- 0:15SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to another episode of the Fantasy Fumble.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: It is your host, Manny James, over here coming at you with Joe the Birdman.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: Joe, how the hell are you doing today, brother?
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: I'm doing great, Manny.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: I've had an awesome fantasy football week.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: All my teams that are looking good looked great last week.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Of course, in the Champions League, I got another loss.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: One more, and I am done in your Champions League.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: But every other league, man, I am looking rock solid.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: So I'm I'm all right with that.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: How about you?
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: You know that Champions League, I'm there on the edge.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: I'm doing pretty good.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: I'm on the uptick now.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: My players that are injured, obviously, I've I've gotten bit by the injury apocalypse.
- 0:59SPEAKER_01: And uh, you know, it's it's it's been some bounce back.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: So now, you know, I should I should be getting some players back, which you'll go over here in a moment.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: But um, yeah, I've I like my chances, and that Champions League is pretty competitive, but good thing is I get to uh play one of the uh six and one guys this week, and my team is gonna absolutely destroy him.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So man, that'd be nice.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: I hope so.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: That's gonna put me at at at even for my record.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: But other than that, all my other teams are doing pretty solid.
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm pretty happy with the the lineups.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: Most of them I'm running uh a collage of Josh Jacobs, Jonathan Taylor's, Brees Hall combination.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: So, you know, the only alteration would be like uh some leagues I had like uh Kenneth Kenneth Walker in there as well.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Kenneth Walker's been a pleasant surprise.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I guess he didn't surprise too many people, but he surprised me.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's uh he I think he's a great back, he just can't stay healthy.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: That was his problem, you know.
- 2:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: And him and James Connor are both looking rock solid so far.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: Uh always been healthy.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: But yeah, we do have uh we do have a lot to get into, as you mentioned, and we'll get into all that.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: But first, a word from our sponsor.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Hey there.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: My name is Manny James Gonzalez with PRB, and I'm a real estate agent here in Central Florida.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: I'm a U.S.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: Navy veteran, military relocation pro, and big supporter of 2A and veterans' rights.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: My specialty is VA Transactions, most experience in all parts of real estate.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: I've been living in Florida for over 20 years, and I can tell you we still believe in freedom down here.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: One of the greatest job markets, excellent economy, and no state income tax.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: When it comes to an agent, you want one that's gonna be honest, not afraid of a fight, and most importantly, willing to do the things that some agents aren't willing to do.
- 2:58SPEAKER_01: And what's that, Manny?
- 3:00SPEAKER_01: Two straight hands.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: If you ever consider buying in Central Florida, you need somebody you can trust, and I got your six.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: Find land for the free and home for the brave.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: So let's get into our news and notes.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: Tua is back on the field.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Who knows if we can expect much from him this week?
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I wouldn't personally.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Uh but Tyler Huntley's also a little banged up, so they might have to just stick him in there and start him this week.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: See what he can do.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: But I I would think that they're gonna ease him back into a full workload, but who knows, man?
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: They might just say two or get going.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: And also Puka Nakua is back at practice.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Uh they opened that 21-day window for him.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: DeAndre Hopkins was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, which I did not expect.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: And um, some unfortunate news.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: Godwin is out for the season, a gruesome injury last week, and he has been the best wide receiver in the NFL this year, so that was tough.
- 4:28SPEAKER_00: And Evans is gonna miss some time too.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: So that dominance that Baker Mayfield has had might slow down.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: In addition to Evans and Godwin, the injury apocalypse wrapped up quite a few other players this weekend.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: And there are a lot of people that did not practice on Wednesday.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna run down that list right now for running backs: Kenneth Walker, Ramondre Stevenson, Bucky Irving, and Jerome Ford.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Now the injury apocalypse, injury apocalypse really swept up the wide receivers.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: Debo, Juwan Jennings, DK Metcalf, Ladd McConkey, Quentin Johnston, Juju, Calvin Ridley, Alan Lazard, Zay Flowers, Jordan Whittington, Michael Pittman Jr., Josh Downs, and Deontay Johnson all did not practice on Wednesday.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: So if you have any of those guys, keep a close eye on them.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: And then for tight end, we got George Kittle, Dallas Goddard, and a non-injury related one, Zach Ertz.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: Not sure why he didn't practice today.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: Then at quarterback, it's possible that Jaden Daniels misses this week.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: He did not practice today.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Derek Carr did not practice.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: As I mentioned earlier, Tyler Huntley did not practice, which means the Miami Dolphins may just roll with Tua the entire game.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: And Andy Dalton with a thumb injury.
