- 0:06Speaker 2: I am Lady Beard. We are saying, Baby Bed.
- 0:12Speaker 3: That's right where Baby Beard as always a pleasure to
- 0:16Speaker 3: talk to Heavy mag How are you, Chrispy?
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm very well, thank you, Lady Bed. How are you today?
- 0:21Speaker 2: Good Man? Good?
- 0:22Speaker 1: I'm always always happy to see your beautiful face, my friend.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Likewise, my friend, we missed you. I was going to
- 0:28Speaker 2: say welcome back as we missed your smile and face
- 0:30Speaker 2: on this show. Ah.
- 0:31Speaker 4: What a legend.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Well, I have all the time of the world for
- 0:34Speaker 1: the Christmasaurus.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I'm so looking at the three of you sitting there.
- 0:38Speaker 2: I can see a major point of difference to the
- 0:40Speaker 2: last time we spoke.
- 0:41Speaker 3: But we'll get into that in a minute, because in
- 0:44Speaker 3: not long now, Baby Beard will return to Australia as
- 0:47Speaker 3: part of Smashkin Bench in twenty twenty five in Sydney
- 0:50Speaker 3: over July the twelf and the thirteenth.
- 0:52Speaker 2: So are you packed and ready to go? Ah? Mate,
- 0:55Speaker 2: we are so packed. We are more packed than we've
- 0:58Speaker 2: ever been there. Yeah, I need more doughty musk now
- 1:03Speaker 2: I was sitting in a smashing the Iky bus. We
- 1:05Speaker 2: are so packed. Hey tell you what.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Sissa is a season traveler now, so she she comes
- 1:10Speaker 1: packed with Like last time in Australia, she got a
- 1:13Speaker 1: Bluey doll and he knows by my sister, so I'm
- 1:17Speaker 1: sure the Bluey is coming.
- 1:18Speaker 2: And I'll studying in Blue Animal, Big Moscow. She'll be bringing.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Bluey and this is Phisky's first time in Australia, so
- 1:25Speaker 1: she needs a Bluey. So hey, hey, heavy listeners, we
- 1:28Speaker 1: need a Bluey for Misiki please.
- 1:30Speaker 3: I'm sure my children will probably facilitate that for you.
- 1:36Speaker 3: So it's been roughly twelve much less. You see her
- 1:38Speaker 3: out here on the Adorable Assault on Australia chore. So
- 1:41Speaker 3: how were the crowds for that? Did?
- 1:42Speaker 2: Did they react like you expected?
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah? They were fantastic. I mean, Ozzie crowds are great
- 1:46Speaker 1: in general. On the tour, you know, we had a
- 1:49Speaker 1: series of weeknight shows. So I'm going to tell you
- 1:52Speaker 1: I was a bit concerned about the week nights because
- 1:54Speaker 1: you know, a.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Tuesday night in Melbourne it's not the most rock and
- 1:58Speaker 2: roll day. But we had wonderful crowds. Everyone turned up,
- 2:03Speaker 2: everyone's really enthusiastic.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Was great and almost.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Sure to no fun, No in sure could, I.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Says Susan saying that is a beautiful answer.
- 2:28Speaker 1: By the way, Susans saying, you know, we came in
- 2:30Speaker 1: July and last year, so it was the winter, so
- 2:32Speaker 1: of course it was cold, but the fans.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Were just so warm and energetic that we forgot it
- 2:38Speaker 2: was winter. Complete, beautiful, beautiful.
- 2:43Speaker 3: So for those possibly unaware of baby beers existence, it's
- 2:47Speaker 3: possibly one of the most entertaining and fun things to
- 2:50Speaker 3: ever graceous range stages, blending Japanese pop culture, too adorable
- 2:54Speaker 3: Japanese vocalists and a hulking brood of a man with
- 2:56Speaker 3: pigtails and a dress screaming like a demon.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Is that about something's up? That's exactly That's a perfect explanation,
- 3:03Speaker 2: Chris Big, that was perfect. I'm glad so when you
- 3:08Speaker 2: were last year.
