- 0:02Speaker 1: Welcome to the note Paulty.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hi, this is Nick and Ostasu, story editor on Star Wars,
- 0:10Speaker 2: The Clone Wars and Star Wars bad Batch, and you
- 0:14Speaker 2: are listening to aggressive negotiations.
- 0:24Speaker 3: It's that time again for aggressive negotiations. You're sweet, sweet
- 0:30Speaker 3: taste of Star Wars Heaven, and I am just one
- 0:32Speaker 3: of your hosts here Matthew Rushing, and we're so excited
- 0:35Speaker 3: to be coming at you from well a planet that
- 0:37Speaker 3: we're not really sure what to call it. But there's
- 0:39Speaker 3: a very strange glow of force energy coming from the
- 0:44Speaker 3: middle of it. And I don't know. I thought I
- 0:46Speaker 3: saw Yoda and R two D two. Anyway, I'm one
- 0:49Speaker 3: of your hosts of Matthew Rushing, and with me as
- 0:51Speaker 3: he is every single week, is none other than Jedi
- 0:55Speaker 3: Master John Mills. John, you're looking glowing the sea.
- 0:59Speaker 1: It's my r My Force Arara has truly taken over
- 1:03Speaker 1: the airways at this point, and it's my true self
- 1:05Speaker 1: revealing who I am. But more importantly, wouldn't the true
- 1:11Speaker 1: measure of real ascendants from a Jedi be being able
- 1:17Speaker 1: to get to that magical weird force planet thingy without
- 1:22Speaker 1: the use of a ship.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Now I think it would be reviewing us on Apple Podcasts.
- 1:28Speaker 3: That's really weird. Please do that. You can also find
- 1:33Speaker 3: us on social media on ex Twitter at the Jedi Masters.
- 1:37Speaker 3: You can also find us with the entire network on
- 1:39Speaker 3: Facebook at Facebook dot com, slash the Nerd Party. You
- 1:42Speaker 3: can also find us online at the nerd Party dot com.
- 1:44Speaker 3: And so we would love to interact with you in
- 1:47Speaker 3: all of those places, and so please do. But John,
- 1:51Speaker 3: something that the first season and the second season of
- 1:56Speaker 3: and or both reference is the Racottans, who we know
- 2:02Speaker 3: from the Knights of the Republic game, are very big
- 2:06Speaker 3: part of that game, in the lore of Star Wars
- 2:09Speaker 3: history in the distant past. But you know, we're also
- 2:13Speaker 3: aware of things like this planet that Yoda visits right
- 2:18Speaker 3: in the Clone Wars. We have the Mortis arc in
- 2:22Speaker 3: Clone Wars. We've got this whole other galaxy in Ahsoka,
- 2:27Speaker 3: and where then the Witches of Datamir came from. And
- 2:34Speaker 3: all of this just kind of weird stuff, right, that
- 2:37Speaker 3: seems to connect us to a much I mean, talk
- 2:41Speaker 3: about taking a step into a much larger world, right.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Something I was thinking about though for you in the
- 2:50Speaker 3: thought process that we may possibly be getting a film
- 2:52Speaker 3: from James Man goold about you know, very early Jedi,
- 2:58Speaker 3: the beginning of the Force, YadA YadA. Who knows exactly
- 3:01Speaker 3: what it may or may not be and if it
- 3:03Speaker 3: ever even gets made. But do we want things to
- 3:07Speaker 3: give us more explanation around all of these mysteries or
- 3:12Speaker 3: is there something to be said for allowing the mystery
- 3:16Speaker 3: to stay a mystery and therefore allowing the audience to
- 3:21Speaker 3: kind of make up whatever it is that they want
- 3:25Speaker 3: in their own minds.
- 3:27Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure I've come down firmly on the side
- 3:31Speaker 1: of leaving a lot of things a mystery, because the
- 3:36Speaker 1: only thing you can possibly do is disappoint people unless
- 3:41Speaker 1: you absolutely stick the landing. And by sticking the landing,
- 3:46Speaker 1: and I know everybody's going to sit to yeah, fanboy,
- 3:48Speaker 1: all that type of thing, but.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Sticking the landing is like Clone Wars.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I never would have if you had posed this question
- 3:56Speaker 1: to me and said, do you want to see the
- 3:58Speaker 1: planet that is the wellspring of the forest the galaxy?