- 5:53SPEAKER_00: I don't think you'd be starting most of those guys I listed at the end, but obviously you got to make plans for Jaden Daniels if you had him as your starter.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: And with injuries comes spot starts, right?
- 6:06SPEAKER_01: Players that you got to put in a punch, uh in a pinch, excuse me.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Um, and I wrote down some notable names, of course, that you could look at the waiver wire.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: Um in regards to a lot of those players, though, if they're not mentioned most of the time, there's not really someone that you would play in their place.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: You know, there's not a player that would take their workload or has a talent to step in and produce at the same level or even at a flex level, right?
- 6:32SPEAKER_01: So some of those players may get lucky, but who's gonna who would know that Michael Nikini Westbrook was gonna get those touchdowns over the last couple weeks for the Titans, right?
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, that's that's just you know what it is.
- 6:47SPEAKER_01: So uh when it comes to spot starts though, um, these are some good players.
- 6:52SPEAKER_01: I think you should have already scooped up if you're watching this.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Um Jalen McMillan obviously should be the top waiver wire ad for the Buccaneers.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Uh rookie out of uh Washington, he's looked great this year and limited snaps.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: And uh he's gonna really take that Mike Mike Evans role, and then Sterling Shepard's gonna take the Godwin role.
- 7:13SPEAKER_01: So those are what I figured, yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: And it, you know, if you if you looked at Sterling over you know his history, he's he's had a pretty solid career.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: And um Jalen McMillan got eight uh eight targets last week after uh the two other guys went out.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: So yeah, uh, and that's and and I think that's what you you should focus on is like what that offense is gonna look like now with them gone.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Because even though even if Jalen takes over that Chris, you know, that Mike Evans role, you know, what happens is they're just gonna put him in a Chris Godwin role when Evans comes back, you know.
- 7:49SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna go from that, they're gonna move uh Sterling Shepard back to the slot, you know, so they're gonna move that around.
- 7:55SPEAKER_01: But one thing I can tell you with the Buccaneers, the that is talent that has the availability to be able to stay, you know, and produce at a high level.
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: Uh, a lot of people have questions about Sterling Shepard's injury history um and to stay healthy, but I could tell you that I too was one of those persons.
- 8:15SPEAKER_01: But one thing that people need to realize both the times he got hurt, his ACL and his Achilles were both at MetLife Stadium in his home field.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: He's gonna stay healthy as long as he's not playing on a turf, hopefully, you know, crossing your fingers, and and you just need him for a few weeks.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: So pick him up, take a flyer on him, especially if you have injuries.
- 8:35SPEAKER_01: He's a great start.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Those guys are gonna be good for the next few weeks, but don't bank on it being a long-term thing.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: That's all I can say.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and one thing I I don't the chances are he's not available, but he's allegedly still available according to ESPN.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: He's still available in over 50% of leagues, is Kate Otten.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: And I think he's gonna be a monster, not just in the short term, but probably for the rest of the season, because his production was going up uh a lot more from last year.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And the last four weeks before his blow-up game, he looked great, and then he had that hundred-yard game last week.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: And I think in the absence of uh uh Godwin and Evans, the workload is gonna be split between McMillan and K Dotten.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and you did a player profile on him as well, didn't you?
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and and the thing is though, you're saying all the right things as far as the wide receiver court.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: You know, you've got an established player in Sterling Shepard who has been good throughout his career.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: He's been solid, he's had some huge weeks, and I think between those two, they can keep the offense moving.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying you got to turn the volume down a little bit with Baker.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna be getting these games that are quite as big, but he still can be a solid quarterback, there's no doubt.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: Now, some other weaver wire ads that I would look at.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Obviously, the 49ers you mentioned were decimated by injuries, right?
