- 0:00Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 0:03Welcome to our Hero series, where we tell you about an
- 0:05awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 0:08learn about someone who is obedient to God.
- 0:10That's right, lots of bad things happened to him.
- 0:14But he kept trusting in God, and in the end he was promoted to a
- 0:17really cool job. Our hero this week is.
- 0:22Joseph. All right, Josiah, tell us what
- 0:26you know about Joseph. Duh.
- 0:28Joseph was Mary's husband and Mary was Jesus's mom.
- 0:32That's a different Joseph. We're talking about the kid with
- 0:35the coat, Joseph. Right.
- 0:38Joseph was the youngest boy in his family, and he was the
- 0:41favorite. All right, Josiah, tell us what
- 0:43you know about Joseph. Duh.
- 0:46One day his dad made him a really awesome coat that had
- 0:49lots of colors on it and it was Fan and Sea and Joseph's
- 0:53brothers. They were really jealous of him.
- 0:56Then Joseph would have dreams from the Lord and in these
- 0:59dreams his brothers would bow down to him.
- 1:02Joseph would tell his brothers these dreams and his brothers
- 1:04started to hate Joseph. Well, one day they threw him
- 1:08into a giant hole and sold him as a sleep for 20 pieces of
- 1:11silver. From there, Joseph was sold in
- 1:14Egypt to a man named Potiphar, who was one of the main guys in
- 1:17charge. The End.
- 1:20Hold on, that's just the beginning.
- 1:23We haven't even talked about how Joseph became a hero.
- 1:27You see, Joseph worked really hard and Potiphar started to
- 1:30really like him. But guess who else really likes
- 1:34Joseph? Who?
- 1:35Potiphar's wife. Well, I'm sure that everyone
- 1:38like Joseph because he has got favor on his life and God bless
- 1:42everything he did. Yeah, but Potiphar's life, like,
- 1:47really, really, really liked Joseph.
- 1:50No way. How do you know?
- 1:53Well, she would tell Joseph that she wanted to kiss him and hold
- 1:58his hand. EW, stop right there.
- 2:01Joseph can't do that because she has cooties and because that's
- 2:05not his wife. She's married to Potiphar.
- 2:09Exactly. And she would try and try to get
- 2:12Joseph to kiss her and hold her hand.
- 2:16Dude, please spare me the details.
- 2:18Sorry. Every time she tried, Joseph
- 2:21would tell her no. He would tell her that Potiphar
- 2:24trusts him and that they are friends.
- 2:27You could never sin against God. Joseph was the ultimate bro
- 2:31because he followed the bro code and the God code.
- 2:36Well, what happened after he would tell her no.
- 2:38Well, one day she tried to kiss him and grabbed his coat and he
- 2:42took off Ronnie and she held onto his coat.
- 2:44Then she yelled for the guards and told her husband, Potiphar,
- 2:48that Joseph tried to kiss her and hold her hand.
- 2:52Dude, she lied. I know, but guess what?
- 2:57Potiphar believed his wife and he had Joseph thrown into
- 3:00prison. The end.
- 3:03It's not over. You see.
- 3:05Joseph stayed faithful to God and trusted in him.
- 3:08Two years later, Joseph was released from prison and was
- 3:11promoted to be second in command over all of Egypt.
- 3:14Many years after that, his brothers came to Egypt because
- 3:17they needed food and bowed down to him.
- 3:20Hey, that was just like his dream.
- 3:22Wow. Joseph was a hero.
- 3:24Because even when times were tough, he continued to put his
- 3:27trust in God. And in the end, it was obvious
- 3:30that God rewarded his faithfulness.
- 3:32Joseph. Now that guy was a hero.
- 3:43Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 3:46Welcome to our Hero series, where we tell you about an
- 3:49awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 3:52learn about was super strong and had really long hair.
- 3:55That's right. He was a judge that was
- 3:58appointed by God to protect the Israelites.
- 4:01Our hero this week is whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 4:08Whoa, whoa. Our hero is not John Cena.
- 4:10Oh, come on. If it's not John Cena, then I
- 4:13don't know who it could be. Our hero is Samson.
