- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Becca Tilly and Tanya rt an iHeartRadio podcast.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Hello everybody, We are scrubbing in scrub.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Dub Dub with the Modern Woman Energy.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Today is a modern Woman episode.
- 0:16Speaker 3: That's right, because we have two fantastic ladies in the
- 0:20Speaker 3: o R today.
- 0:21Speaker 2: And we're at Epic Con.
- 0:22Speaker 4: Yes, we are still at Epicon.
- 0:23Speaker 2: And speaking of modern women. The reason this epic con exists?
- 0:28Speaker 4: Who runs the Epicon girl?
- 0:31Speaker 2: I like forgot what the lyric was because it was
- 0:34Speaker 2: so off, but we do. We are at a convention
- 0:38Speaker 2: full of modern woman started by modern women, and what
- 0:41Speaker 2: better episode than a modern woman episode exactly.
- 0:43Speaker 3: So we are going to be talking to Chantelle van Santon,
- 0:47Speaker 3: who we remember from One Tree Hill Quinn Nick Quinn, Yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 3: super excited to have her, and then Danielle Savory, who
- 0:57Speaker 3: is dating our new favorite human on the plane.
- 1:00Speaker 4: It Kevin McKidd.
- 1:01Speaker 2: That's right, not that new. It's been about a couple
- 1:04Speaker 2: of years since we've had him on the podcast. Yeah,
- 1:06Speaker 2: and he became our favorite.
- 1:07Speaker 4: That's true. Yeah, it was.
- 1:08Speaker 3: It was in the Pandemic I remember because we did
- 1:10Speaker 3: it on Zoom.
- 1:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: But more importantly, she stands on her own without Kevin McKidd.
- 1:15Speaker 2: We love her. She is a Station nineteen star and
- 1:19Speaker 2: part of the one of the queer relationships and the
- 1:21Speaker 2: multi universe of Grey's Anatomy. So yes, we love her.
- 1:25Speaker 2: So today is modern woman energy and without further ado.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Let's bring them in, bring them in, bring them in.
- 1:47Speaker 2: All right, everyone, we have Sean Talvin Senter.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:52Speaker 4: We were so excited to have you on the podcast.
- 1:55Speaker 2: You're so stunning in person. Okay, well, when you walked in,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I was like, whoa, thank you. We're very excited to talk.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Yeah, we've been like fans of yours from forever ago
- 2:08Speaker 3: and you just have really good energy and so we're
- 2:11Speaker 3: really excited to have you him here.
- 2:12Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm happy to be here.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Do you when you come to these things, is it
- 2:16Speaker 2: just like crazy and overwhelming or have you done enough
- 2:18Speaker 2: where you feel at home?
- 2:20Speaker 7: No, I've done enough.
- 2:21Speaker 8: It's so funny like that, I see some familiar faces.
- 2:24Speaker 8: I'll never remember names, always feel like I'm sorry.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But I feel like I met a guy to day.
- 2:28Speaker 7: I was like, have I met you before?
- 2:30Speaker 6: And I was like, you didn't have a beard.
- 2:32Speaker 8: Then he was like, I met you when you were
- 2:34Speaker 8: twenty three at a Walmart in Wilmington, North Carolina.
- 2:38Speaker 7: They made us do a signing, like my first season there.
- 2:41Speaker 7: I was so excited. I'm like on a TV show
- 2:43Speaker 7: and they're like, we're doing a signing. I'm like, oh
- 2:45Speaker 7: my god, how cool. They're like, we're going to the
- 2:46Speaker 7: little Coobo Walmart.
- 2:48Speaker 8: Oh okay, And they had like a table set up
- 2:51Speaker 8: in like the like home department with like all of
- 2:54Speaker 8: us cast, and that's where I met him, and I
- 2:55Speaker 8: was like, I cannot believe it.
- 2:57Speaker 7: He's like, we have to take another picture today.
- 2:59Speaker 2: That would make me feel so good if.
- 3:01Speaker 7: Someone later, Oh no, I mean I did I remembered
- 3:04Speaker 7: his face? I was like, have I.
- 3:06Speaker 8: So It's it's a funny thing that when you start
- 3:08Speaker 8: to come to them, I also feel you just are
- 3:12Speaker 8: there present with whatever person is in front of you.
- 3:15Speaker 8: You're not worried about if there's only two people in
- 3:17Speaker 8: your line or two hundred, Like it's just about engaging
- 3:21Speaker 8: and being present and being real and talking to people
- 3:24Speaker 8: about a show that they loved that I was in,
- 3:27Speaker 8: or a character or a video game that they you know,
- 3:30Speaker 8: play that I mean, like whatever that it is that
- 3:32Speaker 8: makes them feel connected and excited. That's what is that
- 3:35Speaker 8: for you?
- 3:35Speaker 4: What's the number one show that people come to you
- 3:38Speaker 4: and say.
- 3:39Speaker 6: I mean, it's it's definitely One Tree Hill.
- 3:41Speaker 8: You know.
- 3:43Speaker 4: That's that's where I met you. Well, I didn't meet you.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But that's where we've all collectively met you.
- 3:48Speaker 7: That's here everyone met you. You don't remember, yeah, my face.
