- 0:35Speaker 1: beat on the claps this morning.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Well, I think Pooh was off.
- 0:38Speaker 1: God. Yeah, you were.
- 0:40Speaker 3: It was you, Pooh.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I'm like, with the most rhythm in this room, I
- 0:43Speaker 1: wasn't off. Now that's funny.
- 0:45Speaker 3: He was hustling it, though.
- 0:48Speaker 1: We all clap at the beginning of the show, and
- 0:50Speaker 1: I have a broken hand, so I can't clap, and
- 0:52Speaker 1: it's thrown off my whole morning.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Maybe it was me. I'm a little squirrely today.
- 0:55Speaker 1: No, I'm watching Pooh clap to a different beat. Well,
- 0:58Speaker 1: I thought.
- 0:59Speaker 3: I started clapping earlier.
- 1:00Speaker 7: Than I normally do today, and I was like, wow,
- 1:02Speaker 7: I hit that beat right on the first one.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You did, Candace. You were riding that beat.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Pooh was riding another beat. Anyway, Candace, how are you?
- 1:11Speaker 3: I'm okay. I just wanted to warn y'all what kind
- 1:13Speaker 3: of mood I'm in today. I'm in like one of those, you.
- 1:15Speaker 7: Just have to laugh moods because there's just so much
- 1:18Speaker 7: laughable stuff happening on the internet and just in life.
- 1:21Speaker 3: And I just, that's where I'm at today. It's Friday.
- 1:24Speaker 1: So it's not, it's not necessarily a bad mood.
- 1:26Speaker 3: No, it's not a bad mood. It's just like, I'm just.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Should I sound the horn?
- 1:30Speaker 3: I mean, no, no, no, no. Not like that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: No, not at all. Okay.
- 1:34Speaker 3: That was last week.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Um, there's just so much laughable stuff happening.
- 1:38Speaker 7: I've just been on the internet this morning and just
- 1:40Speaker 7: listening to things around me. But side note, I feel
- 1:43Speaker 7: really bad because I got you guys a bagel yesterday.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Remember I was talking about going to pop up bagels.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I'm so hungry too. Yeah.
- 1:49Speaker 7: My neighbor has a five, five day old baby and
- 1:52Speaker 7: she wanted the bagels.
- 1:53Speaker 3: So I was like, I'm going to pick them up
- 1:54Speaker 3: and take them to her. Um, and I left those
- 1:57Speaker 3: bagels on the counter.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I know.
- 2:01Speaker 8: I know.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Are you serious?
- 2:03Speaker 7: You just have to laugh because I go to all
- 2:06Speaker 7: this trouble to get extra bagels, leave them right on
- 2:08Speaker 7: the counter.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I just it is for your.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Friend with a five day old baby.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Well, no, I took him to her.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Oh, she got.
- 2:14Speaker 3: No, she got him immediately.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Now we're going to get five day old bagels.
- 2:17Speaker 3: Well, I don't think it's going to be worth waiting
- 2:19Speaker 3: till Monday for.
- 2:20Speaker 1: I've been looking forward to this bagel. I know.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I'm sorry. It's on the counter.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well, happy Friday.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Maybe I could Uber it here.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, please don't. Enjoy it, Eric. Yeah. Thanks. Thanks, Candace.
- 2:34Speaker 4: I know.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I'm so mad about that.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I got you guys the best bagel.
- 2:38Speaker 1: I'm like, good. I'm hungry. Can't wait. They'll just melt
- 2:41Speaker 1: in your mouth and everything. It's at home.
- 2:43Speaker 3: You just have to laugh.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You just have to be hungry. You know? I know.
- 2:48Speaker 3: They were pretty good, though.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Tell me all about it.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not a bagel connoisseur, so I don't know
- 2:53Speaker 3: how to compare them to good bagels, whether they were
- 2:55Speaker 3: good or not. I mean, I thought they were great,
- 2:57Speaker 3: but I don't know.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Well, I know a good bagel, but I wouldn't know
- 3:00Speaker 1: this one.
- 3:00Speaker 2: No.
- 3:01Speaker 1: What's it called again?
- 3:02Speaker 3: Pop-up bagels.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Not popping up here. I know.
- 3:05Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Thank you, Candace. You just have to laugh. Yeah.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I'm sorry, guys.
- 3:10Speaker 1: They're called at-home bagels. At home, got a new food line.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Good for you, Candace.
- 3:15Speaker 4: All right.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Well, it's a thought that counts. Thank you anyway.
- 3:17Speaker 8: I know.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 3:18Speaker 1: We appreciate that. Producer Pooh, what's up with you? Man,
- 3:21Speaker 1: went to Ross yesterday. Got me some new jorts, some t-shirts. Everything.
- 3:26Speaker 6: Went home to wash them. I hear a pop in
- 3:29Speaker 6: my dryer when I threw everything in the dryer.
- 3:31Speaker 1: No.
- 3:32Speaker 6: They had one of those ink. Remember the ink tags
- 3:34Speaker 6: so you can't steal it?
- 3:35Speaker 8: Oh, no.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But I never noticed it because it was on the
- 3:39Speaker 1: inside in the crotch area. Well, it didn't work that
- 3:41Speaker 1: good if you walked out of the store with it. No, right? Yeah, exactly.
- 3:44Speaker 1: But it was in the crotch area on the inside
- 3:47Speaker 1: of the shorts. Who does it like that? Come on, man.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Why would they do that? Have you ever seen Ross?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Just put it on the leg or the waist? I know.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Put it on the leg. Put it on the belt loop. Something.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Ross is pure chaos. That place looks like his war zone. Oh, man.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Went through it. So it got ink all over your clothes?
- 4:05Speaker 1: All over the clothes. I called up there.
- 4:06Speaker 6: I was like, hey, man, one of these security tags
- 4:09Speaker 6: exploded in my dryer. He was like, oh, bro, you
- 4:11Speaker 6: still got the receipt?
- 4:13Speaker 1: And I was like, uh.
- 4:15Speaker 6: No, but I have it. You know, I charged it
- 4:17Speaker 6: or whatever. I can bring you that.
- 4:18Speaker 1: How did you lose the receipt in one hour?
- 4:20Speaker 3: It was in his pocket already?
- 4:21Speaker 1: Yeah, because I didn't even.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Did you wash the receipt?
- 4:23Speaker 1: No, I didn't even grab the receipt. I just took off.
- 4:26Speaker 1: You didn't grab the receipt? Yeah, you know.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Oh, you were so excited about your t-shirt.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was a nice t-shirt I wanted to rock.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I wanted to rock. A new weekend fit for y'all,
- 4:35Speaker 1: but nope. Anyway, but he told me. We don't care.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Trust me. He told me, come back. Told me, come back,
- 4:42Speaker 1: and he'll take care of it. Oh, good. He's like, yeah,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I'll hook you up. But man, I was like, I
- 4:45Speaker 1: heard a pow, and I was like, what's going on?
- 4:48Speaker 3: I didn't know that would happen.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah. You can't put those things in the dryer. In
- 4:51Speaker 1: the dryer?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:52Speaker 3: They really have ink inside them?
- 4:54Speaker 8: Oh, yes.
- 4:54Speaker 3: I thought it was just like a sensor to go.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Off of the door. No, no, no. Some of them
- 4:57Speaker 1: are plain, but the ink ones, yeah.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, yikes. I'm sorry, Pooh.
- 5:02Speaker 6: I used to know a lot of boosters, and that
- 5:04Speaker 6: stopped them dead in their tracks.
- 5:05Speaker 1: What does that mean? Boosters? You know, boost clothes? Oh,
- 5:08Speaker 1: you know, the people who shoplift.
- 5:10Speaker 3: People stealing stuff.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Yeah, and then they— You call them boosters? Yeah, back
- 5:14Speaker 1: in the day, that's what we used to call them. Boosted. Yeah, see? No!
- 5:18Speaker 1: Back in my day, we called them boosters, see?
- 5:20Speaker 3: Boosted in George's.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Everywhere. Boosted in George's at Ross. What's up, George? I
- 5:25Speaker 1: went to ULIS yesterday.
- 5:28Speaker 8: ULIS? Oh, wow.
- 5:29Speaker 1: To boost some clothes. No, you didn't. Yeah, no, my
- 5:32Speaker 1: son had a football game out there. That's right. Here's
- 5:35Speaker 1: the problem. It was delayed because of lightning.
- 5:37Speaker 8: No.
- 5:38Speaker 1: So I didn't get home until almost 11 o'clock. What?
- 5:42Speaker 1: And we lost. That's an NFL game.
- 5:45Speaker 3: And it still didn't rain.
- 5:46Speaker 1: It was lightning and barely was one sprinkle. I was
- 5:49Speaker 1: all excited because it looked like it was going to pour.
- 5:51Speaker 3: It got so windy at my house. I was like, yes,
- 5:53Speaker 3: it's coming. The dark clouds, nothing.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Nothing. So, yeah. You know what I got to say?
- 5:58Speaker 1: I'm surprised, though. I am really surprised at some things
- 6:02Speaker 1: that parents say at these games. Really?
- 6:03Speaker 3: Is it bad?
- 6:04Speaker 8: Oh, my.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Worse than Little League Baseball?
- 6:07Speaker 1: Oh, yes. Oh, boy. I think it's because I'm not
- 6:11Speaker 1: used to sitting on the same side. You know, usually
- 6:13Speaker 1: there's opposite bleachers. Right. But at this field in ULIS,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're on the same side. Some of the stuff these
- 6:19Speaker 1: parents are screaming at these kids, I'm like, hey.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Really?
- 6:23Speaker 1: That's a little too much.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Huh.
- 6:25Speaker 1: Like, one kid gets hurt, and some guy's in the
- 6:27Speaker 1: background like, you ain't hurt. Get up.
- 6:30Speaker 9: Jeez.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And I'm like, the kid can't move.
- 6:32Speaker 8: Right.
- 6:32Speaker 3: And it wasn't his kid?
- 6:33Speaker 1: No. Oh, man. It was the opposite team. Wow. Screaming
- 6:38Speaker 1: at me. I was like, oh, man.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yikes.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And that guy was me.
- 6:42Speaker 8: No, I'm just kidding.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm kidding.
- 6:44Speaker 8: No.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I'm totally kidding.
- 6:47Speaker 8: The new Mix 102.9.
- 6:48Speaker 5: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Kid in the Morning. Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 6:54Speaker 1: All right, Candice Lopez, it's Friday. What is going on?
- 6:57Speaker 7: Yeah, well, guys, electric air taxis, it made their first
- 7:00Speaker 7: launch in Fort Worth yesterday. So this is part of
- 7:03Speaker 7: a multi-year testing program TxDOT is running to prepare for the.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Future where we just live like the Jetsons.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Yep.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I know you saw these online.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Oh, I was so excited when I saw it. I've
- 7:12Speaker 1: been waiting for this day.
- 7:13Speaker 8: You were?
- 7:14Speaker 1: Yeah, the drones, the drone taxis, the transport people. It's here.
- 7:17Speaker 7: So if you haven't seen what these look like, it's
- 7:19Speaker 7: basically a cross between a helicopter and a drone.
- 7:22Speaker 3: They take off vertically.
- 7:24Speaker 7: These initial flights won't have passengers in them. They're just
- 7:27Speaker 7: collecting data and trying to get the routes assorted.
- 7:30Speaker 3: But this pilot program will happen in phases over the.
- 7:33Speaker 7: Next couple of years with one of the companies actually
- 7:35Speaker 7: looking to be Team USA's air taxi company. For the
- 7:38Speaker 7: 2028 Olympics in L.A. Weird, though, that we were just,
- 7:43Speaker 7: we're going to take our team up in these little guys.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Well, I think it's awesome.
- 7:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I mean, it's going to be, everything sounds crazy at first. Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And then you're like, well, this is just normal life.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's going to be, one day, that's going to be
- 7:54Speaker 1: the normal way people get around.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I believe it.
- 7:57Speaker 7: After seeing them, I think they carry, what, four passengers?
- 8:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe up to four. Sometimes more. It depends on
- 8:03Speaker 1: the weight, you know? But you can't even hear them.
- 8:05Speaker 3: You can't?
- 8:06Speaker 1: No, you can barely hear them. They're super quiet. I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 1: they look so cool. I would totally ride in one.
- 8:11Speaker 1: You would? Not me.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I don't think I'm ready for all that.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Lou and I are actually signed up to do a
- 8:16Speaker 1: test flight.
- 8:17Speaker 3: First passengers?
- 8:18Speaker 1: We're going to be the first ones flying over 820.
- 8:20Speaker 10: Wow.
- 8:20Speaker 1: 820. It takes you, yeah, it can take you from
- 8:24Speaker 1: Fort Worth to Dallas in like 10 minutes. Wow. Right
- 8:27Speaker 1: over traffic.
- 8:29Speaker 3: That is so interesting.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:31Speaker 7: I mean, it's like in the airport, it's like we're
- 8:32Speaker 7: the Jetsons when we get on those little moving sidewalk things.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I can't believe you wouldn't want one. No. The way
- 8:38Speaker 1: you drive.
- 8:40Speaker 7: I mean, if it'd take me from home to work
- 8:41Speaker 7: every day, what's that going to cost me?
- 8:43Speaker 3: Because I might do that.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Five minutes.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Five minutes?
- 8:45Speaker 1: It would get you here so quick. Just land on
- 8:48Speaker 1: the roof, pop off.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Let me let them test for a couple more years.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll send poo up there a couple times.
