- Jenn: We're just going to Couch Surf. That's fine. Yeah. I haven't done that ever. Me either. I was going say it a long time, but. Erica: I was gonna say in a long time but Jenn: Never. I haven't either. Erica: And we're still figuring it out. Jenn: And we're still figuring it out. I think the longest process is setting up. Yes. Well, we also moved locations. we will be right because we moved locations. Because we're still using our phones. One day we're going to graduate to cameras. Erica: think the longest process is setting up. Yes. Well we also moved locations. And we well we right, because we moved. But even if we didn't it would still be a long setup. Because it's we're still using our phones. One day we're gonna graduate to camera. Jenn: We just need people to listen first before we can afford cameras. We need some sponsors. Sponsors and listening. just, you know, guys, we promise Erica: We just need people to listen first before we can afford cameras. We need some sponsors. Sponsors and listeners. So just you know, guys, we promise Jenn: we will talk about more than just makeup. No, because we will. Erica: Why? No, because we will. What's funny is Jen and I have the most basic makeup routine. I I'm surprised we made a full episode about it, practically. Yeah. Jenn: basic makeup routine. I'm surprised we made a episode about it. Yeah, it was a significant amount of time. was like, can I cut any of this? not by the way, I am not filtering anything. Erica: By the way, I am not filtering anything. Jenn: I was just like, OK, we've gone on for entirely too long. We're just going to go ahead and get rid of the last 30 seconds of this, you know. Anyway, so so I went away this weekend, but Jen and I talked to Jen and I talked about when we want to go away, we just Erica: Get rid of the last 30 seconds of this. Yeah. Anyway. So So I went away this weekend, but Jen and I talked about Jen and I talked about when we one of us go away, we just don't bother each other. Right. I come to see Jen today and she had like a whole glow up while I was gone. She has her hair did. Jenn: don't bother each other. Right. I come to see Jen today and she had like a whole glow up while I was gone. She has her hair in. I got my hair cut. Yeah. I got my hair cut. It's a little bit darker. We needed we needed Erica: Colored cut. It's a little bit darker. She has fall colors in there. Jenn: a little something. Little something. Yeah. Thanks. Erica: I love it. It looks good. Jenn: I like it too. Yeah. My girl did a good job. Why don't go through phases where we like we just want long hair and then we short hair. I don't know. Erica: Why do we go why do we go through phases where we're like we just want long hair and then we want short hair? I don't know. Jenn: But I was literally I've been the longest relationship besides my husband is my hair girl. Because I've had her since I've moved here. And she was like, she's she's kind of got the same blonde as me right now. And she was like, ready to do the same exact thing. So I just think it's something about fall, even though it's still like 80 degrees out. Erica: She was like she's she's kinda got the same blonde as me right now. She was like ready to do the same exact thing. So I just think it's something about fall, even though it's still like eighty degrees out, I think makes us want to go a little darker, a little bit more moody. Yeah. Ooh. I like it. I do really love it. normally we don't Jenn: I think makes us want to go a little darker, a little bit more moody. Yeah. I like it. Yeah. Okay. So you went away this weekend and normally we don't talk to one another, but we did talk to one another quite a bit. Do you want to talk about Erica: But we did talk to one another quite a bit. Do you wanna talk about Jenn: that? Erica: that? No. You don't want to talk about the four FaceTimes in a row. No, the only thing I wanna say is I laugh 'cause the next morning I woke up and I was like, Jen, did you hear this? You said four times yesterday. And I was like, god. And that's awesome. Jenn: You don't want to talk about the four face times in a row. No, the only thing I want to say is I laughed the next morning. woke up and I was like, Jen, did you hear the she said four times? I was like, God, you were having a great time. And that's awesome. You guys came back mostly unscathed, mostly not injured, which is good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. OK. All right. And meanwhile, while you were gone, it was was. Erica: Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. It was on meanwhile while you were gone. It was it was it was honestly though, it was one for the bo it was truly was like the best weekend. I'm so happy for you. And f I made it on the trip. You did, flat Flat Jenn made it on the trip. And you had a great time. I I I it appeared so. You did. Yeah. You made it home safe. Jenn: Honestly though, was one for the book. It was truly was like the No, and I'm so happy for you. I made it on the trip. You did. Flat Jen made it on the trip. And you had a great time. It appeared so. You did. You made it home safe. I made it home safe. Yes. Our friends were kind enough to let me tag along and yeah. Erica: Mm-hmm. And then my son, you went to his baseball game yesterday because he insisted that Flat Jenn needed to continue the journey. And the Jenn: My son, went to his baseball game yesterday because he insisted that flag and he needed to continue the. Yeah. And the reason I didn't go just as an aside is because Erica: Is Jenn: when my son's birthday was last week and to 2021, there was a family reunion slash celebration of life for my grandparents out in California. Erica: Mm-hmm. Jenn: And I went and it happened to fall over his birthday. Mind you, he was, you know, five years younger then. But I didn't hear the end of it. So I swore I would never do that again. No, for the Erica: Mm-hmm. Happened to fall over his birthday. Mind you, he was, you know, five years younger then. but I didn't hear the end of it. So I swore I would never that again. And you never will for the rest of his life. Jenn: for the rest of my life, I'm never going to do that. I just won't be gone ever. Yeah. So his mom's hard time for forgetting Doritos in the third grade. yes. Erica: And I hate I I feel so bad for him and you. I mean, Danny still gives his mom a hard time for forgetting Doritos in the third grade. So I mean I just feel like it's the it happens. I mean Jenn: It's the things that they, mean, clearly he remembered it. So it's just something that I'm not going to do again. And that was, that was that. I feel like most parents try not to go away. yeah. And it wasn't anything that, I mean, clearly I would have. That was a different situation. It was a different situation. Yes. And the fact that, I mean, they died in 2020, you know, it just, Erica: Mm-hmm. I'm not gonna do again. I feel like most parents try not to go away over their kids' birthdays. That was really I wouldn't Yeah. That was a different situation. A different situation. Yes. Yes. And the fact that I mean they died in twenty twenty, you know, it just Jenn: all of the things, not from COVID, but just all the, right. All my whole family and my whole family was going this time. So it just happened Erica: But your whole family was going. Right. Right? Yes. And my whole family was going this time. So it just happened Jenn: to fall. I jumped ahead. They went again. They were gone exact same time y'all were gone back out to California to do the whole thing again. So it was one of those like full circle, you know, which is it's it's fine. They need to pick a new weekend. I agree. I think the family reunion aspect Erica: They went again. They were gone exact same time y'all were gone back out to California to do the whole thing again. wow. It was one of those like full circle you know, which is it's it's fine. They need to pick a new weekend. I agree. I think the family reunion out. Jenn: of it all, they try to keep it around the same weekend, which I understand. But yeah, pick a different one. Erica: same weekend which I understand, but yeah, pick a different one. Yeah. Please. Yeah. Because it's really expensive to fly all the way out to California with a family of four. Mm-hmm. which you know would have been the alternative to just me going. So And we're all I think it's also selfishly you would like to do other vacations throughout the year. Right. Right. We've got some things Jenn: Yeah, because it's really expensive to fly all the way out to California with a family of four Which you know would have been the alternative to just me going so but we Right, right, we've got some things planned and so this just wasn't wasn't in the cards. So Yeah Anyway, so this weekend though, you're going away to a wedding Erica: Wasn't in the cards. Yeah. I get that. Yeah. So this weekend though, you're going away to a wedding? Jenn: Yes, Erica: Yes. Jenn: I have a wedding down in South Florida, West Palm area. So pretty. So pretty. But I'm Erica: Ooh, it's so pretty down there. So pretty. So pretty down there. Jenn: a little nervous because of the weather. I mean, we had a nice night last night. I'm sure where you are was. Did you go outside last night at all? Yes, I was dropping off at sports and it was incredible. It was like there was a breeze. It was like Erica: where you are was did you go outside last night at all? Yes. I was dropping off at sports and it was incredible. It like there was a breeze. It was like quite cool. Our games got cancelled. Okay. did it rain? Was going to yes. yes. Well as soon as it lightnings you have to wait thirty minute delay. Yeah. Because they canceled the skies were black though. Yeah. Yes. That was like the Florida State game over the weekend. I mean I know you don't care about Florida State but Jenn: quite cool but okay did it rain was going to be yes okay well as soon as the lightning she would have to 30 minute delay yeah yeah the skies were black though yeah yes that was like the florida state game over the weekend i don't i mean i know you don't care about florida state but i care because my friends i i know but they were on a rain delay for like three hours or something they were every time i would turn it on it was rain delay it wasn't your first delay this evening Erica: I care because my friends care. I know. But they were on for like three hours or something. Yeah. That wasn't on, it was brain delay. It wasn't your first