- 3:52Speaker 3: But it's so crazy because I feel like I was
- 3:55Speaker 3: so into it when I was watching it, right, I
- 3:58Speaker 3: you could tell me some storylines, and it's like it
- 4:00Speaker 3: was a hundred million year, Like I don't remember anything,
- 4:03Speaker 3: but I remember being so like into the show.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I remember.
- 4:09Speaker 8: I remember a lot of the memories around it, like
- 4:13Speaker 8: random things like somebody just said, like, oh, I was
- 4:15Speaker 8: just watching Brooke and Julian's wedding and I was like,
- 4:18Speaker 8: oh yeah, where I was the photographer? Oh yeah, I
- 4:21Speaker 8: wore these vintage earrings. I found it, like the little
- 4:23Speaker 8: local place in downtown Wilmington. Like I couldn't remember a line.
- 4:27Speaker 8: I remember I had a scene with I think Jana Kramer,
- 4:30Speaker 8: but like I couldn't. I'm like, I couldn't tell you
- 4:33Speaker 8: really maybe what happened other than maybe off off camera,
- 4:38Speaker 8: like you know, whatever you read those are the memories
- 4:41Speaker 8: that of course stick out to me more than anything else.
- 4:46Speaker 8: But yeah, I mean we talked about it before we
- 4:49Speaker 8: turned the mics on, and like, there's stuff that's in
- 4:52Speaker 8: the trash can for me on some of the memories
- 4:55Speaker 8: of that time.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But yeah, that's the show.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I feel like it's so bizarre.
- 5:00Speaker 8: To me that it's still so iconic. And then had
- 5:02Speaker 8: like this weird Resurgence revival yes where moms are introducing
- 5:06Speaker 8: me to their thirteen year old daughter whose name is
- 5:08Speaker 8: Quinn and they're watching it together and.
- 5:10Speaker 7: I'm like, oh, I'm so old, like I don't crazy now.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And now they're doing the reboot.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Have you heard about the reboots?
- 5:16Speaker 1: I have heard.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Are you on it? Are you gonna be on it?
- 5:18Speaker 8: I've I heard about it because I read the news
- 5:21Speaker 8: with all of you guys.
- 5:22Speaker 6: Okay, okay, okay, I don't know anything about it.
- 5:26Speaker 4: I don't really know much about it either.
- 5:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I was just kind of been an idea that got
- 5:31Speaker 2: announced of like it's moving forward, but there's not many
- 5:33Speaker 2: details around it. Would you do it? If they asked you,
- 5:37Speaker 2: would you be a part of it?
- 5:39Speaker 8: This is the first time I've been asked about it.
- 5:43Speaker 8: I would do it if it was about fairness and inclusivity. Oh, interesting,
- 5:52Speaker 8: that's my truth. Yeah, that's what I'm interested in. I'm
- 5:55Speaker 8: interested in like creative projects that don't involve things that
- 6:05Speaker 8: I've already gone through in my past and learned lessons from.
- 6:11Speaker 8: And I don't know, I literally would know as much
- 6:14Speaker 8: as you guys.
- 6:16Speaker 6: I probably know less.
- 6:17Speaker 8: Actually I probably actually know less because I think I
- 6:21Speaker 8: read like one clip that I was tagged in that
- 6:25Speaker 8: had said like, oh, they're doing a reboot Hillary and
- 6:31Speaker 8: Sophia and Daniel, right, And I was like, oh, that's cool,
- 6:36Speaker 8: and they're like going to reprise their roles. And I
- 6:38Speaker 8: was like, oh cool, that's awesome for them, that's so cool.
- 6:42Speaker 6: How fun?
- 6:44Speaker 2: Well, I just imagine one of those things right where
- 6:47Speaker 2: it's like, okay, you have you have the three who
- 6:49Speaker 2: are involved, and then it's like who will want to
- 6:52Speaker 2: be a part? Yeah, that type of thing, because I imagine
- 6:54Speaker 2: they would want everyone from the show.
- 6:56Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I would imagine as.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Well as fans that's what we've Yeah.
- 7:01Speaker 8: I mean I would think it would be weird to
- 7:03Speaker 8: do like a re boot and then leave people out,
- 7:07Speaker 8: you know what.
- 7:07Speaker 7: I mean, but I don't know.
- 7:09Speaker 6: I don't know how it works.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Maybe we'll get to cast, maybe they'll like, you know,
- 7:15Speaker 9: like you know sometimes on shows are like all of
- 7:18Speaker 9: a sudden, they'll just cast somebody new, but they'll keep
- 7:20Speaker 9: the same character name but try to trick you.
- 7:24Speaker 7: But it's like a new person.
- 7:25Speaker 8: But they'll be like, no, no, that's Quinn, that's Quinn James,
- 7:27Speaker 8: that's show.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's Quinn James.
- 7:29Speaker 7: Guys, that's her, you know what I mean.
- 7:30Speaker 8: But it'll be like just another blonde actress and you're like, right,
- 7:34Speaker 8: what I mean, shows you.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Know do it all the time.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But yeah, I'll be ready to riot if you try that.
- 7:42Speaker 2: If anything, they need to say she's off in Spain her.
- 7:46Speaker 7: Life, I mean, I would be.
- 7:50Speaker 8: I have no idea what you know, we've been I
- 7:53Speaker 8: know I've been asked for years and years like okay,
- 7:55Speaker 8: if they if you guys could go back, what do
- 7:57Speaker 8: you think they're doing now? What are like Quinn doing now?