- 3:09Speaker 3: In last year, the people behind the Chinese zodiac officially
- 3:12Speaker 3: changed twenty twenty four to the year of the bed,
- 3:15Speaker 3: which really sucked. It really sucked for those under the
- 3:17Speaker 3: side of the dragon, because it meant they went.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Without for another twelve years. The dragons s thought of
- 3:21Speaker 2: have beards, don't they are they doing? They do? But
- 3:24Speaker 2: what will twenty five now be?
- 3:25Speaker 3: Nadays, what has to be the year of the other babies,
- 3:28Speaker 3: the babies in the bed babies.
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm all cure me, I'm not. How do you say
- 3:32Speaker 2: the Chinese zodiac? Yeah, Junior, you damn only much and
- 3:36Speaker 2: then you're one.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Now what she getting on?
- 3:39Speaker 3: Nothing?
- 3:40Speaker 4: He getting on?
- 3:41Speaker 1: God?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Does she want babies?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Not?
- 3:42Speaker 1: Then?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Mean none of.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Us named after them? Yeah?
- 3:47Speaker 4: I love it.
- 3:47Speaker 2: I love it. It's very pleased with their zodiac year.
- 3:51Speaker 3: So tell us a bit more about Slash twenty twenty
- 3:54Speaker 3: five then, and baby beads performance it.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Smash twenty twenty five, very exciting. Biggest anime convention is Sydney.
- 4:00Speaker 1: So I came down just me as a soloist in
- 4:03Speaker 1: twenty twenty three. The show went great, The fans were fantastic,
- 4:07Speaker 1: the organizers took wonderful care of us, and we had
- 4:10Speaker 1: such a good time then and on the tour last year,
- 4:12Speaker 1: and now we're coming back for twenty twenty five. So
- 4:15Speaker 1: everyone came to Smash in twenty twenty three and saw
- 4:17Speaker 1: me this time. You get the whole Enchilada, you get me,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you get Mizzi Ki, you get Suzuo, you get the
- 4:22Speaker 1: whole flipping thing.
- 4:24Speaker 2: All right, nice?
- 4:25Speaker 3: And now it's a two day festival, so are you
- 4:27Speaker 3: performing over both days or you'll be doing workshops meeting great,
- 4:30Speaker 3: So it's a yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Now, the convention takes our place over two days, so
- 4:34Speaker 1: we're going to be on stage for our big show
- 4:36Speaker 1: on the Saturday, and then we've got question nowwer panels
- 4:39Speaker 1: on the Sunday.
- 4:40Speaker 2: We're gonna be meeting and greeting the fans.
- 4:42Speaker 1: And taking photos with the fans both days and and
- 4:45Speaker 1: we're also doing a separate event on the Friday night,
- 4:48Speaker 1: which is the opening ceremony. It's kind of separate from
- 4:51Speaker 1: the convention, but it's affiliated as it were.
- 4:54Speaker 2: But we'll be there too for a shorter shot, short
- 4:55Speaker 2: show on.
- 4:56Speaker 1: The Friday, long shot on the Saturday, panel on the
- 4:58Speaker 1: Sunday photos love for all of you every day.
- 5:01Speaker 3: It's the only performance you're doing in the whole of Australia,
- 5:04Speaker 3: coming over just for smashing and believing this time just
- 5:07Speaker 3: for smash.
- 5:07Speaker 1: That's right, So in and out be a quick, fun weekend.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It's going to be Miski's first ever time going overseas anywhere.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So well, you actually just just stole my next question
- 5:18Speaker 3: and acted as a perfect segue. I was going to
- 5:21Speaker 3: say loss Mica and worldwide debut with the newest member
- 5:24Speaker 3: to the baby being family in Mazuki.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So first thing zicking.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Welcome and the announcement was only made very recently, So
- 5:35Speaker 3: how's the only reception been?
- 5:36Speaker 2: Has everyone positive? They embracing misic not happier nor in
- 5:42Speaker 2: short fun not the action don't do it?
