousand viewers for their first broadcast event, do
- 25:08Speaker 1: you think there's a chance that the live golf tournament
- 25:10Speaker 1: will end up like the XFL and kind of weed
- 25:12Speaker 1: its way out. XFL didn't have basically all the money
- 25:17Speaker 1: in the whole world. Do you use right? There's the difference.
- 25:19Speaker 1: XFL failed because a timing failed a couple times, and
- 25:23Speaker 1: it's a business. But the CEO, that's got a board,
- 25:27Speaker 1: it's got stock prices, you know, all that matters with
- 25:30Speaker 1: the live tournament all none of that matters, So you
- 25:32Speaker 1: can it's not going to be the same in that regard.
- 25:35Speaker 1: And they got what we say, three hundred thousand yeah,
- 25:37Speaker 1: under yeah, but it was like CWM, right or CW network.
- 25:42Speaker 1: You're just not gonna get a lot of viewers in
- 25:43Speaker 1: that anyway, not yet at least, and it's brand new,
- 25:47Speaker 1: but mostly you're not gonna get a lot of viewers
- 25:48Speaker 1: on that anyway. I'm gonna imagine their highest rating like
- 25:50Speaker 1: a point six or something. Sure, so, and that's six
- 25:55Speaker 1: hundred thousand, seve hundred thousand people. So the story is
- 25:58Speaker 1: Live got less than three hund thousand. That's somebody who's
- 26:01Speaker 1: anti Live Go and look how this is doing. It's crappy. Well,
- 26:04Speaker 1: it's a new league, it's on a network that ballo
- 26:08Speaker 1: who even watches unless it's Sports live television. I don't
- 26:11Speaker 1: know the w is and yeah with sports but we
- 26:13Speaker 1: didn't even know. I'm gonna go. No, not a big
- 26:14Speaker 1: deal at all. The fact they have a partner, it's
- 26:16Speaker 1: great for them. I'm not a fan of the league,
- 26:20Speaker 1: but the more that I hear about everything else that
- 26:21Speaker 1: I don't even know is also affiliated with something. I'm like,
- 26:24Speaker 1: I just don't know. Right, So it's not a big
- 26:28Speaker 1: deal and let them keep rocking. And the fact that
- 26:29Speaker 1: the players is gonna get to play the Majors. You
- 26:31Speaker 1: saw that, Yeah, I'm cool with it because it's not
- 26:34Speaker 1: the PGA Tour. Yeah, that's The Majors are not the
- 26:36Speaker 1: PGA Tour, the PGA Tours, PGA Tour, and the Majors
- 26:41Speaker 1: are their own, like separate entity. They are, they're their
- 26:43Speaker 1: own found Yeah. Oh, I didn't even know that. I
- 26:45Speaker 1: never knew that. Yeah, it's not part of the tour.
- 26:47Speaker 1: And that's why they get to play the PGA Championship
- 26:50Speaker 1: is correct, but that's it. But yes, but the Masters
- 26:53Speaker 1: isn't the US Open other Open? Yeah, I hate that.
- 26:57Speaker 1: It's a British Open, but open. You know, there was
- 27:01Speaker 1: like a big struggle. They're like, let's call it the Open,
- 27:04Speaker 1: let's call it. I don't know, how do you say though? That, No,
- 27:13Speaker 1: not a big deal, and it's it's making the PGA
- 27:16Speaker 1: better already, And I do like that, all right. Next
- 27:19Speaker 1: question going to the NBA here from one to ten
- 27:21Speaker 1: ten being the most confident. What is your confidence level
- 27:24Speaker 1: in the Lakers making the playoffs after Lebron's injury the
- 27:28Speaker 1: terrible timing because he ain't coming back. I don't know
- 27:32Speaker 1: the latest today, but yesterday were saying weeks, and you
- 27:35Speaker 1: know how long the season is until the playoffs, weeks.
- 27:38Speaker 1: They can't really afford to lose a bunch of games.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Where are they now? They were at eleven the last
- 27:45Speaker 1: time I looked, so it sometimes teams actually play better
- 27:50Speaker 1: for a minute when they lose a star, and the
- 27:53Speaker 1: Lakers have enough good players, but they have to win
- 27:56Speaker 1: a bunch more games than they should, meaning with a
- 28:00Speaker 1: team they have now without Lebron, could they go over
- 28:02Speaker 1: five hundred, yeah, from at the beginning of the season.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Could they pop in the ten spot, yeah? Probably, But
- 28:07Speaker 1: they don't. They have a few finite amount of games
- 28:10Speaker 1: to win way more than five hundred to climb up
- 28:13Speaker 1: and get in the ten the play in tournament, So
- 28:15Speaker 1: it's gonna be tough. I'm still betting on him most like,
- 28:18Speaker 1: because I already didn't have stick with it. Now you
- 28:20Speaker 1: can catch but I'm gonna go with the Lakers make it.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Where are they now? They're at twelve. They're half game
- 28:23Speaker 1: out of eleven, one game out of ten, and their
- 28:27Speaker 1: schedule is a lot of playoff teams coming up. I
- 28:30Speaker 1: was looking at it. It's a lot of teams that
- 28:32Speaker 1: are good. It's doable. But Lebron's such a leader. I
- 28:35Speaker 1: just don't I don't know. And then you know they
- 28:37Speaker 1: hate him and they're like, let's go sho. That's true,
- 28:39Speaker 1: which you never know what they're really thinking. But if
- 28:43Speaker 1: Anthony Davis cannot get injured, he gets injured every two weeks,
- 28:47Speaker 1: it seems like. But Lebron's ankle under his foot or
- 28:49Speaker 1: whatever I saw on his Instagram, He's like, this sucks.
- 28:52Speaker 1: It does suck. I believe you really thought you could
- 28:54Speaker 1: and I believed he could come in and they could
- 28:56Speaker 1: actually make the playoffs. That's why I bet it all right.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Next question, looking and the longest postseason droughting major sports.
- 29:02Speaker 1: What do you think the sacrament of King's ceiling is?
- 29:04Speaker 1: The last I looked, the Kings were third or fourth
- 29:08Speaker 1: in the West, and I when I pulled up the
- 29:10Speaker 1: Kings last night to just look at just where they
- 29:13Speaker 1: were financially as well, who do you think makes the
- 29:15Speaker 1: most money on that King's team is yeah, good, good job,
- 29:20Speaker 1: guys twenty eight million bucks a year. Go ahead. After that,
- 29:24Speaker 1: I don't even know. Well, so the guys that you
- 29:28Speaker 1: would know from the team, like Sabonis, yeah just played
- 29:31Speaker 1: pretty well. Um he makes eighteen million a year, but
- 29:34Speaker 1: not not the most. Um you would also know probably
- 29:39Speaker 1: Harrison Barnes, he makes eighteen million a year. After that,
- 29:42Speaker 1: they sneakily get up on you with a few really
- 29:44Speaker 1: good players. Malik Monk, who went to Kentucky went to
- 29:50Speaker 1: the Lakers. Now with the Kings makes nine million bucks.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Delavadova is that where he's at now? Yeah? Wow, like sneakily, Yeah,
- 29:59Speaker 1: they're gonna make I think they can win a series.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I think they can win a series. I don't think
- 30:04Speaker 1: they go win too. It's a team that I root
- 30:05Speaker 1: for and I look to see if they want every night.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Because the Kings are supposed to suck and they have
- 30:09Speaker 1: really really good guard play all right, so I'm gonna
- 30:11Speaker 1: go they can. Their ceiling is winning one series. You're
- 30:15Speaker 1: still watching a lot of League pass some I now
- 30:19Speaker 1: that college basketball games are happening all the time, and
- 30:21Speaker 1: then their games are getting bigger. I will always defer
- 30:23Speaker 1: to the college basketball games and so not as much now,
- 30:27Speaker 1: but I try to keep up with as much as possible.
- 30:29Speaker 1: It's just it's so much all the time, and if
- 30:32Speaker 1: you're not playing fantasy basketball, which I used to do,
- 30:35Speaker 1: it's hard to keep up with everybody. But I'm in
- 30:37Speaker 1: on the Lakers because it's bet on them. And then
- 30:40Speaker 1: when I'm ready for the Suns, let's see what happens.
- 30:43Speaker 1: They're not even the favorite, which Denver is the favorite
- 30:46Speaker 1: in the West. The Denver is the favorite to win
- 30:48Speaker 1: the whole thing? And did that change between a lot
- 30:51Speaker 1: of people? I thought that changed recently. I saw Sons
- 30:55Speaker 1: like last week's Suns were in Really yeah, maybe I
- 30:58Speaker 1: just read too many articles where they're like, we picked
- 31:00Speaker 1: but between Denver and then East Boston, Milwaukee, Milwaukee and
- 31:05Speaker 1: then maybe Phoenix. You know, Golden State's interesting when they
- 31:10Speaker 1: get back and they're all healthy because it's the same
- 31:12Speaker 1: team as last year. But I do think the Kings
- 31:14Speaker 1: can win a series. All right? What else you got
- 31:16Speaker 1: going to the NFL here? Do you believe the Anthony
- 31:19Speaker 1: Richardson hype about being the next Josh Allen or no?
- 31:22Speaker 1: They can't say this now? And three weeks ago they
- 31:24Speaker 1: were saying he's so raw, he'll he won't be able
- 31:26Speaker 1: to perform year one or a year two. But as
- 31:30Speaker 1: the draft gets closer, all these stories, these narratives come
- 31:32Speaker 1: out because they're trying to affect people's drafting upward down.
- 31:36Speaker 1: So no, but also they're like Levies is the next
- 31:39Speaker 1: Josh Allen. Anybody that just lowers their shoulder occasionally gets
- 31:42Speaker 1: called the next Josh Allen. Right, Like, if you can
- 31:44Speaker 1: run from more than a quarterback sneak and you're large
- 31:47Speaker 1: in stature, you're Josh Allen. And so no, I think
- 31:53Speaker 1: it'd be best for him to go to a team
- 31:55Speaker 1: that later in the draft actually has a quarterback and
- 31:57Speaker 1: he can sit for a couple of years. I mean
- 31:59Speaker 1: imagine or like the Raiders draft him, but they don't
- 32:02Speaker 1: play him right, they're able to get Aaron Rodgers, or
- 32:05Speaker 1: they're able to get Jimmy Garoppolo and he could come
- 32:07Speaker 1: in for two years. Imagine if Anthony Richard under Aaron Rodgers,
- 32:10Speaker 1: when you know he's gonna be there two years wherever
- 32:12Speaker 1: he goes two maybe three if he doesn't retire, that's
- 32:17Speaker 1: the perfect situation. That's the way to do it. It
- 32:20Speaker 1: was he behind. Think about it. He was hurt, he's
- 32:22Speaker 1: hurt for a while. He's like Smith. That's right. One
- 32:24Speaker 1: of the most the craziest comebacks ever. Yeah yeah, okay,
- 32:27Speaker 1: next one. If you were the Dolphins, how hesitant would
- 32:30Speaker 1: you be to pick up two is fifty year option.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I wouldn't. You can't cut bait not now. Yes, a
- 32:36Speaker 1: lot of concussions. Even if he never plays again, you can't.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Quarterbacks are so hard to get, even medium skill quarterbacks
- 32:45Speaker 1: are so hard to get. You can't cut the fifth year.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Now you've already got him. He's part of the team,
- 32:51Speaker 1: he's part of the culture. I don't think for any
- 32:54Speaker 1: reason whatsoever do you just say, nah, we're good. You've
- 32:56Speaker 1: invested so much in him. Worst cases he never plays,
- 32:59Speaker 1: he comes and he signs the fifth year, or you
- 33:02Speaker 1: make him sign the fifth year and he doesn't play.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That's worst case, except for worser case, when you don't
- 33:08Speaker 1: sign it he goes play. Somebody else wants a freaking championship.