- 4:00Speaker 4: And I'm be like, Oh, that's no, that's a terrible idea.
- 4:03Speaker 4: What on earth?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Why on earth would you do that? That's crazy? But
- 4:07Speaker 1: then we go there in the Clone Wars as you
- 4:09Speaker 1: alluded to, and oh, well, okay, that was actually more
- 4:12Speaker 1: delightful than I thought it would be, because the trick
- 4:17Speaker 1: is to go a little crazy. What I mean by
- 4:21Speaker 1: that is finding that well spring of the force and
- 4:24Speaker 1: seeing all that type of thing.
- 4:25Speaker 4: Like we went a little.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Crazy there, Like it was just it was to borrow
- 4:30Speaker 1: a term that that we use in our circle.
- 4:32Speaker 4: It's bonkers.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's not safe. And so the fear becomes if they
- 4:38Speaker 1: start going into explaining quote unquote things, then they're going
- 4:43Speaker 1: to follow the urge of well, we have to make
- 4:45Speaker 1: sure it's a this, or it's a that, or it
- 4:47Speaker 1: has to.
- 4:47Speaker 4: Fit in this way or that way.
- 4:50Speaker 1: And honestly, the beauty of the prequels and the Clone
- 4:53Speaker 1: War series and the Bad Batch and everything like that is, Yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 1: there's connective tissue that goes in. It's not dictating what
- 5:02Speaker 1: happens with the story. That's where I think the trick becomes.
- 5:08Speaker 1: I don't think they're obligated to and I would if
- 5:11Speaker 1: I were sitting there in their like little Jedi Council chamber,
- 5:14Speaker 1: I would be counseling them as a default to be
- 5:19Speaker 1: against it unless they could throw an idea out there
- 5:21Speaker 1: that wowed me so much I'd be like, Okay, just
- 5:26Speaker 1: crazy enough that it could work if you let yourself go.
- 5:30Speaker 4: Nuts with it.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I think utilizing those clone wars arcs is really the
- 5:38Speaker 3: correct jumping off point for this discussion, because the thing
- 5:43Speaker 3: about them is is that they may answer one to
- 5:48Speaker 3: two questions, but they then raise forty seven and it's yes.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And to me, I think that is the correct way
- 6:01Speaker 3: to do this that if you were you know, I
- 6:05Speaker 3: think the same thing happened. And I was thinking immediately
- 6:09Speaker 3: as you start talking like Okay, yes you can do this,
- 6:12Speaker 3: but then what happens if you do it badly?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Right?
