- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Hello and welcome to Slander and Slay.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: I am Tracy Sandler joined by the fantastic Nikki Kay.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: How are you, Nikki?
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Wait, look at my shirt.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: I think you'll like this.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Wait, now I have to put my glasses on.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: I can't see it.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Okay, okay.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: What is it?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Bend and snap, beautiful.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Bend and snap works every time.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: I mean, that is a spectacular shirt.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: I think you need to send me the link as to where one procures that after the show.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: We do.
- 0:51SPEAKER_00: We should actually get little slander and sleigh shirts that look like that.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: I like that.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: Throwing that out there as something fun to do.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: Nikki, we are in.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, there is always the argument.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Is October the greatest sports month?
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: Is March into early April the greatest sports months?
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: We could make them both the greatest sports months.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: But right now, we are in October.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: We have the WNBA.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: We have baseball playoffs.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: We have NFL.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: We have college football and we have NBA preseason with the season just a couple weeks away.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: So much to talk about.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: I know today we're going to focus on baseball and football, but it's just like it's such a fun time.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: And then also the DS going to back-to-back games one and two has kind of like, I think that's where I feel like I haven't been able to catch a breath.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: And I was going to say, I'm going to need you to kind of fill me in on a lot of what happened in the football world this Sunday because it's the turnaround being at Dodgers Stadium with a 1 p.m.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: first pitch.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: And I know you've you you put in your good shift at Dodgers Stadium, but it's like, I don't know what what day it is, what time it is.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: It's it's October.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: That's all that matters.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Well, it's funny because last year the Dodgers were like the American League this year.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: The Dodgers were Saturday and Monday.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: So you had that day in between.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: This year they were not.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: Uh let's start with baseball because we are in the playoffs.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: So much going on in the NFL, so we will for sure get there.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: I have my Dodgers shirt on.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you very much.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Love that yes.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I say my Dodger shirt as if it's the only one I own when we all know that is certainly not.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: You know, Tracy has Tracy might have her own separate room for all of her Dodger merch.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Not might.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: I do.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: In my office.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: So in my office, I have two, you know, like clothing racks that you see in a store.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I have two racks.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: One is all Michigan and a couple NFL things basically related to JJ McCarthy.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: And then the other is Dodgers and some Lakers stuff.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: So not might.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Well, your Dodger fits does crush.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: So that's that's appropriate.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: I really, I really appreciate that.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: The Dodgers crushed on Saturday, not so much on Sunday.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: So I want to start there.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Obviously, we're very Dodgers focused, but here we are in the playoffs.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: And and I want to start there because I want to just say, like Dodger fans, and I am a Dodger fan, as we know, everyone needs to calm down.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: It is a five-game series.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: It was always going to be a tough series.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: It's actually, to me, very reminiscent in kind of different ways, but of the 2024 NLDS against the Padres, in which the Dodgers win game one, they lose game two in spectacular faction, they lose game three in San Diego.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: The Dodgers have to do a bullpen game in game four and they shut out the Padres, which I bring up because everyone's up in arms that Sunday was a bullpen game and the Dodgers still lost, which they shouldn't have, but I'm just saying, and then they come back to Dodgers Stadium for a game five and win.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: And I really have kind of always felt like this series was gonna go five.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: The Dodgers should have played better.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: If they can't, if they're gonna go oh for eight or whatever with men in scoring position, leave that many men on base, they're not gonna win anything.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: But I do think everybody needs to calm down.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Everyone's acting like the series ended last night and it's not even close.
- 4:16SPEAKER_01: Well, I think I think though there's a couple of important things to keep in mind because I too have been processing kind of what we saw.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: Um, and it um excuse me, the the it this kind of is like a tale as old as time with the Dodger bats getting like a little icy during the postseason, no matter what name.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: No matter what.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: And but but the concerning thing is is that this regular season, more so than ever, their offense has been flip a coin.
- 4:45SPEAKER_01: When it's hot, it's hot.
- 4:47SPEAKER_01: When it's not, it's not.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: And then last night, you know, you just the juxtaposition, but between watching what the Milwaukee Brewers did in terms of like a strategic, coherent offense offense instead of what the Dodgers did was, you know, go swing go big swing, like you know, like let me get it done on home runs.
- 5:10SPEAKER_01: So I'm interested and I I the that Padre series was one of my favorite series I've ever covered in sports.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: But that team also had a different uh edge and chip to it that I I'm curious to see if that's ignited in a veteran team.
- 5:27SPEAKER_01: That I mean, these guys have gotta be tired too, you know.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: So I'm tired, I mean for sure.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I I totally agree with that.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: And it was a different team for sure.
- 5:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the series is different, but it kind of going into this series, it felt to me like it was gonna be that kind of series, and that each game was gonna be a battle and it was gonna be a slog.
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: And you know, we will see what happens.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: There was a lot of discussion about should they have started Yamamoto on Sunday?
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I'm actually really happy they didn't because I as even though the pitching was not great, they still only gave up three walk three runs.