- 33:11Speaker 1: That would be miserable. So yes, I think you do.
- 33:13Speaker 1: What do you think they shouldn't all from the fifth year? No,
- 33:16Speaker 1: who else are gonna get that? You have to have
- 33:18Speaker 1: another quarterback? Come in. Yeah, and then the whole thing
- 33:20Speaker 1: is too. You look at Daniel Jones this here. Now
- 33:21Speaker 1: he's looking to make thirty five to forty five million.
- 33:23Speaker 1: You don't want to pay that. You'll pay twenty three
- 33:25Speaker 1: million on that fifth year instead of that thirty five
- 33:27Speaker 1: to forty five. So, well, you wouldn't sign him to
- 33:29Speaker 1: a new deal exactly. You just have that option, right,
- 33:31Speaker 1: so you you have the luxury. And then I'm sure
- 33:33Speaker 1: that they can put something in his contract if you're
- 33:35Speaker 1: unable to play because it concussions, injuries or whatever. We
- 33:37Speaker 1: negate the whole thing. Well wouldn't, but still you can't.
- 33:41Speaker 1: It wouldn't be Also, the fifth year is not a
- 33:43Speaker 1: new contract. It's an extension of a contract. So you're
- 33:47Speaker 1: not really gonna put a bunch of new terms in there.
- 33:49Speaker 1: As much as it is you're going to sign the
- 33:51Speaker 1: fifth year of this because we have the option to
- 33:53Speaker 1: keep your year. I would sign him in a heartbeat,
- 33:55Speaker 1: even if he never plays. You just don't want to
- 33:56Speaker 1: go on somewhere else. And it's just so hard to
- 33:58Speaker 1: get quarterbacks unless you have a quarterback ready to go,
- 34:01Speaker 1: unless you have a car, even a Jimmy Gee. Yeah,
- 34:06Speaker 1: but for Matt Ryan. Now I'm gonna keep them. I'm
- 34:09Speaker 1: gonna keep them. What else? Last one? In honor of
- 34:11Speaker 1: the combine? What do you think you could run a
- 34:13Speaker 1: forty and right now? Oh gosh, what's like the average? Well,
- 34:20Speaker 1: let me pick yours, Eddie, I don't even know like
- 34:25Speaker 1: where I think you'd probably run a five five or
- 34:26Speaker 1: a five six, right. Yeah? You see us doing sprints. Yeah,
- 34:29Speaker 1: and that's our sprints up, not forties. They're like what twenties. Yeah,
- 34:33Speaker 1: they're just weren't getting loose. So we do a fifty
- 34:36Speaker 1: percent seventy five percent sprint and then four eighty nine
- 34:40Speaker 1: hundred or about twenty twenty five yards. Yeah, yeah, I
- 34:43Speaker 1: would say you're about a five five five six. Guy,
- 34:45Speaker 1: take it, man, But you don't know what that's compared to. Yeah,
- 34:47Speaker 1: but I like it. It sounds good. I do a
- 34:49Speaker 1: forty and five five. I love how that's that's like
- 34:52Speaker 1: a really big lineman. Oh really yeah, that's not fastening Dan, Well, no,
- 34:56Speaker 1: but you're not fast another am. I we're men in
- 34:59Speaker 1: our forties that are athletes and hey, but you know
- 35:01Speaker 1: what though, when we do the springts, we sound fast.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I love doing that running, dude. I don't grund. I
- 35:08Speaker 1: like this, you do you do that? That's me coming off?
- 35:12Speaker 1: The last is that you flying by? No, I don't
- 35:14Speaker 1: know that's what he takes off. I'm like, oh yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 1: when he flies by, it sounds like this. Okay, that
- 35:20Speaker 1: was good. I'm gonna put Eddie get a five six five.
- 35:24Speaker 1: You said I'm gonna put Kevin in like a five one.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I gotta get under five. No way, you can't get
- 35:32Speaker 1: a four nine not now. You're too old. Yes, you're
- 35:34Speaker 1: too old. Yes, you want to fly. You want to wager?
- 35:39Speaker 1: You want to fly on the street. Point, we can
- 35:42Speaker 1: do it, but we need to wager now, so you
- 35:44Speaker 1: don't go test yourself and then come for the bed.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Would it have to be on the street like in
- 35:48Speaker 1: regular shoes? Can it run on grab you know? Or
- 35:50Speaker 1: you're gonna bro yourn whatever you want? What are you
- 35:53Speaker 1: telling me we're gonna do all this go to a field? No,
- 35:55Speaker 1: let's just do it in the alley. We could do
- 35:56Speaker 1: it on the street. We could do it wherever. You
- 35:58Speaker 1: could go somewhere. Now we have some ass go with you. Yeah,
- 36:01Speaker 1: who's timing somebody? One of us? I think I could
- 36:06Speaker 1: get hunder five? Okay, so here's all I'll do. I
- 36:10Speaker 1: will put one hundred dollars up. You don't put any
- 36:11Speaker 1: money up. I put one hundred bucks on my money
- 36:13Speaker 1: up versus if you can't, you have to shave all
- 36:21Speaker 1: your face. Oh no, no, no, clean, No I don't.
- 36:26Speaker 1: It's one hundred bucks clean versus clean. If you think
- 36:28Speaker 1: you can get it, why doesn't matter. I've never seen
- 36:31Speaker 1: you without a beard. It's gonna be weird and gross.
- 36:32Speaker 1: But go ahead. I had a beard most I've only
- 36:34Speaker 1: had a beard for about a year and a half
- 36:35Speaker 1: or so. No, I'm good. It's confidence with away so
- 36:39Speaker 1: quickly because that takes months months ago. Oh but you're
- 36:42Speaker 1: not gonna lose tiree kill all of a sudden. Ain't
- 36:44Speaker 1: so cheetah anymore? Is I'd rather throw a hundred bus
- 36:47Speaker 1: out there. I go one hundred against you. You have
- 36:51Speaker 1: to you have to have four to ninety nine. Okay,
- 36:53Speaker 1: you're gonna go hundre one hundred. Yeah, okay, we'll do
- 36:56Speaker 1: it at some point coming up, we're gonna go to
- 36:59Speaker 1: you know, we do the last then we'll come back
- 37:01Speaker 1: love it. No training in between then, okay, No, you
- 37:04Speaker 1: can train all you want, buddy, Get out there, a
- 37:05Speaker 1: lot of ripa for the no chance it gets to
- 37:07Speaker 1: four nine nine. Nah, there's a little chance because he's
- 37:09Speaker 1: still kind of athletic looking. You had him at five one. Yeah,
- 37:12Speaker 1: who do watch you nail it? We time him it's
- 37:14Speaker 1: exactly five one. Do you think I can out run Kevin? Yes,
- 37:16Speaker 1: because I don't. I don't know if. I don't know
- 37:18Speaker 1: if I can, and I don't think I can break
- 37:20Speaker 1: five not Now. It's tough. I've seen you run, I'm
- 37:23Speaker 1: not seeing Kevin run. Kevin's definitely bigger, like muscular, but
- 37:29Speaker 1: I'm wiry and I feel like i'd have a shot
- 37:31Speaker 1: at beating you in a sprint. I don't think I
- 37:32Speaker 1: could beat five. It's gonna Yeah, it'll be tough if
- 37:36Speaker 1: I could get If it was like longer, it's easier
- 37:38Speaker 1: for me with the longer strides. I'm not very quick,
- 37:40Speaker 1: but I know quick. We're not doing a four hundred
- 37:43Speaker 1: I know. I know he's like, oh, not a marathon.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Oh okay, maybe it's just my I don't know. We're
- 37:49Speaker 1: we're on for the below, all right, what's up? The
- 37:59Speaker 1: can Anders are obviously selling the team right and now
- 38:02Speaker 1: there's a big drama with the team obviously because Dan
- 38:04Speaker 1: Snyder is not gonna go down without drama. And did
- 38:06Speaker 1: they get rid of wins? Well they did they Yeah
- 38:09Speaker 1: they should did that picture the letterman jacket popped up
- 38:12Speaker 1: on my feet and I was like, why is this
- 38:13Speaker 1: popping up again? It was like Carson Wentz and the
- 38:15Speaker 1: commanders are part of the ways. The federal probe and
- 38:17Speaker 1: to Snyder and the commanders has reportedly focused it's attention
- 38:20Speaker 1: on a fifty five million dollars alone that was taking
- 38:22Speaker 1: out sixteen months prior to the team's financial report, and
- 38:27Speaker 1: it's just it looks like financial it's not a crime.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I don't know if it's a crime, but it looks
- 38:32Speaker 1: like something somebody's doing because they know they can do
- 38:35Speaker 1: it before they found out what they were really doing. Like, well,
- 38:38Speaker 1: I can still get this money. I'm gonna try to
- 38:39Speaker 1: get it because once this all comes out, I ain't
- 38:41Speaker 1: gonna be able to get it, or I'm gonna get
- 38:43Speaker 1: it and stick it to whomever because they're gonna make
- 38:44Speaker 1: me sell the team and they're also gonna have to
- 38:46Speaker 1: pay this money back that I'm getting that took out
- 38:49Speaker 1: on the team's name. But I don't know, Dan Snyders.
- 38:51Speaker 1: She's all it's that's what it is. It's always something.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I don't want him out. I don't want I don't
- 38:56Speaker 1: want him out like crazy. Um So Coleman with you,
- 39:00Speaker 1: ab Coach Andy Kennedy, We'll come back into a little
- 39:02Speaker 1: more as well. Coach Kennedy, I want to get started
- 39:05Speaker 1: a little bit with your playing career. Seventeen hundred and
- 39:08Speaker 1: eighty seven points. Be honest with me, who had more
- 39:11Speaker 1: a game in college? You and Jelly Walker different types
- 39:14Speaker 1: of games. But I didn't have that wiggle for that bounce.
- 39:17Speaker 1: I think I think Jelly is one I have, if
- 39:20Speaker 1: not deep best player most definitely under six feet tall
- 39:23Speaker 1: and college basketball. His ability to go make plays off
- 39:25Speaker 1: the dribble, great space, he can shoot it deep deep deep,
- 39:29Speaker 1: off the bouts. He can get in the mid range.
- 39:30Speaker 1: He's gotten really good at a fishing and get into
- 39:32Speaker 1: the free throw line. I was a little different six
- 39:34Speaker 1: foot seven. I could play over the top. I tore
- 39:36Speaker 1: my ACL Back in the old days when you had
- 39:37Speaker 1: to sit out. Remember those days. You're probably known as
- 39:40Speaker 1: young as you are, but back in the old days
- 39:41Speaker 1: when you transfer it, I had to sit out and
- 39:43Speaker 1: in my sitout year ended up tearing my ACL. So
- 39:46Speaker 1: I played my whole career here after coming off a
- 39:50Speaker 1: torn ACL. I could really shoot it in My size
- 39:54Speaker 1: helped me play over the top of some people. Right,
- 39:57Speaker 1: Take me through a little bit of your pro career.