delay this season. Listen. FSU have to pay the light bill. Can we get it together, FSU? Jenn: Listen, can we get it together? Can we get it together? FSU? That would be great. I would really like if this season perhaps we could get it together. So then because we were on a rainy day delay for so long, by the time other games started, had we have YouTube TV and so we had multiple games on and Erica: if this season perhaps we could get it together. I so so then because we were on a rain day delay for so long by the time other games started we had we have YouTube T T V and so we had multiple games on. The split screens going on. You had the split screens going up. Yeah the quadruple we had the split screen had everything Jenn: What's that? we had we had the quadruple. had the split screen. We had everything. And so at one point, Florida State wasn't even on the TV in the lineup. And Erica: Florida State wasn't even on the T V in the lineup and Jenn: I I was like, Erica: I was like Jenn: I'll check it on my phone. And we were up and I was like, OK, I'm not going to watch any more of the game, because, of course, that's how sports work. If I don't watch any of it, then we'll win. And anyway, so that is not. Erica: watch any more of the game because of course that's how sports work. If I don't watch any of it then we'll win. Mm-hmm. And anyway, so that is not what the outcome was. It was not. But you guys were up at some point. We were up and I attribute it to Jenn: what the outcome was. I, we were up, we were up and I attribute it to the fact that I turned it on and I started watching it. It was my fault. I love game days Yeah. It just sounds, that's some, yeah. Yeah. It's weird because I'm from New England and college football is not thing up there. Right. Patriots. Right. And I, Florida did something to me. Yeah. Like I don't even really watch pro like the Patriots are on my, yeah. Brady left. Well, but I mean, Erica: I I love game days. I love game days. There's it just says does something for the soul. And it's weird because f I'm from New England and college football's not big up there. It's pro. So we're a Patriots. And I Florida did something to me. And now I'm like I don't even really watch pro, like the Patriots are on like, huh? And and after Bro Brady left, I was like, and then Gronka's Jenn: the Super Bowl. We're the Patriots in the Super Bowl for like a while. This is also not a sports podcast. Just I'm not. We should probably not talk about this anymore. No, not one bit. That's why we shouldn't even talk about it on that aspect. But that's OK. We we we had people over and we did the tailgating and we had food. We have said is the extent of what we know. That's it. Erica: Many times. This is also not a sports podcast. But we don't even know anything about sports. No. That's why we shouldn't even talk about it on that aspect. What's okay. What we have said when we did the tailgating we had food. What we have said is the extent of what we know. That's it. Jenn: That's it. That's it. I'm waiting this weekend. whether. Erica: Okay. So you have a wedding this weekend, you're worried about the weather? Jenn: Little bit, just because it was so nice last night and I am dreading the heat of it all and the humidity of Erica: Yeah. Jenn: it all. But it'll be nice. And the boys have like sweet little outfits. Sweet. I don't even know why Erica: that's good. Jenn: I said the word sweet little outfit. That kind of actually sent a chill down my spine. They have really cute. Handsome. Erica: Handsome. Jenn: Whatever. doesn't even matter. No matter what, he's going to be annoyed. Erica: He's 13. No matter what, he's gonna be annoyed. they have really cute outfits. I took them shopping because we needed a more than just one because I can't trust them to not get something on it. We have a cocktail night and a wedding night, and or you know, like a dinner not rehearsal dinner because it's much less formal than that. But anyway, we're I took them. Jenn: They have really cute outfits. I took them shopping because we needed more than just one because I can't trust them to not get something on it. We have a cocktail night and a wedding night and or, like a dinner, not rehearsal dinner because it's much less formal than that. But anyway, I took them to try out on a bunch of stuff. And normally I let them try things on. Erica: to try on a bunch of stuff and normally I let them try things on on their own, let them do their thing. But because we had so many outfits and I needed to see sizes, I was like, I'm coming in, sorry. And they were like, Mom, you know, so annoyed with me. but it was a good thing because we just I needed to get through all of the the items. And anyway, we've got some good, good stuff that they will wear. Jenn: on their own, let them do their thing. But because we had so many outfits and I needed to see sizes, I was like, I'm coming in, sorry. And they were like, mom, you know, so annoyed with me. But it was a good thing because we just, needed to get through all of the items. And anyway, we've got some good, good stuff that they will wear. Hopefully more than once. It's tough. It's really tough. They are, you know, running shorts and t-shirt kids. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and Erica: Hopefully more once. They will. It's really tough. They they are you know like You're just going to have to bring a few steakhouses. Bring to a few steakhouses and yeah. Yeah. Well Jenn: my oldest has some things, dances and things like that, that he'll be able to wear his hat. So that'll be good. So we'll see. I don't know what it is about weddings. It's like you get, cause you can get dressed up and go to a dinner or have other events. Erica: that's right. Yes. Yes. We'll see. I I don't know what it is about weddings. It's like you get because you can get dressed up and go to a nice dinner or or have other events. But to go to get dressed up, you know you're getting a good meal, hopefully. for sure. Yeah. You get a nice cocktail. Yeah. And then you have dancing. Yes. There be. But we talked about this. Like our age, it's hard to find dancing. I know. Like I don't want to do club dancing. No, no, no. Jenn: But to go to get dressed up, you know you're getting a good meal. for sure. Yeah. You get a nice cocktail. Yeah. And then you have dancing. Yes, there better be. But we talked about this, like our age. I know. I know. I don't want to do club dancing. No, no, no, no, no. Like, I mean, I do want some 90s. Right. Yeah. Early 2000 hits, whatever. I mean, I just want like, yeah. Erica: I mean, I w I mean I do want some nineties and Right. Two thousand. Yeah, early two thousand. Yeah. But I mean, I just want like Yeah. I want to be in a classy dress doing this, you know? Yeah. Yeah. Jenn: classy dress doing this. Yeah. A friend of ours, I don't think we talked about this, a friend of ours, when her husband turned 40, they threw a prom party. my God. was so fun. So fun. my God. was a DJ. Dressed. Yes. But it was, but they were still dressed up. my God. Like still really nicely dressed. Yep. It was a buffet, I think. Erica: my god, that was so much fun. So fun. my god, there was a DJ. Everybody came dressed up in pro and some people came in funny. Yes. But it was but they were still dressed up. my god, yes. Still dressed up. Yes. Played the part. They played the part. There was a buffet, I think. I think so. What I think there was but nobody even knows if the food was there. I mean Yeah. But there were drinks, but I mean we were Jen and I did not leave the dance floor. No. We did not the whole entire Jenn: I think so. Gosh, was so long. mean, yeah. I mean, were. Jen and I did not leave the dance floor. No, we danced the whole time, Erica: night. Jenn: the whole time. It was so fun. So fun. anybody is ever thinking about doing a theme birthday my gosh. So fun. Yeah. And we literally took Erica: It was so much fun. If anybody is ever thinking about doing a theme birthday, prom is where it's at. Yeah. And we literally Jenn: prom pose at prom pose pictures prior to it was Erica: We did prior to it was yeah. Jenn: hysterical. mean, we I still those will pop up on my, you know, little a camera frame or whatever, my digital camera, and it's hilarious. yeah. Well, hopefully, it's not a prom thing, but Danny is doing a theme for his 40th. OK. OK. We will have fun that night. Yes. I'm having a hard time finding dueling piano. Like, we really want some dueling pianos. Yeah. And we can't find any in the area. Like, we found one guy and he won't respond back to us. But I'm like, how fun can dueling pianos be? Erica: Yeah. Well, hopefully Danny Dan it's not a prom theme, but Danny is doing a theme for his 40th, so hopefully we will have fun that night. I am having a hard time finding dueling piano. Like we really want some dueling pianos. Yeah. And we can't find any in the area. Like we found one guy and he won't respond back to us. But I'm like, how fun would dueling pianos be? Jenn: You've got some time, but yeah. You almost might have to reach out to like, south of us. this past year come into like a type B personality and I don't like it. It drives me nuts. It's interesting to watch. But planning still, I still in type A. Right. So when you're like, you don't have enough time, like, no, I should, that should have No, I said you have plenty of time. No, I have plenty of time. Right. I don't. You were, you were planning your daughter's graduation party in September. Yeah. yes. Yes. Erica: You know, I have to reach out to like Okay. So this past year I've come into like a type B personality and I don't like it. It drives me nuts. It's interesting. Yeah. But planning still, I still am type A. Right. So when you're like, you don't have enough time, I'm like, no, I should that should have been in the books. No, I have plenty of time. I don't though. I don't. Right. I don't. I I this need you were planning your daughter's graduation party. Almost a year. Yeah. yes. Yes. Jenn: The party was in May. yeah. Location. did. You did. You did. And now with that being said, you do live in an area where things book up quickly. I do. So I understand Erica: I had it all set. Uh-huh. Location. I did her pictures early. And and now with that being said, you do live in an area where things book up quickly. I do. So I understand. Jenn: why you did that. I just I'm not I'm not that person. She came from a big school. I mean, you think about all that was just one of the