- 4:16Oh Samson, the dude with the big huge muscles who had biceps.
- 4:21Actually, Samson wasn't strong because he had big muscles.
- 4:25He was really strong because he was anointed by God.
- 4:29It was God's anointing that made him so strong that one time he
- 4:32killed the lion with his bare hands.
- 4:35Get out of here. He had bare hands, Judah.
- 4:39I'm just thinking, and I might be stretching it, but if he had
- 4:43bare hands, then he definitely had bare feet, right?
- 4:46No. Samson was a judge of Israel,
- 4:50and his job was to protect the Israelites from the Philistines.
- 4:54Oh, not Phil again. When is he going to learn that
- 4:57he just doesn't win? Josiah Philistines, not Phil
- 5:01Osteen. Anyways, the Philistines wanted
- 5:05to kill him, so one time they sent 1000 soldiers after him.
- 5:09And he was surrounded. He looked to his left and saw a
- 5:12grenade, looked to his right, saw a bazooka.
- 5:16Josiah, they didn't have those back then.
- 5:20Samson picked up a jawbone of a donkey and defeated all of them.
- 5:23What? What is that?
- 5:31Well, you said he defeated them, so.
- 5:36That means he beat them up. He didn't take off their feet.
- 5:42Anyways, Just like every other superhero, Samson had a
- 5:46weakness. Do you want to guess what his
- 5:49weakness was? Kryptonite.
- 5:51Nope. Fluffy bunnies.
- 5:53Wrong. His weakness was falling in love
- 5:56with evil women. Samson fell in love with a
- 5:59Philistine woman named Delilah. I was just about to say that
- 6:03wait, is Samson dumb? His enemy is the Philistines and
- 6:07he's falling in love with their ladies.
- 6:09This sounds like a. Trap.
- 6:11It was every night, Delilah would tell Samson.
- 6:16Tell me the secret to your strength.
- 6:19And he would lie and make things up, like he couldn't be tied up
- 6:22with ropes. And then Delilah would tie him
- 6:25up with ropes in his sleep and she would yell, Samson, the
- 6:29Philistines are on you. And then he would bust out of
- 6:32the ropes and beat up the Philistine army.
- 6:35Well, one night Samson told Delilah the truth that his
- 6:39strength comes from not cutting his hair.
- 6:43Wait, does your strength come from your beard?
- 6:45Like if I shave it, will you be weak?
- 6:48No, I'll just look like I'm 12. That night, Delilah cut his hair
- 6:55and yelled Samson. The Philistines are on you.
- 6:59Samson tried to get up and fight back, but his strength was gone.
- 7:03The Philistines beat him up, took him as a prisoner and even
- 7:06poked his eyes out. Not cool, Phil.
- 7:10Not cool. Later on, the Philistines were
- 7:14so happy about capturing Samson that they had a giant party.
- 7:18They put Samson in between 2 pillars of the building so they
- 7:21can laugh at him. Well, Samson knew that he still
- 7:24had the job to do and he prayed to God and asked him to give him
- 7:28strength one last time. Samson then pushed the pillars
- 7:32and broke them, causing the whole building to fall and kill
- 7:35all the Philistines in it. That day, Samson killed more
- 7:40Philistines than he had his entire life.
- 7:42But what happened to Samson? He died too.
- 7:46What? So Samson is a hero because he
- 7:49protected the Israelites against the Philistines.
- 7:52And even though he messed up and told Delilah the secret to his
- 7:54strength, God gave him super strength one last time to kill
- 7:57the Philistines. And he did it.
- 8:00Now, Samson, that guy was a hero.
- 8:12Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 8:15Welcome to our Hero series, where we tell you about an
- 8:17awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 8:20learn about was faithful and loving.
- 8:23That's right. She was a great woman of God.
- 8:26There's a book in the Bible named after her.
- 8:28Our hero this week is. Roof.
- 8:32That's right. Wait, what?
- 8:34Our hero isn't a roof. That's what you said before we
- 8:37recorded this thing. Or is it rough?
- 8:41No, no. Our hero is Ruth.
- 8:44Ruth. Ruth.
- 8:46Looking back, I can totally see how I got confused.