- 6:16Speaker 3: Which most people got up in arms about the whole
- 6:19Speaker 3: idea of the Midichlorians from the Phantom Menace, right, But
- 6:23Speaker 3: to me, what the beauty of met Midichlorians was not
- 6:28Speaker 3: that they answered how people had the force. What they
- 6:32Speaker 3: did is they raised so many more questions than about
- 6:36Speaker 3: this microscopic life form and how they are a part
- 6:40Speaker 3: of every living being in all of this stuff, that
- 6:44Speaker 3: it's like, Okay, what Lucas was actually doing was creating
- 6:49Speaker 3: even more depth with even less answers than creating more answers,
- 6:54Speaker 3: you know, And I think that's the thing that people
- 6:57Speaker 3: kind of missed. And so therefore, where if we are
- 7:01Speaker 3: going to kind of dive into some of these mysteries,
- 7:05Speaker 3: which I don't think there's anything wrong with doing. I
- 7:07Speaker 3: mean again, I think the whole thought process of maybe
- 7:11Speaker 3: even and or inadvertently or you know, maybe who knows,
- 7:17Speaker 3: on purpose kind of setting up some ideas that they
- 7:20Speaker 3: might actually utilize in an old Republic style setting. You know,
- 7:27Speaker 3: that's great to me. At the same time, again, I
- 7:30Speaker 3: think there really are you know, I think you rightly
- 7:36Speaker 3: put it, there are two roads you can walk down
- 7:38Speaker 3: with this. You either walk down a road that allows
- 7:42Speaker 3: some of an audience natural questions to be answered, but
- 7:46Speaker 3: then naturally raises many more questions, so you're always leaving
- 7:52Speaker 3: audience members with a sense of mystery. And I think
- 7:55Speaker 3: that's the thing maybe that kind of Star Wars in
- 7:59Speaker 3: general actually tapped into, right, is that there was this
- 8:04Speaker 3: sense of spirituality and mysticism and those type of things
- 8:10Speaker 3: in this series that a lot of films at the
- 8:15Speaker 3: time had completely gotten away from because we had really
- 8:20Speaker 3: dug into gritty realism in film right and Lucas kind
- 8:25Speaker 3: of rightly understood that the stories that stay with us
- 8:30Speaker 3: tend to be one that have these metaphysical questions to
- 8:39Speaker 3: them layered in and they don't have to be, you know,
- 8:44Speaker 3: ones that overtake the story, but there are layered in
- 8:48Speaker 3: there because they're natural questions that we have as human beings.
- 8:52Speaker 3: And so yeah, I mean I think it's a really
- 8:55Speaker 3: interesting question.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Well, I think that let's take the Mangal things, like,
- 9:00Speaker 1: you know, it's the birth of the Jedi quote unquote
- 9:02Speaker 1: whatever that's rumored. Cool, no problem with it right again,
- 9:07Speaker 1: so you know you can do it right, You can
- 9:09Speaker 1: do it. It's a trick, you gonna have to walk
- 9:11Speaker 1: a tight rope. But I would offer that the source
- 9:14Speaker 1: material from Lucas's day exists there where I think it's
- 9:19Speaker 1: the episode one novelization. Don't come at me if I'm
- 9:21Speaker 1: getting it wrong, but I know I've read it in
- 9:23Speaker 1: one of the materials that's quote unquote cana whatever you
- 9:26Speaker 1: want to call it.
- 9:28Speaker 4: Where knowledge that the Jedi existed before knowledge of the Midichlorians.
- 9:36Speaker 1: So if you're going to get into like the origin
- 9:39Speaker 1: of the Jedi or something like that, and even more
- 9:41Speaker 1: interesting movie to me is somebody who suddenly figures out
- 9:45Speaker 1: how it all works. What you're talking about, the metaphysical
- 9:47Speaker 1: question where somebody's sitting there and they're like, why can
- 9:50Speaker 1: we do this? How is this even possible?
- 9:53Speaker 4: Right?
- 9:54Speaker 1: And then you can get into things of like the
- 9:56Speaker 1: story of the first Lightsaber what did that look like?
- 9:59Speaker 1: And we know that when Lucas was developing the sequel trilogy,
- 10:02Speaker 1: one of the concept things that came out of it
- 10:04Speaker 1: was what did the first Lightsaber look like? And it
- 10:07Speaker 1: was like two pieces of wood wrapped around a crystal
- 10:09Speaker 1: sort of thing. So it's like, that's what I'm talking about.
