A Taste of Marshal Law
Aired: May 31st, 1952. When two soldiers are murdered and an Army payroll vanishes on the road to Fort Dodge, a hotheaded young major threatens to slap Dodge City under military rule unless Matt Dillon makes an arrest. As tensions boil over with a drunk ex-Confederate at the saloon, Kitty tries to play matchmaker between the weary marshal and a pretty new girl in town. It's classic Gunsmoke: frontier law, wounded pride, and the thin line Matt walks to keep the peace.