schools in the air. So I'm like, when you're thinking about all these parents that are right. Right. Right. Yeah. Erica: I'm not person. Well, the she came from a big school and when you think about all and that was just one of the schools in the area. So I'm like, when you're thinking about all these parents that are going to be booking out locations, I was like, I want the topic. Yeah, you're serious. Jenn: Yeah, your city's bigger than mine. Yeah, no, you know what? OK, so the type I'm very type A, except when it comes to certain things with like related to Erica: Except when it comes to certain things with like related to Jenn: that, I always just default to Mike because he has the best luck. He has the best luck he does. but your Mike has a way about him. I people. Yeah. Erica: Because he has But he's a good He has the best luck. He does and but your he Mike has a way about him. I would trust him to get yeah. People just they're like, yeah, fine. Yeah. Jenn: People just, they're like, yeah, that's fine. When's the event? When do you, what do you need? He has the best luck. It's so frustrating. And it takes, no, I was about to say it takes Erica: It's so frustrating. And it takes no, I I was about to say it takes Jenn: no effort. That's not true. I know that he actually does put in effort, but it is, it always appears that he doesn't, which infuriates me because Erica: But he but it's he's very sleek which infuriates me because Jenn: I'm over there like doing the most and he's just like, yeah, it's gonna come together. I'm like, it? Erica: Doing the most and he's just like, Yeah, it's gonna come together. Like, Jen couldn't even get a Verizon phone last week. no, no, no. She's gone into the Verizon, so I said record. AT and T. A AT, sorry. AT and C sorry. Verizon's not any better, but I I have Verizon, so I can say that. I am a techie person. I have listened and you know it. I know her behind the scenes stuff. Yeah. She's done great with the podcast. Yes. Jenn: no, no, no. No, AT &T, AT &T, which is fine. Whatever. just it. I can not with that. I am a techie person. have listened and you know it because I've done all the other behind the scenes stuff. OK, I've I've I've yes. Two AT &T stores, Best Buy, because they finally were like, you need to see the Geek Squad. Go into the Geek Squad. Geek Squad says, we can't see you until 7 PM tonight. It was noon. I said no. And then I made an appointment for the next day and they were like, here's the number for Apple. I get on the phone with Apple, that woman. Erica: Two AT and T stores. Yeah. Best Buy because they finally were like, You need to see the Geek Squad. Geek Squad says, We can't see you until seven PM tonight. Nope. It was noon. No. I said no. And then I made an appointment for the next day and they were like, Here's the the number for Apple. Mm-hmm. I get on the phone with Apple, that woman Jenn: If I could have punched her through the phone, I would have. She was so condescending and she was like, it doesn't even matter what the issue was, but she's like, OK, so we need to turn off his screen time passcode. said it's off. I got rid of it last night because I've already Googled all of the things to fix this phone. And she said, OK, well, let's look. So we log in and it said, set up a screentime passcode. And she's like, OK, so we're going to set one up. Erica: If I could have punched her through the phone, I would. She was nasty to you. She was so condescending. And she was like, it it doesn't even matter what the issue was, but she's like, okay, so we need to turn off his screen time passcode. I said, it's off. I got rid of it last night because I've already Googled all of the things to fix this phone. And she's like, okay, well, let's look. So we log in. And it said, set up a pastime passcode. And she's like, okay, so we're gonna set one up. The way I wanted to just I was so mad. I was so mad. You were tak it was it was like four hours of my life for no reason. I know. my gosh, it should be easier. You don't drink tequila and you called me and you said I said, Do I need to take a shot of tequila? I do not Jenn: The way I wanted to just, I was so mad. I was so mad and it shouldn't have taken, it was like four hours of my life for no reason. my gosh, it should be easier. You don't drink tequila and you called. I called you, I said, do I need to take a shot of tequila? I do not, we already talked about this. Erica: But you don't even say like I joke and say those things like I need a shot of tequila. You don't even joke and say those things just in general. So when you call me I'm like, this is bad. This is bad. Do you even have tequila in your house? Your husband drinks vodka. I have like four bottles in the freezer. For friends? No, from one friend that continues to bring bottles and just leave them in my freezer, which is fine. Jenn: I was so mad. It was so bad. was so bad. Like I said, I actually have like four bottles in the freezer that if it's no from one friend that continues to bring bottles and just leave them in my freezer, which is fine. I don't mind at all. She's going to listen to this and laugh. She's like, I'm come get him. Erica: well she didn't know you had four. No, I did tell her over the weekend, I was like, You should really take these because they're not doing me any yeah good. Yeah. Yeah. it and it's the freezer where Jenn: But no, no, did tell her over the weekend. I was like, you should really take these because they're not doing me any any good. Yeah. Yeah. And it's the freezer where I put like all my frozen fruit for like the ninja creamy and my smoothies. It's tequila and fruit. You got to combine those two girls. No. Yes, it's so good. No, no. Like I said, Erica: So your kids go in there to make the ninja cray fruit. You gotta combine those two, girl. Yes, it's so good. No. No, like Jenn: I just can't. I can't do it. I might be able to do a margarita every now and again if I'm really feeling spicy. Erica: Mm-hmm. Jenn: But that's the problem that makes me spicy. No, not in a good way. Yeah, no. Okay. Right. We talked about that. People are gonna be like, they have problems. Do we rename the podcast? Yeah. will say one of my favorite drinks though, is if you take tequila and you put strawberries and lime in it and then you freeze it. Erica: Ooh. You're already spicy. boy. Yeah. No. See, vodka does that to me. Not gin, vodka. talked about that. People are gonna be like, they have problems. Well, we know that. Do we rename the podcast? No, because we're we're we know we are crazy. We just want you to agree with us. Yeah. I will say one of my favorite drinks though is if you take tequila and you put strawberries and lime in it and then you freeze it. Okay. Jenn: Okay. So it's like a Erica: And then you make it with water. Because like Jenn: margarita. Yes. But then you just add water. huh. After the fact. Yes. huh. Okay. Yeah. All Erica: It doesn't freeze. Yes. But then you just add water. huh. But it's flavored. Yes. huh. And then you have a drink. Low calorie drink. Okay. Yeah. Jenn: right. I just blacked out. Okay. I went somewhere. I don't know where I went. I went back to I'm never drinking again. Erica: I did too. I went somewhere. I didn't I just I went I why well I went back to I'm never drinking again and I just went back to a sad place but I was Sunday. Jenn: And I just went back to the exact place, but it was Sunday. They had a really good time on their trip. Erica: my god, it was freaking amazing. let me go somewhere. What do you Jenn: me go somewhere. Where are you gonna go? I think we talked about this through our friend group, but I think sometimes people have to take a step back and really realize like, Erica: think we talked about this through our friend group. But I think sometimes people have to stay take like a step back and really realize, like, realized that. Jenn: realized that because she's hanging out with her, that doesn't mean that I don't love you. It's just we, people just have to realize where there are places in that person's life and it's okay to have multiple friend groups. Yeah. Well, and it's okay to not be invited to everything. a hundred percent. Yeah. Even now our little, have, I say we're a friend group, they, you guys that live closer to each other, Erica: Because she's hanging out with her, that doesn't mean that I don't love you. It's just we people just have to realize where their place is in that person's life and just and it's okay to have multiple friend groups. Yeah. And it's okay for not be invited to everything. a hundred percent. And even now our little we have I say we're a friend group, but they you guys that live closer to each other, you guys get together all the time. Right. I never get jealous. Jenn: get together all the time. I never get jealous. Erica: I mean you you and one of the by nature, there's just no way for us all to be together the time. No, a hundred percent. But there are times like even where I live, I'll hang out with one of the my girlfriends, but I don't hang out with the other ones and s w but we all are just okay with it. Right. And I do feel like there causes tensions between girl relationship b relationships Jenn: and... Well, just by nature, there's just no way for us all to be together all the time anyway. But there are times, even where I live, I'll hang out with one of my girlfriends, but I don't hang out with the other ones. We all are just okay with it. And I do feel like there causes tensions between girl relationships. Erica: that some of our other friends that have experienced that Jenn: that some of our other friends that have experienced that And I think if people realize that we are at a point in our lives, like forty years old, how old are we? 30, 50, wherever it is, that if you want something, just speak up and say it. Like I've called people, like, hey, like I saw you with so-and-so having fun this week. like the next time you guys do that, give me a call. Right. You know? Yeah. Erica: I think if people realize that we are at a port in our lives, like forty years old, however you are 30, 50, whatever it is, that if you want something, just speak up and say it. Like I have called people, I'm like, Hey, like I saw you with so and so having fun this week and like the next time you guys do that, give me a call. Right. You know, and just kind of invite yourself because I don't I'm Jenn: invite yourself. I don't. I'm too old to overanalyze everybody. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I think that Erica: I I think Jenn: there definitely was a time. I mean, I'm not from this town, whereas Mike is. And so when I first moved here, it was some of that feeling left out, especially because if I had just met somebody and felt like things hit off, you know, I mean, again, this was in my 20s. things are so much different now. We'll get to that in a second. But Erica: You know. Jenn: at that point, was sort of like, okay, we feel like it went really well. We hit things off and now I wanna hang out. You said, let's get lunch, let's get lunch. Like, let's do this, let's follow through so that I can make some friends in this town. So I felt more like Erica: Okay, we feel like it it went really well, we hit things off and now I wanna hang out. You said let's get lunch, let's get lunch, like let's do this, let's follow through so that I can make some friends in this town, you know. so I felt more like Jenn: slighted maybe then. Erica: Lighted maybe then i and Jenn: And I think it probably had something to do with age. It probably had something to do with just being new, you know, in the town, you know, but, but now it's like, Erica: I think it probably had something to do with age. It probably had something to do with just being new. it a hundred percent does. You know. But now it's like Jenn: I'm good. You know, I mean, well, they do say as age for sure, for sure. And it's not that we don't care. It's just, I'm not going to get my Erica: You know, I mean Well, they do say as age, like you care less and less. And and it's not that we don't care it's not that we don't care. It's not gonna get Jenn: feelings hurt over that. Correct. Yeah. And I do. It just, it hurts me that they get. Erica: Correct. And I do it just like it hurts me that they get hurt. Of course. Because it I don't intentionally mean to do that. And I don't sometimes people don't even realize like I have to sit back. I'm saying I sit back sometimes and I'm like, this person may not even know that they're hurting me. So I have to have the adult conversation and the most of the time when you muster up the to go courage to go have those conversations Jenn: hurt. Of course. Yeah. I don't intentionally mean to write. Sometimes people don't even realize like I have to sit back. I'm saying I sit back sometimes I'm like, this person may not even know that they're hurting me. So I have to have the adult conversation and most of the time when you muster up the courage, courage to go have those conversations. Erica: It actually turns out better than you think. And it's you we tell our children to have the hard conversations. They have to happen. Friendships have to have the hard conversations. I mean, I recently had a hard conversation with a girlfriend and I just was like, I had to be honest and I had to talk to her about it and it turned out so well. Jenn: It actually turns out better than you Yes. We tell our children to have the hard conversations. They have to happen. Friendships have to have the hard conversations. Yeah. I recently had a hard conversation with a girlfriend and I just was like, I had to be honest and I had to talk to her about it and it out so well. I know. And you guys are like better than ever. Yes. Yeah. But you have to know because people don't understand or people may not even think or not even have like a blip in their mind of what Erica: Yes. And it's but you have to know because people don't understand or people not may not even think or not even have like a blip on their mind of what how you're even feeling or what you're thinking. So I do think that if females opened up and was like, You wanna, Jen, I see you're always out going to brunch and doing whatever. We don't freaking brunch. We need a brunch. but like w we're out at brunch. Can I the next time you go, give me a shout? Right. Because I'm not Jenn: how you're even feeling or what you're thinking. So I do think that if females opened up and was like, wanna know what, Jen, I see you're always out going to brunch and doing whatever we don't freaking brunch. We need a brunch. Yeah, I know. But like, you're out at brunch, can I, the next time you go. Yeah, hit me up, right. Because I'm not, Erica: Th we know so many people that we can't possibly be like, I'm gonna invite twenty five. Jenn: we know so many people that we can't possibly be like, I'm gonna Well, and you don't have to be abrasive about it. Erica: no, a hundred percent. You know, it's just like Jenn: You know, it's just like, hey, that looks like it was so much fun. Like, let me know next time and I'd love to join. Absolutely. Yeah. I think Erica: Of course. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. I think Jenn: that our kids have such an advantage now because Erica: Because because Jenn: there's so many things constantly in our faces, right? Like, there's so much information out there, whether it be social media, whether it be just the internet in general. Erica: What do you Out there. Whether it be social media, whether it be just the the area in general. Yeah. There's so much information. Yeah. I feel like our kids have such an advantage on Jenn: There's so much information. I feel like our kids have such an advantage on learning things like soft skills. Like they have the ability to read about their feelings, see what those feelings look like. I mean, it's constantly in their faces. I mean, I know in my kids' school, they actually have like a soft skills lesson, like once a month or something, right? Erica: they have the ability to read about their feelings, see what those feelings look like. I mean, it's constantly in their faces. I mean, I know in my kids' school they actually have like a soft skills lesson like once a month. Which is amazing that they focus on that. But I just think that they are setting them s them up for so much more success. I think a lot of times our our younger generations get a bad rap because Jenn: But I just think that they are setting them up for so much more success. I think a lot of times our younger generations get a bad rap because there are certain qualities and characteristics that I wish I could just be like, hey, if you tweaked this, it'd be great. But I think that they really are much more in tune and much more able to have those conversations at a younger age. I wasn't having those conversations at 13. Erica: There are certain qualities and characteristics wish I could just be like, hey, if you tweaked this, it'd be great. But I think that they really are much more in tune and much more able to have those conversations. Sure. At a younger age. I having those conversations at 13. Because I mean Because we had to pick up a ho we had to go home to pick up the house phone to make the phone call. That's why. Right. Jenn: I mean, I was right, right, right, right. So our conversations happen in our head. also back in the day, maybe this is why we're all traumatized from it. We didn't have I know what you were doing. No, you had to pick up the phone. You had to probably talk to the mom and dad and say, hey, can I speak to so and so? Which was nerve wracking. Yes. You know, Erica: So our conversations happen in our head. We also back in the day and maybe this is why we're all traumatized from it, we didn't have I didn't know what you were doing. No. I didn't know what you were doing. No. Now pick up the phone, you had to talk to the mom dad and say, Hey, can I speak to Selvin S. a hundred percent. Which was nerve wracking. Yes. You know. Jenn: nowadays, I mean, how often Are we talking to an actual human being on the phone now too? That's the other thing. Erica: Are talking to an actual human being on the phone now? Yeah. Jenn: When I called Apple, was talking to, I don't even know what his name was, the AI guy to start off. I can't. I am too Erica: my god. I read something on the internet that a the AI and the progression and I'm getting so angry with it. I am too Jenn: because there's times when it's just, I need to talk to a human. I know because people don't Erica: But why are we taking human interaction out of everything? Like I get that Jenn: want to work. Erica: Well then don't work. Like No, I I know, but I just I think I mean you and I both Jenn: I mean, that's where, no, I know, but I just, think that's where we're at. Erica: have jobs and here we are. I mean people Jenn: People don't wanna work or people want to be paid a certain amount and then they can't match that pay necessarily. I mean, everything's expensive. My 18 pack of eggs is $13. You know, I was talking to my aunt this morning about reselling stuff on Poshmark. Yeah. she said, she's like, everybody is going thrifting. Everybody's going thrifting, Erica: my god, it's so My eighteen pack of egg eggs is shh thirteen dollars. You don't you know, I was talking to my aunt this morning about reselling stuff on Poshmark. Yeah. And she w and and she said it she's like everybody is going thrifting, like everybody's consignment. Going thrifting? I'm saying there's a lot of people because everything is so expensive that people are seeking used gently used items. a hundred percent. I'm one of them. Yeah. Because w it is so everything's just so expensive, it's ridiculous because it's like that, okay, you want to spend the money on that one item, but that's just one item. Right. And I'm not even just talking about clothes, I'm talking about anything. Right. So when you put all of our lives together, I mean you just we talk about how much money you just feel like you're constantly like shoving out. Yeah. And Jenn: I'm a lot of people because everything is so expensive that yes, you I'm one of them I'm one of them. Yeah, because it is everything's just so expensive. It's really it's like that Okay, you want to spend the money on that one item, but that's just one item, right? And I'm gonna be just talking about clothes. I'm talking about anything, right? So when you put all of our lives together I mean you just we talked about how much money you just feel like you're constantly like shoving out. Yeah and Erica: People are reaching more for a consignment and you know, people wear me, have an anthropology dress wear it twice and then it's like you wanna thrift it right and sell it off, well the next person can wear it. I don't know. Yeah. I mean the Jenn: people are reaching more for a consignment. know, people wear, me, have an anthropology dress, wear it twice. And then it's like, you want to