Sun Valley Resort just became the first U.S. resort to earn DarkSky certification, officially embracing astrotourism and offering visitors a rare chance to gaze at the Milky Way under pristine skies. After two years of upgrading outdoor lighting to reduce pollution and protect wildlife, the resort joins the Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve—a gold-tier pioneer since 2017—and is now rolling out immersive stargazing events, including “Stars Over Sun Valley” during the Perseid meteor shower peak on August 12th, timed with a new moon for maximum visibility.