- 8:54Speaker 7: Guys, we got some high school football to talk about tonight.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Big games in the Metroplex. Number two, Frisco. Lone Star
- 9:02Speaker 3: Rangers at Cedar Hill Longhorns. This is Cedar Hill's first
- 9:05Speaker 3: year in 5A, so that's going to be a big matchup.
- 9:07Speaker 1: That is a big game.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Who are you taking, Rangers or Longhorns?
- 9:10Speaker 1: You know, I think I'm going to go with the Rangers. Okay.
- 9:13Speaker 1: They're good. They're really good. By the way, my picks
- 9:15Speaker 1: last week. Pretty spot on.
- 9:17Speaker 3: I was wondering about that.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Yeah, keep track, because I'm telling you right now, I
- 9:20Speaker 1: think I'm batting 100%.
- 9:21Speaker 7: Okay.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I picked North Crowley last week. Not many people did. Yeah,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you did. Poo went against me.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I won.
- 9:26Speaker 1: Go ahead, Candace.
- 9:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 9:27Speaker 7: Who are you taking between Allen Eagles and Southlake Carroll Dragons?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Oh, that's a big one.
- 9:33Speaker 8: That is.
- 9:33Speaker 1: I know who I'm going to pick. I'm three. We'll
- 9:35Speaker 1: say it, Poo. I'm picking three, two, one.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Allen.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yep.
- 9:39Speaker 1: We all picked the Eagles on that one.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Yeah, y'all said Allen. I said Eagles.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Okay, well, same thing.
- 9:44Speaker 3: I say Allen, you say Eagles.
- 9:48Speaker 1: One more, guys.
- 9:48Speaker 7: Pick the winner between Louisville, the Fighting Farmers, and then
- 9:51Speaker 7: Denton Ryan Raiders.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Who you got there? Oh, man, that's going to be. Okay,
- 9:55Speaker 1: now this one I don't know too much about these teams,
- 9:57Speaker 1: so I'm going to have to take it to the mascot.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So you have a Fighting Farmer. Old school. Louisville Fighting Farmer.
- 10:03Speaker 3: And a Ryan Raider.
- 10:04Speaker 1: And a Ryan Raider. Yeah.
- 10:06Speaker 3: That's tough.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I'm going with the Farmer. Are you?
- 10:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Okay. I don't even know what a Raider has.
- 10:12Speaker 3: That's a good point. I mean, they got some stuff.
- 10:13Speaker 1: A farmer has tractors. You ain't lying. A farmer's going
- 10:16Speaker 1: to say, I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You can't mess with nobody who says that.
- 10:21Speaker 3: We'll see. Yeah, good luck, Louisville.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I'm going to go with Louisville Fighting Farmers. Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I just think about that water tower that used to
- 10:27Speaker 1: be up on 35.
- 10:28Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 1: With all their state championships. Oh, yeah. It's at home
- 10:31Speaker 1: of the Fighting Farmers, and then they tore it down. Oh, man.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But it made me sad. Yeah. I don't know why.
- 10:38Speaker 3: Right, you didn't go there at all.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I didn't even go there.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Real quick, guys, this new survey says 30% of Americans
- 10:44Speaker 7: admit they've accepted a date.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Just for a free meal or free drinks. This is
- 10:49Speaker 3: happening so much, there's even a term for it now.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's called a foodie call.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Oh, instead of the other one.
- 10:56Speaker 3: The other call.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Yeah, the survey says women are a bit more likely
- 10:59Speaker 7: to pull a foodie call.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Yes, they are.
- 11:02Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Did I say that out loud? The girls I date, yes,
- 11:06Speaker 1: they are.
- 11:06Speaker 3: I mean, I guess if the guys are paying for
- 11:08Speaker 3: the meal, it makes sense.
- 11:09Speaker 1: First of all, Pooh, you act like you take these
- 11:11Speaker 1: girls to the most fancy restaurants. Not the most fancy.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Nobody's sitting out here going, I can't wait for Pooh
- 11:17Speaker 1: to take me to Chili's. Hey, don't hate. That two
- 11:19Speaker 1: for 20 go hard. I know, but I'm saying.
- 11:21Speaker 7: I mean, didn't that one survey say Chick-fil-A is the
- 11:24Speaker 7: number one spot for a first date?
- 11:25Speaker 1: That survey's crazy. You take it. Take a girl around
- 11:28Speaker 1: here to a Chick-fil-A for a first date. Yeah, I'm
- 11:30Speaker 1: not taking them to Chick-fil-A. See if you get a
- 11:31Speaker 1: call back. But Applebee's? Shoot. Oh, come on.
- 11:35Speaker 7: Okay.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Who takes people to places where there's sticky menus?
- 11:41Speaker 3: Solid burn. That would be IHOP or Applebee's.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Not saying it's not good.
- 11:47Speaker 3: Waffle House.
- 11:48Speaker 1: But I'm just saying, he's acting like, these girls use
- 11:50Speaker 1: me for all these places I take them. Thank you, man.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 11:54Speaker 3: All right, I got to go. I'm Candace Lopez. Those
- 11:56Speaker 3: are your Texas Top Stories on Mix 102.9. Thank you, Candace.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Because I don't think a lot of women do this.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I think that some women do.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I think some women do, sure. Yeah. But who acts
- 12:06Speaker 1: like every girl uses guys to get free food?
- 12:09Speaker 8: Right.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Come on. Like, women can't afford their own food. Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 3: It's a recession indicator for sure.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah. Hit up Pooh. If you want to go to
- 12:16Speaker 1: somewhere with a sticky floor, sticky menus, add Pooh on
- 12:20Speaker 1: the radio.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Bathroom's out of order.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Exactly, Candace. Well, I was all excited about the rain yesterday, Candace,
- 12:28Speaker 1: and then it sprinkled, like, for two seconds, and that
- 12:30Speaker 1: was it. Today they're saying 100 and sunny, so just
- 12:33Speaker 1: a heads up. It's Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 12:36Speaker 1: Producer Pooh. We have a Dirty Little Secret coming up
- 12:38Speaker 1: at 7.30. I got so hyped when it started getting
- 12:41Speaker 1: stormy looking out.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, it was windy. All the trees were blowing.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Yeah, stuff started throwing. My floaties were on in my pool.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, yes, it's about to happen. Yep. Then nothing.
- 12:51Speaker 8: Nothing.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Oh, sucks. Okay. All right, let's do it. First caller
- 12:54Speaker 1: of the day right now. I got a four-packet ticket
- 12:55Speaker 1: to the Four Worst Stock Show and Rodeo. Hello, it's Mix.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Who's this? No way.
- 13:00Speaker 2: It's sexy.
- 13:01Speaker 1: What's up? Guess what? You're color number one. Congratulations. There
- 13:06Speaker 1: you go. You got some tickets.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:08Speaker 1: What are you doing right now? Driving to work. What
- 13:12Speaker 1: do you do? Can we guess what you do?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Sure, you're not going to guess.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Okay, you don't know that. We're pretty good at this. Candace,
- 13:19Speaker 1: what do you think?
- 13:20Speaker 3: You are a court reporter.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Oh, good one. Okay. Pooh, you think she is what?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Something in the medical field. I'm going to just say nurse. Oh,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I was going to say a pharmaceutical sales rep. Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 8: Candace is the closest.
- 13:36Speaker 1: I do work for the court system.
- 13:39Speaker 8: Oh, wow.
- 13:40Speaker 1: What do you do for them? Are you a probation officer? Exactly, 100%.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Look at you.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Oh, man. She got that P.O. voice. Yeah, you got
- 13:52Speaker 1: that come in, I need to see you voice. You
- 13:57Speaker 1: got that pee in this cup voice.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:02Speaker 1: Hey, we love you, though. Hey, thank you so much
- 14:04Speaker 1: for listening. We appreciate you.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 14:08Speaker 4: I've never been to the Life Talk show, so I'm excited.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Oh, you're going to have a blast. It's going to
- 14:12Speaker 1: be so much fun.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Stay right there. Hold on. We appreciate you listening.
- 14:17Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Oh, CP, I've never been on probation.
- 14:20Speaker 3: No, same.
- 14:21Speaker 1: Candace, you haven't either. Who has? Yeah. They don't mess around. No,
- 14:25Speaker 1: they don't. They are not nice. Yeah, no. My sister
- 14:28Speaker 1: is a federal agent. She has to check on some
- 14:31Speaker 1: people sometimes and, like, you know, Big time. Criminals.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 14:35Speaker 1: And she does not mess around. She can get mean.
- 14:37Speaker 3: I believe it.
- 14:38Speaker 1: She can get real mean. All right. Real or fake news.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Are you ready, Candace?
- 14:43Speaker 5: Yes.
- 14:43Speaker 1: All right. Let's get to it. I say that in
- 14:45Speaker 1: a nice way, by the way, in case she's listening.
- 14:47Speaker 3: For sure.
- 14:48Speaker 1: A stern way. Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Professional. Professional way.
- 14:51Speaker 3: She handles business.
- 14:52Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 14:53Speaker 1: And it's tough, too, because you can't lie to her.
- 14:54Speaker 1: She's like trained to catch people lying.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You know?
- 14:57Speaker 3: Why would you lie to her?
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't know. Sometimes it's fun. See if she can
- 15:01Speaker 1: catch you.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Okay, got it.
- 15:03Speaker 1: But she's like, so what really happened, Billy?
- 15:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And I'm like, wait, what do you mean? Well, she's like,
- 15:09Speaker 1: you're not telling me the truth. Why are you looking
- 15:12Speaker 1: to the left? The full truth.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:13Speaker 1: She's like, I'm like, how do you know? She's like, well,
- 15:15Speaker 1: you crossed your leg and it's not pointing to me.
- 15:18Speaker 1: So that means you're closing your barriers off to me
- 15:22Speaker 1: because you're scared that, and I'm like. Wow, okay, I'm lying. No,
- 15:26Speaker 1: stop analyzing me. I'm going to give you three stories.
- 15:29Speaker 1: You've got to tell me which one is the fake story.
- 15:32Speaker 3: Okay.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Which one is fake? Headline number one. A man showed
- 15:38Speaker 1: his goods at HomeGoods.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Oh, my God. You just crossed your legs.
- 15:47Speaker 1: He's probably going to see her, the probation officer, our girl.
- 15:51Speaker 1: A man showed his goods at HomeGoods. Headline number one.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Headline number two. Blind man sentenced for driving 150 miles
- 15:58Speaker 1: while drunk.
- 16:00Speaker 3: What?
- 16:00Speaker 1: Wait, what? Blind man sentenced for driving 150 miles while drunk.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Headline number three. Woman in Seattle goes viral because she
- 16:12Speaker 1: held a candlelight vigil for her dead relationship. Woman in
- 16:18Speaker 1: Seattle goes viral because she held a candlelight vigil... For
- 16:22Speaker 1: her dead relationship. Okay. Three headlines there. Wow. I mean,
- 16:26Speaker 1: this is going to be hard today. Yeah, super hard.
- 16:28Speaker 1: You got to tell me which one of those headlines
- 16:30Speaker 1: are fake because they all sound like they should be fake.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Yeah, these are ridiculous.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Candace, you want to go first or you want to
- 16:35Speaker 1: pass it to your friend LaPoopoo?
- 16:36Speaker 7: No, I want to go first today. Lock me in
- 16:38Speaker 7: for that first story, the home goods story.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Oh.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Are you sure?
- 16:41Speaker 3: Yep, lock it in.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Lock it in.
- 16:43Speaker 3: Feeling good about this today. All right.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Producer Pooh, which one is the fake story?
- 16:47Speaker 6: Lock me in for that second story, the blind man
- 16:50Speaker 6: driving drunk.
- 16:51Speaker 1: There ain't no way. Okay. You sure? Yeah, lock me in.
- 16:55Speaker 1: You want to lock that in? Let's lock it in.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You are locked in. And going in to the weekend
- 17:00Speaker 1: with a win is.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Me.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I'm excited. I like winning every once in a while.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Man, it's been a while.
- 17:14Speaker 1: You both missed. I know. You both missed the fake story.
- 17:16Speaker 1: The fake story is a woman in Seattle goes viral
- 17:18Speaker 1: because she held a candlelight vigil for her dead relationship.
- 17:22Speaker 1: That just sounds.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I could see that happening on TikTok.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure it probably has happened, but not in
- 17:28Speaker 1: the headlines. So let's go to the real stories. The
- 17:30Speaker 1: real stories. Blind man sentenced for driving 150 miles while drunk. What?
- 17:35Speaker 1: This actually happened. 50-year-old... Anthony Hall took his partner's car
- 17:40Speaker 1: without permission after a couple had shared four bottles of wine.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Oh.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Good Lord. Then he drove 150 miles. Police stopped him,
- 17:48Speaker 1: I guess because they saw his car weaving around.
- 17:52Speaker 3: You think?
- 17:53Speaker 1: All over the place. Between the lanes, onto the shoulder,
- 17:57Speaker 1: off the road. Paul, who has been blind for about
- 18:00Speaker 1: two years, said he's never had a driver's license. Told
- 18:04Speaker 1: officers he could still see some light. And that he
- 18:08Speaker 1: just followed taillights of large trucks to guide himself around. Oh, gosh.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So he pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, drunk driving, taking
- 18:16Speaker 1: a car without consent, and driving without a license or insurance. So, well,
- 18:21Speaker 1: you can't take away a license he never had. True.
- 18:24Speaker 1: So either way, thank God everybody's okay. That's what really matters.
- 18:27Speaker 3: What in the world?