- 5:46Speaker 4: No, is very pleased.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Everyone's been extremely welcoming and extremely warm towards.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Her thus far as they should. And she's list as
- 6:00Speaker 3: a training member in the blue position. So what does
- 6:03Speaker 3: that actually mean. Well, we're starting up a bit of
- 6:06Speaker 3: a new assistem at the moment.
- 6:07Speaker 1: W We're going to have bring in trainee members and
- 6:09Speaker 1: so that way we can give the girls enough time
- 6:11Speaker 1: to kind of properly develop as opposed we've had challenges
- 6:14Speaker 1: in the past when we bring in a new member,
- 6:16Speaker 1: we're going to get her trained up really really quickly,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and then she's on stage.
- 6:19Speaker 2: It doesn't really give her enough time to ye through things,
- 6:21Speaker 2: you know I'm saying.
- 6:22Speaker 6: So we're kind of bringing in a new system when
- 6:25Speaker 6: we're going to get the training spread out over a
- 6:27Speaker 6: longer period of time and get everyone kind of more
- 6:29Speaker 6: comfortable before they have to really commit to full time duties.
- 6:32Speaker 1: So that's going to be a music key. She's our
- 6:34Speaker 1: first trainee member, so she's coming in. She's wearing blue.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Of course, VisiC Key wears blue, so Zu wears green.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I wear pink.
- 6:41Speaker 1: That's how this that's how this dynamic is set up,
- 6:43Speaker 1: which are the most metal covalacy you can ever imagine.
- 6:46Speaker 1: And so so this will be not only VisiC Key's
- 6:50Speaker 1: first time overseas ever, not only her first ever performance overseas,
- 6:54Speaker 1: it's her first performance with us.
- 6:56Speaker 4: Will be a smash.
- 6:57Speaker 2: That's fine, Jersey and I like the way you say that.
- 6:59Speaker 3: You've given them a bit more trying to develop now,
- 7:01Speaker 3: So she's got six weeks before that.
- 7:03Speaker 2: That's a bit more time.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Is it just because we only announced her now? It's
- 7:08Speaker 1: not like your whole process just beget let's it crispy.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Hey, you're trying to get lady being in trouble.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Crisp, you're trying to you're trying to put me in
- 7:16Speaker 1: the situation.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Never, this one might get you in trouble.
- 7:21Speaker 3: What do you what do you hope Miszuki will bring
- 7:23Speaker 3: the baby bed and the show.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'll get her to tell you herself. But she's a
- 7:28Speaker 1: very very well seasoned dancer. So she's been dancing for
- 7:32Speaker 1: a long so in terms of her stage presence, she's
- 7:34Speaker 1: going to be very very good at the old jumpy, jumpy, shaky, shaky,
- 7:40Speaker 1: dunce and kicking, says at. So she's from a background
- 7:50Speaker 1: in classical ballet and jazz funk.
- 7:52Speaker 3: More, how do you want to mutch?
- 7:56Speaker 1: Look looks like she's doing ballet since she was six
- 8:00Speaker 1: as s's down eight, So.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Like I can imagine that the whole process over there
- 8:04Speaker 3: for like there'd be a lot of people wanted to
- 8:06Speaker 3: join baby Bed, So the whole process must be pretty exhausting, Like,
- 8:10Speaker 3: how did you find it?
- 8:10Speaker 2: Moszekie was at an enjoyable process? Yeah, it's a wonderful process.
- 8:14Speaker 1: We found busicly So one of our managers actually brought
- 8:18Speaker 1: music to us and said, I found this girl. I
- 8:21Speaker 1: think she'd be appropriate for you. You want to take
- 8:23Speaker 1: a look. So we did take a look with auditioned Husky.
- 8:26Speaker 1: She's delightful as you can see, adorable that we said,
- 8:30Speaker 1: we think we think she might be the one.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Nice and nice and sis. We can't leave you out
- 8:36Speaker 2: of we can't leave you out of discussions.
- 8:38Speaker 3: I understand you've done a bit of traveling recently, like
- 8:41Speaker 3: where did you go and how was it?
