- 0:25Now let's open our Bibles and study God's Word.
- 0:30Well, good evening, church. I'm Randy Schofield.
- 0:35I'm very blessed to serve in this church and be counted among
- 0:40the pastors and elders and the awesome team that we have here.
- 0:44And so can we just give the pastors and all the team here a
- 0:48quick thanks? You know, they don't ask for
- 0:57that, but they deserve it, I believe.
- 1:00And they work very hard. And so I also want to just say
- 1:05that I appreciate Pastor Ed giving me an opportunity to
- 1:08teach tonight. You know, we're very blessed to
- 1:13have a man like Pastor Ed who's spirit filled and really seeks
- 1:19after the Lord. So just really grateful for him.
- 1:23So let's, let's pray real quick. So Father, we just lift up this
- 1:29time as we open your word, we ask father that you would speak.
- 1:33It's not the messenger that's important, but the message.
- 1:37And we pray that your Holy Spirit would have its way here
- 1:41tonight. And we love you and praise you
- 1:43in the name of Jesus, Amen. So our our text tonight, our
- 1:48main text is going to be Colossians chapter 115 through
- 1:5422. So if you would go ahead and
- 1:57open up your Bibles and read along with me and we'll get
- 2:05started. Says he is the image of the
- 2:09invisible God, the first born over all creation.
- 2:14For by Him all things were created that are in heaven, that
- 2:18are on earth visible and invisible, whether Thrones or
- 2:23dominions or principles or powers.
- 2:26All things were created through Him and for Him.
- 2:32And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
- 2:38And He is the head of the body, the Church, who is the
- 2:43beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all things He
- 2:48may have preeminence. For it is for it pleased the
- 2:53Father that in Him all fullness should dwell, and by Him to
- 2:59reconcile all things to Himself, by him, whether things on earth
- 3:05or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His
- 3:10cross. And you who once were alienated
- 3:16an enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now he has
- 3:21reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present
- 3:27you holy and blameless and above reproach in his sight.
- 3:31And we have a great God, we really do.
- 3:35And he gives us a scripture to assure us and to reassure us of
- 3:38how good he is. And I tuttled this message
- 3:44tonight. God's goodness, our true
- 3:46reality, because I'm trying to give you a glimpse, just a
- 3:52little bitty tiny glimpse of how good God is and his goodness.
- 3:57And that's difficult sometimes because when we look at the
- 4:01world, we don't see that necessarily.
- 4:04What we see is we see a lot of horrible things.
- 4:07We see horrible things in the world.
- 4:09We see sometimes horrible things in our lives and we don't
- 4:18understand it, right? But there was a quote from
- 4:23Pastor Ed this weekend. It was, it was a truth.
- 4:26And that is Pastor Ed said, I quote, our circumstances only
- 4:32give us half truths, right? And that is it.
- 4:40Our circumstances only give us half truths because we're in
- 4:43those circumstances and all we can see is the pain and all we
- 4:47can see is what's going on around us.
- 4:51And who. Does anybody know what a rose
- 4:54colored glasses are? Right.
- 4:58Rose colored glasses, you know, basically if you don't know,
- 5:00it's kind of, you see the world through rose colored glasses.
- 5:04You're always cheery, you're always happy you got those
- 5:06glasses on. Doesn't matter what's going on.
- 5:08Well, most of the time what we have is we have world colored
- 5:12glasses and we're looking at the world through world colored
- 5:18glasses, but the Bible tells us that we need to have faith
- 5:23colored glasses on. Does that make sense to you
- 5:25guys? I'm going to ask that a lot, by
- 5:28the way. I do that.
- 5:29I do that when I teach Bible studies.
- 5:31I do that pretty much anything because I want to make sure I'm
- 5:33connecting and then just I guess it gives me comfort.
- 5:38So, but imagine with me, if you will, and you guys ever see a
- 5:44Twilight Zone? Anybody ever see Twilight Zone?
- 5:47There was Rod Steiger. And he'd go imagine with me,
- 5:50will, if you will, or something like that, right.
- 5:52And, and but imagine with me that you had never seen a train.
- 5:58OK, You've never seen a train. And then someone's going to show
- 6:01you a train and they show you this gob of steel, this
- 6:08disorder, this chaos. And what they're really showing
- 6:10you is a train wreck. And you're seeing this train
- 6:15wreck and you're going, what in the world?
