- 0:32Speaker 2: And i'm your host the most professional wrestler Bryan Myers, and.
- 0:36Speaker 3: I am also here produce of the show, Smart Mark Sterling.
- 0:40Speaker 3: And we're here with our good friends Ringside Collectibles guys
- 0:43Speaker 3: from episode number one.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Which made me very proud when I listened to her back. Yes,
- 0:48Speaker 2: super cools, super cool and very grateful.
- 0:51Speaker 3: It's not just any episode of the podcast, folks, this
- 0:54Speaker 3: is a retrospective and the look back at the pilot
- 0:59Speaker 3: episode of the podcast, episode number one.
- 1:02Speaker 2: The debut edition. Do we have the date on that Mark.
- 1:07Speaker 3: Stand by?
- 1:08Speaker 2: August something very easy to find? Yes?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Yeah, keep talking twenty so you recorded it the Sunday.
- 1:21Speaker 2: YEP right of Summer Slam.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yes, and then you got it to me and then
- 1:27Speaker 3: it came out later that week, August twenty third, twenty eighteen.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Got it. Wow.
- 1:33Speaker 1: The podcast was something that I had been pitching to
- 1:36Speaker 1: Brian for a while because we were just talking about
- 1:41Speaker 1: figures every day, sending you know, each other of the
- 1:44Speaker 1: news our weekly purchases. So I thought there's got to
- 1:47Speaker 1: be some other crazy sobs out there like us, And man,
- 1:52Speaker 1: was I right.
- 1:54Speaker 2: In that particular weekend, we went to wrestling for Sales
- 1:58Speaker 2: pop It was a New York obviously summer Slimon's the Barclays,
- 2:03Speaker 2: so Broski was in town. I live here. We went
- 2:06Speaker 2: to wrestling for Sales pop up shop in the city,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and then we stopped by Bruce Pritchard's live show. Yes,
- 2:12Speaker 2: said hi to him and Conrad. And then I think
- 2:15Speaker 2: maybe Broski said, let's just because now we've had plans
- 2:18Speaker 2: before this, because Cabana sent us the equipment. Yes, yes,
- 2:23Speaker 2: So maybe we just knew after watching SummerSlam we were
- 2:27Speaker 2: going to record it. And I hosted Summer Simon and
- 2:29Speaker 2: I and you know what, I just remembered for sure,
- 2:31Speaker 2: Heath was here and watched with us, and I think
- 2:32Speaker 2: he ubered back to this hotel. I have no memory
- 2:36Speaker 2: of that he did, because he's everyone knows. I might
- 2:39Speaker 2: signed figure collection in my gym and he signed a
- 2:42Speaker 2: figure for me then, And it might be when I
- 2:45Speaker 2: finally got you to write a nice one to me too.
- 2:47Speaker 2: After four attempts.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Best wishes, Like the podcast, I think with anything in life,
- 2:53Speaker 1: you just got to start it and do it right.
- 2:56Speaker 2: If we had waited for everything to be.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Perfect, for the stars to align, I don't think we
- 3:01Speaker 1: ever would have started it. And luckily Mark he he
- 3:05Speaker 1: saw some tweets that we're gonna do this and pretty
- 3:08Speaker 1: much paid us to kidding.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I completely forgot. I kept saying that I did it
- 3:15Speaker 3: for free. I didn't do it for free. The I
- 3:18Speaker 3: what I asked was I would do it if you
- 3:21Speaker 3: let me advertise for my podcast at all.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Remember those guys you completely turned on He'll Turn. It's
- 3:29Speaker 2: like I cashed to the Beach ninety six and then
- 3:31Speaker 2: Mark's He'll turn. I'm Off the hop Rope.
- 3:35Speaker 3: So, by the way, after we're done shooting the ship here,
- 3:39Speaker 3: you're gonna hear episode number one. I'm putting it up
- 3:42Speaker 3: here right after this podcast, we're gonna go right into
- 3:44Speaker 3: this little talk, and then you can hear episode one,
- 3:48Speaker 3: including my advertisement for Off the Hop Rope. At the end,
- 3:51Speaker 3: I was so surprised, what's my voice doing your.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I didn't even introduce myself either. I didn't even say, hey,
- 3:57Speaker 3: it's smart. Mark Stter, like, I just said you should
- 3:59Speaker 3: listen off that broke, but I forgot about that.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so the pilot, you'll listen. It's like forty minutes long,
- 4:06Speaker 1: and it's basically just an introduction.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:09Speaker 3: It's a perfect pilot because there's no segments, there's no nothing.
- 4:13Speaker 3: You guys just kind of say, here, we're going to
- 4:14Speaker 3: do this thing.
- 4:15Speaker 2: You guys forced me to listen to this, and I
- 4:18Speaker 2: was like dreading it, and I felt like it was
- 4:20Speaker 2: gonna be just like a cringey thing for me.
- 4:23Speaker 1: But it wasn't at all. Actually I was shocked. Yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 1: I don't think it's bad at all. It's a perfect introduction.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Even the way like you figure out who Bareman and
- 4:29Speaker 1: Brian is right at the very beginning. What with the
- 4:33Speaker 1: way you you it showed the show. I'm like, no,
- 4:35Speaker 1: that's not how you do it.
- 4:36Speaker 2: And then that was you get your game show host voice.
- 4:39Speaker 2: But people want to be entertained. I think I think
- 4:41Speaker 2: we're entertaining enough.
- 4:42Speaker 3: But said Brosky has come down, yeah and Brian has
- 4:47Speaker 3: gone up, so you kind of you both meet in
- 4:49Speaker 3: the middle.
- 4:49Speaker 2: You can't be like this the whole time because I
- 4:52Speaker 2: was going to say the the real thing, I was like,
- 4:55Speaker 2: we're genuine from the jump, you hear. It's just kind
- 4:57Speaker 2: of like being who we are Matt and Brian, Yeah
- 5:00Speaker 2: about toys, no ego, just kind of like letting our
- 5:04Speaker 2: nerd hang out. And that was like even evident in
- 5:07Speaker 2: this episode, which I was like proud of almost like
- 5:09Speaker 2: because I think that's what's made this work throughout the years.
- 5:12Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, there's nothing fake about it. You know,
- 5:14Speaker 2: it's totally authentic.
- 5:17Speaker 1: And I don't think much has changed, uh in our
- 5:20Speaker 1: collecting habits.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You know.
- 5:22Speaker 1: The only thing that really stood out to me was,
- 5:24Speaker 1: well besides us saying we weren't going to have different
- 5:26Speaker 1: social media and then it wasn't going to be long episodes,
- 5:29Speaker 1: that we do have social media.