- 8:43Speaker 1: What do you're got?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Kick and.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Thin?
- 8:59Speaker 1: We went on whole later Hawaii in April, very tanned
- 9:03Speaker 1: and lovely in.
- 9:08Speaker 2: No said are you looking forward to returning to Australia.
- 9:12Speaker 2: How did you enjoy last time?
- 9:14Speaker 4: One more Australia?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Mm?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Hm, did your Australia?
- 9:24Speaker 4: There are ROCKI stitch my daughter Australia.
- 9:28Speaker 2: No, you're too much in.
- 9:32Speaker 4: Australia. The kid can so so sup brings up a
- 9:47Speaker 4: wonderful point.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Last year on the tour in Sydney, for the first.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Time ever, we had a wall of death of one
- 9:54Speaker 1: of our shows, Your Kidden It was It was awesome.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Actually it was our first show is Sidne Again.
- 10:00Speaker 6: It was a weak night, so it was not.
- 10:02Speaker 1: The biggest show that we had, but we're there, we're
- 10:05Speaker 1: leading into the last song and they've just been they've
- 10:09Speaker 1: just been a showy so the stage so it was
- 10:12Speaker 1: everyone was feeling frivolous and as I was just introducing
- 10:15Speaker 1: the last song, someone in the audience yells.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Out wall of death.
- 10:19Speaker 2: So we're like, if you guys, wow, So.
- 10:23Speaker 1: The girls have never seen a wall of death before
- 10:25Speaker 1: because they've never like in Japan.
- 10:26Speaker 2: We do shows for idol fans, right, So that was his.
- 10:29Speaker 4: First ever wall of death.
- 10:31Speaker 5: Interesting, there was a bunch of loose chairs on the floor,
- 10:34Speaker 5: so it was a pretty dangerous wall of death.
- 10:35Speaker 2: But are you hoping for another one? Sue wanted to
- 10:42Speaker 2: get in the pit. Sue was like, to this stage nonsense.
- 10:45Speaker 4: She wanted to get in the pit.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Run a so typical baby Beat live show, Like, what
- 10:49Speaker 2: can people expect?
- 10:51Speaker 1: We expect a whole lot of a really really adorable
- 10:54Speaker 1: singing from the girls, so of course had delightful young
- 10:57Speaker 1: female voiceless I expect a whole lot of dancing Nancy
- 11:00Speaker 1: jump around sixteen million years of ballet and then sixteen
- 11:03Speaker 1: million years of gymnastics and all the things that says
- 11:06Speaker 1: we did. So there's a lot of energy and the
- 11:07Speaker 1: visual side of the show, and then you expect the
- 11:09Speaker 1: beard and cross dressing. I was he in the middle
- 11:11Speaker 1: to pick up all the ayah duties. So hey, hey,
- 11:16Speaker 1: metal heads, you're not left out when you come to
- 11:18Speaker 1: a Baby Beard show.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Come on down and enjoy us at Smash.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I know it's not a metal festival, it's an anime convention,
- 11:23Speaker 1: but listen, life is about you.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Experiences.
- 11:25Speaker 1: So all you heavy watchers and listeners should get down
- 11:28Speaker 1: to Smash twenty twenty five.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And sit me.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I think you raise a good point there too, because
- 11:33Speaker 3: just looking at the overall aesthetics of the show, you
- 11:35Speaker 3: dissume it was just for kids, but it's actually a
- 11:38Speaker 3: show that the adults can get into as well.
- 11:40Speaker 2: There's a bit of something for everybody.
- 11:42Speaker 1: There's something for everybody, that's exactly right. There's there's drama,
- 11:45Speaker 1: there's tragedy, there's comedy, there's no romance, but you know,
- 11:51Speaker 1: apart from that, there's something for absolutely everyone.
- 11:54Speaker 3: He'll do me And as we mentioned earlier on the
- 11:57Speaker 3: Baby being mixes Japanese pop culture with heavy mat of music.