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: The offense was gonna perform like that.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: They were losing no matter who was pitching, yeah, most likely.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: So I'd rather have a Yama have Yamamoto in game three, but I think there's another conversation that is a very difficult conversation to have.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: For me, I mean, I might cry at such a difficult.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: No, I was gonna ask you about this.
- 6:22SPEAKER_00: I I yeah, but we love our Shohei.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Shohei Otani is the greatest player of all time, and when he is right, he is unstoppable, but he has not been right in quite some time.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: He's hurt.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: I mean, this is not like it's not like he's just in a slump and something like he's hurt, he's been playing through injury.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: I know Hosway DePala, you know, popped out to end the game uh on Sunday night.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: And I listen, I know Hosway had an amazing like basically first week in Major League Baseball in September, and it was exciting.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: And I know now we're in October and things are different, but does a conversation need to be had on Shohei and how the helpful versus hurtful?
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to preface, or not preface, I want to caveat maybe by saying on Saturday, I felt like he looked way more comfortable to play.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: You know, he had a good, he had base hits in both games.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: He did, he'll he was one, I think, for four on Saturday, but he wasn't striking out.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: He was saying the ball hard, he was just hitting them two people.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: But it does bring up the conversation.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Do they need to, do you need to?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Because you mentioned they're veterans and they're tired, and I agree with that, and they are the oldest team in baseball.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: Do you ignite this team by putting the young guy in there as the DH in game three?
- 7:34SPEAKER_00: Shohei available as a pinch hitter.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: I know it's a red, I know it's ridiculous, and people are gonna be like, you're insane, but I don't know that I am insane.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: And I think of all people, you know how hard this is for me to even say.
- 7:45SPEAKER_01: No, I know, and it's yeah, it and you know what, Tracy, too.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you feel this, but like compared to the last postseason where when Shohei is at the plate, the entire air, everything in the ballpark just stops and like you are anticipating magic and phones are out, and I I felt like most more often than not, magic was still performed.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: Aber abricadabra show, but his his the presence is not even I don't feel it anymore at that point.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Well, I think I think that that's true, and I do think that that is part of the issue at hand is that the presence is not there because of the injury.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, we're looking at last season.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: I think, you know, I don't know if you heard that last week.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I think the presence, it kind of isn't there right now because of the injury.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: This is not a knock-on show, AO Johnny.
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: No, no, no.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: He is on, but he's hurt.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: He's just he's playing hurt, he's been playing hurt for a while.
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: He's just not, he's not the same.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: And I mean, let's lest we forget, last year in the World Series, the Blue Jays intentionally walked him like 108,000 times.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: It's an it's an exaggeration, but like not really.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: Because just his presence and just the possibility of what he could do was not a risk they were willing to take.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: That is not there right now.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Now, I don't know.
- 9:12SPEAKER_00: I know that's gonna be that's a tough conversation.
- 9:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know if it becomes a distraction if you do it.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: Does it now become, oh, that's what everybody's talking about?
- 9:22SPEAKER_00: But by the same token, you've got to ignite something.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: And unfortunately, at this point in DePaula's career, he can't play defense.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: So, you know, and and let's say Teo, who we love, and hit the major homer in game one and is made main reason they won game one.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: He's he gets a pass on some of the defensive stuff.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: He had a play last night that changed the game as well.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: There were a lot of different things that happened, but you're gonna have to do something.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: You have to ignite something.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: And the offense looked its best with Dapala in there.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: And I'm not over-exaggerating, and I'm not like, you know, making some major statement on the, but they have to do something to ignite this offense by the same token.
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: I also think you gotta go into game three.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: You start Shohei.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: I don't think you cannot start Shohei in game three.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: But if the offense continues to sputter and sputter and he doesn't look right, maybe you make the switch then.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: And so that's just kind of it's a tough conversation.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: I'm so glad it is not my job to have the conversation, to make this decision.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: Uh, I I do strongly believe that Shohei Otani is a team first guy.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: And I think he believes he's doing everything he can to help the team and playing through the injury is helping the team.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: But, you know, Kyle Shanahan used to say this about Christian McCaffrey.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: He probably still does.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: I'm just not at press conference anymore.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Um, but he used to say, we gotta sometimes we gotta protect Christian from himself.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: And I'm wondering if this is a situation where they kind of have to protect Shohei from himself.
- 10:57SPEAKER_01: My boss says that about me too.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: She's like, I'm gonna save you from yourself, then you're not going to this.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I think it's a thing.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think people who are very motivated and excel at what they do and want to be there to do their jobs and do it well, such as yourself and Shohei Otani and Christian McCaffrey.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: I have put you, I just like to know that I have put you in the conversation with Shohe Otani and Christian McCaffrey and Nikki.
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, I'm gonna take it.