- 8:50Josiah. Just tell us what you know about
- 8:51Ruth. Well, honestly, I had studied
- 8:54roofs because that's what I thought we were going to talk
- 8:56about. So I know all about butterfly
- 8:58roofs, Dutch hip roofs, flat roofs, baby roofs.
- 9:02You know what, Josiah? Just let me tell the story.
- 9:06There was this guy and his name was Alimola and he was married
- 9:10to a lady named Naomi. Hint, hint, she's pretty
- 9:13important. And they have two sons named
- 9:16Chilean and Malin. Hey Judah, what happens if you
- 9:20put water on that guy Mullen? You get a watermelon.
- 9:25Really, that's the best you could come up with?
- 9:28You know what tastes good with that watermelon if you put some
- 9:32Chilean? Anyways, they moved to a city
- 9:37called Moab. In that city, Chilean and Melon
- 9:40got married to two old by women. Chilean married Orba, and you
- 9:46want to guess who Melon married? Ariel from The Little Mermaid
- 9:49and they had kids named Watermelon, or as I like to say,
- 9:53Watermelon. No.
- 9:56He married Ruth years after they were married.
- 10:00Elimelech died, Chilean died and Malin died.
- 10:04When all this happened, Naomi told Orpa and Ruth to go back
- 10:09home and to get remarried. Orpa left and started.
- 10:12ATV show where she gives everyone free stuff and says you
- 10:15get a car and you get a car and everyone gets a car.
- 10:18No, no, no, no. Not Oprah.
- 10:20Orpa, when Naomi told Ruth this, she said no, She told Naomi,
- 10:27Wherever you go, I will go. Your people will be my people
- 10:31and your God, my God. What's so special about that?
- 10:36More by People didn't believe in God and they worshipped the
- 10:39idols. But when Ruth learned about God
- 10:41from Naomi's family, her life wasn't the same.
- 10:44Then she believed, so Naomi and Ruth moved to Judah.
- 10:49Not you, Judah, is the country I remember.
- 10:52And while they were there, Ruth would go out to the field and
- 10:55would pick up the wheat off the floor that the workers would
- 10:57drop so she could feed Naomi. Well, the guy who owned the
- 11:01field was related to Naomi. His name was Boaz, and he
- 11:05thought Ruth was pretty good looking.
- 11:07So he told his workers to drop more wheat on the floor on
- 11:10purpose so that Ruth would have more wheat to take home.
- 11:13Judah One time I liked a girl and I would try and give her one
- 11:16of my Reese's Peanut Butter cups so she would like me back, but
- 11:20it didn't work. Did it work for Boaz?
- 11:23It actually did. Eventually, Boaz and Ruth got
- 11:26married and they had a son named Obed who was the grandpa of King
- 11:30David who was part of the family of Jesus.
- 11:34So Ruth is a hero because she left her old life of worshipping
- 11:37idols to worship God. She stayed with Naomi and served
- 11:40her, and by being faithful to Naomi, she met Boaz, who she
- 11:45would marry and together they would have a son and be a part
- 11:47of the family of Jesus. Now, Ruth, she was a hero.
- 12:00Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 12:03Welcome to our Hero series, where you tell you about an
- 12:05awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 12:08learn about did something really incredible when he was just a
- 12:11boy. He knew God was really strong
- 12:13and would protect him. Our hero this week is Dave.
- 12:18Josiah, why don't you tell us what you know about David?
- 12:21Well, David had eight brothers and he was the youngest out of
- 12:24all of them. Everyone had a job to do and
- 12:26David got the stinkiest job of them all.
- 12:29He had to watch the sheep. It was super boring and nothing
- 12:32exciting ever happened. That's not true.
- 12:35David killed a lion and a bear while protecting his sheep.
- 12:39Oh, that's right. OK, so one time a lion came and
- 12:42try to steal a sheep and David pulled out his bazooka and he
- 12:45shot a whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. First of all, I'm pretty sure
- 12:49they didn't have bazookas back then.
- 12:51And second of all, David killed the bear and a lion with his
- 12:54sling. Whoa, that must have been one
- 12:57dangerous swing. No, not a swing, a sling.
