- 1:05So we're talking about Cavalino 2025 today in this episode, this
- 1:11podcast, wherever you like to call it.
- 1:13So, as usual, January is Cavalino time down in Palm Beach, Florida.
- 1:19And interesting enough, one, this year the weather was a bit crappy.
- 1:25It was cold, and as everyone knows that lives here in this country, what's
- 1:29going on, California is burning to the ground, but then actually the Southern
- 1:33United States States was into a freeze.
- 1:35I mean, some really rarely see, but it's coming more and more common,
- 1:38but they're just not equipped for it.
- 1:40So there were some people that we knew are supposed to come down from Georgia
- 1:44and some of those surrounding areas and they couldn't even leave their house.
- 1:47The roads were just impassable.
- 1:49They couldn't even come down.
- 1:50I mean, unbelievable.
- 1:51So, and down in Florida.
- 1:54I got the whole story.
- 1:54I'll go into here real quick.
- 1:56Florida was cold.
- 1:57Here's the, I was leaving.
- 1:58My flight was Wednesday morning.
- 2:00Last Wednesday was that January 20, whatever it was, or whatever that day was.
- 2:04It was negative four here in Cleveland.
- 2:07It was cold.
- 2:08We get to the airport, our flight starts getting delayed.
- 2:11My flight in total got delayed five hours.
- 2:13But here's the thing, I flew Frontier, which I rarely ever do.
- 2:16It was the only way I could get a direct flight.
- 2:18United was just asking for an astronomical amount of money to go direct and
- 2:22then trying something reasonable was going to be changing flights either
- 2:25in Chicago or Houston or somewhere.
- 2:27Like, I'm not doing that.
- 2:28So I just fly Frontier to direct flight.
- 2:29How bad could it be, right?
- 2:30Oh well, it was bad.
- 2:32First it was, they had to warm the plane up, because the ground crew
- 2:36from the night before and that just didn't do what they were supposed
- 2:39to do with hooking things up.
- 2:40Well then it turns out that the toilet lines for the waste and
- 2:44everything were frozen solid.
- 2:46So I guess they couldn't have that.
- 2:48So they were trying to do whatever they could with that to try and warm, get
- 2:51it up, because also it was about also filling up the plane with potable water.
- 2:55So that was the other problem.
- 2:56So they just couldn't do it.
- 2:57After about two hours, they move the gate and get a new plane.
- 3:02Now, in the meantime, other Frontier flights are leaving from the airport.
- 3:06Whatever is going on, who knows, but we actually kind of came to
- 3:10the conclusion we think it really wasn't a lot of maintenance stuff.
- 3:13It was more, hey, they just didn't have the crew to handle.
- 3:15They didn't have the stewards or the pilots or whatever.
- 3:17Because all of a sudden we get to the new plane, new gate, same exact thing.
- 3:21All pilots got to warm the plane up.
- 3:23It's cold.
- 3:24So this should take, you know, half hour, hour, then same thing.
- 3:28Well, the lines are froze.
- 3:29I don't know.
- 3:29Same crap.
- 3:30Five hours later, we finally get off and take off.
- 3:32So negative four, I mean, it was freezing here in Cleveland, just bitter cold.
- 3:37So it got down to Florida.
- 3:39It wasn't actually that bad.
- 3:40It was kind of nice.
- 3:40You know, it's better than negative four, but it was in the.
- 3:43Mid fifties, high fifties, something like that, or low sixties, so,
- 3:46obviously, hey, I'll take it compared to negative four, so, it wasn't bad.
- 3:49So, Thursday, same thing, it was high fifties, low sixties, still,
- 3:54not bad, but Friday, it was cold.
- 3:56It was in the low fifties, all day, and the other problem was, it was raining.
- 4:00There was rain going on, on Wednesday and Thursday, not so much Friday, but the
- 4:04problem is, you know, you have Cavalino, it's at the Breakers Hotel, and they
- 4:07have it on the golf course, part of the course, it's in front of the hotel.
- 4:10So it's like, oh, are they going to let these cars drive on the course?
- 4:13Obviously, they have an unbelievable drainage system and everything there.
- 4:15I was a bit surprised they did.
- 4:17Onward, because I did a few other things too that were really cool.
- 4:19We checked out Anthony Laurel's, if you don't know, check out hotshoestudios.
- 4:23com.
- 4:24He creates some most unbelievable artwork.
- 4:27A lot of Ferrari related stuff, everything like that.
- 4:29He does some really, really cool stuff.
- 4:31So he checked out his shop, went over to a Ferrari Palm Beach, met up with my
- 4:35buddy, Bud Root, who's been there forever.
- 4:37And I got to give a big shout out to Bud.
- 4:39I'm not sure how many of you follow or aware, but I'm a big animal advocate.
- 4:42I volunteer and help out on a few animal shelters in this area.
- 4:46And Bud's been actually taking care of this kitty.
- 4:50named Blondie for got 15 plus years, he said, taking her got her neutered because
- 4:54that's one little trick for you guys.
- 4:56If you see a feral cat or cat running around outside, if it's ears
- 4:59clipped at the top, so it's like flat, that means they got fixed.
- 5:02So, but Bud's been taking care of it.
- 5:03This cat shows up like clockwork twice a day to get fed.
- 5:06And he featured and just kudos to him.
- 5:08My heart goes out, this is my bud, such a good guy.
- 5:10So, we checked out Ferrari at Palm Beach.
- 5:12They had some cool stuff.
- 5:13They had a little hidden gem up on the second floor because it's a two
- 5:16story showroom, I guess you could say.