- 9:58SPEAKER_01: Ayuk for the season.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Um, I actually forgot to mention Ayuk.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, in my in my in my uh news, I forgot to mention Ayuk.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's all right.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: I know it happened like the the the game up, so most people you know knew about it just for those new users that weren't aware.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: Ayuk did tear his ACL, uh, so he's out for the season.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: Debo's, of course, hurt again.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: So, you know, what does that mean?
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: There the two rookies have to step up.
- 10:25SPEAKER_01: So actually, Ricky Pearsall, everyone expected him to come in.
- 10:28SPEAKER_01: So he's been like one of the top waiver wire ads this this this upcoming you know morning.
- 10:34SPEAKER_01: Uh, but another name that people aren't really don't have on the radar is Jacob Cowling.
- 10:40SPEAKER_01: Uh he was actually like I was watching the game when they went down, and Jacob Cowling was actually running the IU role, and I like what I saw.
- 10:50SPEAKER_01: He was stretching the field, he was making tough contested catches, and he only had two, two, he had three looks and two receptions.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: But from what I saw, he he looked pretty, he didn't look like he had nerves at all.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: So you're gonna see Pearsall getting worked in the offense for sure and getting a lot of those short passes and dump offs and everything like that.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: But expect a lot of those Brandon Ayuk type passes to him.
- 11:14SPEAKER_01: So I would stash him if you're in a really deep league, uh, 12 or more league.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: But if you're if you know you're looking at just a regular, you know, 10-man or under, I wouldn't even recommend wasting a roster spot for him.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: And another guy that may have been dropped in the last couple weeks, it's very likely in half my leagues he was dropped is Juwan Jennings.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: So if you're able to grab him, he is he is still banged up right now.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: He might not play this week, but long term for like the rest of the season, I think he's a great ad.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: And at the very minimum, if you got a spot on your bench, just hold him and see what he does over the next few weeks.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: But I think he's gonna be very involved.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, very good involved.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Now let's get into our hot matchups of the week, Manny.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: Uh, for my hot matchup, I am going with the Eagles, your Eagles versus the Bengals.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: I think the formula is pretty simple on this one.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Both teams have a high-powered offense and a suspect defense.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: Um, the Bengals are slightly favored, which surprised me.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: And the over-under is 48 points.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: You got Hertz, AJ Brown, Devontae Smith, Saquon Barkley all day, of course.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Dallas Goddard is injured, and you know I have concerns about starting him even when he's healthy.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: On the other side of the field, Burrow, Jamar Chase, T.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: Higgins, Zach Moss, Chase Brown.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: I would start all them too.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: I know you gotta make a decision with Zach Moss uh sometimes if you've got another running back, maybe, but I still have confidence in Zach Moss and Chase Brown as far as a solid floor for both and a pretty good ceiling for Chase Brown.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: There are some linemen dealing with injuries, mostly on the Eagles, but that shouldn't have any impact on your fantasy lineup.
- 13:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Saquon's still gonna produce.
- 13:14SPEAKER_01: He's still gonna be a monster.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Um, no one, like you said, no one's gonna shut down AJ Brown.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh hurts, we'll see what kind of hurts shows up on Sunday.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: Um, as far as production, and even Devontae Smith, right?
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: We need a Devontae Smith bounce back game.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we gotta have a bounce back game, yes.
- 13:33SPEAKER_01: Because he was out the next game after that concussion, and then this is his first game back.
- 13:37SPEAKER_01: He didn't, I don't even think he had a single reception, maybe one, uh, if we're lucky.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: But uh yeah, he it definitely wasn't a good game for him just because he wasn't involved.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: Um but as far as the Bengal side, a lot of talent.
- 13:52SPEAKER_01: Jamar Chase is clicking on all cylinders, right?