- 8:00Speaker 8: Or you know, if there ever was a reboot, what
- 8:02Speaker 8: would you want to see? And now that there is one, I'm.
- 8:04Speaker 6: Like, oh my god, it's real.
- 8:06Speaker 7: Right right, right right, it's going to happen.
- 8:08Speaker 6: What's going to be doing, so.
- 8:09Speaker 8: It'll be interesting to like watch it unfold and see
- 8:13Speaker 8: who they want involved in it.
- 8:15Speaker 4: But the show you're shooting now, FBI, do you shoot that?
- 8:18Speaker 4: How many? It's like months out of the year, Like,
- 8:20Speaker 4: would you even have not society? Do you have time
- 8:22Speaker 4: to do anything else? Almost the whole year? There's twelve
- 8:25Speaker 4: months in a year. Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 8: Yes, Basically, I said, it's like a school I have
- 8:32Speaker 8: to explain to my family why I don't go home
- 8:34Speaker 8: for holidays and birthdays, and I'm like, it's like a
- 8:36Speaker 8: school schedule. I get one and a half to two
- 8:39Speaker 8: weeks off for winter break. We don't get a spring break,
- 8:43Speaker 8: we get a couple holidays, and we get like a
- 8:46Speaker 8: two month summer vacation.
- 8:48Speaker 6: And that's kind of it.
- 8:50Speaker 3: But that's like the dream, right when you're an actor,
- 8:52Speaker 3: to have like a like a somewhat of like a
- 8:54Speaker 3: study study schedule.
- 8:56Speaker 8: It's so much more consistency than I've ever had any
- 9:00Speaker 8: other job. Like I was on an Apple TV show
- 9:03Speaker 8: called for All Mankind and I was doing The Boys
- 9:07Speaker 8: on Amazon at the same time, and everybody's like, well,
- 9:09Speaker 8: how did that work.
- 9:09Speaker 6: I'm like, I would shoot.
- 9:11Speaker 8: For one week a month like my character was in
- 9:13Speaker 8: this one space it was you know what I mean,
- 9:15Speaker 8: I'd shoot for and then I could go and do
- 9:17Speaker 8: that and I still had a week and a half
- 9:19Speaker 8: off you know, every month.
- 9:20Speaker 6: It was great.
- 9:22Speaker 7: But yeah, this show is so much.
- 9:24Speaker 8: More demanding physically and time wise being on FBI than
- 9:29Speaker 8: any show I've ever been on.
- 9:31Speaker 6: But I kind of love it.
- 9:32Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't. I don't have kiddos. I just have
- 9:36Speaker 8: a dog.
- 9:37Speaker 7: And so for me, it is a kid. It is
- 9:40Speaker 7: a kid.
- 9:41Speaker 8: I'm a bit to go on a two mile walk
- 9:43Speaker 8: with her so that she gets her a walker. Yeah,
- 9:46Speaker 8: but you know, I think that I have I have
- 9:50Speaker 8: the time, and I have the energy. I'm not as
- 9:52Speaker 8: decrepit as I feel, you know sometimes, But.
- 9:57Speaker 3: There's anything that could take away from this interview. You
- 9:59Speaker 3: are far from decrepit.
- 10:00Speaker 8: We're talking about like how many years ago I was
- 10:03Speaker 8: filling in Willington and I'm like, I'm literally sitting star
- 10:05Speaker 8: at you and.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I'm like, I need to work.
- 10:09Speaker 3: I need your inst and we're like, abs, but did
- 10:15Speaker 3: you your protein?
- 10:16Speaker 2: I do actually taking care of like being physically like
- 10:21Speaker 2: that as part of your job.
- 10:22Speaker 8: It is one hundred percent, And for me, it's the
- 10:25Speaker 8: first role I've had where my my idea and goal
- 10:30Speaker 8: for Sean tell and what I would.
- 10:32Speaker 10: Like to be able to physically be able to I
- 10:36Speaker 10: guess do, but also aesthetically if I could achieve matches
- 10:40Speaker 10: up with a role that I'm playing, Like, I really
- 10:43Speaker 10: love being an athletic woman.
- 10:46Speaker 6: Who I'm allowed to have muscle, you.
- 10:48Speaker 8: Know, I'm allowed to like kill them, Like that's what
- 10:50Speaker 8: I like, You're like so important to me.
- 10:52Speaker 6: I'm like, I don't want to.
- 10:53Speaker 8: I'm not built to be like incredibly thin, and you
- 10:56Speaker 8: know that's okay for like one of my best friends is.
- 10:59Speaker 8: But it's just it's so interesting because all the other
- 11:03Speaker 8: roles I've played were like a housewife in nineteen sixty
- 11:06Speaker 8: I could no muscle, Like it just was not an option.
- 11:10Speaker 8: And you know then it was like, okay, season two,
- 11:12Speaker 8: can you put on some weight? And so it was
- 11:14Speaker 8: like I gained twenty five pounds, you know what I
- 11:16Speaker 8: mean because of what my character.
- 11:17Speaker 6: Was going for.