- 5:30Speaker 2: We have long episodes.
- 5:31Speaker 1: We have a Patriot group, we have a YouTube show,
- 5:33Speaker 1: we have you know, we had a live wrestling promotion,
- 5:37Speaker 1: we have a toy line, like.
- 5:38Speaker 2: So much, so hard.
- 5:40Speaker 3: When Brian said it's not going to be like a
- 5:42Speaker 3: three hour episode, oh no, two days after I uploaded
- 5:45Speaker 3: a three hour.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Episode, I mean, we're about the record another episode and
- 5:50Speaker 2: it's Mattel revealed week and I'm like, oh my god, Dfredo,
- 5:52Speaker 2: it's going to have me sitting in this chair for hours.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Yeah, bringside, like you said sponsors from day one.
- 6:00Speaker 3: Pilot episode proof of There was no even proof of concept.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They said, yes, well we appreciate that. Didn't John and
- 6:06Speaker 1: Heath come over and watch Summers. I have no memory
- 6:09Speaker 1: on John would have went to Summerson. John came over
- 6:12Speaker 1: Saturday after we went to the Wrestling for Sale the
- 6:17Speaker 1: pop up shop. I have no memory of any of this.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I feel like, well, we like had a talk with like,
- 6:23Speaker 2: you can't just like make him a sponsor, like he
- 6:26Speaker 2: agreed to it.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Discussion Here Here is a part of my memory from
- 6:32Speaker 3: that weekend. I knew that this was happening. I knew
- 6:36Speaker 3: that it was going to happen. You, Brian had kind
- 6:38Speaker 3: of clued me in. You made those tweets. I said
- 6:40Speaker 3: I would help. Brian said, yeah, it's probably gonna happen soon.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I had no idea when that weekend. I was doing
- 6:46Speaker 3: extra work for the ww so I I was working Friday, Saturday,
- 6:52Speaker 3: Sunday and Monday.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:54Speaker 3: Probably those summer SIME weekends were great, good, good little
- 6:59Speaker 3: chunks of cash. But that I would have been at
- 7:01Speaker 3: SummerSlam that night being an extra. I think I was
- 7:05Speaker 3: really upset because I didn't get picked to get super.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Kicked by somebody.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So anyway, so then when I was told, hey, we
- 7:14Speaker 3: recorded the episode the next day at RAW, I was like,
- 7:18Speaker 3: you did, Oh my god? And then I started thinking
- 7:21Speaker 3: about it.
- 7:22Speaker 2: But I was.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Surprised when you guys did it?
- 7:25Speaker 2: Why because I just didn't.
- 7:27Speaker 3: I hadn't heard like, hey, we're going to record at
- 7:30Speaker 3: Sunday night. I think it was more of a impromptu
- 7:33Speaker 3: kind of hey, work together, let's do it type of thing,
- 7:36Speaker 3: or at least I wasn't privy to that information.
- 7:39Speaker 2: But you know, we did it. Four hundred episodes later,
- 7:41Speaker 2: we're still here.
- 7:43Speaker 1: We appreciate you major marks for your support over the years,
- 7:46Speaker 1: and we got we got four hundred more to go.
- 7:49Speaker 2: We we ain't finished, like my t shirt says on
- 7:52Speaker 2: WW shop And then some.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Well what also one thing that I wanted to mention,
- 7:56Speaker 3: I was surprised that the audio quality was great.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well, that's thanks to the podfither called Cabana, who insisted
- 8:03Speaker 2: we used his equipment to start the thing up.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So I think you'll be surprised and not really hear
- 8:08Speaker 3: much of a difference from this opening recording for it
- 8:11Speaker 3: episodes later to the very.
- 8:13Speaker 2: It's the same equipment. First, it's the same device. I
- 8:18Speaker 2: will say that I used to be so intimidated by
- 8:20Speaker 2: that thing, like what is this contraption? Kind of like
- 8:22Speaker 2: when you get a kid's car seat for the first time,
- 8:24Speaker 2: You're like, com I ever gonna figure this out? Yeah?
- 8:26Speaker 2: Like what am I supposed to do with this? The
- 8:29Speaker 2: same thing with this little box. I'm looking at it
- 8:31Speaker 2: right here like I was like, what, I'm not going
- 8:33Speaker 2: to be able to do this volume knob. Yeah you crazy.
- 8:37Speaker 2: There's like bars and things going up and down.
- 8:40Speaker 3: But now you're a pro.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't say a pro, but I can handle my
- 8:43Speaker 2: way around it. Yeah.
- 8:44Speaker 1: A lot of things have changed, but a lot has
- 8:46Speaker 1: stayed the same. So enjoy episode one. And by the way,
- 8:50Speaker 1: we do have tons of social media. You can give
- 8:52Speaker 1: us a follow after you watch.
- 8:55Speaker 4: This is the rate at our Superstar Edge and you're
- 8:58Speaker 4: listening to the Major Wrestling Figure podcast. You see what
- 9:02Speaker 4: they did there. They put in Major because they used
- 9:04Speaker 4: to be the Major Brothers.
- 9:05Speaker 2: You get it.
- 9:06Speaker 4: You get it, and Zach, You're never coming on the
- 9:08Speaker 4: NC pot of awesome as ever, Kurt, you got cart
- 9:11Speaker 4: blanch kid?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Hello, and welcome to the debut slash pilot episode
- 9:24Speaker 2: of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast. I'm your co host
- 9:29Speaker 2: WWE Superstar Kurt Hawkins aka Brian Myers. You need to
- 9:34Speaker 2: be a little more enthusiastic.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Welcome everyone to the debut edition of the Major Wrestling
- 9:40Speaker 1: Figure Podcast. I'm your host, Matt Cardona, also known as
- 9:44Speaker 1: Zach Ryder WW Superstar.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Here's my co host. Yeah, but this supposed to be casual,
- 9:49Speaker 2: and you're doing your fake, fake story and voice said
- 9:53Speaker 2: and early. You gotta, you know, excite the audience.
- 9:58Speaker 1: They're driving their maybe they're at home, maybe they're at work,
- 10:02Speaker 1: maybe they're working out.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Like we're talking about toys, like how how excited can
- 10:06Speaker 2: you get? Action figures? Action figures toys and all the above.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I feel like this has been a long time coming
- 10:13Speaker 2: and people kind of need an explanation of I think,
- 10:16Speaker 2: why it took so long, why we're doing it in
- 10:18Speaker 2: the first place. You know, maybe people aren't familiar with
- 10:21Speaker 2: why we think we're so qualified to sit here and
- 10:23Speaker 2: talk about.