- 11:23SPEAKER_01: I could really do a little pump up like that today.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much, Tracy.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: And I am gonna put you in that category because I know how hard you work and how dedicated you are.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: And I know um you were we're gonna get to where you were on Sunday, but yes, I was laughing because I was on the field at Dodgers Stadium before first pitch, and I was watching the ninth inning of Brewers Padres go down.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: That'll be to talk about that, by the way.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and like personally, I want a Padres Dodgers NLCS.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Like, I want the smoke, I want to see that rivalry.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: It's great for the sport, it's electric.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: But when the Brewers uh, you know, overpowered the Padres in the the bottom of the ninth to take to take the series to 2-0.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: There was a collective cheering in Dodgers Stadium, right?
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: There was nothing on the Jumbotron or anything, but you could tell that every fan that just watched it yeah, yeah, it was good.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: And I think that probably in theory has more to do with the fact that Dodgers can just ate the Padres.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Um right now, I just want a Dodgers in the NLCS.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Who they play, but but that let's talk about that series because the thing for the Padres, it's not even just that they're down to nothing, each game has been lost in dramatic fashion.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Game one with the ball hitting the roof, and and we don't know for sure that it would have been a home run.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of varying, it probably would have, but there are also some things you can look at that be like, I don't we don't know, but it very well could have been.
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: So there's that, and then the walk-off in game two.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just kind of dejectedness, it feels like that.
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: I saw the best meme saying something like the Padres need to hire an Etsy witch ASAP.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: It's amazing.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Also, by the way, can the Dodgers do that for their bats?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: I know, right?
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: But then I don't know.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: The Dodgers have tempted have have tempted the baseball gods in so many ways that I wonder if hiring an Etsy witch would be like, okay, now we're going to a lockout.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: You got an Etsy witch on your team too?
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't think they should tell anybody.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: I think they should keep that very hush hush.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: I think that should be like an Andrew Friedman on Etsy late at night, making the hire under a pseudonym.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: It gives you Tracy Sandler.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Andrew, you take my name, use it, totally use it.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: Your burner Etsy account at Tracy Sandler Love Shohei, totally fine.
- 13:51SPEAKER_00: And or at Tracy Sandler's Decoy, whatever you want to use, and you keep that to your never share that with anybody.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: But I think that the pot as far as the Padres go, they I mean, the thing is, I said this to my mom yesterday.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: There is something about San Diego, even it's it's hit the chargers here in LA.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: This kind of stuff just happens to them, right?
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: I don't, it's bizarre.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: I think the clippers came from San Diego or once it explains so much.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: It explains so much.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: There is you know what San Diego is arguably one of the best cities to live in in the entire United States.
- 14:27SPEAKER_01: So maybe that's what it is.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: It's like you can't have it every you can't have everything.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Can't have it all.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: You can't have it all.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's um it's kind of bananas.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: So we will see what happens.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: The series moves to San Diego on Tuesday.
- 14:42SPEAKER_01: Um series that you're you're AL to today.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: So we have the White Sox, the Guardians, and then of course the Rays and the Yankees.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna all in on the White Sox.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: I think they're so fun, at least in the AL.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: I think it's so fun, it's a great story.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: I kind of love, I I kind of love it.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: So I'm I am a their trading.
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: They're just those Clubhouse interviews are my favorite thing ever.
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: It makes me think they're incredible.
- 15:09SPEAKER_01: We love our Dodgers, but I kind of wish they weren't so good and so have won so much that it's like I like I like the rawness.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, there is a there is a rawness.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: That's the perfect word.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: There is a rawness to this team.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Um, in terms of Yankees raised, I don't have much of a dog in that fight except for Belly, who I love, love.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: But you know, um, other than that, as I say that as I'm looking at a Cody Bellinger bobblehead on my desk.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: And for those of you watching, you can see.
- 15:35SPEAKER_00: There he is.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: Hi, Cody.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: There he is.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Hi, Cody.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Um, so I don't really that series doesn't do a lot for me.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know why, um, but the White Sox, I'm I'm really into that.
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: I think that would be fun.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, I would love should the Dodgers make that for I think a Dodgers White Sox World Series would be so much fun.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: I do think the Dodgers should have appropriate fear for the Brewers, though, because if you imagine the with the way they got swept last year, the way they're playing this year, like they're I mean, yeah.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Right now, though, the Dodgers have to have appropriate fear for the Braves.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That's that is like, you know what?
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: My niece asked me last week, who would you rather they play?
- 16:13SPEAKER_00: And I said, you know what?
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: I stopped doing that a long time ago in any sport because A, if I the team that I quote unquote wanted them to play, always beat, not even just the Dodgers, just generally in sports, would beat the team that might would beat my team.
- 16:28SPEAKER_00: And secondly, I think right now they have a very excited Braves team on their hand, um, and on their hands, and they're gonna have to figure out some stuff there.
- 16:38SPEAKER_00: And they, you know, the thing, like Tommy, Edmund has to get it together.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: It's like the guys that you count on for small ball aren't playing small ball, and that's your home run hitters are hitting home runs.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: Shohei aside, you know, you know, Mookie's getting on base.