- 5:17Is they had a 812 Competitione up there and it's one of one color.
- 5:22It was Rosso Double.
- 5:25It was so cool.
- 5:25It was almost, it was like a really deep, almost like a root beer maroonish chair.
- 5:29I mean, gorgeous color, sweet, sweet car.
- 5:32Anyways, off market.
- 5:33So, if you're looking for a car, let me know.
- 5:34Looking for an 812 comp?
- 5:36Hey, I can get my hands, actually I can get my hands on two.
- 5:38Cause they're a bit pricey at that one.
- 5:39They're at 1.
- 5:408. Actually, I know of another one that's got less miles.
- 5:42It's a 2024.
- 5:44Where's that one at Friar Palm Beach is 2023, but a 2024 one with
- 5:4854 miles, something like that.
- 5:50I think it was red exterior color, 1.
- 5:515. So I can save you 300 grand if that's how my public school math works.
- 5:55But anyways, this whole time I'm getting ready to go to Cavalino.
- 5:59I'm not sure if you ever looked or were aware of it, but it was 480
- 6:05a ticket to attend this event.
- 6:06Yeah, you heard me right.
- 6:08480 for one person just to go and that was for the one day.
- 6:12That's just for one day, the Saturday.
- 6:14It's a multi day event.
- 6:15There's stuff going on Sunday too, so if you had to buy another ticket for
- 6:18that, was another couple hundred dollars.
- 6:19Freaking highway robbery.
- 6:20And here's the thing, Cavalino used to be run, you know, almost like how Amelia was.
- 6:24It was more like kind of family or whatnot, mall group running, everything
- 6:27like that, firing, doing this, yada, yada.
- 6:28Well, they sold out to Canoosa Events.
- 6:31Well, Canoosa Events basically almost tripled the price of the tickets.
- 6:34When I first started going, tickets were like 120 bucks,
- 6:37which is reasonable, that's great.
- 6:39480 this year for a ticket.
- 6:42So I kept dragging my feet.
- 6:43It's like, I really don't want to spend 480 to go and see stuff
- 6:48that I could probably finagle my way to see for free anyways.
- 6:51But I mean, the one key thing, and they kind of put me over that,
- 6:54hey, I got to go, is I found out that the F80 was going to be there.
- 6:57That's what they were saying.
- 6:59I got to go.
- 6:59I kept dragging my feet though.
- 7:01Come Friday night.
- 7:02We go out to dinner, be Dave Beattie from slot mods.
- 7:04And this one gentleman, John Romano, super cool guy, vintage racers.
- 7:07Got some gorgeous cars, went out to dinner.
- 7:10I got back to my hotel on those nine 30, 10 o'clock.
- 7:13So I was like, well, I guess I got to suck it up and buy a ticket.
- 7:16Okay, I guess the universe is telling me that I guess I shouldn't be going to
- 7:19this or something or spending that money.
- 7:21I'm like, all right, I live with it.
- 7:22Cause like, you know what?
- 7:23I can do whatever.
- 7:24I'll figure it out.
- 7:25If you watch the video up on my YouTube channel at Garage 65, you'll
- 7:29see it's a little more in depth.
- 7:31So anyways, last year.
- 7:33I did this, you know, I have, I went to the event, but in the morning I had gotten
- 7:37up and I just went and checked out all the cars getting unloaded, getting them
- 7:41driven over, doing that kind of stuff.
- 7:42So I was like, you know what, I'll just do that.
- 7:44So like around 630 AM, got up, I went up to the Breakers
- 7:48Hotel, got myself parked up.
- 7:49So I walked around.
- 7:50I went over to the one main area where they kind of do a lot of unloading.
- 7:53Now there's a big parking lot obviously for the Breakers Hotel where they
- 7:56already had a lot of the cars staged up.
- 7:58I think they set them up the night before or whatever.
- 8:00So I went where a lot of the trailers were at for dropping off
- 8:03the cars and getting them set up.
- 8:05So I was checking out.
- 8:05So I'm like, well, alright, really not much is happening.
- 8:07There was a cool F40 LM that I was hoping it was going to get unloaded when I was
- 8:11standing there, and I kind of dicked around and it never got unloaded, so I
- 8:15didn't know if it got onto the show field.
- 8:16So I walk over to the hotel, and obviously they're setting up, cars are driving up.
- 8:20I just walked right onto the field, which was awesome.
- 8:22I'm like, okay, cool.
- 8:23The F 80 was there.
- 8:24It was still partially covered.
- 8:26So like, I don't know, maybe I might not get to see it completely,
- 8:29whatever, but hey, I got to see, I got to see part of it, right?
- 8:31So I started walking around taking tons of video, taking lots of
- 8:35photos, checking out all the cars.
- 8:36This year's special was the F50 they're giving tribute to.
- 8:40So there's just tons and tons of F50s coming on.
- 8:43And down the road, I got to get set up.
- 8:44I'm waiting to hear back from them, from the people at Gentleman's
- 8:46Garage, Tom Flory, Flory, something, I think that's his name.
- 8:51If you watch his channel, he's got some gorgeous stuff that he just picked up.
- 8:54These Giallo F50, which there was only seven made F50s, I think, in Giallo.
- 9:0033 worldwide.
- 9:00Super nice guy, so I talked to him a bit.
- 9:02Saw JR from GT Motorcars, he was there.
- 9:04I saw a bunch of other people and talked to people, got some other
- 9:07things set up, so it wasn't bad.
- 9:09It's nice because it's low key at this point in time because it's just these guys
- 9:13setting the car up, setting the cars up.
- 9:15A majority of them are either A, they work for the owner.