- 10:24Speaker 1: And right off the bat, this isn't a podcast about
- 10:28Speaker 1: wrestling news. Or backstage wrestling stuff. This is strictly about
- 10:32Speaker 1: figures and wrestling figures and our our love for figures
- 10:35Speaker 1: and maybe other collectibles and maybe some T shirts stuff
- 10:39Speaker 1: like that thrown in there. We'll dabble, but if you're
- 10:42Speaker 1: here to get the inside scoop, turn this off right now, you.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Know, Yeah, that's not that's not what this platform is for. So, yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 2: this is something we've been talking about for maybe maybe
- 10:53Speaker 2: almost almost a year. Close.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, because we're texting every day about wrestling figures,
- 11:00Speaker 1: about different collectibles, So why not put it out there
- 11:04Speaker 1: for everyone else to hear and listen and then join
- 11:06Speaker 1: the conversation. We can, you know, now with social media,
- 11:08Speaker 1: they can tweet us, Instagram all that stuff, and we
- 11:11Speaker 1: can include everybody.
- 11:13Speaker 2: And there was there were some hiccups and bumps in
- 11:15Speaker 2: the road getting us to this point, but what really
- 11:17Speaker 2: helps was the latest shakeup and now we actually see
- 11:20Speaker 2: each other every week.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Right, because we didn't know how to do this if
- 11:23Speaker 1: we're gonna do it via skype or I mean, right now,
- 11:26Speaker 1: we don't even know what we're doing.
- 11:26Speaker 2: We're sitting here in this is your toilet.
- 11:29Speaker 1: We're in your man cave, right now filming this pilot,
- 11:32Speaker 1: but now we're on Raw, the same brand together, so
- 11:34Speaker 1: we can do it every week.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I actually call it my playroom. This is your playroom. Yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 2: like my daughter has a playroom upstairs. Yeah, and I
- 11:41Speaker 2: call this daddy's playroom because she really can't be roaming
- 11:44Speaker 2: around in here for you, so she knows not to
- 11:47Speaker 2: be touching my okay collectibles. Yeah. But yeah, so here
- 11:51Speaker 2: we are wrestling figure podcasts. I think we should give
- 11:55Speaker 2: everyone a little backstory about how we met and how
- 11:58Speaker 2: kind of like figures became the glue of our or
- 12:03Speaker 2: maybe let's call it the foundation of our relationship. Sure,
- 12:06Speaker 2: we weren't too fond of each other until we figured
- 12:09Speaker 2: out that we both collected.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Right because we both went to the same wrestling school
- 12:13Speaker 1: two thousand and three we met. You started a little
- 12:15Speaker 1: before me, but you went off to college, and then
- 12:18Speaker 1: when you.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Came back Edwine was kind of comparing us to each other. Yeah,
- 12:20Speaker 2: because we're the same age, very similar look, and you know,
- 12:24Speaker 2: obviously like it's human nature. You're kind of like you
- 12:27Speaker 2: don't want to be like I want to be best
- 12:29Speaker 2: friends with this guy.
- 12:29Speaker 1: You're kind of like this guy's too much, right, I mean,
- 12:31Speaker 1: I didn't get into the wrestling business to be a
- 12:33Speaker 1: tag team wrestler.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I was like, one day I'm gonna be the tag
- 12:35Speaker 2: team champions.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Honestly, don't think I ever thought about it, right, So
- 12:38Speaker 1: I when I see you, I don't think, oh, this
- 12:40Speaker 1: is the guy this is gonna be my tag team partner.
- 12:43Speaker 2: No, I think, now, this is the guy who I'm
- 12:45Speaker 2: competing with for a spot. We're totally leery of each other.
- 12:48Speaker 2: But I think what the real thing was though, Like
- 12:51Speaker 2: at that time, so this is two thousand and three,
- 12:54Speaker 2: were we had just been seniors in high school and
- 12:56Speaker 2: entering our freshman year of college, so like to just
- 12:59Speaker 2: be out and about and open about collecting action figures,
- 13:03Speaker 2: And it really wasn't like a thing he goes quick
- 13:07Speaker 2: to do.
- 13:08Speaker 1: In my high school, there was nobody else collecting, yeah,
- 13:11Speaker 1: And I think I was kind of really like embarrassed
- 13:13Speaker 1: to be collecting. So I would collect through my young
- 13:15Speaker 1: my youngest brother. I would buy things for him, and
- 13:18Speaker 1: I'd kind of play with them, you know, and collect them,
- 13:21Speaker 1: but like they.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Weren't kally mine anymore.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And then I met you and I saw your bedroom
- 13:25Speaker 1: and you had all these figures like proudly on display
- 13:27Speaker 1: and everyone in make condition. I was like, oh my god,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I need to get back in this. So I kind
- 13:32Speaker 1: of blame you a little bit for my addiction.
- 13:34Speaker 2: I don't remember being so like out and about about
- 13:38Speaker 2: it though, because like obviously, like I'm trying to impress
- 13:40Speaker 2: girls and stuff.
- 13:42Speaker 1: And then I was like being in high school and
- 13:44Speaker 1: he got like the bashing brawler on your bed and
- 13:46Speaker 1: you're making out with this chicken hohoke hold and goes
- 13:48Speaker 1: like you're.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Hurting my right arm. Brother. I love those. Actually, the
- 13:52Speaker 2: brat ones really underrated. I just bought the whole set
- 13:55Speaker 2: on email again. I have them all.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I got Steiner, I got Nash goal Berg, Macho Man Brett.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Who else was there? DDP peasical one. Yeah, there's multiple
- 14:05Speaker 2: Hogans and savages and stings different. Yeah, I'm just doing that.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I'm not doing just Hollywood. But yeah, So I don't
- 14:11Speaker 2: remember being that like like my clothes as friends obviously
- 14:14Speaker 2: knew because they would come over and see my room,
- 14:15Speaker 2: which was like ridiculous growing up with everything wrestling you
- 14:20Speaker 2: could think of. But so I don't know how like
- 14:23Speaker 2: I don't really remember how the ice was broken between
- 14:26Speaker 2: us where we both realized like whoa you collected?
- 14:28Speaker 1: And yeah, I kind of forget that too, but I
- 14:31Speaker 1: do remember. I mean, we've told this story publicly before
- 14:33Speaker 1: the WrestleMania twenty uh Jack story. I want to hear
- 14:38Speaker 1: your version of it, because I always tell it, but
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'd like to hear, like your.