- 11:18Speaker 8: And so you know, there's there's different physical ideas and
- 11:22Speaker 8: demands for different roles, and it's the first time like
- 11:26Speaker 8: I get to like strength train and feel strong and
- 11:29Speaker 8: physically capable, and if I'm gonna chase after a full
- 11:33Speaker 8: grown male and take him down or shove him up
- 11:36Speaker 8: against a wall and handcuff him. That I actually physically
- 11:39Speaker 8: feel like I can and I want to. Yeah, you know,
- 11:42Speaker 8: I'm always looking at our stunt team.
- 11:45Speaker 7: I'm like, let me do it. I want to do it,
- 11:46Speaker 7: you know, and they're like are you sure?
- 11:47Speaker 8: And like I wear like boots and cowboy boots on
- 11:49Speaker 8: the show because the character's from Texas.
- 11:51Speaker 6: And I'm like they're like.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Are you sure?
- 11:52Speaker 8: Do you want tennis shoes on? And I'm like, no, yeah,
- 11:55Speaker 8: I'm good. You know, like I want to do it.
- 11:57Speaker 6: So it's cool.
- 11:58Speaker 4: We have to ask you her toxic trade?
- 12:00Speaker 2: What's your toxic trade? Like mine's always being late, so
- 12:04Speaker 2: something like mine's spatial awareness.
- 12:05Speaker 8: I don't have any okay, spatial awareness, toxic always being late?
- 12:09Speaker 8: What is my toxic trade? Oh my god, give me
- 12:15Speaker 8: more examples. I had.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Someone said, get they turn into a monster when they're
- 12:18Speaker 2: hungry long time.
- 12:22Speaker 8: That definitely doesn't happen, honestly if you don't have one
- 12:27Speaker 8: that no, I definitely have toxic trades and no, no, no,
- 12:30Speaker 8: I'm trying to think of like what my what my
- 12:33Speaker 8: worst one do you read comments for days. No, I'm
- 12:37Speaker 8: not a big I'm really after going through some really
- 12:42Speaker 8: rough life stuff. I got off social media for a
- 12:49Speaker 8: year and I'm back on.
- 12:52Speaker 6: But I don't I'm really bad.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Like people will be like, oh, somebody said to me
- 12:56Speaker 8: the other day, oh, this one swimmer from the Olympics
- 12:59Speaker 8: follows you, and I was like.
- 13:00Speaker 7: How do you know that?
- 13:01Speaker 8: And she's like showing me and she's like, well, see
- 13:03Speaker 8: you see da da da, and then you go here
- 13:05Speaker 8: and then like it tells me this person and I
- 13:07Speaker 8: was like what, Like, I could not tell you who
- 13:11Speaker 8: follows me. I don't look at like maybe. In fact,
- 13:14Speaker 8: I actually think I turned comments off. Anytime I post
- 13:17Speaker 8: something that like, people are just gonna be like, oh,
- 13:20Speaker 8: my god, is so pretty you are.
- 13:21Speaker 6: I'm like, no, that's not why I'm posting it.
- 13:23Speaker 7: You know what I mean.
- 13:23Speaker 8: I want you to read, just read the caption and
- 13:26Speaker 8: take it in and have your feelings and don't put
- 13:28Speaker 8: a comment.
- 13:30Speaker 6: But I would say my toxic trait is.
- 13:34Speaker 8: That when people share with me a story or how
- 13:38Speaker 8: they feel, I want to commiserate or make them feel
- 13:44Speaker 8: like they're not alone, so I'll share mine, and instead
- 13:47Speaker 8: I've learned from my amazing sister who's my best friend,
- 13:50Speaker 8: that you should always ask questions instead of trying to relate. Yeah,
- 13:56Speaker 8: and because it kind of takes over other people's feelings,
- 14:01Speaker 8: and so I probably have done that a lot today.
- 14:06Speaker 7: But I guess I am here to kind of talk
- 14:07Speaker 7: about myself.
- 14:08Speaker 8: But it's something I'm trying to get better at. Is
- 14:11Speaker 8: when people share, to get more curious rather than to
- 14:15Speaker 8: just want to try and relate to relate to. Yeah,
- 14:18Speaker 8: it's very I don't know if it's necessarily like it's
- 14:22Speaker 8: not toxic, but I don't think it's maybe my best
- 14:24Speaker 8: quality and so it's something I want to get.
- 14:27Speaker 6: Better at, and that's my truth. So I'll just be honest.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Thank you so much for we could talk all day.
- 14:36Speaker 7: I know, yeah, yes you're saying that I am staying
- 14:41Speaker 7: that I should hang out.
- 14:43Speaker 8: As long as we're in about pans.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 15:04Speaker 2: We have Danielle's savory in that we did a panel
- 15:10Speaker 2: with your cast yesterday.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Yes, so you're already laughing.
- 15:13Speaker 4: I wonder what it was chaos?
- 15:16Speaker 1: Okay Gray very specifically, yes, yes, he is walking chaos,
- 15:21Speaker 1: so that makes sense.
- 15:22Speaker 4: Is that what it was like on set.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it's amazing. I mean, you know, if it's really
- 15:28Speaker 1: only more in early in the morning, you're not going
- 15:29Speaker 1: to get that, Like.
- 15:31Speaker 4: Okay, so's not a morning day.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Yeah, there's not a morning he's not a morning person.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay, call times you were like, all right, we got
- 15:37Speaker 2: a calm a calm Gray.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Yeah, basically he's not awake yet. But no, Gray, why
- 15:43Speaker 1: what happened?