- 39:59Speaker 1: What you learned playing ball overseas? My first year when
- 40:03Speaker 1: when I was coming out, it was the first year
- 40:05Speaker 1: that the draft got reduced from three rounds to two rounds.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Back in the day, it used to be like six
- 40:10Speaker 1: and then they cut it to four, then they cut
- 40:11Speaker 1: it to three. My year out was the first year
- 40:13Speaker 1: they cut into two. Undrafted had an opportunity. I played
- 40:17Speaker 1: the Chicago pre draft camp, played the Portsmouth PI team,
- 40:21Speaker 1: then had opportunities to go and be with different teams.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I was in Charlotte Borns briefly. No guaranteed money, and
- 40:26Speaker 1: even if it was guaranteed back in those days, it
- 40:28Speaker 1: won't a whole lot of money. Had the opportunity to
- 40:31Speaker 1: go overseas, bounced around a number of different places owed
- 40:34Speaker 1: money and about seven different countries if you know it,
- 40:36Speaker 1: and learners on there. This was pre bibo where it
- 40:39Speaker 1: was like legit. You know they would they would they
- 40:43Speaker 1: would pay you when they wanted to pay you, but
- 40:45Speaker 1: I had a good experience, ended up tearing my right
- 40:48Speaker 1: a cl I had. I've had six total d operations,
- 40:51Speaker 1: but my last one, as I told my right a
- 40:53Speaker 1: cl by playing in the Summer League in Puerto Rico,
- 40:57Speaker 1: and that I lost the step. I could no longer
- 40:59Speaker 1: put up a board to lose. So that is when
- 41:02Speaker 1: I secuated into coaching. Okay, fast forwarding a little bit
- 41:06Speaker 1: to you at Cincinnati, what was it like being thrown
- 41:09Speaker 1: in getting your first head coaching gate granted with the
- 41:12Speaker 1: interim status, you're being thrown into the Big East. It's
- 41:15Speaker 1: your first head coach. Was really surreal. I remember this.
- 41:19Speaker 1: It was the first year that Cincinnati, along with Louisville, Marquette,
- 41:23Speaker 1: de Paul, a number of other people were leaving and
- 41:25Speaker 1: going into the Big East. That league was a really
- 41:28Speaker 1: good league. That was the old Conference. I was saying,
- 41:30Speaker 1: there were six bids out of that league. People can't
- 41:32Speaker 1: remember that there were six bids out of that league.
- 41:34Speaker 1: In the final year of being together, we go to
- 41:38Speaker 1: the Big East. So we go to the Big East preseason,
- 41:43Speaker 1: chip off the media Galla and they brought all the
- 41:46Speaker 1: teams together. We actually had a team picture. So here
- 41:48Speaker 1: I am. I have never coached in any level. I've
- 41:51Speaker 1: never called the time out at any level. And I'm
- 41:53Speaker 1: standing next to Rick Patino and Jay Wright and Jim
- 41:57Speaker 1: Calhoun and Jim bay Hum John blin that West Virginia
- 42:01Speaker 1: tim creen with them. Mart. I mean, it was like
- 42:02Speaker 1: it was like somebody self imposed my picture and everything
- 42:05Speaker 1: like some kind of gag. Right, So it was. It
- 42:08Speaker 1: was really a crazy year. I got it. I got
- 42:09Speaker 1: great love for Cincinnati, great basketball town, and they really
- 42:14Speaker 1: supported us when I was there with the Hudson They
- 42:16Speaker 1: ended up supporting me through my one year there. Funny
- 42:19Speaker 1: how things work out, you know, one day I'm coaching
- 42:22Speaker 1: Cincinnati and twenty four hours later, I'm the head coach
- 42:25Speaker 1: at Old Miss. Right. Take me through your first NCAA
- 42:28Speaker 1: Tournament bid. What did it mean to you? Twenty thirteen
- 42:30Speaker 1: been the first time in eleven years the Old Myths
- 42:32Speaker 1: had been to the NCAA tournaments. What did that mean
- 42:35Speaker 1: for you? The first time getting over the hump two? Well,
- 42:37Speaker 1: thankfully we didn't have to wait to see whether or
- 42:39Speaker 1: not we made it in. We captured the automatic bid
- 42:41Speaker 1: by by beating UH Florida in the SEC championship game,
- 42:45Speaker 1: so we knew coming in we were gonna be in
- 42:48Speaker 1: the tournament. We didn't know against who or where. We
- 42:51Speaker 1: ended up playing Bull Ryan in the Wisconsin Badgers having
- 42:54Speaker 1: and we beat them and had an opportunity. We're one
- 42:56Speaker 1: defensive stop away from making a run in the sweet sixteen.
- 42:59Speaker 1: So I had a great twelve years there. You gotta
- 43:02Speaker 1: remember I grew up in Mississippi, so coaching the flagship
- 43:06Speaker 1: university in your home state for twelve years pretty ideal.
- 43:10Speaker 1: What does it mean to you to be that program's
- 43:13Speaker 1: all time leader in wins at a Power six program
- 43:16Speaker 1: in that sec what's that mistake that it proves that
- 43:18Speaker 1: I was there a long time? You know, I was
- 43:20Speaker 1: able to stay ahead of the curve. You know there
- 43:22Speaker 1: were many times where they had handed me to the
- 43:24Speaker 1: blindfold and I had the cigarette and I was walking
- 43:27Speaker 1: the plank. They just didn't quite light it until twenty
- 43:29Speaker 1: and eighteen. But I had. I had a great run there.
- 43:31Speaker 1: A lot of great memories. Take me through what it
- 43:33Speaker 1: was like being named the head coach of the Alumna
- 43:36Speaker 1: wild World. You know, this was so weird. I was
- 43:39Speaker 1: at Old miss from post six to eighteen. My deal
- 43:42Speaker 1: ended in eighteen. I've got two daughters. One of them
- 43:44Speaker 1: was a was a junior at Stamford University, which was
- 43:47Speaker 1: a private school year in town, and my youngest when
- 43:50Speaker 1: we moved to Oxford, she was going into the first grade. Again,
- 43:53Speaker 1: my deal ends in March. In May, she graduated high school.
- 43:56Speaker 1: So I never had to move, which was in a
- 43:58Speaker 1: tremendous blessing, comping my biggest accomplice as a coach. I
- 44:00Speaker 1: didn't have to uproot my children. Yeah. And so when
- 44:04Speaker 1: when it ended, we could have moved anywhere in the country,
- 44:06Speaker 1: and we said, well, I knew at the time I
- 44:08Speaker 1: was going to do TV. I wasn't looking to get
- 44:10Speaker 1: right back into coach and I need to exhale a
- 44:11Speaker 1: little bit. Uh. And we thought about a number of
- 44:13Speaker 1: different places, but Birmingham was always home away from home.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I graduated here and my wife graduated from here. Our
- 44:19Speaker 1: daughter was at Sandford, our youngest was going to be
- 44:21Speaker 1: at Auburn. So I just made a lot of sense logistically.
- 44:23Speaker 1: I had no idea or vision of one day becoming
- 44:27Speaker 1: the coach here. Two years later, COVID strikes very bizarre time,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and on top of that, I was aforded the opportunity
- 44:34Speaker 1: to come home. How do you before you guys win
- 44:38Speaker 1: that tournament final and punch your bit to the dance.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Last year, how do you calmb your guys down following
- 44:43Speaker 1: a triple triple overtime semifinal win over Middle Tennessee State
- 44:47Speaker 1: to then focus on the task at hand of winning
- 44:50Speaker 1: the next day? Well, that's just what the game dictates.
- 44:52Speaker 1: You know. You just have to you have to get
- 44:54Speaker 1: to the next one. And our guys were really excited.
- 44:57Speaker 1: We're really excited about Frisco this year. We've got three
- 44:59Speaker 1: more games that we need to We need to finish
- 45:01Speaker 1: up strong in order to put ourselves in buy territory.
- 45:04Speaker 1: But last year going into Frisco, no disrespect to North
- 45:08Speaker 1: Texas who won the regular season and won it convincingly,
- 45:11Speaker 1: we felt like we were the best team and we
- 45:13Speaker 1: used the tournament to go and to prove just that.
- 45:16Speaker 1: And I know our guys have similar sentiments this year.
- 45:19Speaker 1: What was that feeling like, punction your ticket to the
- 45:21Speaker 1: dance here for your on the line. Oh, it's great.
- 45:24Speaker 1: You know, it's the first time since fifteen that you
- 45:26Speaker 1: had been to the tournament. A great pride in this program.
- 45:29Speaker 1: What gene Bartow did I had the opportunity to play
- 45:31Speaker 1: and learn from the founding father if you had the athletics.
- 45:35Speaker 1: And I have seen this building one of it's on fire,
- 45:38Speaker 1: both as a player and as an assistant coach when
- 45:40Speaker 1: I was here working from Jean's Sun Murray in the
- 45:43Speaker 1: mid nineties. So I know what this thing is capable of.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I know this is a great basketball community. We've just
- 45:48Speaker 1: got to get them a product to be excited about it,
- 45:50Speaker 1: and we've got to produce between the lines. We've been
- 45:52Speaker 1: pretty good twenty two and seven, our first year, twenty
- 45:54Speaker 1: seven and eight, last year, sitting at twenty eight, twenty
- 45:57Speaker 1: and eight as we speak, with three to go to
- 46:00Speaker 1: to get to the tournament. You bring in the Brewers
- 46:02Speaker 1: this offseason out of East Tennessee State. You bring in
- 46:05Speaker 1: a couple of SEC transfers also the year prior bringing
- 46:09Speaker 1: in kJ bringing in Jelly out of the transfer portal.
- 46:12Speaker 1: How have you been able to utilize it so successfully? A?
- 46:15Speaker 1: And then B? How do you get guys to gel
- 46:17Speaker 1: together that quickly? Well, you know we I'm glad you
- 46:21Speaker 1: didn't talk about all the ones I missed on, which
- 46:23Speaker 1: is certainly there's going to be a hit and miss
- 46:25Speaker 1: in this and it's got to make a lot of sense.
- 46:27Speaker 1: I have really learned over the two years that we
- 46:29Speaker 1: have really thrusted ourselves into the portal. I've learned a
- 46:33Speaker 1: lot along the way and some things that I'm going
- 46:35Speaker 1: to do different moving forward. When you bring in kids,
- 46:38Speaker 1: most especially older kids that have been to multiple schools,
- 46:42Speaker 1: it takes a little longer than you might imagined to
- 46:45Speaker 1: get everybody to understand this is what is expected here,
- 46:48Speaker 1: this is our path to success, and this is your
- 46:50Speaker 1: role in that path, and you're gonna go through some
- 46:53Speaker 1: up to nowls. We've certainly done that this year. We've
- 46:56Speaker 1: lost five conference games by a total of eleven points,
- 46:58Speaker 1: three of which in overtime. So you know, we're sitting
- 47:01Speaker 1: here twenty and eight, which a lot of people would
- 47:03Speaker 1: would take today, but we felt like we still left
- 47:06Speaker 1: a lot of brutal in the bund right to that point, Coach,
- 47:09Speaker 1: take me through a little bit in Jaanuary where you
- 47:11Speaker 1: go through that lull, lose I think five or six,
- 47:14Speaker 1: four of those by one possession games. How do you
- 47:16Speaker 1: rally the troops to have done what you've done now
- 47:19Speaker 1: in one seven of your last day? Well, you've got
- 47:22Speaker 1: to learn from it. I'm not one to believe that
- 47:24Speaker 1: you need a loss to get your attention, but sometimes,
- 47:27Speaker 1: as kids, maybe you do. We were going through a
- 47:30Speaker 1: lot at that time. We were losing close games, we
- 47:32Speaker 1: were being inconsistent. One night it was our defense. The
- 47:35Speaker 1: next night we have twenty two turnovers. The next night
- 47:38Speaker 1: we can't make a shot. It was just a lot
- 47:40Speaker 1: of different things. And then Jelly goes down. You know,
- 47:42Speaker 1: as we were losing these close games. As a coach,
- 47:45Speaker 1: you certainly know you have to make adjustments, but at
- 47:48Speaker 1: the same time you're losing by one two points, so
- 47:51Speaker 1: obviously not everything is broken. You just need to make adjustments.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Then Jelly goes down against Western Kentucky. So everything changed because,
- 47:58Speaker 1: as you well know, the seventh or eighth in the
- 48:00Speaker 1: country and usage here, so we put him in a
- 48:04Speaker 1: position where a lot of things are designed around him.