- 14:40Speaker 2: Version exactly what happened. Exactly what happened. So I had
- 14:44Speaker 2: a h It's funny growing up I had I had
- 14:48Speaker 2: two friends who were also into wrestling, and they were
- 14:50Speaker 2: in different grades and stuff. So it was like I
- 14:51Speaker 2: was like the wrestling guy in my grade, and then
- 14:53Speaker 2: there was a guy that you know, a great old
- 14:55Speaker 2: on me. He was the wrestling guy that we befriended,
- 14:57Speaker 2: and then another guy the next grade, and we all
- 14:58Speaker 2: will go to shows together and stuff and hit a
- 15:01Speaker 2: lot of like timeless New York wrestling events. I had nobody.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I was going to these shows by myself, really, like
- 15:07Speaker 1: because I wanted the pay per view chairs, so I would,
- 15:10Speaker 1: you know, wait all day on like ticketmaster dot Com
- 15:13Speaker 1: to get these tickets like front row, and then my
- 15:15Speaker 1: two brothers would like sit like in the nosebleads. Because
- 15:17Speaker 1: I still have I have some of them still but yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 1: like that's what I wanted, was that chair.
- 15:21Speaker 2: So I was a big uh.
- 15:24Speaker 1: I was is a big collector of all that stuff,
- 15:25Speaker 1: all that memorabilia, all the stupid like like the foam fingers,
- 15:29Speaker 1: all that stuff, the T shirts, the sunglasses, necklaces, all
- 15:33Speaker 1: that stuff that they would make.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Okay, So anyway back to my story, one of those
- 15:36Speaker 2: particular guys I was friends with was deep into collecting
- 15:40Speaker 2: wrestling figures like as bad as diehard as you can get,
- 15:43Speaker 2: which is weird because.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We later found out I was online friends with him
- 15:46Speaker 1: in the Wrestling Bigs message boards stranger. So we would
- 15:51Speaker 1: like direct message back in the day whatever you would
- 15:53Speaker 1: call it, like what is the car place? Toys of
- 15:55Speaker 1: us have the.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Sporting like which is just one complete loser stuff. Yeah,
- 15:59Speaker 2: when you should be out, like you know, chasing chicks
- 16:03Speaker 2: and doing stuff the high school kids do. But anyway,
- 16:06Speaker 2: he this is before tex so we're really dating ourselves
- 16:09Speaker 2: here for the young listeners. And I want to say
- 16:11Speaker 2: he called. We definitely had texts. No, I don't remember
- 16:14Speaker 2: texting until we were like in Deep South.
- 16:16Speaker 1: We definitely had Like, we definitely had because I remember
- 16:19Speaker 1: we were in we were both went that summer class,
- 16:22Speaker 1: and that's why I were in the same class.
- 16:24Speaker 2: No same time though, Okay, okay, here we go. I
- 16:29Speaker 2: want to say. He called me in the morning or
- 16:31Speaker 2: something whatever it was. So we were both very not
- 16:34Speaker 2: good at college. So we were in a summer class
- 16:37Speaker 2: at a community college where he was taking a different
- 16:39Speaker 2: class and I was taking another one. But it was
- 16:41Speaker 2: at the exact same time I was taking sex And
- 16:43Speaker 2: I got an a why did you have to go
- 16:45Speaker 2: to summer school for sex?
- 16:46Speaker 1: It was like an elective to like finish quicker got it?
- 16:50Speaker 2: Okay, I was taking math one hundred because I failed.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So anyway, human sexuality maybe that was what it was.
- 16:58Speaker 2: What how why is that a class? I don't know.
- 17:00Speaker 2: I also took circus arts and guy, I do remember that.
- 17:02Speaker 2: I remember you're talking about thinking what who is this kid?
- 17:05Speaker 1: Uh?
- 17:06Speaker 2: Anyway, so he called me, tells me, hey, that brand
- 17:08Speaker 2: new WrestleMania twenty set that's exclusive to toys r US.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I just found it this morning a case. So figure
- 17:15Speaker 2: collectors out there no modern toys for the most part.
- 17:18Speaker 2: A case means, especially the Mattel kind of runs this
- 17:21Speaker 2: way and Jack's always do twelve. It's twelve it's of
- 17:24Speaker 2: a set six, there's one of each there's two of
- 17:26Speaker 2: each guy too. Yeah, so unless it's like short packages,
- 17:29Speaker 2: unless there's like you know, yeah, things like that. So
- 17:31Speaker 2: the typical assortment, you got two of each guy, he goes. Obviously,
- 17:35Speaker 2: I scooped up a set for myself, but I took
- 17:38Speaker 2: the entire other six, the whole other set hit him
- 17:41Speaker 2: in the rafters for you, so you can get them.
- 17:43Speaker 2: After class, I went, wow, man, thank you. So, uh,
- 17:48Speaker 2: you know, I just met mister Cardona here and Brosky
- 17:51Speaker 2: to my left ear, and I was feeling we at
- 17:54Speaker 2: this point, they had like put us together at our
- 17:56Speaker 2: wrestling school where we knew we were going to be a
- 17:58Speaker 2: team and we were becoming friends and stuff, and we
- 18:00Speaker 2: had bonded over wrestling figures. We had both gone to
- 18:02Speaker 2: wrestle me at twenty, you know, so it was a
- 18:04Speaker 2: sentimental event to us. So I said, you know what,
- 18:07Speaker 2: so this was like two thousand and four, right, this
- 18:09Speaker 2: is for sure, summer two thousand and four. Okay, the
- 18:12Speaker 2: event was March two thousand and four.
- 18:13Speaker 1: So we were kind of okay, yeah, okay, but not
- 18:17Speaker 1: quite like not quite well.
- 18:19Speaker 2: We finally I felt like we had finally hit a
- 18:21Speaker 2: point in a relationship. I'm like, you know, this guy
- 18:24Speaker 2: is going to be my friend and we're going to
- 18:26Speaker 2: probably be a tag team, and you know, let's see
- 18:28Speaker 2: what the future holds here. So it said, at the
- 18:30Speaker 2: kindness of my heart, I've hit you up, and I said, hey,
- 18:34Speaker 2: my buddy, who's my buddy? Now your buddy? You don't
- 18:36Speaker 2: even know technically, even though I found out later you did,
- 18:40Speaker 2: but not really. He hid these figures for me. There's six.
- 18:44Speaker 2: Why don't we go together after class and split them
- 18:48Speaker 2: three piece and then you know, we'll venture piece together
- 18:51Speaker 2: the sets on our own, you know, down the line whatever.
