- 0:09So I have down here as a question, what is somebody looking in the mirror for?
- 0:17And so YouTube answer to that question would be, they're looking for self.
- 0:25Getting to know who they are, basically looking for self.
- 0:30There's ways to solve problems.
- 0:34The reason why I say it's about looking for at yourself is because we are programmed at a young age a certain way.
- 0:46We are taught and programmed not to go within to deal with our emotions.
- 0:55And that's where a lot of people get stuck at, is they.
- 0:59They go to tell their story, but they fail to realize that they are attached with the emotions because they never dealt with the emotions.
- 1:13They never sat there.
- 1:15And.
- 1:17And basically, it's.
- 1:18It ties in with sitting in silence.
- 1:21A lot of people can't sit in silence.
- 1:23They struggle with that.
- 1:27That's gonna be another topic, another episode on this same subject.
- 1:34All right, two words.
- 1:38As I was listening to y', all, two words stood out to me.
- 1:42But I'll come back to it.
- 1:46Rafiki, you had a conversation with a couple people about this topic, right?
- 1:53Yes, I did.
- 1:55When asking this question, for the most part, what was people's initial response as what do you think?
- 2:05I was actually shocked because it was basically even.
- 2:09First it was a yes or no question.
- 2:11Then I asked other questions.
- 2:12On top of the yes, no question, a lot of them answered yes.
- 2:17So half answered yes and half answered no.
- 2:20Now, here's another question.
- 2:21Now, you said under further review, you started asking more questions.
- 2:29And as you started asking more questions, what ended up happening after all that?
- 2:34At the end, they all asked me my point of view.
- 2:37Well, well, did you find that someone who quickly shouted, yes, I could look in the mirror under more questioning, did their answer kind of shift?
- 2:53Some did and some didn't.
- 2:55All right, the ones that did shift it, what's your opinion on that?
- 3:00When I asked the line of question that I did, because each one of them, I asked him different questions.
- 3:06It wasn't the same question over and over.
- 3:08It was different questions.
- 3:10And the reason why I done it that way there, because to me, if you answer it real quickly, real fast, yes, I can.
- 3:17To me, you didn't really sit there and think about.
- 3:20Because a lot of them would say, well, of course I look in the mirror due to the simple fact that, you know, I got to put.
- 3:25Gotta put my makeup on or I gotta do my hair or I gotta wash my face.
- 3:31You know, I was getting some answers like that at first until I got into it deeper with, like, a couple questions.
- 3:39I would ask them, well, what do you Tell yourself, when you're looking in the into the mirror, what do you see?
- 3:47Who are you?
- 3:48I don't even ask that question.
- 3:50That's what made them started to thinking.
- 3:54And it boils down to that.
- 3:58You can't actually judge a book by its coverage.
- 4:03We are technically books.
- 4:06We.
- 4:07Our shell is our out outsider period.
- 4:11But a lot of people don't know the inside.
- 4:16We might be able to put a smile on our face, although we're in pain.
- 4:23We might be able to put a front on, although we are the deep stated depression.
- 4:30And that's where people need to actually understand where this topic was actually going in the first place.
- 4:37Because I did ask quite a few friends of mine this question.
- 4:42So I got a question Rafiki, out of, out of the people that you interviewed and the ones that quickly responded with yes, what percentage of those yes answers after further questioning did you find out that they could not
- 5:06look themselves in the mirror?
- 5:07If there were any.
- 5:09There was one or two that I picked up on that.
- 5:12You know, when it boiled down to it, the final answer was no.
- 5:16They really couldn't do it because they said, well that's, that's hard.
- 5:22Well, in all actuality, logically speaking, mental someone who can't look themselves in the mirror, should we expect them to say, nah, I can't look myself in the mirror?
- 5:36Because in all actuality, not being able to look yourself in the mirror, ain't that actually hiding from yourself?
- 5:46Yeah.
- 5:47Oh yeah.
- 5:48So I guess one could logically put together that hey, if you can't look in the mirror, I can't expect a straight answer from you.
- 6:02If they're lied about, if they said yes.
- 6:06And then after push back and you know, in further push, their answer ends up turning no.
- 6:12Like Rafiki said, they responded too quickly.
- 6:15But I would, I would have a, a, a bit more respect or trust for the person that told me no from the jump.
- 6:28And Rafiki.
- 6:29What?
- 6:29My comment just went to that one question.
- 6:31I'm not talking about as a whole.
- 6:34Not trust.
- 6:34True.
- 6:35Right, right, right.
- 6:36Okay.
- 6:37You know, not as a whole.
- 6:38So all y' all think I'm talking about in general.
- 6:42Nah, I'm just talking about to that one question.
- 6:45You know what I'm saying?
- 6:48Hey, hey, can you look yourself in the mirror?
- 6:50Yeah.
- 6:52And then after three questions, your answer is no.
- 6:55Well see, like I said, the ones that did, they said, well, because I got to do this like, but put makeup on, I gotta get ready for work, things like that.
- 7:07So that's what, that's what made me from the very beginning start asking people questions.
- 7:13So wait, now here's the question for you.
- 7:17That person that responded to you that way and.
- 7:20Yeah, well, yeah, I gotta put my makeup on.
- 7:22Do you think they didn't understand your question or that was just the answer?
- 7:31I think they.
- 7:32And wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 7:33Hold up.
- 7:34Think about it.
- 7:37If they truly understood your question and that was their answer, it, well, yeah, I gotta put makeup on.
- 7:44Did they truly.
- 7:46Can they really look in the mirror?
- 7:47Because if they understood where you was coming from, that wouldn't have been their answer.
- 7:53Exactly.
- 7:55So, but.
- 7:56Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 7:58But.
- 7:58There's a but to that, right?
- 8:02So it could be that they understood it and didn't want to answer.
- 8:06But then what if they didn't understand you, your question and that was their answer, then what can I draw from that?
- 8:16So let me get this.
- 8:18So I know that I'm understanding it.
- 8:21So you're asking me when I asked the question to the people and they answered yes, because they gotta, you know, they gotta put their makeup on and things like that.
- 8:32Yeah.
- 8:33And I stopped him and said, no, no, no.
- 8:35And then I broke it down.
- 8:38So when I was doing this experiment, when the ones that would say yes because they had to look, I said, well, you didn't understand the question.
- 8:50So I had to break it down.
- 8:52But some of them, to me, when I done the further questioning, they was actually, they probably knew and understood what I was talking about, but they was deflected.
- 9:06That's what I was.
- 9:07That's what I was getting at.
- 9:09That's where I was going.
- 9:10They didn't want to work on sale.