- 48:07Speaker 1: He missed five games, and then that five we had
- 48:09Speaker 1: to dramatically shift what we were doing on both ends
- 48:12Speaker 1: of the floor. But as a result of that, it
- 48:13Speaker 1: allowed guys like Tide Brewer, like Hella Brewer to expand
- 48:16Speaker 1: their roles and they really flourished in that. So now
- 48:19Speaker 1: that We're back home. Jelly's back home, our team's back hole.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I hope we're ready to play our best basketball this
- 48:23Speaker 1: season right for of that question, are you guys playing
- 48:27Speaker 1: your best basketball you feel right now leading into Frisco. Oh,
- 48:31Speaker 1: there's still a lot of things that we need to
- 48:33Speaker 1: improve upon, ball security, sense of urgency. But it is now.
- 48:37Speaker 1: We've got two weeks left in the regular season prior
- 48:40Speaker 1: to March Madness. Our hope our guys have the vision
- 48:43Speaker 1: in the awareness now it's an I were never What
- 48:46Speaker 1: is the X factor that you all need to do
- 48:48Speaker 1: this exceptionally well in order to win three straight in
- 48:51Speaker 1: the Frisco. For us, it's just about being the best
- 48:54Speaker 1: version of self. We have a formula that we know
- 48:57Speaker 1: how we can be successful. We've got to be Thank
- 49:02Speaker 1: you so much for your time today, Coach Kennedy really
- 49:04Speaker 1: appreciate thank you. So we're recording this part at a
- 49:07Speaker 1: slightly different time, and I'm gonna talking about the whole
- 49:09Speaker 1: rich eyes and experience. But I was I don't know
- 49:12Speaker 1: where I was, if I was there, if I was
- 49:13Speaker 1: still in the hotel tel Or and I see Eddie
- 49:16Speaker 1: it's playing golf. It popped up all like that. I
- 49:18Speaker 1: hate that, like the fact that I feel like it's
- 49:21Speaker 1: a Stoker app in a weird way, you know what
- 49:22Speaker 1: I mean. Like I'm living my life bro like, and
- 49:26Speaker 1: you're like always like playing golf. Huh so jealous? Well,
- 49:29Speaker 1: I can pa playing golf, and I understand I would
- 49:31Speaker 1: be playing golf too if I were you. But it's
- 49:33Speaker 1: like Eddie is playing golf. Where'd you play? I've played
- 49:35Speaker 1: at a Muni municipal course with Kevin. Kevin and I
- 49:39Speaker 1: played together. Yeah, huh well how'd you shoot? How did
- 49:43Speaker 1: every I do? We did all right? I mean, you know,
- 49:45Speaker 1: it's like what my third round back like playing back?
- 49:49Speaker 1: You're not coming off an a C. L Entry buddy,
- 49:51Speaker 1: you know. Season played for a few weeks, pretty good.
- 49:53Speaker 1: I shot eighty eight. Not bad? Okay, Kevin Hawd you played?
- 49:56Speaker 1: You play with Eddie's old clubs again until you get
- 49:58Speaker 1: new ones. Yeah, I I did. I did so well
- 50:01Speaker 1: that I didn't even keep score because I just didn't
- 50:03Speaker 1: even want to beat them that bad. You know. It's
- 50:04Speaker 1: one of those kind of days. It was great. I
- 50:06Speaker 1: felt that I texted Eddie and I was like, hey, well,
- 50:09Speaker 1: what's up playing golf? But he goes lea me alone.
- 50:10Speaker 1: I'm listening to a podcast, a very important podcast. Yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 1: it was rich. And then I found out he loves
- 50:15Speaker 1: me as Chewy in his phone, which I think he
- 50:17Speaker 1: may have told me that once but I didn't remember.
- 50:19Speaker 1: And what does Chewy mean? Is that just a name?
- 50:22Speaker 1: It's just a random name because in case I lose
- 50:24Speaker 1: my phone or gets stolen, they don't have like, oh,
- 50:27Speaker 1: look it's Bobby Bones number. You know what I mean.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I don't have famous people's numbers on my phone, so
- 50:31Speaker 1: that's the one that they would be like, Wow, let's
- 50:34Speaker 1: like FaceTime Bobby Bones. It's crazy. But then we know
- 50:37Speaker 1: who stole your phone. And I wish they would do
- 50:39Speaker 1: that so then we can catch them, because that's a
- 50:40Speaker 1: screenshadow back, you know. Yeah, you should just put my
- 50:42Speaker 1: name in his FaceTime Bobby Bones. Whenever you can see this,
- 50:44Speaker 1: he's ready for you. Hey, you that way? You know
- 50:47Speaker 1: what's stupid about Chewy though? It's it's the name is Chewy,
- 50:50Speaker 1: but the face on it is you. And I don't
- 50:52Speaker 1: know how that happened. I guess it's like something that
- 50:54Speaker 1: you send to your contacts, like to use. Oh, it
- 50:58Speaker 1: probably says do you want to use the picture of
- 51:00Speaker 1: so it says chewy, but it's your face that makes
- 51:02Speaker 1: no sense. Well, we're in Los Angeles today. I'm gonna
- 51:07Speaker 1: tell you last night we flew for four and a
- 51:09Speaker 1: half hours as exhausted because I worked all day. I
- 51:12Speaker 1: knew I had to do the show this morning, that
- 51:14Speaker 1: in the eyes and show, and the internet was out
- 51:17Speaker 1: and I couldn't believe it for four and a half hours.
- 51:19Speaker 1: And I know there are other problems in the world,
- 51:20Speaker 1: not many, not many as bad as that. Really, I mean,
- 51:22Speaker 1: look at the world and all the problems, sure, very
- 51:24Speaker 1: few are bigger than me, not hav any for four
- 51:25Speaker 1: a half hours, let's be honest. But the fact that
- 51:28Speaker 1: al Gore was on my plane too, so you aren't
- 51:30Speaker 1: jokilarious to me. No, I have pictures of it. That's crazy.
- 51:34Speaker 1: He stood up and he was like, he's so that's
- 51:37Speaker 1: we're all getting older. I think Fleetwood Mac said said
- 51:40Speaker 1: it best, or maybe not just maybe that was a
- 51:43Speaker 1: Fleetwood Mac which was she solo the or was that
- 51:45Speaker 1: just Fleetwood Mac sing it times get old, children get old,
- 51:53Speaker 1: not get older too. Yeah, as Fleetwood that's makes we
- 51:57Speaker 1: want to play it. It is okay, So oh, he
- 52:00Speaker 1: looked really old. All that to say, looked really old,
- 52:03Speaker 1: but he is old, he is. But Algore was on
- 52:06Speaker 1: the plane. Algore was on the flight. Derek Cuff was
- 52:09Speaker 1: on the flight. And first of all, I walked into
- 52:12Speaker 1: the airport and I see this really cool red jacket.
- 52:15Speaker 1: That's what it sticks out to me. I love red,
- 52:16Speaker 1: I love read everything. The damnit jacket's cool. This girl
- 52:19Speaker 1: was wearing his red jacket, and I was like, man,
- 52:20Speaker 1: I should I take a picture of that jacket because
- 52:23Speaker 1: I would wear it. And I didn't take a picture
- 52:24Speaker 1: the jacket because I didn't want to. Kume was creepy
- 52:26Speaker 1: and ended up being when I walked up closer to them.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Beside him was Kasey Musgraves. So then I'm glad I
- 52:29Speaker 1: didn't take the picture at all because I don't want
- 52:31Speaker 1: her thing I'll take a picture of her. I don't
- 52:32Speaker 1: wanted to lunchbox every where he go. So I texted
- 52:36Speaker 1: Mike and I say, Kasey Musgraves is here in the airport.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Maybe she's, you know, flying with us. Heads up, And
- 52:41Speaker 1: Mike's like, Derek Cuff's on the plane already, and I
- 52:43Speaker 1: was like, damn, we're getting on celebrity flight because we're
- 52:45Speaker 1: go in to LA. You know, it turns out Muskrats
- 52:48Speaker 1: was not on the flight because I saw her turn
- 52:49Speaker 1: into the delta like a HWI Twity lounge, which I met.
- 52:52Speaker 1: I go to the way Twittery Loune sometimes too, but
- 52:55Speaker 1: I didn't have time on this day. And then I
- 52:57Speaker 1: get on, I didn't see Derek Cuff anywhere, and Derek
- 53:00Speaker 1: Cupp was not in first class? Can you believe it? Yeah?
- 53:05Speaker 1: I believe it, Yeah, because like what is first class?
- 53:08Speaker 1: You pay extra to get your drink first before everyone else.
- 53:11Speaker 1: And Eddie, I was in first class of second of all,
- 53:16Speaker 1: but you didn't pay for that. There's no way you
- 53:18Speaker 1: pay for first class. I know that I did. You
- 53:21Speaker 1: did it? That's shocking. Well the deal that I well,
- 53:25Speaker 1: it's a four and a half hour flight. It's bas
- 53:26Speaker 1: the only time I'll do it because it's just so long.
- 53:28Speaker 1: And the fact that we were flying all the way
- 53:33Speaker 1: here and I paid for it. Otherwise when I fly
- 53:37Speaker 1: first class, who remember, I'm working four pays for It's
- 53:39Speaker 1: in a contract, right. But I wouldn't let Rich pay
- 53:41Speaker 1: me for this. He just donated to the animal shelter charity.
- 53:44Speaker 1: So I all this is out of pocket, flying out
- 53:47Speaker 1: here hotels, I brought my the girl that does my
- 53:50Speaker 1: hair and makeup or TV shows, like all this is
- 53:51Speaker 1: just me paying for it out of my pocket because
- 53:53Speaker 1: I just this was super cool to get to do
- 53:54Speaker 1: and get invited to do. And so that was that.
- 53:57Speaker 1: God here was exhausted. I'm like, okay, I can't wait
- 54:01Speaker 1: from my phone, just blow up with all the cool
- 54:03Speaker 1: text messages for over the last four and a half hours,
- 54:04Speaker 1: you know that feeling well, You're like, I've been disconnecting
- 54:06Speaker 1: for a while. I'm about to see all the cool
- 54:08Speaker 1: things I missed. Man, people are gonna be missing me.
- 54:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna get funny stuff. They're gonna be probably offers
- 54:12Speaker 1: to do cool stuff. And I get in and it's
- 54:15Speaker 1: like one message from like a rental car place, going, hey,
- 54:18Speaker 1: we have your car here a ready when you get down.
- 54:19Speaker 1: That's it. Four and a half hours, that was it,
- 54:23Speaker 1: And so get in, go to sleep and wake up
- 54:28Speaker 1: this morning, you know, do the show, and then we
- 54:30Speaker 1: have an hour in between before we go do the
- 54:32Speaker 1: Rich Eyesen show. I did a lot of notes last
- 54:34Speaker 1: night and went in and I was a little nervous because,
- 54:38Speaker 1: like I think being nervous for something that you enjoy,
- 54:41Speaker 1: like that's healthy because it's worth something to you, it
- 54:43Speaker 1: means something to you. And so I was a little
- 54:45Speaker 1: nervous and we go and I didn't know any of
- 54:47Speaker 1: the guys that run the rich eisenshow except for when
- 54:51Speaker 1: I listen on the podcast, and so we walk in.