- 18:53Speaker 2: But at least this is a start, you know, you
- 18:56Speaker 2: just know you're collecting. You say, sure, sounds great. But
- 18:59Speaker 2: then what I did was I he says, sure, great,
- 19:04Speaker 2: We have our ninety minute class, we meet, we drive
- 19:07Speaker 2: to the car place, toys r us in Long Island
- 19:09Speaker 2: or rest in Peace? Here are you? It was just
- 19:11Speaker 2: absolutely said, that's something we'll have to talk about down
- 19:13Speaker 2: the line on this podcast. We go in race down
- 19:17Speaker 2: that aisle. You know that that feeling when you're in
- 19:19Speaker 2: a toy store, that little rush, you know, you know,
- 19:22Speaker 2: the anticipation of heading down the aisle and whatnot. And
- 19:25Speaker 2: we get there, open up the you know, old school collectors.
- 19:30Speaker 2: You know, now this won't exist anymore, you know, open
- 19:32Speaker 2: up that rafter little shelf, that hidden shelf up top.
- 19:36Speaker 2: Nothing or at least no resume of twenty figures, no
- 19:39Speaker 2: none to be found, whatsoever? Where could they have gone devastated?
- 19:43Speaker 2: So this guy to me, he goes, oh my god,
- 19:48Speaker 2: I can't believe it's someone found their gune. I go, yeah,
- 19:50Speaker 2: oh my god, that sucks. You know, I guess we'll
- 19:53Speaker 2: have to get them another time. You know, it wasn't
- 19:55Speaker 2: meant to be. Yeah, shucks. He gives me, and we
- 19:58Speaker 2: we get in our sleeve separate cars and go by
- 20:01Speaker 2: the rest of our day, never throw anything of it.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I think I'm pretty sure I got to set two
- 20:05Speaker 2: or three weeks later. I think it was a couple
- 20:07Speaker 2: of days later, because then I didn't feel ass bad. Yeah,
- 20:10Speaker 2: like I walked in and found them all and knocked
- 20:12Speaker 2: him all out. And maybe I asked you and you said, oh, no,
- 20:15Speaker 2: I think my dad got him from me or something
- 20:17Speaker 2: like that. Oh, because I had to say that I
- 20:19Speaker 2: found him, of course, right, And then I don't even
- 20:23Speaker 2: remember for sure. Years later, years had passed years, holding
- 20:28Speaker 2: onto this for years later for no reason. He just
- 20:32Speaker 2: confesses to be I felt bad. How to get off
- 20:35Speaker 2: my chest? Bro? He confesses to me that that morning,
- 20:39Speaker 2: when I called him to tell him those figures were
- 20:41Speaker 2: there Toys Rustling, we made that plan. He said, Okay,
- 20:44Speaker 2: hung up the phone, called his father and said, hey, Dad,
- 20:48Speaker 2: go to Toys r USS right now. And by this entire
- 20:51Speaker 2: set that's hit the room.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Exactly where they were, and my dad got them all
- 20:56Speaker 1: all sick guy on my condition. Yeah, So that's how
- 21:00Speaker 1: our friendship really started.
- 21:02Speaker 2: That's like our most infamous right then story.
- 21:05Speaker 1: This episode of the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast has been
- 21:08Speaker 1: brought to you by Ringside Collectiveness, the number one online
- 21:12Speaker 1: retailer WWE Wrestling Figures.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Go to Wrestling Figures dot Com and make a purchase
- 21:17Speaker 2: and when you do, use discount code Major at checkout
- 21:21Speaker 2: to save ten percent. Now that we have this platform,
- 21:27Speaker 2: you'll see that like, we're both pretty nuts, you're super nuts,
- 21:30Speaker 2: and we'll get into.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I mean, I think we're both nuts in our own right.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm looking at your display right now and just like
- 21:36Speaker 1: the detail and the way you organize things.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Blows my mind.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I see these customs. I can't believe you actually count
- 21:43Speaker 1: customs in your collection.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Count them. It's just sometimes that and I think there's a.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Lot that counts customs, like, oh man, okay, let's talk
- 21:49Speaker 1: about it.
- 21:49Speaker 2: The way you're looking at Martin Genetti, I wasn't even
- 21:52Speaker 2: looking at that margin.
- 21:53Speaker 1: I was looking at like those ECW like custom like
- 21:55Speaker 1: paper titles you got on them, cause I don't know,
- 21:58Speaker 1: I just like the ECW figure came with those awesome
- 22:01Speaker 1: detailed titles.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah, not really, only the Mike awesome one as the detail.
- 22:05Speaker 2: The rest are like kind of.
- 22:06Speaker 1: The RBD has the TV title has it, but it's
- 22:09Speaker 1: not like nice.
- 22:12Speaker 2: But uh, you just threw me for a loop there. Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But the things we're going to talk about on this podcast, eventually,
- 22:17Speaker 1: we're gonna have a real format. What that format is,
- 22:19Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll talk about the news of the week.
- 22:22Speaker 1: And you might be thinking, if you don't collect wrestling figures,
- 22:25Speaker 1: like what's the news, Well, there's news dropping all the time.
- 22:28Speaker 2: News. Yeah, you know what. Honestly, we kind of have
- 22:30Speaker 2: inside sources now these days, so like make Bill sweat brother,
- 22:33Speaker 2: they'll make Bill sweat constantly.
- 22:35Speaker 1: You know, maybe have Bill on here a little make
- 22:37Speaker 1: Bill swim. You will have Bill the real Bill actually
- 22:40Speaker 1: figure attack. Yeah, we got guys, we got inside sources.
- 22:44Speaker 1: Will have fellow colleagues, you know, ww superstars and talk
- 22:48Speaker 1: about you know, maybe even guys that you wouldn't expect
- 22:50Speaker 1: to collect or this or that you know, and get
- 22:52Speaker 1: their stories.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And they're's a lot of fun stuff. But the options
- 22:55Speaker 2: I think are endless.
