- 0:00Speaker 1: A Payton. You just you said something that made me
- 0:01Speaker 1: think about something, because you said, we're speaking of TV
- 0:03Speaker 1: shows because you're doing the book club, but you're reading
- 0:05Speaker 1: a book from a TV show you already saw, right, Yeah,
- 0:08Speaker 1: I think you guys watched it too.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It's actually incredibly difficult. I'm reading the book His and Hers.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Do you remember that show about It was on Netflix?
- 0:17Speaker 2: It starred the actress from Creed. I can't remember her
- 0:21Speaker 2: name right now to save my life, but basically this
- 0:24Speaker 2: there's this couple that reunites, but she's this news anchor
- 0:30Speaker 2: and the ex husband is the police officer, and they're
- 0:34Speaker 2: trying to solve these murder crimes, but it's all starting
- 0:37Speaker 2: to tie back to the both of them, and you
- 0:39Speaker 2: don't really know who the murderer is.
- 0:42Speaker 3: I do remember, because you literally watch his story and
- 0:47Speaker 3: then you watch her story of the same story, and
- 0:49Speaker 3: then it's like them discovering because this girl.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Is murdered and he's the cop investigating if he's also
- 0:55Speaker 1: sleeping with her? Yeah victim? Right, Okay, go ahead, Yeah
- 0:58Speaker 1: you saw it.
- 0:59Speaker 2: I watched that show when it came out, however, many
- 1:02Speaker 2: months ago on Netflix. And now it is a book
- 1:05Speaker 2: that we are reading in our book club, and it
- 1:07Speaker 2: is incredibly difficult to read this book because I remember
- 1:10Speaker 2: bits and pieces of the show, and so I'm trying
- 1:13Speaker 2: to place them into the book, and I'm almost getting
- 1:15Speaker 2: ahead of myself, and then I'm confusing myself, and so
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm trying to speed read through this book because it's
- 1:21Speaker 2: low key miserable.
- 1:22Speaker 1: The point of you reading the book is to have
- 1:25Speaker 1: a discussion with your friends. How many people in your
- 1:27Speaker 1: book club.
- 1:27Speaker 2: There's like ten of us, but about six of them
- 1:31Speaker 2: don't read the books. They're just there for the babes.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Okay, so when you read the books, you all get
- 1:35Speaker 1: together and you're going to talk about the story.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yeah, we have like espresso teenis or we have brunch
- 1:39Speaker 2: and we just talk. We all come up with questions
- 1:42Speaker 2: that like spark during when we're reading it, and we'll
- 1:45Speaker 2: take notes down and then we'll all discuss lovely.
- 1:47Speaker 1: So here's my solution. It takes me back to high school.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I had to write a book report once on the
- 1:53Speaker 1: book The Color Purple, and I didn't read the book.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I went to the movie and then my book report
- 1:59Speaker 1: was pretty good until I started talking about Oprah. But
- 2:03Speaker 1: since you saw the TV show. Why don't you just
- 2:06Speaker 1: recap the TV show in the.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Book club meeting and the TV show again, That's what
- 2:09Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 2:10Speaker 1: But it's like friend, she'd be like, hey, man, when
- 2:12Speaker 1: it's cheating when you're in school, when you're just with friends.
- 2:18Speaker 2: So I'm like kind of really nerded out on my
- 2:21Speaker 2: book club. I have these two apps that I track
- 2:23Speaker 2: my reading on, and I feel like I got to
- 2:25Speaker 2: be loyal to my.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Oh okay, that's I think. Actually, here's a movie out
- 2:30Speaker 1: right now. I think it's number one on Netflix. I
- 2:32Speaker 1: Forget's about an octopus.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm watching my wife's read the book and like
- 2:36Speaker 2: and she goes.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's a movie. He kind of watch
- 2:39Speaker 1: this movie, You're gonna cry. I'm like, I'm not gonna free.
- 2:41Speaker 1: I don't want to watch a movie where I'm gonna cry.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I mean, if I cry in the middle of a movie, okay,
- 2:46Speaker 1: but I don't want to go into a movie knowing
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna cry, just like I don't want to go
- 2:50Speaker 1: into the Michael Jackson movie because I know that Joe
- 2:52Speaker 1: Jackson beats up Michael and I don't want to go
- 2:54Speaker 1: through I don't want to sit through that.
- 2:55Speaker 4: It's rough to watch.