- 9:19And they're handling the car right there.
- 9:20So there's a down to earth dude that, Hey, they're just doing their
- 9:23job, you know, getting set up.
- 9:24So, you know, you shoot the breeze with them.
- 9:26You chit chat and check things out and talk and everything like that.
- 9:28Or you got the guys, that's the only Ferrari they have and it's their baby.
- 9:32We're not talking some little 1979 or.
- 9:351983, 08, or anything like that.
- 9:37You know, they got some nice stuff, couple 512s, some older stuff, like,
- 9:41there's a, was it a 212 export?
- 9:43There's some beautiful stuff.
- 9:44There was actually this one gorgeous one too, listen up.
- 9:47I gotta give a shout out to Hugh Angle.
- 9:48Hugh, I'll send you the link for this, you can listen up.
- 9:50And I can never pronounce their entity.
- 9:53They have two showrooms.
- 9:54They got one here down in Miami, but they also have one over in Germany.
- 9:57Schaltkuhlesee.
- 9:58I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right, but it's S C H A L T K U L
- 10:03I S S E. They're at 277 Northeast 61st Street in Miami, Florida.
- 10:08If you're down there, definitely go check out this room.
- 10:10They get some really cool stuff.
- 10:12Hugh is a super nice guy.
- 10:14I'm trying to get him to come on the show, but he had a customer's car
- 10:16there that they just got restored.
- 10:18They got it painted back to the factory color that it was.
- 10:20It was like this icy blue.
- 10:22And then they did the blue interior, which I just absolutely love.
- 10:25I guess at some point in time, the life, it was a Dino by the way, I apologize.
- 10:29Some point in time in his life, someone painted it red and you know, did
- 10:32tan interior, everything like that.
- 10:33Went to that standard, you know, hey, red, tan, which, yeah, as
- 10:36far as that, I prefer colors.
- 10:38Yeah, red's a color.
- 10:39I hate light colored interior.
- 10:41I hate tan interior.
- 10:42I like dark colored interiors.
- 10:44Red, black, there's blue, dark blue, gorgeous.
- 10:47Ferrari does this gorgeous dark blue.
- 10:49You know, if they have a, on a 360 is more prevalent, not so much on
- 10:53a 430s, but they got a dark blue.
- 10:54That's just absolutely stunning.
- 10:55I'm horrible at saying the factory calls these colors.
- 10:58I am absolutely terrible.
- 11:00My brain does not work that way.
- 11:02And remembering all these different names and all these
- 11:04kinds of stuff for the color.
- 11:05It's blue.
- 11:06It's yellow.
- 11:07It's red.
- 11:07I know they have these fancy names for it.
- 11:09There's tons of guys out there can just rattle this stuff off.
- 11:11They walk up and they say, Oh, it's, my brain doesn't work that way.
- 11:15I had a lot of fun in college.
- 11:16I killed a lot of brain cells.
- 11:17My brain just can't store the information that way.
- 11:19So I call it as I see it, I own up to it.
- 11:22What can you do?
- 11:22Gorgeous, gorgeous Dino.
- 11:24I mean, just stunning Dino.
- 11:25And again, you super nice guy.
- 11:27So I'm walking around and talk some other people and you don't have your
- 11:30pretentious pricks there yet because they're all just sitting there
- 11:33getting all dressed up and coming.
- 11:35and hanging out at the, uh, event.
- 11:37They're preening and just peacocking around and stuff like that.
- 11:40Cause that's what you're going to find a lot of these people do.
- 11:43These vets, that's so much going to check out the car and stuff.
- 11:45They're just there to peacock just there to say, Hey, look at me.
- 11:48You know, they're holding court.
- 11:49They got these people all around them that are kissing their ass because
- 11:52they're the hanger ons or whatnot.
- 11:54And they stroke this person's ego.
- 11:56So they keep them hanging around.
- 11:57It's pretty pathetic.
- 11:58I don't get that.
- 11:59I mean, if you don't want to hang out with me cause if you like
- 12:01hanging out and having some fun, that, that is just, ain't me.
- 12:03You know what?
- 12:04I'm not there to kiss your ass and you get a lot of these
- 12:06people that got a lot of money.
- 12:07That's all they're looking for.
- 12:07And then they want to treat you like shit.
- 12:09They want to make themselves feel better.
- 12:11So they cut you down.
- 12:12And so they just laugh and giggle, you know, and think
- 12:15it's funny and stuff like that.
- 12:16Not my cup of tea.
- 12:17I do not do that.
- 12:19That's just not how I live my life.
- 12:21If you can't respect me, I'm not gonna respect you.
- 12:23But anyways, I snuck in so I saved myself the 480 which, woohoo, that's fantastic.
- 12:29And it started warming up so it was getting nice.
- 12:31Kind of a side note too, I actually had my dates kind of screwed up and
- 12:34I was actually supposed to fly back on Saturday and I messed up so I
- 12:38changed my flight back to Sunday.
- 12:39Which, uh, kind of worked out well because When I got done, I was able to
- 12:43get some other stuff accomplished, which helps out my other little side endeavor
- 12:47I help out with, which is ACBC, which is aluminum cans for burned children.
- 12:51We help support pediatric burn survivors by working with over a
- 12:54hundred local fire stations and departments, collecting aluminum cans
- 12:57and donations and everything like that.
- 12:59We do events to raise money and we send them to camp a couple of times a year
- 13:02and do whatever else we can for them.
- 13:03Check it out.
- 13:03It's ACBCOhio.
- 13:05org.
- 13:06You can get all the information.
- 13:07It's really cool.
- 13:07If you want to donate.