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: He's freaking, it doesn't matter single coverage, double coverage, he's just feeling it right now, and he's in a flow.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: So he's gonna continue to do so, and that's gonna open it up for T Higgins, like you said.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Um, Chase Brown does have the higher ceiling out of the two, I think, now over Zach Moss, unfortunately.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: Um, but that's how NFL backfields work.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: You know, they ride the hot hand, smart coaches do, and um they went in there with Zach Moss hoping hoping he was the guy, and Chase Brown just decided, hell no, he already drafted the guy, right?
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: And that surprised me the way they the way that shifted.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: I mean, that happened just over one game, pretty much, that we actually saw that shift, and then Zach Moss has been kind of just average since that game three or four weeks ago, whenever that was.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: And I traded him by then in all leagues.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: I I have Zach Moss in quite a few leagues, and I dropped Chase Brown in quite a few leagues too.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: That one burns though.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: I think I think there's a few of us that can say we dropped Chase Brown, you know, in the first couple of weeks because we didn't know what the hell that carousel was, and and uh to find out that he was a really good flex, you're like, damn, I had that flex you're sitting on my bench.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: I need to give him away, but it is that's fancy.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: You're you're watching to see what happens, it doesn't happen.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: You drop him.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: It's like when I I traded Iuk to you, and then that week he gets 125 yards and looks incredible.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: And I know he's hurt now, but like it's uh it's how it is sometimes.
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: Now who do you have for your hot matchup, Manny?
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for my hot matchup, I went ahead and went with the uh Vikings versus the Rams.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: I think that's gonna be a high scoring game.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: Uh Vikings have a really great defense, but I think with the Rams getting Cooper Cutback, it's gonna be one of those type of games, like the Super Bowl type of performance, where it's just gonna be him and Stafford all day.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: Um, so I don't I think that's gonna be obviously they're gonna feed Kyron Williams like crazy.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: You're not gonna not feed one of the top running backs in the game.
- 16:05SPEAKER_01: So Kyron Williams is gonna continue to get his touches and his snaps.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: Um, he's gonna have a multi-touchdown day.
- 16:11SPEAKER_01: You're gonna see Cooper Cup with a 10-catch type of day.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: Um, and then on the opposite side, the Vikings are gonna, I think they take the win, right?
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: Because they've been on fire lately.
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Um, and even against the Detroit team, I was actually surprised on how good they played.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: The Vikings have shown me that they actually consistently play against good against other, you know, good teams.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: So Justin Jefferson, the quarterback proof wide receiver, right?
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: He's the only one I think right now, the only one proving it so far this season.
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely.
- 16:44SPEAKER_01: Aaron Jones has looked good.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: He turned back the clock, right?
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: He's as long as his hammy stays stays intact, he's good.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: He has um, and then obviously it's it the the the last part is between Addison and when Hawkinson comes back, you know, between him as well.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: I think he still hasn't even activated yet, right?
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: I think well, right now he's listed as questionable for this week.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: They have activated him.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: Uh they opened that 21 day window a couple weeks ago.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: But the thing is, what you were just talking about with Addison and Hawkinson, that's difficult to navigate.
- 17:18SPEAKER_00: What their workload and their production is gonna look like for the next half of the season is tough to say.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And I've been thinking about it a lot because I got Hawkinson two leagues and Addison in three.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: And uh after this week, it's gonna be a toss-up to see what those guys do.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: I would hope that Addison has a big game this this week and sell high on him.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he has a good matchup, and I was thinking the exact same thing.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: Are there any other notable games that you want to bring up?
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, definitely.
- 17:48SPEAKER_01: Uh, some other notable games.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, I was looking at the um Green Bay versus Jacksonville.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: I mean, that spread is 49 and a half.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: That's actually probably one of the highest rated scoring games of the week here.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Um, Green Bay obviously has a great defense.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: Jacksonville has is not the greatest offense, one of the worst defenses.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: So obviously, Green Bay loves a pour on the points.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: You're gonna see uh an absolute show from Jordan Love.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: He's gonna lay it on to Jaden Reed, they're gonna have all kinds of flea flickers, you know, all kinds of crazy shit, end arounds.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: Um, Romeo Dobbs, man, one of my favorite like waiver wire ads this year.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you've been talking about him all year.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's he's been solid, man.