- 6:17Why would anybody ever make a train?
- 6:20Why would they make this mess, right?
- 6:24Well, you, so you guys got that picture.
- 6:30That's our world, right? God didn't make the world like
- 6:34this, but the world's a train wreck now.
- 6:38And the reason the world's a train wreck is through our free
- 6:42will choices. That's me, that's you.
- 6:47That's people that come before us, starting with Adam and Eve.
- 6:51And when Adam and Eve chose to disobey God, and when they chose
- 6:57to eat from the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, what
- 7:02they chose was chaos. Really.
- 7:06They chose death. Does that make sense to you
- 7:10guys? You with me?
- 7:12OK, and so but we and so we see this world and and we see the
- 7:21message send and that's our world colored glasses, right?
- 7:27But the like I said, the Bible tells us that we need to look at
- 7:30the world through faith colored glasses and and as a matter of
- 7:34fact, why don't you turn there real quick.
- 7:35It's in Romans chapter 12 verse 2.
- 7:50And it says do not be conformed to this world, but be
- 7:54transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove
- 7:58what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God, right?
- 8:05See, when we have to choose something right in our lives and
- 8:11we're either going to choose our flesh or we're going to choose
- 8:15faith, right? So basically, we're going to put
- 8:18on the Rose color that not the Rose color glasses, but the
- 8:22glasses of the world or we're going to put on the glasses of
- 8:25faith. And that's not just a daily
- 8:29choice. It's a moment by moment choice,
- 8:33right? And it takes a lot of training
- 8:36to train our minds away from the world and into faith.
- 8:44OK, so I love reading God's word.
- 8:50When I read it, there are a few things that I keep in mind,
- 8:54right? And I want to ask you to keep
- 8:56this in mind tonight, right? And that is one is God is good.
- 9:01Amen. And he's not good some of the
- 9:04time. He's good all the time, right?
- 9:08So you guys got that. Not good some of the time, but
- 9:11all the time. Second thing is the Bible is
- 9:15true, not some of it, but all of it from the very beginning of
- 9:22Genesis to the very end of Revelation.
- 9:25Cool. The third thing is, and this is
- 9:30the one that kind of gets me sometimes the Bible is true over
- 9:37anything I think over anything you think and over our emotions
- 9:48because our emotions are what gets in trouble, right?
- 9:51A lot of times we get emotional about something we have stopped
- 9:54thinking and but that's the truth is, and it's also over
- 10:01anything we've learned. If there's anything that you
- 10:03think or anything that you've learned that disagrees with the
- 10:09Bible, well, guess what? Guess which one's true?
- 10:14The Bible always, right? And one last thing is that
- 10:20there's something that I find that I don't understand.
- 10:24I go back to what I do understand in the Bible.
- 10:29Does that make sense to you guys?
- 10:31All right, so let's get into the text.
- 10:34Let's let's look at it. So verse 15, he is the image of
- 10:39the invisible God, the first born of all creation.
- 10:43And so Jesus is the creator, all right, He created everything and
- 10:47every dimension. There's nothing that he didn't
- 10:50create. That's he's God, right?
- 10:54And so turn to John chapter one. You guys can just look at this
- 11:01and read it with me short verses, but we're going to read
- 11:06one through 3. And I'm trying to not read too
- 11:14quick so I know where these verses are.
- 11:16And I got them all here. And you guys are turning and I'm
- 11:18like reading and you guys are wow.
- 11:21So sorry if I do that to you, I'll try to slow down on that.
- 11:26But it says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with
- 11:31God and the Word was God, and he was in the beginning with God.
- 11:40And so Jesus is Lord, He is the King, He is everything, He is
- 11:45God, He is the actual creator, right?
- 11:51And it's very important to know that and to understand it,
- 11:55because establishing who Jesus is, that he is God himself,
- 12:02establishes everything else, right?
- 12:06Because when you know who Jesus is, then you know who to follow,
- 12:10you know who to listen to. OK.