- 16:51SPEAKER_00: Like it's your guys that are supposed to like help you play small ball aren't doing it.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: So it'll be kind of interesting to watch throughout the playoffs because, like you said, with the Brewers, they're doing that, they're strategic and they're executing and they're doing a great job with that.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be interesting to see in the playoffs generally.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: And I heard I was driving home from the airport yesterday during the Dodge Games.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: I was listening to on the radio, and I heard one of the announcers say that uh fastballs are the fastest they've been, and as a result, they're less home runs, batting averages are down, which means small ball has become way more important.
- 17:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: They're gonna have to all the teams that they're gonna have to figure it out.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So exciting week ahead in that.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Uh, so we love baseball playoffs, and we're gonna hope that on our Thursday episode we are previewing a game five, and interesting to see what happens with Brewers and Padres.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: I don't think they're just gonna lay down the Padres.
- 17:45SPEAKER_00: No, so I don't expect them to be swept.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: So we'll see how how that one goes as well.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's get to football.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: And so I was back at Levi Stadium for the first time as a fan in over 10 years.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: How did it feel?
- 18:00SPEAKER_00: You know what?
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: It was great.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: It was really fun.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: Uh it was really fun to be there.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: The Niners were amazing, um, took such good care of me.
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: So it was really meant so much to me, but it was great to see colleagues, great to see friends, enjoyed the game as a fan, and then go home.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: It was, it was really, it was great.
- 18:20SPEAKER_00: And I I missed the people I worked with, but I every there have been so many steps and milestones that have solidified for me that I loved my 10 years covering the team, but it was time to move forward.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: And this was another one.
- 18:34SPEAKER_00: So it was great.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: It felt really great, it was really fun, it was really hot.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: I went two days in a row, guys, of watching sports for three hours in 95 to 103 degree heat.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Uh, but you know what?
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: I prevailed.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, so that was, but it was fun.
- 18:49SPEAKER_00: It was really fun.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: I had a really good time.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: So we can start with that game because that was a very weird game.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: You can ask, it doesn't have to be quick.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: You ask whatever you want.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: No, I've never been to Levi Stadium, but I did just see a TikTok of I think it was a visiting anchor, sports anchor showing some of the amenities in the press box, like the media food you get and stuff, and like the candy bar.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Okay, so is their press box elite?
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Like and how does it rank in other uh to other NFL stadiums?
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: I would say their press box is pretty elite, and because it's comfortable, it's big, you do get great food.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: The candy bar was an addition like five years ago, which was an A plus, A plus edition in that candy bar.
- 19:35SPEAKER_00: Just absolutely fantastic.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Uh, so it is definitely elite press box.
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: Uh, the Seahawks press box is an elite press box.
- 19:43SPEAKER_00: It's more, you're a little more crammed in, but there's a Starbucks in there.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: So it's very hard to beat that under any circumstances.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: That's really cool.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's really, really cool.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: And then you go to the food area, is you like kind of go around the corner and they have great food there too.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: But the Starbucks in the press box, like you just can't beat that.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: So that's pretty amazing.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: That's magnificent.
- 20:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so that is pretty magnificent.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm trying to think.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: I think Houston has a pretty nice press box with some very fun press box food.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: I think Sofi has a good press box.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Sofi's like fine, but like they don't like it, yeah, it's good.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: It's good.
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: It doesn't have how do I say this?
- 20:26SPEAKER_00: I feel like there's a vibe.
- 20:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: For all that people say about Levi Stadium and how it's soulless, there's no vibe.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I do think once the 49ers started winning, everybody changed their tune on that, which is not shocking.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Um, I feel like there's a vibe in the Levi Stadium press box.
- 20:42SPEAKER_00: I think there's a vibe in Seattle.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: There's like a kind of a vibe in Houston.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: There's maybe a Minnesota, Minneapolis has a good press box.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: Uh, Allegiant has a good press.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, I judge, I have for the last 10 years been judging stadiums by the press box and their ability to get down to the field, the interview rooms, locker rooms, all of that.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Um, but SoFi doesn't feel like it necessarily has a vibe.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: It's a nice press box, but it doesn't have a vibe.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: It's it's sterile.
- 21:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's I think that's true.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: Um, it is a little bit sterile.
- 21:12SPEAKER_00: So that's kind of my feeling, but that candy bar at Levi's Stadium A plus.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: A A plus.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: So that was that's that that's a good one.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Um, so that game, a weird game.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: I think I almost feel like the 49ers Broncos game was kind of a micropocosm of the NFL thus far this year.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: This year feels to me, and I love your opinion on this.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: I know you were very baseball heavy yesterday, but I think you have a general idea of what's going on, obviously.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Um this year fears feels to me, aside from like three teams, or maybe even two teams, um as week to week a league as I've seen in a very long time.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: That is kind of my feeling on that.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: I think that that trying to be a good thing.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: And like even the contenders, so to speak, they can still win, but not look great in the win.
- 22:08SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: And that's yes.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: I think that, and that's why I think the only two teams to me that have truly looked great every single week are the 49ers and the Chiefs.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: Crazy.
- 22:23SPEAKER_00: It is it is crazy.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: I mean, the Niners, you know, last week against Arizona, they go to this big lead and then they almost completely vote in the second half.