- 18:31SPEAKER_01: He's a really good flex.
- 18:33SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 18:34SPEAKER_01: I I love the fact that I got him for free, and I got him in all my leagues.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: So, but Romeo Dobbs is gonna get some looks.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Uh, and of course, Josh Jacobs, right?
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: When you look at running backs, guys, you look at like certain types of running backs and schemes, Green Bay is a good running team.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Like they have some big linemen uh and they have a big back.
- 18:53SPEAKER_01: And the way Josh Jacobs is, he's not the type of back that really gets hit hard because he's always the one doing the hitting, kind of like Derrick Henry, James Conner, he's making the contact.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: So when I always watch him play, he's always falling forward or he's always like squared up, and he's just a really big dude, you know, like solid dude.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um they're just gonna pound the rock.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: Uh Jacksonville can't stop it if they wanted to, you know.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: So they're gonna pound it right up the gut and then just throw some touchdowns.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: So expect them to have a big day.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Obviously, on the opposite side, I already mentioned uh Jacksonville.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: Uh besides Evan Ingram, I I really wouldn't, you know, and I know anybody else.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: And I know it's been up and down, but the um, I mean, with all the receivers in Jacksonville, it's a coin flip.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: But uh, what's his name?
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: Um, not Christian Kirk.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Um Blank and Kirk.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're talking about Brian Thomas Jr.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: Thomas.
- 19:49SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say Brian Johnson.
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Brian Thomas.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: I think last I think last week I called him Brian Johnson, but yeah, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: has been pretty consistent.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: He's had a couple down games, but most of his games have been rock solid.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: So I would definitely play him too.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, you're right about that.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: I forgot about him.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: He's been a stud rookie, and I thought it was just LSU, man, and nah, he's he really is a really great receiver.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: So yeah, those LSU receivers, man, they could they they let everyone know what's up.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: Another game I think is gonna be good is the Cowboys and the Niners.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Despite all the injuries on the Niners, you know, they they still are a solid offense, and I believe if you do get like a lot of these guys have been playing injured all year, so if I don't know what the status is gonna be with Kittle and with Debo or Juwan Jennings for that fact, but Jordan Mason's gonna go, and Brock Purdy's been consistent, and then of course with the Cowboys.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: Um CeeDee Lamb, he needs to step up a little bit just to meet expectations.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: But I'm actually pretty high on Rico Dowdle, too.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna have a good game, even though the Niners have a pretty good run defense.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: I think he's gonna get enough volume where he has a solid day, too.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and coming off a bye, definitely the Cowboys have something to prove because I think they got their ass whacked the last game they played, right?
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they they really went to the bye week with their tail between their legs.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Oh my goodness, big time.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And and that's and for a team, that's actually the perfect time to have a bye week because you can really get your shit together, uh, dig in, game plan, and you get an extra week to plan for the team you're playing against.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: And so uh I think CD Lamb's gonna finally have that breakout game we've all been waiting for, right?