thrift it. Right. And sell it off. Well, the next person can wear it. Right. I don't know. Yeah. I mean, the only, the only problem I'm having, again, being in a smaller town than you is just some of the thrift stores here don't have the inventory that I would like. So I do have to do a lot more of it online. Which is hard. Yeah. If you can't see touch feel. Erica: Online, which is hard because you don't a you can't see, touch, feel right, the quality. I'm like, I if I'm sheen. We should go down to an expensive area and let's go thrifting. Like let's go to Naples or West Palm or something. Do you? I have a place. Your mom's going? No. No. no, you sorry. I'm Jenn: Right. mean, if I go into Goodwill, half of it's Sheen right now. The brand Sheen. I'm like, if I wanted Sheen. We should go down to an expensive area and let's go thrifting. Let's go to Naples I fully plan on doing that this weekend. I have a place picked out. Looks incredible. no. Just Mike Samley. Yeah. That's all right. I keep thinking it's your brother and that's next year. No, that's next year. Erica: you wonder what was thinking of. I keep thinking it's your brother and that's next year. No, that's next year. dang. I will get it together. Okay. The boys thought it was my brother as well. Okay. Great. Well, they're both in September, aren't they? October. Okay, close enough. We are we're there. Yeah. But yeah, they So you are going thrifting this weekend? yourself or place picked out. I don't know. I don't know. Jenn: Get it together. It's okay. The boys thought it was my brother as well. Okay. October. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, they were like, yes. I have a place picked out. I don't know. I don't know what it's going to end up looking like. I hope I have some time. If you find anything good, better holler at a girl. I know. I'm imagining Erica: If you find anything good, you better holler at a girl that's what I'm saying. I know. I'm I'm imagining Jenn: so many fun things. I'm really hoping. Even if you find my two good pieces, you know, for. Yeah, definitely. Definitely. As long as it's for a good price. Well, that's the thing. Some of those three are still pretty pricey. Yeah. Down there, guess, depending what you're looking for. Right. I don't know. That's the other. That's kind of I like to be in that. But I like to Erica: Even if you find like two good pieces you like score. Yeah. Score. Definitely, definitely. As long as it's for a good price. Well, that's the other thing. Some of those thrift and consignments are still pretty pricey. Yeah. I guess depending what you're looking for. Right. that's the other that's of I know it makes it hard. I but I'd like to be in that Jenn: be in that spot because if I find something that really speaks to me and you and I both shop like that, if we see something in a store that really speaks to us that we love right then and there, we're buying it. I mean. Erica: Mm. If we see something in a store that really speaks to us that we love right then and there, we're buying it. I have to. I won't stop thinking about it. Yeah. I won't. My birthday skirt. Jenn: Yeah, I want my birthday skirt. I walked into that store. I tried it on. was like, that's coming home with me. No, it reversed that real quick. Jen walked in Went like she's looking. was like, sir. Got excited. Did that face went to the dress. It was I disappeared. I was just like, I'll be back. Yeah. tried it on. straight from the dressing room with the one skirt. You paid for it. You're like, I'm Yeah. You didn't even look at the. because it wasn't worth it. Erica: No, reverse that real quick. Jen walked in the store, went like she's looking, saw the saw the skirt, got excited, did that face, went to the dressing room, tried it on. I was just like, I'll be back. I'll No, but you tried it on, went straight from the dressing room w with the one skirt, you paid for it, and you're like, I'm done. You didn't even look at the rest of the store. You're like it Jenn: Also because the skirt was more than I wanted to spend. Erica: also the skirt was so expensive. Yeah. Well, no, it wasn't expensive. Back up, back up. Just kidding. Jenn: Wasn't expensive, Mike, it wasn't. I've worn it three times so far. Exactly. Erica: It wasn't expensive. But she but yeah. So if you put a price on it Jenn: I love it. I still love it. I know. But again, it was worth it. It was worth it. Yeah. I mean, people are going to continue to see it. It is what it is. It lives in my closet. So, Erica: That was still expensive. Even if you the price on it, it was still expensive. I'm just kidding. But again, it was worth it. No, it was. And you will wear it again. Yeah. Because it is gonna continue to see it. It is what it is. It lives in my closet. So yeah. Jenn: yeah. Erica: Maybe you'll wear it one day on the podcast. Jenn: Maybe you'll wear it one day on the podcast. I mean, you won't be able to see it because it's yeah, we're just from here up. in case anybody Erica: I don't know, basically our whole everything's right now. in case anybody Jenn: wants to know my shirt, it's I don't know if you noticed this little girl that's on the phone. I see his cash money. It's it says that wasn't very cash money of you. When did you get that shirt? My mom made it. I know Erica: I see is cash money. It's that wasn't that wasn't very cash money of you. Where did you get that shirt? My mom made it. I love that mom, I want one. No. Jenn: mom made it. Yeah. this was, Erica: This was Jenn: I, I saw it online somewhere and you know how you'll, something will pop up on Instagram and you'll click on, click on it or whatever to buy it. Well, I clicked on it and it was an error every single time. Like the website was just corrupt or whatever. And I sent it to my mom and I was like, I, uh-huh. And I sent her this shirt and I was like, I need this shirt and she made it for me. Erica: And you know how you'll something will pop up on Instagram and you'll click on click on it or whatever to buy it. Well, I clicked on it and it was an error every single time. Like I the website was just corrupt or whatever. so you my mom. you sent like a screenshot. huh. Okay. And she made it? And she made it for me. How did she make it? Is it printed? I'm so confused. It is. It's screen printed. So she's got a company on. Jenn: It is it's screen printed. She's she's got a company on it on Etsy. Shout out. Yeah, LaRubia online. Really? LaRubia online. Erica: Shout out. Does she? Really? So she can make a frag shi Jenn: Freight shift. Fridge sig shirt. She could. Yes. Fridge sig. Sure. Yes. All the ones I'm looking at, it's like so huge. like, huh. Just a little like. Okay. Erica: Fridge Sig shirt. She could. I want a fridge sig. Wow. That is shirt. Yes. I but all of the ones I'm looking at is like so huge. I'm like, I just want like a little a little corner. Okay. do Jenn: We can do that. Right, right, right. Little something. Yeah. No, no, no, no. I right. Erica: that. Like I don't mind the things big on the back. Like I got a few shirts with the big on the back. That's whatever. But I just want like a little something. I don't need the Diet Coke can looking like a marble can in a fridge and Jenn: I don't need it. I don't need that either. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's a Erica: wow that's awesome. Does she do good with it? Yeah. Yeah. Jenn: I mean, it's a hustle hustle. Yeah. So where we went this weekend, the girl. Erica: Yeah. So where we went this weekend, the girl so our good friend, best friend, lives there. Mm-hmm. Yes. In Georgia. Yes. So she has a full time, like great money making job. And she does photography on the side. Jenn: So our good friend, best friend lives there. Yes, in Georgia. Yes. So she has a full time, like great money making job and she does photography on the side. Mm hmm. OK. And it is nature photography. OK. Yeah, I knew this, but couldn't remember the whole. I looked at her page when I got home. Yeah. She is incredible. my God. Erica: And it is nature photography. Animals. Yeah, I vr knew this but whole I looked at her page when I got home. Yeah. She is Incredible. my god. Jenn: Like the pictures I want to print, we should. We're going to print and it on our office. We should. No, there's Jen. If anybody else wants to follow her, she's got her pages. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But you just like can message us. But yeah. What's her what's her page? I can't remember because it's it's K dot Erica: Like the pictures I wanna print, we should we're gonna print and put it in our office. We should. No, it there's Jen, if anybody else wants to follow her, she does her page is public. But you just like can message us. But Jen's what's her page? I can't remember because it's it's K dot Jenn: something. OK, OK. I asked her four times this weekend. I don't look it up. OK. But no, they are truly so good. Like I said, OK, I it to my name. We will clip this Erica: Something. I can't remember it. I asked her four times this weekend. So I gotta look it up. But no, it it they are truly so good. Like I sent to her f I went I sent it to my neighbor last night. Jenn: and put this little blip. Erica: Sure. I sent it to my neighbor last night 'cause I'm like, you have to look at these pictures. Yeah. Yeah. She's so she goes, she's gone to Alaska, she's gone to South Africa, and she gets close up to these lions and stuff. That's cool. And she like her stories and she does it pure enjoyment. Uh-huh. She doesn't get paid to do it. She doesn't want to. That's but that's what this is. Jenn: up with her page. Yeah, I'm down. she goes, she's gone to Alaska, she's gone to South Africa, and she gets close up to these lions and stuff. That's cool. Like her stories and she does it pure enjoyment. huh. She doesn't get paid to do it. that's but that's what this is. That's what this is. You know, like you just you've got to find something that brings you joy and you've got to just go with it. Erica: Yes. That's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. No, I would love to see it. Because this is joyment and we're not getting paid to do this. Not currently. Not currently. We'd love to. Not currently. Not a sponsor. When we'd love to. And we'd love cameras. Not our phones. Because Erica has a hard time keeping her phone charged. That's how this started. You were at 35. Jenn: Yes. That's awesome. Yeah. Yeah. No, I would love to see it. This is enjoyment. And we're not getting