- 54:53Speaker 1: We get a quick tour. But like I mentioned before,
- 54:56Speaker 1: when rich Eisen called me, he was like, do this
- 54:58Speaker 1: show however you want to do it, Like, we're not
- 55:00Speaker 1: bringing you in so you can run down the you know,
- 55:03Speaker 1: the roads that I've paved, like come in. Obviously they'll
- 55:05Speaker 1: be like clocks and you gotta get out of certain times.
- 55:07Speaker 1: And but it's like, don't just do what you want
- 55:10Speaker 1: to do it. So I was like, dang, okay, And
- 55:12Speaker 1: there's not the kind of the flexibility to well, I
- 55:16Speaker 1: got a pee, let me play a song, because sometimes
- 55:18Speaker 1: on our show will play a song. Sometimes we won't
- 55:20Speaker 1: for a long time. But if I got a pee,
- 55:22Speaker 1: or I want to get some to eat real quick,
- 55:23Speaker 1: I'll just hit a three minute Tyler far soong, you know,
- 55:26Speaker 1: and get the heck out of there. So but there's
- 55:30Speaker 1: not that it's three hours, no no songs, nothing, and
- 55:32Speaker 1: the breaks aren't any longer than two minutes or so
- 55:35Speaker 1: because there are times when we're on TV that we're
- 55:38Speaker 1: not on radio. So I never got to go to
- 55:41Speaker 1: the bathroom. I didn't know that, or I I would have
- 55:43Speaker 1: squeeze it out a little. I'd like rung out the
- 55:47Speaker 1: wash rag a little more before I went into those
- 55:50Speaker 1: You didn't go to the restroom, not three hours. I
- 55:52Speaker 1: couldn't at that time. But man, the studio's massive. It's awesome.
- 55:56Speaker 1: They have a putting green in there. They've got huge
- 55:59Speaker 1: monitor that I mean, it's way bigger than I thought
- 56:03Speaker 1: it was going to because most studios should go into
- 56:05Speaker 1: You're like, oh, this is really small, and why it
- 56:08Speaker 1: looks so big. It is because there are camera angles
- 56:10Speaker 1: that shoot from different sides. Therefore it makes it look
- 56:13Speaker 1: much grander. And went in sat at the desk. It's like, dang,
- 56:18Speaker 1: this is the coolest about to happen a little nervous,
- 56:21Speaker 1: but in a very very healthy way because I never
- 56:23Speaker 1: feel that way anymore. And I get excited when I
- 56:25Speaker 1: get to And they were like, all right, here we
- 56:27Speaker 1: go three two, and it's like the Rich Eyes and
- 56:30Speaker 1: show and here's your guests, Bobby Bones and the way
- 56:33Speaker 1: I went and I kind of blinked and it was
- 56:35Speaker 1: over three hours later. But some of the cool stuff
- 56:39Speaker 1: was the fact that Craig Kilbourne said yes to come
- 56:42Speaker 1: on the show immediately. I mean he was like, yeah,
- 56:43Speaker 1: I'll be there, no problem, I'd love to do it.
- 56:45Speaker 1: I did his podcast and I definitely don't think he
- 56:47Speaker 1: owed me, but I think, you know, we we don't tell.
- 56:50Speaker 1: I don't have his number, but we dm an okay
- 56:53Speaker 1: amount that Craig worn to me. It's like one of
- 56:55Speaker 1: the guys there was like, oh, there's an example of
- 56:57Speaker 1: somebody who got into sports. But then it was also
- 56:59Speaker 1: funny and enough to do the Daily show on Comedy
- 57:01Speaker 1: Central and late did a late night talk show, like
- 57:04Speaker 1: there really aren't any restraints if you don't allow them,
- 57:07Speaker 1: there aren't any. And I've kind of been doing my
- 57:10Speaker 1: career the same way, and so that was super cool
- 57:12Speaker 1: that he came in. I never met him before before.
- 57:14Speaker 1: He was six to five. It's stupid he's six or five.
- 57:17Speaker 1: It's stupid. I didn't know he was at dull and
- 57:19Speaker 1: he's super cool, super nice. Even during the break, super
- 57:21Speaker 1: dry said to humor. I kept him on for an
- 57:24Speaker 1: extra segment, and that was a real highlight for me.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Coleman came on the show today, which I was talking
- 57:30Speaker 1: to Mike and I said, Hey, we're really building this
- 57:32Speaker 1: resume at for old Coleman. Thank you. Like when he
- 57:36Speaker 1: leaves this show, he's gonna have been on the Eyes
- 57:38Speaker 1: that show. He's got all these interviews with coaches. I
- 57:39Speaker 1: mean it's awesome to see Coleman like really thrive. And
- 57:42Speaker 1: we had Coleman out today for a little bit. Had
- 57:43Speaker 1: you feel about it, Coleman, Oh, it was awesome. I mean,
- 57:46Speaker 1: thank you guys so much for the opportunity. But yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 1: just more exposure and more to add to the resume.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Like he said, He's like, I thought I was talking
- 57:54Speaker 1: rich even Coleman upset. He's like, yeah, I was going
- 57:57Speaker 1: on the show, but he was a guest host. He's like, well,
- 57:59Speaker 1: I talked to him every day. You know how you
- 58:02Speaker 1: said how you were jealous of me playing golf. I
- 58:04Speaker 1: mean I got a little bit of jealousy too, because
- 58:06Speaker 1: when the show started, it was almost like you know
- 58:08Speaker 1: the late show of just Like or is snl or
- 58:11Speaker 1: Like and the guests Coleman, Crawley, It's like college basketball
- 58:17Speaker 1: expert Coleman Crawley. I was like, damn, we just met
- 58:19Speaker 1: him like two months ago. He's just driving around and
- 58:24Speaker 1: have a job at all, and now of a sudden,
- 58:25Speaker 1: hiss college basketball expert on the national radio show. Yeah,
- 58:28Speaker 1: it was really thank you guys for stopped taking us, Dart.
- 58:34Speaker 1: I am no, no, you have to stop taking us.
- 58:37Speaker 1: You're one of us, so you have to bust our
- 58:38Speaker 1: balls and be like, why don't get more of the time. Yeah,
- 58:41Speaker 1: all right, So we we're gonna have joelan Ardy on
- 58:44Speaker 1: because I thought it'd be a great time to have
- 58:46Speaker 1: him on today too, and he heard Coleman was coming on.
- 58:48Speaker 1: I was like, ain't doing that? Um, I was like who, yeah, Lenart,
- 58:54Speaker 1: pretty I don't know what the person happened and he
- 58:57Speaker 1: had to back out. But and I think they were
- 58:59Speaker 1: putting guests on the show a bit as like a
- 59:02Speaker 1: safety net because they didn't know what I was gonna do.
- 59:04Speaker 1: And also I feel like the guys on the show,
- 59:06Speaker 1: as awesome as they were, they didn't know me, and
- 59:09Speaker 1: they didn't they have their set guest toast to come
- 59:12Speaker 1: in for the most most part, and all of a sudden,
- 59:14Speaker 1: here's this guy who doesn't even work like in sports
- 59:16Speaker 1: as a full time job, and he's coming in and
- 59:18Speaker 1: he's gonna host for two days, and I feel the same.
- 59:21Speaker 1: I'd be like, all right, well, what's happening in here?
- 59:24Speaker 1: But about fifteen minutes into the first hour, I could feel,
- 59:26Speaker 1: even though they were all super nice even to begin
- 59:28Speaker 1: with and welcoming, I could feel it just them go, Okay,
- 59:33Speaker 1: all right, he's for real. He's not just here because
- 59:35Speaker 1: he knows somebody or he's big in this other part
- 59:38Speaker 1: of the industry. And then it turned out to be
- 59:40Speaker 1: really good just three hours. I was pretty proud of it.
- 59:43Speaker 1: I haven't listened to it. I won't. I won't listen
- 59:45Speaker 1: to it. I got some pictures i'll look at, but
- 59:46Speaker 1: other than that, it was a really positive experience, Eddie.
- 59:49Speaker 1: How much did you listen to on the podcast? I
- 59:50Speaker 1: listened to the first hour and half of the second hour.
- 59:54Speaker 1: I haven't gotten to Craig Kilbourne any of that yet,
- 59:57Speaker 1: which I will later, but I gotta say, dude, like
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: it was very natural. It was almost like me just
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: listening to you do this or any anything else you do.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: You're very natural on the show. And I felt again
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: a little jealous because you vibed with those guys so well.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I was just like, well, you didn't need me or
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: Kevin anymore, Like I forgot to tell you I have
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a new best friend. His names Chris. Yeah, so yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: that's awkward. It was cool, though, dude. It was cool
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: listening to you on there and again it was just
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: very comfortable for you, and I enjoyed it. It was
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: almost like I was just driving from the golf course
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: to my house and listening, like it's pretty cool. Like
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: it feels like I'm just listening to Bobby on any
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: other you know, normal thing. Yeah, it was fun. It
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: was cool. We have one more day by the time
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: you guys hear this, the second day maybe over, but yeah,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: super fun. I don't really get to do a lot
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: of things just because I want to do them, meaning
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: they're so fun that I will put everything else kind
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: of on hold. But this is one of them and
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: it was worth it. And I was a little, I
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: will say, unsure, but I was a little it will
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: be a good I would use. I wasn't well, I
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: was gonna say I wasn't sure if that would be unsure. Huh,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: So I wasn't sure how going three hours non stop,
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: no no commercial breaks over three minutes. How much material
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: that is to fill in sports? Because if we do
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: our morning show, Bro, I can go in and I
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: have enough for a whole five hour show, plus I
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: got another two but also can go pee one, I
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: need to and go and grab something to eat, and
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: so a little bit. I was intimidated by just a
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: sheer amount of minutes that you don't leave at all.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: And yeah, it's pretty good bye. About two hours and
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: twenty minutes or so, I was like, all right, I
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: feel a little fatigued. But Craig Kilburne was coming on,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: and I was like, man, it's awesome, And if he's cool,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: we're gonna go two segments. So that's a super fun experience. Well, Coleman,
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: where did you do you're calling from? Actually I stayed
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: at a kid's house from Liberty. So he's an ex
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: Liberty grad that went to the Liberty game that I
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: was at previously, and so I stayed at his place.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: He's living in Charlotte, but he didn't come with me
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: to the game. Craig less misconnection or what how'd you
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: meet him? So? Yeah, I mean I've had a few
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: people DM me about wanting their school represented. He was
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: one of them that was consistent about it. So when
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: I came to the Liberty game, they hooked me up,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: rolled out the red carpet for me basically, and then
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: when I posted my future schedule of being in Charlotte,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: he was like, Hey, I live in Charlotte. You want
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: to crash at my place for a couple of days.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: So that's what I've done. Okay, I need to say
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: something everybody. I just relax for a second as I
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: say a prayer. Dear God's Bobby here, thank you for
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: not letting Coleman get murdered. Because a lot of people
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: will say somebody they meet online and they continue to go, hey,
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: I want to be your friend. I want to be
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: your friend. I want to be your friend. That would
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: be a stalker or a murderer. But Coleman didn't see
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: it as that. He saw it is just a place
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: to crash. So we'd like to thank you for blessing
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: us with Coleman again today because probably ninety nine out
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: of a hundred, I got to have an extra couple
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: of kidneys to donate or to sell in the black market.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: I mean, I think it's I interrupted the prayer. God,
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: thank you Lord for letting us do the show, and
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: for let me have a good lunch and have a
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: good rich eyes and show today, and for letting Coleman
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: be here safely, because that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: All Right, your name a prayman, Amen, good prayer, Bobby.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: This dude was do you know what you call somebody
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: who you don't know who keeps saying I want to
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: be your friend over and over and over again. Right, Well,
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: I met them at the Liberty game, So it wasn't
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: like I just how long? How long to spend with them?