- 2:55Speaker 1: That's what I mean. I don't want to do that. So, like,
- 2:58Speaker 1: by the way, is it a good movie?
- 3:00Speaker 2: Which one the remarkable? Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Did you read the book? So you should have done
- 3:04Speaker 1: that one.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I don't know if I would want to do that,
- 3:06Speaker 2: because I actually read The Housemaid before the Amanda Sea
- 3:09Speaker 2: Freedo and Sydney Sweeney movie came out, And when I
- 3:12Speaker 2: watched the movie, I was like, this movie is nowhere
- 3:13Speaker 2: near as good as the book.
- 3:14Speaker 1: It's very comforted you read the book. You read the
- 3:17Speaker 1: book before you see the movie. Yeah, that's how you
- 3:19Speaker 1: need to do it.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Probably probably.
- 3:22Speaker 1: So you're watching Octopus movie.
- 3:23Speaker 2: I just started it.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I'm not too far in. It's okay so far, but
- 3:27Speaker 3: I'm not too far in.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Like, do you remember that documentary on the Octopus?
- 3:30Speaker 3: I cried in that When I first started watching it,
- 3:33Speaker 3: I thought it was the documentary and then I saw
- 3:35Speaker 3: Sally Field and I was like, this is not a
- 3:36Speaker 3: document My.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Mom kept saying that because she kept walking in and
- 3:39Speaker 2: she was like, that's Sally Field. That's Sally Field. And
- 3:42Speaker 2: I asked her, was like, who's Sally Field? She was like,
- 3:44Speaker 2: that's Sally Field and then left.
- 3:45Speaker 1: She's in Missus. She's won an Academy Awards, tons of
- 3:50Speaker 1: movies I want. She plays Forrest Gump's Mom. She plays
- 3:53Speaker 1: She's a bunch of movies she was speaking about.
- 3:55Speaker 4: She's just in a touch. She's a very, very, very successful.
- 3:59Speaker 4: You would say she was an a lister back in
- 4:01Speaker 4: the day. Hey, Hillary, good.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Morning, you're on their Good Morning.
- 4:06Speaker 5: I just wanted to share because Peyton's in a book
- 4:09Speaker 5: club and me and my work friends are in a
- 4:12Speaker 5: book club also air quote. We call it book club
- 4:16Speaker 5: in front of our other coworkers, but it's actually us
- 4:19Speaker 5: catching up on our favorite trash TV shows and then
- 4:22Speaker 5: walking back together and talking about it.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Your book club.
- 4:27Speaker 5: I founded more up your Alley.
- 4:29Speaker 2: That is so funny. I love that.
- 4:32Speaker 1: I would love that.
- 4:33Speaker 2: I feel like my friends would do our book club
- 4:35Speaker 2: and then watch reality TV right after, Like Love Island
- 4:38Speaker 2: season eight is coming out next month, and we're all
- 4:40Speaker 2: locked into that too. Yeah.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But so what do you do when your coworkers ask
- 4:43Speaker 3: you what book you're reading in your book club?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Good question.
- 4:48Speaker 5: We will tell them that it's something small that they're
- 4:51Speaker 5: probably not interested in. It's like for young adults, and
- 4:54Speaker 5: they're like, oh, okay, never mind.
- 4:58Speaker 4: I really you guys, plan.
- 4:59Speaker 2: A book title for the month, just in case cover
- 5:03Speaker 2: your basis.
- 5:04Speaker 1: What's the movie coming out? Everyone? The movie with Tom
- 5:07Speaker 1: holland Andy. Just tell people you're reading that now and
- 5:12Speaker 1: then just watch the movie because it's like a smart book.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Well, I mean, it's one of the first ever fantasy
- 5:18Speaker 4: books ever.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It's not a true story.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Well it was really like seven hundred years b seen.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It's like a it's like a fantasy story laptop. Thanks Hillary,
- 5:32Speaker 4: Thank you for you, Kyle.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I love that idea. Yeah, book, we started off talking
- 5:37Speaker 1: about War of the Roses and will end up talking
- 5:40Speaker 1: about War of the Roses. Was a text here it
- 5:41Speaker 1: says the lady that just called in about War of
- 5:44Speaker 1: the Roses, who attacked Kyle, needs therapy to remedy her
- 5:47Speaker 1: childhood parental conflict issues.
- 5:49Speaker 4: Right, I didn't feel attacked you.
- 5:52Speaker 1: That's their perception.
- 5:53Speaker 3: We got different opinion.