- 13:08Check it out.
- 13:08Hey, there's a link on there to donate to as well.
- 13:10So I'm walking around, you know, they're doing all the setup, which is cool.
- 13:13Cause it's not crowded.
- 13:14And I was able to get a lot of cool video.
- 13:16And when I first walked onto the field, you know, I was expecting
- 13:20within five minutes to get kicked off.
- 13:21Cause I was like looking around to see if someone had badges or anything
- 13:24like that, or kind of a, you know, a lanyard with a tag or a badge on it.
- 13:27No one did.
- 13:28So everyone's just coming in, walk around, get stuff.
- 13:30It's like, all right, I'm good.
- 13:31I mean, it crossed my mind, like, well, Hey, I could just
- 13:33probably just hang out and just.
- 13:35Not have to worry about it.
- 13:36But here's the problem, how the layout is.
- 13:37One, this is at 7.
- 13:3830, 8 o'clock in the morning.
- 13:40The event didn't start till 10.
- 13:41So I really didn't feel like hanging out there that long.
- 13:44Once you see all the cars, you go through them, you talk to who you
- 13:46needed to talk to, who I wanted to talk to, and everything like that.
- 13:49I was good.
- 13:50They don't get hundreds and hundreds of cars at this event.
- 13:52It's probably about 75 cars, maybe, if that, maybe 65 cars.
- 13:57So, I mean, it's not like you got to spend all day like you're at Amelia
- 14:00or something like that, or say Moda, where you got tons and tons of cars,
- 14:04and it's going to take you all day to go through and see them all.
- 14:06So, they have everything lined up nice, they kind of go.
- 14:09Kind of, I'm going to say by year, make, model, that kind of stuff.
- 14:12So they kind of have them all clustered together.
- 14:13There was a really cool little cluster of cars that we had a 512 M
- 14:17or they would add a few yellow cars.
- 14:18And again, shout out to JR. They had a party, which I didn't get invited to.
- 14:22It was on a Wednesday, but of course I wouldn't have been able to attend
- 14:24to it because my flight was late.
- 14:25He did a cool part, but he had a lot of the Giallo collection of cars.
- 14:28There was a, uh, 550, 512 M, I think a 512 TR, a 575 Super
- 14:34America, I think it was as well.
- 14:35So that's some sweet.
- 14:37Sweet yellow cars a little cluster grouping of them, and I'm a huge
- 14:41fan of the 512 M and the 512 TR I mean, I think it's great.
- 14:45So it's final iterations of the Testarossa I kind of almost prefer
- 14:48the 512 TR over the 512 M because the 512 M went with the flush headlights
- 14:53They tweaked it up a little bit.
- 14:54They tightened it up a little bit.
- 14:55Made it a little more, I'd say, racy for the street.
- 14:57Still a gorgeous looking car.
- 14:59You know, it's a different look.
- 15:00That's why I like the 512TR the pop up lights.
- 15:03It's just, the car is more crisp compared to like a Testarossa
- 15:06from your 85s to uh, your 90, 91.
- 15:10Something about it.
- 15:10If you park next to it, you can tell the difference.
- 15:11There's a little more crisp on the lines.
- 15:13Something about it.
- 15:14But, 512TR is a fabulous car.
- 15:16I'd love to get my hands on one one day.
- 15:18That'd be one to go tooling around.
- 15:19You can do some grand touring in that.
- 15:21I mean, do some road trips, comfortable V12, just putter along.
- 15:24Testarossa.
- 15:24Yeah, you can do the same thing with it, but I'd love to get my hands out of fire.
- 15:27But anyways, you know, they had some gorgeous, gorgeous stuff.
- 15:29One thing, cause it's climbing up in value.
- 15:32And that is a four or five, eight special.
- 15:33They had a couple of those there.
- 15:34So if you've been following market trends with that car, that car is going through
- 15:37the roof and it's only going higher.
- 15:39If you have the means and the way to do it.
- 15:41Go buy a 458 Speciale.
- 15:43They're gonna be three quarters of a million dollars in that neighborhood.
- 15:46Maybe six hundred thousand.
- 15:48So they're not cheap.
- 15:49They are not cheap at all.
- 15:50Especially when you want a really good car that's got history.
- 15:53It's got all the paperwork, documentation, and that.
- 15:55That car is unbelievable.
- 15:57That's your last naturally aspirated V8 in the Ferrari.
- 16:01It just screams.
- 16:02You put a good exhaust on that thing.
- 16:03Oh my god, it's a symphony.
- 16:04They have some of those there.
- 16:06Like I said, you know, again, they don't have.
- 16:07It's a ton of the newer stuff.
- 16:08It's all the older stuff that they seem to focus on.
- 16:11So, which is cool.
- 16:12I love the new stuff.
- 16:13It's great, but you know, I'm more towards the older stuff.
- 16:16You know, again, Testarossas, the 550s, the 575s.
- 16:20That stuff's just beautiful.
- 16:21They have some gorgeous 355s there, which is another one I love to get my hands on.
- 16:24And that's another one that's going through the roof.
- 16:26Creeping up, it's holding its value, that's for sure.
- 16:28But those are the ones, your 355, 430, your 575s.
- 16:33You can save yourself a ton of money.
- 16:35None's like a factory manual.
- 16:37They can say, oh yeah, EAG, everything like that, they do
- 16:40this great kit, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:41Now, there's a couple other manufacturers that are starting to
- 16:43step up to create these kits for them.
- 16:44And they're getting better and better.
- 16:46And yeah, you probably really wouldn't notice this, it's
- 16:48there, it's just a mental thing.