- 18:28Speaker 1: That's crazy. You see some of these stories sometimes, and
- 18:30Speaker 1: you're like, did he do a bad thing? Yes. kind
- 18:33Speaker 1: of impressive? A little bit. Also, yes. 150 miles?
- 18:37Speaker 3: That's insane.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Blind, all I could see is taillights?
- 18:40Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Oh, man. But my grandma, I had a great grandma
- 18:44Speaker 1: who was awful. She couldn't see anything, and she drove.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Really?
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yeah, Grandma Joyce. And I would think to myself, Grandma,
- 18:50Speaker 1: how are you, you can't even, like, see? How do
- 18:52Speaker 1: you drive?
- 18:53Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't see in your purse.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Yeah, no, she couldn't.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:56Speaker 1: She literally would be like, if you want some candy, grab...
- 18:58Speaker 1: Grab grandma's purse and get in there because I can't see.
- 19:01Speaker 1: And then I think, even as a kid, well, then
- 19:03Speaker 1: how are you driving?
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:04Speaker 1: But then I'd see her drive, and she'd drive up
- 19:06Speaker 1: on the curb for at least three blocks. Here comes
- 19:09Speaker 1: Grandma Joyce on the curb. I'd be in the car
- 19:13Speaker 1: with her, hitting every rumble strip. Yeah. Oh, sorry. I
- 19:19Speaker 1: swear that's how she knew she was going off the road.
- 19:21Speaker 3: For sure.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Rest in peace, Grandma Joyce. Oh, man. She's probably looking
- 19:26Speaker 1: down on us right now. Or up. I don't know
- 19:28Speaker 1: where she went. Either way. A man shows his goods
- 19:34Speaker 1: at HomeGoods.
- 19:36Speaker 8: What?
- 19:38Speaker 1: This is a real story. Guess where it happened. I'm
- 19:41Speaker 1: going to give you one guess. Florida. It did. A
- 19:45Speaker 1: 43-year-old man arrested at a HomeGoods. I don't know what's
- 19:48Speaker 1: going on with these guys who decide to get naked.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:51Speaker 1: Because there's no reason behind it.
- 19:53Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 19:54Speaker 1: You know, you're at HomeGoods.
- 19:55Speaker 3: He felt like he was at home.
- 19:56Speaker 7: That store makes you feel like you're in your home.
- 20:00Speaker 1: And guess what his name was?
- 20:01Speaker 3: What?
- 20:02Speaker 1: Billy. You lied. Billy Thomas. Oh, Billy Thomas. Billy Thomas
- 20:07Speaker 1: was arrested Monday after he stripped down completely naked inside
- 20:11Speaker 1: a HomeGoods store and exposed himself to a shopper. looked
- 20:16Speaker 1: at her in his full-blown birthday suit and said, sorry,
- 20:19Speaker 1: I have to do this. Why?
- 20:23Speaker 3: Why do you have to do this?
- 20:25Speaker 1: I don't know. No explanation. She obviously was like, what the?
- 20:28Speaker 1: And ran to get help.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Well, get him a towel.
- 20:31Speaker 1: No, they weren't in the towel aisle. Yeah, I don't
- 20:34Speaker 1: even know what aisle they were in, but there was
- 20:36Speaker 1: nothing to cover up with. And she left. She's not
- 20:37Speaker 1: going to stick around to figure it out.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Framed art, something?
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yeah, a picture, something. Sorry, I have to do this.
- 20:42Speaker 3: Here, sir, hold this art.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Yeah, he told officers. Here's a candle. He told officers
- 20:48Speaker 1: he was hot.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Okay. He said he was hot.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Okay, got it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And then his clothes... Oh, see, this guy needs help.
- 20:54Speaker 2: What?
- 20:55Speaker 1: And he said, I'm sorry, but I was hot and
- 20:57Speaker 1: my clothes started smoking.
- 20:59Speaker 4: What?
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah, he said, I was riding my bike here and
- 21:03Speaker 1: my clothes started smoking. Yeah. So I realized I had
- 21:06Speaker 1: to get them off.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:09Speaker 1: So they got him out of the store, put some
- 21:10Speaker 1: clothes on him or whatever. And then they're like, all right,
- 21:12Speaker 1: where's your bike? And they couldn't find his bike. Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 3: There was no bike.
- 21:15Speaker 1: There was no bike. There was no clothes. The bike
- 21:19Speaker 1: didn't burn up. I don't know. And just the thought
- 21:22Speaker 1: of riding a bike naked is awful. That's the worst.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I hate being naked. I hate it. If I could,
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'd shower with a bathing suit on. And I guess
- 21:35Speaker 1: I could.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Yeah, you could.
- 21:36Speaker 1: But it's just too much laundry to do.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Right, yeah.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I can't clean, you know, the whole thing. But I
- 21:41Speaker 1: just hate it. So the fact that this guy possibly
- 21:44Speaker 1: rode his bike naked.
- 21:46Speaker 8: Right.
- 21:46Speaker 1: He was on something. Yeah, he was high on life
- 21:49Speaker 1: at Home Goods. Home Goods gets me excited, too. Oh,
- 21:51Speaker 1: for sure.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Been the best mood ever.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yeah, that place at home gets me really excited. Oh,
- 21:56Speaker 1: I love at home.
- 21:56Speaker 3: Yeah, good fall day at home.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Yes.
- 21:58Speaker 1: But I'm not going to get naked there.
- 21:59Speaker 8: No.
- 21:59Speaker 1: No. I don't think so.
- 22:02Speaker 4: No.
- 22:02Speaker 1: No. They're not. I do get excited when they put
- 22:06Speaker 1: out the Christmas decorations. It's Mix 102.9. Bill of the Kid,
- 22:11Speaker 1: Candace Lopez is here. Producer Poo is here. And I
- 22:15Speaker 1: know we always joke around and we're goofy and we're silly.
- 22:18Speaker 1: And I love that. And it's Friday. And I don't
- 22:20Speaker 1: want to bring the room down, but it's also 9-11.
- 22:22Speaker 1: And I think it's very important to mention those that
- 22:25Speaker 1: we lost and the people who were affected that day.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Because it's shocking to me that it's been 25 years.
- 22:30Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And I was online yesterday, and I see younger people,
- 22:36Speaker 1: and I guess, gosh, it's hard to believe that we're
- 22:38Speaker 1: at that age where, you know, we were young when
- 22:42Speaker 1: that happened. Yeah. Like, really, I'm not saying we're old now,
- 22:45Speaker 1: Candice and I.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Right.
- 22:48Speaker 1: But, I mean, it's just crazy to think.
- 22:50Speaker 3: No, for sure. 25 years?
- 22:51Speaker 1: When it happened, you know, everybody knows exactly where they were,
- 22:54Speaker 1: what they were doing, you know, how they felt. If
- 22:57Speaker 1: you're our age, I think it affected you way differently.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Then it affected our kids.
- 23:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:03Speaker 1: And my son, who's 15, was asking me not too
- 23:05Speaker 1: long ago about it. And I was explaining to him
- 23:07Speaker 1: where I was and how it felt. But I see
- 23:10Speaker 1: some people online who are younger that kind of make
- 23:12Speaker 1: jokes about it. Really?
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 1: And it makes me sick to my stomach because I'm like,
- 23:17Speaker 1: I don't think you really understand the magnitude of how
- 23:19Speaker 1: serious it was and how awful it was. And that
- 23:22Speaker 1: day was just felt like it was never going to end. Right. And,
- 23:27Speaker 1: you know, so now obviously it's Patriot Day and it's
- 23:29Speaker 1: National Day of Remembrance. And I think it's important to
- 23:32Speaker 1: take some time and just to yourself or whatever or however,
- 23:36Speaker 1: just remember those who lost their lives, the first responders
- 23:39Speaker 1: who were so brave, who ran in those buildings. And that's,
- 23:42Speaker 1: I think, the thing that sticks out to me. Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Look for the helpers. I mean, I just remember that
- 23:47Speaker 1: day and remember where I was getting up to go
- 23:50Speaker 1: to the airport. And obviously the flight didn't happen that
- 23:52Speaker 1: I was going to be on. And I went back.
- 23:55Speaker 1: to my house and watch this go down. And I
- 23:57Speaker 1: remember seeing the look on the first responders faces and
- 24:01Speaker 1: you didn't understand what was happening then really fully. But
- 24:04Speaker 1: when you look back now and you look back at
- 24:06Speaker 1: some of the footage, I just remember going, I can't
- 24:11Speaker 1: believe they're running towards these buildings. They're running towards this mess.
- 24:16Speaker 1: They're running towards this tragedy with I mean, whether they
- 24:20Speaker 1: were scared or not, they did it.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:22Speaker 1: That was just one of the many things that I just.
- 24:24Speaker 7: That was the job they signed up for and completed
- 24:27Speaker 7: the assignment.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I mean, with honor.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Yeah. And just, I remember one thing that I... There's
- 24:32Speaker 1: so many visuals that, you know, you just almost like
- 24:35Speaker 1: will never forget. Totally. And some of them are really
- 24:38Speaker 1: bad that I don't even want to talk about. And
- 24:40Speaker 1: then some of them are just like thinking about the
- 24:42Speaker 1: rescue dogs. I'm a big dog lover and I always
- 24:44Speaker 1: wanted to be a canine handler. And I remember thinking
- 24:47Speaker 1: to myself... wow, these dogs are trying to find people,
- 24:51Speaker 1: you know, in the mess, in the rubble. And these
- 24:54Speaker 1: dogs were getting so defeated because they couldn't. And now
- 25:00Speaker 1: I look back and I read a story to where
- 25:02Speaker 1: these dogs were getting so depressed that they couldn't find
- 25:05Speaker 1: people because it was so hard that they were having
- 25:08Speaker 1: first responders hide so they could find people and give
- 25:12Speaker 1: them hope. It's just one of the many things that happened.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:16Speaker 1: In that time. So they could get excited again. So
- 25:18Speaker 1: they would work harder.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Right. Motivated.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:21Speaker 1: It's just so many things that happen. I don't know
- 25:23Speaker 1: where you were, Candace. Where were you? Yeah.
- 25:24Speaker 3: I was actually in my radio production class at UTA.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:28Speaker 3: We were presenting some, you know, production assignment.
- 25:31Speaker 7: We had to pretend Britney Spears was coming to Campus Records.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And that was what we were doing in the middle
- 25:36Speaker 3: of that. And I remember we all just went from
- 25:38Speaker 3: that floor down to the lobby floor and to turn
- 25:41Speaker 3: on the TV and watch, watch live, which, you know, those,
- 25:45Speaker 3: those memories are ingrained.
- 25:47Speaker 1: They are forever, but they're not for a lot of,
- 25:49Speaker 1: not for a lot of younger people. And I think
- 25:52Speaker 1: they sometimes look at it as like a part of
- 25:54Speaker 1: history that they'll just never really understand.
- 25:56Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 25:56Speaker 1: You know, like, you know, like we look back at like,
- 25:59Speaker 1: let's say Pearl Harbor. Yeah. We know it was tragic,
- 26:01Speaker 1: but it didn't feel real. It doesn't feel real to
- 26:03Speaker 1: us because, you know, I mean, we, we weren't there. Yeah.
- 26:07Speaker 1: It was tragic and it's awful. And now that we're older,
- 26:09Speaker 1: we realize, but when you're younger, you're like, Oh, yeah.
- 26:11Speaker 1: Pearl Harbor.
- 26:12Speaker 5: Right.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean, that's 9-11. We were there.
- 26:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 26:16Speaker 1: We remember how it felt. We remember. And I also
- 26:19Speaker 1: remember feeling this. And this is what kind of gives
- 26:21Speaker 1: me hope sometimes is I remember feeling after 9-11 that
- 26:25Speaker 1: the country had never felt more together.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Never felt more united. Yeah. And as tragic as that was,
- 26:33Speaker 1: I wish we could have that feeling without a tragedy.
- 26:38Speaker 3: A hundred percent.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Without the devastation, without an attack, I wish we could
- 26:43Speaker 1: go back and remember how we felt like we were
- 26:46Speaker 1: one country.
- 26:47Speaker 3: We were united.
- 26:48Speaker 1: We were united. We all felt the same way. We
- 26:51Speaker 1: were all mad. We were all angry. We all felt
- 26:54Speaker 1: a pride in our country. We all felt like we
- 26:57Speaker 1: can't let this ever happen again.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:59Speaker 1: We didn't have 13 different agendas. We didn't have all
- 27:02Speaker 1: this stuff that we were worried about that doesn't matter.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:06Speaker 1: We were... We were the United States of America, and
- 27:09Speaker 1: we were mad.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And it breaks my heart that we can't get there
- 27:13Speaker 1: again without something happening.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, we wanted to be together.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Yeah. So, you know, today's 9-11. It's been 25 years.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Take a minute to remember those affected.
- 27:22Speaker 3: 102.9 the new mix.
- 27:26Speaker 5: 102.9 it's texas top stories on the 10s with billy
- 27:30Speaker 5: the kid in the.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Morning only on the new mix 102.9 you are.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Gonna love today's dirty little secret i know a little
- 27:36Speaker 1: bit about it oh it made me laugh but it's
- 27:39Speaker 1: you talk about embarrassing Okay. Just wait till we get
- 27:42Speaker 1: this girl on the phone. 7.30, Dirty Little Secret. Candace Lopez,
- 27:45Speaker 1: what is going on?
- 27:45Speaker 3: Well, guys, we broke a record here in the U.S.
- 27:47Speaker 3: for the hottest summer ever.