- 13:01What's a sling? It's like a slingshot.
- 13:04It was a long piece of leather that would hold a rock in the
- 13:06middle of it, and then you would swing it round and round and let
- 13:09it go and the rock would fly out and whack.
- 13:12You're dead. And it's only three easy
- 13:13payments of 1995 if you call in the next 5 minutes.
- 13:16One time there was a battle between the Philistines and the
- 13:18Israelites. Oh, poor Phil.
- 13:20He's outnumbered for sure. He's going to lose.
- 13:22What? No, not Phil Osteen.
- 13:25It's the Philistines. The Philistines had this giant
- 13:28who was 9 feet 9 inches tall. His name was Goliath.
- 13:33Whoa, that dude is almost as tall as a basketball goal.
- 13:36I bet he could dump the ball super easy.
- 13:38I'm pretty sure he could well, Goliath said to the Israelites
- 13:42that they should send out their best warrior to fight him, and
- 13:45whoever won the fight would win the war.
- 13:48How would they know who won? Well, it was a fight to the
- 13:50death, so if you're still alive then you won, but if you're
- 13:54dead, then you lost. No one wanted to fight Goliath
- 13:57because he was so big for 40 days.
- 14:00Goliath would insult the Israelites and tell them mean
- 14:02things like. Oh, I I know he would say mean
- 14:05things like yo Mama jokes. Like, yo Mama is so old she
- 14:09dated Phil Osteen. What?
- 14:12No, it wasn't, yo. Mama jokes.
- 14:14Oh. One day David left his sheep to
- 14:16go visit his older brothers, who were soldiers in the battle, and
- 14:19bring them food. When he got there, he saw
- 14:22Goliath and how afraid everyone was to fight him.
- 14:24David heard that King Saul would give a reward to whoever fought
- 14:27and killed Goliath. You want to know what that
- 14:30reward was? A lifetime supply of chocolates.
- 14:33No. Panda.
- 14:34No. What about a whole bunch of
- 14:36money gets to marry the King's daughter and his family doesn't
- 14:39have to pay taxes? Actually, that's correct.
- 14:41How'd you know? And lucky guess.
- 14:44So David told King Saw that he was going to fight Goliath.
- 14:48David walked down to the Little River not wearing any armor.
- 14:51He grabbed 5 smooth rocks and took his slingshot and walked to
- 14:56Goliath. Goliath looked at David and
- 14:58started laughing and said. Let me tell the rest of the
- 15:00story. I think I know how it goes.
- 15:02All right, Goliath said. Hey, you a cute little boy.
- 15:07I'm gonna cut your head off with my giant sword.
- 15:10And David said yeah, right, God's on my side.
- 15:13And David took the slingshot and launched a rock and smack
- 15:15Goliath right in the center of his head.
- 15:17Goliath fell to the ground. The crowd cheered and started
- 15:19chanting. MVP, MVP.
- 15:22And David took Glide's sword and yelled, sworded, and chopped
- 15:26Glide's head off the end. More or less that day the
- 15:32Israelites defeat of the Philistines because of David's
- 15:34bravery. Wow.
- 15:37David was only a shepherd, but he killed a lion, a bear, and
- 15:41now a giant because he knew that God would protect him and
- 15:44deliver him. David.
- 15:46Now that kid was a hero. I'm Josiah.
- 15:57And now I'm Judah. Welcome to our Hero series,
- 16:00where we tell you about an awesome hero in the Bible.
- 16:03The hero that we're going to learn about was one of the
- 16:05smartest guys to ever live. That's right.
- 16:08God really helped him out and he made wise decisions.
- 16:11Give it up, you must for Yoda. Yoda.
- 16:16Dude, Yeah, Yoda is super smart. Josiah, this is our hero series
- 16:21where we tell kids about an awesome hero in the Bible.
- 16:25OK, you're right. Please give it up for Solomon.
- 16:31Wait, Who's Solomon? Solomon was King David's son,
- 16:35and he took over being king when he was only a teenager.
- 16:39That's a really big responsibility for someone who
- 16:41is just a teenager. It is.
- 16:44Solomon loved God and wanted to do right in his eyes.