- 10:11Speaker 1: You gotta be willing to get crazy with it, right,
- 10:14Speaker 1: because if you have a movie that's being made by
- 10:16Speaker 1: a conglomerate, oh, a lightsaber can't possibly work like that,
- 10:20Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah blah. Whereas Lucas and the team
- 10:24Speaker 1: he had assembled were free and willing to look at
- 10:28Speaker 1: something and be like, well, what if a Jedi just
- 10:31Speaker 1: made the crystal give a beam of light using the
- 10:34Speaker 1: force or something? And that, in and of itself, to
- 10:36Speaker 1: your point about raising more questions points us in the
- 10:39Speaker 1: direction of, oh, well, maybe the Jedi really have gotten
- 10:41Speaker 1: really far away from their roots because their most signature
- 10:45Speaker 1: weapon didn't even need the technology that they've built around
- 10:48Speaker 1: it in that modern age, and it showed their own
- 10:52Speaker 1: sort of straying away from the true pure thing, which
- 10:56Speaker 1: gets even more into Lucas's whole thing about like being
- 10:58Speaker 1: as close to the natural world as possible is the
- 11:00Speaker 1: way that you should be living your life. Like you know,
- 11:03Speaker 1: just having this discussion right here, that sort of thing
- 11:08Speaker 1: gets in there. But I promise you, and this this
- 11:11Speaker 1: gets back to the warning. I would have somebody heard
- 11:14Speaker 1: the words that just came out of my mouth and said,
- 11:18Speaker 1: you're crazy, that's nuts, that's there's no way that's going
- 11:22Speaker 1: to work. That's a dumb idea, right, And it's like
- 11:27Speaker 1: you have to be willing, as Lucas was to say,
- 11:32Speaker 1: I don't care if somebody thinks it sucks. This is
- 11:34Speaker 1: the story that has to be told. This is what's
- 11:37Speaker 1: necessary two things, and not care whether people loved it
- 11:42Speaker 1: or not. What was his quote was like he thought
- 11:45Speaker 1: it was like building a house and people said, you know,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you should build a white house and I but I
- 11:50Speaker 1: wanted a greenhouse. So I built a greenhouse and that's
- 11:52Speaker 1: the house that I wanted. And I don't care whether
- 11:54Speaker 1: you like it or not. I'm paraphrasing there, but words
- 11:57Speaker 1: along those lines.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:59Speaker 3: One of the you said there that I really liked
- 12:03Speaker 3: is the whole idea is that there are a couple
- 12:08Speaker 3: that really stood out. One is that you really truly
- 12:11Speaker 3: have to have a very deep understanding of the Star
- 12:17Speaker 3: Wars universe to be able to plumb these kind of depths, right,
- 12:20Speaker 3: because what you talked about was this idea that you're
- 12:22Speaker 3: going to go crazy. But then when you think about it,
- 12:27Speaker 3: it all seems to connect. And that's the thing when
- 12:30Speaker 3: you think about again the Mortis arc or the Yoda arc. There,
- 12:34Speaker 3: this is way out there stuff, and yet it feels
- 12:40Speaker 3: like it fits, and it feels in a way that
- 12:44Speaker 3: answers again some of my questions but leaves me with
- 12:47Speaker 3: so many more, Like, you know, who are these priestesses
- 12:51Speaker 3: that are on that planet with Yoda that have all
- 12:54Speaker 3: of these different faces? They seem to be one and
- 12:57Speaker 3: the same, you know, and yet different and all of
- 13:03Speaker 3: this crazy stuff right, and yet the crazy feels right.
- 13:09Speaker 3: And I think that's that's really the interesting thing to me,
- 13:14Speaker 3: is that the crazy has to feel right, and you
- 13:18Speaker 3: can do crazy and it turned into something else, right,
- 13:24Speaker 3: It can come at you in a way that comes
- 13:28Speaker 3: off like maybe some more of the you know, I
- 13:32Speaker 3: don't want to throw shade, but you know, it comes
- 13:35Speaker 3: off more like the stuff you see in less successful
- 13:39Speaker 3: versions of Star Wars that we've seen. I'll just leave
- 13:42Speaker 3: it at that.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Less creatively successful versions of Star Wars.
- 13:46Speaker 3: Yes, yes, and so, and that's where again I I'm
- 13:54Speaker 3: going to come down on the side then when it
- 13:56Speaker 3: comes to this question, which is that you can absolutely
- 14:01Speaker 3: delve into these types of topics, but you have to
- 14:05Speaker 3: do it in a way that makes me feel as
- 14:09Speaker 3: though that I am satisfied with the answers I get
- 14:14Speaker 3: as a person, and wow, because you just did something
- 14:18Speaker 3: that I wasn't expecting, yet at the same time didn't
- 14:22Speaker 3: leave me feeling like there were no more mysteries to
- 14:26Speaker 3: plumb the depths of That's the thing is, like I
- 14:29Speaker 3: they're always is this is the beauty of Star Wars,
- 14:32Speaker 3: and I think this is where it kind of works
- 14:34Speaker 3: the best, right is where theyre always more mysteries to plumb.