- 22:33SPEAKER_00: So that's not great, but they didn't.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I think in yesterday's game against the Broncos, the Broncos lose for basically in the second half.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Not basically the second half, they don't have their two starting corners.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And that changes the entire game.
- 22:46SPEAKER_00: They lose Pat Sertan towards the end of the first half, and they lose Riley Moss.
- 22:51SPEAKER_00: He plays the final series of the first half, but he does not come in in the second half of the game.
- 22:57SPEAKER_00: And I think that was definitely the changing point for Denver.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: Their offense is still sputtering on and off.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: There's still conversation about the play calling and all of that.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: But I think at the end of the day, you're down.
- 23:09SPEAKER_00: You're two, two, your two top corners who are also two of the top corners in the league that's going to change a game.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: But for the 49ers part, they took advantage of it and they won.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: The Vikings are the other undefeated team.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: And so that's why I say two three teams, maybe two, because I think the Vikings are undefeated.
- 23:26SPEAKER_00: They're undefeated based on their defense entirely.
- 23:29SPEAKER_00: At a certain point, that might catch up to them.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: But generally, this feels like a week-to-week league.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: So another big LA team, and who had a huge comeback win yesterday, was the Rams and the Rams and the Eagles.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: I think Eagles fans are finding out it wasn't just AJ Brown and it wasn't just last year's offensive coordinator.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: There are a lot of issues on the Eagles.
- 23:49SPEAKER_00: Granted, they were like the walking wounded.
- 23:52SPEAKER_00: They came into the game without a number of players, they lost a number of players, but the Rams had this huge comeback win.
- 23:59SPEAKER_00: And I don't know.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: Kind of what are your thoughts on this week to week thing?
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's so interesting because I think the Rams game was the one I was actually able to watch or listen to the majority of.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: And I just it was so crazy because like it kind of had parallels in similar ways to what were I felt watching the Dodgers, right?
- 24:19SPEAKER_01: Like in different in different tones.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Like the Rams through the first three quarters of that game against Philadelphia is like, well, is the season over?
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: Like you know, and then in the fourth quarter, you're like, oh, this is this is the grit.
- 24:35SPEAKER_01: This is the Los Angeles Rams.
- 24:37SPEAKER_01: This is what championship caliber teams do.
- 24:40SPEAKER_01: Now that being said, Matthew Stafford has now had six picks through what four?
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: It's four games, right?
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: I'm not losing my mind.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Four games.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: And you're not losing your mind.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: Not based on this, at least.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Not based on that.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: He had eight interceptions total last year.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: Now, what I kind of was going and my my brain, I don't know, kind of maybe seeks out parallels too hard, but it's like seeing him coming off an MVP season, seeing Shohei become mortal after last year, it it's it has this like weird narrative in my head.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: It's like they gave all their superpowers for such an incredible season, and then maybe it's like the level set.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: Of course, you're gonna come back down to earth for a little bit.
- 25:20SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: It was a weird, like in my head, kind of two storylines for LA superstars.
- 25:26SPEAKER_00: No, I think I think that's totally fair.
- 25:28SPEAKER_00: I think it'll be interesting to see in the future in Shohei's case.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: I think he's he never has had to both pitch and hit in a full season that mattered, if that makes sense.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: You know, when he's on the Angels, it wasn't it wasn't for teams that were contending.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And he came to the Dodgers coming off an injury.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: He had that incredible first season, after which I would just like to say, what if he just hits?
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: I think just hitting is he's worth the money.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: I did, yeah, I did hear someone say, you know, are we ever gonna see Shohei pitch again?
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: And I do think, you know, he's now he's a little bit older, yeah, not in regular people years, but in athlete people years, yeah.
- 26:07SPEAKER_00: And pitching and hitting in this at the same time for a team that's contending, it is different.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: And I think you know, the injuries may be catching up.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: So that's probably gonna be a conversation for another time.
- 26:18SPEAKER_00: But but I just just I wanted to, but I wanted to establish it in the in this conversation.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you with Stafford.
- 26:25SPEAKER_00: I think he did give a lot from that MVP season.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: Where I think, and part of the reason I established the Shohei part of it is because with all of that, Shohei has now won back-to-back World Series.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: They may or may not win a third.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: Stafford has won the one Super Bowl, which was great.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but that was five years ago now.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: And they they have been operating in Super Bowl or bust.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: And I think for Stafford, he is gonna have to find a way to overcome whatever it is, because he can't be throwing two interceptions a game.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: He cannot, no matter what you think of the DPI call in the game against the Broncos, at the end of the day, he threw a big six.
- 27:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's you know, he threw it towards the end, you know, no matter what you think of it.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: So he can't be doing that.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: And I think they're gonna have to figure that out.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: That being said, if he can throw two interceptions in a game and they can figure out a way to come back, and this is where I think the veteran, the maturity, the experience, the MVP in him can make the difference.
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: Also, Kyron Williams had like what it's such a track.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: And Puka had a great.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: In fact, both of them, thank you, Puka and Kyron, because Miss Americana and the touchdown Prince, I think is the name of my team, uh, got its first.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: Big mistake.