- 22:56Speaker 1: But I think like, well, like I said, we'll get
- 22:58Speaker 1: the format down, we'll talk about the news is, we'll
- 23:00Speaker 1: talk about you know, maybe the purchases we make. Now,
- 23:05Speaker 1: we we're going to all the stores, Target, Walmart, you know,
- 23:07Speaker 1: we're looking for the new stuff. But I think what
- 23:10Speaker 1: drives us the most is the old stuff on eBay
- 23:12Speaker 1: that we're just dropping all this coin on and all
- 23:15Speaker 1: the stuff we're rebuying, things from our childhood, things we
- 23:18Speaker 1: never had, things we wish we had. And and if
- 23:21Speaker 1: you follow me on social media, you know I'm kind
- 23:23Speaker 1: of borderline obsessed with getting these pre production prototype figures, which.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Is a whole nother one. Like I don't live in
- 23:28Speaker 2: that world. I know what goes on there because I
- 23:31Speaker 2: watch you do it. But like he was just making
- 23:33Speaker 2: fun of me about having kind of custom stuff. I
- 23:36Speaker 2: don't have any protots. I have probably Kurt Hawkins prototypes,
- 23:38Speaker 2: which is a different story.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Because like even like today before were recording this, we
- 23:43Speaker 1: were discussing this just toys Diesel prototypes. This is what
- 23:49Speaker 1: you happen to do today, right, So what I'm saying
- 23:52Speaker 1: like we're gonna have material for years.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, because we just you today today. And
- 23:57Speaker 2: by the way, we just watched SummerSlam. When I do
- 24:00Speaker 2: this isn't live or spoiling it.
- 24:01Speaker 1: I know.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Sorry, guys, we just watched Summer Sign and we weren't there,
- 24:04Speaker 2: but we watched it from my home because we have
- 24:06Speaker 2: to go to work tomorrow. Order some sushi, ordered some sushi,
- 24:10Speaker 2: enjoyed the event, but for some reason this morning you
- 24:14Speaker 2: decided that you had to make a purchase.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Well no, someone contacted me and said, hey, I got this, Dez.
- 24:19Speaker 1: I knew exactly what it was talking I've seen it
- 24:21Speaker 1: the pictures for years, and then he showed me the
- 24:23Speaker 1: picture all him. There was a little, you know, suspect.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I thought maybe it could be a good custom because
- 24:27Speaker 1: people make good custom wrestling buddies, but I talked to
- 24:30Speaker 1: my other friend, Zombie sailor, you know the zombie good
- 24:32Speaker 1: good to shout out for the zombie right there, and
- 24:34Speaker 1: he confirmed being at the convention where this guy had
- 24:37Speaker 1: bought it and remember seeing it with his own eyes
- 24:39Speaker 1: and confirms that it came from a Just Toys employee.
- 24:43Speaker 1: So that really made me feel more secure. And until
- 24:46Speaker 1: I have it in my own hands, I can't really
- 24:48Speaker 1: judge because pictures these days it just it just doesn't
- 24:52Speaker 1: do it justice.
- 24:53Speaker 2: What if this comes then you think it's like just
- 24:55Speaker 2: pure garbage.
- 24:56Speaker 1: I'm screwed because I sent the money friends and family, paypals.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I can't I can't even geta.
- 25:02Speaker 2: And just for the record, how much was that? How
- 25:03Speaker 2: much money did you send friends and family? Well, I
- 25:05Speaker 2: mean it was, it was. It was one thousand dollars.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Oh my godling buddy folks shipped so free shipping, which
- 25:14Speaker 1: it's a pillow Okay, But I included two insta grab shoutouts,
- 25:19Speaker 1: two instagrab story shoutouts, and a Twitter tweet shout out.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Now I didn't include a podcast shout out, so I
- 25:25Speaker 1: can't say the guy's name here. If I got it
- 25:27Speaker 1: for like seven fifty, maybe I would have shouted him out.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So the next time, you know who I'm talking about.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Next time we do a deal, I can shut you
- 25:33Speaker 1: out on the podcast.
- 25:35Speaker 2: What I'm doing. This mean that that guy has more
- 25:37Speaker 2: more to offer. No, No, he just bought this a
- 25:41Speaker 2: couple of years ago. All these shout outs for them.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Oh, yes he's I thought you meant other wrestling buddies. Yes,
- 25:46Speaker 1: he sells like figures and.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Old school stuff. Yeah, he's a toy dude.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say his name because it wasn't part
- 25:52Speaker 1: of the deal. Sorry, bro, man, it's business. It is
- 25:58Speaker 1: a toy BND.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Okay, So back to my other question, like the the
- 26:03Speaker 2: chances of you getting ripped off a pretty slim then,
- 26:05Speaker 2: because he's got his credible.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I know this guy. We've done a couple of
- 26:08Speaker 1: deals before, so I trust this guy. Like I said,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I can't say his name because it was more of
- 26:11Speaker 1: the deal. In your recent purchases, have you felt like
- 26:15Speaker 1: you were ripped up.
- 26:15Speaker 2: By something or the question the there's a couple you
- 26:18Speaker 2: do your due diligence. Oh absolutely, I'm no sucker.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Yeah, there's some some l JN prototypes that I have acquired,
- 26:29Speaker 1: like there's this, they're unpainted. There's a Sergeant Slaughter. There
- 26:33Speaker 1: is like a Andre the Giant and Miss Elizabeth in
- 26:35Speaker 1: an alternate pose.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Like, I'm not sold that these are authentic, but I
- 26:41Speaker 2: do believe they are. He hasn't confessed this to me
- 26:43Speaker 2: in real life, but.
- 26:44Speaker 1: They all they all, they all came from an l
- 26:48Speaker 1: J n EX employee, so that helps. And there is paperwork,
- 26:51Speaker 1: So yeah, I would I it's a dangerous game.
- 26:57Speaker 2: Yeah. ECW is my favorite thing ever, And if I
- 26:59Speaker 2: were to at anything pre production prototype, I would want. Dude,
- 27:04Speaker 2: imagine if that would have to begin San Francisco toy makers. Yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 2: like whoever was supposed to be in that, which, besides
- 27:10Speaker 2: roll Kill, has never really been proving. There's like that
- 27:13Speaker 2: with the turbine. Yeah, things like that would interest me.
- 27:16Speaker 2: But that's about it, because it's a whole different ball game.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, So I guess we could also talk about like
- 27:21Speaker 1: old figures we can go by, Like we could talk
- 27:23Speaker 1: about l J in one week or Hasbro or matter,
- 27:26Speaker 1: whatever the fans want us to talk about. We can
- 27:28Speaker 1: kind of do we do some Q and A things
- 27:30Speaker 1: we can Well, this isn't gonna be a three hour podcast.
- 27:35Speaker 2: Half hour. Something easy, listen a little quickie. Yeah for
- 27:38Speaker 2: you guys. You can't. We can't something to wrestle you
- 27:41Speaker 2: guys on a deep subject. I just I just scooped
- 27:46Speaker 2: up a great dude. Oh the the Remco. I don't
- 27:50Speaker 2: do remkos. I only have him in Terry Gordy. I
- 27:54Speaker 2: have one assorted shelf which really has no like so,
- 27:58Speaker 2: like you were talking about before, the way I just
- 28:00Speaker 2: I have like a pretty high case of O c D.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I would say, so the way things get displayed are
- 28:06Speaker 2: like pretty intense.