- 14:38Speaker 3: And you can do this in the most metaphysical way, right,
- 14:44Speaker 3: or you can kind of do this in the way
- 14:46Speaker 3: in which I think like the Bad Batch or something
- 14:48Speaker 3: like and or have done where it's like, Okay, we
- 14:50Speaker 3: have this time period and we're going to plumb the
- 14:53Speaker 3: depths of what does it mean for the Empire to
- 14:56Speaker 3: be ruler of the galaxy for almost twenty years?
- 15:01Speaker 4: You know?
- 15:01Speaker 2: Right?
- 15:02Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 15:02Speaker 3: I mean and there even though those two shows exist
- 15:06Speaker 3: and as long as as well as Rebels, I still
- 15:10Speaker 3: feel like there's so many other questions that you could
- 15:13Speaker 3: answer in that time period. Those shows didn't give me
- 15:18Speaker 3: the end all be all right.
- 15:20Speaker 4: I think that this gets to.
- 15:24Speaker 1: The heart of why anybody would feel trepidation about, you know,
- 15:29Speaker 1: an upcoming project having to deal with X Y or
- 15:32Speaker 1: z is. I think we're both getting right back to
- 15:35Speaker 1: that whole point of it can't be conceived of in
- 15:39Speaker 1: a boardroom or blessed by a committee.
- 15:43Speaker 4: It has to be something that's I am not a committee.
- 15:47Speaker 1: Yeah, it's one of those things where it has to
- 15:52Speaker 1: be something so unafraid of failure, but it's something that
- 15:58Speaker 1: still gives you something to think. I would say that Solo,
- 16:01Speaker 1: a Star Wars story is the same thing. Oh well,
- 16:04Speaker 1: he's got the falcon, but we know that he's just
- 16:07Speaker 1: about to work for Java, So what else is going on?
- 16:10Speaker 1: I guess to your point about the questions. Oh okay,
- 16:12Speaker 1: you've answered these things, but there's still so much more
- 16:16Speaker 1: I want to know about. And it's a right goss
- 16:20Speaker 1: darn travesty that I'm not going to get that to
- 16:23Speaker 1: make another solo movie just as an animated series or something. Okay,
- 16:27Speaker 1: like the channel is there open to you, you cowards,
- 16:30Speaker 1: give me another solo Star Wars story movie. I don't
- 16:33Speaker 1: care what the medium is. Have it is just like
- 16:36Speaker 1: an animated flip book. I don't care, just something anyway.
- 16:42Speaker 1: It really does have to do with who's at the Helm.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And let me qualify it further by saying, if you
- 16:49Speaker 1: have a really creative filmmaker at the Helm, that's one thing,
- 16:54Speaker 1: But if you have corporate directive shaping the store, that's
- 17:02Speaker 1: where things can really you know, I mean, look, just
- 17:09Speaker 1: not to put too fine a point on it, I'm
- 17:10Speaker 1: not even talking about Star Wars and specific or Disney
- 17:12Speaker 1: buying it. Just so that people don't think, you know,
- 17:14Speaker 1: don't get your hackles up sort of thing about that
- 17:17Speaker 1: I'm talking about. I'm going back and I'm revisiting some movies,
- 17:22Speaker 1: you know, through through the years, stuff like that. I'm
- 17:26Speaker 1: showing old stuff to my kids, new stuff to others.
- 17:29Speaker 1: And I just watched Tommy, the movie adaptation from nineteen
- 17:34Speaker 1: seventy five of the Who's Rock Opera, and the movie sucks.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Sorry if I'm offending anybody, it sucks, but it sucks
- 17:43Speaker 1: in a glorious way. You know what update the reference.