- 16:47One night in a dream, God told Solomon that he would give him
- 16:52anything he wanted. Oh man, if I was Solomon, I
- 16:55would have wished for a boat $45 and for a million more wishes.
- 16:59Solomon didn't ask for money or a boat, or to be the most
- 17:03powerful man in the world. Solomon asked God for wisdom to
- 17:07help him make great decisions because he chose wisdom over
- 17:11everything else. God still bless Solomon with
- 17:13lots of money and lots of power. He put God first, and God
- 17:17rewarded him. That's right.
- 17:20One day these two ladies came to King Solomon for help.
- 17:23Oh wait, I know they needed help picking what purse to wear.
- 17:26What shoes look better? Oh, if this dress makes them
- 17:28look, no. No, no, no.
- 17:30The two ladies both had babies, but one night one of the babies
- 17:33had died and the mom of the dead baby was so sad that in the
- 17:38middle of the night she took and swapped her baby out with
- 17:41another so that that mom would think her baby had died.
- 17:45This is so dramatic. It's way better than The
- 17:48Bachelorette. Well, what happened?
- 17:52King Solomon didn't know who the real mother was.
- 17:56Wait, they couldn't just do adna test like on those TV shows
- 18:00where the guy says you are not the father?
- 18:03Nope. So he decided that he should cut
- 18:06the baby in half. This way both moms can have a
- 18:09piece of the baby. Dude, why would he do that?
- 18:13You'll see. So the lady who was lying said
- 18:16yes, cut the baby in half, but the lady who was really the
- 18:20mother said no, please don't hurt the baby, Let her keep it.
- 18:24This is getting so dramatic. Well, from what those ladies
- 18:29said, King Solomon knew who the real mother was and let her keep
- 18:32the baby. What?
- 18:34How do you know? Well, he knew, because no mom
- 18:37would ever want anything bad to happen to their child.
- 18:40Oh, that makes sense. Well, except my mom.
- 18:42She spanks me. Josiah, the reason Mom spanks
- 18:46you is because you deserve it. But she also loves you.
- 18:50You're right, man. King Solomon.
- 18:53He could have had anything he wanted, but he chose wisdom.
- 18:58He was one of the smartest guys to ever live, and saving that
- 19:01baby's life was just one of the many great things that he did.
- 19:05Wow, King Solomon. Now that guy was a hero.
- 19:17Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 19:20Welcome to our Hero series, where we tell you about an
- 19:22awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 19:25learn about was the goat. Wait, hold on.
- 19:28He's not a goat. No, Judah, not a real goat.
- 19:31You know. Goat.
- 19:32GOAT. It stands for the greatest of
- 19:34all time. Our hero was one of the greatest
- 19:36prophets ever. Well, yeah, he was, and he was
- 19:40well respected everywhere he went.
- 19:42A lot of the prophecies he would tell had to do with the coming
- 19:45of Jesus. Our hero this week is Isaiah.
- 19:51All right, Josiah, tell us what you know about.
- 19:53Isaiah Well, Isaiah loved God and was obedient to him.
- 19:58He even had a book in the Bible named after him.
- 20:00And that's where we get the verse by Jesus.
- 20:01Stripes, I am healed. That's it.
- 20:06Should I know more? You should pay close attention.
- 20:12In the Bible there was this guy named Hezekiah and he was the
- 20:15king over all of Judah. Wait.
- 20:17How old are you? 27.
- 20:20That's not true. If you were in the Bible, and
- 20:23the Bible is thousands of years old, then you've got to be a few
- 20:261000 + 27. You're a few 1027 years old.
- 20:30You're old. Josiah.
- 20:33Judah was the name of a country, you know, like America, Mexico.
- 20:39I got it. So Hezekiah was the king of
- 20:42Judah and there was this guy named Sinacharob.
- 20:45God blessing. And he was the king of Assyria.
- 20:48Cinna Cherub sent a messenger. Oh, you mean a message like a
- 20:52Facebook message? No, like a real person.
- 20:55They didn't have Facebook back then anyways, so the messenger
- 20:58went to Judah and told them that the Assyrian army was going to
- 21:01come and take over Judah and that God couldn't save them.
