- 2:56to the Brief. In City Watch today, a reminder
- 2:59that sometimes the most important stories aren't
- 3:02about government, they're about people. Sacramento
- 3:05County is highlighting the remarkable journey
- 3:07of Brittany and Aaron Eason, a couple who opened
- 3:10their home to children in foster care more than
- 3:14a decade ago. What began with caring for a relative
- 3:18has grown into something extraordinary. They've
- 3:21now fostered more than 40 children and have adopted
- 3:24five. Their story offers a powerful look at the
- 3:27realities of foster children face. The loss of
- 3:31familiar routines, uncertainty of new surroundings,
- 3:34and the importance of simply feeling accepted.
- 3:37Today, nearly 900 children remain in. foster
- 3:41care throughout Sacramento County, and county
- 3:44leaders say there is an ongoing need for more
- 3:47family resources, especially those able to welcome
- 3:50sibling groups and teenagers. Even if becoming
- 3:54a foster parent isn't right for you, there's
- 3:57still meaningful ways you can help through programs
- 4:00like CASA, Gifts from the Heart, and other community
- 4:04organizations that support foster youth throughout
- 4:07the year. It's an inspiring reminder that sometimes
- 4:11the greatest gift you can give a child is simply
- 4:14a place where they feel they belong. And finally,