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Two hours watching the game with him? You sat beside
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: like I knew the guy. Well, you sat beside him
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: for a game, yes, a whole game? Yes? Yeah, And
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: so did you have conversations about I don't know, his
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: love of murder podcasts, or we didn't have conversations about
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: his wife, his family, his time at Liberty. Seemed like
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: a great a guy that I could go stay at
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: his house. He hit a sleep at his house? You
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: didn't know? That's that is bizarre to me, Eddie. If
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: somebody met into the basketball guest just come sleep at
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: my house over and over again, like, hey, man to
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: me again, you want to come sleep in my house? Hey, hey,
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I've done it. I've done it, so like its crazy.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I went to Arkansas one time and I went to
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: a bar and I was either going to pay for
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: a hotel or this guy that I met at the bar.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: He said, Hey, you're just passing, dude. Just stay at
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: my house, and what's wrong with you? Guys? What's wrong
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: with you? Guys? It was free and he didn't kill me, dude.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: What was awkward, though, was the morning when I woke
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: up and he was like, yeah, I live at my
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: parents house and they're downstairs and we all had breakfast.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: I'm like, I gotta get out of here. This is weird.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Oh my god. Yeah, for sure, there's pictures of your
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: wiener on somebody's phone or the internet, probably, but there's
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: no face to it. It's all good. Yeah, it's a
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: good point. That's a good point. I can't believe you
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: guys would just say how how are the accommodations? Coleman fantastic?
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I mean, way too nice for me. Did he feel
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: like you're kind of famous? I to tell you the truth,
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: it does feel like that when people approach me that are,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: you know, excited at these goals or whatever, which is
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: weird because I'm just some random guy that hopped in
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: his car and decided to start recording smallman major college
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: basketball games. But yeah, I get that feeling a little
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: bit like you deserve it. Good for you, You're putting
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: in the work. You know eventually though, that that luck
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: will run out and you will die a bad you'll
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: get killed death and your sleep. Yes, yeah, yeah, I
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: need to probably be a little bit more leary, not
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: as naive. But it's gotten me here. Kevin. You ever
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: said anybody's house that you just met randomly? That's not
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: a chick. That's what I was just trying to think of.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: I was like, have I done this too? But I
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: can't think of one. I don't think even all the
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: nights have I've had out Eddie at a bar, random cities,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: random states, and I don't think countries even, And I
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: don't think I've ever even done that. But that you said, bones,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: that's not a chick. What's the difference. Oh, there's a
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: big Well, there's a there's a big difference, Eddie. Not
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: that I'm just saying. It's like what's the difference I
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: did what that dude? Would you do with a chick? No? No,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I'm just saying, like, you go home with a girl
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: and whatever, that's weird you don't know him, or you
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: go home that guy. Differences And I never listen. I
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: wasn't cool, and then I was also mature early, but
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: most like nobody wanted to take me home anyway. I
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: never did that, but I would have. I think maybe
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: when I was twenty two and been like, Wow, this
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: is this be fun. I was a virgin, a twenty
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: two tho, so I probably wouldn't have. But it feels
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: like it's a romantic, Like thinking back about it, like
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: you do it because you're like I want to go
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: and hook up, right, And you guys, you did it
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: because you wanted somewhere to sleep. Yeah it was free, Yeah, exactly.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Running low on funds two months in? Are you really
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: running low? Well, I mean I think that's you've been
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: a godsend. No, I mean really, are you running lolo
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: or are you running low? No? No, no, no, I'm
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: not running lolo. But it was nice. It's just like, hey,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna save two hundred bucks over the next two
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: nights that I completely understand. Now, what about your wife though,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: is she like bro run out of money? No? No, no, no,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: she she's killing it in her career. So she's doing fun.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Got your sugar, mama? Yeah, I like it. Yeah, So
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: the experience was super cool. Sports wise, I did watch
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: the first four episodes of Full Swing on Netflix. You
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: have to watch any of that yet, Yeah, I've watched
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: the first two episodes. Yeah, it's pretty good. I've watched
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: the Jordan's Feet that justin Thomas relationship, and then brooks Kefca,
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: which due on Bridge Eisen. When you were talking about
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: brooks Kepca, I'm like, yes, yes, what he's saying. Absolutely.
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: After I finished a segment, I felt a little bad
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: because I went hard. I was with you though, dude,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: you should see me in the car being like, uh huh.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: It was like his Haribean died blong. And it was
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: the fact just how he talked everything about him just
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: feels like that's not somebody really want to be friends with,
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: Like it didn't seem likable. And then the fact that
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: I know well, I mean the staff told me at
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: a hotel with my wife and I were staying at
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: they were just very very difficult everybody all And I
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: was like, already, don't like that out too, So I
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: had a kind of a preconcid feeling before even started it.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: But yeah, he didn't come off well. I know, they
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: tried to make him come off well, like he's being honest,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: and I didn't like him. Yeah, he was vulnerable, but
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I mean he was still kind of like just a
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: dude you don't want to hang out with. Yeah, his
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: house was pretty amazing, though, Dude, how about his house?
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: His house was pretty like and but also when his
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: wife even, I feel like they're perfect for each other
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: watching it, I just feel like they're perfect. She's really pretty. Yeah,
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: but I feel like they were. They just said that
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: same vibe, like, yeah, we're very cool, and you guys aren't.
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I was surprised she said that she slid into his
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: DMS that's how they met. It was like, good for you, Yeah,
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: she's like isolated his DMS. Yeah, you know, I don't
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: know how I feel about that. I guess I feel
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: fine about that. I didn't think anything about that at all.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: I just imagine guys like that probably have chicks like
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: crazy sliding in their DMS, right, exactly. Yeah, but I
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: think it's good. It's a good show. Maybe I want
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: to go play golf. And then I saw Eddi playing
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: golf to day, like dang it must That's why I went, guys, Oh,
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: go ahead, Sorry, I was just gonna throw my opinion
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: in there for the Brooks Kapti stuff. If you're gonna
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: act that way, you better continue to dominate because the
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: moment you stop having success, people are gonna hate you.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: You know, I didn't realize how dominant he was, and
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: I said that even today on the Rich Eyes and Show.
- 1:09:16Speaker 1: I knew he'd won the majors and I knew, but
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: I didn't realize that he would just kind of show
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: up to the big ones and crush him and everybody
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: was like, god, dang, he did it again. Yeah he winned,
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: and he was a semi consistent winner, and there you go.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: But this show is cool in that way because everybody
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: has their own their a little cup they could put
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: all their stuff and you get to drink it all
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: at once, the Scottie Scheffler stuff, and you've seen that
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: at all. Oh dude, the Scottie Chef. I love it,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and I love the difference between those two. You know, like, Okay,
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: that's the same episode, that the same episode. That guy
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: is the exact opposite of Brooks Cafe. Everything about him,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: every it's yeah, it's like, uh, you ever see SPI
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: or Spy the Old Black the old cartoon and where
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: it was like the like little birds and ones and
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: all black ones white and it was a complete opposite
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: of each other. Yeah, they have long noses. Yeah, that's
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: what it felt like, like those two is the exact opposite.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: And I like, I didn't realize again that Scheffler had
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: didn't win at all. Wins one event which was like
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the was it the crazy one in Arizonast whatever was
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: waste management? Okay, so it's just a tour event, a
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: big tour event, not a major and then goes and
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: it's on fire and like the course of three months
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: maybe goes from one hundred to number one. He's still
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: on fire. That is wild. You're gonna love the fourth episode.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: I don't want to kill too much of it here
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: talking working with you now, but the fourth episode is
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: uh Dahmer, That's what I was saying. It's uh jam Damer.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, he's kind of like a crazy dude,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: not that crazy on the surface. Yeah, he's like funny
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: and goofy. Yeah, but he's somebody who who is real
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: good but doesn't believe in himself, so he doesn't self
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: deprecating stuff. Okay, to make sure that no expectations put on.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: I mean I felt that. But it's really good and
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: you finish it and you're like, man, that guy one
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: has been through it. Hey, did you watch it, Kevin?
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: I did? Yeah, I made it up to that episode
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: that was my last one. You got I love him
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: not you. Yeah, he's definitely my favorite so far in
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: all those episodes because you're just like, come on, man,
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: you just want to root for him, and he's like
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: just a lovable, funny, goofy guy, but he doesn't believe himself,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: like he said, and you just want to root for him.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: He's like the underdog and you can't help but like him.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: A really good show. I'm excited to watch the rest
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: of it, even with the impoulter. Yeah, what about him? Who?
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Do you want to talk about it in a minute
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: or no, I'll talk about it. I've seen the whole um,
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: the clip the teaser where he like, you know, throw
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: something in his locker and he yells or whatever. And
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: then I saw a TikTok video of where they zoomed
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: in and there was a handle of Tito's in his locker.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: It's like somebody, you know, somebody watching like, oh, look
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: at this, maybe this is why he's pissed off. Well,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: so he's like forty six, so obviously a little older
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: in the golf game. And they do highlights fact that
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: it's been crazy he kept his card for that long,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: like he's still top whatever it gets, keeps PGA card.
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: And I know him from his clothes and his pants.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I guess I don't really know a lot about him,
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: other than I would just see him play sometimes, meaning
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: he wasn't somebody who want a bunch of majors. I
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: don't know if he's want to he used to. I
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: don't think he has no I can't identify him winning
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: a major, right, but he would win a lot and
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: in the Ryder Cup he never lost. He would play
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: against somebody and he never lost. And so this is
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: him being older, his family, and all it really was
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: was a vehicle to show you somebody who decided to
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: go over and play it live like live golf. And
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: I didn't hate I didn't hate him after it. How
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: much of this have you seen, Coleman? Oh? None? Okay,
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: That's why I was saying, I can't wait for this
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: journey then, so I can start that. I didn't hate
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: him after it, because he was like, hey, look this,
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: and they spent a bunch of time showing his family
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: and his kids, and he doesn't qualify to go play
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: the Masters, and he's struggling a bit, and they come
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: and they offer a millions of bucks. And well, also
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: what I was a little surprised by, I think they
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: said after thirty years of playing golf professionally, around thirty,
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: for maybe twenty six years, he had only made fifty
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: million dollars. Now, when I say only, I know, fifty
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: million bucks is a lot, but twenty five years, let's
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: say twenty five, fifty million is two million a year.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: And I know him as far as like he's famous
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: enough that I would know his face, and as much
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: as he's having to pay in to travel to all
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: these places. He's not making big time golf for money.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: It never has fifty millions a bunch, But over twenty
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: five years, when you're a very known face and person
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: in the PGA, I just would have expected it to
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: be a lot more. But those are winnings, not saying
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: that he's not making decent money too. Also with X
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: Y and Z when it comes to sponsors. But also
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: I don't think he's making massive sponsor money either, unless
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: it's like in the UK. So he's like, I gotta
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: play live. I don't I'm making that much money anymore.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: And he said, you know, you know, people say, hey, like,
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: don't you have enough money? And he goes, you know,
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: it's all relative, and I just want to make sure
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: everybody set up for a while, and so I want
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna go play anyone played he's on live, And
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: I didn't hate him for it. Honestly. After I finished it,
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I was like, you know, i'd hope to think I
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: wouldn't have played in that league. And after watching them
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: talk about that league a little more, I think I like,
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: I never liked it. I think I feel a little
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: stronger than it sucks than I did. I like that
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: it exists because it's making the PGA tour better. We
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: saw their announcement where they're gonna cut some of the events,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: are gonna have a hundred fifty people in it. You
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: know it's gonna be smaller or they're gonna do stuff
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: to make it better for us. They're watching, and my
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: excitement about Live was only that it was gonna make
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: the PGA tour better. But then I see, you know,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: people were like, well, where you are, Nike, and they
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: are committing people wrenking a sweatshops. They but I mean,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: the Saudi government really launched Live as kind of a
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: PR stunt so that you're not like, man, everything Saudi
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Rabi does is bad, because I mean, I guess it's
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: not all bad. They got Live, so it's just kind
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: of a vehicle for them to what they call sports wash.