- 21:04Oh. No, he didn't.
- 21:06When the country of Judah heard this, the people went to go tell
- 21:09King Hezekiah what had happened. Want to guess what King Hezekiah
- 21:12did? He rolled up in a ball and
- 21:14cried. Nope.
- 21:16Ate ice cream and watched the notebook.
- 21:17No. Oh, it's obvious.
- 21:20He got an army together and fought back.
- 21:22Actually he didn't even get an army together.
- 21:25He sent some people to tell the prophet Isaiah what had happened
- 21:28and Isaiah said tell King Hezekiah not to be afraid.
- 21:32God says he will deal with sin A.
- 21:34Cherub Oh, it's over for that, dude.
- 21:36What happened next? One night an Angel of the Lord
- 21:39came and killed the Assyrian army that was trying to destroy
- 21:41Judah. 185,000 Assyrian soldiers died that night.
- 21:47Whoa. God really protected Judah and
- 21:49kept them safe. That's right.
- 21:52Isaiah was a hero because when hard times came, he prayed to
- 21:55God and knew that he could put his trust in him to take care of
- 21:58any situation. Isaiah, now that guy was a hero.
- 22:11Hey guys, I'm Josiah. And I'm Judah.
- 22:14Welcome to our Hero series, where we tell you about an
- 22:17awesome hero in the Bible. The hero that we're going to
- 22:20learn about lived underwater for three days.
- 22:23That's right, he's probably the only guy in history to have been
- 22:27eaten by a whale and live to tell the tale.
- 22:30Our hero this week is Pinocchio. No, it's not.
- 22:37Our hero is Jonah. But Pinocchio did get swallowed
- 22:40by a whale. Josiah Pinocchio isn't real, but
- 22:45our Bible story is. Why don't you tell us what you
- 22:48know about Jonah? Jonah was a prophet, and God
- 22:52told him to go to Nineveh to tell the people to get their
- 22:54lives together because they were doing a lot of bad things.
- 22:57Well, Jonah didn't want to go and so he got on a boat and went
- 23:00in the other direction, landed on an island and you won't
- 23:04believe who was there. Justin Bieber.
- 23:08Apparently people got tired of listening to his music and stuck
- 23:10him on that island. Josiah, where do you get your
- 23:14stories from? Listen, Jonah got on a boat to
- 23:18run away from God, and while he was on the boat, there was a
- 23:22huge storm. The waves were super high and
- 23:25Jonah ended up getting thrown overboard.
- 23:28Oh man, I've been telling the wrong story.
- 23:32As soon as Jonah hit the water, the storm stopped and the sea
- 23:36was super calm. Then a whale was swimmed by and
- 23:40he was super hungry, so he swam by.
- 23:44Then he swam by again and then bam, the whale swallowed Jonah
- 23:50and one big goal, and that's where 711 got the idea for a big
- 23:54goal. Not quite.
- 23:58Whales don't eat people, but God sent this whale on a special
- 24:02mission to rescue Jonah while Jonah was in the belly of a
- 24:05whale. Do you want to guess what he
- 24:06did? I'm going to say he made sushi.
- 24:10Wrong. Ate s'mores.
- 24:13Nope. He gave up and said, oh, whale.
- 24:17Wrong again. He prayed to God and told him
- 24:20that he was sorry and he would go back to Nineveh and tell the
- 24:23people to stop being evil. Hold on.
- 24:26If the whale swallowed Jonah, then how did he get out?
- 24:30Did the whale poop him out? No, the whale threw him up.
- 24:38Wait, did Jonah know how to speak Whale?
- 24:40Maybe. Maybe, he said.
- 24:44Thank you, and the whale said. You're welcome.
- 24:52Jonah went to Nineveh and told the people to stop being so
- 24:55evil. The people in Nineveh changed
- 24:57their ways and became good people.
- 25:01The end. The end.
- 25:03So even though Jonah disobeyed God got thrown overboard and was
- 25:08eaten by a whale. He prayed and asked God for a
- 25:11second chance. Then he went to Nineveh and
- 25:14helped save all their lives. Jonah, Now that guy was a hero.