- 28:06Speaker 1: We should take a side by side still photo of
- 28:10Speaker 1: your room and how it looks right now. In my room,
- 28:12Speaker 1: my room looks like a bomb went on.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Which I literally like walk in here and like make
- 28:15Speaker 2: sure things are all like perfect and like there things.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Down, like I wait until like I get too much stuff,
- 28:22Speaker 1: and then like I'll reorganize everything this day and then
- 28:24Speaker 1: I never do it.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I bought I bought like those aerosol cans you clean
- 28:29Speaker 2: keyboards with, and I'll like walk around and like.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I'm not kidding, that's incredible. I'm just like that's nuts
- 28:38Speaker 1: because I'm just dusty in here. Not really, to be
- 28:40Speaker 1: honest with you, I keep the fan on in my room.
- 28:43Speaker 1: I don't know if that helps dust, but I keep
- 28:45Speaker 1: it on.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Twenty four seven. Really, I growing up my bedroom Ben
- 28:48Speaker 2: would get sold goddamn dusty. I don't know. It was
- 28:50Speaker 2: like those old ready or just something and like I'd
- 28:52Speaker 2: have all these like, you know, figures on displaying it.
- 28:54Speaker 2: So pisi because it's not good. That's why I like
- 28:57Speaker 2: this concealed cases. If you're gonna if you're gonna build
- 29:00Speaker 2: a you know, playroom like I have, or a man cave,
- 29:03Speaker 2: wherever you want to call it, I do suggest it.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Those Ikia detap very affordable seventy bucks, Yeah, very affordable.
- 29:10Speaker 2: You have one. I have about ten. But they're a lifesaver.
- 29:14Speaker 2: I've convinced a couple of my fellow like collectors like, hey,
- 29:17Speaker 2: loo's cheap. It looks great, it looks good. It looks
- 29:20Speaker 2: so good. It's easy for the other two. Yeah, I
- 29:24Speaker 2: wouldn't go that far. Well, have we go on time here?
- 29:28Speaker 2: Almost twenty We're fine for our to give people at
- 29:31Speaker 2: a taste of what we're talking about.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Yeah, it's gonna be all about wrestling, like a new
- 29:35Speaker 1: thing that we've kind of been talking about the past
- 29:36Speaker 1: couple of days is uh wrestling T shirts?
- 29:40Speaker 2: Old school t shirts. Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 1: So we went to that wrestling for sale pop up
- 29:43Speaker 1: store in New York City and then we saw these
- 29:46Speaker 1: old shirts and then made me go through my parents'
- 29:47Speaker 1: attic and find all my old shirts.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I know you've been collecting, by the way, we talked
- 29:52Speaker 2: about yesterday. So we went to this and I'm like,
- 29:55Speaker 2: back to what I said, I'm extremely organized in like OCD.
- 29:58Speaker 2: So like, yeah, I I left the house estay wearing
- 30:02Speaker 2: a Summer Slam ninety eight Highway to Hell shirt that
- 30:04Speaker 2: I bought at the event. My wife was like, you
- 30:06Speaker 2: just knew where that was. I'm like yeah, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 2: I had ready to go, and then I say to him, like,
- 30:11Speaker 2: where's all your shirts? Oh man, they're my parents. They'll
- 30:13Speaker 2: I'll never be able to get to them. I'll never
- 30:15Speaker 2: find them, they're so buried. And then a couple hours
- 30:17Speaker 2: already send me a pictures. I'm like really never.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll admit my mom went through the attic and
- 30:24Speaker 1: it got him out for me.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Come on, it was too it was too messy, it
- 30:27Speaker 2: was too many boxes.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I told her what I was looking for and she
- 30:29Speaker 1: knew where the box was, so she moves cause it's
- 30:31Speaker 1: like Christmas ornaments in there and.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Uh, Halloween decorations and stuff like that. But she was
- 30:36Speaker 2: able to get you know what else is there?
- 30:37Speaker 1: Like I'm not even getting hundreds and hundreds of purple
- 30:41Speaker 1: Zach Rider sunglasses from WW shop hundreds because like I
- 30:45Speaker 1: just was buying it where.
- 30:46Speaker 2: They were cheap. Oh, I'd like literally have hundreds. You
- 30:49Speaker 2: used to like do that, like just buy anything up
- 30:52Speaker 2: Kurt Hawkins just to have, But no, I don't them anymore.
- 30:54Speaker 2: I just I don't know.
- 30:55Speaker 1: If anybody wants some purple zach Riders some guy like
- 30:58Speaker 1: maybe a little get.
- 30:59Speaker 2: Away off like some of my trading cards to hand
- 31:01Speaker 2: out to.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Like those Deluxe Aggressions Jack zach Riders, like they were
- 31:05Speaker 1: on sale at Ringside ones and I think I got
- 31:07Speaker 1: the whole.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I still got it, Indy run I got rid of those.
- 31:11Speaker 2: It's pretty quick. Yeah, but god, yeah, So we'll talk
- 31:14Speaker 2: about everything. I mean we are. Let's talk about the
- 31:16Speaker 2: elite squad WW be elite squad. Like I said, we
- 31:19Speaker 2: got a little bit of an inside horse. I'm not
- 31:21Speaker 2: going to say we're the leaders.
- 31:22Speaker 1: There's I would say a JS we're the leaders, you know,
- 31:25Speaker 1: there's a j there's Renee, there's Kathy Kelly. I think
- 31:29Speaker 1: we are the ones who are we were the tost
- 31:32Speaker 1: draft picks, I would hope. So.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Actually I heard it was supposed to be heat Slater,
- 31:35Speaker 2: which is which? Which is?
- 31:38Speaker 1: I don't think that's maybe somebody just saw like a picture,
- 31:43Speaker 1: Oh yeah, maybe picture of us thought it was the
- 31:45Speaker 1: same guy.
- 31:46Speaker 2: But I've been really trying to get away from the
- 31:49Speaker 2: Heath Slater Mike Knelis and Buddy Murphy look alike comparison.
- 31:53Speaker 1: So but yeah, so like being a part of the
- 31:55Speaker 1: elite squad, we do get some upcoming news before everyone else.
- 31:59Speaker 1: We're not gonna spoil things here unless we're you know,
- 32:02Speaker 1: giving the green light for sure.
- 32:04Speaker 2: And I just think this, I.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Don't worry a bill. I want to know Bills out
- 32:07Speaker 1: there like sweating it out.