- 12:16So it's very interesting. I find that if you look in
- 12:20there, if you read all the Gospels, you don't find one
- 12:23really. You don't find one description
- 12:25of what Jesus looked like and say, well, he had brown hair and
- 12:29he was about 65. And he, you know, he don't give
- 12:32you anything, right? They tell you he was a
- 12:35Carpenter. They tell you that he did a lot
- 12:40of good works, right? He did miracles.
- 12:44He did all these things and all of his actions were amazingly
- 12:48good. You know why they were amazingly
- 12:52good? Because that's who God is.
- 12:55He's amazingly good and he's without sin.
- 13:01Verse 16 in Colossians says For by him all things were created
- 13:08that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible,
- 13:13whether Thrones or dominions or principal pallities or powers,
- 13:20all things were created through him and for him.
- 13:24So he created everything and everything was created for him.
- 13:28And and so it also tells us that there are worlds out there
- 13:32because it talks about different realms there that we can't see.
- 13:36One of them is the angelic realm and 2nd Kings.
- 13:42You don't need to turn there but in second Kings chapter 2 and
- 13:47verse 11, Elijah was with Elijah and they were talking and all of
- 13:56a sudden a whirlwind came up and separated them and Elijah saw
- 14:02that Elijah was had gotten on a chariot of fire and was whirled
- 14:08away. You know, I, I believe after
- 14:13reading Kings and reading about Elijah, that Elijah had a
- 14:17special gift, right? And that gift was to be able to
- 14:20see the angelic realm. Not everybody can see that,
- 14:25right? As a matter of fact, there were
- 14:26other prophets that were around there and they saw the whirlwind
- 14:31and they said they came up and they told him, Hey, you know
- 14:33this, this is taking away your master.
- 14:35Let's go look for him. And he said, we'll go look if
- 14:38you want. But you know, I know what
- 14:39happened to him. And, and they went and looked
- 14:42and he came back and he said, I told you, right.
- 14:45Later he was surrounded by an army and his servant got up and
- 14:48saw the army and, and panicked and, and he was like, what do we
- 14:54do? And and he was like, Lord, open
- 14:57his eyes so he can see and he sees all these Chariots of fire
- 15:00all around him. See, Elijah had an ability to
- 15:03see the angelic realm. I've never met anybody who has
- 15:09that gift. I don't have that gift.
- 15:11I'd love to see it, right? But I know it's real because I
- 15:15know that there are times when things are not going on that are
- 15:20what I want. You know what need to be going
- 15:21on. And I start praying and it
- 15:23immediately changes so that, you know, I, I firmly believe that
- 15:29there's a battle that's going on around us that we can't see.
- 15:35And our prayer, our prayers change things when we're praying
- 15:40in the will of the Father, right?
- 15:44I can tell you, I've seen that happen right here in this church
- 15:48where there's been people that, you know, just kind of acting a
- 15:52little off. And we get together and pray for
- 15:55him. Not we don't ever even talk to
- 15:57him. We're just saying that, yeah,
- 15:59he's looking a little weird, you know?
- 16:00And and so we pray for him and all of a sudden they change
- 16:04their behavior, right? It happens every time.
- 16:09So God is so good to us that he listens to our prayers those.
- 16:21So it's not just that, but you know, there are Thrones, there's
- 16:25kingdoms, there's rulers, there's authorities in an unseen
- 16:28world. That's what we've been talking
- 16:29about. And in this unseen world,
- 16:31there's battles raging on. That's what we're talking about,
- 16:33right? And so therefore in Ephesians,
- 16:37so turn to Ephesians chapter 6. I was joking with my wife, by
- 16:46the way, and I, she's down in the nursery and I told her
- 16:49tonight before service, I was like, well, you know, who's
- 16:53teaching tonight? So we'll, we'll probably get out
- 16:56early. She goes, yeah, I know who's
- 16:58teaching tonight. I don't know if we're getting
- 17:00out early or not. She was only kidding me.
- 17:06But you know. So Ephesians 6 and then ten
- 17:12through 12, it says, finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord
- 17:18and in the power of His might. You know, the power of His might
- 17:22is His Holy Spirit. We need to be powerful in this
- 17:25Holy Spirit. We need to be prayed up, and we
- 17:27need to be full of His Spirit. It's what the Bible tells us,
- 17:30right? It says, put on the whole armor
- 17:32of God that you may be able to withstand the Wiles of the
- 17:35devil. For we do not wrestle against
- 17:38flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers,
- 17:42against the rulers of the dark age, against the spiritual host
- 17:46of wickedness in heavenly places, right?