- 27:50Speaker 7: Meteorological summer is June through August. I think we're having
- 27:53Speaker 7: also the hottest September ever here in the Metroplex. More
- 27:58Speaker 7: chances to break records over the next five days.
- 28:00Speaker 3: So still hotter than normal this weekend.
- 28:02Speaker 7: We do have some rain chances today, but less of
- 28:04Speaker 7: a chance than yesterday.
- 28:06Speaker 3: So, yeah, don't get your hopes up.
- 28:08Speaker 1: We're talking about what? We already broke the record for
- 28:09Speaker 1: triple digit days in September.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 28:11Speaker 1: And now we might get in the double digits. I mean,
- 28:14Speaker 1: because double digit, triple.
- 28:16Speaker 3: Digit days this month. It's only the 11th.
- 28:19Speaker 1: Oh, man, I'm over it.
- 28:21Speaker 3: I'm so over it.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I want 70s. I want football weather.
- 28:25Speaker 3: Fair weather.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I want fair weather.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, crisp morning.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I can't eat 13 corny dogs in 100-degree heat. No,
- 28:31Speaker 1: I can't. I can, but it's going to be rough.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Right, exactly.
- 28:35Speaker 7: Well, guys, the Cowboys will kick off their NFL season.
- 28:38Speaker 7: Sunday night in New York against the Giants. The game
- 28:41Speaker 7: starts at 7.20, so that'll get you in the fall
- 28:44Speaker 7: mood a little bit.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I was just on the New York Times playoff simulator.
- 28:48Speaker 3: You can pick and choose games and do this whole thing.
- 28:51Speaker 7: Right now, we've got a 49% chance to make the playoffs.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Obviously, no one's played yet. Well, the Cowboys haven't played.
- 28:57Speaker 3: So we'll keep hope alive there.
- 28:59Speaker 7: And there's also a survey showing the most optimistic NFL
- 29:02Speaker 7: fan bases, and we weren't even in the top five.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Well, because we're a little damaged. over the years. We've
- 29:08Speaker 1: had a tough run. We're the most hated franchise. There
- 29:12Speaker 1: you are. You know what? Whatever.
- 29:14Speaker 3: People just love to hate us.
- 29:16Speaker 1: People love to hate the Cowboys, but I don't care
- 29:19Speaker 1: what you say. That's why we're also the most successful
- 29:21Speaker 1: franchise when it comes to Oh.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Yeah, most valuable for sure.
- 29:25Speaker 1: The most valuable. So you can say whatever you want,
- 29:27Speaker 1: but there's a reason why there's people overseas who love
- 29:30Speaker 1: the Cowboys.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 29:32Speaker 1: You go to London, people love the Cowboys. We love
- 29:34Speaker 1: the Cowboys. Yeah. And it's our year.
- 29:36Speaker 7: The Chiefs, by the way, are most optimistic NFL fan
- 29:38Speaker 7: base this season.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 29:40Speaker 1: Yeah. We are.
- 29:41Speaker 3: It is our year, guys.
- 29:42Speaker 7: FYI, if you're not into football Sunday night, CBS has
- 29:46Speaker 7: a Best of the VMAs Iconic Vanguard Performances special. It's
- 29:51Speaker 7: hosted by Donnie Wahlberg and Vanessa Lachey.
- 29:54Speaker 3: And then the next weekend they have another one.
- 29:56Speaker 7: So they're just getting ready for the VMAs September 27th,
- 29:59Speaker 7: but they're doing an unforgettable moments one as well. So
- 30:02Speaker 7: if you're not into football, you could think back on
- 30:04Speaker 7: some of the best VMAs.
- 30:05Speaker 3: Of all time.
- 30:06Speaker 1: I almost forgot about the VMAs.
- 30:07Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 30:08Speaker 7: Guys, this sounds like fake news, but Brock's is releasing
- 30:12Speaker 7: a candy corn perfume.
- 30:13Speaker 3: So it's going viral.
- 30:17Speaker 7: It's called Ode to Candy Corn, selling for $ 22 at candycornseason.com.
- 30:23Speaker 7: This first batch will be released September 22nd, and then
- 30:26Speaker 7: they're going to do another drop October 1st. So this
- 30:30Speaker 7: is for a 1.7-ounce bottle. They say it swirls together
- 30:33Speaker 7: notes of creamy.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Vanilla, spun sugar and honey.
- 30:37Speaker 7: To capture the coziness of fall in every spray.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I will say that candy corn smells better than it tastes. Yeah.
- 30:44Speaker 1: It does. If you sniff some candy corn, you're like,
- 30:46Speaker 1: that doesn't smell that bad.
- 30:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Right. And then you eat it and you're just like, ugh.
- 30:50Speaker 1: You bite into it. I don't know. Some people love
- 30:52Speaker 1: candy corn.
- 30:53Speaker 3: They do. I only eat it with peanuts. You have
- 30:55Speaker 3: to do it at the same time, though.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Oh, here she goes. Oh, yeah. This is your thing.
- 30:57Speaker 3: I try to tell you this every year.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Every year. And you guys hate on it. It tastes
- 31:01Speaker 1: like a payday. No, it don't.
- 31:02Speaker 3: It tastes just like a payday.
- 31:03Speaker 1: No, it don't. Every year, here comes Candice Lopez and
- 31:06Speaker 1: her candy corn and nuts.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I don't buy.
- 31:09Speaker 7: Candy corn, but if somebody offers me some, and I
- 31:11Speaker 7: have peanuts, if you put it together, it's pretty good.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Okay. Well, some people actually put candy corn. I'm not
- 31:17Speaker 1: even kidding you. This is like, must be a mesquite thing. Oh, yeah.
- 31:21Speaker 1: They put candy corn peanuts in Coke and then drink
- 31:24Speaker 1: it and eat.
- 31:25Speaker 8: Oh.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Let's try that this year.
- 31:27Speaker 1: You've seen peanuts in Coke before.
- 31:29Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Well, they put candy corn in there, too, and then
- 31:31Speaker 1: they just, it's a, yeah.
- 31:33Speaker 3: It's probably great. What's bad about that?
- 31:36Speaker 1: The candy corn.
- 31:37Speaker 3: From a flavor perspective, yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 7: But everything hides the candy corn.
- 31:40Speaker 3: The candy corn just adds like a little sugary vibe.
- 31:42Speaker 1: But there's so much, okay. Just better candy.
- 31:46Speaker 3: Candy corn season's coming. Just get ready.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I'm ready to throw it all away. If I see it,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I throw it away. All right.
- 31:52Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 31:54Speaker 8: The new Mix 102.9.
- 31:57Speaker 1: We got Dirty Little Secret coming up next on Mix 102.9.
- 31:59Speaker 1: Getting ready for the banger. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez,
- 32:03Speaker 1: producer Pooh. Don't forget we got free gas at 830.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Start practicing now, though, because you got to say Mix 102.9.
- 32:09Speaker 1: Great Gremlin gas gift card giveaway. Five times fast without
- 32:13Speaker 1: messing up. If you say it five times in a
- 32:15Speaker 1: row without messing up, the jackpot right now is up
- 32:17Speaker 1: to $ 300. Nice. Gives some money, right? Candice could say it.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Pooh could. No. It's tough.
- 32:24Speaker 4: It is.
- 32:25Speaker 1: It's going to be tough. Okay, so we got that
- 32:27Speaker 1: coming up at 830. Dirty Little Secret next. Before we
- 32:29Speaker 1: do the banger, I got to say, well, the girl
- 32:31Speaker 1: who picked out the banger, Tammy, she's having a bachelorette
- 32:34Speaker 1: party this weekend. Shout out to Tammy.
- 32:36Speaker 8: Nice.
- 32:37Speaker 1: She's from Bedford. But I want to know something because
- 32:39Speaker 1: it made me think about it when she mentioned her
- 32:41Speaker 1: bachelorette party because I'm seeing this more and more. Tacky
- 32:45Speaker 1: or not tacky when you see girls put their Venmo
- 32:48Speaker 1: on their cars for their bachelorette parties? Yeah, it's tacky. Really?
- 32:54Speaker 3: I think for young women, it's fun.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I think it's kind of fun, too. It doesn't really
- 32:58Speaker 1: bother me. They're like, buy me a drink. They'll put
- 32:59Speaker 1: their Venmo on their car, written on their car window.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 33:03Speaker 1: But here's the question. If you think it's fun, Candace,
- 33:06Speaker 1: you think it's fun, Poo, you think it's tacky. Yeah.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Do they really get money?
- 33:09Speaker 3: I'm sure they do.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Do you really? For sure. If you've done this, I
- 33:12Speaker 1: want to know, have you really gotten any cash from this?
- 33:15Speaker 1: Like a lot. Do people send you money? I'm just curious.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Let me know. Call or at Billy on the radio
- 33:20Speaker 1: on Instagram. And how much? Right. Because I've never sent
- 33:24Speaker 1: anyone money. When I see it, I'm like, oh, that's funny,
- 33:26Speaker 1: but I've never sent them money.
- 33:27Speaker 7: Yeah, I haven't either because I just know too many
- 33:29Speaker 7: people getting married or doing things that I should.
- 33:31Speaker 3: Send them money for first besides this random car that's
- 33:34Speaker 3: driving by. But yeah, people are in the mood, happy,
- 33:37Speaker 3: out and about. Sure, scan the thing, send a couple
- 33:39Speaker 3: bucks here and there.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Have you ever had a friend do it or no?
- 33:42Speaker 7: No, but I have a friend who put her Bitcoin
- 33:44Speaker 7: wallet in her profile and people just send her Bitcoin.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Just because?
- 33:49Speaker 3: Just sending her, yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You know what we're going to do? I got an idea. Ooh.
- 33:52Speaker 1: I have an idea. What? Okay. Let's see. Let's get
- 33:56Speaker 1: Pooh's car. I'll get a marker. Okay. I'll put Pooh's
- 34:00Speaker 1: Venmo on it.
- 34:02Speaker 3: People will send him money. I guarantee you.
- 34:04Speaker 1: And I'm just going to say, what can we say?
- 34:06Speaker 1: We got to say something catchy and cute. Like, Bob, bro,
- 34:10Speaker 1: a coffee. No. No. I'm going to say it's your
- 34:13Speaker 1: bachelorette party. That's what's funny. That's funny. And then when
- 34:16Speaker 1: you drive, you got to wear a wig.
- 34:20Speaker 3: The Bachelorette Challenge?
- 34:21Speaker 1: Yes. So I'm going to put on there, like, don't
- 34:24Speaker 1: be stank, buy me a drink.
- 34:27Speaker 5: Okay.
- 34:28Speaker 1: And then, poo, I'll give you a wig, and let's
- 34:30Speaker 1: see how much money you get over the weekend. Oh, good.
- 34:33Speaker 1: We got some people to talk to. Okay, I'll answer
- 34:35Speaker 1: your phones. One second. People are calling about it. Yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 1: look at it. I'm so curious whether you get money
- 34:40Speaker 1: or not. Getting ready for Dirty Little Secret on Mix 102.9.
- 34:44Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid, Candace Lopez, Producer Pooh. First, though,
- 34:47Speaker 1: we were just talking about, you know, the ladies who
- 34:49Speaker 1: write their Venmos on their cars for their bachelorette party. Like, hey,
- 34:52Speaker 1: buy me a drink. You know, I'm getting married or whatever.
- 34:54Speaker 1: Do you really make money? Oh, we're getting calls because
- 34:56Speaker 1: we're going to do this with Pooh.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Okay.
- 34:57Speaker 1: We're doing with Pooh. I'm going to write on there,
- 34:59Speaker 1: you know, buy me a drink, bachelorette party, and we're
- 35:02Speaker 1: going to have him wear a wig all weekend and
- 35:05Speaker 1: see how much money he gets by Monday.
- 35:06Speaker 9: Wouldn't that be funny?
- 35:07Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 35:08Speaker 1: I love it. That's one ugly girl, but I guess that's... Oh.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You might get a lot of money. We'll see. Okay, Sam,
- 35:15Speaker 1: how are you?
- 35:15Speaker 4: Hey, it's pretty good. Okay, so I work in IT,
- 35:20Speaker 4: and we express this a lot. When you see QR
- 35:24Speaker 4: code and you see like that Venmo stuff, do not
- 35:28Speaker 4: scan it.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Really?
- 35:30Speaker 4: A lot of people, like you see Lost Puppy and
- 35:34Speaker 4: you want to scan the QR code. That is a
- 35:36Speaker 4: fake QR. Sometimes the fake QR code that leads you
- 35:40Speaker 4: to another website, as soon as you click on it,
- 35:43Speaker 4: They're in your phone.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Okay. There you go. Good heads up. I have heard
- 35:47Speaker 1: of that, like, at parking places where you scan the
- 35:50Speaker 1: QR code to park. I have heard of that. Yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 4: Unless you know where that QR code comes from, do
- 35:55Speaker 4: not scan it. I don't care if it's a cute
- 35:58Speaker 4: puppy or a party or whatever.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Sam, that's a good warning.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Yeah. We preach that where I work, so I just
- 36:06Speaker 4: wanted to let you guys know.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Cybersecurity Sam, thank you, sir. Thank you. I appreciate you, man.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Have a good weekend.
- 36:15Speaker 8: Wow.
- 36:15Speaker 1: See, you got to be careful with this kind of stuff. Oh, Brittany,
- 36:18Speaker 1: what's up? Okay. So you did this.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:21Speaker 10: So when my husband and I got married, we were
- 36:23Speaker 10: driving out of town to go to the wedding venue
- 36:26Speaker 10: and we put that on our window. Like we're getting married,
- 36:29Speaker 10: buy us a drink. And you know how like on Venmo,
- 36:32Speaker 10: you can send like little messages like for what the
- 36:34Speaker 10: money is for.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Sure.