- 32:08Speaker 2: Like relaxing where he's at, of course, but uh, I
- 32:12Speaker 2: want to encourage people to listen to this, whether they're
- 32:14Speaker 2: like a vintage collector, because we'll for sure get into
- 32:16Speaker 2: plenty of that all the time, and if you're a
- 32:18Speaker 2: modern day collector, you know, so it's a little bit
- 32:20Speaker 2: for everybody.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah, we're definitely gonna you know, go from l JNS
- 32:23Speaker 1: to Mattel. We're gonna talk about everything, and.
- 32:26Speaker 2: Which reminds me. Support the Mattel retro line.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, please, these things are my absolute favorite,
- 32:32Speaker 1: and I feel like the fans aren't giving it enough
- 32:35Speaker 1: love because the more love the fans give it, the
- 32:37Speaker 1: more love Mattel will give.
- 32:38Speaker 2: And it's guys our age that need to support it
- 32:40Speaker 2: because it's sentimental to us growing up and I don't
- 32:43Speaker 2: loving it and it's so similar. God, the ring is
- 32:46Speaker 2: twenty bucks. Amok, it's amazing. Come out of this ring
- 32:48Speaker 2: right now. It is. I just kissed the mic perfect.
- 32:51Speaker 1: I don't know how that sounded, but I just kissed
- 32:52Speaker 1: the mic because these figures are beautiful and I'm getting
- 32:55Speaker 1: my own retro figure, so I'm a little biased.
- 32:58Speaker 2: True, you're getting too a leite, so that's kind of cool.
- 33:01Speaker 2: I gotta smile ear to hear. Baby, you got that?
- 33:04Speaker 2: What is that? That Chase Chase variant, which is very cool.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Matel's offering Chase variance this year. I won't be the first,
- 33:10Speaker 2: we'll be the second.
- 33:10Speaker 1: And that's what's cool about Mattel, you know, because I
- 33:12Speaker 1: know we're it feels like we're kissing their butt right now.
- 33:14Speaker 2: But honestly, they're the best figures of all time, which okay,
- 33:18Speaker 2: if you guys won't proof of. I was gonna tap
- 33:22Speaker 2: out completely to collecting when like that two thousand and
- 33:25Speaker 2: nine twenty ten switch over, and then I saw the
- 33:29Speaker 2: first set of Elites. I was like, I bought them,
- 33:32Speaker 2: took the package up. There's another thing we'll have to
- 33:34Speaker 2: get into. We open toys. Oh yeah, a lot loose collectors.
- 33:39Speaker 2: But anyway, I took them out, and I know for
- 33:42Speaker 2: a fact, I told Joy said, look, man, these might
- 33:45Speaker 2: be the greatest rest all time. You're gonna to collect these,
- 33:47Speaker 2: and hard headed bro scrib here didn't do it for years.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I was, uh, and I'm telling them one time, they're
- 33:56Speaker 2: making these legends.
- 33:57Speaker 1: They're onving Jackson license.
- 34:00Speaker 2: It broke my heart life too, and my long term
- 34:02Speaker 2: girlfriend broke up with me. It was like a double whammy.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, because they were they were around nine
- 34:07Speaker 1: ninety six over ten year run.
- 34:08Speaker 2: It was a big run.
- 34:09Speaker 1: And then to tell me my collection was not going
- 34:11Speaker 1: to continue, yeah, oh my god.
- 34:13Speaker 2: And I felt the same way, but I just quickly
- 34:15Speaker 2: got over it when I saw him, and I tried
- 34:17Speaker 2: to convince you, but you weren't hearing it until years later.
- 34:20Speaker 2: I've since gone back. I pieced together, and I have
- 34:22Speaker 2: a lot of money and doing stuff that he should
- 34:25Speaker 2: have been doing. But they are incredible toys. So support
- 34:28Speaker 2: the line, support the podcast, and uh yeah.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And we'll keep this podcast family friendly so the kids
- 34:34Speaker 1: can listen, you know, the kids who like their basics.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Sure, let's do it. I'm not I'm not a basic
- 34:38Speaker 2: post that. I'm trying not to curse anymore anywe, because
- 34:40Speaker 2: I have a daughter, I do try not. I have
- 34:42Speaker 2: two cats. You can curse round cat. That's true. That's true.
- 34:47Speaker 2: That's probably fine. All right, folks, we are signing off.
- 34:50Speaker 1: We're gonna wrap it up for episode one, the pilot
- 34:52Speaker 1: of this podcast.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Hope you guys. So eventually they'd be like a little
- 34:56Speaker 2: jingle right here here right something, but instead of just uh,
- 35:02Speaker 2: here's what I was thinking earlier. Are we going to
- 35:04Speaker 2: have like an official like podcast Twitter? I think that's
- 35:07Speaker 2: too much. We don't need that. Our twitters are so
- 35:10Speaker 2: especially you are so big and popular, Like, what what's
- 35:13Speaker 2: the point? So keep like our twitters? Yeah, anytime you
- 35:17Speaker 2: want information on the podcast.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not gonna be like at the major restaurant
- 35:21Speaker 1: or on Instagram, so I.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Just follow up.
- 35:23Speaker 1: We post pictures the thirties and we're posting pictures of
- 35:27Speaker 1: the action figures at least me on a weekly basis.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I admit, I'm I'm so bad. Like so, we just
- 35:32Speaker 2: had our good friend Pat Buck Teachers had a podcast
- 35:35Speaker 2: I appreciate areciate bad a couple of minutes ago because
- 35:38Speaker 2: I don't know anything about technology. I'm real bad. I
- 35:40Speaker 2: don't play video games. I don't do anything to do
- 35:43Speaker 2: that's what kids, bro, Like, You're way more tech savvy
- 35:46Speaker 2: than me. Like, I don't know anything. That's not saying much.
- 35:50Speaker 2: I was telling Finn in the car. I was like, yeah,
- 35:53Speaker 2: I can't run the Creative Pro Instagram because I don't
- 35:57Speaker 2: want to be logging in, logging out and changing the
- 35:58Speaker 2: pastwards and stuff. And he goes, dude, it's right there.
- 36:01Speaker 2: It's a click. Like I didn't realize like you could
- 36:03Speaker 2: just like you can bounce back and forth between them
- 36:05Speaker 2: without like signings that I had. No. He blew my
- 36:07Speaker 2: mind like something that that's how far off I am anyway,
- 36:13Speaker 2: you know what, No.
- 36:15Speaker 1: No, no, none of that stuff. Yeah, we gotta gotta
- 36:20Speaker 1: come up with the little goodbye not.