- 17:51And so if you're not familiar with the armor, well, it's the
- 17:55next, you know, it's up to from 12 to 18 basically, right?
- 17:59So I would advise you to get that, you know, putting on the
- 18:03helmet of salvation, right, the breastplate of righteousness,
- 18:09putting on the belt of truth, shooting your feet with a piece
- 18:13of Goth, the gospel of peace, right?
- 18:16And and having your sword, which is the word of God.
- 18:23So I would study those, I would learn those, I would put them on
- 18:26every day. That's what I do.
- 18:31And next is you were created for a purpose.
- 18:33That's the last part of these verses here, right?
- 18:35You were created for a purpose. Jesus is your purpose.
- 18:41That's why you were created was to worship Jesus.
- 18:48No matter what's happening in your life, if you have Jesus,
- 18:51you have everything that you need.
- 18:53And the reason you have everything that you need, it's
- 18:55because Jesus is life. Jesus is life itself, right?
- 19:01We are full of life. If you're a believer, you have
- 19:06life inside of you. You are full of life.
- 19:09You are full of his Holy Spirit because you have Jesus.
- 19:14If you don't have Jesus, you don't have life.
- 19:20You might say, well, what are you talking about?
- 19:25I don't have life. Well, you don't have life.
- 19:29You're not born again inside you're dead.
- 19:32You may look like you're alive on the outside, but on the
- 19:35inside you're dead. That's what the Bible says and
- 19:40we're going to talk about that in a minute.
- 19:43John four one verse four says in him was life and life and the
- 19:49life was the light of men. John 1010 says the thief does
- 19:55not come except to steal, to kill, to destroy.
- 20:00I have come that they might have life and they might have it more
- 20:03abundantly. Isn't that cool?
- 20:05If you have Jesus, you know, only just have life, you have it
- 20:08abundantly. I think that's awesome.
- 20:14Verse 17 of Colossians. It says He is before all things
- 20:19and in all things. In Him all things consist.
- 20:28So after this, if Jesus is holding everything together,
- 20:32He's holding this universe together.
- 20:34He's ever been holding everything that has ever been
- 20:36made together. If He didn't hold this together,
- 20:40it would all fall apart, period. Just like my life.
- 20:46If he didn't hold my life together, it would fall apart.
- 20:50And if he didn't hold your life together, it would fall apart.
- 20:55Who? Who's I've been there?
- 20:58Who's been there? Yeah.
- 21:08I just want you to take a second.
- 21:09Think about how big the universe is.
- 21:13Does anybody know how what they measure, what they say the
- 21:16measurement of the universe is across?
- 21:19I don't know how they measure it, but but they say that it's
- 21:2346 billion light years across, right?
- 21:28Light travels at 186,000 miles per second miles.
- 21:41You know, I was in the Army for a long time.
- 21:43We had these. I was on the Abrams, the M1A1
- 21:47tanks and our main gun is 120mm, right?
- 21:52And this gun when you fire it, the round and it's a sabo round
- 21:57actually goes one mile per second, right?
- 22:02It's pretty fast. I mean, it's amazingly fast.
- 22:05And and when you see that you're like, wow.
- 22:10And but think about when you turn on a light switch, how fast
- 22:14is that, right? 186,000 feet or miles per second
- 22:24right? Now think about this.
- 22:28God is in all that. There's no part of the universe
- 22:33that he's not because he's infinite.
- 22:35He created it. He's in every every nook and
- 22:38cranny of the universe. Isn't that amazing?
- 22:42You want to tell you what's even more amazing?
- 22:47What's more amazing is that he knows your name.
- 22:55What's more amazing is that he cares for you.
- 23:00What's more amazing is that he's working all things together for
- 23:04good. And that means everything in my
- 23:06life. Everything in your life, good
- 23:08and bad. He's all weaving it all together
- 23:11for good. He didn't say everything was
- 23:13good, but he's weaving it all together for good.
- 23:17Isn't that amazing? I mean, that's how we have a God
- 23:22that's that big that's in the universe like that.