- 16:49And I want to give a shout out to Granberry Hall Performance, they are
- 16:51stepping up their game here soon.
- 16:53I don't know if they're starting yet, but I know they are working on it to become
- 16:55like your Midwest connection to get your six speed swaps done on Ferraris.
- 17:00I don't know if they're going to step up and do the Lambo stuff
- 17:02that's starting to pop up on Mercys and stuff like that, because I know
- 17:05EAG I guess built an incredible, incredible six speed conversion
- 17:09kit for the Lamborghinis as well.
- 17:12Which means, again, that's a situation where we're supposed
- 17:14to be talking Ferraris.
- 17:15But again, that's a scenario where a factory manual.
- 17:18Mercia Lago is twice if not three times the money as compared to the E gear.
- 17:23So you can get yourself an E gear, save a crap load of money, and then just
- 17:26do a 6 speed swap for 50, 60 grand.
- 17:29Maybe, even if it's a little bit more, you're still saving 150, 100 grand.
- 17:32I mean, you're saving a lot of money.
- 17:34A little sidebar, I don't know if any of you guys watch it, but Mr. J. W. W.
- 17:38James, he stumbled across and bought, cause he did the, gumball he did, or
- 17:43I don't know, he was over, or no I'm sorry, it was for um, Pebble Beach.
- 17:47He hung out with the DDE boys, and Damon Fryer let him drive
- 17:52his Mercilago the whole week.
- 17:53All the way up from down in, uh, SoCal, all the way up to Pebble Beach.
- 17:58And he just fell in love with it, screaming it's a factory manual car.
- 18:01So he says, I gotta get one.
- 18:03Somehow, someway, he found a, a, I want to say it was a right hand drive,
- 18:06Mercedes Lago, E gear, but it had Like a hundred miles on it and I guess, you
- 18:11know, he said, I'm going to buy it.
- 18:12I'm going to put the swap in it, that all this stuff.
- 18:14And I guess he just got blasted about that because people like,
- 18:17I don't do that to that car.
- 18:19I mean, that's and just getting, you know, offers out or anything.
- 18:21So I'm curious to see what he ends up doing that.
- 18:23But anyways, we got a little off side track there to start talking about
- 18:26Lamborghinis back to the show show field.
- 18:29It's really cool in this situation about doing this stuff because
- 18:32I had not ever done that before.
- 18:33I said I went over last year and probably just watch it unload.
- 18:37I never really nailed it.
- 18:39Check 'em out, driving the cars up on the field and everything.
- 18:41Getting that kind of set up.
- 18:42So this is really deep.
- 18:43Now the one way this is set up, kinda going back my comment earlier, you have
- 18:47your lower level where the golf course is.
- 18:49Then you have an upper level where it is like they have a little practice
- 18:52putting green, that kind of stuff.
- 18:54So it's like when you walk outta the hotel, there's a little
- 18:56practice putting green area.
- 18:58So they park up a bunch of cars up there.
- 19:00It's usually, it's all.
- 19:00usually the very older stuff.
- 19:02Stuff that's significant, i. e. 250 GTO right up front, which I had the
- 19:06pleasure of really kind of getting up and close and personal with.
- 19:10It was Jeff Fisher's car.
- 19:11We were at a party Thursday night with that and then the next day hung out with
- 19:14the gentleman that did the restoration.
- 19:15He was doing some detail work on it.
- 19:17Stunning car.
- 19:18Brian Ross had his 250 Testarossa there.
- 19:21Unbelievable car.
- 19:22I missed the opportunity to meet and talk with him and trying to get
- 19:25him to participate in Rockin Revs.
- 19:28So I got to talk with page in his office again.
- 19:30I don't know what I was doing.
- 19:31I was doing something and he walked by just, I told him and I'm kicking
- 19:34myself in the ass about that.
- 19:35Cause he's right up here in Ohio with us out there by Youngstown.
- 19:38So it's like perfect.
- 19:39And, and yes, we have the same last name and no, we're not related.
- 19:43Now, I don't know if he's got the same lineage and going back to Scotland like
- 19:46I do, but that would be kind of cool.
- 19:47But seemed like a super nice guy.
- 19:49I just missed the opportunity, which sucks.
- 19:51So hopefully I get another chance one of these days to meet him, speak
- 19:54with him and see what he can do.
- 19:55If not, I guess we're about to wait again until next year for Cavalino.
- 19:58He's got an unbelievable collection of Ferraris.
- 20:00Ultimate goal getting a private tour of his collection of Ferraris because
- 20:03he's got his one 250 He has one like, you know, you have all your concourse
- 20:08events Uh, Estella, or um, God, I can't remember the name off the top of my head.
- 20:12You know, you have all your concourse events, you have the big ones.
- 20:14So all the cars that went best in showing that, they go to Villa,
- 20:17Diesta, and so it's like, basically, the winner is the best of the best.
- 20:22And then they pick one of that, and his car won, was it this past, in 2024?
- 20:25Huge win!
- 20:26That's, I mean, that's significant for that car.
- 20:28So up top, that's where it is.
- 20:29But here's the thing is, is you have to walk out off of the lower
- 20:33show field and walk back into there.
- 20:35So you have to have your little wristband thingy to get it.
- 20:38Cause you walk out and back in.
- 20:40So it's not like you can just kind of walk all around.
- 20:42There's a path like that.
- 20:42So I was like, Oh crap, I might even be able to get up there.
- 20:45So I walked around to a bunch and the lower level checking all the cool stuff.
- 20:49Which I'm going to come back to in a second.
- 20:50Luckily, it's still setting up, I was able to go up there.