- 15:44Speaker 2: It was hilarious because it was just Jana and then
- 15:45Speaker 2: all the boys, and so it was like we were like,
- 15:48Speaker 2: is this what it was like for the girls on
- 15:50Speaker 2: set with all of the nale energy? Yeah?
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it was good when it was all of us
- 15:54Speaker 1: girls some days too, because you could balance it out.
- 15:57Speaker 4: But it seems like you guys have a lot of fun.
- 15:59Speaker 8: We do.
- 15:59Speaker 4: Yeah, we did. Yeah, that it's over, we did.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And I was gonna ask, what how was that
- 16:04Speaker 2: getting the news and how soon in advance did you
- 16:07Speaker 2: get the news that.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The show we were filming, like the first episode. I
- 16:11Speaker 1: think we had even started the second episode when we
- 16:13Speaker 1: found out. So it was this fin season, so we
- 16:17Speaker 1: were in the first episode. We knew we had only
- 16:19Speaker 1: had ten episodes of season because of the strike. Yeah,
- 16:21Speaker 1: but we didn't think we were getting canceled. Yeah. Then yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: during the first episode they took us in at like
- 16:26Speaker 1: lunch and they were like, so weird, this will be
- 16:28Speaker 1: our final season. We're like, okay, well.
- 16:30Speaker 2: At least and I guess the puzzitive spinds. Y'all got
- 16:33Speaker 2: to really embrace the season, right, we did.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Yeah, and we it was basically like because what would
- 16:38Speaker 1: have been horrible is if we had basically been canceled
- 16:40Speaker 1: before the even the season even started, or if we
- 16:43Speaker 1: had been told at the end of the season and
- 16:44Speaker 1: didn't know. And so we got to really embrace it
- 16:47Speaker 1: and get to spend time with each other and know
- 16:49Speaker 1: it was the end.
- 16:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 4: How did that impact the filming of that season.
- 16:53Speaker 1: From There's so many different elements that it impacted in
- 16:55Speaker 1: that regard like the writing. Obviously that's a whole different thing.
- 16:58Speaker 1: But I think it just allowed us to mourn and
- 17:01Speaker 1: grieve like together in the process of it all with
- 17:03Speaker 1: the crew and stuff, and hug and make sure you
- 17:05Speaker 1: got your memories and your pictures and like got to
- 17:07Speaker 1: say all the things you wanted to say, because it's
- 17:09Speaker 1: when you're on hiatus and the show gets canceled, you
- 17:11Speaker 1: know't come back. You're like, I didn't get to say
- 17:13Speaker 1: goodbye to that place. Yeah, when's the next time I'm
- 17:15Speaker 1: going to see them?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Yeah, because everyone just goes their separate ways.
- 17:17Speaker 5: Yeap.
- 17:18Speaker 1: When you did you audition or did they call you?
- 17:20Speaker 1: How did the auditions? Okay, I auditioned. It was after
- 17:24Speaker 1: a really long audition process before they saw me, and
- 17:27Speaker 1: then they finally saw me, and then it was quick.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Once I got in there, I was it was nice.
- 17:31Speaker 1: It was a very fast and I didn't think I
- 17:33Speaker 1: was going to get it. I was like, there's no
- 17:35Speaker 1: way this is happening too easy. I was like, I
- 17:37Speaker 1: went for an audition and then another audition and another audition,
- 17:39Speaker 1: and then they were like, we're just gonna use your
- 17:41Speaker 1: tapes to test and I was like, okay, I'm like
- 17:43Speaker 1: I'm not getting it. That's fine, and they're like, you
- 17:45Speaker 1: booked it. I'm like, what do you mean? I booked it?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Isn't that weird? Though. I do feel like when things
- 17:49Speaker 2: are meant to be there is that ease to it,
- 17:51Speaker 2: and I think we questioned things in life because.
- 17:53Speaker 1: To say it again, no, it's true.
- 17:55Speaker 2: I think when things are supposed to be aligned, it
- 17:57Speaker 2: feels easy.
- 17:58Speaker 3: Yes, Yeah, it's like she just says so much without
- 18:01Speaker 3: saying much at all.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Again, what I mean, like, how profound?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Just dropping all the noise. Yeah, I'm thinking that.
- 18:08Speaker 4: It's pretty deep.
- 18:08Speaker 1: It's pretty deep. When you auditioned for the role. Did
- 18:11Speaker 1: you know she was a queer character? No, I had
- 18:14Speaker 1: no idea. Wow, Like I'm trying to remember if I
- 18:17Speaker 1: did actually hold on? Did I I wish Emily was
- 18:19Speaker 1: here right now?
- 18:20Speaker 2: No?
- 18:20Speaker 1: I didn't. My manager, I'm like, didn't I did? I know?
- 18:22Speaker 1: I don't think I did know.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Were you intimidated?
- 18:24Speaker 9: Was it?
- 18:25Speaker 1: How do you played a role?
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah, so it felt very much like stepping into
- 18:29Speaker 2: the familiar territory.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and I love that. I love when I get
- 18:32Speaker 1: to actually play characters that I feel are more real.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yeah, well, y'all, yes, let's do that. Y'all's chemistry is
- 18:39Speaker 2: like insane. Did y'all do a chemistry test? So they
- 18:43Speaker 2: just put y'all together and it just clicked.
