- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to Duval, daily put them at gymjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luba, thanks so much for being here.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Wednesday, November 5th, and this is not a drill.
- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Straud is out against your Jacksonville Jaguar's Demiko Ryan's shared the news earlier today in Murray.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_00]: The dog Murray is very excited to hear this news now.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to talking about injuries, these are humans, these are people.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: I wish CJ Straud nothing but the best from a health standpoint.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Want him to get healthy, be able to play football, all that stuff.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: But when it comes to the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Houston Texans on the field, this is massive, massive news.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars will be facing their division rival.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: You might say they've been there nemesis as of late, certainly much more than the Titans have.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_00]: Murray's still fired up about it.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: they will be facing the Houston Texans without C.J.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Strauss.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Davis Mills will be their starting quarterback.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And this is
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's just massive news.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: There's no doubt about it.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_00]: So really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk about it here, appreciate you being here.

- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Pick up some new Duval gear and Murray just really cannot contain herself over there.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that Amazon driver was driving by making a little bit too much noise.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_00]: That's how it goes.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: CJ Straud out against the Jag wars.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: The Texans enter this game three and five, right?
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty poor offensive line.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, pretty poor offense, but one of the best defenses in football.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: Now you subtract CJ Strahd and Inter Davis Mills.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_00]: This officially makes this a must win game for the Jaguars.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: Not gonna mince words on that.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: It's a must win game for the Jaguars.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: You could already have argued, made the argument that it was pretty close to a must-win, you know, your 5 and 3.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: The difference between 6 and 3 and 5 and 4 in a division where you have the cold 2 or 7 and 2, they are facing a much more difficult backup of the schedule, but the Texans on paper with a 3 and 5 record are one of the teams.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: over the back half of the season here for the Jaguars, that actually have a losing record that the Jaguars are playing against.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: They're playing against the Texans, the Titans twice, the Jets, and the Cardinals.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the teams of Jaguars play with the losing record.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: Those are the teams that on paper the Jaguars should be able to beat.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: There's some other teams as well that I think are potentially beatable.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the chargers and their issues on their offensive tackle spot.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: You look at the Jaguars and the Colts and how they match up all these things, right?
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: But those are the ones on paper that you had to win.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: And now that CJ Strowt is out, and CJ Strowt is, you know, for all of the criticism he's received and negativity surrounding the Texans in a lot of ways, CJ Strowt is just a much better player
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: then Davis Mills and the Texans are a more dangerous team with CJ Straud on the field than on the sideline.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's no question about that in my mind.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now, could you get a simplified approach from the Texans' offense that tries to feature Nico Collins, that tries to take advantage of the Jaguars' weakness against the tight end?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, were you already probably going to see that?
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: But the Texans are now a team that looks like they're right for the taking.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: They really are.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars need to win this game.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: They need to bury the Texans at 3 and 6.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: They need to get to 6 and 3 with a home date against the Chargers looming.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: That'll be a big game.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be a game in which, you know, I think it remains to be seen where I'll stand on that game against the Chargers.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously some injuries and different things.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: Murray's just
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: wreaking havoc.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: Say hi, everybody.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy little docks in here.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: Davis Mills behind the Texans' offensive line is not a recipe that I would feel particularly good about if I was the Texans, right?
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry I'm all over the place here.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have notes for this.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: I just got the news and so we're just talking about and responding to it as, you know, basically live.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars general manager has not minced words about wanting to win the division.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: That is the Jaguars goal is to win the division and the Jaguars are five and three.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: The culture seven and two.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have a chance, adding Jacobi Myers, with the back half of the schedule we just talked about again.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_00]: They were playing the Texans, the Titans twice, the Cardinals, the Jets.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: They have five of their next nine games against teams with a losing record.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: If they win, five of their next nine games, they will finish the season.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: That should get you in the playoffs.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that when you're your division, I don't know.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: Their goal is to win the division.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: Will it when you're your division?
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think you need to do a little bit better than that.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it starts again with this game against the Houston Texans.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars will win this game.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'll go ahead and put that on record.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars will win in Houston.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Beat the Texans, sweep the Texans.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_00]: which is just, I mean, I did not have that on my bingo card going into this year.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_00]: When is, is 2017 the last time the Jaguar swept the Texans?
- 6:19[SPEAKER_00]: Pull that up, let's see.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: 2017, yeah.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: 2017, was that just Sean Watson's rookie year, I think it was.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: That was the last time the Jaguar swept the Texans.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's been almost a decade.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: That would be just unbelievably huge, and I think it's going to happen.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars for all their issues, and they still do have a lot of issues that are working out, including health issues.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: And you're hoping that the Jaguars are healthy, entering this game.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: Then they were last week against the Raiders.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: than they were coming out of last week's game against the Raiders.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: And we still don't have the injury report for today.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: But the Jack Wars need to win this game, and I think they will.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: No CJ Stroud is a big, big problem for them.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: And you're talking about Davis Mills behind Arionte Ursary,
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: There's allowed 23 pressures.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: So far this year, just a porous offensive line when it comes to pass protection.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have a great running game.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I really think that the Jaguar's defense can kind of get back to what makes it like, look, the Raiders, not a good team, but they did have some pieces.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: They had Gino Smith, they had Brock Bowers, they had Ashton, Gentie, they had Jacobi Myers.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: They had some pieces in place that made you really worry about that offense.
- 7:57[SPEAKER_00]: And for Dalton's hold is a good player.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: He is in no way shape or form Brock Bowers, right?
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Gino Smith, for his issues this year, a more dangerous quarterback than Davis Mills.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: And Ashton, Gentie, much more dangerous than any running back the Texans have in their backfield.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you the Nico Collins, but I think the Jack Wars with Greg Newsome and Buster Brown playing a lot of his own defense have an opportunity to be much better there.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: You get Jordan Lewis back, hopefully.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully Eric Murray, hopefully Devon Lloyd, those are big pieces there and those guys help you to defend the tight end as well, by the way, this is just huge news and the jacks, like I said, I think they're going to win this one.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what y'all think in the comment section below.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's not going to be easy putting up a lot of points against this Texans defense and we're going to preview the heck out of this game over the next several days for sure.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: But CJ stroud out against the Jacksonville Jag wars makes this a must win and it probably already was.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: It means you have to beat the Texans.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: If you can't beat the Texans without CJ Straud, good luck making the playoffs, good luck winning your division.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, making the playoffs is not the goal for this team.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not talking about my personal goal.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about the goal within that building is to win this division, get ahead of the cults, which the Jaguar's control their own destiny.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: Without question, I mean, they have one more loss than the cults.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: And they play the cults twice.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: They also play the Titans twice.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: The cold schedule, a lot more difficult than the Jaguar schedule.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: We can pull that up and talk about it real quick.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: For these two teams, in the cold series, technically like a game and a half ahead of the Jaguars, they're seven and two, the Jaguars are five and three.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: They've played one more game, but the culture taking on the Falcons this weekend.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: They then have Kansas City, obviously they play the Jaguars twice.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: They play Seattle and they play San Francisco as well.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got some of these teams that are really tough coming up on their schedule in my opinion, including the Jaguars.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: So it's gonna be fascinating to see.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know what you think in the comment section below.