- 27:44SPEAKER_00: Uh well, I am now one and three.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: And last week I want you to know all these people in my league were sending me trade requests, and I was like, I'm not giving up on my guy.
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: You're not giving up on my and I, you cannot have them, they are mine.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Um, so thank you, Puka and Kyron.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: So it's um it's gonna be interesting, but again, there goes the week to weakness.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: I don't think the Eagles have looked good so far.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: No, I think they're kind of Fugazi, honestly.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think they're very Fugazi.
- 28:12SPEAKER_01: Um that should be the new for next week for later this week.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: We should do teams that are Fugazi.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 28:19SPEAKER_00: Let's do teams that are Fugazi.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: I absolutely love that.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: You know who I think is not Fugazi?
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Wait for it.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: The Jaguars.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: I'm so in on Liam Cohn's Jaguars.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Yep, I'm so you know what?
- 28:32SPEAKER_00: His I'm starting to think at his press conference when he did his Duval and everybody made fun of it.
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: Talk about Etsy witches.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: I think that was some sort of voodoo that he was doing, and it has changed his team.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: Jaguars, not Fugazi at all.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: You know who else may not be Fugazi?
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: Time will tell.
- 28:49SPEAKER_00: But Bryce Young and the Panthers.
- 28:52SPEAKER_01: That'll be a crazy.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'd be so happy for the Carolina fans.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: They deserve, they deserve some success.
- 29:02SPEAKER_00: They deserve some success.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna go out here right now and say it.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: I think they get in the playoffs.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: I'm not saying they're winning the Super Bowl, I'm not saying, but I think they're gonna get in the playoffs.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: First of all, their division is like kind of yeah, um, so there's that's can that be another term?
- 29:17SPEAKER_00: But I think they're maybe for real.
- 29:20SPEAKER_01: Maybe also, okay, we have not spoken since your boy has been traded.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: My JJ, my perfect JJ.
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: You guys also I would like to point out, because this was a big deal.
- 29:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, Greg Rosenthal mentioned me on his podcast and told Ian Rappaport that Tracy Sandler refers to him as her perfect JJ.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: And right just at that moment, I was like, is it time to retire?
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: Will it not get better than this moment right now?
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: Uh and I'm not sure that it will, but we'll see.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: I'm not retiring yet.
- 29:53SPEAKER_00: We'll see what happens.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: But put it in a Hall of Fame moment.
- 29:56SPEAKER_00: It definitely isn't a Hall of Fame moment.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: I did I self-promotion, guys.
- 30:00SPEAKER_00: If you want to go to my Instagram on my feed, I did a very, if I do say it myself, funny little, I had it behind me as I was like reacting to it.
- 30:08SPEAKER_00: And it's it's um, I thought it was pretty good.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: Okay, great.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: I've said I missed that.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: Take a look.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: I'll go watch it.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Uh yeah, everybody just you know, go take a look.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: Um, I am so happy for him.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: I think no matter what, it's a fresh start.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: And for the he made never play.
- 30:25SPEAKER_00: Jameis, you know, heats as Jameis's own words yesterday, he's quote unquote heating up.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Jameis said that about himself.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, the Giants got the full Jameis Winston experience on Sunday.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:37SPEAKER_00: They miss nothing.
- 30:38unknown: Yeah.
- 30:39SPEAKER_00: So bad.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: But yet somehow, I mean, it was the full.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: If you said to someone, what is the Jameis Winston experience?
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: Or someone said, You what's the Jameis Winston experience?
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: Like, you just show them the game from Sunday and they'd be like, Okay, I get it.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he may play, he's back with a harbaugh.
- 30:53SPEAKER_00: I am so happy.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: I am actually also, and I need to do this.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: It's me gonna do a giveaway of my Vikings gear because I sure don't need that stuff anymore.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: Nope.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I'm gonna hold off on buying Giants gear, not because I don't believe in JJ, but because I do believe so strongly in JJ that I think if he plays and he has a tremendous year, if they are in fact committed to Jackson Darth, then he may be somewhere else next year.
- 31:15SPEAKER_00: JJ may be a good one.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: That's very um omnish omni.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 31:19SPEAKER_01: That's very uh prescient of you, I think is prescient.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: I like well, prescient.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: We got Fugati, we got prescient.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, I think that was right.
- 31:27SPEAKER_00: Okay, and we have ah, these are our three words.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: So we got words of the day.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: Um, but no, we have not talked about it.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And I was so happy.
- 31:34SPEAKER_00: I felt a little bit like I manifested maybe I am the Etsy witch that the Dodgers need to hire because I ain't working for the Abra Cadabra the night before I was at dinner with my family, and I said, I really want JJ McCarthy to be traded to the Giants because I think it would be good for him, it'd be a fresh start, and I have a really good gossip girl sound to use if it happens.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: Wake up the next morning.
- 31:59SPEAKER_00: JJ McCarthy has been traded to the Giants.