- 12:00Speaker 3: That's a basic essential of it. So how does that
- 12:03Speaker 3: transcend musical barriers in Japan? Like I no respect is
- 12:06Speaker 3: a big thing in the culture there. Do you have
- 12:08Speaker 3: to handle it carefully?
- 12:10Speaker 4: Japanese live outside or the.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Hen me.
- 12:38Speaker 4: Called him the other He's not on stage in Japan
- 12:42Speaker 4: or anywhere else.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Yet, So I mean she she's a reserve judgment for
- 12:46Speaker 3: now right then, christ No, No, We're going ask you
- 12:56Speaker 3: the same question next year and see what her answer is.
- 12:59Speaker 3: I are you're actually noticing more kids get into heavy metal, though,
- 13:03Speaker 3: is a direct result of your influence?
- 13:05Speaker 4: Ah?
- 13:05Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not gonna say it's a direct result
- 13:09Speaker 1: from our influence, because you know, I don't want to
- 13:11Speaker 1: make these claims that I can't necessarily back up.
- 13:13Speaker 2: But it seems that way. Like we have a lot
- 13:16Speaker 2: of kids in the fan.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Base, so we'll do our shows and a lot of
- 13:19Speaker 1: the time the front row is inundated with kids. The
- 13:22Speaker 1: two last year, the Brisbane show, the Brisbane Show, there
- 13:25Speaker 1: was a literal baby at the show. There was a
- 13:28Speaker 1: one year old at the show. And I wasn't crying.
- 13:31Speaker 1: It wasn't it was having a great time. But that's
- 13:33Speaker 1: quite remarkable to be a heavy metal singer who has.
- 13:37Speaker 4: One year olds in the audience.
- 13:38Speaker 2: It's really something.
- 13:39Speaker 1: It's quite the thing, isn't how children heavy metal is
- 13:42Speaker 1: becoming in part a children's genre?
- 13:45Speaker 2: Have you got any final words for Australian fans before
- 13:48Speaker 2: you get here in July? Fun?
- 13:51Speaker 4: No, let's get up? Must guy?
- 14:14Speaker 1: No?
- 14:14Speaker 4: Can I give up?
- 14:19Speaker 2: Susan's saying it's been it's been a whole year. We
- 14:22Speaker 2: haven't seen the fans in Australia.
- 14:24Speaker 1: She's really excited to get back and see all the
- 14:26Speaker 1: Aussie fans again.
- 14:27Speaker 2: And since this time we have missic Key with us,
- 14:31Speaker 2: it's a whole new Baby Beard experience.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So everyone please come along and let's build the most
- 14:36Speaker 1: warm and positive experience that we possibly can together.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Fandom message you can.
- 14:54Speaker 6: You guy?
- 14:59Speaker 4: Not Hi Diana.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Missing.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You're saying it's going to be not only her first
- 15:11Speaker 1: show with us, not only her first show overseas, but
- 15:14Speaker 1: her first time leaving Japan anywhere.
- 15:17Speaker 2: So she's very excited.
- 15:18Speaker 1: She's really thrilled to meet the fans, really excited to
- 15:21Speaker 1: do the show, and then she's really excited to do
- 15:23Speaker 1: a bit of sight seeing in Sydney as well. So
- 15:25Speaker 1: she's jazzed for the Opera House and she needs to
- 15:28Speaker 1: see a kangaroo. So Krispy, you have a mission. We're
- 15:31Speaker 1: need a kangaroo at the Sydney Ice See it's.
- 15:34Speaker 2: A live one. Does it have to be live? Yoh yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 2: that bloody big call on me. Oh right, gud well,
- 15:42Speaker 2: thanks very much of the chat.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Always a pleasure to speak with your lady, bed Massiki
- 15:46Speaker 3: O wait to meet you in July and we'll see
- 15:49Speaker 3: you in about about six weeks.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Awesome, Thank you so much. Australia.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Will be at Smash at the ICC Sydney July twelve
- 15:57Speaker 1: and thirteen.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Will look forward to seeing you there. Australia, we have
- 16:00Speaker 2: baby beer.
- 16:00Speaker 4: We love you brother,