- 20:52But, when going up from the show field, up there, walking towards the
- 20:55hotel, Ferrari themselves actually set up a bunch of the new cars.
- 20:59And they had the new 12 cylinder there.
- 21:01It's a love hate thing, but this one they had there.
- 21:04Either check out my Instagram or check out the YouTube channel.
- 21:06In this green, it was stunning.
- 21:08It was absolutely stunning.
- 21:10You know, in that car in person, it's absolutely beautiful.
- 21:13You know, I know there's a lot of people that are knocking and hating on it, but I
- 21:15said this thing was absolutely stunning.
- 21:17I thought it looked gorgeous in the screen.
- 21:19Absolutely beautiful.
- 21:20And they have their obligatory, they have the 296, had their, uh, was it the
- 21:23Portofino now, whatever the hell they're calling, um, the California spider.
- 21:27But this is when they had the F80 and thankfully they took off the cover of
- 21:31it and they were starting to set up.
- 21:33They're putting a little barrier around it, everything like that.
- 21:35So they were getting it all make it look pretty.
- 21:37And I gotta say that car is unbelievable in person.
- 21:40The pictures don't do it justice seeing it online.
- 21:42It's one of those cars you have to see in person.
- 21:44Oh my Lord, is it gorgeous?
- 21:46I mean, it's a stunning, this thing is low.
- 21:48God, it's low to the ground.
- 21:50I mean, roof heights, can't imagine it might come up to your hip.
- 21:52So cool.
- 21:53And that thing is wide.
- 21:55That is a very wide car.
- 21:57This thing was absolutely beautiful.
- 21:58Seeing that thing in person, seeing how all the arrows working
- 22:02on it and everything like that.
- 22:02I would have loved to if they would have started it up, but that didn't happen.
- 22:05But it was just so cool to see that.
- 22:07So that was mission accomplished.
- 22:09That's what I wanted to see was that F80.
- 22:10That thing was awesome.
- 22:11So I gotta tell you, if you get the chance to go see this thing
- 22:14in person somewhere, go see it.
- 22:16You even gotta drive a few hours.
- 22:17Go see it.
- 22:18It is unbelievable.
- 22:19It is a great car.
- 22:20I know it got a lot, it knocked a lot in all its comparisons.
- 22:22Oh, it's got the V6.
- 22:23All that.
- 22:24It still has over a thousand horsepower.
- 22:25What is it?
- 22:26Almost twelve hundred horsepower with the V6 and the electric motors and that stuff.
- 22:29Yeah, a V12, an NA V12 and their screaming would have been perfect,
- 22:34but packaging wise and all that.
- 22:35It works.
- 22:36Just let's say, it works.
- 22:38Let's go for example here, the Ford GT.
- 22:40Everyone's blasted them.
- 22:42How can you put the V6 in there and stuff?
- 22:44That car is still holding it's own and it's double what it's sticker price was.
- 22:47It's still holding it and that car is unbelievable as well.
- 22:49So, again, don't knock until you try it.
- 22:51If you listened to my last podcast episode, we were talking
- 22:53about allocations with the F80.
- 22:55And I think people see it in person because that's the conversation I had.
- 22:58People want to physically see it.
- 22:59I know some of them are like, oh, I want to drive it first.
- 23:01Eh, I don't know if that's going to happen, but, you
- 23:04know, if you got enough money.
- 23:05Uh, anything can happen, but that was cool to see.
- 23:07Yep.
- 23:07I checked out the Pearl Sangway.
- 23:09You know, they have one there.
- 23:09You know, obviously it's been out for a while now.
- 23:11I'm curious to see, I'm not sure when the V8 version of that's going to come out.
- 23:14So I'm curious to see what happens with that because these have all
- 23:16been the 12 cylinder versions.
- 23:18Ferrari Palm Beach had one.
- 23:19It was 750, 000 crazy money for an SUV.
- 23:23I mean, things unbelievable.
- 23:25Yes, I'd love to have one.
- 23:27Who wouldn't?
- 23:27I would love to do some cross country driving and that thing.
- 23:30Just have some fun with it.
- 23:31But seven, three quarters of a million dollars.
- 23:34But I got to sit in it there, which was cool.
- 23:36That was the first time I got to sit in one.
- 23:38One of these days I want to get someone to let me drive one.
- 23:40I got to get ahold of a client.
- 23:41I know he took delivery one recently, so I need to butter him up.
- 23:44Go see if he'll let me drive it.
- 23:45But anyways, this is why I went up top.
- 23:47Thank God they're still setting up.
- 23:48Cool thing is Santino Ferrucci, yes, the IndyCar driver.
- 23:52One side note, that boy is small and short.
- 23:55If he weighs 140 pounds, I'd be shocked.
- 23:58Muscle around that IndyCar, thank God they got power steering and this, power
- 24:02that, everything like that, because this guy's, he's not a big dude.
- 24:05And again, hey, it's weight savings.
- 24:06But anyways, he came tooling in with JR's, and I don't know if
- 24:09it's his inventory or it's just probably a client's, but the 599XX.
- 24:14And you want to talk about something that sounds mean?
- 24:17Again, check out my Instagram or check out the YouTube channel.
- 24:20You should hear that thing rumble.
- 24:22Oh my Lord.
- 24:23It was so cool.
- 24:24So, so cool.
- 24:26Him pulling in again.
- 24:27I'd love to hear that thing at full chat.
- 24:29It would be unbelievable just to hear that thing ripping down the road.
- 24:33I could only imagine.
- 24:34Listen.
- 24:39Is that cool or what?