- 17:46Speaker 1: It sucks in a Megalopolis way in that I love it.
- 17:52Speaker 1: I love Megalopolis because it's fearless, because it's nuts, because
- 17:57Speaker 1: it's unhinged. It is a film you're completely unafraid just
- 18:01Speaker 1: to be like boom, here it is and walk away,
- 18:04Speaker 1: and here's I spent more than one hundred million dollars
- 18:08Speaker 1: making this thing. That's what needs to happen if we're
- 18:11Speaker 1: going to get into this territory. The complete absence of
- 18:16Speaker 1: fear in what you're going to make, and the complete
- 18:19Speaker 1: willingness to be crazy with it, but not in a sterile,
- 18:23Speaker 1: anadyne or cynical way. We've gotten crazy in Star Wars.
- 18:27Speaker 1: We've also gotten cynical crazy in Star Wars. And that
- 18:31Speaker 1: is what the problem is.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Well, I do think that that is the thing that
- 18:37Speaker 3: as you're talking about, Look, Star Wars is made by
- 18:42Speaker 3: an our tour who is telling his story. Consequences be damned, right.
- 18:49Speaker 3: He doesn't care because he's using his own money to
- 18:53Speaker 3: tell his story the way he wants to and whether
- 18:57Speaker 3: you like that story or not, because that's the story
- 19:00Speaker 3: he has to tell, because it's something inside him that
- 19:03Speaker 3: was driving him, right. And I think that's kind of
- 19:06Speaker 3: the thing that you're getting at then with if you're
- 19:11Speaker 3: going to kind of talk about these types of depths
- 19:14Speaker 3: and Star Wars, you have to be willing to just
- 19:16Speaker 3: do what's best for the story, regardless of kind of
- 19:20Speaker 3: whether or not.
- 19:21Speaker 4: People immediately love it.
- 19:23Speaker 3: And the thing that we've seen obviously in Star Wars
- 19:28Speaker 3: is that people have begun to come around to Lucas's
- 19:33Speaker 3: way of thinking, especially when it comes to the Clone Wars,
- 19:36Speaker 3: when it comes to the prequels. I mean, there is
- 19:40Speaker 3: a new appreciation for those things because people have been
- 19:44Speaker 3: able to kind of let go of their own preconceptions,
- 19:46Speaker 3: come back to it with a different state of mind,
- 19:50Speaker 3: and realize, Oh, that's what was happening, that's what's going
- 19:54Speaker 3: on here, that's the thought process, And I think that's
- 20:00Speaker 3: the thing of kind of doing the crazy, right. So
- 20:04Speaker 3: much of filmmaking these days is about, Okay, we just
- 20:07Speaker 3: got to give people the same thing but different, and
- 20:11Speaker 3: one of the things that Lucas was doing was not that,
- 20:16Speaker 3: And especially again when it came to the prequel era
- 20:20Speaker 3: and exploring some of these mysteries. I'm not giving people
- 20:24Speaker 3: what they want. I'm giving them what I want because
- 20:29Speaker 3: I'm the storyteller and this is the story I have
- 20:31Speaker 3: to tell for the universe I created, And this is
- 20:34Speaker 3: what's coming out of me as the storyteller, not because
- 20:38Speaker 3: somebody wants it, because that's just what's there. And that's
- 20:43Speaker 3: where I think, you know, and all the conversations that
- 20:47Speaker 3: you know, we kind of get who should run lucasfilm,
- 20:50Speaker 3: And oh is Dave Feloni too?
- 20:53Speaker 4: You know?
- 20:53Speaker 3: And is he got too much Star Wars Lord? It's like,
- 20:59Speaker 3: that's the dumbest question I've ever heard. Why, Because you
- 21:02Speaker 3: can't have too much Star Wars lore if you're making
- 21:05Speaker 3: Star Wars. I think it's George Lucas had too much
- 21:09Speaker 3: Star Wars lore because he is Star Wars and and
- 21:12Speaker 3: so like anyway, I don't that's probably a whole o
- 21:17Speaker 3: their podcast. But all this to say is like I think,
- 21:20Speaker 3: when it comes to telling these type of stories, you
- 21:24Speaker 3: do unequivocally have to be unafraid, Yeah, to get nothing.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Well, I'm gonna give you two things here. One.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You want to get nuts, let's get nuts.