- 36:36Speaker 10: Somebody wrote on their bro run.
- 36:39Speaker 2: And sent them like 50 bucks.
- 36:46Speaker 1: So you did get money though.
- 36:48Speaker 10: Yeah, we, we got a, I'm not going to lie.
- 36:51Speaker 10: Just from DFW to, it was on the other side
- 36:54Speaker 10: of Azle where our wedding venue was at. We got
- 36:58Speaker 10: about 80 bucks in total. We have like a $ 2 here,
- 37:01Speaker 10: but the biggest one was that $ 50 one. And he
- 37:04Speaker 10: wrote bro run.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Oh my God. That's amazing. But you're still together, right?
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah, happily married.
- 37:10Speaker 10: Actually, our one year is coming up on October 18th.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Oh, well, happy early one year anniversary. That's good.
- 37:15Speaker 10: We're going to go see Tim McGraw tonight. Maybe I
- 37:17Speaker 10: should put it on the window. Like, this is our
- 37:19Speaker 10: anniversary gift.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Buy us a drink.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Why not?
- 37:21Speaker 1: Do it and let me know what happens by Monday, okay?
- 37:24Speaker 1: For sure. That is awesome. All right, let's do it.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Dirty Little Secret. Get it off your chest.
- 37:29Speaker 5: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 37:31Speaker 5: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 37:35Speaker 1: If you have a secret, okay, call us. Just confess
- 37:38Speaker 1: anytime you want.
- 37:38Speaker 2: 833-787-9000.
- 37:38Speaker 1: 1029, and you have a secret. What's going on?
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a secret from last Christmas that I
- 37:47Speaker 2: have never told a single person. Oh. Not even my
- 37:50Speaker 2: husband have I told this to because it is honestly
- 37:53Speaker 2: one of the most embarrassing things I have ever done.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Oh, what happened? I love embarrassing.
- 37:58Speaker 2: No.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Oh, my God.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Last year, my husband and I went to this
- 38:03Speaker 2: little Christmas party at one of his co-workers' houses. And
- 38:07Speaker 2: it was my first time meeting a lot of people
- 38:09Speaker 2: he worked with. So obviously, I was trying to make
- 38:11Speaker 2: the best impression. Yeah. So everything was going great. We
- 38:15Speaker 2: were eating, drinking. I don't know. what I ate, but
- 38:22Speaker 2: suddenly my stomach started making noises I have never heard
- 38:27Speaker 2: come out of a human body before.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Oh, that's the worst ever.
- 38:34Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 38:35Speaker 1: When you're not home and that happens. Oh, my God.
- 38:39Speaker 1: The bubbles. Oh, my God. Whatever.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I never have stomach problems. So whatever I ate
- 38:44Speaker 2: was just legit trying to kill me.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Okay.
- 38:47Speaker 2: And so I casually sneak off to the bathroom. And
- 38:52Speaker 2: after I was in there for way too long, the
- 38:57Speaker 2: absolute worst thing that can happen in somebody else's house
- 39:00Speaker 2: happened to me.
- 39:01Speaker 8: What?
- 39:02Speaker 2: I clogged the toilet. Oh!
- 39:07Speaker 1: No! That is a legit fear of mine.
- 39:13Speaker 2: It is? Yes!
- 39:14Speaker 1: I mean, I.
- 39:17Speaker 2: Clogged it, so I'm just like, I'm panicking, right? Because.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Yes, I've done it before. You have?
- 39:25Speaker 2: Have you? Yes. Oh my God, so you know.
- 39:29Speaker 8: It is.
- 39:29Speaker 1: an awful place to be. My anxiety, it shot up.
- 39:32Speaker 1: It only happened once. It was at a friend's house
- 39:34Speaker 1: that I knew, not even like this situation. So you
- 39:37Speaker 1: do start to panic.
- 39:38Speaker 9: For real.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:39Speaker 2: So I'm freaking out. I'm looking everywhere for a plunger,
- 39:43Speaker 2: and there isn't one. And I, you know, like I
- 39:46Speaker 2: thought about flushing it again, but like the water was
- 39:49Speaker 2: really high. Yeah.
- 39:50Speaker 1: You can't do that.
- 39:51Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:52Speaker 2: No, I knew that if that toilet overflowed, I was
- 39:55Speaker 2: just going to have to move out of the state.
- 39:58Speaker 1: Then it goes down the hall. The whole thing. If
- 40:02Speaker 1: you flush it too many times, if it's clogged, it'll overflow.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And that's, oh, boy.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Yeah. I just was like, there's no way I'm walking
- 40:11Speaker 2: out of this bathroom and admitting that this was me.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 2: So I looked over at the bathtub and there was
- 40:17Speaker 2: some kids' bath toys in it. And this is the
- 40:20Speaker 2: part that I'm really not proud of. I grabbed a
- 40:24Speaker 2: couple of those toys and I threw them in the toilet.
- 40:27Speaker 9: I waited until I knew.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Nobody was outside and I just like got out of
- 40:31Speaker 2: the bathroom and And I immediately went, oh, my God, oh, no.
- 40:43Speaker 2: And then I found my husband's co-worker, and I said,
- 40:46Speaker 2: I think one of the kids threw some toys in
- 40:49Speaker 2: the toilet and clogged it. Oh! Yeah, okay.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Smart. That's brilliant. Yeah.
- 40:56Speaker 2: He... He completely believed me. And he goes, oh, my God,
- 41:03Speaker 2: thank you for telling me. And he just like immediately
- 41:05Speaker 2: went in there to fix it.
- 41:07Speaker 1: That is so smart. It is. Oh, my God.
- 41:11Speaker 2: I mean, you know, desperate times there. So he actually
- 41:15Speaker 2: apologized to me.
- 41:17Speaker 1: He had no idea.
- 41:19Speaker 2: And he's like, there's another bathroom upstairs you can use.
- 41:22Speaker 2: So I had to go upstairs and pretend to use
- 41:25Speaker 2: the bathroom again to keep the story going.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I mean, what a good, I feel like you've done
- 41:32Speaker 1: this before. I don't even think about that. That's so smart.
- 41:36Speaker 1: You blame it on the kids, right?
- 41:38Speaker 5: For sure.
- 41:38Speaker 1: All these kids threw some bad toys down there, clogged
- 41:41Speaker 1: the toilet. Wasn't me.
- 41:43Speaker 2: That poor kid just got blamed for absolutely destroying that toilet.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Little Timmy is grounded for no reason.
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:52Speaker 1: I had no gifts under the tree for Christmas.
- 41:55Speaker 3: At least you didn't have to move out of state.
- 41:58Speaker 1: Yeah, but at least you got to.
- 41:58Speaker 2: I know. I feel bad, but what am I going
- 42:01Speaker 2: to do?
- 42:02Speaker 9: Like, I can't.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Forget that kid. That's exactly what you should have done. Yeah,
- 42:06Speaker 1: who cares? He's probably a bad kid anyway.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Okay, we'll go with that.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I know a girl who clogged a toilet on the
- 42:13Speaker 1: first date.
- 42:14Speaker 5: Oh.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Went back to the guy's house. Had stomach issues. Went
- 42:18Speaker 1: to his restroom real quick thinking it won't be a
- 42:20Speaker 1: big deal. Clogged his whole toilet. On the first date.
- 42:25Speaker 1: You don't recover from that. There's no second date. You're
- 42:30Speaker 1: getting ghosted. You know, he's thinking, first date and she's
- 42:33Speaker 1: just going to go in my house and just destroy it.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Destroy it? Blow up my toilet? Well, ma'am, thank you
- 42:41Speaker 1: so much for the confession. I hope you feel better.
- 42:43Speaker 1: At least you got it off your chest. And you
- 42:46Speaker 1: also informed everybody on what to do if this happens.
- 42:49Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 42:50Speaker 2: That's true. I hope it was a service.
- 42:51Speaker 1: It was a public service. Thank you so much. Just
- 42:54Speaker 1: blame it on the hood rat demon fetuses. Right. Just
- 42:59Speaker 1: when you thought she forgot my birthday, Ella Langley did?
- 43:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Oh, I might have a little surprise that she sent me.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Really?
- 43:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what?
- 43:06Speaker 8: Hold on.
- 43:07Speaker 1: All rise.
- 43:08Speaker 5: It's time for Candice Court. It gets settled here with
- 43:12Speaker 5: Billy the Kid.
- 43:13Speaker 8: In the Morning.
- 43:14Speaker 2: All rise.
- 43:16Speaker 1: For the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Wow.
- 43:18Speaker 1: And for Ella Langley. Okay. Because, did you see that
- 43:21Speaker 1: box that was in here the other day?
- 43:23Speaker 3: No, what box?
- 43:24Speaker 1: Oh, it was a big box and it said Ella
- 43:25Speaker 1: Langley on it. And yeah, it was a little gift
- 43:29Speaker 1: box that.
- 43:30Speaker 3: Where is it?
- 43:31Speaker 1: It's in the other room. I'll bring it in because
- 43:32Speaker 1: I didn't want to brag and be boastful, but you
- 43:34Speaker 1: know what? It's a little hat. It's a new energy
- 43:38Speaker 1: drink she came out with.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Exclusive what?
- 43:40Speaker 1: Miela? It's like bum energy. She did a collab with
- 43:43Speaker 1: bum energy. Oh, yeah? Yeah, and she sent me a
- 43:45Speaker 1: box with a hat, a shirt, a bandana, a little note.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Okay.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Does it say have a good show? No.
- 43:52Speaker 3: Enjoy the show.
- 43:54Speaker 1: God, I hate you. All right. Either way. Candice Court,
- 43:58Speaker 1: are you ready, Candice?
- 43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Let's get serious. This is Court. I was trying to
- 44:02Speaker 1: enjoy the moment, Pooh. Thought she forgot, but she obviously didn't.
- 44:05Speaker 3: No.
- 44:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Candice Court. A little extra pep in my step this weekend.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Okay.
- 44:11Speaker 1: All right. Now, if you have a problem, Candice will
- 44:13Speaker 1: help you. At Candice on air. At Candice on air. Hey, guys,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I need some help. I'm writing for Candice Court about
- 44:20Speaker 1: a problem with my mother-in-law. She recently retired and now
- 44:23Speaker 1: spends all of her time on Facebook. including posting AI
- 44:28Speaker 1: pictures of our kids without asking. Okay. My husband doesn't
- 44:34Speaker 1: want me to say anything to her about it, but
- 44:37Speaker 1: I don't want AI to have my kids' faces. We
- 44:41Speaker 1: don't post them online other than when I post them
- 44:43Speaker 1: on my private IG. I would absolutely never upload them
- 44:47Speaker 1: to AI because I think it's going to be a
- 44:49Speaker 1: problem in the future. I think she thinks it's not
- 44:52Speaker 1: really a picture of them if it's AI. Okay. But lately,
- 44:56Speaker 1: it's like, here's our kids if they were in the 80s. Oh, God.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 45:02Speaker 1: That trend.
- 45:03Speaker 3: It is everywhere.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Everyone and their mama. Yeah. Now, don't make us. We'll
- 45:09Speaker 1: pull up some real pictures of us in the 80s.
- 45:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you and I.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Either way, that trend is huge. She says, here they
- 45:15Speaker 1: are if they were grownups. She'll post all these different
- 45:17Speaker 1: AI pictures of them. It's just too much, and I
- 45:20Speaker 1: can't believe my husband won't say anything to make her
- 45:23Speaker 1: stop it.
- 45:24Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 45:25Speaker 1: What can I do without, you know, being rude? Or
- 45:28Speaker 1: maybe it's maybe it's me. Question mark. OK, Candace, you're
- 45:33Speaker 1: pretty private.
- 45:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:35Speaker 1: You know, you don't I mean, you post stuff, but
- 45:37Speaker 1: you don't post a lot of stuff when it comes
- 45:39Speaker 1: to your son and whatnot.
- 45:41Speaker 3: I used to.
- 45:42Speaker 1: You did.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Back in the day, like I would post his photo
- 45:44Speaker 3: every day when he was a baby and we weren't
- 45:46Speaker 3: living around family.
- 45:48Speaker 7: And I would do a Daily Enzo post. And so
- 45:50Speaker 7: they could see it and people loved it. And the
- 45:52Speaker 7: family and friends would be like, what happened? Where's the
- 45:55Speaker 7: Daily Enzo? And then eventually I was just like, I
- 45:58Speaker 7: don't know. I don't know if I should be doing this.
- 46:00Speaker 7: And that was just like my family and friends.
- 46:02Speaker 1: But you get a little bit nervous about AI.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Yeah, because we just don't know what's happening. We don't
- 46:07Speaker 3: know what's behind all of this and what the motivation is.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Everything.
- 46:11Speaker 7: I know, but now you're starting to hear about this
- 46:14Speaker 7: facial mapping, and you can read the photos, the details
- 46:18Speaker 7: that are under the photo that you can't see that
- 46:20Speaker 7: are in the background.
- 46:21Speaker 1: And I get it, and I understand why people don't
- 46:24Speaker 1: want to, and I respect that. I totally respect it.
- 46:26Speaker 1: At the same time, I think if somebody wants to
- 46:27Speaker 1: get my picture... I mean, they're going to get it.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:30Speaker 1: If AI wants my picture, all they got to do
- 46:32Speaker 1: is go online and find me. But I just.