- 23:24And then we have a God that cares about us so much that in
- 23:28First Peter, go ahead and turn there.
- 23:33First Peter, First Peter 5, First Peter chapter 5.
- 23:44First Peter chapter 5 verse 7, not only does not only does
- 23:57Jesus know your name, but he says casting all of your care
- 24:04upon him because he cares for you.
- 24:08He cares for me. That blows me away.
- 24:18And Psalm 37, verse 23, the New Living Translation says the Lord
- 24:24directs the steps of the godly and He directs every detail of
- 24:30their lives. He cares for you.
- 24:35He's deeply interested in you. His thoughts about you are more
- 24:39than the grains of sand, and every one of those are good.
- 24:45He has good thoughts towards you.
- 24:47He doesn't have bad thoughts towards you.
- 24:49He doesn't have bad thoughts towards me.
- 24:51I'm so glad. I'm so glad.
- 24:57Let's go on to verse 18 of Colossians.
- 25:03And he is the head of the body, the church who is the beginning,
- 25:07the first born from the dead, that in all things he may have
- 25:12preeminence. You know, I don't know if you
- 25:16ever thought about this, but everybody that's ever risen from
- 25:21the dead. I mean, like, like when Jesus
- 25:25pulled Lazarus out of the out of death, right when Jesus met the
- 25:30widow who had a son that were coming out of the city and he,
- 25:35he brought that guy back to life.
- 25:38The guy that Elijah laid the kid that Elijah laid him or Elijah
- 25:43laid hands on the young man that was sitting in the window when
- 25:50Paul was preaching and fell and, and, and Paul went down and laid
- 25:53hands on him and he came back to life.
- 25:56Dorcas, all of those people died again.
- 26:02All of them 100% right? You know who didn't die again?
- 26:09Jesus. Jesus rose from the dead.
- 26:11He didn't have to have somebody lay hands on him.
- 26:14He came back and he came back and he is the first born of the
- 26:20dead. He is the first born from the
- 26:25from the dead, and he's alive. He will never die.
- 26:29And that's the promise for us that we will one day join him.
- 26:34We will leave this tent. This body is often referred to
- 26:40in the Bible as a tent, you know, because a tent is
- 26:43something that you don't want to stay in forever, right?
- 26:48When I was young, I thought I could do everything.
- 26:51I could run fast, I could do all kinds of stuff.
- 26:54Now my knees hurt, my elbows hurt, my back hurts.
- 26:58Sometimes my feet hurt, my head hurts.
- 27:02Is there anything that really doesn't hurt?
- 27:04No, I don't know. My hands hurt.
- 27:05I mean, everything hurts, right? As I get older and it's just a,
- 27:09it's just a fact because when I live in a tent, you know, that
- 27:14tent wears out, right? You don't want to stay there
- 27:17forever. It's just, it's an
- 27:20accommodation, but it's not the greatest one.
- 27:23But one day we're going to move up, right?
- 27:26We're going to be with Jesus and then we're going to get a brand
- 27:29new body. And it's going to be so good
- 27:33because it isn't going to have all these defects that I have,
- 27:35all these defects you have. And it's not going to have all
- 27:38the problems you have. And you know why that's going to
- 27:43be true? Because God is good, because he
- 27:47loves you, He cares for you, He wants the best for you because
- 27:52you are his child. And so and not only that, it's
- 28:07not only that he did he rise from the dead and everything,
- 28:11but you just have to know that he is the not just a way, but he
- 28:16is the only way. He is the only way, right?
- 28:23John 14 six Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the
- 28:28life, and no one comes to the Father except through me.
- 28:34Verse 19 says it for it please the Father, that in Him all the
- 28:40fullness should dwell. He is everything we need, and
- 28:44immeasurably more than we need, right?
- 28:48He is more than we need, but we have to rely on Him.
- 28:54In Ephesians 320, it says now to Him who is able to do
- 28:59exceedingly, abundantly above all, we ask or think according
- 29:05to the power that works in US. And what is that power?
- 29:11The Holy Spirit, Right. The Holy Spirit is who is
- 29:14working inside of us and who is the Holy Spirit?
- 29:16It's God's Spirit. Jesus sent his Spirit to be with
- 29:21us as a guarantee that we're of our salvation.