paid to do this. Not currently. We'd love to. Not currently. Not sponsored. We'd love to. And we love cameras. Not our phones because our phones are hard to my gosh. That's how this started. You were at 30 percent. Do you even know what percentage you're at right now? It's not good. It's still but it's it's it's it's fine for the podcast. OK, we have a Erica: It's not good. It's no but it's it's it's it's fine for the podcast. Okay. But we have a safe Jenn: MagSafe charger on the back hooked up to the tripod. Erica: I got here. My charger was charged. I got here and I was like, Jen, my battery's at thirty percent. And she was like, No. And I was Jenn: Thank God my charger was charged. You said you plugged it in in the car too. I left the airport on Friday and I got to the airport. It's like 16%. There's something Erica: I left for the airport on Friday and I got to the airport was like sixteen percent. Jenn: wrong with your phone. Hey, good luck getting a new one because you won't. Well, I have do it Verizon. It doesn't matter. Apparently it doesn't matter. I'm telling you, get a new No, I was talking Erica: Hey, good luck getting a new one because you know you Well I have do a Verizon. Doesn't matter. I know. Apparently it doesn't matter. I'm telling you, getting a new phone and getting a new car are the worst. Jenn: to somebody else, totally different service. Same thing. Had the same problem. It's ridiculous. It should not be that difficult. Erica: Same thing. No, they are. Same problem. It's ridiculous. It should not be that difficult. If AI wants to work on something inept. It's because it doesn't Jenn: And it's not because I'm inept. It's because it's not because I'm inept. Did you ask what I said? No. okay. But now I'm curious what that word means. I'm like unable to do it. Inept and definitely crushing that. Erica: No. okay. But now I'm curious what that word means. Like unable to do it. Okay. and definitely crushing that in the future. That's coming I'm gonna flip that one backwards, say it backwards. You better know what I'm talking about. No, but it's not Jenn: I'm gonna flip that one backwards, say it backwards. You're gonna know what I'm talking about. No, but it's not because of that. It's literally because they just make it more difficult. I was inept, thisweekend No, inept. No, I know. That's what I'm saying. Yes. AI need to work on that situation. Yeah. Not know how to get a new phone. And be able Erica: They just make it more difficult. I w I was in Ipped this week. No, in No, I know. No, they do that that's what I'm saying. AI needs to work on that situation. How do we not know how to get a new phone? And be able Jenn: to just transfer everything and have it happen within. I know that they have it. Erica: then why I know that they have it Jenn: designed that way. just doesn't happen. Erica: designed that way. It just doesn't happen. It doesn't happen. It's and then you smash your f Okay, Jenn: Very frustrating. Erica: like Your Apple ID and password. So my son just had to get a new phone. He knew he smashed his phone. Right? So his the screen was broken. Couldn't get in. He couldn't remember his password. Well, we're sending a text to the phone. Well, you can't. You can't send the text. Because the screen's broken. Yeah. And then where do you save your passwords and your phone? Yeah. So you almost have to have like an Apple ID and password secretly f somewhere in your house, like in your underwear drawer or something. So that's a Jenn: Your Apple ID and password. So my son just had to give me a phone. He smashed his phone. The screen was broken. Couldn't get in. He couldn't remember his password. Well, we're sending a text to the phone. You can't. You can't send the screen is broken. Yeah. That makes sense. And your phone. Yep. So you almost have to have like an Apple ID and password somewhere in your house. Taped somewhere. Yeah. Underneath a piece of furniture. That's a piece of that's that's a tip. That is everybody needs to that just gave me Erica: That's a piece of that's a that's a tip. Everybody Everybody needs to go that just gave me Jenn: like a little bit of chills. That's a little scary when you Erica: What? Jenn: think about it when everything's in your phone. And if your phone is just you can't get a hold of it. No, I know you need to you know, it's my dog is outside the door. He just dropped a toy there hoping that Erica: Can't get a hold of it. No, I know. You need to you wanna what some you wanna another thing I do. My dog is outside the door. Okay. Jenn: we'll let him in. Erica: so another thing I do is if something if my kids do something, like my daughter left me a voicemail one day. As I think she was 17. She's like, Mommy, I love you, mommy, so much and you know, she's doing thing. I take the voicemails and I'll email amazing. And then I keep a folder of them. that's a So any and not super important. Like I won't email like social securities or anything like that. Jenn: So another thing I do is if something, if my kids do something, like my daughter left me a voicemail one day. think she was 17. Yeah. Mommy, I love you mommy so much. And you know, she didn't think. I take the voicemails and I'll email them. that's a good idea. that's a really good idea. Super important. Like I won't email like social security or anything. gosh. No, no. have my grandmother's voicemail. She was on her living. Yeah. Erica: But like I have my grandmother's voicemail. She's no longer living, ten years past. So Jenn: I haven't heard voicemails, but I have my certain kids' voicemails, videos, like certain... Devin, I think, one time sent me this text, I like screen-sharpened all the texts and I emailed them because I just wanted to save them for when they're being... That's a good idea. You can reread how they actually The nice ones. Yeah, sometimes we need to remember that our kids do love us. You know what I wanted to do? Erica: I have her voicemails, but I have my certain kids' voicemails on videos or like certain like Devin, I think, one time sent me this text and I like screenshotted all the texts and I emailed them because I just wanted to save for when they're being a a good idea. Pain in the you can reread how much they actually do love you. Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes we need to remember that our kids do love us. You and what I wanted to do that Jenn: That you, Jen, celebrated the birthday last week. Erica: You Jen celebrated the birthday last week Jenn: and she was at a dinner and it was a very emotional moment her and her son had. And I almost wanted to screen shot, I'm still thinking about it, screen shot that moment and I wanted to like, the days that are rough, like just send her that, but that's just to go back to that moment, it gives her a little bit of hope. Yes, just a glimmer. You just need a little bit. Us women don't need much. No, and my Erica: and she was at a dinner and it was a very emotional moment her and her son had. And I almost wanted to screenshot I still think about it, so maybe I'll just do it. Screenshot that moment and I wanted to like the days that are rough, like just send her that. It gives her a little bit of hope. Right? It just need you just need a little bit. Us women don't need much. No Jenn: kids are so good. They just, you know, all of them have their things. Erica: All of them have their their all good and they all love us and other people. They're especially good for other people. But sometimes when you just have hard moments, and there'll be periods, like you may go a year and it'd be like this was great. Hence, I mean, my daughter was good up to this past year, and then I was like, What happened? But I know she I know she still loves me. You know, they they're growing still. Yeah. Jenn: They're all good and they all love us. Yes. And other people, they're especially good for other people. Yes. But sometimes when you just have hard moments and there'll be periods like you may go a year and be like, this was great. Hence, I mean, my daughter was I really hope so. And then I was like, what happened? Yeah, I know. I know. It's just, you know, they they're growing still. They're still developing and all of that. Well, their brains are changing and we've talked about this a Erica: Well and I do I mean we've talked about this a lot, but I think parents and I do try to keep this in Jenn: but I think parents, and I do try to keep this in mind, mind myself that your children are also, they're living life for the first time. children are trying to begin their emotions. Your children are allowed to have bad days, bad moments. And most of the time, especially when they get older, they're having a bad day and they can't even say, I'm having a bad day. I just need a minute. Our husbands sometimes can't, we can't sit past And sometimes you can't even Erica: mind myself that your children are also they're living life for the first time. Your children are trying to manage their emotions. Your children are allowed to have bad days. Yeah. Bad moments. And a most of the time, especially when they get older, they're having a bad day and they can't even say, I'm having a bad day, I just need a minute. Right. Our husbands sometimes can't we can't even say that sometimes. And and sometimes you can't even Jenn: put a, pinpoint exactly what it is that's bothering you, you just can't. Yeah. And I think if our kids learned to voice those type of things, but we just have to give some people grace is what I'm saying. Yeah. Because our kids, even when they're five, throw an tempertantum like why Like they're just figuring it out. Why? It doesn't mean that that it's right and it should be done. But right now, why? Yes. Yeah. Erica: Sure. You just can't. Yep. Yeah. And I think if our if our kids learn to to voice those type of things, but we just have to give some people grace is what I'm saying. Cause our kids, even when they're five throwing attention, like why to like they're just figuring it out why? It doesn't mean that that it's right and it should be done, but figuring out why. Yes. Yeah. Like if you're in the ability to figure it out. Yeah. Jenn: giving them the ability to figure it out and think it through. Let's take a minute. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Erica: I mean, if your son comes home in a bad mood today from school, you're not gonna be like jumping down his throat. Well, maybe you will, but but you're gonna be like, okay, so you had a bad day. I'm just gonna give you a minute. Correct. You know, just kind of understanding that I think is huge. Yeah. My husband needs to understand me more. I'm just kidding. I'm a simple creature. I d you know what it was so sweet. So we're on I w I was on vacation this weekend and Jenn: So we're on, I was on vacation this weekend and he mopped and cleaned the entire house. So I came home Monday, Sunday night. I came home, the entire house was clean and he had like beautiful flowers. Not just, I'm impressed because this is big. If you knew my husband, you'd say this is big. He didn't just go and buy me flowers. He bought multiple flowers. An arrangement, Jen. Wow. And he did it? Not your daughter. We have confirmation. Erica: He mopped and cleaned the entire house. So I came home Monday, Sunday night. I came home, the entire house was clean and he had like beautiful flowers. Not just I'm impressed because this is big. If you knew my husband, you'd say, This is big. He didn't just go and buy me flowers. He bought multiple flowers and made an arrangement, Jen. Wow. And he did it. Yes. And your daughter. We have confirmation. My daughter has not been home. My h my daughter went o also away this weekend down to Boca. Jenn: also away this weekend down to Boca. Okay. that's right. That's right. Yes. She's safe. Yes. She's in my area. Yeah. Just still at her friend's house. And the reason I know he didn't buy the arrangement like this is because they're all different sizes. Okay. So he made Erica: And she has not yet been home. she's safe. Yeah. She's in my area. She's just is still at her friend's house. but no I came home and the reason I know he didn't buy the arrangement like this is because they're all different sizes. Okay. So he made Jenn: the arrangement. They were a little bit askew. Yes. Okay. And like the white one. But that's really sweet. I was beautiful. Like, yeah. Erica: They were a little askew. Yes. Okay. And like the white one the back's really No, and I just I was beautiful. Like those that's Jenn: That's really sweet. And the floors were clean, although that is something. my. Hey, man, Erica: really I was like, I love it. The floors. The counters and the counters. That's big too. Yes. Like floors, counters. He said I vacuumed three times before I mopped. Is what he said. And I believe he did. Jenn: my but I will say my the mental capacity and the things that I am able to deal with directly coincides with how clean my countertops are. If if my countertops Erica: If you Jenn: are a jumbled mess. I have a hard time. can't. I can't. Like I'm literally I'm kind of like going in circles because I just I need that clean Erica: you're me talking about with clutter. Okay. You of course, yes. No. Well you just get like dysfunction. Because I just I need that clean. Jenn: before I can like move on to the next task. Yeah. Yeah. was. But even if you put your hand down and you touch because I have black countertop. I have black. So if I my hand down and I go into something. Erica: I do get like that. Yes. That's a little bit that's your type A. Yeah. Yeah. I was but even if you have put your hand down and you touch because I have black countertops. You have white ones. I have black. So if I put my hand down and I go into something, it's a spiral moment for me. I'm like the whole kitchen needs to be re cleaned. Wait, why? Because if it's dusty or something? No, like if if like I someone got like a glass of orange juice and it like dried in the juice you know, because it's hard to see on the black countertops. So my kitchen has Jenn: me and my dog kitchen needs to be reclaimed. Wait, why? Because if it's like dusty or something? No, like if, if like I saw about like a glass of orange juice and the juice. it's hard to see on the black. Yes. So my kitchen has my house. I'm sorry. Has tons of natural light. I do not have any. My kitchen is like in the middle of my house. Right. There's no windows. Yes. So my black, this is a fault. Erica: My house, I'm sorry, has tons of natural light. I do not have any my kitchen is like in the middle of my house. There's no windows. So my black this is a fault of natural light, is that you see everything. But without having windows, you can't see the glare of like the dust or the dirt. So it's just like black. Now I mean obviously you can turn on the lights and stuff, but I try not to waste electricity when I don't have to because the rest of my house is Jenn: natural light is that you see everything. But without having windows, you can't see the glare of like the dust or the dirt. So it's just like black. Now, I mean, obviously you can turn the lights and stuff, but I try not to waste electricity when I don't have it. Well, the big light, I don't need the big light on until the evening. Correct. I like lamps on. I have them on timers. I'm like, I do. I do. have them. Erica: I have like little lamps and s correct. But the but the rest I like lamps on, I have on timers or I I'm like my god, you're type A personnel. I do I Jenn: Just saying. Actually, it was weird because I changed Erica: Shape it was weird because I changed Jenn: the light timer slightly. I Erica: So now it's thirty minutes before sunset they come on. Okay, so like eight thirty nine. But it'll change depending on the year because it just tracks sunset and then it'll do it thirty minutes. Okay. So then my house isn't getting too dark. No, I get that. But it one night at seven thirty you were sitting there getting angry. But last night Jenn: So now it's 30 minutes before sunset they come on. Okay. it'll change depending on the year because it just tracks sunset and then it'll do it 30 minutes. So then my house isn't getting too dark. No, I get that. Yeah. One night at 730 you were sitting there getting. But but last night I was like why are the lights not coming on? I was like because it's not 30 minutes prior. I'm like if that was that special time of the month and you're like Erica: Yeah. because it's not 30 minutes. And I was la I was just laughing in my own brain 'cause I'm like, if that was that special time of the month and you're like, What did the lamp not turned on? do that It would have been a trigger. 'Cause everything triggers three, four days before I'm like Jenn: I don't do that anymore Erica: It is a real thing. I know. I read a thing online today and you know everything you read online is so true. I'm like it it says that women cannot help that. I I listen, here's the thing. I don't get a period anymore. I didn't know if you were gonna so I stopped myself because I didn't know. Okay. I don't Jenn: I know. Obviously. I know. Listen, here's the thing. I don't get a period anymore. It is what it is. It's fine. No, it's fine. I don't get a period anymore because I had an ablation. Totally fine. It's all good. That's HIPAA. Well, No, no, no, I know. Erica: That's HIPAA. I'm just kidding. kidding. Jenn: But because of that, I never know. I'm like, am I just being Erica: Yeah. Jenn: a little emotional because I don't know. It's always really a crap shoot. Kind of fun. So I'm synced up with two other girls. God. And they don't hang out. like, they're two, three. And we always are like, it must be that time. Because we're angry can't. Yeah. Things is now like, like I'm aware and have knowledge of it. I do. Erica: So I'm synced up with two other girls, my girlfriends. And they don't they don't hang out. So like the two completely and we always are like, It must be that time 'cause we're angry. And you can't the thing is is now I like I'm aware and have knowledge of it. I do I do. I'm like yeah I know it's not like we're be miserable. now I just yell it. I'm like if you guys don't want any of this, everybody needs to leave. Like 'cause you can't I I'm not trying to. I Jenn: yeah, it's not like we're trying to be miserable or mean. No, you're not trying to. It's truly just... Erica: I put on all black and I'm going. Jenn: Okay, note to self. Erica: I just feel no. But I will say, so while I was gone this weekend, Jen was an amazing friend and worked so hard on getting the podcast out. She did. And it's it's but we do have one time this one is. Jenn: So while I was gone this weekend, Jen was an amazing friend and worked so hard getting the podcast out. did. it's it's by the time this one is released, that one we will have announced that that one is up and running. Disclaimer that the sound Erica: Yes. Jenn: quality on that one because your mic wasn't working. Did we double check this? Okay, great. What about yours? It's blue and green. my mic was plugged in, but for some reason it didn't. Right. was like the buttons were on, but it wasn't on on. Yeah. And so that first episode sound is a little bit off. Yeah. And, and, but it was too much time. Like Erica: I did turn my mic on. Well, it's blue and green. I what about blue and green. So I my mic was plugged in, but for some reason it didn't Right. It was like the buttons were on, but it wasn't on on. Yeah. And so that first episode's sound is a little bit off. Yeah. and but it was too much at Jenn: it was, it was an hour long that I was like, I don't want to throw this entire thing away. And we just, Erica: Because it was also a good episode. That and we didn't we don't have the time to just Jenn: Because it was also a good episode. That and we didn't, we don't have the time to just re-record. Because we are doing this for fun. It's meant to be fun. Too much of our family and day-to-day lives. We do have other responsibilities. good, the dryer's going. Erica: Also because we're doing this for fun. We are doing this for fun. So we're trying not to like affect too much of our family and our day to day lives 'cause we do have other responsibilities. good. The dryer's going. Hmm. Wonder who turned that on. Must have been the dog. Jenn: Must have been the dog. Please, you can't hear it. Erica: you can't hear it. you hear it as a button in the shirt going. Jenn: Okay. Erica: I am dying right now. So funny. Jenn: I'm leaving this in. my god. No, you did work really hard. So it's released. You really have taken on what you're great at. And I've taken on without us even talking. Yeah, you do the social media aspect of things. It I can do it. I've posted it just it's not normal for me. It's not innate and it's not it's not something I think about like. Erica: my god. No, you did work really hard and So it's really but you really have taken on what you're great at and I've taken on without us even