- 0:01Happy Saturday morning, everybody.
- 0:04Today's Kenny conversation is about friends, good friends and
- 0:10friends that suck the lifeout of you.
- 0:13What kind of friends do you like?
- 0:14Do you like good friends or do you like the ones that are high
- 0:18maintenance? They want to be your friend, but
- 0:20every time they call you, they just suck in the lifeout of you.
- 0:24They got issues, they got problems.
- 0:27I got a good friend. His name's Joe Rudy.
- 0:30Joe owns a AL's Auto Service up there in Kirkwood.
- 0:34Joe and I call each other and we're like 2 little old ladies.
- 0:37We'll be on the phone for 30 minutes or longer and it's
- 0:40always about it's always a subject matter, you know, about
- 0:45somebody that is maybe doing him wrong and how should he deal
- 0:50with it and or it could be about racing, it could be about our
- 0:54race cars. But we, we, we always find
- 0:58ourselves, even if I go up there to get my cars inspected or get
- 1:01my my stuff serviced, I find myself, it's very hard for me
- 1:05to, to leave AL's auto service because we just got so much in
- 1:09common. We're just talking all the time.
- 1:12So Joe Rudy is a good friend. He's a lot of fun and he's the
- 1:16type of person I want to hang out with.
- 1:20So I don't know how long ago it was, but I ended up I was in
- 1:29Daytona and some guy walked up to me and he goes let me have
- 1:34your phone number. I'm like, hold on, what?
- 1:38I've hardly known this guy and he's like, let me have your
- 1:41phone number. And I'm like, I'll give you my
- 1:44phone number. But I swear to God if if you
- 1:48suck the life out of me, I'm blocking you, I'm getting rid of
- 1:52you. So then I got this, I got these,
- 1:58I got these six or eight older men all over America and damn
- 2:03it, they just have a tough time in life and they just want to
- 2:08suck the life out of me. And they call me and, and some
- 2:13of them, you know, if I feel like sometimes it's my job to
- 2:18help them. I'm like these, they're texting
- 2:22me, they're calling me and they're just, they're just
- 2:25sucking the life out of me. Nothing's good.
- 2:29So recently I had this guy that I want to make sure I don't give
- 2:37it up who they are. I had this guy, he he started
- 2:43texting me these long messages. Like I don't like who you're
- 2:51having a conversation with on Kenny conversation.
- 2:54You don't need to have a conversation with him and here's
- 2:57why. And he starts just bad mouthing
- 2:59a guy that I interviewed on Kenny conversation and it pissed
- 3:05me off. Now let me go back and tell you
- 3:09a little bit more about this person that just wanted my phone
- 3:12number. Just wanted wanted my phone
- 3:14number. So every time I would do a Kenny
- 3:20conversation, it you could go 543 and there it was.
- 3:27If I had a conversation with Kelly Earnhardt.
- 3:29Oh, he knew Kelly Earnhardt. He knew Kelly Earnhardt.
- 3:34If if I went to Indianapolis and I hung out with AJ Foyd, oh, he
- 3:39knew AJ Foyd. If I had a conversation with
- 3:43Mark Martin, oh, me and Mark Martin, I'm like, OK, you
- 3:46something. It's like, OK, now this guy's
- 3:49sitting this pattern with me. I could interview Tony Stewart,
- 3:55Dale Junior, and he knows them all more than me.
- 3:57And he don't. OK, now, now I'm dealing with a
- 3:59crazy man. And you meet these people and
- 4:04and you know, you just, you take this chance and and and that's
- 4:09not the one that walked up to me just wanting my phone number.
- 4:13So here's the bottom line. I've got another friend.
- 4:19Now, this is an innuendo. I'm answering everybody's
- 4:23question right now about a certain person.
- 4:32When you have friends, you want it to be beneficial.
- 4:35You want it to be mutual. You want it to go both ways.
- 4:41When people suck the life out of you and they become very
- 4:45aggressive with you and they start.
- 4:49In other words, they bring nothing.
- 4:51They bring nothing. And it becomes my job to help
- 4:54them. And then all of a sudden, they
- 4:56start telling you what to do and they start fucking you.
- 4:59It's like, hold on, Bob. It's not about you right now,
- 5:04OK? It's not all about you.
- 5:07So coffee with Kenny this morning is this.
- 5:13I, I lead. I lead a healthy life.
- 5:18It is very hard for me to stop on the side of the road and pick
- 5:21up every dog. I'd love to pick up every dog
- 5:25I'd like to. I love dogs.
- 5:26There's Louie. Louie.
- 5:28Everybody wants to see you, buddy.
- 5:30There he is right there. Louie's got the best life.
- 5:33He's he's a boy. Look here.
- 5:35I leave this door open all morning long.
- 5:37He's in and out, in and out. Louie loves me.
- 5:43He makes me happy. So if you're going to be my
- 5:47friend and I'm going to be your friend, it's got to be a two way
- 5:49street. I have about eight of these old
- 5:52men and I have about eight of these men that want my phone
- 5:56number and they suck the life right out of me and I and I
- 6:01don't like that anymore. OK, so read between the lines
- 6:07all you want, but I every once in a while I do a little house
- 6:10cleaning party right here in my head.
- 6:13So I'm just going to say, you know, sometimes you got to clean
- 6:17your head out too. You know, you clean your closet
- 6:19out. I don't wear these.
- 6:20I haven't wore these, this T-shirt in 20 years.
- 6:23Get rid of it. I know all you dirt racers got
- 6:25them T-shirts. I go through my closet 2-3 times
- 6:29a year and I go through my head two or three times a year and I
- 6:33just pull the trigger. I'm good at that shit.
- 6:36I just pull the trigger. I just change it.
- 6:38Your life will not change until you change your life.
- 6:45I get so tired of dealing with people that are damned just
- 6:48constant maintenance. Oh, they're oh, me.
- 6:52Oh, oh, I'm like, what about me? I'm exhausted trying to fix you
- 6:56up. You're exhausting.
- 6:59So you know what I do when they text me something bullshit deal.
- 7:04And they need help. They don't need help.
- 7:07They just they, they chew my ass out.
- 7:09That's the point I'm getting to. They chew my ass out.
- 7:12They asked for my phone number. They want to hang out with me.
- 7:15Then they become too much and then they start.
- 7:19I had one me right? I had one MF me and I'm like,
- 7:26they're weirdos. Be careful giving your phone
- 7:29number to people. They're weirdos that they they
- 7:31suck the life right out of you. So you know what I did?
- 7:34I went to my phone, went up here to edit.
- 7:36I went down and I blocked their number.
- 7:40Go to edit, then scroll all the way down, block their number,
- 7:44then go back to their name and delete their their phone number
- 7:51and then go everywhere on social media.
- 7:52You can go to Facebook X Instagram, Snapchat and get rid
- 7:58of their ass. If they are not bringing you any
- 8:01joy and they're sucking the life out of them out of you, get rid
- 8:06of them. And I'm and I'm truly going to
- 8:08leave you with this. Steve Jobs said this.
- 8:12Now I know he was a crazy man. He created Apple and and this is
- 8:16how I live my life. He said, every morning you get
- 8:19up, you're most certainly going to go by a mirror.
- 8:22You're going to brush your teeth.
- 8:23Certainly there's going to be a mirror.
- 8:25Or you just ask yourself, am I doing what I want to today?
- 8:29And if that answer is no, too many times change your life
- 8:35because life is short in ending. If you don't add any value to my
- 8:40life and you just have been sucking life out of me with your
- 8:45negativity bullshit, I'm done with you.
- 8:51I love you all. Good morning.