- 29:26That's why he sent us here, or that's why he sent him here to
- 29:30be in us as a guarantee of our salvation.
- 29:34You guys get that? Yeah.
- 29:37All right, so now verse 20 and by him to reconcile all things
- 29:47to himself by himself, whether things on earth or things in
- 29:55heaven, having made peace through the blood of his cross.
- 30:01You know, when Adam traded, got a given Adam everything on this
- 30:11earth, he had given him ownership, right?
- 30:14He had given it all to Adam and said you manage it.
- 30:20And when the devil came along and tripped Eve and Adam
- 30:24willingly went along, he gave all that ownership over to the
- 30:29devil and everything was lost. That's why we have the mess we
- 30:36have, right? Because of our choices, again,
- 30:39our free will choices we made. But when Jesus went to the
- 30:46cross, when he did what he did on the cross and he said it was
- 30:56finished, he redeemed it all. He bought it back and He's not
- 31:08constrained by time, so he knew what was going to happen the
- 31:12whole time. Revelations 18 says that he is
- 31:15the beginning and the end. So he knows the beginning or the
- 31:19end, just like the beginning, right?
- 31:24So in verse 21, it says now you were once alienated and enemies
- 31:29in your mind by wicked works. Yet now he has reconciled.
- 31:36And what that means is he's redeemed you.
- 31:39He if you're a believer, he is he paid the price.
- 31:43He bought you back, you know, and and to understand how good
- 31:50God is is really to begin to understand how corrupt we are,
- 31:58right? Because when it wasn't until I
- 32:01started getting next to Jesus that I started understanding
- 32:06that I was jacked up, right? And that I needed a savior.
- 32:13It wasn't until I started getting next Jesus,
- 32:15understanding who Jesus was, that I realized that I was just
- 32:21a Sinner. And I mean bad, just like you,
- 32:30right? Just like you.
- 32:33And you might be arguing with me right now.
- 32:35I'm not a bad ass. Well, let me ask you a few
- 32:37questions. Have you ever lied even once?
- 32:43Have you ever stolen anything? Have you ever looked at
- 32:49something you shouldn't have looked at?
- 32:55Have you ever gotten drunk? How about high?
- 32:58It's legal now, right? But you've lost control of your
- 33:01mind, regardless of whether it's legal or not.
- 33:05Drinking is legal too. How about pride?
- 33:10You ever been proud? I'm not accusing you, I'm just
- 33:18saying facts, right? But if you've done any of those
- 33:21things, but maybe you haven't done any of those things, but
- 33:24have you thought those things and desired those things in your
- 33:28heart? Jesus says that what you desire
- 33:31in your heart, it's the same deal, right?
- 33:41In Genesis chapter 8 verse 21, it says the Lord smelled.
- 33:48That's back in. This is all the way back in
- 33:50Genesis, right? It says the Lord smelled a
- 33:52soothing aroma because Noah had made an offering to him.
- 33:56And it says, Then the Lord said in his heart, I will never again
- 34:00curse the ground for man's sake, although the imagination of
- 34:06man's heart is evil from his youth.
- 34:08Nor will I again destroy every living thing as I've done.
- 34:12This was right after the flood, and the world had become so evil
- 34:16that God destroyed it, except for Noah and his family and all
- 34:20the animals. It's a sad thing, right, that we
- 34:30become so corrupt that we become so evil and there's not a good
- 34:34thing in US. Romans 323 says for all of
- 34:41sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and according to
- 34:47Romans 623 for the wages of sins, death, but the gift of God
- 34:53is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- 34:59So we're totally corrupt. There's nothing good in US,
- 35:04right? And yet all the money in the
- 35:09world, all the gold, all the dollars, all the yen,
- 35:18everything, if you brought all of it together, it wouldn't buy
- 35:22the redemption of one person, right?
- 35:28Nothing in this world could buy your salvation except for one
- 35:36thing. And it says, For God so loved
- 35:42the world, John 316 and 17 For God so loved the world that he
- 35:46gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should
- 35:50not perish, but have everlasting life.
- 35:52For God did not send this world, send His Son into the world to
- 35:59condemn the world, but that the world through him might be
- 36:02saved. See, only the blood of Jesus
- 36:08could pay for the redemption. That is what a high price God
- 36:13put on you and me. Not amazing that He holds such
- 36:21about us and such value that only the blood of His Son could
- 36:27redeem us and buy us back from the slavery of sin and death.