talking. It was just kinda like kind of like the social media aspect of it I do. It I can do it. You can. and I've posted It's just not n it's not more normal f for me I like I like social media. it's not something I think about. Jenn: I got my hair done today Erica: Yeah. See I rotate on it. Jenn: and you were like, you should have taken pic literally. Yes. Yeah. And you were like, you should have taken pictures. Erica: You got it done today. at noon, that's right. Yeah. And you were like you should have taken pictures. Jenn: I'm like, didn't even think about it. Did not even did not cross my mind. It just isn't something that's at the forefront. Well, because there were so many changes happening, I think I was more nervous about that too. Erica: did not even did not cross my mind. Yeah. It just isn't something that's at the forefront. Well, and we'll also changes happening, I think I was more nervous about that too. Jenn: Like my girl and I, had like a full consult. We never do again. Erica: We never do. Again. Jenn: I've known her for 17 years. Thank you. Yeah. Erica: But it does look really good. I do we do I love how we both have like the bright money piece. We're like we gotta keep true to our colors. I do wanna go brown though, I think I do. Not not brown brown. Not like brunette brown, but like I don't know because my eye I don't know. I just feel see, you have those beautiful blue eyes and I feel like Jenn: Thanks. I love how we both have like the bright money piece. We got to keep a little bit of blonde. Completely. Not brown brown. Okay. like brunette brown. like, don't know. my eye, I don't know. just feel, see, you those beautiful blue eyes. Your coloring can pull either one off because you Erica: Yeah, I don't know. Jenn: are naturally more tan. I love people's responses. yeah. Erica: I did the chat GBT thing and I love people's responses. It really put some things into perspective. I was like, that's cool. Jenn: Yeah. Yeah. Hey, what's your song, hype song for today? I was thinking about Erica: Hey, what's your song, hype song for today? I was thinking about that. Jenn: What was it this morning? It was the White Stripes. What is that song, Erica: It was the white stripes. Okay. Jenn: though? Erica: I don't know. Seven Nation Army. wow, you really pulled that out. You see, you stop and think it. See, when I get if I have a little bit of pressure, I work well under pressure. Like if you give me a bad situation, I'm gonna work my way out. But it's of the the skills that I have though. That music. That type of pr yeah, see. I was fine in Jesus, Mournus Russell, and a Waymaker. Okay. Okay. I didn't do anything bad this weekend. Okay. I just had a great time. Yeah, no, no, no. Yeah, it was a great time. Jenn: Seven Nation Army. wow, you really pulled that out. I knew it. I knew I was going to get it. Seven Nation Army, White Stripes. I work well under pressure. If you give me a bad situation, I'm going break my way out. This is one of the skills that I have though, music. That type of, I guess. Yeah. Yeah. I was fine. Jesus, Marnie Choslason, a way maker. Okay. Okay. I didn't do anything bad this weekend. Okay. I just had a great time. Yeah, no, no, no. I know. I know. Erica: No, my Jenn: No, my dad and I growing up would play a game in the car. And it was, I enjoy this artist. And so anytime we would be listening to a song, it would be like, name that tune, Erica: And so anytime we would be listening to a song, it would be like name that tune. Jenn: name that artist, whatever. So it's, it would come on Erica: So he would like play a song and it would come on the Jenn: the radio and I would have to try to figure out who it was. And so Erica: that's cool. And so Jenn: I'm not saying my music knowledge is extensive, but it's, it's decent. It's decent. It spans multiple generations. So I like hearing the hype song. kind of do that again on our social media because it's interesting where the people's head is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Well, and everybody starts off differently. I mean, there were some interesting ones. I liked it, but I mean, Erica: music knowledge is extensive, but it's it's decent. It's decent. It spans multiple generations. So I like hearing the hype songs. I kinda wanted to do that again on our social media because it's just like interesting where the people's head is at. Yeah, yeah. And then if you get everybody starts off differently. Yeah. I mean there were some interesting ones. No there were Jenn: it really like, okay. So fun fact, I will wake up with a song in my head. Does that ever happen to you? Erica: no. what's the song that my alarm is at? I didn't even set it like this. Jenn: What's the song that my alarm is at? I didn't even set it. see mine isn't set to anything. I just will literally wake up. Song is already there. know what you're saying. Yeah. I don't do that. However, my alarm is set to see the pressure. It's OK. But anyways, if the song just started playing one day and I literally gets me right out of bed, though. OK. Yeah. East side. OK. All right. Erica: No, I know that. I know it but you I know what you're saying, but I'm saying now that I'm thinking about I don't I don't do that to answer your question. Yeah. However, my alarm is set to see the pressure. Can not gonna think about it. But anyways, the song just started playing one day and I I literally gets me right out of bed though. okay. Yeah. East side. okay. Eastside. All right. you wanna what's funny that I do do though, is that if somebody says a phrase, and it doesn't have to be a particular person, like I could be in a conversation with a rando, and if he says a f Jenn: You know, it's funny that I do do though, is that if somebody says a phrase and it doesn't have to be a particular person, like I could be in a conversation with a rando and if he says a Erica: Anybody says a phrase from a song, I just start singing it. Jenn: anybody says a phrase from a song, I just start singing it. So that's the other thing that my dad and I do. He's that person. He will just like if he hears the lyrics, same thing. And I yeah, that's kind of what made me think about it. Yeah. If you said to me, me, baby. Yeah, right. Not that hit me. Erica: Like I'll be talking to you and if you just been like Yeah. If you said to me, hit me baby one more time, I would just start I would just I would Jenn: I just start saying Britney Spears. Yeah. No, but I just I do do that. Yeah. they probably think I'm weird. It's fine. It's fine. I'm OK with that title. Yeah. Truly. Yeah. Erica: just start singing Brittany Spears. no, but I just I do do that and it's kind of they probably think I'm weird. It's fine. It's fine. I'm okay with that title. Yeah. Truly. Yeah. Jenn: I think. I think it's just accepting who you are. Well, that I mean. I don't think it makes it. I don't think it makes you weird. Erica: I think it's just accepting who you are. Well, that, but I mean it makes it I don't think it makes you weird. I think it's just you are who you are. No, I am. But I just I don't know. Sometimes I'm like life's not that serious. No, it's not. It's really not. Jenn: I think it's just you are who you are. I know I am. But I just, I don't know. I'm like life's not that serious. No, it's not. It's really not. I mean, for some it probably is. Yeah. But I was a virtue. like my husband is stuck with me and so are my kids. So at least I have those. Yeah. Erica: Yeah. But I always revert to like my husband is stuck with me and so are my kids, so at least I have those. Jenn: Those are some guarantees. I have some guarantees. Yeah. Yeah. I do think my husband will love me forever. Erica: No I have some guarantees. Yeah. I I do think my husband will love me forever. I think yours will too. We're all very lucky. Jenn: I think yours will too. I hope so. We're all very lucky. Yeah. What else? you guys still hear the dryer? They know it wasn't mine though, because mine's, you know how loud mine is. Well, Erica: Do you guys still hear the dryer? No, just kidding. Thank God it wasn't mine though, because mine's you know how loud mine is when moving. Jenn: mine's been making like a weird squeaking. So it's Erica: so that would have been hysterical. Jenn: not doing right now, which is good, but it has been quite loud. And we just had it serviced. It's just, she's getting a little old. Erica: Yeah. Jenn: too loud. You know, in case she I mean, I think so. I don't know. Does she have a name? No. We're talking about your dryer. Just just making sure we're still on the same page. Erica: she's sensitive and she's a she? I mean I think so. Okay. Does she have a name? We're talking about your dryer. Okay. Just just making sure we were still on the same page. Jenn: Yep. All right. Well, my foot is asleep and Erica: Okay. Jenn: if I move, I'm afraid that it's going to hurt. Yes. You're going to be in pain. Yeah. Erica: It's gonna hurt. Yes. You're gonna be in pain. Yeah. Jenn: So I'm gonna have to do that off camera. Yeah. Erica: Yeah. Jenn: Okay. I think we did. We did good. We did good wrapping this up. Yeah. And, we're again, we're still getting used to everything. Yeah. Bear with us. blah, Erica: Alright. We did we did good. We did good wrapping this up. Yeah. And we're again we're still getting used to everything, so Yeah, bear with us. stick around. Jenn: Bear with us. Bear. B-A-R-E or B-A-R. B-A-R-E. I'm homeschooling my... Wait. What? Erica: Bear. B A R E or B A R. B A R E. I I'm homeschooling my What? It's not either? Is there a third bear? What? Jenn: It's not either. Is there a third bear? What? I don't know which one it is. No Jen, it's B-A-R-E. There's not a third bear. that's a- Yes bear. Erica: What it is. No, Jen, it's B-A-R-E. There's not a third bear. And that's a homophone. Wow. I'm homeschooling my seven year old right now. Homophones. Jenn: I'm schooling my seven year old right now. Home of phones. Home of phones. You just freaked me out. like. I was freaked out. Wait, what is it? What is it? I was freaked out. Okay. All right. That's, Erica: You just freaked me out. I'm like, there's a third bear. Wait, what is it? What can it possibly be? What vowels that were in place? Jenn: it's because the circulation in my leg is gone. It's going to your brain. It's not there. It's all down there. Erica: It's gone. It's going to your brain? It's not there. It's all down there. Okay. Jenn: Okay. On that note, we're going to go. Bye. Bye. Erica: Bye. Jenn: Okay.