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: Not granted, this is a person's perspective watching it, but
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: I finished and I was like, yeah, lives literally sucks.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: If I finished thinking that. And Phil Mickelson like he's
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: gone full Hollywood Hogan, meaning yeah, Hole Coogan, he's the same,
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: but Hole Coogan died his beard black and then became
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: Hollywood Hogan. Philson like, where's all black now? And has
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: like a black beard, like he went full heel, which
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: that was never him. And thing with Phil too, though,
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: was he's such in such gambling debt. I think that
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: he needed the money. Hey, I yeah, you know, I've
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: heard stories that. Like, you know, there was a guy
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: that a friend of mine who flew, you know, on
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: an airplane and he was sitting set next to a
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: guy and he said that what he does is go
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: to these tournaments, these golf tournaments, and on Saturdays when
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: the players missed the cut on Fridays, they go to
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: local you know, courses and they start gambling for money. Wow.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: And he said he used to play Phil all the time.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: All the time, Phil would miss the cut and he
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: would play on Saturday and Sunday there at the price.
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Phil would miss the cut all the time. I think
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: they all do, they all do. Huh. That's pretty cool though,
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: if you would know he's go out and you're the
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: one person following them. But it's crazy on a public course.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: What's crazy, gallery by yourself, is that this guy is
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: not good enough to play in the PGA Tour, but
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: he's good enough to gamble against these pros, which is amazing. Wow.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: There was a story I saw about a guy and
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: I don't think it was I think it was on
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: TikTok and he was the member at Augusta who wasn't
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: a pro golfer. But he's a member who, for like
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: fifteen years or so was the odd man up up,
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: meaning wants to cut happen if there were an odd
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: number of people. They weren't gonna let one person play
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: by themselves, so they sent a member, all the same
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: member for many many years, just to play with whomever
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: was the odd person up. So almost every year he
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: ended up playing the tournament. Now stuff didn't count, but
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: he just played along to keep the pace going and
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: often shot really well. And I think this is the
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: first year they removed him from n that's because he's
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: getting he's getting older. Does anyone know that story? I
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: don't know where I heard it. I hould you heard that,
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: but that's awesome. Yeah, it had to be on TikTok
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: because I get a lot of like just random crap.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Meet Jeff Knox, the lucky non competing marker who gets
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: to play the Masters. He's played with Tiger Ryan Bubba,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: and Jeff Knox is back at the Masters. So Staple thirteen. No,
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: this is twenty nineteen. I got it. But that's that's him.
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: But this is the first year he doesn't get to
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: be that guy because I think he's getting a little
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: older and can't quite keep up, so what have you?
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Shoots good enough to win? He's just like sorry, account,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: but he didn't play the first two days because they
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: launch all of those groups full obviously, so it's just
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: he's the odd man up. He's like a seat filler.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: That's how cool would that? And you know you're praying
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: every year, be odd, bey odd. I want to get
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: in a bed now. I never I never played at Augusta.
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: Not that it's normal to not play at Augusta, but
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: I got invited to play once, and then I got
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: a gift to play at Augusta once. That's the gift
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: is still there, right, No, no, say what happened? Oh no,
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I got I got invited to play once and I
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: was shooting American Idol and just couldn't go. There's no
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: way for me to get out of it. And you
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: have to play with a member. Now, sometimes you can
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: know a person who knows a member and it's like, hey,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: we're filling this group out on't you can play with
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: this The member also thinks you're cool, and so I
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: couldn't do it as beat up. And so two of
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: the people on my management team kind of my head managers.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: My birthday came around, not this year, but the year before,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: and they say, hey, we got your gift, and they
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: gave me a Master's like collared shirt. I was like,
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: oh cool, you know there they cool. It's nice. Say
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: thank you, and they're like, well, this is not all
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: we got you around it an Augusta as a gift.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: I'm like what they say, Yeah, there's the head of CIA,
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: which used to be my agent, and he's close with
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: the member and you and if Frank can go down
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: and play as a fourthong, we'll just get it all
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: lined up. And I was like, great, well smash cut.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Nine months later, I left CIA, so I don't have
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: that gift anymore. Oh no, yeah, I went to a
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: different agency, so I don't have that gift anymore. That's
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: not good. I know it blows, so but I'll try
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: to get us on somehow. I've bet Coleman's a good
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: golfer though, too. I'm okay, I'm okay. What's your handicap?
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: I'm probably about a five six. Ok, that's really good.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: It's the ugliest. Shut up. I hate this guy. Yeah
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: we invited them. Yeah, all right, I think that's it.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: This has been a long one because we taped it
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: over two days in me get into California. But it's
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: been a really cool trip and hopefully I don't screw
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: it up tomorrow. Let's have final thoughts around the room.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Let's go to Eddie first, Eddie Man Bones, I'm gonna
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: go back to um the Rich Eyes and show. When
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: you were on there, you you asked the guys there
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: his all his like you know his staff there, a
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: really cool question which just made me think of things
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: like you know, what's Rich like? And he wasn't there,
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: and they were just kind of messing around, like is
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: anyone listening or whatever, and I thought that was funny.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: But they really got a chance to like express really
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: what they were impressed by, and they've been with him
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: for so many years, and it made me think, like,
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: I know that you were there filling in for one
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: of your heroes, but at that moment, I thought, Bones
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: is really cool because I felt like one of them,
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: thinking about your career and thinking about how like, yeah,
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: the way one guy was talking about how Rich went
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: to the Hall of Fame and he just owned this
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: room of three thousand people, and I'm like, I've seen
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Bones own a stadium before, you know, and like I've
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: seen that. We've played so many shows together, and like, yes,
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: if a headphone goes out or ten years go out,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: I'm like Bones handles it like a pro. And I
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: would have answered all those questions the same way about
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: you that they did do Rich. So, dude, I'm proud
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: of you. It's really cool that you're that you were
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: on the show and that you're filling in again tomorrow,
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: and just want to say I'm proud of you. It's
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: really thanks man. That means a lot because it's it's
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: a wee thoughts Eddie. Yeah, way say Coleman, sweet thoughts Eddie.
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: It is. Hey, this is we thought. Have we got
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: see thought where you fix your microphone. Everybody's gonna get
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: to hear this when the thing's over, where Coleman can
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: freak and fix his microphone again. We've done like the
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: goes together two of them. His microphone didn't work. They
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: didn't even have a microphone. All right, great intro, Thanks
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: for leading into me that way. So my final thought
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: is you better appreciate the journey. The reason I say
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: that I've now seen four college basketball games where I
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: have watched a team season end and I'm up there
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: sitting up by the parents and watching seniors, you know, cry,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: hug their teammates um as they fall short of their goal.
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: And so I hope they don't see that failure and
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: look at that is the end. But they look back
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: at the four or five months in the building to
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: try and be great at something as a team, um
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: and and they fall in love with the journey. The
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: practice is, the bus rides, the team meals, everything like that.
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: You better fall in love with the journey because we're
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: all probably gonna fall short. You know you saying that
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: about them makes me feel that way, even about you,
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: because I was talking to those guys once we hung
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: up from the call when you were on the show
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: with me today, and they were like, Dann, that guy
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: just goes. I was like, I thought a reason I
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: hired him, Like I don't know how good he was.
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: I had no idea. I just see somebody who a
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: little bit reminds me of me. It was like, I'm
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: just gonna do it. It doesn't matter. I'm just I
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: built up. I'm gonna go and just do it, and
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna work as hard as I can I'm gonna
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: let the chips fall where they may make some strategic decisions,
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: but other than that, I don't have any help. So
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: let's just try to kick life in the balls and
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: see what happens. And so the same thing to you,
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: because you're gonna look back in a few years and god,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: I cannot believe when I was driving to all those places,
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: Like you can't believe it. But it's gonna be so
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: foggy because there'll be like an old version of you
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: that got you to the new version of you, because
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: you're definitely gonna get there, because you're not gonna stop
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: until you get there, right. I mean, you may not
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: get right now, but there isn't a plan be if
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: you don't have one. And with you, I just see
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: that grind and that grit and I respect it. And
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: I was telling those guys, I was like, I got
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: lucky he was good at talking because I was hiring
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: him just because of you know how hard he's going.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: He's terrible at microphones. But absolutely, you're not an engineer.
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: One thing the thing he doesn't do is engineer Like
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: it's a it's a literally you plug it into the
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: side of a computer and push on and then you go.
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: But for some reason he couldn't I don't know what's wrong,
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: couldn't spell on. It was a whole situation. So now, dude,
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: proud of you, same way that Eddie was talking about me.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: It's just like keep pushing. It sucks right now, but man,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: you're gonna be so happy you did it and so
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: proud of yourself later once you get it going. Does
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: this inspire you to what is it inspire you to do?
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: Like to do this, to do to be a coach,
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: to do like what's what is it? Um? I would
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: say definitely something like this. My favorite part of it
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: is the people interaction. I know it seems crazy me,
- 1:23:56Speaker 1: like responding to someone's random DM, like yeah, absolutely, I'll
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: watch respond it's going to their home and sleeping. Inde,
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: let's not act like it's you responding on a DM.
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: It's you getting naked and going I will sleep near
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: you and you have full access to everything. Go ahead, okay, okay, um.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: But I love the people interaction of everything, just hearing
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: their stories. Whoever it is I've interacted with, whether it
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: be a player's parent, whether it be a super fan
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: of a team, a college student. I just love the
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: human interaction. So I want to convince someone um and
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: perhaps it's just tweeting out, hey, who wants to be
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: my camera guy to come and record, because the interactions
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: that I have with others at these colleges are so
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: much better than the highlights that I'm showing. And I
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: can't video these interactions with people without being genuine in
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: the momentum. So I that's my next goal is convincing
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: someone to um, I guess be my videographer and doing
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: this again next year because I think there's another part
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: of the story that I haven't been able to tell yet.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: I'm trying to do it in the riding the blog's
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: going up, But there's another part of the story that's
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: so much better than what I'm showing on my phone. Cool,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: what are you gonna do when it's not basketball season?
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: Get back in sales? Probably if I don't get hired
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: by anybody in the next month, get back in sales.