- 36:38So let me ask you, I know a lot of you have already accepted
- 36:44Jesus and know Him and know his salvation, right?
- 36:50But maybe there's somebody here tonight that doesn't.
- 36:56And I would ask you to, to receive him as Lord, that
- 37:04feeling that you got inside. Maybe maybe it's like, you know,
- 37:10I, I feel an urge, but I'm not going up there.
- 37:14I'm not doing this. I'm not not going to stand up.
- 37:17I'm not going to. I'm not no.
- 37:19And I'm, I know that feeling because when I was a kid, I was
- 37:21about 13, I went to church and I was standing up in the balcony
- 37:26and they gave an invitation. And I remember gripping the
- 37:29chair. I was like, oh, no, I'm not
- 37:33going to be one of those religious guys, right?
- 37:38And I'm not, I'm not a religious guy.
- 37:40I'm a Jesus guy. I follow Jesus, right?
- 37:45I'm a child of the most high God, right?
- 37:50And I'm loved by him and I walk with him and I talk with him
- 37:55daily because of a relationship with him.
- 38:01And I'm loved by him and I and you know what?
- 38:04He loves you when it says for God so loved the world that was
- 38:09you he's talking about. He might have the word, the word
- 38:16world in there, but really I just replaced that with Randy.
- 38:27So if you've never accepted Jesus, I want to give you an
- 38:29opportunity. Would you just stand up and
- 38:37we'll pray a prayer? Then it might be that it's
- 38:40somebody on the radio, might be somebody that's listening to
- 38:44this in the future, might be somebody downstairs.
- 38:49But we'll wait a minute and I just want to tell you that God
- 38:56loves you. He cares for you, He has the
- 39:00best in store for you, but He is not going to force you to choose
- 39:06him because that wouldn't be love.
- 39:09And God is love. All right, so let's pray.
- 39:17So Father, we thank you for your goodness, we thank you for your
- 39:21kindness, for your mercies, Lord, and we thank you for your
- 39:26joy. And Father, I just, if there's
- 39:31anybody out there that needs to ask Jesus in their life, Lord,
- 39:35I, I pray and just ask him to pray with me.
- 39:38Father, I Lord Jesus, I ask you, forgive me in my sins.
- 39:43I ask you to come into my life and be Lord.
- 39:47I will follow you all the days of my life.
- 39:51Thank you for loving me. And Lord we praise you and we
- 39:55thank you in the name of Jesus, Amen.
- 39:59So in verse 22, we got one verse left.
- 40:02That was the verse 21. It says, I'm just going to read
- 40:06the new living translation. It says, Yet now he has
- 40:11reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in
- 40:16his physical body, and as a result.
- 40:19He has brought you into his own presence and you are holy and
- 40:25blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.
- 40:31Did you hear that? Without a single fault?
- 40:35That's really blows me away because I'm like, when I look at
- 40:38it, I'm like, yeah, I know me, right?
- 40:44I know every fault. Well, I think I do.
- 40:47God knows more, but you know, I, I know that I got, I got issues
- 40:52still, right? I'm not perfect.
- 40:55And he's telling me that I'm going to stand before him
- 40:58without a single fault. See, that's how God sees us.
- 41:04That's how God sees you and that's how God sees me.
- 41:08And he loves you so much that he would do that, that he would
- 41:12make it like that so that you could stand before him without a
- 41:16single fault. And again, I just think if you
- 41:20feel that tug, that's the Holy Spirit speaking to you.
- 41:25That's not me. It's not somebody else up here,
- 41:27that's the Holy Spirit. And I would just encourage you
- 41:31to come on up after the service, after, after the music is come
- 41:35up. There will be pastors up here
- 41:38and they have a gift for you and you just talk with them and they
- 41:43would help you. So let's just pray and thank
- 41:47God. So Lord, we thank you for your
- 41:49goodness. We thank you for your kindness.
- 41:51We thank you, Lord, that you saved us.
- 41:54And Lord, just amazingly, that we would one day stand before
- 41:57you without a single fault. And we just lay this all down
- 42:02before you, and we praise you in the name of Jesus, Amen.