- 46:33Speaker 7: Feel like the new standard should be, you know, asking
- 46:36Speaker 7: someone before you upload their photo to AI. Like, we
- 46:39Speaker 7: have people that upload us for different things and making
- 46:42Speaker 7: flyers and stuff.
- 46:42Speaker 3: And I'm like, whoa, hang on a second. Like, I
- 46:44Speaker 3: didn't give you permission to use my picture.
- 46:46Speaker 1: I just don't really care. Okay. Whatever.
- 46:49Speaker 3: Well, wait until they show you and it doesn't even
- 46:51Speaker 3: look like you.
- 46:51Speaker 1: They have.
- 46:52Speaker 3: It's trying to be you.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. I don't want to look like
- 46:54Speaker 1: me anyway.
- 46:55Speaker 2: Cool.
- 46:55Speaker 7: No, I had to approve some photos and I was like, whoa, no,
- 46:58Speaker 7: we are not sending that to anyone.
- 47:01Speaker 1: I saw one AI picture that somebody did of me
- 47:02Speaker 1: for a flyer and my head was all small. Yeah.
- 47:05Speaker 1: And I was like, you know, it doesn't look too bad.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 47:09Speaker 3: If it makes you look better than you actually look,
- 47:10Speaker 3: then you're like, cool, let's do it.
- 47:12Speaker 1: But I understand.
- 47:13Speaker 3: They do most of the time.
- 47:13Speaker 1: But you got to look at grandma. Grandma's just trying to,
- 47:16Speaker 1: you know, do something. She's bored. Whatever.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 1: She doesn't mean any.
- 47:19Speaker 3: Go play Mahjong.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but she doesn't mean. True. You know. She doesn't
- 47:23Speaker 1: mean anything bad by it.
- 47:24Speaker 3: I know she doesn't.
- 47:25Speaker 7: And that's where you have a, it's a slippery slope with,
- 47:28Speaker 7: you know, this type of thing when it comes to like,
- 47:31Speaker 7: you know, parents and grandparents.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And they think it's just fun. They don't think that
- 47:33Speaker 1: the picture could be going somewhere where it's not.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Right.
- 47:36Speaker 3: It is fun, you know, until they're, you know, training
- 47:39Speaker 3: their systems on your, you know, facial recognition.
- 47:42Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Grandma need to ask permission.
- 47:44Speaker 3: We just don't know. I agree.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I don't think so. She does. Yeah, grandma need to
- 47:47Speaker 1: ask permission.
- 47:48Speaker 3: It's still their photo.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I think grandma just means nothing by it. You know what?
- 47:52Speaker 1: I think if AI and the government and everybody's scared
- 47:55Speaker 1: about getting your picture, if they want your picture, they're
- 47:56Speaker 1: going to get your picture.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:58Speaker 1: They could turn on the camera in your phone and
- 48:00Speaker 1: get it. I agree.
- 48:01Speaker 7: But if it causes you anxiety in your life, it's
- 48:04Speaker 7: not worth it.
- 48:05Speaker 1: That's fair, too.
- 48:06Speaker 6: And I'm trying to hear my wife's mouth. So I'm
- 48:07Speaker 6: going to tell you, if it's my mom or my mother-in-law,
- 48:10Speaker 6: I got to.
- 48:10Speaker 1: You would say something to your mom?
- 48:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:12Speaker 3: That's interesting.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Chill out, mom. But you would say just because you
- 48:15Speaker 1: don't want to hear your wife's mouth. Wow, Pooh. I mean.
- 48:18Speaker 1: I don't want to hear my wife's mouth. Right.
- 48:21Speaker 3: You usually side with the moms.
- 48:22Speaker 1: I usually do. But I mean, on that. Yeah. I'm surprised. Okay, well.
- 48:27Speaker 1: No wives. No, I don't. What is it? Happy wife?
- 48:30Speaker 1: Happy life?
- 48:31Speaker 3: Yeah, but all wives aren't naggy.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I know.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Women aren't just constantly nagging people and running their mouths.
- 48:37Speaker 1: They're not naggy. Why do you make it sound like
- 48:39Speaker 1: all women are naggy? No, they're not.
- 48:43Speaker 6: From what I hear, all my married friends, they always
- 48:46Speaker 6: tell me their wives be getting on them, so.
- 48:48Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, no, that never happens.
- 48:50Speaker 3: Do they deserve to be got on?
- 48:52Speaker 1: Candace, are you a naggy wife? No, I don't think
- 48:54Speaker 1: Candace is. Not at all. I'll call Eric.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Yeah, he'll tell you no.
- 48:58Speaker 1: Well, of course he will if you're on the phone.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Candace is different, though.
- 49:01Speaker 3: I'm not a nag. I just go with the flow.
- 49:04Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 49:04Speaker 1: All right, well, go with the flow and get this
- 49:07Speaker 1: verdict going on.
- 49:08Speaker 10: What do you think?
- 49:09Speaker 7: Look, I'm sorry, mother-in-law, but you're guilty of being a
- 49:11Speaker 7: privacy patty.
- 49:12Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's a way to handle this. Handle her
- 49:15Speaker 3: with care. That's the thing.
- 49:17Speaker 7: You can't be a jerk about it. She doesn't have
- 49:19Speaker 7: ill intentions.
- 49:19Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. But she's still guilty. You can't
- 49:22Speaker 3: be uploading your kids' photos to AI.
- 49:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 49:24Speaker 3: Fair enough.
- 49:25Speaker 1: She is guilty of being a.
- 49:26Speaker 3: Yeah, she's a privacy patty.
- 49:28Speaker 1: Privacy patty.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:30Speaker 5: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 49:33Speaker 5: Kid in the morning.
- 49:34Speaker 8: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 49:37Speaker 1: Also, you better start practicing saying Mix 102.9, great Gremlin
- 49:40Speaker 1: Gas gift card giveaway. Got to say it five times fast.
- 49:44Speaker 1: I know it's hard for me to say.
- 49:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 49:45Speaker 1: It's not easy, but you got this. We'll do it next.
- 49:48Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 49:49Speaker 7: Well, electric air taxis made their first launch in Fort
- 49:52Speaker 7: Worth yesterday. This is part of a multi-air testing program
- 49:56Speaker 7: TxDOT is running to prepare for the future of If
- 49:59Speaker 7: you haven't seen these yet, it kind of looks like
- 50:01Speaker 7: a helicopter, but.
- 50:02Speaker 3: Also a drone.
- 50:03Speaker 7: So they take off vertically. These initial flights won't have
- 50:07Speaker 7: passengers in them. They're just collecting data and they're trying
- 50:10Speaker 7: to figure out, you know, what are.
- 50:11Speaker 3: The routes going to be?
- 50:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:13Speaker 7: So this pilot program will happen in phases over the
- 50:16Speaker 7: next three years. I know one of the companies, because
- 50:19Speaker 7: there's a few of them, is looking to actually host
- 50:22Speaker 7: Team USA today.
- 50:23Speaker 3: As their air taxi for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles,
- 50:27Speaker 3: which is so wild to me.
- 50:29Speaker 1: See, I want to do this, and they've been talking
- 50:31Speaker 1: about this for a long time, and it's actually going
- 50:32Speaker 1: to happen here in Dallas-Fort Worth, which is insane that
- 50:35Speaker 1: we're one of the test cities. I feel like I
- 50:38Speaker 1: would do it if I could fly it.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Okay, so you want to control it.
- 50:41Speaker 1: I want to be in control. I don't want to
- 50:42Speaker 1: be a backseat flyer.
- 50:44Speaker 3: Okay. But why?
- 50:46Speaker 1: I feel like I could figure it out. I just
- 50:48Speaker 1: don't want my life in the hands of someone else.
- 50:50Speaker 3: But it is when you get in an Uber.
- 50:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I know, but that feels different.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Okay, because you're on the ground?
- 50:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm on the ground, and, you know, I can
- 50:57Speaker 1: deal with that. I just, I feel like, give me
- 50:58Speaker 1: one of these things. Let me learn how to drive it. Okay.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Or fly it. Then I'll fly it around. Then I'll
- 51:02Speaker 1: fly us around.
- 51:03Speaker 2: Oh.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know about that. Yeah, I don't know.
- 51:06Speaker 1: You wouldn't get in a drone with me? No.
- 51:09Speaker 3: I just don't think so.
- 51:10Speaker 1: Billy, you play too much. Yeah, that's true. I can
- 51:13Speaker 1: just see you. Hey, guys.
- 51:14Speaker 3: You'd be pushing the limits, for sure.
- 51:17Speaker 1: Yeah, of course I would be.
- 51:18Speaker 8: Up, down, up, down.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:20Speaker 7: It has a joystick or something.
- 51:23Speaker 1: You know how to fly it. I played Call of
- 51:25Speaker 1: Duty and stuff.
- 51:26Speaker 4: Oh, no.
- 51:27Speaker 1: Fortnite.
- 51:27Speaker 3: I know what I'm doing.
- 51:29Speaker 1: No.
- 51:30Speaker 8: OK.
- 51:30Speaker 3: I don't want to ride in that with you. I
- 51:31Speaker 3: don't think I want to ride in at all. But
- 51:33Speaker 3: never say never.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Right. Right.
- 51:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 51:35Speaker 3: I'll keep you posted, though. It's a few years away. OK,
- 51:37Speaker 3: we got time.
- 51:38Speaker 7: Let's talk about high school football tonight.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Lots of big games around the Metroplex. Let's see what
- 51:44Speaker 3: we got. Terrell Tigers at Crandall Pirates.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know anything about these teams. So it's
- 51:49Speaker 1: a Tiger versus a Pirate? Right.
- 51:51Speaker 3: Pick based on the mascot for that one.
- 51:53Speaker 1: Well, it's going to be a Tiger. It's going to
- 51:54Speaker 1: beat up a Pirate.
- 51:55Speaker 3: You think so?
- 51:56Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay. What's a Pirate got?
- 51:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:58Speaker 1: A hook, man?
- 52:00Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 52:01Speaker 3: Yeah, you're right.
- 52:02Speaker 1: No. Yeah, anyway. Okay. Go Tigers, I think, on that one.
- 52:04Speaker 3: Okay. Pick the winner of this one. Crowley Eagles at
- 52:07Speaker 3: Martin Warriors.
- 52:08Speaker 1: Ooh. Crowley and Eagle. So it's Crowley, not North Crowley.
- 52:13Speaker 8: Right.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Oh, Crowley. Now, North Crowley beating everyone this year.
- 52:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:16Speaker 1: They're going to win the state championship.
- 52:17Speaker 3: I forgot what their mascot is. Panthers?
- 52:19Speaker 1: Yeah, who cares? Okay.
- 52:20Speaker 3: This is the Crowley Eagles.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Okay, so you have an eagle. Versus a warrior. Yeah.
- 52:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Ooh, that eagle's going to scoop down and knock the Warriors'
- 52:29Speaker 1: eyes out. You think?
- 52:30Speaker 8: Okay.
- 52:31Speaker 1: So I'm going to go with the Eagles. All right.
- 52:33Speaker 3: Good game. Red Oak Hawks at Arlington Colts. Pick the
- 52:36Speaker 3: winner of that one.
- 52:38Speaker 1: See, you know a colt's going to kick a hawk. No,
- 52:40Speaker 1: a hawk is going.
- 52:41Speaker 3: To come down.
- 52:43Speaker 1: Swoop and dupe. Yeah, swoop and dupe them. And because
- 52:45Speaker 1: Red Oak, I'm telling you right now, people in Red Oak,
- 52:48Speaker 1: they're built different. Yeah, they are. So I have red
- 52:51Speaker 1: oak on this one because a red oak hawk is
- 52:53Speaker 1: not even a regular hawk.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:55Speaker 1: He's got a magic hawk. He's got a shank.
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 1: Okay. He's got something that he's bringing to the fight.
- 53:00Speaker 1: He's not just coming. He's flying solo. No, he's going
- 53:02Speaker 1: to bring a million hawks.
- 53:05Speaker 3: That's true. It's not hawk. It's Hawks.
- 53:07Speaker 1: It's Hawks. Oh, yeah. Hawks. Yes.
- 53:11Speaker 3: Well, good luck to everybody playing tonight. Friday Night Lights. Guys,
- 53:14Speaker 3: listen to this new survey that says 30% of Americans
- 53:18Speaker 3: admit they have accepted a date just for the free
- 53:21Speaker 3: meal or free drinks. I guess this is happening so
- 53:24Speaker 3: much there's even a new term for it now. It's
- 53:26Speaker 3: called a foodie call.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I love this. I can't. This is so wild. Earlier,
- 53:32Speaker 1: Pooh's like, oh, yeah, girls be doing this all the time.
- 53:34Speaker 1: I don't think girls do this all the time. He
- 53:37Speaker 1: said he's had girls do it to him. Yeah. And
- 53:39Speaker 1: I'm like, what girl is calling Pooh and being like,
- 53:42Speaker 1: just for the free meal? Yeah, just back in the day, yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 3: And where were you taking her?
- 53:46Speaker 1: Yeah, where were you taking him so fancy? You're notoriously
- 53:48Speaker 1: kind of a, you know, frugal person. I'm frugal, yeah,
- 53:51Speaker 1: but still, Chili's hits. Oh, my. That's two for 20.
- 53:55Speaker 1: You don't think ladies can afford their own Chili's? Like,
- 53:58Speaker 1: ladies can't get their own triple dipper?
- 54:00Speaker 3: That Presidente, though, hits.