- 21:36Speaker 4: I'll give you two things here. One.
- 21:38Speaker 1: The whole thing is like, oh, you know, I understand
- 21:41Speaker 1: when people are like, oh, well, you know, maybe somebody
- 21:44Speaker 1: native to lucasfilm is too you know, too internally focused.
- 21:48Speaker 1: They're not going to try to grow the audience. They're
- 21:49Speaker 1: not going to try to get crazy. They're not going
- 21:50Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah. But then you look at Ahsoka
- 21:52Speaker 1: season one. It never even occurred to me that to
- 21:56Speaker 1: go outside the galaxy before I saw that, and I
- 22:00Speaker 1: was like, oh wait, why didn't I think of that?
- 22:04Speaker 4: That's the that's great, that's where we're going. That's great,
- 22:07Speaker 4: all right.
- 22:07Speaker 1: You know, okay, we're going to the Hamptons. Anybody who
- 22:10Speaker 1: watch Seinfeld gets that reference. And then I'm going to
- 22:14Speaker 1: close with a contentious thing and go right into the
- 22:16Speaker 1: sign off and not even give you a chance to reply.
- 22:19Speaker 1: But you know, we both keep praise on Lucas because
- 22:22Speaker 1: he did the I'm going to tell what the story
- 22:24Speaker 1: is necessary. He didn't play it safe with the prequels,
- 22:27Speaker 1: and when you play it safe with a prequel. That's
- 22:28Speaker 1: when you get Rogue one, a Star Wars story. So, Matt,
- 22:30Speaker 1: where can people find you online?
- 22:34Speaker 3: Well, you can find me all over social media under
- 22:36Speaker 3: the name Matt Rushing zero two. Of course, here on
- 22:38Speaker 3: the network you'll find me with our post talking about
- 22:41Speaker 3: every single chapter the Harry Potter series, one chapter time,
- 22:44Speaker 3: and then over on the TFM network you'll find me
- 22:48Speaker 3: doing a bunch of shows. One is the six o
- 22:51Speaker 3: two Club, where we talk all about the franchises we
- 22:53Speaker 3: love and sometimes some Star Wars. In fact, we may
- 22:57Speaker 3: be having a crossover coming very soon. But you could
- 23:01Speaker 3: also find me doing a lot of Star Trek talk
- 23:03Speaker 3: over there, so check all of that out. But John,
- 23:05Speaker 3: if people wanted to catch up with you and maybe
- 23:07Speaker 3: respond to what you just said before we went into
- 23:09Speaker 3: the clothes, where can people find.
- 23:10Speaker 4: Oh, nobody wants to reply to me about that?
- 23:13Speaker 1: You can find me as kessel Junkie on your social
- 23:14Speaker 1: network of choice. You can of course reach out to
- 23:16Speaker 1: us at the nerd party dot com slash contact. We
- 23:19Speaker 1: still have a couple of listener letters we're going to
- 23:22Speaker 1: get to and you can listen to me here on
- 23:24Speaker 1: the nerd Party on house Lights, which I think is
- 23:27Speaker 1: a delightful show because it's usually me half drunk, ranting
- 23:30Speaker 1: at Tristan and Darren about why they're wrong about their
- 23:34Speaker 1: movie opinions. And recently we've been talking about the screen
- 23:37Speaker 1: movies and they're not horror fans and they don't know
- 23:39Speaker 1: what they're talking about.
- 23:39Speaker 4: So check out Houselights.
- 23:41Speaker 1: But Matt, with all of that said, I think I
- 23:44Speaker 1: hear the dinner bell back at the Jedi Temple, so
- 23:47Speaker 1: I think it's time to close these negotiations.
- 23:51Speaker 3: John, negotiations are clothes. Join the Revolution, Join the Nerd Party.