- 32:02SPEAKER_00: I get right up and do my gossip girl sound.
- 32:04SPEAKER_00: So was this I I may be the Etsy witch.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Tracy, was this after one glass of 1942 on the rocks or a dirty martini?
- 32:14SPEAKER_00: Zero.
- 32:15SPEAKER_00: Sober as could be, only water.
- 32:19SPEAKER_00: Whoa! My perfect JJ.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: My perfect JJ.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: That will be my Etsy witch name.
- 32:25SPEAKER_00: My perfect JJ.
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Uh, so I'm just so so happy for him.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: But you know what else we haven't talked about?
- 32:31SPEAKER_00: Not more important than JJ, obviously, but maybe equally Taylor Swift in the four new songs.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: My gosh.
- 32:38SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 32:40SPEAKER_01: All right, so give me your reaction and how it evolved.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Okay, I immediately loved Patient Zero.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: I was like sold the second I heard it.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: I thought Cleveland, I liked the message of it.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Honestly, I thought it was cute, and I liked it, it's almost like an addition to wish list in a way.
- 33:00SPEAKER_01: Uh but and it's also like everyone who says it's like cringe or whatever, obnoxious, that's the whole point.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: She is making fun of the commentary, the discourse of her of her life as a whole.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: So she's like, Yeah, duh.
- 33:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I couldn't agree with you more.
- 33:19SPEAKER_00: So I actually really liked it.
- 33:20SPEAKER_00: And like I said, I did like the message of it, and that kind of this idea that it really doesn't matter what everybody says about you, right?
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: Just generally.
- 33:30SPEAKER_00: So I I really like that.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Uh Babylon, I think, is a good song.
- 33:33SPEAKER_00: I really like Pink Clouding.
- 33:35SPEAKER_00: I've liked more and more the more I hear it.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess it's the same as Babylon, but I my number one, and it's not even close with Patient Zero.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: In the music video, so good.
- 33:46SPEAKER_00: So, so good.
- 33:47SPEAKER_01: It's like the music video winning.
- 33:50SPEAKER_01: So it was like that's it made me go see Verity.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: And I read Verity and I loved Verity.
- 33:55SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:56SPEAKER_00: But when I saw Dakota, Dakota in the music video, I was like, okay, I'm 100% gonna go see Verity.
- 34:00SPEAKER_00: It's not that grand, but the I'm glad I saw it.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: The thrill we want, like the ride and the twists and turns in that music video is just like cinema.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: It was literally cinema.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: Um, I too, so I listened to all four songs on a drive home, right?
- 34:16SPEAKER_01: And I okay, I'm gonna I'm not gonna lie, I'm gonna like anything she does.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: But sometimes I just I'm like, oh, are we gonna get a banger?
- 34:24SPEAKER_01: Like, are we gonna get an anything from reputation level of like you know, hook you in?
- 34:29SPEAKER_01: But I do love, yeah, I think patience zero is set such powerful storytelling, and then also a really relatable female experience.
- 34:38SPEAKER_01: Like we've all dated, been the girl to date that guy, then he goes on to date someone else, and you're like, Well, I knew I knew we'd have a conversation at some point.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: Hey girl, yeah.
- 34:49SPEAKER_01: Um hundred percent.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: I Babylon right now is kind of what's on repeat for me.
- 34:54SPEAKER_01: It's in a wistful way, it's a little sad, even though the beat of the song is happy.
- 35:00SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like the you don't know what you got until it's gone.
- 35:02SPEAKER_01: Uh-huh.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: Um but yeah, Cleveland.
- 35:05SPEAKER_01: I like the Cleveland message where she's like, you only need to find one person in this world who doesn't find you completely insufferable.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: And that's what I hope for too, Tracy.
- 35:18SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, you're amazing.
- 35:20SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 35:21SPEAKER_00: Did I find you?
- 35:22SPEAKER_01: Are you my Cleveland friend?
- 35:23SPEAKER_00: You did.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: I'm your Cleveland, I'm your Cleveland friend, yay!
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: I just love that.
- 35:28SPEAKER_00: Um I mean, I'm your Cleveland friend.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: I put you with Christian McCaffrey and show you Otani.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: You're having a really good Monday.
- 35:35SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna make a mixtape out of all these compliments and play them forever.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: I think that would be great.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: If you want to send them to me, I'll do an Instagram with it behind me and like react to it.
- 35:45SPEAKER_00: Uh so uh yeah, we hadn't talked about that.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: I was like, that's very important.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: But it's funny to me, I thought about with Patient Zero.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: I was like, is it true though that my favorite songs of hers are the ones that are just kind of like dark and things went terribly wrong?
- 36:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, I love Life of a Showgirl, I love the album anyway, but Patient Zero is my number one.
- 36:06SPEAKER_01: It's so funny because like our personality we present as showgirls, but I think I'm with you.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Like I've been kind of on the dark, twisty side of Taylor's music recently, too.
- 36:16SPEAKER_01: Um ah, I was trying to think of sports comps for Patient Zero, and I was like, do we need a sports edit of Lincoln Riley to Patient Zero?