- 54:01Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. Candace, if you're single, you're calling poo just
- 54:05Speaker 1: because you're craving a- No!
- 54:06Speaker 6: Some of them toxicas I used to date, yeah, they
- 54:08Speaker 6: like the Chili's and the Applebee's.
- 54:11Speaker 1: I don't even think you're taking them there, though. Where
- 54:13Speaker 1: am I going? I think it's more like Red Robin. Girl,
- 54:18Speaker 1: I got a coupon.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Don't they have endless prizes?
- 54:19Speaker 1: Hey, girl, I'll tell you. I got a Groupon for
- 54:21Speaker 1: Red Robin. A Groupon!
- 54:23Speaker 8: Wow.
- 54:25Speaker 7: The survey does say that women, though, are a bit
- 54:27Speaker 7: more likely to pull a foodie call, but at least
- 54:29Speaker 7: one in four people from every generation said they have
- 54:32Speaker 7: been motivated to go on a date just for the food.
- 54:35Speaker 1: Girl, I mean, I got these two-for-one hamburgers. Two-for-one. And
- 54:40Speaker 1: never-ending fries. What do you say I pick you up
- 54:43Speaker 1: at a round? 10 p.m. 10 p.m.? It's closed. But
- 54:47Speaker 1: that's when the deal starts.
- 54:48Speaker 3: Okay, baby.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Oh, thank God Pooh asked me to go to Red Robin. Hey, say, girl.
- 54:56Speaker 1: I'm going to starve. Hey, say, girl, I got this
- 55:00Speaker 1: Groupon for Lubies. Oh, yeah, Luann Platter. Yeah, I know Luann. Oh, yeah?
- 55:06Speaker 1: So I can get her platter for free. Wow. Come
- 55:09Speaker 1: on through, girl. Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Big flex.
- 55:12Speaker 4: All right.
- 55:13Speaker 3: All right, I'm Candace Lopez.
- 55:14Speaker 7: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 55:16Speaker 1: Now, are you ready for the Wheel of Misfortune?
- 55:18Speaker 3: I guess.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Here we go.
- 55:21Speaker 5: It's Billy the Kid in the Morning's Wheel of Misfortune.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Unmixed 102.9.
- 55:29Speaker 1: We play a little trivia game, and yeah, whoever loses
- 55:32Speaker 1: has to spin the Wheel of Misfortune. Here he comes.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Wheel of Misfortune. Welcome, Junior Trivia. Good morning, everybody. The host.
- 55:44Speaker 1: The world famous host. And he does everything. Junior does
- 55:47Speaker 1: a little bit of everything. He DJs. He does traffic
- 55:49Speaker 1: for us.
- 55:50Speaker 3: He smokes meat.
- 55:51Speaker 1: He smokes a.
- 55:52Speaker 9: Chub like no one does. Can't wait to smoke another one.
- 55:57Speaker 1: Yeah, he'll smoke a chub. I just smoked a meatloaf. Man.
- 56:00Speaker 1: You smoked meatloaf. I did.
- 56:01Speaker 9: It came out so good.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Really?
- 56:03Speaker 1: That actually sounds good.
- 56:04Speaker 9: Yeah, it does.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Yeah. Smoked meatloaf. Yes, sir. Okay, cool. See, he's a
- 56:08Speaker 1: man of many traits.
- 56:08Speaker 9: Respect.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Including trivia questions that are designed for fourth graders but
- 56:13Speaker 1: stump us. Listen, we're just DJs at the end of
- 56:16Speaker 1: the day. Are we ready for today's trivia? We got
- 56:19Speaker 1: five questions. Whoever loses will have to spin the wheel
- 56:21Speaker 1: of misfortune. Chime in with your name once again to
- 56:25Speaker 1: go over the rules. You don't have to wait till
- 56:27Speaker 1: the question's done. Sometimes that's right. You should.
- 56:30Speaker 3: That's been my downfall.
- 56:31Speaker 1: That's been your downfall because I sometimes chime in if
- 56:35Speaker 1: I don't even really know.
- 56:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 56:38Speaker 1: That's my downfall. Are you ready? Let's do it. Question
- 56:42Speaker 1: number one.
- 56:43Speaker 9: All right, the boys are back on Sunday. Let's start
- 56:45Speaker 9: with a Cowboys question.
- 56:46Speaker 1: All right.
- 56:47Speaker 9: Which current Dallas Cowboys player was the first round draft
- 56:51Speaker 9: pick out of the University of Oklahoma in 2020?
- 56:54Speaker 1: Billy.
- 56:55Speaker 9: I heard Billy first.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Oh, I'm going to go ahead and say CeeDee Lamb.
- 56:58Speaker 9: I'm going to go ahead and say you're correct.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Yes. There we go. Okay.
- 57:03Speaker 3: CeeDee.
- 57:04Speaker 1: CeeDee. Our year.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:08Speaker 1: Okay, question number two. Here we go.
- 57:10Speaker 9: What is the only planet in our solar system that
- 57:14Speaker 9: rotates on its side?
- 57:15Speaker 1: Billy. Candace.
- 57:17Speaker 9: That was definitely Billy.
- 57:18Speaker 1: I'm going to go ahead and say Uranus. Yes.
- 57:20Speaker 8: Yes.
- 57:25Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 57:26Speaker 3: You sure it's not Uranus?
- 57:28Speaker 1: No, I think it's Uranus. I'm pretty sure it's Uranus. Oh,
- 57:31Speaker 1: you say Uranus?
- 57:32Speaker 2: Uranus.
- 57:32Speaker 8: Uranus.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Is that how you say it?
- 57:35Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:35Speaker 9: It's definitely not as fun.
- 57:37Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 57:37Speaker 1: No, no. Listen, I wanted to say Uranus. Yeah, I know.
- 57:40Speaker 1: All right. I'm up two. Candice Lopez, zero. Pooh, zero.
- 57:45Speaker 1: Question number three. All right. Here we go.
- 57:47Speaker 9: Before becoming one of country music's biggest stars, Morgan Wallen
- 57:51Speaker 9: competed on which?
- 57:54Speaker 3: It was.
- 57:55Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 57:56Speaker 3: Now I'm tripping. Which one it is.
- 57:58Speaker 7: It was the American Idol.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Billy.
- 58:01Speaker 8: No.
- 58:03Speaker 1: I don't know. I'll let Pooh do it. Thank you.
- 58:05Speaker 1: It was the voice. It was the voice.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Yes. Okay. Two to one.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Um, we're on question number four. Yeah. Yes. Can, can CeeLo,
- 58:16Speaker 1: can Candace even catch up at this point? Let's see.
- 58:19Speaker 1: All right, here we go.
- 58:21Speaker 9: What Texas city was named the number one Christmas town
- 58:24Speaker 9: in the.
- 58:24Speaker 1: U.S.? Oh, I heard Billy. Okay. I was mad about
- 58:28Speaker 1: this and you did it in Texas Top Stories.
- 58:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I know. I know what it is.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Because it wasn't Grapevine and it should have been Grapevine.
- 58:36Speaker 1: It was Georgetown?
- 58:38Speaker 5: No.
- 58:38Speaker 3: No. Dang it.
- 58:40Speaker 9: Do you want me to finish the question?
- 58:42Speaker 3: Yeah, you want to finish the question.
- 58:44Speaker 1: All right.
- 58:45Speaker 9: What Texas city was named the number one Texas town
- 58:48Speaker 9: in the U.S. in 2024 and is also known as
- 58:52Speaker 9: the Christmas capital of Texas?
- 58:54Speaker 1: Candace.
- 58:54Speaker 3: I mean, it is Grapevine.
- 58:55Speaker 1: It is Grapevine. Technically, I should have won.
- 58:58Speaker 9: You didn't let me finish the question.
- 59:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but I still said Grapevine.
- 59:03Speaker 9: Well, but you didn't say that was your answer.
- 59:05Speaker 1: You're right. All right. Okay, I think I'm safe. Yeah,
- 59:09Speaker 1: you're safe. So it's between Candace and Pooh. Oh, no.
- 59:13Speaker 1: It's tied one to one. Do you want me to
- 59:14Speaker 1: even play? No, I'm going to sit back. I'm going
- 59:16Speaker 1: to let you two go at it.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Because then we still have to go for an extra question.
- 59:19Speaker 4: Yeah, no, no.
- 59:20Speaker 1: We got one question left.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yeah, you should sit out.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Okay, I'm sitting out. It's between you and Pooh.
- 59:25Speaker 5: Oh, God.
- 59:25Speaker 1: The deciding question on who will spin the wheel of misfortune.
- 59:28Speaker 1: All right, this is going to be a true or
- 59:30Speaker 1: false question. Oh, Lord.
- 59:31Speaker 9: The original iPhone had a physical keyboard.
- 59:35Speaker 2: Pooh.
- 59:35Speaker 5: Candace.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Oh, I heard Pooh. False. Correct.
- 59:39Speaker 9: That is false.
- 59:40Speaker 3: You should have had a third choice.
- 59:44Speaker 1: Candice Lopez is a loser.
- 59:46Speaker 3: I knew I should have more coffee today.
- 59:49Speaker 1: I can't believe it. Candice, you had a 50% shot
- 59:53Speaker 1: at winning a true or false.
- 59:54Speaker 3: I know.
- 59:55Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 59:56Speaker 3: I chimed in, just not fast enough.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: So you are the loser today of Wheel of Misfortune.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: That means you will have to spin this crazy wheel.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Should we just do it now or... Should we wait? Whatever.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: Do it now.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Okay, Candice, then get over there. Get over to the wheel,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: and we're going to go live on Instagram. Oh, okay.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: Now she's hitting stuff. She's mad. Oh, yeah. She's obviously
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: big mad. Let me turn the mic on. I've never
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: seen her throw a fit like that. I know. I've
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: never seen her throw anything.
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: It's fine.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: I'll take it like a champ, whatever it is. Okay, well,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: let me go what's over on the wheel. There's take shots,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: which if you had to take shots, that's a lot.
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: For the rest of the show, there's wear kid floaties.
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: for the rest of the day, which would make no
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: sense wearing kids floaty. You're not going to a water
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: park or a pool, are you? No. Okay, there is
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: Face Tats. There's Glam Squad. Glam Squad is whoever loses
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: the people on the show do their makeup. So sing
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: all day. Wig out. There's Watermelon Baby. You would have
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: to carry around a watermelon for the rest of the
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: day and pretend it's like your baby. So do you
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: want to spin that wheel?
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Yeah, let's go.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Okay, spin it hard as you can. Let's go. It's
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: still spinning. It's spinning. It has landed on. It has
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: landed on Glam Squad. This is the best day of
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: my life.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: That means that Pooh and I, we get to do
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: your makeup. Oh, boy. And you got to wear it
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: for the rest of the day. What do you got
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: going on today?
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Well, I have to go get a health screening.
- 1:01:39Speaker 7: I have to do some testing at Baylor.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Oh, well, you're going to look amazing, sweetie. You're doing amazing, sweetie.
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: We got makeup.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: This is awful.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: And I'm down to one hand, too.
- 1:01:50Speaker 10: Oh, great.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: We're going to do your makeup. We're going to do
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: it live on Instagram next.
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: At Mix 1029 FM. Who do you want to do
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: it more, me or Pooh? I don't.
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: It doesn't matter. It's going to be awful regardless.
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: That's not true. I mean, you probably have more experience
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: than Pooh. Well, I just mean, like, you've had more
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: ladies in your.
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: Life lately that, you know, are good at makeup.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Do you know what I mean? We're going live next
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: at Mix 1029 FM. Pooh just getting roasted. Oh, it
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: is time. Here we go. It's Billy the Kid in
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: the Mornings. We love Miss Fortune.
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: On Mix 102.9.
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: Yes, it is. Mix 102.9. Billy the Kid. Candice Lopez
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: is here. Producer Pooh is here. She just lost the
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: Wheel of Misfortune. It's time for me to do her makeup.
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: And I am so excited. Pooh's trying to film. But, Candice,
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: Pooh doesn't know how to do. We're live on Instagram,
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: by the way. Shout out to all our peeps, our
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Instagram fam. At Mix 1029 FM so you can see
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: this masterpiece. Because it landed on Glam Squad, which means
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Candice lost. Pooh and I do her makeup.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: Candace, the bigger challenge is Pooh doesn't know how to do.
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: It should be in my settings, but it's not.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: To be fair, it's not.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: That's what I'm trying to tell you. He doesn't know
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: how to do a time lapse. We're trying to do
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: a time lapse of this masterpiece. He doesn't know how
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: to do it. No, there's no. There is. Grandpa, you
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: just don't know how to work your phone. I had it. Okay.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: All right. That's fine. Here. Let's get on. Uh, we're
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: going to do it. We're live on Instagram. If you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: want to see this, because I have here, let me
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: give you a little visual of behind the scenes of
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: what I'm working with here. I have no idea what
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: I'm doing.
- 1:03:42Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Okay. Can we move this? You got to get closer. Yeah.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Who's supposed to set this up? Who you're never working
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: in my makeup shop. Your makeup, Sean.
- 1:03:52Speaker 10: Ulta.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: I got it. Your Ulta bad.
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: Billy Fora.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, Billy Fora. Okay, so what do I got here? Now,
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: I'm seeing the makeup that you have brought, and I
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: don't know what to do.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: Well, I just bring my makeup because I never know
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: what's going to happen.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: I've never done makeup.
- 1:04:06Speaker 3: We're going to have a meeting.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. What is this thing here?