- 18:46Speaker 1: That was yeah, And Safannie tells the story so well.
- 18:48Speaker 1: But like we were at a table read for our
- 18:50Speaker 1: first episode. We never met. We met that day at
- 18:52Speaker 1: the table read, and that first scene we had together,
- 18:54Speaker 1: which was just the bar scene, like it felt magnetic.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:57Speaker 1: At the table read, it was crazy and like the
- 19:00Speaker 1: room was silent, and I think someone was like, Oh,
- 19:02Speaker 1: this is going to work. So it was very instant
- 19:05Speaker 1: the chemistry.
- 19:06Speaker 2: So what happens. I have a question if say, y'all
- 19:08Speaker 2: did the table read and it was just like dead,
- 19:11Speaker 2: there was no chemistry, what are you doing? Is it
- 19:14Speaker 2: just you have to figure it out or the director
- 19:16Speaker 2: the writers have to figure it out.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's kind of if you look at
- 19:19Speaker 1: anybody that's come to the show, or relationships that have
- 19:21Speaker 1: happened with other characters that may have come and gone,
- 19:23Speaker 1: it's kind of that sometimes this is still like this
- 19:25Speaker 1: one's not what we wanted to be or it's not working,
- 19:28Speaker 1: which are is just work? So they would have just pivoted,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I mean sadly, like she wouldn't have stayed on Station
- 19:33Speaker 1: and she would have stayed on Great, I mean, which
- 19:34Speaker 1: is great, she would have stayed on Grays and I
- 19:36Speaker 1: would have gone on to whoever else The next person was, Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 1: I love it, but I'm glad it didn't happen.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Obviously, I'm queer and I have a girlfriend, so it's
- 19:43Speaker 2: having that representation, especially on a TV show like that,
- 19:46Speaker 2: is just like so important to people. And it was
- 19:48Speaker 2: so important to see people have the chemistry like y'all
- 19:52Speaker 2: to and it was like fun and you were like
- 19:54Speaker 2: rooting for y'all as a couple.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes you more invested in the relationship too. Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 2: But speaking of relationships, so you're in a relationship with
- 20:04Speaker 2: Kevin mckitt, right, I am.
- 20:06Speaker 4: We love him, so do I.
- 20:09Speaker 2: But the funny story is that we had, really we
- 20:14Speaker 2: had beef with his character for a whole time.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think a lot of people still have beef this.
- 20:18Speaker 3: I still had he not been on our podcast, I
- 20:21Speaker 3: still wouldn't do they Yeah, I still, had he not
- 20:26Speaker 3: done it, I probably still would hate his character.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Tanya be such a nice person.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Couldn't so nice?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Tanya told him, she goes before we start, I just
- 20:35Speaker 1: have to tell.
- 20:35Speaker 2: You I can stand.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Here's the thing. I've been bashing his character for like
- 20:41Speaker 1: seven years.
- 20:42Speaker 4: On this podcast. I was like I had to like clear, yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 4: I had to come clean. And he was so cool
- 20:47Speaker 4: about it. He was like I get it, I get it,
- 20:49Speaker 4: and like he was so cool and so nice.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And like totally won me over.
- 20:54Speaker 4: And I was like, now I like Owen Hunt.
- 20:57Speaker 1: He basically like after you meet him, you're like, oh,
- 21:00Speaker 1: that character can do no wrong. Now it would be
- 21:02Speaker 1: such a nice humano.
- 21:03Speaker 4: It was such a crazy like turn for me.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Wow.
- 21:06Speaker 2: When you come to events like this, are you? I
- 21:09Speaker 2: mean you you like brought friendship bracelets, which is I
- 21:13Speaker 2: think you're the first person that did that because everyone
- 21:15Speaker 2: else has gotten them from the signings and whatnot, but
- 21:18Speaker 2: you brought them for the fans, which I love. Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 2: when you come to things like this, does it ever?
- 21:24Speaker 2: Do you remember your first one coming to a conventional.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Yes, yes it was. I was so nervous. It was
- 21:29Speaker 1: any thing Milan. It was so nervous. Wow, so nervous
- 21:32Speaker 1: and was so much fun. It felt like a party.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I love it. I love getting to interact with everyone
- 21:36Speaker 1: and see the people that love the show.
- 21:37Speaker 3: And so when you do the meet and greets, do
- 21:39Speaker 3: you they will give you one and then you give them.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, usually they just hand one to me. But now
- 21:44Speaker 1: I'm going to be and so like.
- 21:46Speaker 4: The other wrist will be yes for the ones that
- 21:48Speaker 4: you keep.
- 21:49Speaker 1: I had to learn that. I was told because I
- 21:50Speaker 1: was originally putting on both wrestling. No no, no, one
- 21:52Speaker 1: has to be your key risk. Yeah, okay, good to know.
- 21:58Speaker 4: The Taylor Swift show.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Oh I didn't. I wasn't doing that. I didn't know.
- 22:04Speaker 2: I know, No, Pully next one. What is next for
- 22:09Speaker 2: you career? Like, what's your dream situation?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Oh? My dream situation is to do at all, so directing, acting,
- 22:15Speaker 1: producing everything. I'm currently filming a show called Found in
- 22:19Speaker 1: Atlanta on NBC that airs this October. So that was fun?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Is that season premiere?