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: All the CD Lamb owners uh are gonna rejoice here this week.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and of course, on the Niners side, you're gonna get to see those young guys we talked about, Ricky Pearsall and uh Jay Cowan go to work.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: But of course, Kittle's gonna not practice all week and hopefully play on Sunday.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: That's what he usually does.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: you know yeah but then he there's times where he just ends up being out you're like fuck you know why do you always play my but there's other times he goes in injured and puts up 30.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: And it's same with Debo same with Debo he's that same kind of guy where he'll be questionable all week and then have a monster game if if they if those guys do play you got to expect them to have a big game even if they're slightly injured.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: And and on on the Cowboys I actually like uh Ferguson as well he's gonna be heavily involved and Jalen Tolbert I know the last game but I mean I was just looking at the score I forgot how bad it actually was it was 47 to nine so you can't really look at last game and base too much off of that I think Jalen Tolbert Ferguson C D lamb and Rico Doddle have a solid day yeah and uh definitely the kicker for the Cowboys Au yeah Aubrey that's the best player on their team highest scoring player 12 points a week dude's awesome he's so consistent now let's get into some cold calls the nipples are hard oh hey it's time for the cold call candy back on all right yes sir so for for my cold call this week I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Saints versus the Chargers two dumpster fires going at it right brutal throwing two baboos throwing shit at each other see who is the bigger shit head so it's gonna be fun so saints are definitely down Derek Carr right so it's gonna be Spencer Rattler again uh chargers actually have a solid defense so I expect him to struggle um camara is gonna be like the only serviceable serve serviceable guy I would play off the Saints because Lolave is out Shaheed is out so basically it's gonna be a really tough matchup uh but then on the flip side the Chargers you know besides J.K.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Dobbins you really don't have much uh options for them as well so they're gonna run it through JK Dobbins they might get lad McConkey involved if he plays which you said he's a question mark already.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah he didn't practice today so I and I I don't I don't know a lot of the times it's tough to make a decision I know it's you know it's only Thursday when you're watching this but it's still tough to make a decision when you see someone hasn't practiced all week they're questionable Friday and then they get a full practice or if they get a full practice on Friday you still have that lingering in the back of your head like well he's questionable all week you know I don't know about lad McConkey and Saints and Chargers defense has looked all right so they've been solid they they got they're reeling from some losses I think uh I don't know the Chargers recently lost I think they might have won but um they lost some tough games so uh I I definitely don't want any part of either those teams I I traded away any stock I had in the Saints early on and um you know not on purpose just because I had better deals in place but uh you know I'm feeling really good about those trades right now.
- 25:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah and uh I I just think what you said about Dobbins and and Kamar is true.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: Those are the two guys you're gonna start they've been consistent but probably got to kind of temper your expectations a little bit because that's all the defense is going to focus on for both of them R B and D running backs and defense that's it it's gonna be a grind fest.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Yes and similar to the one I'm gonna mention my cold call which is the Chiefs versus the Raiders and I know it's funny like you know we're talking about the Chiefs a lot differently at the beginning of the season but there's so many moving pieces with both of these teams right now injuries trades and overall expectations uh but the Chiefs are still somehow undefeated uh Patrick Mahomes he's just not a good fantasy quarterback you know he might be a good real life quarterback but in fantasy he's not doing anything for you he he really fell off at the end of last year and hasn't come back to full speed and his two biggest offensive weapons Pacheco and Rashi Rice have been out with injuries and Travis Kelsey lost a step like you got to acknowledge the fact that he's not the same player either.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: So the Chiefs have actually been leaning on Kareem Hunt which is shocking to see how productive he's been and how consistent he's been with all that young blood around you think that Kareem Hunt's just going to come up as a change of pace back and he's just taking over that backfield.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: But the Chiefs have been leaning on him and their defense to win to win games and it's working but there's no one on that team aside from Kareem Hunt that I would play with confidence including Travis Kelsey.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: I mean yeah you're gonna play him because he's probably your best option but the same way the Chiefs have been leaning on Kareem Hunt the Raiders have been leaning on Alexander Madison after zero after Zamir White turned out to be a total bust.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: And the last few weeks Madison has looked great but um the Devontae Adams trade has not helped anyone on that team you know Trey Tucker's numbers have gone down and Jacoby Myers has been banged up for the last few weeks so if he goes into this game a little bit banged up they're probably going to lean on Alexander Madison again.