- 24:40Now that's just a short one, there's a longer one when he's
- 24:42puttsing in, but like I said, that thing just sounded Unbelievable.
- 24:46They have probably about three quarters of the cars up top.
- 24:48Like I said, Brian Ross had his car there.
- 24:50Jeff Fischer's 250 GTO was actually outside of where it was, so that
- 24:53was kind of just out in the open.
- 24:54Because again, they have it set up, you walk out in this putting green, it's roped
- 24:58off, so that's how you got to get in.
- 24:59You got to have your little wristband.
- 25:01You paid 485.
- 25:02Frickin dollars for but then you got your outside air.
- 25:05They have a beautiful courtyard that this is what kills me 500
- 25:08bucks These people that's nothing that's like they probably change it.
- 25:12That's nothing to these people.
- 25:13They could care less So again, they're like holding court and I'm not gonna
- 25:17name names because I know who they are I had the opportunity to meet a couple
- 25:21of these people and they basically turned their nose up because, you know,
- 25:23they think their shit don't stink.
- 25:25One of those things is like, come on, you know, give it up.
- 25:27I cannot stand people like that.
- 25:29You are blessed.
- 25:30Here's the funny thing.
- 25:31You can tell the difference between someone that is self made and created
- 25:36their wealth by busting their ass or someone that won the sperm lottery.
- 25:41Because, it's just, they've grown up in this scenario, it's just, again,
- 25:44they think their shit don't stink.
- 25:45It's just unbelievable, you know, seeing some of these people.
- 25:48Like, the one person that, again, he's one of those ones,
- 25:51he thinks he's high almighty.
- 25:52He's sitting at this little cluster, one couch thing, and tables around it.
- 25:57You know, he's sitting there, and all these people around him, you can tell
- 25:59they're all just kissing his ass.
- 26:00And, you know, he just got, I don't want to say ignoring him, but, it's
- 26:03like when it's such an era, you can see someone's like talking to him,
- 26:06and he's just looking past them.
- 26:07Cause he's like, Oh, I can't be bothered with you.
- 26:09You're not important enough.
- 26:10No, he's looking for that important person to talk to because he
- 26:12feels you're not important enough.
- 26:13And there's a ton of these people.
- 26:15They're peacocking.
- 26:17I get it.
- 26:17It's a Ferrari event.
- 26:18You should dress nicely.
- 26:20But I mean, you got these people dressed to the nines.
- 26:23Some people like me, I was wearing my t shirt.
- 26:25I'm like, I'm just loud and proud.
- 26:27I was wearing my exotic marketplace hoodie.
- 26:29Cause this is in the morning.
- 26:30So once I got done checking everything out, I walked around everything, you
- 26:33know, got that stuff after set up.
- 26:35It's like, well, okay, I got some time because the other cool thing
- 26:38is the parking lot is unbelievable.
- 26:40The parking lot itself could have been a show.
- 26:42So I went back to my hotel for a little bit to relax down like that.
- 26:45I was like, all right, relax for a couple hours.
- 26:47I did a bunch of posts and whatnot on my social medias.
- 26:49So then I came back after the event started.
- 26:51And it was pretty crowded.
- 26:52So maybe it was sold out.
- 26:54I don't know if that was a marketing ploy or something like that.
- 26:56It just seemed weird, though, that on Friday night, before I went out
- 27:00to dinner at six o'clock or whatever it is, but I'm going to go even
- 27:03until there were still tickets.
- 27:04Then when I came back, no tickets, it seems to be they might just
- 27:07be kind of doing a marketing ploy that says, Oh, no, we're sold out.
- 27:10So you can say, Oh, we sold out.
- 27:11There weren't that many people.
- 27:12I mean, it was.
- 27:12It was not sold out.
- 27:13I doubt it highly.
- 27:15So I went back after the event had started and meandered around.
- 27:17Obviously, I couldn't go out on the show field.
- 27:19I've already seen all the cars, so I really didn't care.
- 27:21And so I, you know, ran into a few other people, chit chatted, and
- 27:25I checked out, went to auctions.
- 27:26You know, they do the silent auction and stuff.
- 27:27And what's crazy is I could not believe how many, I don't want to say
- 27:31timeshare rentals, but like villa.
- 27:33Luxury villa rentals they had that were up for auction.
- 27:36Like one was the minimum bid was 17, 000, you know?
- 27:40And they had one that was like, uh, in Croatia, another one that was
- 27:44Belize or Bob, I don't know, they had like five different auction
- 27:47items that were for these villas.
- 27:49Uh, out wherever.
- 27:51I'm unbelievable.
- 27:51They had a lot of other cool stuff.
- 27:53Some cool posters, everything like that.
- 27:54So a lot of neat stuff.
- 27:55The cheapest thing, I think it was 500 starting opening bid.
- 27:57Be curious to see how all that played out and what was sold.
- 28:00And I'm sure someone grabbed those villas cause all those
- 28:02people have very deep pockets.
- 28:04Not all of them, but a good portion of them.
- 28:06But anyways, again, they had some really cool stuff that was
- 28:08up there for your auction items.
- 28:10So that was neat to see.
- 28:11And again, walk around, but kind of going back to how people were dressed.
- 28:14It warmed up.
- 28:15It was in the low seventies by this time.
- 28:18So it's warm.
- 28:19I have my t shirt on in jeans.
- 28:21I'm wearing my FerrariMarketplace.
- 28:23com t shirt, wearing it proudly, sporting the brand, going
- 28:27around just checking things out.
- 28:29But what kills me is you have these women that attend.
- 28:32You can tell they're either husband hunting or doing God knows what.