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Let's say you do that. Let's say you get hired
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: by somebody in the next month, but they only are like, yeah,
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: we'd love to hire you for basketball season, or what
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: can you do when it's not basketball season? Because it's
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: gonna be tough for somebody to pay you a bunch
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: of money for just six months of the year. Absolutely,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: I would love to transitioning cover golf for the other
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: six months. That'd be ideal. I mean, the second that
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: college basketball ends, you've got the Masters, following after that
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: the four Majors, the playoffs, and then boom, I'd get
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: a month about to prep for college basketball upcoming. But
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: we only send her the Corn Ferry tournaments that yes
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: at Corn Ferry or Division two golf tournaments, and that's
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: it and nothing else. Kevin final thoughts, Oh where do
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: you go? He's crying there? All I see is like
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: a board blinking. He's probably trying to fix my terrible audio.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Yeah there, headphones back on, you go, dude. I want
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: to go check something to make sure before we stop here,
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: and by check something that can mean a lot of things.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Nobody's house, No, the audio that we already had from
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: the other day, and make sure the ends and now
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: it's were all good. Just make sure we all we're
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: all good here on the on the podcast. Yeah yeah,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: so you we're good though, yeah, yeah, yeah, we're good.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: All right. Well, Coleman just cried and told us that
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: he really wanted to dance, So you missed that. What
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: are your final dance? Yeah? Well he said, I was like,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: what do you want to do with your life? And
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: you got all emotional, said I think I just wanted
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: to dance. And then then we went to Passion of Mine.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: I haven't you weren't there? Yeah, yeah, yeah, sorry about that,
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Sorry about that. Well, you guys are getting a little
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: deep over here, but I'm gonna change it up a
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: little bit talking more golf. You know, Eddie and I
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: went today, like we said, and I had something happened today,
- 1:26:55Speaker 1: and I don't know if it's ever happened to you guys.
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: I don't know. If I just thought weightlifting, maybe Eddie said,
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: I won't do it. Hit the fore iron, and the
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: head came off of the fore iron, off of the tea,
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: and it probably wouldn't what fifty yards. That's not because
- 1:27:07Speaker 1: you lift weights or are strong. It's because those are
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Eddie's backup clubs, and they're old and we're chief. They
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: are from like two thousand and three. I don't know,
- 1:27:13Speaker 1: Eddie said, dude, I've never seen that before. Dude, the
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: club had went further than the ball. It was crazy.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: Oh that's why he didn't keep his score. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: when does that happen? I was like, it's gonna be,
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: you know, a little different day. Let's let's keep the
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: scorecard to you guys. What he's not mentioning the bones
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: they're yeah, like they're my clubs. And he hasn't said
- 1:27:30Speaker 1: once like, hey man, dude, should I pay you for that,
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: like or whatever? The broken wind? I would say no,
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: but he hasn't even offered. That's that's a good point. Um.
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: We were talking and I give my five. A couple
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: of final thoughts. We were talking about Kevin running a forty.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Kevin thinks he can break five, which I don't. We're
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: gonna go a hundred bucks against each other. But the
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: combine started yesterday, our Wednesday, whatever days to this, start
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: on Wednesday, and on Thursday, the big men, the defensive lineman,
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: they had their day where they were running and lifting
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: and jumping, and so here you go. The big Man
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: opened the workout portion of the NFL. This is from
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: ESPN in Lucas Oil Stadium, Innneapolis. The University of Pittsburgh's
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: Elijah Cancy. He's two hundred and eighty something pounds had
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: a four point six official time in the forty yard dash,
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: the fastest time by defensive tackle with the combines, it's
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: two thousand and six two hit a four point six
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: for a guy that big, How do you even get
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: it going? Like even like an eighteen wheeler Because I
- 1:28:33Speaker 1: had a cdo for a while when I was doing
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: my TV show. You can't just hit the gas and
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: it goes fifty. It's like a role. It takes forever.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: And I would compare these defensive linemen to those eighteen wheelers.
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: How this guy, this big can run a four to
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: six seven and then think about that and all the concussions.
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: No wonder Howay's getting concussions. No wonder two has got
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: eighty four concussions. When somebody that big hits you go
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: on that fast, it's gonna hurt, It's gonna be bad
- 1:28:58Speaker 1: for you. But that's pretty crazy. The guy's getting bigger
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: and stronger. And I really didn't understand the impact that
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: somebody that big would have until I got to know.
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: DeMarcus Ware who played for the Cowboys, is in the
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: Hall of Fame now or is going in? He just
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: got invited. Just inductions coming up soon. So when I
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: would be with him and he's massive and he can
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: move like a cat, I was thinking I would not
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: want to be a quarterback with this guy. He's so tall,
- 1:29:26Speaker 1: so thick, so strong. If he got up to seventy
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: speed and lowered his head, you're dead if he gets
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: a clear shot. So these guys, I mean to take
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: shots from guys like that is crazy. That's my first one.
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: My second one is I'm going to the Arkansas Kentucky
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: game on Saturday. Oh the game's that Oh, I'm I'm
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: on Pacific time here, right, So the games that won,
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: so it's a day game, which is fine. We have
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: to win this game, and Kentucky's been playing really well.
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: We have to win this game. I don't know if
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: we're gonna make the ncbab A tournament if we don't
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: win this game or win a couple in the SEC tournament.
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: Like our net is good enough and we should be fine,
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: but it has not been a great situation in the
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: last couple of games, and we've had really hard teams
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: to play. Play Tennessee in Alabama back to back Tennessee
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: game was not great at all. But we gotta win
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: this one. In Kentucky. I'm gonna be there and it's
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: a white out and I'm being all white, and I
- 1:30:21Speaker 1: got my big hat, my big hat, really big hat
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: I was gonna wear. It's a white out, you are
- 1:30:26Speaker 1: You're wearing the white two. Why don't you wear red?
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: That's not what a white out is, Eddie is the
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: white the white outs. Everybody wears white, so the whole
- 1:30:35Speaker 1: place looks like it's yeah, that's for Kentucky. Now we're
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: in Arkansas though, Oh my bad, I thought you were
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: in Kentucky. My bad. No, no, no, we're in Arkansas. No,
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: I'm not going to a Kentucky white out wearing white.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: I was gonna say, did you go to Kentucky white
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: you were? You were red the only dude in there.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: This hat is one of those giant hats. I love it.
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: It would be like taking a regular hat and putting
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: it on a g I Joe. It's basically what it
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: looks like. And I'll tell my wife is I'm gonna
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: wear this in the game, And she says, do you
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: not get enough attention already? I was like, what do
- 1:31:06Speaker 1: you mean? She goes, first of all, do you not
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: get enough attention regularly? We go places all the time,
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: everybody wants to stop and talk and take pictures, and
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: she's being funny about it. She's like, and then of
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: course when you go back to the Arkansas Games, it's
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: just it's like the prodigal son has returned and she
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: goes and all that, You're still gonna wear a big
- 1:31:25Speaker 1: stupid hat at so everybody stared at you, and I
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: was like, I'd like to yes, so right, you gotta
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: do it. Yeah, But she has some great points. She
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: does am I just doing it for more attention? Or
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: am I doing it for the laughs? I think it's
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: for the laughs. Why did the guys wear? I don't Coleman,
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: maybe can help me some team, was it Kansas? Maybe
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: they're wearing thongs, like like there were like five dudes
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: in the front wearing nothing but like bathing suits, speedos,
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: Like why do they do it? Not for attention? Well,
- 1:31:54Speaker 1: I think it's for the combo attention and laughs. Those
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: two can kind of coexist. And her point is you
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: get attention to laughs every day all day. And so
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: if we're gonna go have okay, if I'm gonna take
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: a date, because here's the thing, the promiser I didn't
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: realize we're going to this game. I got it mixed
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: up because I was gonna take Eddie with me. Yeah,
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: I promise you, Eddie got movie big. I felt bad
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: telling him this. I promise there we go on this
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: date like a double date, and then it turns out
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: I'm just like, let's just grab those same friends. We'll
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: just take him to a basketball game. And that's the
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: only way I was able to pull it off. Um. So,
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: I don't know if I whear the hat, but i'd
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: love to. It's massive and it's hilarious. But do I
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: need the laughs? Don't need the attention gags? Yes, I
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: do want it, say yes, I crave it. Yeah, Okay,
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: that's it. Thank you guys for listening from the from
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: Mike's Hotel room, which is where I am now, which
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Mike's hotel is bigger than mine. I just wantedybody to
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: know this. I walked in here and I was like, wait,
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: what I paid for the hotel room? Do somehow I
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: got the crappiest hotel room. This is some bull crap.
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: That's it. You guys, have a great weekend and we
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: will see you on Monday. By everybody, and I saw
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: Coleman pop up on screen and he's where the heck
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: are you? I'm at Liberty Press conference at Liberty. Yeah,
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: they just let me have the media room for the podcast.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: What he's like the bell of the ball at every
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: mid major in America. Like he's living the greatest life ever.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: It's also so wait, you're in Liberty. You're at Liberty, Virginia.
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Go ahead? Sor yeah? To watch a game? Yes, yes,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: a son SEM final. Whenever we saw you last, I
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: guess it was Monday. Where did you go after that?
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I've got to think. I don't even
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: know what today is. He's like a touring artist who
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: doesn't He's on the road so much. He's blank wanted
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: to two in two thousand and two, doesn't doesn't? Okay,
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: go ahead. Monday was I was at Kennesau State watching
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: North Florida play Queens. Queens got the wind to move
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: on to play Kinnesau State at Kennesau State the next day.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: That's where I was Tuesday, Kennessau got a one point
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: when it was a crazy game. Um, and then yesterday
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: I went to the Big South first round tournament. So
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: I gotta see two games in a neutral court. I'm
- 1:34:10Speaker 1: gonna be honest. There was maybe two hundred people at
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: both games. Um, so that was kind of crazy to see,
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: knowing how intense it is the team's seasons are about
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: to end. But then it feeling dead silent for the
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: majority of the game. Um, but that was fun. Two
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Big South games and then today at Liberty for the
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: Ace Sun semifinals. Are you tired of basketball? I'm not.
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: I'm a little tired physically, emotionally, probably mentally, but not
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: a basketball. Now. We'll come back to Coleman in a second, Eddie, Yo, Hey,
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: we need to turn Coleman's mic down a little bit. Sorry, guys, Okay,
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: that's not loud to me, so I didn't noticetop him? Yeah?
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Is it better? No, it's still hot. Go again. It's
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: almost like, is not doing it anything? Remember what it was?
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: The opposite We couldn't get his Okay, how about now
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: is it way lower? No? Same? How about now I've
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: gone the opposite direction. Same. Oh that's a little better,
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: go go a little more. Okay, how about now in
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: the room keep talking? How about now, dang, it's the
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: same man, Why don't you just turn the pot down? Yeah?
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Because that's everyone. Everyone's on one pot it is. Yeah, hey,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: it's still the same, Kevin, Do I need to just
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: what about on the microphone? What about on your butt
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: in the mite? The different setting? Maybe? Is this better?
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: The top one? Turn it down? Yeah, it turn it down? Yeah? Yeah,
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: how about now that's oh my god, the opposite way,
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: all the way up. Oh my god. Just step away,
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: just step away from it a little bit when you talk. Hey, Eddie,
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: he's got it though, No Coleman talk talking now, that's
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: much better. Yeah, that definitely sounds better. This whole two three,
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: this whole part. Put this at the very end of
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: the podcast. Sorry, doing Coleman's microphone again. It's so brutal.
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, okay, so we're good, but save this, Kevin.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: Put it at the end. Okay, okay? Is it better?
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: Does it sound fine? It's definitely better. Just start to
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: back up a little bit or go a little more. Yeah,
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: don't put it all the way. That touched your your
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: your hangy bangy, like you got it so deep in
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: your throat. We can it's touching your hangy banging back there. Okay,
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: how about now, oh that's beautiful. Good. Now he's talking about.
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: He's talking like this, Hey, guys, how do I Are
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: we ready to go? Now? Sounding better? Yeah, yeah, that
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: is a good Yeah, we're good. Okay,