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: And Madison is the only player I would start on the Raiders for sure.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Possibly Jacoby Myers if you don't have a better option or if you're in a three wide receiver three wide receiver or a double flex league but I don't even know what's going on with their QB situation.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Are they starting Gardner Minshew again this week I saw they signed Desmond Raider but I think this this week I'd assume they're going with Minshew again.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: What I see happening is the Chiefs will get an early lead and grind this one out but don't expect a high score start Hunt start Madison start Kelsey probably and Jacoby probably uh if that's your best option but don't expect too much from them and the only one I would have confidence in are Hunt and Madison yeah and I can see how you could uh consider this a very low scoring game definitely uh Raiders is a mess over there right like I I'm glad I don't have any shares of them although I wish I had some shares with Devontae Adams right now right yeah I I I felt good about not drafting him and now you know I'm like man he's he's a good body I felt good about not drafting him too I was I was talking about the beginning of the season you guys are gonna be sorry yeah well we'll see how good he does with uh New York but I think he's gonna be pretty solid yeah and we did mention last week how you gotta you don't expect much remember we said going into this this is first week don't expect too much on the Jets and same thing with DeAndre Hopkins he just got traded there today as well so you shouldn't expect much you know from him he's yeah he'll look kind of tired he's looked a little bit beat so I think for the you know Chief versus the Raiders they might give him some looks get them used to the offense they might get them uh at least acclimated and and once they get the lead they'll pull them out and just let Carson steal and these guys run it out.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: But and I'm glad you mentioned that because I should have brought up DeAndre Hopkins yeah they do have him on the team now if he does play this week don't expect much he's gonna get used to the new offense they'll feed him uh a little bit here and there just to get him warmed up but yeah that's probably all it's gonna be is a warm up warm-up game now it's time for the shit call of the week now for my shit call I want to talk about something I touched on a little bit earlier it's uh picking a player that's got in you know for example my shit call is picking IU right to have a big blow up game I picked a guy that hasn't had a whole training camp hasn't played you know he's played some snaps but he hasn't really you know gotten his chemistry back together with his quarterback yet he was hanging with the wrong quarterback this offseason I don't know if you saw him but he was with Jaden Daniels every day when he was negotiating Jalen Daniels uh was actually saying hey if you don't you know if you don't give him a contract you need to trade him over to my team yeah yeah so uh there were some that'd been cool uh I mean that would be amazing for him but um anyway so my cold call or my shit call was just me making making the call that I I thought this guy was gonna go out and ball out which he got some really good looks that game he just wasn't pulling them in and he had like a couple like big 20 yard gains that he dropped and then after that he he caught that last one his jobs were so bad these they were right these first six eight weeks my god yeah and and and then he ended up catching the one that was with him in traffic getting pancaked by like two defenders so that's where it just destroyed his knee.
- 31:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah but um it sucks so you know it it's kind of like we mentioned before so certain players in skilled positions you gotta make sure they got their legs out under them and you shouldn't invest too high in players that held out for a long time so keep that in mind for any future fantasy football purposes because there's not many players that can actually withhold uh withstand the offseason and still maintain the same regiment you know players like Derrick Henry you know obviously you know uh Jamar Chase players like that you know they still do it so yeah that's great advice though because it's we've seen the other side of that yeah you you mentioned Derrick Henry and Jamar Chase there are certain guys that are physical freaks that can make that happen but generally speaking that is a good sign that they're gonna have it at the very like best case scenario a slow start.
- 32:04SPEAKER_01: Worst case scenario they're injured and out for half the year now for my shit call I made a player profile discussing the potential upside of Juju Smith Schuster he had a huge week five and I figured he'd be ready to go in week seven after the bye but he's gonna miss this week too and he could still produce over the second half of the season sure but I dropped him in the leagues where I picked him up because he's been a wasted roster spot he's not going to play this week and the Chiefs just traded for DeAndre Hopkins so I think I was and I did mention that he might just fade away the rest of the season because he's he's had a history of big games here and there and then disappearing for weeks at a time so you always know that's baked into the cake when you get him on your team but I expected Juju to be involved for the second half of the season but with this trade for DeAndre and the fact that he's banged up might want to fade on him and I was really high on him just a week ago shit happens brother we were I was we were high on Carson Steele a few weeks ago and then Kareem Hunt got signed overnight.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: Man when you see Carson Steele get 17 touches in his debut you think that number is going to at least stay the same and then he fumbles the first play of the game hey sports minds well it's that time that we all hate it's the end of the show we really appreciate the love and support please make sure to like follow share with your friends download the episodes uh we appreciate your love uh joe did you have anything else for them i'll just keep commenting subscribe as as always and let us know if there's a profile you want to see some questions you have we'll do our best to give you some good advice all right folks you guys take care and you have a great rest of your night we'll see you next week same time same place here at Sports Minds Fancy Fumble guys take care all right peace