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: It's some kind of contraption where it looks like an
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: eye clamper.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: That's an eyelash curler.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: And I got one hand.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I don't trust you with one hand eyelash curler.
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: So I can't curl your eyelashes?
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: I mean, you can if you're gentle, but don't rip
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: my eyelashes out.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: All right, I don't need that. I'm going to start
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: with this thing. And you went with Billy because he
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: had more girls than I have. Okay, cool. Yeah, well.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: He's had more ladies in his life in the last
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: while than our big makeup ladies.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Big makeup ladies. You know what I mean? Wow.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: If you want to see people get offended and roasted.
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: At Mix 1029 FM. Wait, what is this tool?
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: That's a lip pencil.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: Okay, I need to do this.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: I want to do this. Okay.
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: I'm going to go ahead and start with this.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Let's go ahead and start with. Do you do it
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: on the outside or on the inside?
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: Do you do it on the outside or inside?
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: This one you do wherever. Okay.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: I'm going to do out here.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Oh, my God. You guys.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: I'm going to give you some good news. No, this
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: is awful.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Oh, I hate you.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: I hate you.
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: Oh, God, that's my teeth. No, that looks good. Actually,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: you know what?
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: This is awful.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: No, it looks like you just got some lip implants.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: It looks like I just ate chocolate pudding.
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: Okay. Okay. Now, what is... Candace, I need something to
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: fill it in. I need lipstick. Yeah. Okay, I'm going
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: to go with this.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: That's not going to go well with that color, but.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: Yeah, when I blend it.
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: That's my favorite color, too. Be nice to that. Don't
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: drop it on the ground.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: How would I drop it on the ground?
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: I'm a master.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Oh, poor connection.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Okay, that's okay. We're live on the air. Oh, God.
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: This is actually kind of hard. Oh, look at that. Oh, God.
- 1:05:45Speaker 8: Oh, God.
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: Okay, I'm putting the lipstick on right now.
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: Oh, you're going to... He's a cold.
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: He's cold. Okay. That looks good.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: Your camera angle's awful, Pooh.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: No, it's not. I got it. You're not even seeing it, Pooh. Yes,
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: I am. I'm big. Okay.
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: Big makeup ladies, I was wrong.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: I'm not going to lie. I kind of messed that up.
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: You think?
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Y'all, did he mess this up?
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Okay. Get the fluffy thing. The fluffy thing. It looks
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: like a broom. Listen, I'm not finished, but you can
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: see this on. And so I'm going to get real serious.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: We have a poor connection. Guys, hang in there.
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: At Mix1029FM on Instagram. I'm going to finish there as
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: we do it live. But don't you worry, Candice. I'm
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: going to get you looking right.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Still in my eyebrows.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: Use that broom-looking thing, that fluffy thing. You got a
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: broom-looking thing? Yeah, use that.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: No, we're not.
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: Okay. Well, we're trying to go back live on Instagram.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: We will. Plus, we got some free gas coming up.
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: And I don't know. Candice.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: I might need to call in an expert after this. Uh-oh.
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:06:42Speaker 5: Kid in the Morning.
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: Only on the new Mix 102.9. We are live.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: On Instagram right now.
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: Hi.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: At Mix 102.9 FM. And Candace Lopez lost the Wheel
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: of Misfortune. I did her makeup.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: And I got to say, maybe it's the lighting. Yeah.
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: But it looked really good until you got in the light.
- 1:07:02Speaker 8: Well, yeah.
- 1:07:03Speaker 3: That's always the case.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Okay. I have a newfound respect for you ladies. who
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: do makeup, that is hard. Yeah.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: That's hard.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Well, either way, you can look at Mix 1029 FM
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: if you want a little glimpse. Candice Lopez, what is
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: going on?
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. I can't look at myself in that camera.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Okay. Why are you pointing it right at me? I
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: don't want to see myself.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: I'll point it at me.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Flip the camera around and then show me.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: Change your name.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: Also, I don't want to get you guys excited, but
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: I was just looking at the weather forecast.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: By next Sunday, we might have a high in the 80s.
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Okay? Come on. Stop lying.
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:07:36Speaker 3: The story was, though, U.S. broke the record for the
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: hottest summer ever this year.
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: Start laughing.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Okay, I'm not laughing at you. We're laughing with you.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: Okay, yeah.
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: We do have more chances to break records over the
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: next five days or so.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: Hotter than normal this weekend.
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: Some rain chances today, but less of a chance than yesterday.
- 1:07:53Speaker 7: So if you didn't get it yesterday, you're probably not
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: getting it today.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard there's a chance of eye line. Scattered
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: eye line.
- 1:07:57Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a 100% chance.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Okay, good.
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: Guys, Cowboys kicking off their NFL season Sunday night in
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: New York against the Giants. The game starts at 720.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: This is awful. You guys are just like trying.
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: Seriously, the way he did that eyeliner, you look like
- 1:08:14Speaker 6: you're ready to play football because it's like.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: You know how they put the looks like you already
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: played football. I've got two black eyes.
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I tried. OK, go ahead.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: You did try. I was just on the New York
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: Times playoff simulator.
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: So as of right now, the Cowboys have a forty
- 1:08:28Speaker 7: nine percent chance to make the playoffs.
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: So that's not bad.
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: It could go either way.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: I say it's 100% chance because it's our year, but
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: go ahead.
- 1:08:37Speaker 7: FYI, too, if you're not watching football Sunday night, CBS
- 1:08:40Speaker 7: actually has a Best of the VMAs Iconic Vanguard Performances.
- 1:08:44Speaker 7: It's hosted by Donnie Wahlberg and Vanessa Lachey.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Are you zooming in on me?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: I can see you. No, I'm not zooming. At Mix
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: 1029 FM live on Instagram.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: Getting ready for the MTV VMAs Sunday, September 27th, and
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: then guys, this sounds like fake news, but it's going viral.
- 1:09:03Speaker 7: Rox is releasing a candy corn perfume. It's called Ode
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: to Candy Corn, selling for $ 22 at candycornseason.com.
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: I hate candy corn, but I don't hate the way
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: it smells.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well, that's the point here.
- 1:09:16Speaker 7: The first release of this, September 22nd, and then they're
- 1:09:19Speaker 7: going to have another drop October 1st. So this is
- 1:09:22Speaker 7: for a 1.7 ounce bottle of perfume. They say it
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: swirls together. Notes of creamy vanilla. Stop zooming in on me.
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: You know what else swirls together?
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Creamy vanilla.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: That eyeliner.
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: And honey.
- 1:09:38Speaker 7: To capture the coziness of fall in every spray. If
- 1:09:42Speaker 7: you guys are on Instagram, I hope you're enjoying it
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: because I am mortified.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: I can't breathe. Zoom out.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: I know you got it zoomed in on me.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: No, I did not have it zoomed in. I wouldn't
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: lie to you. Thank you, Candice, for being a good sport.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: I mean, you lost fair and square. I did. You
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: did it.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: It is what it is.
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: You look great. I mean, I really think you look great. No, seriously.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: He did a good job. I'm like, kudos.
- 1:10:01Speaker 3: I'm going to put my hat back on at least.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: To have one hand and do it? Yeah, I mean, one-handed.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I mean... I use my strong hand, too. So you
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: look great.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: Look at this eye line. What is that? Nothing's supposed
- 1:10:13Speaker 3: to go there.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: No, but listen, I do a lot of art.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Just not on faces. When you're working with something similar
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: to makeup, like a pastel, for instance, usually you get
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: a chance to blend it. So I thought I was
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: going to be able to blend it.
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: But I didn't have a chance to blend. It's like
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: stopping Picasso mid-portrait. Okay. You couldn't do that. No, you
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: wouldn't do that. You wouldn't tell Michelangelo, hold up for
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: a second. No, I wouldn't.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: You guys enjoy this.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: But that's what she did to me, but go ahead. Yeah.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: About to pop off on the trivia.
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Oh, okay. I'm done.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez. Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 1:10:47Speaker 8: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 1:10:49Speaker 8: Morning on Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Dentistry.
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: Confess.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: 833-787-1029.
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: What is that dirty little secret?
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I have a secret from last Christmas that I
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: have never told a single person.
- 1:11:04Speaker 10: Oh.
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Not even my husband have I told this to because
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: it is honestly one of the most embarrassing things I
- 1:11:10Speaker 2: have ever done.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Oh, what happened? I love embarrassing.
- 1:11:15Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Yeah. Last year, my husband and I
- 1:11:18Speaker 2: went to this little Christmas party at one of his co-workers' houses.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: And it was my first time meeting a lot of
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: people he worked with. So obviously, I was trying to
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: make the best impression. Yeah. So everything was going great.
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: We were eating, drinking. I don't know. what I ate,
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: but suddenly my stomach started making noises I have never
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: heard come out of a human body before.
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: Oh, that's the worst ever.
- 1:11:49Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: When you're not home and that happens. Oh, my God.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: The bubbles. Oh, my God. Whatever.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I never have stomach problems. So whatever I ate
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: was just legit trying to kill me.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: And so I casually sneak off to the bathroom. And
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: after I was in there for way too long, the
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: absolute worst thing that can happen in somebody else's house
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: It happened to me.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: What?
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: I clogged the toilet.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: That is a legit fear of mine.
- 1:12:27Speaker 8: It is?
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I mean... Yes.
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: I mean.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: I co-logged it. So I'm just like... I'm panicking, right?
- 1:12:37Speaker 9: Because.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Yes, I've done it before. You have?
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Have you?
- 1:12:41Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: Oh, my God. So you know.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: It is an awful place to be. My anxiety, it
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: shot up. It only happened once. It was at a
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: friend's house that I knew. Not even like this situation.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: So you do start to panic.
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: For real. Yeah. So I'm freaking out. I'm looking everywhere
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: for a plunger, and there isn't one.
- 1:13:00Speaker 8: And I.
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: You know, like I thought about flushing it again, but
- 1:13:03Speaker 2: like the water was really high.
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you can't do that. Yeah.
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: No, I knew that if that toilet overflowed, I was
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: just going to have to move out of the state.
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: Then it goes down the hall.
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: The whole thing. If you flush it too many times,
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: if it's clogged, it'll overflow. And that's, oh boy.
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I just was like, there's no way I'm walking
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: out of this bathroom and admitting that this was me.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: So I looked over at the bathtub and there was
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: some kids' bath toys in it. And this is the
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: part that I'm really not proud of. I grabbed a
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: couple of those toys and I threw them in the toilet.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: I waited until I knew nobody was outside and I
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: just like got out of the bathroom and And I
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: immediately went, oh, my God, oh, no. And then I
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: found my husband's co-worker, and I said, I think one
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: of the kids threw some toys in the toilet and
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: clogged it.
- 1:14:07Speaker 8: Oh!
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, okay. That's brilliant. Yeah.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: He... He completely believed me. And he goes, oh, my God,
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: thank you for telling me. And he just, like, immediately
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: went in there to fix it.
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: That is so smart. It is. Oh, my God.
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: I mean, you know, desperate times there. So he actually
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: apologized to me.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: He had no idea.
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: And he's like there's another bathroom upstairs you can use
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: so i had to go upstairs and like pretend to
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: use the bathroom again just to keep the story going.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: I mean what a good i feel like you've done
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: this before i don't even think about that that's so
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: smart you see you blame it on the kids right
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: sure all these kids threw some bad toys down there
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: clogged the toilet Wasn't me.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: That poor kid just got blamed for absolutely destroying that toilet.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: Little Timmy is grounded for no reason.
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Had no gifts under the tree for Christmas.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: At least you didn't have to move out of state.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Yeah, but at least you got to... I know.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: I feel bad, but what am I going to do?
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Like, I can't... No, that's exactly... Forget that kid. That's
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: exactly what you should have done. Yeah, who cares? He's
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: probably a bad kid anyway.
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: Okay, we'll go with that.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I know a girl who clogged a toilet on the
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: first date. Went back to the guy's house. Had stomach issues.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Went to his restroom real quick thinking it won't be
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: a big deal. Clogged his whole toilet. On the first date.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: You don't recover from that. There's no second date. You're
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: getting ghosted. You know, he's thinking, first date and she's
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: just going to go in my house and just destroy it.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Destroy it? Blow up my toilet? Well, ma'am, thank you
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: so much for the confession. I hope you feel better.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: At least you got it off your chest. And you
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: also informed everybody on what to do if this happens. Yeah.
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: That's true. I hope it was a service.
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: It was a public service. Thank you so much. Just
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: blame it on the hood rat demon fetuses. Right. Well,
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: I know who's going to have a good weekend. It's
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: Mix 102.9. I'm peeling the kid, Candice Lopez. Producer Pooh
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: is here. We're about to get out of here, but
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: Candice got her makeup done by yours truly. And, I mean,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: Zan was so impressed, who's in the studio right now.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: Zan had a physical reaction. She did. Oh, my God.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: And I thought, yeah. It was more like, ah. No. Oh,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I thought that was an excitement of how great the
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: makeup looked.
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: This was more like a thrillvania kind of response.
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: And then I.
- 1:16:42Speaker 3: Came back in here and forgot what y'all had done.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: And I was equally shocked looking at her.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: I can't even look at her in the face right now.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Wow. It's so good. She can't even look at you
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: in the face. That's crazy.
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: I'm so intimidating.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: This is exactly what they said about Picasso and Van Gogh.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: They hated on it. All their artwork when they were
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: alive wasn't appreciated. Right. You know?
- 1:17:04Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: What are you saying?
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: Once I passed, people are going to look back at
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: this and go, he was revolutionary. Yeah.
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: In the makeup world.
- 1:17:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