- 22:24Speaker 1: No? Second season?
- 22:26Speaker 2: Wow? So season two they brought you in? Yeah?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Season I'm loving filming that right. Yeah, that's where I
- 22:31Speaker 1: just came from. And then I'm going to shadow on
- 22:34Speaker 1: a show at the end of the year to hopefully direct,
- 22:37Speaker 1: So we'll see. Those are two things in the pipeline.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Do you have like a preference when you're doing I know,
- 22:44Speaker 2: it's like so electric and fun to be in front
- 22:46Speaker 2: of the camera, which is probably what you grew up
- 22:49Speaker 2: wanting to do, right, Yeah, But then is it like
- 22:52Speaker 2: you catch this bug of wanting to be behind the
- 22:54Speaker 2: camera because you're on set and you're seeing what's happening.
- 22:56Speaker 1: I think be on set for so long has made
- 22:58Speaker 1: me want to be behind the camera more. Yeah, because
- 23:01Speaker 1: it's so collaborative. When you're behind the camera, where's an actor,
- 23:03Speaker 1: You kind of come on and you're collaborative with the
- 23:05Speaker 1: actors and the scenes and the writer. You're out of
- 23:07Speaker 1: touch with the whole process as a whole. And I
- 23:10Speaker 1: love seeing it from start to finish and working with
- 23:12Speaker 1: the three hundred plus crew members to make it come
- 23:15Speaker 1: to an amazing episode's.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it's insane, like sane.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Some episodes nine days, ten day episodes and three hundred
- 23:22Speaker 1: people for one forty two minute episode.
- 23:25Speaker 2: It's a specific personality to get excited about wanting to
- 23:29Speaker 2: do that. Yeah, definitely, to see three hundred crew members
- 23:33Speaker 2: and think about the collaboration of that.
- 23:35Speaker 4: True, it's a lot.
- 23:36Speaker 1: I am a little typist, so it works in my favor.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Oh that's good.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I literally was about to ask that.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Most people they're like, you're going, I'm like, yes, let
- 23:44Speaker 1: me just jump ahead and tell.
- 23:45Speaker 4: You all true virgo virgo energy in my life?
- 23:49Speaker 1: You do or yeah you do?
- 23:50Speaker 4: I need it?
- 23:50Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 23:51Speaker 4: You cancer? Okay, yeah, scorpio scorpio okay, okay, good for
- 23:56Speaker 4: a cancer to have a scorpio, you know.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Oh okay, I don't know as much about it.
- 23:59Speaker 2: I was like, I'm trying to think of like the
- 24:03Speaker 2: ones I know, very specific ones under the people close
- 24:06Speaker 2: to me. And then even then I'm like, you know,
- 24:09Speaker 2: I don't put that much trade into it.
- 24:10Speaker 1: That's why I didn't want. I was like, I don't
- 24:11Speaker 1: know if my face is anything. It just means that
- 24:13Speaker 1: I don't know what Exactlydanya will do this thing where
- 24:17Speaker 1: she'll ask people and then she'll goes let me guess,
- 24:18Speaker 1: let me guess, and she'll go through basically all of them.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yes, I knew that. I was feeling that for you.
- 24:26Speaker 4: One silly question, what's your toxic trait?
- 24:30Speaker 1: My toxic trait? Yeah, oh my god. I'm not like
- 24:34Speaker 1: I'm always late, you're always late.
- 24:36Speaker 4: I don't have spatial awareness.
- 24:39Speaker 1: My best friends here, I'm trying to figure out. She's like,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I don't know either. I don't know what my toxic
- 24:45Speaker 1: trait is.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Some of the other ones were like chronically chronically on time,
- 24:50Speaker 2: gets angry like monster when they don't get bad.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I can do that too. I'm trying to think,
- 24:58Speaker 1: though I have I have them. This is me not
- 25:00Speaker 1: saying I don't have toxic traits. I just for some
- 25:02Speaker 1: reason at his exact moment, cannot think of what do
- 25:04Speaker 1: you get to the airport late? No, I'm.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, maybe that's my toxic trade.
- 25:12Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm too type a sometimes yeah, oh goshly
- 25:17Speaker 1: to it. It's stupid.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I like to be walking like I like to walk
- 25:21Speaker 2: up a plane boarding.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah. No, that gives me so much anxiety.
- 25:25Speaker 4: That's the worst, awful.
- 25:28Speaker 2: But do you have friends that are like that or
- 25:29Speaker 2: do you not surround yourself?
- 25:30Speaker 1: And he's like, oh, he's the worst, and I was like, no,
- 25:33Speaker 1: we had we have to find a balance.
- 25:34Speaker 4: So what's his sign?
- 25:37Speaker 1: He's a leo?
- 25:37Speaker 2: Oh good?
- 25:38Speaker 1: Almost forgot for a second. I was like, what is
- 25:39Speaker 1: his sign? He's a leo? But yeah, he he definitely
- 25:43Speaker 1: will the last second he's like like that. He's like,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I'll walk up as they're boarding in the plane and
- 25:47Speaker 1: I'm like, no, we're not doing it. So we travel together.
- 25:49Speaker 1: We have to like compromise, compromise in a middle ground.