- 36:25SPEAKER_01: Like at all his different collegiate comp or like LeBron.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: Well, though, except Lane, but maybe Link Lane Kiffin.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, sorry, no, Lane Kiffin was oh, okay.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: Do we need a compilation of Lane Kiffin to Patient Zero and all his collegiate coaching stops along the way?
- 36:44SPEAKER_00: I think we absolutely do.
- 36:46SPEAKER_00: That's actually I'm imagining it in my head, and it's kind of amazing.
- 36:51SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: All of his antics, all of his different school, like every stop.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: It is who's patient zero in this Lane Kiffin analogy?
- 37:00SPEAKER_01: It's not you.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, you would want to say USC, but is it really USC?
- 37:05SPEAKER_00: I guess USC is his first major blow-up downfall.
- 37:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, they left him on the tarmac.
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you don't get much more patient zero than that, I'm thinking.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: So I feel like they did leave him on the tarmac and that maybe USC is patient zero.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 37:25SPEAKER_01: We need the edit, we need the edit.
- 37:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, any of our listeners, editors out there, please feel free to make this because it's actually really it would be really, really, really funny.
- 37:36SPEAKER_00: Um, speaking of college football, and I'm not gonna speak of it much.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: Um I just I'm gonna throw this out there in the universe as long as I'm manifesting that things are not going great with the charters by any means.
- 37:48SPEAKER_00: Things are not going great in Ann Arbor.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Is it time for Jim to just come home?
- 37:54SPEAKER_00: But can he come home?
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: Can he can he come back to college football?
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: I know they have that silly like 10-year thing.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: I don't know how enforceable that really is.
- 38:02SPEAKER_00: Listen, I'm manifesting here.
- 38:04SPEAKER_00: As you may or may not know, I am an at SeaWitch named my perfect JJ.
- 38:08SPEAKER_00: So I just manifesting stuff here, but I don't know if he can come back to college football.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, I was thinking about that yesterday because it was like, there is something.
- 38:15SPEAKER_00: I know that there's like this 10-year something, but maybe that's appealable.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: It's a lawless land.
- 38:21SPEAKER_01: The NCAA is like, come on.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: There are I could enter the train, I have eligibility right now.
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: Like I could enter the transfer portal and be like, you guys, I am going to fulfill my dream of playing for the University of Michigan.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: Is this breaking news entering the transfer portal?
- 38:35SPEAKER_00: Yes, it is.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, breaking news time entering the transfer portal to I don't know, do what for the University of Michigan football team, but something because something has to change.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Um, and I'm not a fire the coach after four games kind of girl or five games kind of girl.
- 38:50SPEAKER_00: That's not my general feeling, but I just think under the circumstances, it's not going well with the Chargers.
- 38:57SPEAKER_00: It's not going well.
- 38:58SPEAKER_00: Just like we could do a switch.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: Send Kyle Whittingham, see if he does better with the Chargers.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: Send send Jim back home.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: That's my perfect.
- 39:05SPEAKER_00: That's my that's the thing.
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Do you know?
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Actually, a little fun Harbaugh fact was yesterday, um, Jim the Chargers played and lost to the Seahawks, and his son, Jay Harbaugh, is I believe the special teams coordinator of the Seahawks.
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and Jay's wife posted really cute, their daughter seeing her grandfather Jim, and it's like the cutest thing.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: And she had a jersey, a half and half jersey, half Chargers has Seahawks.
- 39:29SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's really cute.
- 39:30SPEAKER_00: It was really, really cute.
- 39:32SPEAKER_00: So that's just an aside.
- 39:33SPEAKER_00: Maybe that could be our K pop.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Perfect.
- 39:35SPEAKER_01: Uh Jim Harbaugh.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, do you have one?
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just it's if you're looking for a rooting interest in these MLB playoffs, and we already just spoke about it briefly, but just go down the rabbit hole of watching the Chicago White Sox interviews.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: They're the compilations, electric.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: The guys are so fun, and uh, you can't get any better or more pure in sport than that.
- 39:59SPEAKER_00: I you know what?
- 40:00SPEAKER_00: I would agree with that.
- 40:01SPEAKER_00: That let's get an edit of that too.
- 40:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, perfect.
- 40:04SPEAKER_00: With Cleveland or something.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: Oh no, they're playing Cleveland.
- 40:06SPEAKER_00: So actually, that would be a true that would be such a fun.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, but actually really funny if they win and then you do the editing with Cleveland.
- 40:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: Uh okay, this has been a very fun show.
- 40:16SPEAKER_00: I have loved it.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm hoping when we talk Thursday, like I said, either the Dodgers went on to win the next two games and are off to the NLCS, or we are previewing a game five between the Dodgers and the Braves.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: I feel like that scenario is more likely.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: Uh but till then, make sure to subscribe, rate, review, slander and slay on buzzer.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: I am Tracy Sandler.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm Nikki Kay.
- 40:41SPEAKER_00: And we'll talk to you later this week.
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: Bye all.