- 28:36They're wearing heels.
- 28:37When I mean heels, I mean massive, tall heels.
- 28:40You're walking on grass, lady.
- 28:41Give it up.
- 28:42They're just dressed to the nines.
- 28:43You kind of say, okay, trying to snag yourself the trophy.
- 28:46And then it's always funny.
- 28:47Someone walking around, especially you see a lady that's in her 30s or
- 28:52maybe even 40s, but then she's walking around with some dude in his 70s.
- 28:56Married, you can tell.
- 28:57You can see they got the wedding rings or anything like that.
- 28:58And no, it's not his daughter.
- 29:00You can just tell by how they interact.
- 29:02Just a total gold digger.
- 29:03And he doesn't care.
- 29:04Trophy wife for him.
- 29:05Unbelievable stuff.
- 29:06It's always fun to sit down for a little bit and just do a little people
- 29:09watching because you see some really funny stuff and you just laugh going,
- 29:13Oh my God, it's like she must have to drink a crap load of booze and make
- 29:18him hurry up or something because get a fluffer or something for her husband.
- 29:21So she's only got to go in there for the last like 30 seconds and then done
- 29:25with it because it's unbelievable.
- 29:27But how much money can blind someone and just how much someone's willing
- 29:30to put up with and tolerate because they want to have that lifestyle.
- 29:34Unbelievable.
- 29:34Out to the parking lot, which is unbelievable out there as well,
- 29:38F 50, F 40, a Bugatti Veyron.
- 29:42Unbelievable stuff in line of just cars out in the parking lot itself.
- 29:45So I mean, that was cool in its own right.
- 29:47Just checking that stuff out.
- 29:49It was really neat to see because again, they're just parked there.
- 29:51You can get up close, check things out, look in the windows, everything like that.
- 29:54So it was really, really cool.
- 29:56I enjoyed it.
- 29:57It was a lot of fun.
- 29:57I checked it all out.
- 29:59Like I said, it's something that's really cool to go to and
- 30:01attend if you can get in for free.
- 30:03But if you're ever in that area around that time, Cavalino's going on.
- 30:07Definitely just go there and just, you don't even have to go in.
- 30:09You can just hang out on the outside cause you can see the
- 30:11field and you can see everything from everywhere, walking around.
- 30:14You can check things out.
- 30:15You just can't walk right up on the cars.
- 30:16But like I said, that 250 GTO.
- 30:18Which was a Series 2, one of the three original Series 2 built from the factory,
- 30:23not a Series 1 that got re bodied.
- 30:24You know, that was just out, so I didn't want to go out and check it out.
- 30:27But it's definitely worth it to go check it out for your Ferrari fan especially.
- 30:29You see some really, really unbelievable cars that you rarely ever get to see.
- 30:34Then it's neat because, one, like hey, if you're watching the setup,
- 30:37you know, you get to see them actually in motion, moving, hear
- 30:40them running, everything like that.
- 30:41So, which is really cool.
- 30:42But, all in all, like I said, it's well worth it to go.
- 30:45I mean, it was, it was a good time.
- 30:47Me and Dave had a really good time.
- 30:48I was hanging out with Mr. Beaty from Slot Mods.
- 30:50We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.
- 30:52A few days, you know, we were down there.
- 30:54He said we hit up Jeff Fisher's invite only party, which was really cool.
- 30:57You got to check out because, again, his collection is unbelievable.
- 31:00He stores it in this old building that used to be a cigar factory.
- 31:03Really cool stuff, but Like I said, it's definitely worth the
- 31:06trip if you're in that area.
- 31:08Uh, obviously in years past, the weather's been a lot better.
- 31:10So there's a lot more activity days leading up and that's
- 31:13where did they do on Friday?
- 31:14They do a, uh, a drive or rally wherever it goes.
- 31:16That's really cool to see just the line of cars going.
- 31:19They didn't quite have as so many this year because of the fact of the weather.
- 31:22Some people held back, but that's cool to see as well because you
- 31:25know, just seeing them, these people driving their cars is really cool.
- 31:27Especially the older stuff.
- 31:28You get the stuff from the sixties and seventies.
- 31:30It's just really cool to see, but that's kind of my summary on Cavalino.
- 31:34Gorgeous cars, pretentious people, and hey, the sun came
- 31:37out, so it was a beautiful day.
- 31:39So it all in all, it came out well.
- 31:41I'm going to wrap it up here.
- 31:42I really appreciate you listening.
- 31:43The next episode, I want to get into talking about These YouTubers and
- 31:49clickbait and calling out and saying, Oh, this far is that this is, I mean, I'm not
- 31:53going to call people out, but you probably will figure out who I'm talking about,
- 31:57but there's a bunch out there that make these statements with their thumbnail
- 32:01or whatever, or at least even in the video itself and talking, which is just
- 32:04totally, totally false and a blatant lie.
- 32:08I want to get into that because that really chafes my ass.
- 32:10And the problem is, yeah.
- 32:11A lot of people fall for it and they believe it.
- 32:13So they drink that juice.
- 32:15So they start arguing the fact, no, no, it was like, no, we're going
- 32:18to get in that in the next episode.
- 32:20And then, like I said, stay tuned.
- 32:21So hopefully in the next few weeks, we'll have the gentleman
- 32:24from the gentleman's garage.
- 32:25So hopefully I can connect with him and get him on.
- 32:28We're going to do that one up.
- 32:29We'll have Eric on board as our moderator.
- 32:31We're going to actually, uh, not only record that, we're going to
- 32:33do some video with that as well.
- 32:35Recording it and we'll post it up on the channel as well.