- 25:51Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 2: Do you see the fan edits of you and Stefania?
- 25:54Speaker 2: I do on.
- 25:55Speaker 1: TikTok, not on TikTok because I don't have I mean
- 25:57Speaker 1: I have TikTok, but I never go on it.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Where do you see them.
- 25:59Speaker 1: They post them on in Oh yeah, so I see
- 26:02Speaker 1: them there. I need to just go on TikTok. But
- 26:05Speaker 1: I did it once and I literally lost four hours
- 26:07Speaker 1: of my life. I was like your virgo cell get
- 26:12Speaker 1: I did.
- 26:13Speaker 2: I did the version of who You Are Will Go Downhill.
- 26:17Speaker 2: But I love the fan at it, so I'm like, wow,
- 26:19Speaker 2: this is so good. They're very good edit to like
- 26:23Speaker 2: a good song. Yes, the song, the song makes it
- 26:28Speaker 2: makes it. It's an I wait, are you swifty? Because
- 26:32Speaker 2: you have your brace? What's your favorite era? Okay, what's
- 26:35Speaker 2: your favorite era from the tour? And then what's your
- 26:37Speaker 2: favorite era? Or so I do well, you know how
- 26:40Speaker 2: like I'm having a different favorite era. When I went
- 26:43Speaker 2: to the show you did while she performed it shook.
- 26:47Speaker 1: So the ones called the farewell the Man is part
- 26:49Speaker 1: of bad reputation? Right, what did you say? The man?
- 26:52Speaker 1: The song the Man, that's part of the reputation. No,
- 26:55Speaker 1: that's Lover, that's lover.
- 26:57Speaker 5: See.
- 26:57Speaker 1: This is where I'm not seem like I'm swifty, but
- 26:59Speaker 1: I'm like, it's okay, the Man is my favorite song.
- 27:02Speaker 1: So the Lover album I think must be my favorite album. Okay,
- 27:04Speaker 1: Cruel Summer cruol Summer's on that one too.
- 27:07Speaker 4: I forgot that you existed.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yes, those are the ones that I'm like, what do
- 27:11Speaker 1: you mean you forgot to exist?
- 27:13Speaker 10: Yeah?
- 27:14Speaker 1: Those ones, those ones are are my favorite. Those ones
- 27:18Speaker 1: I liked, okay because I was like, as I was there,
- 27:20Speaker 1: I was with my best friend and her daughter, and
- 27:21Speaker 1: her daughter loved all the new stuff, and I actually
- 27:23Speaker 1: didn't know as much of the new stuff, like the
- 27:25Speaker 1: really popular stuff, right is it folk I don't really
- 27:29Speaker 1: know folklore evermore. Yeah, like the poppy songs that were
- 27:32Speaker 1: popular I knew, but yeah, yeah, I knew all the
- 27:34Speaker 1: old stuff. I was rocking out.
- 27:35Speaker 2: This yeah, like that's what I'm saying, nineteen eighty nine,
- 27:38Speaker 2: all that stuff.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Reputation was my favorite when it got.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Performed, it's my favorite.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I know what's the one she did?
- 27:45Speaker 4: The black and white reputation?
- 27:47Speaker 1: Oh, it was Tortured Poets were such a great performance.
- 27:51Speaker 3: You saw that one, you went recent Yeah in the Oh.
- 27:55Speaker 1: My gosh, that was like maybe because I'm a sucker
- 27:59Speaker 1: for like films and television and everything, but it was theatrical.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Old Hollywood black and it.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Was that was my favorite performance. Wow.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Okay, we haven't had that experience on the table.
- 28:14Speaker 1: You guys let us videos on your phone.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Thank you for taking a busy day. I think we'll
- 28:23Speaker 2: see you on a panel. Okay, they'll be moderating it
- 28:27Speaker 2: and probably just be laughing at all the fun chemistry
- 28:33Speaker 2: that you'll have.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I can't to see it on You have Gray this time,
- 28:35Speaker 1: so it won't be as as crazy, which is sad
- 28:38Speaker 1: because I love his energy.
- 28:39Speaker 2: It was hilarious. Sam Sam was in the audience and
- 28:41Speaker 2: she was like if if I was like, that was
- 28:44Speaker 2: like one of my favorite panels because it was just
- 28:46Speaker 2: chaos together.
- 28:49Speaker 4: Interact like that.
- 28:50Speaker 2: It seemed like everyone liked each other, which is always nice.
- 28:55Speaker 1: That's not exactly, that's not the case.
- 28:58Speaker 2: Is there any world where you were turned to Gray's anatomy?
- 29:02Speaker 1: If they want me to, yeah, like I would love
- 29:03Speaker 1: I mean, I would love for them to play out
- 29:05Speaker 1: the Karina Maya storyline in the background if they could
- 29:08Speaker 1: in a sense. But they have seventeen series regulars right now,
- 29:11Speaker 1: so that's a lot of stories they have to tell,
- 29:13Speaker 1: So I mean, they have a lot, you know, So
- 29:15Speaker 1: if they can find the space and they want to
- 29:17Speaker 1: and it's something they'd want to do, then I would
- 29:19Speaker 1: one hundred percent be happy to.
- 29:20Speaker 2: I'd love to see it.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I would love to see it too. I know the
